you need the brain food for this grid!
ro7/32 = chilli-spiced mayonnaise usually served with fish stews like bouillabaisse.
Really going now! Laundry, mending etc., awaits.:(
bye jacula have a good rest of the day:)
ty, jac.. have fun!
100 words down, 124 to go...heh
oh no did we have the same ro7 a few days ago, I remember the discussion but not the word
don't think so, kthdsn
no, the one from a few days ago was Aioli -- the garlic mayo
dunno, kth.. it is new to me.. haven't found it yet either..
oh ok, nm then lol
the RO7/32 rhymes with what a cow says, but its a french spelling...
hah! evan.. you named my phantom word! (I use it in Scrabble to dump vowels, but didn't know what it was)
Good morning everyone
r + french word for frog gren*****
morning Mom:)
ty evan got it
morning, mom
Good morning Jean1953
Morning Uneaixoise
aloy -- its always one of mine too! thats why i was so friggin excited when it was actually there the other day...haha
sh7?
(-: well, the ro will have to wait.. I'm working earlier in the alphabet now... down to 50
sh7 is a horrible word
sh + vowel + plural letter + what you do with your tongue without the c
wow kth -- thats a new one for me...not a very babble-friendly one...heh
Thanks kthdsn
ty
What do you do with your tongue?
not cluck, matty
Still confused
thanks kth, just got that one. leaning new words every day in here!
what you do to a lolly matty
gwen I'm learning new words and forgetting them all straight away
Oooh - I think it's an Indian or Turkish or summut dish.
hi all, forget the "c" clue; it's what you don't do with your tongue on a cold surface. but spelled wrong
err, anyone got that il 8/40?
it sounds just like the el7
huh. i type it, it goes on the list. magic! thanks
i'm missing an sk5/18...i have shoes with wheels, talent, clothing item, and plural little plays
take the e off the shoes with wheels
oh sorry I wasn't reading properly, I don't have another sk5
sk what bagpipes do
i am new to this what do tile stats mean?
kits
sea, its the number of words you've found per tile and the total number of words per tile
Welcome SeaBowl
hi thank you
What bagpipes do?
hiya, seabowl! also, each tile stat matches one of the tiles in the puzzle -- they go in order
what do the green ones mean?
welcome to babble SeaBowl beware its very addictive this babble lol
ypsi?
(:
how many words there are of each letter length
thanks.
hello!
seabowl, it tells you how many words there are in the puzzle, listsed by # letters in word
sooo rude
omg! that punk on sudoku was sooo rude
the bagpipes clue is the same as the ladies clothing item, but change the last letter
hey thanks, evanadine!
ty evan
ty, evan.. I needed that!
elks
Thank you evanadine
I know I was totally suprised
(looks at the time and has to get to work) bye all, happy babbling!
thanx evanadine didnt see that one:)
they do not talk much I have noticed
bye, BDG.. see ya later
bye Book Doctor have a good day:)
me too... I was shocked, it was not like we were chatting for a year
skirt
Bye Book Doctor Gwen
seabowl, be careful not to type words in the chat box
careful where your cursor is seabowl
Iguess 3 sentences is being way too chatty for them
SeaBowl -- make sure youre not typing your words into the chatlog -- it takes a while to get used to, but youve gotte be careful. :)
The Babble people are WAY more friendly
and another phantom word: situation
I had better scoot, having lunch with my mom, 4 of my Aunts and one cousin. A great time to be had. Everyone enjoy the day.
don't worry about the sudoku people - they are almost always offensive - thank goodness they don't babble
yeah, sudoku is serious, no idle chat... to confuse you :)
I was really shocked about how snippy they got
its because sudoku is numbers, not words....we babblers know how to use words. :)
like 3 words and take it to IM! Really!
most of the fun in babble is the chat, without it I doubt I'd play that often
Dr God wouldnt have put a chatlog on the site if he didnt intend people to chat. so tell them to bugger off.
I am still blown away by the rudeness
well you cant really clue much in sudoku, ok its a number between 1 and 9.... :)
that is so true kthdsn, in my case I get to catch up with family in New Zealand which is a bonus as well as taxing the brain:)
lmao ypsi
Ok that was funny
right on jean!
maybe its just that word nerds are chattier than number nerds?
lmao
I am still laughing
number nerds arent used to social interaction. ;)
note to me dont visit the suduko site lmao
hey - stop giving us nerds a bad name!!! or as my son likes to call me "techno geek"
I finished their puzzle and ran back here
i love playing sudoku, but i dont ever chat on there...it never got as friendly as this site became :)
oh jean you can go there and play, just do not try to chat, or else you will be rudely reprehended
Im afraid ypsigirl that sudoku is beyond me lol I never finish a grid
they are non social chat nazis
I can only do the easies
I quite like sudoku but I don't need another addiction
but surely, without the odd troll throw in now and again, we'd all run out of things to talk about!
I think I have only ever finished 5
precisely the reason that i wish Dr God had liked my idea of an "ignore" button... you could ignore the rude people, and they can ignore you!
I chat at sudoku all the time.... I get rudely reprimended and just don't care ...the problem is theirs
Ok Ypsi I think we need to let it go
I understand that one kthdsn, babble is so addictive that I even play this whilst at work:)
me too jean, I'm at work now lol
Right! I need to get some stuff done around here too, so see ya all later and thanks for the chat, I feel much better.
bye ypsi
lets have a fight: "Ladies n gennelmen, in this corner, the book nerds, the words geeks, the Babble crowd! And in this corner the number crunchers, the mathematics freaks, the Sudoku crowd".
wtg kthdsn Ill be at work later so will possibly be babbling then, bye ypsigirl have a good day:)
LOL Dach... bbl
on that note, am off myself see you all later and have a good day:)
Good morning Fellow nerds/geeks/freaks (Babblers)
Dachef thats so funny
bye jean, hi metal

