hi mari
because you can't hiccup while you're throwing up. :-D
well that is a good point
lol fran
actually, i like pickle juice
sometimes just the smell of the juice will stop it
we all drink pepperoncini juice to take away hiccups. it really does work. i know. i used to get sent to the principal's office for hiccups whilst in high school
you're making my mouth water bb
bb, yahoo said there was a problem sending you the invite. you'll have to try me when you get a chance

hubby had to prepare for a big gig this weekend so we're going to dinner next week
but, i spent the day with my kids, took them to music class and then to have sushi, so it was fun
going to that super restaurant you told me about, fran?
maybe jilli, i think that's one of the options
mmmmm!
i know! if it weren't so expensive it would be top of the list.
Yes, my friends here thought it was rather pricey too!
31 w's!!!!!
i think it's totally worth it, but not when there are bills to pay
i need 2 more mva, bunches of biggies in the Ws today
Yes, MVA!
I only have 25 of them including the big ones, and no blank tiles, and 60 to go so I'm off to bed
night jilli! sleep well

ASLU, start with the "help" button above, but basically you look for words in the grid and type them into the "add word" box
Hi I gots me a new icon
hi infernal

THat took ages to find a new icon
hi herin, didnn't see the face til i clicked on your profile!!
Clever pic that i like
Good morning everyone from Germany. Fran your new icon is perfect with la4/7!
rate
OHHHHHH, sorry!!!

Hi MVA or as they say here in low German, "g'moya".

today is mymuseisme's birthday (the 10th) so if you see her, wish her a good one too
later infernal!
later herin

how many words in this grid?
185
that makes 6 other people that i personally know with our birthday...Ronald Reagan also, but of course i didn't know him personally
oh, have a long ways to go yet then...lol
oh wait, that's not right, he was elected on my birthday.
I used to work with 2 people that had the same birthday too, in an office of about 20....was quite a coincidence
of course dart finished in record time and left to play tanglewords. :-)
what a brat
2 of the people i know are sisters, born 2 years apart
their parents swore they weren't trying for them to have the same birthday.
what are the odds?....wow
the odds on that must be high!
there was a family on TV that had 4 or 5 kids with the same birthday...not multiples either.
the odds are astronomical really
i also have several very close friends with birthdays within days of mine. we always have fun birthday dinners (at least until i moved here)
phantom: duvet
Hi

Good MVA....anything nice planned for today?

I am good. I had a lie confirmed to me today by the friend i told bye bye and i am now glad i did
Oh dear Herin, doesn't sound good at all.....

sounds like it was good riddance for her infernal!
Hi Pigeonman, Aloha Fran

hi geek!
hi geek!
pigeon must be deep in the grid, he hasn't shown up in the chat yet geek
Morning Geek!
HI there... MVA & Flask
brb
We just got home. Took the kids to the drive-in movie.
ok...am gonna dive in....back soon!
which film?
hello everyone
Fran in the space of under 6 months she has booted at least 3 people that have known her between 4-10 years
Hi lynxx
hi lynxxx
Bee Movie and The Game Plan they liked it. It]s not too cold yet.
not good herin
Not good for her fine fe me
back, infernal, that doesn't sound good, what's going on with her?
Hey Geek. Didn't know they still had a drive-in in Vegas.
HI,
HI,
there he is, hi pigeon!
hi pigeon
There is only one left at Smoke Ranch and Rancho...
Fran. Yep, I was lost in limbo. Just got fireworks.
Hi Pigeon
Hi Fran.
yay pigeon!!
and congrats!
Cool!
We just got back from the hockey game about 45 minutes ago.
Cool, I just got started...
Good game. 1-0, we won. Lots of action though for a 1-0 game
Lots of use of the w,x, and v letters. Stuck in the middle of quite a few words.
What happened to the Celtics... 4 - 0????
It's the ghost of Len Bias
I appoligise i am being very juvinile
I haven't convinced her to move up there yet... The weather is noce, not too cold right now. I've been looking at Webcams.
We need to find the perfect house and property for you guys. Haven't really been looking.
When the weather drops below zero on a regular basis, you need to keep it to yourself.
why juvenile infernal?
you two remind me of a girl that came to Guam from Alaska when in was in 6th grade
Geepers. I always wanted to be a little girl. :-)
i know now Alaska is very beautiful, but when she would show us pictures it was always of snowdrifts and things we had never seen
No comment
we didn't understand why she missed it so much. :-)
Yep. Most everyone thinks there are igloos all over the place and we have to fight off polar bears.
sorry, i guess i meant when you talk about Alaska, it reminds me of her. :-)
I gotta run. I'm gonna watch The Brain From Planet Arous. Great 50's Sci Fi. Luck to everyone. Bye Geek.
that's what they think of canada too.....lol
See ya...
See ya...
night pigeon!
bye Pigeon
hi lynxxx!
Hi Fran the Birthday Girl !
only for an hour and 15 minutes more. :-)
phantom: travel
Did the kids make anything for you?
bye pigeon
lol, no, they're only 2 and 4 and my husband would never think of organizing them to do something. :-)
You know that you have way to much spare time that when a buffy quote is found you know which episode
my visitors have woken and say they need food! i may have to cook breakfast now!!
lol, isn't that because you've watched them over and over again?
mva, throw them a box of cereal and show them where the milk is.
:-)
lol!
and you could really spoil them by getting the toaster out and putting bread on the table too
won't work?
hmm, maybe there's a reason i don't get many guests?
could try that but for years i have cooked them bacon, sausage etc and now they think they should have that!
wait, did you want them to visit you again?
what a great hostess!
must have done!!
All of this talk of food makes me sleepy... I have to say Good Night!
somehow i knew you had set a dangerous precedent. :-)
goodnite Geek
night geek!
night geek! sleep well (after your snack)
i don't know about you lynxxx, but i'm putting Wales on my list of places to visit, specifically MVA's house. :-)
i also do them a big roast dinner later!
MVAs Bed & Breakfast!
sometimes it feels like that lynxxx!!
I have roast cooking
oh rude. No asking just taking
and then i'm flying to melbourne to see infernal
i'll meet you there fran!
Is this hard or am I just a bit slow to see words?
Don't forget to drop in and see me too then, not so good on dinners but can do a nice lunch
it's not an easy one lynxxx
that's my dream vacation, fly around the world visiting all my babble friends...bearing gifts of course.
OK I'll aim for 2/3rds before I get the List then
i am not remotely paying attentinon
what a vacation!!
i have 40 left without the list, but i've been around for a couple hours. :-)
that's okay infernal, we're just talking about coming to visit you
73 here, off (mostly) and on for a couple of hours too
I meant the grid. I am doing random slogan generation with a naughty word
lynxxx, did you notice the 31 Ws? a bunch of biggies in there too
yep - only got 16 of them! are there any 8s in there
i yeah
have no big w's may have to got to list, burning breakfast permitting!
at least 3, do you want starting letters?
and 4 x W7
Yes please - the only 8 I have is ex8.65
me too lynxx
wh8 x 2, wi8
wh7 x 2 and wi7 x 2 also
i guess that is all the 8s, i'm still missing a wh8
which i just found i think
yay! i did find it, 8s are done
isn't the one you are missing the ex8.65?
no, i have that one
i knew there was another wh8, so i listed it for you, but i didn't have it yet
ahhh!
time to start the grid! Hi everyone :)
now i need one more 7, don't know what it starts with though.
hi mrp!
how did the pictures come out?
thanks fran, will work on those, but will have to go but will be back and forth for babble
hi mrp
Hi MRP. are you 'showing' yet or are you having a relaxing weekend
later mva! have a lovely time with your guests
ty fran, bye!
finished the Ws!!
we are doing the pictures on Monday morning... cleaning up still and staging the rooms... it has been quite challenging.
i'm sure mrp! but i'm sure it's going to be awesome
ain't nothing relaxing about this! it is an enormous task to sell the house... if it isn't presented right, we don't get enough money for it
it already looks amazing! I have completely turned around the bedrooms! they look beautiful! Some of the nicknacks I am using have given such a lovely effect, am pleased with my purchases of rugs and throws and pillows, candles and glass plates and bowls... silk flowers. It is going to look very special
well, i'm crossing my fingers for a good showing and top dollar for you all.
sheer slog - but worth it in the end, with the added bonus of not having to clean out so much when you do move!
I have been hunting around the traps, looking for ideas during the open house. It is suggested to write small cards that tell the buyer something about each room that is a special feature. do you think that is a good idea?
now there's a silver lining lynxxx
Also, to have water and fruit and biscuits available with a 'complimentary' card next to it, at the entrance
HI MR PRES
Mr Pres also baked cookie smell works
those sound like great ideas mrp
That is wonderful ideas Mr Pres
the baked cookie idea is nice, but not feasible... would have to clean everything up and that would be alot more work for me
one show i watched, the realtor had the homeowner put cinnamon and cloves in water on the stove and have it warmed up right before the open house.
I would be guided by your agent MRP - I personally don't think that is necessary - freshly brewed coffee smell would get me though
also, buying silk flowers and lovely vases is better... and light a marigold scented candle... spend $100 on the flowers and that is the one off expense
Mr PRes its called cookie dough in a roll
BBS - getting dinner going
I.E. Clueless stylee
later lynxxx!
bye lynxx :)
Bye Lynxx
ghee t
hi kkiln!
Hi Fran
Oh dear. my cat is attacking feet and shoes
she seems to do that a lot infernal
Mr Pres i love the smell of a fresh house. You know the not to chemically smell
Yes. She is in season. (head desk)
AM i the onluy one here?
i'm here
oh k
is there something wrong about being the only one here?
perhaps she didn't want to be talking to herself? :-)
hi again babrab
i talk to myself all the time. ... i only get upset when I respond to myself off-topic
lol
I am sure I just saw harrison ford dressed as an 'orange people' in Flying High!
oh mrp, you really are tired...why don't you lie down and rest a little.
:-)
i'm saving 18 for tomorrow, time for me to think about getting to sleep.
good night or morning to anyone listening!
Hi Fran. I'm listening.
Hi FranMag! *waves*
bye fran :)
Wonderful icon and story of Pele, Fran
I would love to start this, but am way tired. See you all later :) nite nite
Nite, MrP!
st
Well, I've been away for ten mins or so and the chat log hasn't changed. Is anybody there?
Hi hydra, I'm here but folding clothes at the moment...keep glancing at the grid trying to spy more words...
Morning hydra..I have just popped in..isnt it quiet
Hello caitlyn. Yes, it is, apart from in my house where the boiler's bust and the boyfriend is trying to fit a new ballvalve, with much swearing and banging!
Hi Marmar. I'm not great at folding clothes. If they don't hang, they just get chucked in the cupboard!
Ha, I think I'm slacking off because I'm not ironing everything first...
Oh you need a boiler today..go and buy some earplugs Morning Marmar
I have the earplugs, Caitlyn - and a white noise machine! I live on a noisy road.
Hi Caitlyn! Bare da!
uh....Bore da!
Bore da Marmar!! ( I dont speak Welsh but I know that one LOL)
That was good, Marmar.
MVA taught me that this earlier this morning.
I'm impressed. Did you learn nos da (goodnight) too?
No, but I got it now. Thanks. I can only speak English and German but love to collect foreign phrases. Have two more now!
I can say good afternoon but cant spell it...pronoun da is the nearest i can get
Here's one for you. Guzel. It means pretty, or nice, in Turkish. The expression 'cok guzel' (pron. chok) means very good, very nice and it can be used for almost anything.
I don't know any German though. I can count up to ten but that's it.
If i sit by the computer and polish the desk does that count as doing housework?
In Germany if you can say Schnitzel, Bier and noch ein Bier (another beer), you're good. Thanks for the Turkish, I have several Turkish friends here.
Of course it does!
I sorted out the stack of papers sitting next to the computer the other day...I was very proud of myself!
Gunaydin (pron. goon-eye-dun) is goodday in Gurkish. Merhaba is hello.
Well done Marmar!!
Where do you live, Marmar? And thanks for the German words.
hi
Hi herin!!
Mornin' infernal
That's great! Thanks. I am north of Frankfurt on Main, outside of Giessen. Does that help. We're pretty centrally located, 5 hours to Berlin, Munich, 3 hours to Switzerland, France, Belgian
What wonderful places you can get to. I'm quite envious!
hi
hello
Let me know if the smell of polish is too strong!
I'm holding my nose, caitlyn
Infernal, that is a fabulous icon.
It's beautiful here. I'm from Texas which is fine but the topographical beauty is somewhat lacking... You go Caitlyn!
pardon the double i am in a crappy part of the house were the wireless net is virtually non existant
Thanks i googled Werewolves and this is what i foud
Must go and greet a visitor.See you later.
Bye hydra
later hydra
Bye Hydra!

