Please don't take me too seriously. Good night all

His word. Mine is much warmer. LOL
sigh... these big puzzles have been a bit daunting
i kinda like 'the outfit' - makes us sound dangerous :)

lol - i play a game called tangleword on iwin.com & it's the exact oppposite of this - same grid, but find as many words as you can in a certain amount of time - 30 sec, 2 min, 5 min is tops ( 5 min is like an eternity to me,lol)
yay, a 6 that isn't a plural!

lol - i just got it, have a good nite :)
that was the clue - i'm tricky.
hi sprite and monkey
tadah! & g'nite hk.
hi sprite -happy birthday to your 'little' guy :)
Thnx helen :)
alright, I'm'a go to the list. stuckish at 77.
oh, it sure is hard to concentrate on this while nursing my teething little vampire baby!
Lol, I know, that HURTS!
i'm stuck at 145, so i'm going to change my icon & maybe come back with fresh eyes
you'd think they'd make something to go around the babies teeth so they don't hurt mom...and can nuse longer.
wow..145? that's nice. I'm surprised I got to 110...but I htink I'm going to call it anight.
you're nt kiddin'!
hard to make something that wouldn't interfere with the nursing, though
stuck at 90
Ah, nice Sw8/60!
yea i'm at 100!
yeah..the sw 8 was the first 8 I found too.
thanks sprite! that gave me 4!
ok, well i don't think that took long enough
lol helen ;)
wow - i don't have any 8's or 7's
ok, got one now, tx
If the animals I keep at home are more housebroken than yours, wouldn't you say mine were Pe7? Won't take, though :(
hrm. I thought that was a naughty word
huh, an rh today.
hee, I like the ti6. they're off to see the wizard...
sprite...your animal clue is tricking me
too bad personal pronoun + cow sound isn't a word :p

130 - but a long way to go - must go to work! can't wait for hols! bbl ;)
Dippnall, hi, long time no see. And bye!
should go sprite - mainly play at length when not working!
Wise enough! See you around, have fun working.
I dunno how that's a clue either... think we had it the last puzzle I did too, though. up to 100 now! :)
Yes Ornith, that could very well be, that in8 has been in a recent grid. Builds on in6/18, in + something you can hear.
yeah, I just got the set of four :0
:) even

Hello everyone!
Good Morning
hi Preethi
Hello Preethi
ugh! i dont know what's worse - my frenzy feeding baby with the new teeth or the jealous and bored dog desperately trying to get my attention!
Hi Preethi
tins
afternoon all
sorry!
Hello
hi every1
hi star and arisha and egm
hi
jhvjkyk
whee! over 150 without having to ask for clues! I think I'm finally getting better at this.
146 listless and I am going to bed....... good night and good luck all
wow joey! goodnight!
ornith-you are way ahead of me
I started at the flip, star
iv opnly got 7 woreds
How many words in the grid today?

251 preethi
ornith where are you?
hello everyone, how goes?
star, I'm in Philly
hi jaiel
hi jaiel
hi orinth, star.. is it a fun one today?
aahh.. Im at 27. Long way to go
I got about 75 without going to the list, so either I'm improving or there's lots of words in there people actually use :P
lol
:)
I'm at 96
hi orinth, i'm new, can you tell me what list you're talking about? weird words?? i'm still missing 185 :(
ornith, rather. sorry
leanne, if you look down under the stats, there are links - one says lickety's babble clues
it'll have clues like an6/18... a word that starts with an, has 6 letters, and is worth 18 points
(4-letter words are worth the points on the tiles, 5-letters x2, 6-letters x3, and so forth)
thanks ornith, i could use the help :)
np. knowing that way of referring to words makes it easier to ask for clues, too :)
is that clue site automatically generated or what?
I think it must be, he has it up within like half an hour of the flip
obviously, i guess. never mind
thanks
Morning all!
morning matty
morning matty :)
ornith how many 8s have you got?
I think 4 right now
both ce's, which are plurals on fairly weird words that start with ce4/5...
the in, which is built of the in6/18 which is built of a to4/4...
and the sw, which is built off the sw5/18
ty
yw
Those ce clues are doing my head in - I have a ce 4/5 - but...
they're uncommon words; one is a plural spanish coin, and the other is...um...
Is the ce 4/5 another type of coin, or is there another?
a plural of a unit of weight used in Eastern Europe.
the ce4/5 I'm referring to is a coin (or the amount one is worth)
and yes, it's the only one
OK, got the spanish coin...
I think I got the other one by monkeytyping everything that looked like a word. sounds like it might be a person.
Ta - got those now, Ornith. BTW, is your username from the Dragonriders of Pern?
clue for in 6?
Nope, it's short for ornithopter
Oh. Silly me ;)
Nah, I know why you thought so :P
which in6, preethi?
i got the in6 which rhymes with the c8
how many in 6 's are there in teh grid?
that may be the other one. there's an in6/21 and an in6/18
clues for that?
I have the 6/18 but not the 6/21, is what I mean about "other one", sorry.
in6/18 is "to chant", or in + to4/4. 6/21, if you have a clue, give me one! :P
the in6/21 has to do with walking...
got it, thanks
preethi, did you get it?
great orinth :)
Morning everyone! Looks like an interesting grid this one.
morning kitty
morning KittyV
i need to go to sleep but i keep seeing words
lol onyx
;)
jonah
oops..
morning/night y'all
good night Onyx
nite onyx
womp
rents
oops
hehe, great nonword jaiel
(it won't take woot either btw)
we all do it.
he he sorry, hand-eye coordination is not so great this morn
I agree, that would be a great word Jaiel!
yep, tried woot already ;)
"womp", very onomatopoetic :D
tried that one too kitty! you never know here..))
I know, typing in words that could never be real does pay off at times
shoom either :/
at least my vocabulary grows a bit when the monkey typing pays off ;)
at least my vocabulary grows a bit when the monkey typing pays off ;)
and yeah, I get a lot of words that I think are foreign or bound prefixes or just plain silly
shoom is the romanization for the hebrew word for garlic
I hate when I monkeytype something, look it up, and it has no definition though!
I still remember "chad" from one of first goes at Babbling
heh. I think of shoom as a noise.
sort of like woosh
sounds like it orinth
I HATE words that begin with vowels.
took me ages t get that and now that I know what it means (the little bits of card/paper that come from punching holes) I've actually been using it in real life
I used to not know that word, before a certain election.
and yeah, matty, the vowel ones are hard.
there's a naughty ar4, if that helps.
Got that one - first vowel word I got, surprise surprise!
lol
I've gotten a few O words
got that one first too!
learned form yesterday not to look for odd ones first but to start with easy ones
yeah, I have some of the o's today.
how many words today pls ?

Hi everone! I'm supposed to be asleep, but that isn't working, so I'm supposed to be working on my class for tomorrow, but, well...
hi deutsch!
hi deutsch
Hi ornith and Jaiet!
*Jaiel* sorry
Hi Deutsch!
:)
Hello Deutsch!
ciao Deutsch
Hi Matty, Kitty and star1!
an 7/28 anyone (both of them!_)
those I don't have either - best I have is the 6/21
Don't even have that one yet...
I just have a 7/44
an 7's? *groans* no clue
an6/21 is a fancy word for alienation or social instability
kitty, a 7/44? not an an7/44, I hope? there's none on the list...
an7 = an4/4 + comparative ending
gm, btw LOL
it's a sw
kateq, I don't think I have that an4/4
the other an 7 is the plural of an 6/18 --to bless with oil in church
Small bug
an4/4 = little critters at picnics
is mr p on
that's not the 4/4 with the ending, is it, kateq?
haven't seen him egm
yes it is Ornith
oh, right, a *7*. got it now. ty.
ok
how many words for this grid peeps?
251 avaneko
251 today
Geez.
thanks both of you.
hi avaneko
heya jaiel
:)
but it's a nicer one than yesterday, I've already gotten 100 words in less than an hour, when yesterday it took me 4 hours to get this far
lol.
Sounds good.
yeah, I'm at 197 and it's been less than 3 hours, and I haven't been asking for help almost at all
Gonna try to catch some Zs. Nite all!
nite deutsch
nite deutsch )
g'nite Deutsch

Night Night.
Well done and good night Ornith!
bye orinth, thanks for the help (and the fish;)
Arg. It's so funny how the grid will take some french words but not others.
Can someone clue me on my missing h please :) I have so far, 4/6, 6/24. 4/5, 5/12, 4/5, 5/14, 6/24, 5/12, and 4/6, TY :)

Good morning all. Just about to start on what looks like a nice grid.
morning haz
it is a nice one today :)
hi cat & sprite
hi jaiel :) Moring Haz
babbling and getting dressed at the same time, busy day today :) Hi all, I'll be on and off today because it is my son's birthday. Visitors in a short while.
happy birthday son! how old?
He is 10 now :)
Happy B'day Sprite's son!
hey hey! getting to be big enough to babble ;P
ar6/18 - I've been monkey typing away...but...
True jaiel, only the english language is a bit much for him still ;)
matty - some1 clued it earlier - to bless with oil in church
Isn't that An, not Ar?
know what you mean sprite. does he play with you sometimes?
ah, sprite you're right about the an - sorry
Yes, he is proud as can be when he finds a word.
with an icon like yours, he must be a real cutey ;P
Morning all, Today's grid is definately an improvement on yesterday.
morn fmitch
Hi jaiel
Good morning FMitch - it's a fun grid!
Yah - I've got the an - I'm after the ar/6...
Matty: Sounds like a comic with the last name of Hall..He was in the movie "Coming to America"
There are sw8/60 but no m***ers!
Would that was true in real life Haz!
oof, my mouse just died! got to get a new one... see you all for now. be back later. :)
goodness me, people I recognise!
Hi Haz, it is! ... and there is the type of st5 (p6/30) that comes from volcanes which are also in the grid.
Hi kukana
Hey Sue and Kukana!
hi
hey!
Hello there! You'll find lots of words today.
yes we already have!
So can you give US some clues?
there is one that is name starting with j
LOL
what??
harem
Thank you - you can have two of them (add an s)
... and that my give away word for today doh!!
Every man's dream is to have one...
The dream yes but the reality probably not ;)
hm words does everyone have?
I have 76 so far.
80
141
132
Hello Haz
124 and fairly stuck now
wow!! i only just started but i have 22!! (laugh)
Hi Fmitch and Sprite
Hello Preethi. Got to catch up with all these high achievers.....
there's lots of useful endings so several words have three or four variations
Haz have you got decent weather for the RDA today? do they ride indoors or out? Hi Preethi
The sun is shining today - so far. We have both indoor and outdoor arenas so they'll probably ride outside today.
Still struggling with the ar/6
Oh thats great there is the choice, bit dank here but clearning up. I must be off shortly as have banking and things to do, but sure to see you later :)
matty, I found it monkey typing. Like the second ar/4 with a negative word on the end
Have a good day - babbling two days in a row - things are looking up!
can people please give some clues. I am stuck!!
morning all
pi4/5 and pi5/12 - measurement of liquid (beer/milk)
take the slightly rude ar 4/4 and add a negative = ar6
Good morning oggy.
ar6 = ar 4/4 + not yes
Where's the sunshine!! it has rained on and of fo the last two weeks. if we get a hose pipe ban ill scream!! lol
sn5/10 - a means of trapping animals. sn plus I am, you ***, he is.
were r u m3
Essex its cloudy again !!
im in liverpool an its really nice here at the minute
ok jealouse now lol xxx
k off to the Gym have fun peeps, back for more punishment later lol xx
Tssss, jealous because of cloudy. It is raining here, with hail! End of May! And my son's birthday. I am green with envy :)
well it's 35C here, we're having a heatwave early! I'd much prefer rain...
Let's switch!
Thanks 9tanks!
not another big grid!!
It's big but it's fun so far, Atalante - good morning!
Oh Ata, this one is easy! Really! Words are coming faster than you can type them, I promise.
yay! morning all :)
Out of respect for my keyboard, I'm typing a little slower than sprite....
I'm sulking about the lack of woot :)
me too! And I want so much wootsier. Anything with that ending would be nice. So promising...
me too!
wootsier? *giggles* what a fantastic word!
Has a great sound, doesn't it :)
Okay at a 120. I'm out for now. Bye all!
That's almost halfway ;)
Yeah but I'm having trouble now.
I just used that ending!
twice!
yay!
I should be off as well - have a good day and I'll be back later.
byeee!
There's a curious one, a stocking one and a horticultural one (the ier ending) and perhaps more! Maybe find more later. Byeeeeee!
Crikey - ANOTHER ce 8/45 - I have one of them - the one like a small American coin and an expression of disdain (sorta like nah nah nah naaah nah)...what about the other?
Greetings, all!!!!!
Matty--each of the ce 8's begins with the small coin and one is a coin--plural, one is a meausure, plural and one is a new work to me combines ce 4/5 with on4/4
new word (excuse typos)
Matty--the se 7/32 is nearly identical to the ce 7/32
Good morning all
hey everyone!!
a very quiet log-it was broken there for a while
I am suck on 40 words!! Can people please give some clues??
p&m-some nice an's having to do with ritual oiling
any more??
Eva, how many do you hae?
have*
Thanks for the ce words, guys!
Just one left - 6/21 towards the end.
Done.
Sorry - just one ce word left - I got 149 words left all together!
ce 6/21 plural of ce 5/12 --
how many words total?
only 62!
251 today, lectrice
Hi trishtrash!! P&M, you guys are going much better!
Hey MrP :) How are you and yours today?
Hey trish,,, not too shabby! Hope all is good with you!?
yup, more or less... sun is finally shining (still cold, though, I can't believe I have the heating on in late May!)
hmmm, global trauma with the weather I thinketh! freezing my little ones off here too!
*shares blankets and hot tea around*
aahhh! nice and warm now!
good morning trish & mrp! All I can say about our weather is that at the moment it isn't raining. That's newsworthy. And I'm planning to set out the tomatoe and pepper and basil plants today. Just can't wait any loner. Will probably snow tomorrow if I do that.
It's the last 6/21 I need - the one before the plural of 1/100th of a dollar
Morning Eva! well, you could make a nice hungarian lecho with those plants! and I believe the recipe accepts snow!
what's hungarian lecho?(you knew I'd ask)
morning Eva!
matty, insert a vowel as 5th letter
Got it.
Oh, that is something my dad makes as a side dish... tomatoes and capsicum (peppers)... full of paprika too! very tasty with goulash and potatoes!
hi mrp is that alrite if i call u mr p
or as my kids like to say ghoul-ash! they think it tasts like grave stew!
sounds good. I love pesto, so plant a lot of basil. Use pesto all year then on just about everything except dessert. Doesn't go well with chocolate.
Hi egm, mr p is what I get!
Hi all! How's it look today?
i started a new thing and now ive got 16 words
not bad so far amanda. Although at 80 left I'm stuck for themoment. Lately I have't felt like using lists.
whats this new thing egm?
hi amandacath... I seem to have ground to a halt with 90 to get... I'm with eva, too early for the lists.
And it seems that since I have a dial up connection scrolling through the earlier log entries is not passible for me anymore.
the new word list babble thing
amanda! 251 and not too bad.
mrp-with all due respect, it's never too bad for you(-:
well I have got 63 in the smace of 20 mins so not bad going - but off now as work calls
Eva, I use the word list like I use toilet paper.... plenty!!
2 "ers" it won't accept which are really annoying me-the first is the bare a____ one...streakers are mo_____ indeed, and the second is a no____, or a term for a quickie in a motel in the middle of the day
10 mins, 46 words - oooo, I hate it when that streaker word is in there and it won't take. That's happened quite a few times!
i need help!!
you're not the only one egm!
ive only got 16 words
egm-just relax and take it slowly, letter by letter. And there are good clues in the chat log
I can not get the last a!!!
muit
oops-sort of like the sound of that...I have no idea mrp which the last a is, so don't know if I have it or not
hey guys its jess

