Now I just need to find out what it means...
I googled it -- it's about the seventh down -- shows you diagrams of various ho***s....
Tell you what, I was maoning about the Boggle game earlier, how teams get 118 words in 3 mins and mere fat typing mortals like me get about 39... one feature on there is 'words you got that no one else did'. More often than not it's me named in there with what we call a Babblet ( a weird word regular Babblers know straight off.)
I'm beginning to remember some of the weird words which repeat
dens
heed
I mean mere faSt typing mortals like me, but the fat but probably isn't wrong these days. :-( Big sigh!
needs
irk, jacula, i stopped playing that babble because it was so frustrating for me. try espgame.org instead.

I use etui - I have one sat in front of me now!
That's my mum's favourite NY Times Crossword word, Sue - Sarah made mum an Etui with the word Etui so that my mother could fulfill her ambition of using it in public. Fi - thanks! Great words. Sue, are you going to write a dooyoo revoo?

still stuck on the ha5/12 and ha6/27..
sorry, got kicked off by some background scan on my computer!! button, did you get that word?
ha 6/27 uses the ha 4/6 with out the final letter + the present perfect tense suffix
No, I am still not understanding the clues on de7...it is 5:30 here and I guess i am a little sleepy or just dense!
first 3 letters all the same, sound like "hay" 6 is doING it, 5 is cross letter + plural
Button, do you have de r/16? This is the past tense.
de7 rymes with "reigned" and is spelled like it except for the first letter
Jaianniah, thanks, I just had a mental block on that one.
ha 5/12 is the present tense of the ha 4/5 before it.
I know, that's why I gave you that clue...LOL!
All those ha words are scottish in origin
finally!! im very slow today.. thanks all..
Do you have fireworks, Philod?

well - off to a morning of meetings! see you later and happy babbling all!
bye owl
Bye TO
guess i should head out myself. bye bye.
and cliffy
Bye cliff and lovely son!!
jeepers, i'm having a bad d-day (not the normandy kind)
twisted hursh - funny, but twisted
just call me a cruller
a donut?
yeah, but not just any donut...a cruller.
yeah, but not just any donut...a cruller.
cause they're twisted.
there's my eyes rolling...can you see them?
oh yes...look at them there on the floor - can i play marbles with them?
no...makes it blurry when i put them back in.
hmph, some friend you are. ah well, they don't roll smoothly anyway cause eyes aren't perfect spheres.
and mushy, don't forget mushy. not much clinking going on when you shoot em.
true - a significant drawback.
my d's have improved. now it's my g's that are irking me.
geeeeee - i'd help, but i haven't started the grid.
lol, well what are you waiting for nut?
dog is crimping my style, gotta finish my work up and get him to the vet. he's in pain.
oh poor doggy! what's wrong?
can hardly walk, won't stand up for me, favorin a rear leg strongly, and i'm starting to think maybe dysplasia because a pull would be getting better by now i think.
oh, poor thing, i'm so sorry. i hope the vet can help. i hope he feels better soon.
if nothing else, i'm sure i'll be returning with some pain pills.
it's so hard when your pets are suffering, you just want to protect them from everything and you can't :(
honestly, had to drag him outside to go potty. food and water are delivery only. and he's not the kind to act a baby.
:(
:(
if it is dysplasia, i can only afford pain medication unfortunately, but i shouldn't be jumping, could just be a really bad sprain.
what is the best thing to do for dysplasia?
hip replacement in the cases where severe damage has already been done.
how old is your dog? doesn't dysplasia usually show up early in life?
how old is your dog? doesn't dysplasia usually show up early in life?
he's four. it does start early, but some dogs show now signs because the pain is normal for them. then they are highly active (like my boy) and do lots of damage, and then they get it real bad later. still, this is only speculation. i didn't think it likely before because he's mixed.
well i hope it is just a bad sprain after all! how much is hip replacement? thousands i suppose...tens of thousands?
well i hope it is just a bad sprain after all! how much is hip replacement? thousands i suppose...tens of thousands?
hey katusha
i imagine thousands, not the kind of money ihave put away anyway. heck - i can hardly make my bills.
well we'll all hope it's just a sprain
i do hope, got him an appt for 2:20.
all fingers and toes duly crossed, and i'll pray if that doesn't offend your sensibilities.
evan, it might be a cruciate tear if it is only one leg. thta's about $1000 to fix but a lot of vets will let you pay over time. good luck!
mornin babblers!!
Good morning! If I may jump in on this one, just want to throw another possibility out there about the doggie...
hey evanadine and krispta
hey evanadine and krispta
@#$%%$#^ tv internet!
My friend's dog had the exact symtoms as yours, and it turned out to be Lyme disease.
Hi Hurshy! My human boy has an appt. this morning, too..complete with 5-year vaccinations. Owie.
my dad and my sister have had lyme, it was quite treatable

thanks miss tea and hursh, i was at the potty and prayer does not offend my sensibilities
oh...just don't tell him about the shots...tell him...tell him he's getting a piercing and he'll be the coolest kid in kindergarten
My father is being treated for the 2nd time, my daughter is on meds now (caught early), but my mother waited to long and has bad effects from it.
oh dear, lyme disease is prominent here, two neighbors have it.
he's great with shots, too busy googling at the vet to notice the pinch.
Yes, Hurshy, I could tell him it's a pirate thing. ;) Her dog was limping, too. They never suspected Lyme, but they had to carry him around just like you mentioned!
hey krista. what kind of effects has your mom had. they think my mother may have it, has been sick for going on 25 years
Good morning, Babblers! I have just a few minutes before work and thought I'd see what I can do...
D'OH ummm. forget my last comment. It's early....
Mom's waited a few weeks to go to the dr, so hers aren't as severe as my uncle's, a park ranger for years, so I'll decribe his..basically severe heart and joint problems
The symtoms of long-term damage can really be varied.
No Ks... it is a beautiful day :) Afternoon all.
phantom words for today -- attend/attends/attended
the information states that if you wait too long then the test will know longer read positive. my mom has been sick since i was 15 (i'm 35 this week), severe weakness, chronic pain, immune system shot to the bad place and now parkinsens (sp?) symptoms. it's very sad, she's only 60

anhedonia. that's my phantom. hey spritey :)
anhedonia. that's my phantom. hey spritey :)
taed
oh wow, Leighanne, those symptoms really "fit" Lyme. There can be false negatives, for sure. I'm so sorry she is suffering like that.
(((hurshy))) Did you have a good trip home?
hi sprite, and hello to chatting Babblers (lurking ones too (-:
not home yet. leave in...just over 12 hours
not home yet. leave in...just over 12 hours
We were at the beach last week when we noticed my daughter's bulls-eye rash. My parents had atypical rashes - looked like bruises all over. Good morning, Aloyisius!
Now I remember, you were to leave on thursday. Hope you have a pleasant and fast trip. How are things?
thanks for your story krista, always hoping to find an answer somewhere. would like to have my mom. she was really sick last year, septic 3 different times, and after weeks on iv antibiotics almost complete recovered, no symptoms for almost 30 days. this happened 2 different times so they are pressing for long term iv antibiotics. seeing doctors at john's hopkins!
i have got 10 left. taking good size breaks sure is better than just staring at the grid for ages. things are good, spritey. not looking forward to the fact that we must leave the hotel at 3:45 am, but looking forward to getting home to my cats.

I go there for everything, she is in good hands. Are you in Maryland?
I so enjoyed our lunch :) Never mind, the site is laggy.
my parents are in Delaware, I grew up there. My husband grew up in Dundalk, ever heard of it?
i enjoyed our lunch as well :) it's not the site, it's this internet on tv, this keyboard often thinks i hit enter twice when i only hit it once.
i know where dundalk is -- i live in MD myself. :)
Sure, I do.
Hi Krista - so good of you to share the info on Lyme disease - so sorry it has affected your family
ha! MD is a good place for good MD's! ha!
we live in TX now. had to rescue my husband from the dundalk area. Left to go to Seminary 14 years ago.
I see. Site is laggy here, though. Did you manage to refrain from hitting the student?
Eva, are you always up this early? I see you on later, usually!
LOL, Hurshy! Never made that connection. ;)
yes, sprite. luckily i've been able to spend most of the time in england away from the kids.
What seminary, Leighanne?
me? yeah, im at work now -- been here for an hour or so! dont always have time to babble in the mornings though, or if i do, im not always chatting...
Ty, Al. It's really prevalent here, as you may have guessed.
Place to learn to be a pastor/youth minister/music minister/missionary. What ever God calls you too :0)
Doesn't work interfere with Babbling?! I kept trying to sneak in a few words between meetings yesterday. Oh well...of to the pediatrician.
No, I am a pastor, what seminary attended?
hehe
Hurshy, heard you and Ata had fun too, great lunch too, nice pics :)
of course it does! especially since monday will be my first day at a new job on a new teal -- sure hope i have some babble-time over there!
have fun at the doctor krista. thanks for sharing
yes although she cheated, she was supposed to get pics of both of us and i think she only did me and didn't take any with herself in them.
BLG, Soutwester Theological, Southern Baptist
Sorry, spelled southwestern wrong, just woke up
Got it. I have many friends that attended Autstin Seminary... just wondering.
ok all, halfway done, so its time to get breakfast!!
Hehe, that was modesty, of course ;) Glad you had a good time. Being home with the cats will be pleasant too now, I think.
what's a teal?
That is a seal for a teabag, of course.
a new TEAM* (my bad!)
teal is a color, did i miss something?
heh, now im really getting breakfast! ;)
oh for heaven's sake, I should have realized that, Eva! **blushes**
oh i see, i did miss eva's post

That's to help you focus, rolin ;)
this whole global warming thing is quite problematic.
a focus room is where students who have behaved badly are sent to consider their actions....*self righteous look*
chiley = past tense it.
oh how dumb of me...thanks
LOL rolin - at least none of yr studnets online today chiley - believe it or not make it past tense!!

Hi, Aloy. yes, it's a tad warm down here. We're on the Gulf of Mexico, near New Orleans, southern Alabama, northern Florida. It'll be in the 90s today. It's *great* swimming weather!
it is cooler here too, will be the high 80's, not as steamy in ny
It's just shy of 30C in our building here, even with every window open and all the fans on (not sure what that is in F)
hmmm...first phantiom word for me...attends
90s can be comfortable, but the thick humidity makes clothes stick to you and makes breathing difficult. The poor dog has been shedding for weeks.
heat
ooops
ooops
and past tense of course :)
Rolin, is that a comment on the weather, or a babble word!
lol..yes thx sprite..
becca...*zipped mouth*
Just a comment on the weather, rolin would never post words ;)
*innocent eyes*...ty sprite...i certainly know who my friends are...

rolin -- i only just taught myself about 2 weeks ago how to flip a pancake...
green peppers ARE essential. pringle stuck in throat, ack.
green peppers ARE essential. pringle stuck in throat, ack.
You have to break the eggs. Quite an act of agression for some ;)
ei8, hurshy. Any clues on the in8?
ei8???..omg

*dialing insurance company to pay for sprite
Hi Becca :)
bugger...school pc wont let me have pop ups.
Hi Annie *waves*
hi faeriekae!
*has so many eddie izzard lines running through her mind now!*
Hi faerie :)
*waves back*
can someone tell me the meaning pls?
Hi Sprite :)
the ei8 could be a not very complimentary term for a smart person.
rolin: and if you click with control?
rolin -- just good ol albert!
i NEED coffee, how could i mix up sprite and hurshy....going to brew some
rolin: you asked. An ei8 = the radiant energy of a given frequency required to effect the complete photochemical transformation of one mole of a photosensitive substance being equal to about 0.004 erg second times the frequency in question
we think it's just "she's so smart. she's an ei8"...but it's cheap.
i NEED coffee, how could i mix up sprite and hurshy....going to brew some
ei 8 is also used as an adjective.
e=mc2
oooooohhh......of course...*slaps head*....silly me...lol
Perfect clue Charm
I can't believe you didn't know that, rolin :)
so, did we get a hint on the in8?
Hi, faeriekae.
hmm...you are an....ei8..yeah ok...
We did, evanadine.
i gave a hint at 7.56
Rlee said: in8 the stomach di.....s food but change beginning to in
ed it
OK, I have the 7s and 8s but I still have 76 words to go. I am braindead today!
ahh, i totally missed the clue -- thanks!
np

DO7 -- past-tense of to give to charity
do7 - gave to charity

Morning Nut :)

I'm only giving myself 1/2hr to play then back to painting the basement. I'm never going to finish that project unless I stay with it.
i HATE painting
evanadine: de7 past tense of he wouldn't de to open his own front door
Having Open House this Sunday from 1:00 - 3:00
If your basement is cool, I come over and help.
Come on Sprite it is nice and cool down there :)

*hurries to faerie*

I can't get it either, eva.
*runs to door to let Sprite in*
Hi farerie - cool is a word I respond to. Hows things going?

