argh the list didnt help much, I am thinking their are a lot of strange words in this one!
just look at the je's, meliae
icon clue posted, probably unnecessarily but maybe the meaning is fun
yeah I know, thats what i mean!
thunderjug? does that have a meaning other than rather untoward ones i know from my years living at the edge of the inner-city ghetto?
if I was a cursing woman, these F words would make me say a few!

Hello Sprite!
HIYA sprite
hey mrP! Did you check your email? Got a surprise for you and Lickety :)
ok ... will go look
woot, nice crowd this morning again :D Hi all, having fun with this grid?
eh, sprite. it's turning up more work
mornin all!
ah, dc... good work or bad work?
Hi, granadan
mostly tedious to me, but i was bored coming into the puzzle tonight.
hi granadan :)
morning granadan
*hugs dc* Being bored is something alien to me, but it must be very irritating!
well, i could disappear into the book i brought with me, but i want social interaction, so here i am. :) This is a good group for that.
and we are always happy to see you, dc :D
oh -- missed your arrival, sprite! {{{hug}}}
hat you readin dc?
hey jilli! *hugs right back*
which book did you bring, dc?
this keyboard hates ws and Ss
great minds sprite
The Subtle Knife by Phillip Pullman is the one on the desk, and i have Jared Diamond's Collpase in my bag.
awww granadan, that is really bugging your playing, isn't it. My hubby's keyboard has something similar.
brb. Cat who needs medication just walked into room.
wow, those sound good, dc! Can I read them once you finished them?
oo jellen -- is this the one you snuck up on last night?
i've been esacpist in my reading lately, so His Dark Materials wins this week.
ohoh... roots for Jellen on her tame-the-lion expedition.
are they good dc? enjoy THAT experience jellen!
hello all
save the fingers!!!!!!!!!
hi lynxxx :D
Subtle Knife is book 2 in the His Dark Materials Trilogy. I just finished The Golden Compass, and i've been enjoying them a lot.
hi, lynxxx
hiya lynx
Sprite, i can ship them to you if you'd like.
Just landed on my lap with a pathetic whimper. Meds will wait a few minutes.
I'm enjoying Bill Bryson's 'I'm a Stranger Here Myself'
hi lynxxx
jellen, that's just a tactit to avoid the meds, and you know it.
Hi, lynxxx
jellen, have anice snuggle with Puss
I've written them down, dc... wouldn't want to make you pay for letting me read, lol, and I fear the shipping would be almost just as expensive as buying new ones from here! Thanks for the great offer though :)
Ive just finished Maia by Richard Adams - not my usual read and I just loved it - not what ou expect from him
If you can get to something more easily, wouldn't you call that re5ier?
oh heck, now it decides to argue with y as well
LOL@sprite
time for a new keyboard it sounds, granadan
hi everyone
this is so much fun! I am writing down all books here, don't even have time to find words :D My wish list for books grows and grows.
is it a laptop, granadan?
Its my 8th this year
hi diem!
Hi, diem
Hiya diem!

LOLLLLL gran... what on earth do you DO with them! Are you a hacker?

No, my son likes to pee in them - we dont know why..
night ruru, dream up pretty words :)
g'night ruru
Sprite - write down Romulus My father by Raimond Gaita. Great great book and the movie is even better
night ruru
argh gran, and how old is he? This must be a temporari thing...
bye Ruru
foed
night
wow lynxxx, thanks! Written down with the commendation!
Nearly 3 but hes the autistic one bless him - he just seems to love the way the piddle vanishes - Ive got a lock for the computer cupboard, but if I forget and go pee thinking he is asleep - little toad catches me every time LOL
granadan, in that case, unplug them from the computer, that will avoud shorting, and you can rinse them out to avoid crystalization, but allow to dry very well before using again.
Ill try that dc next time
lol gran, if that fascinates him so much, perhaps you can let him have an old one?
I get ireless ones for that reason
or train him to absobant pads on the floor?
good plan
he gets all the old ones, but he misses the full on experience then of mummy going purple and sulking till she can get back online!
Mari you out there?
only too true, gran, LOL.
true, though you may be able to retrain by not reacting as strongly, and always having a backup for yourself.
LMAO dc - his absorbant pad seems to be called my carpet! Oh dont get me wron, we adore ther little chap, but he can create bodily fluids quicker than we can catch him and mop them up - I do his nappies up with duct tape everytime, which slows him down a bit
gran, we don't get you wrong. You sound like the loving parent you are, and it is perfectly fine to joke about the things that are really hard to handle. In fact, I adore you for being able to see the humor of it all.
I agree with sprite entirely
diem -- sorry I missed your arrival
LOL - but he really IS funny - he is the best fun you could wsh for - live with him and youll never see things the same again. He inspects anything new with great suspicion form every angle And then stands on his head to see if it looks better form that angle too
wowwwww gran! More people should do that! He sounds wise :)
hee, that must be wonderful to watch, granadan :)
no need to be sorry jilli how are you?
I love him granadan - he sounds so precious
getting sleepy, diem!
hi again
hi Andree, wb :)

tis exactly why Im doing it! Bye all, catch you tomorrow or later
hi djin, missed your arrival, sorry!
over halfway, yay, and all tiles occupied
after 40 years, mine was an addiction
well done jilli !
wtg, jilli!
stopped 6 years ago for a couple of years and started again when I ran away from home
I bet, Andree.
ah, sounds like a stressful enough situation to warrant needing that addiction, lol.
fe7/40 please
yes sprite but really dumb to start again as giving up is a nightmare
type of iron ore, andree
fired still is not there
that is true, Andree, but it was sure understandable.
Now, what was that tr6/33 clue again? Prefix for three + plane? Didn't get it.
thx rmcc
plane engine type, sprite
lol... thanks dc... I'll pass it on to jilli.
a jumbo
I'm off on a *** plane don't know when I'll be back again
yw andree. jilli tr* + jumbo ***
oh my goodness, wot a word -- ty dc
and all
any news on Franmaq
LOL very carefully
andree, she's with family in Guam is all we know to date, and she's read babanon, and will resond when home.
fe6/30 is a scary thing. I saw what they call fe6s on TV... men that love to make their wives the biggest and fattest on the planet. So scary.
brb, going to set up nebuliser
thx dc
does anyone play weboggle?
I think fran's sister's funeral was today -- herin posted an email from fran yesterday
no, rolin, never heard of it. Should we check it out?
no rolin whats that about
that sounds right, jilli. Her sister was a teacher, this must be hard for her students, too.
sounds interesting rolin
mmm..im still deciding dc...its a timed game... and i get the feeling that the grids are restricted in their letter use...
restricted how?
i also dont touch type...so i think i lose time looking down and up again...(well thats my excuse anyway..lol)
oh, no diagonals, if i recall boggle correctly
i dunno..i may be wrong...but it seems the same letters turn up time and time again...
I have been playind quote puzzler, find i am really bad, hate being timed
I hate time limits. It takes away much of the relaxation for me.
snap andree -- I like a leisurely pace
yeah sprite...i think i end up more tense than i start...kinda defeats the purpose..
:D
the leisurely pace is a big attraction here for me.
never mind andree have another red lol agrees with rolin end up stiff neck lol
but yesterday the grid was finished so early..i had to do SOME thing...lol
I play Weboggle - its fun - same word building as Babble - I don't mind the 3 minutes time limit
me too sprite, wish I had not signed up, feel compelled to play but am so slow
I signed up for QP last year and played for a while, but it did not appeal to me enough to keep it up
i miss the chance to debrief after each grid
I LOVED the quote puzzle, btw
lol rolin! That too, of course :D :D
I wish there wuz an S here
with no mouse on the laptop I find moving the letters around so slow, my mind is going faster than my fingers
*mumbles something about spright sprite - night ni4 - fight fite fiter harharharrrrr*
me too jilli
yes, an S would make it easier, but it's such a common letter, it makes all easier
no mouse? First thing I bought for my laptop was a mouse, lol. I hate those touchpads and stuff.
brite lites are blinding, sprite
i like touchpads, but a mouse is nice
lite is valid too, I believe. Grrrrr.
that -ite usage for -ight is common here in The States, mostly on signage originally, now elsewhere too frequently
i am quite happy with the touch pad its just that with some of the qp games it makes me really slow, thats my excuse anyway
I agree about the too frequently... but NOT FOR BABBLE!
Did I yell? *looks around surprised, trying to find the one who did*
franlky, of all the oddball things, that one doesn't bother me.
ok, ok, got the hint now... will shut up about it ;)
i imagined you pounding your fist on the table at the end for emphasis. on was that a shoe?
a mouse, actually :D
:D LOL
now you will have to use your pad,lol
I once pounded the telephone horn on the table a couple of times to get my father-in-law to shut up and listen.
lots of bad usages here too -- like everyday meaning every day. Everyday is an adjective as in everyday clothes.
even I know that
yes, that's a good use for a telphone, sprite
of course that was before I learned that he never listened to anybody.
You probably know more about usage than most Americans, sprite.
maybe our fathers in law are related sprite?
LOLLL Andree!
I doubt it, Jellen, but I try my best!
like the 'mangtunens' for maintenance i saw on a sign in Mograntown, West Virginia a few weeks ago.
Changed my icon to clue fe 6/27. Easy, but I thought he was cute.
mine is amazing , he knows EVERYTHING ABOUT EVERYTHING
the spelling is phonetically correct for the local dialect, but looks funny.
holy mackinaw there, dc!
mangtunens? Jeezz, you are so smart to figure out the meaning at all! That is like this dutch add for a kerreven. Took me about 5 mintues to even realise it was about a caravan.
or at least he thinks he does, Andree?
Jellen: soooo cute!
i was being very sarcastic sprite
Jilli, it's a different world in the mountains.
yes, jellen, cute little guy
I know, Andree, I know, lol. They bring that about in us easily, don't they, the FIL.
heh, just got ur play on words there.
dc, as you say, it's phonetically correct for the area and fun to say out loud!
Having dated someone from northern lower peninsula Michigan, i learned about Macinac.
I was driving in Kentucky once and stopped for gas. The attendant said "Chick yer owl, mayum?"
LOLLLL jilli!
iron is prounced arn where i grew up.
i still don't say it with two syllables, and i have to spell it for people when i use it frequentnly.
that last adverb should be btween the i and the have.
Macinac? can I have a translation pls
It's a town and a bridge, but said as 'mackinaw'
I also was told the name of a town on North Carolina was Sath Heel and it turned out to be South Hill.
silent C, as the 2nd in in Connecticut.
Could someone please tell me if there is a C biggie? I am one short and I don't know what to try anymore.
Staunton, va, said stanton, botetourt, va, said botee tot, buena vista, va said as byuna vista.
ce7
morning everyone could i have the stats please and any biggies thankyou
it's the last ce
139 & 12*7
Hi Cool Girl
thankyou
hello, cool girl, how goes?
And then there's Puyallup, WA, pronounced Pyu-allup, much to my surprise. Stid can tell you other mixed-up names I can't remember
223
323
hi lynxxx
322?
hi cool girl
hi cool
h words todayi sprite are yousaying there are 322
12*7 = 84. Plus 139 = 223
139 words, cool girl, really.
LOL sprite
cool, cool it -- there are only 139 words, lol
cool girl: I am totally being stupid. I thought dc was giving me a clue. He just said 139 words, which is the total. And 12*7-letter words.
were i not so literal, methinks i'd find that annoying.
thanks just having a blonde moment dont worry sprite we all have them
sorry to be annoying, dc, really thought it was a clue I did not understand :)
a VERY blonde moment
no, not annoying, quite the contrary. :)
my coworker's phone has rung 6 times, mine not once, and i was logged in but for one of those calls.
mind you ive got an excuse cause ive only just got up
:D Ok, so I am looking for a Ce7. Any clues at all to help this blonde brain get a little more colour please?
one could ce7 that i am crazy
now don't rub it in, cool, don't rub it in... :P
hi all
thanks! That did it... should have seen that one earlier indeed.
hi doxy :)
hi doxy
totally frustrated right now
hello doxy
hi doxy
Hi Doxy
so nice to come here and see familiar names
gonna grab me a bit of breakfast, back in a few minutes
what's eating you, doxy?
hubby snoring so loud woke me right up
make him get a sleep test, a cpap will make your life better, doxy
it's a good thing you can't hear what I've been hearing
fe7/40 anyone?
I wish he would dc.
finally figured out the ce7 clue. thanks dc
fe7.40 a chemical compound - sounds somewhat similar to the fe animal
ah, ty lynxxx
snoring-->apnea is dangerous, I know, sadly.
isn't fica that omnipresent offic tree?
i have to learn to spell the american way, have just wasted ages with od4/5!
my hubby snores like hell. We sleep apart. Best decision of our lives... kept us together, LOL.
lol Andree
we did too, sprite
that's ficus, I think, dc
it's not too bad if I can sleep through it, but went to bed with bad headache, which I still have. the snoring just aggrevates me.
sprite, my MM says my CPAP makes less noise than i do!
what is a CPAP?
he has gone on camping trips (father/son outings) and was told the tent walls moved.
continuos positive air pressure
after some major dental work i snored for a few months, ex hubby never let up, complained to everyone etc, when i pointed out he had been keeping me awake for years he said thats different you are used to it, lol
I think I need to google that, lol, can't think what that might be
lol andree
it's a machine that is used at night, a mask over their mouth and nose to help keep the airway open
it's a machine which maintains a positive air pressure in the airway, keeps the soft tissue from obstructing
my mother and sister both have one.
many of my friends have them.
I wish my hubby had had one. His apnea contributed to his eventual heart failure
one has a warm humidfying one that has reverse pressure so she can breath out.
maybe when we go to Texas after the first of the year, my brother-in-law will give him an apnea test.
found it. I will let my husband read about it. I am worried he has apneu and does not get the rest he needs, even if he sleeps well.
here's hoping, doxy.
go for it, sprite
he helps run a sleep lab.
breathing out is very important... I see that is a setback with most models.
oh, right, sprite. FICA is the federal medical tax. silly me.
thanks guys, for this great tip :D
mony learn to breathe in nose, out mouth.
thanks for letting me vent for a few minutes.
many even.
venting is healthy, doxy
*hugs doxy* Hope your head is getting better soon!
and we're glad to listen.
I got to meet an author last night
which one?
oh, which?
If I try 'deter' once more, you may have to shoot me
And doxy - ear plugs. Life-savers for husbands when wives wear them.
went to a book signing for Obert Skye. Wrote Leven Thumps series.
did he read?
Good morning/evening all.
Good young adult book series. There are now 3 books out.
Oh dear, never heard of that series
don't know them, doxy! But great you got to meet the author.
Halloo Haz!
morning, haz.
I don't know if they are over in the UK yet.
ahhh, the hvac has kicked back in, and it's cooling down.
hello Haz!!!!
Haz: very true! Though my hubby snores too loud for them. I wear them sometimes to keep neighbourhood sounds out and that is great.
anybody else finding this hard or is it just me ?
ah, must be a relief, dc :)
I've really gotten into the young adult books lately. Just read the Twilight series. Loved them
sprite RESMED have a great CPAP, check out their site
hi haz
Hello all. I'd like a longer grid, please...
hi haz
not really hard, diem, so far, but I still have a lot left.
hey haz
this one makes up for its paucity of words, haz
thnx rmcc!
good morning all....8)
haz wash your mouth out!!!
hi hodag
morning hodag
My ear-plugs are nice and soft, advertised as the Best Ear-Plugs In The World. I may just about agree!
hi hodag
I'm lucky -- I have an ear which doesn't hear very well (big hole in eardrum) so if I sleep on my good ear I don't hear mosquitos and Cat's yells are muted.
no haz , i have not had time to finish a single grid this week and i think they have all been small
But it's two short grids in a row. Where's the concept of value for money?
ho hodag
Hi ho
well, it's not like we pay much, haz.
Maybe we need a system of choosing a grid of differing lengths. It would cause meltdown in the chat log, though.
hi dcseain, loredana, doxy,Andree& jill, how is every one today?
well hodag and you
Haz, I fear with a couple of real biggies in the last week, we cannot complain :P
love your icon, hodag!
hi ho!
Hello all who have come in while I've been puttering about.
hi jellen
It must be my age, sprite, those big grids have faded frm my memory already.
maybe the grids are short because we have paid so little for life, lol
chat's been lovely but I must go to bed -- night all!
Good night, jillibus, sleep well.
G'night, jilli
g'night jilli
*hugs jilli on her way to bed* Sweet dreams!

