Infernal - have you been told about sunblock on her nose & ear tips? not sure what they use for cats
I have been aware of that but thanks i will investigate that one. Its hard as kitty's clean them selfs unlike dogs. She doesn't go outside ever so will see
Good - I know its a problem with white cats esp with white noses...we don't want to see her with amputated ears!
Oh goodness no, she doesn't go outside as shes not desexed yet (don't start me on that I'm a bad fur mum) and I am aware of the ears being an issue with white Kitty

hi haz! bye haz! off to walk the spaniel in the sunshine :)
Have a good time, Atalante - sun shining here as well.
its glorious here. down to the beach I think
Don't bring back too much sand.
Hi Haz! Yes I have been away but back now :)
What kept you away from us?
My little Grandson keeps me busy busy!!! I watch him everyday and he keeps me running, plus my cat rescue took up any spare time I had, things have settled down now :)
Well, I'm glad it was for good reasons and not illness etc. Welcome back!
Thank you, great to be back!
Did you find all your word power coming back to you?
slow at first, but getting back up to speed :) Still don't have the time I used to have to babble, but I get to it when I can, or when I can keep my eyes open! :)
speaking of eyes, mine are closing, nite all, happy babbling!!! Great to see you again Haz!
The main thing is that you enjoy it. I was offline for about 10 days recently when the computer was sick and it was tough sometimes, dreaming of all those grids and wondering what was happening with the players. I have a sad life....
I do enjoy it, glad you are back too Haz! Puter problems are the worst! ugh!
You're at the mercy of men who talk to you about gigs and rams and hackers. You try to look intelligent but you know the pitying looks mean that you haven't succeeded in stopping the eyes from glazing over.
LOL, too true Haz!
I'm off, nite nite, see you tomorrow!!!
Sleep well, Cat, and nice to see you again.
Thank you Haz, you too!
please could you type up the stats please
There are 150 words in total. A ten letter, a nine letter, four eight letters.
thankyou so much
You're welcome.
fireworks and bye all :))
Congratulations mrp. Your cat is not a happy one?
hi haz, not today... didn't sleep well at all, so am going to bed now. see you tomorrow :)
Okay - sleep well.
hello everyone
Good morning Liz.
Oh! The cat of glory! I have that on my kitchen wall!
Really? I saw the card one day in town and was struck by its relevance.
My son bought it for me its a bag with a soft toy ginger cat inside it. We say its like my big fat giner cat Toby....he is indeed the cat of glory
Some of the US babblers had never heard of Edward Monkton. He now has a fan club and if he wasn't married, Scrabbler would put herself forward.
I have a fabulous little book by Edward Monkton called The Lady & The Chocolate - brilliant!
I know. He has the ability to understand the workings of a woman's brain.
He's very funny
Handbags that constitute the meaning of life, shoes that speak to you - you know the sort of thing.
oh yes///i found the 10 all by muself..woohoo..morning all..lol
absolutely Haz :)
Good morning rolin!
well done Rolin - and good morning!
but im sitting on the counch...which is way away from the pc...(cos my partner is working at the desk on his laptop..)...so i cant see any posts frpm this sdistance
is the 10 letter related to the 9
Yes, and it seems to be affecting your ability to type....
No, the 10 letter is a descriptive/past tense relating to an eight.
LOL HAz ! Shame on you! Have you never sat on a counch before?
No, counches are banned over here, they're reckoned to be a menace.
I love the tr 9/72 word LOL
they are Haz - they stop you from typing!
Sorry Rolin! Only joking! :)
Do you suppose the tr9/72 is a verb or a description of an aspect of our 'friends' from under the bridge?
I think its descriptive of me on a Friday night some 20 years ago
It's like something the Duke of Edinburgh would say in an unguarded moment. 'Stay under this bridge much longer and you'll go home tr9/72'
Surely the D of E never has such moments?
No, it's all media hype. The man is totally silent at all times, no opinions whatsoever on anything.
Naturally, he is a MAN after all !
No, no, you'll not get me down the road of decrying men. Edward Monkton proves there are good men around.
Ah... how could I forget so soon.... now I dont suppose E.M. has had a sex change has he?
LOL dont hit me Haz
Not at all. Life isn't a soap opera.
But it would be so much fun if it was
It would be torture!
Can you imagine - lost relatives coming at you from every direction?
only if it was lived in Walford!
I prefer to keep most of mine at arms length if the truth be known
Weddings that have to be held at 2 days notice in the local pub.
Snarling and sniping and misunderstandings galore. No, I'll stick with real life. Besides, I've never heard ANYONE in soap land say they babble.
and irritating music being played at all times in the background
yes, why is that? I know the head honcho on Corrie perhaps I should drop a few hints
Did you ever watch the worst soap opera ever? it was so bad and ridiculous that it had a mesmeric quality. Sunset Beach. Identical twins, dreams, fortune tellers. It had everything.
I dont think so but I did see a few bits of that El Dorado programme...
If I'm having trouble getting to sleep at night, I try to remember the twists of the plot lines. It's so complicated my brain surrenders and zzzzzzzzzzz.
LOL I must give that a try
This was El Dorado multiplied by 10. Disfiguring diseases, doctors who had gone to the bad. It was unbelievable.
We used to watch that awful soap that was filmed in Macclesfield in Cheshire and partly in Australia...now what was that called?
Oh and people who were supposed to be dead and who weren't.
The Cheshire bit was mainly set in a riding school
That doesn't ring any bells - the Australian/Cheshire one.
Hm going to bug me now till I remember
Try googling 'ridiculous soap opera Cheshire Australia'
Ah ha! Families! That was it
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Families_ (TV_series)
No, I'm pretty sure I've never seen it.
so bad it was hilarious
There must be a sub-section in the soap opera genre for shows like that.
People get paid to make them! Life's so unfair! There are so many jobs like that in the world and I dont get to do any of them....like the job of the person who invents the names for colours of paint
I'd love to say that my job was 'to contribute to the absurdity of every day life"
...or perhaps not LOL
I thought that was done by committee. Multiple people sitting around trying to be clever. Just give numbers and be done with it!
Ah dont disillusion me! My life's ambition is to name pots of paint LOL
The more flowery and poetical the better...
Keep an eye out for Situations Vacant in the newspaper.
I do I do... scan them every day :-) Just think of owning a house painted in magnolia...oops no sorry I mean Sensuous Soda
Keep taking the tablets, Liz.
Right I have to go do some work... real work not just dreaming up paint names... see you later Haz
*pops a tablet* *waves bye bye* LOL
See you later!
Guten Morgen, Haz, are you holding down the fort all by yourself now? My fingers have hardly recuperated, but i can deal with a normal grid
I'm still here, inge, listening to babblecast. How are you?
My computer savvy son is flying in on Sat for his Monday medical checkup with U of Michigan. He can finally "download" babblecast for me.
So you've been missing out up to now? You're even mentioned in the current one.
I got the first three or four, then they turned to chipmunk voices, and I gave up
It seems to be okay now, accessed through podbean. I had the chipmunk thing going on for a couple.
are any words using the ng ending? I keep trying with no success
I'm here. Nice grid - 19 left to find. I must put my old pc or the laptop on to update myself with Babblecasts. I get a sound disparity on this new pc so one person deafens me and I can hardly hear the other.:(
No, ng not used.
Hello Jacula!
I shall have to abandon that idea then
Well, time I was tackling the ironing. Bye for now.
bye Haz
*Slips own pile under Haz's.*
Tee, hee. Think I got away with that. Don't she she spotted me.;)
*think she spotted me, that is.
You can do mine then, Jacula
inge - I'm busy making Christmas cakes.
... and picking plums.
too early> I start my Stollen baking around Thanksgiving
Rich fruit cake's a bit different to Stollen, inge. It needs 3 months to mature and be 'fed' with alcohol, otherwise it would be dry.
I used to make those fruitcakes. Hubby wrapped them in alcohol soaked clothes. Then my clientele (family) didnt care for fruit cake anymore. And Stollen is currently IN
I also bake stollen. I love it...
Hello everyone in Babble Land.
Hi, Scrabbs.
Hiya, Scrabbler. Wie gehts?
Ich bin mude.

