Good morning ..
morning
howdy!
er, flip!?
my first flip!
there! finally got the chat log to work
morning
whoa, Z in the middle
morning again!
flip 'n crah...
a z which starts *8* words, too
how many words are there? my trial has expired.
I've never been online when it switched
does that make me an official babblenerd
253 words
luwanda, me neither
253 total words today
yeah, I saw that.
ty
amazing
don't know what to do about that
but I'm probably toast.
crashes...(after flip)
d7/36
(part of me wonders which 8 words it is, there aren't a heck of a lot of z words out there comparitively)
yeah - I'm sure we'll figure it out pretty quickly.
wow, tons of plural / past tense / action verb potential
huh - i had that 'chat log loading' problem again - but fran, if you're around, thanks, used your suggestion & now it works
helen we had the same idea today
nice icon, helenkeller
lol leslie - great minds . . .
m7/44
but leslie - the twigmeister, with a braid !?!?!?!
i mean it's not like she pops into my head b/c i watch america's next top model all the time... *hangs head in shame*
Sorry about the "chat log is loading.." problem again.
a 7/ 60, while we're at it
i couldn't find a nice head shot like you have... i'll try again
Hello Everyone!! How many Z's ??? no way!
love barbie clone i
dr-g - it was suggested that i hit the 'hide/show chat' button & that seemed to work
Thanks Dr_God. Hi Mr. P!
barbie clone, you're beautiful!
hey ch1212!
sams
leslie - ANTM is a great show!!! i love it!!! but this time i think they messed up big time, both the blond & the nutcase would have been better winners than miss thang
there, that's better
oops
I got the a7/60
good thing that isnt a word :)
helen!! i haven't watched the last one yet. but i knew what happened anyway. you didn't like danielle? she was my favorite.
ch1212 - nice icon (i considered that one)
thanks, helenkeller -- I always thought Jackie was chic, in whatever decade she graced :)
anglo isn't a word?!
is it pink day?? your icons are lovely and pink!
amazin is too a word
knutmeg, I think it's usually capitolized, like Hispanic
it is 60s day, mr. p
and so is anglo
I am on it!! need to find an Icon to suit...
Don't mention the war ...
right on, libarebel
really leslie ?- i liked the other 2 better, both personality-wise & model-wise - well, there you go . . ps. i like your new icon much better :)
This grid is not as easy as I thought it should be!
indeed, nutmeg
pshaw! danielle was the only one with a personality and a sense of humor. jade looked like a tranny, period. i wouldn't have minded if joanie won
Lovely icon, ch1212...
I think I'm just gonna go to 600 points and then call it a night
hmm, i was considering a laugh-in icon, which would be appropriate since "goldie" is in the grid (won't take it, though)
leslie - i just loved it when nigel, the photographer judge said (early on) jade just needs to get laid - i thought that was sooooooo funny - with his proper brit accent & all
thanks, libarebel -- I always admired Jackie
stid- now the other half of yoru name is in the puzzle! :-)
hey, 2 m 7/ 44
i thought it was obvious early on that either joanie or danielle would win when they took them to the dentist -- when have they fixed major flaws of any other contestants??
What a class act JackieO was!
they did something like that once before - oh yeah, for the tall, skinny (lol, yeah that narrows it down, lol) blonde hick chick who cheated on her boyfriend - 2 seasons ago - i think they did something for her eyes so she wouldn't need her glasses
or i may be confusing her with the one who was going blind- it all blends together, lol
Shandi, I think her name was
hmm, i don't know if i watched that one, yeah, i just remember the one who was going blind
yessssss amp -that's the one!!!!!
I think that was you helen? lol
I think helenkeller went blind...
yes, lib, i am often mistaken for a supermodel, ah such is my life :)
teehee
gag
I'd like to know how one of the ma4/5s is not a proper noun. Its the name of a chocolate bar *and* a planet, and (i think) some greek person or other... name, name, name proper noun, yes?
supermodels must gag to stay svelte?
doesn't it mean like to mark on something?
knut...you can also m** something (ruin it)
LOL - did you see what i wrote for my icon today -lol - it's the theme
It's also present tense of "to deface"
knutmeg-- the red planet
oh, that definition... (headdesk)
Just read it, helenkeller --- wonderful! And sadly, true
ma4/5 is also the third person present of "to damage"
meg don't fall asleep there! come back!
speaking of chocolate bars... *wanders off to get some food*
oh, i guess we don't have to worry about h er
yeah ch1212, very sad, was just talking with a friend whose daughter is bulimic - mega problems
ooooh, i have a grey box !!!
yeah, me too, it's the first s ;)
lol leslie - that's the same one i have !!!!
and the race is on . . .
me too-s
81 words and I'm starting to lag here... think I may have to toddle off to bed.
Yep. me too
3 way race now
wow, the suspense..
does anyone know what time the lickety clues will be for todays puzzle?
4-way
81?? geez maybe i shouldn't have been yapping about tv so much :)
got the second top row s's greyed out now too :)
81? I've got 23!
ooh, good one teresa. i'm only missing one.
data
yeah leslie - my thoughts exactly - i only have 70, you?
sorry, keep typing in the wrong box
oh yeah, sure, of course, i have about 75. or 38, whichever you prefer
LOL - you crack me up!!!
oh, believe me, there's a lot of babblers on right now who have LOTS more than me or most of us. Sprite does these in minutes -- she's phenomenal.
pls! type in one I don't have!:)
there is a nice ma 7/44 that means when something gets smashed up, it gets ma 7/44
yeah - well - yeah, it's much harder to babble& chat at the same time. so there, i think that's pretty phenomenal too - LOL
are there 3 of those?
I have 5 words --
Want a clue -- 5 big ones here...
only 11 here
thanks, helenkeller . ShadeEagle, don't know if there are 3 of the ma 7/44, so far have just found the one 7 I gave the clue for already.
I've got an impressive a 7/60 at the moment
nice!
oh nice, eage
er, eagle
okay - I've found 2 m 7/44 right now
bottom feeders will rise
lol lib
lol, my best at the moment is 5, 16 haha
this won't last. don't worry.
mati
I was trying to help you out there with the a 7 / 60, actually.
oops
My new Icon has arrived!!..... enjoy!
hee, hee, chrissie2006--what did people go to California seeking in the Go*** Rush ( I bet you had that one)
whoa a new mr. p icon? i don't know if i can handle this much change...
t 7/40
shadeeagle - that's incredible, unbelievable and a***
very 60's chic and pink, Mr. P!
c 7/36, c 8/50
THAT'S where one of the 8s is.
OH! OH! ShadeEagle, I could hug you right now, you gave me like 15 words with that hint!
WOW broll!
hahahahaha mrp - good!!!!
o mrp - that's way cute, but what about the other guy, will we ever see him again? - i'm so used to seeing that crazy cat -i will miss him - cracks me up every time :)
Hey there guys and dolls!
cr7/60 - making insane
I did? I only found one with that hint. uh-oh.
hey chic
hiya chic - very cool icon :)))
My melonhead cat comes right back on the flip! I promise you that!!
glad to hear, mrp , i loves that cat!!!
ooh Chic, love your icon! I saw the movie when it first came out since I couldn't go (was living in Hawaii at the time)
cool cat
were you half a million strong chic?
I've seen but 2 incarnations of mrpresident; both endearing :)
well, I found the a7/60, which made me realized I had missed that suffix, so I found a zillion words using that suffix, so, Thanks!
You betcha, right down in front
ooh, do tell, knutmeg
and you were in the movie too chic!
ah, okay. then never mind, that's pretty much all I've been doing, actually.
very nice 60's doll ren!!
no slinged?
there's a ton of possibilities on the board with a bunch of plurals, past tense, and present tenses
ah thanks student, that was the last s i needed there! ;)
I'm still one short on that S
do you have the sl** gin?
Whooops...
i had that but need two more s
whoops. got it.
already had that one - had to get skinny to find the last one, though.

good nite lib :) hey, didn't i aldready say that???
deja vu...
hi bgood
the babble vacuum...
okay, I just hit the halfway with no clues and no list, but it's 2 am and I am UGH tired, so I'll say good night now
Good Night Now
good nite nrk !!!!
Helenkeller, you know Helen Keller did once say "nature makes the differences and society calls them handicaps"
Speaking of handicaps, it is tough to keep up with the rankings; should we all babblers get some "handicaps" with the rankings? :)
crazie is not found...
aargh, to bed
bgood - hk conveyed many profundities - there is one i especially like, click on my profile :)
lib, did you try another ending?
saw your profile which prompted me into chipping in one more while fighting with the grid
yes, I finally have the second s grey!!!! I can now sleep!
how many words today?
what do you mena i can't make a past tense word more past tense. (maybe perhaps its my bedtime?)
bgood - that quote you said reminds me of one by nehru - he said, "life is like a game of cards. the hand that is dealt you represents determinism; the way you play it is free will."
253, rycaut
HK - touche
can't find it; must be crazy...
lol luw - ok, this is absolutely the last time i am saying good nite to you -now, good nite!!! :))
when I was pregnant I had cravings okay drop the s, and change that middle letter...
lib, do you mean cr7/60?
making insane - like this puzzle is making me
hi all...start, I see you're in Italy....would you like to add yourself to our map? www.frappr.com/babble We want as many countries represented as possible:)
and me!
I'm still up long enough to say nite again helen; I may be cynical, but watch 4 poseurs :)
oh, an australian dog can't be made past tense either? maybe I shouldn't use that suffix so much...
lib, are you still here too??? ---- gotcha
ok tndaisy
you sound like my husband I'm signing off ...for real this time
ty:)
I am waiting ..
hi heken, just back after crash; when I entered the last msg. I crashed-- weird? well, nite, really :)
my brain hurts ><
LOL
heken??
78 words, since that was the year I was born, I'll take it as a sign I shoudl stop and go to bed. Well, that and I can
I cannot make every word past tense and this is really bothering me
i've been called worse, :)
lolol, helen!
ok, that's it - i'm tired - and i have an even 100 left - going pomeranian puppy hunting tomorrow - i'm very excited!
good nite everyone
good luck HK and no rush to adopt one :)
i have one, it's for someone else, i'm just the expert witness, :)
g'nite

ill ask the clouds to get over there! - left my car windows open today to a surprise rain
It's raining over here in Finland too, finally!
where are yo now, bgood2animals?
perhaps we all should do grid-dancing to move rain activities over to Seattle
It's about time too, since we've had a dry spell just in time for pollen season. My eyes were itching so much!
liba - NY
NYC?
close to NYC - Long Island - where allergies thrive
We've been inundated in MA...heard NY not too bad?
Liba - you must have experienced some floods in MA? Hope that has subsided!
somewhat, ty bgood :)
Nah, nothing like it from your area.
this is still pale compared to Katrina...
yes...even animal rescues are still underway from that disaster...
bgood, are you familiar w/ IFAW?
sure do - we heavily support North Shore Animal League America (nsal.org) who have rescued hundreds of animals from katrina...
do you know IFAW?
yes Liba
International Foundation for Animal Welfare
I thought not... bye
yes i think the website is ifaw.org right? good night liba