hi herin.how are you?
hi cait,i intend to!!
I have run upstairs and i am listening to Jason Webley. Awesome singer
This is confusing we have lilli and lil on at the same timeLOL
my grandparents were from wales,newport
phantom word: duvet
i use to love going in the school hols and i'd always come back with a welsh accent which pleased my dad but not my mam!!
Newport is about 30 miles from here
This is the singer i am listening too lilliann
i am only confused not clear on things
http://www.jasonwebley.com/index.html
LOL lilli you say mam ..the Welsh way not mum
i'm listening to anastasia at the moment herin
also the geordie way and i live in durham
my da always says mam
i meant dad, although that is the welsh way isn't it cait?
Yes lilli it is ,my kids call me mam but i call my mother mum
This is not the face of amused. A singer i love and have got emails for their concerts for um whats the word its not reviews um sod didnt tell me she is comming to aus
da is the irish way isn't it?
i think it is used in ireland aswell marmar
Probably Marmar perhaps its Celtic
have you always lived in wales cait?
who is it herin?
now i am going to have a tanty
why herin? (is that a tantrum?)
chill out herin!!
For the last 39 years lilli,My mum is Welsh though and moved to London when she was 16 to go into service
aye my dad is but has lived in england for 60 odd years, well saying that my mam and dad now live in france
did herin leave to go have her tanty ???
please dont break anything
she's probably howling at the moon like her icon!!
anybo dy got du 5 14?
Morning all
liliann, that's a very cheeky icon photo :)
Morning Liz
hi liz
du5/14 is descriptive of the du4 that precedes it, the Mr Gore ending.
just like me lil!!this is confusing me typing lil!!
Hi Lilli, Caitlyn, Haz...all
hi haz
Good morning/evening all.
i know! i was confused typing "lilli"
Good Morning Haz
Good Morning All
morning all :) Lil*MOnkey here, hard at work at the crack of dawn
Hi Peri
Morning Hax and peri
hello peri - you're early today?
hi peri
periwinkle where are you?
Yes, Haz, Couldn't sleep, got up at 5 am, will probably need a nap later
PA
me too Peri
Had my tanty now i am ok
I'm in VA
oh thank goodness herin!
That explains it, peri.
glad to hear it herin!whose the singer?
ty haz. going blind i think
You're welcome dp.
Haz, what time is it where you are?
It's just coming up to 11 am.
ok
Amanda Palmer of the Dresdan Dolls the reason im annoyed is i am on their fan mail list for future concerts and i have been hawking my email everyday
never heard of her or the band herin.are they an aussie band.are they well known?
herin do you think she is a distant relative of mine..Palmer was my maiden name!!
i think "vegi" should be a word!
it is cait but spelt differently
add a vowel
sorry,meant lil
LOL
and plural it
oh thanks all :)
love that cheeky photo lilliann
I must be too old.
it reminded me of my daughter as she's always flashing hers!!lol
too old for what Haz
why haz?
Hey Haz what'd you make of Glasgow winning the Commonwealth Games?
The lord mayors show is on the tv...Think I will watch that and come back later..bye for now
see you later cait
I hope Glasgow knows what it's letting itself in for.
Pretty much the way I saw it too - same with London and the Olympics
It's when they start talking about the money involved that my head starts to spin.
It makes me mad that so much money gets spent on sport when it could do so much other good in the world - the new London Stadium is reputed to be going to cost nearly £100 million by the time its finished
do you have intermittant eruptions of pea soup too?
i'd like to know where they're getting all the money from for the olympics
found 100, bbl to finsh
bye Peri
bye peri
I'd like to know why they cant build it for 99 million and give the other million to charity... or more
Babble - you've been watching too many old movies. We're not permanently bathed in fog, just from October to March.
it annoys me how much a football player gets paid and when they're injured they still get paid the same amount.what a waste of money for just kicking a ball around a pitch!
Like minds I think Lilli :)
hi haz, liz, lill et al :)
hi mrp
Ahhh Haz! And there was me thinking Babble was really making a non sequiteur!
Football, and sports does provide entertainment and if people are willing to pay to watch, people will take the money.
Hi MrP!
Hello mrpresident.
Babble is always tuned in.
I just think they should have more thought for people who need it more Haz, if you see what I mean
Oh, I understand completely, Liz. The world of sport seems to be unbalanced in terms of the amount of money it sucks up.
Sorry i ran off
Wouldn't it be nice if things could be spread around more evenly? And I'm not a communist honest! LOL
I don't mind sportsmen being paid for their skill etc, it's when the money is ridiculous that you begin to ask questions.
Liliann they are a USA band she is part of. The other guy Jason Webley is in Seatle
I think we should be checking for pinkness, though, Liz. McCarthy would be worried about you.
i like certain sports, but footballers get more money than anyone and they don't train as hard as some other sports men/women
LOL Haz *tries not to blush in case the colour is miscontrued!*
They seem to have enough time to 'write' their autobiographies, so their training can't be too exhausting.
Anyway, time to go - bad head. Hopefully BBL - have fun all
And I'm off as well. I've to do battle with an unfamiliar supermarket.....
I wonder if Linda Blair likes pea soup?
bye liz, hope your headache goes soon
bye haz
Bye!
Thanks Babble thats going to be an awesome question to ask drunk people
oh,goodluck and have fun haz!!!
Bye Haz
Is anyone left?
I only lurk between the hours of 12 am and midnight
lol bable
yes herin
night all
night herin.sweet dreams

morning
morning carlee.
g'day
BR your quote has made me feel sad. Do you have a happier one please
morning all, looks like a nice grid
and its very thought provoking!
hi chrissie and crpw
Hi lilli
doesn't seem to be bad crp
7s and 8s clues plz
movieman: wh 4,9 builds to two 7's and one 8
wi 4,9 also builds to two 7's and one 8
think of those endings that mean "the most"
"God is a comedian, playing to an audience too afraid to laugh.†~ Voltaire
Good clues Katy, thanks.
yw. i was wondering if I was being too vague.
ty katy
gosh BR, that's a deep one. too deep for me I think :-S
but thank you

wh8.65 the part of the grain that produces the seed
time to get started on my day. bbl for the last 30 word. and you're very welcome. BTW another 8 is an extension of the ex5,20, add an ending for the 7 and then plural for the 8, and lynxxx just gave you the other 8. bye all.
bye Katy
oh my, surely there is a filter to protect the innocent from the reproductive proclivities of promiscuous plants?
oh, I did not mean to offend! Love the Voltaire quote.
bye katy
Whee! I just got my first eight letter word all by myself!
wtg molly!
go Molly!
ah, back now! kids are in bed after a huge night! too much fun!! LOL
hi again mrp.what have you all been upto?
wb MRP!
hi lill and lynxx et al! have been giving the girls mini facials! they just love it!! Did a cleanse, mask and day cream overlay. They are sooooo happy!
oh great!bet they loved that!
girly stuff - what fun!
we also went through all the cupboards, removed all our clothing and put down rose scented sheets in all the draws. :)
yes lynxx! is my favourite thing in the whole world to do! They love it and feel like little women!
i love doing girlie things with my daughter too mrp.we do hair and nails etc
thats when she's not being a tomboy!!
oh yes! hair and nails is in the morning LOL!!! will be a treasure to do nails!!
is your youngen a tomboy?? I was when I was a little girl too
my daughter gets more on my fingers and toes than on the nails!!LOL
she is and isn't, depends what mood she's in.i use to be a tomboy when i was younger until i got called a boy by some woman!!
oh I feel for you lill! I got mistaken for a boy when I was 12! I was in the ladies toilets in a shopping centre and the cleaner came up to me (infront of about 15 women in the washroom) and scolded me for being in the 'ladies'... telling me that I was old enough to use the men's toilets. I burst into tear and said, "but I am a girl!!" She just about shrunk to 1 inch and all the women in the washroom said 'aawwwww, poor girl!' I was mortified!
i was about 9 or 10 and playing with my brother and his friends in the street when a lady came up and ruffled my hair and said "what a sweet boy" and i quite indignantly said "i'm a girl not a boy" and got quite annoyed, after that i started wearing more girlie clothes.i think i became a tomboy because my mam use to dress me in frills and horrible dresses when i was younger and i hated them.i'm definately more girlie now mrp.
good evening mr pres

I did and I really like it.
almost dowager
Good morning ... babysitting ... won't be here long.
moring, merk
what age?
hello merk and hurshy
hello
hi merk and hursh
could I get a hand with se5/14
it's a kind of material
it is a russian man's name without the i at the end
suits are made of se 5/14
it reminds me of a russian name for a man
hurshy, did you get your car back?
ah, thnx all, fireworks for me
no, it was totalled, but i got another car that is almost exactly the same.
yay for joso!
hello everyone
wtg joso!!
hello, dorens!
hi dorens
afternoon all
hurshy, glad you have wheels
afternoon, ishult
afternoon ishult
hi annie, lillian lshult, hurshy and congrats joso
however, then yesterday i was given an insulting token raise, so i am depressed again.
need help, only found one of the 's (ex/65) need help with the rest!!???
oh, sorry hurshy.
two of them are w's - both superlatives
you have wheels again hursh?
hurshy, sorry...didnt you just start this job so, perhaps, it is not a token raise after all....you are in good company anyway, you and Joe Torre
wh8/65
...not a superlative
have 4x w7's but don't see any 8's!!
no annie, here is how it went. the last person they hired interviewed well and then turned out to suck. i said i wanted at least 30,000. they said how about 29,500 with a six month salary review. they did my six month review, said how fabulous i was, and raised me to... 30,000.
yeah, hurshy... you haven't been there a year yet, have you?
wh8/65 is a grain farm term
oh. but then after six months you'e making wha you wanted.... is that bad?
yes, because i was asking for that when i was unproven. now they know i am really good, so.
hurshy, I would not take this raise badly..they sound quite cheap tho...I would wait the year out
hmmm, you have a point there.... so now what do you do?
so next interview you get raised again
ex's, there are 2 main ex's, the rest build on them,
i do what annie said. see what happens after a year. if it's not a big raise, i think i will do something else.
so that does make sense
ex + m***ed mink and ex***, strive, use strenght
hurshy, that is the plan I would follow...if after a year they do not give you a decent raise I would look at other options but do not give notice until you have something else....
i mean i thought they were presenting it as a trade off - we'll pay you less at first, but you have the opportunity for more, sooner. now it's not a trade at all, you know?
the economy is not great, c ould that be affecting them (tho they do sound cheap in general)?
it's a yacht management company. the rich people are still doing great and building yachts galore.
good point. well, follow Annie, I think that's good advice
yes, I know how you feel but I am sure they did not mean to be insulting..
i think annie's advice is good, hursh. and the company does sound cheap
how can axers not be a word anyway hi everyone can i hae todays stats please and any biggies
i looked on salary.com and the median for my job for that zip code is 35,000 with 0-1 year experience.
i am Irked.
hi cool girl 185 words
Did you tell them that? show them the salary.com info?
oh and, the health premiums went up last month, so the raise is somewhat cancelled out.
oops, m***ed milk, not mink
4 eights and 8 sevens, cool
i didn't have a chance, dorens - i had this review where they said i was good and what i could improve and that i was getting a raise. then a few days later i was handed a letter praising me and stating the raise.
I was wondering what you were doing to the poor minks, dc
thanks dc could you tell me how many words in toyal please
tough break there hurshy....when you go in thte next six month review, you'll be prepared tho, right?
good morning, Babble! this is going to be a crazy week for me.
185
185 cool
I do have my ecenticities, but I leave the fuzzy animals alone Dorens, lol
ty
not really dorens. i don't know how to handle these things. this whole thing was so stressful.
hurshy, you have every right to feel irked.
Perhaps you can take the letter and thank mgmt for the raise. Then ask them if your annual review will yield more of a raise.
hi angelsong,why is that?
i can't take the letter and do anything, for i burned it last night
is it this week you move angel?
Oh, well you CAN thank them which opens the conversation about the future.
i found out our company letterhead burns well though
yes, we are moving on Thursday! We arranged for the electricity to be turned on yesterday.
hurshy, when you are there a year you will have more experience and you will be an asset to the firm...reviews are very stressful...go in there armed with information
it would make really good kindling, doesn't burn too fast
LOL
LOL, hursh
Well, I have to run.... drive to Boston in a few minutes.....Hurshy, you will definitely be better prepared for the one year review.... it will be better, by then they will know how indispensable you are (as long asyou don't burn the place down)
thats good to hear angel, bet you can't wait to get in now.hope the move goes smoothly for you!
I would be curious to find out how many receptionists the company has had in the last ten years. Perhaps the company views the position as one that is not difficult to fill at the low end salary it is willing to pay.
In the future, I wouldn't burn letters praising me. I would save them for future job applications.
drive safely, dorens
bye dorens
they already said, in the letter, about looking forward to having me around long term, and how they pride themselves on taking care of their people... argh i don't get it
yes, i was going to do that chiley, but then i forgot about that and couldn't sleep till it wasn't there anymore.
the sinks and toilets were going in yesterday. The front yard was sodded on Thursday.
yes, esp starting you so close to what you asked, then raising you offeectively nothing
My mom always said The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Maybe they're waiting to see if you stand up for yourself.
so, a year hence, it'll look up, or you'll know to start looking elsewhere.
will it all be finished by then angel?
Perhaps respond with a letter Hurshy, writing it will help shape your thoughts on the matter in a less emotional way, ie, dissapointed in the raise because bla bla bla (point 1, point 2, point 3, etc), will be looking closely at the 1 year review for these reasons. And they seem to prefer to comunicate via letter.
good point, chiley.
oh yes. Carpet and tile are being laid today.
i don't see why people should have to stand up for themselves to get what they are worth. it is really not fair to those of us who have severe social handicaps
walk through is on Tuesday; closing on Thursday, and we will get the keys.
If so, they do not take care of their people unless they are pushed
do you have to do any painting or is it all done for you?
all of your suggestions are good except i don't know if i could bring myself to do anything like that. i feel like if i express any dissatisfaction it will make all future interactions awkward.
congrats, angelsong :)
somebody needs to tell high school kids the truth about life.
hursh, the feelings of teh potential awkwardness, based on your past experience, or based on interactions with them?
testify, hurshy!
based on... the fact that i tend to feel awkward around anybody under any circumstances anyway and anything could make that feeling worse
hurshy, is it a large firm...do they have a human resource department?
how old are the kids when they leave school in the us?
no, it is a 7 person office.
we don't have to paint anything.
around 18 lilliann
16 lilliann
18 on average, lilliann
Imeant 18
who would you have to speak to..re: more money?
my class ranged from 16.5 to 19.5.
18, most of the time, liliann
the government are thinking of extending the age to 18 here
actually annie, that's another thing, i don't really know which person i would be expected to speak to.
in an office that small, starting at the top is often the best option with such.
hurshy, then who can you ask?
anyone i ask, everyone else will know i asked. that's another reason i don't want to.
why are the gov't considering that, lilliann?
don't know dc.
hurshy, my suggestion is to right a letter to management thanking them for the raise, point out the salary stats you have and ask if you may anticipate raises to bring your salary inline. If not, start looking.
write
hurshy, have a job lined up first
of course annie.
i must go bathe and dress, i've a busy day today. hope you al lhave a great day/evening, and hursh, i look forward to hearing how this plays out for you. *hug*
i might try to take some courses in... something... i don't know what... and do something different.
{poof}
a clue please for tr5/10?
perhaps they think children need more education before going out into the big bad world!!the only thing is,is that they will have to either extend schools or build more and there will be more teachers needed,so alot more money will be neede
attempts
it would help if i were remotely interested in anything
tr 5 -- attempts
thanks Esprit....nice to see you, how you doin'?
hurshy, if you like this job I would stay the year and see how it plays out re: your next review..but go in armed with information about health expenses and salaries..don't take this as an insult..it really isnt..they are cheap
and to you too Babrab!
be an efficiency expert, hurshy
the cost of health insurance is a big problem with all employers/employees
the stinking insurance companies keep raising the premiums
te5 please
te 5 -- add a vowel to the end of the te 4
ty br
one thing you whacky mericans might consider is putting a whole hell of a lot morre pressure on your congressional and senate representatives to institute a single payer health care system. it baffles me that you abide by having your health and security held hostage by insurance companies. bizarre.
could i have some clues for the 7s and 8s please
the republicans in the 80's were in bed with the insurance companies
wi7,7,and 8 all go off the wi4 cool
use the far right column
thank you for your thoughtful comments, bonkler
i dont have the wi4
i wish we knew how to pressure our government. i certainly don't have a clue how to go about it. i mean you can tell them your thoughts but do they pay any attention?