Got it, Une. Thanks.
yw!
Very good I signed with a Realtor yesterday. was going to try to sell the house myself but decided against it.
ahh, there we go! thanks une. :)
Any clues for the j's - i haven't got any yet
I am willing to paint the whole lot, as long as I can share that coolness....
Probably best faerie - you have enough to do anyway!
Roller and Brushes and paint is ready. Everything is tarped lets slap that stuff on the walls
je6/36 flew in a very fast plane
you have enough to do by yourself, faerie. getting a realtor was a good idea, less stress
je4/9 is a ballet move
ji5/24 -- holy war
*slap*
ji5 and je5 very topical re Middle East
Paint brush at the ready faerie - woohoo!!!!
I had a really wierd man come to my door to see my house and I told him he had to call for an appt to see it. The strangest part is that he came when the entire town was without electricity a couple nites ago
ji49 babblet: chinese money
anyone have the Ws yet? theyre kinda driving me bonkers...
I supose I could have shown him the house with a flash light LOL
faerie, that is weird...dont show the house w/o the realor
never let strange men in the house
Annie that is what made me decide to sign with a realtor
But I like strange men LOL just not that strange
Je 6/36 = to move really fast. "He je6 from one store to another."
wo4 = sounds like the electricity value (or kind of cockney for what) also past tense.
so the de7 has both d's in it?
Thanks, I all the j's except the chinese money
yes
Becca: think vowels
Thanks Sprite, got it!
evandine I have one of the w's think of 40 60 100 in a light bulb vowel is altered
I am totally blind to that door De7. Could someone please take me by the hand and point me to the obvious?
sprite, dont have it either
wo4 won't accept, but wo6 did.
Sprite: Take design, remove the s and rearrange the letters. Then you have de5, then plural and past tense
Euterpe: for the W4 try plural.
Got it.
Thanks. :)
thanks, becca
Thanks Becca, that helped :) I don't believe I have ever seen that word before. All at once I feel a real foreigner again, lol.
seeing
It's not in common use Sprite
thanks becca i finally got it also
blast first one today
Right, must do some real work. BBL
heh, i was windering if the -ing ending was gonna get used at all today!
What a beautiful word, windering!
They do a few times evan
yeah, it means something kinda like "wondering" but you have to be giving sprite an dirty glare while youre doing it.... ;)
Twice I think evan
ok let's see if i can find a few more now
It has a ring of coolness about it, evanadine :)
most things i say do, sprite. :D
LOL! And there I was, thinking what a warm and caring person you are!
I sat in the shade while the golfers were ****** off
no way man, im the next james dean!
Great Alo, good for you

Sudokuaddict: Okay, the thing you carry that deceased brain around in. Lose last letter. Invert vowels. Use the ending.
said the tea to the tie "of the two, you like that one too?" said the tie to the tea, "if they tie off the tee, then i truly agree, for the T can putt better than U"
LOL!
Good morning all, and having just signed on, updated icon and read the last few chat entries, what the HECK is this about carrying a deceased brain? LOL!

hrmmm...the only HA 6/27 i have is about your not-your-feet-but-your...
hi all ! : ) hi ch1212 - I need to apologise - I had no idea if I closed the tab in firefox, I didn't show as online in babble! Just call me an airhead. : / So, you were right! lol
17 is a prime number so obviously there can only be 4/17 or 17/255, both highly unlikely
about me not being online I mean.... not me being an airhead - that's my contribution!
are you feeling better babs?
hursh are you still travelling or back home now? I'm so sad I missed you.
I'm perking up, but not really, it's stil mega hot here and I'm not sleeping. : /
but my hip's getting better! bit by bit. : )
i'm still here babs, leaving at 3:45 AM...what is that, 13 hours from now...
yeah i haven't ventured out today cause of the record heat and being sore from yesterday's castle explorations.
back I am -- no worries babbler (I say, not being sure what we were talking about). I just had to reload my updated icon for today - bug in the system.
Hurshy where are you today? Castle?
dang it's off. i needed another bit.
hurshy used a word! *neener, neener*
what castle, hursh?
Hello, Babblers!
yesterday we went to dover castle and leeds castle. leeds castle is just the dandiest place i've ever been. today, i'm relaxing in my air conditioned hotel room and pllllt evanading
teehee ;)
stupid small keyboard
ch1212 - you were pleased to be able to add me as a friend the other day, and I was like, 'but I'm always online, I never log out', little realising, by closing the tab, I AM logged out. doh!
silly babs, tricks are for squids
I've never been to Leeds Castle! (not in Leeds, that's so funny!) I envy your air conditioning.
you have GOT to go to leeds castle. if i lived around here i'd go every weekend.
oh, I wondered why I couldn't access to see today's theme. :) I figured it out by looking at what others were using today. I hope my new icon is showing at this point ...
hi, lizbeth
My fan broke in the 2003 heatwave and I never got another one. Still, there's a through-breeze in here, and it's a temperate 82/84F, so that's not too bad. Feels like a furnace outside. : /
ah, there it is.
hi Aloyisius
ad6 please?
anyone have a clue for the te6/24 plaese?
and on weekdays i'd go to parliament and the old bailey. sat in on a murder trial the other day. well TECHNICALLY they already got acquitted of murder and are now being re-tried on manslaughter, bc the first jury couldn't reach a verdict on that charge. anyway it was cool.
ooh there's an ad6!
te6/24 = how you start playing golf, by te**** off.
clued it a bit earlier, philod... think golf, what you do when you start the game..
what golfers do te**** off, philod
you ad a boy's name
thanks..
woohoo only 4's and 5's left
can you just walk in on the old bailey, hursh?
good happy Wednesday all! Babbler, heard you were on yesterday and hi Sprite! Isn't it a bit late for you? (grin) don't tell me the grid is THAT hard today!
yes but they don't want you bringing in cameras or bags or whatnot and you have to go through a metal detector and get patted down.
go hurshy go!
I just put the thermometer in the sun at the open window, to get a reading.....
Does anyone remember an old Twilight Zone episode where a woman was quite ill, and the Earth had changed orbit and was moving closer to the sun, and it was getting hotter and hotter. At the end of the episode the surprise was the earth was in fact moving AWAY from the sun and people were freezing. The woman's fever had affected her. Either way ... makes you wonder !! :)
*still lost on the AD6*
wow, I didn't know that, hursh. And parliament too? I've never tried. : /
Is anyone having trouble with licketySplit? I keep refreshing but still have a different puzzle.
parliament you can bring stuff but you put bags on an xray like at the airport and same metal detector patting down routine.
SeaDove you will have to use Brandyjacks list under Babblers Anon as Lickety is not posting todya.
golly i wish i were an MP
Thank you FMitch. :)
well, still here in Victoria, had a lovely time with Hetty and Jillibus yesterday. Time is limited on this hotel computer (and I am about at my limit) - but wanted to let everyone know that our first North American Babbling Reunion went very well. Will write about it and post pictures when I get home tomorrow.
ae5 please??
Lickety announced yesterday that he wouldn't be on today, he is out all day
yw
i love you charm
why do you wish you were an MP, hursh? to hang out in parliament? lol ; )

let's see...i do believe parliament was air conditioned.
stid, did you say you heard I was on yesterday? does that mean people were talking about me?? what did they say?? nice things? :D
40 left to go...gonna go do some work...heh
wow, I'm surprised parliament has air-con. It's such an old building, it must have cost a fortune to update.
see you later evanadine : ) don't work too hard

bye all. have fun babbling.
Hullo and help! No lickety. What is everyone doing about a lsit this a.m.?