have a good day jean
morning metaleather and sadly goodbye:)
Help with ik 4,8 please.
dachef I did as well, along with sushi and karate
dachef -- theres an alternate spelling. ;)
kth -- you just HAD to mention sushi, didnt you?!
here is the list of the latest recipes I've posted to BabAnon: Bagna Cauda Baked Kibbe Balzano Apple Cake Banana Jam Bauernfruhstuck Be Pasih Mepanggang Bengali Kasundi (Fiery Chile-Mustard Relish) Benne (Sesame) Seed Wafers Black Tea and Butter Pumpkin Seeds Blackberry Bars Royal Bogeys Hogie Bohemian Pork Roast Borshch malorossijskij (UKRAINIAN BORSHCH) Bourgeois Doodads BROILED APPLES AND PEARS WITH ROSEMARY BROWN BETTY PUDDING Brown Derby Cobb Salad Brown Sugar Crisp Crumbles Brussels Sprouts Lardons Bubble Pizza Bulgarian Tea BUTTER CHICKEN Butter Pecan Turtle Bars Butterscotch Blueberry-Peach Pie
sorry, shouldn't I have?
i *love* sushi... i *crave* sushi...
metal: have you tried all of them?
metal what is bubble pizza
ik 4,8 please
ik4 i + feline
nope, just a couple so far
I've never had sushi, it looks icky
it's made using biscuit dough... and sort of "bubbles up" as the dough cooks
bubble pizza - pizza wih washing up liquid. So called, cos after eating it you produce extra bubbles.
Guten Tag, came back to find a few more words, eed 64 more. Diving in
killian is too a word...i dirnk it whenver i can
or, if you don't cook it enough Dachef... the dough ferments and you get other kinds of bubbles
Thanks kthdsn. I was trying to make the church statute thing and couldn't of course.
Metal - be careful, it doesnt take much for images to form in my head. Yuch! ;)
LOL, I"ll try not to lead you astray then.
I'm back for a few more words before heading off to work
thanks Metal i will look at those , will want to try the Borscht
morning!

Hello Pappa
hi faerie
I'm officially stuck, I have found 2 words in the last half hour, 82 to go somewhere in there
you're much further along than I kt... I've 171 to go yet
tu6?
shmooz... think fabric
tu + "not well" and another letter at the end
ty
ty metal that was one of my missing ones
thanks I also needed that :)
ya6?
oops, wrong clue... it's not fabric, it's armor
Clue please for the second ki 5,18. I have the plural for homocide; it's the other one I need.
still the other part of the clue works
plural of ki4/8, sounds like snogged
Oh duh, I'm into the ki words and have not noticed the snake in the bottom row yet.
lol merk
And I've even had my coffee already. My brain was spent getting the kiddies off this morning. I'm babysitting and not into their routine yet.
no worries, merk... yesterday was like that for me. lol
*shivers at the thought of having to deal with kids early in the morning
you're braver than I am Merk
Maybe I'll wake up now. The dog is sitting here patiently waiting for me to take him for a walk. But if I can't babble correctly, how can I cross a street with him?
metal I have my husband sort my kids out in the morning, got him well trained
Every time I do this, I ask myself why?
luv
anyone have that ya6 yet?
or ou6?
neither shmooz
No, shmoo, I'm just starting the la.
sorry, i'm not that far yet
ya 6 --- to speak: **ter + a small jeweled crown or headpice: t**ra

i got it, Ka
I'm still missing a 7, I have el, ha, na, ri, ro, sh, ta, anyone know what the other one is
sh5/20 anyone?
Please go back to the ya 6 a minute. Can you make the clue simpler for my weak brain of today?
man! who knew so many words started with or contained the letter k? I just thought it was a placeholder in the alphabet. lol
another awful word, sh + what the teacher marks on your work if it was correct
The whole word means ' to talk'?
just the first part of it Merk
first part of clue that is
apparently it means a potato like plant
good morning everyone!
hi reeses
ah, like a comedian's routine!
**ter means to talk. So I have ya + ** + the two vowels.
i use that word a lot, actually...my 14 month old son has one that he performs daily!
lol shmooz I'd never heard it before
i think it's yiddish slang word
I've got it, but have never seen it before in my life.