Dr God AKA Jamie, creator of babble and iron soduku
national sarcasm, maybe ;[]
ah! thanks Liba and Mitch - babble and national security - nah...
Oooo Yay! I think I've got an icon now!
national security is babble
yey you do Miss ABS!!!
I'm torn, shall I leave the studious owl? Or shall I change it to a kangaroo (aka roo for short)?
switching icons--this one's too purty--brb
Miss ABS... you look pretty today!
MrP what have you done to limecat?!?!?!?
Fmitch... she has gone 60's!!
Hello Mr P! Looks like things worked out perfectly! Thanks again!
I'm a bit torn whether to use the "owl" or to put up a roo!
LOL, if you say so MrP!
Just make sure those kiddies of your enjoy babble as much as we all do!!
oh I will, I put the school teacher owl up there just for them in fact!
good choice ABS!
See I was thinkin' bout that! LOL I almost overloaded a brain cell too!
And that's a dangerous thing since I only have the one in the first place!
yup, whiskers grew back...
Clues are up Everyone. Enjoy!
I don't think my cat is too happy with the transformation... she is looking more pi**ed than normal!

Cheers lickety, thanks
Lickety is good :)
MrP she looks like she is about to explode
where are the clues?
look under friends of babble at the bottom of the page for licketys babble clues
Thanks lickety!
i am not sure i understood what a "ac5,12" means for opener (sorry guys, i'm a newbie but do pick up quickly)
mrpresident, it really does look like the 6 minute record...
bgood - 5 stands for the length of the word, and 12 is the points that you get when you enter it
sorry, 9 minute!
thanks lickety
newbie is a spy
probably awful to beasties...
morning all :)
thanks liba...got 53 and 200 to go...
bgood - It's worth going Pro in this game! And it's really cheap - plus such a great group of people here.
except for me :)
Sure is!
Yeah - if you choose Willy Nelson as a pic - you're going to get flac ;-)
only joking libarebel - He is one cool dude
yup :O)
iconless
will consider it lickety and liba what kind of flower is in your icon?
iris, before I shaved...
bgood - did you know that they have Icon themes - each day? There is a theme and for those that get into it they change their icon every day
I hate the Z's...
lickety you should be on commission from Dr_G!! Morning sherb
are you the famous licketySplit???
morning FMitch :)
... more like infamous LOL
So -- how does one become a Pro? Where to go?
lickety is a hero... :)
Erda - you ARE a pro by the looks of it...
you have an icon and a profile...
I am honored, lickety! :-D
Gee -- it must've happened automatically
automatic like payroll deduction!
libarebel - you need to go to the My Account page and click Show Profile so that your flag and your handbag show...
I've got one of the 8s any clues on the other?
LOL or on both since it's hard to know which one I've got!
will do, sherb, ty ;)
got a clue for the you have please
No problem, let me think...
ooh, handbag??
It's what Minas Tirith was in LOTR
and the plural of that
does that help?
the head and shoulders next to the flag - either pink or blue to denote gender - looks like a handbag... :)
who's minas tirith
...and what's LOTR...
It's a place... let's see if I can come up with a better one...
Lord of the Rings by Tolkien
Morning dear gang :)
Morning Sprite
it's another name for a fortress
that'll be a better one
starts with a ci
ty, sherb
I love that clue :)
Which one?
good morning all and ty Miss ABS
The LOTR one.
Ah, I'm a HUGE LOTR fan... well Tolkien I mean.
Me too!
am i pink now?
Excellent! Have you read Unfinished Tales and the Sil?
morning sprite :)
yee-haw!
you are pink liba :)
Of course! Great stuff, filling in so much about the background of LOTR. Hi sherb :)
I'm one of those people who never got Tolkein... like Marmite...
LOL sherb
Oh yeah definitely does. I actually just finished his translation of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight which was pretty good too
It's never too late for Tolkien, sherb. ;)
LOL Well I'm not a marmite fan myself, I much prefer vegemite. No nasty aftertase with that.
aftertaste* I so gotta get a new keyboard
ty, sherb
Morning sprite Aah but you are bias Mss ABS being a Aussie!
yw liba... and welcome to Pro Babble :)
LOL Well true, but we do promite (sp) here too... though I've never tried it.
You need a new keyboard every time you make a typo? Gawd, that would become too expensive for me, LOL.
lol, no it's just my keys stick quite often on t and c
Must tear myself away form the chat and get on with the morning, happy babbling all.
and sometimes v, but that's only when I'm typing really quick
Have a great day, FMitch.
later FMitch :)
Is it a custom now todetermine gender based on the color of one's handbag? (hee hee)
lol
You got me thinking on that one, libarebel! Isn't that discriminating? Shouldn't a man be allowed to wear a pink handbag? And, even more important, shouldn't we women be allowed to wear every color handbag we choose? Even blue? Or none at all?
I'd lose a handbag if i carried one!
i want green
lololol, sprite, yes to all of the above
finally done the Z's... time I got dressed... later all :) hi and bye mab :)
I do have a handbag. Somewhere. Believe it is hanging on the hatstand. Has been there the last year or so. However, it is NOT pink. ;)
mab... lol, you can get a green handbag by not filling the gender part of the profile.
I've got five zs but have no idea on the other three. Probably words I've never heard of before.
gelid
Nah, that is not green. That is grey.
oh, bugger! SORRY!!!
And thanks :)
Hey one of the words is an anagram of the word doing. The kids in my class love anagrams too and we had that one last week!
It looks green to me, Sprite... but I'm prepared to split the difference and call it...bah, you can't hybrid grey and green.
I once used my handbag as a weapon (ok, shoulderbag) on he T in Boston
Hahahaha... ok, green it is then. A dark greyish green :)
greyish green to black... not pink
*grin* greyish green it is. Not as fabulous as pink, but I'm not really a handbag kinda girl myself. I carry a black courier type bag if I can't fit everything I need in my pockets.
it is sort of camouflage color. i thought you might be in the armed forces trish trash :D
Nah Mab, I like the sound of Secret Agent TrishTrash better!
great minds think alike... :)
khaki handbags? Dude, awesome.
"The name is trishtrash. JAMES tristrash. Special Army Forces, license to shoot words."
camouflage--ooh
Good one Sprite
"Shaken and verrrrrry disturbed."
ha! Sprite!
LOL, I'm in favour of any role that gets me closer to a martini ;)
Same here :)
Ooo make that three of us!
morning everyone:)
morning all can anyone please give me a clue for the am 5/14
Hi jean! Martini for you too?
if anyone is wondering where it's after noon to have the proper time for a martini... it's 5:30PM here. Perfecting for alcohol-o'clock!
there is a little game on gamesforthebrain.com which requires one to protect one's font from being italicized.
shaken, not stirred for trish
yes please shaken not stirred
LOLLLL, it is not even 10 am here. I'll save mine for later.
am5/14 = chemistry word am5/6 plus second vowel
esp?? lol
sorry am4/6 + second vowel
its 8.55 here lol
Sprite what's the time difference between you and the UK? Is it past 8AM there yet?
I am never sure about the UK, whether they are with us on DST or not. It is almost 10 am here now.
almost 9am here
ah okay, I'm just supposed to ring a mate of mine in Yorkshire after 8AM lol
You can go ahead then :)
sorry everyone i should have asked for a clue for the 1st 5/14
I might hop off here and do that really quick then trishtrash if it's that late in the day. Which part of the UK are you in?
ruthy perhaps to gather together?
West Midlands, not (comparitively) that far ... but there's no significant time diff over the length of the UK ... 9am is pretty much 9am everywhere.
1st am 5/14
yeah, I was just curious. Anyway, I think I'll hop off and make that phone call. Will probably be back a bit later, but if not have a wonderful day/night/whenever you are! Cheers everyone! *clink*
bye for now
ruthy: don't forget the M below the A. That was my mistake, anyway.
toodles, Miss Abs!
good start to the morning hit the wrong button and disconnected the internet doh
jean, darrrrrling... that little red box with the white cross in it does NOT mark the spot...
hae a martini...
rofl
had martini, can't spell...
just the one, libarebel? ;)
hee hee tr
ty sprite
those m's are a doozie!!
Can you believe I have zero (!) Z-words so far?
Heya MrP, didn't know you were about :)
I've got two of them, Sprite, rhyming with the bell sound.
hiya everyone!!
hi bex
"hi bex" was not found in the dictionary
Well, that is definitely weird! I did enter those and they were not taken. I seemed to remember the word from a certain tea. And now, after your message, I try again and they are taken.
hey, sure am!! three of the z's are like the bell sound and wo of the others are zi+ male sheep
LOL trish!
wo - two
thanks, Mrp, the z's looking much more respectable now!
Yeah! Only 3 to go :) Thanks!
g'nite all, have fun :)
Bye liba, cu later :)
Mrp, I like your orange icon... I have an animated version of that as a lj icon, flashing on and off with the text "defiant citrus"
night liba
g'night libarebel
I found the first Am5/14. Plural french friends.
Sprite--don't you mean Latin?
Latin plural, you are right.
do you have the last am 5/12?
The alt. spelling of the foreign ruler one?
I have the plural of the Eastern ruler
Wait, there is also the one that ends the same as not being able to sleep.
I found Z4/9 misspelled bad habits in biblical sense.
Good morning, all. How's things? Hows' the grid? Doubt I'll finish today - off to get a haircut later...
ty, Sprite
morning matty
It is fun, though the As are overly present :)
morning! ty Sprite for the z--I'm still struggling with that a
50 A's!!! no way!!
Kateq, do you have Am6/21 (Am + girl's name)? Leave out first letter of the name for the 5.
italian friends is ok, but not 'amica' :C
mab: even weirder: female french friend is valid!
253 is too, too much to handle. I don't think I will be joining you today. Have fun everyone, if you can call it fun!
I am having fun right now, ExWren :)
yes, sprite, i noticed that too.
fun is another word for obsession (?)
by now, ExWren, i'm simply programmed to play the game - even if i know i'll hate myself later. I don't know how you do it sprite.
love your icon mab
thank you, and I, yours.
I don't play every day, but if I can, I play. And I love it :) No, I am not obsessed. Just getting a mild attack of paranoia if I do not play. That does NOT count.
sounds very normal, sprite....
I know what you mean sprite, I'm sitting here with fingers itching, and cannot bring myself to log out
if only i could complete this at 10 times the rate you do sprite!
Down to 72 now, so the end is getting in sight. ExWren, I know! It is just such an A7/60 game you cannot resist.
I get frustrated when time, work and family prevent me from finishing. There's no chance I'll finish today's grid - but I'm not ratings obsessed, so it's not a biggie - just frutstrating!
TY Sprite--but it is those two am's (5/12, 6/21) I'm missing I'll come back to it later--I still have 100 other words to find LOL
Ive got 74... I have all the A's
got to go happy babbling everyone hopefully bbl to try for some more:)
Well, ExWren, it's mostly small words today...
Good morning all.
Cripes - even the ac words are causing me problems.
I have a whopping 130 words to go, but not using list yet. So much more fun without the list (for which I'm nevertheless grateful).
hi all! how big is the grid today?
Big - 253 words and 50 A words!
But there are two beautiful endings in this grid, good for lots and lots of common words.
Found the 2nd 8. Ca8/55. Builds on Ca6/24, Ca + first part of the guy that always rings twice. The 6 has a plural as well. The 8 is past tense.
Did you all have problems with the site again or is it just me?
Dunno - had to fold laundry. Humph. Ac4/6 - surely there are only a few possibilites. Damned if I can find them. Columbo (which I am watching at the moment) would have better luck discovering the words.
mattygroves- think of either tennis or card games
Oh, duh. I was looking at the wrong C. I hadn't even noticed there were two.
aced
SORRY!!
That's it, matty ;)
Pfui, As done!
nodded off briefly.. Thanks sprite for that unlikely 8! I sent message to the good doctor about problems with the site; he replied that he'd fixed it. So no, I've not had a problem yet today.
I got a different message now: "Word couldn't be added, try again after a few minutes" or something like that.
Oh, for anyone interested: that Ca-word is related to a medieval hood made of iron rings, designed to protect head and neck.
oh, right, my mother used to wear one - bit old-fashioned now.
No way your mother is that old, lol.
dear old mom and her chain mail wear.
There is another meaning, referring to a kind of hat church officials used to wear.
I like the first definition
hello
Hello maddison.
Oooh - I want admatic to be there. Bummer.
hello maddison
Yeah! Got the final 2 Zs. Za5/22 - 6/36 = Z + A4/5 - 5/12
Hi maddison! How goes it today?
Not good. I have 7 words. but I like it.
maddison, you sound like an addict-to-be :)
I am getting strange images for the Mi6/30 - 7/44 compounds. What on earth can they be?
I got a hard one. It is a dog and I got it on my own.
wtg maddison!
ooo that's good - I needed that, maddison. tx :)
canid
lol!
AAAAAAKKKKKK
you are welcome
I am so so sorry.
lol
Looks like drG is right, we are all getting used to it very fast ;)
I'm not usually.....I've been up all night..... Oh, darn, no excuse.
It's the site, not you, mab. I was joking.
We'll never get used to it, I fear.
No, that's what I felt from the start. And new people will have to start all afresh with getting used to it. Which simply means the site isn't userfriendly.
Done!
One does feel like such a dunce. As a matter of fact, I happen to be a dunce.
Brava, spritely!!!!!!!!
No fireworks though, just like yesterday. I think I have been too much of a bother to be allowed fireworks anymore :)
Well done. I only have 200 to go... Still, there are some cute sparrows on my bird table.
no fireworks!?
You are good sprite. I like you too.
Nope. Didn't get them yesterday either. Script doesn't work, I think. :) It's all about fun, maddison. That's what I am addicted to here.
Our sprite is amongst the very best and, I might add, the most beloved.
Hey Sprite - You checked out the Rankings page lately?
Nope, hardly ever do, lickety. Should I?
lol mab, 'best' should be read 'too stubborn to give up', but I love the beloved :)
Sprite - YOU are a legend of Babble!
Stop it, guys, you have me blushing allover. Babble isn't about rankings, but about fun, wordhunting, and my favorite part: team work! I am crazy about you guys.
Zowie spritey, you've broken the record!
What - even me ;)?
What record?
You especially, matty :)
Your own, I guess.
Any clues needed before I go take a shower?
hello! i've been reading your conversations...congratulations sprite!
hi Raintree.
hellooooooo:)
Hi Raintree, thx :)
ai6/27 help anyone?
no problemo! man...I'm having trouble today...the words ain't coming!!!
Ai6/27 Finishing the grid is what lots of us are ai6 for.
ai6/27 gerund of verb to point at
Doh!
thats me finished bye eveyone
oh.good clue. but i already got that...did you, matty?
wtg ruthy!
Sprite, I have the am5/12--the last one--would you help with the am 6/21?
ruthy's gooooood.
am + girl's name = Am6/21.
ruthy and Sprite--Congrats!
Yep - I'm being grid blind today - not seeing letter that are on the grid!
i still don't get am6/21...i guess i'm slow! :(
I got it now--am + lovely R*** meter maid
TY Sprite
Gosh, what a difference noticing that g makes...
one more A--az 5/22???
i got it i got it!!!! woohoo
Az5/22: not in de middle, alt. spelling.
*the middle, of course. Dutch is getting in the way :)
haha...
I had that! It's the az 5/20! Perhaps I need more coffee...
Az5/20 is plural to the az4/9.
TY!--Clearly, I do need more coffee--or something...
:) There's isn't a single grid in history that I did NOT forget either a plural, a singular (worse) or a verb tense. Usually my last words are very humiliating to find ;)
haha.hmm that makes me think.
I am off to shower, have a great day/night /whatever applies :)
As I look at this grid, I see a criminal lizard, except that neither word is there! And I dread to think what a criminal lizard would look like....
how thoughtful! till next time sprite:) seeya!
isn't that the truth! and nice of you to say...
you too Sprite!
criminal lizard...my thoughts exactly!
t'would have shifty eyes, Haz.
give me words plz..
haha. i picture a lizard in jail garb...haha
plz..plz
Sorry - but anyone have a clue for the LAST am5/12 - the one befoe he last am clue (the one before am+meter maid)
oops --- bye sprite! have a lovely day!
Ileana, we don't give words here, only hints (except sometimes by accident, by accidently typing words into this box). Scroll down and check out the log for more clues, and don't forget the links down the bottom (Friends of Babble)
Mab, what are you doing up now?! You're at LEAST five hours earlier than we are...
yeah we don't give words (though I've wished and hoped many many times)...
Can I please have that hint I asked for at 5:08
morning babblers!
lleana - we don't give words away, just clues. To start you off an5/14 and an 6/27 (think of corners), an5/14 and an6/24 heavenly creature(s)
hellooooooo bonkler! gooooood morrrning!
last am 5/12 = plural of the sac which contains the fetus---think am****** fluid
hey raintree, that's the name of the cafe where i work!
oh, matty, insomnia generally. Shall sleep during day, which I dislike. At least I'm well entertained.
Hey - thanks!
amnia
oops
bonklerrr... haha oh man.:)
Oooh- just read your profile, mab - you sound a woman after my own heart. I went to Reed College in Portland - old hippies never die - they go to Reed!
mattygroves...your prof picture is real nice
matty...the am5/12 has been revealed.
hi all - just popping in to check the grid before starting the Saturday chores. Another biggie! Will pop in and out whilst cleaning so may not chat but hope to have time to see you more later
by bonkler a little while ago. unless you mean another am5/12? if so, I have no idea whatsoever...
Hey, Raintree - thanks. I like dragons...
I've moved on - onto at words...
i love dragons. there's something so awesome about them. I can't explain, really.