ou736- does it more than anyone else
ou7/36 - one who succeeds better than another.
ou7/36 = one who performs better
Or, ou7/36 - one who likes to be active in the garden.

pink should be back soon shes just moved and is waiting 4 her internet server to go back on she says hi to everyone though
I'm being picky today, sprite!
bye Doxy
that is only good, Haz! I love the corrections, they improve my english and I like that a lot.
*says hi back to pink*
TY CoolGirl - pls tell her we can't wait to see her back - but she has sent a terrific substitute in the meantime
cool tell pink to email me i did email her
That's fine, sprite, some people don't appreciate being corrected, but, as you say, if you want to improve, you need to know where the mistakes are.
yes, what sprite and lynxxx said :)
will do got to go to work now speak to you all later have a good day everyonex
ciao, cool girl
bye for now CoolGirl
I truly do appreciate, Haz. So don't hesitate if you feel like correcting me. I hope to be able one day to translate my own book into good and natural english!
bye cool!
Okay, sprite, I'll wave a flag to let you know if there's a problem, but truly, it's only occasionally that you slip up.
Bye, cool girl
thanks Haz :)
not too many slip ups from sprite
i hate re words
you guys cannot believe how much I learned from you
Should we be charging?
you should! But if I do not pay up, you would have to stop delivering... which would mean no more chatting. Hahaha.
really Sprite? I have just had a friend visit who is now living in Belgium and he was saying how well all the Dutch people spoke english
I think we'll just stick to the present arrangement!
and I think I do pay you back a litlle... sometimes, with helping of being an okay chat partner.
you do sprite
yes, the dutch are known for their english, sprite.
I thihk you play your part well enough, sprite.
we all speak english, lynxxx, but there is a big difference between school english and natural english.
I think I prefer school English!
you taught me so much about colloquial english, about idiom, etc.
I know what you mean, Haz! So do I, lol. But if I would translate a good Dutch text, it would sound stilted in English. I want to be able to make it sound "natural" to native speakers.
But if I translated a good Dutch text, it would sound.. or if I were to translate a good Dutch text.
well, you a have a crew of happy proofreaders at your ready, sprite.
I'd be delighted if you would, dc! And if you'd want to point out the parts that were awkward or unnatural to you, I'd owe you!
Hello. Sprite..I remember shopping in a supermarket in Netherlands, struggling to communicate in Dutch and a shop assistant who couldn't have been more than 15 saying to me "we will speak in English if that is more comfortable for you"....Now THAT's humbling!!
lol liz! I can see how that might make you feel, but I am sure he was only trying to be helpful.
lol Liz - Hi
Unlike here where i live, where if you don't speak Spanish, you can have trouble in shops sometimes.
Language teaching over here is in a sorry state because the educational authorities are so afraid to teach grammar in case it frightens people. They just make it more difficult to learn a language properly.
Absolutely. But it led me to ponder on the Brits' lack of language skills.
oh yes! No way to learn a language properly if you don't have a firm grasp of grammar.
i learned a ton about grammar from studying Spanish and Mandarin and American Sign Language.
omg the man signs as well... dc, you are a marvel!
liz, anglophones and francophones are notoriously monolingual in most of the world
even in much of Canada, which is obstensibly bilingual.
Despite all the protestations to the contrary, educational standards have dropped. There is no comparison between what I had to know at 18 and what my daughters were examined on at the same stage.
sorry guys and gals. just had 2 nebs in less than an hour, looks like a long night ahead. see you at the flip
may that you rest well, rmcc.
Bye rmc.
*hugs rmcc* Wish I could do something to help you, dear. Hope you will feel better soon :(
Bye, rmc. Take care.
Of course, dc, you only have to speak s l o w l y and LOUDLY to make these pesky foreigners understand LOL
LOL liz!
Or so my Gran thought!!
nite Rose - get all better quickly
oh, i ran into that problem years ago when i worked at a grocery with 95% Spanish-speaking clientele, and 95% English-speaking managemnt.
Taking a break.... back later.
i was the 1st bilingual manager there. Customer relations got better after that, in part because they promoted more spanish-speakers then.
ciao, haz
bfn Haz :)
Bye, Haz
deer
good for you, dc.
DAMN, sorry. Not a great word anyway!
do, a de4, a female de4...
venison is tasty, i agree, liz

tr 4/7, please
Dc i love that
I think that is perfectly sensible DC - I used to do it all the time
I did not mean that to be insulting, btw... hope you did not take it the wrong way
no, i was a bit surprised, as to me, that's a 'normal' thing to do.
but 15 years of helpdesk work was bound to further geekify my nerdiness, i suppose, and therefore distort my sense of normalcy.
I could never get the hang of the diary, so used email for that purpose
reed
how apropos, hydra :)
Oops!!!! My very first word today and I hit the wrong box.
I would not call it 'normal' but it certainly is a good way to have a computer as extension of one's brain.
at least it IS a valid one, hydra.
ty,hydra
got that one Hydra.
LOL
anyone have tr4/7? i'm so tired my eyes are crossing, but i only have 3 left!

Night sprite. Im off to clean the pc up
ciao, lady.
finished, at last.
Congrats DC !!
ty. 1h6m to go until i may leave.
How much longer are you on nite shift? its seems more than a bit boring
for some months yet. i do look forward to going back to days.
my peer on my shift/team has been on nights for 2 years.
must have a partner he needs to get away from !!!
partially because he knows what he's doing, partially because he doesn't always follow policy precisely.
or he likes the money? do you get penalty rates of some sort
no, he's getting married in January. She lives in Vancouver, BC, and he's been doing wedding planning.
no, we're both flat hourly rate regardless time or hours worked. A genrous rate, at that.
generouse enough to leave many of us wondering why this helpdesk pays so much
possibly because they had a high turnover of staff?
possibly. i know that i earn more than my primary supervisor.
!! does he/she know what 'their' staff are paid?
yes, it's a gov't contract, so it's public info
and she handles the billing; i'm a sub contractor to the primary, for whom she works.
well I'm glad you found babble anyway...it wil help fill in some of the quiet times...even reading books gets a bit boring. Nothing worse than a boring job - especially when you are tied to a desk. I think I always enjoyed a full-one job despite the pressures
sorry - that could read quite badly DC...hope you get my drift
well time to go, see ya all later .........8)>
bye Hodag

re
Sorry! babble expert sent my typing over.
hi all!
Hello, TO.
oooh people! I have a Dilemma
BBS - My Mum's just arrived.
Would anyone be very kind and chuck me a few cluez for the 7s plz?
do you think its better in a CV to have a reference that knows me currently at work (but the work isn't relevant to the application), or someone I worked with a few years ago (but their subject is more relevant)
the more relevant reference
can't have more than one?
i read an article that said "keep it short and sweet only put in relevant info"\
I thought so too, but I just wondered if it would look weird not having a reference from current job
have they only asked for 1 ref?
well, I need 2, but one is already sorted and wonderful and is utterly relevant and perfect. am trying to decide who to use for the other!
i would list the current job on the CV, but put a reference that was inline with the position you are interested in
hi everyone xxxx clue for af 5/16 please
but i think refs yo need more than one. think of it from the employer's side
most employers look for 2 referees and usually expect one of them to be from your current or most recent employer.
most employers look for 2 referees and usually expect one of them to be from your current or most recent employer.
Not before, anne
anne, not before
from an HR point of view the relevant one is good, but if I was lokking at the CV I would need more than a ref a few years old
just got it daaaaaaaaaaa
when applying by CV if space is tight its acceptable to put 'references avaialable on request'
exactly .... I'm torn! I have to put 2. They insist, and have a little box that needs filling in
yes that works too Rag
well, the perfect one, is that current or older?
thank you dorens x
how old is the perfect one ATA?
current and older, is researcher I've worked with for about 8 years now
if its older, then put in the current employer
Would anyone be very kind and chuck me a few cluez for the 7s plz?
oh, ata, what are you applying for?
I think that 8 years old is a bit too long ago
hi doren!
well, from 8 years ago to the present day, kallia
to be a tutor at the Open University
ah sorry...
yay fun :)
hi owl (didn't say hi cause I shouldn't be here, need to leave for work soon, and driving to Cambridge after, so should pack my overnight, etc. ) but babble beckons.....
well if they need two are they both work related or do they need a persnal one as well?
they want people to tutor their evolution courses
A lot xould have changed in eight years...I've always found that they want a reference who has worked with you in the past year or two.
sounds great ata.....
both work. meh, I'll put my current employer. And tell her what needs to be written LOL.
ah, LOL have a good trip, rough drive on a friday.
Would anyone be very kind and chuck me a few cluez for the 7s plz?
yes I would agree...BUT you do need to get the relevant info in of course
if I could, I would, MM!
fe- rodent-like
ferret
LOL that'll work Ata...write your own and get her to sign it :)
my research colleague will tell them everything they want to hear. the other one should be pretty umiportant
fe- took a boat
best of luck ata.. sounds like a great job (and by the way, I actually did write myself a smashing reference and had my principal sign it... she didn't want to be bothered)
yay fireworks thank you all for your help xxx
fe- took a boat a short distance
and my "boss" is a good friend, so yes, we usually get together and draft these things! (when I've done the same for her)
fo- someone who started a corporation or movement
Good luck ata :)
bye all! see you tonight
re- stopped working
re- the person who stopped working
thats all i have at the moment
ty lideola
np i hope they help
hi-by

