you know, i was thinking about that the other day tim. my MIL comes over now and then to do her laundry, and she makes a point to ask me about myself, but i never talk about myself to other people generally, so it's weird, and i worry that i complain too much, or sound negative. weird

Oh -- not into online role play. Ordinary real life role play is enuf 4 me, lol!
lol, I bet!
I love it. Being at home so much, it is great to have several things to fill my time with. GuildWars is real fun and with Ata it is even more so.

I really want talon
This week is sprite's fireworks videos! Thank's Sprite! Some good ones there - and it takes a bit to find good ones.

what is the 'Net' lady?

it is a random thing, saintfranny... so it will take prayers :)
I have access via your babble thing

So who put Babble on the internet anyway?
Duh, lickety!

I agree, Ata, but that does not make him responsible for the babble site, LOL
lol its better
or are they the words you used at the school lol
....playing the Twilight Zone music.....
ah I know. its cos lickety's site is in australia, and the babble site is in america

Night Groovy. No Licktey sites just being a tard or IE7s being stupid
Lickety, please tell me you did not click that red X again!
maybe non-aussie sites have now been banned in Aus

yay kt!!
aussie is not valid :(
well done knight
I doubt it Ata id say someone sneezed near IE7

night night to knight
night knight
No IE 7 was being a tard
Added S! - Lady - just try fireworks.
opps - Firefox
going now, happy babbling all!
LOLLL... occupational hazard!
mr karma is here lol
Opera too. What a silly name for a browser.
hawl fawr MVA
bye MVA!
very silly
well, since it simply means "The Works" it is not even that silly ;)
yes but most people dont know that lol
Wish I had the time to write a new browser - change the world.
But what would I call it?
make the time, lickety. A browser from you would be just perfect, like the expert is. And you will have nothitng to worry about moneywise anymore :D
Lickit
just call it Lickety
ow, even better Ata
hehehe - I actually have something in the works, my partner and I call it IntelliViewer
Take of -er from that name, lickety. Sounds much better.
*take off
ok - good idea
yes, I agree
and keep us informed... if you bring a browser, I will buy it. No questions asked.
problem is - everyname you think of is already used - so you just hope to get popular and fight the law suits
oh, we can help with an original name that will have the right ring, no doubt, lickety. This is just the site for that :D
firewords
My grandcousin is working on a new browser too -- I forget the name
yay dart
YAY dart!!!
woopee!! dart well done
lickety, I have a question about the Expert
want to come on skype or shall I ask here?
go lickety chat ;-)
ask here, sprite -- I wanna hear!
oh, true
all go lickety chat
hey, nothing happening there
I get a blank page there, lickety
try again sprite - might be resources or old fireworks hanging around - fixing those bugs
ok, my question: could you make a small button to switch from Lickety Add Thin Box to the moveable one? Each time I want to move the box, it is so many steps :)
nope, no luck on the chat thought
great Idea sprite
It'd have to be on the top bar I think.
*though
yes, that would be perfect
next to the Lickety Add/Hide L.A. button maybe?
you need to change the colour of the names in the chat ... too hard to read
sounds good to me - I'll do it now. I just fixed some bugs and was hoping to do a new release soon.
Beta V12 coming soon
no problem with the names here. Thanks lickety :D Looking forward to the new release, though this one is working very well too.
and hi and hugs mrP!
in the lickety chat, can't see names
hi (((hugs))) !!
I love v 11
I've got another idea for a feature - can I run it by everyone?
oh, ok, in the lickety chat! You are right about that!
agreed, mrp
please do, lickety
sure, lIcky
I'm thinking of showing a list of words you have entered or tried to enter.
urf, I'm going back to bed for a while. Up at 3 with demanding cat *sigh*!
eeeks Ata... enjoy the nap, it sounds like a very needed one!
the idea is that it will help you see if typed something a few guess's ago
lol ata -- my old girl tends to start yelling at me at about 5 am
omg... nooooo lickety! :D :D :D I am not sure I want to know how many stupid things I tried...
No - you don't do you Sprite?
like just now, I tried aussie, zion, ilLu8, isms...
I think that might be confusing, Lickety! If it ain't broke, don't fix it -- v 11 is perfect IMHO
shameful, isn't it :D
and if you add it, lickety... please could you make it an option, so we don't have to see them? :)
jilibus - I know change is hard - but think where you'd be without lickety add ;-)
Of course - it would be optional
but that's part of the perfection, Lickety!
I am with jilli :D But always open for additions, as long as they make it even better, for someone anyway.
And i am here again thanks lickety till the net worked
Anyways - I don't really have time for all this - got to get back to the family duties. Living with someone who can't drive, cook, clean and working and having 2 kids is quite a challenge.
But we loves the PRes : D
what am I, a room mate??
But I think you all know I love a challenge - But more importantly - mrp!
I bet it is, lickety. You have my everlasting admiration for the way you handle it. You are a truly loving husband and father.
Dear Lickety -- you are a prize and I know Mrp knows that too
and your doing a fantastic job lickety ... keep up the good work and give mrp extra hugs lol
mrP: yes, among many other things :)
that was a good save
Oh no - Now I'm in trouble, just read everything backwards - it sometimes comes out that way.
MR Pres he could have said you were a pet :)
10 out of 10 for Lickety
I agree lore!
and Lickety, yo are a prize to us too, with all you've done and keep trying to do for us
lol, you are not in trouble, lickety... mrP knows very well how you meant it and how wonderful your loving heart is.
ohh - thank you! V11 is coming - but not until mrp is smiling!
cool i just found my very first babblet
hey, we already ove v 11 -- you must be promising v 12 -- ?
V11 is there already...and working so very well that V12 can wait, lickety. *hugs*
love v 11, that was
I promise you all that as soon as I am able, I will entertain him so that he does NOT release V 12... he is just bored
lol mrp!!!
LOLLLLL mrP! Like he has time to be bored, LOL! You have a wicked sense of humour... I so love you.
woohoo, mrp!
I'm finding lots of great words except for the last letter
:D -----> here are my beaver teeth-----> :B
lol mrp!
poor jilli :(
MR PRES
lmao
he he he
your naughty mr pres :p
*yawn*....morning all..ive woken up sleepy today...not good..
Hi Rolin
hello rolin
ohoh rolin... bad night? Or just in need of more sleep?
hi rolin
mmm..my partner got up at 5 to go to newcastle...and ive been dozing since...
sounds nice to me, but I think you'd rather have slept than dozed :)
yeah...im not a napper... but thats ok...a couple of cups of tea and ill be ready for anything..
I needed more than coffee to wake up today
I love your disposition, rolin. You are always positive. *hugs*
oh, where is Fran! I see a Hawaiian word!
and its plural!
greek temple alert
what one is that SPrite?
oh, btw... is it just me or is the 2.00 am hiccup time no longer an issue?
lu4/6 and 5/14
hawaiin...theres no goose
yes sprite -- it seems so!
ta
ty for those lu's, sprite -- no poi tho, lol
What does the greek temple start with please
greek temple, first generation immigrant, needle case, mathemathical bad habit is what I have so far for babblets.
lol, no, alas
oh, and the un4 sloth.
ha..ty sprite..id never seen that word written before
the lu, rolin?
oh dear, don't know the mathematical bad habit or the sloth
I think that is a Hawaiian feest
yes, the lu is a Hawaiian feast
jilli: biblical bad habit + consonant. And un + first 2 letters of what we breathe.
*feast
yes id knew the word...but ever remember seeing it written....i watched annette funiccello films you know..lol
ty sprite, gottem
lol rolin... it is a babblet! Ah well, for me it is. Not for Fran of course, it is a real word for her.
yvw jilli :)
It was real for me when I visited Maui and went to one -- fun
oh, I'd love to do that too, jilli! A real one, not a special tourists' thing.
oops, I am almost monopolising the chat. *zips up a bit*
well, it was a tourist one but fun anyway
we'd have to talk to Fran about one,, jilli ;)
aha, a gathering in Hawaii?
wouldn't that be great!
oh ye$$$$!
Those are dollar signs tho
I am looking at the board for the babblets
46 to go, off to bed for me, be back early morning