can you guys give me one word plz plz
rainy... apparently my psuedo twin is doing an awesome job! NOT
ileana, then the game wouldn't be that fun just knowing that you didn't do it all by yourself
haha
shut up!!ok!!
Also, if you read the chat, you'll find the odd word.
how??
omg who cares
Scroll down for the last few minutes, and hit the little calculator icon for earlier - up on the upper left
Thankyou all! Haven't had time to chat for a few days now but today will be all mine after the cleaning! Have made the fatal mistake of seaching for words already tho!
will you just tell me!!
shut up lleana
don't be so vulgar! there are children on here!!
you are not no bodys daddy or mama so you shut up~
sorry
Heh - I suspect Ileana IS a child.
me too.
iam 30 ok
is lleana 30
Ileana - has anyone directed you to Angelsongs page yet? If you go to the bottom of this page theres a site link that will take you there. You can find out all about the game and find a list that gives you the 1st 2 letters of all the words you need to find.
look. giving you clues is already a favor. throwing a tantrum isn't particularly HAPPY to help you.
angelsong's page is real good!
ileana -- you can find words just by looking, I know you can. Just scan the grid for a bit, and if you get stuck, get the list of the first two letters of each word at babs anon or Angelsong's page (links below).
also check out lickety's site, which i find very helpful when i go thick between the ears
iam bored of this stupid game
well then dont play it
haha thick betweeen the ears that's cute
who me
ook ileana. we're sorry we can't give you words, okay? don't play if you don't want to. seriously.

sprite didn't get her fireworks today.
thanks Mab! Snowy, they are not working! I implore all pyrotechnicians to give them up!!
Has Dr_God said why? I know there have been a lot of glitches with the new site -none of which I understand, being a computer idiot!