I'll bite-what time is it mrp?
*~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~*

Eva how many words have u got
I agree, I like it!
What a colourful point to come in at!! Congrats MrP Eva, saw yr note earlier about basil, was watching a program and they were making basil ice cream.
What should it mean? The sound one makes when elbowed in the abdomen? Or the exclamation of an owlet?

Not bad company - who's Paul Weller?
good morning all. Another big one. GEEZ!
Moring alien
when does ms scarlet come on usually
Alien, big but very pleasant! Not like yesterday's.
egm, she comes on in the afternoon, after school
yes, it looks nicer. : )
It's got to be a good grid - it's got m4/10!
movieman, what was the name of the band that Paul Weller fronted, my brain has gone blank.
Paul Weller is a singer/songwriter in the UK. Was in a Mod band called The Jam
Well blow me down! Looks like Australia is going to win against Greece in the soccer! Go AUSSIE Go !
hahaha I had to think twice to remember
*blows mrP down*
Thank you moozey I was thinking The Clash, The Jam and others but couldn't decide.
Paul Weller is the ex lead singer of British punk band The Jam, now a rather successful solo artist....
Surely they were Mods?
I love the Clash!
rings a distant bell, Mr. Weller does, and I think I vaguely remember The Jam...
He was also in the Style Council.......
He was also in the Style Council.......
He was also in the Style Council.......
the jam was an imitation of the who, without the fire. the clash was the real thing
Where did you say he was?
The Jam an imitation of The Who? No way.
They were so original!! No one had it over the Clash. Even their music videos cranked!
He was also in The Style Council......
im bored
hello everybody!
Hi aleksia
hello aleksia
hello
Sorry I posted the same message multiple times, but I kept losing the connection....
Is it better now, movieman? So irritating when you want to play :(
Back again to continue the hunt.
All the gangs here now Haz
ah, and the exchange of *pleasantries* continues as they win win win! Yay Australia! They have beaten the former world champions and now the european champions!!
Good!
sprite - yep, I'm back and raring to go.....
Did you finish while I was away, FMitch or are you still on the lookout?
Welcome back, movie ;)
3 ce8s??
Mornin' Haz!
Good morning amandacath - are you well?
Grace: yes, and all start the same.
No haven't finished yet, down to 77 to find but been chatting so only found 3 words in the last 1/2 hour.
grrr...
hihi
Hi Haz - just fine, other than the gray weather, thanks. I've hit a wall at 166 and was just about to ask what else there was to look for when Grace came in with the 3 c8's *goes hunting for big c words*
I gotta go sleepy bye! happy hunting everyone! BYE (waving)!!
Sleep well, mrP :)
Bye MrP sleep well
Nitey nite, MrP
Ah well, FMitch ,I've even more to find than you, so better get to it. By the way, any opinion on Geri Halliwell's choice of names for her baby - Bluebell Madonna?
Heavy stuff for a little one.
Oh good lord! I'm all for original names, but Bluebell?
*puke* err, I mean how delightfully original!
actually I dont think Bluebell's toooo bad - at least its seasonal. but madonna?
Now to listen to some of Mr. Weller's finest tunes.....
I think the combination is er.... well... I believe someone rescued us with 'original'.
"unique", "interesting"
Her explanation for Madonna was that the child emerged screaming as though saying 'Hello Wembley!'
Well at least it's not FifI Trixielulabel or what ever Paula Yates caller hers. She could be called Bel for short but the whole moniker with Halliwell at the end urgh!
"distasteful", "sucking up"
oh my ... "interesting" explanation
That's right, that's right, good words for it :)
Yes, the combination of Bluebell Halliwell isn't great, but it's her choice...
"copycat" - I think the Yates one is Tigerlily
In 18 years Bluebell will declare: "I prefer Mary."
Heavenly Hiraani Tigerlily to be precise....
fifi trixabelle, peaches, and heavenly hirani tigerlily
Some parents are criminals.
actually in 18 years she could go Hi my name is Mark!!
I would not blame her, FMitch
Why do our brains insist on storing such garbage?
imagine if we could as easliy recall all the "imortant" stuff what our exam results would be like!
My husband can't believe the things I remember. Not useful things like how to wire a plug, but stupid names and who wrote what.
sometimes i come on this site, not to play, just to read the chatterbox........
the Yates kids live near me - and actually, they are nice kids
Oh, I'll bet he's got his share of garbage in the old gray matter too, Haz!
All this talk of unusual names for children reminds me of the time when a couple had a child who was jaundiced, so they called her La-La after the yellow Tellytubby.....
And the meaning and existence of 'ywis', 'anoa', 'pfui', don't forget that knowledge!
tine
Hi spanner
He's hopeless with names, amanda - he even calls me by his sister's name sometimes - She's Helen, I'm Hazel!
Hi FMitch
Are you serious movieman?
La-La? Like I said, criminal.
Yep, it happened a few years ago......
Hope you enjoy, Spanner. In Germany you have to have kids' names approved by some office. I have my problems with that, but it does prevent things like MM is talking about
I'm not sure if it still happens, but the French government used to have a list of approved names. You couldn't deviate from the list. Seems like a good idea to me!
At least the didn't call the poor mite Po!!!
I can't believe my name is in today's grid......
So is my son's name, movie :)
shouldn't hoosier be a word?
Guessing time again! Tim, Jonas?
Where are you the global community spanner?
Mine is quite common......
should be, Grace - guess it's one that Enable capitalizes, or simply doesn't recognize
England
j4/10 perhaps MM
My son is Tim.
tom? j***?
MM -is it one we can't say because it's an accepted word?
jonas too
My name is also US slang for a toilet.....
lol movie... it is valid in the grid too!
US slang for prostitute's customer
Yeah, fireworks :) Nice to have them back.
shane... like the cowboy!
Go Sprite! I tried that one too, Grace
Are you done sprite? Congrats. Right I am diving back in and hunting more words
well done sprite

Done and here a little while longer for clues, if needed ;)

Congrats Sprite
Anyone wanna help me with the e's? I've only found one so far.....

By Grace, by egm
Bye Grace, have a good day.
I swear that babble can't cope as well as it used to with the fast typing of words. I've just spent ages looking for an so4 and realised it was one of the words I found when I first stated this morning and I KNOW I entered it!!!
how many words are there today
251 words today
thx fmitch
I've had that problem too, Mitch. Annoying, isn't it? What's the second je - I've got the israelites
Greetings, all... how goes the grid today?
Hi Jera - big, but not too bad
I've had that happen as well, FMitch.
Hey Jera!!! It's a good one today. How are you feeling?
I haven't experienced that but hey - there's a first time for everything, as I proved this morning.... Or maybe I'm just a slow typist.
Still very tired, beginning to suspect some sort of infection, ugh. Gonna call the doctor today.
nvm - found it
When my nails are getting too long I find I often add a ' at the edn of a word, which the puzzle of course doesn't recongnize
Time for lunch!
Oh sorry to hear that, fingers crossed for speedy recovery.
Morning all! Ya know, I think we would all appreciate a slightly smaller grid sometime soon. :)
clue for je a monetary unit of south korea
I keep having problems..... I keep getting something appearing on my taskbar saying connecting aol, and I have to wait a minute or so before I can get rid of it.....
{{JEN}}
josh
{{Jera}} glad to hear you are going to the doc! You really need to get this thing cleared up!
Yeah a flu-ey virus thing I can handle since the docs can't really do anything about it... but infections are not to be messed with (especially for me).
morning, babblers|
I keep having problems..... I keep getting something appearing on my taskbar saying connecting aol, and I have to wait a minute or so before I can get rid of it.....
I need to at least get well enough to take my car in to get it fixed!
Moviman, I am completely aol-ignorant, so all I can offer you is my sympathy...
does anyone have a clue for the first an? I have what I think it the first an, but I'm not sure.
I have no an's yet, Angelsong!
These en words are gonna be the death of me!
Sounds a bit like the proper name for the back passage (not the slang term)
I hope you get good news Jera (like it's not an infection). :)
Angel - the 1st an is a4/4
Hi Angel!
clue for an its to put a stake into the put before your play poker
Angel - There's an AN that means to apply fragrent oils to something ......
Actually, it not being an infection would be quite worrisome... I hope that's all it is. Some antibiotics & I'm good to go. Not an infection would open a whole world of nasty possibilities...
FMitch: the one I have is an + a vowel + plural letter.
yup that is the 1st one
also iif you play poker you need to an** up
Angel - didja get my clue?
Well, good luck. :)
en 7 words anyone?
and movieman's word is plural as well
I'm still at the lovely stage of scanning the grid & words leap out at me... plus all the clues make it even fatser... ;>
But then I only have 106 words so far...
Dr. God -- "IMPUNE" is a perfectly good word.
its impugn isn't it?
does anyone know how many words this puzzle has today?
251
It is, Ata. en7 - unites, to trap 251 words
thanks alot
impune
actually, it's not unite, but it sounds like it: to direct or impose with authority and emphasis
Sorry, impune is latin, but i known je4/9 ain't English!
For English use it's almost always an adjective(?)... impunity.
I have resigned myself that Enable is completely arbitrary in what it sees as English and in what it capitalizes
true
I would love to meet the Enable TPTB... that would be a fascinating thing...
TPTB?
The Powers That Be... nameles ones in charge...
ah :)
What's TPTB? If it's the person who's responsible for what goes in or stays out, I'd like to meet him or her to w5/24 him or her over the head!
I believe the Latin term is impunis. Impune seems to be acceptable, and means unpunished.
Oh well, not acceptable to the Enable gods... so we must bow to their arbitrary will...
Grrr. I still think FLOO should be acceptable, and that was ages ago...
Only half-serious on that one. ;)
yeah - hasnt enable read Harry Potter???!!!!
Moosier is so a word!!
I want to put moonpie in....too bad.
and monster.
Yes, I've typed monster more than once...
and joice. if you can rejoice, surely you can joice? lol
I agree, Atalante, the English language is so weird.....
impugn (verb): from Middle English impugnen, from Old French impugner, from Latin impugnare - to attack as false or questionable impunity (noun): Latin impunitus, from impune, without punishment - exemption from punishment, penalty, or harm
Linguistics lesson for the day - another English combo that makes no sense whatsoever. Verb means to blame, noun means free from blame - go figger
Another great word... wonder if Enable would accept that one?
I wish no one had mentioned monster, I can't see anything else now
Which one Jera, figger? I always think it looks like a bad word when written out
No, impugn
Sorry, Katie...
impugn *should* be acceptable! its in dictionary.com anyway
don't worry about it Jera, it reflects my concentration levels. Eating an M&S trifle whilst sitting in an empty office, life could be worse :)
Here are some more phantom words to clear your mental palate... moist... noise... mosh... is that better?
time is my latest obsession
or timeout
I keep trying for motion
I just typed it now :)
and notion
I keep trying notion. I hat en words.
i think i've enter shoot about 4 times
I've tried homie a dozen tomes, won't take
I keep seeing erase....
and mention - are there ANY that end in -tion?
Someone made a lovely point the other day (can't remember who it was) - Imagine if we got a point deducted for every non word or repeated word we typed in!!
haha now that you said that i keep wanting to enter petition
Yeah, homie should be a word...
Horrible thought, Mitch! Bet my score would average out to 0!
Fmitch - I would constantly be in the negative
I would certainly check my list more often...
And nearly etui (my favourite word)
I don't think I would be addicted, either...
piet
sorry - not a word anyway
Yup me too KatieW
Can someone tell me why I actually started this blasted thing? :)
Because you are addicted, Jen... oh & the camaraderie, of course...
who cares about points anyway :)
what?!? - no commaraderie if you have less points?
Gonna take a break...... Be back later.......
LOL since when has number of points or words etc stopped the chat and the commnity!!
It's not like I don't have stuff to do today, LOL. (and you are right Jera, I'm addicted)
OK, cleared down the e's EXCEPT for the en words - I need en 6/33, en 7/48 and the last en6/21
greetings, all!
i've managed to stop with the obsession of finishing and just have fun with it now. Chat & community more important
hello jbp

