flip !
morning, ishult
lol drb!
you beat me to it, drb! how do you get so quick?
Hi, Gwen, I'll have to disagree with your spellcheck; they're both acceptable spellings these days
grr. cria IS a word.
hey, it's a Mocroshaft product. I'm not defending it, just reporting its inferiority!
Heh
Clues are up!
gracias, lickety :)
hi everyone
ty lickety
woo hoo filled up the W block! LOL
hi, crpw
thanks lickty :)
thanks lickety!
let the games begin!
heh. i think that every possible spelling of that silly bird is in this grid
i have 3 forms it so far
don't forget the plural
yep, got it
stuck on 50, going to watch my tape of heros now
good nite everyone :)
g'night, HK!
cutting out with 50, be back tomorrow, *poink*

I am impressed BDG and HK! I am only up to 14 myself.
I'm almost there--49. Anyone find the 8 or any of the 7s?

Wow DRB !
drb...congrats!
wow, congrats!
it helps it you don't chat....
eh, chatting is half the fun, and what keeps the ennui away. at least for me
AND if you are really fast!
would take more than not chatting to help me :)
well i haven't really been chatting, drb. and i've still only got 45 words.
so i think it's more that you have an amazing brain.
agreed.
it is nice to get into the grid and not have to think about grading, that's for sure
and knowing all this stupid litlte worlds helps on the word games at yahoo too
firewords
Congrats Dart!
wtg dart
i am obviously outclassed here
never Jess!
dart and drb are not fair standards against which to measure one's prowess at this game
you flatter, lynxx :P
why not, dc?
WTG Dart! :D
must be the minnesota connection...he's in northern minnesota and i'm in the south
not everyone has it in them to type quickly enough, nor does everyone have the brain wiring to pick out the quasi-random rinkages needed to get all the words.
that doesn't mean it's unfair to compare
im not a typer...rather mouse
sla y
min yin
just means i won't stack up to them :P
fair enough, jes :)
TY KK
oops ... sorry
ty nan!
hey, shouldn't you be in bed?
or, shouldn't I be in bed?
er, who's that TeaNC?
morning, kkiln
i want to be in bed, but alas, must work.
that was directed at prism, as she is my boss - but I see she has disappeared.
well, i'll go to bed for you, dc :)
and, I should go to bed!
why, thank you jes! may that you sleep well enough for me to be conscious at court and work tomorrow. Pleasant dreams! :)
oh, it's still early there, teanc
i'll try my best :)
tricky grid today (for a small one)!!!!
indeed so, ishult
Hi Ishult
morning lynxxx
good morning to all the early risers :)
Hi all.
evening, pigeon
Hi Pigeon!
Hi Pigeon..Another hockey game?
Nope. We had bowling tonight.
aha -- the gaelic toast is back!
Picked up a realtors guide. Lots of interesting stuff in there. I'll email you later.
I'll look for it... Might not do any good but I can dream.
thats a new one for me Nan - what does it start with?
ty again, nan, no more 7s to find :)
sl, lynxxx
TY both
*!* ta da *!* :)
well done, nan!
wtg nana
Congrats Nan!!

hi dart....do you know the wind speed here right now? lol blowing pretty good
just so you know, i have the whole left column greyed out
go, bb, go!
it was hard work............
oh good for you, BB -- lol
you are setting yourself up on that comment nana lol
gee you're good bbnaz! lol!
congrats nan!
hush dart
where are you located, banana?
south of edmonton, alberta
oh -- only one place windier and that's Lethbridge!
evening, banana
nan is in your fave spot nana
yes, i'll be close to her at xmas
fly into kelowna then off to Salmon Arm
ayah
oops
Salmon Arm is a pretty little town -- we go over there to golf sometimes.
hi gang
last hour obs. at edm say 17 mph
evening, jilli! :)
hi jilli ((hugs))
sounds like its blowing harder than that
hi jilli
just back from a fun concert
we had gusts over 60 clicks today -- you'd have thought you were in southern Alberta!
we have a golf course almost right behind our back yard here
what was it like, jilli?
Hi Jilli !
I guess you guys are enjoying the wind we had earlier
who did you see/hear, jilli?
thought it was just banana
lol quiet dart
now this is a tough grid.
what concert jilli?
how come nyah isn't a word? lol
Don't know that I'd use the term 'enjoy" -- I was afraid, at one point, that the trees in the back yard were going to blow over on our roof!
i dunno mkg, i have the whole left column greyed out and have found an additional TEN words
I think so too mkg
dc, the Joe Trio -- very funny and clever Canadians who make beautiful music -- violin, piano, cello. They often perform on the CBC
my mom said they had that wind last night too
i'm with mkg on this one; i still have 44 left
i'll google them
got CBC growing up visiting family in western NY state, and in Montreal, but not so down here.
we had it last night with lots of rain but it let up a bit this aft and the sun came out. Where is your mom, banana?
Salmon Arm
too bad CBC doesn't get very far -- pretty good stuff mostly
I just wish you'd keep your weather to yourself, jilli!
or clues anyone???????????this grid is terrible.
well, nan, maybe wee get it from franmag!
hadn't thought of that!
Guess I'd better look at this grid -- I'm getting the impression it's a meanie
It is -- I caved in and went to the list with 37 to go
Good night all -- see you at tomorrow's flip :)
g'night nan, sleep well.
nite nana
nan
gn nan
hi all, been here a few minutes and have managed 11 words!!

hi MVA -- I have one word so far but really haven't tried
good evening all, late flip\
evening, flosey
you dont get to see all my typos when im finding the words
thanks dc -- I'll stick those in my memory bank. I never see the biggies
Hi Flosey
hi flosey!
hi flosey
one of the biggies is Irish.
6 tables tonight jilli
very surprising
wow, flosey! We thought it would be a tiny group! Was Irene there?
yes, she played with Ron, we thought we'd be lucky to get 4 tables
great icon, flosey
61 words and bedtime for me. Good night all. See you tomorrow. Night dart!
g'night banana
goodnight banana
nite banana
night banana
i've greyed a lazy L, excluding the left column :)
this does not look like a friendly grid !
good for you, dc!
I probably won't get this finished -- plan a shopping trip tomorrow
Just over halfway - having a break - see you later or tomorrow
hasta, lynxx :)
bye lynxxx!
bye banana bed time for me too nite all

hi all! I dont think I like this grid
"sweet but unpleasant in taste" i wonder what that's like exactly.
morning, ata!
hi ata! don't like it at all!
morning all...just another reminder..i dont think ive seen the southern hemisphere crew...if youre on face book..there is now a group called babblers world wide on face book..pls join
mrp is in the group, rolin, and so is herin, but i think that's it from the southern crew so far.
mait, no, my bad, not mrp. sprite :">
struggled up to 40, got to go, bye!
g'day, mva
ah yes...just saw the pics..*s*...and yours too dc...
did I hear my name?
flosey -- maybe Nanaimo, maybe not, lol
yes, i seemed to be start of the Western hemisphere
22 members! coooool!
nice jilli - have a good day
sorry it took so long to reply -- Cat wanted attention and these days she gets what she wants more than usual
yeah ata..it is cool...but im still beating the drum..
morning all... rolin, darling, do you remember what I said yesterday about not needing a new addiction! :)
morning, sprite, and it's fun there. :)
i reckon if ppl are close enough..it will make it easy to have a ballers get to gether
lmao...{{{{{HUG}}}} sprite....there is a thing such as a GOOD addiction...(its great isnt it??)
my cat is being very cool since I came back
it is, dc... but what were you saying about me just a minute ago?
facebook is so addictive and such a good way to waste time doing nothing!
that it was you, not mrp, that i saw in the babble facebook group.
true ata..thats why i have the shakespeare quote on my face page
so nothing bad, sprite. :)
hi sprite, ata, rolin
I LOVE facebook, rolin, and I love the group you started even more. I have no idea how I will make acceptable to the rest of my family the amount of time this will consume, LOL
when I have a bit of time I'll look in on the facebook thing
I knew it would not have been bad, dc, lol. Just curious... as a kitten. *hug*
i sent rounds of drinks out to my friends there today. :)
dc, have I added you as a friend yet? What is your name or handle there?
i'm dcseain, of course
or am i seain gutridge
hey jilli
i forget
usually dcseain
youre gutridge
am i?
*shrug*
seain gutridge
seain gutridge just friended you lol
*sigh*... the man has so many faces...
lol duly noted
lag!
wonderful, I just confirmed the friends'request. Woot!
sheesh, lots of phantoms and almost-words
not really rolin, online, i am dcseain, seain, benflyingrat, and now my first [really 2nd] name and last name.
yes, jilli, many, many phantoms.
LOLLLL Ata! Where did you find the vampire appl.... LOL
ah, ata, i was wondering who that was. :)
lol.. i like neflyingrat..
b*
oh, in one venue i'm flyingratthefarseeker, and in one other i'm salsaroja
oops..i think i need brakfast..lol
from a friend, of course ;)
HAH! Got you!
Aloha Babblers!
dc, just sent you a friend request too. :-)
hi Fran! *hug*
Aloha, Fran!
hey fran...lol..what IS that icon?
hi sprite, got your message too. :-)
great icon, Fran!!!
it's a one-way road to hell, it seems.
a place i don't want to go rolin. :-)
great Fran... sorry about the kiss, lol.
thanks sprite! i'm having fun with your icon themes.
hee hee sprite, you'll appreciate my reply i think.
so... now to enter some babble words. I can hardly believe anything is so much fun it keeps me from babbling! But this is.
I love what you are doing with them, Fran!
i opted out of this one for fear of offending a country.
lol dc, that's why i picked what i picked. i can't think of a place i wouldn't want to go.
whats the icon theme?
I am stuck--an5,10, the first one?
i'm trying to make a move in my scrabble game with ata...she is kicking my a**
I have several places I would never want to go. Like musea of concentration camps. I just cannot go there.
today's theme is a place you do not want to be rolin
an + spanish plural fem def article
oh, I wanna play with you too, Fran!
will start a game later today, ok?
thanks dc!
sure thing sprite.
I'm just giggling here, I haven't played Scrabble for *years* and have just managed to get good tiles so far!
rolin -- check my icon to get the theme
meanwhile, my tiles have been awful!
done
ata, it helps that you have a really awesome vocabulary. :-)
yay rolin!!
though maybe playing babble has made me into a better scrabble player *ponders*
congrats, rolin!
pretty icon, rolin!
srpite..ya know thats one one i do want to go...
yes, fran! hurray for babble!
YAY rolin!!!
ata, i'm sitting on a bingo, but i don't think i'll be able to play it...lucky duck
no..no..i havent finished..ive just changed my icon...lol..geez..im not THAT clever...
hi jilli! good icon
I'd love to go to Afghanistan. Though right now I wouldn't.
oops, sorry rolin
go fran! go fran!
oh -- yay anyway, rolin, lol
Ata, sure thing! We know words others (read: non-babblers) never even dream of. I haven't played Scrabble for at least 20 years now and it goes really well!
that's what i was thinking too ata, one day i hope it will be a good place to visit.
lol..ty jilli...ill keep that for future use..
scrabble could be fun, i've not played much in some years.
good one rolin! i thought of something like that too...really cold and thin air doesn't sound like fun for me.
and I've realised I take more pleasure in me or opponent having a *wonderful* word than winning the game
I meant I wouldn't like to go there NOW -- but if you check out the links there are other things not too attractive
i'll challenge you to a game dc...later. I have 11 games going now.
I will take rolin's place over concentration camps... and I am with jilli concerning the Afghanistan of NOW.
so do i ata...and if the chat were working you would have seen my comments. :-)
we can start a game later as well, if you like, dc!
what is site - need to see if i can access from here.
Ata, same here! We play scrabulous like we do babble... like a team :D
fran..for me its mountains generally...i just dont like being aware im high up...
it's within facebook dc, the scrabulous application
www.facebook.com dc :)
ah, okay. facebook is blockeed here, will have to do from home.
you could try the scrabulous site itself, I think
the great thing is the game is saved and you make moves when you can. it's pretty great.
oh, cool!
well i have this afternoon off...and my partner is away for a couple of nights...so i can see LOTSA scrabble being played here in the next 48 hours or so..lol
lol rolin
yay rolin! So we are gonna play a game as well?
sure sprite...when i get home after lunch..ill check to see if youre round..ok?
fran -- meant to say I love your icon too!
thanks jilli!
great rolin, and if I would not be around, can you please just start the game anyway? We can play move by move whenever we have time!
Celebes buffalo alert
absolutely..i love that bit of the game set up...im playing hurshy at the mo...oooohh shes such a tactical player..lol
yay jilli!
buffalo?
hurshy is SO smart
thanks jilli!
an4/4 rolin
ooooh i have that word...and didnt know it was to do with buffulo..i just thought it was a babblet
ooooh i have that word...and didnt know it was to do with buffulo..i just thought it was a babblet
Darn -- all this talk of scrabulous and facebook babblers and stuff is tempting and I haven't got time! I don't know how you busy people work it all in!
ooooh i have that word...and didnt know it was to do with buffulo..i just thought it was a babblet
new icon now. fran and sprite, you rock :) and my iconis of Antarctica. I would *love* to go there, but I don't believe that such pristine places should be opened up to rich kids going to poke at it cos its a cool (haha) place to go
Good Morning all........
oops..sorry
I agree, Ata! Great icon!
nice pic ata!
hi flask!!
and worse ata is the idea of opening up the arctic to drilling..
jilli, we don't... we just go there, play and have fun... and lament the missed chores later on ;)
Fran apologies for disappearing so suddenly last night....my carers arrived early so I had to just switch off......no rudeness was intended....
great icon, ata -- and btw, you make great pix for flickr
howdy, flask
urf yes, rolin
can't find the y's???? help!!!
I remember what you told me to do last night so am gonna go and do it now...
flask, don't think anything of it...i understand when real life calls. :-)
ty jilli! I've toyed for years about doing photography semi-professionally. One day I will!
yikes, i don't have any either lshult!
same here ishult!
Ata is one of the best pic makers I have ever seen.
y's? there are y's???!
*blush*
actually I have a beautiful new picture of Silverclaw to unveil today
ooh, the place i lived in Guam is there...Yona
yo4/6 is a hedgehog's name for me...
change last vowel of Fran's place for a valid word
alas poor yoric, he's not in enable without his k
what, sprite?????
yi5/16 you were getting up anyway.
yay Ata! Looking forward to seeing it!
jilli, what do you mean?
I mean I don't have a clue what your hedgehog clue is about, lol!
oh, that yo4 makes an adjective for another yo5/16
yi5/16 pie is a good clue too for the 1st one.
LOL jilli, I was afraid of that... it is probably a very weird association in my crazy mind. Take the place Fran mentioned and change last vowel for my hedgehog's name :)
that's vaguely familiar, sprite, what story is that from?
to me, the adj is closer to a hedgehog name
wish I knew, dc, it is just linked in my mind... hedgehogs are called this for me :)
cool :)
wait... it might be from Watership Down!
I've been trying to change fran's island and it hasn't worked. I think I missed something somewhere *scrolling back*
it is in the chat indeed, jilli. 2.04 am
bablet for a lady's private parts, putting it politely
ah, now I see...
oh, my. i read that....25 or so years ago. i don't recall any character names, though that is plausible
still working on dc's yi5, i found the other two, thanks all
no, not a char's name, dc... I think it is what rabbits call hedgehogs! Let me check
and bingo -- got a Y -- thanks fran and sprite
i hate it when words dont have a definition...it just means they cant be real words
go jilli go
hear hear rolin
which word, rolin?
I'm all the way up to 28 words, lol
the yi5/16..the first one
yep
rolin, the ? dictionary is rather limited. You can probably find a def on infoplease or another site for multiple dictionaries.
sheesh, finally figured out the pie clue...thanks dc!
google found no source for it using define: yi5/16
:)
dc, I cannot find the book right now, but I am pretty sure that is where I have the idea from. It is the Rabbit name for the animal.
if I have found the yi5, I will see if I can find a def, LOLLL
google is your friend :P he was a hedgehog
dc's clues were good, i just had to kick my brain into rhyming gear.
LOL Ata
i googled it sprtie..and all it said is that its a valid word..and can be found in the merriman dictionary...but you have to subscribe to use it online
ata, did you see my sad move in scrabble?
i'll ask a friend w/OED access to look it up.
Yona, a hedgehog who gossips a lot, gets El-ahrairah into trouble and helps him trick Prince Rainbow. The word also means "hedgehog" in general in the Lapine language.
you were right too!
oh, cool, ty ata
*runs to look*
may i get a 2nd letter for middle, solo, O if anyone has it?
ooooookay...im better shake my bootie outa here and get to work..ill probably be seeing you all this afternoon tho..bye all...
Morning, ata, dc, Fran, rolin
hi hydra!
off to bed, goodnight all
mine might be equally impressive, fran ...
not bad at all then, Ata... I feel happy with myself for remembering that :)
night flosey, sleep well!
hi all!!
night flosey! great icon by the way.
g'night flosey!
hi dee!
morning, dee!
hi hydra... sorry if I missed your entry, I am too busy being on several pages at the same time.
hey Dee! *hug*
bye rolin! have a good day!
bye rolin!
Oh, hi sprite. Didn't see you!
hug sprite
Dee, have you joined facebook already?
hi, hydra!
Hi Volleymom
DC, i don't have that O yet, sorry
*hugs hydra*
<<<hugs sprite back>>> I need hugs today. It's cold!
no sprite I have never been to facebook
hi hydra
*hugs* hydra
in that case, you get an extra one, hydra :)
Thank you :-)
this one looks tougher than yesterday
it is, dee
i'm finding it hard
Dee, rolin started a babble group there yesterday and it is wonderful! So much fun... hope you will join too. www.facebook.com and then the Babblers Worldwide group
I will definitely check it out...
Hello
hi lady
evening, lady! :D *hug*
I am not finding this grid easy at all, Dee
hi infernal!
Hugs
and hello
our daughter was in a car accident tonight driving home after a business meeting
hiii
the Js were easy :)
dee, is she okay?
How do you get onto the site, sprite? I got onto Facebook and typed in Babblers Worldwide Group and nothing came up.
omg Dee, how is she?
oh my! is she okay, dee?
Oh no is she ok?
search for it hydra
Volley is this the daughter that got recently robbed?
police made her go in ambulance to ER; think she is okay, but bumped head, ribs and abdomen very sore
yes
this has definitely not been her year
poor thing, she was the one who was robbed too, right?
Hope she'll be better soon, Dee. The poor girl!
was raining; highway was slick; hydroplaned; did a 360 into guardrail and then into ditch
sh?t and f?ck that is not good
yes
hydra, at the left under applications, there is Groups. If you click that, at the top of the page there is a box Search for Groups. If you enter babblers worldwide there, it works fine
Let me guess her car is not insured and written off?
Do you have to join facebook first?
I am so thankful no one else was involved and that she wasn't furt worse; not sure but car may be totaled
but it might not if you're not logged in, not sure. facebook is funny like that
I am so sorry, Dee. Will think of her and pray for her... sounds like she can use some loving and healing vibes!
car IS insured thank goodness; not paid off yet; large deductible
absolutely sprite!!!
oh... yes, that is quite possible, hydra, that the groups only are visible to people who have joined.
hubby drove 4 hours tonight to get her from hospital, get her home, stay tomorrow to get rental... he sounded so tired and weary over phone
That will explain it, Ata. I am not a member and just get a box that allows me to search, but groups don't come up, though I can find my daughter!
Daughter's facebook name is wildfirex666, which says a lot about her!
dee, my good thoughts and prayers go out to her.
amazing where daughters pop up :P
LOL hydra
becoming a member is free and fast, hydra. Hope you will join :)
Your poor daughter Volley. Hugs and light to your family Volley
ty so much fran... couldn't wait to get her to get your hugs and encouragment...
ty lady
You both must be feeling exhausted today, dee - you and hubby. Hugs from me, too.
*hugs Dee* He will be fine, promise... great he could be there for your daughter.
i finally found a high school classmate yesterday...it seems like everyone in my year is afraid of computers or something.
get here
just read, dee, happily, that's a generally minor-injury type accident most of the time, thoug she'll be sore for a while.
*hugs dee and family*
my HS class has a yahoo group, which we used to plan our very casual 15-yr reunion a few years ago.
sprite ... cooolest part... he just walked in door and said... I've gotta go... so true dc... fortunately er gave her pain meds for a few days
hurshy just had a similar accident and ended up with a little whiplash...her car was totalled too.
how is she now?
me had a 17-yr-old die, and 3 passengers injured hydroplaning off a narrow road into a tree the other day.
her dad found her the same car to replace it so she's happy.
that is why I keep thanking God she is safe... the car is unimportant
we, not me. sigh
DC what happened? sorry not following?
oooooh dc soooo sorry to hear that
*hugs fran*
How dreadful, dc.
the worst accidents here are with teens also it seems.
lone O is a lesser form of the O7
omg dc... that is so sad *hug*
wow takes your breath away
must feed my b.f back in a sec
thans
lady, teenager in maryland skidded off of rain-slick rd into tree, driver dead, 3 passengers injured, but in good condition.
dee, your daughter is lucky to have you and your husband.
later infernal!
yes, doe, she is. and i'm so thankful that she's okay.
aww and we, her... took me 10 years to get her LOL
for one sec I understood it was your 17 yo, dc... I am glad it is not the case, and am still very sorry for the girl and her loved ones.
I don't suppose dc could give a hint as to the OR words...?
ty all... big hugs to you all
lol Dee... see, I always make good on my promises!
I know!!
OR words all start like a whale, and are chemical compound(s).
or5 - big nasty Tolkien creatures + not out
jilli: or + where you to to see the movies (1st 3 letters) + when I am **d and wise. Plural for the 8, drop a few for the 5.
huh. i guess i am ald enough to have a 17-yrold. My grandfather did at this age. wow.
ty dc
lol knew I should open more words as soon as I saw this grid
yay! found the Os, thanks ata and dc!
I mean ty ata
are the other 7s as ugly as that one?
*mentally saving that OR to play against ata later. :-)
or 7 turns into or 8
and ty sprite!
no, the other two are easier. Well, the Irish may be ugly, depending on how well you know Irish toasts.
is it anything like french toast?
sl7 is irish; mi7 is a plural
groan, fran
:-)
hey, Irish are never ugly!
so 7's are: sl 7, or 7, and mi 7?
As soon as you said sl7 was Irish, I knew what it was, dc. Doesn't it mean 'cheers!'?
apart from when in 20 stone wedding dresses
yes, hydra, it does :)
I need one more tile with an entry so I can go to bed --the N in the top row -- anybody have it?
i beg to differ, sprite
that is not related to being Irish, Ata... that is plain madness :)
greek temple babblets, jilli
found the sl7, thanks to dc and google
actually, dc, I am of the opinion there are no ugly people!
still looking for mi 7 tho
thanks ata! haven't seen those for a while
of course, ata *dodging tuna*
you've never been to Southie, formally South Boston, though i agree with you in principle, sprite.
I'm dumb today. Just seen your post about toasts, dc and thought you meant the bread type. Think I'll go get some of that.
can anyone steer me toward the mi 7?
well, I am with you in so far that people can act incredibly ugly, dc...
mi6, will lead you to mi7. (don't tell the British)
lol hydra, you are never dumb
:) yay, consensus! Always a happy that.
hmm, need a different mi6 then
lol dc! *hug*
hmmm me too fran
I can't see the mi7 either so I'll return to the l's
back caught up now DC that is sad
wonder if I have correct mi 6
jewish prayer group, fran
Dee: mi + mixed up indefinite article + consonant.
oh gosh, that could be any random combination of letters, probably including h's