Hi all, We already have hose pipe bans in place (have been for about a month now)
Just heard on the radio that Freddy Garrity of Freddie and the Dreamers has died. My dad played golf with him once. -Those of you born after 1969 probably won't have heard of him at all!

omg...I'm new to this game and I don't at all understand the chatter lingo.... What is ac 5/12?
ok, somehow my feeble brain (helped with you babbler chatters) has hit 100 words. gonna see if i can get some more zzzz's and come back later and partake of lickety
sorry, cliffopa. I don't have it either.
a + auto and another vowel
ty
bingo! 101 words now. :) thanks phandmd. ciao for now babblers
yup
ty phandmd
I have been repeat typing MANLIEST! but I have grid issues!
ac 5/12 means word starts with the letters ac, is 5 letters long, and 12 points
under friends of babble, there's a link called lickety's babble clues, you'll find a list there that tells these numbers
ok....txs featherbee!
welcome!
also have a look at angelsongs pages as they have lots of helpful "how to's"
anyone got ca 8/55?
ca7 a fortress then plural it for the 8

Hey kateq - congrats!!!!!
M3 - it's a one off payment not annual
Hi Lolly, everyone
can anyone help with the am 6/21?
can't help cliff not doing the grid today, just chatting form time to time whilst working.
am 6/21 -- am + girl's name
am + a girls name
you beat me to it
faster fingers?
am + lovely **** meter maid
ty - got it!
why cant i move an 'a' to make criminal..*pout*
Have the fireworks become a thing of the past?
Ha - I must be getting better - I got an eight with no help from either you guys or the crossword solver. Hurrah.
what do the 8s start with?
Good for you, Matty
C
ca and ci
8 zeds??? I can't see one right now!!!!
zi.... went the strings of my heart?
ty ARB!
Plus two permutations, I hope you saw.
TWO permutations
Where?
I only saw 1 more...
Got it.
I'm not sure I used the proper mathematical term -- we need Hurshy for that -- I was trying to be cute.
Ginger, past and present
LOL... I'm taking a 2nd look... I got the zi4 you suggested and it's plural.
Thank you for the zi's ARB!
yw, Kitty
got it thanks :)
ok..so i could only find 6/8 zs WITH word finder...lol..should i give up now???
OK, the c's bite the dust - onward. Here's a question - do you guys play in order, or have a strategy, or just as you see words? I tend to start with whatever words I see, then work in order, but still adding other words as I see them...
hey Rolin, long time no see!
that's what i do, matty, along with keeping an eye out for clues in chat
I play as I see words and if I'm stuck, I try to look for words in order of the stats.
hey ging... are those kids your grandkids?
Rolin, you should have 2 za's and 6 zi's
i like to find the single word stats...ives me hope to see them grey out..lol
thz arb....im missing zi;s then...
one is my son and the other my grand daughter Rolin!
zi + male sheep and the plural
i have a definite plan of attack: i go row by row, looking for words of each letter...then when that's done, i search randomly for any i missed...then i go for lickety's list
arb..got those..and the **** went the strings and 2 extentions so 1 to go
I need the same Rolin
no, I need 3
whatcha got..?
Rolin shorten the strings on the heart one
ha!...cheers arb
l'chayim
I have the heart strings, the short heart strings, the male sheep ones. need 2 more.
za + ___ Farrow and the plural
they are za...an african nation missing the middle consonant...and its plural
Hit me now if yhou like, but de5/12, anyone? I can see what the first three letters have to be, but monkey typing isn't working...
de 5/12 is the plural of the de 4/5 before it
Tisn't - it doesn't work?
did for me
Are we talking a place to get a hot pastrimi sandwich on rye?
There are 2 de 4/5's. I'm referring to the first.
No, not the pastrami place.
same letters though
And don't make me homesick -- can't get a pastrami in Israel.
2 anagrams of that place tho
Me too - I'm looking for the 5/12 between the sandwich place and the other word
oooh..cant keep eyes open..need a little snooze.. im starting to feel the effects the concert last night...(i saw eric clapton at theroyal albert..sensational!!!)..see ya all later...
bye rolin
the de 5/12 means devil or imp
bye rolin
plural of, that is
Ok - got the fives - now the de7/36...
anyone have a hint for the final amm5/12
am 5/12, that is...please pardon the atrocious typing
like 4,6 only an added vowel at the end
got them at last! the farrow threw me but I should be ashamed, it's my g'daughters name!!!
whoops sorry wrong am :)
thats me finished
kittyvane - where r u from??
Finland

ooh ok, was tryin 2 decifer ur flag!
Finland isn't all that well known, or at least our flag isn't
Where in Finland Kitty? I have friends in Vammala
Helsinki
Never been myself but loved all the photo's I've seen
Well that's well known Kitty
we have lots of forests and lakes here and they make for some impressive scenery
That's true Maisie :)
Like us Scottish and our Lochs ;)
Oh yes, although you also have some wonderful mountains there. Finland is pretty much all falt.
I can't believe there are 253 words today.... I'm struggling with only 47!
I only have 23 - too much talking and procrastinating
:)
why did i decide to do the puzzle today? it's 253 words long
yeah, i'm with you esquian
I can only find one of the at's...bleh
yeah....and usually if I get stuck, I can find a whole bunch of 4 letter words to make me feel better, but not today
Kitty...have you added yourself to our group map? We'd love to have as many countries represented as possible:) www.frappr.com/babble
Adding myself now :)
ty:) anybody else too of course...!
Does the "tn" in tndaisy stand for Tenneessee by chance?
this is a HARD one today!
yes it does. that's where I was born
but I live in California now
me, too. Chattanooga. Still live there?
hard huh feathers? I haven't started yet
i'm not even halfway yet, and want to get the list
ahh....I don't live there either anymore
I'm in Northern CA...my daughter still lives in TN...Lewisburg...and my son lives in SC
i'm in northern virginia but 5 of my 7 siblings still live there. they love it
I'll use list today bcs I don't know how long I'll have to play in peace. S/o is home so that makes it harder. and this grid is huge. will play on paper til I get most of the words, then enter them b4 the flip
Which list are you all talking about? (I'm new, tndaisy, if you couldn't tell)
help!!! the first AM 5 14 ? ....... PLEASE
a science term that plays off the am 4/6
least i think that's the first, i dn't have the list yet

Hi faerie
Good Morning everyone, lots of words today. Looks like rain here, good day to Babble
Hi rumplestiltskin
Snowy!!! Hi Hon
anyone have a hint for ca 8/55?
Love your Janis icon faerie! Mine is the dansette record player I inherited from my aunt when she left for SA in 1966.
good morning everyone
Hi anniebrook
I could have sworn "marm" has been accepted before, but now it's "not found in the dictionary". :(
i tried it on another puzzle before this one, kitty, and it wouldn't accept it. but i think it should! I think it will only accept if it's attached to school
the first AM 5 14 ? ....... PLEASE
am 5/14 is a chemistry term...take the preceding 4/6 and add a vowel to the end
Sorry Grim - I haven't ANY am14s yet!
and...there is only one am 5/14 as far as i can tell?
am 4/6 what you are when in a crowd
Oh good -got it from your clue benda thank you!
oh...i see it, i should learn to read better. am 5/14 take the word for a friendly sort of chap am***able), remove the last four letters, and add the second vowel of the alphabet
i have the one ending in e
amazing
srry
thanks for that. cheers
no problem grim....now if only i could find the ad6/24, i'd only have a hundred and twenty left to find
why do they do so many long ones in a row
Hi faeriekae

*scatty

I don't have many long words yet either! Keep an eye on the chat log and there will be clues for some. One I do have is am7 when something is suprising we often say -' that is am*****!!
i have that one
thnx tho
there are lots of 6 letter words that end the same way
ok
i could use a hint on ca 8/55 (and 7/36 and 6/24 because i bet they're all related)
thankyou
lol me too benda!
its all to do with sending letters to california
i'm stumped on the cr 7/60. does it come from any of the other cr's?
Hi Cliff LOVE the Kitty icon....Sooooo cute
cr 7/60 = maddening
great hint Grim!
crazied
oops!
ci 7/36 = a word often used in fantasy novels to describe a large town ci 8/50 is the plural
fortunately that wasn't the word!
right start, wrong ending cliffopa
heyy
Dang I want to use that z also Cliff LOL
Wow thanks Grim great clue!!!