The en4 means the same as plenty or sufficient . But I still need the 6/33 and 7/48 - not sure I get the clue...
ok, no i've refreshed, let'

I only have 3 se's & they are all 4's
6/33 and 7/48 - en + j4 (and plural)

en6 & 7 - to prohibit u - at the very top
what is today's icon theme?
tx amanda!
thx, matty - one en left to go...
Got the se7, and it doesn't have a def... it's the se5/10 before it + the 1st 2 letters of the leader of the 3 Stooges.
Oh, Abe - leave the Barney Miller, pleeeezzzzz!
lol. i have to say, i'm enjoying the barney miller too...
Thanks - I was going the wrong way from the j
Thx jen! That one is a c word too, btw
One more en - en6/21
are there 2 en6/21?
thanks amandacath! Doesn't that spelling mean a fraction of a Spanish peseta?
I still can't see the U word. How mant letters?
Didn't look it up - thought it was the spanish word for french currency... :-)
Alien - 6 letters
Just the one en 6/21, but it's the last en I need
its to lure / attract
Just got the sw words on my own without the list - v. pleased :)
isn't that the 7/28, Ata?
just looked it up amanda, and I was right... (plus in some S Amer countries as well)
Thanks... that was my 151st word... taking a break with 100 left... later all!
could be both, amanda!
Bye Jera! Feel better! :)
I wonder which en I'm missing then *glares at the E*
*looks again*
can't entomb be spelled as entoom today? please?
can I get a clue for the U?
Ahhh - got it! Had thought about that one, but was going from the wrong E. One more ... (i miscounted before)
Alien - at the very top - of your mind, generally
Ok, now I can be the en smart-alec - got 'em all
what's the stats for the last one then?
ummm - 5/18? more plentys
hmmm got one, and its singular, the 6/21, the 7/28, the 6/33 + plural. is that is or is there one more?
that's it - 6 according to Lickety
oh cool. that cuts down the possibilities for my last E!
all the other e's are the ones that are always there
yup :) got it now :)
I keep getting distracted by drawing rabbits
Okay, I need to get to the gym and work off some of last night's pizza... BBL! :)
Wow, talented rabbits!
if we can have retrim the other day, how come we can't have resnip?
lol yes they are!
just got over the half way mark, better go and do some work before the thought police catch me, see you later :)
and how come no nooners??
would a sweater knitted from rabbit fur be moh4/5?
no mooner either
lol amandacath...
same reason there's no mooners, jbp - sigh
amandacath, you must have taken your vitamins this morning!! :-)
indeed!
amandacath: mebbe less...
and how come no pention...I don't know what it would mean, but I know I want it!
I'm stuck at 193 and to the point of making up silly words, that's all
lol same here amanda, but at 205
can I get a hint for any of the c-8's? I don't have any yet.
Can i get a nudge on the top corner H, I have h 4,6,4,5,4,5,6,5,4 - what am I missing?
I still don't have the en 6/21
Alien - they all start the same: there's a currency, a unit of weight, and something else that I don't know what it means: 100 sounds?
there are 3 ha5/12's
got it, thanks
Matty, might I en6/21 you with a carton of Ben&Jerry's?
ok, what are my last two in's - got the foot one, the preposition and the 6-7-8 combo...
its a 6-7-8-7 combo
duh - of course it is. Fish please, probably for the other in as well...
not sure about the other one ...
I think it's a 7/28, whatever it is
you mean the ones having to with not out + pitch?
pitch as in throw or as in sound?

I have en+come together &plural, en + trap, and lure/tempt
so clearly I mmissing a sing & plural of something... can someone tell me which en it comes off of, or rhyme it with something?
Your words are disappearing into an os6/24! The other en is another word for plenty + it's plural (although I don'Tquite see how that can exist)
hi all - jbp - i'm missing the same ones. and now i'm afraid to get coffee!
i don't think it's the coffee, somehow
4 letter old english word for plenty, sufficient.
and pl, of course.
I don't get the come together clue?
Hi Hursh!
hello.
Hiya!
remis is so a word!
you mean remiss?
Nope, remis - it's a chess word, I think when the game is a draw
ohhhh
amanda, do you mean remise?
amanda is correct, its a draw in chess
then the word should be here.
...along with about a billion others that aren't, Annie - *another big sigh*

Princess Bride - my favorite movie!
Ah, yes - you're right Hursh. That' a gaping os6/24 (my word for the day) in my fantasy treasure chest
it's not so much fantasy, really...
hey amanda, can you please turn me on to the os 6/24? i don't have that one...
fairy tale, fantasy, sci-fi - love it all
abe - the os sounds like it should be an element, but as Ata pointed out to me, it's actually a hole
thanks amanda- i will think that over!
Visitors!! Back later
thinking over...thanks i got it!
yw!
I'm stuck on an me5. I havw the one that's a personal pronoun = male offspring...clues for the other one?

Hi bex!

Hi Bex, hows yr day been?

i'm 12 clothes
fine thanks. i got a letter from school congratulating me on my achievements in year nine, so that was good. yours?
clothes how old are u?
I've got uncraziest, the U.S.-born grandchild of Japanese immigrants to America, and Matt - there's one more 6/18, should be the very last one