Annoyed missing 12 words and house mate is being a dick
hi all! how many words today pls?
150
thanks montreal
how so herin... or am i being indiscreet ?
Just being a dick not much out of the ordinary. He gets like this on Mondays or Tuesdays depending on his mood
just a regular occurence then ?
Yep pretty much that and my damn cat keeps clawing my new couch
the very same cat appearing in your pictures i presume...
Yes, The same. She likes to claw the corner.
is there only one 10 word today? and one 9?
and chase the 'shiny flashy light'
apparently, they now sell something that cats will sink their claws in with a passion... leaving alone the furniture...
Hi everyone
hi split !
yes swa
yes, swa, and 4 8s
Cats - yes - Cat's are amazing - love how they don't take any attitude from us.
hi lickety
hi
Hi Lickety. Yes its called a scratching post but the little witch want use it when there is a perfectly good couch to claw on
Yeah - sometimes they'll just sink their claws into your leg for attention ;-)
thanks br
oooh im impressed i have 3 8's!
ahhh, cat's independant thinking ! - don't you love it ?
Hi SWA
and Babble
swa - did you play yesterday?
yes... way too many words for my liking! I started late and got halfway through then gave up!
Yeah - it was huge! That'd take you some time to get used to for a beginner.
I clocked 160 words in 1.5 hours with that beast yesturday
i had no time myself yesterday to tackle such a monster grid...
it was record braking - altered some stats on my clues page - Average word count jumped up one - and the last scoring points words - the top two came up
haha indeed. wasnt too keen! speaking of cats... one of mine wont leave me alone! rubbing his head on the computer screen and lying on the keyboard! ga
ha*
Oh lickety i have to tell you something
yes lady?
When i was trying to port words to babble yesturday it didnt work
mmm, does it today?
Nothing has changed for months.
It was a huge grid - might have been a delay?
morning babblers!
hey nanette!
hi nanette !
Hey Nono!
hello Lickety!
hi
Ill give it a shot hang on

Hi Carlee
hi herin
lady - blame the cat ;-)
Hi Carlee!
hi lickety
herin are you putting the little tick mark by the words in the list before you try to transfer?
hi Carlee
hi nono
Good point Nono - I tried the top box and hit the Add word button.
No i blame the Sims
oh shoot me. Nono i think that may be a no
tick the box lady! TICK the box!
yeah lickety i tried it that way and it was ok but then added a couple directly in the list and tried and it wouldnt go until i ticked the box
I can confirm - the tick is important - that's what it is for
it's more for the earlier days when the bulk add didn't exist - so you could just tic off words you had
I know i know
woohoo! fireworks for me!!
Oh Lickety i was sending videos to mr pres but my pc is being stupid
Yah Becca.
Me too for firewords

Hi, Vicuna!

It's called being a Babbleonian, Mom... LOL
I must have missed quite a story here,
Carlee, are you ok?
I'll say, Scarlet
ok..so is this grid a bit...tight with its words..or am I just completely out of practise?
It's an oddball, kat... but you'll get in the swing in no time!
i'm sure you've heard, but yesterdays was a monster with words everywhere, so this one is a gift
oh flosey... life just deals crud once in a while...I seem to be dealing with a lifetime of manure at once... but....from manure..great crops emerge...if they can waade their way through the depths of .... crud....
they become more visible with some time, carlee..hi to you and flosey and Mom.. got my second coffa cuppee and I'm rarin to find some more words..
Hi Aloy
your icon makes me smile, Mom..
ok Carlee just hang in, you're strong and you have lots of love in here
thanks Aloy. It was in honor of Renfields birthday last week.
yup...am currently backstroking through the... muck... it "stinks" but keeps my face out of it
bah! Jello isn't in the dictionary? But there's always room for jello.
keep your dignity and your head up and in years to come you will look back on this much and not have any regrets (except maybe some things that might land you in prison)
LOL, kattie... you have your head on sooooo straight!
oh, and eat chocolate- that makes everything better
That's funny, lideola... good philosophy!