hey
bye grim
Cliff I just started I've only got 62 words so far LOL
LOL Faerie -missed the cap lock key !!
anyone got a clue to the ti6 and 7? Is the 7 a plural?
i have 11 words
lol
well you're doing way better than me. the only reason i am still sitting here is because my kitten has been napping in my lap for 2 hrs :)
no stats so
lol
Awwwww Cliff that is so sweet.....
That's a good reason to Babble Cliffopa :D
ti6 = measure how long it takes & yes 7 is plural
Thanks ilandrah. Got 'em. I never saw that ing ending, but now I've spotted it, I'm away!
every once in a while he looks up at me with sleepy eyes and makes sort of a tired sound - i just want to cry he is so damned cute.
How old is he, cliffopa?
aaaw
'brady' is now 11 weeks old.
aww cute]
Great name. Is that him on your icon?
i haven't raised a kitten in 18 yrs. i forgot how cute they are. i usually adopt older cats with health issues. yes, brady is my icon today.
Cliff you deserve a metal Hon....Brandy is looks fiesty and frisky...you have done well.
hydra, i have a 'tuxedo' cat who likes to lay in weird positions like your cat.
lol
i have 2 cats and ones orange and ones white and grey
thanks faerie - i'm getting back everything i'm giving.
I've just spotted mine lying on his back on the soaking wet grass, legs akimbo, because the fox has sprayed there and it's his favourite perfume!
mizz, my favorite cat of all time was orange & white. he lived to be 17.
wow
hydra - yuk!
my fave cat cuddles with me and is so sweet
My partner had two that lived to be 22 and 23. They were called Bastard and Trollop!!! That says a lot about him...
i love cuddlers. brady is the 1st one i've had since my orange cat (sydney) passed away.
he lays like a human head on the pillow lol
Aaaah! Felix, the one on my icon, was a feral, but is now as cuddly as anything. Except he won't let anyone pick him up. He has to approach you.
i wish mine would live longer. most of mine have come from homes where they were not taken care of. I usually don't get them until they are 10 or older and have multiple issues.
My cat sleeps in the funniest positions, it's like she has no bones at all!
lol
she also meows in her sleep
when my kitty (zoe) gets in strange positions my husband and i say she is doing her yoga.
I talk and sing in mind, but have never been known to meow!
my big old himalayan 'beethovan' snores. but then again, so do i.
What kind of cat is a himalayan?
mine
shes a small hymilayan
What do they look like?
the himalayn breed was developed from crossing persians with siamese. they have smushed faces and always look grumpy :(
Ah. Cute!
mine is white blue eyes grey stripes o i guess mine isnt i thot it was
i never really thought they were cute until i adopted 2 of them 3 yrs ago. the older one (16) went to kitty heaven a little over a month ago. he had beautiful blue eyes and white/light grey fur like silk.
yea thats mi cat
shes a kitten
himalayans come in all colors mizz. the blue eyes are what makes them really special.
I had a Hemmingway cat for several years......came from the home of Ernest Hemmingway in the Florida Keys and what a wierd cat. Lots of interbreeding going on there.
wow
i heard a lot of those cats died during last year's hurricanes.
*cry*
very sad.
yea
Really Cliff - I never even thought of that....that is so sad..
That is sad :(
wow
i wish i wuld upgrade cus then i culd sho u mi cat
shes so cute
there are many cat lovers on babble mizz. a lot of us use pics of them as icons.
I've been trying to switch the brolly into a picture of my BooBoo, but it's not updating for me... yet
oddly enough when you look at my profile you see the kitty picture, but it won't show up here
refres kitty, i can see booboo
i meant refresh
I've been refreshing for a while now, and all I get is the brolly
umbrella?
zide
your booboo looks just like my zoe, even down to the sleeping position.
what color eyes?
yellow
?
i have to change so you can see her. brb.
ok
it's pretty impossible to take a photo of her when she's awake, unless I'm trying to take a picture of something else, and then she's all over the camera
if you refresh you can now see her
aaw
she has yellow eyes with a little green around the pupils.
BooBoo used to have a little green around the pupil when she was a kitten
jetX from Hawaii
looking back at the chat log it looks like black & white cat day.
hi jetx
hi cliffopa
Hi jetx -
hi faeriekae
hey
How is everyone today?
everyone lol
hi jetx:) we need another Hawaiian on our map!
hi fb
Hi daisy19! Well I'm just visiting for a couple of weeks.
oic:)
sorry...I can't keep up with where everybody is unless I look
Yep, here from Seattle doing alittle surfing....
I'm kinda partial to WA...stepson is up there, and of course, Stid:)
ello cliffopa how r u
i'm great fb. where are you from ?
anyone have the de 7/36?
100 words found, too may left. I shall go have some cake and snuggle with the man now. Bye all!
I can't find any of the ce words. How dumb is that?
de 7/36 is to establish boundaries
de 7/36 is de
God morning all. Anyone have the second am5/14? I'm wondering whether I should have started on this monster--it'd hard work today
de 7/36 is de + the word for the farthest extent
It's the preceding word plus the 2nd vowel
(The am 5/14)
the second am 5/14 is a chemistry term. take the preceding am 4/6 and add a vowel at the end
I'm with you, hetty, not sure if i should have started this puzzle today. i've got 190 so far, and this is one bugger!
You're doing well, bendamalina. I've only got 121 and that's in two hours!
Thanks, bend, I have that one. It mustr be the other I*'m missing--I can never get them in the right order
I think i've probably been here for two hours, maybe
Then you're plain brilliant! Well done.
Thanks to you too ,hydra. If you have them all, please give me a clue to the other am5/14
I've been here two hours also, bend, and I have a measly 59 words. How do you do it?
the other am 5/14 is a plural of some latin...take the word for a friendly sort of chap (am**able) and remove the ending, then add a vowel
The other is ca plus plural mothers (British abbreviation)
i'm using lickety's list, hetty!
How do you do it, Hydra? our rates are so different
also...i monkeytype like you wouldn't believe
I don't think I've done well at all!
ty bend, hubby came in and distracted me for a bit.
bend, I thank you. Got it.
Mind you, I do work as a literary consultant and writer, but I still don't know a fraction of the Babble words.
yvw cliff and hetty
hydra, I've spent my life as a wordsmith. I swear some of the babble words appear nowhere but in enable.
holy crumbcakes! there are sooo many ma words today!
I agree. They are really obscure. I like your musical icon, hetty. Do you play an instrument?
even for a monkey typer, bend?
hah! yes, especially for a monkeytyper...i guess i'm a mathematical/alphabetical monkey typer...which works better when you know where at least some of the words belong
Hello, and welcome to another edition of "Who's Birthday Is It Anyway?"..... I am your host, Movieman (A.K.A. CinematicHomoSapiens)..... Now, I've decided to make today's celebrity easy to identify, so, without further ado, let the game begin!!!!!
CHER
Hydra---I SING (also write songs, used to play harp, still play a little piano, but have arthritis which is why I can't type or play either instrument well...but I can still sing and "how can I keep from singing?"
Pretty obvious, wasn't it.....
a little
HELLO ALL HAPPY SATURDAY!
Hello there movieman, and aren't you smart and canny today? Correction, Every day!
You're exactly like me! I sing, write songs, play piano and guitar and now can only strum because of arthritis in my fingers. Too much typing over the years!
Hello Lucky!
We should communicate more. Are you going to the June 19 event?
HI Hydra I read you are a musician too how nice!
Hullo Lucky., nice to meet you.
Hetty - would that be the one in London.....
So is hetty. I once played in Belgium - second on the bill to a band called Family way back in the '70s. Sand in Liege and Antwerp. Very scary!
Musicians of the babble world, unite. Yes the one babbler is promoting. Alas it's too far for , but zi want to send a message
Oh, you come from Netherlands, not Belgium. One of my favourite places. I have been loads of times.
I am considering it, Hetty, but I also realise that it's only a month away......
Hey my stats have gone although my wordlist is still intact ....what's up????
Hi Hetty!
That happens sometimes, Lucky. Don't know why. Gotta pop out. See you all later.
Hydra, I wondered why you started in on Belgium then realized that message was for another babbler. Happens all the time. Anyway, good on you. As for the stats list---anything might happen, and frequently does
I've wondered if there are any Belgian babblers out there....
tndaisy check the who's online list for belgians
off to b'fast, everyone, see you all later. Hi, tndaisy, top if the morning to you
mirf
I never thought of that...duh:) ty
and to you hetty!
ugh.
i'm trying desperately to get to halfway before i do the list, but don't think i'll make it
how many words today?
featherbee do like me no lickety!
lucky, you're insane! i did it once, on the 47 word mother's day list
tonyv 253
thank you
Does anyone have the first ac 5 word?
This grid is busting me brain...... Over 250 words, and I can't see any of the 7's OR the 8's, or the z's....
{{{MovieMan}}} Happy Birthday to CHER

lol, typing out loud, i like that phrase
ROFL that is funny Annie :)

49 words to go!
before washing machines this is how my mother got the water out of clothes!

I think there might be 3 ma 7/44's...i'm looking for the one after the tropical fruit
only 2 I have are there any more ma7's?
ook cant help on that one
thanks for the try, though :D
i have a ma7 that is a compound word
and one that is a past tense of a ma 6/27, to harm or rumple something

ugh, that is fishy too! thanks benda!
dsp, it ends like a lot of the words today do...
movieman, you didn't answer my question. you done? b/c if you are, you're getting the bootleg fireworks...
there should be three plural am 5's, hursh
and that should do it for the am's...
oh no, a plural fish????
ok, got. only 2 more a's then! woohoo!
Sorry, Leslie, yes I am done.....
plural of the 4/5 after another word for astounding
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~MOVIEMAN*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* ~
congrats!
ack. I feel like fingers are scraping down my brain today. Not even all these clues are helping.. lol. I think I need to go out for a walk. Am I the only one who can't make progress?
i've found 85 spark and am struggling, alot.
woohoo hursh....do you ahve the an 5/12 that is like the preceding 5/12, a word that looks like japanese cartoons, with a different vowel for the ending?
yes, the pl of an6 that isn't here, indeedy i do have that.
finally i am not totally fishy!
got it finally
do you ahve 9ans?
my 2 a's do not come from the same box, by the way.
do you have 2 ar's
yes and yes
8 ai
do you have 8 ai's?
snap :)
2 ac, 3 ad, ae
do you have 3 azs?
5 at, 2 az
aha, another az!
ah HA! you need an az
ugh, this is gonna suck when i have to finish a's :)
and also you need an at
got the at
lol Leslie...maybe hurshy can help you...my goal is to make sure hurshy gets the a's, then i'm going to take a shower and get going
woot! done with A's!
your mission is complete benda :)
Yay hurshy!!!! congratulations!!!!!
How many words do you have left?
you're my hero :)
29 left
awww....you're doing it listless, so you're MY hero.
Are non-pro players still seeing the stats?
any clues for the az's?
Good luck to you hursh...want any quick hints before i go, maybe for a long word?
well, pseudo-listless.. what we just did nearly approximates the list! :)
yes i only have the ci8, what is the other 8
lol hursh, tis true
no stats for nonpros. i had to pay today!
yeah Ping but it's worth it:) where are you?
ca 8...sent a letter to someone in california
good grief.
na5/12 anyone?
thanks benda, you rock!
Got it
tx
there's also a ca 7/36 that is the plural of the preceding ca 6/24...it's a type of american tropical crocodile, resembling an alligator. my mom had one as a pet when she was a child!
that sounds like a group of islands, benda? have that i think
yep, hurshy
i'm only missing 3 7's.
do you have the d 7?
i mean 2 7's. and no, d7 is one i miss! yay!
meaning texas
li6/21?
do you have the t7?
no, bendamalina - those are the 2 i need then! d and t!
got the t
li 6/21...like what you have for your avatar, with the vowels changed!
benda, your clues are brilliant!
lol, thanks ping :D
what's the 2nd letter on the d7
d7..to establish boundaries, demarcate
de 7
Not getting that li6 clue benda
got, ty!
boys, just add adult male, and plural it
li 6/21: li + males
thanks hurshy, 21 left

