Thanks Jac. I've been around for a while before the flip. Sleep well.
hey debbs and jilli!
Hi Sprite!
hmmm - lots of n's!
hi sprite
halfway - missing en8 & mo8 - what's my problem?
night Jac. How's the grid treating you guys today?
melon: need for sleep?
melon - that's just not like you
hi sprite - I have one word so far and it's an 8!
oh, yes, sprite, must nitey-nite.
woweeeee jilli!
Beautiful deer jilli
melon, i hope you mean en7 and mo7, other-wise we all have some searching to do.
yes i do Fran - i'm just flaky, still getting over a bug.
beautiful woman, frances!
lol melon, thought i had a different grid! :-)
imagine jilli, living somewhere where there are so many deer they almost become a pest... in Holland we all are impressed and go silent if we see one!
i'll gladly accept hints for the en7 & mo7 just so i can go to bed.
You're too kind jilli. Oh, you meant the icon....hehe
hahahaha frances!
melon, i don't have those yet either
I have mo7/32 plural to mo6/21, which sounds a bit like a female name.
sprite, my monkeys had told me to try that, but, silly me, i resisted. tx.
no luck on the en yet, sorry!
sp 7/32
I do have a re7/28, but that is old news, I think.
it wasn't for me sprite, thanks
what's today's theme?
Lalique glass?
yes ml
Yes ML
any kind?
or a specific item?
hi all, just in to see how big this one is, what's the theme? about time I changed my icon
hi flosey
Actually I like your icon, flosey, morning :)
laila tov, still no en 7 {sigh}

hi flosey!
lalique is the theme flosey
ty sprite - has been on for a few weeks! my sons grew up with batman
My first real boyfriend was way into batman :D Gosh, I am getting OLD!
hi flosey
Yay! Got the ja8/70.
I got some negative verbal reports re a n orange & passionfruit cake I made, cheating, re and SDA cake mix day before yesterday... too swwet too dry... etc. Just looked in fridge and only about 2 slices are left. They're still 'testing' it then?
hi Jilli - see you tomorrow night
Thought you were sleeping Jac?
ok, lalique is not in my dictionary, forgive my ignorance, what os ot
no, flosey - going to ArtSpring as are several others
cr 7/32
They should be excluded from testing the next 3 cakes you bake, Jac.
jac, they're just giving their initial taste the benefit of a doubt.
flosey, just google it
Fran..to true!
wtg bigfoot!
ty, sprite.
thanx bigfoot! a spicy one!
Now I, on the other hand, Jac... I am famous for my cake testing abilities!
oh dear, guess it'll be a small night for bridge then Jilli
Sprite - no truer word was ever typed. Good idea!
flosey, Lalique is very beautiful art glass. There are many pics if you google it.
Cake? Who has cake?
the question is: who HAD cake. And it was Jac. Before the ones who did not like it eat it all.
Sprite - I promise that if I come over to you or you to me, I will give you CAKE.
no one has commented on my lalique icon! :-(
jac has/had orange and passionfruit cake and there's some left in the fridge so we can all go finish it up (slurp0!
Jac, you're the best! :D *grabs towel to keep from drooling on keyboard*
jilli - 2/3 slices lfet in fridge.
I don't like cake, either. That's why I eat it all up, so it won't be here mocking me.
wow jac, just looked at yours close up...cool.
fran - it coils around my heart
Orange-passionfruit, oh that sounds delightful.
fran that is one of the most sought after Laliques like $10,000....
Fran, I was about to when the subject changed to cake. No lalique could beat that, lol. I LOVE the vase. Serpents, great, and beautiful colour too.
awww, thanks jilli!
LOL, bigfoot. Are you one of my children??
jili said a wo-ord, jilli said a wo-ord!
i had a hard time finding a picture of the original, a lot of ugly copies out there.
oh! thanks for the tip, sprite!!!!
jilli said a wo-ord, jilli said a wo-ord!
thanks for pointing that out, sprite.
ok, i'm exhausted, i'm outta here