thanks fiz :)
TROLL ALERT!!!!!
you're just realizing that now, amanda? :)
I suspected but was waiting to be sure - how do we get rid of it?
Dr_G is online in sudoku which could be handy
ignoring usually works best
you popping over there fmitch?
while you're at it you might mention we wouldn't mind having the swear-bleeper back...
grouphug for [[[[[[[[[[clothes]]]]]]]]]]]
good call hursh. sometimes i could use one strapped to my mouth, too...
yes, havent done it yet today so thougth I would give it a go. Lets see what develops
Morning, everybody. Massive grid today.
massive? have you not had any 400'ers yet, kaetchen?
Morning Kaetchen. Beware of creatures lurking under the bridge today...
hi kaetchen
is there more than one oo word?
yes abe
Ouch, and NO! 251 is plenty large enough, thanks! (BTW, what kills me most about trolls is how boring they are - always the same junk.)
speak of the devil...
ty hurshy
Hi all!!!
Hi Schroeder!
hiya schroeder
Hi Kaetchen! I'm missing an sh5-6 combo - got what children should do with their toys, and that with another letter - can't seem to see another one ...?
Yo Schroeder
Hi Kaetchen & Bex & amanda!!
amandacath - sounds like a sheep post-shearing - with the first vowel instead of the 4th.
rhymes with a spun fiber with which one might knit or crochet
that's the other one I've already got - what is that anyway *goes to look up word*
ok - try what you do to a fly - then add a totally random consonant on the end.
*and finds it isn't in the dictionary*
Hi! How many words today?
Hi Liz...251
groan! Thanks Schroeder
it is a much better grid than yestreday liz!!!! even though it's bigger.
hmmm - finally found it in urbandictionary.com, if it's to be trusted, then it's a bad word, synonym with a4/4
ok...I'm not very good at this
amanda where does this other combo fall?
FMitch is right Liz!!! Jump on in..
hmm I thought nooner was a good word! LOL
Ouch, amandacath - and who is that poor girl?
so, back to my missing sh5-6 combo: I've got the stock in a company + pl and the a4/4 synonym + pl. - no wait! my bad, had mischecked my list. I'm only missing the first sh6/21 - after the ruler, before the stock Yeah, that's what I said, Fiz!
and having typed all that, I found it immediately - duh!
you go, girl (i assume)
amanda, I just had the exact same experience!
It happens fairly often, but I generally try to double and triple check my list before I go bugging everyone for clues
hey amanda - so...clue maybe?
sounds like a tumble-down hut?
... built on ther outer limits of big cities.
a sh**** town
thanks amanda! excellent
yw!
somehow i still need to find two more from that box...
sh6/21 om..namaste everyone!
oh, there's one
Same to you, TO (I think?)
and there's the other!
lol ac!
piot
LOL amanda I was thinking along the same lines .. TO Right back atcha!!!! if thats appropriate.
loosely translated it means i honor your being
Oh definately right back to you too then :)
Well, that *is* a nice thing to say. Ditto Mitch
I think we can all get behind that. What TO said to all of you!
anyone have all the C's?
Yup - whatchya need?
GTG - see u all later! i need a yoga session - so tressed!
i only have 5 c's !!!
tressed - that means you need your hair doing not yoga!!!
well one of the 8's which i'm hoping might be in combo with a 7? i have 7/36 8/50 spanish sounding words and a ce8/45 with no singular even though it looks plural
LOLOLOL
Namaste, TO. That was certainly an interesting final few minutes.
ce8/45?
like an in7, TO
you need the unit of weight, Hursh - 7/32 + 8/45
what system of measurement - metric, english?
not english, in any case ... hold on, have to lok it up again
in Germany & Scandanavia, 50 kgs, in parts of the SU 100 kgs
how many words are there today?
Just found them monkey typing - use the top left three, hursh
251, maggie, and I'm missing 3 of them *goes hunting*
the top left 3? i have to get all the way over there? wow
i am so confused, if i use the top left 3 i'll have too many points...
no! it's like "in the middle" with a cons in the middle
ah, thanks amanda :)
phew, done with the biggies nwo.
now, rather.
mooner is definitely a word in my family
It is an improtant, impetuous method of communication!
yeah i was pretty surprised that didn't take
Last word - so6/21. Someone please save me from myself
nooner isn't a word? that's too bad...
so + a little teeny bit or a little bug or piece of dust
perhaps someone who likes the drug from "a brave new world"
so + m4/5
oh brave new world that has such babblers in it!
A segmental mass of mesoderm in the vertebrate embryo, occurring in pairs along the notochord and developing into muscles and vertebrae. if that helps
Well why didn't you say that in the first place Fiz. LOL!!!!
Hey - we're all here to learn something, right? *flashes back to college embryology lab at 8:30 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday AM*
Yay! got it - virtual fireworks for me! Must now think about what to eat this evening, but I'll stick around for a while while doing so
Woohoo amanda!!!!
oooo the points really rack up with the sw's
'grats Amanada
Good work AC! where are you, amandacath? b/c I'm just having those same thoughts re. lunch.
yay amanda - 19 left here
yay amanda!!!
how many sw's
Ugh! I hated labs - one of the reasons I switched from pharmacy to German in college!
5 sw's
ummm - does that last entry answer your question, Fiz?
syb-not sure. i have 4 from the same base, loads of points!!
yeah. thanks. bratwurst or knockwurst for dinner?
Hi im back, have we lost the troll?
think so caitlyn
how many words pls?
seem to, cait. claire, 251
there was another troll? sheesh.
amanda - is the one i gave you the only so6?
there is a sneaky sw that comes at the end of the list that sounds like the 1st sw but change the 4th letter to another vowel
I'm not much the wurst person. Only brats I eat are homemade ones I get from my ex-mom-in-law. I was thinking more along the lines of tuna salad...
3 other fairly easy so's, hursh
THANKS FMitch!!!
oh - only one so6
yw smaller :)
my stepfather-in-law is german - he's a huge sausage guy. i'm, well, not. tuna salad sounds good - thanks for the lunch idea.
thanks amanda, then i have those... are there any si? trying to narrow down what i'm missing
hursh -no si today
sm?
No hurshy
nope
nope - there's a weird sn, a shakespearean sh
ok so i need more se, sn, or st
though i really want "smite"
Hello, Hello, Hello. I thought I would babble a bit before i get down to work.
how long is this weird sn, amanda?
there's an se7 that's just like a ce7
yes, i have all the 7's and 8's
Hi smazing
How many words are there today?
sn5 - sounds a bit like a Guy Ritchie movie with Brad Pitt
251 words
woohoo, IMDB here i come!
ty caitlyn
thanks amanda - only 2 s's left and they were one of my biggest problems.
hoser is never accepted
bob and doug would be so hurt
Yeah, no hosers or mooners allowed, I guess - annoying, isn't it
Whoever doesn't accept hoser has never changed a baby boy's diaper!
LOL Munner
lol, munner!
You hoser
LOL Munner!!! I've been annointed on several occasions!
LOL munner and what a wonderful photo you have as your lcon today.
urf, gotta go shower
First time my son changed his first baby boy's diaper --the child on the right in my picture--and the baby peed on him, he left the baby on the floor and went to take a shower!
Bye hurshy
goosd afternoon everybody:)
He has since become a pro with these two little boys 19 months apart.
Hi jean
ooooooooops I meant good not goosd
They are lovely children Munner
thanks, caitlyn, they are two of my five grandchildren--All, or course, exceptionally cute, smart, and onery!
I have 5 as well and love them all to bits.
Somebody gossip and tell me why Mikey from Berlin left Babble. I've tried to go back to the logs but it shuts my computer down
I have been away so didnt know he had gone
I, too, have been here intermittently, but always enjoyed Mikey's chatter
The last time I saw Mikey, someone unecessarily brought up his sexual orientation. And he was upset about it. That and he was arguing with someone about a comment he made, saying he wasn't trying to be holier-than-thou or anything. I do not know if that's what led to his departure, but to my understanding he never felt well-enough liked to begin with.
It was unfortunate.
He was always fun and seemed popular its a shame!
that's too bad. good, perhaps, that he wasn't here with our earlier troll visit, tho.
I am a newbie to chat logs... now i have seen it reference twice to a 'troll'. Would anyone be kind to clue me in on what one means by that? TY
someone who comes in to cause trouble - insults, curses, inane questions, etc. I'm new (relatively)to chat too but that's what I've picked up.
see earlier posts from "clothes" for example
Ah! that makes sense. Thanks.
trolls are people (generally, teen-age boys, I presume) who ger some sort of perverse pleasure by insulting and annoying complete strangers
are there any rh words?
We have had quite a few horrible trolls since i have been playing we all try to ignore and hope they will go away
occasionally that can be very offensive but that is rare. Best thing is to ignore and not respond to them and the do go away. Occasionally Dr-G has to get involved and will delete them and their comments.
yeah, alien - one
thanks....how many letters please?
Alien 1 rh word
rh4/5
So i put nose to the grindstone and did 102 words since i signed on. How many J's are there?
*note to self - don't chat in "add word" field*
But it's better than the reverse.
11 j's
TY
ty fmitch
11 J words smazing
smazing 2 je and 9jo
good point smazing.
Too bad that someone was mean about Mikey's sexual orientation - unusual for the babble-community, I would think. I do think he sometimes took comments the wrong way, though.
4 more to go then.
amanda-not that they were mean about it. They just outed him to the babble players. Which is no big deal to most of us, but it is private and no one's business.
He was open about it though amandacath
sn 5/12 clue please
that wasn't the problem he made it clear inhis converdaion, his profile and the way he talked. You couldn't read it any other way!
Whoever it was that mentioned it (this was at least two weeks ago and I can't even remember stuff from two days ago, so I'm sorry I'm vague) said it for no reason. Just said it, and Mikey asked what that had to do with the argument at the moment. There really wasn't a reason.
Don't have it jeffer, can't help ya!
funny - i don't feel that it ever comes up for me here. and i'm gay for a living...
... anyway back to babbling and does anyone need more clues?
the sn5/12 sounds a bit like a Guy Ritchie movie with Brad Pitt, or what you do with your teeth
Jeffer - when you shoot someone from a concealed area, usually at a distance.
well, now that you ask. how many 8's and 9's are there. I lost my stats the other day and haven't gone pro, yet.
oh ty leighprefect
you sn.... with your teeth???
I am missing the lower left 2 e's. please help.
good one leigh. i was trying to go the other way.
welcome
6 x 8s 12 x 7 and no 9's for a change.
no - you gn with your teeth. I don't know how to sn, since it's not in the dictionary, but if anyone would like to teach me...?
Gotta a lot to do then. Only go one 7. and 1-8.
Alien, en + exclamation for hurting
thank you. : )
look at the sw's then smazing and you get a nice few words there.
will do. ty
How about the u?
u - at the very top
The SWs are my favourite words today
more frequently you'll se uT**** - just switch the second letter
u + opposite of least
whoops....up + opps. of most
.. and there are 4 good "in" combos with "ink"
thanks, finally saw it.
Alien!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alien said a word!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks for the in clue.
ummm Fiz, how can you be gay for a living? *asks quietly from the corner and doesn't mean to insult anyone so please no one take it wrong*
I need the first and second in (in7/28 and in 6/21) - the ones that have nothing to do with copier ink)
you get paid to talk to kids about being nice to everyone. sorta. and that kinda inures you to insults, so don't sweat it.
in + to5/10
the in6/21 is on your foot, matty
Yeah, I saw that one too, but thought I would not ask. Curious though!
Yes, it is. thanks!
sorry, clue for wrong in
Now just the in7/28
matty in7/28 in +sn5/10
in + s5/10
Well, that's a pretty nice way to earn a living, I guess. I was actually wondering if there was such a thing as drag king shows or something along those lines.
thanks for in clues. I feel like I'm embezzling words from the log!
Thanks - got that now - never heard of it, but got it!
Going to be responsible now and go work on some applications and have breakfast. See you in a while. Have a good day all.
oh, AC, nothing that much fun. homophobia education, HIV prevention, etc. and i don't think many people pay the bills that way.
Bye smazing
have a nice break, smazing
Bye smazing
and - back to babble - I'm a chatty cathy today - mo 5/12 after the austin powers 5/22?
97 left, and nearly time to go home.
mo 5/12 - More daVinci paintings?
think davinci code subject fiz,(plural)
*must now tear self away from chat and go to store for tuna* - brb!
I keep thinking what a mess I would been in if I had discovered Babble before I retired from teaching!
and.. i'm the only person in the wstern world who's neither read the book nor seen the movie...but i got it, thanks. AC - pick up extra for me?
puzzled.
Bye amandacath
are there any TE words
oh NOT da vinci code, other da vinci
tens
oops
that'd be one, yes
me5/12? Then I must go home...
LOL Alien i enjoy seeing people typing in the words in the chat log!!
me + beginning of a stealthy kind of attack me + not daughter
You're the luckiest person in the Western World if you haven't abused yourself with the book, Fiz - I picked it up literally by mistake (the title's differnt in German) and it wa appalling!
Fab - thanks!
i know, amanda - it was billed to me as a mystery novel so i was thinking agatha christie type.... i HATED it
I thought the book was GREAT!! (I have that sort of mind)
Hi everyone
Hi saphyre

Hi boreetos

Hi boreetos

Hi HAz, Oooh wonderful, been on safari once and that was in S.Africa

It's to celebrate husband's 50th birthday. Anyway, have to get tea. Back later!
Bye Haz Happy Birthday to hubby
has Stid been in here today?
not unless it was reeeeeally early, daisy. I've been here all day (no, I don't have a life)
I havnt seen her today
me either amanda
ok i'm back
i've got them going and i'm ready to find my last bit of wordage
Nor me amanda
amanda, my wonderful friend, i have 3 o4's and 2 o5's and one o6 from the center O - what might i be missing
Oh good - I was hoping I could rag on Dan Brown with you some more. To pick up the convo from earlier - I wouldn't have been 1/2 so annoyed if I hadn't read the story 100 times before in better-written form, and if he hadn't been given so much credit for "discovering" this "big secret" about Mary Magdalen and secret societies and the rest
lol - it drove me nuts how he kept going back and forth between the plots
Hi. Can anyone tell me how many words there are today? Just wondering if it behooves me to begin.
251
let's see - you're missing 2 o4's, dunno from where
thanks.
251 today!!
hurshy 5 o/4 ..3o/5 and 1 0/6
no i'm just missing one... ok so it's a 5 then
i wasn't counting the 2 from the other O amanda :)
What was also so horrible was that it was written as if he was planning for someone to make it into a TV-Miniseries - every chapter ended on a cliff-hanger, just in time for a commercial!
exactly. i hate that kind of book.
And I totally cracked up when he described the guy as looking like Harrison Ford. He so obviously wanted it to be made into a movie with harrison Ford starring.
My mum is reading it at the moment,I think she is enjoying
i was kind of surprised at tom hanks for accepting the role.
Well, it certainly is high-profile.
yes but he usually has such good taste
and it's not like he needs to be any higher profile than he is - he's securely A-list.
True enough. Must be he liked it. Lots of people did!
Tom Hanks was sooo miscast . . .
I love him but he was not good in this movie
But the one thing I just can't get over, is WHAT THE HECK IS WITH HIS HAIR???
movie . . . er, travelogue
done!
congrats!
i know, UGH, his hair is so icky that way, he looks pervy or something
Congrats, Angel!
I think i will wait to see the film!! yeah for Angelsong
maybe they thought it looked "professorial"
Yes, he looks like he only became a professor so he could sleep with students.
i am not getting my words this way.. :)
evening all
hey, sha
Oh, wait, I'm supposed to be finding words?
anyone else really want ointment to be there?
ME ME!
it was so "movie of the week"ish
Hi sha ....and bye to all catch you all tomorrow happy babbling ..bye..........
Gandalf's back!!!!!!!
i agree--soooo disappointing
Hi ya all, hope your having a good day
Report back when you've seen the movie, then, caitlyn! :)
yay for gandalf!
I'm not surprised he accepted the role - you know how much he's gonna make from it!?! And there's not much he can do to ruin his reputation - it won't kill his career and will explode his bank account
Ohh hurray - MovieMan's back just in time to get in the movie discussion!
Hi sha - missed you there. And katie too
great cast, beautiful locations and . . . plodding, heavyhanded
hmm, can't find it. what's the O5 besides om5/12 and os5/10?
If you're discussing the Da Vinci Code, I haven't seen it yet....... I was gonna see it with Punster last week, but changed my mind at the last minute.....
om5, on5, os5 Hursh
don't waste your money, movieman
I think anyone who really liked the book will be disappointed with the movie - but that is how it usually goes
excellent, thanks amanda
What surprised me most was that Ron Howard wanted to direct it! He's the one who generally has such good taste!
It was reviewed on Radio 5 in England and the review said he just wanted the lights to be turned on as the whole film was set in the dark
hmm, so if you liked the book you will be disappointed - if you didn't like it you won't like the movie - so all they can get is people who HAVEN'T read it. and i agree about ron howard.
I decided not to see it in the end, 'cos of all the negative reviews I read about it..... One paper even gave it a 'turkey' rating......
I haven't read the book but hate films that are shot in the dark!!! not sure whether to go yet or not
how many re's we got today?
lighting was fine, cinematography was fine, music was fine . . . . movie was just boring
I'm not sure anyone will be able to really follow the movie without reading the book
movieman, I wanted to like it and to ignore the critics at Cannes but this time they were right
one of the most boring movies ever: being human with robin williams. we actually walked out, only time i've ever done that.
But then it won't hurt him either, and oooo all that money! Just means he'll be able to do more stuff like Arrested Development - so I guess we should all be glad, in the end.
Thank God there are some movies that do the source novels justice...... Like the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Trainspotting, and A Clockwork Orange.....
oh, saphyre - that means NOBODY will like the movie!
Clockwork Orange, ohmygod, what a movie
I'm ashamed to admit this but I hated the Lord of the Rings books so have never seen the movies
And not forgetting The Godfather.....
I read the book and thought the movie was lacking, my daughter read the book twice and hated the movie
*sigh* yes
Katie, you don't know what you're missing.......
which movie are you talking about??
that's ok katie - we won't throw you out :)
DaVinci Code
I know I really really tried to like the books but Frodo was just such a prat
LOTR was an absolutely fantastic adaptation. I was terrified when the news first came out that they were going to movie-ize it, but they truly did an amazing job!
oohhhh, i agree with your daughter . . . .thought you were talking about Godfather!
Peter Jackson is a cinematic God!!!!!!!!!
They looked fantastic but it would be a bit like watching watership down when you don't give a stuff about the rabits (something else I am guilty of)
Tom Hanks hasn't made a decent movie since.....well, forever......
He is great, but he evidently can't be a god since he does have faults - i.e. King Kong
I WANT TOM HANKS TO BE FUNNY AGAIN!!!!!!!
now, movieman, when you want to sink to a low level of fluff, you have to admit he's fun with Meg Ryan
Pete Jackson is a god in the sense that he can make a three hour-plus movie and make it seem like two hours.....
the funny thing is we all think of tom hanks and meg ryan but haven't they only actually acted in like 2 scenes together?
and i LOVED Big
Now I loved S in S
or were they in something else besides sleepless?
You've Got Mail
I'm sorry, une, but I just can't stand the man.....
oh yeah i forgot that.
youve got mail
i like her hair so much better long.
Weren't they the same movie, different title?
I loved that one as well!! Mindless pap is obviously my taste in films :)
hah! yes, amandacath!!
I preferred Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally.....
I like her lips so much better real
amanda - oh yes :)
no, not at all, amanda, really
harry sally is one of the greatest movies!!
ugh, can't stand the pumped up lips
i esp love the big can of aquanet
ohmygod, hurshy, my daughter has memorized practically the whole script from harry sally!
Especially the 'fake orgasm' scene...... "I'll have what she's having!!!!!".......
"waiter, there is too much pepper in my paprikash"
spoken by Billy Crystal's mom
Harry/Sally is great, and I actually do like Meg Ryan, when she sticks to what she's good at. I've got a soft spot for her ever since she played Betsy on ATWT
amanda, you have to admit she was pretty pathetic on ATWT--she's come a looooong way!
wuh?
It's a soap opera - who isn't pathetic!?!?
i don't watch soaps - can anyone tell me why practically every single shot is a close-up of a face? is there a reason they do that???
clues for the last 2 sa 6/18 s please i have one but the one clue fmitch gave me earlier the word i thought it was wont go in
havent' watched soaps in many years but Meg Ryan on ATWT I do remember . . .
ello ruthy
one is the pl of a 5/10, the other has the fun a4/4 in the middle
The only time I watched soaps was 27 years ago when I was on bed rest with my first kid, thank god she was 2 months early
Ruthy - next to the last is WestWing Pres Matt, last one is ... have to think about a clue for that one
:-D
lull in storms--off to walk dogs--BBL
I haven't watched any in years either - believe it or not, they're even worse when dubbed into a foreign language! How 'bout David Hasselhof on TYATR - he unfortunately HASN'T gone very far
"then it's nothing but words, words, words all the time!"
you lost me hursh - are we back to Harry/Sally?
no - paraphrasing princess bride...
oh *puts on list of DVDs to buy*
love princess bride
Is the an7/28 a compound word?
I think umpic should be a word. "I'm feeling a bit umpic today" = a little bit in a bad mood for no real reason
no vi
The 2nd ce8/45 plz.....
the first is a pl, the second is a comparative
movieman - like an in7
Thanks.
can anyone help me with the as 6/30?
s + sw5
that's a good one, amandac.
Hi cliff! You've been lurking
i mean a +, obviously
just a little while.....just got back from donating blood.
ty hurshy :)
ask for more clues for A words!! :)
Still can't get the 2nd ce8/45........
good for you, cliff! They never let me do that since I didn't weigh enough - that was many years ago, though, I'm sure I've caught up by now
CHS, do you have in7 (a pl)? change the i to the ce
Never mind, just found it!!!!
my son and i always used to donate together. It was wierd without him (he's in the air force now)
going to chill for a bit, might bbl
Cliff - I really wish I could donate blood, but, unfortunately, as I am on medication for my epilepsy, I can't.....
Cliff, hows he getting on ? whats the latest?
I guess he is all settled ino things by now?
Oh, that's right, Cliff - your son's down south isn't he?
I, too, used to donate regularly. I donated platelets and loved doing it knowing it helped so many people. Haven't been able to since cancer.
i will be traveling to see him graduate from officer training in july (in alabama.) only five more weeks before i can hug him again. he has now moved up to be 'upper' class in the training and is happy the hellish stuff is over.
grrr, i can't find words.
Whatcya need, Hursh?
thanks for asking....
Cliff you wil have to take a phot and upload it for your icon when you get back!
fmitch - thank you again for guiding me to flickr. my son can enjoy all the kitten pic's now.
i need 3 A's, for one thing (hence the encouraging cliff to ask for more clues for them)
your welcome cliff :)
and i can't wait to see my son in uniform. you can bet i'll have some pics of him up once i get back!
sorry hursh, i have all my a's :(
A words are the worst - got the fire one?
yes, got fire. any really weird 5's or 6's?
How about former talk-show host ar----- Hall, minus i.
two wierd 6's: 1. Social instability caused by erosion of standards and values. 2. Alienation and purposelessness experienced by a person or a class as a result of a lack of standards, values, or ideals: “We must now brace ourselves for disquisitions on peer pressure, adolescent an**** and rage†(Charles Krauthammer).
ne clues for tha sa 6-18?
Wow, when amanda goes for the googleable, she doesn't mess around!
like that helps - like low on blood with a diff vowel in the middle
Of the ones amanda's def applies two, one is adj and one is n.
(applies TO, I mean, of course)
i could've sworn i'd tried the adj one before
it meant something completely different than what I was expecting, so I thought I'd s5/12...:)
cliffopa, congratulations to your son. You have every right to be proud of him. Wave if you drive through Georgia.
Anyone clue me up with the an7/28 (the last one)?......
more fidgety, CHS
so are there 4 a6's altogether, and 2 a5's (or 3?)
sa6/18 - most uncrazy 2- US citzen of Japanese ancestry 3 -pl Spanish holy figurines 4 -large sandstone block that begins with asian respiratpry disease
I could've sworn I'd already tried that one, SCD......
sa6/18 - there's 3: uncraziest, WestWing Pres, and the other one that's really difficult to clue for
ty munner. we'll be flying to 'bama though. i'm not a fan of driving long distances.
um, 4 - vicuna's right
vicuna, could you guide me toward the us citizen of japanese ancestry?
5 a6's, 2 a5's
yikes ANOTHER 6
ok
hiya everyone!! :)
yup, sa6/18 number 2: starts with French for without, then add two vowels
abe it's like a japanese teacher but change the first e to a
hi bex
back :)
Hi Ata!
hey there bexillator, i'm at the dreaded 14 - oh hey ata
...and bex!
thanks vicuna and hurshy!