hi evanadine!
glad to help, metal.. back to the hunt
Reese... I have three ru's... Naomi's daughter in law, more than one daughter in law, and what you get in if you do the same thing the same way over and over again
dont you just hate it when you spend an hour monkey typing random strings of letters because you are convinced the y-words must be really obscure, and then it turns out that they were really simple. Sigh (again).
*rubs eyes* *stumbles into chatlog*
well, what forms when iron is exposed to water?
how about the na 7/32?
also being in a hurry-ru, and oxidation, and a big win
na7/32 - relating to a type of shell.
na7 is like plural exercise machines..(?) lol
Hi all - popping in for before the ravenous hordes return from school! Dachef what a thing to say about dear old swansea! Makes me glad I was a Mumbles girl! LOL!!
It is very similar to the fictional undersea machine in Jules Verne's novel but has a different latin plural ending.
mom did you get the ru clues?
my mom is on also!
Hello snowyowl - busy as ever!
Hi Snowy - quite true tho. Last week there was a young lady having a wee in our shop doorway at 1am. Real classy!
no

Oh, it's the one that someone tried rikshaw three times.
beautiful male horse
al6/30 al plus the Citizen's name in the film
great big number, more than a bill***
what are the first two letters of the male horse?
Phantom word: illiterate
Merk - it's similar to that vehicle - but add a vowel after the first syllable, and take off the w.
st merk
tx Haz, how simple if one knows it!!!
st8 - an uncastrated male horse
That horse is a beauty. Thanks.
I know, inge, but it's not a familiar word at all!
fish for me please, it took me this long to find the blood vessel words
metal -- better hit me harder with it cause i didnt even notice them til you said something!
that's ok, metal... I can't believe how many plurals I missed... must remind myself to look for extensions
just hit the half way mark
me too pappa
I need two more before I will let myself go to the list though... I've decided I need to have one from each grid stat box
on big ones like these, I have to use the list, or else I can;t keep track of where I am, and what i need. I spend more time figuring out what Ihave than looking for new words.
I try to get 3/4 done, an overall goal. I can't see the vowel words .. stumpers for me..
anyone have the ou 8 words?
Yes - ou8/65 for both of them
got em, jaime... add inquire to opp of out for one of them
Both mean to be better at doing something than others.
I usually go until I hit the first solid wall... and hope it's at least half way... this morning I decided to up the ante and shoot for half way and one from each stat box
the U's are kicking me though
jaime-both start with th opp of in-one is what peggy fleming does, the other with a mini or maxi
oops, sorry, that is a 6 not an 8
awesome, thanks eva
yw
tyvm Eva

Gwen -- daleks are a favorite topic in our household. Which doctor do you like best?
i got it pab but... man is it hard to clue
here I am, stid, take a good "look", has anyone seen my twin Inge @???
Stid, like best? They are *all* my hero! (except the 5th was a bit week)
~ weak
just think about the points and what the third letter has to be
Inge 2 I meant
:-) no, haven't seen her in a while, inge.
Tom Baker is the only doctor ..
Eggleston (sp?) was a good one
let's see -- that was colin baker wasn't it? he was mean. Or do you mean Peter Davison?
torgone, that's blasphemy LOL
got it hursh thanks
i agree with tor, loved Tom Baker
Christopher Eccleston was brill - so's David Tennant, the current Doc.
ta6/21 sounds almost like what a graduate wears on a mortarboard. t = a sound of contentment= spanish yes = a consonant.
Tom Baker was the most memorable, for sure! but I think they all had interesting aspectgs... except Colin Baker. He was mean. I don't like mean people *stomps foot emphatically*
matty, aye you're right!
He had the cutest chicks ..
i do believe someone asked for an ri7 clue...
the = signs in the clue should be + signs, though
thanks for that one, Angelsong!
And actually, I think Peter Davison is underrated. I don't much care for the first three (even Pertwee - the acting was VERY wooden)
good heavens, Gwen, I see you are a Michigander. Where is your store???
stid, you can blame the nitwit I mean producer for the 6th doctor. plus he wasn't that mean most of the time
inge, my store is online only, URL is on my profile tho
gwen's a girl, she's a michigoose
OK, thanks
inge, where are you at? I'm in Farmington
I like how the two newest have updated his relationship with companions. Much more interesting to me than the doctor always being "it"
how about a trolline???
I am in NOrthville, close, close
well I'm going to babble, until my mom is ready to leave.
true Gwen! producers and directors sometimes muck things up a bit.
every time i pole my nose in here it's doctor who this, doctor who that. Who has the ya6?
the sixth doctor... was that the one (the actor ) who played Tristan on All Creatures Great and Small?
inge, hi to my fellow metro-Detroiter!
metal, no that was the 5th, Peter Davison
The one who played Tristan was Peter Davison, I think...
exactly metal
ya6 - add vowel and spanish aunt
(gwen hasn't been here when we're discussing star trek.... LOL)
he was good as Tristan, but I didn't care for him as the Doctor
stid, a bit? compare pre-Nathan-Turner to post Nathan-Turner. not a "bit" by any means, but a *lot* LOL
WE have another one in Warren, Bugzy, is a librarian there
no wonder they called it doctor who... there were so many it makes you say "doctor who?"
LOL hurshy -- exactly! :-)
th6/21 anyone please
thanks for that clue, hurshy, got it!