supposed to go to the amusement park tomorrow, so i hope its a nice, warm, dry, sunny day!
oooh hopefully!
waiting for hubby to come home - he's been away for 2 weeks - feels much longer
hi all
do you get to know where he goes, or is it Top Secret?
Hi everyone
hi Zen!
and hi Toad
Well he's in the Navy so sometimes yes sometimes no. Mind you he usually tells me but I forget!!
Denny- mines in the army so I sympathize with you.. he's been gone 45 days now... only 13 months left. ugh
Hi Ata; i see that Denny likes sci-fi programmes - but she doesn't mention Firefly !!!!
I suppose he can't go *too* far in 2 weeks!
have you been watching more, Zen?
I'm not old enough ;-D
halfway there, time for breakfast! back in a bit, babblers!
Denny, my mother is the queen of malaprops. Whenever someone had a loved one away for an extended time, she would say. Absence makes the heart grow founder. hehe
not old enough!!
Absinthe makes the heart grow founder.
Ata - We're just building up to a long trip next year not sure if it's supposed to be a secret so don't tell anyone.... *6-7 months in the Baltics*
ooooooooooh wow!
well before then, you should watch Firefly ;)
denny- how long have you been married?
I'm excited; the postman has just delivered the whole Firefly season dvd - but practising delay of gratification for a minutes!!!
WOOHOOOO! Oh my, you're going to have a fun few days now :)
toad - just 2 years, but we have a 3 yr old boy and 1 yr old girl. A child out of wedlock and him a Catholic too!!!
Might make that a few hours and heighten the anticipation
Xenmed - you have far more restraint than I do!!
OOps sorry Zenmed - finger slipped!!
we've been married almost 3, with our first due on the 8th. military family sucks right now, since he's gone. :( oh well..
Well I have to restrain myself a little otherwise I will explode when I see Inara again!
what episode are you on?
Oh bless you toadette! Just read your profile. My hubby was in Iraq with the first flotilla of ships (the Ark Royal) when the invasion happened. We had only been together a few months but knew it was meant to be. He came home after 7 months and funnily enough I fell pregnant almost straight away!! Good luck with your little one - do you know what you are having?
a boy. Simon Scott... :) I'm excited. very impatient.
this is bryan's 3rd tour. he knows what to expect, as do I. We got married just barely a month before he left the last time.
Can't remember Ata; I can't bring myself to let the dvd player ove on from the latest still of Inara....
yay breakfast! hopefully todays is a little tastier than yesterdays "cardboard pancakes" !
Do you know when he will be home next?
good luck to you toadette. I love the name Simon, sounds regal to me. All ours start with A, expecting myself in Dec.
No, I jest of course; I'm not qite that fixated - I have seen the first 7 on rental dvd, Ata....
HI all, help with ce7 please
he was suppose to come home on R&R in Feb. But we recently were moved to a different section of the regiment and he was told he has to go on R&R (leave) earlier, so it'll be November. Then we have to go a whole year without each other. It would have been better in Feb, Because he could have interacted with Simon more, as Simon will be 4 months. But we will make it work as we have no other choice
peri - a doctor who signs your prescription will ce***** it
just wait till you get to episode 10, Zen .....
toad -- your icon is awesome -- its amazing how clear it is!
thanks Denny
that's German doctors for you. All my ultrasounds are that good. I've gotten one every visit, unlike in the states.
That's so true Toadette - I often get asked how I cope but you just put your head down and do it. Are you on a base? Hopefully there is a good support network there?
Why is that Ata - does Inara feature "prominently"?
no, I don't live on base, but we are moving to a new house in November, and then I will be in the base community (even though it will still be off post) right now we are renting from a German.
she has a particularly interesting client. and you see them quite prominently, yes ;)
since all of us are going through the same thing we are all getting pretty close
Marvellous, I look forward to seeing them prominently
oh you will LOL
but ep 8 is *fabulous*. just a really good episode
Glad you've got a good network. We don't live on base or anywhere near one and so don't really know anyone else in a similar position. Naval bases are not very good over here!! I found babble to be a god send int he early days!! Kept me sane
and when you've finished the series, watch the gag reel. and then watch "Serenity" and screech at the lack of continuity
Ata -- for a moment there, i thought you were referring to an EP8 in the grid! then i noticed there are no 8s...lol
and no P LOL
Oh by the way, did I tell you that if my newcoming cat is female, I am going to call it Inara - so I can stroke Inara all day and hear her purr.....
yes, that too. ;)
I was that way during our last deployment. since we had just gotten married, I stayed in Oregon while he commuted on weekends back from Ft. Lewis. That way I was around family was gone. But again, no one understood either
good idea Zen!
she really is gorgeous
hello everyone :)
Do you fancy her too Ata, then !!!!
hiya MrP!
hi and bye mrp
bbl
not as much as Jayne LOL but she *is* stunning
hi mrp! hi vixie pixie!
Good morning MrP
evening/morning all! everyone has finally gone off to sleep, so can play!
Are we having hitherto secret revelations coming out in Babble, Ata!!!!!!!!
Michael has been a *weekend husband* ever since I've know him! At the moment he is based in Plymouth but we live in Nottinghamshire. Before that he was in Bath and before that Scotland. He only has just over 4 years left to do. We've both agreed that whatever job he does when he leaves, he has to work away at least 2 nights a week - just so we don't kill each other!!!
Hi mrp - how are you?
Maybe I should just stick with Vera LOL
I totally understand Denny. My husband is a medic and wants to work in an ER, so we won't have that problem. H
doing ok thanks denny :)
Who is Vera - is that your girlfriend????????
This grid is frustrating. erg
you havent' met Vera yet?? *grin*
My problem is getting Michael to decide what he wants to do. He seems to think 4 years is a long time - until I tell him we've been together nearly 5!!!
men. so strange yet so interesting
Afraid not; is she nicer than Inara?
wait and see LOL
Mmm. I totally agree!!! Well, I am being beseiged by my LO so best go - good luck Toadette
Bye all - glad you're ok mrp
thanks. bye denny
Maybe she is Inara's interesting client then; goodness me I can't wait any longer, gonna have to watch it without further delay.....
who is Inara?
hey all :)
LOL :)
Inara is the Goddess Ambassador of Firefly, mrp
oh, firefly is so interesting!
MrP -- best not to ask questions one does not want the answer to...heh
hi TSM!
Hey there Mr Pres! ;)
Aother fan !
Must sharpen up the spelling !
yay for firefly
Afternoon all, Work managed to hijack me! Whats the grid like today?
Hell-ooo FMitch
Hey Zenmed Happy Fridays
hi fmitch :)
Don't believe in work FM so all days are happy
Hi MrP, urgh no rest for the wicked - phone BRB
Hello again.
has anyone added to the cookbook? in recipezaar.com? I hope you guys use it! it is a very good tool and wonderful for sharing
I just had some amazing coffee :) But I think I need another cup. Would anyone like to join me in a cup of coffee?
Hiya Haz
Hello Haz.
Afternoon HAz Zen - I forgot that all was tranquil in your world.
cream and sugar for me, please, TSM!
Hello Zen and Liz - and the busy FMitch.
TSM I would love a coffee!
I see Spangle is back to being lugubrious, haz
*hands Evan a cup of coffee with cream and sugar* Careful it's hot!
I like your whale! :)
ok I need an icon update - brb
She is - I like to show her many moods and how well she matches the kitchen floor.
Nice floor!!
Matching dogs to kitchen floors is this some American accessory fad?
If it's good enough for Paris, it's good enough for me. Oh wait, she wouldn't know where the kitchen was.
lol
hello everyone!
So can someone tell me if this is a nice or nasty grid please?
Nice joke too
Just arrived...hope it is a friendly grid
Hi Annie
hi, all...TOES...I haven't seen you in ages. how are you?
It's okay, FMitch, I did a bit this morning and am back to get the rest, hopefully.
Hello Annie - and Angelsong.
toesockmonkey, my goodness, how are you doing?
I might just chat for a while and find words later.
nite nite all... saturday is apon me! see you tomorrow :)
Ah, the old distraction technique. Well, it's not as if there's THAT many words to find.
But cannot tarry any longer, must away to episode 10; bfn all....
sweet dreams, mrp
Good night, mrpresident - sleep well!
Bye Zen - enjoy!
Bye Zen and MrP and Hi Angel and hurshy
could I have a clue for de 5/16 please
uh-oh, this is not good. 2-5-7-8
ouch
de5/16 - a contraction of a county in Northern Ireland.
de5/16 - rhymes with te5 - the cloth of nappiness.
can i have j help, i only have the one i was complaining about not being able to past tense earlier
thank you haz ;-)
You're welcome, Katie.
and were those two separate de5/16? i don't know my irish counties so well
Hi Ata Drove past HobbyCraft and managed not go in!
They were the same de5/16, hurshy.
WOW!
kay :)
I know, strong will or what!
prima facie, come on
je7/52 - almost the past tense, one vowel different
wow, thanks haz
thanks, Haz!!!
je6 - remove one of the double consonants of je7.
left col grey! ty!
thanks again, haz
You're welcome.
here's one for ata
whaaat?
name that proper noun: famous hobbit
hobbit! she's just hobbit! LOL
hi babblers everywhere ! - how are you ?
Hello montreal.
ok
icon is now updated
is that a picture of you TSM ?
no but close enough
look at my profile - there is a link on there to my myself if you want to see what i look like
well, no wonder you're a head model !
(The other female babblers pretend not to be jealous)
lol
I like to pretend I haven't see it Haz ;-)
I'm following katies path, If I can't seeit, it doesn't exist.
Yes, let's all pretend.
The fact that some of us show sunsets and dogs for our icons speaks volumes.
more lol...
i'm with you there Haz, as demonstrated by my kittens!!
what does a scorpion say about montreal?
not too tough on the eyes, are ya, TSM? ;)
i think TSMs modeling outdoes mine by a LONG shot...heh
it just says that some people are better looking then others...
I was going to say - EvaNadine is no stranger to the photographer's studio either.
hah, i dont think mine came nearly as naturally as TSMs though!
in my case, cameras are allergic to ME !
Still, those undressed shots stick long in the memory, Eva.
hey now, "undressed" is such a harsh term...hehe
i was TOTALLY wearing stuff!
Scantily clad?
Clothing challenged?
wearing jewels and stuff ??
hehe, thats a little better!
i prefer "pinup" ;)
See, now montreal is getting interested...
sure, when you make it sound like i was nekkid! lmao!
Most elegantly done a'la pin up style... oops you already ssaid that.
welllll... seeing the word "undressed" perked me up...
Weel known fact that certain babblers babble au naturelle
REALLY ???!!!
You poor innocent, montreal. You didn't know, did you?
C'mon EvaN, dig out the pics for us:) LOL not That woke montreal up
had no clue hazel...
ok, so if the grid accepts UN6 (the person who will UN4 something) and it has RE4, why doesnt it accept RE6 (the person who will RE4 something)? not that im trying to change the subject. ;)
Someone who will re4 something is just either interfering or obsessive. And we see your schemes a mile off, Eva.
*rocks back and forth on toes and heels, whistling* i dunno whatcha mean, haz!
we see your scheme even from here in montreal eva...
Yea, but we don't see the lovely pics!
scheme? what scheme? *inches toward the door, nonchalantly*
am with you a thousand % FM...
Shhh montreal, you are scaring EvaN
ata dear - in "name that proper noun", the proper nouns can be found in the grid.
Eva's fellow-workers are probably phoning up someone for help. Anybody whistling, backing out while rocking on their heels needs sorting out.
nah, my cube-neighbor is a brit + we all know you lot are a tad off anyway...
Surprised she has fallen over herself. *Waves at fellow Brit*
c'mon, not WORKING babblers au naturel !!
hi all, de7 please
this babbler is most certainly NOT au naturel!
hi peri, dont have it yet
seven more f's... hmmm
I suppose life models could conceivably be working and babbling.
but but hobbit is the importantest hobbit!
de7 - last French, or add a consonant to the thickness of your pantyhose.
ok but i thought you would enjoy getting to name the hobbit in the grid, lol
always to chilly in the office to wear nothing more than my bday suit...
thakns Haz
*thanks*
You're welcome, peri.
bbl
tx hazel for the de7
You're welcome, montreal.
well yes, frodo is a good hobbit too ;)
*attempts to sneak out while conversation has turned away from her*
i only knew Bilbo...
ok, let me see about these f's... not foehn, not fiacre...
Yes, I suppose Eva was tempted to be clothing challenged when her AC wasn't working at home.
Not sure my brain is programmed to find words on a Friday afternoon.
more than you know, haz -- dont remind me! heh
Haz with the winter months looming nude babbling is going to be replaced with "Guess How Many Layers I am Wearing"?
I hear you, FMitch!
same here with our "harsh canadian winters"...
I open the bid at 4 layers, and remind myself that I should have turned the heating on ages ago, it went off at 7.30 and it is now 3.15!!
GHMLIAW!
*bless you!*
LOL still making do w/out heating here Katie.
But you just know someone will cheat and put ALL their clothes on.
lol eva
"dieu vous bénisse" hursh
like joey in that episode of friends?
you know, they have black tie events and white tie events, i think they should have redtie events
Exactly, Eva.
haz - trust me with three double wardrobes and 18 draws I couldn't put ALL my clothing on :-)
hi all ac 6 please
That was funny EvaN
It's probably one way to avoid paying extra for luggage. Wear pretty much as much as you can get on your back.
mag -- more sore
"i'm chandler. could i BE wearin any more clothes?"
hi mag... dont have that one yet
"maybe if i wasn't goin... COMMANDO"
ac6 - being more full of pain than another.
"i better not do any... LUNGES"
tx eva and haz for the ac5
Haz just reminded me, must go and see if we can book extra legroom for the holiday, be back in a mo
You're welcome, montreal.
thanks, so simple
Fireworks. What an amazing video.
in case anyone needs it, 1800flowers.com is doing free shipping for orders placed today -- you just have to enter this code at checkout: FREE2U
Sorry! I am at work and stepped away - let me read what I missed
wtg liz !
Congratulations, liz.
Congrats Liz
oooh, interesting eva. do they have to SHIP today too or just be placed today? my friend's birthday is next weds.
i think just placed today
TY. I'm away to drool over my Venice guide book (going there in a couple of weeks, lucky me)
Haz, Evan - you too are rather flattering! thanks! :)
I never really thought about it... we are who we are... let the rest of them deal lol ;)
And montreal is VERY impressed.
Congrats Liz
So, bye for now.
aaahhh... you missed my flattery then TSM...
liz - I'm sure you'll love Venice, but perhaps you've been before?
bye liz !
bye liz
Been many years ago, Haz. Loved it.
The first time you go it is magical as suddenly all those wonderful paintings you seen in the past come to light and take on meaning.
crap I am looking now montreat lol
It's just fabulous, isn't it?
brb
And you'll be there when most of the tourists aren't. which is a bonus. Oh dear, that old jealousy thing is back!
tooooo many tourists there
Indeed it is. Should be even better this time as I've got a lovely husband to share with this time.
Ouch Ata just burst my bubble.
And he's never been there.
LOL guuuuuuys!
or should that be my babble bubble?
TSM -- i think we (moreso you!) have montreal quite intrigued...hah
It'll be great, liz.
I am bright red over here stop!
lol
pop!
Byeeee.
Wheeeee
Good morning/afternoon, Haz, FMitch, EvaN, TSM, lizmac and all! What an interesting chatline today! :-)