night spellit

I actually have 2 more pieces that mother got whenwe were in France in the 50' and one from my Uncle that was commissioned for the Holland -American line that he worked for.
night spellit
brb
hi all, lalique is gorgeous everone
I'm allergic to parfum now. so it's in my curio cabinet....
hi andree@
that's really cool chic, you should get them insured if you don't already.
i mean if you haven't already
I don't have stuff individually insured; it cost a lot. but it comes under the contents of household.
i think i watch antiques roadshow too much!
Evening all - what's the theme tonite?
hi angb! lalique is the theme
hi angb
Oh ... what's that? Need to google it again - another learning experience on Babble
hi Angb
I have a set of RCA dogs (a salt and pepper shaker) and a Mickey Mouse mustard jar from the i939 World's Fair that was in New York; I've always wonder how much they were worth...
Lalique was a glass artist
now his pieces and designs are just called lalique glass
Thank you Fran - I like glass - also when it has a wee wine in it! Will go and have a look
they just taped in Hawaii a couple months ago
i think you mean...'especially' when it has a wee wine in it.
months before they came they put out the word for people who might have old furniture that they wanted appraised.
but then again, most things are more pretty when they have a wee bit wine in it...
very true sprite!
ok icon changed, might find a few words before bed
nice flosey!
ooooh, a dolphin! Is it an inia?
oh dear, don't know sprite, just chose one that appealed to me
don't think its nose is hairy, fran!
it doesn't look pink, but we should check for hairy nostrils
it's lovely, flosey!
ty
Couldn't get close enough to see if it had a moustache :)
:-)
I have 8 of the 10 J's. anyone have them all?
i stopped looking at 5 chic!
Oh must go - 6 year old has just declared he doesn't want to die young - tears must be sorted out
flosey - maybe you aren't familiar with the ubiquitous babbleword inia - the hairy-nosed dolphin
did you get the 8, Fran?
uh oh, sounds serious angb!
yes chic
i only have 4 j's
LOL Angb... all out of the blue?
do you need the 8 chic?
oh wait, i think you had it
the j8 was my first word!!!
no I have it thanks, fran..
I would love a clue for that 8!
sprite, it's "spicy"
hot stuff, sprite
maybe not well known in the netherlands
Yeah, I saw that earlier. Either I am being very dense or the spicy stuff is called different here.
TY for that prompt Jilli. Hi everyone - quick visit - just killing 15 minutes or so.

Bye Chic. Hi Andree
sprite ja8 is a type of chili pepper, quite hot
I am sorry, I even googled and came up empty. Thanks for trying though :)
same body organfrom a week ago is there again
we Californians know all about ja8s....
sprite - j + pie * ** mode + writing instrument + vowel
sprite its is pronounced ha not ja, does that help
a hot green or orange-red pepper, the fruit of a variety of Capsicum annuum, used esp. in Mexican cooking
that's from dictionary.com sprite.
jilli, I love you to bits. That helped. And no, NEVER heard of it. Will google it now and learn something new!
hi erda!

hi sapphie -- call in sick and don't give your throat to the kids!
might be that way sprite
"If I say nothing when you are done, you will know it was really lousy."
lol
I must be off, evil company doctor to confer with. They think I can go back to work. Me, my doctor, my therapist and all who know me say that crying hlaf the day and shaking and feeling foggy the other half might be a sign that I am not ready yet. Guess who is going to win.
Good luck sprite
thanks :)
bye sprite
oh, sprite -- sorry you're in such a bad way and I hope you win. Best of luck {{{{hug}}}}}

There is one that ends with what a dog does when he likes you ... without its last letter.
thx angb, was trying to find hump!!!
ok, about 1/3, so off to bed, back tomorrow
LOL Andree - down girl!
night, flosey, and have a good game tomorrow
Nite flosey
bye flosey
i was looking for hump too
I really don't know about you babblers and your dogs - what do you get up to?
I have been dogless for the last 3 years
ready to get another, have to decide on what kind
That sounds sad Andree.
Difficult to chose I reckon. They are so different.
someone told me there is a website to help, you fill in your requirements and computer tells you what breed is best for you
I went there once ... can't remember the link but I remember it was easy to google. Have had german shepherds until a couple of years ago when I got golden retriever
it was sad angb, I left husband moved into flat, left dog his custody , new lady didn't like dogs, gave dog to brother, brother lives in county, dog got bitten by snake and died
Oh no... when I left my husband left him with the dog as well - to keep him company. But thank goodness nothing like that happened.
the worst was a couple of months later, i moved to a house where I could have had dog
I got a cat when I was on my own and had bought a house ... but that didn't work. I'm not a cat person.
me either, I need to get a dog
Have you been on your own for only 3 years?
yes angb, was married 38 years
good morning everybody:)
Just looked at your profile - wow! Takes some guts to leave after that amount of time ... especially without the dog.
hello jean
Hi jean
Andree you have my great respect
hello jean
coping with a dog in a flat in that first year would have been the last straw
hello jean
here's one breed selection site:
http://us.eukanuba.com/eukanuba/en_US/ jsp/Euk_Page.jsp?pageID=BS&paidkw&sour ce=ps06
Know what you're saying Andree.
thx metal
and here's another: http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/search.htm
yw
thx again metal
http://animal.discovery.com/breedselec tor/dogselectorindex.do
http://www.showdog.com/Breeds/breedsel ector.aspx
and again metal
you're very welcome, here's hoping one will be of use
you might also consider, once you've breed matched... going through a rescue organization to get one of the particular breed.
I thought I might do that anyway, just go and have a look
F*I*R*E*W*O*R*K*S
it's a wonderful way to get your next critter. my bf and I did that when we got our cat/son Rock and it's been a great match all around.
yay ruthie
Good one ruthy
woooohooooo ruthy!!!
Bye everyone im off to take my son to school
See ya later
Rock was 12 1/2 when we adopted him and is now nearly 19....
Gosh metal - what sort of dog?
bf and I fell for him right away when we saw him at the shelter adoption center. he was so dignified and elegant
oh, we have a cat... no fenced yard so no dog
isn't rock your cat
maybe another time, when we have the money to put up proper fencing
yes
Aaah - explains it
Must go and get something to eat ... partner is ill ... so am feeding myself which is always difficult. See you soon
we've seen him through a leg amputation due to cancer, and a recurrence of that cancer.... he's given us so much in return... all the love we could imagine... from such a small bundle of fur and attitude
brb with a pic
later angb
there are my fellas, my sweetie and my little furry purr factory
bye Angb, enjoy your meal
nice metal
cats nice too. lol
lol, ty, I"ll tell them both and I'm sure they'll both grin