Good morning ladies!
only in my head, lady
hi Flask!
morning flask
dang
I trust we are all well?
rankings gives you the babblers herin
night flosey
wouldn't that be wonderful, Flask :)
ok sprite....you have a mi7...why not create a babblet list and have it linked down the bottom of this page?
hi flask
lore: babbleTs, not babbleRs :D
ah but rolin, that would take out the whole fun of babblets!
what is a babblet??
a word, useless in itself, and only known to babblers because enable puts them in often.
fun...?...hmm...fun is defined as being oblivious to obscure comniations of vowels predominently...?...
i worry about you sprite..lol
like the greek temple(s) today, the needle case, the volcano...
okay caught up now lol tks sprite
Angelsong has done something similrar but i cant find it
fun is defined (in this case) as recognising word patterns that are usually not in your vocabulary.
whats the start oifthe greek temple??
na4 x 2 rolin
na, rolin
(oh, and the volcano is NOT in today!)
oooh thats a greek temple??
x2?
LOLLLLL yes rolin
singular and plural, jilli
tried the pl and got the red flag
and fireworks for me
YAY sprite!!!
they only difer in the last letter, jilli.
I have a small list of babblets
and they are both 4 letters long!
ah, my greek is weak, but gottit now
yay jilli!
any other clues needed before I go?
more babblets -- the hairy-nosed dolphin and the Celebes buffalo
the hairy-nosed dolphin being one of my favorites... it is such a light and playful word!
I cant believe the amount of babblets in this dang grid
yeah, I could use about 141 clues, lol
enjoy your day Sprite take care see you soon
the dolphin and the buffalo are not in today, though
lol jilli... any one in particular?
I have the ages one
shocking
ok then, bye all, enjoy your day or night or whatever and... count your blessings :)

jilli i4/5 to have been angry perhaps.
How about i just give you an arm instead

bye Hodag
Just do your pet thing Infernal - why not a different type of pet each day
true good point
Thanks lynxx
dinner was great... many thanks to maddison and leonie
how old is Maddie MRP? I still remember with great pride cooking for the family for a few weeks when my mother was sick - 13 at the time (men didn't cook in those days!)
maddison is 9... she is very good, my son is 8... he is better :)
no male chauvenistic bullshit here :)) if the men want to eat, they better go shopping and cook too.
wow - so young - good for them (not that the way they have been brought up has anything to do with it!)
although I do remember those days lynx.... was there too :D
my son cooks breakfast for maddison and her sleep-over girlfriends... he makes scrambled eggs and toast... the girls fall over themselves LOL!!
I have a son - nearly 30 - & very occassionally he will try that 'thats womens work" thing on - certainly not brought up that way, neither by actions nor words from either Ken or mysef - old habits do seem to take a long time to die. Which is why I probably overreact when I see women being (mis)treated as they were pre 60s
He'll certainly go far!!!
well lynxx, it is weird that! My MIL even tried that shit on me... telling me that as my husband worked, I had to do everything... I told her that raising kids right was doing everything! He can certainly chip in and clean or wash when he has a free moment. I didn't have many free moments to do that crap and feel worthy of a good days work
too true - raising kids is most important bit and everyone needs to chip in. Imagine where you would be now if Lickety and the kids couldn't do 'stuff' - he would have to be hiring a fulltime personal carer and housekeeper just to keep the household going. You can never tell what is going to happen
hello fellow bblers. stuck with just 5 to go. would appreciate any help.
Hi Rose - probably not much use here - only halfway but give us a try
ta lynxxx. in6/21, have to put some thing in.
must admit, they are all raised due to circumstances beyond our control... I was in hospital since they were babies. So yes, they have learned to care for themselves, and others... and co-operate without too much fuss
hi rmcc :)
hey mrp.all well?
all good here thanks :D and you?
going well, even MIL well at the moment...
sigh. fall is indeed nigh. i just put out trash and recycling, and there's Orion, high in the east.

Look at the definition DC - seems to be a WW2 thing
bye Jean
I only have the Viking ra6.21 I'm afraid
i did look at the definition, but i've not come across it in history classes, nor has it been mentioned by any of my grandparents nor great grandparents. Guess it was common enough in its day.
re 6 -- same first three as the previous two, and Hawaiian dance: h***
ra6.21 - walf fast + gran***ted sugar
Hi BabRab

Morning, dc -- meant to tell you, thanks again for the squash-bean-corn idea. It turned out to be one of the best soups I've ever made -- my beloved really liked it.
oh, cool, ch. I gave the recipe to a friend in philly, and she's used at as a base for many things. I'm glad they liked it.
i got the recipe from a cherokee friend of mine.
how are you this fine, chilly morning?
I googled it and found out that it's a very popular combination among South American natives, so it makes sense it would have made it to our native Americans too.
Loving the cooler weather (I'm in Massachusetts), and the leaves are beginning to turn.
leaves here usually turn nearer halloween, though this year has been dry, so they'll turn early. A few last their leaves last month.
brb, the cats insist i feed thm
Your area is spectacular. I attended a conference in Leesburg one time. Oh -- by all means, cats come first!! :D

Sorry -- just got back myself. Central Mass. About 80 miles from Boston
Good Morning all

good morning, peri
Oh, your commute! Mine is 65 minutes on weekdays to go 38 miles... longer when the local colleges are in session (Amherst, Hampshire, UMass, etc)
Good morning Peri!
the 1st si4 is a popular computer game that si*ulates people.
Okay, I'm diving back into the grid now :)
enjoy
thanks dc, got the si4
got the sit6
meant si6
cool, i've not done much with the SIs yet, working on the LUs now.
bbl
hi
ok back for lunch...i didnt understand the lu8 clue..could someone help pls?
roline, if you have the lu6, and an ending to it.
that'sthe ru6 above the 8, rolin, obviously
lu8 = lu4/5 (desire) + ra 4/4 (speed)
any hints for the ur 6 and ur 7?
ooohh speed the noun..gotcha..thx
didnt have the six...never seen it with an 'a' ending
ah, okay, my bad.
see..now...why isnt looking at the wrong person a misst5??
heloo
I was playing the si4 and cooking. I burnt my cake : (

rather quite in this part of the country. if we don't get enough water from the sky this winter - oct-apr is the wet season here, we'll have mandatory water restrictions next year. this year they're voluntary
bah! Aussie isn't a word. :(
perfect...ty...lol
ty, granny, now my As are done
i know kerowyn..its just another example of antipodean discrimination..*sigh*
:o)
aussie is a proper noun, no?
heck, I"m not even from there and I'm offended.
ok..ok..i better get back to work...praps see you all later
ciao, rolin
hi, I'm not pro but I look in on your chats anyway - never knew I was a voyeur. Curious: if I'm sure of a word but it's "not found in the dictionary" here. And it's lovely. Ought I to say something or just ignore it & get on with unpuzzling?
jwr, post it as a phantom, or complain that its not there. More than a few words in my dialect are not in the dictionary.
all of mine are *^%$#@! :-)
HI Granie and Kero and JWR
LOL jean :D
How is my favourite Granny today
Don't have the hang of your language yet, never mind dialect. What's a phantom & how would I post?
;-)
Cakes butt and sides were burnt but that was cut off and im going to cover it with icing
cool, i'm glad it's still usable
hi herin - still kicking the words around! you ok?
just write it in chat jwr and complain that it is not accepted
it's therapeutic
jwr, the game uses the enable dictionary, which has many quirks. just ignore it! a phantom is a word we think we see, or wish was there
everyone will sympathize with you
Good morning, could I get a clue for ou7/32, please
aww crud, lol
ossia
to over grade something marc
i was trying to find a phantom as an example for jwr...thought i found one, typed it in to check, and it's a word! and now i've started the grid, which i wasn't going to do!
Getting there making up lots of dinners tonight. Dishwashers going to be overworked tonight. I made 1.5kilo (3pound) of spaghetti bolognas, stew, curry mince stew and chilli jam.
sorry wrong box
Hi feather
Thanks Marc
so is this a fast one, now that i've already started?
oh and a cake but thats kinda not looking too pretty
sounds lovel, infernal
what's with all the food lady, is the world coming to an end?
o dcseain ty. The word is TATSOI -- wikipedia says its a Chinese vegetable, though I thought it was Japanese (lived there for 7 yrs) - small very dark green leaves that perk up a salad, from San Francisco farmers' markets.
No just the weekly cooking.
tatsoi is yummy, and widely available around here.
wow!
I turn the bolognas into Lasagna, Pasta and Cannelloni the curry mince into a curry with rice and the stew was for tea tonight. I love the sweet chilli jam on turkey burgers
Oh and the cake is from scratch and not out of a packet. There was also chicken meatballs made too
well the aussies can feel better now--russian isn't a word either
so it's not specific to one group
Kerowyn what part of the world you from
US
cool
Hello Babblers!

Tatsoi is ubiquitous then -- even hiding unacknowledged in the grid. ... thanks for your time. Rhetorically (I'm going back to the grind minus the end of the smile), can't see how you all can have so much fun chatting and griddling and get anything else done! Bye.
frantically scurys to my email