ok, good luck to both of you...actually, good luck to everyone!!!! i'm off to a par-tay
have fun benda! thanks for all the clues.
have fun benda, and thanks for all the help!!!!!!
li5/12s, I only have the outer li5 one, clues for the other two please
boysaway...um...one is singular of what you just got
Hurshy, thanks but still missing two li5/12s
ok, good to know, just found one - add 3 letters that sound like when you know the special trick to do something... you have a _____ for it
boys, one is the plural of the capital of peru, or li** beans (although no singular)
we do get the singular, leslie!
oh wait i lied, it takes the singular too
and that's 2 plural fish for me today!! argh.
too many where you can go more than one way and you don't notice the s.
'sok, hursh, i had the sing. but not the plural as well
that leaves me just one L
oh i just got all the L's hursh!
do you have two lo's?
2 LO, 1 LE?
hurshy, special trick?? - what letter would that part of the word start with?
boys, like a knick-k***k
well, the WORD would start with a silent K, but i don't mean you to use that.
that's right hursh, you must be missing an li
paddywhack, give a dog a bone...
AAhh! Now it makes sense, thanks
19 left
got it leslie!
what's a paddywak?
how are you on the O's leslie? i need 2...
you're a babble ma 6/24, hursh
who knows, carlsbad?
i need two as well, hursh. we prob'ly have the same ones.
oh dear, yet another concurrence that hurshy is crazy
yes, it does seem likely that we do leslie.
no, in a good way
:)
say boysaway, you need any O clues?
Hi all! A paddywhack: when you thump an Irishman?
thanks
seems as good an answer as any, amanda
or a police officer maybe - isn't a paddywagon a police car?
yes, it is but a paddywak?????
..or to thresh a rice field?
right so i meant a paddywhack could be when you thump a police officer.... ohh, good one amanda
no hurshy, I have all the Os, thanks
or if he whacks you
rats.
boys! you're holding out on us.
Why?
I try, I try - how many am I looking for today <thinks she probably doesn't want to know>
you don't, ac - 253
253 and it's really a bear
<thinks she was right not wanting to know>
lol, we were looking for two o's - i have og 4, og5, ol5... what am i missing?
Another ol5 and its plural
ol5/10 and ol6/18
GOT the little buggers.
ah, thanks boys
ca5/14 and ca6/24 please?
do these come in a row boys? now you're talking!
yes they appear to hurshy
are there 2 5/14's cause i have one... dog-like
hey all
yes
exxxxxxxxxxxxxxxcellent
hi cathy
hmmm the other one is a pl with no singular, rhymes with a terrorist org that starts with h, boysaway.
and then double the last letter for the 6
woot, that's 16 to go!
thanks hurshy, you've overtaken me, 17 to go
with 93 left, i believe it's time to pull out the trusty list...
LIST!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
all Ms and As!
oh mine are scattered about.
i am stubborn with that list, too
work on the m's first boysaway ;)
okay, first two mi words please - the 5 and 6?
i'll get right on it!
lol, i don't have a lot of time to work on this today, maybe an hour or so more :)
boysaway... don't tell me you are looking for MI5?
this is a real challenge - took me about 4 hours to track down 101 out of 253 - this can easily be a full-time job...typically how many hours should a "pro" finish a grid?
or MI6, come to think of it?? lol
hey all, back for round two :)
lol, mi5/14 and mi6/24 please
bgood... depends how you define a 'pro'.. see... I consider myself a pro and I NEVER finish the grid!
bgood, it really depends on the grid. today's is really hard. there was 47 worder that took only 10 mins for me the other day.
but hursh isn't even considered a pro babbler, i think she's at superstar babbler status
then I'd be worried what I should call myself - I consider myself a rookie and I NEVER finish typing each word...
boys, the only mi 5/14 i have is the plural of a mi 4/6
leslieann, you shouldn't say things like that... you cover me with confusion
got the mi5/14
it usually takes me maybe two hours, and that's with the list
boys - like swamp gas, A thick vaporous atmosphere or emanation, leave off a letter
Hurshy - 47 in 10 minutes is outstanding - what is your salary? I'd have to hire you.
hire me for what? babble?
Naturally.
ah yes.. the 47 worder... I did actually complete that... in 20 mins though, so nowhere near hurshy's time!
wow.... all this time i've been saying it would be great if people would pay us to babble... this is the first offer...
thanks amandacath
OK, I'll try: first name of former Mrs. Sinatra/Previn, plus abbreviation for sadomasochism -- then pluralize it
hahaha!
oh man, i missed a 47-worder? i really should check in every day even if i don't think i'll do them
however, i cannot tell a lie, if you want to hire someone, you should hire sprite.
i've never seen that mi without an a at the end. weird.
oh, thanks erda
you have NOW, hurshy
ack! the dreaded 14!
me either - but it was so tempting, I just had to try it to see if it worked
well yes erda, i have. i got it from amanda's clue :)
at first amanda i was like, methane?
ok.. any clues for the ca8? i think it's ca - I got the ci8
it ends with an ma 6/24, cathy
it's past tense of a ca6, ca + post (as in letters)
had the ca, somebody clue me on the ci?
2 gn, or more than that?
thank you!
military academy ci7, pl for ci8
that's it, hursh
mi5/12 please?
duh - thx hursh!
i take it you don't mean the plural coin boys...?
oh man!
or maybe you do
I have 5 ma words missing but can't face trying to identify which ones they are as there are soooo many
umm... coin boy?
it's a biblical coin amanda, sounds like a talking bird
boys, how about an ma 5/14 - as in ma*** and papi
i have 6 ce, is that all?
oh - that's what I just monkeyed then, I guess
ad6/24?
boys, ad + weight
ad + ma 4/5 like weight.
thanks
11 left
whilst i am stuck on the dreaded 14
short break for me - be back in a little
please, 6 CE, or more?
haha take that i's
first ad5/14?
bye ac
chandler, when he started his new job, boysaway...
nope, you're good on ce's, hursh
then there are 50 zillion ca.
hello to everyone. Just dropping by to see how everyone is doing. I decided not to put my words in the computer, since we have guest in our computer/guest room. A shorter puzzle I might have attempted. Not this one. Maybe tomorrow will be shorter.
hello inge
thanks hurshy
hey inge
whew, passed the dreaded 14.
i have quatradekaphobia
i'll take your word on that
many of our students have leipophonophobia
right, fear of the haiwaiian language
no silly. :) "leipo" is greek for lack. they fear lacking a phone.
cause we take away their cell phones during study hall.
but what does the qu word mean? I see four and ten in the word....
they freak out over it so much i had to make up a word for it.
i think it's fear of the number 14
well i made that up too because triskedekaphobia is fear of 13.
second am5/12 please
ugh, za5?
good grief!!1
za + "mamma ***!"
all the 5/12 are pl boys
ah, one of those "i typed everything but that" moments
you see, one horrid day i had 14 left and i had to get the list. so 14 is now the dreaded number.
of the proliferation of words there is no end...
I dont know how anybody could do it WITHOUT the list!!!
*****FIREWORKS****** for RUMPLESTILTSKIN even though I didn't get any from Mr_God
when I have only 14 left I rejoice...with or without list

Well, I have to go now. Happy babbling to all of you!
boys, only one i have is japanese cartoons, change last letter to different vowel
boysaway, both are like japanese cartoons but with different vowels :)
*facepalm*
Lucky, the only way I have been able to do that is to shut down computer and start up again. Everything came back up where I left.
there was... a mighty... duel. it ra6 all over. the loser...ran off alone, while the winner followed those footprints toward gilder...
ty rumple I'll try it
boysaway, the missing an's are both Freudian terms Begin to write animal bot don't finish, then stry again but this tim eend with a different vowel

Lucky, this happened to me on Thursday, and I was never credited with the full complement of words I had clicked. it makes one see red, and Dr_God goes calmly on saying "there, there" (well, not actually, but that's the effect.
Hi, marigold!!
ok gotta take a break. see you guys later!
thanks leslie, I'm just missing am ma5/12 then
HI, scatty, still have 161 to find
boys - i just gave you 2 clues for that
Perhaps, to be positive, Lucky, you might email the good doctor and try your luck--could be better than mine was
Hetty thanks, I don't feel so alone now I have only 103 words left and am stuck where to look.... think I'll call it a night1
Got it! Finished, what happened to the fireworks?
2 di6, or more?
You'll have to make do with ours, boys--{{{{FIREWORKS FOR BOYSAWAY}}}}
THANK YOU
Just 2 hurshy
while stuck at 149 and scratching my head - I come to wonder - are there "babble" tournaments?
ty boysaway
today is NOT the day to be wondering such things
today is a day on which we curse babble and its tormenting grip upon us
tormenting is a very conservative word
we weep and mourn and gnash our teeth and clothe ourselves in sackcloth and ashes
haha
and keep on playing!!
how does one gnash one's teeth, anyway?
any clues for ti 6?
well of course we keep on playing, that's part of the curse. we're like the pirates of the caribbean.
a comedian needs to have good ti6
never saw that movie, hurshy, is it worth renting?
good thing we don't get penalized for wrong word entries!
Hetty, m**** dr God hope he works miracles for me!
hmmm, i dunno peri, i thought it was alright, but not splendiferous. (we don't bgood)
thnx Hursh
oh you said that, it wasn't a question, silly me
and how many other ti's have you found, chrissie (says hurshy, just making ever-so-casual conversation)
peri - pirates part 2 will be released in the summer - i guess
ok, but I guess I would need to see the first pirates first, I will look in the free library
up to 100 words, time for a break, bbl
back for a bit ... the grid hasn't gotten any better
Can anyone m*** me the 7's begin letter list?
I have all th three ti's Hurshy, noow working on tas
OK, I got spoiled with the free tile stats for awhile, now that they went away, I decided to go PRO, I missed the tile stats!
oooo cat, i love your icon!
tres interessant, chrissie...
Good fo you, Lucky. Now we'll expect you to live up to your name. As fas as I can tell there are 16 7letter words
TY featherbee :)