you'll find a ro5 family or so, too.
cool girl, there are some sixes starting with mi, all to do with something very small
ty

I am getting the cat done next week
flask: Group of ten Jewish men
lol that gallery is mine. I'm elegaer on deviantArt and most other places on the internets. mine all mine!
that's the most conservative definition of mi6/27
good for you, herin!
happy day, lady!
ty so much for explaining and sharing... what a lovely site. You are so very gifted and talented
Hi DC....ok...and the 6/24?
Ata its going to really going to fudge my finances but its really important
both mi6/24 build on the mi5/14 before - small/tiny
very important. ask your vet if they can give a discount, some certainly will if you really can't pay
thank you Dee! *blush*
ok thanks DC....
i got my cat neutered for next to nothing, as she was the 6th of her litter at the same vet.
I especially love Lothlórien
oh that moment was amazing, Dee. it was about 6am and the sun had just risen, I was all alone down by the river
I think most vets will compromise - saves them hassle down the road with litters!
flak, is your icon icon a pun?
Thank you so much for sharing with us!
must be off, guys, sorry. *hugs* and thanks for the great company!
Good morning all....just got about 10 mins before shopping!!
*hugs sprite*
hasta, sprite, may your day be lovely.
Hi and Bye sprite
morning, caitlyn
Morning dcs
morning
I also love Fantasia. I get lost in the majesty of God's creation and many of your pics express what words cannot.
Ata the local council has discount scheme that is a tiny bit off. If I was going to be bitchy about the cost i would never have accepted the fur bundle. OH and the vets name Dr Roach
Morning matt
morning, matt
hee, how entertaining, lady
*blushes more* TY Dee. I think I'm just lucky to have been to some wonderful places at the right times!
good for the council! thats very forward thinking
I appreciate your humility, but you have to have special "eyes" to see and capture those places and times. I truly wish you the best and most abundant blessings!
*shuts up and enjoys the praise* :D
I visited the office to see what they are like the even reminded me about the concession.
Morning Matt
A lot of our animal charities will do it for free, which I think is wonderful. Or for a minimal charge
its 9 27 am here!
Ata the stupid idiot cat society wont accept the discount or didnt even know about it. FFS they are the ones that have to destroy animals because of selfish owners
We have just adopted a puppy and she will be neutered for free
grrrrrrrr herin! wonderful cait!
i'm 5 hours behind you, matt.
Hi Caityln is this the cute one you were teling me about
spay/neuter here us usually free-$50 with adoption, normaly around $25.

I decided to join a womans only gym
yay! go fight the queues!
good idea, herin! those are great
i've heard good things about those on the whole, lady.
The lady that 'interviewed' me was lovely. Now i dont have to pay off my parents i can afford it
its much easier not to have men around. then you spend the whole time wondering what they are thinking of all your wobbly bits
Most of the time i go i dont give a toss about the blokes i just do my thing
Bet yes it is nice. The machines are new
anyone know the or8 word
or 5/7/8 all start with a whale, and relate to chemicals. The 8 is a plural.
and firewords!
You know that your friend lives in the middle of no where when Google maps dont reconise your desternation
thank you dc....and hello everyone
YAH DC
Congrats dc !!!!
yw, karys, and good morning
I wonder why it won't have a + j4/9
if you enter 2351 Millennium Ln in google maps, at least from a North American IP, it returns my house.
I know why...it should be a pl word shouldn't it ?
i think, karys, its ad + j4/9
oh yes, dc....I think you are right... perhaps it's too early for me !
Hey Dc i can see your house from here
it's the 7th one in that row from the cross-street.
oh, i'm tired, 6th one, not 7th.
Dc you at work
yep
Also on the awesomeness scale the gym has iced face towels and breaky in the am and tea and coffee and they are all girls

http://tinyurl.com/2nj4y8 sand car
http://tinyurl.com/2j7y32 cake car
i'd seen cake car before, i remember the sugar syrup as oil scene. :)
Is there just 3 MI 6s? please
yes, lady
Thanks i was wondering if everyone was drooling on the keyboad at cake car
perfervid \puhr-FUR-vid\, adjective: Ardent; impassioned; marked by exaggerated or overwrought emotion
nope, not quite.
otoh, i brought plenty of chocolate and what.
i'll be back in a few, need a break.