hurshy are u on im before i sign on?
12 sh's
nope, i'm not on IM
6/18
one more 6/18, hursh
Oh, dear! Just got a call from my daughter-in-law telling me that my "baby boy", 27 years old, is in the ER with kidneystones.
oh munner, that's no fun!
oh yucky, Munner! That's painful
Thank you. Can you please tell me how mant ST words also.
i'm sorry to hear that, Munner :(
ouch!
ow! i can't imagine that pain munner.
I've had kidneystones twice and given birth four times. I'll choose giving birth any day.
no alien, i don't know that one for sure cause i still have 2 s's missing from that box.
REALLY munner - i have done neither but find that surprising.
((((munner))))
7 st's, alien
aha, i have all those
i must need se's or sn's
missing an st, have st5, 4, 5, 5, 5, 6 - what's missing?
i've got 5 se
well at least when u give birth, you have something to show for it when it's over! and my little project turns 16 TODAY!
6 sn's, 6 se's
there are 4 5's in a row there cadfan
daisy - if you're joey you might have something to show for the kidneystones too :)
Woohoo! Happy birthday Daisy - my first turns 16 in July. How's driving going?
hurshy did dr_god get rid of clothes?
wow, tndaisy, my mom turns EIGHTY today!
thats me finished
i think so bex :)
lol daisy! 'project' is a great term :)
congrats, sha!
Yay Sha!
good for her! my man's mom would have been 81 tomorrow....
well done sha!!!! :)
okay, thanks
I dont know about giving birth, but I'm sure I'd take that over breaking my pelvis - *thats* painful!
an 7/28 and ar 6/18 clue please?
aha, i knew i loved jeffer
which an7/28?
you guys will hate yourselves - to be sanctified with oil
une the last please
I am missing a SE 5. I have the one after the 4/4
i won't hate myself i just need the ar6
an7/28 more anxious, nervous
hursh, think about that element we were saying wasn't in the grid
ar6 Ar***** Hall
minus the "i"
well, Ar-- Hall minus an i
ty uneaixoise - twice!
yw!
so on the st's - there is an st 5, then an st4, then 4 more st 5's?
amanda, I always think that needs 2 n's
well good - we wouldn't really want that, would we.
dang i know we've had that before and i always think it's not there because i think i'm just wanting it from greek!
thank you....that gave me fireworks.
3 5
congrats, alien!
3 5's and a 6
congrats to Alien. I am still off with 46 left.
absolutely correct, CadFan
ugh... okay
Yay Alien!
well I can give hints now if needed.
30 left, but have to get some real work done. bye peoples :)
what's that se after the first 4 that just got mentioned
me too cliffy....
add anther vowel at the end.
that's after the second 4, i thought you said there was one after the first
in that case what is the other se5?
right, add a different vowel
You know - I hate those easy ones starting you right in the face....
oh ok, fun
oooh....there are 2 se 5's after the 1st 4/4
Ok, all - have been here way too long, though it was fun. See you tomorrow!
i've got them both now alien, i misread and thought you were saying after the first 4, not 4/4
bye amanda
bye
i mean, bye amanda
hi everyone
hey there firefly
bye amanda, hi firefly
are any of the sn's 6's?
hurshy, has noble been on lately?
just 4's and 5's
mmm, can't quite remember when he was last on, firefly. he's more into role-playing games than babble i think.
ty une
oh, he'd been on for several days in a row, thought maybe he'd still be around as much
well, he doesn't want to overwhelm everyone with his enthusiasm :) he thinks babblers can only handle him in infrequent doses.
i totally understand! lol, but he was fun anyways
he was!
i'm sure he'll be around now and then. he tends to get on between like 5 and 9 eastern US time (4 and 8 babble time)
oh i remember he did stop by monday for his dairy product day
i wondered if he'd be on then... :)
also, just wondering, has mikey in berlin been on since the spat with nobel?
yes, he was on the next day, and then not since, i believe.
didn't know there was a spat but noticed he was missing
*noble
he went off in a huff
because?
the whole thing seemed silly to me, but to each his own
because we didnt appreciate him enough
because he enjoyed being huffy...?
The in6/21 plz.....
or something like that
because noble was being noble, and he couldn't understand that, and felt oppressed by all
well put firefly :)
and HURSH LOVES CHS!!!
not sure what that means, but ok
noble was being ignoble, actually! :)
thank you Atalante
which part Une?
i guess i don't know about Noble
noble was being a typical teenage boy, and mikey's dignity was offended by his attitude
noble's 14, everything he says is a joke, he teased mikey, it didn't go over well
noble is a 14 year old boy, he's a bit overwhelming at times, and he was pestering Mikey about his German
oooohhh, gotcha
ce 8/45 has me beat - clue?
well put, Ata
Noble is a kid with a smart mouth. Most of us found him entertaining and/or shrug-off-able. Mikey couldn't shrug it off.
SCD - was that supposed to be a clue, 'cos if it was, I don't understand it.....
oh, right, i remember that day--had forgotten
no movieman, that's the one i'm missing. i'll look now.
Mikey took him too seriously, and couldn't let it go, and made a mountain out of a molehill
aha, CHS, it's part of your foot!
in6/21 part of a foot / shoe ... in + st4/5
SCD, Atalante- ty, ty, TY......
hiya sha
let's talk h's, anyone interested in talking h's?
Missing a j now, the 3rd jo5/20.....
you can't keep up with them CHS
i'm interested hurshy, i'm missing one
3rd jo5 is what your elbow is . . . and your knee
which box abe?
then plural
ce 8/45 has me beat - clue?
jeffer - it's like an in7
don't have it either
i'm missing one from second row, 3 from top corner
so i'm actually missing 4. sorry une, i don't have that one either
i meant sorry jeffer
ty hurshy
ooh, i'm missing one from top and 2 from second row
Une, I'm looking for the 3rd jo5/20, the 4th jo5.......
I've got all the top ones
abe have you got the cab you can ride in central park?
ooooh, Shirley Jo***
Bob Jo--- University
maybe a 4/5 combo h + picnic pest and pl
got 2 ha4/6 hursh?
TY, Une.....
yup
i have the picnic pest combo. not the cab
3x ha5/12?
abe do you have a group of concubines and pl?
the cab sounds like an adjective for a goodlooking man
nope, naturally i miss a 5/12
:)
thought you might!
i thought i made up that 5/12 as an abbr for a good looking man, whilst describing my cat marty!
who knew it was a real word?
10 to go!
thanks for the cab, hurshy. i haave the concu.
yep, old english
and thanks atalante
how many letters has the sw got that isnt part of the 4 word combo?

i still need one...
ho6/21 more like the thing you use to water plants

ho4/9 inventor of the sewing machine
um... clear
sadly, i do have good old elias

ok, do you have the very rude sing and pl meaning "gay"
how mani wordz 2day
yup
251
251
very pale blue atalante. You working on a picutre?
yup :)
i don't think it can be that rude since it just means "same"...
the 4 ho's--verb, noun, noun pl, present tense?
or extreemely pale shade of grey
yes got those also une
it must be a fish... :(
true
oooh I can show you the line art draft - http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/33 753959/

hooray for une
Whew!! :-)
it was the affectionate term one
yep, think i've seen that here before
hubby/wife?
i'm sure i have too but i despair of ever having a day where i remember ALL the babblets.
hello.
the stuff bees make, shortened, charm
oh, i'm the same!
i miss 3 N's. i have one na, a pl with no singular
ahhh - need more carbs. thanks, hurshy!
rhymes with on4/4
i haven't got any nu's
no nu's and only one na
and i do NOT understand if those a6's count why the corresponding n5's don't
i'm missing one h from the top corner, i have laughs, good looking abb., picnic pest combo, rabbit/ pl, concubine/ pl, and corned beef
ok that is good to know just no and ne for me then
me 5/12 please i have the atoms one
oh, abe, make an abbr for goodlooking that is 5 letters
That is looking good Atalante!! Ata - if you see CadFan online, do look at her icon as it so looks like a painting that one of your etherial characters would emerge from.
do you have the variant on what a ghost does?
oooh I'll keep an eye out! One of my friends challenged me to do a Watership Down pic - so that's what came out :)
Really!!! this is interesting cos i saw the film and I can see where you get your rabbit "icons" style from.
i have 3 ne, all 4's... ?
thanks hurshy
there's a ne 5/
want more info, hursh?
i do i do jeffer ;)
if it's weird, then yes!
OK time for me to be off. Fished word and the grid ages ago. HAve a good evening all and see you in the morning.