Bye Jean!
Half the family are using Babble a nice way to keep in touch whilst taxing the brain
Why can't you have mo 4/5 + er?
Good morning all. Is the grid a little less interesting than yesterday's? I don't think I've ever seen so many new words.
good question angb!
hi again!
hi haz!
I have a mo4/5 er... maybe it's not the same one ?
hello Haz
Thank goodness Haz - I was questioning my competency yesterday ... although can't settle into this one at all.
i think angb means one who "shines" their mo4/5 at others
ohhhhhhh
It was a strange one, wasn't it, Angb?
Metal there is an mo that you can - er. But the lunar one ... you can't. No youth in NZ worth their salt has not been a mo 4/5 +er at some point or another
Thanks Fran for translating hehe
last NZer who Mo**ed me also exposed his Re** and tackle
i had to look around for what you were talking about myself! :-)
Bent over too far huh! mouldy
and I had the lunar one already, just never thought to try and "er" it
indeed ang lol
oh mouldy! i hope it wasn't too shocking!
must be a southern hemisphere thing metal
ore so for him i think fran
Must be a downunda thing! Bit like sheep shagging (hopefully NH types will have no idea what I am talking about)
hehe ang
lol mouldy!
lol, maybe so. although I've seen plenty of rednecks up here mo4/5 someone or something...
as for the sheep, they're mostly safe... at least here in the swamps
well i think the act itself must b a male thing
cows on the other hand...
lol metal
en7/32.....any clues please?
sorry, it's not one I have yet Flask
no one had it earlier either flask.
Aaah - mind you I wonder. I clued an sa 5 word tonite sa * something your dog does when he loves you (but drop the end letter) and every one was looking for "hump" LOL
LOL ang
it took me forever to figure that one out
back again
I kept looking for wag...
ok thanks anyway....and Hi Fran...didn't know you were here!
hi andree!
Hi Andree
i finally found the mo7 though
have to try to finish tonight, big day in Aus tomorrow, Melbourne cup
do share please fran
i think you were deep in the grid when i dropped in
mo7 is plural of mo6/21 that sounds like a woman's name
en7 - en plus what takes you away on holidays by air
thx haz
Doh Haz ... thanx
thanks haz! i always miss that one
You're welcome!
have to go and earn a crust good bye all especially lazaro68
Thx for the mo Fran - that's been in a grid before hasn't it.
See ya Iain

spicy peppers mouldy
listless for now, so i have no idea wither Ang
oh thanks andree, will hunt
Andree you are a love!
the first letter is not pronounced as you would expect it to be....
hello
Hi heri
hi lady
how is we
hi herin
you will also get 5 and 6 from same word
we.... is ok other than being a bit peckish
anymore help on the mo7?
hi herin
7's i have - cr singer, en which was clued a lil while ago, mo also clued a minute ago, pl an architect, re to hammer again and sp a tool for bolts
miss o'sullivan flask
thanks andree
mo - Can I have some mo** + printers measure and plural
Flask - think of the actress Miss Lipman. Play around with the beginning of her name, then pluralise it
Finally on the mo7.... all this time I was trying to have the final sequence go vowel / cons./ cons./ cons.
thanks Haz!
waves back ff to find words and not look at chat so i cant see clues yet
then is just "clicked"
*it
You're welcome, Flask.
The top left "O" tile is bugging me - any clues?
unguents Angb
grease
sort of
i dont have it ang, but got the 8 thankyou very much for the clue
Oh no ... how did I not see that thx metals
yvw
last 3 pa's please
Andree am not using list yet (probably stupidly) so no use nor ornament sorry
Have you got the pa of judges? pa 5/12
yay... finally got more than 100 so now I can go to the list
i got the list early so I could finish tonight, not doing me much good, slow going
Good one metal - I am way short
well done Metal!
well done metal
i have one after that plural ang -- p + a*** of green gables
i just started and the ja is killing me.
The last pa5/12 that I have - a soft velvet.
thx angb
I am getting cranky at my fav non advert tv chanel converting to adds
metal-- is that a personal rule, or a generally accepted one, to not go to list till 100+?
jail
sorry!!
just my personal goal for today
Haz - haven';t got that pa - whatever it is
sometimes I go by a set number, sometimes by a percentage of the number of words
p plus the name of the Queen's daughter.
thanks Mrs O
ah ok :)
i go as far as i can before i use the list but i don't have the states panel
other times I hit the list when I hit the first wall
---glad i dont 'have' to live up to it ;)
cheers haz
I try to get to 50% ...
not unless you choose to do so
You're welcome, Angb.
thx haz
ro7...please?
yeah i usually try 50% too
That's the missing one Flask
also, sometimes after getting that "first bunch"... I'll settle in and work letter by letter, or block by block. other times it's randome
looks like that is the one i need too flask
aah....ok!
I have an re7, but not the ro
um is the useless body part sp in here or um i misspelling?
thanks metal :)
it's here
Found it
It's a plural
got it ta
found what???
Think Pres Reagan - and ***l Gwynn
Sorry that is the ro 6 which you plural for the ro 7
i dont know either of those
Or a piece of baroque music (I think) but change the 4th letter.
President Reagan
Thanks, Angb.
Only 53 4 letter words to go LOL
And lots of 5 and 6s before you think I am clever
Thanks Angb
haha i still think your clever ang, i got ALL the words that have 4+ letters to go, except the plurals
You are so sweet! Mrs O
lol
btw, does anyone know if the suggestion to dr god yesterday --to add an 'are you sure' message if you try to only post 1 word in the chat-- was also sent to dr god properly instead of just in the chats?
not there yesturday sorry
I wasn't here then either - but a good idea though
I don't know if it was or not