Don't strain your eyes Flosey. :)
I never work too hard Aloy. Don't you work too hard either
news ..news.... what news....am all ears
ooh, just found simon and garfunkels "sounds of si7"
( don't mind the goo dripping from the ears... )
Aloy... see below.
oh, ty Scarlet... carlee, I am a grandma! Sept. 18th, 9 lb 10 0z baby girl, "Mia".. whoopee
nudging aloy... NEWS!!!!!! waiting... can o nly hold me breath so long before I can't stand my own stink
WOOHOO....Big hugs aloy....
oh big baby! poor mommy!
am so happy for you... the world keeps going round..and that is proof... congrads dear
ty.. going to see her day after tomorrow
right, lideola.. mommy deserves an award. 31 hrs of labor..
i think my girls were that size at their 3 month appt... but my girls were a few weeks early
ugh
Yeerrrrchhh...
i had horrible horrible horrible pregnancies, but wonderful labors
congrats Aloy... is this the first grandchild?
I loved being pregnant and the deliveries were textbook...long, but who cared? The little miracles were worth it!
and the blessings of a dear sweet child after all that lideola
yes, lideola.. the first and I hope not the last.. (-:
lol,, wouldn't blame the mommy if she is a bit shy of having another for a while
Sounding exactly like a grandmama already, Aloy! LOL
oh absolutely- but i would rather give birth every month for 9 months than be pregnant for 9 months again
wonderful Aloy- enjoy it!
would you be my mentor if i need any granmama lessons, Scarlet?
Of course, friend...it's easy: spoil the stuffins' out of them for a couple of weeks, and when you are exhausted, go home and leave it to mom and dad!!
ah what lessons? spoil spoil spoil, do all the things the mommy's and daddy's won't let the children do
i love this advice!
:-0
i will give you one bit of advice- serious advice... spoil with love and attention as well as little gifts, etc.
my husbands father is generous with the money... but not with attention and the kids are afraid of him
Always tell them that what they do is good, and if a negative comes into play, stress the action, not the person... and hug until your arms fall off...
my parents are generous with everything, especially the love and hugs and kisses... and my kids enjoy every moment with them
right, lideola.. the kids know what is important, don't they?
how sad lideola, the kids understand love
sure they like to get things, but they do know the difference when love is not involved
he's getting married in a couple of months, and his grandchildren aren't invited to the wedding
i think dogs know who really loves them, too.. and who is just pretending
OH!
and THATS all i'll say about that
ouch!
Children are radar specialists...
that's for sure aloy - and dogs love unconditionally
Isn't that the truth, flosey? Always loyal and forgiving...
yes, they have a unique sense for bullshit artists
sorry for the vulgarity
we get the message lid, and indeed they do
one of my phantoms is celery
guess what.. fireworks, and I am sad to leave this wonderful group, but today is the day off for the valet and laundress and housekeeper and personal assistant and cook, lol... so, sigh.. I must go. Will try to pop in and say hi as we whirl around in the coming weeks.. ttfn, y'all.. (-:
have a great day Aloy - enjoy
congrats and congrats for everything Aloy- have a blast and cover with kisses
btw, can anyone give me a clue for ga5/14 please
big reptile
ga 5/14 is kinda like a crocodile, and then shortened
thanks ben
lideola.. your icon shows as a black square for me.. thought you might want to know that.. ga5's are abundant in florida
or, conversely, ga5/14 are galoshes
'Bye Aloy. Congratulations on your light show!! Have a wonderful day in spite of the "staff" being off! LOL
oh= thanks... i put one in... might need to refresh
okie dokie.. pulls self away.. byeeeeeeeeeeee
:-)
and that's Fireworks for me
congrats flosey!
can anyone clue se6/24?
Wow, a celebration for flosey, too! Well done!
when a state decides to leave the union
thanks lideola!
se6 - to withdraw formally from something - like an alliance
Thank you, flosey! :-)
yw
any more clues needed before I crawl back into bed?
woke from a dreadful nightmare and had to get up and concentrate on something else - thus babble
Have a warm rest, flosey.
ty scarlet
Oh, nightmares... you have to wonder how they form in your brain... I guess it's our steam valve so we don't go mad during the waking hours...
very seldom ever remember a dream but this one was all too real
My beloved has vivid dreams and nightmares, too... mostly about the grandchildren being in danger...
10 years ago I dreamed I was going to be a gramma - when I told my daughter, she said don't look at me mom and I promptly forgot it - a few months later same daughter reminded me of that dream when we learned my son was going to be a daddy - was at time of conception
sc5,16 please
good morning
sc + old piece of cloth
Oh, flosey... I have gooseflesh on my arms... Hi, harp and bubba!
Good morning, everyone
Thanks Flosy
yw bubba
Scarlet, they pinpointed it to a weekend away in Montreal
DONE!!! Thanks for the clue, quick and easy, especially compared to yesterday's grid
WTG bubba - nice to have a day to get something else done after yesterday's puzzle
Wow, flosey... we are "witchy" so many times as parents, arent' we? That is some story, and I believe it! Congratulations, bubba!
There is much more to dreams then we realize, there are so many stories of dreams whichives one a rehearsal of an event, or forewarns or reinforces, etc, etc
Yesterday was so cooperative... the water was out for several hours, so I Babbled without too much guilt... couldn't do the laundry, or other water-related chores... Man plans, God laughs. Always!
Yes, exactly, bubba... and if we have any wisdom at all, we listen to the "warnings" and projections.
very true
indeed scarlet, you were given a nice little rest from it all
:-)
Bye for now
So long, bubba.... make today memorable!
bye now bubba, hopefully see you tomorrow
ok, I'm off - hopefully to catch another hour of sleep
back at flip tonight
See you soon, flosey... enjoy your peace and quiet!
hello again all - back on got fireworks quite quickly once i went to the list - fun grid
good morning all!
Hi, boston... how are you, and how are those Sox doing at the end of this amazing summer!?
hi Scarlet... you know, I live just 2 blocks from Fenway Park and I have no idea!!... I know they're playing a home game tonight
this grid is making me feel stupid...
Ohmigosh, boston... We were at the Arts' museum about two years ago, and I just had to go up to the building and touch it... I had tears in my eyes... Yes, I am a baseball freak, but I understand those who are not...
The grid is fairly straightforward once you get the "sense" of its layout...
how far are you from me, Scarlet? I love the museums here too
I like all these funny g words
any clues for the 9 & 10 letter words?
We moved to Asheville, NC, at the end of 2005, and we are loving this funky city... but Boston has such a charm ("big dig") notwithstanding... I loved it there... watching the sculling and listening to the language
Hi, Mary! Not there, yet!
Oh, Mary... didn't you have a massive word loss last night... did it get "fixed"? I felt so bad for you.
back to find my last 37 words
Hi, peri! YOu're ahead of me!
Will catch up on correspondence after finishing this one, peri! :-)
Hi, just started, no finally found my entire list after restarting the computer. Was missing one though and finally found it. Was a toughy.
Oh, I felt horrible when you said you were almost done with that monster and everything just disappeared!
I am looking forward to getting your e-mail Scarlet :-)
Soon, dear... soon... LOL
Can't stay long this am, must shop, bbl
Later, Mary!
Have a Reiki client (human) in a few hours and then I promised to volunter at the high school near me that offers classes for adults from 6 pm to 9pm
the 10 word is an en. do you have sc 6 yet? Put en in front and make it past tense
Good, peri... that's always good to hear that your talents are being used. Hi, inge. Like the old biblical sc****s that carry the word of God, inge.
Oh! Doh! That was a clue. Thank you inge! :-)
yes, scarlet, a good clue
:-)
havaing trouble with the ar words, 2nd ar5/14 and both ar6's
*having*
AR5/14, first one, creating a line or curve, past tense
NM found them, thanks Scarlet though
The second sounds like the sock pattern without the "Y"
great clue, Scarlet, and just when I needed it!
Great, boston!
Good going, peri!
Mary, the same happened to me on the big grdi on Friday (was it?) I actually emailed Dr. God to help me find my 52 missing words. Eventually they returned a few at a time, except for 2, which i then traced. So I was not the only person having that disappearing problem
any help on the 2 n's?
I would have trouble breathing if that happened to me, inge.
Drove me crazy especially being such a big grid
Someone clued: ****** Blye
ah!!!
And plural... also clued as the nasty girl on Little House on the Prairie
Yippee~! :-)
ne6/18 is a girl's name and its plural
de7 please
Not there yet, peri.
My computer cannot handle such big grids. Gets terribly slow. But I have learned to solve big ones from the bottom up, since after a while the lower part of my word list wont even show anymore
What a good idea, inge. I don't have that problem, but I have seen discussions about the list disappearing during large grids... that makes perfect sense.
peri, wilma always told fred not to be so dr5/12, past tense it.
de 7: the plural of those places that make good Reuben sandwihes/
inge, that could be because from the 2's down there was nothing. So maybe that's the problem. But don't worry it'll be a long time before I tackle such a long one again
i'm not awake..
do'h
Good morning, dc...are you still up, or have you had a catnap? LOL
sorry that should have read from the S's
i stayed up 29 hours yestarday, went to bed at 09:30, was awoken at 06:30.
morning, all.
thanks inge, got it, alternate spelling
Oh, dc... and you can still function? Poor thing... you need a hot cuppa coffee and a big breakfast... how about blueberry pancakes, eggs over easy and some sausage, for starters?
i just had scrambeled egg, some veggie sausage, and toast.
whoa!! I'm eating blueberry pancakes *right now*!!
i may have some oj.
Twilight Zone, boston... tee-hee.
lol
Then you're good to go, dc! :-)