Bye Charm
right, I've just re-jigged that disguised email address, does it make more sense now?
thanks Tiny
yes Babbler I understand it now
Hetty did you see my message at 9:32 List explained
Ok all I am off for an early night for a change it is 12:35 am Wednesday morning here
Good Night All
well, I'd best start tidying before my friends arrive. (don't want to move much in this heat though!). Hursh, if I don't speak to you again, have a safe journey home!
goodnight, Tiny : )
Who wants to celebrate with me?
Woohoo sprite - what are we celebrating by the way?
what are we celebrating?
Car is fixed. Washing machine is fixed. :D Drinks are on me...
Sounds like it's worth celebreating to me!!! WTG
good cause for a celebration (lifts glass in a toast to techno repairs)
Imagine not having a washing machine with this weather. I want to change clothes twice a day atm.
hey all..im back...slightly less dressed and sitting at home in front of a fan...
can you give me a clue for the other w... i have wo6/30
Lol, our car went all spooky. Light turned on all by themselves, at night even.
rolin: 3rd person of the same verb.
*3rd person singular I mean
cheers sprite
Been sitting with feet in bowl of water - wonderful whilst it lasted. Hate this heat, not a happy bunny.
Just thought I would load my new icon for tomorrow
I feel for you. So much that I won't taunt you with posting a word ;)
2 words
Bye now have a good day to you all I am going to bed
Two words, in6/24
d'you suppose i'm missing a d5 or an s5?
Oh dang - sorry!!!!!!
hihihihi
FMitch! 2 booboos in one post! (-:
Hi all, I have the je 5/24, je 6/36, ji 4/9, and the
I don't think you miss much, hursh :)
hello all, couldn't log on this am so i've a lot to catch up with
well i'm missing 2 words. is there a dh (i hope not)?
Oh well Aloy - if you are going to do it - do it with style (boo hoo)
I need one more D and I don't have any Dh-words. Guess not, then.
don't cry, FMitch... it's ok.. put some ice in that water for your tootsies..
Hi all, I have 4 of the 5 j's. I have the je 5/24, je 6/36, ji 4/9, and the ji 5/24....what am I missing?
but sprite, what if we are missing the same d and it's a dh?
unless yours is from the right
That would be a real coincidence... but not unthinkable.
There are no dh words
Mine is from the right.
no dh today
okey dokey then
uhoh, tummy not happy about something
je 4/9, Buttonman.
Got it. Do you know the length of the missing one, hursh?
Awww, that's nasty, especially just before a flight. Hope it settles fast, hurshy.
thanks parsec! Can you give me a clue for the
ahead
well i need a 4 and a 5, an S and a D, but don't know which is which.
...shoot.
... shoot.
That's more than a clue. :)
more than a clue, less than pollution that's what we call a babble solution
LOL!
lol hurshy. Clue for de 7/44. I'm sure it's staring me in the face....
Thanks!
de7 is a past tense. you have to go a diff way than for the present
No, it isn't, pdb. It is not a commonly used word, I was told. Took me some time to find it. I'll look up the clue that helped me, moment.
*blushes* Button, the je4 is a ballet term.
Thanks, Hurshy!
pdb: Becca Lorum said: Sprite: Take design, remove the s and rearrange the letters. Then you have de5, then plural and past tense.
ho6?
nice explanation, sprite.
chiley: made sweet with what the bees make.
the lovely sprite, with ho6 lips did wake the fair prince with a kiss and when that luscious dew he sips his heart forever knows its bliss
hey that's not half bad
gotta work on the tenses somehow, though, they're not consistent.
just change did to doth and we're golden.
Waxing poetic today, hurshy ..
what else is new tor, you know how i love to rhyme :)
I have been eternalised in a poem! :)
well sprite is a more poetic name than, say, hurshy
it's probably been posted, but I just came on. Is Lickety's list missing words?
Hurshy, hurshy, shows no mercy dumps Gilbert and kisses Percy
"I wrote my true love's name upon the sand/But came the rain and washed the name away"
Sorry, I am not good at ballet so I still do not get je4!
ji5/24 anyone?
maybe golden dew would be better than luscious...luscious might be overly sensual really
Buttonman: grand j4, big jump.
Buttonman, add a second vowel to the kind of airplane we all use today
aw sprite, you know how to move a girl
helllllooooooooooooooooooo
KMS: use BJ's list under BabAnon in the list below
bexie! heidy ho
Hi bex!
KMS - Lickety is not doing a list today; you'll have to use BJ's.
Hiiiiiiiiiii Bex!
good golly this shouldn't be so hard, there's only so much you can do with the s
ji5....a holy war
You found the D already, hurshy?
ji and je - the holy war
Hey everyone! Bex - I had a dream about Kermit last night >.>
no i didn't sprite, but i though if i found the s then i'd at least know how long the d was
hi, bex
The once was a poet named hurshy Who loved to pen verses all murshy I hate to be purshy Cause one could do worshy Than reading her eloquent vershy
Thanks, Jac. I'm using bj's for the first time, successfully so far.
thx anniebrook!
Do you have the anagrams Se5/14?
LOL Torgone! Nice one!
torgone, I love your limerick--every line rhyming yet already even!
tor...very nice!
hi hetty!
look what i've started
look what i've started
*There*
Thanks for the info on BJ's list
well with some poetic licence for semantics--
Isn't it great?
anagrams! that will help
woohoo now to monkey some d4
Again, Sprite wins the price for knowing which one hurshy is missing :)
Hi annie. I' happy to report feeling much stronger today. Stid's visit yesterday did me a power of good
any finishers here? how many points today?
yes, 1000 points to sprite
18 to go here and still stubbornly not using a list.
hetty, having stid around is better than antibiotics, i should think...glad you are getting stronger
Down to 7 and no list, but it gets tougher now.
you can do it jac
1583 Hrushy
oh oh someone tell me the point total before sprite sprites me
ty fmitch
Now, would I do that to you, hurshy? Never!
sprite..how many anagrams of the se5/14 are there...and is there only one se5/14?
ahem
i win i win i win cash and prizes!
Yup. The ab's were making me throw up . Doctor told me to stoptaking them last night and for the first time in eight days I actually slept. Stid and sleep, the great healers
Yeah hurshy!
rolin: there are 2x se5/14, anagrams of eachother.
rolin it's an anagram pair both se's.
congrats hurshy!!!
sprite usually means exactly what she says.
congrats, hurshy!
yes taking sudoku breaks is highly advantageous.
refreshes the old noodle, if you will
Oh dear... I have been told I can be too literal...
stupid words..loll..but ty
hetty - if you feel better that is great!!
no sprite i meant that while your original anagram statement, if made by someone else, could imply an anagram beginning, say, with sn, it was not likely that that would be the case when you said it. if that makes any sense.
Thanks, Fmitch
Morning, all. I object to the ei8. Proper name!
It does, and it is true, lol. In that case I would have said S5/14.
Judi, it isn't only a proper name. You sure you want to know?
enable judge says...objection overruled, on the grounds that the lawyer is a badger, and we don't like her suspenders.
LOL!
Judi: it can mean a very smart person, or.... the radiant energy of a given frequency required to effect the complete photochemical transformation of one mole of a photosensitive substance being equal to about 0.004 erg second times the frequency in question
i don't suppose anyone caught the obscure mathnet reference in there... no? oh well.
sprite, literal and concrete describe you perfectly LOL
I wouldn't know a mathnet reference if it bit me in the nose, so I guess not, hurshy :) And thanks, hetty... I think ;)
i've just met sprite and she is def organic, not concrete
Organic, yes, lots of that stuff on me :)
we're all carbon based! hmm, i should write a song about that
carbon based we are, the lot, but carbon copies we are not
carbon, carbon, the building blocks of life it's why your favorite car is not as cuddly as your wife...
carbon, carbon, the building blocks of life it's why your favorite car is not as cuddly as your wife...
Ow sorry, did I sprite you?
LOL, Hursh.
oh, sprite's is much less goofy than mine
oh, sprite's is much less goofy than mine
hursy, you are cracking me up
no, with poetry, the more the merrier
I love yours
Oh, pooh, Sprite. Just go ahead and rain on my righteous indignation.
if sprite rained on your indignation, did i blizzard on it?
You should have stopped me in time, Judi ;) I didn't hear you say you didn't want to know...
i like blizzards.
have been searching fruitlessly for ad6/21.. any clues for the clueless one?
That's okay. At least I got one of the eight letter words!
And Judi posted a wo-ord, Judi posted a wo-ord ;)
golly gee this hotel room is a mess. add a fellow's name aloyisius...short for that dude who told king david the little sheep story
Aloy: ad + consonate + past tense of consume
Fireworks here as well.
DOH! I was going down when I should have been going up... thanks to hurshy and sprite.... its FIREWORKS..
*consonant
I posted a word? Yoiks! I don't even know what it is. Sorry.
Yeah Aloyisius!
what is the word count today? Lickety is still showing yesterday on my comp
121
yay back to you. sprite!
Judi, I was just teasing you. A5/14. A perfectly normal word to use.
yeah aloyisius
thanks
Aloy, I just found ad6/21--add the latin for born (christmas is christ's na*** day, chage adj ending and use second vowel) And sprite just pipped me with a better clue!
lol... thanks anyway, hetty..
Oh! I see now, Sprite. Well, pooh again then.
Glad you got your fireworks, al
Congrats youse guys ..
Having been accused of spriting, pipping and being concrete, I better leave ;) Have a great day/night/whatever your like and happy hunting all!
bye, sprite
bye sprite
me too... work to do.. stay cool all, and go for the fireworks..
Hursh, have a fast and safe flight home :) See you on the other side.
Bye, Sprite.
Keep your carbon dry, sprite ..
Bye Aloy and Bye sprite!!
down to 3. Need a ha 6/27, I think. I am surprised how slowly the end is going for me. Bye to Sprite and Aloy.
bye, aloy
bye aloy
sprite and hursh, you make a great babbling couple
You have 2 of them on the end of yr arms , just make one of them past tense
and we're not bad with lunching either :)
Ok, I have that one FMitch, so maybe I am wrong about what I'm missing....
that's the funniest 'chat' i've seen in a time sprite and hursh
Ah I think I know which one it is - doe you have the 2nd ha4/6?
My shoe just stuck to the road when I crossed it to lock my neighbour's gate for her!
I do.
The babblers hurshy and sprite/Turn babbling into a fight/ Each one takes no time / To discover a rhyme/ And fashion it for our delight
Very nice, Hetty!
Temperature readings here are garden 109 def F, greenhouse 114 deg F, rabbit shed 98 deg F.
Take the 1st 3 letters and add one of the endings not used so much today
I think I'll put that in the babanon log. Then you'll both be immortalized till the sand washes it way
Thank you FMitch -- I would not have gotten that on my own.
Oh brill - glad you found it pdh!!!
Good morning again -- back for Round II.
hmm..I'm not as good as pdp....any other clue?
Sounds like the act of bringing in straw
Hey ch1212
ah...thanks
Hi ch. I keep coming and going. 12 to go now.
I have 58 so I suspect I'll be here a bit longer :)
i'm back from the vet - my lil boy has lyme disease
Hi Evan - is that from ticks?
Hi evan - well that is something then!!!
evanonut, I'm so sorry to hear that! Like your icon, btw. Now, can they treat him?
Oh, I'm sorry evanonut. My son had it a couple of years ago. Antibiotics?
yes, only i don't remember him ever having any
yes, he takes antibiotics for 28 days now.
Am I being dumb but could you kindly tell me what lyme disease is please
evan - I dad never heard of Lymes unil last week and they did a feature on day time TV - it is much more comment that realised and also can be quite serious if left un diangnosed esp for humans.
it a disease transmitted by ticks, nasty and sometimes missed in diagnosis.
The CDC website has a lot of info about it. Most common in the northeastern U.S.
*Could I have typed that with more errors - apologies.
well I hope he gets better soon
two of my neighbors have it, and i've had to be tested before.
fireworks!
yeah pdb!
*applaus* for pdb
hmm, still no tsetse
you keep trying uncagain :)
one of these days....
:D
Good afternoon/morning all.
Hello Haz
I'm so glad to get here finally!
where have you been this morning?
This is the first time that I've managed to get onto the site. I don't know what the problem was.
I'm sorry :( I was assuming you had a vet related related and perhaps another story. But glad you're on board now.
Anyone need a clue? Otherwise I'm off to be productive in a non-babble way.
At least there aren't too many words to find.
hi againall!
Hi TO!
hi owl!
phantom should-be-a-word: hindend
Oh the things you can think!
hey owl - you missed my announcement, the dog has lyme disease.
That song just flitted into my mind as I read your comment, TO -- we went to see "Seussical the Musical" the other night. Delightful
cuahgt early, i hope?
i mean caught
it was a strong positive, but he'll be good.
good news!
owted
yep, in the mean time, i'm gonna hop him up on pain pills
I have fireworks!:-)
bravo jac
Hurrah jacula! I told you I'd be here longer :D
jacs! when did you get home?
Hi T/O. Got home about 10am Saturday.
welcome back! hope it was a great trip!
Good morning, babbleland!
hi smith! : )
hi smithchcik
Good morning, Haz--good to have you with us after all your frustration
Hi TO, smithchick, ch1212 and all-
hi hetty!
Where are we finding the icon theme these days?
Babbler has it -- add her to your My Friends and you can always click on it
Today's theme is "Earth" by the way
hi Smithchick!
Hey, Lupe!!
hi lupe!
hello babblers! just breezing through at the moment, but i thought most of you would fine this article interesting. :) http://www.rinkworks. com/words/oddities.shtml
Hey TO!!
speaking of the theme, i'm testing out my icon
Hi Eva!!!
hi evaN!
ah, that's so pretty featherbee! Mine is Middle Earth :) evanadine, I'll check out the site
thanks eva!
Well, I guess I better go get dressed properly...be right back!
thanks ch! yeah, i actually saw yours while i was searching for mine! thought "so that's where she found that"
Okay, I'm back. Ice on planet earth... I like it. Especially since we've routinely been over 100 degrees for weeks.
oh that looks so cool and refreshing!
Hi KKILN - I see you
I've been trying to avoid the great outdoors as much as possible...
I'm definitely a cool weather girl.
good choice smith!
Me too == turtlenecks, jeans, overcoat
long black boots, mid-calf skirts, sweaters
I don't even own a swimsuit or shorts. Of course, that's in deference to my neighbors! :D
can anyone give me a clue on the in 8/55 thank you
Yvo I would if I could but I cannot I know
make my weather HOT!
Evanadine - Just checked out that article - Honorificabilitudinitatibus. What a Babble score THAT would be!
thanks anyway was a good rhyme
Yvo in8/55 = ate
It's from an old Peter Paul and Mary song that just popped into my head :)
I must go - got laundry to sort. Happy Babbling!
see you jacs! HAPPY SORINT? : /
bye jacs - I'm about due for another break too
I've managed to avoid a swimsuit all summer. I'm quite proud of that! After I lose about 40 more pounds, maybe I'll wear one.
Bye, Jacula!
i meant sorting... : /
cehess thanks, but still working on it
How about those j's. Yuck. I've got one.
Smithchick even when I was young and slim I disliked myself in a swimsuit --very self conscious. Even though now I recognize I had issues about things back then... still, some women (I'm convinced) are not designed for swimsuits :D
the ballet move? the holy war?
flew on a plane without a propellor?
bless you to!
that's it - going to get some lunch - BBL!
Me too... We used to live less than half a mile from a waterpark and I had to take my kids there all the time so I had to wear a swimsuit all the time. Not fond memories.
Bye, TO!!
Thanks, I just figured out you were giving j clues, TO!
When I lived in Hawaii I went swiming in my mumuu - not a pretty sight! :D
I'm missing some se's......how about se6/24...after the believing one?
go to a resort where there are eurpoean women...for the most part you will not see that kind of self consciousness
or maybe before...not sure
Nope, because their boobies will be hanging out around their tummies. =)
but the won't care!
I saw that in Italy, TO -- and I see it here in the U.S., like in Hawaii. I know my 'stuff' as a kid was not healthy. I really admire women and men who just let it all hang out!
lickety is a day behind. does anyone know how many words there are today?
121
My sister just got back from Cancun and there were women going topless all over the beach. My bro-in-law pointed out that several of them had no business being topless and could have slung their breasts over their shoulders. LOL
Oh no.....has Lickety finally seen the end? =(
BJ's list is up at Babbler's Anonymous
*waves to all* bye now!
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWW. Not a sight I want to see. Bye TO
LOL Smithchick! Bye TempleOwl!
Se 6/24 - the ones that I have are both past tenses of se4/5's. One is to have planted things and one is to have mailed things. Those are the only two that I have.
I need that other one too
I need a drink.
LOL leigh!
=) I'm thinking Midori Sour a little later.....so good.....