I'm off for breakfast
bye spellit! yay!
ci4/5 spellit!
hey fran
hi fran
i'm back! hi lady!
hi again andree!
thanks haz! i always miss that ci4!
hello fran how was your weekend
I know - I'm the same.
pretty good infernal, nothing exciting
tryiing to find out who got booted from australian idol, went for coffee and that was all
we went for coffee this evening also, starbucks frappacinos
mm i like starbucks chia but the coffee i find icky
i bought my first christmas presents
well, the frappacino is more like a coffee milkshake, definitely not "real" coffee.
i like the frappacino from the dandgnong market
we always say we're going to shop early and we never do!
hmm, don't think we have one of those here. :-)
the market is a market and there is a lady that makes yummy frapchinos. I ahve decided to spend $20 a fortnight on chrissy gifts per friend thus i don't have to freak out
that's a good idea infernal, not good to freak out over gift-giving
my friend said he wanted figurines which i found online at a discount
besides, it's the thought that counts!
and the wrapping fran
i got the figurine at half price and its what he wants. My other half gets what ever he wants as he is special
that's true andree, i love to wrap gifts.
what a lucky guy!
you can find gifts online if its a specialty thing cheaper. I always use companies that allow pay by money order as i don't own a credit card. Yes he is a special catch
last year i did a lot of ebay shopping, saved a lot of money.
I hate internet shopping
i like ebay its hit and miss, alot of friends have specialty and odd tastes so im always on the look out. My friend couldn't believe in 5min i found him a figure. Its about 15cm high
i hate regular shopping! :-)
i have a company that is online and in person so i trust them
Oh Fran another ebay junkie!
i loath close shoping
so do I fran, but internet shopping is the worst
or let me change that, i hate regular shopping during this time of the year.
and whats with the incesent chrismas carols
i know people that line up at 4:00 am to get into the day after thanksgiving sales...crazy.
me too, my Christmas shopping is done already
aw infernal! i love christmas carols!
awesome andree!
i love crisshy carols but not the incesant shop variety
frances, before i found babble i could be on ebay 10 hours a day!
with that done , I can enjoy the festive season, carols and all
you mean the muzak versions then infernal.
oh dear fran. Yes fran
Fran I have found the most wonderful bargains on ebay. I love it. My best buy was a pair of brand new Farragamo shoes (£250) for £2. Awsome.
No debate about what to buy pe6/24 for Christmas.
nice score fran and ta for clue haz
That should have read Ferragamo....oops
that is awesome frances! i used to buy ferragamo for DFS, i love ferragamo
near my house is a discount store for the 'body shop' which im going to get for my mum
lol, thanks haz! finally found it.
You're welcome!
they look like nice shoes frances.
My Favourite shoes, along with Bruno Magli and a few others. What makes you think I have a thing for shoes? LOL
i traveled to florence twice a year and spent millions of dollars on shoes, it was a dream.
nice dream
frances, what do you think of laboutin? all the young celebs are wearing him.
it was andree! so different from my life now.
I have another idea which involves going to the online store 'rivers' to check the specials then go to the store to see if the item fits then going to the online store to buy the discount price
infernal they are wonderful and as I can't afford £250 per time and like nice shoes, it's the best way to buy.
mine too fran
that is a good way frances! do you do that a lot?
taking a break, back soon
Fran laboutin are fabulous too although they tend to be heels of mountain height and I can no longer wear really high heels.
i got a pair of custom made boots for a dollar as they were second hand. I also got a few new tshirts from the opshop for $4. i have also found yvese saint laurant and amarini for about $4 for the 2 of them
we have a shoe theme day coming up in dec, can't wait to see what you come up with frances!
wow infernal! great scores.
oh i had a look at that site i have droll makes on my keyboard
yep i thought so too.
Fran I bought a new suit this morning for £2. So, yes I do!
watch out infernal! don't short out your keyboard.
i am not a brand snob i liked the shirts they fitted.
you're making me want to go on ebay right now!
Fran I have a pair of blue evening shoes in mind for that.
infernal stop drooling and get buying.
okay folks, since i've only found three new words in the last 5 minutes and it's almost 1 am, i'm going to say good night! it's been great chatting!
oh fredrichs of hollywood have awesome shoes 2
Nite Fran
infernal I thought they were underwear
Time to go. A nicer grid than yesterday!
Bye Haz
nope they do shoes too, nite haz
i had a whole list of discount shoes but i lost my bookmark list
Don't you just hate that when it happens.
wow this grid reminds me of the T grid of last week...only with N's
yes i do. um also victoria secret has shoes
i am over the nnnnnnnns
And O's holy cow
oh yes
yea i just came in to check the stats before I go and do this at work
peace