lol
oh, is that not allowed ata?
its positively encouraged!
I better leave dc you were here first
I'm contacting Ripley's Believe it or Not!
i've noticed that there aren't many of us guys that partipate in chat. Who's online shows many more playing.
Don't go, ruru...please........
we're on together at night often ruru. Are daytime rules different?
there are always a good few playing, but yeah, I think they get overwhelmed by the chat!
some men just don't chat DC... its genetic
lol
heh. so very true, ruru
ok I'm one of the "lurkers" today. Morning (at least for me) everyone!
we've only ever had a few "real" male chatters here. you two, torgone, anj, lawyer1 ages and ages ago, 1 or 2 more
greetings, Judy.
hi Judy!
most people say you can't shut me up..
Greetings back at ya dc. Hi Ata!
you need a pic, ruru
I'm still recovering from yesterday's grid.
i went grocery shopping, dinner w/a friend, fell into bed, so never finished yesterday.
me too!
I'm one of those Babble fanatics. I had to finish the damn thing. It was after 11 p.m. here when I finally finished.
me too ....
i like to finish, but after being up for 29 hours, it was not in the cards.
you're just not addicted enough yet
geez, 29 hours. *slinks to corner thinking how tired she was yesterday after only 17 hours*
part of it Judy, is that i work nights, and now and again stay up through the following day on my days off.
as was the case yesterday.
don't think I could ever adjust to that schedule, dc
do you like working nights?
eh, i don't mind, but i look forward to moving back to days. Night shift has too much of an impact on my face-to-face social life.
were the shifts not 12-hours, it wouldn't be so bad, i think.
upside, nights are slow, so i get to babble through my shift. :)
hi all {{{{cj }}}
urf. yes. 12 hours is a looooooong time
{{{{{TO}}}}}
TO! hi!
How's things in the BIG city TO?
hi, TO
ata, it's even weirderd on a mon-sun week, i have a 60-hour, and a 24-hour workweek. this wek is th 24h one - work Wed & Thur.
Wow, dc. Those 60 hour weeks must be awful.
ok. I just looked at your LJ. hard boiled egg cookies. Explain, please!
oddly not, but it leaves little down time.
the hard-boiled egg cookies are recipe one of my austro-hungarian ancestorrs brought with her - she was ethnic hungarian.
I'm sure they are gorgeous. "Weird" things like that always are, but I couldn't even begin to work out how to make them!
it's a ro6/21 cookie, very lightly sweet, which batter contains hard-boiled egg yolks, that you roll thin - about 3cm, and back, and you get a very delicate
i'll send you the recipe if you'd like. We top w/walnuts and powdered/icing sugar, or whatever, bet ever glaze, it's too heavy for them.
i'd love that! my email addy is in my profile
cool. i'll do that later, once i find the recipe cards. They're in the library, and i think i know where. :)
sucks right now, ask again later!
haven't made ro6/21 cookies in years. add me to the list, dc. ciociajudy@msn.com
Good morning, all. The Babble gods (dr g, anyway) smiled on us today after that workout yesterday!
Oh, no, TO. *hands TO a margarita*
Please, likewise, dc.. bobbie_kalbaugh@yahoo.com
Hi, Krista
and Hi to Scarlet
Hi, TO... *keeping a respectful distance* Hi, Judy!
Hi, Krista.
thanks! I think you'll have a number of babblers asking the same question now. We'll all be converted, won't we scarlet!
aw, how DID you know?
Absolutely, Ata! I can't wait to try new and different things, especially a sweet!
ata, interior, graphic, or other design?
DC, I found a recipe on the www..is this similar to basic recipe? (doesn't have the toppings) http://bakingsheet.blogspot.com/2005/0 6/imbb-16-hard-cooked-egg-cookies.html
arty-farty design. Tolkien / fantasy / Celtic knotwork type stuff
i drafted the email, and will send before next sunrise GMT-4
oh, neat, ata.
Thank you so much, dcseain!
yeah, its fun :)
Is Asheville where the Biltmore is, Scarlet?
dc, if you want to save time, you could post it in your bio, and we can snag it from there!
Yes, Krista... about three miles from our home! It is a castle.
i have a friend who makes her living as a calligrapher, mosty by selling pithy calligraphic buttons(badges).
i'm willing to share, but not quite that openly ;)
LOVE Biltmore. Been there twice, Scarlet
I see jellen's name in the grid today.. first ping and now jellen... cn't wait for ruru
oh wonderful. I'm in awe of anyone who can make a living from art, especially calligraphy, its a beautiful thing to do
back to find my last 12 words, my Reiki client cancelled for today, will probably be tomorrow
I was there in '94, I think, Scarlet. I always get Asheville confused with another town.
{{{{peri}}}}
Oh, Judy... it is gigantic, and the gardens are on par with the royals... Asheville is a funky, artsy, foodies' town with great music and whatever you may desire.
one year ab it back, Bryn Mawr College had her letter their diplomas.
Hi Peri! Cool that you do Reiki. I have second degree right now, but feel kind of rusty, if that can happen.
OWL how are you feeling today
I had a friend who lived in Asheville for a while. Hubby got transferred. Not there anymore. Beautiful area, though.
oh wow. that muse have been long and hard work!
Was TO sick, Peri?
Owl's a touch "off" today, peri.. she's not talking about it yet!
she wasn't feeling well yesterday, CJ
*takes back Margarita and hands TO chicken soup*
Of all the beautiful things at the Biltmore, I remember the bowling alley the most!
I'm sitting here envisioning the billiard room, Krista.
CJ how is your Dad doing?
:s
We have friends visiting the second week of October, Krista, and they want to visit the Biltmore... I just can't walk those marble floors anymore... it is an exhausting tour of how many rooms? 400?
Oh, yes, Judy, that too. Isn't there an indoor pool as well?
good and bad, Peri. That's one of the reasons I don't chat much. I'm chatting today at work. But if I'm in Court can't do much of that. and at night there never is any time. We had a "scare" about two weeks ago. Had to rush him to the ER--sugar level was 36!!!
*OH, Judy!*
thanks for the update CJ sorry to hear about the ER visit
Wow, that's low. Sorry to hear that Judy.

Hello, Haz... your are looking particularly well-coifed this day!
sorry all id rifted off, a bit beetter ty until 2 hour fight with top lawyer today. i must grab lunch , bbl
Thank you, Scarlet. The wind is no match for industrial strength hair lacquer.
But give me time. One night's sleep and I'll have it wrecked.
Yes, Krista, and the energy wears thin sometimes... BUT, if we had a major league team and stadium closeby, I bet I would have the oomph to attend every game!
Hi Haz, are you back to feeling yourself then ?
*hugs* TO
Do you have Aqua Net in England?
Enjoy the brief perfection as you can, Haz... one day is a gift.
is Agua Net still sold?

sc5,16?
actually I saw tor on sudoku earlier today!
Never worked in retail Peri but my sister has for years. Not a fun place!
What was the worst part, Peri?
It seems so Haz; you turned into another personality that you obviously have no knowledge of...
sc 5 16 = sc + worn out cloth used for cleaning
So, is FM to blame for torgone leaving?
Ladie's Home Journal predictions of the 20th Century form 1900, print's a bit small: http://bp3.blogger.com/_sGYULzoQCgA/Ri R7L_dyCLI/AAAAAAAAAdU/2COTRQtZAk8/s160 0-h/Ladies+Home+Journal+Dec+1900+paleo future+paleo-future.jpg

My problem is work, Peri. It will take me about 1-1/2 hours to get down to K of P. It would probably work better for me on a weekend or if I take a day off work. But if TO is not feeling well, we should probably wait until she's doing better.
Hello caitlyn.
No foot stamping - nipping bad behaviour in the bud....
weekends are fine with me. just let me know where you are available and then I can tell TO,

I haven't even looked at the grid yet, it could be full of q's and k's for all I know.

what do you play rugby on over there?
grass, usually!
i couldn't either stid, work too busy yesterday and too slow today.
Not much rugby played at all here.
le 4/6, meadowlands.
not a pitch? we have sports pitches for everything!
LOL atalante, I don't actually know, but think it's a field, just like American football
le4/6 - le plus the initials preceding Mr Laurent, the fashion designer.
Mud Ata
very true FM
Nope. Our general names for sports played on grass is always "field."
rugby field. thats - weird! *considers it*

Enjoy yourself, stidmama!
And I am still helping in Mother's first grade classroom three mornings a week. Love it. bye now! *poof*

Sorry Flask. le4 - structured the same way as the metal things that open locks.
it means a meadow.

Feel free to talk about me and my , er, gears.
They probably ARE expensive dogs, though.
Are your gears burning when we talk about you?
ar6/27 anyone plz?
Don't worry, FMitch, we will.

ar6/27 - swished salt water in the throat, without its first letter
ar6/27 - past tense ending of ar5/14.
phone brb
like pinatas full of cash
But you wouldn't hit one of the dogs with a big stick.
Not while Atalante and I are around.
oh dear I don't have the ar5/14!
I hope not! Call the SPCA at once!
Oh now I have it!
especially not if exlpode quite happily by themselves
I wonder whether they go off spontaneously, or whether certain things set them off, like impact, or heat, or direct sunlight or something.
The pinatas?
I can't keep up with you guys tonight, I am all pooped out, back in a mo or 2 need mug of tea and the DoD for comfort :)
thanks for the mouthwash. I just have the en 8 and 9 left. Anyone?
en8 - coil up parchment
If one of those expensive, explosive dogs get fireworks, we are in trouble
dooooooooom!
lmao fiber
the 9 is tr9
yours could be the Dog of Booooom BRB
I like to think of it as having peepers like an ogre, but it's really past tense of cable car

Phew. Congrats Fiber, on both counts.

Blinded by all the fireworks as I come back with mug of tea. Congrats. Ah yes my flikr pics Vi, had forgotten I had put them up there. Did you see the tenrec? the one that looks like a punk rocker on 4 legs?
Time to read "McElligot's Pool" and "The Warlord's Beads." Back later for the remaining words.
tenrecs are quite wonderful
ce5/12 - same structure as the five abilities of touch, taste etc.
Oh - that's a strange one - ty Haz.
You're welcome.
So, is the DoD holding the tea?
back again
(You've put me in the mood for a cup of coffee)
Hello Karys again.

Pulls self up to high, adjusts shoulders and prepares for punishment.