America is such an amazing place, so much to offer but your politicians seem determined to sell off the interests of the populace to the highest bidding lobby. Sadly, our current Canadian government seems eager to emulate that pattern.
did you get the clue cool?
thanks that was right in front of me
even the election process doesnt help in applying pressure..... they all make promises to do what you want but dont follow thru
they are elected- if they don't listen then you don't vote for them next time
morning all
morning, nutty
From the outside looking in, America seems to have dug a gigantic hole and leapt in to dig deeper still. Your international reputation is in tatters and it appears there are huge troubles socially and economically on the horizon. Given the gumption and energy of the population it is a wonder there hasn't been a general strike and a mass march on Washington.
hi nut
i have the wi7 and the wh7 but it wont let me pural them
morning nut
ohhhh, political discussion *rubs hands together* goody goody
morning nut- speaking of insurance- did you get any more info on your new one?
yes lide, i wrote hr about my dr. about not being on the list, they say she is on the list
btw, i'm in favor of single payer national healthcare
awesome
dont worry sussed it
more of those cool but not s on end
can you tell me what the other 2 8s start with please
aahhh, thanks, liliann :-)
in this world a nation with the power, wealth and expertise of America without a comprehensive national health care system is just mind boggling.

never mind bush requesting billions for an unwinnable war and nixing a program to guarantee children healthcare
does the other wh end the same way as the others

And, how was the screening last night?

Mr. Kucinich and I will meet at 6 p.m. on Sunday, kat, at Malaprops Bookstore! :-)
did you get it gronds?
the screening was fun... can tell the movie had budget of 20 000...but they got approval to make the second a while ago with a 40 000 budget..and just this week got approval for 3rd at 80 000
hi6 please

i have the ex7 the he7 the 2 wh7s please could someone clue me the 4 im missing please
there are some weird ones today nono, but isn't there always!!
Sounds like a fun evening, kattie. Yes, hursh, Mr. Kucinich will be in Asheville for a book signing, and then head to the Ani DiFranco concert to talk to the fairly young voting bloc.
anyone here ever seen ani in concert?
My daughter is a huge fan... has spent mountains of money following her career.
la7, i need the la*atory and the things you listen with but two of the same vowel instead
she is an angry woman...however, women can just relate to some of that rage
kat... how is it that you have some actual time to yourself this morning?
neighbour over visiting.... guy talk
i enjoyed seeing ani di franco when i caught her in concert at the greek theatre a few years back. her audience is very lopsided however
ty have you got the other 3 im missing
carlee, you have been asked this ad naseum i am sure, but how are you doing?
Daughter, and her college pals... all in the 26-29 year old range, follow her to the nth degree, TO... I don't think I have ever heard her music. Daughter was in heaven earlier in the year when she had a chance to see Smashing Pumpkins at a local venue...
do you have the wi4 cool?
and so are her performances...i saw her in the midst of divorce, and she had a stalker and was very afraid
there are 2 wi7's that go with the wi8
let's just say in the bay area she drew mostly women. she is amazingly talented though
You, TO and bbnaz are telling me more than I ever knew about her...
the 2 7s and the 8 go off the wi4 cool
a male friend lent me an early anthology with the caveat" she's filthy". . however, as a woman and hearing the subject matter that drew the language, i could relate to the rage.
like men looking you up and down (ah, those were the days LOL) and such
i have 1 wh7 and 1 wi 7
i danced myself to exhaustion when i went to see her. i would definitely go and see her again if the opportunity arose however only own one disc of hers
I never knew that, TO... filth is a moral judgment...
there are two of each cool
well he referred to her language. he thought liz fair was filthy too. let a male rocker use that language and nary a word
TO -- did you ever get to see the Who perform?
both wi7s are similar cool
Roger Daltrey has not aged well...
last cons changes on each one
YES!!!!!!!!!! very up close and early on at the brooklyn fox theatre. the hedliner was mitch ryder and the detroit wheels!
LOLi am ancient!

So far, with minimal walking around the house this AM, I am having less pain. I am trying to be patient.

Yippee for Carlee's husband! How nice for everyone.
what did you do, scarbs?

well...it is nice..but... its...trying...
thats a great idea bnaz.i've got pink fluffy dice on it!!!!
how many 6s are there in the grid
lol lill
Owl, on Monday, while playing tennis like a wild woman, I strained some ligaments within my pelvis (sacroiliac) and have referred nerve pain that is excruciating.
that's great to hear carlee
26 of them cool
thank heavens for visitors some times yeah Carlee?
it'll be hard work though
ouch
Baby steps, Carlee, for everyone. Think about a year from now and reflecting back on what you all endured.
ow ow Scrabbler, I can sympathise about how painful that is!
so soory
and hi :)
i'm not joking jo, i have got pink fluffy dice on it, my hubby's ex wife bought them for my birthday
only 16 to find then
how fun lilliann
I dislocated one side of my sacro-iliac joint a few years ago. Actually dislocated is the wrong word but can't think of the right word. Never been in so much pain
When I play up at the net I pretend that I am a goaltender and I dive for shots or go down on my knees. However, I am 48 and must give up this fantasy of being in the NHL.
exactly bbnaz
hi ata! {{{{{carlee}}}}}
Lill--may I ask why you use a scooter?
finally found the last 8! so no more 6, 7 or 8 words. only the little ones
hi atta
never give up scrabs!
Atalante--sacroiliac joint subluxation----> sclerotomal pain involving the nerves (L1-2-3).
I just keep trying to rememebr that for all the frustration I am feeling his is 100 fold..but... I of course am the whipping post for the frustration and if I lash back it will just escalate the situation....so... I may loose my tongue to my teeth in the coming weeks
can someone put the 6s up please and how many of each there are
i'm only 38, i'm not ready to die or give in yet and i'm a fun loving person who enjoys life.life is too short as it is and you never know whats around the corner as i have learnt and also carlees hubby
vegier
LOL, bbnaz, my body cannot function like that anymore. I don't want to experience this pain again.
sorry wrong box
oh come on. in january i am 51 and i firmly believe that one should slide into death fully used up, not pristine and tidy (of course i don't ride the really rank horses anymore....nothing to prove ;~p)
bbnaz, good for you!!
My left ilium ended up displaced about 1/2 cm above the same level on my sacrum on my left side. Ow. owowowow
Sorry Carlee, but I also firmly believe that you must set some boundaries for your sanity. What has happened is horrible but you are not responsible and whilst you may love the fellow, well just make sure he knows how you feel, not how he makes you feel. does that make sense?
will bbl.
and Scrabs, not necessarily, I hurt like the dickens (rolling eyes here)
OUCH, Ata. I started with the sacoriliac pain on Tues AM, then the nerve pain started Wed. I feared a herniated disk, but that is not the case.
ihad sciactic pain and wanted to jump out of my skin
we dealt with that a little bit this am...I was told quite bluntly at 6:30 while helping get his gear together for his cathetar..to f%^$ing get my act together.... as if I KNOW what he needs ashe has "shut me out" for all personal care activities
Carlee, scratch that advice. It doesn't come across on chat like i mean it to
scrabs, i suffer from menieres disease and had treatment to help cure it as my balance was going and my bairn was a baby and i was frightened of falling over with her so i had the treatment.it destroyed all my balance on one side and now the other side is deteriorating on its own. my consultant told me i had an allergic reaction to the treatment.i now fall over alot and bang into furniture and walls in the house, but i won't use a wheelchair in the house, only when i go out because i can't walk far.i have to lie down alot as i get dizzy and pressure in my head, but eh, thats life and we get on with it,there's people worse off than me!!
very ouch! I sympathise utterly, scrabbler, and hope you feel very better very soon!
I had that twice, last in 1992, and that is unbearable. This feels similar, but no pain with cough/sneeze/strain that is present with a disk popping out.
I think my perspective is different due to having a child with Down syndrome and my advice is very personal.
i hope you fell better very soon scrabs.
carlee, my mom was like that beacuse she had to endure taking care of basic personal needs for my grandfather, she would not let ANY of us do so for her. we had an aide come in to sponge bathe her etc.
Oh, Lill--you have endured so much! I am so sorry. Did you have acoustic neuromas?
they are so many brave people here
carlee, don't let him get you down,he has also got to come to terms with things and there are plenty of things he can do for himself and plus he'll just have to learn to do other things.i was told by my ot that i have to grieve for the person i was as i'm now a different person
*in awe of the strength shown here*
I don't know so much brave as moving forward
Carlee, can you get home care to help - could take the pressure off both of you
good morning
Carlee, he has to learn that he is allowed to be angry but he must be careful how to deal with it.
hi jane
monring Harp
*morning
and now for the last word in my grid
Hi Jane and Flosey

hi harp
Hi all
good afternoon all
congrats hehe
((((((carlee))))))
hi perio
gosh, I'd never thought about this before, but the internet and forums / message boards / IMs must have had such a huge effect on deaf people
hi peri and sprite
{{PERI}}} hello
hi sprite
An acoustic neuroma is a tumor on the 8th cranial nerve. It can cause vertigo and when removed, e.g. gamma knife radiation, can render the person deaf.
and yes everyone...I kno whe has anger and guilt..i keep putting that first in my brain....
omg i can't type
Hi Peri and Sprite
I did send Reiki to you twice yesterday carlee, hope it helped
no,it started with my menieres and gone on from there
but sometimes reflex and anger creep up to take the lead
HI Scrabs, how is your friend Mary doing?
am sure it did peri..our ide home and home coming was...gentle...
Grief takes a long time, carlee, for everyone involved.
good to hear, I know it must not be easy, just do the best you can
Mary is undergoing brain radiation and chemo, and trying to get physically stronger. I spent last Sunday afternoon and dinner with her and her family.