it's a sound, majmom...
thanks for the clue before jeffer, my boss just called and interupted my babbling
rhymes with st5/14
wh 5/24 cartoon noise for a big smack
like if an elephant landed on the ground it would make this sound
1 is Greek, 1 is similar to current events
good clue bonkler - so fast too
oh i have that
hi everyone !
ty got it
hi helenkeller
i am losing track of what i have
hey, helen!
yw abe79
ok so i have 4 no's from the bottom

barring nh or anthing wacky...
greek i should be able to get...good golly..
oh joy
oom everyone! nice to meet you.
i raced to do 168 last nite, so have 83 left & a table full of bills & insurance paperwork waiting - hmmmmmm
me 5/12 please i have the one that sounds like a stoneworker
what ARE you talking about on the greek bit ata?
hello, woc
and hi helen
sorry jeffer, I don't have it
its a Greek word - I had no clue it existed in English as well!
what part of speech?
oh i got it
yay
ok so one more no which if they take that case they should take...
but i already did a little paperwork, so now i rewarded myself with sudoku (which succeeded in totally making me forget about the horrors on the dining room table) now i willling am letting myself get sucked into this
but they don't.
so how come no one else here has housewife icons?
but they DO take it in that!
its the spirit of law in ancient Greece
sorry helen, it takes so much longer for the site to refresh these days that it discourages me from changing my icon as much
even though this WAS my suggestion... :)
*dance of done with 5's*
*undance of 3 more 6's*
awwwww & yes, i see it was your suggestion -it's just that i'm loving the icon part now that i'm pro :)
i need an R and have no 6's there - are there any?
hi. back again to find a few more. not progressing to far on those darn coverletters. Arg! i hate those things.

une - any R 6's :) :) :)
oom, oom don't you get it! my grand-daughter thaught it was funny. She signed me up and give me this name. I love to play babble and she didn't like me playing on her game. you know my grand-daughter as scribble.
r6 rhymes with the goodlooking cab! :-)
LOL smaz -sure, anything you want - yuck, yck, gack - i hate dealing with those people - the phone menus, the transfering, the being on hold, the total idiots !!!
oh how fishy!
Alien ty got two from there
(that's the only r6)
*smacks self with fish*
a) yes, i get it, that is why i said hello, woc (get it?) b) SO NICE to meet scribble's grandma!
how DID i miss that?
I just keep pressing 0 until i get an operator. i never deal with those dumb phone games. And yes they are idiots.
any M6?
hello everyone........miss y'all and babbling...been very sick with a viral infection.......:(
scribble talks alot about you hurshy. She thinks your great!
oh, sorry to hear that, mimie.
Hello Mimie. Sorry you have been sick. Hope you are feeling better.

4 p's
hmm, my 3 are all plurals in one way or another... can you tell me what i might be looking for?
It's time for the bangers (and I don't mean sausages!!!!!!!)..........
hi kids.
no 5 x p6
hurshy, the 6/33 is used to take calluses off feet
oh shoot i miscounted i DO have all 4 p6's
but now i'm confused cause none of them are worth 33
so i guess there are 5
how many words r in this puzzle..:)
sorry, i meant 6/30
but yay, thanks abe, i know that word!
well, still, it turns out there ARE 5 P6's
smaz - sorry, finally someone returned a phone call -yeah, that's what i do too, just keep pressing '0' my insurance has this thing where after you do that about 1000 times, they say, may i just ask you a few more ?'s before i connect you with the operator - UHHHHHH - and why is it i take 2 dif. bp meds????
leaving me one word to go! :) :) :)
lol. helenkeller.
but now on to more pleasent things : this fine grid & you fine (& very helpful) people
this may help. when i know i am going to have to deal with the wrong department, i always start off by saying 'I'm sorry, i am really clueless and am quite sure i have the wrong department, but is it possible you may assist me." Once i find someone who has been very helpful, i always ask if i can call them back direct so not have to explain everything all over again. I am dealing with the state of OR right now and i have found a very, very nice and helpful person.
Atalante did you get that me 5/12?
yeah smaz- i actually have tried that - only the rare perons 'at the top' or 'near the top' has actual, direct lines - it is supremely frustrating - but thanks for letting me blow off steam
anyone need a hint
In case anyone didn't quite get the gist of my last post, I was trying to say "I've Finished!!!!!!!!!!".........
yay movieman!
and alien
WTG MOVIEMAN !!!!!!!!

hooray for CHS!!!
i can't wait to get fireworks again. i've only done it once.
me 5/12 - not the particle?
today is your day, smazing
me 5/12 add the beginning of an adj that means stealthy
any help with Na 5/12?
thanks for the boost abe79, but even if i finish i am not pro yet and don't believe i get that benefit.
mesneaky hmmm maybe not :)
lizzi, cut the beginning off a trap and make it pl
yeah atl -that's how i see tht too
lizzi, na 5/12 sounds like a drum, minus the first letter. smazing, you'll have to settle for "chat log' fireworks then!
ata - i said the BEGINNING :)
I don't think there is a NA 5/12. There is a 5/10 though
i missed it clothes, what are you begging 4?
does anyone have any very very weird s4's?
ty hurshy
non-pro's don't get fireworks anymore?

Hi everybody! I just finished & will give clues, even to sincere trolls lol! What's up today?

helen - we are! but surely there are better places to eat in op and fp than pompei!
hi smazing, all! Hey, helen! up... very highest... up + a mo 4/5 (not more... al**** all)
claire - two people post lists of the words by their first 2 letters and length, and it tells you the total words and stuff... there are links at the bottom of the page - try either lickety's page or babblers anonymous, first post under general.
up +mo 4/5
hey helen! how are you doing on this grid?
yeah, but we had the dogs, so we had to find someplace outside plus it was rainy on & off & our first 2 choice wouldn't open their outside tables for us
does your stepson know about the dog park in forest park? it's great - my boxer and i go there all the time.
thankyou, il check it out!
its a shame that trolls have got so boring these days. they used to be much more annoying
the first sn 5/12 please?
but hey, pompeii - i like it, used to go to the one on southport once in a while
ls1 - Forest Park? What state r u talking about?
thanks. not sure why i did not see that one
ata fredandkate never gave up though
and i'm not sure why it's taking me so long to monkey a silly little s4!
ls1 - yeah -we were going to go to the dog park after lunch actually, but the pups were down for the count, :)
erda had the right idea everyone
smazing - chicago suburb
clothes u RUDE........back off..........
jeffer... lst sn... + not I am but you *** (put en in front and you have en 7/28)
he seems to have landed on me as his benefactor of childish banter. oh, well.
sn5/12= what an assassin does.
bex - thats because they are both annoying and simply have no life
ah, his not bothering me.
don't take it personally, smazing, i am a favorite tasty dish for trolls
i suppose :)
oh, ls1 because we have a Forest Park where i am at. Largest city park in the nation
ino hurshy trolls seem to be attracted to u :)
where are you?
trolls dont realise that they just look really really sad
re: trolls.... waaaaay back in grade school I had a liitle colllection of plastic trolls when their hair was still wool.... it's good luck to yank on a troll's hair lol!
hah.
let's see...who told me to step in... which little voice in my head was it, there are so many it's hard to keep track...
oh, i loved those little trolls weegee.
ty aveneeko and weegee i have those seeking the first sn 5/12 please
ls1 - i forget who it is who lives in lisle - mamabear lives almost directly south of us, toesockmonkey is in the city, & i forget where leslie ann lives, she may be the one in lisle
lol troll, have fun with your anger.
smazing, you remember, too? My mom (78 now) actually saved mine for me
no, you know, the voices - don't you hear them?
weegee those trolls are amazing :)
if you're really pissed clothes, punch the screen as hard as you can when smazing posts again
*snicker*
LOL..........
i think that everyone in the chat room is old enough to know better except one. let's just let that one be.
that was nice of her weegee. My niece used to line up about 50 of them in her closet. She loved to collect them.
LOL too
LOL bonkler
ok jeffer... sorry. If you pound something flat you smash it, right? change 2nd letter (dumb word)
Aww. spoil the fun.
those trolls always scared me when I was a kid.
ty weegee!
i think you're right helen it is leslieann. just think of all these people who don't live in chicago and feel bad for them!
sigh. it's always harder to find a word when you thought you'd already entered it. finally done.
alien, me too! especially in the middle of the night when their little eyes seemed to glow. I think I had maybe 15 or so. yw jeffer. need others
well done hurshy
good job hurshy!
woohoo well doen husrhy!!!!
yeaaah! hurshy!