hi babblers
Hello annotherone.
good evening annotherone:)
Thank Ye again. Learning some new words today....
big board today
hello, annotherone
yes, thats it haz. i can now devote the rest of the evening to that woman who hangs around the house. night all
Wah out your mouth, Grim!
Wash (so shocked I can't even spell!!)
night grim
Good night Grim!
at least he didn't say "that woman who hangs around my house"
good point raelite
started this board this morning - now I'm just 'finding' the same words I've already found!!
a lot easier to find that way!
I think that once you've finished the puzzle, you should be allowed to go back and do it again to see how fast you can get all the words down
should get double points for finding the same word twice
You could log in under another name and astonish everyone with your speed, raelite.
now that's an idea..
hmm...yes I guess you could do that...if I was clever...which I'm not
last two li5/10 please
hmm doubt if I could remember half of them
I make so many lucky guesses - most of what I find are lucky guesses in fact
I'd have to be double lucky to find them twice
the first last li 5 is a plural
I keep typing in french words...or spanish...or latin
the next to last li5,10 is the pl of the one above; the next one is li + the coffee drink demi -***
li5/10 - one is a plural of the reminding note, li4/4, the other rhymes with Lennon and McCarney's Meter maid (plural)
the second last 5/10 is one of the senses li + ***te
litas
ack
that's it!!!
YEEEEEEEEES!!
=O
thanks, then I must be missing the 2nd li5/10
li + Princess Di***
Fireworks Mari?
just found the li5 I was missing
tr6/30 after frog sound and second last tr5/10 please help
li -- past tense of slay, sans the last letter
tr6/30 a russian sleigh
now how did you know that Haz
li4/5 just can't see it
The second last tr5/10 is structured in the same way as the last, but has a different vowel at the end
li4/5 - li plus the familiar french 'you'
tr 6,30 russian word for threesome, like in peristr****
I had a sneaking suspicion, mari! Congratulations!!
click on the ? next to your words in the list for definitions
no sorry need more help with the sleigh
thanks Haz
li, the (3rd) 4/4 please?
tr: tr+the sound a pig makes minus the n+vowel (first one)
3rd li4/4 italian currency
foreign coin Lori
A general meaning of the Russian word tr****(Cyrillic alphabet: тройка) is threesome, a collection of three of any kind. The following particular meanings entered into other languages: A three-horse drawn sled Tr**** (dance), a folk dance Tr**** (triumvirate) of judges or political leaders NKVD tr****, a commission of three for express judgment in the Soviet Union during the time of Joseph Stalin

OK 6 / 21. 6 = number of tiles in word. 21 is the tile count BUT - depends on length of word. Refer to "help", Babble anon, and lickety's list. The last two at the bottom under the friends list. Lots of useful tips if you have a look around.
dorens - not ignoring you, i don't have it