hiya DC

hi dc
Yes Becca I'm finding that too
Hi Becca
today was challenging, but not impossible
are you done then DC?
I have got 36 words
hi herin
yes, liz, about an hour ago.
yes, liz, about an hour ago.
well done you :)
wtg dc!
thank you
I wish we could have a grid with some good long words - haven't had any really long ones in ages
hello all you loverly folk. just popped in to note that my dentist says "onlay" IS a legit word (she's a great dentist with the softsweet caribbean accent that can lull better than most anesthetics, and a head of deep orange hair that adds a foot to her height). And I would vote for "trojan" as a common adj too. Is there a place to suggest new words for inclusion?
ok - time's up for me. bbl. bye all
I'm going to have to use the list - haven't had to do that in ages :(
ok bye Becca
hasta, becca
i'm happy to clue, if desired.
TY DC but I'd like to carry on alone at the moment! :)
:)
hey everyone
Good morning/evening all. bf, I think we've tumbled on the Marie Celeste.
morning, haz and bfsog
Morning, Haz.
Ah, there's stirrings afoot - hello there!
morning, jacula
Morning dcs, Liz et al.
argh, i be hungry, first mate, go get me some rum
hello again....just back from marinading chicken, but it hasn't given me any inspiration for the last 39 words I'm afraid, so as an inspirational remedy I can state, it doesn't work !!!
Oh dear, am I going to have to talk like a pirate as well? I'm not very good at it.
wb, karys
Good Lord! My cat just said exactly what bfsog did. I'd better feed him (the cat) and not on rum. BBS.
Hello Karys.
See you later Jacula.
haz: im glad someone noticed my pirate-esque dialogue
Oh, I did indeed.
I take it the Marie Celeste reference set you off?
Haz...just had an email from my daughter I would love to share with you, I found it really funny !
heh
set me on sail!
okay, karys, praytell
Karys, go ahead.
ooooo....my new mobile has just arrived !
Not the iphone?
yay!
I'm sorry, it's all photo's so I would have to send it on
Okay, my name, all lower case at hotmail.com.
No.. Haz... I have enough trouble with the ordinary, no chance with anything complicated !!
my handle here at gmail.com
Bear with me both !!
I'm with you, Karys, the prospect of getting one of those would not be a happy one.
It's hard to find a mobile 'phone that is simple these days; most do a song, a dance and make tea! In fact, it's hard to find anything that simply does what it's meant to these days. We needed a new kettle not long ago and there were 19 pages of the things in the Argos catalogue: ones that whistled, ones that changed colour, oh, all sorts. Took a while to find one that simply boiled water.
use a pot and a cooker ring!
I went to buy a printer and came away with a scanner, printer and photocopier, so I know what you mean.
IT whistles, changes colours, boils water, brews tea, and pours it in your cup while waltzing across the table!!!
Haz - I have one of those, but they are v. handy - there's even a slot for your camera chip and a memory stick. The newer ones incorporate fax facilities, too.
won't accept you email address Haz
It's my full name, look in the profile for it, Karys, rather than haz1558.
It has been useful already, Jacula, daughter uses it for her school work preparation etc.
Haz - If it's one of the HP Photosmart family be sure NOT to pull jammed paper from the front but only from the removable slot at the back. We had to buy a new HP after only 6 weeks after son/daughter/ex-hub (they're not admitting which) did that. Repairs would have cos about £80.
It IS one of the HP family, and since daughter is heavy-handed (she thinks kicking things is a good way to get them working again) I'll be sure to warn her.
Please do, Haz!
Come to think of it, heavy-handed and kicking doesn't really make sense, does it?
She seems to store up all her frustrations with children to take them out on technology at home.
Haz - I just thought she did both. LOL. (Hitting the telly used to work with the old valve sets.) Never kick a cooker whilst wearing slippers. I made that mistake once. It HURT.
rebooting does rather make more sense than kicking/poinding
back in a bit..got to charge the new phone, youngest still here at the moment to put me right etc !!!
Good night i was in the grid
See you later, Karys. Charging the phone shouldn't be too bad.
Karys make sure that the phone is off and charged for the recomended time (usually 16) to fully charge the dratted thing as they dont like half arse charging
'Night, Herin.
I'll bear the no kicking the cooker thing in mind, Jacula.
later, karys
you're in the grid, lady?
I was trying to find words that and gym membership prices for comparison
*Now imagines Haz donning steel-capped boots to kick various household appliances.* :D
Dont do that either it dints the fridge
Either that, or padding of said appliances.
No, I'm more likely to take the dog for a walk. She doesn't answer back.
Oh, I'm being miaowed at. Cat wants to go out. BBS.
I got real mad one day and kicked the fridge WITH steel cap boots, put the door out of shape
as long as you didn't put a hole in it.
No it was a real old and sturdy thing
Right, back again, yes herin, going to be good and not cut corners on the charging time.
good, that
wb, krays, that was very cute.
Same could not be said for my bruised toe when i kicked a 'plaster board' wall with my trainers on (the wall was concrete)
Karys a girl i know bought her new fone and its stuffed already as she didnt charge it the full time
Just going to drink my coffee then I have to do packed lunch for youngest.
7s and 8 clues pretty plz......
Made me laugh dc, I have 3 sons !!
Karys, they're priceless, especially the last one!
Yes herin, daughter's boyfriend did the same, even after she had told him !!
I still pack my lunch when i go to work (WHEN :)
I can't oblige, movieman, sorry.
Thought you would appreciate it Haz !
I can look at my daughters in new light now.
Karys he can fix that. Flatten the phone till the point were it wont turn on at all then recharge the full 16 hours
Haz - can you forward Karys's mail on to me?
I will Jac if you like
Yes, I'll do my best. If you hear me kicking something, you'll know what has happened...
thank you herin
hello - again
hi lynxxx
NIght all and hi lynxx
hello, lynxxx
g'night lady, sleep well
I just took a photo of 3 of of guinea pigs all sitting in a furry pile. Not sure if it will show up through mesh but they moved when I opened the hutch door. I'll put the pic in flickr if it turns out.
Thanks, Haz.
dc, can you clue the m6 & 7 for movieman please ?
Incidentally, I've got some pics in there from the wedding I went to on Saturday.
Nite herin
mi6/27 is a gathering of at least 10 jewish men for prayer, mi7/40 is the plural.
of course! TY DC
thank you...I thought you had said something like that
Isn't technology great? I think I've done it okay.
or5/7/8 start with a whale, and are all related chemical terms; the 8 is plural.
it's a word I hadn't come across before
it sometimes has a different vowel in the 2nd syllable than what it has in today's grid.
Haz...a little thrill of pleasure !
Thanks, Haz. I'll go and check.
technology is rather amazing, we very much live in the future.
Yes, but you know it won't last. Just set me to texting and see me crumble.
I had only heard in the context of someone's attendants
texting takes some getting used to. I had the cabability on my mobile for nearly 2 years before i really used it.
then it has a different spelling
My secret to texting is to count the letters as I go along
It doesn't help when you see daughters going at a furious rate while texting. I'm one letter at a time, punctuation and everything. And the letters are so small!
mi6 can differ in the last vowel, yes, and is spelled quite differently from the servents/attendents word in English.
I have to have the punctuation too, I'm a bit precise, but I think I am getting a little looser !
i've gotten looser about both spelling and puntuation - though i still like my commas - in texting
Do you use any of the wee pictures?
emoticons? yes :)
very rarely....I find them a little too 'wee' !
LOL I'm a txt virgin, can't even turn off predictive txt! ... and Good morning :)
I suppose I could always read the manual.
I am as bad with texting as I am here with my .......'s I afraid.
Good morning FMitch. How are you today?
goodmorning FM !
morning, FMitch! i like predictive text, myself
Hello there Mitch...how are you ?
Hello, FM.
good morning everyone
I hate predictive text !
Good morning Eva.
GM e1
Hello hello, fine thanks on this chilly day. Had to pop in for 5 mins but can't stay long.
hello Eva
yeah, it's a like it or hate it thing it seems. i know no one who is neutral onit.
morning, eva!
what is predictive text? Have never text messaged in my life.
Haz - It worked. LOL. Thanks for sharing the fun, Karys. BTW, the lad looking at the lady's chest - they never grow out of that!
I have an email to forward to you Mitch, will do it now
Asked earlier but I guess there was no one to answer. Is there a way to get the Grid Genie to allow more words? Im getting the feeling this grid is in a new language: I'm certain of ONLAY, and pretty sure TROJAN is a common adj, and if samurai is acceptable, why not RONIN? feel a little frustrated with the permitted "extra" instead of the .....ordinary.
soz, CUl8tr!!!!!
Same here Eva. Predictive, takes what you type in and anticipates what word you mean - can be very funny.
I hate predictive text! It never predicts correctly. I keep it turned off.
I HATE text gobbledegook!
BBL
Hi jwr Dr_G uses the Enable dictionary as the DB for Babble and it is a little out of date so not a lot we can do Im afraid.
jwr - you sound like you're ready to kick something. You could always try e-mailing Dr_God to express your fury.
YMMV, liz. (your mileage may vary)
YMMV, liz. (your mileage may vary)
It never predicts what I want !
Hi jwr - no there isn't. Part of Babbles charm is to guess what words it will accept! Apparently the dictionary it uses has not been updated for a few years
down arrow to get other words those keys can spell.
The first time Paul sent me a text with 'cul8r' in it I had no idea what he meant!
But by the time I've done all that, dc, I can do it myself
and if it makes you feel any better, jwr, lickety, who does likcety's babble clues, uses the latest enable, and he never comes out more than 6 words ahead. Enable is not the most complet dictionary.
Karys - I'm with you on that. Oh, and I punctuate texts, too.:)
Isn't it nice to know that we are not on our own Jac !
It is, Karys.:-)
enable is...quirky
I've concluded that this is one of those grids that leads you up blind alleys. You think you're on your way to a good word, then, bang. A brick wall.
LOL @ email Karys
I was so surprised that the choo choo wasn't there !
Full-face helmet needed then, Haz!
Glad you liked it Mitch :)
I know, my nose is going to look like a boxer's at this rate.
Thnx for the responses. That was all I needed to stop me from as Haz said kicking the furniture, which would be a very bad thing to do since I it's someone else's gorgeous victoriana -- I live in what will become a guest house. Anyway knowing I can't do anything about it is second best to having a solution and waaaay better than not knowing. You're such a neat bunch.
Well, thank goodness we've spared furniture from abuse!
It's a good job we are not penalized for constantly reentering words that aren't there !
indeed so, karys!
Like - ronion and onion, Karys? Yes.
laughing fences replaced by brick walls, babble can be a harsh place sometimes. jwr, I lov your descriptive writing of your dentist in yr original posting.
I know it's frustrating, but what always comforts me is that everyone else is in the same boat, and NOT getting any points from a perfectly good word.
You've been down that road too then Jac ?
Right Haz. But the pets are cringing in the corner...
Yup, Karys.
Oh, spare the puppy!
Don't hurt the cat!
16 left to find. Think I'll take a break.
right, have to pop and do said packed lunch, bbl
See you later, Jacula - and Karys.
hasta, jacula and karys
You know things are bad when you're looking for h to make crwth.
i wanted the m and s for cwms
Bye Jacs and Karys
There's a black bird and some ro5/14 headwear, Haz.
dc, have you been scribing recently?
See you later. (cul8r). Byeee.
bye Jac
i've begun drafting for another aronud, FMitch, so soon i shall.
oh, such mundane ideas of what contitutes a pet! These are imaginary (because of the furniture) For FMitch, there's a picture you can judge for yrself at terecitadean dot etc.
Got the bird and the headgear (bowing in the general direction of Buckingham Palace)
at least if i can spell :)
Oh, imaginary pets? This furniture must be something else.
also an Italian farewell
lol dc, will look forward to that.
Wow you weren't wrong about the hair jwr, I'd be mesmerised whist she drilled.
haz, have you the collection if tiny thingns - there are three, including 2 6/24s.
Solid walnut for the most part, polished hardwood floors, rich carpeting, antique fixtures and bricabrac -- learning to take care of it & yearning for a puptent in the yard. With a pup, o'course. The grid may not be kind -- certainly not tonight -- but you all are. Giving up so I can get up at a reasonable hour.
It sounds very grand, jwr and I'm sure they'll appreciate you taking good care of it. Sleep well!
g'night then, jwr, we will see you another time. Pleasant dreams!
nite jwr
Good grief, it takes Gaelic for 'cheers'
Bye jwr. Should I too be sensible and depart this happy land...?
No, hang being sensbile and stick around.
Ta, Haz, fmitch et al. Leaving with 20 to go but too much full of new obscurities. As someone says, most appropriately ... and I hope I may flatter by appropriating: *poof*
Bye!
byeeeeee...
LOL Haz OK, till 12 and then I too shall *poof* and turn into the vegetable soup making, washing up and essay finishing multi tasking whirlwind. Phew got tired just saying all of that!
You've grown an extra arm, then?
Necesity sped up the evolutionary process
And how are you finding the clothes buying?
Ah, the purchase of new aparel (sp) has declined as a surfeit has been reached for now and the bank balance needs to be given a chance.
I meant with the extra arm!
I think my New Year resolution is going to be 'improve my spelling' ROFL oh dear.
Well, I can usually follow your thought patterns, at least.
To change the subject, did you watch 'My Boy Jack' on Sunday evening?
Thank goodness for that dear heart! No I missed it, was it as good as it looked it was going to be?
hi :)
Hi Ata, good walk?
cold adn wet!
It was. But my curiousity was stirred by a lesser character ' Corporal O'Leary' - perhaps because he had an Ulster accent. When I tried to find him, via internet, I came across a VC winner, Lance-Corporal O'Leary and am now wondering if they've merged the two characters.
Urgh you have rain?
Hello Atalante!
drizzle and cloud adn wind
but the beach was still nice!
How interesting Haz, I also managed to miss the Poliakoff that was on last night too
You'll find it all worthwhile when you get the Degree of Glory.
Beach and November, just dog walkers this time of year I would guess?
I'm really cross, I watched the first half of the Poliakoff programme about a library of photos - Shooting the Past - and managed to miss the last part :(
ohhhh yes, only mad walkers at that
Do mad walkers have a gleam in their eye and a determined step?
I have to stand up and admit that I watched some of the new Im a Celebrity lat night.
most definitely
and they only have Large Dogs. no foofy dogs on the beach in november
Did you know any of them?
So, mad people with large dogs. And you wonder why the beach is otherwise deserted.
Back again
lol yes. and there were Very Big Dogs today. 2 HUGE Belgian Shepherds
Welcome back, Karys. Phone charging, as per instructions?
Did Hobbit feel intimidated?
Had they lost their sheep?
I watched ' My Boy Jack'...can't take Poliakoff, and at the moment love Strictly !!
I think numbers are influenced by the aversities of w's
Phone charging beautifully Haz, it's a very nice looking thing, it's purple !
Hobbit just ignored them as they barked like crazy at her! She's a gooood girl
Hello BabbleRabble
Oh, purple - it would match Hobbit's best collar.
hello, peoples
Just for Sunday's and special occasions Haz ?
Hobbit is very proud of her purple collar
hello Babble
Hello Babble!
Hi Babrab
hi im jack wang
Spangle just has a plain old brown leather one. She is a dog of simple taste.
hello Jack
how u doing lynxxx?
Hobbit's was sent to her specially from the US!
Well !!...Ata, what can one say !
I bet she has a glitter one stashed away for those Baileys moments
Nobody loves Spangle enough to send her anything from the States.
LOL :D I've found a distinct lack of purple collars in this country
good thanks jack - 1st time here?
I sent her a pic of a bone but it's not the same is it?
I am going to New York shortly, would you like one bringing back for Spangle Haz ?
yeah howd u guess
yeah howd u guess
yeah howd u guess
Not quite the same.
the pic of the bone is sitting proud above her food bowl!
Oh, Karys, you're very kind! Setting off on your travels again?
Well, how about if I sent it whilst I was there, would that count do you think ?
3mins before poof time * le sigh*
Karys that last comment was for me
I just don't know if purple would be Spangle's colour....
Gold Lame would work for Spangle
Feel good, taking my girls to New York for their Christmas presents ( not normally so extravagant !!)
lynxxx you little minxxxx i asked you a question
Irish tartan
What a Christmas present!
Would you adopt me for a week or so Karys, never been to NY.
Spangle needs 'spangles'
Maybe spangles for Christmas Day?
sorry Jack, concentrating on last few words
Haz could sew sequins to an ordinary collar!
Do you want me carried off to the Home for the Bewildered?
Haz..Haz.. SEW... what are you thinking of Ata !!!
you're not already there?
I suppose you could glue them on
No, I've managed to hide under the window every time the men in white coats have called.
anyone here from bourne, england?
Passes Haz, put of glue, you'll be OK with that. Just make sure it's all dry before you put the new collar on Spangle.
*pot
Where's Bourne?
Lincs, I think
Well, I suppose I do have a hot glue gun.
And there's a reason why it's advertised as 'hot glue'.
Just popped back in
Now there's a thought Mitch....how about beaded collars for dogs ?
Hello hydra.
hello Hydra
Why have you such a dangerous thing? LOL Karys!
BOURNE?????
I get a warm fuzzy feeling looking at your and Karys' icons, Haz
aaahh...it's nice to feel useful hydra
That's nice to know, hydra.
thats a great idea, Karys!
Where is it then, Jack? I thought Bourne was in Lincolnshire! Educate me.
obviously not in LIncs LOL
Evil thought, make a collar out of dog biscuits and treats, drive dog nuts.
Its in linconshire
I've just googled it. it IS in Lincs! Unless there are two Bournes.
Husband sometimes tucks a rawhide bone into Spangle's collar. He is evil sometimes.
LOL always liked Mr Haz
He's usually very kind, but likes to get Spangle into a frenzy of excitement sometimes.
Races up and down the hall, that kind of thing. Chasing her and pretending he wants her bone. Hiding behind settees and grabbing her leg as she goes past.
Finished - that was a toughie, haven't had one of those for ages. Any clues before I go?
Hello everyone.
Congrats Lynxxx
I put gravy bones on Hobbit's back
Congrats lynxxx !!
Hi Scrabbler
Congrats lynxxx
Congratulations lynxxx. I've given up looking for the minute.
It sounds like Dr Haz is also a puppy.
yaya congrats BOURNE is in linclonshire
Hello Scrabbler.
Hi Scrabbler et al.
hello Srabbler
He's an overgrown child, Scrabbler!
Yahoo Lynxxx. A toughie? Well, I am diving in anyway.
hello bichon
TY Jack!
And hello bichon.
I see you didn't remind me when midday came and went. My time to poof is nigh. *Poof*
Me too, Hazel. That's why I am a pediatrician--I sit on the floor and get silly with the kids.
OK bye everyone..have a great day
with spaniels, you can also tie gravy bones to the bottom of their ears using their feathers
I wondered when you were going to realise the time, FMitch - bye for now!
Bye Lynxxx, hi Bichon
1 word left, the yi. Can't see it anywhere.
bye Mitch
Haha, Ate.
Scrabbler, the picture is of my new little grandaughter. Do you like the newborns or the silly kids?
Byeeeee See you later
Byee Mitch. I'm off, too. *poof*
bye dear!
I LOVE newborns--so miraculously perfect. I often still tear up when examining a newborn. My favorite age group is about 3-6 yrs--hilarious.
What is the baby's name and birthdate?
I should go too. I'll be back later with a crowbar for the grid.
Are we scaring off the UK crowd?
Yes.,. I best go and do 'something'...bye Haz and all
I went with daughter to the baby's first pediatrician visit. The doc seemed so happy examining her. Is it all fun like that?
baby talk is always scary :P
Ata - can you go onto IM for 2 mins, have a quick question pleease
A baby is God's opinion that life should go on. Carl Sandburg.
The kids are all fun, except for many adolescents and all uncivilized kids. I like most of the parents although some are quite difficult.
Why, Ata?
I like that quote, BR!
babies! ew! scary! they poo! LOL
Ok forgot about the teeners. Scratch pediatrician off my life goal
I work at a university and even the older teensw can be offsetting
Ata, I have no kids myself, and never will, just bunnies, but I still love kids. I never wanted to be a parent.
I'm trying FM!
I think I'm babyphobic. Is that possible?
I want to smack most teens. Yesterday though I saw 4 exceptional ones and I told them that. Some parents get it right and do the hard work to create great kids.
Being a parent can be very challenging, but grandparenthood it the sweetest
Sure, Ata--babies are helpless, dependent creatures requiring total care and they cannot communicate other than crying.
I have enjoyed being an aunt to my 3 nephews.
I have never held a baby, actually I don't even think I'd have a clue how to hold one LOL
~!~!FIREWORKS!~!~
Yahooo, Kris!
Ata, then you need to become desensitized by handling one.
Off to work. Later to all
Bye, Bichon.
I know it's bizarre, but I have a real soft spot for adolescents (as long as they're not living in my house). I find them funny, and courageous even in their often outrageous ways of trying to find their own way in the world. I worked with teenagers for much of my professional life.
TY Scrab
ew no, it might poo LOL or jump out my arms and fall on the floor or something
not just babies, people poo; pets poo; it is a poos world
the joys of having a small family with no cousins etc!
Good for you, Eva. With teens one must find something they like or are good at and talk about that. I like many teens, but some are so darn rude---really they are just toddlers all over again.
I do like children though when they are old enough that you can reason with them
I must get ready for work. I shall return later this afternoon. Enjoy the day.
In a group they are often rude, but individually a lot of that drops, and they are so unused to anyone really treating them with respect and interest that when you do, surprising things can happen.
I agree Eva
this grid is impossible! Much more frustrating than adolescents!
I love young children (2-6, with two year olds being my ab. fave) but even as a teenager myself I have never enjoyed or appreciated people of my own age. Anyone within ten years of me tends to drive me up the wall.
yi5 rhymes with mi5/14
yo5/16 rhymes with so5/12
(just thought I'd toss those out! LOL)
good tossing
:-D
I don't have the so 5/12...