mornin haz!
hi, haz.
Hi Hazel!
Annie, i'll post for you. Anything in particular you want to say?
I've just scrolled back to see the news. Just awful for Fran.
what happened?
Good morning, Haz. I haven't seen you in quite awhile... glad that you are here!
franmag's sister was hit by a car and killed.
dc, please tell her how sorry I am and that she is in my thoughts and prayers.. thank you so much
Thanks to all the greeters!
oh my. please express my condolences as well.
Hello Scarlet - yes, it's been a computer problem at this end that kept me away from babble for a while. I was glad to get back online on Monday.
I haven't been on the chat much... gosh, how did you deal with being de-Babbleized, Haz?
annie, it's posted.
It was tough. I resorted to the town library a couple of times just to make contact with the outside world.
dcseain, please add my condolences as well. My thoughts and prayers are with FranMag.
where is the page?
dcseain, thank you very much
http://p198.ezboard.com/fbabblersanony mousfrm9.showMessage?topicID=27.topic
is the page
Was the world as you remembered it? Do you see folks as yellow grids with alphabets on their foreheads, Haz?
Thank you, dcseain!
Not quite, but you have no idea how strange some of the people in the library were.
Haz, I live in Asheville... believe me, we have the lock on strange...
pabtrek, it is posted
I could quite believe that some of them were online ordering wives from the Phillipines.
thanks very much dcseain
So, how about that magnolia tree, Scarlet. Did the wiccans save it?
haz, having a friend who works for the DC Public Library, i can believe most anything about library patrons.
Hi Babblers.. we are celebrating and mourning too.. birthdays.. Happy Happy to you, Scarlet.. and Loss.. so sorry for FranMag and her family.. our grandchild was born on the 18th, 9 lb 10oz and we are celebrating.. good to have friends to help you through the tough times and to celebrate the happy times
congrats Aloy
Now that tops the couple I met (middle 40s) who had both shaven their heads and had IPC codes tattooed on the backs of their necks!
It's your birthday, Scarlet? Happy day to you.
glad to hear that the new grandchild is hearth, aloy
and happy birthday scarlet!
And yet they were allowed out of the asylum....
healthy, not hearth
Thank you Aloy, and congratulations to the newest Grandmama on Babble! Thank you Haz and dc@
9lb 10 oz is a lot of baby! Congratulations.
good news, aloy! c
ty all.. can't wait to see her. Flying out on the 27th
Aloy... you must be walking on air!
well, i've eaten my porridge, so time to sleep. I'll finish the last 18 when i awake this afternoon. Happy Babbling, yall!
Until later, dcseain... and thank you again for posting the site.
sweet dreams to you, dc
bye, dcs
As for the wicca/magnolia fiasco, Haz, the tree still stands and the chants have apparently served to stay its execution!
hasta {poof} :)
yay, cheers for the tree
chants always work
So, the wiccans triumph!
Just sent you a little something in e-mail, Scarlet.
ooo think my isp will let me play babble for a while. yay!
I read that as your lisp. Yeth, you can play.
I am laughing very hard right now... thank you, Haz. I shall check e-mails in a bit... Aloy, I think you personally sent some mojo to the wiccans to incorporate into their gathering of 13... LOL
I'm back with some bday cake for Scarlet ( :
everyone dig in lol
ooh, wuz hopin it would help, Scarlet!
I googled Ashville, magnolia and wiccans. Who knew there could be so much news about it?
gramma.... delightful! Thank you so much. Annie, have you made the coffee?
could use another cuppa
brb
ywvm scarlet, now off to put the baby to nap, happy babbling all
Haz, thank goodness for the immediacy and information on Google... it staggers the imagination, doesn't it? The story, I mean.
Bye, grammaterri... thank you!
If it hadn't been that I knew it was for real, I'd have thought it was too far-fetched to be true.
was out of the room, back now with coffee to have with gramma's beautiful birtday cake *pouring and serving*
Good Morning all, and Happy Birthday Scarlet
HI all
Good morning flosey.
I gave it to you as it was printed in the morning paper that day... yes, unbelievable, but it is life in Asheville. Thank you Annie! Yes, chants always work... LOL
And peri!
hi flosey and peri
Thank you so much flosey.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR SCARLET, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!
Hi, peri... just in time for cake and coffee!
have just read back a bit - can anyone tell me how to send a message to FranMag? guess I've missed DC
and many more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*Blushing* Well, thank you, friend... I am honored by two renditions this morning.
http://p198.ezboard.com/fbabblersanony mousfrm9.showMessage?topicID=27.topic
That is the link he posted flosey.
can someone leave my name on there when they write something. not sure I should try and tax my very fragile connection that much ...
and HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCARLETTA!
dc posted a message for me as I could not do it
ok, so I just put that in at the top, as an address, and send my message? I'm not really very computer literate
would someone please be kind enough to add my name too to the board for FranMag
Scarletta, how operatic
oh flosey, join the club with me
Thank you so much, Atalante!! I am now re-named and glowing pinkishly!!! Scarletta is very classic..
It just makes you picture her in Spanish costume, red lips and tambourines a-shaking. Or should it be castanets?
Anyway, mad stamping as well.
if there's someone else who feels more comfortable doing it, I'd sure appreciate it, I'll be afraid it might not reach her??
Haz, you peeked at my morning outfit...
Not the tiara today?
I put it back in the vault, Haz...
Silly me,that will be evening...
Of course... you've been away too long...
I know. Goodness knows what else I've missed.
how many words today all?
Perhaps ignorance is true bliss...
Hi, Go. 203!
thanks scarlet, and hi to you to!
:-)
Ignorance is bliss, but imagination can fill some gaps.
io6 please
io6 - use the charged particle
british spelling of a word that builds off of a charged physical particle peri
thanks Haz
You're welcome.
Ohmigosh... there's a grid... thank you for reminding me, peri... your birthday song is still ringing in my ears! LOL
ahh, my nephews unusual middle name is on the grid today!
an unusual middle name? how intriguing!
Not Tundra, surely.
Hahhaah...
lol haz
his middle name is UN4/5 -- make it plural for the UN5/12
Nor Sundra. That would be too feminine.
Zunio?
how very unusual!
Nice!
Life is tugging me away.. seems we had a grow house on our road.. police vans are there.. hubby and I are going over to rubberneck..
Oh, no, Aloy...
You're just being neighbourly.
Marijuana horticulturists are rife in these mountains, too.
yup.. generators running all night are a bit of a clue
yes, very unusual -- both nephews have an English first name, Basque middle name and French last name... theyre highly multi-cultural. :)
Gee...
Zut alors, Evan!
thats very cool
Would a ransim be demanded by kidnappers with spelling difficuties?
not really sure how my parents ended up with a french last name, both being completely english, but they picked the english + basque names to pay honor to their heritage...my parents are english + my sis-in-laws parents are basque...
bbl with a report.. going to get my binos now
Awaiting with bated breath, Aloy...
makes me curious what theyre planning on naming #3 (due in january) -- this one is supposed to be a girl. :D
Aloy - make sure you get interviewed for the local newspaper. 'Shocked neighbours said.....'
"They were such quiet people..."
fireworks
'NOthing like this happens around here'
great way to start the day, fireworks and birthday cake!
Hi all....and happy happy Scarlet
Congratulations peri!
congrats Peri
Wow, peri. Congratulations! Well, thank you, chiley. I was thinking of you this morning as beloved handed me a two-pound box of
of Chocolate Fetish goodies... ooooooh
WOW....your day can't get any better than that
see you all later, Scarlet have a wonderful birthday!
howdy folks
Only another Ashevillian would know the abandoned joy of having that in her hands...
Are fetish goodies especially for celebrations?
Thank you so very much, peri... have a great day yourself!
Hello Takuma.
Haz... it isn't as weird as it sounds... it's a, no THE chocolatier of the USA... and the taste is unequalled by any Belgian or French manufacturer...
how's the puzzle today? looks like a fun one so far
You have NO idea how relieved I am to hear that, Scarlet.
LOL... Haz... you crack me up!
Hello Takuma - I'm late getting started but it's fun so far.
oops - should have been more sensitive. Didn't realize a chocolate conversation was going on. I'll ask about the grid later ;)
Hi, Takuma... how are you?
LOL... it's a birthday chocolate conversation!
I'm doing well, thanks. Much busier now that school's started
Scarlet, do you prefer milk, dark or white chocolate?
its a wise, wise man who understands the power of even a conversation about chocolate...
it's been seriously cutting into my babble time.
There's an Edward Monkton interesting thoughts card about chocolate.... must see if I can find it.
Heh, Eva. that reflects my priorities, too. I'm beyond even considering chocolate a vice
It depends on my mood... dark when I feel particularly wicked, milk when I need sweet, and white when I must indulge the sugar plum fairy...
I was allergic to chocolate as a kid, so I think I've been making up for lost time, since
Chocolate holds the same mysterious and spiritual power over me as baseball and football!
oh my Takuma, I' so glad you were able to overcome the allergy!!
How fortunate that you outgrew the nasties, TS!
chocolate is just another element of life, like fire and water and air and earth
Perfect, Atalante! LOL
any clues for st6/21 please?
It was odd, I could eat white chocolate, but nothing at all dark (including milk choc)
Thank you for the birthday balloons, flosey! I have exactly seven words... must dive in now!
white chocolate isn't really chocolate is it?
No.
heh, ata -- some ancients thought there was another element, something like soul or spirit, or the stuff of heaven. sounds like chocolate, eh?
Isn't it, TS?
no, flo. I think the fact that I had a chocolate allergy, yet could eat white "chocolate" demonstrates this ;)
definitely!
and now they're telling us that dark chocolate is actually good for you!
I love scientists...
did you ever doubt it, flosey?
oh, not for a minute TS
There is a fantastic chocolate factory here...Hoffman's. It is heavenly
Is it close to the perfection of Chocolate Fetish, chiley?
I'm just happy that dark chocolate has gotten more popular in the States -- it's much easier to find than it was, say, 10 years ago
She's off again.
hello
just give me Green and Black's
There is a company in Pennsylvania called Gertrude Hawks and its chocolate/peanut butter confections are addictive!
with you on that, ata
Can you get Green and Black's chocolate in the States?
when I was younger, dark chocolate would trigger a migraine
or the endangered species bars
white chocolate is just made with the cocoa butter part...
Good morning, har.
*harp*
It's something else, isn't it, Atalante. You don't even need loads of it. It's for savouring.
when they make chocolate, they separate the fat and the solids, then mix them back together
yikes flosey. I didn't have anything that bad. I think it just thinned my blood too much
you can get G&B over there, just not everywhere. thats my experience
green and black available here in Canada
when i was little, i lived in allentown, pa, and there was a chocolatier called Josh Early Candy...
they had a full sized grand piano made of chocolate
heh, ben -- I wasn't *really* suggesting that white chocolate isn't really chocolate. I was just being chauvinistic in favor of dark chocolate
Scarlet, have a look at my icon. You may need glasses (because the writing is small, not because you're ancient) but I think you'll identify...
Yes Scarlet.....I'm not sure which would win
which makes an impression on an 8 year old
That's exactly what I shall do with this two-pound box of decadence... I even cut the candies in half to just nibble slowly and meditate on the goodness of the universe...
can't really get any good chocolate *everywhere* here -- but most places that carry good chocolate here now carry G&B
And was tuning the piano difficult? You could imagine, just eat too much and boy would the pitch suffer.
no, though, white chocolate isn't really chocolate. you are right. they separate out the cocoa bits from the fat....they don't use the part that's chocolately
chocolatey even
what's white chocolate made out of anyway?
i don't think it really is chocolate
like that word ben, have you had your chocolately
haha flosey
cocoa butter, jane
isn't isis supposed to be a word?
or the fat from the beans
white chocolate is a confection made of cocoa butter, milk solids, and sugar...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_cho colate
Thank you so much, Haz... that fragment shall now become my mantra...
And I am only on the cusp of being ancient...LOL
man, i don't understand how they kept a chocolate piano...it seems so very impossible to my mind now....
We discussed being on the cusp the other day. Not comfortable, we decided.
apologies if my comments show up at odd times, this wifi network is spotty and it's throwing everything off
or, perhaps I should say, odder times than usual
i mean, chocolate has a tendency to change over time if left sitting too long. it develops a "bloom"...
Edward Monkton has very insightful comments to make on all sorts of things. He even understands about handbags.
So is mine, Takuma... I am sorry I missed that discussion, Haz.
Yes, Fmitch and I reckoned that being on the cusp couldn't be good.
Hi, benda... bloom is tolerable. I freeze chocolates sometimes, and it is inevitable...
hello all
Hi, stid!
Hello stidmama.
morning Stid
how's the grid today?
ugh, I hate when I think I've about exhausted a tile, then I look and realize I've only got 7 of 26 words form it
yeah, but imagine an entire chocolate piano covered in it
fun, so far, stid, my complaint notwithstanding
but isnt being on the cusp distinctly better than being way pastthe cusp?
*nods head, agreeing with Takuma*
Errch, benda... not so appetizing..
I'm not too happy at the moment, just found out on teletext that Jose has left Chelsea.....
It depends on how pointy the cusp is.
I suppose you have all heard about Fran's sister dying this morning?
good morning stid - grid's not bad but I've reached frustration trying to fill in the odd bits
oops -- 'from' not 'form'
Yes.
thanks flosey... cute icon
thanks stid
yes Stid, such terrible news
we have started a tread for condolences on babble anon
it put me right back to when Tom
Tom's next older brother was killed. I signed the thread before I logged in here.
Oh my, I'm so sorry - what happened?
she was hit by a car CadFan, and didn't survive. Fran flew home to Guam immediately
Oh how awful. I recall when my son was hit - it's terrible.
yes, things like that are usually so preventable. It's really hard.
I was given an address to send message but "not available" or some such, can someone help me, I'd like to send condolances
well, I have one from each tile now.... but still need a lot before I hit halfway
flosey, you can post at babanon -- I don't think Fran will be ready for direct communication for a while.
no, of course, don't want to send direct stid, but I don't know how to use babanon
I can post a message for you flosey -- send me an email@yahoo.com and I can put it there.
just want to add my name to friends who are thinking of her
if you'd just do that stid, I'd appreciate very much
okay flosey, will do that for you then. Are you able to read the babanon posts okay?
just send love and prayers
never have stid
brb then...
is the Z used at all today?
random grammarism to cheer the mood - did you know one has "ice cream" but an "ice-cream cone"
flosey, your comment is up at http://tinyurl.com/2pkosr
end of figure skating word, harp
hello harp, aloyisius and atalante!
hi there, stidmama!