Karys we missed you and its lovely to have you back as you are nice and kind and don't blame me for everything *lip quiver*
a cross Atlantic court martial?

I think so, Karys. I left inge in charge, she thought she had left FMitch in charge. They hadn't filled out their forms in triplicate - what can you expect?
I'm taking you with me inge

thanks haz, finished.
frogface, you will be pleased to know that I got Babbler to put down Octo. 13 as American Frog day in the Icon theme
Well done, frogface!
forms were not in Spanish, German and French
and did thay not get permission either ?
Will definitely make sure i'm here on 13th, don't need to change my icon.
yes they were written in Enable and you know how hard that is!
Congrats frogface !
We'll have to go back to square one on the rule book.
in that case Mitch they must have been empty !
is it far Haz....it is getting late you know !
How about writing the rules down in Latin, since that comes up so often in the grid?
with some added Hawaiian
Or even old Scots. We know lots of old Scots words.
and one or two Welsh ones
Perfect, Haz. do we ask Flask to write them? Who else is a true Scot in babbleland?
and I have homework to do and it is getting late as Karys says and I've had a beastly day. Can't we just say sorry and move on???????Nudges inge to agree!
There's lizmac as well, and bllmster and Craggus.
Sure, FMitch, I will call you if Haz gets out of hand again
oh dear Mitch...is it getting better now ?
Me? Getting out of hand? I'm the restraining influence around here, didn't you know that?
Haz...where has Spangle gone ?
Yes, but you were UNKIND to Caitlyn
I think Spangle and Hobbit are on hols together
Spangle is fine, don't worry. Just giving the CoG an outing for a day or two.
Unkind to Caitlyn? I was saving her from herself.
Hobbit's fast asleep after her scare earlier
I'm SO misunderstood.

Just about coping, but I expect Chelsea's season to go completely tits-up now!!!!!
it hasn't already?
ga5/14 like a croc
Ah well, that's what happens when you have a multi-milionaire at the helm.
Oh Ata be gentle, lots of bruised Chelsea Supporters out there.
poor chelsea supporters

Poor poor Chelsea supporters.
oh ty Mary.
What is it about CFC that means they can't keep the same manager for more than two or three seasons?
I'm coming out in sympathy.
I don't know, MM, they're nearly as bad as Newcastle.
got to leave you all for a while...may be back later
especially when they got a decent one
See you later, Karys.
I mean, Sir Alex has been at the helm of Red Devils United for 21 years now.....
*grin* as BF is ardent long time Arsnal fan.... Bye Karys
Later Karys
I know, they don't have the patience to let a manager get on with things. They want instant results.

Flask - I clued it at 1.37 -look back.
se + to quit or leave, then pluralise
I hate PCness sometimes. watching programme about kids with "life-limiting condition"
In other words, they're going to die young?
PCness drives me to distraction

I trust you went out and bought some real chocolate today, Hurshy. ;)
How old is your little boy, Krista?
My son is 6, my other child is 41! My husband wants the 80.00 Bumblebee figure for Xmas!
I already have two of the new figures, Blackout and Rachet, and I haven't removed them from their boxes yet!!!!!!
If you haven't already, take a look on eBay at some of the custom-painted and custom-built figures individuals have made. They are amazing (and very expensive).
I'm always looking on eBay for some of the original 80s toys......
Did you like them the first time around? my nephew told me that his old Tformers are on my parents' attic..I'm waiting until it gets cooler then I will look for them..
Certainly did, Krista, I was a Transformers nut when I was a kid!!!!!
Ah, the 80s, what a decade that was!!!!!!
back and pumped after listning to my favorite song
Cool 'toons on telly, cool music......
And cool movies!!!!!!!!

"Brat Pack" movies..Pretty in Pink, 16 Candles, etc...they were more chick flicks, I guess
i mean my mom said when it came out it was the scaryist movie at the time
You mean the Alfred Hitchcock film? I thought it was pretty good......
Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Monte Python

Along with Psycho and Rear Window, it's my favourite Hitchcock film

Hi Dilly
Good luck, lorr, and Happy Babbling! I'll check back later, to see if you're still here.
Hi, dilly
bye Jellen !
i may be but worried I'm not up to yr standards
lorr, the only standards you have to be up to are yours.
aww u r lovely thank u
Everybody works at their own pace, ability, and within the time they have available. It's not competitive in the way other games are.
Lorr - you will get there, give yourself time. I know it took me months before I even finished a game - and understood the clues given!
ne 6/7 combo
speak for yourself, i'm totally competitive
Hi, hurshy
hi hurshy
hi hurshy !
nm, go it
thanks lynxx
Hi Count
ne6/7 - whoa ne****, plural

next one is de + "hal** of fame"
Lorr - most of us have a favorite pet - a monkey - who we use to enter random combinations of letters, its surprising what 'is' a word
another is de + abbr. of Low Country...
Fireworks
Congrats Doxy!
the english language, i've discovered, contains an amazing number of words, most of them we never see let alone, use !

bye Doxy
lynxxx is there just one other tr besides that whole group, or am i missing some?
only a tr4.5

oh and i'm at the dreaded 14! dun dun dun
lynxx, the only ta word is a starchy root'
just dropping in to see all is well
TY Inge - but I was just letting Hursh know - I finished a little while ago
as well as can be expected at the dreaded 14
it is really a very kind grid, I think
it has been so far, yes
have you got the to steel Hush?
i don't know, what's the to steel, lol? i'm so bad with knowing the babblet definitions...

but there are 2 je4.9
i have that and the similar pl, and a related 4 and 7
je6.36 then
i thought of past tense just as i posted, lol!
your guess would have been right if i had not been stupid.

there are 150 today
ty hursh
no, you have to thank inge, because she said it first
to the victor go the spoils
who cares
i do :)
got my R!
I'd best be going - see you all later
so this is a competition after all!
told you i was competitive :)
but not in a bad way.
bye lynxxx, thanks for the help
I always tell newbies that we are not competing, hence my comment
i am competing, i'm just not allowed to mention it very often because it offends people, lol
there are 4 scr words. Do you have them all?
yes
3 sn words
got those also... gee, must be missing fishes
and you do have teh verb meaning to dessert from the union?
yes indeedy
ooh just found one that i thought i put in but hadn't
you, know to leave, like a state leaving the union
that finishes the bottom S
and i have no more fours :(
and the plural of the male genitalia
but one tosses a boston cream pie on the way out
well that's an scr, inge, and we established that i had those. are you feeling ok?
just realized my redunancy
redundancy
my dad always says the first step is to admit the pain
i guess it would also apply to redundancy
hubby is cooking supper (waffles), so I may have to leave in a hurry
no worries
i'll veigle along alright
OK, where are your holes, Hursh?
one right D, 2 of the S next to it, 1 C, 2 G
I will stay til he calls, wouldnt want to hinder his progress
and i won't hinder the hinter
i would love a clue for the 9 and ten letter words anyone.
tr9 rode a conveyance in san francisco
de 5/12? de + ***t, bird home
en10 wrote down on a bit of papyrus
nope, got that one
ooooh found my D it was also my last 7!
s + long electric fish
hurshy, that is 7 letters what you ride in san fran. where is the 9?
yes, i am done with fours so i have that one
tr7 a conveyance, tr9 RODE a conveyance.
well , with those se words , doubble the cons. and add vowel and pural
oh thank you inge!!
yipee, I found two for hurshy
:)
hi all.i have one left and a stinking headache and would love to go to bed but i can't til i get it.won't sleep otherwise.i'll be thinking of words all night and make my headache worse.gl6/33 please.

hi lill
oh goody, that is one of my g's too!
hi jo.how are you?
good and u
gl6/33 - rhymes with played
aha
past tense of gl4/8
oh paige beat me to it
stinking cold and headache but otherwise great.
could those ge words be related to the 4-letter word for joy? first three letters are the same
what is the point total, please?
lol humid here
it's something scottish, inge, i forget if that's the meaning
2029
i fancy nt but i could be wrong
thanks, ok, let me see
39 points, so the 6 is odd. 12 and 27 is more likely than 21 and 18, i should think
but the g can't have a 5/12, so it must be the 27. i am missing a g6/27 and a c5/12.
if you have the gl 5, add the plural
tyvm.fireworks for me and i can do4/5 myself up and go to bed finally.i'm like you hursh, competitive!
yes, must be bc there is only one way to make a g5/18 and i have that. i tried the other, unlikely as it was, and it won't go.
yes i have one gl6/27 that is a pl and i have a ga6/27 that is a past tense
Congrats, lilli!!!
the two gl 6 differ only in the placement of two letters, invertfourth and fifth letter
go fig, i thought the singular 5 of that was a past tense of the 4! thanks!
Congrats Lilli & hello all.
thanks jellen.happy babbling to you all.see you later.goodnite all.
wtg congrats lill
congrats and night lilli
hi scrab
Hi, Scrabbler

Guten Abend Scrabbler, Pen just called for dinner! he baked waffles tonight with blueberries
I smile every time I see your icon, hurshy. I love that show.
Yummy, Inge, I will be right over!