Wow that was an amazing video!
{{{HUGS}}} to all..thanks for your kind words....they are keeping me grounded
(((Carlee)))) enjoy your day and your hubby
Carlee, you are stellar. Take care of yourself
every so often go in the bathroom and make goofy faces in the mirror to vent tension
carlee, you have to remember that YOU and hubby have had a life changing thing happen to you lately and you BOTH have to cope with the changes.its hard on everyone.my daughter and hubby have to do things differently now for me and it's not just my life that has changed but my families, and i feel guilty for that
I don't know if Mary will survive this brain cancer, but I will keep her happy and comfortable and loved up as long as she is here with us.
LOL, bbnaz.
Tosh Lilli. You didn't choose this and nobody is "responsible". It is just what it is.
{{{SCRABS}}} take care of u too....
Carlee, deep beaths, breathe in peace and love, breathe out stress, anger, anxiety...
*poof*
I like the term "loved up"
PHEW!!!....am down to 12...but stuck on the av6 word...any help please?
they'd rather have you just the way you are now, lilliann, than having to do without you, no matter what the burden. I know... I am in the same position.

av + hook + **l together now
ar day for sweethearts beggining
hello
we do, Ata... grief must have its place if we are to survive with our soul intact.
thankd
yvw
hi again dc
Lilli. I would then have to feel responsible for my older daughter's childhood being "altered" because her younger sister took so much time and effort due to down syndrome. It is more us projecting our realities of what we wished for onto folks who don't know any different.
hi dc
does that make any sense?
lill how many left??
hi, joanne, lilliann, sprite :)
thats true bbnaz
i'm trying to finish b4 i go to a bday party.
hey dc :)
Agree with you Ata. I am a firm believer in spending all emotions. I don't know what one would want to save any of them for.
DC!!!
Well said, bbnaz. hi DC
hi, bb! i'm a bit out of it today - might've been the nosebleed.
ive got 14 of the vs
I grieved for the daughter that never was when Kinney was born. Didn't mean that I wasn't in love with Kinney but rather grieving the loss of the "what should have been". Then I got on with the task of living. It ain't always easy.
Yuck, nosebleeds are yucky and messy.
there's 17 cool
I have 5. But I have just started.
Kinney? thats a lovely name
yeah, though it turned part of my beard pink until i showered, which was kinda neat.
i dont have the va how many letters is it
But Kinney is who she is because she has Down Syndrome. That is what makes her special.
She has my mum's maiden name
i think i have grieved for the person i was then sometimes i remember how i use to be and it starts again, but i'm not a person to get bogged down with things, i still have a good life and lovely family and they are my life
Funny, dc

Hello. (I may or may not really be here, so no offense to anyone if I suddenly cease to exist.)
lill u get that one
I was joking about the surfboarding, GT.

Mythical creatures? A reticule is not exactly a mythical creature. I can do better than that...

Oh, sprite, I'll miss you!!!!
bye sprite
bye sprite
am sorry, Vic, but it is so ruining my fun in puzzling... *hug*
congrats flask!!
sorry sprite
did u know Sprite that the chat can be switched off??
I know, Flask... but I like the chat. Just not all those spelling clues or clues that give the first 4 or 5 letters of a word. So will be back later.
well....there's a very true saying..."You can please some of the people some of the time.....but never all of them all of the time!
yep
very true flask
but I think Sprite is in the majority of not liking words to be spelled out!
not everyone is a walking dictionary!
I'm with her, anyway.
guess that is what comes from babbling since the early days... when it was still ok if the puzzle was a challenge and nobody wanted their puzzle words spelled out. And I am not the only one who hates this, just one of the few that says so.
yes, ata, i'm in that camp, but sometimes it's necessary for some people.
Good morning, all.
you don't have to be a walking dictionary to make a good clue that is NOT obvious.
Most of us are more of sitting on our lazy bums dictionarues, actually.
it is not, dc. People can do better with clues and it does not hurt to think a little longer sometimes.
i generally don't like them spelled out either
i generally don't like them spelled out either
I second Vic
Oh, darn. I changed my icon for Sprite's mythical creatures and all I see is Guernica!
hey Scarlet *hug* Sorry to welcome you in this...
rather than saying re + ge4, say to go from 2nd to 3rd again, or something!
you are right with your opinion vicuna but not everyone knows the words or understands the clues you do
I see the mythical creature, Scarlet, and it is lovely!
I see a gorgeous chimera, Scarlet.
a gryffon, scarlet, lovely!
heat
Oh, sprite... we are such a diverse group... Oh, wonderful, Vicuna!! :-)
yeah, we've needed ours lately, ruru
Thank you too, dc!
Well....what a great pity we're not all as good as you, Sprite!!!!
Thank you sprite!
boy is that true dc.. some toughy grids in this last week
True enough, rurocks! More of it may be generated than light by these discussions!
so perhaps, if one cannot find the words with the 2nd letter clues AND the numerous clues in the log, finishing the grid is over his or her he4? Or do we really need to dummy the whole thing down? Post a list of all the words so everybody can find all just by looking them up?
oh flask
Do I need to unloose this chimera? LOL...
yeah, I knew one would be calling me arrogant now... well, so be it. I know I am not. I am just a serious puzzler who does NOT mind to give it some effort.
there speaks the Babble genius!
we are all different and come from many walks of life and different countries so some clues may help some but not others
sprite, i am very much the intellectual snob, and understand where you're coming from, and largely agree with you.
ok sprite ..but i may be there half the time cause i must be pretty dumb with some of these words hehe
I'd love that, Scarlet... just to see it fly! They are beautiful creatures of myth.
THEN SWITCH THE CHAT OFF!!!!
can I get a non spelled out clue for the middle eg5 ( :
flask ........ people are allowed opinions
yes...and so am I!
and we all love talking to Sprite, and she has just as much right to chat as you
I dont want to, Flask. I like that chat. Have been chatting for much longer than you. I like lots of the people here. I should not need to switch off the chat, just because some people want their words spelled out.
agreed, sprite
and tell that to the other person in this discussion....she started it with her rudeness!
can we all just get along..this is suppose to be fun yes??
*hugs grammaterri*
I have not been rude at all. I have just told what I think of this.
Yes, sprite... please, kids... don't argue... we gain nothing but ill feelings... The Golden Rule applies to every part of our lives... We must be gracious to one another at all costs... we are all different, and opinionated... PAX?
it did sound kinda rude sprite
Happy Saturday Babbler Buddies
there are polite and nice ways to say things.
at least it sounded that way
I think it was pretty straightforward and not meant in a rude way
yes...and it was poor joanne that bore your rudeness!!
well, I have asked nicely about a thousand times now, so if you cannot handle plain and simple stated facts, perhaps it would be great if you had listened to the nicer requests earlier.
hi shawnee,don't know about happy!!!
hi Shawnee.
I found that eg5, never mind (;
i've never heard you before sprite.
lol, grammaterri! Good for you carrying on in the midst of this ruckus!
Ive never ever heard them Sprite!
this in the 3 time in the last 24 hours this same conversation has been had. Haz brought this up, as did, oh i forget who the other wos.
that's ok flask i have broad shoulders
but again, I have not been rude. I still am not being rude. But posting spelled clues in the chat, after so many requests from many many babblers, could be considered rude.
Haz is just like me, dc. Also one who likes the challenge of the grid and does not need spelling clues.
i've never heard any request when i've been on, sorry sprite
and flask, if sprite was rude, you certainly were, unfortunately. can we discuss nicely if we have to discuss?
i will just stay in the bush
lol vicuna ( :
gramma is the best :)
I prefer the clues like "french pants" or "motor parts....rather than having it spelled out
I did not have the word yet, grammaterri, or I would have given you the non-spelling clue! ;)
oh, yes, haz explained to me, and i concur.
Atal....I am only returning the compliment to Sprite!
but you take em anyway right ruru hehe
French pants = cu7
i found it just as you pasted, grammateri
s'aright sprite ( :
I have not yelled and I have not talked about anyone saying she this and she that... I was not the rude one.
im awsome
i would never know that vic
It was in yesterday's grid.