what do you tutor?
ah the frizzy hair syndrome! Straighteners aare the best invention! I have a couple of students with reading/writing learning problems. I really enjoy it it is the essence of teaching. Do you work/

Hi stid.
Good for you! And nothing too drastic at the dentists I see.
hi Jac.
My last word is eluding me: pe6 (not the one who writes).
Morning...can someone help with the li 4.4? Sometimes it 's the l'il ones that get me. TY.. a fairly new babbler.
Jac, the people who do the writing
I think, Read, you want plural of Italian money unit...
pe6/24 - no debate about what to buy these men for Christmas (writing related also)
Thanks, Haz!:) FIREWORKS.
pe 6, 24 ..instead of women...
Welcome to the madness Read
Congratulations!!!

I live in Hanson, had and still have relatives in Norwood. Love your picture!
sp 7/32?

thanks - Norwood is a nice little town - I worked at Neponset Valley Nursing there and just loved it
It's a tool, as thrown into the works upon occasion, thus upsetting applecarts.

Time for some housework.....
Actually I started to ask you not MI? on your bio? We ahve rerlative in MI Caledonia.

I'm going to drive up there one day - it just seem silly to drive 5 hours to go shopping :)
bye read
saphyre, call or email them and see if they ship food
turkey corn chowder, yuuummmmy
I could - but it's the experience as much as it is the food that I miss - we do drive up to NY when we are in need of a real deli so next time we will have to include a trip to stews :)
can anyone clue the cr 5/12 or 7/32
any clues for ro6/18?
I'm having trouble.
bing crosby or sinatra might be considered cr******s
saph, then it will be a worthwhile trip, a REAL deli and Stew's.....
thank you. :)

I was somehow missing hat n down there in the corner.
Une I love your perfume bottle
yw mamato1

sugar, how many le4/4's are there? I don't have the list out just yet.
Sugar...it is like the late night talk show host le 4/4...
the world outside is calling, see you all later
bye annie
I've got 4 le4/4's. there is le4/4- having little fat, an ogle, late-night host and the thing you see through on a camera. Those are the only four I have.
helo
helo
hello gn
hi rae
smithchick...now one has to do with jumping...
tx smithchick, I missed the ogle!