Bye liz!
Hello Scarlet - nice to see you!
'Bye, liz!
hiya scarlet!
Hey Scarlet!
We try to maintain standards Scarlet lol
And seeing you is equally nice, Haz! Howdy, ToeSock!
montreaaaaaal *tickle tickle*
Oh, FMitch, I never had a doubt! :-)
i think TSMs beauty has stunned him mute!
I think he went for a brisk walk round the block :)
cold shower. :)
i'm stunned, true... just back - have to catch up on the chat...
I could make a Firefly quote there, but all the F/fly fans have gone
What's with people doing other things and not dedicating themselves to babble? Work is no excuse, you know.
any fy words?
LOl, Haz... I squeeze laundry and housework between Babble sessions!
intrigued, yes; walk around the block, yes; cold shower... not yet...
I try my best HAz but my clients don't understand.
No fy words.
No hurshy no fys
thanks
I know, FMitch, it's a quandary for you.
I wax poetic whenever faced with beauty: it reminds me of an old George Harrison song as it goes something like this: And because of all their tears, their eyes can't hope to see, the beauty
fity cent? no?
beauty that surrounds them...
hi everyone. i thought tudor was a style of house
It's capitalised though, debjed.
Good morning, deb.
so did i deb... but i guess it's capitalised...
I guess doric is capitalized too....
same as Doric, right? isnt that a type of column?
yes eva, greek i believe
HI all, back for a little bit
any of you have myspace you should add me :)
Yes, capitalised, an order of architecture.
Hi, Peri! :-)
Then you can actually see my whole page
Then you can actually see my whole page LOL
huzzah, found fe7's to finish off my bottom F, am now at the dreaded 14 ... dun dun dun
no, even though it says i am married - Im single! lol :) I just do that to keep the wild and crazies away ;)
Scarlet, you have mail!
Like montreal?
hay easy hazel...
Only teasing. You can't be all bad, you're a babbler.
Excellent!! :-) Will look as soon as I make some inroads on this grid... I want rodeo and several other phantoms today... but... not so easy!
do5/14 is eluding me
homer simpson, mmm, do5/14
do5/14 - shortened version of fatty bun type thing.
oh, allright hazel..
So elementary, Haz. Thank you!
You're welcome!
mmm I have banana bread. I made it myself! *very proud*
what's the u breakdown, i have a ut and 3 un so far
good job ata! :)
Well done, Atalante! And you have left it where the pets can't sample?
thank you for the simpson clue
*cozies up to Ata*
I found that too Scarlet but once you fight through the barrier of phantoms it's pretty fast.
lol
There are 5 un words.
hobbit's already had a mouthful LOL
Oh dear!
ty haz
and undressed isn't one of them ... lol
but I did *give* it to her :) She's just small enough not to be able to get to the countertops, luckily
your icon is kinda creepy montreal :)
Thank you, FMitch... I shall continue at mach speed.. not!
waiiiiit a a second - what is this undressing talke *raises a brow* Hmmmmm? ;)
THat's not so bad, Atalante.
you really think so deb ?
i think YOU started it, TSM!
can Spangle? I think springers can and cockers can't
Oh, you haven't heard about Eva's little problem in that direction.
lol montreal, passes cup of tea with bromide to montreal.
yes TSM and someone said there wer 5 UN words...
problem? me? nah...
? Now I am intrigued, Haz and FMitch...
Spangle hasn't ever tried to climb up on the kitchen counter. And I don't think she could spring that high.
drinking tea with bromide...
yep. but if you like it that's wonderful
also lucky then :) my sister's springer can ...
Is that why they are called "Springers"?
i like it but, if you find it creepy, i'll change it deb
Oh, Scarlet, she's SUCH a worry to us. It all started with photographs for her boyfriend for Valentine's Day and after that there was no stopping her. AC problems in the summer just made matters worse.
If she gets to work clothed at all, it's a mercy.
which bromide? "a stitch in time saves nine"?
rut roh -- i smell an intervention in the air!
and not so much a s vest in sight!! I ask you!
lol haz
Oh, yes... I saw Eva's rather "sensual" photograph... but oh my! Goose bumps do take the edge off...
it's scandalous i tell you !!!
No use playing 'Guess how many layers I am wearing' with Eva.
Haz, we once had a siamese cat and a dachsie who collabirated in stealing food from the kitchen counter. The way they did it was a hoot.
PLENTY come wintertime! we are not creatures fond of a chill!
Old 45 records are practically useless for purposes of decency.
Hello hetty! Teamwork amongst animals for food?
There there montreal, the bromide will settle you down.
LOL... the game should be, "Which Frederick's of Hollywood design is she really wearing behind the cyber window?"
Very funny, hetty, and good morning to you!
eyelids drooping... muscles slackening...
*pouts, bottom lip out as far as possible*
montreal probably doesn't know about your tiara and evening dress either, Scarlet.
I try to keep a low profile, Haz...
bother, i am so hopeless at the ends of grids
Oops, Haz, think I might have dosed monreal a little too much.
one little photo shoot, and now im the Babble Trollup
Did you not read the directions on the label?
Yes. The dog couldn't spring up as the cat coulkd. So he went and "told" the cat there was a turkey carcase on the counter (I was on the phone and saw it all from the hallway) so the cat sprang and bapped it onto the floor where the dog waited.
Poor montreal... quick! The smelling salts! We don't often entertain men with the vapors!
trollop
Hardly, Eva... I said "sensual" not slutty! :-)
I gave him bromide Scarlet.
what TIARA !, what evening dress !! - (while waking up from deep slumber)
Great artists have always suffered for their art, Eva.
Poor creature, FM... he will prevail!
refresh for a new pic :)
Oh. That explains me, then. Not enough sufferring. Bllgh.
but im not the artist, just the muse! heh
Poor montreal - you have so much to learn about our habits.
LOL, EvaN!
yea hazel, am like a babe in the woods with you guys...
Is Hobbit hiding?
Yeah, we guyses are relentless sometimes, montreal...LOL
we dont get many men-folk round these here parts, Mr. Montreal...
she's sitting under my desk, head on my white trousers, eyeing the empty plate from banan bread
I don't think that make up we put on montreal when he was asleep suits him, wrong colours.
will change my icon for deb - brb
Still, it's very brave of you to chat with us. Most men seem to steer clear and find words, silently, remorselessly.
I DO like the Boy George look, though, FMitch!
And hoping for more where that came from, Atalante?
thats because TSM was gone for so long...with her beauty gracing us once again, then men are SURE to pour back in!
Wonder how NancyBoy is?
Unless they are not interested in stunning women, Eva
now, now FMitch -- NB wears ladies JEANS, not ladies makeup!
I think NancyBoy would love some cosmetics' hints...
When I need to be a stunning woman, I use a frying pan.
lol vic
Nancy loves eyeliner... his words!
oh yes. except she's not getting any more!
when i want to be stunning, i call up my photographer friend...HAH
He has his own make up LOL Vi
LOL, Vicuna... good morning to you and to Takuma!
And I don't refer to my cooking.
you must be a knockout!
Takuma has arrived! Another man!
is this better ?
is this better ?
LOL, TS!
icon has been changed but...
Heh heh! It's just that I'm too shy and retiring to show off my charms like Eva does.
I bet Anj turns up
it feels like an Anj kinda day. ;)
Vi, we all have "charming assets" to be proud of :)
uh oh -- is it girls' morning on babble?
wish Torgone would come back
just got back from a little work. you don't have to change your icon for me silly. Funny story Hetty
is anj ANOTHER stunning beauty ?
anj is a boy, lol
Takuma -- TSM is showing off her beauty today. ;)
No, Takuma, and not a whiff of chocolate conversation in sight!
aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh...
Lola thinks Anj is a stunning beauty!
Lola probably thinks so
ROFL
No, Takuma - we're just saying how nice it is to chat with men on babble. I wish more would speak up.
we are shy and reserved for the most part... ahemmm...
bbl
Zen doesn't know what fun he is missing either.
See you soon, peri!
you must like bugs ;0
Zen's busy ogling Inara
ok
I am up to date on the chat now lol
I am up to date on the chat now
i do deb...
:-)
Maybe we should all change our little people/purses to blue for a male appreciation day.
oh, whilst im thinking about it, i just wanted to give everyone who doesnt already know a heads-up that i wont be babbling next week -- ill be on holiday. :)
heh
Where will you be, Eva?
doing anything special Eva
Enjoy your time off, EvaN!
going to Nags Head. yay beach!
going to a naturist camp?
nice, eva
topless beach?
great weather there these days
no, NOT a nu4 beach! ill be with my family. :P
mmmm the beach sounds like the perfect place right now
:)
Hello all- how many words today?
139, jay
LOL Nags Head is a pub in the next town that is not the most salubrious place to go.
ohhh... the vapors again ...
139
you could go to a naturist beach with your family!
We don't know if your family is not equally, er... "unfettered"... EvaN! LOL
Wasn't the Nags Head the pub in Only Fools as well?
thanks!
there are pictures of my family in my flickr account -- trust me, we do NOT wish to see them "unfettered!"
After all that talk I didn't have the nu4. We can blame the grid for todays chat then
LOL, montreal... he's fading, FMitch!
most naturists are people you generally wouldn't want to see unfettered!
FM -- dont forget the MORE NU4 word, NU6!
Hahhahhaa, EvaN!
Hands brandy to montreal
Oh bother. Duty calls.
yes fading a bit... but yes also, blame the grid for the caht subjects...
OOOHH I'M REVIVING !!!
Excellent, montreal...
Yes, blame the grid, I don't think I brought up the subject at all.
lol -- you guys are in rare form this morning!
why are you fading? not feeling well? or did i miss a joke
Nothing to do with us Haz, nothing at all.
Innocent, always innocent.
i blame it all on FMitch -- everythings her fault, right?
now where is that tiara ? i seem to have lost it somewhere ... (brain still needing adjusting)...
Absolutely.
always
Not after September EvaN, I pass the baton to someone else so be careful!!
Scarlet is wearing her tiara. It inspires her and helps keep up standards.
good thing its still September then!
deb, haz's bromide had almost put me to sleep ... but brandy brought me back...
*places finger on nose, as to indicate that she will NOT be handed the baton for october!*
To whom do you think you will pass the baton, FMitch. Emphasis on THINK.
Phone BRB
However, Haz, when my latest picture was taken, I handed it off... my daughter took this one, and loaded it... I do look a bit "squishy", but I promised to post one!
FM can pass the baton ... we'll blame her for that too
Ah, blame the phone. An old ploy.
montreal - a new buggie now? have a thing for them?
As we say here 'It's yourself, Scarlet!' How nice to see you!
Thank you, Haz!
i like 'em allright but have already changed it to a unicorn...
wha? no 'foon'? what do they make with the leftover parts from sporks, then?
You don't look your age at all.
LOL, TS!
Well, we are what we are, Haz.
ok I refreshed and see the unicorn now :) good times
Hey takuma
lol scarlet ;)
:-). TSM
ce7,52?
i'm missing an o from the upper o... got the oo, got the od, got 4 ou... what else?
howdy tsm
There's another ou to be found, hurshy.
I'm no help, hurshy... I only have 42 words found...
haz used a wooooooooooooord
asdcv';'';';'''/...;[]
ce7 - present a paper to indicate achievement, standard.
and scarlet too!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaah!
Yerrrch...
Haz, there's room for two... bread and water for us, it seems!
Oh! a little cat wanted to participate in the chat
all my ou's are 5 letters... (?)
thanks Haz. Anyone reading The Meaning of Everything for the book club?
you can have some of my banana bread in there
LOL just reading back. T'was BF on the phone. I will cogitate on the 'who to pas the baton to' and propose some names for your deliberation.
ou7 is there as well.
you can propose all you want ....
It doesn't mean a thing.
i thought i tried that!
no, i tried un-that
You are too kind, Atalante!
which worked too
bur re- didn't
I'll ask Evanout to put a ballot on babblecast :)
An ou7 is the sort of person who just can't help going that extra mile - with a knife sticking in their back.
choice 1: FM, choice 2: FM
hmmmmm....
No third choice, Ata?
nope
We could have proportional representation. It wouldn't change a thing. FM to blame.
after all of this, i have to take a rest... and possibly a shower (not the warm kind)... bye for now and thx for an interesting "morning" chat
Byemontreal - thanks for talking to us!
Goodbye, montreal.
Bye montreal
grr, these un's are frusterating
it has been my PLEASURE...
bye montreal. What does having the baton entail?
I stubbed my toe a few moments ago... FMitch, WHY are you always in the way?
bye-bye montreal!
bye all
And she will keep leaving the back door open. Fmitch, why can't you shut the door?
And the lights were left on in the parlor area... FM... you must learn to be more responsible!
I'm off for a bit. Hopefully by the time I return, FM will have got rid of the ridiculous baton notion thing!
ou7? please? *bat eyelids and looks hopeful!*
flippin heck,
LOL, Ata... see you soon
1
We'll try to talk some sense into her. Bye Atalante!
broad shoulders and all that but
ou7 *sings* anything you can do, i can do better...
Hell, fax machine playing up and client trying to fax stuff. Back in a bit
TY!
See you soon, FMitch!
Later, FMitch. (She's even messed up the fax machine)
woohoo... home early from work! ...afternoon all :)
Hi all -just gone down the grid and now 25 left - little hope of finding them!
Hello sherb, and Sandie. Welcome to the weekend, sherb.
hi guys
hiya deb
Hello Sandie and sherb... eary quit! How nice.
*early*
thanks Haz and Scarlet :)
what did I miss? I am at work so I am busy off and on lol
Back, might have known prob was at the other end.
Hospital job right now that is - for those of you that have seen my job listing LOL ;)
Sure... we've heard THAT before, FM!
It's always the "other guy"...
how many ou's are there i have 4 so far
so, what is it, TSM -- you knock men out with your modeling, then save them with the hospital work?
*sigh* I remember the days when I had friends in babbleland :(
Five OU words, ruru
hi TSM :) ...haven't seen you on here for ages...
argh........
When was that, FM? tee-hee....
you've got a good memory ;)
LMAO! Evan :)
Sherb! Hey hun! :) how are ya?
Oh ouch ! and hello sherb
I actually only knock them out with a TKO from boxing... after that I use the nursing skill to save them LOL
why are they picking on you FM?
I have 2 ou 5's 1 ou 7 and 1 ou 5/14 what am I missing?
*Hugs to poor FMitch* You do have broad shoulders... LOL
You had friends but then we realised who was to blame.
hello FM :) ...I'm good TSM... and you?
It's my job debjed :)
Haz told me that everything that goes wrong is FMitch's fault, and it's true...
nm found it
I remember Haz before the found the cooking sherry, such a lovely lady then.
so the person who has the baton takes the blame?
I am peachy thank you for asking
Well, who left the cooking sherry sitting about?
wha? isn't 'nuttery' another term for mental hospital?
Anj did Haz
this dictionary is very disappointing...
Hoh, boy oh-boyo!~ The "Sherry Chronicles"...
No, I think not. Poor man, not even here to defend himself. He'll have something to say when he hears about this.
You have to be old and wise (well old) and have broad shoulders to carry the baton and burdons of babble lands as the are many a varied.
Takumo I think you have a very valid question there.
In this corner, we have Haz the Magnificent, equipped with empty sherry bottles, and in the other corner we have FMitch, fully loaded with a broken fax machine... Ladies, let's make this a clean fight... there are children in the audience!
Who needs SOAP operas when there's Babble Chat?
So, if the sherry bottles are empty, whose fault is that?
FMITCH'S!!!
Yours :)
cool icon, JB
*ponders the idea of a mass pillow fight like old times*
EXACTLY!!!
Hello, JBs.