'Bye, gramma.
sorry .Hello all, I've never known sprite to be rude
thanks Ata... we know better ;)
sprite and flask, can we let it go now?
never have been, Kallia. Hi, how are you doing?
nanotech, why are you typing words in the chat?
fine thanks and you?
ge6?
friends now? can we discuss something else?
kittens? puppies? the weather?
found it
no way dc
yes please let it go.....
How about all that weather we've been having lately?
I don't even know what is going on, unless I read the chat...do I need to?
ok I guess ;) Free weekend, works miracles. Grid is going smooth so far, but am playing sudoku at the moment.
It's a lovely warm day in HoosierLand, ATA.
we are all here for the challenge, but some people find it easier than others.we all have to accept that
we had storms! and a tidal surge and flooding!
weather... Robespierre, it is storming here like crazy and my kids are storming along!
can we all get back to the game now as it's suppose to be fun!!
no, kallia. its the same old :P
really ata? i hate when it's like that.
ge6/24 - solidified, what pudding or jello does + not early
you must be on the south coast Atal....
it's darn cold and windy here in Hampshire, but thee is a beautiful sunset
well tornado just blew thru here!!
also heavy flooding and high waves in the netherlands... first time in 35 years we had to put dike guards on all dikes.
my poor doggy was very confused. her beach vanished under unexpected high tides reaching the sea wall
dike guards?
HAHAHA sorry couldn't help myself tehe
WOw, sprite. I hope they have their fingers ready to stick in the holes!
its blowing a hoolie here!!
childish, wow
lolol...joanne...
I heard that the other evening Sprite, did any get breached?
Holy smokes! I guess we're lucky to just have a little fog here (Monterey, CA)
yes, flask. kent. right in the middle of the flood angst
what's a hoolie?
lol Vic... well, all of our country is beneath sea level, so this is a serious situation. But I guess it is funny
it was telly yesterday!
kidding trying to make light of all this and get on with it
poor puppy. ours was confused by last years flooding here, as his favourite bits of the woods were inaccessible for a bit
poor doggie!
some pics of the waves on flickr. the seahere is normally a millpond
No, I know it's serious, but the story of the boy who saved the country is such a stereotype here.
it means the winds up and blowing well
ty lill, I was close to right
is the la5/16 a common word?
I have not heard of serious breaching, but they had to be on guard all the time and make the dikes higher. (yeah, hahaha, dikes)
I know, Vic! What the Netherlands are famous for ;)
sprite, thank you for last night's introduction to kottles (sp?). Is it a salty cripsy coil that goes well with balancing your chocolate?
la5/16 - common if you study bugs
yes, harp; think arthropod baby
lol...dykes
yes, harp, young insect
not really, I think, harpjane. A young insect.
got it thanks
yes harp
and tulips....and clogs....and of windmills!
and a latin plural for la6/27
and cheese!
and little mice living in windmills in old amsterdam
Scarlet: wokkels! Yes, exactly, lovely when you're binging on chocolate, helps to keep the balance :)
AND SPRITE!! :-)
And Golden Earing, and Rutger Hauer, and Paul Verhoeven, and sort of Bruce Springsteen!
I love cheese
grinnnn Scarlet!
what are kottles?
got a little carried away there
All hail CHEESE!
mmmmm.cheees
Atal...can u remember who sang that song?
cheeeeeeeeeeese!
and what's "telly"?
yeah, dutch cheese is great, but so is french cheese, english cheese, and spanish, and many more!
wish cheese was in the grid....lol
absolutely no idea! we just used to sing it at school!
Cheeses sure pleases...
it is a children's song in holland, Ata. Got translated very well, I believe!
my daughter loves that song ata about the mice in ole amsterdam
Any cheese but that infernal feta!
hahaha!
sing what at school, ata?
hey hey!
I love feta... nice and salty!
I'm half greek here
ohhhhh me too, Scarlet! With a little olive oil.
feta is Greek....is it not?
I'm offended!
Yes, but I'm sick of finding it in my grid! lol
A mouse lived in a windmill in old Amsterdam A windmill with a mouse in and he wasn't grousin' He sang every morning, "How lucky I am, Living in a windmill in old Amsterdam!" Chorus: I saw a mouse! Where? There on the stair! Where on the stair? Right there! A little mouse with clogs on Well I declare! Going clip-clippety-clop on the stair Oh yeah
LOL
there are many fetas - goats-milk greek, cows-milk danish and french ar the primary fetas. I like goat feta best. Some ar soft and creamy, some harder and crumbly.
oh yes, very well translated! How great!
apparently it was sung by a guy called Ronnie Hlton
hee! that's delightful, ata
The french are less tangy and creamier.. but a bit saltier
*Hilton
Any relation to Paris
i'm singing it now ata, just a shame the bairn's not here to join in!
lol
thats it!!
its such a great song!
ruru, who would actually admit that?
A good bowl of crisp greens with a bit of salty feta, drizzled in olive oil, and crunchy croutons. Yummy
me!!
certainly not me
funny detail: in the dutch version they do not mention Amsterdam that often, but the old name that is used by the original people of amsterdam: Mokum.
oh really? how interesting!
i'm half geek. ...but i don't know if i have any cheeses associated with that lineage.
not quite got the same ring to it sprite
heehee
I'm geek by marriage
I grew up with feta...
lill what time is it there??
I married a geek, too.
LOL Atalante
Feta, sauteed mushrooms and leeks in a lovely phyllo dough triangle... sinful and soooo satisfying.
dutch text :)
i love corfu and greek food and i miss feta and loads of different cheeses as i don't eat it anymore
and Frans Hals, Heironymous Bosch, Rembrandt et all
I am the geek in the marriage too
16.44 jo
all those famous old masters]
yes, that is a good translataion ata learned, isn't it.
perfect, dc! Even the middle rhyme is there.
and its pitch black here now!
ok will see you after has to get ready to go out ..byeeeeeee goo lill
i'm at a loss for ra5/18
there's usually only one geek in the marriage. i don't know if 2 geeks can breed.
Later, joanne!
Holland is big is some aspects... still a tiny spot on the world map though ;)
yes.. no one wants to produce more geekos
ditto flask!!
Depends how loosely you define geek, I think.
bye scarlet
bye jo.take care.big hug
I want to produce geeks just like their adorable dad!
back at yah lill
hey geeks are good
sigh. I'm a geek, married to a geek. We did indeed breed.
DC...uncooked not out!
ty, flast
flask
have fun jo!
Thanks, Flask!
yw
2nd ra10, pls?
geeks run the world, be nice to them
we need geeks to create games like this
very true, lideola.
we need geeks to figure out our bus schedules
could be the mousy pest and **L are invited, dc
my husband is definitely a geek- a geeky geeky geek. I, on the other hand, am a geek- but a cool, hip geek
my husband has a mug that says "MIT: Nerd Pride"
Thanks, sprite... I always miss that one!
my dad was a geek in the 50's and 60's so there was no hope for me
yeah, happens to me a lot as well, Scarlet!
lol Inge
I am a hard-working geek... trying to avoid geeky things
and harp, you are right. The MIT football cheer, when they lose (as they usually do) is: "That's all right, that's okay, You're going to work for us some day!"
Actually, I prefer to self-identify as a nerd.
lol i didn't even know they had a football team
If geeks are so unappetizing to the majority of the world, then why am I fascinated with Robert Oppenheimer and my secret love, Dr. Stephen Hawking? LOL
a chess team, a robotics team- sure
i attend sci-fi conventions sometimes, and work technical helpesks. Though really, i'm a language geek.
ty, sprite! all done, so now must away to b'day party.
Vicuna I never really understood the difference.
oh yes, Stephen Hawking! Smartest guy ever.
well done DC
yw dc *hug* Have fun!
EVER!
Maybe there isn't one, inge. But I think of nerd as saying more about the intellect and geek as saying more about the affect.
wtg dc!!
Enjoy yourself, dc!
isn't geek more technical and nerd is non technical?
Thank you! *hugs everyone* {poof}
bbl thanks for the laughs all.. good luck with the grid.
well, there is the geek squad
Bye, rurocks.
on the bright side, us geeks don't have to spend much on fashion....
lol, maybe that's it.
bye ruru!
bye ruru
my husband has a lifetime supply of pocket protectors if anyone needs any...
Until another day, ruru!
then there is the age old aregument between "redneck" and "hick" in my neck of the woods
whats the difference between the two??
hick to me is someone with country ways... redneck is an insult- beer drinking, wife beating type
A hick is unsophisticated... a redneck rejects everything ourside of his environment...
Well, time for this nerd to get lunch on the table. Goodbye for now.
at least to me
bye Vic, enjoy! *hug*
Bye, nerdy llama-like creature!
goodby Vicuna, fellow nerd :)
bye vic
amd I love your mythical kids, Vic!
*and
FIREWORKS... and just in time for lunch!
yay Nanette
mmmm....interesting two very different answers!
wtg nono and enjoy lunch
Yahoo for Nono!! Well done!
i don't think they were so different
well done nono!
Well, Flask, the answers are very much the same, though.
please,not another argument!!!
i don't see an argument
are the rednecks the klu klux clan?
The rejection of the redneck includes anyone else's skin color, religion, alcohol and the purpose of women in their lives... No arguments here at all... Fear not, lilliann, I am a peacenik! :-)
I prefer the term country, but that is just me.
tsktsk, childish...
who's arguing?
i was only joking lide!!
joke
lol Scarlet
LOL....let's not fight about fighting... I am laughing so hard now....
Actually, this is interesting. I never even knew what a redneck was until someone explained to me some years ago. I stand corrected now and will add the term hick. Hick = what I thought was a redneck. A redneck is now explained to me very clearly!
i'm just fighting to grey out some boxes
NO....I in my infinite wisdom [lol]..thought they were one and the same....I am obviously very wrong!!
that's the only worthwhile fight, lideola ;)
A hick is not a bad thing at all... most hicks are family values folks who are not terribly impacted by the rocketing advancements of society and science... but, there are many more computers in the country now....
they are very commonly used interchangeably... and you wouldn't be corrected if you did switch them up- i think its more a matter of opinion than anything
lol sprite. to me they are somewhat similar, flask, except Jeff Foxworthy made millions off of redneck not hick
exactly Shawnee- Jeff Foxworthy made "redneck" more socially acceptable
and not as derogatory
The Beverly Hillbillies were hicks. Duke Cunningham is a redneck
I loved the original Beverly hillbillies!!!
to me they are not similar, rednecks hate...hicks are simple country folk
I get called both alot of the time, just because I grew up in the country and have a slight accent. Doesn't bother me any
are the rednecks from the south.forgive my dumbness, but i don't know alot about american history
But Foxworthy made the redneck sound as though he were the Piltdown man... not too attractive, nor bright...
Flask, werent they wonderful
Hi, AnnieBrooklyn!!
redneck did originally come from the deep south, I think
No, lil... rednecks hail from any corner of the planet.
or geography even
Oh yes Annie....
{{scarlet}} have to leave for Bobby's birthday lunch but had to put my 2 cents in
rednecks are from the south
rednecks are from the south
nah- its not exactly a geographical divide. I live in the Northeastern part of the country and wouldn't be too hard pressed to find a good amount up here
Any clues for the RE6s, please?
not exactly a true statement Annie; I live in the Pac NW and we have a large population of rednecks!
so is a Redneck....more a sort of type of person.....that where they come from??
hey Annie
~!~!~!FIREWORKS!~!~!~
yes- its more a type than a location
rather than*
hiya {{sprite}}
yay KristineN!
wtg kristine!
re + tardy
The term redneck originated in the South but I guess now it can be anywhere
now I understand it better!...thanks!
Very good distinction, Flask, and, yes.
re + cranks, shifts
ty vm now I'm off to clean whilst the kiddies are gone !!! have fun
TY, Li!
great clues, lideola!
Someone asked earlier about the KKK... yes, entirely redneck, but unacknowledged as such... Hatred was the driving motivaton.
ty for that annie
Well said, scarlet
that was me scarlet
and where hatred rules, all sanity is history
totally agree scarlet.
so all rednecks are bigoted etc/.?
I always thought of the KKK as rednecks, to me there were one and the same, hence, the South designation...
Yes, Flask, they are bigoted
KKK is not strictly southern though
why to people hate that much???
i live in philadelphia and saw signs up on the lampposts for the KKK
because they were never raised to believe otherwise
and i'm not just talking about the kkk
heavens no, there are KKK everywhere, the midwest is full of them
off to dinner now, bye, will be back to finish later.
bye sprite!
bye sprite
bye sprite
No, Flask... not all... there are rednecks who live in different geographical areas, but no bigoted... it's a real salmagundi~! LOL
bye Sprite!
bye sprite.enjoy your dinner
Don't forget the Lincoln Rockwell had a nest of hatred with his KKK in Waukeegan, Illinois, I believe...
Bye, sprite! See you soon!
Have to leave for a while, till later, dear babblers
i think its mostly learned behavior passed down through generations
Does the KKK still carry clout?
Later, Dear Annie... enjoy Bobby's dinner!
bye annie
Exactly, lideola.
bye annie
in some areas
when you get to the more rural parts of the country
i suppose that the same with any family, gang or religion lide
yes
I live in a pretty rural part of the country and we don't have any clout carrying KKK
true lillian
sorry- it was a generalization, but not meant to be all-inclusive
Yes, Flask... it is more secretive now with the heightened public awareness.. but the paranoia is relegated to "survivalists" and racial separists..
older members of my own family have very biased opinions and aren't afraid to share them. I on the other hand cringe when they start the "old discussions"
it'll be the same as here where you have the nf and they live all over the country, in towns or rural
I cannot allow myself to be subjected to any discussions of bias and racial hatred... thank goodness it's not in my family, Shawnee... I really feel for you!
Its more covert now- the flyers on the lightpoles near me had pictures of african american youths all pointing guns at each other
that must be hard shawnee
That's part of the twisted psychology, lideola... "Let them kill themselves".... hideous.
Hubby and I raise our kiddos to have unbiased, non judgemental opinions of anyone, people are people in this house, there are good and bad in everyone regardless of the particulars
and the caption said, "Coming soon to your neighborhood, then went on to explain how you can call this number and prevent it from happening
well said shawnee, that's how we have bought up our daughter aswell
Excellent way to be Shawnee!
ural
hello all!
anyone got a clue for hi 6/21? i am stumped
hi stid
"join us and we will keep your neighboorhood safe", with the subliminal message that safe = separatist
tried that too mcurlschool : )
stid!! did you ever find that lovely garden you had as your icon for a while?
sorry haven't gotten to the h's yet
Bonobo chimps.. may be one of the smartest, most social groups on planet Earth! :-)

Soup is a great idea. I will venture out to the supermarket later and get fixings for soup. I had a delicious potato soup when out for lunch with a friend yest.
anyone help for re6/24 and re5/20? Last two and just can't see them.
ok, thanks
Or, regular pumpkin bisque... leeks, celery, cream, butter, sauteed pumpkin meat... puree and serve with a dab of sour cream?
I sleep with Bunny Sebastian, Shawnee, so he is my little buddy.
kabocha are my FAV squash! they make the best pies!

It's a Japanese, green-skinned pumpkin or squash!