Silly chat. *pets it*
Oh good, now I have two o's. Thanks leigh!
lol leigh

Sorry for the server probs this morning. The server is acting up again. Not sure why yet...
I'm currently thinking of getting a new car. Don't get me wrong, I love my baby Jetta, but..... *shrug* Sometimes I wish I had something newer.
oh oh, can't enter any words, what's going on
hey hey dr. g!
Dr God, is that a new look...?
thanks for keeping us posted dr. god
It's okay, Mr. God, man, sir, Doctor... =P
seems as though i just heard a voice from above!!
No prob, Dr._G...
hi miya!
Aknit- That's the voice of the revered one.... *giggles away*
hee, leigh's feeling frisky today
hey Eva!
shhh i am still bowing low, is it safe to get up?
LeighPrefect, you're profile just made me laugh too hard xD
I'm in a horrible mood, feather...the spending mood!!!
Yes, knit, but you can't look him in the eye!
Spending is never, ever horrible... NEVER!!
te 5/12 help, please?
lmao leigh, now why haven't i read your profile before this?
retail therapy!
*does a little bow for Miyavi* Thank you. Just be glad I live in the states... =)
spending = peace
couldn't even if i wanted too (dark glasses) i love retail therapy, I'm in
te + not the beginning
I'm going to write a book one day called "Retail Therapy"
ohhh, don't worry...I have my own mad teacher to contend with on babble. Her *babble* name's Rolin xD
not the beginning spelled wrong (sorry)
i'll buy it at one of my sessions leigh
miyavi, is rolin your teacher?
Somehow I've gotten very popular all of the sudden. This is fun.
retail therapy brings us all together
we are family...
Hooray for evil Rolin, then! I must get lessons from her.
lol nut
te+not the beginning spelled wrong?
is it an anagram?
ah, no it isn't :)
it uses the third letter
third vowel, sorry
ha, yesterday when one of rolin's students was on here being stupid, i decided to compliment the students that i knew were here but were behaving. the annoying one picked up on it, asks if i'm a teacher. i held my tongue!
te + 3rd vowel + nd
thanks Jaime. I was lost as heck
I can't wait to be a teacher....but I'm still not quite sure what I want to teach...
i want to teach sarcasm
leigh, what you should want to teach is students
have a general age group in mind? like i knew i'd never want to teach middle school. i hated it when i was in there, didn't want to relive it teaching them
Evano- I would be the first person signed up for your class
Hetty- Great point. =)
I would excel at teaching sarcasm.
Leigh, a tip: DON'T go for P.E. They'll hate you O.O
so many need to learn the fine art of sarcasm...some simply go overboard
Uhg! I am being vexxed by the j's. Anyone have a clue for je5/24 and ji5/24??
I'm leaning towards elementary, possibly 3rd/4th grade...definitely not middle school, no, they're just evil. But I was also thinking high school.
sarcasm is rhe lowest form of wit Pope says so, and he should know
the last te 4/4 should be staring me in the face...
No P.E... I hated it myself.
je5 sounds like the holy war being waged right now in the middle east
middle school, too many raging hormones
pope hasn't seen quality sarcasm, what i possess is quality sarcasm with a hint of wit.
Thanks, gramma.
ji also sounds the same
oh, gramma, and there's a ji5 that goes with that!
high school?! if I didn't need to go there, I wouldn't >.>
Got them, thanks.
Hear, hear, evano...
I want to teach French if I do high school.... I don't want to forget it.
he he
have: je5/24, 4/9, 6/36, ji5/24...missing?
I"m missing 1 word.....se5/14, after the vision word. Any help?
Same one I'm missing, TO.
if I was ever a teacher, I'd have to teach year five... since I couldn't handle teenagers, but small children would drive me absolutely mental >.<
TO, your missing ji4. It's a bunch of vowels
ty gramma...sounds like a mess! : )
Alexander Ppe ws a master of satire, which is a literary extension of sarcasm. His point was that saying twisted things in order to wound people was the lowest form of wit

wow, there is a lot of lag
hetty: put down humor is all the new rage
sorry about that
I think there may be some lag, lady...
anyone have a clue about the je 6?
There's a lot of lag today. Dr-God has apologized for it
indeed, Temple. put-downs are the new black.
past tense of je4
i believe when i say sarcasm is good, i'm actually referring to the misuse of the word, not the words true definition.
je 6 --- flew on a propellor-less plane
je 6: if you took a really fast plane you could say you Je**** out of there
Okay, ladies....I'm going to be cleaning my room. If you need me/want me/want to kill me, be patient. I will respond to your messages as soon as possible, because my computer will be sitting on my bed, taunting me to return to babble.
bye bye, leigh! jesey girls rock!
se5/14...se + two consonants + third vowel
If I could curse right now, TO, I'd say f-yeah! But instead, er....heck yeah!
Never mind, I found it. Done!
lol, have fun leigh
Congrats, gramma! *goes to tackle mound of laundry )quite literally)*