Day off, nice to sleep in, didn't turn on the TV, but what did I see anyway?

Olde English is what ye doth speak.
LOL
i have all 4 ni words but the tile stats are showing I only have 3. Anyone know why that would be happening?
change the a to an e and you have the fe5.20
now i get the "he st**** the night" :)
refresh your screen autumn
that would be what ye doth speaketh, me thinkeths
Sometimes you have to refresh, autumn.
hy
it does that to me sometimes Autumn...I just refresh and then I usually find it hadn't taken on one of the words. I just reenter it and it normally works out ok.
sorry deb, my clueing abilities are not up to par with most of uou guys...
you*
Love your icon Montreal
i had already refreshed and reentered (got that you already did it message). I will keep trying
you should have seen his first two icons today lizark
tx liz - had a scorpion this morning but some people found it creepy....
why? what'd I miss?
i'm not a good cluer either.
Montreal, do you live in Montreal?
insects :P
I have a friend on a forum I'm a member of who has a scorpion icon
yes scrabbler, on the south shore of the city
ewwwww insects ewwwwww
what is wrong with insects ??
i think spideys and other arachnids are cool, it's mice and snakes that are icky
nothing if they keep their distance from me lol
creepy... i told you that earlier silly!
I love snakes :)
i love mice!
i love snakes !
I bet the snakes love the mice too lol
you both can have them. i'll take your spiders
oh no your snakes eat my mice!!
I think I prefer to keep to my dog and cats though :)
Once, several yrs ago, a group of us went to the Canadian Open Tennis Tournament in Toronto (we are from the Buffalo, NY area) and on our way home I noted that Lake Ontario was on our right and a sign ahead said Quebec. That is when I realized that we were lost. We could have stayed with you except I didn't know you then.
maybe next time scrabbler ?
theres logic for you Scrabbler
Ewww, spiders and snakes. I like mice and had one for a pet a few yrs ago. We called him Stuart Little.
i think scrabs you need a gps if you go to toronto again.
how cute, scrabbler!! I like to draw mice and squirrels
my cats bring me plenty of mice Scrabbler
tree rats! i have a plethora of squirrels in my backyard. they are so much fun to watch
we dont have any squirrels here :( not much wildlife at all really
the sqirrels here seem to taunt the neighbourhood cats... and get away with it !
we have black squirrels and grey squirrels here, and in some parts red squirrels. the black is much smaller than the grey but he's a tough little dude.
the only wild mammals we have here are rats, mice, bats and hedgehogs
Well, before I go on a trip I study a map and now there is Mapquest. But I was a passenger in a van full of women that were, and still are, directionally-challenged.
oh and bunnies
yeah, our squirrels tease all the critters here. cats. dogs, deer...
Mostly we have the little red squirrels--they are so cute. We have some grey ones and infrequently the black-morphs.
no bunnies, i think the fox, coyotes and other predators get them.
the red squirrels are endangered in Britain - is it the same over there too Scrab?
The squirrels like the buffet that I provide in the squirrel-proof feeders.
we have raccoons here too, who are being quite the bother of late.
No, Liz--lots of the red ones here in the woods.
I love raccoons
The raccoons are quite friendly and fearless--they come up on my front porch every night and I talk to them through the door or window. They just stare at me.
really Scrab? Isnt that strange? In Jersey (neighbouring island to me) they are breeding reds to protect them from dying out
i think it depends on the area as to whether a species is endangered. When i lived in Arizona the red squirrel was a protected species
awww I'm jealous scrabbler. When I was little I loved raccoons so much my parents spent an entire summer trying to find me a cuddly toy one!
It is great to be back in Babble Land, put cleaning and chores on hold, and get nothing productive done except chatter and find words.
hi all
Liz, we can send you some red squirrels.
i just took about a roll of film of my squirrels opening up the pumpkins i have. what a mess they make. very cute. I get to see a lot of wildlife come here to the wildlife clinic. coons, possums, squirrels, bunnies, birds.....
Hi doxy!
I havent even been finding words!
hi doxy !
Hi doxy
hi Doxy
Debjed you should put them on flickr for us to see
Deb--do you run a wildlife clinic?
It is funny to see the squirrels inside pumpkins.
my backyard is a nature conservancy, and it's great to see all the critters down there.
Cool, dawger.
no. work at the univ. of Illinois vet teaching hospital - small animal clinic. wildlife ward run by student volunteers.
My fantasy, when I retire, is to run a Rabbit Rescue Service, then find foster parents and adoptive parents.
great job Deb!
that sounds like fun deb
Neat, Deb.
it really is neat, except the neighbors on the other side of the slough, don't understand that their dogs are not allowed to chase the deer or harrase the birds.
Some people are idiots, dawger.
Deb, that sounds like a wonderful job!
I wouldnt dream of letting my dog chase deer! good grief!
scrabs, that's why we call that part of the "hood" dogpatch.
Frodo isnt accepted anymore. Does that mean hes failed?
Funny how this game has attracted so many animal lovers!
well, it is illegal, and if we were really mean nasty people, we could shoot the dogs, but that would totally devistate me. I'd rather shoot their owners
absolutely lbd! its the owners to blame not the poor dogs who've not been taught any better
I have to walk to the mail center now. I made a sign to post, with used snowboarding equipment for sale. It is stuff that my nephews have outgrown.
Hi dachef
If we ever had any snow over here I'd make you an offer Scrab! LOL
have a nice, safe walk Scrabs
Frodo lives!
frodo lives, just on in the grid
See you later, alligators!
take care scrabb
also, "oorich" isnt accepted. my first name is Rich, and my girlfriend says that all the time.
I'm off to get stuck into my latest book for a while. See you all later *waves*
very funny Dachef
bye scrabbler, bye lizsark
bye liz
like "oorich, you havent the dishes again", or "oorich, did you forget to buy milk?"
bye to those leaving
lol dachef
at that point, i go straight past using first names and begin using "blockhead" and numbskull"
or maybe she says that when "he st*** the night"
lol deb !
"ooblockhead you havent done the dishes again" sounds familiar. Or "ooblockhead, you're not playing that bloody stupid game again are you?"
glad you got it, that was for you montreal
as long as she doesn't forget who she's talking to.
i know deb... and tx for the inside...
must go work out. see you all later.
by dawg ! - i must go myself - BBL
good for you ibd - haven't been to the gym in a week.
bye montreal
*lbd
cu lat8r
*poof*
four left - all re's
Scrabbler, you still here?
good morning all happy babbling - back to finish what i didnt get done last nite
and hi all :)
I think you've just missed her :(
hey all
hi sprite and kiwi
hi cathy
yeah, she appears to be still online, but I fear she is afk
ah well, it will keep :)
poo :(
Has Atalante been possessed by Evanonut?
no, Ata is only possessed by Silverclaw and Holly
But you can understand my concern?
Scrabbler, if you check back in: http://img128.imageshack.us/img128 /7497/hamsterjj4.png
Hi sprite, Ata, Haz, everyone
Hello Zen - just looking in!
re5,16?
hi Zen :)
Me too, but btw maestro, do you know the tr6 ?
tr6 - begin with three, end with the type of engines that power some planes.
hi zen, sprite, Haz
thanks Haz
You're welcome.
Ata, don't you agree that Haz's spaniel is incontrovertably lugubrious ?
By Nut?? why???!! *looks round suspiciously*
ahem . . .
oh definitely! except when she's not
Because of what you said, Atalante. Three letters, two of them vowels.
And look who's here!
is that a nutty thing?? ooo didnt realise. is a me thing too
my nut radar beeped
Is that a nutty thing? Where have you been, Atalante?
on planet poo, obviously!
Does it beep every time you're mentioned? Full name or just part?
re5,16?
Atalante was happily ensconsed in Firefly land
planet poo? I know dog poo, kid poo, cat poo... but I have to draw a line somewhere, right?
*looks around for a nice steaming pile* - ah poo, all i have is old dried up piles.
haz, I think you need to introduce Spangle to Zen to show him that she does actually show some enthusiasm every now and then
to measure something again or resize
LOL
re5/16 - try something on for size again?
we watch where we walk here, especially in large animal clinic - lots of horse poo
Dear oh dear, is that what girls talk about ?
seen Inara and her - um - client yet, Zen?
I think I should put happy Spangle up again.
thank you!
I think you should
"girls" as in "all of them", Zed? :)
I have.
Spangle is looking quite depressed at the moment; what have you been doing to her, Haz ?
Click again, Zen.
beating her twice a day, probably
I'm just looking back at the chat log and have come across the news that you're to get a cat, Zen. You'll be sure to tell us ALL about her?
No Ata, not yet; i am practising the delayment of gratification
wow, I'm impressed
yay for happy spangle!
And I can confirm that there has been no explosion yet, so he is a very controlled man.
It is true Haz, if it is male, it will be Oedipuss; and if female then I'm calling her Inara
Whatever the sex, it will no doubt be a Cat of Glory to cause wonderment.
oh yes, i'm sure
Yes, unless the Pigeon of Disaster gets to it
*gasp*
... and all who see it will be sore amazed and marvel at its spendour! I wish you wouldnt mention the CoG as I am compelled to stand up and pay homage to the darn thing every time!
No self-respecting cat would be worried by a pigeon, surely?
Every time, FMitch? No wonder you're Disgruntled of Ascot.
LOL wasn't that a great example?
Normally so, but the Pigeon of Disaster is not a normal pigeon, haz
Unbelievable - if I had seen it I'd have been Disgusted of Ballymena.
Not a normal pigeon. What powers do the feathers conceal, then?
better get those Disgruntled of Ascot's in while you're still there!
doooooooom!
Disgruntled of Ascot sounds so classy, doesn't it?
LOL true I'll be Disgruntled of no fixed abode!
you need to move to Tunbridge Wells
Ergh that reminds me there is racing this weekend.
Annoyed of Tooting doesn't carry the same cachet.
You will have to consult Edward Monkton for the answer....
I should have known dear Edward would have something to say...
woohooooo firewords for me
Hey Groovy! and congrats
hey FM
and tyk
hrmmm england are beating tonga - is that a good thing?
congrats kiwi
tyk - i really should get dressed and have some breakfast and do some house work lol
see ya all later at flip those who make it
Good to see Spangle and Hobbit back in the iconic positions again.
Hobbit was quite desperate for some banana bread
Strangely I can't think of anything to retort back with that :)
Yes, they know their place.
I made it! I cooked! *still ever so proud* and I cooked something edible!
Move over Nigella.
Culinary congrats then.
Hi all just popping in to show grandson Jack and granddaughter Jenna how nice you all are...
it was a nigella recipe LOL
Hello caitlyn. Yes, Jack, we're lovely!
Evening caitly and Hi to Jenna and Jack
Oh, Atalante - did you look suitably pleased with yourself when you ate it?
And Jenna as well!
I certainly did!
Here is a question for everyone: if Z is the least frequent letter in English and E is the most common; how many E's are there for one Z ?
a lot, eazily
Sorry forgot to tell you one of my other granddaughters Tammy (11) did a 8 mile walk for charity today .
500 e to every z.
We're not doing your homework for you, work it out yourself :)
ut5 please
Well done to Tammy! Did you have to cough up some money, caitlyn?
magzel - latin plural for womb.
lol FM. goodmorning all
Yes Hax loads!!
That 's the privilege of being a grandmother, caitlyn.
Not homework; just an interesting game FM
Sorry HAZ!!!
Morning lynxxx
do you reckon we could get people to sponsor us on a babble-a-thon?
thanks haz
Hello lynxxx! Is Australia wakening up?
clue for fi7/40 please
People might sponsor me NOT to do babble.
not sure but I am
fi7/40 -being of a more combustible nature than another.
And not quite as many as 500, Haz
Well, good morning, lynxxx.
356 then.
How did you come to that number?
42
tammy here caitlyns grand daughter it was very hard doing the 8 mile walk
It just came to me, Zen.
ty Haz
Tammy, I'm sure you were tired towards the end, but well done for finishing!
8 miles is a long way Tammy, well done.
re 6/27 please
ty
Does that mean she is correct Zen?
Hi Tammy - well done! who were you raising money for?
re6/27 - follow a colour with in's opposite.
Well, not right either Haz and it is not the answer to the universe either Ata - but here is a clue - it is in between the two
Ata, you do the maths. Is it exactly between the two or more random?
239
re6.27 - the early early flight to another city - color & organ
Hi lynxxx thank you we were raising money for a chidrens hospice
ou 7/36
Getting close Ata
thanks for the re clue
170
There is 189 E's for every Z on average
Caitlyn & Tammy - Thats a very special cause - well done again
Except when Zsa Zsa Gabor is in town.
lol
ou7.36 the person that just has to be better than you
thanks
thanks lynxxx