I don't like pork livers, nor beef... but chicken can make good ramaki and pate...
i love kidneys aswell, especially steak and kidney with onions and mushrooms in a pie!
I try to stay away from sweetbreads, lilliann... bad childhood experience with the smell of tongue boiling...
I have never heard of ramaki before... is that the bacon-wrapped stuff I see in my google search?

everyone turn on ESPN College Game Day
puh-lease
unless nobody is here...
i'm here, hursh, but not a football fan . . .
Who wha? Hi, Hurshy. I'm listening to the Univ. Delaware vs. Richmond online. What's on ESPN?
you need not be a football fan
it's just my college is on, which doesn't happen usually
Which college is that?
williams vs. amherst (williams is in the purple unis)
ooohhh, ok :-)
williams = good, amherst = evil
And is Williams winning?
yes
:-D
williams generally does, and amherst has not won a game at williams since 1985, they just mentioned.
Well, hot diddly damn!
oh i just saw morty!
he's the pres of the college... looks kinda like anderson cooper
av6 please
Hmmm. Anderson Cooper is yummy (even though he might be gay). Is Morty cute too?
well i guess - he's older than anderson cooper though and i'm pretty sure he's married
av6 character you choose to represent you in an online game
<---- av6
I must insist that "hiree" is a word.
they give you a lot of "er"s without the corresponding "ee"s - except tutee
Hurshy, baby and infant don't have a "v" in them?
re6 (the first one)
well but une explained what i meant
also if you watched charmed, the av6's were going to rid the world of all evil...
...but it didn't work out so well
I also thought "intiger" was a word, but I may have my vowels misplaced.
re + the little wheels with that work a clock
integer
Don't watch 'charmed'
integer
thanks bubba
Figures. Thanks,Une.
Another example of my complete ineptitude in mathematics.
thought i might be a math major till I hit calculus (shudder)
any other clues for the av6, my last word
Ha. I topped out at algebra. Everything after that was incomprehensible.
loved algebra and trig . . .
this is probably the only time you will see a football player being interviewed on television use the word "prolific"
Bubba, do you also operate for enchodromas? This is a pianist's right hand. What is the prognosis, if you know?
av6 - *** Gabor + black goo
Thanks Miz
Wow! Three whole syllables! Must be their tightening up the scholarship requirements these days.
Michi in Berlin alwasy called his icon an av 6?27
no prob!
no, it's always been that way
*Mickie
I don't usually do hands, that is for the hand surgeon- an orthopedist or plastic surgeon that has done a fellowship in hand surgery. Which bone is involved?
can't monkey the wh8 - any help?
the athletic director at williams is also an alum, and he likes to tell the story of when he first got hired as the basketball coach that really brought home to him that he was back at williams - one game, a player was protesting to a ref about an out of bounds call: "hey! i did not get here of my own volition!"
dont know, Bubba, just "right Hand". He is about to start a concert tour of the USA and wil be out for three months. But can he play a well again?
wh8 grain for bread + what you listen with
i am sure i deserve a fish but may I have a clue for se 5/12
knowing it is a 5/14 might be a start, book
wh 8 is the most wh 4/9
Wow. Didn't know that grain had hearing organs. Will watch my mouth around the oat bran from now on.
thanks une!
thanks. but i still need more of a clue
yw :-)
I would imagine once the lesion has been removed, he shoud be able to play as well as previously. May require some time to build up his muscle strength and dexterity.
a material that suits can be made of
oops, there are two wh 8
se5.14 - like president bush's fall "strategy" for Iraq, but change vowel
se5.14 - like president bush's fall "strategy" for Iraq, but change vowel
ty. that did it. only 6 left
w + opp of bye + what a man wears around his neck + abbreviation for a saint
probably how bush thinks it is spelled, anyway
thanks bubba. Monday I will know whether the Cleveland Clinic gets the job and more.
haha hursh! fireworks for me...
Cleveland clinic is an excellent facility, I am sure he will do well.
congrats, dan!!!
good!
yay dan!
fireworks. ty for the clues
woohoo, bookwomen!
oh look, the moocho macho moocow marching band!
BBL. Popcorn break.
Hello all, I am back to find some more words.
oh i think i just saw bruce!
Bruce who?
one of the a/v people at williams
clue for 2nd ra 5/10 please
that guy on the video is amazing. how does he do that?
A local kid, a tennis star at my high school alma mater, just started at Williams.
ra5 rodent + mr gore
ra+ opposite of lose
Guten Tag, Scrabbler. I sent Opa your info and advice. Won
won't be home from work till 5:30 today.
Ty, bubba and bookwomen
sorry that is the 3rd. second is ra+opposite of short-l
Good, Inge.
well sc, tell him that when they say "you have plenty of time to figure out what to do with your life" that is complete BS
thanks! I tried every combo but that one!
Well, that line does not apply to 4 yrs of college, ot even life.
only 2 left, the ve 5/20 and 6/33. Clues for either?
*not even life
yeah well they say it anyway
Not fruitie (s), MizH
ve5,20 what you mother told you to eat, it is good for your eyes
I am still trying to figure out what to do with my life. hursh, have you read, "Eat, Pray, Love"?
ve 5/20 carrots, corn, peas, etc. plural for 6
no, but i'm reading "what should i do with my life?"
thanks again, I thought those were spelled with 2 g's, that got me confused.
fireworks!!
i think i may have figured out what i WANT to do... but the implementation is problematic at best.
Or, "What Color is Your Parachute?"
Ah, yes, HUrsh--implementation requires time and money, 2 big hurdles.
my dad read that one, i know.
time and money... when you are single with a full time job that pays just enough... hmmmm
have a good afternoon everyone.
Another great one, that I read many times and highlighted is "Callings" by, I think, Greg Levoy
www.gregglevoy.com
ooh there's harry sheehy
i kin see the dorm where i lived as a frosh
Hi everyone. Ever since Judy said "popcorn", I can think of nothing else. I suppose I have to go make some too.
I thought about making popcorn too.
Did you enjoy your years at Williams, Hursh?
yeah
but if i could go back... i would do things a lot differently. might not go.
My best part of college was being on the tennis team, with that core of women. We had a great time together, practicing and traveling.
yeah, the friends are what make college good
What would have done differently?
well, see, i grew up smart. everyone always said, you can do anything you want. and they said you go to a top college, you can do anything you want.
what they didn't tell you is that all the things people do after williams require ridiculous amounts of work, and that if you just want a regular 40-hour job, and you don't have a passion, you are qualified for ... nothing.
"you can do anything you want" = not so easy at all
really, you pretty much either HAVE to earn an advanced degree after that, or go into i-banking or something where they work the most awful hours.
There are so many tough decisions along the way of life, in the midst of self-discovery.
i didn't know i would have to get more degrees to do anything, and my parents weren't paying for more, and i was brought up very-anti debt, so borrowing for an advanced degree (that i wouldn't be sure i wanted anyway) has never seemed like something i could do
which would pretty much mean i would have to get a PhD in a specific subject, where they pay you to go
Hurshy, for the short-term, just earn some money while you go through this transition in your journey.
which would necessitate being interested enough in one particular thing to spend years and years on it
what i would do if i were graduating HS now is have my parents pay for me to get a practical degree - an associates in something or whatever. i'd become a plumber or a court reporter or something.
lesson: don't go to a top college if you're not a type-
hurshy, do you live at home ( with mom & dad) my daughter did her post grad work and worked at the uni- it paid her tuition & a stipend
type-A personality
no, beth... i'm 30, separated, living alone and working as an admin assistant, pays the bills but i can't save.
that is rough- what area of the country do you live in?
Type-A personality people pay high prices for their behavior much of the time.
new england
the other big lie is that being good looking and popular is only important in high school and the smart people win in the end. so not true.
not a very cheap area to make ends meet
And their spouses and kids suffer too. "success" has many definitions.
no, but it's where my family is and i've always lived here, it would be hard for me to live elsewhere.
but like, i don't understand how anyone does the things... like you, scrabbler, you're a doctor - how on earth did you get through the horrid hours of residency?
i just could never handle that
You need to find a niche for yourself, Husrh, and that takes soul-searching and patience.
well here is what i would like to do. i would like to have my own business as a professional organizer/problem solver. like consultants, but for people instead of businesses.
so, i answered an ad on craigslist today for someone looking for help organizing their house. maybe that will be a start.
I just was carried along the pre-med and medical training rat race, because I didn't know what else to do, but I realized I was smarter and nicer than the other pre-meds. My success carried me along, and God's grace was there too.
So, become a Life Coach, Hurshy!!
i was thinking the same thing, scrab!
you should start with friends & family place ads in local papers & build by word of mouth craig's list sounds like a great start!
Read the book, "Drawn to the Rhythm" and then e-mail the author--I did!
but i want to actually do things hands-on, do life coaches do things hands-on?
See, Team Hursh is here to help.
You can create a "concierge" business.
well i may start trying to do some of that evenings and weekends and see how it goes
but naturally i haven't got the resources to just - do it.
anyone read free food for millionaires
http://www.entrepreneur.com/startingab usiness/businessideas/startupkits/arti cle37930.html
much of hurshy's problems tossed about in it
Hurshy, just jumping on here, but i can truly relate to what you are saying. Read my profile. I have so many interests, was told I was capable of doing anything I wanted/be anything I wanted to be, but have spent my whole life trying to narrow "it" down. And I'm now 40 and going through an existential crisis with WAAY to much student loan debt. I have a bachelor's in social work, which pays diddly squat, and even with a master's isn't much. I have a burning desire to help others, and all my endeavors have been along those lines, but I never stay interested in anything for very long (yes, I do have adhd and have been considering meds, despite their horrible side effects) I am SO envious of those people who have a calling their whole lives and DO it. OK, enough about me. But I really do feel your pain, dear.
thanks krista
Geesh, sorry about taking up all that chat real estate!
hey, i take up tons of chat room all the time, and nobody complains. well, not to my face.
I am proud of you, Krista!
I am 48 and the existential crisis is quite active still, more so as I get older....am I really doing what I am meant to do?...what "else" should I do with my time left?...what about my other talents and desires?
Well, thanks, Scrab! The books mentioned below sound great..am writing down those titles.
burrito - has that book got any solutions?
I read Gregg Levoy's book MANY times and have recommended it to many people.
I still haven't gone to the supermarket to shop.....I am so lazy today.
And I am the same with my family, Hurshy. Both of my husbands had/have trouble understanding the wanting to stay where the family is, because they moved around so much as kids. My parents are older and going to need me more, not less, as time goes on.
I guess no one thinks of a physician going through those same thoughts, Scrab, when you have achieved so much.
it just makes me wonder... is ANYBODY happy with their life??
But my job has many challenges and demands. It seems crazy to walk away, but I find joy and reward where I can, I work part-time and pay the bills, have not saved in 10 yrs, went back to school to study pastoral ministry, volunteer in that.....
:) I am. It could be better, but I'm happy with how it's going.
and what do you do, greeny?
The key is to create BALANCE and be grateful for what you have and what you don't have. Also, read "Simple Abundance". I lead a very frugal and simple life.
hursh i think you have just figured out something-on the outside other people may seem happy successful
I'm a student. So, mostly schoolwork.
oh, well, i was happy while i was a student, pretty much
talk to me later
but we all suffer from the same doubts it is part of the human condition
Many, many people become bored and frustrated with their job/career, but plug through.
hi everyone
hi pk
I'm happy with parts. I have good relationships, but it's that self-fulfillment part that is missing. My father has called me a "professional student." :0) I can see why you would burn out, Scrabbler.
Hi Greeny and PK
i lead a frugal and simple life too, sc. i don't want a lot of "things" - but i would like to own my own home and i just don't see how that will ever happen.
I would love to work on a few PhDs if I could.
HUrsh, it sounds like being a Life Coach + Concierge Business Owner fit with your goals and abilities.
PK, is that Ren in your icon?
it is!
I love Ren and Stimpy. :) They're so steeeeeeenky.
yes. well, if i end up getting back together with my husband and he has a job then maybe i can do something
With both husbands and wives working there is a need for somone like you to help with the chaos of family life.
You would need to market yourself, Hursh.
i know
i would hire u hurshy
what would you like to hire me to do, pk? :)
I girl I went to high school with started a business like that, and she is doing well. She markets more toward the elderly, but there's a need.
Hursh--you could help people with the decision-making of life.
scrabbler has a point -- some r too busy to do certain things, or have no skills
I think there is a life coach association.
i have a basement that needs organizing
yes, and a professional organizer's association
sounds like fun!
see - you hear fun, i hear torture
it must be your calling
You can and will find out how to be happy and self-sufficient, hursh, and we will help you along the way.
There is a guy in my development and his business is home organization.
thanks.
Lol, PK.
i'm sorry i always talk about my problems so much everyone
scrabbler - where in western ny do u live? we r in fairport
My friend paid BIG bucks to some chick to organize his mother's things after she passed. He had offered the job to me and I said, "Have you SEEN my house??"
lol krista
Wowee, pk, I live near Springville, 35 miles southeast of Buffalo.
small world scrab - but i wouldnt want to paint it!
No one minds, Hurshy. We all need an ear (eyes) now and then.
I know people that live in Fairport---nice suburb and school system. (Terrible tragedy in June! :(
yes - we like it, my son's school is great
What is the theme today? (too lazy to look)
hurshy, we are your cyber group psychotherapy mates.
well i really appreciate it, as always.
We are here to remind you of your choices, Hursh, and to not have tunnel vision.
90 left - bye 4 now
Nice to meet you, pk. Bye.
81 left for me and I need a break....BBL
Yes, I acutally have to...ORGANIZE a space in my basement..new freezer coming in an hour and I'm Babbling!