FIREWORKS!:-) My last word was so4/9.
congrats; Jacula
Yeah Jacula!
ty Jac! yay!
Good morning!
Was it a hard grid Jacula? I've only just gotten here, but nothing is popping out at me.
Thanks. Have to go again now. Might be back to clue later. In the meantime, don't drink too much ri5/20.
Medium hard, Merk. I enjoyed it and I didn't have to use the list, though was tempted at 11 to go.
thats allowed? wow
TTFN.
The grid has its challenges, but don't they all.... I just do it
ty
Ata - Yes. So's the Gaelic for 'Cheers!' (sl7/28).
Really off now. Byeeee.
off now too. lunchtime!
**tap tap** Is this thing on?
hi, all. there is a bird cr4/9 in the grid today; if you make that cr4 a monarch by putting a cr5/20 on it's head, it will be ro5/14.
good morning
thank you Angelsong, and good morning
ata..when you get back..its your move...
mi 6,24 the second one, please
Hi Merk, sorry but I don't have it.
Nothing is working for me. I can become illogical, stuck on one way to go. I think the first three letters have to be like the first three mi 6,24 before it because it cannot be like the mi 4 after it.
I only have 3 mi words and they are all 4 letter ones
i have one mi6/24...and its very very small..
Thanks anyway, Mom. Rolin, that is the one I have.
and its not the plural
thanks Rolin
No, there is an mi 6,24 immediately after the mi 6,24 we both have. The mi 4,5 immediately after limits what you can have alphabetically in that slot.
so how many mi6/24s are there?
Two right in a row. There's another 6, but it's way down, a 6, 27
Oh, dah, the two mi 6,24 are connected. One is a plural and the other ends in a vowel.
Sticky brain here
you good now, Merk?
Yes, I am, ty
You, too?
:)
oh good..cos you got me very confused..lol
36 words left, but it's time for me to take a walk. Back later!
Morning Babblers
good morning Nono
bye bye Angelsong
bye bye Angel
Time to get busy, I have a date with the mop. See everyone later. Hugs to all

You have started such a nice community with the Worldwide site, rolin. Thank you!
Hi rolin - whats the name of the scrabble site?
Hello, scarydeb!
*s*...yeah...im glad so many have picked it up...i think face book is terrific..and as i said..it should make it easier to get in contact with ppl..in case ppl wanted to have a bable get together
hi scarlet - I have just joined the facebook group
going to look at facebook
Wonderful, scary... I am a friend! Annie, it's so easy, even I was able to do it!
scarey deb its an application thru face book.. if you go to my face page you;ll see an icon with 's' on it..click that..it will scroll down to my scrabble section..and youll see the add in the right top corner.. click that and it will take you to the add application page
and TY babrab...i have greyed the s with your help
thanks rolin, i'll give it a go
well done
BR-r... I was on the outer periphery of the chat this weekend as I quickly did the grid... You came home at the same time that many of my fresh-faced young friends did, too... but in body bags. Thank you for your service.
Yes, I was one of the fortunate ones
On reflection, that may debatable, BR-r, but I do not want to open any deep veins of sorrow... I do feel gratitude.
Hello all
facebook folks - I created a "fan page" for Babble at http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id =7336571860
mornign peri...
Good morning, {{{peri}}}... how is your friend?
Hello, dan2bit... I will check it out later!
don't know, have not heard anything yet,
Each day is new opportunity to choose to live, strive, help and honor those that make your life meaningful
my guess is that the procedure started later than planned and that she got home very late. I am trying not to worry
Okay, peri... I kept a good thought last night!
okay, I tried to join facebook but recd a message saying there was an acct with my name. I never tried to join before unless I am in a deep blackout but I do not think so. I wrote to facebook and explained my dilemma.
thanks, Scarlet
what is this about facebook?
peri, rolin can explain it better....rolin, where are you?
Exactly, BR-r... we must turn the page and devote ourselves to the gratitude of being able to feel the worst, but weigh it with all of the highly positive... the scales tip to the latter every time.
Good morning/afternoon all. I'm back with crowbar for this grid.
Hi Haz
Hi Haz!
Peri, go to FaceBook, and look for groups... there is a Babbler Worldwide Wall to sign in... and join. Good day to you, Haz!

yippe yay, lizmac!!!
Good morning, Nono... I am taking my time with going to the links... I'm dense with the WWW. Yahoo for lizmac!
Later, Flying Aloy... Who was that masked woman?
I asked for a new password at Facebook and was told there is an acct with with my name...is it the wrong first name and i cant get into the site....*sigh*
Urf... Annie, Sprite made an account with "Sprite Babble", so you might want to be AnnieBrooklyn... if that helps.
And make up a new password.
You don't have an unusual last name, AnnieB, so I am certain that the site is accustomed to redundant lisitngs...
scarlet.....cant get in....will try another time.....
well..there.. I amanged that... so i have greyed the left column, made coffee and managed to join the babble group on facebook
Yahoo for kattie... I will look for you, and add you as a friend... yeah, like that's off the wall... LOL
woohooo carlee is multitasking today
Okay, Annie... don't frustrate yourself... you need your brains for Babble! :-)

The weather girl mentioned that we might have a minor, passing shower... but, I'll take it too, Une!

did you hear about the restrooms at the U of GA game this weekend? To conserve water, patrons weren't allowed to flush . . . there were people assigned to the restrooms to flush "as needed" . . . eeeewwww
That's just the beginning of extreme measures that Georgia and soon, NC and SC will have to observe...
FYI: Uust got a phone call from y friend. Her arteries are clean!!

ty

Ri5/14 - sounds like what the queen is.
Thanks Sandie

an 6/18?
To bless with oil, bichon
ty Scarlet
Hi there Scarlet......how are you?
Darn it, trojan is not allowed... it's worth a try in Babble, anyway... you never know. You are welcome, Bichon!
don't get the blessed oil clue... I don't have that one either.. another try?
Hello, dear Flask... I am seeing pink elephants, dear! LOL
an + a sound similar to that which a pig makes. (Last letter is different)
AN + plus the word that a pig says, changing the last consonant to a T
LOL, Uniquity... great minds... LOL
Oh good...lol....
{{{Hugs to my dear Scottish friend}}}
oh.. fish me please
LOL, ruru.... not today!
Oh thankyou.......!
:-)
ruru - this grid is full of fish today, ;)
thanks you two
:-)
last s the so 5/12?
Omigosh... I feel very thick today...
Think of a hedgehog....popular in video games
in 5?
nm, hgot it
sorry I am too old for video games
Like mother-of-pearl in a pretty jewelry box, bichon
Like jets, ruru... superso***
thanks Scarlet
so5 - the sort of boom created by Concorde.
You're welcome, bichon. Hello Haz!
anyone know the 1st an5/10?
fish again...is it friday yet
thanks HAZ
no-one is too old for video games!
Not quite, ruru!
I'm back from delivering Spangle to the dog groomers. When I get her back she'll be even more gorgeous.
Impossible, Haz!
Nineteen more words...this is torture
awwwwww! she definitely needs a spangly collar then
an5/10 - an plus the first letters of a Scots girl, or an incredibly talented movie dog.
I have 44, Uniquity... and having a good time prying them loose.
Scarlet, they have the most wonderful dog shampoo. She'll smell better than all of us, I promise.
ta haz
I must take you at your word, then, Haz... I know she will be more fragrant than I... that's a fact!
You're welcome.
my 5/16?
Now I start to wonder. 'What has Scarlet been doing?'
my: plural of the 4,7
Plural birds, ruru
isn't that the 18?
Digging out the compost bin, Haz... rotating the organic materials to breathe properly... and I am whooped out from that job!
No, ruru.
Well, that certainly explains things, Scarlet.
oh I need the 18 then...
got it
Perhaps Miss Spangle would recommend a good human groomer to bring me up to snuff... or, sniff as the case may be!
fireworks
I believe it is a variant on the spelling of the bird (still the 4,7)
thanks I thought I had the 18 because of the plural
it was the 16
Congratulations then!
lots of birds and stuff on the board
ni5,20 please
She'd love you just the way you are, Scarlet. She loves to really get stuck into an 'interesting' smell.
ni5,20: Think teenage turtles
especially badger poo
Then the dear doggie would have a literal field day with me... LOL, Ata... sorry, fresh out of that little ditty~
Or dead birds.
oh yes, Hobbit did that today
Oh, yes... dead birds and dead deer are a wonderland...
Thanks, didn't even notice that other hight point letter
Oh, no... do you bathe her right away, Ata?
She'd just snuff and snort and stick her nose ever closer. As if she can't believe just how good it smelled the first ime.
in5/14 anyone?
need one of the na4,4's. have the one with three vowels.
luckily the dead bird was mainly bones. so not a lot of smell. but she's going to have a bath when I've finished the grid
YOU HEAR THAT HOBBIT? YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE A BATH!
Even bones hold on to that delightful gristle... Haz, you ruined Ata's surprise!
she loves baths!
luckily
in5: in + *** down a bet on something (or a variant on a way to place tile)
Waves of smugness have started. Her dog likes a bath.
You ARE lucky, Ata. I am fortunate that my old cat is wonderful when I bathe her...
How often do you bathe your cat, Scarlet?
Smugs of coffee all around...
na4: na + cha** is above hell in Paradise Lost.
haven't tried bathing the cat yet though
Usually, about every six months... unless she has been poking about in the basement, and has rolled in all of my bulbs drying out on a screen... then emergency measures are necessary.
The cat of glory gets done once a week.
she does??
Yes, apparently.
LOL... no ordinary American cat may deign to reach that gloriousness...
*stunned into silence*
i don't know cha**
still being dim about in5/10 lol
Not having a cat, I have no idea about these things, but I thought it was more often than normal.
IN+ what you do in bed, Mitchell... you don't sit, you ***
Nope, I am pretty certain I just can't clue...two failures in a row. Someone help please?
well Sily's 2 and she's never had a bath!
Mitchell, in5/14 - in plus what a chicken does to an egg.
lol, ta
That IS a bit much, however...
no baths for my kitties
na4/4 - na plus a distress signal, minus the first letter.
got it Haz, you can clue Uniquity, i just didn't know Paradise Lost. thank you.
My old gal was spayed when she was five months old, and has reached a very large size... she does not overeat, but her doctor said that she is genetically predisposed to largeness... so, I must bathe her regularly to keep a nice, shiny coat... and her daily brushings are a ritual that she adores!
Well done deb.
I knew Paradise lost. Can I be smug?
She sounds like a happy cat!
Absolutely Ata
LOL... Ata, anyone who invites me to join a Vampire sect is okay in my book!
Yes, Atalante, your smugness quotient stays at record levels.
many of you can be smug, you're smart:)
wooooot :)
Look who's talking, deb!
Okay, the siren call of the kitchen has reached my stomach... will be back eventually, but have a spectacular day, ladies!
oh, i think i ask for more than my fair share of clues and don't clue to many for others.
bye red
*too
mi6,27 please
hello all
Cheerio Scarlet!
deb, there is no measurement for such things... Haz held my hand for many months when I first started... she even stayed up one night until after midnight (her time) to help me with a particularly difficult grid.
hi lideola, i need that mi too bubba
ok..i have 18 to go..*deep breath*..can someone clue me the no6 &6 pls
*Waving ta-ta
does anyone else miss the obvious words on the PITA boards like this one?
I get clues from my Mum when I am terribly stuck and use the AtoZ dictionary every day
mi6/27 - first three letters of the skirt length pioneered by Mary Quant, last three letters, the opposite of aye, but backwards.
I try to compensate by cluing, makes me feel better :)
no5 - looks like no to a Spanish river, female, and then plural.
so busy trying to find the obscure that I become blind to the obvious... like the ri4/5- probably the most common grain in the world, didn't get it until i opened lickety
got it Haz, great clue
your mum plays, uni?
LoriP is my mum
Her mum is LoriP. Didn't you know?
Now I can feel smug....
Thanks Haz
You're welcome.
still didnt get mi6/27 haz
oh! never realised that!!
It sounds a lot like a helper or worker (usually a servant to an evil boss like Dr. Evil)
OKay, try first three letters of Mickie Mouse's girlfriend, last three letters, take the fifth month of the year, spell it backwards, but make the m one further on in the alphabet.
*slaps head*...ty haz...i had just used that word in scrabble..and still didnt see it
Poor head - hopefully you didn't hit yourself too hard?
i didnt realise thats how u spelt minyan lol, i thought it was minyon
nah.... couldja believe it...i have been described as hard headed,,lol
Here's my theory. It's the sort of grid that leads you up so many blind alleys that you just end up confused!
oops mitch
Mitchell, not supposed to put the word in the gird
This is a different meaning, though, Mitchell.
The one I referred to is actually minion...I was just giving the sound, sorry to confuse
an 6,18 please
I can't think of what to call my latest pic. Stuck
i think my life is actually over after putting a word in the chat grid, oooooo nooooooo!
an6 - the term used when putting oil on someone?
an 6 is a religious ceremony with oil
Thanks Haz, that finishes the grid for me
It's not over, Mitchell, it was just a reminder to try not to give words away.
Thanks also Inge
Guten Tag Babblers, just reading up in the chat to stay in touch
Well done bubba.
Congrats Bubba!!

It's the plural, bichon.
Ja!
plural of the mi 5/14 that starts that sequence
help with the sl7,28, Please
ty Haz
sl7/28 - Gaelic for 'cheers', add two letters of a beverage to the fallen ones (sl5)
sl is a gaelic toast or "cheers"... sl + slang for am not + vowel
so how does ri5/20 plus the german for yes make sense
ri plus a vowel, then German for yes.
ri 5/20 is spanish for river + german for yes
kk
or what haz just said
; )
thank you for the sl7
You're welcome deb.
Haz is here, how hopeful
Alright, I give up. Two more words, the ro5,14 and ro6,24. Please set me free!
I refuse to use the dictionary
aaaaaaah the queen, the king, they come from a ro*** family
ro5/14 - word describing a monarch?
Hello Zen - it's a tricky grid today, have your crowbar handy.
Oh. Wow. I hate myself now. But thank you...I am done
my last one,,,the third tr5/10
Congratulations Uniquity!
*hides head in shame*
help with the sa5,10 - not where you get your dye jobs (didn't want to say ha4:)
plural of a set of 3
The third tr5/10 is appropriately about three.
Congrats Uniquity!! Afternoon all...........
Get that head up right now, Uniquity. No need for shame at all!
hi caitlyn
ok..then i need the one before it..cos i have that
hey cait..
sa5/10 - as created by the Pope?
holy person deb- Christopher, Thomas Aquinas, etc
Hi deb and rolin
How about the last tr5?
howdy folks
ok, its BATH time!
The one before that, rolin, mirrors the structure of the court case, but different vowel.
the sa + frozen water?
for Hobbit :D
Hi Takuma
tr + not off + vowel
hi everyone
tr5/10 (last) - a Scandanavian coin.
stupid pope took the sa/ from christipher, the moose
I have the hardest time with 'Y' words...
*christopher

congrats rolin, i have a feeling you are going to be in the minority today... this grid is a kicker
Well done rolin - someone did it in 35 minutes this morning. Just to cheer us all up.
it wasn't moolingwa, was it?
oh youre joking|?|
oh youre joking|?|
ooof... 35 mins... <whimper> was it lorip?
he always kicks my butt in tangleword
No, it was either dart or DRBsomething.
Would I jest, rolin?
Oh, thanks haz, i had monkeyed that; it must be the one before that....
DrB always finishes in record time
Before that comes the group(s) of three, Zen.
it has been known haz....well.. im gonna take a break for a while... can i just mention again for those who havent yet heard...if youre on face book there is ababblers worldwide group...pls join up it would be great to get as many as possible on there
Must be before that then!
that 35 minute babbler probably didn't ask for clues either.
I have only heard of face book..never tried the site though rolin is it good?
there is a tr5/10 that has the set of 3 + a consonant at the end
Okay, before that comes a tr5 and tr6 combination. Mirrors the structure of the court case (first tr5) but different vowel used.
but its not the plural- it has a different letter at the end
Lori hasn't veen finished yet
clue for the ni 5/20 please, thanx
She went to work after a half hour of babbling with only 26 words
I laugh
No, the 35 minute babbler always completes before clues are flying around.
caitlyn..its great fun... and it would be good to have more... ...erm........experienced ppl such as ourselves on it...lol
ni5/20 - hard-backed heroes.
yay ROLIN!
For experienced read mature women of the world.
sandr- japanese martial artists, or the Teenage Mutant Turtles
ty stidmama...whats the flag?
hello all
LOL rolin..will check it out later
Hi stid