nope, lickety's not updated right now
SEE! SEE!
lol, you called it nut!
bummer
My laundry smells FANTASTIC. Oh, so good....I'll sell my laundry skills to you people... I'm sure I could get someone to buy....
stats on Babs anon is working
i'll buy!
me me Leigh
But the point is, my room is, like, 10x11, and I share it with my sister, and so there really isn't too much space to have to move around in, so it's really easy to check in on who is bad mouthing me.
Last chance....going ........going.........go**
thanks anyway gramma! i'm still plugging away
50 dollars a load. You'll want to sleep with your laundry when I'm done with it. Bye Gramma!!
Bye all who are leaving... I had a pesky phone call.
bad mouthing, now that was uncalled for.
oooooh, so we'd better not say anything nasty while she's gone!
I already sleep with my laundry.
Oh, I know you weren't really bad mouthing me.
hmm, leigh, stidmama is still on vacation....while mom's away the kids can play!
I have in8...What's the other 8?
I miss stid! And even the baby stids!
Where did Lupe go?
Is there another word list like Lickety
Good afternoon, all. I try "tada" every time, even though I know it won't be accepted. Isn't that the definition of insanity, doing the same thing and expecting different results?!
go to babblers anonymous, there's BJs list there
in the links below ladynoire
Hey, Krista!
heh, yup krista
afternoon babblers!!
smithchick - ei/8
Thought so! :)~ :)~(crazy face)
Hello Krista and Evana
Thanks, mari!
Hello, evana!
anyone check out that article i posted earlier? seemed rather appropriate for babble! hehe
funky iceberg picture, smithchick!
i've got it saved on another tab, to read in a bit
Thanks, I figure the earth needed some cooling off.
another phantom word: denies
Snap, why didn't anyone tell me I was missing All My Children?
And just as I was about to put on Anchorman....
I don't think ei8 should really be a word.
We could use it here, smith, for sure. Geesh, even the Evil Empire was hot today (Wal-Mart).
So how many words today?
But since it let me finish my e's, I guess I'll accept it.
121 total lady
say what leigh?
smithchick - I agree!!
not bad, I've got 51 so far
LOL, Krista... Never heard it called that before. Which is rather shocking really.
anything weird?
what's anchorman?
Oh yes, I see you are in AR! Ha ha! No offense intended.
of course -- arent there always?? hehe
Silly me, what was I thinking
This lady just said her kids' bathroom smells like a urinal. *snicker* Feather- The funniest movie I've ever seen. Or, one of the funniest I've ever seen. The best to quote, definitely.
oh! ok, i've heard of it...was thinking tv show
any hints for the top O or the side-O that doesnt sound like a thought?
that's will Will Farrel, right (spelling?)?
I just read your bio and we actually have a lot in common. Moody hubbies, similar educations, etc. Except that I would never be able to homeschool my three kids. Someone would be hurt.
No, but I'd watch it if there was one. And yes, Will Ferrel. Hehe. "I love scotch. Scotchy, scotch, scotch. Here it goes down. Down into my belly. Mmm! Mmm! Mmm!"
Anywhere else I can get a clue list besides Lickeyt?
ei 8?
He's a brainy scientist, Jaime.
lady -- there is BrandyJacks list on BabblersAnonymous
how is that ei acceptable?
jaime It's a mans name!
ei is also what you call someone...usually sarcastically
definitions: "the radiant energy of a given frequency required to effect the complete photochemical transformation of one mole of a photosensitive substance being equal to about 0.004 erg second times the frequency in question "
The moody one is me, Leigh, though that fits hubby, too. :) Yes, I hear you on the home schooling. There are days like that here, trust me. We're not sure about #2 yet, and we only have a few weeks to decide. :(
wow, thanks evanadine!
Thanks!
And ralph means to throw up...Does it count as a word?
LOL!
krista, i've been going through that same debate, about #2
LOL, Krista... I thought your sweet hubby was moody... My sweet hubby and I are both moody. Makes for a very volatile living situation!
Really, Feather? Would you be teaching yours if he/she went to school (I see you are a K teacher)?
35 left and slow-going!!
Ok, I'm stumped already - any clues for the ad6?
nope, i live in a different district from where i teach...thankfully!
Did anyone ever clue that o on th bottom that doesn't sound like an original thought?
ad + mans name
wait, did you mean #2 about having a second child? i think i'm confused!
nope! my request for clues went unanswered! *puts back of hand to frehead* luckily, i found the top one...still looking for the other bottom one...
Good clue, evana! TY!
Thanks
Ambiguous writing on my part, smith (the moody thing)...Oh, I meant on the fence about home schooling #2 (I do know some teachers who home school).
I'm obviously not a botanist
That's the only one I'm missing too. And an a. Then my vowels will be complete!
I confuse everyone. I am very, very good at that.
ahh, gotcha! i've been thinking about trying for #2, so just assumed that's what you meant! and no, i don't think i could home school...i don't have enough discipline at home! meaning we'd end up just playing all day instead of doing the creative learning things i make up for my kindergarteners at school
oh4/6 - made an exclamation of surprise or understanding (a common Babblet)
Evana...the other o is oh4/6.
DUH! found it! first, i OH4 and then i yeahed
what's the word count for today, and is anyone else having problems getting to lickety?
121 words today.
and lickety is unable to update today -- youll hafta use babblers anon
That's how I would be too, feather...or I'd be playing babble all day while they entertained themselves!
121 words total, and apparently you have to use BJ's list today. Go by way of Babblers Anonymous
awesome, thanks
When do you go back to school this year, Feather? It seems to get earlier and earlier here every year.
I need one more a to have my vowels done.
which a, top or bottom?
Did anyone get the ah5?
usually it's the wednesday after labor day, whenever that is. i don't want to know yet!
lady -- whoever arrives first gets there ah5 of the other one
Full Speed ah5!
Wow, our county hasn't waiting until after Labor Day since i was in high school (many moons ago). That's great!
waited
thanks!!!
Bottom a... not the ah
from the bottom, theres AH5, AD6, and Ai4
Oops. I mean top a not the an
you can help me with my missing A -- mines from the top...i have AE5
ae5 is what I don't have. The other is an5. A positively charged electrode
AE + where bears live (also a room in a house), minus a letter
Got it! Thanks, evana... There are my vowels!
care to help me with my last i? from the top i -- i have in6/24
Eve, I didnt get the bear clue - I tried all the letter combos and just didnt get it
Subaru, or a newer Volkswagen, girls? I think I have an idea of where the majority will lie, but I figured I'd ask.
honda
in + plural of where bears live (take out a consonant)
Just a tiny smidgen...io4
DOH! thats one of my favorite babble words too! *scolds self for not se6 it!*
I didn't get for a long time.
Honda? Really? *ponder*
I have a de7 and an in7. What 7's am I missing?
they last sooo long, are very reliable
We have the ubiquitous Subaru outback and are very happy with it -- but if somebody would make a hybrid of that size, we'd choose that in a flash.
My dream car is a BMW Z4. Well it is actually a Porsche but that is so far outside the realm of possibility.
heh, i've read somewhere that honda civics are one of the most commonly stolen cars too...that could be a plus or a minus, depending on how you look at it
do7 (gave to charity -- related 6) st7 (end of your in7, made past-tense)
a honda is the noose part of the lariat
Nissans are good. My sister has an Altima and loves it.
Anyone got a clue for the na4/5? I've tried every combination.
i have a honda accord + i love it
omg! it's a friggin word in the grid! i had no idea!
TY, evana!
My mom got the Subaru Impreza wagon a few years ago. I really enjoyed it. Cute, and wonderful to drive. I want the Impreza sedan. So cute.
Feather- Oh, yeah. I got that a while ago and I was very surprised, myself!
na + two pointa + frist vowel
na = none
Can someone help me wit the a's? I have ad6 and ah5, and thats it
can someone help me with my other W -- i have the one that sounds like light-bulb-energy-measurement
ae5 - what a cockney greek might call hell
Oh! The Spanish word. I thought that wouldn't be allowed. Thanks.
eva - they're related...try a past tense
eva - they're related...try a past tense
ai4/4... nuff said
Ha, good clue, hurshy! :)
*grrr* i SWEAR i tried that!
cool, great clue
ae5/12- makes me think of the underworld ai4/4-a+ opp. of outs an5/12- positively charged electrode
an5...something to do with batteries and electricity and whatnot
Hey hursh...How are ya?
ha, i like the cockney greek one! got it right off!
great clues, guys, thanks
the cockney greek was a hoot
Make your w past tense with a double consonant, evana
i'm good chickadee...just been troll baiting over at sudoku...a whacking great read if you pop over there
heh, brb then
...I'm still not seeing the ae 5/12, though. go me!
Troll baiting's okay, but can you make them dance?
troll baiting at sudoku is like shooting fish in a barrel, though. ;)
ae + 4th letter + 2nd vowel + plralize it
ah well, we must get our fun in however we can, mustn't we
ah well, we must get our fun in however we can, mustn't we
I need some oreo cheesecake
qed
thanks
Hiya, Hurshy!
Shade, I thought trolls were on the endagered species list LOL
Are trolls in a barrell anything like a barrel of monkeys?
mmm, cheesecake
*darn you leigh!*
We're getting a Cheesecake Factory factory here
hello judi
how many trolls can you fit in a barrel, trolls are prtty big
lol, you were having a good time, weren't you hurshy! hee
Not around here, ladyn! They're an invasive species.
1st se5/14 anyone?
Ahh smithchick - thanks- the underworld clue got me to the ae 5/12
Cheesecake Factory is the bestest place on earth. Second only to the Crayola Factory.
Start with a big barrell, and stomp them down well...
*sigh* I'm going blind... last de 6/21?
hey, barrels can be big, too
Kc - plural of de5/16
Eww, squishy trolls LOL
if you have illegal things in your bags at the airport, security will DE6 you
to keep sopmeone for questioning; to hold back
Do you have spray for trolls over there?
duh. ok NOW I see it!
That depends. Does DEET work?
dang phone...stop calling me...I'm trying to babble!
vicuna used a babble word! *neener, neener!!*
Crayola - I went to High School with a guy who's grandfather was Edwin Binney - of Binney & Smith - originators of Crayola
Don't answer, smith
wow, hursh, it *was* a slow day, wasn't it?
Cad- I would die to have grandparents like that. Not only that, but they must be super rich.
Interesting icon Leigh, is that a teapot?
well krista, i've got scathing remarks and british slang, which i feel is better than spray. the keyboard is mightier than the chemicals and all that.
Awww, MAN! Now I've got to check and see if it's something I even have!
It is, lady. I don't change my icon often enough.
Its very pretty Leigh, I collect teapots
(Hmm, I couldn't have possibly been more obvious about it, could I? Sorry, and thanks!)
It's my sister calling. If I don't answer, she'll come hurt me. She's mean and bossy.
Clue for first se5/14, please?
lol smith
oh yea - very very ruch they were - had a fabulous house nicknamed the Treehouse - on Pt Loma, overlooking Coronado and the ocean/bay in San Diego
LOL, yes, Hurshy, the British slang should do it (my husband is a Limey). It will confuse the American trolls, if nothing else. :)
rich not ruch....
Lady- I Yahoo! image searched teapots and found it. I thought it was really neat.
Can anyone please clue me for the last he6/27 and he5/14?
It looks like an art piece, as opposed to a functional teapot
We dont have trolls in America, they all went extinct
True, but when you collect teapots, do you really use all of them?
No, not the expensive ones
Correction, ladynoire... they all took a freigter to the U.K.
I have one of the Russian blue and white ones, that is just lovely, but it was too expensive to actually use
We do too have them here, ladynoire! They just disguise themselves as humans.
Freighter, that is. A large cargo vessel, okay!?
hetty, do you have the present and past tense of paid attention?
I have a 6/27 that is past tense of an he 4/6, the 5/14 is plural of the 4/6
Judi, did you make your icon with a South Park character generator thingy? We were making those at work one day - fun!
are you talking about teapots or trolls taking a freighter to UK?
Yes, Krista. Scandalous, some of the icons you can make there.
teapots full of trolls, of course
hetty, I believe it was the teapots who went to the UK and the trolls which one couldn't use if they were too expensive.
Yes, Vicuna, have those. also present tense 3rd person of same verb. It's after thatI come unstuck
do trolls drink tea?
Only the most expensive ones!
Krista, is your Babble join date the same as your birthday? If so, we share!
Son, now we ave teapots and trolls sorted, what about the LAST he6/27 ad he/5/14?
Sorry, hetty. Don't have, or else I would have clued them for you.
Hi everybody........hows todays grid?
I guess I don't have them, either, hetty. By the way, did you see stidmama yesterday?
Thank, Leigh. I'll bide my time withn those and move on. It's amazing how letters rearrange themselves when you stop trying to make them into words
Thank, Leigh. I'll bide my time withn those and move on. It's amazing how letters rearrange themselves when you stop trying to make them into words
'Lo, Flask. Hot again there in Scotland today?
on phone, Judi. brb
help with the Ws please?
True, hetty. =)
Hello, Flask.
Oh yes....very......am a nice shade of brown....lol
*holding for Krista*
"A garden is a lovesome thing, God wo-." Turn that word into first person present and past tense.
i found the past tense....working on the other...
Yes, Vicuna, if you look at yesterday's chat log on the archives you'll see several messages from us both nd today I've just had a super email thanking me for thenday's pleasures. Actually, theywere all ine; Stid made me feel so much better just bi beng here. She and mom and boys shared lunch and birthday cake with Alan. jilli andme--tho we saved jilli's champgne for a time when I no longer have to stay in pyjamas!
pl ending (though really thrid person present. I said it wrong before.)
(that would be *third,* of course)
ah, got it
correction, the pleasures were all mine; Stid etc.
Today Stid & co are spending more time in Victoria before heading home. She has internet at her hotel and Ithink she may well join us briefly
That's nice, hetty. It's fun to see people actually getting together in the real world, which is so much harder for people in the North American continent, being so spread out.
Yup. Stid lives a lot nearer to us than she does to
Yay for seeing stid!
most of her fellow babblers in the States
She took pics of all of us cavorting on our deck
oooh, I hope she'll post them! I'd like to see some cavorting! :)
Anyone from NC here?
Sorry 'bout that...had an urgent call for work...the song Safety Dance was on and they had to play it over the phone for me...my birthday is July 4, Judy.
from work
or Penn?
Yup. Stid gave me a gorfeous scarf she had painted (it was my birthday) and there's one pic of Alan (my husband) doing a Salome with it
OKay, any R words, by chance?
Yikes! :)
No R words.
help with the left most Os please?
oh4 - made an exclamation od4 - sounds like something you've thought of Both common Babblets.
Yes, it would be wonderful to see the photos, Hetty. Was this the first time you've met in person?
Happy Belated Birthday, Hetty!!!
thanks!
When was your bithday, Hetty? My husband's was yesterday.
So was mine, Krista, but I guess I have far more years behnd me that he has.
And Stiid and I met hrough babble only two months ago when I declared she would forever be my cyber-wife.
Anyone have a clue for the de6/24?
So yes this was the first time in person. She's every bit as lovely as she sounds.
ma'am, you're credit card has been de****
de6/24 - They said I was guilty, but I de6/24 everything.
Thanks, featherbee.
He turned 40...it sounds like you had a wonderful time! I'm so glad. It's always so interesting to see if people are as you imagined!
How about a clue for the first da5/12, then?
That means he's four years younger than my youngest daughter!
da5/12 - a kind of fish, sounds like boy's name with vowel ending
just a baby. I wish him well; may the stars shine on you both
Vicuna - got it by monkey typing. Do you have a clue for the first se5/14? I've been whining for it for about a 1/2 hour now.
I will tell him, thank you very much. I think that number (40) "spooked" him a little. I think it sounds like one is officially an adult!
Judi- there are two se 5/14's that are anagrams of one another. they involve the letter in the bottom right corner
Happy Babbling this afternoon, all. I'm putting myself down for a nap!
FIREWORKS! Tra la la la la !
WHeeee, Judi!!!!
bye Krista. Congrats Judi
hi everyone!
Oh, congrats, Judi!
can anyone help me with ad?
ad + nickname for author of "The Scarlet Letter"
hey dianediane. ad + boy's name
thanks!!!
what's wrong with lickety?
It seems that lickety doesn't have a page up for today's puzzle. Is that right?
yeppers
You can use BJ's list, via the Babblers Anonymous link down below.
anyone have the in 7/32?
I ate it up ..
You can use BJ's list in7/32 of lickety's...
Oops! wrong in ..
right, i have that one :)
torgone, that's in8--what about in7?
BJ's list? I don't see BJ in the Friends of Babble list at all... maybe I'm overlooking it.
see vicuna's post ..
in7 clue at 1:25. I guess it was too well disguised.
Oh, brilliant, Vicuna!
ahh, i was wondering what you meant vicuna. thanks!
anyone have the first se 5/14?
People won't leave me to babble in peace.
BJ's list is in the Babbler's Anonymous link, under "general", and then "stats"
That is just tragic, smithchick!
hi everyone - happy bday hetty!
se5/14 is like singer--transpose vowels andomit final consonant
remove a vowel from an se6/24 for an se5/14
Hello, deb.
first se 5/14?
It is in****. I've had kids interrupt, hubby interrupt, mother interrupt, and sister interrupt. RAWR!
Hey, deb!
Then another se5/14 is an anagram of the one hetty clued.
Jaime, I just told you--take "singer", switch the two vowels, amd omit the last consonant
no, i have that one. i want the first one.
Now switch the two consonants in the middle, Jaime.
yay, thatks!
then switch the two consonants
j'aime jaime
:)
Greetings!
Howdy she ..
Hello, swmbo.
Just started babbling for today, it is a hot, sunny day in my part of Nova Scotia
Finally done... I guess I have to go be productive now. Any clues before I go?
does anyone have the de 5/16, 7/44, 6/27?
i assume they are related, but I can't find them.
Hi SWMBO! Hot here in CO too... .99 degrees!
I do but I don't de*** to give it to you!
thanks Jaime, but I am just starting so the words are still flowing so to speak :)
Don't worry folks, I'm here!!!!!!
yes, please, smith. he6/27 and he5/14? (last two)
I haven't de****** to give that clue.
The are present tense, past tense, third person singular present tense, of condescend, as in The princess de7/44 to let the duke kiss her hand.
Well Cadfan, we are not anywhere 99, maybe mid 80s, but a great ocean breeze to keep everything comfy
he6/27- listened to he5/14-listens to
Well hullo movieman.Where have you been hiding?
Hello, movieman. We were clearly very worried!
oh. .update.. it's now 102%
Okay, Vi and movieman have the situation under control. Bye all!
Bye, smitthie!
(Extra t just for good luck?)
I've been to see Pirates 2 & Superman Returns.....
got it!
that was a great helpk thanks!
did you enjoy them movieman?
hmm, lots of trouble with de words. last de 6/21?
Thanks, smith I had them recorded in the wrong place. I guess what I really need is the second he4/5 and the he6/24
Might it be to hold someone back? de6/21
Certainly did, I though Brandon Routh did a pretty good job as Superman/ Clark, considering he had some mighty big boots to fill.......
te5/12?
Hetty, I think you must need the thing on top of your neck, and two-he6 monster...
it's a weird one. t +opposite of beginning with the third vowel inserted in the middle
thanks!
anyone have the first da word?
oops, no, wrong point values. You need what you do and what you did to your house last winter 9with a furnace)
I have that Vicuna, also the past tense for a directn taket. What comes net?do=
thanks, Haz!
You're welcome, Jaime.
I have the in7/32, cluez for the other ones plz? (oh, and you may as well chuck in cluez for the 8's as well)......
tr agaimn hetty--also the past tense of he4/6 used as a verb .Next?
Sorry, hetty. Did you see 1;43?
Go it. It's a psychological quirk, not seeing a word that's too uncomfortable today. Ta Vicuna
da5 is an aquarium fish, start with first name of former VP Quayle, and add a moon of Jupiter (or part of the refrain of "Old MacDonald")
in6/24 to eat (before digesting); in8/55 past tense thereof. Movieman
Hi guys...any clues for the ei8 please?
the other in6 is an adverb in **** and in word
jee whiz, i'm no genius, but i figured it out
You'll never know this, jee whiz, but a famous scientisthas a name which is also a common noun--
Nice clue Dorens...
ah, it really was a nice clue...thanks.
Nice clue, dorens
thanks, jw, hoped it didn't come off as snotty
I'm missing a te4/5. I have "golfed" and "toy bears" what am I missing?
jee whiz please stop taking words out of my mouth
Dorens, I would never think of you as "snotty." YOu are always very nice.
As we always say, great minds think alike, Hetty.
oh, thanks jw....it's amazing how we can fool folks here.
Great minds such as, for example, ei8!
gives a whole new meaning to "snotty" --never saw that before
lol, vic
On Babble, we get to be the people that we are, and show our true selves.
guess we can all be snotty then!
i like that better...but the nice folks here do bring out the best in us, don't they?
ewwwwww
Still missing 3 7's..........apart from the in7, what else am I missing?
no,hetty---snotty is sort of nose up in the air, think i'm better than you tyoe
do7/36 - gave
I have a do7 that extends from a do 6
have to attend to problematic ablutions. See you later
be well
Hmmm. wonder about those problematic ablutions....
Farewell, hetty.
We snotty people dont discuss these things, LOL
But occasionally snotty folks do de5/16 to speak with others.
ohhhh
actually, truly snotty folks wouldn't chat much at all
but those who de***** to speak occasionally, probably wouldnt' like to give clues
Anyone who ne6/24 a clue should have their requests de6/24.
I'd better speak occasionally, in case I get the snotty label.
no, haz, not you ever...you're a great cluer
But don't speak so much that you are labelled a troll...
It's getting the balance right.....
troll? do tell
hi everyone, what's going on?
Oh dear, what a difficult tightrope on which to balance...
like me ..
i'm a snotty person...but it's only because i have the flu right now. lol.
Hello, firefly. We are attempting to analyse the preciselt correct amount to chat.
Torgone are you likening yourself to a troll, or someone who is balanced?
Yes ..
Is that a torgone conclusion?
ok i feel really stupid but i can ot find that de 6 /24. what is wrong with me??? (well that should tie up the log) LOL
interesting...
I'm a fairly balanced troll ..
aknitter, if you overcharged, your credit card would be de6.
de6/24 - the past tense of what a criminal almost always tries to do when confronted with the evidence.
But not me!
I wouldn't do that!
What more could one want in life than to be a fairly balanced troll?
Is that a rhetorical question, Jee? :)
i was like, "declined"? Haz, you made it most clear once I started thinking on Jee's clue :)
Vicuna, go ahead and confess
Only if you want to respond Vicuna
Glad the clue helped, firefly.
Actually, I am the goodeset little goody goody who ever had nothing interesting to tell...
(I meant "goodest." See how good I am? I can't even bring myself to type such an incorrect word!)
oh ty all for your patience -- i finally found that de (feels smarter now)
ad6/21?
Do you feel like a veritable ei8, aknitter?
hey movieman! we're almost twins today...
ad + a boys nickname starting with n
A trollette, Jee?
ad6/21 - ad + nickname for the author of "The Scarlet Letter."
i'm missing a de 5. i have good d/5, and the 5,7,6 combo
actually i am prettier than ei8 LOL
how many n 4 are there?
please
vicuna, are you being sardonic?
I'm sure you are, aknitter! :)
de5/12 - pluralise the backward golfing te4/5
Sardonic in which comment, Jee? I fear that I may be slipping precariously toward the troll side of chat and perhaps had better shut up for a bit!
5 n/4's sha
thank you Haz
nada
sorry
that would be one of them LOL
thanx abe im missing 1 4 letter word and 1 5 letter word ones a n ones a s
You're welcome abe.
in6/24 oggy! lol
na, Vicuna...we are just having fun...keep chatting...you are never a troll
vicuna, let me explain something. you have you say things like "luv u" and SHOUT alot to be considered a troll
Whew!
I LUV YA FOR THAT< JEE!
(Just kidding!)
>^_^<
and jk...
VICUNA....luv ya too....ha! (sorry wassup, had to do it)
no, i'm probably the closest to a troll here anyway. (ok, back to the grid.)
Man, I guess I can't even get the trollishness right! :)
still not sure about trollism....the attributes requisite to acquiring the name, so please let me know when we see one, ok? thanks
n4- spanish nothing, strong desire, bird home, not day, lymph
huh, "eden" not found in dictionary....
I think the definition of troll is quite simple: someone who's trying to ruin the site for others, for their own amusement. I don't think you're anywhere near that, wassup.
You want names?
sure. love names
Dorens, you will know one when you see one...they also throw around profanity alot.
yikes, the g's are killing me today
thanks vicuna!
++++++++ fireworks+++++++
yeah for sha!
Usually, a troll is someone who pops up out of nowhere, and disrupts the chat with insults, profanity, ALL CAPS, and assorted general mayhem to ruin everyone else's day ..
oh, ok, and pardon my lack of perspicacity, but whence cometh the name? don't see the connection.
yay sha!
and hooray for SHA ***(((((^^^^^^^###########
Congrats, sha. Class, please notice that sha, who has not been wasting her time chatting, like some of you, has already finished her grid.
haha vic...ppoint taken... and you???????
HI THERE ALL YOU JERKS!
and I see the point there torgone, it's the popping up out of nowhere, right?
thanx all
sorry - couldn't resist.
lol fiz.
There are trolls who know they are trolls. There are some who are trolls and who don't realise it.
i did say i was going back to the grid, didn't i?
(if i was really a troll it would have been a much better insult - trying to keep it clean for the kids)
I still have 12 left and am having a terrible time with h's. And I'm wasting all my time chatting. :/
Yes, Dorens, as if jumping out from under a bridge ..
so you say there are acual babbler who troll? or are trolls just obnoxious intruders?
I'm trying to keep chatting down to a minimum today - limited time to complete the grid. Much troll trouble today?
Watch out for twilight lupines, for a start. Seriously, I think there are more stupid people than pure trolls.
my lickety clues are for yesterday-can this be corrected or no clues for me today-i did refresh
no clues 2day majmom
need bj's list
Intruders, Dorens.
bye all
majmom, you can use BJ's list under Babbler's Anonymous, under general.
oh so not just me-must be vacation time lol
bye sha!
majmom - Lickety didn't have time to do the clues today, but if you click on Babblers Anonymous, then general, then stats, you'll find Brandyjack's list.
Bye, sha.
vi - love your icon today
last ge 5 please
Thanks, TheFiz. I made it myself. :)
NM the monkey just found it for me LOL
hello all.
really? it's amazing - i'm impressed. drawn or painted?
Hello Charm.
Vicuna, I also like your icon ... and your profile is hilarious!
Hi, Haz.
Technically, neither, actually, Fiz. It's a block print: design carved into a block of rubber, then printed with ink.
Vic, do you create the stamp?
Well - keep talking, cause each thing you say leaves me more impressed. Some talented folks here in babbleland!
Thanks, ch. :)
Yes, Charm. I sketch the design, transfer it to rubber (and sometimes wood), carve it out, and print. If you want to see my other designs, there's a link to my web site in my profile. Thanks to all for flattering comments!
Does anyone have the third letter of the ae 5/12? Or a clue? I'm stuck.
A clue given earlier for ae5 was "what a Cockney might call the Greek underworld."
aed sam, don't know what it means
Wow - vi - just got back from your website - you're phenomenal!
okay, I give in. Clues please for the cluster of de words between the plural insecticide and the refusal past tense. They are de5/16, de7/44 and de6/27. I know logically where I am supposed to go, but can't seem to connect with anything...
just peeked in for a moment. will chat later.
samurph - do you know about the line in Julius Caesar - 'Beware the ide* of March' The ae5 follows the same pattern.
well, ch - i suppose I could de*** to tell you.
we don't de*** to taljk to trolls
de5/16 = the snooty waiter de***** to take our order at last.
oh grrroannn... pass the fish please! Thanks
Thanks Haz, finally got it!
de5/16 - same pattern as what a queen does, but replace the r with d
Great, samurph!
I kept trying to go forward instead of back. Thanks again all.
may i have a clue for the ha 6, not given to or wearing a cap? thanks
Thanks again, Fiz. I am blushing and simpering like anything. Blast it, my children are demanding snack. What makes them think I want to attend to their needs when I am busy babbling?
fireworks!