yes yvo he decided to leave.
mahalo = thanks
ty hurshy
aloha = hello or good bye
i thought he liked babbling
oh i thought mahalo was just like well wishing of any sort
Why did Mikey go away, hursh?
um... how to answer that...
i'll have to look into it....back shortly
I can find sa 6,21
good for you chrissie!
lol, I meant Cant
my bad
mikey expressed a feeling that perhaps babble was not the community for him.
sa + vowel + short for 60 seconds other sa6 is prophet from the bible with 4th letter changed to a different vowel
websters has mahalo = thank you but hawaiians probably have extented meanings to the word....thank you is kind of cut and dried.....
any clus?
*clues
thank you hurshy
in other words it was not gay enough
i do not believe he expressed any sentiment of that sort, nor do i think that would be an accurate reflection of his feeling.
ok good enough for me i still miss his banter
hello everyone. jetx- aloha, my girlfriend is from Kaua'i- we're both in new york
Nice....I'm from Seattle....just over here surfing and hanging out
I thought it might have been something along those lines with Mikey ... possibly someone suggested that he contributed a bit too much banter?
cool- you can surf in seattle? or do you mean online surfing
well, looks like I have to quit for now with 50 left
gotta get to work
not exactly, amanda. of course any interested parties can certainly peruse the archived chat logs.
later guys
I may just have to do that...
bye chrissie :)
Actually, we surf on the coast of washington lots of good waves but really harsh conditions. Over here the waters warm and waves are too fun
very cool...i didn't know that
me neither jetx
sigh. please, are ther 15 mi's, or more?
...my second hobby is surfing the internet.....
are you in NYC?
Is this a tough grid...or did I just wake up stupid today??
that, would work in seattle without harsh conditions.
I just got a NYjets hat....it's too cool
it's a VERY tough grid.
i think it's tougher than usual
there's a hawaiian festival going on right this weekend in ny- pacifika, i think it's called
THX, I thought it was just me !!
whoa....nice...
the hawaiians are cool.....really interesting culture
anyone - 15 mi's, or more?
only have 12 so far, hursh, so I'm no help there
yay jets!
hmm, well how many ma's you got amanda?
16 hurshy
totally, i've met quite a few here already
I'm sure not enough - hold on...
thanks yvo
sigh, 20 ma's here...isn't that rare?
scratching my head over sa6/21 and sa7/32 -- if it hadn't been for hurshy -- never, never.....
21
there's are pretty big hawiian community in Seattle...
well there appear to be 31 ma's
<large sigh>
GOLLY GEE
Apparently in the past Hawaiians and Northwest Indians had contact with each other.....
sorry i thought you wanted MI
and ithought it was going to be hard to get 8 z's. but i still don't haev those and only 1/2 the ma's.
i did yvo, i was figuring out how many of each. :)
we want everything, yvo!
zams
i have a question for anyone who knows the answer: knowing in advance one doesn't have a lot of time to spend on a grid, is it better to start a puzzle or not start a puzzle as far as rankings go?
yes, my feelings precisely erda.
i have 21 ma's
NOT, bryan.
a-ha, that's what i thought...thanks Hurshy! i didn't start today's
can't wait to see the word list tomorrow : )
BryanC as far as im concerned ,you can tell by my age ,im doing it for fun and keep my mind sharp , ratings are for the real babblers
these last 4 are killing me.
haha... you've got the right idea probably
I just don'T have the patience for this one - I'm going to the list
hurshy, not that i'm very good but what do you need. i might accidently have something
Bryan, where do you find yesterday's word list???
we all should think like you yvo
archives, yesterday's date
sometimes i surprise myself
well i don't know exactly, luwanda, cause i'm not using the list. but i need a ca, a ta, an ma, an mi, and 2 of them are 5's and 2 of them are 6's. pick out any weirdos you may have. :)
all I get in archives is the complete chat list (which takes forever to load...)
i think we ALL play for fun, we just have different definitions of fun. when i say "tormenting grip", you see, that means fun.
to me its alot of fun and ill walk away, and dont feel i must finnish to keep up ,i have learned alot
hurshy, when i don't use the list, i'll know i'm a real babbler! exactly, fun is exquisite torture for some
there you go yvo - more wisdom...
yo yo yo
erda there should be a view word list link there
do you have ma5/16 a disease my grandfaterh's dog would get on the farm
yup.
whats ac5/12?
i knew that was too easy for you
ac + mr. fleischer
acrit
eep oops
ta 6/21 please?
followed, jeffer
Hursh, you got mi = boy's name and sorghum?
thanks hurshy
jeffer: ta 6/21 hint:
good luck all...got to go
near complete ta****
good golly amanda... boy's name AND sorghum
is that all one word?
it's two, two, two treats in one!
same word, two meanings
so you refer to mi 4/5, the boy from phantom tollbooth
ah sorry hursh, shoulda said second one ...
huh?
jeffer, i could KISS you!
huh?
there's ANOTHER TA 6/21!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ok
yep, I suppose (can't remember the name) - unless we have two mi4/5 boys, which is unlikely, but never impossible
so the clue is ... ?
ma - to tear up - with the last to letters
well i don't know yet let me find it first
and the kiss ...?
*MWAAAAAH*
luwanda - um, a-what now?
ok don't forget the hint
do you know for sure that it comes second, cause otherwise you'll be waiting a long time
next-to-last ta word
bgood2 wa that hint for the second ta 6/21?
love the phantom tollbooth ref :)
ma6/27 - to tear up - then reverse the last 2 letters
oh, oh yes, i have those, luwanda, thank you.
GOOD GOLLY
jeffer, so this comes right before ta 6/27
yup hurshy
2nd ta6/21 - Japanese word for a type of soy sauce.

Hursh - Thank the Lord for that! *Mops brow with relief.*
and now can you tell me are there 3 ca5, or 4?
i'm too bad at this to consider suicied -lol
Somebody please tell me what the last am6/21 is - I'm not awake enough to monkey all the possibilities
am + ms. skeeter from harry potter
Hursh - 3 x ca5.

alrighy then, i miss a ca6.

Hello again everyone :)
hiya farie
hi faerie
Hi - Hurshy I've got the ca's what are you looking for?
i have no in's hint please?
one of the ca 6's. i have 2 singulars that have 7 letter plurals with them, and i have ca + weight
Jeffer - in + what your hand is attached to then make it plural
and jeffer, 6th book in anne of green gables, anne of *****side
{{{faerie}}}
ty faerie and thanks hurshy
ca + what the postal worker brings.
i have that one faerie, that has a pl.
{{{Shorty}}}
Hurshy right after your 2nd ca 4/6 drop the last vowel and add with you talk into like on the radio
THANK YOU!!!!
very welcome :)
now i just need two m5's. one ma and one mi. one's a 5/12 and one's a 5/14.
This particular puzzle seems to be just a lot of pain and not much fun
oh but erda, it's like the man who was banging his head against a wall and someone asked him why and he said "because it feels so good when i stop"
Hurshy take the postal work and add another vowel to the end of it.

GOOD MORNING
Just popped back with a new icon to celebrate Finnish rockers, Lordi, winning the Eurovision Song Contest and at last bringing something theatrical, rock and fun to it. They truly are 'monsters of rock'. LOL. Wonder if they'll turn up at The Monster of Rock Festival at Milton Keynes on June 3rd? Me and my daughter will be there to see them if they do. Mind you, Alice Cooper, who's headlining it, along with Deep Purple, Ted Nugent and Queensryche, might ask them if they pinched his song, 'Poison'!

aleksia clearly needs attention and hasn't realized that chat isn't 100% real time
it was cool
naw, i've seen it do that before, i don't think it was aleksia's fault, chat glitch
Dino - it would seem so.
My sister was on a jump rope team when she was in grade school
I have AC 1, AD 3, AE 1, AI 8, AM 10, AN 5, AR 1 and AZ 2 ... can someone point me where I'm missing most?
jump rope for heart participant here
Mind you, the site IS playing up a bit at the moment.
I was on a rope team in Jr. Hi - climbing ropes and doing stunts.

ci7/36 & plural 8 = a fortress near a town or city. Think of the title of an A.J. Cronin novel, 'The Ci*****''.
aleksia, who's mean?
need some help was what I was trying to type
every 1 but u
ACK!!!!
church
don't worry about us, sometimes people's browsers get stuck and they end up saying hello about 20 times in a row, which stalls the chat
i have no idea how, but my lickety list refreshed@
we just have to wait it out till they can fix it, and in the meantime, we often joke about it
not personal
just us killing time
church isn't in the board - duh - ci8 is a plural word - think stronghold if the clue church didn't help
aleksia, i defended you, if you'll scroll down
i got it
...and I tried to help you fix it. Scroll down.

yeah, thanks
well, 116 left-spent the day at a meditation retreat instead of playing babble. When will I get my priorities straight! Anyway, I think some sleep is in order tonight, so obviously am not going to finish. But i woud love to finish the 7's before knocking off. Does anyone have a list of them?
ive onli got 50 words
Hang on, Eva, and I'll put one together for you.
that's ok, this grid is really hard today
feather, it is!
thanks a lot Jac!
I have 52 left, going to list in 2 more words
i was lulled into a false sense of security by yesterday's grid...that one wasn't bad at all
anymore hints?
carl, looking for ci or did you find it?
for which one carlsbad?
i still didn't finish it though
I foulnd the ci one
thanks
it was a big one though...i'd love to see a smaller one tomorrow!
yeah
one of the 7s is from the 1970s and early '80s American TV show - That's AM*
don't know the show dino-but if it's the one containing something for rats to find their way through then I have it.
It is
and there is a VERY popular set of letters in that word that are pretty much in all of the 7s
yup
but not necessarily the ending
List of 7's: am7/60, at7/32, ca7/36, ca7/36, ci7/36, cr7/60, de7/36, ma7/44, ma7/40, ma7/44, ma7/44, mi7/44, mi7/44, sa7/32, sa7/32, ti7/40.
wow, thanks Jacula!
am7/32 - mind boggling.
Forever grateful Jac! Now have to go off hunting for a while. Might need to come back for clues in a while
I don't have one single at word
can someone help me with one that might jump start my brain
brb
even a good fish one?
many of them have a 2 point letter right away
nrkii - A fish one is part of the carp family - da4/6.
had the da, tx jac
nrkii-a hindu term for soul, essence, spirit, then the plural
at 6/21....instead of atta boy, think older...at* ***

Nrkii - Sorry! I need new specs, I reckon. I thought you said you didn't have A single word, not a single 'at' word.:-/
feather, you get it?
jac, no worries
I was happy not to get any fish-deserving words in the AT's
Anyway, back to my 7-letter word clues, if they are needed...
sweety, golda's last name was me, not ma ;) she went to the HS i teach at
if you were hinting at ma*** family, i have that one
at7/32 - Hindu for the individual essence or soul.
i meant i'm getting lost on which ones to check off!
but it sounds like the MA word, no?
true
ca7/36 - US crocodilians like alligators but smaller.
ca7/36 - sounds a bit like the type of knitted armour it is - a knight's neck protector or the neck-piece of a Mediaeval hood.
jacula-usually once I have the 2nd letter lists i can get them righ away, but this list has me stumped for about half of them. Any clues for the at7
ma 5/14 that comes right after what my son calls me?
Eva - see my clue at 9:14.
feather, Auntie MA** but insert third vowel before last letter
AT7/32 is an anagram of 'a man sat'.
would help if i had a clue which auntie you were referring to!
rhymes with "not different"

jac, I don't get the second ca 7
can't seem to get there
nm, got it
ci7/36 - a fortress near a city or town. Title of an A.J. Cronin novel, 'The Ci*****'.
once again, nrkii ignores an S
cr7/60 - driving mad.
missing the ma7/40 and one of the ma7/44's. Have the two that are disfiguring
some help w/ t
ma7/40 - could be the alternate spelling of the clothes wringer? The surname of Joe Ma**** (played by Mark Little) way back when the Aussie soap, 'Neighbours' first began?
that doesn't help me
shavuah tov! (a good {new} week!)
hi everyone ! left off last night with 100 to go, didn't seem like alot then, it sure does now!
hey helenkeller
Carlsbad, if there isn't more than one ma7, then it's what happened to a car in a SEVERE wreck - it got ma*
ma7/44's - 1 = disfiguring or injuring. 2 = plural clothes wringers (alternate spelling). 3 = all twisted and broken and out of shape. 4 = a root crop (yellow beet) mainly grown as cattle feed.
hey helen, I feel exactly the same
Hi Helen. I'm here for a while to clue. I was doing clues for the 7-letter words, but I've lost my thread now. LOL.
ok, another ma 5/12, after the beet
hi helen!
i already had that one
i don't have the beet
feather, did you get the ma 5/12 that is an obsession
ooo, the beet is a compound word...male + shiny yellow metal
nrkii - for the beet think of a male and then what the mining rush was about.

hi aleksia
i could use some
Jacula, could you do me a huge favor? Your list has slsipped below the horizon and every time I try to go to the older chat log my computer freezes up and I have to reboot. Could you possibly copy it and post it again?