Hello stidmama.
hi stidmama
yes...that would work too haz
the flag is bermuda, I am pretending to be someplace sunny and warm.
stidmama...you must be a face book user?
I am too young to understand those comments!!
thank you for your patience Haz, hain't heard of that word
no rolin, I don't do those sorts of things.
No problem, Zen.
Does Caitlyn think ANYBODY is fooled by her last remark?
how do the points work on the 5 letter words?
rofl... caitlyn and I have a play date on the teeter-totter later!
yeah stid..i read your profile about the flag...
The points on the individual tiles are doubled for 5 letters and tripled for 6 etc.
ta
they are double for each letter value
ok..i really AM gonna take a break..ill catch you all later
later rolin! have a lovely afternoon!
LOL !! Bye rolin
(or is it evening now over there?)
So that by the time you get to a 10 letter word, you're talking telephone numbers.
Bye rolin.
It's dark already, so it feels like evening.
Evening now stid...5.25pm
my, how time flies! seems it's still morning here... ;-)
mi nyan
ooops sorry
woo-hoo! irish drinking toast IS in the grid AND it counts!
We'll whistle and look the other way, sandr.
I started my Christmas shopping today...as anyone who knows me knows how much I hate shopping so I think I did well in starting it...some pressies, turkey ,chocs etc stored away
2 left, an5/10 the second and ha5/12 the last
thanks for that sandr... *whistling loudly*
youre welcome stid
now the question is, how do you PROPERLY pronounce the drinking toast
well done, caitlyn! We boycott Christmas... I bought the stidkid's bday presents months ago though.
ha5/12 - add a vowel to the end of Mr Christian Anderson
slen-cha, short e
ty for that
It's pronounced SLAN CHA.
cool thanks stid, I've been trying to find that forever
(I was close... ) *lifts pint mug in salute to Haz*
Cheers!
an5/10 the second is a plural.
I have said that toast many times with my Irish friends
what does it mean, exactly?
Mind you I have said many toasts with many friends in different ways LOL
I think it means, "health" ???
'Get this down your neck, there's plenty more where that came from' or words to that effect.
hi, all. just got home from walking through our property.
rofl, close enough!
oh angelsong! I am glad I was still here! how did that go?>
I left the house with tears in my eyes...it is so beautiful.
Hi Angel..how did it go?
Have been thinking about you all morning!
{{{happy smiles}}} so GLAD! I am very excited and happy for you!
it is completely amazing. all that is needed is minor cosmetic touch ups.
I echo stids feelings Angel
liking the M5 word in the sentence Angelsong! LOL
I have to go now -- good thoughts for me please? I broke down and called to see the doc about that d4 arthritic knee... It still hurts!
*limping toward door* back in a few hours *poof*
so 5/10?
(((((((stid))))))) Hope you are okay see you soon
so5/10 - add a consonant to so4/4 that precedes it
Bye stidmama.
Thank you, Haz. Now all I need is tr 5/12.
Then you'll get this in a tr5/12.
Good grief! It's the easy one's that get you every time. Thanks so much.
Congrats sally!!
You're very welcome! Congratulations!

No you dont carlee...you will do it...you will do it!!

Or how about a wee lie down in a darkened room?
I'm glad they helped Aloy. It's a grid to test the patience, that's for sure.

to be sure, Haz.. not easy sailing
Lots of false starts and dashed hopes, I reckon.
The monkey has to work overtime on this one

Breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out.
LOL carlee..you are doing well

We need trained professionals for this.

an5/10 - an plus first three letters of Scots girl or miraculously competent movie dog.

Well, that's a relief. You can always get a new ha4/5 from rentasa5/10, but ha4/5 takes a bit longer.
You're welcome eieios.

Hi everyone!

( broken china....adhered to frame with tile adhesive..then grouted )
u set on floor..and your bum gets sore
an6..done with holy water or oil
a priest gets an****ed
LOL wouldn't a chair in front of a table be more comfortable?
thanks carlee!
Ok ok am decorating circular mirror for bathroom with glass mosaic tiles - am certainly not eating it!!!
depends on if you want tile adhesive on your good table...
can't you sit on a cushion...or a rolled up towel...or something?

for those looking for the SL& - it's the gaelic "cheers"
oh! got it! thanks again!

SL7 that is.........
the SL 7 is the irish drinking toast word
I'm not irish. how about dostvidanya?
eieios - the queen...a dark blue....the kind of pain in the neck that nut causes....
LOL that means good bye dorens...
irish gaelic poTAto potaTO

merci beaucoup stid for the recognition !!

got it! finally. thx for the clues.
rofl... fiz -- I have gained at least 20 lbs since you saw me! not sure how... *munching on chips*
nah, nut, she's smacking herself!
SO WHAT if u have gained weigth stid...
oh, like masochism?
do I have to come give you the lesson on self-esteem stid?
so it probably explains the excruciting knee pain of the last two weeks, carlee!!!! I am being given physical therapy so I can increase my activity level safely.
stid i feel confident the weight has not made you into a witchy crone.
*cackles and stirs stidkid stew*
we are only down on ourselves b/c the media says we should be 5 foot 10 and weigh 120 lbs!
me and stid can be cheese thigh sisters, i've done a lovely gain myself
well....i *WAS* confident.
it has nothing to do with the chocolates and cookies and chips!
actually, I know that weight contributes to the disabling pain in my knees. Losing 30 pounds would allow me to live medication free.
I am stunningly beautiful in real life, just not very able to do the things I love. :-(
have you read "animal, vegetable, miracle"? the food production chain is a conspiracy against us.
I haven't got a clue if I have gained or lost during my...."episode" here..and frankly I don't give a flying f*&^ cus there are bigger things out there to worry about then that....and I for one..should KNOW
*looks to see if anyone wants to dispute last statement*
high five on that, carlee
carlee, only reason i care is that i don't wanna go buy new pants and bras
I believe... I just did in a round about way stid
ugh. no one of any size likes to buy bras.
{{{carlee}}} it's not about anyone else's weight or shape... just that on me it's uncomfortable to the point of tears.
need clue for 1 of the last tr 5/10 - i have the musical group(s) ?
nothing makes you more conscious of your natural "variations" than that. except maybe bathing suits.
if it is uncomfortable..then yes..do soemthing but don't get down onyourself please stid
bras were invented by the devil fiz, tis true, but they DO keep the girls in check.
did the devil decide how much they should cost too? yikes!
if its about living happier and healthier...but not in the mirror..then yes...do something..but this..."oh damn..I am so fat..." cock and bull crap....that brings us all down on ourselves
i hear you. necessary to avoid the "flying south for the winter" effect, but buying them always sends me into a downward spiral of self-hatred.
Closing down with 57 left!! Good night folks
try the chemical version of the musical group montreal, change the last letter of plural form
*looks down at $50 knocker enablers* yes...expensive
night bil...sorry about the fem crap happening here
bye billmster
sweet dreams billmster
and the LAST tr 5/10 is like the danish? (maybe swedish) monetary unit
sweet dreams bill! see you next time!
bye bill, sleep well!
so..lets try this again ..shall we stid... ( see if she has learned anything today )..so..stid..are you on facebook yet?
Actually, I HAD thought my weight was down, carlee! All my clothes are fitting WAY better than they did two months ago!
* she asks in a cheery way*
whoa...this instant replay thing always makes me a little dizzy...
NO CARLEE! I am NOT on facebook? why? [you are the second person today to talk about facebook]
then you have likely gained muscle from physio....
is facebook like myspace?
tx stid - got the tr5
there is a babble worldwide group on facebook
I haven't started physio yet! rofl...
i am not on either but probably should learn with kids approaching teen years.
yeap... but not so... "free spirited "
oh. well, I'll consider it carlee. I have SO MANY things I am already joined to. LOL
scarlet, rolin, peri and I are there... mr pres
Our children are not allowed myspace or facebook -- or any "social networking" online. Those sorts of things creep me out.
not sure who else...
but if there are already nice people I know... I'll think about it
I'm going bonkers. I can't get the 2nd no 4/4
anagram the first bichon
reverse last 2 letter bichon
I got it. but ty anyhow
*looking around* yeah. meeting people online is creepy. you never know what kind of freaks you might attract.
the second no 4/4 is a type of japanese seaweed used to wrap sushi
i met my husband on line. lol
yeah. I gotta tell you about this really weird person I met up with once at a kite festival...
*stands a little taller*
why taller, nut dear? You are already taller than I am!
funny, stid. i met the oddest family at a kite festival.
are you SURE about that stid?
my best friend and his GF met on the internet and have been together 7 years !! - it does work sometimes !
you too, huh? yeah. ya gotta watch out.
so5/12...clue please?
well, I think of you as taller anyway, nut. I am 5'3 1/2" when my spine is straight.
a so*** boom

{{{jill}}} well, I hope it's sunny up there, too. After yesterday, we deserve the lovely weather!
ah. then we are probably about even most of the time, nut. :-)
it's semi-sunny -- that's why I'm going to do stuff
I think I'll head out too. It's lovely here, and the dog wants attention (still/again/perpetually)
montreal, your icon is the coolest!
thanks for all the help, dear friends. And carlee, if I DO join facebook, anything I need to know about finding the babble group?

Scrabbler no more bouncing too far out for you
Can you do it yourself, Owl?
I have no idea
not the outside vent. but i may try the other
enable is as enable does...
Lady, when I play tennis at net, I pretend that I am a goaltender and dive for balls. But, alas, I am too old for that. I must preserve and protect the skeleton.
well why did you call it "sea eye"? are you making up words now?!

30 to go and Bunny Callie is begging for her evening salad. I shall return when the rabbits are all fed.

Was is not BabbleRabble who gave us the quote in the chat? I cant locate it anywhere

I have tried to avoid coffee before breakfast that is killing me. Also trying to have 1 cup of coffee in the am
sorry i am new, can i just ask if you can get words from jumbling the letters up or if u have to have it next to the leter its already next too
don't do coffee.
I don't think so inge... I can't remember but it was right around the time I logged in
This was a big change for me...I had always been thin, and then a few years ago packed on the extra 20# and couldn't seem to drop until I did the smoothie, more raw, started wanting less food, etc. The pounds just melted away--down from a 12 to a 6 or 8..
Hi Tiny
the letters have to touch tiny...can go diagonal
ok thanks.. haha gosh im so bad at this
thanks
if you do coffee, you'll make it lots easier on your body, if you eat something first.

speaking of food..getting more chinese...decided we needed and deserved a treat
hmmm...no cravings babs?
and how long did it take to lose?
probably since July...until beginning of November...
what's in a green smoothie?
coffee is tough on the adrenals and dehydrating as well...what if you tried the smoothie for a few days?
wow...hmm..worth trying
green smoothie basically 1/2 greens (salad greens, some kale, sprouts, spinach -- your choice and 1/2 fruits e.g. papaya, pineapple, banana...I add some water, good salt and lemon.
recipe: http://www.livewell.wordpress.com
I've been a wellness consultant for years, working with low carb/sugar diet and supplements...then got curious about more raw as so many powerful stories of health improvements and weight loss by adding raw, live foods.

Yes, may dead brains of the world unite!
i'm THIRD now in princess bride trivia!!
*sigh of satisfaction*
Hi Hurshy. Where is the Princess Bride trivia contest?
good timing, hursh
it's one of the facebook apps
Would you be in favor of a Princess Bride sequel--with little Buttercups and Wesleys?
do you ever hate yourself and just want to bury your head in the sand? do you think ostriches are embarrassed about things and that is why they do that?
playing sweet tooth in pogo..brb
clue please for first an5/10? ty
yes and no
Often, hurshy and for most of my life from 11-35 or so.
i dunno scrabbler. i doubt it. but i suppose if someone wrote something really well and it was clever and interesting...
How about you write it, Hursh?
pl of an4
i don't think i'm that funny
Oops, Owl, I need the first an5 myself. Sorry.
an5 - an + bonny ***s (girl)
Phantom = anion
this grid is so much like yesterday's
TY, doxy!
yw
ty doxy
Is the an6 related to the an5 before it?
when you say it's so much like yesterday's, do you mean that it's REALLY annoying?
yes
that is precisely what i mean
Way MORE annoying, bendamalina!!!!
no..todays is worse then yesterday
no, the an6 is a misspelling of what you do to a baby when you baptise it...you an**** it with oils
it's not misspelled...
TY, bendamalina
And Bunny Callie has entered the room to assist me.
you are right. sorry hursh, i'm dumb sometimes
well the list is gonna enter the room to assist me cause i am tired of annoying grids
um, ok, see, this is where i feel awkward, because i like to have correct information out there in the world, but i don't mean for it to make people feel like they are dumb, and then i don't know what to say, because "you're not dumb" is so conventional...
I brought up the list too--I was struggling too much and there just isn't enough time to monkey these weird words.
awww, that's not what i meant. i don't like putting misinformation out in the world, either.
scrabs, how do buniies beg? do they make noise?
Callie starts nipping my ankles, feet or pants. The others (upstairs) throw their dishes or toys around. Tucker tries to push his gate out, and is is sometimes successful.
and i can't tell you not to insult yourself because i insult myself all the time and so it would be hypocritical
hahaa, well, being a hypocrit isn't the worst thing in the world. I hate when other people say stuff like that, but i do it anyways. but thanks. I know i'm not dumb, sometimes i just say dumb things :D
We all have "oops" moments.
hypocrite even
ro5/14 anyone?
well, indulge in self loathing as much as you like, but if you could leave me out of it, then i wouldn't have to feel awkward :)
Queen Lizzie is one of the ro5 family.
When she isn't getting her way, Queen Elizabeth can be a ro*** pain in the ass *giggle*
is this bash the queen day???
omg i cant believe i didnt see that one
Pardon? Is someone taking Her Majesty's name in vain?
* note to haz * i cleaned up....there is no evidence
And a memerb of the ro5 family has just entered. **doing my best curtsy**
no, haz we were talking about the other queen
ri5, last one?
Ha! You haven't reckoned with CSI and their blue torches and sprays though, have you, carlee?
*member**

Like ro5 but change first vowel
Up you get, Scrabbler, I'd hate for you to be stuck down there, with your sore back and everything.
my5 - a talking bird
thanks scrabbler
Haha, well, it would've been better had i said it differently. i will try not to implicate you in my self laothin
Yes, hazel, otherwise the wench will need a wench to get up.
loathing even! I give up. my fingers are NOT working tonight
and this board. bleh.
(winch scrabs? )
?
or wrench?
not that I am one to correct... cus I make the MOSt mistakes of anyone...
Isn't a winch a machine device to lift up large objects?
yeap...
I meant winch...ah, I cannot type either
you said wench though. twice.
u said wench to lift the wench
I thought of wrench as well, but thought it sounded painful, in view of Scrabbler's pre-existing problems.
sorry scrabs..i'm contagious
Remember, my brain is dead.
ok, i give up now. I'm going to go work on bicycles.
good luck all
my5 - add another consonant to the end of the my4
my 5/18 plz help me get the last one lol!
I have thought about using a wrench to get my sacroiliac jo5 back in position.
mytchell, it's an alt sp of the bird
Hear ye hear ye..all members of the dead brain society say yea...
Yea
yea!!!
MItchell, put a consonant on the end of my4/7. Look at my name for inspiration.

i vaguely remember boboli...but what was it?

Yahooo Mitchell

Carlee, take care of Carlee!
congrats mitchell
ty i am missing an m 5 not an an5 : / breain dead
is there a nutritional reason why i like to have milk when i have meals with tomato sauce?
second mi5/14 please haz?
nope, you just like milk
To neutralize the acidity, Hursh.
Mi5 meat pie, Owl
mi5 - to chop finely
mi5/14 - to make into very small pieces.
acid, base, acid, base
what other foods are acidic?
Or to strut about in a tiptoe kind of fashion
evening all
Good evening Mom.
Citrus, tomato are the biggies
ty, that was fireworks!
Hi Mom! Is your sweetie back from Baltimore?

aplles are ,also
i do NOT like milk with citrus
Congratulations TO!
hi mom & everyone
esp tart like granny smith
Wow, Owl! Congrats
Hi Haz:)
Hi Scrabbler, he sure is. Good to have him home
i like sugar with citrus though... like... lemonade!
Hi Lil Monkey
Hi Monkey
Honestly, first they criticize the Queen, now they're calling Granny Smith's purity into question.
sugar helps neutralize acidity too, doesn't it?
this is a hard grid i think!
LOL you must admit she is quite tart
I agree, Monkey--very tough! 4 to go for me
well i must run - se you all tomorrow i hope
LOL, Hazel
73 left here, Scrabbler
See you TO, have a nice evening.
bye bye TO
mi 6/7 combo? - don't clue if it is normal...
And I am done!
It is not 'normal'.
Congrats Scrabbler.
hi and bye, mom bye, all! *poof*

Congratulations Scrabbler.