bye peri
ha. found an fe 7....
Prepare for more....
**happy dance, happy dance** My internet service returned!
YAY SCRABBLER!!!!
wanna hear about stidkid's cast?
Yes, I am worried about his navicular fracture, or was it the scaphoid bone?
scaphoid. well the first cast went on this morning, a "long arm cast" that immobilizes from above the elbow to pretty much the tip of the thumb.
I am really hoping that the more obvious fracturing on today's Xrays wasn't due to his teachers letting him run amok at camp this week.
either way, it is now immune to further damage (we hope)
We had a kid this week with a scaphoid fracture
Haz - how many more F7s? - I have 5 but still missing a 7
Another orthopedic adventure for Stidkid and Stidparents
and we are trying to figure out what we can change in the diet so he gets more calcium. he won't drink the soy milk, and the fancy orange juices are expensive. We bought a calcium citrate with D, zinc, mag etc
There are three fe7 words and a fi7
Is he having much pain, Stid?
LOL yep. hoping it won't lead to the orthopedic surgeon....
Then there's fo7 as well.
can you get chocolate soy milk - much nicer!
not particularly Scrabbler, I did give him some ibuprofen this morning -- getting the wrist manipulated and stuff made it hurt again.
Yes, calcium with D, same as me for being postmenopausal
TY guess its another letter then
good idea atalante! I'll see what we can drum up.
have to go shopping tonight anyway.
Whie Wave Silk milk is yummy, esp the chocolate
or make hot chocolate with soy milk - that's *really* nice
*White Wave Silk
help with the ce 7, plz?
yep, that's our main refrigerator tenant... LOL creamer, ice "cream" etc.
Gosh, dern, dern is not a werd.
ce7 - to declare something in offical fashion
they ce7 you insane after prolonged bouts of babble
it would be so much easier if I weren't so allergic to cow's milk, but there you go. Either he takes supplements or I take up residence in the ER...
oh man, missing all these great clues! *dives back in*
lynxxx - do you have the grammatically doubtful ti7?
I understood the ce 7 clue!
I hear wonderful things about sheep and goats milk, but never tried them. Are they a nono for the allergic?
thx. i wasn't looking in a loop =(
No! TY I'll look for it
Good ideas, Shawnee
they are not really great for me shawnee, though I can breathe after them they give me eczema... so we do give the boys goat cheese regularly these days.
Got it - after that good description - TY Haz
You're welcome, lynxxx. It pained me to type it in.
are all the fe 7 similar? I have one that looks like an iron-bearing rock...
Were you allergic as a kid, Stid, or has this allergy stuff developed during adulthood?
lol Haz!
Hello ladies, how are you all today?
One is a description of a critter, Stid (fe7)
I think I was always allergic Scrabbler... but they definitely got worse (read dangerous) as an adult
hi krista!
Hi Krista
Hello Krista - all well here.
Stid the 3 fe's have same first 4 letters but eman totally different things
ooh! got that one haz!
Hi Krista
thanks lynxxxx, *looking for last fe*
got it! *happy dance*
Can't imagine life w/o milk, 8 gals + a week round here.
halfway! *VERY happy dance*
Whoa, Shawnee!
How many people are in your home, Shawnee?
that's a lot of cows... (moo)
Go go Stid!
that fe sounds made up...I'd recommend rice milk, but it's awful..I mix it in with regular milk, though, and no one notices
hubby, me, 10 yr old son and 1 yr old daughter. And adding one in Dec
rice milk can be granular. almond milk is sinfully good in puddings... *smile*
the last FI is driving me nuts pls help me
Another babble baby!
Congrats, Shawnee--I know so many pregnant women.
of course now I get it!
fi5/20 - descriptive of combustible temper, as described in fi7/40, being the comparative...
our mom's group is a continuous circle of birth joy
thnx!
good clues again haz!
It often happens, phandmd.
we've got nut and soy allergies, here, and have to avoid dairy because of daughter's EE
why dont you have a pic, shawnee?
Thanks, stidmama.
EE? my empathies Krista, it is so hard to work around dietary stuff.
what's EE?
hm. if that c were a k, then "dorcier" would worc....
Eosinophilic esophagitis
some sort of reflux?
yep
*zips off to look up new term*
Atalante - how are you doing?
wow. sounds painful.
de 7, plz
de 7, plz
well ... if I paid some attention to the grid, I'd probably be doing better LOL
working on that this weekend, ata. my oldest daughter is the cmputer whiz with downloads and such
de7 - last in French, in English insert a consonant into the thickness measurement of panty-hose, for example.
sorry, i am stutering today
yay :)
misdiagnosed as reflux..daughter was misdiagnosed for 9 years. it's (usually) caused by food allergies, but non-iGe mediated ones (don't cause immediate reaction)..we **think** her trigger is dairy...very painful..esophagus erodes
thanks haz! worked first time again.
Good to know, stidmama!
i don't get it, haz. sorry, must be the stopped up head....
the problem with allergies is figuring out which triggers cause which symptoms... and when sometimes they are "additive" I can eat squash now that I no longer eat things from cows, but when I was little pumpkin pie made my mouth ulcerate. that was back when no one thought to test for a dairy problem.
I have so many almost words: oofier, nooder (as in more nakedy), frich....
de7/32 - The density measurement could also be a word for one who says 'I'm innocent' - he would be a de****. Insert a consonant into third position.
well, I need one word to justify hitting the list... the H please?
change the nooder a bit, stid!
LOL thanks atalante... just saw it!
yes, Stid, i know what you mean. I feel like we grew up in the dark ages of allergies! Kielen is tough because she had so many false positives on RAST test..showed she was allergic to lettuce, potatoes...so we have to go more by "real world" reactions..
Okay, time to do something different. Good night all!
keep seeing Frodo
Goodnight, Haz. Take care.
sweet dreams haz! thanks again!
night night!
I keep seeing "Fodor" -- the travel guide publisher...
the hi4.6 Piper of Hamelin !!??
you are lucky to have figured it out krista, let your daughter know she is not the only one...
goodnite Haz
thanks lynxxx *eating fish*
fodor and frodo :)
If one can re**, why can't one be a re**er??
good ? krista!
***still on phone with Mom***
I agree Krista - especially as you can have un6.24 !
I will, thanks Stid. It can be lonely for a kid with food allergies.
*rolls ocular organs and sighs* Moms/Mamas/Mothers do like to talk to their little girls though...
Oh, how true, Lynxxx! (and didn't have that one yet)
thanks for that lynxxx!
ah, Krista, but one can be an ou** (etc) instead of the re**er!
I have to be vigilant and know when to respond/reply.
so happy to see you, stid!
{{{{JB}}}} *makes MJCL*
hi all de7 still fuzzy!! please help
YYYYAAAAAYYYYYY, mmmmmm I really needed that today, thanks, stid!
joanne, the french call the situpon the de****.... add a short hump letter after the third...
Go figure, JB! (and thanks for that one...just started grid)

we's doing inventory at work and i hate it!!!

blah. be sure you look under ALL the propane tanks joanne.... *wicked grin*
me, I'm working PT hours, and there's a glimmer of hope for him! but no details yet
Scrabbler, the best way to get my mother to call is to play Babble...never fails!
je6 je + swampy grass. for the 7 double the second consonant
Krista, is that your phone ringing, or mine?
Now she is telling me about a neighbor's dental problems....she seems to think this interests me.
well at least there's something JB... I have a sort of a part-time job offer. Someone at Mother's school wants me to apply for an aide position. Not sure what to think about it.
thanks for those lynxxx
lol
Love the "frich" word, stid - could be a useful substitute for the real swear word(s)
TY for the je6 and 7.
yeah. like you're a dentist. *sigh* oh well...
okay, I know I am being dense, the second CR 5/12 please? the last one in the list.
Better than "oops", though!
Hee heee..must be yours this time, JB
wahhhhhh.. stid
What Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby had as their style of singing, stid
i don't get that one?? still
I have that one joanne, need the one after...
NVM, think bing crosby for the last cr 5/12
okay, C tile is gray!
yep, just saw your clue JB... *rubs eyeballs* getting ti5 I think!
I have a date in 5 minutes, so I'm outta here for now, with lots of extra MJCL energy, courtesy of stid! bbl
enjoy JB! {{{hugs}}}}
Bye, JB!
Joanne - do you know the de6 word for te thickness of stockings? just put another conson in the third place

ty lyn
I know, Joanne. AS much as my Mom makes me crazy sometimes, I WILL miss her when she is gone. (And I better not go before her as she will go crazy from that.)
clue for the re 6/18 pls
yw Joanne
Maybe you are triply fun to talk to.
It is only 5:45 PM here, so there is time for one or two more calls from Mom.
i was working 7 days a week and mom would always try to call
when you come to the end of your working life you re6.18
when she finally got hold of me she would say can never get u always working
Off to work on Halloween costumes..I can never get started too early around here..thanks for the chat, all.

my phantom tonite: rodeo
My phantom = derriere
indeed
de+ hook + hump + 3rd and 2nd vowel + hook= de7
Sorry about the 3rd letter in my clues! *slinks off to penalty box. No food for me. I've begun the countdown to the bowel prep for Monday. Clear liquids only. I have a glass of white wine!
Yes! That too! Has Mom called again? :)
rodeo here, too, krista. and terrier
tx dawg
hey scrab, that was MY phantom. lol
Hi, Krista.
Hi Mool and anyone else i missed
OOh, I have that coming up, too, Jac. Have you had it done before?
Oh, poor, Jacula! The bowel prep is a near-death experience. I had to do it before one of my abdominal surgeries. I was puking from drinking the toxic potion.
Krista - Unfortunately, yes, so I know what to expect. This will be my third time.
Krista, mom has not called again, but it is only 8:15 PM. Three calls in one day is not her record.
my mom swore she would never have a colonoscopy again! she was really ill with the prep
Hi, Krista and herin.
oh, I was referring to colonoscopy prep..I never had trouble w/surgery prep
they should put you out for the prep as well as the procedure! that would be the only humane way to do it
Don't have to take the Picolax (sounds like Pickaxe, doesn't it?) until Sunday. Clear foods like soup and jelly and clear drinks allowed today/tomorrow (haven't gone to bed yet!) and just clear fluids and 2 doses of Pickaxe on Sunday.
I'm worried about the colonoscopy prep..the sheer quantity they expect you to drink is insane
Poor Jac.
Oh nos it seems our hot water tank may have blown out with the strong winds
Once my friend went to the store to buy her dad his bowel prep kit, and she also bought the industrial sized package of toilet paper. The checkout clerk said, "Looks like someone will be having fun tonight."
Monday, I will wake up with a thumping headache, bad breath and an even worse temper. No tea before I go... just a sip of water if I'm lucky. Oh, what fun!
ti 7/32 ?
Uh, oh, Lady.
I had a doctor call it a "party pack" once. I liked that.
ti7= more ti5/12
moo, more TI 5/12
A bathroom party
tx guys
big sparkly stuff
Krista - LOL! The hospital's here send you the bowel blaster potion but not the loo rolls! Yes, colonoscopy is on the cards.
I have a kettle to boil water if i have to and baby wipes. Oh that reminds me Baby bum wipes are good for bathroom parties.
yep...where is Nut..she always says we talk about food and poop a lot
I am done--TY all for clues.
Congrats, Scrabbler!!
Don't worry---it's a piece of cake, Jac, mom, and all, considering what you are preventing.
YAY, scrabs
I shall tell them at the QED (Quick, Easy Diagnosis) Clinic (or Bum Clinic as the staff call it) about the term 'party pack' I know they'll like it.
wtg scrabbler and moo!
I get the headache, too, jac--no coffee....
back till the next time nick's hungry!
Yay, moo
ok, now for these F words....
Yahoo Moo!
whoooo hooooo SCRABBLER and MOO
Yay, moo! Too subtle an announcement for me!!
The F words made me use F words.
hi Pam hi Feather
right im off to try and have a shower.
be it cold :(
Bowel blaster..that's great, too! They told me to use diaper cream before the fun begins. Saturday Night Live (comedy show) used to do a fake ad for Colon Blow high fiber cereal.
feather - If you wait until Monday morning I'll give you as many f words as you like! LOL
no fun, herin!
"night herin
My icon's a clue for two fe words: fe6/27 and fe7/48
Yes, Krista, I love that Colon Blow commercial--hilarious!
i remember that SNL skit. lol
umm...what conversation did i just walk into?
No fun but we are off to enjoy Grand Final Football day and no people at the shops
I hope the procedure finds nothing, Jac and Krista
Bowel prep talk, Featherbee
you know, Feather, either food or poop. Thanks, Pam. :)
mmm, yummy
Thanks, pam. It's precautionary in my case as bowel cancer runs in the family and me and Mum were part of a research programme.
I've gotta go do homework now. Happy Babbling, everyone!
by ejellen
Happy, Jellen, and good night.
Right off bye
bye herin
herin, Patrick said to tell you he "support the Bombers"
Featherbee, we had another thunderstorm with hail about 90 min ago. You should get this one in a few hours. Be careful.
by jellen !
It's all over my family, too, so much so that I am on a 3-year plan
I do hope 'fecal' isn't in Sunday or Monday's grid. LOL
supports
lol, jac
Jac, you are so funny.
Don't know if I'll bbe Babbling Sunday, unless I can set up an extension lead for the laptop into the bathroom. :(
we had another one between 6:30-7 too, mini hail! wow, what a system moving through
Yes, do that, Jacula, and we will distract you from the blowouts.
Sure some of that translates to rain here in Massachusetts, feather!
LOL, scrabs
bwahaha, found more than half the Fs now, am ready for the list!
hey, mr. baggins is in the grid
My last colonoscopy was accompanied by an endoscopy---all that fun in one day...
In my family, too, Pam..brother died of colon cancer and sister is in remission. They had it on their father's side though..I have different father.
I hope "rectum" isn't in the grid the next 2 days either. That will make Jacula scream.
Krista - you should hear the staff in the clinic. After he'd finished with me last time, Dion, my surgeon, clapped his hands together and said, 'Well, folks, it's been a bum morning! Anyone for lunch? How about a sausage sandwich?'
Went in both ends..did they meet in the middle somewhere, Pam? Ouch.
sad, krista...
pam - Oh no! Invaded from all directions.:(
Jac--what a doc, LOL
Krista - LOL
Yuck, Pam. I just had my annual exam last week and the doc reminded me that when I am 50 I get to have a colonoscopy.
LOL, krista
(LOL re the tubes, not the family news!)
ce7 please?
Oh, thanks, Scrabbs. No, rectum and anus are banned from the ext 2 grids.
Well, I started at 40, my brother had strangulated polyps in his mid-20's so I should have started at 30... dad and grandmother had colon cancer...
I guess they need to have a sense of humor to deal with that all day, Jac.
I am going to have a sleep study next week, to look for apnea problems. I hope I can actually sleep there.
The way I see it, talking about the procedure, destigmatizing itt, so others have it, will help people get the tests they need to save their lives
Good luck, scrabs!
ce7 is to make something official feather
I've got a cpap machine, Scrabb. I love it! I am not tired in the am anymore. True, Pam!
I am going to walk in with my pillow, blankie, ear plugs, pajamas, etc
oooh, good word, ty
my dad is an oncologist. they had a demo with a giant colon you could walk thru outside of his office. he was on tv discussing the imp of testing.
you need an eye pillow scrabbler! that's what i use when i have trouble falling asleep
the chicks in my sleep lab NEVER STOPPED TALKING..I had to end up taking a sedative
Krista - exactly, re the humour. You should hear my 2 friends who are undertakers (funeral directors). They're like Laurel and Hardy out of work situations.
what's a CPA machine krista ?
You do, Krista? I am told that I snore loudly. I wake up all night, toss and turn, and am always tired.
all the while walking through the giant colon with the reporter. lol
CPAP*
I found using a tempurpedic pillow helped my neck and tmj (also have a mouthguard) and now when I sleep--I am up a lot--it is sounder...
CPAP==continuous positive airway pressure, to keep the airway open and prevent snoring and apnea (pauses in breathing) that disrupts good restful sleep
how about the de7 please?
Pam - if I hadn't made the connection of all the family deaths from colon cancer on my Mum's side whilst researching family history and then thought about a few bodily complaints she'd told me and so forced her to get checked out... she wouldn't be here now.
ahh, tx scrabbler
She had the last laugh in that they grabbed ME too.
de7 is last in french feather
GOOD FOR YOU, JAC!!!! Caps intended as praise!
Funny, I don't snore that much, Scrabb. I went to pulmonologist for totally different problem, and he had me tested for apnea. I hold my breath a lot and breathe too shallowly. You will feel so much better.
Great medical detective work, Jac!!
working on it montreal....
starts with actor Bruce **** feather
Well, Krista, I will not be surprised if the study shows apnea, but I am more afraid if it does not. I want a fix to my fatigue.
I think my other half would benefit from a CPAP machine. (Wish the word didn't look so much like 'crap' though.)
LOL, Jacula.....you are a junior gastroenterologist, aren't you.
dangit, i do know french, and can't think of it, or that actor. willis or lee are the only bruces coming to mind.
Pam - yes, I'm glad I made her go. My best friend's Mum didn't go (through embarrassment) and she's no longer with us.
also actress Laura **** feather
ohh, i know her!
think butt with an 'N'
aha, got oit!
Oh, no, Lynnet, Jacula doesn't want to hear the word "butt".
took french from 7th grade through college, lived in plattsburgh, ny and visited montreal frequently....shame on me!
lynne - the word 'butt' is not allowed for the next 2 grids, thank you very much! (Read back on the log. LOL)
or anything in that area...
There's no room for embarrassment,is there! I always say to "check your pride at the door" when you go to the dr. or hospital
See, that just angers me. The shame.
I agree, krista
off to the penalty box...
Krista and Pam - too right!
Life is precious.
Too precious to be 'precious' about.
well said jacula
LOL, lynnet.
when your sense of humor is gone, there's not much left...
i second that lynnet !
fe7/44 please?
(am i the only one doing the grid right now? hehe)
Well, folks, I am going to vegetate in front of the TV for a bit. I am on-call so no sense in going to bed early even though i am ready for bed.
Pam, I just realized your pink disc is the earth!
Don't know what time My Love's going to be home. He went to work about 4.30am (Friday) morning. Came home about 2pm same day and went to bed, having had a double shift unexpectedly put upon him. Went back out to work for midnight.
Ciao, scrabs
past tense of being taken by boat from one place to another feather
by scrabs !
ah, ty. had the two above it
Krista--stid made it for me--I used to use a peace sign on the planet...
which have nothing to do with it...nevermind! got it anyway
Have a good evening, Scrabbs.
bye scrabs
I'll stop being a bummer and a party pooper now and give some clues... ;-)
*groan* jac!
I'll take a clue for that one, Feather..it's the one big f-word I need
F--I--R--E--W--O--R--K--S !
weasel like? that one?
night scrabs
yay montreal!
YOUPPII MONTREAL
how about the fe7/40?