Horrah Hurshy! Don't leave, you'll miss the troll!!
were those trolls supposed to have clothes? i remember i had one with orange hair and it was nekkid.
shwoosh - ka - boom!
Som of mine had clothes
my fave word today is the ar 6/18... Like Ar***i* Hall, former (failed) talk show host
*some
I think they were naked....come to think of it.
oh i can't go anywhere for at least an hour yet anyway, my students are examinating
ls1 - so if ever you are in the dog park with your boxer, and see a tall reddish-haired guy with a tiny baby pom & a blonde with a very fluffly pom - that'll be us, feel free to say hi - if you want :))))
Fran, yes! those little trolls were naked! I sewed little felt clothes for them & added beads, sequins, the whole shebang ... ah, youth!
They had vests and skirts
um ... lets think ...
weegee - that's so darned cute :))
a troll is a troll is a troll is a troll
we call all rude people on this chat-site trolls. If you wer't so rude, we wouldn't call you a troll.
morning all...clues needed for AN7.28 and JO5.20 pls.
btw _ WTG Hurshy !!!!
would you prefer gremlin? or poltergeist?
how martha stewart of you weegee! ;-)
jo: very common last name
an 7/28 - more fidgety jo5/20 - you can't keep up with them
jo 5/20 - common surname
Did your mom save the little outfits too, weegee?
troll takes less time to type than snot gobbler
yah, but that's a good one bonkler.
fran mag !!! :)))) finally, someone else with the themed icon - i was feeling like a 'party of one'
jo 5/20s, to become a member, marijuana jo***, and Shirley Jo***
woohoo i have 50 words :)
i'm trying to finish quietly on the side here and the chat keeps sucking me in!!
smazing, yes, she saved the clothes too, in - get this- a little case I used to take to ballet class when I was 7!!
cool helen. and you ever see a dog that greatly resembles a real boxer but isn't quite - that's us
ok let me go get an icon now that i'm done
we will leave you a long for a big franmag
i still have 76, i am chatting so i finish slowly & procrastinate going back to bills & insurance crap, not to mention the fun of the chat, of course
an: an + fourth then third vowel + things squirrels eat minus vowel.
That's great weegee! My mom through out all my stuff... legos, lincoln logs, etc.
it's no one's fault smazing, i'm just drawn to the delightful company!
hey helen, i have 88 to go, are you using the list?
ok ls1 - play dates for our dogs, is yours a boy or girl & what's your doggie's name? mine is ginger-snap-dragon-owski (that's her full name)
smazing, I feel for you... but moms has an attic, a full basement AND a 2-car garage... makes a difference when there's all that room
no fran - are you?
that's great! mine's deano - long story
yes, :-( got to half and gave up
well im going now see everyone another time bye!
by the way - my icon's a desperate housewife!
bye bex!
oh, that wasn't there problem. she had a 4200 sq foot house. She justed liked to get rid of stuff as soon as we were out the door. Got rid of all the entire sets of nancy drew, hardy boys, bobbsie twins and any other series you can think of.
(whispers) did we wish away the trolls?
bye bex
by bex
oh, bye bexie!
by bex777. have a nice day.
lol ls1 - is your dog part of the 'rat pack'?
shhh weegee.
or does he just ilke martinis? lol
I saw that ls1, mrs. C definitely qualifies!
shhhh..he went to sleep...better yet, he went away.................
smazing... if your mom had heard of ebay at least you could have bid on your own stuff! (not really funny tho, I know)
absolutely. he actually looks much more like the dinosaur
he ate some poisoned mushrooms and RIP
LOL>>>>>>>>>>>>
yes, ls1 - saw it before, but thought it was for sitcoms, but we haven't gotten there yet, have we - hey, it's so much fun to be losing your mind !!!
oh, it was a long time ago.
lol ls1 - uh, the green dinosaur?
Can I please have some clues for the p6's? I have the volcano one already.
yes - that was his name at the rescue place. my son insisted that we keep it but i said only if we could change it to the name of my first childhood crush
i have 2 grey boxes & it's already after 3!!!! yikes, may go to the list soon too, fran
p6: thing you write with + multiple males
pe 6: writing... ends in ship
avaneko, one of the P6s is plural of a rock climbing implement
I went to the list after 129.
gotta go - cya later
pens
i like is ls1 and my first boyfriends were ski's too. Lots of them in central WI.
p6 guys who write, guys who go down into a *** (of despair perhaps), pl of a bean...
sorry
awww, that's so cute ls1 & i think it's commendable that you have a rescue :) well done!
bye ls1!
pi: type of car
another pi 6 is plural of a kind of pony
Oooh! Thanks guys!
also name of Ford car... lol!
i'm all desperated up if you want to refresh...
or a bean
ty alien....:)
pi6: deep hole + multiple males
why WOULD you name a car after a bean
i think rescues are the best - cats or dogs.
arg those combos. They always get me.
last pi 6/24: what's inside a peach + more than l man
because it farted a long?
lol
Well it was the same way that Chevy names their car Nova.
d then they tried to sell it in Mexico. WHere Nova means, no go.
lol too
i had to refresh to see your new icon hurshy - rad that you went to get one, but when you came back it was still the milk glass - i didn't know that I, the viewer, had to refresh also
Really aveneko! That's a hoot.
bye ls1
I can go with pi*** and Vega, but the PROBE just makes me think of assault by aliens!
Isn't it though?
smazing *gasp*
anyone else need a clue before I go home?
may i have a hint ho6?21 please
yes helen - that's always been the case
Shoo!
*sssh
the ____ truth. It's a virtue.
avaneko *gasp*
Lol
We're on a roll
h: being truthful
what is the total points possible>
3194 points
are you chicken salad?
thanx again alien...............
thanks alien. i think it's been about 20 minute since i even tried to find a word.
3 ho 6/21s... last is another name for stockings, pantyhose, etc., w/o the y on the end
who? chicken salad? me? where?
Yes. Yes I am.
avaneko said you guys were on a roll... roll joke
just roll with it smazing
ok, will do!
hurshy's a card!
Help with as 6/30?
hallmark?
I've got to get back to work... sigh... as 6: a+ lst sw 5/18 (old word for faint)
i want to be the very BEST card
Nope, joker.
There only the best, hurshy!
bye weegee :( workis sad)
jokes are my hallmark
Thanks weegee. Bye.
bye weegee. Have fun with the trolls. You can make it your icon. or maybe not!
i'll be back later folks, time to stretch and take ibuprophen
by bonkler!
see yah bonkler...........
yw hithere... happy babbling. smazing, when I finally break down & go pro I'll look for a troll icon
byes!
hmmm, on inside edition, they just said it was illegal in CA to sell pups 5 -7 weeks old - i think 7 & sometimes even 6 weeks is just fine - esp. 7 is the perfect time
bye bonkler
i have to think of an icon too.
au revoir leavers
hmm, interesting that they would make it a law.
see yah hurshy.thanx 4 your help............
but people who run puppy mills really ought to be shot - no wait, better they just be subjected tot the same conditions they impose on the pups!
is lickety's list missing the fist ce?
Hear! Hear! Helen
oh i'm not leaving i was just saying bye to the leavers
makes me very mad
the first ce is a 5/12
followed by 6/21
Oh, don't get me going. I hate the fact that people don't spay or neuter their cats.
I have a 4/5, 5/12, 6/21 that doesn't seem like it'd fit in the list...but I'll give it a go
mine are all spayed or neutered as applicable :)
it's sensless how many animals have to be put down.
we bred german shepherds for a few years, we took it very seriously, i always worried, what if no ones buys these dogs, but most people bought immediatley! those were good days
Yeah, hurshy!
we got them fixed very young
that's the best way.
we have an excellent relationship with our vet - makes house calls for us. hubby has a guard dog business, all shepherds, many are rescues, & he gave them jobs, lol. but they are working dogs & they really do like to work!
it's all in how you raise dogs - i know hardly anything about cats
hello all
darn those phantom words! 'moisten' 'monster'
hi nrkii.
hiya nrkii :))
hi nrkii!
I know!
you feed em, comb them, make sure their cat litter is clean and that's about it.
what about 'women' that's all i keep seeing
There seem to be a lot of phantoms today.
hi nrkii!!
emotions is what i want to see.
i used to go out with a guy who said the same thing, hellenkeller. ;-)
yes helen! that's another one i'm torn over
lol jbp
i'm just sayin'
and mention
how many ce's are there?
just monkey typed a word. now what it means, not a clue.
11
11 ce's
homie isn't a word"?!
cool thanks james and hurshy
I know!
okay i have 70 left & it just keeps saying 'word already entered' - i think my game is broken - going to list
I was sad.
hah, looking for more phantom words i found a real one! glad i didn't type it in the chatter box :)
i have the one that sounds like to feel, and it's -er, pennie + plural...clues, anyone?
about what avaneko. i looked away and missed it.
cent
cents
That homie wasn't a word
fizzle!
oops Fiz!
penny + end of abbr for long long car, and pl
the one i found is an acronym of the bean/car/horse. + plural
a vintner makes wine, so perhaps a ce7 makes pennies? (not a great clue, sorry)
and that has a plural
and then the other ce8 is like an in7
hurshy, that was a great clue!
thanks hurshy! i don't get the penny + long car ending one tho?
yes that was great hursh:)
i dunno nrkii, i felt like it gave too much away.
you know, a stretch... is a long car
or give the penny a spanish ending
yeah, maybe, but I'll take it at this point -- apparently I didn't pray hard enough last night!!!
yes, like "the freshmaker"
Hah!
in 7 that the ce is similar to... is it sound or trap
no but jbp i mean add more of the long car, all but the first letter
sound
That could be a word too.
yes the freshmaker ones i thought someone else covered so i didn't mention them
what about the first ce 5/12? I can't seem to monkey type it :$
ah, finally, got it.
sorry to be dense... i don't get the car... i get what kind, but I can't make the letters behave
it sounds like the pennies jamsicle
letters 2, 3, and 4, jbp
I seem to forget to look up. thx
Okay I'm out everyone. Finally got to 215. I'm going to leave the rest for later.
by avaneko
how many ci's please?
i still don't get it... sorry
4 ci's
4
i'll come back to it later
any LOST fans? i see Hanso is in the grid today...(not a word tho)
maybe
4 ci's
I am!
I have ci 4/5, 5/12 and 4/5 -- missing?
well, i have gotten to 157 words today and not one cover letter and as it is early afternoon i should get 2 done. my goal for the day. See you guys later. Nice to chat with you. FYI I hit the gold mine. My first chat log. Love the game, love the chat. *** Helen, r u working on your insurance?
i like hansolo :)
seeya smazing!
nrkii another 4/5 that sounds like a trig function
citron is another phantom
and the ci5?
bye smaz - nope, threw in some laundry, got some knrunchers & back to grid, lol
hurshy -- yes!
pl of the second ci4
jpb -- ce7/36: penny + sounds like Pixar's kid moving 'Finding N***"
insurance,sminsurance
never mind. it sounds like the opposite of religion.
I feel like I did pretty well today -- got 150 with just the letters, no tile stats, got another 30 with the tiles, and now picked up another 10 from your help here... 61 to go --> will go to lickety's list soon I think.
nice job nrkii!
Jams, thanks, but unfortunately, I think I'm just about out of ideas... :)
Anyone listening to music?
only in my head ktf
Heh
ehh... you prolly just need a break nrkii.
sorry, watching jeopardy, no music here
are there any re words, like to do something again?
I have Muse playing. *grin*
I'm listening to the dulcet tones of almost-4-year-olds.
there are re words, and they are easy today
Oops, I said a word! ;)
none prefix, firefly :)
vic...i am not familiar with their oeuvre... and i would like to keep it that way
yes! thanks hurshy - is this a first? probably not, but whew! a nice break
no "do again" words hurshy?
and one from yesterday vi
nope, not a one, nrkii
One thing you can say about their music: it varies wildly from song to song!
yay!!!
True, although if you weren't allowed to use any word that ever appered in the grid, the chat log would be much quieter.
i know but i just remembered cause i love that word
im missing a 'w'... i have the 4/10 5/20 and 4/8/..anyone know the other?
okay, i'm drawn back into the chat! vicuna, what are you listening to? was it a child's recital or something?
help with my last J please? I have Israelites, loo, loos, bring together, plus 3 words that have same beginning, last name, and rhymes with polka D***
"ah! my dulcet darling! tonight, we marry! tomorrow mornig, your men [to yellin] will escort us to florin harbor, where every ship in my armada waits to accompany us on our honeymoon."
rolin, 5/24
what's the w 4/10?
wh 5/24 - meaning pummel
nrkii, like your lower ja*, just change the vowel
its a pronoun?
Every ship but your four fastest, you mean
w 4/10 is w 5/24 without last letter
thanks nrkii!
No recital, just chatter. Mostly a discussion of whom my daughter is drawing pictures for, punctuated by the sounds associated with bonking into the corner of a table...
I keep thinking 'dulcet and harmonious breath' from A Midsummer Night's Dream
cool..got it..thx all
yes, yes of course, naturally not those four
Anyone have a clue for the ce 7/32 8/45 combo I'm guessing?
shoot, I had the last JO as well (JO 4/13), so it's another one I'm missing
nrkii FOUR that start the same way
clue on the jo 4/13?
so 5 total?
i get it now vicuna, i thought someone actually recorded 4 year-olds singing!! okay back to the grid for me!
i get it now vicuna, i thought someone actually recorded 4 year-olds singing!! okay back to the grid for me!
jbp, see clue at 3:45
can I get a clue for me 5/12 I have the my offspring one.
Well, Fran, I'm sure someone has, but I certainly wouldn't listen to it by choice!
jo 4/13, many southerners eat hog jo 4/13 with one letter added
oh, i have that one fran
you never sent the ships. don't bother lying. it doesn't matter, my westley will come for me anyway.
jmmmmm
nrkii, do you have the je4/9 that is an anagram of 5/20 minus the S?
Ha ha, hurshy, I killed him myself! (to paraphrase)
you're a silly girl
(no he doesn't say that until the wedding vi)
je 5/20?
yes, i am a silly girl, for not having seen sooner that you were nothing but a coward with a heart full of fear.
True, but I figured we might as well skip to the chase!
FRAN!!!!
SKIP, when i'm having such fun?
jbp, last name, also means to crave something
But if you prefer, "I would not say such things if I were you!"
NRKII!
fran..thx for the clue..but it hasnt been listed in dictionary.com...do you know what it means?
when i get married in august, we're trying to find someone who will start the ceremony off a la Peter Cook...
oh, like how I jo***for more brainpower
no rolin, maybe hurshy knows
tx fran, that was it!
and why not? you can't hurt me. westley and i are joined by the bonds of love, and you cannot track that, not with a thousand bloodhounds. and you cannot break it, not with a thousand swords. and when i say you are a coward that is only because you are the slimiest weakling ever to crawl the earth!
I WOULD NOT SAY SUCH THINGS IF I WERE YOU!!!
slimiest?
my sister was married 2 years ago and the minister started just like peter cook
On purpose, pabtrek?
how come hojo isn't a word?! ;-)
*humperdinck rushes buttercup to her chamber*
*runs down to the pit of despair*
i think we're going to
Greetings......"You killed my father. Prepare to die."
hiya minski
you truly love each other, and so you might have been truly happy. not one couple in a century has that chance, no matter what the storybooks say. and so i think no man in a century will suffer as greatly as you will!
clue for me 5/12; I have the my offspring one please Hurshy, is that a pic of you?
hi minski
on purpose, vicuna
jpb, the MO4/10 word is there though, that thing that austin powers had stolen
hey minkski! cute babe!! (the pic)
Phew, pabtrek!
that was the first word of my babble today, fran
oh no phandmd, it's andrea bowen, jule from desperate housewives
NOT TO FIFTY!!!!
Oh, I don't watch that show
it was hilarious, unfortunately, I was a bridesmaid and it was very hard not to laugh out loud
We are going to the Cape for the weekend. Had to make an emergency trip to Target for a life jacket and beach shoes for 17 month old. Took all afternoon and costed over $100 (of course). Difficult to get out of Target with just what you went in for.
it's supposed to be today's icon them phandmd
Yeah, I saw that last night.
are there any un words today?
anyone have that me 5/12 word?
anybody know what posset is?
No way the mo4/10 and its plural are words but NO**ER isn't!!
jbp, no
just up
just an UP word
phandmd, not ignoring, just haven't found it
thx. nrkii. i have no me words sorry phan.
up6 is most important in your mind
a posset is a warm drink with herbs that you're supposed to drink when you're sick, especially if you're several centuries ago
hurshy!
O.K. I'll keep looking / or check back later
me 5/12 add beginning of a word that means stealthy me 5/12 add not daughter
i don't get it, the up one, i mean
so it might include ale then vi?
what nrkii?
your up 6 clue
thanks hurshy
I'm not sure. I know wine and/or milk might be involved... Why?
as in master of my own (de)me*** sort of
me5/12: Any of a family of subatomic particles that participate in strong interactions, are composed of a quark and an antiquark, and have masses generally intermediate between leptons and baryons. OR a word that combines myself and my male child.
oh, it was silly wasn't it
jbp - reread hurshy's clue for the up6. The 4 letter word you need is in it.
but thank you for the me stealthy hint!
this is what happens when you try to do a crossword and give clues at the same time
ha!
for the crossword, vi :)
Ah, I see.
so last night I finally got around to the Sunday NYT crossword, and I got stuck on a clue for a French capital...
could not see what it was
got the first letter N and the last letter Y and it was 5 letters, but still couldn't see it
oh, not least
F is the capital of France.
IT WAS MY NAME!!!!
vic...hee hee
sorry, french city
LOL nrk
capital of a region
is wesnurse on?
is tijani on?
yeah helen, I felt absurd when I finally filled in the other letters
how many PE's today?
I know, nancyrkii. Merely persiflage.
I have 3 PE, 12 PI, 1 PU...
that's too funny, wait it that my hand in front of my face, lol
can a little stream be a ridlet?
I think you want runlet, hurshy.
never heard of that, heard of rivulet
brooklet
i heard of rivulet but that is too long
runlet...i think doesn't work bc i'm pretty sure that passenger vessel is liner
not luner :)
so, about those P's...?
if you make coins, why can't you unmake them?
how about runnel
and if i put a d in to make ridlet, that gives me edgar as an english composer
8 there are 8 pe
and 13 pi
wow, okay, that will be a fun challenge then, thanks
no i am sure it is ri*let, just wondering about the D
Your composer should be Elgar.
Making rillet, I suppose, which isn't too unreasonable.
and how come we can't make "snack again"?
ok so rillet then
i'll look it up and see :)
Well, a rill is a stream, so it should work.
well, i'll have to flee work now; see you all tomorrow. ;-)
Bye, jbp!
bye jbp!
ciao all
bye jbp
yes, rill = small stream, rill= yet smaller stream
i mean rillet