But chnge last vowel
there are sooooooo many phantom words in this grid
thanks Scrabbler and Doxy
Off I go folks. I have stuff to do, AND I get to be on-call. Yippee.
Take care Scrabbler and pleasant dreams
Many of the words on the list seem to be phantoms.
bye scrabble bunny
why the hell isn't "orion" a word ???
proper
I am going to have a lil*monkey tantrum now
just look at it this way, if all proper nouns counted, we'd be in big trouble. so you should be glad.
oh hurshy you're so sensible :)
hmm... don't hear that one often
genrully i'm SILLY
Fireworks, finally.
oh good doxy
yay doxy ****
congrats Doxy
then you can help me with sl7
it oughtn't to be hard but...
oh me too please... I need sl7
sl7 - kill past tense + past **nse
You're not up on your Gaelic word for health?
now i am
how is it used?
Cheers!
sl 5/10 plus english drink **a
i'm in good sl7? i'm feeling sl7?
As in 'Drink up, there's more of this coming'
It's a toast, not the bread variety.
TY (it's a strange one)
ohhhh
see you all later.
bye bye Doxy
And in case you're wondering, it's pronounced SLANSHA.
bye doxy
ok, i only have three left and its all of the or's
Bye doxy.
help please?
or5 - the whale, plus out's opposite
thanks haz, i would have murdered it!
so... umm... gaelic is like, scottish, right?
or7/32 - add the beginning of Mr Cromwell's first name, then plural for or8.
now there was a deadly insult......
English has its quirks of pronounciation - so has Gaelic, though I only know a few words here and there.
There's Scots Gaelic and Irish Gaelic.
are they... like... like old? like middle english? or is this what people use in everyday chats now?
i mean i know some words still get used but like, overall do they just speak english or do people speak like a whole other language?
I got the 5, many thanks Haz, but I do not know of this Mr Cromwell
oh i figured it out!
you don't know cromwell?!
There are parts of Ireland (known as the Gaeltacht) where Irish would be the first language spoken, though most people would know English as well. Scots Gaelic would be spoken in some parts of the Highlands and the islands.
*officially apologizes for the american school system*
hehehe, hurshy
so, would an ordinary scottish person living in the US know what i meant if i said "sl7"?
I should have used an American reference, like North.
I read lots! I just have CRS :(
what is CRS can't remember sh**?
As far as I know, sl7 is Irish, so not sure if the Scots would understand.
ohhh it's irish
such an educational day
You live and learn, hurshy.
so there is one benefit to living, at least.
I will take an educational lesson, I don't know who Cromwell is
Yes, I think so.
good ole ollie cromwell
Cromwell decided that he would make a better job of looking after England than the King. He was wrong, so Charles II was restored to the throne. (Hope I've got my facts right)
he was the dude who stuck it to the royals and kinda got the whole democracy ball rolling
yeah it was rather a bust but sorta planted a seed, dontchano
thank you for the lesson. :)
17th century England - no wonder you haven't heard of him. He wasn't very attractive, he wouldn't have done very well in running for AMerican presidency.
what, was he too eloquent?
too intelligent?
He was the one who asked the painters to depict him 'warts and all'.
not the type to go for plastic surgery, then. guess he'd lose the hollywood vote.
And his parties would be useless. He was of the Puritan persuasion.
oh well, we get THOSE for presidents. at least, allegedly.
I am still having a hard time wth the or 7 & 8, even with the clues. Can you all help, please
If you have or5, add the beginnings of Miss Newton John.
Or Miss de Haviland.
or nellie
Or Miss Oyl, if it comes to that.
or not young
or smell-related
or young twist
oh duh, I didn't catch the part where it played off the or 5 word
(She'll keep on clueing until you raise the white flag)
thank you Haz and Hurshy. Angel wings for both
Hello Ladies. Thought u were only on in (my) am, Haz! Nice to see you.
sometimes even after
man... I swear i don't need to exercise any more. I'm running around the office all day! hardly been at my desk. How's everyone enjoying the grid? I have about 15 minutes before I'm up and out again. =)
got this, I surrender.
Hi Krista
You're welcome, Mom.
i don't clue so people can get words, i clue for the pure fun of cluing
Hello Krista - I 'm going to turn into a pumpkin soon.
Hi Redshoes. I am having a large slab of fish right now
mmmm... foooooood. *pops cadbury chocolate in mouth* wonder what'll be for dinner at my meeting...
Yes, I can imagine, Haz. I'm ready for bed and it's only 7pm! And I still have to take daughter to guitar lessons. ZZZzzzzz
prime rib, baked potatoes, green beans and applie pie
apple*
mmmmmm! sounds great mom!
Cadbury..MMMMM fruit and nut bar
*hands krista coffee*
hope it is a good dinner, Redshoes
I love the fruit and nut bar! it's my favorite. =)
Can I tell you that Cadbury's have resurrected the Wispa bar?
you can tell me all you want, Haz. Doesn't mean I have to listen. wait... what's wispa?
is that like a wafer?
Am actually wanting just that, redshoes (coffee). Thanks!
My husband got his hands on a flake bar for me, but sadly, I didn't like it (they don't sell them here)
my pleasure. Am drinking tea, myself. =)
Wispa is Cadbury's chocolate with a hint of bubble throughout, similar to Aero, but not so much bubble. It was a sad day when they withdrew it, but it's back!
that is halfway for me, time to do the dishes. Thanks for your patience in helping me with clues. Hugs to all
ahhhh. Interesting, Haz.
Bye Mom - see you again.
bye mom!
Our local grocery store just had the fruit and nut bars 10 for 1.00. I showed great restraint and bought ONE!
bye bye Haz and Redshoes
Bye Mom!! Don't get dishpan hands.
10 bars for 1 dollar?
thanks Krista, I won't. bye bye
I like the freeze the fruit and nut bars and just eat them a row at a time.
wait... 10 for 1? or $1 each?
Oh wait...I meant 10 for 10.00!!
Yikes, I would have bought them out at that price.
Ah, that's more like it. I was about to wail about the price of chocolate over here, but that sounds more like the thing.
This is how rumours start. That shop could have been inundated with people looking for the cheap chocolate bars.
Totally, Haz.
That's why I need some coffee. Brain not working well.
We are in Hershey country (although Hershey makes Cadbury now), so they don't sell fast.
So, it's not imported chocolate, then?
No, but we get some from the English relatives at Christmas.
I actually am not the biggest chocolate fan. I'd generally rather have nachos. Or reeses pieces. =)
Does it taste just the same?
My son loves the Cadbury buttons. They are very close, Haz. I can't taste the difference, but my husband can, but it's only slight, he says.
That's good - it would be a pity to have Cadbury's on the outside and not taste the way it should.
Didn't realize the time..have to get the kid to lessons. Thanks for the food chat! Bye RS, bye Haz. Sleep well.
Anyway, pumpkin time has come, so I'd better take myself off. I've defended the honour of the Queen and dredged up some 17th century English history. My job is done! Bye for now!
any clues for the first an 5,12?
ok... time for me to head out again. *sigh* haven't even gotten to half way yet. It's a sad, sad day! later babblers. =)

mi 6: the number of people required for a Jewish memorial service
indeed so, nut!
dc, you said it so much better
nutty buddy, nothing is too hard for you!!!
pfffffffft inge - and how come you have to have ten people to pray?
inge, your definition is the appropriate one for reform/reconstructionist. I chose to go with a more conservative definition. same diff.
I dont, the people in the synagogue do
because Leviticus says so, nut, what more reason do you need. :D
yeah, how come they do? does anyone know? speak up my jewish friends

I will ask my Jewish penpal tomorow morning and report back tomorrow evening on the gathering of ten men (almost typed the real word!)
the spelling of the word today was new to me, i'm used to a different vowel in the 2nd syllable
jeepers inge, when you say it like that, it sounds positively poronographic
oh it wasn't? nutty, do you ever hear from chj? That was such great fun
this would be me not talking about him
whee! fireworks for me. Thanks all cluers

thanks Mom, we love it too
Just dropping in before bed. Hi MRP.
Hi again Scrabbler
hi scrabbs :))
Carlee--did your daughter faint?
yes...2ce and broke out in hives...I expect was a rush of histamines out of nervous excitement for daddy coming home..but still..there heart issues and diabetes in my family
Darn, my beeper is going off again. This onc-all business stinks.
Talk to your doc, Carlee....fainting is not uncommon in kids, especially adolescent girls that do not drink enough fluids.
OK, I have to make a call, then go to bed. Bye everyone.
thurs at 1 pm scrabs
Good, carlee---for reassurance.
Good, carlee---for reassurance.
Hmm, I double-talked.