Metal word, feather.
THANK YOU ALL ! AND YES, YOOOUUUPPPPPEEEE DAWG !
iron-related, Feather
lol, ty dawg, that's my kinda clue
I was thinking you mean bill me at first...LOL!
you must be getting close feather ?
nope, i zoomed right in on what she meant immediately
30 left. the F words are really slowing me down
LOL, Krista. I was just wondering where lbd's fangs were gonna sink into feather.
fi7/40 please?
seems like all i'm asking for are f7s now
more fi5/20 feather
I never got a clue for fe 7/44. Please?
fi7/40 = more fierce or flame-filled. Of temper, maybe?
oh sorry krista, i clued but for the wrong one. fe7/44, the boat fe***** the cars over the water
clued it at 7:43 krista
got it jac, ty
fe7/44 - taken across the Mersey (as Gerry & The Pacemakers once were).
ahhh yessss, i remembre that song...
so sorry, montreal..chat going so fast I missed it..ty very much
ok, done with F, yay
It's a song that sticks in your head, montreal. I'll be humming it for hours now!
Frankie Goes to Hollywood covered that song in the 80's
np - you're right about the chat speed, hard to keep up...
Krista - yes, they did.
"useless trivia from Krista"
i thought the song was by Herman's Hermits for the longest time...
When Cilla Black sings it she makes it sound like something furry is crossing the Liverpudlian river.:)
No, Herman's Hermits didn't want any milk 'cos their love had gone away. LOL
a tiger ?, a panda bear ?
gah, i keep trying not to ask, but keep coming against walls here
montreal - no, it's just the way Liverpudlians pronounce the river boat fe word.
I love a Liverpool accent(when I can understand it)
are you referring to "Yesterday's gone' jacula ?
It's a Scouse accent, Krista. (Slang for 'Liverpudlian' here.)
brb
absolutely right about the pronounciation bit...
Hi
I re-dressed my icon. Did it work?
Yes, husband just corrected me, too. :)
hi praise
No, montreal. The song was called 'No Milk Today'. 'Yesterday's Gone' was dne by Fleetwood Mac, for one.
nicely done inge !
Yep, inge
ah okay jacula
Hi Praise
OK, Gute Nacht, Babblers. I hae been reading the chat for some time and enjoyed your conversations. Now off to bed.
night inge
sweet dreams inge !
Guten nacht, inge.
auf wiedersehen inge !
Schlafen sie gern or something like that.
ok, 12 left, all ones i was stuck on

bonsoir tout le monde, i must go too !
Is this a German class I am leaving? Tschüss!

Au revoir,Montreal
Bonne nuit, montreal. Dormez bien.

lala salama! (Swahili for 'sleep well') *grins*
really gone now "poof "
je+ double consonant + double vowel + 4th letter
dumb word, ty
hi all
Swahili sounds so pretty.
yup feather, but it's enable.
hi orniith
phantom: rectify
Hi Ornith
still cant get fi7, i have tried everything with fiery, please help
am i going to kick myself for missing the top ou5/14?
Bahati njema (thank you), Krista. :)
look at the other r, crpw, the top on, not the bottom one
i want doof, doric and fiche
uh oh squeaks from the baby
doric is a proper noun, feather. Didn't stop me trying it earlier, though.
alrighty, have to get ready for my favorite show, Most Haunted (speaking of Scouses)..thanks for the chat and clues
Also tried 'fiche', but the e isn't located correctly for that.
bye krista
and doof is just plain fun.
ou5/14 is what happened to a Republican senator recently
bye krista
'Bye, Krista.
nope, one above it please
Goodnight Doofs :)
Any outstanding clues now? I mean those not yet answered.
lol krista
oh, thought you meant one coming from the top o, feather, no idea yet
no tudor or doric...bias against architecture...
the top ou5/14
Inge2 - I tried tudor, too - just on the offchance.
ah, thanks anyway!
I guess they both count as names
ou5/14 (1st) = to go one better than.
ty!
y/w
5 left now
Can I stop talking in Swahili now? Lovely though the language is.
te6/21?
no 'tude, either ...
te6/21 = te + to perform an act again.
thanks jacula, weird one
got it, ty
y/w
is that the same as te4/4 past?
jwr = no.
te6,18, either one? Thanks!
done!
sorry, that was a ti and its companion
yeah feather!
grats feather!
Well done, feather.
Brookie - the te6/18's rhyme with the fe (weasel like creature) word. They are rings on a horse's harness.
Also sounds like thingeys atop a castle. (tu's)
whoooo hoooooo FEATHER
thanks jacula!
ok, who saw the video and knows anything about waves...are those normal sized? they're huge!
*Thingeys??* I studied architecture with cstle and church being the main part. Why on earth am I saying 'thingies'?
lol at jac
feather - if you mean the lickety video then, no. I don't use the list. I do catch up on the videos later.
cus it works tks jac
some guy on some honking huge waves!
y/w, diem. LOL
hi everyone
Hi, saph.
hi saphyre
hi saphy
feather - it must be a great adrenalin rush if you have the nerve to surf those waves.
I think I'm lagging ughh
In fact, if you got the Guinness advert over there, I think the music that accompanied the surfing was perfect for the feeling.
the guy is Laird Hamilton, i'm reading about him on wikipedia now
brb hopefully
saph - you are falling behind or you are stuff to wrap water pipes in?
Is tit the Tahitian wave video? I've got that in my favourites.
Hamilton is now widely regarded as the best of the best at big wave surfing, regularly surfing swells of 35 feet (11 m) tall, and moving at speeds in excess of 30 miles an hour (50 km/h) and successfully riding other waves of up to 70 feet high (22 m), at up to 50 mph (80 km/h).
not sure jac
oof, made halfway and no blank tiles, but have a headache. see you later guys
night orinth
Okay, Ornith. Good luck for later and I hope the headache goes.
back, I think
night ornith, hope you feel better in the morning
nite Ornith
re6,24?
re6/24 = colour + not 'in'.
Sorry - color. You're from USA. LOL
tks again jacula
thanks jacula! I understood the first time :-)
and... fireworks!
night!
congrats
Which reminds me, re US spellings - we don't spell do5/14 (yummy cake) like that over here in UK. It would be do8/112 here.
I've seen it spelled both ways in the US. Confuses me to no end.
Sometimes there ARE advantages to spelling things the hard way. LOL.
Such as?
More points for longer words.
hi all
Ah, true!
hi timhorton
Seriously though, Brookie, unless you are an ext-Pat, I can't really say. The spellings I grew up with don't seem hard to me. Same for you, I imagine?
Hi, tim.
No, they're not hard. If you're taught to spell a certain way, you accept it as is without question.
like the ni4/4
who ever said it wasa spelled that way
It's spelled that way by those who don't know the "official" spelling, I guess!
hi all!
Yes, Brookie. Untold damage was done over here in the mid-1970s when the education people decided that phonetic spelling was the way to go to teach kids in the first instance. Unfortunately, like ducklings who view the first thing they see as their mother/the right thing, a generation of kids who couldn't spell was spawned. The idea was that they wuld do the words phonetically and then go on to learn the 'proper' spellings. Yeah, right!
hi to
And after a while of misspelling, it becomes an acceptable alternative.
Hi TO.
it has become a word now and it was never speeled that way before
Yes, Jac, the phonetic spelling phenomenon occured in the US around the same time, and it flopped too.
Brookie - Yes. quite so. However, it does mean that the English language in all its forms, stays alive and fresh.
the new scrabble word dictionary edition just added 1000 words, most of which appear to be accepted abbreviated or phoenetic spellings
I've baulked over my 50 years' of life at many of the chances to the language, but, sitting back now, I think they're not always a bad thing.
I do hope txt spk dsnt take over though! c u l8r.
It is interesting seeing language evolve. There have been lots of changes in grammar, especially. For instance, I rarely hear the subjunctive tense used anymore.
and older words just disappear
LOL. Wondered what on earth that last bit meant first time someone texted it to me.
See you!
Oh, never mind, I was taking you literally!
lol
The thing is, the new spellings -- or Jac
still dont know jac
'hello, all!
did I lose that in the middle? sorry. the new spellings are just that -- they're not new words; thus, not fresh thoughts that carry language forward.
So, any help with the last FO 5 and 6?
sorry FO 5 and 7
See you later, Brookie. That's what it means. Before texting and mobiles that weren't the size of house bricks emerged, I had a Southern neighbour (that from down London way) who used to say 'See you later'. I used to think he was intended to return same day. That phrase had me confused for ages! LOL
lost and fo***, then add to it for the 7-letter one
got them!
how about "take care" ? and the demise of the word thank you
gads, I missed the upward connection
New spellings or Jac?? That's a bit harsh on me, isn't it? *Rushes off sobbing inconsolably.*
true, TO
:) and the DE 5 14 and DE 6?
Any other clues before I re6,18 for the evening?
thanks brookie
de - think of the white cubes with black dots you play with for board games, then add "e"
i mean does ANYOE under the age of 50 say thank you anymore? it's been replaced by "uh-huh"
and I got them
:)
THANK YOU! :) I say it all the time, TO
Thank you, TO! The challenge is teaching my 5-year-old that.
now it is ty TO
*blows nose loudly to draw attention to self. Must I now become Jaculasaurus?8 grins
Heading out now. Have a nice evening, and THANK YOU for the wonderful chat and clues, as always! :-)
aw, jacs!
poof
night brookie
Incidentally, for anyone who is confused about grammar and punctuation, there are a few video links in my bio to help with that.
Sorry for the impoliteness in not announcing myself. I usually duck in when I can, meaning to stay just to find a word or two, and then get caught up. My rule is to not look at any clues or monkey until I'm at least halfway but then I glance over and there you all are ... scrolling past with the tidbits of your lives and lively minds. I guess the Stats and all will only be available for two weeks so I'll say thanks and g'bye. I'll know you're there even if I can't see you.
But.. (oh dear, my English teacher told me never to start a sentence with 'but'!) ... do go and watch the Tesco ad first.
sorry I just disappeared! My connection has been dropping on a regular basis and I FINALLY got Comcast to admit it was an issue with the darn line! Now they have to come out Monday to fix it, but for now, I drop and come back all the time. Getting a month free out of it, tho.
you wills till see us
jwr - I hope you will go 'pro'. It's a one-time fee and not that expensive.
how much is it now?
but on that note, does anyone need any clues before I head out?
even without going pro the chat is still here i am pretty sure
yes you can still chat
Good evening, everyone.
To - dunno. Will sign in as my other half and check. BRB
Uh oh.
hi jade
hi jade
jwr, I have to say I was truly touched by your message and hope you do go "pro". This is a wonderful community. We have podcasts and if you need help going pro, I can help.
Hi timehorton!
*timhorton
T.O.!!!
Damn! Can't remember his log in details.
still cant get fi7-40, please help
good weekend all :)
jacs, don't fret
hi TS
it will keep
Hi, Jade. Still haven't listened to the casts yet. Must put the laptop on later and do so.
Jacula, the latest podcast I did my best not to laugh.
hi timmie
hi stud
So I was told, Jade. LOL
hi TO
fere
:) oh i so enjoy you all...
the feeling is mutual TS
It won't matter how much you laugh, Jade, when I get this damned new pc sorted out. Might fire up old pc later. Old pc is much more user friendly.
thanks always, both J's. The "uh oh" was a dashed hope that I would be broken of the babblehabbit before it attached me permanently (or the other way round -- which would be the parasite???) I will check into the one-time fee; thought it would be a regular thing.
i was of ftoday and went downtown forseveral hours...such fun
:)
Penalty box for TO!
did you sleep
Jade! TS, TO, Tim, uhm and everyone else!
hey dawgy dawg!
hi lb