LOL I usually spell that skating term with a K in front! *grin*
thanks stid
lol, me too stid
bye guys
time for me to get back to work -- good luck!
later takuma! have a lovely afternoon@
bye, Takuma
bye bye TS
The "i's" are killing me, or shgould I say my i"s are killing me
I know how you feel bubba, and the sun just came in my window, so squinting to see the laptop screen now...
i won't in6.21 your intelligence by giving you an easy clue, bubba
I grayed my R!
oh stid, how nice, we're having rain here
drat. had that one already aloyisius!
Aly, funny, that is one of two that I do have
we'll have rain later flosey, this system is coming in from the north.
aargh, well I'm hunting i's also..
bubba, do you have the tiny atomic particles?
and the process of turning something into those particles?
sorry stid!!
do you have the one about in6.21 tiles of a mosaic?
oh, I don't really mind the rain flosey -- keeps things green. Rather this than months of drought followed by floods.
Sid, looking for them, but don't have them yet
the process word is british spelling...
Sorry, meant Stid
or maybe we could buy life in6.21 ance?
past tense too
I know bubba, my husband's family could have chosen a more common beginning for a name!
ooh. good ones Aloyisius!
found in 6.18, stage of metamorphosis, larval development stage in + venus is a **** in the sky
a
hello wasgij5!
Clue for the la5/10 plz
hi movieman!
Still looking for the tiny atomic particles, must be very small, cause I don't see them
h'mm, there is in 6.18 like I need to in****l a meter on the heater so that it doesn't overheat
Never mind!!!!
is that my favorite coffee drink you're holding
la5/10 - coffee by any other name would taste as good.
strange one Aloyisius
I'm not too happy at the moment, just found out on teletext that Jose has left Chelsea.....
yup, thought so too
rofl... maybe you need a la5 to help you perk up movieman!
ty monkies
is this rugby or soccer we're talking about?
I thought it was Clinton's daughter and her boyfriend :D
MM - the news came out last night. Just a bit of a shock.
Soccer, stidmama, although I prefer to call it football
*grin* found the REAL fish!
I know movieman, but when I say football, most UK people think I mean the U.S. nonsense
Hi, sis and movieman.
Can't Chelsea keep a manager for more than two or three seasons these days?
anyone have a clue for the first in6 please?
fosey, a floor, a gun stock, a tile table....
I mean, he delivers their first league title in 50 years, and to prove it wasn't a fluke, it did it again the following season
They should take a leaf from Manchester United's book.
thanks ch,
in + past tense of to recline
And that still wasn't good enough
thanks aloy
hello, needlecase!
Clue for first in6/21, anyone?
see 9:57 grant...
It's the same here, movieman... always a turnover of management... and keeping the worst ones on... I become a bit frustrated with the upper echelons of sports' management...
just gave it at 9:58
just clued grant, 9:58
we have the same problem with the local baseball team, only it's the players that get traded just as the team starts to pull together!
(bursts into song) Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear Scarlet, Happy Birthday to you! {{ and Birthday hugs too }}
another birthday girl? this is the month, I guess! *pulls on party hat again and joins in song*
I'm beginning to wonder if I should just start supporting Barcelona or Real Madrid instead
Sorry...the 2nd in in6/21
Aw, sis... you were right on key! Thank you and blessings...
Will you be able to get to the home games, MM?
That's the 2nd in6/21...
By the way, ch... what time of the day were you born? (Just digging for more Twilight Zone...LOL)
Beloved and I treated ourselves to a new camera - I'll be right back with a pic :)
Perfect idea!
then I don't have the first in6 grant
3:30 am - brb
There are 4 in all. Two right up front in the in section.
ooh! I got to halfway and didn'tknow it!
well I have all in 6 then, and the first is the one clued as a type of floor, gun stock, tile table or mosaic...
good morning, everyone :)
Right. I was hoping for the second one.
hello nan! all done with golf for today?
oh. take the last L off the word that means to put in the in6/21!
I'm back. Usually HATE to have my photo taken, much less posted, but this one wasn't too bad with the new camera. Just wanted to share.
Good morning, nan.
the second in 6/21 is the unkind remark I don't allow my children to give each other
Hair is actually more red than here -- and used to be a LOT more red before the gray started dulling it. What color is yours, Scarlet?
ch! you're gorgeous!
Ah gee, (blush) no... believe me, it's the camera. Hides all the wrinkles from turning 52 yesterday :D
you are lovel, ch.. (-:.. and very photogenic!
Beautiful, ch... you are a study in gentility and joy...
lovely, that is.. can't type
Actually, there seems to be one between the mosaic and the unkind remark.
I think, if a person discriminated against people with big proboscises it would be "nosism"
Ch...you won't believe this... I am a redhead!
wow. I would never believe 52...
ergo the name Scarlet?
The joyous part is true, thanks to new life with my beloved. So Scarlet ... sis ... what color is your hair?
hence the screenname scarlet?
LOL!! More twilight zone!
That was my daughter's idea, stid... but, yes!
I don't believe this cosmic twinhood, ch.... LOL
very funny...
Now I'm diving back into the grid ... but I need to go change my icon back (too shy) brb
happy birthday scarlet *!*
no golf today -- it's pouring!
And Happy Birthday and Blessings to you, Scarlett!
oh, you're getting flosey's weather already... we're going to have that later!
I had to check on the birth-times... I was "debuted" at 5:55 a.m.
Clue for na6/18, anyone
Thank you so much, sis... that is a very sweet sentiment.
Happy Birthday Scarlet. I just turned 42 on Tuesday.
Thank you nan... how nice to be remembered. And, thank you, too, deb... You're 42, ch1212 turned 52 and I am 62... nice balance, LOL
okay, kid is out of the house to catch the bus, I am going to check on laundry and wash my hair. see you-all later!
happy birthday to all the birthday people this week --September seems to be a popular month --- now if I could just figure out how to turn 42 again!
na6/18 - na plus an anagram of the type of track that trains run on.
bye stid
Or, n plus an operatic solo wrapped up with a consonant.
later, stid
Bye stid.
tyvm, Haz.. needed that na
You're welcome, Aloy.
Thanks, Haz. Do you also have a clue for the 2nd in6/18?
The second in6/18 (and the fourth in6) is in plus what shines in the sky
second in6 is to put in
oh poo my mistake on that clue sorry
in 6.18 -- add streisand, a **** is born
i need to learn how to reand and count LOL
i love that word. it also means one half of a diatom frustule
Good morning, BR-r, and thank you for yesterday's essay.
how many in's are there?
it is also a stage in larval development
hello
Too many, cybernan.
howdy, BR!
Hello BR!
There are four in a row, right at the beginning and we're getting nicely confused with them.
12 in's
12 in
does anyone have a count? -- I have 11 and wonder if that's them all?
ty brabble
and grant
So the second in6/21 is unusually elusive?
like car in*****
I have that as my 5th one, grant
in = heart and ****
in6/21 - add what is missing from body and spirit.
And which sounds like a fishy underpart of a shoe
ty haz -- the very one I was missing!