Jac, I think I scared mrp off when I said my hubby is in Sydney! he's really not that scary! :)
dcs - Still up. I wasn't feeling well last night and went to bed at about 9.30 and stayed there for nearly 12 hours! Consquently, I'm not that tired right now.:(
hey babbleland
ty
*consequently
shbdybr8, good evening!
hi dc! how goes it?
know how that goes, jac.
well shdy, aside from lack of sleep, you?
Jen - Oh dear! I only wanted to tell her I've e-mailed my list of Babble fireworks videos to her.
Hi, jilli.
my monkey has a better memory than I do -- s/he just found the ay word
go, jilli!
good, tho it seems i forgot to finish the grid this morning, came in expecting to be done this late, have 7! lmao
hi jac :)
shdy, 7 left, or 7 found?
hi, jilli and shady
You FORGOT to finished the grid, shdy? Goodness! You can't be properly addicted yet.
hi pam, found, dc, that's why lmao!!!
jac, i'm so used to finishing before 7 am, never gave it another thought, figured i was done!!!!!
LOLOLOLOL
shdy - Love your icon. LOL
sheesh, maybe I need to go to bed... when the clue was given for the sl7... I thought it was Irish toast and in the browned bread!!!!
LOL, Jen!
as in/
oh, several people have made that mistake today, jen!
No, it's not like French toast.
great icon, jacula!
an5,10 please?
toast, bread, omg, lost!!!
good, I am not the only silly one
an5/10 is annagram of 4/4 rear one, plus plural
Thanks, dcs. I'm kitted out for Sprite's 'smiles' theme. I've put a joke someone e-mailed me in my bio, too.
th 5?
thank you, dc
i was reading and enjoying it, jac, very entertaining, esp since i work helpdesk :D
Amy - th5 = oldfashioned 'Your' + badly spelled the name you'd call yourself.
that is so not a word, where's carlee?
that is the stupidest looking latin plural I have seen in a while!
dcs - Glad you enjoyed it. My son's just been asked if he wants to go on IT helpdesk at work. He's declined. Just as well - he's not the most patient of people with 'computer morons' (his term, not mine).
jac, read your hilarious bio!
any other clues for th 5?
I'm here
sorry..was off floating..whats up?
nvm got it
there was a stoopid word
it has an adj from it, too, amy
that th is absurd
there were heaps of stoopid words today...today's grid SUCKED
jilli - glad you enjoyed it. It's not about me - just a joke my Mum's friend (the one who usually e-mails me pics of naked men) sent me today.
shdy, ur playing babble, of COURSE there are stupid words.
that th is a gland in the neck, jilli
well, yes,, but i am playing babble, so i get to revel in their stupidity with like-minded babblers!
Floating, carlee? Does Babble now have a flotation tank? Ooh, luverly! (Unless you're claustrophobic, like me!)
how about the th 6?
yes, dc, the Latin pl, gaa
i wish..no... today was dead brain day...
th6, add cons to the th5
I don't know how many times (ahem) I tried the herb...
me no brain today; i have teh dumb
ty
herb?... parsley sage rosemary and th*** diff last vowel
phantom herb
in5,14 please?
Hi Amyjv -- where in Canada?
yes, carlee, I know
in5/14 - think something slotted in - as in marquetry (woodwork) etc.
hey jes, nite all, need to regroup apparently
in5 the gold in the wood
shdy - I'm trying to think of a phantom herb joke... not succeeding so far.
fish! fish does NOT go well with split pea soup.
thanks
it does, jes, if in different courses, presuming there's no ham in the soup.
I think I need to pack it in for the night... 0515 comes early! G'night all!
ah, but there was ham in the soup. the point of making the soup was to use up the rest of the ham i made last week :)
dc, have you had any sleep in the last 24 hours?
nite jen
night jen
the third tr 5,10?
I keep getting put off by my own icon when I glance down at it in the log. Keep thinking Haz and Spangle are here (though Haz went earlier, I imagine). I'd love to see a pic of Spangle with that lippy dog toy in her mouth, though. Maybe I'll get her one for Christmas.
'Night, Jen.
4 of the last 24 - ~08:30-12:40 today.
wow. you got shortshifted there. did my good sleep help you any?
Jac, it's so funny! Where did you find it?
oh poor you, dc!
3rd tr5/10 = groups of three.
well, i'm functional enough to maintain conversation (for now) :)
the joys of nightshift plus court appearances, jilli. :)
and to give good clues, dc, you noble soul!
we'll slap you when u get out of control dc
much better than me with 4 hours sleep.
jilli - when I saw the theme was 'smiles' I immediately thought of the dog toy and looked for it.
3rd tr5/10 tr + 1 w/a different vowel
final vowel
sry i meant 4th 5,10 lol
dare i ask why you had to appear in court?
hello
dc--how did court go?
owwwww - i dig the fins - it's a fillmore isn;t it?
back in a mo with the liquid other half...
Hello, harp.
at 02:30 on 6 Sep, i was pulled over by a Loudoun County Deputy for a burned-out RR taillight, which was repaired on 11 Sep.
Hi, renster.
court - $58 in court costs, but they waived the $30 fine.
Liquid in the other half, jilli??
hi, ren & harp!
At least it's done--though I can't believe you had to pay fees
hey mistress xoxoxox hey dc and harp and jilli and pam
so..dc how long u at work ?
cop must have been cranky. usually the give warnings for things like that
i was surprised to, pam, as in the circuit i live in , all charges would have been dropped. The 20th circuit works differently. *shrug*
figures...
he ignored my doing ~67 in a 55 zone, so i'll deal, jes. :)
heh. well, ok then :)
dcs - Maybe they had been told to get their figures up for fines etc?
or clues?
oh that is good dc!
until 07:00, carlee :)
hey jes and carlee
ok..maybe see u in the morning... havea good one..I'll bring you a hot cocoa...
dunno, jac, Loudoun County does need revenue, as they can't raise property taxes more.
hey ren...
and bye ren...et al
bye, calrlee
sleep well, carlee. :)
*carlee
hihi ren
Ren - you know that 'new do' pic of yours? At a glance it reminds me of Janis Joplin.
byeeeeeeee carlee
Hey there everyone!
'Bye, carlee.
hahahaha mistress! wish i could sing like janis
Hi, Wolfie!
howdy, woulf!
hi ren -- I haven't refreshed to the black pearl, so who is it in your previous icon?
hullo woulf
hey wolf
Hi, woulf
yo4 clue please?
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
jilli - I was just asking, but you probbly missed it... 'liquid in the other half'?? Or did you mean 'hand'?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
is it the native american? the apache man?
evening, minver. tired, and you?
even better now that you're here, minver :)
yo4 is 'female sexual part'.
yo 4
{{**Hugs**}} for Jac, dc, jilli, ren, pam, Min, and everyone else who wants one
hey min
Hi, Min.
Hi, Min
jac, I only had half of my vodka-rox ration, so now I have the other half <g>
yo4 rhymes w/ri 4/6-a-ro** the San Francisco treat.
heydy all...popping in to say gnighters
Night, ren
niters nutters //P-/
pleasant dreams, evanonut!
nini, nut
Hello and goodbye evanonut! Nice to see you briefly!
hi/bye -- nitey nite, nut
LOL, jilli. I can't drink vodka; it makes me sick. (No, not in any big amount but any tiny amount. It's never agreed with me.)
'Night, nut. x
i like gin better than vodka, myself.
G&T with ice and a slice. Nice!
LOVE gin bloody mary... Don't drink vodka, either... never agreed with me, either, jac.
Wow, I didn't know about the yo4 -- what we learn from Babble!!!
http://www.old-picture.com/indians here's the web page jilli lotz of pictures
I am here to give clues
I can't drink gin, and don't really care for the taste of vodka
Oops! Just said a word. Sorry!
indeed so, jac!
the fourth tr 5,10
Hi phandmd! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
Yes, nice, jac, but a bit too sweet ;)
ri5/20?
wow - i coulda had a v8!!
4th tr5/10 tr + 1 w/a different final vowel
However, rum or scotch (depending on label) go down nice and smooooth
Hi GW, phan, Min and all those whose entry I missed
Wolfie - I generally steer clear of spirits and stick to wine or dry cider. The occasional bacardi and diet coke (not pepsi!) with ice and lemon is nice or Gordon's dry gin with tonic, ice and a slice.
the ri 4/20 uses the j
ri5/20 is a lovel Spanish wine region, la ri5/20, the make ri5/20s and crianzas
Hello jilliobus! How are you? Did you finish the grid yet
down to the OR words now. any clues?
Another word that uses the 6-point tile like the wine phan just clued is ni5/20 - think Hero Turtles.
or5/7/8 all start with a whale that doesn't go out
thanks
any other clues for the 4th tr 5,10
lord of the rings character + not out and the others build on it
ok guys i completely give in i been here 4hours and only half way, thanks for the clues but im over it
haha good luck to u all
cya
hasta, teddy
tr + not off + 1st vowel
you make me laugh, dc. but i understood it :)
I'm a purist. Gin is "mother's ruin". Scotch tastes like Ivory Soap. Rum is too sweet. Rye is boring. Vodka is pure and simple. but as they used to say, pick your poison!
woot ty
I think trojan should be accepted. Anyone else try it?
thanks muchly
cool, jes! the 8 is a plural of the 7.
the last ha 5,12
Min - I didn't 'cos I know it's capitalised and I've tried it before. LOL. Wanted to try it, though!
i tried it min
got them all from that first clue, actually
Also, phantoms 'ronion' and 'onion' were typed in by me at leat twice.
go you!
ha 5/12 - kinda like a grim's fairy tale character
last ha5/12 is hard to clue. it means "a company or guild of merchants in a northern European medieval town. "
got the or5, but can't seem to monkey the 7/8... Loved the hint to the words, though!
I also tried 'Olay' as in 'oil of...' face cream.
My goal for this grid is half way, and I'm not there yet. Didn't have time today.
pam, add a chemical ending
Phantom words for me were hy 4/8 plus al and acorn.
jac, I ALWAYS try Olay!
nah, go you--you're the one that pointed me that direction :)
phantom-sayonara
phantom-sayonara
got it ty
the or words end in the roun vowel and stick letter
Oil of Olay used to be called 'Oil of Ulay' in UK until a few years' ago. Apparently, it means something rude somewhere else in the world and was causing giggles... so... they changed the name.
woot fireworks!
Congrats, Amy.
:) thanks
Woot! Amy
Another way to clue ha 5/12 word is h + an 4/4 word
Oh, funny, jac. I've heard of that happening with car names too.
thanks, dc
Congratulations Amyjv on your fireworks!Good for U!
tyty
Any 'for instances' on that, jilli?
YAY Amy!!! Now will you tell a fellow-Canadian where in Canada you are?
I am working for the halfway point myself -- I actually had a chance to take my lunchbreak today and discovered that tech support has installed site blocking technology!! I can't babble on my lunch break anymore! 8-(
Does anyone have a clue for the an 5/10 word please
I can't remember, jac
Actually, I need the second an 5/10 word if you have
Oh, shame, jilli.
an + girl
the 2nd an 5/10 is a plural
2nd an5/10 is plural of an4/4.
yeah. I wonder if google can help
that stinks, grey
an4/4 is aa Babblet dwarf buffalo.
I have the one that is plural.I need other an4/4 word
min, the 2nd an5/10 is more than one Celebes buffalo
I meant I got an5/10 that's a plural. I need other one
Oh!:(( Poor Wolfie! How mean of them.
and I need the first two an 4/4 words, lol
well, both an 5/10's end in s
hi friends
Min - the first an5/10 was clued to you by phan.
think rear end
Hi, ping.
an 4/4:when someone is VERY picky how to do things
very mean indeed, it is not like I get to play at work that often either
and for the other put 2 prepositions together
hey Ping
bummer, wolfie. I'll be at our local library tomorrow where I volunteer and I don't think anyone will pull that stunt on us
1st an5/10: an + spanish plural fem def article
The second an 4/4:an* alicia plus snake letter jillibus.
Hello Ping! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
ping!
Wolfie - best thing you can do is either write the grid down before you leave for work (like wot I do!) or print it off and play it on paper at your leisure. Type in the words on site when you can.
hi jacula, gw, pam and min!
hiya, ping!
Jac -- you presume that I am awake enough to turn on the computer before I go to work :-D
ah, got your an4/4 (1st) clue, Min -- ty
hi dc!
Wolfie - you can adapt!
oh, what a good idea, jac!
YAY! a friend is going to have a Soup & Song night in December. :D
and thanks, phan for the 2nd. Now I don't see how the first an5/10 can be a plural...
1st an5/10 is not a plural, just ends like one.
Don't get the spanish indefinite article feminine clue.
dcs - typing a whole list of words in at once is quite rewarding. LOL.
an + another word for girl (sort of) think scottish
Soup and song? That sounds fun? What does it entail?
I suppose, Jac -- but first I want my voice back -- I have had a cold the past week and today it decided to graduate from sinus congestion to laryngitis
i like that too - soup and song
Sou[ and Song night? What a great idea!
well, Law and Order SVU is on, so nitie, nite
every one brings a soup of their making, and we dine, then we sing and/or play instruments.
by, phand!
Goodbye phandmd! I will see you tomorrow in the log!
g'nite phandmd
good thing my dear late tone-deaf hubby won't be there, dc!
Wolfie - look on the bright side. When your voice comes back you'll sound like crooner Barry White for a while. Did you know he's responsible for more conceptions than any other singer? LOL
LOL jilli. I have a friend who loves to sing who can't carry a tune. We tolerate it, and avoid wincing in line of sight.
night phan
You mean more than Sinatra?
'Night, phan.
pam, i'm loving motherless brooklyn - thanks for the rec
I don't care about sounding like Barry White! I care about being able to read books to my kids when they come up to me and shove them in my hands
jilli - yup! More than Sinatra.
Awww, woulfie!!!
Wolfie - you'll just have to read to them as Barry White. Actually, it's an opportunity with your eldest to get him to point out words and say them for you.
At least I am able to whisper to them so I can wish them a good nite when I tuck them in
this grid is harder than i expected
yes, ping, this one was quite challenging
Jac -- my eldest is my daughter and she is doing just great at reading on her own now -- it is cool and scary at the same time
dcs - I have two friends (who were my 2 bridesmaids when I married back in '77) who are both tone-deaf. When one of them was singing along to the car radio when my half-deaf Dad was giving us a lift home from somewhere, it was that bad that he thought there was something wrong with the car!
LOL, jacula
ROFL
She is able to sound out many of the words in her books, but she doesn't always know what they mean so half the joy of reading is lost on her
Wolfie - they grow up so fast! Get Kristiana to help you read the bedtime stories.
The Sinatra I adored was the very young yearning one with Tommy Dorsey -- I was one of the swooning bobby-soxers at the Paramount Theatre in NYC, melting at age 14 when he sang "All, or nothing at all..." without really knowing what that was about (we were naive in those days)
a very thoughtful essay on US immigration policy: http://tinyurl.com/3cqxmq
Wolfie - try to use books with lots of story-leading pictures. That way K can virtualy tell the story on her own.
Not only does she read the stories, but we are now reading chapter books at bedtime -- after we read a chapter or two she gets some time to read by herself... she usually spends that time rereading the chapter(s) we just read
We just finished 'The Wizard of Oz' and have just started on 'The Adventures of Robin Hood'
Wolfie - are you like me when I read to kids in that you like to act it out and 'do the voices'?
i vote for Dr. Doolttle, woulf
I don't always act it out these days, I usually am too wo4 out, but I do the voices
Woulfie -- whispering is bad for laryngitis -- better to croak (and I don't mean the finality)
That is gonna be next, dc! It has been on her bookshelf since she was born waiting for her to be ready
How old is she, Woulfie?
I will take that under advisement, jilli -- I am opting for total silence now that they are in bed
Oh yes, silence is best!
silence and tea with honey and lemon are my balm with laryngitis.
I was always the chosen one, by the kids, at playgroup/nursery to read the stories. Had kids on my lap, hanging off my legs, sitting all around. But that can backfire... I remember my little daughter, who was there because her older brother was a member of playgroup, putting a stop to that. She'd just learned to walk and could already talk and had obviously had enough of all those other children hanging around me. She stumped across the room, shoved little girls off my lap and yelled, 'MY MUMMY!'
Kristianna is 4 1/4 years old -- her brother will be 2 at the end of Jan
She's 20 now and she still remembers doing it. (Still feels the same, too. LOL!)
how, charming, jac!
silence may be best, but, of course, that ends up leaving the wife feeling a bit left out! Thankfully as a nurse, she can be sympathetic in her dismay
DC, do I want to read that Immigration essay 8-)
So cool that you read to her...
it's short, and pro-open borders, pam, so up to you.
well, woulfie, there are lots of substitues for silence witha wife *lecherous grin*
Wolfie - can't Mum join in with the story telling?
jilli - BEHAVE WOMAN!
why, jac?
Erm - dunno, jilli. Family site and all that?
;)
Building family is what it is all about, Jac *sly grin*
ANyway, jilli, if Wolfie starts sounding like Barry (Crooner) White and his voice is so deep it vibrates through his wife's chair.... well, we'd better all leave the room. LOL.
Wow, dc.... this is me, LOL: simplistic, naïve, starry-eyed, unrealistic, extremist, uncompromising, radical
attaboy woulfie! (remember that word from a grid or two ago?)
You two are incorrigible! LOL
good for you, pam! i'm all for idealism!
Lead me to Barry White wot I ain't never heard of...
Jac -- one of my appellations during my college days was "The everhopeful, incorrigible, encouragable romantic" ;-)
*Nips off to find typical Barry White trrack for jilli to listen to.*
8-) ping
Wolfie, I can believe that! BBS.
mainly cos hopeless romantics are usually boring and pathetic
pam, did you see my thank you below - about motherless brooklyn?
Oh yum to you woulfie!
No, ping, sorry, you know how I space in anad out of chat
jilli - Barry White (put your headphones on and turn the bass up!) http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=BXvHRnGe 940
And I have to agree with an earlier comment that this grid is not as easy as it could be -- I am finding it to be positively beastly!
Here's another, jilli: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=-X-_OcmN Rq4
Hi
evening, lady
good evening, lady
Wolfie - that's nonsense! The comment about hopeless romantics, I meant.
Hi, Herin.
i'm really enjoying the book - that's all i said, pam
Jac -- when they mature hopeless romantics are just fine, but when you are just out of your teens I stand by my statement
Hi back
Great, ping!!!!
Though I do have to admit that this Sinatra song probably best describes how I met Paul ;) http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3uiLGNnm 9l8
(And we met on-line!)
But there is a certain negative perspective related to being a hopeless romantic to me -- thus my twisting it to being everhopeful
Not on a dating site!
thanks, jac, I've saved tham and will tune in asap but right now there's a battle going on between babble, babblechat, Corrie (for another 5 minutes) and my need to have supper!
Jac is way too cute about your little one
jilli - what's for supper?
Hi herinfernallady! How are you? Welcome to the grid
Thanks, herin. She looked like a little punk rocher when she was born, then changed to Betty Boop (dark hair and big eyes, just like her Mum but with her Dad's long eyelashes, damn him!) LOL
Does anyone have a clue for the an 6/18 word please
Whoa, jac -- looong eyelashes!!!! Ooooh
rocker not rocher, whatever that is. LOL
Hi MIn
Jac that is still cute.
Paul has long eyelashes, too. Ex-hubby had fair eyelashes long enough for top and bottom sets to get tangled if he blinked wrong. GRRRRR! I've always wanted long eyelashes and high cheekbones. However, friend's Mum (who hadn't seen me for about 25 years till she saw me at her daughter's 2nd wedding last Saturday) told me I still looked 'just the same' and still had 'that cheeky grin' so that's cheered me up.:D
an6/18 is to spread oil upon a body.
Jac that will cheer anyone up
Thank you for the an6/18 clue. I just found the word
jac, you won't approve of supper -- a deli pastiche of roast turkey, stuffing, mushroom gravy, roasted veggies, mashed spuds, which takes about 3 minutes in the (horror!) microwave so I can enjoy not cooking
LOL, jilli. I knew you'd say that.
OH Jill yummy
Herin - indeed it would. Did me, anyway!
I have not given up on the gym but i have
jilli - getting something from a deli is a little different to buying one of those freezer centre micro meals in a box.
Seen my new flickr pics of the wedding, herin?
looking now
I don't have a wonky leg in the one of me embarking on the boat... I just have one leg crossed over the other.
LOL jac, and Roy and Haley's caff just got burnt, wherewith I shall leave to warm up supper and let you explain that to the lot *cackle*
Jac whos wedding was it sorry?
Heck, jilli - I remember it happening but that's all I remember.
any help with the ors?
I'm stopping at 90 words! Thank you all for the clues!
Herin - It was one of my old schoolfriends. 2nd wedding second wedding of an old schoolfriend I've been to this year. Weird thing was, 1st was Sheila and Gary and 2nd was Sue & Guy. Things come in threes so I am not wondering which of my other old schoolfriends whose name begins with 'S' is going to marry a man with a 'G'. LOL
Well, jac, you can have the pleasure of explaining Roy and Haley :)
Goodnight to my fellow babblers!I'll see you tomorrow
Night Min
night Min, hi everyone
Herin yes they do
madd - all 3 or words begin with the Tolkein character or a whale.
Farewell, Min - have a great night!
Night Min!!! Hope you had fun!
'Night, Min.
Hi dawger. You were in the grid a couple of days or so ago. Not allowed though!
Well placed apostrophe, jac - lol
hey lbd -- how's things?
OH boy i stuffed up
jilli - Oh! Thank you so much! How does one explain a nerd with a shopping bag who is married to a woman who was once a man?
Hey Woulfie! things are cold here! how about you?
Hehe, jac :D
Jacula found the 7 and 8 thnx
ttfn (still short of half way)
just found the other :)
too stinkin' warm around here!! I should not be able to take the trash out at midnight while wearing just a t-shirt and pajama pants
Ignore that jilli woman! She's just trying to leave me in deep sh**!
SOrry i meant Jac
Short or long pyjama pants, wolfie?
Just want a clear picture for the log. LOL
herin - I guessed that.
I also blame the fluctuating temps for my cold and laryngitis -- if it would just stay chilly like it is supposed to, I would be fine (Jac - long)
Spoilsport, wolfie! LOL
...but short sleeves on the shirt
I am a little bit brain fried. I tried to do the Body Balance class and i lasted 10 min before my knee craped out
i'm afraid you'd have pneumonia here Woulfie. although currently it's 33°F.
Do you have the arms of Ronon Dex, Wolfie? (SG-Atlantis, as though I need to tell you!)
Yayyy, I finally have reached the halfway point! It should not have taken me an hour to find 55 words... even with all the chatting I have been doing
blame it on the cold you have or the laryngitis...can't say the words to make them go to the grid.
Okay, sitting up straight now and not being silly any longer. I finished hours ago and so I can clue, if anyone wants.
That would require me having the ability to work out without impinging on family time, Jac -- maybe in another year or so
LOL, okay Wolfie.
LB thats too cold
the windchill is 29°F. it's a good reason to stay inside!
LB thats brass monkey and fur garter weather
Dunno if MrP and Lickety will use ALL of my firework theme videos for the lickety list (which I don't use and only see in catch ups re the vids later) but if they use them in the order I sent them they may be a little heavily weighted on the Ronon Dex (Jason Momoa) side. LOL
Mind you, my icon pic of Jason in the sea is certainly good for slowing up the ladies on finishing a grid when I haven't finished yet. I just chat a lot. LOL
lbd -- having the nights go to freezing and the days linger in the 40's would be just perfect for me -- that would actually let me get better faster for being consistent
It's quite mild in the day at present here in UK, but when the sun goes down about 5pm it goes really cold.
Not cold a la Canadian/US temps though.
i like the nights to be cold, good snuggle under the covers and sound sleeping weather. unfortunately, it makes getting out of bed all that much harder.
Last night the temps actually starting rising overnight -- midnight was 5 degrees warmer than at sunset
Oh and im sick of my knee being a bitch thus im going to the gym
I'm sure this front will be heading your way Woulfie. Stidmama sent it to me, and i gladly send it on
Hi everyone
given my druthers, I prefer the cold to the heat -- you can always put on another sweater.... once you are down to skin, what do you take off?
hey, peeps
lol woulfie, you submerge in cool water
Here's another song for you all to listen to whilst Babbling - Frank and daughter Nancy this time. I love this song! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=1l0uU7Ag Qks
Hi muse and tyger!
Hi Muse! Woulfie, i so agree with you. I much rather have the cold weather too, and for the same reasons.
hi tyger
lady -- I just took a better look at your icon pic -- that is a great pic!
hi woulf and lbd and tyg!
hi herin