I'm from BC, you?
what is BC
British Columbia
o0h from philippines

Im from MI
does anyone have clues for the ap's
anike, the ap's are a breathing disorder and plural. use of a CPAP machine is sometimes needed.
I've got two having to do with the condition where you quit breathing in your sleep.
fireworks.....
Yay, Angel!!
What does the 8 start with?
Help please with ro6/18
ja 8 Smith
ja8/70
ja8/70
the 8 is a j. it's a hot pepper.
Ja 8 - Type of Pepper
Thanks smithchick - the 8 starts with j
Thanks...I'll commence searching.
Ihave a adj. of the ap5/12 but I can't seem to make a plural ..
Should have seen that... half my family subsist on those.
it is an adj...not a plural, my mistake, Torgone
torgone add a consonent
k thx
I can't find that ro6/18 either, chiley
ro6: Mr Reagan's first name with a double cons + phonetic spelling of the 11th letter of the alphabet. the 7 is a plural.
Thanks, Angel!
well done angelsong I'd no idea how to clue it
Thanks Angel.....that was a toughie
the 11th letter?
12th letter lain
sorry, I can't count today.
had to use my fingers to count
now it makes more sense
yeah, 12. 11 had me spinning
there's 3 kinds of people; those who can count and those who can't
At least you didn't have to take your shoes off ..
gotta go with 24 to find, bbl
ci5/12 please clue
hello again everyone!
Bye sugar
nose hairs, ursh
ci5/12 is moving little hairlike things
i did tor - only got 10 fingers
Hello Mrs Often
hello Mrs
ursh ci5/12 sounds like being even more ridiculous
ci5: tiny hairs found on paramecium and other bacteria
ooh nice one thanks realite
happy to help
the 2nd je 4/9 and the ji are hiding - any clues?
I've only got two je4/9's...denim name, and insult
ji is a bunch of vowels.
That helped thanks smith
Like an italian goodbye
got it thanks
yw
can I get a clue for the ri5/16 please
you shoot with it, shorty
or go through things
ty
omg
I kep seeing false in here...grr
me too rael
ri5/16 is a long gun
hi anike!
en5/12 please
Hi Mrs often - I've only got 10 to go but I'm going to need clues if I'm going to sleep tonite
gigantic ursh
lol, good luck with those 10! im afraid i probably can't help you 'cause i've got 93 to go...
en5/12 is large cut short
mo7/32 anyone?
are you using lickety's list anike?
ty
mo7/32 - a plural of an Irish sounding girl's name
yes - I can't survive without it.
it's usually easy with lickety's list if you only have 10 to go, because it's so exactly alphabetically listed...
I've got 26 left and I'm about to break out the list.
darn - i thought the en7 would follow
The en7 is on a different flight entirely
Great clue Haz!
nice Haz :)
Thank you, smithchick!
ty ty haz - clever clue
I'm glad it worked for you, ursh.
Very clever . . too clever for me . .
I have one Irish sounding girls name but I can't get to a plural with that
yes, I agree, I got the last three letters figured out though
morning all
i mean afternoon to the brits
Hey hurshy!
anike - the one I'm referring to sounds like rather than is a girl's name. It sounds like Miss O'Hara. Extend the mo4/5 before it.
hey hursh
hi hursh
torgone - en plus a means of smoothing or flying.
It's after midnight in Perth, Aust
then you can use the morning one.
I've got the O'hara name at 6/21 but cant find a plural
Heya hurshburger ..
hey tor :)
anike - just type it, even if you can't see it
anike - just use the usual letter - it works!
There are n letters everywhere....
i must be name-stupid, i really can't find any girls name except mo** lisa
isn't it funny that there are four O's in the grid and only ONE word starts with O??
Mrs Often - it's a sound/look alike name. Use the Oliver Twist plea (mo4/5) use the vowel again and finish with a consonant. Then make it plural.
mo6 = "a heavy fabric of wool, or wool and cotton, with a ribbed face and a moiré finish, used for curtains, petticoats, etc."
yaaaaay thanks haz!!
Am I gonna slap myself when I finally figure out the la6/18?
Well done!
it rhymes with a bunch of other words smith
Never mind, just did.
first 2 letters on the 8? (hoping it is pl of the 7 i don't have...)
ja8/70
Haz, are you using an s for the plural or a or what - I cant get anything accepted
:O
Yes, use the normal plural letter on the end of mo6/21 - the fabric.
ja8/70 a hot pepper
awww, don't i feel silly.
li4/4 please?
li4/4 - plural Italian money (use a different vowel on the end)
dang, so i still need a seven...
thanx Haz
You're welcome, Flask.
Haz, do you have a clue for the ro 6 and I assume the 7 is connected?