Joanne is pleading for help. I can help.
bon appetit inge
Bye, Inge
It is starting to get dark already!
so let me see, what is this last c5/12... i have the instrument and the end of make angry... hmmmmmmm
I'm here to clue (and avoid paperwork for awhile).
PLURAL instruments!
huzzah!
Change the last vowel of the string instrument
Huzzah for you, hurshy!!!
se5 after the opp of to buy?
i would CARPE FELIS in celebration but i'm already cuddling him
add vowel sc
Add a vowel to the se4
i'll just wap him
hi all a clue for the 2nd ar 5 please
Wap him?
Yahoo for Hursh! Which feline are you cuddling now? Prince Martin?
ar5= rhymes with what you do with mouthwash gar***
ty jellen
that was driving me crazy
Provides basis for next two words
yes indeedy doo
sc5,16 please?
1589 "to argue obstinately,"
Oh, and TY for the clue for se5 a bit ago. (I must remember good manners.)
yes, i cuddle good prince martupov most often because, well, he wants it more.
and i wap him on his side because, well, he loves it.
sc5= start of your name + *arden
TY again and as usual, Master Babble Cluer Jellen!
Okay, as long as he likes wapping.
*blushing now*
jellen can i have 117 clues please
oh and ty must remember my manners
yes he is so fond of it, and i do not know why. he also likes the nose petting. he is an odd lad.
Now, these ne words have been hiding on me--help please?
Sure, AK! The bills can wait. . .
whoa, alison arngrim!
ne6= Nasty girl on Little House on the Prairie; ne7 is plural
Is that the name of the actress, hurshy?
yes indeedy
oh jell paying bills is over rated. just tuck them under a couch cushion
Oh, my nephew just pulled in to the driveway--BRB '
They've been in a stack by my bed for quite some time--and they keep coming!
jellen - ne rhymes with another word for stomach
ah right next to the dust bunnies (at lease that is where i keep my bunnies)
Hi, Knight. Like your latest poem.
ty jellen
OK, nephew wants food and to get laundry done. Aunt Scrabbler to the rescue.
i'd like those things too auntie scrab
What a good aunt. I'm a terrible aunt by comparison.
aw, that's cool, i think it will be nice when i have a nephew old enough to come over to do laundry
right now he is only -1 month old... so it will be a while.
He lived with me for his last 2 yrs of HS and now he commutes to a community college and comes here about 2 nights/wk.
Don't let his mother know you'll do laundry--I think a one-month-old's laundry is nasty.
can I have the first ce6/24 thanks
that is nice. so very agatha christie.
TY for the ne clues. 4 to go.
That's very Agatha Christie.
past tense of ce4.5 before it
Go, Scrabbler!
?? Agatha Christie--I don't get the reference.
speed add ed to the 4/5
true for both ce combos
oh, jellen, he's not one month, he's -1 month. he hasn't got any laundry yet.
people in agatha christie books were always living with maiden aunts because they'd been orphaned or whatnot
Is his name still Wesley?
yes, wesley steven
I am an old maid/spinster, and quite happy about it too.
They start having laundry as soon as you wrap a baby blankie around them.
I like those names, Hursh.
he is due around the end of oct.
well nobody has wrapped a blankie around him jellen, he's still got amniotic fluid
I am learning how to be single again, Scrabbler.
well, which month was he shorted on?
i am learning for the first time jellen!
And Wesley has increasingly tight quarters now---very cramped.
Oohhh! Sorry, I misunderstood.
people do not take hursh literally enough. hursh is generally very deliberate.
Getting a blankie in there might be uncomfy for Mom, too.
I cannot imagine sharing my life/home with a husband.
Hi BR--how are you doing over there in the Dakotas?
brabble lives in the dakota territory? i did not know that.
I've had a lot of changes (some my choice), so that I'm very much alone most of the time.
I forget--North or South, BR?
Hi, BabbleRabble
me too jellen!
North
Scrabbler, i have been married 30+ years and can't imagine a life without my wife.
I love solitude.
I am doing okay
bismarck
Except for the cats and a dog.
fargo
but bismarck is the capital
I was married 20 years and am still having trouble envisioning life w/o a spouse.
i know all the capitals
Knight--congrats! We each have to find what works best for us.
yes
Were you in the Fargo movie, BR?
nah, that was a misnomer the movie was set in minnesota
i can't help but think about the Coen brothers movie when I hear fargo
what if we can't figure out what works best for us, sc?
what is the capital of estnia
I don't remember much about the movie except that it received critical acclaim and I couldn't figure out why.
i don't know if what i have is the "best" because I haven't explored every option. but I do know that it works
i don't know all the world ones. only the state ones. i started learning the world ones one time but i never finished.
tallin
Hi, mrp
I know my county seat
project for a rainy day
hi jellen :)
Hursh--we learn by trial and error, by observation of life, by introspection, by careful thinking, ......we all have regrets, probably
My capital is pretty easy to remember.
rhode island is so small that we have counties, but they don't matter. nobody pays any attention to them.
*capitol
oklahoma city!
i have lots and lots and lots of regrets
prezzie baby!!!
Capital, hurshy!!
i'm chock full of em
Life is full of mistakes and regrets, and that is how we grow wiser.
Hey, nut!
hey jellery!
hello nuttery
hi nutery
i think i'm going to keep making mistakes for a long time
My cat is destroying my paperwork stacks.
hey there knight time - i was partially successfull on your suggestions
i'll end up being the wisest person ever, i spose
Hey Nutter
regrets are a waste one energy .... learn; forgive; move one
prez, what did you do to that poor icon?
wonderfull nut
Hursh, mistakes are called lessons, and we all experience them.
Well said, BR.
is epsiode 21 ready yet nuttery?
churchill said success is going from failure to failure without a loss of enthusiasm
i don't make mistakes...knight, 21 should be ready in hopefully an hour
beautiful, o the anticipation is killing me
want me to call the police?
I am not surprised, Nut. Pirates never screw up, do they?
well, let me see, i never had any enthusiasm to lose, so i guess i must be a success
nope, we just walk those that accuse us of screwing up off the plank.
nutty, buddy. How are you? Is there an address to which one can send comoplaints about homeland security measures? We had a terrible hold up on the Ambassador Bridge (2 hours) for processing passports of German tourists. I wrote to Granholm and Sen. Levin, and everbody sasy I should be writing to the StateDept or Homeland Security. What do you say?
i have too much enthusiasm, usually for the wrong things....like i never have enthusiasm for laundry.
Enthusiasm is hard.
beats me inger...i be the private sector...maybe you should write to the prime minister?
ain' it the truth, ain' it the truth!
doing anything well entails enthusiam
lol nut
enthusiasm and regrets are choices
I be done. This video is different---a cowboy from Texas.
jellen, we have so much in common right now. it is too bad we do not live near each other.
i be happy for you scrabbler
We be happy!
i be yappy
I know hurshy. I don't have plans to visit Rhode Island very soon.
enthusiasm can't ALWAYS be a choice. i mean it would be unnatural to have much enthusiasm if, say, your kid had just stepped on a land mine and you didn't know where your next meal was coming from.
you are lucky you have a house though, that is so cool.
sick ....
negative chatter is a bane that saps valuable energy .... all the ruminating couldas shouldas and wouldas help naught ... recognize the fallacy of mowt self-flagellation .. maintain the positive ... perfectionists must give themselves a break
negative chatter is a bane that saps valuable energy .... all the ruminating couldas shouldas and wouldas help naught ... recognize the fallacy of mowt self-flagellation .. maintain the positive ... perfectionists must give themselves a break
it's sick, but it's reality for many people in africa.
in my world it is ALWAYS a choice.
and you're dwelling on that because?
i'm enthusiastic about it
Keep an attitude of gratitude whenever possible, but some things in life just suck. Two of my patients have died in the last week. :(
I'm sorry to hear that, Scrabbler. That must be very difficult for you.
Sorry to hear that Scrabbler. It must drain you completely
who said i was dwelling on it? i was simply making a point, that our worldview and philosophy is affected by our circumstances.
not to mention the patients
being in my business (oncology) i am greatful for every day i am allowed to enjoy
*are affected.
grammar obviously being affected by lack of sleep, lol.
cancer does that doesn't it ak?
yes in deedy
One baby was a preemie and the other had Down Syndrome with many problems. Their parents are enduring terrible sorrow.
where is deedy and why is yes in it?
deedy is very busy
I have a friend named DeeDee.
i have to disagree hurshy, I think most of our circumstances result from our choices. I agree that there are environmental conditions overwhich we have little or on control, though
i prefer ditty
we all make choices and those choices determine where we will go next
Yippee, I get to be on-call starting right now.
key example...hubber and i could be all poor us and depressed, or not...we choose not.
sorry to interupt but i would love clues for that 9 and 10 word. i have the san fran transportation word but that is 7 letters tr*****. any clues as to what is the 9 and 10? i asked before but had to go make supper for the husband and me.