I'll just open my eyes every time Shaun Pollock is mentioned
I'll have to plead ignorance here. Is he decorative, Atalante?
Thank you to the ladies who posted that recipe for the truffle cake... I'm about to attempt it now... it is a chocolate-themed day, after all! Will return later for my last 93 words. Thank you for the clues and the laughter...

See you later, Aloy.

All the e words have been in before. There's an anagram of that es6 as well.
age is drying up my brain cells, haz -- the memory gets shorter every day!
however, just missing 2 e's from the bottom right now
From the bottom right?
yes -- have the es 6 and the eo 4
There are two more eo words. The eo6 is the anagram and is plural for eo5
ty haz -- had forgotten those :)
You're welcome.
going for coffee before hunting for the last 59
Enjoy your coffee.
I don't get the plural for the eo 4?
It's not for the eo4, it's for the eo5/10
And its fireworks for me!
Congratulations Nono.
i don;t see the eo 5/10 either
eo5/10 - eo plus biblical wrongdoing
oh..thank you I should have gotten that maybe I need abreak or something... thanks Haz
Thank you for the eo!
You're welcome!
afternoon babblers!
Hello there EvaNadine!
Afternoon everyone, friend told me about Babble and thought I'd come check it out
seems quiet in here this afternoon -- is this grid beating people into complete silence?
Welcome!
Hello, everyone. Weekly shopping and is all put away (take note, Haz!) so I thought I'd reward myself and my weary feet with a cuppa and a bit of a Babble.
It was quiet but im here now!! Afternoon all and welcome to babbleland Infinite
Shopping is done, I meant. *sigh*
Hello Jacula. You're a credit to womanhood.
I knew what you meant Jac
Ooh, do we have a new victim to addict? Welcome Infinite.
Hello infinite. Welcome to babble - hope you enjoythe game.
run... infinite while you can still get away...lol
Uniquity gets the commission, she/he said hello first.
this is a highly addicting game
Thanks Haz
lol rururocks
addictive
Some of us haven't eaten in three weeks.
LOLLLLLLLL
Woo commission...any cash involved? :)
Maybe we should let Posh Spice in on the secret.
But you have chocolate, Haz. I can see it!
I'm on the Babble diet and I have lost 6- lbs
LOL
LOL, go haz!
It's virtual chocolate.
LOL ruru
i just did a huge shopping trip last night since we FINALLY have a WORKING FRIDGE!!
is she now pudgy Spice?
Good news Eva
A new fridge or a mended one, Eva?
moved in just over a month ago, and the fridge died about the same time...finally working things out with the landlord + getting everything taken care of. :)
The problem is, what you lose in not eating, you gain in gravity forcing fat down to the rear end. It's known in medical term as Babble Posterior Syndrome.
LOL
brand new! most basic possible option, mind you, but it keeps food cold -- thats all i care about!
No, she could never be pudgy Spice, rururocks, but she is always on the look out for new methods of losing weight. Sit her down to this and she'll forget about food altogether.
LOL Haz I think i have been playing for too many years
Just avoid looking in shop mirrors. Such a shock to the system.
Go up and down stairs on your bottom - soon gets it in trim. Don't try this in public, though.:)
you can call me ru Haz...
Can she spell though? I always got an impression that she was vapid...
Or on escalaters!!
Caitlyn - ouch! Definitely not.
Did I ever tell you about a friend's elderly mother who objected to using the stairs in the old people's home? She was caught crawling up the stairs with her zimmer on her back, tortoise-like.
Haz - No. Oh heck!
Poor thing she probably felt safer that way
It shows a certain determination, don't you think?
I do indeed, Haz.
or a fear of heights
Did she live in a bungalow before?
lol
She was a rock-climber, perhaps.
guess you wouldn't have the vacuum the stairs much after that
Infinite are you still there ? We do play the game as well !!LOL
I mean, it must be awful for people who have been active for years to suddenly be reduced in mobility. Why not try to make an adventure for as long as you can?
I agree Haz
Quite right, Haz!
I'm still here caitlyn, got lost in words then for a second
Just don't tell the health and safety people.
Infinite - we're not completely insane... well, not all of us. *grins*
And you have gone pro..congrats!!
Speak for yourself Jac!
Thanks! I definetly think it's worth it, I can see me becoming addicted easily lol
Is there an eo6?
Lost in the words... gone pro already... Gosh! Never known anyone get addicted quite that fast before.
Yes, the plural of eo5/10, ru.
nice people here and a lot of fun
Yes ruru a plural
help with the in 7,32 please
Who's your friend, infinite?
don't have it yet bubba sorry
in7/32 - one who is of retiring disposition
I'm not sure what her name is here, but I kow her as Tndaisy on Twitter

I remember TNdaisy, though not sure if I've seen her around lately. Is she British?
Oh yes, we know Tndaisy.
it doesnt take long to get me hooked Jacula lol! I've loved word games since I was a kid. Can't add up but words I'm ok with ;)
hi all!
I Love your icon Infinite
Ditto - Infinite.
You're our kind of babbler. You even correct typos.
She's american Haz
Hello TO!
Ho TO!!
Hi, TO.
That might explain why I haven't seen her - different time zones means that you sometimes don't see people at the same time you're playing.
Thanks Caitlyn, first thing I could find to put up :)
Thanks for the in--Haz
That will explain why it's telling me it's 11:19am
You're welcome bubba.
Yes, babble time is based on one of the American time zones.
well what do we think of this grid?
lol I knew my ears were burning! *waves to Infinite*
TO - lots of normal words, lots of babblets and a few surprises along the way.
Hello, daisy.
Not as friendly as yesterday TO
Hi Jac et al!
Hi daisy
Hello daisy - you've done a good job of selling babble.

et 4 needle case
in7/32 - the opposite of outward looking in thinking
Thanks TO, altho I have no idea what that is. I'll play with it.
Good for you, daisy. I've tended to keep it my little secret... the family knows about the addiction but others think I'm normal.
I don't sew.
NOR DO I
french, babblet: et **, brute?

He's still at work, Haz.
I couldn't help it, Jacula, he knows I don't mean it.
Cait - slurp. Yes, thanks.
Happy news, ru, there are two mi8 words.