hi jacs!
Thanks, Inge, but I have the roaring feline clue. Must be another ta6/18, and I 'm too dense to get the ta4 clue. I'll just keep pecking.
np
You're welcome JW
Hi Frances. Had a lot of early nights recently! Just as well I stayed up tonight, though, as daughter's just come in, having forgotten her house keys.
Hi TO.
ou6/33?
Sixth sense
the other ta 6 means waisteline, like the ta 4 before it, double the stick an add a vowel
Got the ta4! Thanks, Inge
Got the ta4! Thanks, Inge
Frances - something like that, I guess.
ou6/33 - opoosite of 'in' + query.
oh good, I thought perhaps I clued the wrong ta 4
*opposite
Scarlet - do you need any more clues?
inge, you did it for me, finally. There were some unbelievably good clues in this stinker of a grid today. This is the largest one I've ever completed, and just couldn't do it without really good people. Thanks, Jac, I got my fireworks!!!
Well done, Scarlet!
bravo, Scarlet
Thank you, Thank you. *Bows and swoons* wipes blood from forehead!
how about the very first ta word, ta6/21 please?
Actually, this is not a huge grid by Babble standards but it was a stinker, not only due to a tr8/40 't' words, but also due to a not inconsiderable amount of Yiddish words.
I love Yiddish...and learned so much of it in the Village during my hippie days. There was a grid last week that gave me hives. You're all so patient!
I wonder, if Pam ever started the game. Are you in Babblonia, Pam???
Jee - ta6/21 = an Indian district or Indian tax collector.
The grid won
ta + consonant + first 3 letters of another word for window ledge.
t wont let me look up definitions any more. What
's up?
wow... ok, i'm just too dumb for this
evening -- been away for a while 117 more to go!
inge - LOL. I am now hearing that song, I Fought The Law and The Law Won!' but with the word 'grid' in its place.
no, emceleste, none of us got very far the first few times. It grows on yuo, you get experienced, and addicted\
Hi, Jac
I don't know yiddish! lol... is that going to screw me up?
no, we are all learning new words. We clue each other with Yiddish, Spanihs, French words, jsut to keep going
emc - You will know all sorts of words once your Babble addiction takes hold. *Sound of evil cackle in the background.*
fireworks!!!
Hi pam.
Hi pbr.
Well done, Kate!
lol... I can already imagine that!
Jacula, whenever I hit the apostrophe key the chatlog moves to the next box, I am going to skip all apostrophes in the future
emc - Just don't try using many of the words you learn in everyday conversation with 'normal' people!
thanks jacula...I was lost in googleland, looking for that Indian tax guy.
inge - that's weird!
Hi Jacula -- I'm on vacation now until Nov 27th!!!
Hello everyone! Thanks for dressing up for my birthday Jacula!
inge, maybe you have crumbs in your keyboard - apostraophe is next to the enger.
are everyone's scores visible to anyone?
happy birthday, angela!
Angela - you like my Dali Havidson, then?:)))
Happy Birthday!
Thanks TO! And yes - I absolutely LOVE it Jac!
I shook out the crumbs, Angb, and the dog cam e running to clean up after me...;)
It's a tee-shirt I have, Angela. I believe you can get it on a mug, too.
lol, inge
Ooooo! I'm going to have to do a little shopping I see!
Pam you are still with us! Did you dive into the grid???
My bro-in-law (well, ex), would you believe, WON a Harley in a raffle when he was living in Romania about 10-15 years' ago. He only sold it a couple of years ago when, in his 40's, he finally realised his dream of becoming an English bobby.
It's a bit like putting your hand down the back of the sofa.
I dove, but I like looking at the chat, plus I am watching "House" this is probably why I rarely finish--I multi-talk, LOL
hello everyone!
Angela - Rosie Nieper tee-shirts. Check out the website. I've got lots of great tee-shirts from there. Mind you, you do have to get used to people reading your chest when you are out and about!
What a great story Jac - I'm sure he enjoyed his time on it - especially if it was free! A friend of mine won one in a local rally once too.
hi, reese's
hi Reese's
hi reeses!
Not a problem Jac - it's unavoidable with me - I love printed Ts
emceleste - you can only see other's scores if you go to the rankings page.
do they ship to the US?
One of my favourite tee-shirts is 'Irritable Owl Syndrome'. (An owl in a tree saying, 'BUGGER OFF!')
Angela - I think so.
roflmao jacs! i have that ALLof the time
both actually
I am going to let yu youngsters continue chatting. I am going to watch the news and go to bed. Gute Nacht!
night, Inge
i have a couple that are funny (too me anyway) - ie, White People Are Crazy, My Parents Beat ME and I Turned Out Fine, Nice Rack (BBQ Joint)
nite inge. have a good rest.
looking wearily for the no5/12 - no6/21...
My next two favourites are King Harold at The Battle of Hastings, saying, 'I spy with my little eye...' and a knight on his back with loads of arrow in him that reads, 'Silent Knight' (you then carry on.... holey knight).
night inge - sorry if we were monopolizing :)
good night inge
too funny Jac!
just found those temple. think of map directions.
ty katy. i think i'm getting tired...
what is the theme?
me too, i looked forever before i was able to find it, but i'm only 10 away from fireworks and not stopping now!
no5/12 = opp of south no6/21 is the plural
hi, all-- happy birthday, Angela!
Hey, I didn't find the compass/map direction(s) until about 5 words from finishing. The word's not particulsrly 'twisty' or anything.... it's just not that obvious.
Crone - thanks for the clues
fireworks...
congrats, TO and Happy dAy, angela
yay TO
Thanks Libarebel! Great icon!
WTG Temple Owl!!!
Ty Pam!
what is today's theme?
just 3 to go &, as usual, they're little and probably obvious but here goes - ai5/10, al6/30 & ut5/20. please put me out of my misery!
I have no idea what is going on here...lol, or how this scoring is done.
Reeses - the theme is Harley Davidson - new or old (for my birthday)
ai 5/10, what you walk down to get married.
6/30 = al, plus citizen ****
yw :)
hey lib!
Lil: I was there just a little while ago. you catch on :P well.... i can't say that i'm doing that great... but it's fun anyway!
ut 5/20 = u + what is on the floor or what you use to play scrabble with.
hiya, TO!
what does the question marks next to the words mean?
ty!
click on them lillithe and they will take you to dictionary to give you the meaning of the word
word definitions
Reese's - depends on when 'today' is for you! 15th Nov. was/is Harley Davidsons/Ang's birthday. 16th (as it is now in UK, but I'm not iconning it yet) is 'music symbols (or icons)'. Not sure if that means we should show clefs or put up our fave music people.
thx katy **fireworks** now i can get some work done!
yw Crone.
Well, I hate to Babble and run...but can't keep my eyes open. Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes :)
happy birthday angela - i missed that earlier
WELL DONE, TO! *~*~*~*~*

Thanks Libarebel - that's what mine actually looks like.