Yay ShadeEagle!

in7 - a word used when alternatives are given.
Yay Abe!

that bright light in the sky is not the sun but the light going on over my head found them
LOL ... okay, the root word means to condescend, like the king who de***** to speak to us
aknitter- de 5/16 - Michael Kors de***** clothing. remove the s
sorry de 6/27. de 5/16 is singular, de 7/44 is past tense
Is lickity away this week?
I'm off --- happy hunting everyone!
bye ch
and hello everybody
bye ch! aknitter, i'm sorry if i've confused you
Is lickity away this week?
you didn't confuse me abe i did that all by myself
No, but he knew that he wouldn't have time to do the clue page today.

de 6/27?
I'm all for the separation of church and babble but still it seems that eden should be a legitimate word...
whoops, 6/24
amen mam!
de6/24 - past tense of verb meaning the opposite of admit
thanks Haz
proper noun, mam
but isn't eden another word for paradise?
HI all, first da5/12 please
name of specific place, however, not general...qualifies as proper noun, needs to be capitalized
it's a fish, peri...starts with man's name then two vowels
thanks Dorens

yesterday he said he wasn't going to update today
Fran, It was actually me who brough up your name. I said that I knew you lived in Hawaii ut did not know how ;pmg.
ahh...just for today? or is lickety really going to stop the site?
Fran, ignore, the end of my sentence have no idea what that is
gosh, it really looks like i need to learn to use the space bar
meant to say: didn't know how long you have lived there
if that was supposed to be how long peri, i've lived here since Jan. 2002.
okay Fran, where did you live before if you don't mind my asking
i lived in Guam before that peri
Dinner done!
hi matty!
hi matty
Guam? oh, okay, did you ever live in the States
have niether 8 letter words...help?
Hi. I'm hot. It's hot. And the British haven't really discovered home airconditioning. Or window screens, oddly.
skin, one means to have consumed in 8/55
matty its too hot dont u think.
OMG, matty, at least I have central AC and a fan. and it is very hot here too
skin, the i is past tense of puttiing food in you
i have one 8...it is the in8 which means to eat something or consume it. can someone help me with the other 8?
i was born and raised in Guam, lived there till i was 35...i've never lived in the mainland, but i've traveled a lot.
and the ei, well, I 'm not a genius but i figured it out myself
Nice clue, Dorens
cathy, the other 8 is ei8, think albert and relativity
thanks
lol...great clue dorens...ty a bunch!
thanks Fran
i need help with the ji's (after all, i'm not a genius)
and why is that not a proper noun?
the ei8, that is
its probably a physical unit or somthing
beats me sam....why isn't ho 5/14?
i have two dorens, one is a holy war, the other sounds chinese, ji + two letters that sound like you're in pain
Sam, look it up. It's a common noun also
thanks fran
yw dorens?
an einstein is a unit of irradiance ... yay
an einstein is a unit of irradiance ... yay
The chinese one - I tried what you suggested...and it doesn't work!
Mam - please don't post words in the chat box!
:0 mam!
Someone already clued that ho5/14 is a bird's wing muscle--or some such arcane thing
i tried it too matty
OMG oops I'm not very bright ie I dont possess many ei8/40's
that's plain cuckoo! hetty
matty, the two letters at the end are vowels, like cat sound mi**
Me three on the ji clue
me four
yeh, so's eden, hetty
to wit: eden n 1: any place of complete bliss and delight and peace [syn: paradise, nirvana, heaven, promised land, Shangri-la] 2: a beautiful garden where Adam and Eve were placed at the Creation; when they disobeyed and ate the forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil they were driven from their paradise (the fall of man)
Fran, how many letters are there all together?
it's a ji4/9, ji + two vowels
That did it, thanks Fran
found it
Thanks, we thought you meant "ow" instead of two vowels...
Yup. Just looked at defs and couold't find it, but I'm sure some smart babbler (not cuckoo like you and me, dor) entered a valid-sounding defn. today
sorry, didn't realize the W connected!!
Got it - thanks!
Does anyone have the je and ji 5 words?
the ouch word is another ji4
jeewhiz, holy wars
i think i need the je5...(is there even a je5?
So tell me about this ho5/14...