Unlike Atalante I can eat "and" watch cricket
Enjoy supper, ursh.
'Bye, ursh.
The in6/21 that gave trouble before is in plus what sounds like a fishy underpart of a shoe, but is spelt diferently.
in + 'put your heart & **** into it'.
thank you very much
that is a stupidhead word. i protest.
You're tired, TO, save your energy.
*Hands TO a banner and some paint*
think I am going to climb somestairs to recover
or sllide down them lol
Can someone answer a question..when you answer the phone and its the wrong number why does the caller always make it feel like its my fault? This question comes to you from an ex telephonist!!
Don't forget the zimmer frame on the back for ballast, ru.
cait - it's one of the world's unexplained phenomena.
it was so rude of you to answer their wrong dialing didn't you know?
LOL ruru
cait - sometimes they ask if you're sure when you tell 'em it's the wrong number.
The truth is, caitlyn, they always suspect that you're lying to them
come on ... Dave is really there....
Thats so true Jac and Sam
does the mi8 come from the mi7 before it?
gentlemen ST*** your engines
bubb - no, but you're on the right lines.

am to tired to bother lol probably horrifying everyone under a certain age here
GOOD TO MEET YOU :o) have you watched torchwood yet ?
so am i addressing julie or gary?
Garys a trekkie but I'm more your average Doctor Who fan
Julie, gary doesn't play unless I drag him over by the ear and demand he finds my lost word
grrrr -- howcome every time someine in this room finds out i'm a DW fan, they ask me that? I mean, No, can't get the show where I am
oh sorry. I only ask because it seems I am the last in this house to find out its an anagram of doctor who
I'd never realised that!
it's obviously a DW spin off but they collided in the last of the DW series.
torchwood is not a nice place, from the point of view of someone who has only seen it on DW. Which makes me wonder, what kind of an evil spin-off place could it be?
perhaps it is a torchwood in a parallel universe where they don't see the Doctor as an enemy?
torchwood the series is a good place, nothing like the torchwood you see in DW. It was reformed by captain jack after the cybermen/dalek war
in7/32 please
oh, that makes a lot of sense. thanks for that tidbit. I do intend to try it out when the chance comes along

the point of name that proper noun is that i pick out proper nouns that don't count, so there is no flagrant saying of words but we get the nouns out of our systems.

i was waiting for the dog to bite it
you are challenging me nut
YAY flask!!!! sweet dreams
well, down to 54, and need a break. back later to finish (if I can keep my eyes open)
I was challenged knight...I was determined to win
moo are you heading over?
anyone need any clues before i head out?
si 7 please
you would recognize it better with an IN in the beginning greenbay
green - it means winding or twisting.
transgression + vowel + consumed
in 7/28, please?
in+ Georgia, or Delaware, or one of the other 50
put into place, as a person into an office
in7/28 - if it had 're' in front of it it would mean perhaps to re-employ or give position back to.
ty Jac, hurshy lid and anyone else I didn't thank
any others?
FIREWORKS!:-)
ok... going of to Tangleword and work... have a great day/evening everyone
congrats Jac
'Bye, lideola.