Jera it is a plural of en6/33
SA 6/18 = spanish holy ones
temple, I only have 2 ce8s, they're both based off a ce4....one is spanish coins, the other is units of measurement in eastern europe (sounds like it might be people)
no idea on the third ce8 or the pe8
thans nrkii that was one of them ;-))
Oops, crabby man is back...Later all!!
anybody know what the trim on a uniform is called? a*let
aglet
thanks temple!
I think a g, hurshy, temple, the last ce8 ends in musical sounds.
aglet/aiglet is actually the word for the holes for shoelaces
oh we have only had that one HOW many times! TY!
thanks vicuna!
the g works, i was stupid and didn't realize elevator part was "cage"
(Not the same as the one we had yesterday, temple, but an anagram, thereof.)

the idea of a water pump in centuries old, and that's all this is really, except instead of sucking water, im sucking life. I've just sucked one year of your life away. Some day i may go as high as ten, but i don't know what that would do to you, so please this is for posterity's sake, so be honest. How do you feel?
i'm giving my final exam here and my two most hard-working students are really doing their utmost. they've been here almost 5 hours!
oof.
oh boreetos, you know how to sweet talk a girl
;)
you killed my father, prepare to die
what do you teach hurshy?
we are men of action, lies do not become us.

It's "you keeled my father, prepare to die!"
alright then. what else am I stuck on.... ho 5/14, 4/5, 5/12, right at the top of the hos

well spoken, sir
singular fish, ornith
oh you mean you DON'T have those.
plural fish then
hey mary and is1, my bro and I always say that!
to sharpen, person who sharpens, pl, and sharpens
I'm such a dork for that movie. They just had a midnight showing of it at a theatre here in Seattle.
it's a regular in our house too
what do you mean by fish?
But you didn't REALLY kill your father, ( did you?)
I think that's great.
oh sorry ornith - when we miss something easy (like a plural of a word we have) we hit ourselves with a fish
no, we just say that.
what movie?
ahhhh.
ce 7/32?
what movie!!!?
its awesome. "murdered by pirates is good"
my dad is alive and well, thank God

chapter 1. buttercup was raised on a small farm in the country of florin. her favorite pastimes were riding her horse and tormenting the farmboy that worked there. his name was westley, but she never called him that...
hurshy, are those trolls from earlier from your school, by any chance?
missing several hos, actually.
no indeed, shirin
hoje
some words are soooo getting pimpslapped.
sorry
which do you mean, shirin, the whole group of them that was on at once a week or two ago?
"yeah...its really good."
I wonder how they found this website
the ones I say earlier
their teacher, mr. carlson, told them they could play on here, i think, and then left them alone, from what i've heard from the school administrators. (they said the name of the school so i called the principal)
wait what happened?
the troll from today i don't know anything about.
or has there been more than one troll today?
and then, what happened?
ok, just need that one ho5/14 at the top now :) anyyyyyone?
what happened when?
maybe it was just one. I was just glancing earlier today during work
plural fish, ornith - there's a 4/6 before it, oui?
after you called the principal
Need help with SA 6/18 and SA 5/10..
*hits self with fish* yes, and I didn't see the plural because I was looking from the wrong H.
oh ok shirin then i was misled by your use of the plural and thought you meant the horrendous gang of them from before. the principal is trying to figure out which kids it was but since the teacher wasn't in the room it is challenging.
oops - SA 6/18 and SA 10 - I have the ones relating to mentally healthy; grandchild of Japanese immigrants; and a large sandstone block......
yes ornith that is tricky because the singular comes from the 2nd row and the pl from the bottom
any clues for any of the en's?
hi, I have the pe 4/5 and the pe 7/32 but am missing the pe 8 in between ... can someone help with the 5th letter?

or how about tennis shoes
sorry ornith, I meant the clue for uncagain
did you get it uncagain?

lol, that did it. Thanks, now off the dictionary to find out what it means
ornith, I got one of the no's -- it sounds like a short way of saying I don't want you to keep feeding me
then plural
nomoe isn't a word... hmm. hard ones!
I tried that one too!
ornith, you are close, but start from bottom N
that got me one - probably the plural.
I keep wanting nomon to be there, but I think that's really spelled with a silent g in front
ah, got em. yay!
The brain is not functioning. Any clues for the final SA5/10 and 2 SA6/18s, please?
what's the other one? clue please?

i'm assuming when that guy turned the key & then everything went whitish = well, maybe the hatch exploded
Good afternoon all, any clues on pe8/55?
i didn't think it blew up actually! that didn't even occur to me, just thought it was all part of the magnetic weirdness
sorry marc - i don't have it yet
what show are you discussing?

the in6/21 includes an st4
helen, it's thefuselage.com, sorry
Will have to think on that a bit, don't have any st4's yet...
kristinc - i totally agree! i didn't have it yet, but I got it right away, and checking your profile, i'm guessing it's the Mariners you're thinking of (I am!)
firefly :)...yeah the Mariner's are having some issues this year, they could use all the mo 4/10 we can offer. Where in Eastern WA?
I hate this puzzle, grrrr
Jera *sprinkle* *sprinkle* *sprinkle*

Hi Jen

11 j's?!?...you've got to be kidding me!
I love going to baseball games (but not watching them on TV)... been to the Orioles, Florida State, Kansas City, and the farm team for KC, the Omaha Royals (we lived in Omaha)
agreed Jen...baseball on tv doesn't interest me at all but I like watching it live (besides, the last place you can still bring in outside food)
Thanks faerie... my silly husband proceeded to answer the d@mn phone when it was an unknown caller... then handed the stupid salesperson (which of course it was) to me...
sarah says you're meeting at her house at 1:00 Sunday just bring yourselves
And not feel guilty about eating lots of hot dogs and drinking lots of beer! :)
I'm also waiting for the last Girl to be picked up from the Scout meeting...

stid...I started an hour ago and halfway there (with chatting), not bad so far
wow -- how's you manage to get the whole day to yourself daisy?
Fran...that's what I though but couldn't tell for sure :)

Ooooh, daisy.... is that Tom Selleck?!?!! He's hot!!

they finally found him some work to do!
AND a Nexicore call on top of that
pe8/55 - start with prefix for five, end with ending of a-bomb or energy from fission
whatever stid...I've played with you before...you do just as well if not better
'bout time, too! Men need work to keep them happy... (of course, so do we, but we're Babblers... a special class!)
everything loaded fine for me first time just now -- did anyone else notice that things seemed to be going quicker/easier today?
Vicuna, got the first part of the pe8 still working on the ending
I'm having computer issues but I think they're independent of the site...seems to be wireless connection issues for me I'm lost on the pe8 too :(
Yeah! I am actually able to put in words quickly today, with no load time (not that I've been entering quickly a lot today)
okay pe8 - first three letters you write with, second three letters male cat or turkey, last two letters make it an adj
peri and kristin, use less of the prefix and more of the bomb!
Vicuna, figured it out before I saw your second clue, thanks,
FranMag, thank you too
pe7/32?
Tom and Matthew are home, going to go finish making dinner, then back later. :-)
Bye stid! :)

All I did was sear it with S/P and that's all it needed. last re 5 is re4 plural (unless you need the re4 + the vowel)
ty Jen-got it
Hey all...Could some one clue me on the ce7/32 and the first ce8/45?

Definitely!
Can you help me on the other ce's?

ce 7/36 is a fraction of a peseta (still starts with the "penny") and it's plural
Yep, ce7/36 is the penny + the last three of the people who are native to Alaska...and then the plural. The 2nd ce8/45 is the same first four + a number + plural.
thanks for the ha5/12 jen! had to feed the baby first, but i googled it and there it was!

TO, singles
You are sooo talented Jen, that's why I admire you so...
no ne5 for me either
Temple, don't forget the number, and the raves we give fireworks.
ne5/10 looks like the word for "to rob" but change the 1st letter from an h to an n
sorry folks...it's the two oo's i need...
oo4/5, oo** and aaahs
ne 5/10 if you like things NEW...you are a ne 5/10
and the other oo is the one that is the ending for the ro4s that give nutrients/water to plants.
oo4/4, opposite of in if you say it like some Canadians!
LOL Jera! I'll crash soon hopefully! Hard time getting to sleep lately (we are talking after 12... and that's WITH the trazodone!) I am resorting to suplementing with melatonin
jee i was all around that oo!
apologies to the Canadians, but every one i've met says it that way!!
BBR, my grandma just called!

tndaisy, I am lost on your ne5 clue...can you lead me a bit more?
hey everyone, 11 more teeth to pull :)

ne + the superlative ending
an sounds like the bomb, but no t as a second letter.
jw: if some one is full of spunk, you could call them fe5 - change the first letter
Need help with the second mo5/12 (I'm sure of it)
hi all
hi daisy, guess who fell in? LOL 121 to go... ;-)

ty daisy, got it!

thanks nrk!! great clue
nrk - i try not to think too hard, so i am having trouble translating your clue :)
me too helen
helen, last two letters are filler for speech givers when you can't think of the next word
you might say "er", but most people say "**" (and when people give speeches and say it every other word, it's really annoying)
huh - just saw it - man, am i dense today or what!?!?!

The 6 wasn't so bad...
ty!
there there jera, we're here for you!
phandmd, imagine you were asking someone to stop beating you, or stop feeding you, or stop doing something to you ... make it a shortened version of that, then pluralize, then change last letter for other one
ra6/21??
hello hetty! he is home and safe. Looking for a new vehicle, but we are very grateful he (and no one else) was hurt

I beg yor pardon, Anniebrook--I thought you told us yesterday you were ten days overdue. It must have been someone else. I have terrible memory for recent events, names places.
woodchick was 3 days overdue - dunno if she still is
there is one helen which is scottish for man? followed by shortened version of something bigger than a hill
methinks Aussieme is preggers also, in the hospital?
do you have what austin powers lost?
i dont have that
and last set is not least but MO** and then add a vowel
fran, have the other ce 8/45?
aussieme is having c-section tomorrow
yes fran - i think it's what nrkii said, but i dont know any word for scot man except laird
yep...Aussie goes in on Friday for a c-section and woodchick was on yesterday...still waiting
M + opposite of OFFS
Thanks dino. How did I confuse Annie with a woodchick? Must have een icons!
feather, plural of the 7/36
good heavens, If I am ten days overdue, please call Ripleys Believe Or Not. Preggers was the last thing I thought of. Funny. I'm a happy grandma.

the 8/45 was the one i clued earlier feather, ends in to5/10

i am very glad no one can strangle me through the computer :)
Annie, one happy grandma to another--LOL
actually, by her time, I think Aussieme is already in the hospital... they're almost a day ahead of me.

yeah aussie's had her by now...it's noon tomorrow out there
okay, good

It sure is. I've been waiting four years and more for a great grandchild--but these days young married people wait till they're in their thirties before starting families

ok, a 4/4 and the 6/21
nite Marc - good job!
do you have the first an 4/4 which looks like scottish for "ones"
yep, it's one in the middle
the 6/21 is like the 6/24 above, but lose the last consonant and put a vowel in its place
there are two an 4/4 in the middle that sound and are spelled almost the same, just change the last vowel
and the other an 4/4 is the picnic pests

well -- like I said, it was just too much to watch the clues flying by and not be able to participate!
I know what you mean, leanne!
leanne, most of the words are used in some way by english speakers, but they are very obscure...
as douglas would say, resistance is futile!
and some of them, i am convinced, are not real words at all!
yes, the vortex caught me and sucked me in...
today's list has japanese, spanish and italian i think
thanks for the clue oggy - hubby helped me compute it :)