Is 'iconning' a word, or did I just invent it??
night everyone! i can hardly keep my eyes open!
your vw. enjoy
Never mind, I expect you all know what I meant by it.
let's call it a babble word jac!
Goodnight!
good invention, jac!
Katydid - Have you sought out the 'Katy' books yet?
Thanks, lib!
Goodnight, Angela.
Goodnight, TO.
haven't had a chance yet, but i have them on my list of things to do before Christmas for my granddaughter.
that's a funny melting hog, jac :D
I really do have to give in to sleep. Nearly 3am and I have to be up at six. See you all later. Hope you enjoyed you birthday Angela.
Katy - Don't think that reading so-called 'kid's' books is just for your granddaughter... you wil love the books too. I promise you that!
oh I know I will, but I thought they would make a good "memory" for the child coming from her grammie kat
Fran! You should have said - I'd have 'told' you to go to bed before now!;)
Lovely idea, Katy.
Thanks Jac. But you know how it is once you start babbling!!!
thanks. i hope she will appreciate it as she grows older . . . just 30 months now.
Erm... I do, Fran. Sweet and sweat-free and Babble-free dreams to you! xx
Nite nite....
>>>>>>>>>>>>gone
Katy - I'm sure she will. I do hope you BOTH enjoy the books.
reading to her is always such a pleasure. She's just starting to really pay attention.
any clues for both ou8's??
Katy, just read your profile properly. Sorry that your Dad didn't always feel in a pleasant mood.((HUGS))
o dang it, angela left without seeing my icon!! arrrggghhh!
the both begin with "not in", then they both have a sk5 as the ending.
sunny - ou (not 'in') + glide over ice. ou(not 'in') + woman's lower garment.
thanks jac,he's been gone nigh on 35 years now so it is better. but the hugs alwaqys helps
thanks Katy and Jacula.
yw sunny.
I don't get the lower garment one!
reese, the bottom part of a dress

nope, that's worn under the dress. i'm talking about the part below the waist.
reese more like a mini***** :)
asit
ooppps
oooooooo i get it! ty
Katy - I'm so sorry that he's had such a long-lasting effect on you. My Dad has had same on me, but for the opposite reason... he was a great Dad. 23rd November will be the 3rd year of his 'passing', if you don't count the 4 or 5 before that when Alzheimer's (senile dementia) 'got' him. I still think of him eveery day at one point or another, still miss him, and still wonder, 'WHY?' But, you somehow comes to terms with all things, in the end...
pam - okay. Wasn't a grid word. LOL.
hugs, katy....
Anyway, if anyone here wants to know why I may get a bit 'wobbly' around the end of November.... you know why now.
i would'nt wonder why you still miss him. I would wonder "why not" if you didn't. My mother had a male friend in later years that acted as a surrogate dad to me. He's been gone 11 years and I still go the cemetery to see him. I miss him every day, so I know how you feel. Thanks Pam.
Katy - I'm glad you found and knew your surrogate Dad. I get so cross with females that declare, 'All men are evil!' Why? Because all men are not!
i agree with you jac!
just found my fav sk5/18. think scottish moors at dusk.......
Your Dad wasn't 'evil' either, just weak and maybe self-obsessed. Hope I haven't spoken out of turn here?
sunny - Ah! The sk5/18 of the bagpipes was one of the old Queen Mum's fave sounds.
thanks again. I agree with you. All men aren't evil any more than all women are evil. It's just that the evil ones get the attention. No, my dad wasn't evil, just addicted to alcohol. Self obsessed: yes, weak: yes. But he was my dad anyway. I don't hate him...I just don't like what he was very much.
gives me goosies every time
Sunny! I love the bagpipes too. Such a wonderful sound!
el 7/28 please
sunny - There was a piper in the High Street playing 'It's A Long Way To Tipperary' and other WW1 songs, when I was out shopping last week.
el7/28 - high excitement or happiness.
this is going to sound very dumb, but, where is the united kingdom?
el 7/28, sort of the same as il 8/40 . . . means extreme happiness.