The condolence thread is under 'Meet & Greet' section in Babblers' Anonymous.
I'm nipping off to download the latest Babblecast now, nut. BBS
os6?
good idea-er jac
It's a bone word, hursh. o + most of Sadam's surname.
*Saddam
oh... weird... i thought i put that in already
hursh - I do that all the time! Frustrating, isn't it?
yes
Sometimes, I think one grid runs into another over a few days in my mind; though I may have added the word in say Monday's grid and am well aware it's there in, say, Wednesday's grid... I haven't put it in that day.
i think that might be it, indeed
knight, you have a reply
41% downloaded so far, nut.
45%
lol jac
52%
Anyone need any clues while I'm waiting?
*Hums to self*
i have only 22 words jac
the first mi 7/32 would be nice
its not worth it yet
*Wonders why self is humming The Star Spangled Banner... oh, yea... Hendrix*:D
hi all
Hi, tragic.
mi7/32 - mi7 Impossible.
thanks Jacula
Hi, all
...or 'on a mi7' (determined)
Hi, pam.
y/w, bichon.
Hey, Jac
hey knight, you still there? i gots a question about your question.
pam - That should be 'Hey Joe' if we're sticking with my Hendrix theme.:)
one l away from illusion in this grid... a phantom for my fourth word--not a good start, LOL
Ahh, I am in a purple haze, jac, didn't read back on chat--never do when I sign on--so did not realize
All along the watchtower, pam - I saw you coming.
LOLOL
Of course, that was a dylan song Jimi covered...
Yup. But Hendrix did it so much better.
Hmmmmm
i have spent too much time on au6 i could use a hint
I've seen guys play guitar like the instrument was a woman but I've never seen anyone who as as one and as with a lover as Hendrix was with his guitar(s). He make them sing. He made them moan. He made them scream and croon. Just brilliant.
cheeky - It's not 'Aussie'!
can I have help with ou7/36 thanks
Very nicely said about hendrix, jac.
It's like the tree (that sounds more aged) but with a 'u' in it.
Pam - Thank you.
I'm a fan still. (Can you tell?)
yw, jac. And, thanks for the au clue
Nope, Jac. Thought you'd turned your back on him.
ou7/36 = not in + reclined .
or 'not in' + what the hen did to get egg out.
Thanks Jacula have been monkeying around that one
Did you, Pam? Gosh! Go and get new glasses. LOL
y/w, speed.
i didnt understand that au clue.
I'm fully downloaded now, nut. I didn't even feel it go in. LOL
i got it
LOLOLOLOLOL
cheeky - Good.
LOL jac!
pam - sorry. Hope you hadn't just taken a sip of coffee or anything.
Tee, hee Nur.
*Nut
you have such gutter thoughts
lu 4/10 pls!
Nah, no sips here.
Nut, me darlin', the only gutter thoughts come from your mind as you interpret what I type. *grins*
sure jac...whatever you say, it must be true.
lu4/10 - sounds like 'lo**' (many or auction pieces). Uses high-scoring tile.
ou7/32?
nm, got it
pam must have gutter thoughts, too. Me? I'm whiter than untrodden snow.:))
ty jac!
bichon pulled a peri there.
y/w, djin.
yeah jac...the yellow kind
no gutter thoughts here, either...
Knew you'd say that, nut!
what's a Peri?
are you psych(o)ic jac?
Jacula....I tried
peri is a who. a babbler who will ask for a clue then get it once she asked...
bichon - 'pulling a peri' in Babbleonian terms is doing what Periwinkle is famous for doing - asking for a clue and then getting the word.
it took jade misinterpreting me in a perveted way to break her down jac.
I seem to do that a lot too. Maybe it's catching
nut - think you missed a 't' out there and I do love my tea.
tee - gee
Nut & Jade - I shall look forward to that when I fire the laptop up in the morning.:D
it's really funny
No, nut... tea not tee. Love tea. Hate golf.
knight was good enough to send us some very useful feedback...how come you don't jac?
bichon - peritonitis, maybe?
lu4/10 -- an Olympic skater's challenge?
Feedback - I do give you feedback, nut. I moan when Jade laughs too much and I can't hear you, I send you hard words to say ... Yes! About that... you didn't try many! I meant you to try all those word twice. First time sober and second after a wee dram or two.
Nut - if you would let me be privy (not on here) to knight's feedback, maybe I could comment?
lol jacs! hey...i thought you were sending more like that
I'd like to send you stuff but I don't want you to feel I'm trying to monopolise just 'cos I paid for it. Anyway, others have now donated, I believe?
jac...how am i gonna make a good cast without the feedum back
Plus, there's a glut of mellow fruitfulness in my garden right now and I've been picking and pickling, bottling, jamming, freezing like a nutter lately. Plums still aren't done with (even after making 24 and a half pounds of jam and giving loads away) and pear are read next month.
*pears are ready, I meant to type.
I wondered about drying fruit until I consulted my preserving bibles... 'keep on a low temperature in the oven with oven door slightly ajar. Fruits could take up to 3 days to dry.' I don't think so! Am now looking into microwave ways for drying fruit.
can i please have a hint on is5,10
cheeky - it's an old word for Japanese immigrants. However, think of a magazine, this month's is***. Then put last vowel in vowel list before the 2nd to last vowel and knock the last vowel off.
ou7/36,please?
you can also dry them in the sun, lol
drom - 'not in' + 'reclined' or what the hen did to get the egg out.
hursh - I'm in Worcestershire, England not Florida! LOL
Nice idea though, hursh.
or, use a dehydrator
ty, jacula, i was stuck
From what I have heard, the microwave is more for fruit leathers... but then, I am no canner...
pam - I know what dehydrate means but what's a dehydrator?
y/w, drom.
an appliance.
Come to that, pam, what are fruit leathers??
yeah eddie had a fruit dehydrator on friends
a cantaloupe ended up being used as a foosball
I realise it's an appliance, Pam, but it's not one I've heard of. Should I look it up?
http://www.fruitfromwashington.com/Rec ipes/drying_fruit.htm
hursh - I don't remember that!
I am getting to it, jac, LOL
Fruit leathers are strips of dried fruit
eddie, you know, the crazy guy that moved in with chandler when joey got his own place
with the goldfish
Thanks, pam. Saved the site for later.x
"well that's not even a real fish... that's a goldfish cracker..."
What does one do with strips of dried fruit?
eat em
http://www.homesteadharvest.com/dehydr ators.html
They are healthy snacks, jac...
hursh - Yeah, I remember him, just not the dehydrator. Or the fish. I must watch again. Do you know I haven't even been able to bring myself around to watching the very last episode of Friends yet?
myyyyyyyyy mart is a very very very fine mart
Evening, vocabulary vanquishers. Howzit?
And, though my son loves the series'Joey' I quit with it after the pilot.
the finale was... as rachel said of sophie's choice... only ok
it was too late to make it really good by that point, they screwed things up by not letting rachel and joey be together. they made so much more sense by then than rachel and ross did.
but of course they were planning on doing 'joey' and he couldn't have a rachel entanglement
Hi, Judi. Welcome to the fray. Or affray. LOL
Can't believe you guys are discussing the tao of "Friends".
+-++++++++++++++++++++++++--
Judi - Friends is a classic.
scuse me, marty rubbed on the keyboard
* gag * Seinfeld was a classic. Friends was an anomoly.
bring back sunset beach - loved it, cracked me up every time!
I still pine for the Sopranos.
m*a*s*h
Normally, I hate 'American' TV but I loved Friends, and Frasier, and Scrubs, and 'Happy Days', and 'Taxi', and 'Seinfield', and 'The Waltons', and 'The Partridge Family'. Ooops, did I just mention those last two? As you can see... I loathe American TV programmes.
MASH was just brilliant, have it all on DVD. But I hate American TV progs.
Cheers, Frasier, etc. etc. Those were the good old days.
I watch Frasier re-runs some nights at 10 and 10:30
LOVED picket fences
LOL, Jacula. Normally, I hate American TV too! There are rare exceptions.
at least us tv is cheerful - eastenders would have you on suicidewatch!
Yes, Jac, you loathe American TV and Hendrix
uk tv is terrible - all doom and gloom
Awww. Bummer, granadan. Gone are the days of Benny Hill.
granadan - you're not wrong there! I avoid Eastenders like the plague.
I think Georgie Porgie Bush should watch MASH, but alas, its lessons might be lost on him
However, I lurrrrved tje All Creatures Great and Small series they showed on PBS. Course, I loved the books too.
Oh, I also liked China Beach A LOT
oh that was good, have to agree. but our tv serieses are dire
I've even stopped watching Corrie and Emmerdale now. Oh, and I gave up on Aussie soap Neighbours some years ago. I learned all my strine from Neighbours and Prisoner Cell Block H.
Brideshead on PBS...
even the archers is getting miserable on the radio
Oh, I remember Prisoner Cell Block H. My girlfriend and I were deeply fascinated by that when we were in high school. Used to rush home to watch it.
pam - you're not wrong there. Although the MASH series was funny, as they talked among the dying men and the spurting blood, it was serious at the core.
oh i loved cell block h when i worked nihgts
Gran - I gave up on The Archers about a decade ago.
but you guys make "Mystery" for PBS
that's a good british show
lol, gotta have my radio 4 fix in the car
Cell Block H was just so camp and trashy. Like a train wreck you couldn't wrench your eyes from.
I went to the Cell Block H show at the Alex in Brum, gran, and I dressed accordingly. It was a fun night.
The wobbly sets were all part of the fun with CBH.
philosophical question: do you think it is possible to be emotionally terminal? like your body can be so injured it can't recover.
Wow, Jac. Did you let your armpit hair grow long and get a butch mullet? And roll your fags in your prison issue blouse sleeve?
anyone got a tip for getting my youngun to sleep hes spent the day punching me or himself and Im about worn out today.
No, Judi, I was one of the feminine ones. LOL
lock him in a soundproof rubber room
Gran - hit him over the head with a rubber mallet.
No, don't!
i wish some days bless him
Whiskey, granadan. (for him, not you).
st 6/21?
no
still as a st****
Hurshy - you're sounding like a Brit soap opera. Whyfore the morose philosophical ponderance?
hi there pal
I dont think theres anything we cant come back from hersh, look at some of the dreadful things that happen
thank you granadan
Hursh - interesting question and one I wondered about myself around 12 years' ago. Your body can be so injured it cannot recover, yes. Your mind...and emotions... there's always a chance. I know you're hurting, hursh, but please don't do 'anything sillly' (euphemism for don't kill yourself)... life has a habit of turning around and sometimes it's the smallest thing that can do it.xx
'Tis possible to be depressed. Certainly possible to be emotionally traumatized.
Hursh is hurting right now, judi.
And, it is possible to be so disinterested that the light at the end of the tunnel could be a fire and one would not notice...
lu 5/14 please the first one
i dunno - trivial pursuit says that with medical advances, scientists are predicting that in the future depression will be the number one cause of death. not suicide, but, just, psychosomatic stuff
I picked up on that, Jac. What happened, Hurshy?
how bout the last mi mi7,32, please
about the moon
to have beckoned or tempted
Plural of the first lu4/6, mel.
im on a mi7/32 from god...
But it is possible to move beyond it, hursh.
half tank of gas, full pack of smokes, its dark and i got sunglasses on
oh, nothing that bad judi... just little things... other people have it so much worse
wv, it is not that mi7,32. the last one is the one i cant figure out
ohhh...never mind then...whole Blues Brothers reference just ruined
STOP comparing, hursh. One person
keep smiling hersh. In 100 years will it matter, that what I keep saying
i got it
Ah. Well, I know you've taken more than your fair share of lumps lately, girl. You'll know you're on the mend when you start feeling more mad than sad.
's pain is no more maningful than another's. Each person has their own measuring stick, if you will. And, what hurts one may not hurt another.
*So frustrating that I've only got Windows 200 Professional on this pc and so it cannot be upgraded to Windows XP normal... so I can't download latest version of MSN Messenger... if so, I'd tell Hursh to accept me on there and get her arse in there. Hursh... you need hugs, girl.
mi7/32 is an ill wind
((HUS)) we can do. Quiet kids at 2am I cant
i am not good at being mad. it just doesn't really happen. well, not on my own behalf, anyway.
And, Hursh, you need to forgive yourself. For everything and nothing. Not because I think you need forgivng, I don't. But because you seem to think it.
((huGs)) then even!
can you make him exercise until he wears himself out?
hes autistic, this kid never wears out bless his heart!
hursh - not getting mad was/is my problem, too. It all implodes in the end. You will survive it! If I can, you can.
he sleeps 20 - 40 mins in the hour, its killing me
but by day he runs on duracells
I don't get mad on my own behalf. Not right away, and only in the extremes. Sad, yes. Angry---that comes much, much later usually
Sometimes, you just have to punch a pillow or something, Hursh. It's not healthy to internalize all of your emotions. Physical outlet can be very liberating.
gran - I assume his diet has been thoroughly checked out? No artificial stuff allowed whatsoever.
none at all and he is GFCF too
Judi - I'm an expert pillow puncher. Got the fancy belt as World Champ for that, should think. LOL
P.S. Let go a big old primal scream into that pillow while you're at it.
I cook everything here from scratch so I know hat goesin it
So, gran... a difficult birth maybe? Deprived of oxygen at some point?
I don't know what the answer is to that.
Go out in garden with an axe and let rip on a tree. I keep a lilac for killing, darn thing is unkillable, so it works great. Or strip the wallp[aper, I found smashing the bathroom tiles great once. himself want pleased though!
nope, had him at home, eas as pie. But my Im pretty sure we have some aspergers in the family and that my eldest is also that way. genetic is where I reckon
mi 8/45 please either one
I have a friend with a son like that, gran. He's a teenager now. It's not easy. I don't know what to say. I could give you all sort of platitudes or tell you to try what I saw being done in the clinic where my anorexic daughter was for 3 years. Asperger's may also figure.
to wrongly interpret
ra 7/32 anyone
to run before the gun goes off
nah, dont panic, theres nowt to say. I adore him andhe is a happy soul by day. hes very physically healthy, so we are blessed
mel, mi+ snake + begin
Stripping wallpaper and smashing tiles is most wonderfully therapeutic, gran.
thank you all for being here for me (again), btw.
Hugs Hursh.
thank you Dawg
(((((HURSH)))))))
Hursh - (xxxx)
Gran - I'm here when you need an ear.
ta hun
I share most of your likes on your bio, Gran.
LMAO - I was just laughing at your perfect babble chair. I want one!
Gran - if you join Babblers' Anonymous (see link below left) you can then safely message me and we can exchange details, should you wish to.
that would be smashing!
gran - I want one, too! Still waiting for Other Half to drill chair middle out for potty.
Uhg, Jac. Addiction isn't pretty.
Are you Beds or Herts, Gran, in UK?

granadan@tiscali.co.uk
Drilling the hole in a chair so you can keep Babbling.

os 6/18 please
as you can also tell, the S is sticky on my keyboard :(

ta
Oh well, I just e-mailed him anyway.
my keyboards die very fast - alf likes to p*sin them, I dunno why