Hey, kattie... how's the day going?
its going....
( am up to 260 grains of rice
:-(
Well, got 55 words w/o clues or lickety. Slowing down and opening lickety now.
Feed the hungry, kat... I love it, and introduced daughter to it a few weeks ago... I heard of it in Babble and loved the idea... Atalante said she isn't the one who mentioned it, but I can't remember who did...
he's very frustrated... and i being closest..am th ewhipping post..is to be expected red
Go momof5! I still have 66 left...
i just read about it on bbc
good for you...my goal is always half way before licketies
Oh, kat...my worst case scenario... *monster hugs and smooches to you*
its ok... I expected it...it is what I was dreading yesterday..at least not worse then I imagined
I'm seeling a lot of phantom ght words.
Maybe it's a female thing, but does anyone else keep seeing 'weight'?
yep, me too!
me too
Okay... that's a moderate approach... soon to be filed in the dust bin of history... and then the big "but later" scene... You are okay?
LOL.momof5... I wanted widget... LOL
Hi everyone.........Carlee just read your recipe for Pulla Bread and Butter sounds delicious.......
I keep seeing, "lose weight"...
Good one flask1
Hello dear Flask!!
Hi Scarlet......are you ok?
am as goo das can be expected...he started adn I just said to him..can we NOT just put everythingon "hold" and JUST have a weekend off...do I not deserve just one nice...easy weekend?"
and... he agreed
I am... and you, Flask... no bandages and iodine needed in Scotland? Let's not revisit it now... but we will talk later, dear.
Well, kattie... the conciliation has to come from him... at least you led him to the peaceful waters and stated your case without hysteria.
Well, to be honest am not feeling very clever, I was in the wrong, but am not myself at the moment....
yeap.... so.. I am now alone...( sweet justice...does happen I had to administer his blood thinners ;) )
Not now, Flask... you must be at the top of your game to take care of my Dario! *hugs* :-)
Haven't been for a while...and everyone noticing it...
Flask, it is done. Let's move forward... certain things touch us all off. It was a moment. It is over.
......ok.....by the way Dario has me to send you the biggest hug ever...[[[[[[hugz]]]]]]].....
Is K sleeping now, kattie? Are you to draw a few minutes of undemanding breath now.
asked*
he's gone shopping with a buddy for a rail for upstairs hallway... i am..blessedly..alone...
WOW... that was spectacular, Flask... you sure give one heck of a message! LOL
Shopping from his chair, kat... or is he able to walk without an aid?
my phantom word today is "domain"
wheelchair... they have gone to home depot...

laundry going...
I have a pot of pumpkin/apple soup simmering on the oven.
oh scrabbler that sounds so good
I will do that, Flask! :-) Oh, Scrabbler, you did make soup... I never had pumpkin/apple... sounds like a winner!
I'm having gourmet veggie pizza!!
sounds yummy
With mushrooms and peppers, mom?
Definitely. My favorite. I'd love to share it with you some time (hint)
LOL... sounds like a good idea, mom!! :-)
This one has mushrooms, onion, roma tomatoes, spinach, cucumber, and artichoke hearts with whilte sauce.
Cucumber! That's as new as pumpkin/apple soup... what a super combination, mom!
you guys are making me hungry
angel, I bet if you ask mom real nicely, she'll share a slice...
It is a bit past lunch.
yes please
I try to make dinner earlier on Saturday and Sunday... that way, I can make a large meal, and just a nibble later, than the other way around... we're older and going into the shank of the evening on a full stomach is not such a good idea...
Except for popcorn... LOL
Angel, you know where I live and you are welcome to come and 'see' me some day and 'linger' for a while anytime.
hee hee
We will have to make a sister weekend and meet in the middle some day soon.
where is the middle, anyway?
SanFran, Reno, Vegas (Hawaii). Anywhere we please.
angel mom says hawaii sounds good...
Sounds great to me, too.
baby says HAWAII is not inthe middle
I just finished all the 'ex' words. I'm finding the 'a' words are more challenging this time. As far as the middle, it's as middle as where the plane flies.
got to go but we WILL be back
hello all!
See you later angel.
bye angel
bye all *poof*
what is the AH word please?
I was doing the Free Rice site vocabulary test that Carlee shared.
Hello again, Stid.
hello dear scrabbler! how did the shopping expedition go?
i like the free rice site... it shows how poor my vocab really is!
Shopping has not occurred yet, and I will go in the AM. I had everything here to make pumpkin/apple soup and it is simmering on the stove.
A + pate, stid
duh! thanks scarlet!
LOL
Ty, dear Scarlet!
good for you scrabbler, I am glad you could rest for a bit longer
You're both welcome...and funny!
Well, thank goodness for laziness, LOL.
is the AR similarly fishy?
It is time to open the list, with 78 to go.
Are we all on the same nap schedule this Saturday or what?
that's what I had when I just went to the list, cuz!
ar + Feb 14th is ***entine's Day.
stid, ar sounds kinda like Wilbur Wright's brother :-)
Now it's my turn to thank you, Scrabbler!
*yawn* LOL I actually went into the kitchen with Tom for a while today and peeled and sliced apples. Pie in the oven (he did the crust), apples in the dryer AND apple sauce/apple butter on the stove.
thanks Uneaixoise!
and scrabbler!
I didn't nap, Shawnee, but I vacuumed, made soup, folded laundry, made som ephone calls, worked on the NYT crossword (our paper carries it on Saturdays)...
As are done now (finally)
yw :-) (made pumpkin cheesecake today to freeze for Turkey Day)
mmmm, apple butter. *smelling biscuits baking*
Yummy, Stid!
Ohhhh... *faints away at apple butter and pumpkin cheesecake*
mmm. pumpkin cheesecake, eh? would just any recipe I find on the internet do, or do you have a trick or two for yours?
biscuits? *drool* I LURVE biscuits!
scrab, you didn't over do I hope. injury and all...
what is the middle EG 5/14 please?
also made pecan pie earlier this week (in the freezer) and sauce for veggie lasagna (my daughter's a vegetarian)
Of course I overdid it, that is my life.
I never knew that pecan pie could be frozen, Une...
very easy, stid--cream cheese, pumpkin, sugar, eggs, cinnamon . . . in a graham cracker crust
I bought pecans for pie yesterday! :-) Are we-all sorta getting into feast mode, or what?
yes, ma'am!
Stid... like the last part of what the stomach does after eating... di**** for the middle EG
oh that does sound easy Une! I do well with easy. Not so great at complicated. ;-)
yep . . . I'm also having a bday lunch for a friend on Friday . . .
thanks Scarlet!
down to 55 now
:-)
making broccoli quiches and brownies for her bday--she likee
W's are done. 69 to go. Must check on soup and make sure it is not bubbling all over the stove.
go scrabbler go!
I think I just gained 20 pounds from this conversation...
Une... you are a whirling dervish! LOL
:-D
i get motivated this time of year--NOT in the hot humid summertime! LOL
not sure how I knew the hi 6, but there it is!
Haha, soup was not all over the stovetop until I stirred it up.
stid, same here--I think Babble words lodge randomly in various places in my brain!
help with that hi6 please.
eg5/14 anyone?
*snort/giggle* Scrabbler
rofl... sounds like we have more in common than just word games, scrabbler!
which EG 5/14 beth?
"Scrabbler, you are a dope." = recently emitted quote.
2nd one stid
one eg5 is a bird
got that one thanks
And plural
that was just clued for me: E + di***ion (what happens to food when you eat)
TY, Une--seems so obvious now.
LA 6/33 please? the last one...
la6 least taut, most lazy
thank you stid :)
AH! merci beaucoup, Une!
mon plaisir!!
RA 5/18?
ra + not lose
thanks again! (where do these words come from?)
wi7/48 either one?
Babble Linguistic Fantasy Land!
These words come from drunken, silly dictionary editors with massive imaginations.
bethn, "more so" on the wi 4/9 for the first
turn that to a plural for the next, then plural for the wi 8
une do you freeze your pies before of after you bake? i am having surgery 2 days before thanksgiving & my chikldren are cooking (grimaces in horrror)
after
oh bethn... I hope it is for something minor? would you like to be "on my list?"
rotator cuff repair stid, what list is that?
oh, that reminds me of the time my mom had the flu at xmas and had to dictate all the cooking to me from a dark bedroom!
Uh, oh, beth, what is happening?
hope it goes well, beth
the list of people I "keep in my heart" -- sending good thoughts.
Good luck, Beth. I hope you have a quick recovery.
Here is good news: my friend, Mary, with brain cancer--one of the tumors has shrunk after 2 wks of radiation, AND she will go to Duke Univ to see the top brain tumor guy that is now involved in her care.
absolutely stid every positive thought helps
oh, scrabbler, that's amazing!!
{{{Scrabbler}}} I have been so hoping for a miracle! *happy dance*
Wow, Scrabbler... amazing.
thats wonderful scrab, did she have surgery or just rad.?
Yes, Mary needs a miracle. Her husband and kids need her!
down to 5... the UV words are hiding today.
She had 2 tumors removed with radiation, 3 are inoperable. The chemo regimen has changed now, with the involvement of this new guy.
Standard Babble words, stid...
They are eye words, Stid.
a friend had been told her tumor was inoperable very ratre brain cancer- she found dr, in nyc who specializes she had surgery 5 yrs ago and is doing well- the first group told her to get her affairs in order
I was afraid you'd say that... *looks harder*
got them!
What a story, beth... we never know until we exhaust every possibility.
Great for her, Beth. Second, third and beyond opinions are required when you have cancer. My gosh, we look around when we pick a new car, why not for cancer?
down to two...
Yahooo, Stid!!
exactly scrab- she is an inspiration to all of her friends every time we think there is nothing we can do
good grief, 26 to go and I just now noticed the large wild cat . . .
finito!
Evening, all. Just reading back in the chat. Excellent news, Scrabbler. And it is always worth getting a second and/or third opinion when it comes to a diagnosis of cancer. Docs told my brother they would have to remove his entire kidney because he had a small tumor on his ureter. Went to Sloane-Kettering in NY and they said they could just remove the small section of ureter. All is done now and he is having follow-up therapy which is even more cutting edge... tuberculosis virus cells (kills cancer cells!).
Congratulations, stid!
woohoo, stid!!!!!!!!!
*pounce* GROWL!!!!
Haha, Une, that happened to me earlier too.
hello Judi!
great for him, Judi.
I'm not seeing cheetah, lion, panther or cougar... hmmmm
this video is bizarre... rofl
No ocelots...
thinks stripes, scarlet
ti5 ti5 burning bright
Yeah, he's very thankful. Already back at work after his surgery three weeks ago. *throws Stid a chew toy*
Oh, for pete's sake. Thank you Une. *Incoming trout*
LOL :-D
Well... there's even more than one...
yup
"Several species in the genus Hydrocynus of the family Alestiidae" so your large cat really can be a fish...
Yep!@ :-)
oh, which reminds me--I've gotta go put my friend's cat inside for her--BBL!
au reviorUne!
I think I should go too -- I am now 6000 words behind my goal. *sigh* this week was not conducive to writing.
Back later to visit (and so glad to hear about your brother, Judi!
*poof*
Later, stid.
could I get a clue for the E in the bottom left corner? please and thank you! :)
Ty, ty. Cheerio!
I second that request, Jen.
On the roof to catch rain, maybe, Jen...
Jen - I have ea4/7: part of the roof that over-hangs the house.
ea4- overhanginf roofline
thanks Scarlet and Vicuna!
and Judi!
:-)
OK, rip that fish in two and throw a piece at both Jen and me.
Okay, now we all have a hangover.
Only my roof, Judi!
Scrabbler... you're in too much pain to be catching flying fish...
I need a clue for the last D. Have do4/6, du4/6 adn du5/14.
after celebrating birthday #35 yesterday, I am surprised I don't have a hangover Judi!
So, you will just have to hit me, Scarlet.
The DO5/14 adds a vowel to the end of the last do4/5
add a vowel to do4,6 judi
Happy Birthday, Jen!!
tr 510 ?
Ty, Katy. Apparently you didn't have enough fun, Jen!
No, Scrabbler... it's Jen's day after birthday! Well, happy 35th!
Thanks Scrabbler! I am going to start counting backwards now
Attempts, Beth'
yw judi. bethn, it's a common word means you attempt something.
well.... hubby left on business yesterday, so it was me and my 6 year old, so had to be good LOL
Make a stab at, beth.
Ah, well... perhaps you can make up for it when hubby gets back.
TY all if -you could hit me with other than a fish-i am allergic
I told him to bring back jewelry!
We could throw plastic fish, Beth.
*tosses swedish fish at bethn*
Good idea, Judi.
*Incoming Cheese Doodles*
i like swedish fish does that defeat the purpose?
Better idea, Scarlet.
Probably, bethn. Although, they do contain a seaweed ingredient, so...
You'll get all orange and salty from the Cheese Doodles... beth... try it, you'll maybe like it!
cheese doodles are a valuable commodity in this house. the parrot loves orange food we can get him to do pretty much anything for a cheese doodle
Hi all -- just popped in to change my icon for tomorrow's theme. Anyone need clues?
Hi Nan
Hi, nan! I'll keep plodding away. Congratulations on finishing!
I am not seeing the st words.
hi cybernan!

Think stars, Scrabbler... then Latin ending...
Wow, nan... you're fast on the draw!@ LOL
hi Jen
I got 'em all. TY, Nan
yw
Cheese doodles are soooo bad. I like them, but they are an evil snack food health-wise. Does your parrot poop orange after eating them, bethn?
I was looking for 2 L's earlier, for those words.
thanks for the ST clues
ra5/20 please
Okay, I have tried just about everything, and the monkeys are on strike with the Hollywood writers... the ge5/14... the first one, please?
Rhymes with income ta***, Scrabbler.
nope the only thing affects the color seems to be red fruits like cherries we thought he was bleeding internally the first time he had them
ra 5: rhynes with annual payment to the IRS
TY, Judi
Yikes. That must have been scarey, bethn. Best to switch to white cherries.
on my way -- bfn - back at the flip :)
1st ge 5/14, it is like the 4.6 above, with a cross consonent on the end.
Well, thank you, Katy! What a relief! So long, nan!