hi all. could anyone offer assistance with either the ri or ro 7? thanks!
missing li5/10 after money please
jac?
l + land surrounded by water
Hi Abe, ri7, oriental mode of transportation.
Ecuse the way I talk to Helen Keller, folks, please. I call her 'Hell' as you know. She is NOT deaf, and neither does she look like that v. expensive Barbie doll in her icon. Her new neighbour probably thinks of her as 'Hell' though. LOL. Stupid, unthinking man deserved it though!
thanks lbdawger
thx abe
jac, what were you talking about with me and minver?
last ta 4/8?
the ro uses the first three letters of the 5.12 and ends with sick + 2nd vowel
put some one to ta** make them do something.
Reese's - It was something about the way you greeted folks in the grid . (The Minver thing, I meant.)
lol jac, you're right about everything, but i may indeed look a little like the barbie
ooooo i get it, no i haven't but i actually was trying to fill her big shoes!
Hell? You look like the expensive Barbie? When can we meet? When can I sell you on e bay?
Does Minver hav
It's only the bleached blonde hair that's the same, Helen, don't lead people on!
thanks lbdawger- working on it..
Does Minver have large feet then, Reese's?
*giggling uncontrollably*
geez - stid is right, damn!

are you really 12 reese?
hey stidmama
what are those, Jacula... *eyeing items curiously*
hi Stid
how you doing stid!
yes andree
I am very, very tired actually - the elder of the two kids had a hysterical fit this afternoon, and between that and *tah-dah* cleaning out my closet *yippee and fireworks just for that* I am exhausted!
stidmama.... I think jac is implying you may have *whispers (a weak bladder)*
last ta 4/8?
abe, the ro7 is an enable word...go figure!
whoo hoo! pizza's almost done!
I wondered about that sunny -- but the names of things are so different on the other side of the pond... *sigh* still, they would come in handy on these bigger grids, wouldn't they?
stid - you don't fool me! But I'll let you fool 'all of them' - the Babble lot. LOL.
t+request something or *** a question
enable is working overtime today!
woo-hoo indeed, pappa! do I get some?

yummm! what kind smooth?
mmmmm with or without pineapple! :-)
double slice for me!
Clue for Ro7/32 please?????
oh, something that's not all that great... it was on sale, so I picked one up... I don't even know the brand... but it's great when I don't feel like cooking
weirdest pizza...saurkraut and pineapple...gag
unfortunately, I ran out of pineapple this time, but I did put fresh mozerella on it
o darn i just had chicken. * eyeing pappa curiously! LOL
hehe... in russia, I had an odd pizza
I used to (when I could eat wheat and cheese and meat) have pizzas with candian bacon, pineapple, sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, olives and extra cheese...
sounds plenty okay to me, pappa! some of the best pizzas are the easy ones!
ro7/32 = a chilli-spiced sauce often served with fish stew. Provencal (French) recipe.
hiya erda! ro 7/32 = ro + not me + sick + vowel
lbdawger, isn't saurkraut a thing with cabbage??
Ro7/32 anyone, please?
there was a pizzaria in a city called nizhniy novgorod (formerly Gorki) that was a good pizza place, but on their "american" puizza they put corn on it
ty lbdawger
Hiya Helen
saurkraut is pickled cabbage.
I just clued that, Erda.
yw enomis.
I think I got it
on pizza??!
Yes I golt it -- many many thanks!!
LOL -- that may have been because corn came from the Americas... our Georgian friends love corn. I wonder how folks ever survived before we could get food from around the world. I wouldn't know what to do without mangos!
lol yeah... I'm not sure their opinion of MAericans, but they must have thought we eat wierd pizza. lol
Yes, pickled cabbage, full of vitamin C, eaten by German sailors to prevent scurvy as British sailors used limes: hence, Krauts and Limeys.
i said it was the weirdest i'd ever had added with the pineapple.
or how the irish survived pre-potatos?
Saurkraut: get it home, drain it. Heat it up in apple cider vinegar and caraway seeds. Mmmmm.
Ankh -- you are an amazing and astounding and astonishing person!
and that's a great icon, too!
You could have served it with oysters, to make it complete
i like saurkraut with kielbasa, but not on pizza
before the potatoes, they had turnips, pappa!
both tr 6/30?
hmmm... ankh, I think I'd have to pass, I'm not all that crazy about kraut... except on a plump grilled brat... that's great!
(half irish here...)
Just enough vinegar to barely cover the top, don't drown it. Ah, thank you, Stiddy! But the kraut recipe (simmer for about half an hour) is from my buddy Paula from Bayern, in Germany. :)
hi stid
Irish & what, Stiddy? I'm almost half and half Irish German.
hi jill! busy day for you, too?
My Paul makes the most fantastic pizzas. He and my son (and even my ex-huby) swwon over the meat ones, but me, my daughter and his daughter love his Hawaiian ones, ham pineapple on a deep-pan base. My daughter justs picks off the ham before eating it.
hehe... I'm drinking irish beer tonight....
just waiting for a baking potato -- back soon
Pappa! Fix your kraut THIS way and your brat will be so delectable, dachshunds will chase you down the street!
29 to go now
I love ham and pineapple, also... but I LOVE barbeque chicken and pineapple pizza... best I've ever had!
stid -- just emailed you
Dear One eats Hawaiian pizza. I'm a carnivore, myself. Oh, thanks for the compliment on my icon! :)
follow the tr**l of bread crumbs to find the *ing of the hill then plural
tr 6//30: the first is like the tr 5 that people walk on... a tr*** in the old west, happy tr**** was the song Gene Autry sang I think... change the last letter to a 5 pt one
okay Jill, will go chek
the other tr 6/30 is that russian word for carriage again.
ok... brb folks... I've got a pizza pie that needs slicing!
Dawg: kielbasa slices fried up with sliced potatoes for breakfast. Don't tell your cardiologist, but it's heaven on earth.
Bye, Pappa!
Ankh, yup that really sounds good. Later smooth
by pappa
hey you guys@
Can I just ask a question here now for my Other Half? 'Look! I know you lot all love sweetcorn and corn on the cob. But why do you eat it when the body does not digest it???'
wow. dumb buck, jill!
*sniffing air expectantly for pizza smells*
I love corn on the cob, myself!
hi nut!
lucke?
dang -- you're doing the t's, just what I need but can't stick around...bbs
Jac: cuz it's a socially-acceptable way of getting salty butter into your mouth. What, is Other Half French? I hear they are horrified by corn on the cob.
hiya stidder-a-brewsky
because with salt and butter it is delicious jac
Jac, cuz it tastes good. and if chewed it will digest
Oh, hi, Nut!
hey ya ank sweetie
Stid, russian carriage??
hi nut
Ack, Got It!
ty stidmama but I don't get the 1st one
**goes "vrooom vroom" for Nut!*