ji5/je5 are the same except the second letters
matty, they make the civic and the accord
That did it, Fran - thanks!
Thanks oggy....got them

i'm better with spanish
mam, said she understand japanese...a little
I speak some German (lived there for just over a year...)
mon wazzo est dans la frigo, n'est ce pas?
wow. thats pretty cool
just because I play babble does not make me female...
The omplete OED cites honde and honda as archaic forms of the noun hand. Also cites "hondabend". Hmm. Enough to send you round the bend I'd say
matty, my dad learned german so he could read old anthropology text written about micronesia
why isn't "teenie" a word?
remember, gay males play babble too...
Sure. Who could forget Mikey?
needs a "y" lady
i wondered that too ladynoire
sorry mam, 9 to 1 chance you were female
ahh, thats why
I know... its just kinda funny
actually, some straight males play babble too
well, I'm up to 72 words, my brain is fried
Also, I'd kinda assumed that mam was a nickname for mum :) Hetty, please don't use words from the grid in the chat!
brb, son wants a sandwich.
amazing how kids can't respect the fact that babble comes first!!
How old is son?
Sorry, Matt, got carried away. I was quoting the OED, not the grid..that way danger lies.
That's ok...
ok, i'm missing the last da 4/5 and 5/12 set. help please?
oh, and hi! (how rude!)
Feather, take today's dat* and change the last letter to the 4th vowel
just trying to knock a few out while doug changes, then we're going out for dinner
Hi feather!
Hetty, interesting icon!
feather. da 5/12 is like what patrick swayze said to demi moore in ghost..change first vowel
got em thanks!
I've no idea what he said to her -- not seen it..
the 4/5 is missiing one of the double consonants in the 4/12
great clue, dorens! Hi everyone!

Matty - its a five letter word for repeating a word or sentence

if it has to do with the holy war, I can't figure out how to spell it
peri, alternate spelling of ji 5/24 -- just change the second letter
I'm stupid. The only word I can think of rhymes with "ash" and there's no "a" contiguous to the "st
je 5 is the same as the ji 5. yes, holy war.
peri, all you change is the first vowel from the Ji
the Fiz, can't figure out how to spell either of them
i havent played in a while, how does the tile stats thing work?
hetty - go for a word ending in "w"
Fran, I know how they start, just can't figure out how they end :)
peri, ji + owned in the past
peri - past tense of has
hetty, st + it hurts
Oh got it. I'm no st**away aboard ship.THANKS!

BettyAnne: a tiny amount, just an i***
i have 26 to go without the list, but the way the monkeys spelled these last few words i think i better just head for the list
lol fire - ok, that explains that!
Thanks Golux

Hiya, helen!
hey vic - i was reading your profile & i have a question for you - i see you're a quilter, cool! i used to quilt, but no longer have the patience - i am looking for a quilt, queen or king, but rather specific - i want log cabin design, in pastel pink, light green & white or off white - do you know where i can find something like that at a reasonable price?
great fire!!
sorta
I miss Lick's list, I keep forgetting what I got, maybe I should print it out...
me too I hope it comes back
I have 82 words, how ya doing?
hi again everyone!
hi helen! have you looked on ebay?
I got a massage today so I am only at 47
hiya fran!
I printed out Brandy Jack's list! It is about the same as Lickety's list, but I like Lickety's list much better.
yes fran, i have & also googled - i know i have to go back there cause things change all the time
asho - clues pls
oh yeah... how was that, like I need to ask! you deserved it!
Hello helenkeller! How are you Did you finish grid yet?
hi min!
fran - in that process, i found some awesome 'artsy' quilts that are just amazing!
(I really shouldn't have spoken up, since I was only waiting for my husband to eat dinner, and now he's ready. However, he's an understanding man, and when it comes to a quilt question...) The most reasonable prices on quilts are definitely at places like Wal-Mart, Christmas Tree Shops, and other places where they sell ones made in China. I know Company Store has lots of quilts, and they may have something in a design like that. Or, of course, you could make your own! Seriously, log cabin is about the easiest style there is.
I forgot your clowny are'nt you
Does anyone have a clue for the ae 5/12 word please
it was good we are going to dinner in a minute
i am good - i had my massage yesterday, but lara still makes me jealous & no i still have 21 to go
min, like assistants, but spelled wrong
hi min - misspell past tense of a*** (helped)
Minver, the clue given before for ae5 was "what a Cockney might call the Greek underworld."
minver, think of the word for "assistants" misspelled
have a nice dinner out.. I made enchiladas tonight, they were yummo!
Thank you muchly Jen34.I got ae word from your clue
Does anyone have a clue for the ah 5/14 word please?\
yw, minver!!
vic - i've looked in all those places, i get the company store catalog every other day (or so it seems) - yeah, a friend visited some amish folks in indiana & they wouldn't take a special order on log cabin for just that reason - too easy. see, i need to replace the one i made many years ago & i want exactly the same thing! i just don't want to do the work :) thank you & thank your understanding, patient, strong & handsome husband for me
minver, if you get this clue, you're ah*** of the game
Never mind I just got my ah word. Thank you anyway.
helen, looks like it may be time to make a change!! :-)
or make a quilt?
no fran - i think i am part autisitc, i don't wanna!!!!
brb, son wants popcorn.
clowny - clues pls
ah5 clue = go ah***, make my day
ooo, popcorn
change, that is!
NO
hi babblers!
YES
hi ping
hiya ping!
helen, maybe you can just replace a few blocks or patches here and there on your present quilt.
anybody have the io 4/4? it's hiding from me.
And my husband appreciates all your flattery! :)
sam, I'm not giving you one io** of a hint
Maybe it's just too tiny for you to see, samurph. 'Cause it's really really small!
a
vic - i wish! fraying around edges from too many washings & on edges of squares & on edges of strips - i should just name it 'fray, the quilt' lol
is everyone adults
lol vic - men, so cute!
nope!
Okay, that's too much. I made a king-sized quilt and one of the fabrics faded badly, but it's just too much to replace it all, and I vowed I would never ever again make anything king-sized!
clowny - A bird sleeps in this
yeah vic! i am so hearing that! so much work & soooo cumbersome - then you have to have a place to store the monstrosity between stitiching sessions
(Poor husband now gave up on me, ate his dinner in five minutes standing at the counter, and wandered off to watch "Make Way for Ducklings" on video with the kids...)
Hey Babblers I'm back with 38wrds to go.
hi faerie!
Hello, faerie.
lol vic
hiya faeri!
Hi Vicuna and Fran and Helen :)
hi, faeri!
clowny - ha + the first two letters of deer
Hi Jen :)
Hello Ping! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
so are we all listless today?
Not I!
faerie, your icon is gorgeous! always like to see what you'll come up with next.
Hi faeriekae! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid!
I've not pulled BJ's list out yet but I may have to
i went to list with 15 left
I'm full of vim and vigor, and using all the list I can get! :)
Hi Minve-I'm great.
How do you find the list on BJ's page?
i always get to the list and realize I've missed a ton of 4-letter words
faeriekae, I'm using Brandy's. It is Just like Lickety's.
don't you hate that jen??
clowny - gimme clues
went to list with high 20's to go
Rumple, go to Babbler's Anonymous, then click general, then click stats.
Yeah it looks like I'm going to have to to get BJ's list out. I'm stuck
rumpelstiltskin, you have to goto Babblers anonymous
yes, but at least it's relatively easy to find them . . .
I
I'm just seeing vowels now...no words
Now how the heck is that ei8 in the dictionary but yoyo is not?
Does anyone have a clue for the de 7/44 word please
brb, son wants chocolate milk now.
yum, send some of that our way, fran
I was disappointed about yo-yo, too, but I suspect that the hyphen is the key. (Although looking for rhyme and reason in Enable is always dangerous.)
minver, it's the past tense of de 5/16
i'm watching the news - it seems that fema spent $68,000 on 2000 pairs of dog booties, so dogs could search the rubble, but dogs weren't used to them so they didn't wear them - wow! what a trememdous waste!
if you don't have the 5/16, it rhymes with what a king does over his subjects
Does anyone have a clue for the de 6/27 word please
clowny - g + eds
that is obscene Helen
hell, for $68,000 i could have quilted 2000 pairs of booties! LOL
minver, the 6/27 is the plural of the 5/16
LOL no kidding Helen
At least booties are non-perishable. Presumably they can save them for future use. Or is that too sensible for the government?
lol helen
min, add an S to the de5/16
Vicuna that is much to sensible
*wracks brain to think of alternate use for dog booties*
Adam1, could you please make your clues a little less obvious? Make 'em work for it!
We can thank our President Bush for using his brain.
i fear faeri is right :(
Helen, make yourself a new quilt, and at every blcok think to yourself "This could be a dog-bootie"
lol jen - go for it!
lol vic!
little tiny sandbags?
Nose warmers for tenrecs!
i'm back...btw, help yourselves to the popcorn, it's really good...kettle corn flavored.
LOL you all are killing me
what are tenrecs?
Thank you Jen34 for your de clues. Finished de words
Uh oh, everyone stop! We don't want to kill faerie!
that's it -- popcorn bags for people on a diet
yw, minver! :)
Does anybody have a clue for the do 6/21 clue please
It's alright I don't have x's in my eyes yet LOL
minver, to give to charity
min, to give something to a charity
Tenrecs are insectivores with long snuffly noses. They were in the grid the other day, is the only reason anyone would have heard of them.
Never mind, I just got the do 6/21 word. Thank you!
do6/21--to give (to charity)
hi lib!
hmmmm, must have been the grid i didn't get to finish - but i applaud they way you used the new word in a sentence - gold star for vic!
good one, vi!
hi, fran!
Hi Libarebel
Ooooo! I love gold stars! (Remember the time everyone was handing out gold stars, only to be admonished since "star" was in the grid?)
hello, faerie-- very nce icon!
ummmm yes I do remember that
lol vic!
Thanks Lib :)
speaking of stars, i'll be right back, going to do quote puzzlers games real quick
brb doggie wants to go out.

min - you were my phantom word the other day - i think all your letters were in the grid
min, is your name taken from three states? or am i just reading into it too much...
feather, the canyon looks great! so realistic.
was a pain in the you know what to do!
can someone help me with the to 6/21
Very good feather! You're right! Now can you guess which three? Noone in my family knew what it meant.
hopefully that'll be the hardest part
minnesota, vermont, new york
to 6/21 is to plus third person singular he, she ** + s.
i've meant to ask you about it for the longest time!
debb, past tense of to4/4 that sounds like how a child might say potty
Featherbee has just won a free round trip to Florida!
just peekng--
hi hetty!
thank you guys!
ooh, can i come too!
lol, yay! ok, now why those 3? past places you've lived?
So sorry debbinla, I gave you the wrong clue! Oops!
no worries - fran to the rescue -- but min i was thinking i have to brush up on my grammar
Hi all--wanted to see if my icon had worked--ook for ever to find an accptablone and darn it , it's not there. .

Not only have you won a trip to Florida, but you have also won tickets for five whole days at Disney world!

if anyone's looking for a squirrel picture still, this was my second choice, anyone can take it! http://www.daniel-neubauer.de/ima ges/squirrel.jpg
I better not move to anymore states or else I'll have to change my name, but Im thinking of moving to Ct.
hetty, either your browser or your ISP server is saving an old version of the page
hetty, do you refresh, or press F5?
hello all!
Min, where in CT? I grew up there
hi babblephish
Thanks for explaining that to me, Fran, I'm cybernetically challenged
hi BP!
where are you currently min?
it will probably be there tomorrow hetty
and I've just pressed F5
I've been lucky enough to live in such wonderful places in this lovely country of ours
did that help hetty?
Hi, back again, hopefully to finish off - have 5 to get

Born in NYC, raised in CT, then in San Diego before moving to Wine Country
need ha4/5 - one of the group of 3 together, items #4, 5, 6 on the list of ha's please
ok, was it me or was word builder difficult today?
hetty, i don't suppose you know how to clear the cache on your browser?
flosey, i'd love to help a fellow saltspringer. What do you need?