hello nrkii
I'm still missing 3 of them

though I did find a very cool mi 5/14 and 6/24 pair just now
tell me help me
mi6/30 is prefix for the center + what your foot is attached to
ma 6/24, not what you did to a letter?
Dr_God/Jamie - Haven't checked if you're on line right now but this problem with checking back on the chatlog not only stymies clue-finding but also the whole ethos of being 'a family'.
silly words
thanks mac!
yw :)
jac, though it allowed us to show our teamworking skills (scroll down)
has any 1 else got the 8 letter word
later ya'll
yes, ty mac
by carl
so now what about those sa7's?
Cant think what happens at a party. an ma word?
yes aleksia, there are 2 of them.
mi, when you chat with people, you MI****
help--my party days are long ago and far away
at7? ti7?
hetty-rhymes with how your leg feels when it falls asleep
i think what happens at a party is an mi word
I was so happy when I found de4/6+lower limb (and its plural) in the UK morn., many hours ago. They weren't allowed though! DRAT!
mi6/27, and mi 7/44
ti 7 is plural of 6/27 jee
Jac-any clues for the 2 sa7's?
Eva, if mum is the word, how come it's ma?
I don't have the ti6 either.
it's mi
either
Jee, when you show up just when people want you to, they say you have perfect TI****
hetty-the leg sensation begins with ti-

(sorry, should have pointed that one out to you before)
lol, got it! good clue
sa7/32 is the plural of a word meaning noodle.
I've never had a leg sensation beginning with ti. I'll just give up on the party line and go back to lickety
time to get a snack and take a break, my brain's stalling
just two more 7's and I can go to sleep a relatively contented woman.....she whimpers, hoping for clues to the sa7's
nrkii are u a female...r u 37 and r u from new jersey
thats good
aleksia, yes yes yes
sa7/32 is an anagram of 'mini ass'. LOL.
kool
eva, one of the sa'7 is plural of a word that sounds like a male biblical sort of name
hetty- rhymes with another name for santa, kris kr*****
how about at7?
guess what everyone
Eva, I can give you oine sa7. Think of the boy Sam*** who slept in the tempole and change his second owel to an"i"
jee, think of the piece of furniture in front of your easy chair, but use an A at the beginning
what?
i have a word thats worth 60 points
at7, at* boy! plus plural for men
The other sa7/32 is a hot Sahara wind that sounds like a Biblical man's name in plural. However, the last 2 vowels need changing.
thanks nrkii, wouldn't have gotten it without you
Kaurie, of course I've had that sensation... not in my legs however. Thanks!
okay, got the noodle one, now need to figure out the other.
hetty do u have 4 children
aleksia, nice!
what 60 points
aleksia, may be better to accept people's profiles at face value
okay sorry
np
i just find it interesting....ppl r from different places....some r older and some r younger
completely confused. The only desert wind i can think of is a hamsim. And the biblical guys should be samson, but there aren't two vowels at the end to switch around?
Eva - for the sa word - think of the chap who had his hair chopped off by Delilah.... Those are your first 3 letters. The last 3 letters are an anagram of an Hawaiian flower garland.
eva, different male name starting with SA
I just went pro today, may I ask where it will tell you the days theme, that I have heard some mention.
dangit.. zaniac is so a word
Incidentally, Eva, Sa**** was Hannah's son in the Bible.
Not the hair chopped off chap, but another who has a book of his own.

Cat9x - Welcome. Babbler's handbag generally shows the day's themes, not that we've been sticking to them since the site switch.
I just started using them this past week. I think they're kind of fun.
TY both!
Well, I haven't ben theming since the switch. LOL. I'm celebrating a heavy metal band winning the Eurovision Song Contest at the moment.
can someone help withthe first am 5/12 please?
Got them!!!! Thanks everyone. Was just blocked on the other biblical name for a while-kept thinking of the hair guy. Okay, I'm going to be very disciplined and do what I said and quit now.....put the computer down, Eva. Pull the plug. Take your hand off the mouse. You can do it. I know you can.
I know you can.
g'night Eva
bye eva
I believe many of the good people of Finland were not so happy that this so-called 'Satanic' band were chosen by the majority of their population to represent them... Maybe they are just to buttoned-up t recognise a bit of theatre when they see it?
Eva - Sorry! I stood on your plug wire. Must've pulled it out! Erm... sorry! LOL.
some people take things way too seriously at times Jacula :)
Good night everyone. Thanks for the round of childhood memories. Oh, just one more...did I make him up or does anyone remember a cartoon character named, I think, Gerald McBoing, boing?
He never spoke, just made noises.
night Eva :)
Not me, Eva, but maybe it was past my childhood or parenting time? Or a US thing?
Gerald McBoinboing is back on TV, too
doesn't ring a bell here, Eva
Have a fully charged battery Jac, so it didn't stop me(-:
There is some kids' cartoon show that has him on.
Golux-where did you find it?!!!
I really don't recall. My kids were watching it one day
Jac, it must be my old eyes, but I cannot find an anagram for "mini ass" in the enable dictionary.I found the other sa7 at once thro familiarity with Hannah's son, but the ass business passes me by (ha ha)
Bring back 'Stressed Eric', that's what I say! He was hilarious.
Google it, though, I bet you'll find it
Thanks again and a final goodnight
help on first am and last am please?

Hetty - just change the letters around until you find the word by monkey typing. If that doesn't work, try typing 'anagram server' into your browser.

Hi StidMama. Good luck!
Hiya stid, I've got 28 left
stuck on the AMs though.
I'm switching icons presently...
nrkii - I realise that but there are children on this site.
stid, you starting from scratch right now?
starting right now, just loaded Lickety's list but want to get 100 words before I start entering them there.
nrkii - did you get am5/12 - fliud around the fetus? - kinda
Jacula, forgive me for being dense, but not getting the point.
good luck, it's a pain in the tukus today
Go stid go!
Luwanda, thank you!
:-) thanks all, have 5 words already only 248 to go!
nrkii - never mind. It's just the Mary Whitehouse finally coming out in this ex-hippy.
good luck
Stid, so glad to see you back. How was Seattle? Hard drive fixed? I wouldn't urge you to begin this brute. Help I see you're started. Well no doubt you can pull it off. I'm still sweating over the grid
I'm probably not going to get 253 words this time, but I did want to stop in and say hello, this time from the east side of the little pond...
Lovely day today... I am not worried about finishing, but hate to see a grid go by and not try to get some of it!
Jacula, I'm so sorry if I said something bad or offensive. I totally missed it if I did.
Stidmama - that'sa the best part of the grid, when you first see it and the words all flood in.
Anyone for a **** gin fizz?

It's been the greatest temptation to affect a silly fake Scottish accent when talking to people...
douglas, 1:26 today
Jacuka, I appreciate the wordsmith tip and I've happily chased anagrams for the past 10 minutes to no avail. Bless you for trying to help
Melonhead - a'min worcestershire.
I'm at the Hotel Malmaison. The cab driver told me that the building housing the hotel was a brothel once upon a time...
aaehhauw.
Hetty, love, I've forgotten what the word was now. Remind me, please...
OOOH watch out, Douglas. Time warps you know
Douglas - Are you hoping to be haunted, or not? LOL.
Jac is now singing that old classic from The Rockey Horror Show....
I'm just sayin' what the cab driver said...I'm not looking for any succubal action if you know what I mean, and I think you do...
Or even the Rocky Horror Show! Damn it, Janet!
It's a brute of an sa7. Not Hannah's sonmisspelt, th eother. Wind from Sahara, you said, but I've never been there . Then you said it was an angram of mini ass. Noe of the ones listed in wordsmith are on the grid ss far as I can see
"olde" isn't in the dictionary?!?
mi 5/14 that's next to the flaky stones? nrkii, have that one yet?
Douglas, you've just reminded me of that loively Monty Python sequence of Michael Palin and the succubi. . .
macrame isn't in the grid...
Douglas - I think Frankenfurter just got you. LOL.
i need a clue for ge6/30
I did try and do the 16 x 16 Sudoku puzzle in The Independent...

Oops! Yes. I gave the ca6/30 clue to you earlier, didn't I, Luw.
Thanks, Jac, got it at last, tho' I cant say i really understand the "masculine" part, Staring with the oersonal pronoun was the key
tx JeeWhiz - i gotta remember to go counterclockwise once in a while
yep
jac, thanks for the ce!
A mistake? I'm talking about 1 1/2 ounce gin 1/2 ounce Cherry Heering brandy 1/4 ounce Cointreau 1/4 ounce Benedictine 4 ounces pineapple juice 1/2 ounce lime juice 1/3 ounce grenadine dash bitters

Would I want to be? Alas, I am not...
Dougie - if you know what I am talking about just say, 'yes'. LOL.
What do **** have to do with St. Louis, anyway?
I can be dumb as well as addicted! LOL actually, have set a small goal of 100 without list then as many as I can... that way I won't go completely crazy. I hope.
Pardon?
American football hint, Jacula...
Stidmama - I just set out to get as many as I can listless.
any hints on the ol words?
I'm already entering in words I've already entered
Douglas - I have no intereest in UK football since Georgie Best stopped playing, let alone the kind of 'football' played in US. Sorry.
ol5/12 is a golden *****
I was expecting oleid to be a word
Did you get the other 2 OLs?
Oh dear! Douglas is re-entering.Not grid wortd today, though. LOL.
Ping, I could use the other two OLs...
I remember reading some blog posts about Georgie's demise. So self-destructive...
Douglas - for that ol word, change the last consonant.
stid, you are always rescuing the rest of us. holy role reversal!
shared cluing the real heart of babbling... :-)

Stidmama - EXACTLY!
jetX from hawaii
Stidmama - plural that last word I gave you.

Got it, Jacula, thanks!
hetty -- TY that was the fish I was missing!
Other words from that corner are og**, what mean do when women are scantily clad in Summer.

Past tense of what I said before Douglas started singing.

And then the 2 oily words you've all got.

Does anybody have a clue for the ol6/18?
ge4/6 - sets like a jelly.

anyone have either za?

who, me?
yay 103 words and to the LIST I go!
wow stid, that was fast!
I still need the third ma7/44, and the ma7/40. Does anyone have those? Stidmama probably needs those words also...
i'm impressed
Douglas, if you arte not the Dougie that is the cocktail master on Roni's yacht, I will be am6/39. Not a grid word but near to one!

ma 7/40, plural of ma 6/27, and that one is the same as another ma 6/27, with last two letters reversed

I'm sitting here in Hong Kong struggling with this grid.

Any clues for the 1st am5/15? I can't see it for anything.