the 9 and 10 are unrelated
all in life is self talk: tell yourself all is good and life is great and it is. tell youself all is awful and life sucks and it does. great book: "what to say when you talk to yourself" by shad helmstedder. brilliant man.
the 9 is a past tense of the tr7 before it
fannie, the 10 comes from en8, which is en + rolled piece of parchment; en10 is past tense
the 10 is the past tense of the en8 before it
currently myself and i are not speaking. told myself not to eat that extra cookie i did not listen ..... now we are fighting

It is not fair for you to think negative thoughts and then to expect others to bring you happiness. It cannot be done. There is but one source of happiness and that is within you. Lowell Fillmore

Who?
I'm not, unless it's on satellite
it is on the CW
Don't get the CW.
bummer.
lol
i think mimbos are worse than bimbos!
What are mimbos?
male bimbos
Oh, they're equally annoying, but mostly harmless.
somehow, though, maybe because it is less.. "traditional"?... it is more disturbing to see a guy spend hours grooming.
I must confess I don't spend much time around either set, and don't give them much thought.
i dont usually either but this show is so fun and why the heck has my apostrophe turned into a "quick find" trigger button??
I add, too many, commas, to my sentences.
no i mean literally, when i hit apostrophe, instead of an apostrophe a "quick find" box pops up at the bottom of the page and i do not know how to get rid of it
anyone know what i need to do?
How annoying. I have no idea. Are you in Firefox?
yes
BTW, I had that comma sentence typed before you sent your apostrophe comment.
lol
i love this girl geek. how do i get to be her friend?
25 left and counting
fireworks!!
yeah lizmac
Go, AK!! I've resorted to opening more envelopes the contents of which I don't want to know.
Congrats, lizmac!!

Hi, feather!

i do not suppose you also happen to know how to fix my problem?
i flipped to daily show, who won the guys challenge
not sure...the only thing that comes to mind is just restart everything
sometimes, my computer will randomly decide to not type certain letters, or do everything in caps, and i have to restart to fix it
restart firefox at least... sigh... ok, bbiab... but first tell me who won the rap, john or will
will
sorry, wasn't paying attention
cool
i did not want john to win just for using the c word
yeah
ok brb
how is this grid, hard, average or easy?
10 left all s words

Have to call ex about one of the envelopes I opened. BBL
jasmine is like nails on a chalkboard to me

i'd say most of the beauties have some potential to be smarter than they appear....except for her

Yes, he just said to tell you hello and that he asked about you. He said he had a test today, chatted about movies for a while, etc. Nice kid. :)
yes, he is! thanks :)
i want to have a test!
it's been ages since i had a test. sigh.
ok, how fast can you list the 50 states alphabetically?
I miss school...itching to go back for grad school...or something.
open to anyone
first person to have all 50 listed correctly without cheating gets to raid the penalty box
this is so much fun..just as good as a test...http://www.mapmsg.com/games/sta tetris/usa/
ohh, will have to check later. have actually started the grid tonight
it's like Tetris, but with the states
oooo, neat
alabama alaska arizona arkansas california colorado connecticut delaware florida georgia hawaii idaho illinois indiana iowa kansas kentucky louisiana maine maryland massachusetts michigan minnesota mississippi missouri montana nebraska nevada new hampshire new jersey new mexico new york north carolina north dakota ohio oklahoma oregon pennsylvania rhode island south carolina south dakota tennessee texas utah vermont virginia washington west virginia wisconsin wyoming

*hands keys to penalty box over to hurshy*
YAYYY!!!!
I am sad to admit I did very poorly on it. I get confused in the midwest (that just begs for some kind of punchline)...wooo, hurshy go

TY Joso
lol...yes...in reality i'm french, tho i don't speak much of it
np cath, was only 1/2 paying attention myself
lol...at least now we can go to US and get our $$ worth! :)
((oops...hope that's not a sensitive political spot with anyone))
se6= leave officially like the Confederate states did during the US Civil War
lol, was giving a clue to Doc, not dropping a hint to Quebec Cath
ty Jell
rhymes with centipede
That was fireworks!
congrats DR!