Hello nrkii! How are you? Did you finish the grid yet?

feather, it was really tough, but someone got an absurd number of points on it!
hiya nrkii
i know!!! i saw that! can't wait to see how
Franmag, the short answer is no. Not to worry
Right now I am in Westchester New York. I want to move to southern Connecticut. My sister lives there.
feather, i messed up all of them! my son was being a pill and was bothering me while i was trying to do them!!
Yeah the SR Plum is from here among most other Plants. This is the home of Luther Burbank
lol, i do them either when daniel's napping, or eating safely in his high chair
even Idahoe potatoes are from here
Fran, did you see in the forum the post about "Do you answer the phone"?
he's usually not bad, today he was trying to irritate me!
ol - funny babble
Idahoe???
ha, i saw that one! stupid phone rang during secret word the other day, i muted the ringer
That was a Dan spelling!
no nrk, where? at quote puzzler or babanon?
My mother was born in Bristol Connecticut. My sister lives in Goshen Connecticut. My sister-in-law lives in Bethel, Connecticut. I would like to leave near Bethel
the ha's ound mostly Scots--you kjniw how they add gratuitous "e"s. try adding one to present ant past tenses of the verb to have, h ha*, she ha etc.
that would be nice to be near family min
I do them at work, so a few times someone has come to my office in the middle of one of the timed puzzles, and I just say, "can I catch up with you in 3 minutes?" (without even looking up)
fran, at quote puzzler
can anyone help me with the ho6/24 and the in 6/24? i've bee monkey-ing for hours
lol nrkii! smoooooth!
Bethel is beautiful! I grew up in Milfored and lived in New Caanan and Wilton before moving to SD
lol nrkii
ho 6/24, was very sweet
Got some Coast Guard in the fam?
ho 6/24 is dripping with bee byproduct
then there's the scots way of saying the present participle for ha6
in 6/24, it was eaten, or yes in**** you can!
I have the 3 that start with same first 3 letters, need 1 more
flosey, have the one to detest?
one more ha 4/5
yes
So what amde you move to South Dakota Babblephish
there are 6 that start with the same 3 letters flo (ha second vowel)
i only see 4 ha4/5s
Dan diego... sorry
SAN Diego
This is why i have such a hard time getting all of the words.... I can't type to save my life
"I ha* me douts"
now make it 3rd person present and past tenses
now make it 3rd person present and past tenses
beautiful squirrel hetty
thank you very much
Moved there after my first divorce to be closer to the fam
and add a snake for ha5
thank hetty, got it
or a present participle ending for ha6
now the last ha6/24
are you gettin them flo?
how's everyone feeling tonight, by the way? LOL
if you waer a h* yiu arev this
if you wear a ha* on your skull, you are ha****
are we despair free?
positive and upbeat nrk!! lol
lol, no angst here!
great! I vote, no more "planet earth" theme days for this bunch!
uh oh, did it spark another discussion?
nrkii, I am forever hopeful--you know, the thing with feathers that perches in the soul?
thanks hetty got that now
nrkii, did you see my earth icon earlier?
3 to go, need the second he6/27
feather, I don't think I did
I was only in chat for a couple minutes earlier
nrk, was it the theme or anomy being in yesterday's grid that did it?
the second he/27 is past tense of he** above it
just brought it back up for ya
Fran, good point, I forgot about the word
oh yes! I did see that earlier -- wonderful icon!
I am feeling great nrkii! I finished 2 hours before the flip! If I can tear myself away from this grid,I can go to bed before the flip! I'll probably be here at the flip!
one of my faves now!
i want to change into my squirrel now too, brb
words can be insidious in their effects
going back to squirrel fishing
that's the first he6/27, I need the last one, just before the lase he word
the squirrel fishing is hysterical
sorry, last he word
okay, here's my icon.
flosey, payed attention too (past tense of he 4/6)
all the he6's are past tens of the word above them
LOL Fran!!!
ha! that's great fran!
payed? paid? where is my brain?
don't you love it??
anyone need a squirrel? i've got a cute icon up for grabs!
well if you can se6 something you can payed it too!
it's not paid fo, your brain nrkii
wow, here I thought everyone would be going with Rockey and Bullwinkle
i thought the ice age squirrel
Hello everyone!!
brb, baby is fussing
hi mrp!
bingo, got lthat one, sorry, my head is spinning, now I need de4/5 the one immediately after the insect repellent
fran, good point. That past tense has been worrying me all day
fran, good point. That past tense has been worrying me all day
hi mrp
repellant
what about it flosey?
just before the repellant one is the plural one flosey
de4/5 immediately after the insect repellant
like D's
de4/5 bears live in de**, same as a room inthe house
Hi mrpresident! How are you? Did you finish this yet?
it's before the repellant, not after
hi mr p
oh, i see
hi mrp!
well, hopefully someone else got use of that clue! lol
Lickety's clues are up for those who need a last hour resuscitation
before the repellant is a 5/14 word, don't need that, I need the 4/5 following it
feather, you clued the word flosey was asking for, I just guessed that maybe she wants the one before it
as I look at the list, flo, the insect repellant is folloed by its plural--the next de4 is pl of where bears or foxes live
aww, thanks mrp!
Just started Minver!
flosey, before the repellant is a 4/5
d + double vowel + plural letter
flosey-try the plural of the spelling of the letter
fireworks
yay debb!!!
yay debb!!!!
congrats debb!
mrpresident, did you take over the list from Lickety?
thank you for alot of help!!
aeds
hi eva!
debbinla gets *~*~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~*~*
add a vowel near the end eva
ok, how about the last se6/24 please
hi Fran!
eva, put another e before the s and you got a word!
ooops!
Congratulations debbinla on your fireworks! Hooray!
past tense the se4/5 above it flosey
flosey, stupid stupid word, add past tense ending to se** a letter
it is a stupid word
I occassionally help put up the list... haven't taken it over as such, just going with the flow...!!
just looked it up, it's a nautical term, a variation of the word asc*****
stupid, stupid word!!
okay, just checked the definition, and it's just barely not as stupid as I thought it was... there is another meaning for se** which is to heave on a swell of water in ocean...
LOL that sure is a strange one - who'd have thought, thanks
okay, maybe it's not that stupid then!
hey feather, who let you in my brain?
that was nice of lickety to put it up, cause we know he's busy today
one to go and I'll have to check lickety
lol, lemme out! it's strange in here!
nrk, have you installed those exit signs yet?
very very strange...
LOL fran, you can check out any time you like, but...
hmm, while i'm here, maybe i can pick up some strategy or speed for the puzzler games....
you can NEVER leave!!!
and share them with me feather!
song will be stuck in my head for days now... enjoying the music feather?
Why dont we go thro all the de's for flo? There's not alive; head of a university dept.;an act; its plural; the plural of the fourth letter of the alphabet;the famous repellant; its plural;the verb that rhymes with "reigns" in its 3 tenses;the word that means opposite of admitted or confessed;the place foxes live pl; and the verb to hold or make wait
you know what's funny? i'm imagining feather speaking with kind of a echo like she's in a deep cavern!
i think some of my problem is the speed. like in cross word, the mouse never clicks just right for me for some reason.
lol fran!!
yep! who was that, guns n roses?
halloooooooo! Halllooooo?
the Eagles feather
or did GnR do it too?
lol, oops. slightly different band. don't know how i went there!
no, you're right.
very sorry, someone gave me the correct clue - it is the one immediately before the repellant, may I please have it again
well crossword is going away I think -- douglas doesn't really like it
me either.
i love top letters, that's my fave.
d + double vowel + plural letter
flosey, plural of the letter spelled out
FLO I just gave the ALL--scroll down
it'splural of the 4th letter
i like secret word, but only because it's the only one i beat everyone with!!
feather did you see what happened to me today on top letters? I got like a 42!
I wuz robbed
what??????? how?
what happened nrk?
did you hit a button by accident?
did you see we tied for 91 points on word builder?
I put IMPEACHERS as the top word, and it rejected it.
Hint for the AD anyone?
Now if the dictionary accepts IMPEACHER, how can it not accept IMPEACHERS?
hee, i double checked that one before i did it
or, flo, plural of the river where the famous miller lived
sorry hetty, not getting it -
ad + man's name (Hawthorne's first name, for short)
flosey, d + double vowel + plural letter (or Sandra D**, plural)
Got it Thank you ALL - fireworks
flosey how does the 4th letter sound when you say it? Spell tt phoneticaslly. Now add a snake
Devil and the D**p Blue Sea + plural letter
YAY FLOSEY!!!!!!
yay flosey!!!!!
yipee flosey!
Thanks for all your patience
how can some of these people score so friggin high? 968 in triplet? incredible!
Well I must say I'm relieved , flo, that was as bad as being flustered myself. Well done.
thanks so much hetty
well Fran got 948 yesterday...
yowza!
was quite flustered because of unpleasant news just received
oh yeah! the words just connected for me.
thanks for the AD... question... Didn't that use the "A" twice???
sorry flosey! is everything okay?
never mind. i am blind as well as a bad typist
I'm sorry to hear that, flo. Call me if you want to talk
I love this, on Top Letters, I am ranked #22. Total players ... 22
about it.
yes, good friend is very low - won't be pulling through
sorry to hear that flosey
don't forget my 1002 in secret word (i'm going to milk that one for a while)!
hee, that was awesome fran
oh flosey...that's too bad.
lol nrkii, 123, "awwwwwww"
i'm sorry flosey, {{{hug}}}
Love, I know the feeling well. Share if you wish; otherwise hold on.
hey feather, the high score on word builder today is from mymuse!
she goes by amused n bemused over there
really? she's amused and bemused? awesome!
thanks hetty, will hold
flosey, wish we had better words than babbledom can offer to make you feel better
oh thank you all for your concern - it does indeed mean a great deal
we all still here?
oh, coming up on 12:30 here, and I have to be up for work early... no flipout for me I fear
later nrk!
good night all - remember, wherever you go... there you are.
night nrkii!
indeed nrkii, good night and thanks for help,
love all these squirrels
feather, did you take art in school? or are you just naturally artistic?
hey one of our newscasters just used the word cony from yesterday's grid!
gnight nrkii
never took art, other than photography 101. I'm only creative/artistic when inspired...if i HAD to do it to make a living, i'd not turn anything out!
he was explaining that coney island got it's name from the rabbits that used to live there. never thought i would hear a babble word on the news.
neat fran!
my favorite medium is black and white photography. i should make an album of some of my fave pics.
well, i'm very impressed by your mountains and cliffline feather, you're doing a great job!
and your waterfall! it's going to be so cool when it
thank you! i think i erased the beginning stages of the cliff 3 times before i got the angles right!
it's all done.
next step is the farm...
I didn't realize cony was a rabbit
feather, do a watermark in photoshop first so your work doesn't get pinched.
flosey, don't forget the alt spelling...coni also
really? who'd take my pics? how'd they find them?
thanks Fran, good to know these gems
they would come up in google images and stuff like that, you haven't put a password on your albums have you?
nope, hmm. i can do that...maybe i will...easier than doing a watermark
anything you put on the web can be found. i googled my name and found an email i had sent to enter a contest at some website!!
eek! ok, going to password protect, will add to my profile
that will probably help, the search engines won't go in if they run into a password.
is no one else working on the grid? or is it that no one needs clues? very quiet for this time of day.
yeah finally finished one! Happy day!
yay sudokuaddict!!!
feather, you still here?
i need help with in 8
picking pics to upload!
help! need ge5/14 - not the beau *****
i'm going to bed, will finish teh pics tomorrow
just looked at the squirrel fishing, those two guys probably got class credit for their "experiment"!!
in8 is past tense of in6
davurs, ge*** in a bottle
night feather!
davurs same as ge4/6 with a vowel
tghe othe ge5/1 is a sprite fron a bottle
bekki, in 8 is past tense of in6 that means to eat
Thanks FranMag - got it!
yw davurs
ty hetty
hey fran what is the theme tomorrow?
squirrels leslie
ahh, nice spice squirrels you've got there
yw bekki
why thank you!
franmag--I've ever heard of the spice squirrels. Any relation to the spice girls?
that should be never. Oh, my dumb fingers
i think it's a joke album cover, not sure hetty.
probably a take off on the chipmunks.
Well, the American pronunciation of "squirrel" is rather like rhyming with girl, I suppose
how else is it pronounced?
and the chipmunks as I remember them were something quite different
awww, cute lib!
ty, fran