ro6 looks like a thing that goes through a mountain
Yes, the ro7 is the plural. Think of the man-made structure that carries trains between England and France. To the ro, add the last four letters of either word.
That's strange - I've put that in before but it wasn't accepted - now it is but it doesn't actually appear in my grid
i mean it ends the same way
Refresh, anike, and see if that cures the problem.
2nd al5/10 anyone?
oooh, thanks shmoo - i have false name
The second al5/10 goes by another name
Thanks so much, one and all.
Seems ok now
ty
Glad to help, Merk.
Only the s words left ... a good feeling.
good afternoon everybody:)
hi - back again - any further clues to ro6 - no idea what the France/England railroad carrier is
Hello jean!
not so much a carrier as a connector
hmm, haz, what is the first al5/10
al5/10 the first, add a small road
ap5/12?
hi jean
could've sworn i tried that before... go fig
ap5/12 sleep problem
thanks haz :)
ty hursh
No problem, hurshy.
I was beginning to think I'd never use the 'ic' at the end of a word.
i've got 2 'ic' words
flosey - trains go through similar structures on land as well. Or think of what the stretch of water is called between England and France.
I give up - 9 to go but i need sleep for work in the morning
Hi can I please have a clue for an I word?
Bye anike
good decision anike- it's a hard one!
g'nite
Goodnight anike, sleep well.
have been on that connector but don't see how it fits the ro word
Take the last four letters, and put them on the end of ro. Another way of cluing the word - President Reagan begins it, the opera singer, Melba finishes the word
i hate c's
ro6 = "A solid, light brown compound, C8H8CI3O3PS, used as an insecticide, especially against flies and cockroaches."
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
oh, i don't hate c's as much as i thought i did
You can talk, with an icon like that!
why is that eww, sounds good to me!
oh boy, am I dense! all these clues and can't fit any
pe6/24?
lol haz!
LI 5 please
no time to change it yet
never mind...found it. Fireworks followed closely by laundry for me.
got it !!
congratas smith!!
Bye all
yay smith!
congratulations smithchick and bye
penom
pe6/24 - males who appreciate writing instruments.
Hooray smith!
aspen
=O
hit tab owl!
haz are you sure that's not the pe6.21?
though im probably stupid, sorry
ci4?
Absolutely. Both have writing connections, the pe6/24 mentions males specifically.
please help, i can't for the life of me find the LI 4 / 4, easy one please
kay, sorry!!
ci4 - The Italian goodbye, li4/4 Italian money (old style) with a plural ending (different vowel to normal)
hi scatty hi all!
It's not a problem, Mrs Often!
ty haz
heeehee it's a good one haz
found it, easy as well, thats why i couldn't see it, hi all
Hi can I please have a clue for an I word?
Which l word do you need, Lara?
I am stuck on the I and the first E
I have not gotten the list
en5?
I am trying to find at least 1 that starts with each tile before I do
The first e - snakelike fish.
the squiggly e 4/4?
got that e
I meant the first e tile
I thought I followed an earlier clue for the ap 6,21 but I must have misunderstood it. Could the clue be repeated?
en5 - on its way to greatness
adj of sleep problem, merk
Merk - the ap6 is the adjectival form of the sleep disorder. It ends as in Mr Gore
Thanks. They had said to add the hook letter and that didn't sound right at the time, but I wrote it down.
Fireworks!
congratulations merk:)
Lara, do you have the el4/4 meaning dash or derring-do? Also means the fl5/16
I remember thinking at the time that it wasn't right! Glad that you've got it sorted out and Congratulations on your fireworks.
I could not have done it without Haz.
no all I have so far is the fishy one
yay merk!
Merk - I think others (like list makers) deserve a lot more credit than me! But thank you.
Well, that one the el4/4 builds off that first e. So far that's all I know. Haven't looked at any lists.
er4/4 - the sea eagle is there again.
thanks I will look for that one
elii
I'm back! anyone have ri4/4 and ri5/20? Huge mental block in progress!!
That was not it..
ri5/20 is the name of a wine.
Nope, it's an anagram of the la4/4 & le4/4, if that helps.
ri4/4 rhymes with a v*** of liquid - assuming you mean 5/10, that's the pl.
rials
Oops. Sorry.
ri5/20 - ends in German for yes
nein is no... *think think*
sorry hurshy, looking for the 2nd ri4/4
oh i know!
sugar - spanish rivers then
bye all bbl when im at work lol :)
bye jean
Bye Jean - have a good evening at work.