g'nite Doc
nite doc
Frog in coffee
yeah...that's the new one :)
ewww....DON'T DRINK IT JELLEN...U MIGHT GET STONED!
not I, need some form of money, of any nation's, before I can do that. lol
I used to have a coffee bar in my bookstore
i'll have a double toad frappacino
toadally dood
you have a book store, I'm jellous
well...when yer ready to go, drop me a message...i'll meet ya at the border! where ya from anyway joso?
wart's happening
my mum used to own a bookstore
I used to have a bookstore. I sold it.
I am not a businesswoman. I just love books and coffee.
I'm in to, you know, the town anyone in Canada blames
umm.. who doesn't love books and coffee?
jell - i applaud you for trying, not an easy thing
ahhh...i don't blame TO...from there meself joso...well, actually cambridge
saw first hand my ex-friend crash & burn her business, cost us our friendship too
Made it nine years, but it wore me down.
(a long time ago was hespeler)
I've been to Canada a couple of times :)
hard to run a bussiness in a field you love, no objectivity.
wow - well that's a long time!
it is a tough business with all the big stores taking a chunk of pie
Luckily, I was able to sell to my sis-in-law, who is a businesswoman
I lived in KW for a couple of years Cath
joso - i think it's alot harder to run a business you hate, imagine coming to work everyday & your boss, the owner, complaining about the hell-hole you had to spend all day working in
kitchener west?
almost moved to Manitoba in the 70''s
lol? not sure...KW
awww, jell, that's great, now you get to be a 'consultant'
must have been both a relief and broken your heart Jellen
then you got better ruru?
was only 7 when we left...but i moved to TO when I was 21...came back to Nova Scotia when I was 29
I've been to Nova Scotia
:) did ya like it here moo?
it's pretty
Mostly a relief, joso. Better than a consultant, I'm a customer with a family discount!
specially in summer
yes Cath, lived in Kitchener and worked in Waterloo, ran a Store called Gameways, in Waterloo Square.
actually I did Cath
we came over on the Cat and drove up to Liverpool, then across to Digby...down to Brier Island and then back to Yarmouth
kewl joso...never been there sorry to say. :(
sound like you have cake and can eat it too now Jellen
where in NS did u visit moo?
ahh...so u never made it through our fair town of truro...
You bet'cha, joso.
u hit the south shore only...hope it was during the summer or early fall moo!
not Truro, but antquied in Cambridge.
that's when that part of NS is prettiest and warmest
no, didn't get to truro...did go to kejimkujik and see a bear tho
the rest of NS is a little warmer than that, but there's lots of seasides stuff to see on the south shore
lol....a bear!! ooooh
yeah...it popped up right by the car
we stayed a night in Summerville Beach
a lot of history on the south shore too...
acadian's came from parts of digby i think...but mostly kentville, NS...when they were expelled, most landed in louisanna
Brier Is was cool...we went whale watching off there
hence "cajuns" french pronounciation of "acadienne"
whale watchin is neat...they will sometimes curiously come right up to the boats!
they seem gentle here...as if like dolphins
oop...doggie wants in...brb then i'll shortly sign off with still 54 words left **sigh**
we saw 4 kinds of whales in the Bay of Fundy
been too busy gabbin i guess...takin up too much log time prob anyway :(
what kinds moo?
bk
sorry guys...i'll shuddup...i'm just a quick typist...do it for a living...but it gets in the way...sorry
Do you want to get more words through clues, Cath? It's why I'm here.
saw Fin, Humpback, Minke and Sperm whales
also saw harbour porpoises
i'd like to jell...been too busy socializing...and unfortunately, it's 12:47 a.m. here and I have to get up at GAWD...6 am.
I'm a terrible typist. Actually, the chat log is helping me a bit, but I'm slow.
ooohhhh...sounds nice moo
it was awesome
honestly...i've never gone whale watching, but on a trip to Prince Edward Island from NS...we saw sperm whales from the "confederation bridge"...was neat ...my son who was 6 then, spotted them first...he was so excited to show us he saw them first!!!
I've been three times...once in Canada, twice down in New Zealand
oooh...New Zealand!!! Now that'd be a nice trip!
Where did you live in New Zealand, Moo?
a few places, but mostly in Hastings
moo...u have certainly been around!
r u a jetsetter? ;)
try to Cath...still much of the world to see
at one point I'd lived in every country I'd been to :)
I have a friend or two in Auckland.
u sound very fascinating moo! may i ask what u do that enables u to travel so much?
my dad just moved recently from Auckland...moved to Trinidad
and live is so many different places?
I guess I'm an opportunistic traveller cath...if an opportunity comes up, I do it
I've only lived in NZ, Australia and the US (where I now live) so not too exotic
sounds like a great way to live! see as much of the world as one can in what little time we are given on it!
that's my goal
hopefully go to Africa next year
although I want to do christmas in trinidad
(that lifestyle is only in my dreams as a single mom tho...but my son is worth the sacrifice...so maybe when he is older he can experience those things)
For work or play (Africa)?
play :)
lucky u moo
yeah, understood Cath...I have no kids
well...i guess i'd better head to bed...such a nightowl i am...pay the price when trying to get ready for work at 6 a.m.
oh well...nite nite all
night cath
G'night, Cath. Nice to see you.
pleasant dreams :)
u too jellen and moo..
l8r all!
hanging out...waiting for the flip
Me, too, although there are things I *should* be doing.
should schmould :)
I did sort through the mass of paper that I had piled up--you know bills, statements, names of clock menders and piano tuners.
there...you've accomplished something
I really am settled in my home-town. I have a piano that needs tuning.
oops...before i sign off...jellen...did u notice u r in the grid today? (k...now i'm going...bye....poof)
heh
one of the side effects of moving is you really don't have a home town
k...so was trying to squeeze in another word or 2 b4 i left... seriously outta here now tho...
soooo tired
bye
I live in the house my grandparents built in 1926.
bye!
byee
hi, all. I need help wi the 2nd ar5/14, pls. i'm just not getting it.
ar5 sounds like what you do with mouthwash; gar***
ty, jellen. I'd tried all but the g. Sigh. it's been that kind of day for me. :)
Have you caught up on your sleep? Or were you talking about that today? Confusion
ah, i tried, but alas, at 06:30, a VERY noisy crew arrived and began street work, so probably not.
i've been a bit addle-brained all day.
Road crews at 6:30 would addle me, too.
they seem to have laid some random strips of sealant, then left about 2 hours later. Why they were there so early to do that baffles, and annoys, me. I live on a private road, and i know next Wed/Thur, they are going to reseal. I think the contractor was confused maybe.
/whine
I'd think someone was out to deprive me of my sleep. But I'm paranoid that way.
it's felt like that some days since i went to nights.
which county's currency is Z$?
No idea.
Zimbabwe
6,598.3% inflation so far this year.
Hi -- awfully tired with 34 left
well if I can offer help, let me know jilli
hi, jilli. i managed in my addled state, i'm sure you will too. :)
mugabe has ruined what used to be a nice country.
how about gr5/14?
Hi, jilli!
hi jelli!
sounds like a farm animal with an r
gr + *** bran cereal
should have known that one -- John O'Gr***s
yep
was going to use that clue, but didn't know whether you'd know it
moo, I'm an ex-brit
ah
Who/what is John O'Gr***s?
it's a place :)
in the UK
What is it? Giant Steps to John O'G? Don't quite remember
way at the tip of scotland, if google maps has placed it correctly.
From one extreme to the other
heh
the other extreme is at the tip of Carnwall -- the toe of the UK
That is at the tip of Scotland
Cornwall
my ancestors came from Cornwall :)
rolin's from cornwall originally, or do i miss recall?
nope, my bad. not even close
i think i should sleep. g'night, everyone.
G'night, dc
night dc -- btw, there waqs someone else on this afternoon (your evening) with dc in her name
i saw that briefly.
I'm not going to finish -- chat is more interesting
a friend of mine in Maryland told me about the game. He was right that i'd like it.
Are you sure, jilli? We can clue (I'm volunteering Moo).
i *might* be able to clue. :) at least i'll try.
I still have 33 left -- more than one a minute and I tend to digress :)
ok, let's satart eith gl5/16 and gl 6/27
It would be fun to try (for me anyway).
forgive the typos ;)
gl5= gl4/6 + 4th letter
gl6 is the plural
the times in the chat log sometimes confuse me. I've dealth through the years with various time differences, but mine =1 isn't one, except here.
no, the first gl 5/16, after the 4/7
and so is the 5
switch the last two letters of the one I clued
Sorry!
add a vowel, jilli
add a vowel after the 4, then plural, then plural again for the 5
Evening ladies
Hi, hootowl
Hi Jellen - taking pills
hi hoot
evening, hootowl.
sorry - and gentlemen!
Hi jill
je6/36 plz
all good, i know how reasonably rare it is for one of my gender to be in chat. :)
the pudding has je6
je4/9, past tense
And usually it's my son!
oh, another fish
le5/10?
and the third is what you get after that - jams & je*****
add vowel to the 4/4, jilli
le + bird's ***t
had that, hoot, thanks

ty Jellen
huh. i'll have to read up a tad on that. i've never studied a fully declined language.
to4/5

Well since ours and a lot of others are based on it you probably know more than you think
to4= rocky hill + 3rd letter
2
to4 is a necklace
tr4/5?
tr + commercial
all I know of latin plurals is through a vowel at it, canges seemingly randomly with gender, seasons, mood of writer, wind conditions, phases of the moon and the outcome of the trifeta. Don't know the gender of a rock, cloud, ocean or knife. (though with nards I could actually make a good guess)
swap without last letter
tr4= tr + commercial
last one -- last ye4/6?
I think they are all male joso
y+sick
ye 4/6 = scream
WHEN I TALK REAL LOUD

hi, mrpres!
That tr9 is a corker!
any predictions?
Going to find an icon. brb
282
51 on the inverse prediction. That should kill a half hour, tops.
That is not a legitimate word in my book!
hi dan and dc... yes, it reflects my delightful mood :B
ohoh
185
the low ones are all wierd words, can be tough
well, 'i metroed to the game' is valley, ergo, tr9 is valid.