Joanne dont stress about it. Some people are really really really anally retentive with clues and cluing and it really irks me that this game doesnt have rules and people like to make them. I guess the best thing to remember is common politeness and clue how you have seen others

Mom its not that bad
thanks infernal
found it
I am brain tired tonight, but I have managed 9 of them so far
Justin TImberlake helped with it which is funny as he was born the year of their first album release
If this album goes off they may tour again and that would be good
oh yeah, read about it
oh yah i heard about that
there's a character that looks like britney going into rehab in it. not very subtle
Its got a short clip in the UK maybe something to do with the fact the girl is a model in rehab and looks like Kate Moss
i guess it could be either one of them
That is true i think that is the whole point of the clip
but the outfit she is wearing at the beginning is definitely britney
I do like the clip.
I am really not into the video clips of now. Most of it is pointless smut (gads i sound old)
mr. le bon is still handsome
yep
Then again David Bowie need i say more
or Antonio Banderous
i liked john and roger, nick was too pretty
I loved the WIld Boys clip
Banderas

eh?
oops -- my chat was slow to update. ignore me.
evening all!
hiya cath
Good evening everyone!
hi uni
hi takuma
ugh, I often wish we could rotate the grid -- it would certainly help with certain kinds of word blindness
hiya uni
I'd like to see the grid in a diamond shape sometimes
does anyone have a clue for ta6/18 please?
it would be neat to have it varied a little sometimes
I've just started..only got Ws for now
there's an online boggle game that adheres to regular boggle rules as far as time and scoring (so there are new grids every few minutes), with the ability to rotate the grid
the w's are hardest in this grid
makes it a bit easier, in some ways
If the Ws are hardest then I am gonna be fine! :)
cathy: ta6/18 is like the plural of an (imaginary) term for someone who tells stories
Hi Takuma. I often print out the grid and look at it upside down. I do much better that way.
I think it might be the plural of an alternate spelling of a currency term
coulda have swtn i'd entered that one...it was my last "t"! thank you takuma
that's a good idea, K. I sometimes copy them down and work on them offline -- I hadn't thought of inverting them then
*sworn*
I find it easiest to work backwards, but that's not too unusual
heh, that happens to me just about every grid. np, cathy
you mean alphabetically, uni?
I do that, too -- easier to keep track of what you've entered
hi6/21?
When I get to licketys, from Z to A I meant.
I was wondering about you during the hurricane, Une. Were you without power (or worse)?
Sorry, meant Uni. :)
:) I only went powerless by about five hours...lightest of the light
And you, Cathyar..were you in it?
Glad to hear it.
went out at 7am, i got up and played some board games a bit later on adn the power returned. I was a little sad. But then I babbled
it came here when it was a tropical storm...we lost power for about 36 hours or so
waiting on our predicted first snowfall here this evening
so far...just rain and wind
It's been snowing here ALL day
horrendous out
uniquity...where are you located?
That's a long time to be without power. Glad that's all it was, tho. I'm ready for snow.
i am spending the weekend at my fathers and was horrendously underpreared
are u in canada uni?
Central/Southern Nova Scotia
wow...i'm in Truro!!!
we're neighbours!!! :)
Wow! I'm Halifax normally, but move around to see family members on weekends
Hurrah to Nova Scotians!!!
first time i've met a fellow Bluenoser on Babble! :)
Nice to meet you!
LoriP (my mother) is also a NSian, obviously.
Nice to meet you as well!
anyone got the la 6 words? clues plez
oh really? i didn't know that...and i've seen her out here before too!
Hopefully i'll be able to go pro soon and we can be identified together, :)
is she in halifax?
She tends to babble in the morning, finishes every day...No, she's very Southern NS.
yeah! go pro!
ahh...yarmouth area?
trying to convince my pa to let me use his credit card....and yup, yarmouth area
la6 - latin plural la5/16
only need last la 6.........6/33 if anyone has clues
cathyar got that one. thanks............need last one only
I've been to Truro..isn't that where the tidal bore (spelling?) is/happens?
I figured you "guys" knew that about each other! Cool.
la6/33 = re5/20 (remove the prefix) and most of that
No...we didn't Krista!!! Thank you for the sort of introduction! :)
LOL...Yeah...take the word "bore" literally...it's not a big deal except during a storm perhaps
during a storm in a full moon
Lol! I love meeting fellow Nova Scotians on here
you are my first uni!
cathyar catn get it. remove the perfix, then 3 letters and i have that. but what after those three leeters?
lol...was a virgin b4 u
I remember hearing a lot about it when there..guess a town must capitalize on *something* for tourism. :)
the most la mkg
yeah...our victoria park is nicer than the tidal bore
ty got it. but tough one.
Absolutely...tourism is key! (Yay...took yer babble-NSian-virginity?) Whew. exhausting!
i needed help for it too mkg
cherry stealer!!! ;)
anyone have the hi6/21?
Truro is a neat little town, tho most newcomers become confused by our many one-way streets
monkeybrains are fizzled from looking for that hi6
I think I asked you this a long time ago...not sure...what is the town Anne Murray is from? I remember driving by a post office with a huge Anne Murray face plastered on it! LOL! My parents were SO excited.
Anne Murray is from Springhill, Nova Scotia!
lol...they wanted to put up a wind farm near her home there and she kicked up a stink cause of the noise they create
to give a job minus vowel and vend
thank you very much joanne
Can't be worse than her singing. ;)
HAHAHA...i'm not a fan either Krista
Flap your tiny wings and fly away......

umm...i can't think of any of her other OWN songs she did...i think she remade some older ones like "out on the mira"
YES! Straining brain to think of another....uh...you needed me...
there was one of her "rockish" type tunes but i can't think of it.
a hokey rock song
ahhh...yes...forgot about that 1
rockish one...
oh poo...i'll never think of it
yeah...well...more upbeat
heavier pop shall we say
lol
poor anne...it's anne murray bashing night on babble
just googled, but could only find other people's hits that were poppish..like Daydream Believer
We can switch over to Neil Diamond if you like. ;)
maybe that's the one i was thinking of krista
i think it prob was
or ABBA
HI
hey wassup everyone
ewwwwwww Abba is boring
Day Dream Believer was the Monkeys
I would rather listen to paint dry
anyone have a clue for ra5/10 and ra5/20?

She covered it.
r + hatchets
ra 5/20 reminds me of that dreaded day of April 15th when I pay my ...
thank u une
yw :-)
ooh....we have Une and Uni...u two related? ;)
Hall and Oates are very boring too
I actually like Abba, but that's probably just my age kicking in. Nostalgia and all that.
:-D yeah, i noticed that awhile back
hi, all
hey, pam :-)
I always laugh when The Une/Uni issue comes up. Possibly part of why I became Uniclue?
yeah.... Bay City Rollers!!! EWWWW

Hi Uni
hahaha ruru
I called her Une by accident earlier. S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y night!
Foghat
shawn cassidy?
What song were you after cath
Andy Gibb .....well any Gibb
Until I get myself clothed, I accept all mistaken identities without shame
Hi Pam...We figured it was Daydream Believer, herin (Anne Murray's cover)
none now...we were trying to think of a "faster" anne murray tune and i figure it had to be daydream believer was her more "rockish" song
not even hers
As Rockish as she can get, that is. Here's one for you...Captain and Tenille!!!!
re Shawn Cassidy, but then he went and produced American Gothic! not boring AT ALL!
OMG....good one Krista
I didn't know that Une! did he really?
eeeeeewwwwwwwwwww
Muskrat Love? Come on, now.
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww w
ruru is totally grossed out now!
Hi, Krista

But it has a great beat and you can dance to it. I guess I like hip hop more than rap. Some of the lyrics are really very clever, if you listen.
In West Philadelphia born and raised...on the playground is where i spent most of my days

I can see why Marilyn Manson is offensive to some, but he is nobody's dummy.
pity too cath, he had talent - thri-l-l-l--l-l-l-l-ler
Thats a he and the reason Marilyn Manson has that name is due to the dichotomy of good and evil in the American culture. Marilyn Monroe and Charles Manson.
I think the osmonds were REALLY cheesy, cowsills---talk about brainwashing youth, LOLOL
Aerosmith and the Blues Brothers have shaped my life - I am sarcastic and dirty minded
i can't stand aerosmith, plenty of talent, but his voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me.

I am not big on beer. I am allergic to the yeast in beer
Hi TO
Thanks RU thatnks
I"m not crazy about it, either, but I do like some white wines. My face and ears swell up and get VERY red..may be the sulfites or something..maybe ruru knows what does that.

I apoligise for this: Pam: A friend turned me on -- and i missed the rest of that sentance due to RURU being crass
Hi Hackerly! Nice to meet you. Pour a glass and join us.
It is the sulfites. If you take a benedryl or two before (if they don't make you sleepy) it will counter act the sulfites
hackerly, you may be drinking ONLY wine if you don't get some rain soon!!
HI Hackerly
How was I crass?
haha... i know right...
Pee wee herman hands he he he eh
Hi, hackerly

That's always a funny thing in families, Pam, how some will learn the lesson and how others will just repeat what they have seen and fall into the same trap.
be back in a few
true enough, krista. I grew up in a Jewish family riddled with alcoholism....

I have 2 friends that live in Atlanta one in down town and one in the boonies
(well...couple months ago i gues)
HI Nat
hi Nati
krista, my college roommate used to fall for gay guys all the time (blissfully unaware, of course). We had to create a code word ("he's a special friend") to clue her in...
I am in Melbourne
Of course, then we started assuming that almost every guy she liked was probably gay...
cath, when we have time when we have time, but her dad passed.
hi, nat and angel
are they Australian?
so am I extremely blind for not seeing the ex's?
Melbourne... I want to go there too :)
hi pam!
oooh.....oh no!!! i'm so sad to hear that. but...i though u 2 were sisters for real...k
"bad" because you prefer male company, you mean? I've always had more male friends than female, though that has changed since i got older...there is less drama, especially in the teen/20's!
meant we are when we have time...duh
would you like a clue, nat?
Hackerly 2 of my best mates are in Atlanta one is central one is boonies
i know
oh..uh yeah! totally - ever since she walked me off the plank into the washing machine
hmmm
yes, that's what I meant, krista. Always have had close male friends, but the two I referred to are my closest friends ...
Angel, that's funny!! What was your code word???
Boonies... do you mean they live in the suburbs?
ok...*tries to find her way out of the dark*
Angel let me guess her gaydar was broken?
are they single? cute?
just "special" friend.
yeah, a few clues to get me started on the ex's
Yes, that is true, less drama,. But more sympatico in style, too. I don't play games, never could.
Herin, I'm not sure it was ever engaged...

Angel, you are the Mom and not the 13 year old, I'm assuming...
Hackely yes out in the hills

did you see, nut, that 'grest' is in the grid?
ANgel there is a pretty firm rule here not to swear and to remember that pg and g rating is best
YAHHHHHH
oh dear what did you say about me?
YEs i hate squirils
but as the monkeys fling poo in the movies, poo flinging is acceptable
i didn't talk ABOUT you, i mentioned you
stumbled over your name quite fabulously too

did i miss something?
ok must listen to cast after stuff is done
clue pls for la6/27, ty?

lickety's grid is built from this grid, not very good help if it excludes words

:-)
Hi Dianne!! Long time no chat!
i would have missed that one if i didn't catch a clue in the chat.
Hi Fran - belated birthday wishes to you. Hi Grey - long time no se.
*no see* - got to learn how to type !
hola! Quel vidéo!! Tabernac!
thanks dianne!
I find that knowing how to type gets in the way of finding words, Dianne 8-D
lol woulf
how about an assist with the hi6?
sorry, fran -- LOVED your clue and got it first -- couldn't remember who gave it --bien fatigué, moi
grey - it sounds like the re word for practicing your part in a play.
hi**s someone all by one***f
thanks -- I knew it was a familiar babblet, but my recall failed me
just teasing you jilli. :-)
I'm really sorry so few babblers chose to get today's icon theme -- such a fun one -- Mythical Creatures.
I am on so infrequently these days that I have lost all track of themes
But I do appreciate your choice, jilli -- Lewis Carroll is one of my absolute faves!
Now I'm going to get the next one -- Remebrance Day in Canada and the UK and elsewhere honouring all who gave their lives -- Veterans Day in the US, honoring their own.
Wouldf, it's so easy to follow them -- they're announced every day and thereafter on Lickety's page or if you use BabbleExpert, in Resources, and I have the theme in my profile too.
ttfn
I know where to look, I just usually dont have the energy to icon hunt