Only water, clear soup and clear fluids in there, since I am doing bowel prep for Monday's ordeal. I have white wine! You can share it.
oh yeah jwr, once you've stumbled in here you're done for :)
hi dawg :)
dawger!
i heard you giggling last podcast Jade
jwr, it's still only $14.95 for a lifetime membership.
dawger, did you hear a giggle or did you hear the guffaw?
lbd - don't spoil it for me; I haven't heard it yet.
Jade - incidentally, where's the 'download' bit gone from that now? Seems if I want to download 21 I have to join a site?
Jade, I heard both, but the guffaw had me worried, i thought you might be choking or something.
does anyone else think this grid is a little toughie?
hmmmm
i do
lemme see jacula.
but i always do
Oh *hel....gurgle...blubblub....blorkkk*
i was thinking that but i think it is just my mindframe tonight
it wasn't all that bad of a grid, a few oddball words that we haven't seen before.
heh- was that you being sucked in?
see we understand you here :)
http://babblecast.podbean.com/
TO - this grid was a little easy, you know those sort of girls and guys, lol... until the crucial moment... then things got a tad tougher. Not impossible, though.
you ok timmie?
welp, must head out for now. see you all tomorrow. Good luck with the grid.
i am worried it's really early senility
i.m okay TS
bye dawg
later dawger!
"okay"
*Throws life ring to jwr who appears to be drowning*
okay as in there's stuff there that you don't want to tak about? or ok as in actually doing reletively ok
night dawg - see you tomorrow
aw, shucks. Gotta go downstairs (old Victorian, lots of steep stairs, don't come up again til midnight). I'll think about pro-going. luv & thnx

The mistress of f words... LOL

I SAW that -- life preserver? not good for hemorrhoids, I hear... really, bye, really for now.
once you've listened to me talk about worms, i'm always there for ya
you bet TS
jwr - if you're still there.. do go pro.
it's so much fun jwr!
well it wasn't bad at all:)

hiya dr
i'm getting sleepy too
sleepy or hungry
Hello, DR.
can't figure out which
Hi TS and everyone else
i don't think finishing the grid every night is the most important thing we get out of this whole experience
*slaps tragic violently. 'Wake up!'*
I vote for sleepy
lol...yes, violence always tunes me right in :)
Whoa Jacula, not so hard....
better not be anyhow :)
*shoves wholesome food into tragic's mouth*
I agree TH- I have learned all kinds of words
hi dr
i see a good cop bad cop situation here...
lol
Hi TO
lol, thank you jac :)
Sorry, Jade. I got too wholeheartledly into that dominatrix thing for just a moment there. I'm back to my earth mother self now.
i think i'd prefer the slapping around to having wholesome food shoved in my mouth
Oh good to hear, Jacula.
Tee, hee to all answering posts.

Change vowel in first word I suggested.

i challenge that word
thanks jacula
to make good or guarantee
to make sure, or to vouch for in writing, T.O.
ce7 = I might ce7 you as mad, TO. If I did you would be ce*t**ied.
ty Jade
welcome, dr
y/w, praise.
ty . i am ce7able
You may be, TO!
I'm stuck on de5, 6 & 7
I, on the other hand, am totally sane.
*roolseyes*ofcourse. dear
de5/14 = to remove the winter frozen stuff from your windscreen.
Thank you, Jacula
de6/24 is the one who removes the stuff from the windscreen.
fireworks
congrats, saphyre
de7 please? or is it another abovious one?
Hi, everyone--I'm tired of looking for that tr 6 33. Would appreciate a clue.
yay saph!
prefix for 3 and fast plane
de7 = ah, a little more difficile if you don't speak French. It means 'at the back'. However, don't despair! Think of the ply of tights or stockings and then add an 'r' after the 2nd letter.
de & abbrev for nurse - more suffix TO
PERFECT! my didn't even have to think about it ! MWAH!
Thanks, saphyre--was driving me crazy.
(I typed last post with a French accent, btw.)
yw
Thanks, Jac & saphyre!
iheard it with a french accent, jacs. you sound just like pepe le pew
:)
LOL, TO. Merci! I hope my accent is better than his was but I did love him.
there are too mant f words in this grid
Any outstanding clues now?
anyone need clues before I go?
I'm still taking my clear fluids prior to colonoscopy... white wine will do. LOL
lol Jac
LOL jacs! way to do it in style!
I don't need much sedation this way, and I can watch cam surgeon is watching this way. It works... I know!
I am having coffee with coffee ice cream and baileys - yummm
i am having timmies big suprise
I deserve it after this grid...or any grid...or umm anything lol
bable is making some questionable adjectives tonight - like fe7
now THAT'S something I haven't had in a while saphyre!
I need some Bailey's
but timmies goes excellent with baileys
or St. Brenden's
passes the bottle around - ice cream of cofee anyone?
saph - I think I can have milk later - not sure about milky coffee or coffee ice cream though. But what the heck? I've been eating plums until they are almost coming out of my ears for past 3 weeks (plums have a thing in their skins that 'make you regular')... so... what the heck!
exactly Jac - life is too short to go without baileys :)
Does it really matter if I have 2 rounds of buttered toast right now, since I have to take the bowel blaster sachet in 4 hours?
i think we have found a common thread
hehe
Actually, I do know the reasoning behind all of this before a colonscophy.
it is to save the patient embarrassment , if they've not stuck to the rules of day one, of having a brown, pojnty tipped thing threatening just above the cam views needed.
embarrassment - baileys - embarrassment - baileys - hard to choose :)
A colonoscopy can only explore the lower bowel. There is a mico-chipped bug invented now (£300) to do away for the need with the intrusive fibre optic camera. Same bowel prep is needed though. For the chip thing... you need a night in hospital with a radiologist in attendance. Costs loads!
Cost then goes up to about £5,000.
neither sounds like fun Jac
A night in a 'private' hospital here in UK, I meant to say.
Thing is, saph, is that the chip thingey can observe the whole of the bowel, not just the lower half. However, you need private health insurance of the 'gold' range kind to get that. And that, is not what the NHS was set up to fail.
seems i picked quite the moment to pop in!
fo5/18 & 6/30 clues please? ty
Health Insurance is so high here in the states if you have to pay for it yourself...Atleast you have something there
NHS - great concept. Was wonderful for decades. Shame it died when the money-making ideas set in.
to, may the fo*** be with you
star wars the fo*** is with you
the someone who does that
ty!
*then, that is
fo6/30 = one who fo5's.
hi, TO, by the way!
hi shady
It as quite funny really, when we had to mental health workers living next door. Hours of amusement throught the walls for us, and in our house. They were fantastic neighbours, even though one of their kids was mental.
doing well, i hope?
And, I have not yet forgiven man of the house from that neighbour incarnation for giving me the never empty barcardi glass yet... Oh my! I was out for 2 days!
lol
bbs
any last clues before I go - have to work in the morning

and used dried ice and spot lighting it was quite good
tim - that's interesting... what was it about?
it was for rememberance day
y/w, stidddy.
tim - that seems to me to be very apt for that.

LOL, tim, I cna understand that.
Chill out now by listening to Elton John's 'Skyline Pigeon'.

Plural of the woman's child--growing organ, stid. ut5.
or come away with me in the night ......
that was it, was trying a dumb spelling!
thanks Jacula!
the books are fine, but the car just died 8-(
tim - I don't like that Niellson song because an ex-b/f once blackmailed me with it. or tried to.
fun surfing video.... I would never do that though... looks scary
i hate when ppl ruin music like that
oh gwen, sorry about the car... was it age or a sudden illness?
Are you ll done now, stid?
yes jacula, all done, thanks to you!
sudden illness. bent valves caused by timing belt busting caused by water pump breaking.
i had a particular song that i really love and a friend of ours started acting real goofy while it was playing and now i can;t think of that song without thinking of the goofy act
Yahoo! stiddy.
owie. poor car. My little sentra needs a new timing chain, but Tom steadfastly refuses to pay $2500 to repair a $300 car...
However, tim, the reactions to songs, yours and others, make up the fabric of life.
same story. car is worth little to nothing but repairs estimated $1500 to $1700 (!)
Congratulations stidmama on fireworks!Good for you
yup it is the same as memories only stronger
yup it is the same as memories only stronger
sorry
Sinead O'Connor, Nothing Compares TU, is a case inpoint.
yep. but it's hard to think of getting a newer car... LOL tim, that's how my evening feels!
lol jac
The video, according to certain sources was only about giving up smoking.
Listen and watch e smoking and lost love. You'll cry either way.
:)
I suppose you want a quick link to the video of that now? LOL
Hi Book Doctor Gwen! How are you? Welcome to grid!
Does anyone have a clue for the re 5/20 word please
hi again all
min, add an adjectival ending letter to the tropical fish hideout
Hello Ornith! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
hi ornith!
eh, not so great, minver, stupid depression is acting up again
Frodo!
Does anyone have a clue for the je 6/36 word please?
re5, more like the re4, Great Barrier ****
Thank you for the re 5/20 clue.I just found the word
Sorry to hear about depression Ornith. That runs in my husband's side of the family. It is hard to live with
{{{ornith}}} *sends lots of sunlight which always helps me*
je6... just like a word for "made fun of" or "booed" except move the double vowel. the 7 doubles the middle cons as well
thanks stid
yeah, I'm hoping it's just a bad couple days, if it keeps up I'm going to have to raise my dose of meds back up - thinking it might have to do with season change
Never mind! I just found the je6/36 word.Thank you!
O dear. It seems Snad O'C has asserted her moral right to being the author and all videos of 'Nothing Compares' on the net.
What's she gonna do, make everyone shave their heads?
Is a je7 word an extension of the je6 word before it?
I might do the same myself, have done, at times, I do not blame her. Stil annoying when you want to listen to a song, though.
yeah, minver, double middle cons of je6
*Tootles off to find cd to llisten to.*
Reich!!
Thank you for the je 7/52 clue. I just found the word
good good minver
No German thingies allowed, Gwen.
Goodbye Jacula! I'll see you tomorrow in the chat log!
'Bye, Min.xx
I tried that word before Book Doctor Gwen.No good.
oh, frodo balls!! LOL
Doric!!
sorry all, I drifted off... ornith, sometimes when I have trouble as the seasons change I find that cutting back on sugar and increasing protein helps.
eh, anything involving diets is just gonna fail with me, heh. I'm still on Prozac on a low dose, so if I may just end up having to change dose by season
Can we just rejoice for a moment that although 'reich' is not allowed 'Jews' is?! *Smiles*
utern!!
"Jews" isn't a proper noun?
LOL I didn't mean permanently... just for a couple days. (I can't stick to anything that reeks of discipline more than a few days)
hmmm, but i believe jews is allows because it shows up as a verb with an unpleasant definition . . .
it will also take jewed, which proves my point
Not In The Army Now (re the song) then, Stid? LOL
doesn't it mean to cheat people gwen? I am always surprised which words are allowed (haole, for example) and which are not.
as someone who is 1/4 jewish i protest LOL
Right now most of my sugar comes from chocolate, and that wouldn't be good to cut! I actually had a shrink tell me I should eat all the dark chocolate I want to help my poor brains
I liked that shrink
Does anyone have a clue for the ni 6/24 word please?
Nazi is allowed though. I wonder why about that; surely it is a proper name?
Doofier!!
mmmm *stuff chocolate in face*
a proper name AND an abbreviation, I thought, Jacula
(trying to imagine using nazi as a verb . . . )
ni6/24 is some kind of new spelling, following on from the ni4 for a nightclub.
maybe enable is including the "grammar nazi" use? though that seems unlikely...
apparently nazi is also used as an adjective sometimes, uncapitalized
"soup nazi"
Ni5/10 + sometimes vowel
Hi, all.
hi jellen...
hi jellen
hi jell
okay, after nearly hitting the keyboard with my forehead, I think I'd best curl up and take a mini nap...
Well. whtever way that word is percieved, I think we should all don high-heeled boots and sing and march,an dstamp it out into the ground.

Ornith - if you like jackboots use 'em to stamp out neo-Nazis.
d + sea bird + comparitive ending
de 7 is a french word
de7/32 is d plus more of the er 4/4 word MonkeyMind

Minver...you wrote er4/4...is it another one?
Noer4/4
The er 4/4 word is a sea bird MonkeyMind so more of that added onto the d for that de 7/32 word.
hey, I'm Jewish myself, at least ethnically. I'm no fan of nazism
Minver...they're saying there is no er4/4
Ornith - I would not expect you to be!
oh jeez, 100 words and I JUST found the do5.
"i shall leave no te4 unstoned"
Sorry de 7/32 is de + more of the te 4/4 minus the t.

Hello fannieg! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