A pam filter? Oh, LOL.
I tell most people its here I spill ine, they all think Im an alki... this is my 7th keyboard this year.
It's all Babble to us, gran.
Spamalot is a musical here at the moment - a Monty Python thingey with John Cleese's voice as God.
Oh gawd, Im off to bed. ill see you another time ith a new keyboard hopefully!
All the rage here too, Jac. Would love to see it.
Yes, here, too. I've been called spamalot since my friends heard of camelot...
Hi Arevir: how is the babbling going?
Gran - there's a rubber keyboard you can buy.. it can be washed, twisted, the lot.
evening.... I did see spamalot! most hilarious thing I've seen
Ha. In Desert Storm I, that's what the called the sands where they parked the tanks... Camel Lot.
Hi, dorens
hi pams
hi all!
hi owls
Hi, Dorens. Not seen it yet. Good show though, I take it?
TO
Hi again, TO. (3rd time today?)
TO! You always seem to jump on just when I'm jumping off. Wine is gone and it's time for bed!
hey pam, doren, jacs, mom, gran and JUDI!
well i am not on much in the day time...as jacs said i come on then drift off to wrok
How much wine, judi?
good show jac???/ I was howling! embarassed my date!!
Pfft. Not nearly enough, Jac!
ooh i would love to see it!
I will NOT take TO's cue up for a dirty joke about in and out so often. *purses lips and crosses arms*
i was a monty pythonn lover back in the seventies -- every sunday nite on Public Television.... couldn't wait each week
me, too! : D
so, in the show was David Hyde Pierce, who is hysterically funny, and Hank Azaria who is even funnier, and the woman who played the lady of the lake was a showstopper.
Who doesn't love Monty Python? Screamingly funny.
doren my ex never thought them funny. not a bit.
i should by the album... the songs were so clever (as you would expect)
well, owl, that just goes to show you!!! you're well rid of him
Dorens - was your 'date' younger or older? I'm intrigued at his/her embarrassment.
Yes, always best not to date the clinically dead, TO.
my ex doesn't. and is anyone here old enough to remember firesign theater?
i'm just joking jac.... he wsn't really embarrassed.
nick danger!!!!
porgy tirebiter!
i lived in philly in those days, owl. oh boy, those were funny evenings, listening to firesign theater.. (antelope freeway, three miles)
My 'ex' loved Monty Python, as do I. My new partner (born in 69) doesn't get it.
i saw them late 90's here - still funny. as was seeing all the hippeies...philly has more aging hippies than anywhere on earth!
my kids were born in the 70's and they get it, jac. but then again, you have seen david's sense of humor
jacs you cradle robber! dirty old lady!
that must have been fun owl
I think the late 60's to early 70's born missed out on MP. My kids, born in the 80s both love it.
TO - Lol, you jealous bitch, you.
the assembly was and still is my avorite
don't forget owl, she is younger than us
Oh, hell! I was born in '64. Age has nothing to do with it. It's all about sophistication and an abnormally well-developed funny bone.
: P now ler me finish in peace you vixen
How could anyone not "get" Life of Brian?
Jehovah!!! Jehovah!!!!
GUFFAW! I forgot about Life of Brian. "Go on then. Have another bite. It's only wafer thin."
Okay, To but dn't you be asking ME for clues! LOL
Bawabus,...
i've been babbling too long if i can get the no6/18 so easily
*whispers to doren *she's not THAT much younger
wafer thin is from meaning of life
He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy!
lololol owl
You are all individuals!!!!
that was my favorite line, jac
Temple Owl -- would have argued that with you until last year when five of my acquaintance -- two couples and a solo -- (all participants in Summer of Luv, Berkeley, etc. and still looking it) departed San Francisco for Phiiy. And stayed, feeling at home.
*together* yes lord we are all individuals
Eh - I stand corrected. Still good, though.
Do share the no 6/18, dorens. Or, at least the clue, thanks
LOL philly more hippie-ish than sf!
may i have a clue for the an 6,21?
I'm an ageing hippy. Oh, Lord!
raw...rah rah rah that's the spirit!
no + my son wrote his th**** for his PhD
jwr i don't hink we've met welcome
thanks, dorens
TO - i love your prayer. did you write it?
let out the ponytails and it's warmer in the winter. Also I think they were ready to abandon veggie-ness for East Coast cheese-steaks. It's all appetites, y'know.
Hippies. Puh-leeze. Get a hair cut and sell the VW bus, already.
funny! where did they come from?
an6 is not peeing, if you're medically inclined. If not, an + last vowel in vowel list, + Spanish word for river.
yw pam
]
thank you jacula
hi all
thanks for the welcome. you all sound so incredibly warm. I'm just a few days old and ducking in at odd hours -- work odd jobs ... well, let's face it, I'm just odd. Old. Already addicted.
hi joey! no, it's actually a catholic prayer - both are.
Hey, TimH. Gotta go, all. Chores to do before I sleep.
hey owl, dorens, tim!
ciao, judi
it is beautiful. i never heard anything like that in our churches.
Peace, love, tune in and turn on, etc.
nut... who is in the grid!!
hey tim and NUT! welcome our new babbler, jwr. just don't scarehim/her away
i sure is!
i thought i'd already met jwr
i had to laugh at the hippie stuff. i really agree, having been in PHL for a long time. but guess what? i found a good cheesesteak place in Texas and I am thilled. it is about 40 miles away and we have gone the last 4 weeks
Note to jwr.... be afraid. Be very afraid.
hi jwr...... am i that scary evan
good for you , joey! i'd kill for one right now.
you haven't even seen me:)
and........... he uses real amoroso rolls and lets me buy some to take home!!
adding credence to jwr's appetite theory
pre-met, yes, in the am. Spent the morning at press screenings for film festival, afternoon on a crisis line, supposed to be prepping for tonight's reading group but got enmeshed in The Grid. Gotta run. Back in the middle of the night.
may i have a clue for the in 7,32?
no WAY!!!!!! they really are authentic then!
oh, yes, way. he sells scrapple and tastycakes too. it is like a slice of heaven
nix to the scrapple. do you like the changes to tastykakes?
Sorry for any delay on replies. Son's just been down here asking for ice cream. I've just had to go in there and by-pass one cross cat to get it.
love tastykakes
don't worry evan i need to concentrate on the grid anyhow
oooops, what changes? i know that i love the ones at Easter with the dark chocolate and the coconut
so what are your favorites? mine are krimpets, both butterscotch and strawberry.
Thatt cat really should have been left ot be feral. Daughter should never have dragged him from his hiding place and brought him home.
is he having ahissy fit?
i like the chocolate krimpets
sorry, what am i worrying about?
ok, that's a change. i didn't know about the strawberry krimpets. my fav is the peanut butter tandy takes
Last word. Best Tex-Mex I ever had was in an interior Vermont village. Do you guys always talk virtual food? ... Really gotta go this time. And ty4 the clues -- only 130 but I'm replete.
scaring the newbies away
i'm not scared of no stinking newbie
i htought i saw you shaking in your pirate boots
my mistake
nope, i gave them to ren for her birthday
aw how sweet
What the heck are krimpets? Are they like crumpets? And who is nut on about?
Cat's fine now.
may i have a clue for the in 7,32?
krimpets are little yellowy cakes with butterscotch icing. put out by a company in PHL, PA
s sponge cake. i don't know what a krumpet is.
they are stephanie plums favorites.
is there truly a pirate ninja rivalry?
in7/32 describes someone who is inward thinking.
pirates and ninjas are natural enemies
a crumpet is like an english muffin with more holes
oh yes tim, there truly is, check out raelites profile
so my daughter tellls me
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! LOL
su 5/14 please
then no, they ar sponge cakes not at al like krimpets. they just stole the name
thanks jac, still not getting it
i'm just really stuck on it
that's why my son and daughter don't get along
lol tim!
hey i haven't seen rae
What the supermarkets in UK now call 'crumpets' we always called 'pikelets'.
one is a pirate and one is a ninja and they are both trying to recruit me
They now stock so-called 'pikelets' but they are thin, not thick.
but my daughter tells me i can't join both armies
nm found it
well the crumpets i know i love ...too much
problem with ninjas is that if you see them they have to kill you...its the law
Do you want to go down the sewers with heroes in a half-shell or sail the high seas with Captn Jack Sparrow. tim?
is word clue, please? tyvm
TO, first generation japanese
ah well there are days when my daughter would just as soon as kill you than look at you but i just chalked that up to her being 17ish
Hello, everyone.
hi jellen
ty and hi, dawgie dawg!
and hi jell
Hi, dawg.
ahh yes...mines only 17 months but sometimes she attempts murder
humm jac to tell you the truth i think of myself as more of a wizard
tim - re the daughter. It's hell, isn't it? Did we do that to our mothers? Guess we did.:(
i left home before i was seventeen my mom was lucky
finally found the in 7, my last one thanks for the help jac
but i can remember being seventeen that's why i haven't grounded her for tthe rest of her natural life
WTG angel. How about another clue for that in7, I can't find for anything.
When I told my mum beginning of this week how down I was when my daughter left for uni, she told me she knew... that's why she almost drove me mad with phone calls after I left home to get wed. She's been around much more than usual this week... her way of supporting me in the 'loss' of my daughter. Actually, my daughter's been at home twice this week and on the phone much more than usual. She's settling into Uni and so I don't expect that happy state of communication to last more than 2/3 months.
tim: I hope i still remember when my daughter gets to that age
un 7, please
take it while you can
my baby girl is going to have her own baby in 6 weeks
I remember my teens and 20s (and before that)far better than I remember my 30s and 40s.:((

hmm trying to remember the album for :don't take me alive"? the same one as "caves of altamira"?
Sorry, Jac. Grid and occasional glance at chat is all my brain can handle right now.
the es 6, plz?
eie - You start off worrying about the little buggers, then they become angels, then you worry about them again and, so I am told by older friend and relatives, that state continues until you die.
But I would not have felt my life was fulfilled if I'd not had my children.
Evening All. Any clue for the OS6? Thanks in advance...
es6 is a court alibi.

Homophone: Phonetics. a word pronounced the same as another but differing in meaning, whether spelled the same way or not, as heir and air.

—Synonyms 1, 2, 3. Homonym, homophone, and homograph designate words that are identical to other words in spelling or pronunciation, or both, while differing from them in meaning and usually in origin. Homophones are words that sound alike, whether or not they are spelled differently. The words pear “fruit,†pare “cut off,†and pair “two of a kind†are homophones that are different in spelling; bear “carry; support†and bear “animal†are homophones that are spelled alike. Homographs are words that are spelled identically but may or may not share a pronunciation.