smoooth operator!
ooooohhhhh yeeeeaaah!
hiya nut, jili, ankh, eno, et al
Enomis: instead of a round vowel, use the first one and drop the last vowel from the one you got...
LOL, thanks for all the answers to my O/H folks. Mind you, I do have to inform you that een if well-chewed, corn in its shell does NOT digest.
*getting confused by own clue*
I know I will need a fish but cannot see 1st ra4/4 please
Tastes good though!
Andree -- looks like a woman'
Going in, I meant.

I've only got one left and I've been over & over the clues for it (na 7.32) and my brain just doesn't get it....can anyone make it the na 7.32 for dummies....please????
na 7: na + ut 5 change last vowel
i have 5 left and need help...

you can do it enomis
or like the exercise machines with a modified plural ending
morning!
Thank you, thank you!!! That did it.
2nd tr 5/18, tr 5/18 after the french three
Okay, Contrary, like the shell but ending sounds "silly"
na7/32 for Dummies: na + the sort of furniture that came out just after WW2 minus its last 2 'text style 'thank you' letters.
tr 5/18: tr + tree that grows acorns
um furniture?? ww2??
then plural for the tr 6/30...
Jac, that's for dummies??? cuz I would neeevvverrr get tit! :)
thx stid and ibd

Me, neither, Hell. that must make us Sisters in Crime in some way?
tr 8/40?
a million million is tr8/40
I once tried, as an ex art student, to do leopardskin nails on myself. What a mess! LOL.
ty, metal I think im brain dead
carlir - tr8 is the nordinate amount of 't' words in today's grid. *sigh*
Now I've got my bifocal specs... maybe I can do the small work? But, NO! I still can't read or sew unless I take my glasses OFF.
*inordinate. Sorry!
yw carlir
hey Jac - I've had leopard skin nails! - gorgeous! was a while ago now - just mainly do black now
Hi lynxx, again. You do them yourself or have them doe for you?
*done
I spoil myself and have nails done regularly
i'm back! jacula - yep, i've seen that clip on tv, what a creepy guy
here's one i like: http://i.euniverse.com/funpages/cms_co ntent/12925/greaserbabies.swf let me know what you think about it :)
Lucky you, lyn. However, as a daily head bottle washer, cook, launderer and gardener, it's not practical for me to do that. I do grow my nails occasiuonally though. O/H's birthday is approaching soon, as is Christmas. LOL.
Sorry, Hell - the clip said it wouldn't load.
Jac - I do all that too but I cheat with my nails - they have acrylic on top - the only way I can ever maintain any length "vanity thy name is woman"
Lynxx - as a true gardener and cook I can't do that! Have the long nails, I mean! All that dirt down them! However, as a much older secretary type, typist person than yourself, I also can't do that.
I'll leave it to Hell or someone older than myself to explain.
jac - i don't think i am older than you, you old bag!
Jac - LOL - I've got ten years on you and type all day - but my best friends now are gardening gloves!
trying to figure out why you couldn't get the clip
However, I can tell you that a close friend of mine once told me that the best nail cleaner was making scone dough! ROFLOL.
Lynxx - I can't work in gloves! How the bloody hell can I feel the earth and what I m doing in gloves?
http://i.euniverse.com/funpages/cms_co ntent/12925/greaserbabies.swf
su 6?
jac - maybe if you re-type it yourself - i don't understand why it wouldn't work for you
Jac - I go for the cheap ones - fabric - they wear out quickly but you can 'feel' and not have to touch slugs ! eeew
