Being the parent of an 8 year old, It is hard work but my proudest moment was when he brought home a paper that said when I grow up I want to be a humanitarian.

my dad has told me he'd rather be dead, that we would all be better off if he were. does that screw me up? yeah. do i deal with it and live my life? yeah.
but it is hard when I see parents of his friends too tired or uncaring to actually sit down and parent their kids.
Hmm, Aloy.....think about the kind of adult that you want your child to be someday, then nurture the seed and create that. Character-development more than anything--respect, resilience, responsibility...you will know more when my book is written

I just did volunteering last night. a dinner and auction for "Caring Foundation for Children" they raise money to help kids with no dental insurance. I then got to go to the concert after. Linda Ronstadt. The only down side was I dressed up really nice for hubby and he didn't say a thing.

all over... from manchester to glasgow to oban, around the ben nevis area, up to inverness, around the north coast to dunnet head, and a detour in dumfries before heading back

they did that to us at school one year, i mean where we were teaching. they put a notice in our box while my husband was away for a week (on a school trip), and i wasn't checking his internal mail. so when i took my garbage to the dumpster, finding it not openable, i left it next to the dumpster, not having read the notice that said what hours the dumpster would be available, and they went into the bags to find out whose it was, brought it BACK to our house and left it outside, where dogs tore it up and got garbage everywhere. now that i call just plain mean.