As part of the anniversary celebrations of liberation, each part of the island contributed a panel to a tapestry depicting life during the occupation. It's really beautiful and very well done. I think it is now in the Jersey Museum.

thanks haz x
You're welcome!
thanks chj
Good morning, Everyone. Am company free again. We had our nephew, wife and daughter visiting over the weekend. The daughter was dancing in a feis for Western Canada which was a prelim for the nationals and world competitions. peri, she's given up babble in favor of sleep.

peri - haven't seen nrkii in ages -- somebody said she felt she had been staying up too late so went cold turkey
well mrs often, she went on vacation to a place she wouldn't have internet access and when she came back she just didn't play again.
aaah righto. that's a good trick indeed
need the last two sp5.12s... my last ones
Wow- good for her, actually when I was not able to play for two weeks, I was fine but it is still nice to have the option to play when I want to
I'm training myself to be less obsessive and go to bed at a reasonable hour

a + ***p(4 wheel auto that the army uses
that was the aj
A small greengeeny snuck off to the city Strung out on lasers and slash back blazers Ate all your razors while pulling the waiters Talking bout monroe and walking on snow white New yorks a go-go and everything tastes nice Poor little greenie, woh ho Get back home
You got me thinking about that Bowie song, greengeeny
I love it douglas...that was great...tell me that was an original...or yes the bowie song...
I get everybody thinking in one way or another...
I told my husband that I asked yesterday whether or not guy fawkes was a good guy or a bad guy...he said I probably made everyone think that I was dumb...
HA! That makes WAY more sense...thanks Douglas :)
last sa 5/12 and sa 6/21
I didn't know anything about him though...
sa 4/5 before it plus a vowel...then add another vowel
Well, no one in the US is taught anything about Guy Fawkes, although the guy in V is for Vendetta wore a Guy Fawkes mask...
s +pe 4/5
Really? My hubby said that I should go get a canadian history book
ty greengeeny
Also, somebody clued me saying I should know the 15th prime minister of canada...I don't even know the 15th president...I know the 16th...but not the 15th
I need to touch up on my world history a little I guess
green -- your hubby should have told you to get a British history book -- Guy Fawkes has nothing to do with Canada!!!
Speaking of presidents, does anyone know if Franklin Pierce was a good or bad US president?
How funny!! He said that it was canadian history...goes to show him!!!
lol douglas
I have a new website - anybody want to visit?
The reason I ask is because Garrison Keillor wrote that President Bush was competing with Pierce, Buchanan and Harding for worst all-time president
He is such a history buff...proves that he doesn't always know what he is talking about
Really...that is interesting douglas...and he was voted in twice...
1j2u3d4y...is that a picture of you or someone you know?
en help please
me when I was about 4 years old
You were a beautiful child...looks kind of like me when i was little...the picture is really nice
en5...en***ous...really huge
just popped in in time to note the comment about our president being voted in twice: that is debatable as he received the electoral and not the popular vote. Not to mention the Florida and Ohio debacles...
My mom died when I was 9 and I always treasured that picture - my grandfather had it. I thought it showed how well my mother took care of me.
Read Michael Moore's story on what happened in Florida in the last election
OOH pam, I know...I live in ohio, and noone wanted him in office here that I know of...yet there he is
it's a gorgeous photo, 1j2!
greegeeny - there have only been 22 Canadian Prime Ministers and I think Pierre Trudeau is the only one any US people have ever heard of
yep, here he is...
I even like the crooked bangs . hehehe Than you pam
Looks like your mother did a wonderful job!! You look so well put together..and well groomed
Did anyone catch the news last week about the Election Machine that wouldn't let you vote Democrat. Even after several tries, a Demoncratic vote would not register. Why isn't that Front Page news?
yw, 1j2u
jilli...that was the prime minister that I was clued yesterday..
I remember that outfit - it was starched and lovely.
holy cow...and tomorrow is election day
the truth hurts, godthaab
I know, geeny
Does anyone think the Democrats are going to pick up more seats tomorrow?
1j2u3d4y...did your aunt save the dress for you? Do you have any other memories of your mother?
Now I have 6 to go...
What do you need jilli?
No, my father called my mother's 3 sisters and told them to come get what they wanted and the house got stripped of all reminders of my mom.
could use a hint for ap6/21
I think that the democrats will pick up a lot more seats tomorrow, whether they deserve to or not, just because of Bush
I do have an afghan that my mother made - that is a real treasure.
godthaab, lets hope, i'm in tennessee too, so its a big ugly campaign here!
Pierce and Buchanan were the two presidents before the Civil War...Harding's administration was wracked by scandal...
indeed it must be, 1j2u
ap6/21 same as ap5 before it, add a consonent
oh dear -- fish
I am in Virginia and the election has been horrible here. I am so tired of phone calls - about 4 per day. Telling me to vote and who to vote for.
but thanks, katy
Do you think the news about Saddam being hung will give him a last minute boost?
ap + hump letter + second vowel + first vowel + consonant
yvw
Him-being Bush
Thanks for clarifying that, godthaab : )
good nite all-fireworks
1j2u3d, I have an afghan that my grandma made me when I was little and it is the only thing that I have to remind me of her...she passed away two years ago, and it still hurts to think about it...but being wrapped up in her love when I watch tv helps
Hooray for majmom!!!
congrats majmom & goodnight
yay, majmom!
godthaab...no one cares about saddam really, except people who support bush...everyone that I know of was concerned about bin laden due to the twin towers...the saddam thing was a deal between bush and daddy...
It was a horrible time for me. Dad worked and dated and was never home. Raised until I was 13 by a house keeper. Then he remarried when I was 13.
How was your new mom? Nice I hope
He married a woman that had 2 teenage kids - she had been divorced for about 15 years and didn't want to be anybody's mother. No, it was horrible.
Greengeery:True, but isn't it that minority that has a lot of control
hi everyone
Oh, 1j2u--that is just sad. And horrid for you.
But, I have a great husband and 3 marvelous daughters and 7 wonderful grand children - so I can only think that what I loved through made me the person I am today.
can I get a clue for the en7, please?
Hi, Natasha
Oh...how sad...you must have been devestated...never to have a female role model...unless your housekeeper was a wonderful person
indeed it did, but still....
2nd RO4/4 and RI4/4......can anyone give me a clue PLEASE.
houskeeper was old, she kept us clean and fed and that was about it.
down to 2 -- re6/18 and 7/28 *dodging another fish*

en7 = en + 727 or a piper cub or an SST

thanks msree!
ro4/4 and 5/10 - rhymes with what a kettle does
I will visit it 1j...it interests me how women from broken families adjust to become wonderful people, despite their personal difficulties
yw Natasha
re: to hammer again and plural
ri4...same word, just ends in a different consonant...
Yes, I say that the Lord heard all my lonely cries and had it all worked out for me. But it certainly was a lonely time.
Sorry, got that one too. Again the other one I'm needing!
Hi all, did I miss clues for the ro6 and ro7

Just the RO4/4 now!
anyone have the ro6 and ro7?
ro**...rhymes with co4/5

ro4/4 - if you have the one that rhymes with the kettle, it must be the colour one -
hey everyone !
heloo

or hello even
ro 6...ro + double consonants + second vowel + stick letter
plural it
helloooo, herinfernal
yep, it was the colour one TY
hey infern!
I have got to get my little ones to bed...see ya tomorrow...

the list remembers on the same computer, not from the game Tink.
sounds nice. (working on my 4 year old Toshiba satellite...)
Yay! my first fireworks! thanks for all your help!
Whoo hoo Dorrit!
Is there any way to say them or transfer them without re-entering everything?
uh....z....i think you have to be on the same computer when you are entering - but i don;t know...
yes, zTink Lickety uses your computer's own cache to store your list, rather than entering it into a database the way babble does
yayayay dorritt
well my 4 year old dell is giving me fits
chj - i think you are giving your 4 yr old dell fits
Tink, i don't think there is a way, but you can ask Lickety or Mr.P.
yes, the newer programs really want faster, bigger and newer OSes.
4 years old! wow you know how old that is in dog years! LOL
i think babble saves grid words you enter on a separate site...but licketys saves the words on your computer
i give as good as i get ren
ididn;t say nuthing chj
i had a zeos laptop that lasted me 14 years
Ren and Chj, would you tell Nut to post her bio in babbleanon, along with your bios? a triptych will be fun to read.