Oh gawd, he's off flirting again! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=937A1ELV yUs
she's baaaaack :)
Good evening, don't have much time. I need a clue for in5/14, please?
Ha ha
hi marc
I think i am going to give my local gym another wack and wear a stupid knee brace this time
who?
Hi marc
in + now I *** me down to sleep...
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=LJDrVU-r 8aE
hi, my and grey
I don't think I could better muse's clue, so I won't try
I don't see a 'p'
or a 'u'
OH I got it
marc the child's prayer
see? I said it was a great clue :)
thx tyg :)
Marc may be of a different religious persuasion - or none
didn't think about that
yw, muse. it was inspired. I was trying to think of one
I was actually thinking along dental lines - silly me
Any more clues needed?
any more clues needed? maybe lightning will strike me next time
wow, jac
Wow, what, tyger? What did I do/say?
jilli would have said "snap" because we were saying basically the same thing. are you usually up at "0 dark thirty" like this?
Oh, right. We say 'snap!' here in UK, like the card game.
I'm used to seeing you in the afternoon or early evening (western hemisphere time)
well, jilli is a brit - originally, ennywho
marc! hey how are you doing? hows the business? hows the retired rabbi?
Well, tyger, I was unwell on Monday night and went to bed early and stayed there for about 12 hours. Not tired come Tuesday night, hence me being awake on Weds morn at 4.09am.
that explains it
Ren - you're back. Have you finished the grid yet?
actually the mistress stays up all night and rests all day...until sundown that is :)
LOL
yes i did mistress
HI RENIIIIIE
Tee hee, Ren. Many people don't make that connection between Jacula and Renfield, methinks. They see you call me 'mistress' and are too polite to ask why.
herin!!!
Congrats on finishing the grid ren. That's not bad going for an insect eating crawler!
:P
we need to show dracula 101
hey muse
hi ya ren
(Mustn't upset Ren too much in case she opens the curtains when the sun comes up).;)
never mistress! i know who bakes my shoofly pie!
Oh my gosh i just realised your frecking reference
:)
Oh dear, Ren! Do you think I may have just dispelled lots of lesbian/s&M and gawd knows what else images?
No i was just trying to work it out and i knew that it had nothing to do with that
Well... they only think they know!
LOL
you need to post your mistress of the dark icon!
don't know the literature/movie involved, but I do recognize literary references when they bop me on the head. :D
I do, Ren! I used to use that and my Kira (cat one) all the time, didn't I?
Yes, Bram Stoker, tyger.
yes mistress! those are great icons
I don't "do" horror
:)
I am struggling to stay awake
herin, it's bright and early for you, more or less, isn't it??
didn't you sleep last night?
Have you finished the grid, Herin? I'm sure you said earlier that you had.
um its 1517
oh
No i said earlier i had to go out. Been up since 630am as i was excited by this stupid body balance class and it was crap
siesta time? :)
3.17am or pm? pm, methinks.
bummer
military time
1517 is 317om
with a 24 hour clock, anything past 1200 is PM
3:17 pm i have 24 hour clock used to it when i was doing security
I just said that, herin.
unless she's using Greenwich time
or a time clock?
which isn't very reasonable, on t'other side of the globe
nearly all time clocks use it, too
I am in UK and the time is 4.19am pip, pip, pip.
as ren said
pip and emma
I used to be a security guard so i am used to 24hour clock
as opposed to ack emma
;)
it's interesting watching Norton do the very first defrag ever of the new puter (as I am right now)
is DC around, but being (uncharacteristically) silent?
he was here earlier
thx
defrag's are interesting in a fragmented so4/4 of way
hey ping
hi rennie
yeah, ren. they are that (not a bad pun, but not a groaner)
how are the wee ones ping? when are you guys out for the holidays?
I awas looking at the pics of MrP and Lickety's house on the estate agent's site the other day... how hard it must be to have all your clutter packed up, try to keep every particle of dust out of the house AND still live there with kids, as a family. As for the decorating everything neutral and giving incoming buyers nibbles and room-explanation cards... I have to be profane here. FU** OFF! If you do not have the imagination or the get up and go to see the potential of my home or the umph to want to make it your own, then you are not the one I want to buy my home.
Hi Everyone... clue for the or7/8?
everyone is well now ren - we'll go to arkansas for tgiving
will you stay here?
also watching an ebay auction count down. It's time to buy new Norton stuff (expires next month)
hey, DR
hey doc
Hi Tyger and Ping and Jac
we're staying home - doing abso nothing
hey dr
Hi Ren
or7: or + ***namon + "the **der woman"
HI DR
or8 is plural
howdy DR
or7 & 8 (8 is the plural) = whale start = not out + type of oil from black fruits (first 2 letters). (Popeye's girlfriend's first name, too.)
haven't a clue what it is
thanks tyger - i needed those too
yvw
abso sounds good to me
Hi Herin, GW- Thanks Tyger
and Jac
is the mez still healing?
yw :)
yes ping - he is doing good - we went for a walk sunday night
any other clues needed?
any other clues needed?
hello, 42 left
Too many Tyger- I need 42 words
wow, how did it repeat?? I didn't type it twice, honest
great, ren - happy to hear that
hey, harp
Snap Harp
hi everyone!
hi harp
What is it with all these unimaginitive home buyers? Do they not want to make their mark on a house to make it their own? That was half the fun of it when we were buying homes. Still is!
hey, carra
hey harp
Hi Carra
Hi Tyger, DR
that's the very thing I hate about apartments, jac. You can't really personalize them
hi carra
Hi Ping
when you're spending the money to buy, you can do what you please - if you have the imagination to "please", I guess
clues? (see if it doubles this time)
Making your mark on your home is one thing, Jac -- having to remove someone elses mark first (and the related expense) before doing so is what buyers seek to avoid these days
tyger - was it yu who mentioned a 2-roomed apt when MrP first put up the pics of her spacious home?
no
I have a 2BR apt
mrp's moving from the tree house?
Wolfie - lack of imagination and ambition is what I see for that. Lack of money was always present!
living room, kitchen, bath & 2 BRs
minuscule hallway
agree tyger.. when i lived in fl a few years ago i was renting a condo ( my first place) I was like 17/18 anyway the place was horrible and my roomate does tile... so we got to put new tile in the kitchen/dining room/bathroom and he got this really expensive carpet super cheap from one of the stores he got work from..brand new was so nice
I think lack of ambition is the today problem!
wherein dwells the HVAC & a totally inadequate linen closet
Hi Carra
and had money taken off rent too woohoo :)
Hi Herin!
sounds like you had great fun, carra
tyger -- sounds like my apartment -- I ended up shrinking my hallway even more by putting my bookcases there
oh yah and i painted.. i love painting :)
help with yi 5 please?
Ren Mr Pres is selling the tree house
absotively no room for anything in my hall
bookcases are everywhere else :)
And i think it was MYMuse and me that said that our place could fit in one room
I just noticed the time. I'm gonna hafta leave for a few
the bathroom was tan... so at 2 in the morning i was bored and took this brown paint and a plastic bag.. went to town looked nice
Ping - yi5 rhymes with the meaty mi5.
Tyger we are getting a 2 or 3 bedroom house and one room will be a stddy with book selves everywhere
later tyger
the bookcases in the hall are only half of them -- the rest are in the living room
yep, looked like my 2br could fit in her kitchen/dining area, lol
thanks jacula!
yi rhymes with "I'm tired si*** I finished cleaning house"
ren - I'm talking tp the lost re homes, methinks.
the rental apartments here are getting as small as Japan I think
oops, you already got it
y/w, Ping.
never thought of pie
back in a few
ty tyger
im hoping to move to the city in march/april... im going to miss space.. and not being able to lay on my floor and be in all rooms at once haha
PING! hi! hello all!
Canadian and Australian homes have so much more floor space than most typical homes in UK. Maybe then, we have to be more inventive.
hey stid!
hi stiddy
Hi Stid!
Hi Stid!
Hi Muse!
hi dr!
With luck, next year we will be buying a home provided we can find a decent mother daughter home to share with Kirstens mom
muse! how was the concert the other night?
US homes can be humungous or so tiny you'd keep brooms in them.
{{**STID**}}
hi woulfie! hi ren!
Ha. I don't have a broom...
LOL maybe that explains the state of my floors?
hmmmm, concert?
Hello, stid.
hi stid and muse
hi ping
didn't you go see yo-yo ma? or was that someone else...
hi peeps
not I, alas, perhaps Dorens?

stid - pot wrecks your brain! LOL
Poor Ren
{{{ren}}}
I have heard so Jacula, but where's yer prufe?
Ren xx
my brain doesn;t need pot to get wrecked
do you prefer cast iron, ren, or stainless steel? *hefting pots on both hands*
What's a prufe, stid?

jo5 is the place where one major bone in the body meets another for bending purposes.
harp, marijuana
i must be getting old, I got jac's clue and was mystified by yours, my muse!
This is beginning to sound like Country Joe & The Fish at Woodstock!
lol, well maybe if I said "rolled"
Can't we all just to Santan's Rainchant instead, given the current weather?
*Santana's

an6 - to consecrate with oil
ty Jac... 1 word left... looking....
*Wonders if Herin's Cat of Glory will play for her whilst she sleeps?*
Oh yuck! I just checked the forecast for tomorrow... the temps are supposed to be up in the 60's!! and it is currently about 37 degrees outside now
the for the an5 :) sorry got distracted
Found it! fireworks
Neither of my cats (even the late Kira, bless her soul) would not have bothered. Think my old dog might have tried though!!
Well done, DR.

or a flash? ;)
A hot flash and a flashback, tyger. LOL
[grin]
That's nasty, tyger. You bitch! LOL
na-na-na tigress ;)
Only kidding!
much meaner (sometimes)
I still have those if I don't take my HRT a few days a month
Well, all I can say is that I am glad I was born in late 50s and so got to know music before that (right back to 20s) and I think I am priviledged to have had my heyday in 60s and 70s when the most innovative music was being made (and in the time when the term 'teenager' was coined).
And now it is my turn to say good night and seek my bed -- {{**HUGS**}} for all and farewell
born before the end of WW2, here
nite, wolfie
the mi 6/7 combo?
mi6/7 is a Hebrew quorum
nite woulfie!
need more?
Tyger - I sometimes, like present times, get woken up on the hour every hour (that mus be when the body assesses its temperature) by night sweats (nighttime version of hot flushes/flashes). I will not be resorting to HRT though.
harp, m + not out + Chinese yin-***g
mi6 and 7 sound like slaves.
thanks
I have other side effects that make it most unpleasant if I don't (not to be described in public)
Glad you found it, harp.
i can only imagine, tyger! lol I probably have them too
I hope you don't! They're most unusual - and scary. I had a supra-cervical hys @ 29
i'm just going off hrt this month after 6 years. Time to find out what I would be like if left to my own devices...
yo5?
tyger - take care iwth HRT. Other Half's Mum took it for 12 years and now has Paget's Disease (which I am sure was caused by HRT). She's due to have her right breast removed on 26th Nov.
I was one sick puppy, abdomen full of infection
yo5: yo + "good **ght"
I take it 5 or 6 days a month
I've tried repeatedly to get off, but the other problem always comes back
um, thanks tyger, i got the word but the clue was for yo4, wasn't it?
oops. well, just add a consonant on the end. :)
add a consonant harp
done
very good :)
grats, harp
sl 7?
I'm back now. Just had to hi-tail quickly out for a moment or two.
great icon, harpjane!
sl7 is an Irish blessing, I think - or a toast
hi again, jac
add oppos of coffee to the dead term, -a
hi jilli
rhymes with a sanctified, holy person
hey, jilli
hello muse and all
no idea
with an added vowel on the end
ok
Look! The hot sweats and night sweats might well continue ntermitte ntly until your 80 (yes, this IS what I know from talking to my Mum's friends). It's not worth trying to stop them with HRT.

The dryness thing in other parts? Dunno yet. Havn't experienced it yet so not asked the older ladies yet.
did that do it, carra?
Hey, I'm 80 and no night sweats, lol, unless I dream sweaty dreams...
jac, my problem is bleeding.
didn't want to say that
How old are you tyger? You're a grandmother at least, I think?
bleeding? Get it checked out
been there tyg
been there tyg
I said it was unusual
muse, now it's echoing you! :)
what is hrt?
my keyboard hangs up from time to time
jlli, I've seen a dozen different docs. I've got the best solution anybody can come up with
Tyger, I ask because if your periods have been stopped for some time and you are bleeding then you to need to see your doctor.
it echoed me earlier
HRt is hormone replacement therapy
hrt, carra = Hormone Replacement Therapy.
ooh
and that is what, tyger?
well then you are fortunate tyg, coz the doc's solution for me I wound up with pulmonary emboli and critical care for a while
I had a supracervical hysterectomy 35 years ago. I am under continuous care of a GYN. I get a pelvic ultrasound annually
tyger - go to another doctor, no matter how far away he is. Bleeing at your age is not right!
Well, that's the best you can do, tyger!
yup
Jacula is right
I watch carefully, cos my mother & her mother both died of ovarian cancer
i'm back
wow, tyger -- I'd get them removed
current GYN suggested semi-annual ultrasounds, but I decided it wasn't worth it -not to mention the expense
hi dc -- girl talk right now
most everything is already gone, jilli
tyger - did you have awful period pains in your youth? I'm thinking here about endimetriosis.
removed in 1972
i saw jilli, all good :)
no uterine tissue left, jac, and never had endo
sl7?
I had bad cramps as a teen, but they were better on birth control
But if you still have your ovaries then get them scanned,
sl7 rhymes with ***** Augustine
I did ask for the first an 5/10.....
I have half an ovary, which is most carefully scanned each year
and I clued you jilli
harp - sl7 is the Gaelic word for 'cheers!'. Patron sa*** with another consonant after the first one.
got it, thanks
somebody gave a clue, jilli I'll give it a try
And a vowel at the end,
mi 5.12?
sorry, muse -- missed it *scrolling back*
an5/10: an + Scottish ***s

What's the point of half an ovary, if you don't mind me asking?
mi5/12: not a major, but a mi***
absolutely an ouef is anouef
lol
I was 29. Dr was trying at beginning to leave me still able to reproduce. By end of surgery was just trying to take out least possible. 1972, remember
oh sorry I didn't realize it was a serious discussion
He even blindstitched all except the end stitches "so I could wear a bikini if I wanted" He was a sweetie
hey, ruru

hi dc..

DC, I've been trying to remember to tell you. There was nothing wrong with my Java or Javascript. I was trying to do something I wasn't supposed to

I appreciate the loving concern, ladies, just in case it sounded otherwise

well, it apparently doesn't work *at all* on bigcrumbs.com
my wife is debating on hormone Rep therapy... what dose is enough and what dose is too much
No reply about the half an ovary q then?
what was the question again, jac?
Aloha Babblers!
ruru, my advice is to get opinions from at least 2 doctors
hey, fran
Just got back from seeing other half off to work in a blaze of light from other females seeing their men off to work, even though to Rover factory shut down somee time ago.
aloha, fran!
Hi Fran..
Him fran. xx
hi tyger, jac, ruru, dc!
Hi Fran!
hi Fran
that is good advice..
hi muse! hi carra!
tyger - I was askig you what trhe point of having half an ovary was.
where the hell is HELL fran
Jac, I had a GYN about 15 years ago that wanted me to have surgery again to "clean me out" - until she talked to a GYN oncologist, who said "leave it alone"
i don't know ruru, i just don't want to go there...yesterday's theme. :-)
if you refresh you'll see my smile.
the surgeon who did it didn't explain. I've always assumed it was for purposes of hormone production
hi fran -- harpjane had the same icon idea as you, but differently done....
some of us have been there and back fran
If so, it didn't work very well
i hear ya ruru
fran, I meant the hell one, lol
smiles theme a happy. i won't offend anyone with it. :)

does that answer, jac?
yes, i figured that jilli.
hello babblers
i have a smile now, no more hell for me!

left myself a challenge yet again - 59 to go!
evening, HK!
hi helen
carra, you get your hair done there.

ha, monkeyed a ci4/5 -- midway achieved -- going to get a smile...
ruru, late last night and busy today
HK, you have SL7, Irish toast, meaning 'cheers!"?
whatsa grod DC?
My GP (local doc) recommended some 10 years ago that I should have womb, fallopian tubes and cervix removed... 'Your're 40 now, after all! Do you want any more kids? No? Well then get the lot taken out because your ovaries will only wither and die if you don't! Best to have it all taken out anyway! Who knows what will decide to turn cancerous?' Well, he had a point, I know, but I chose to ignore him, and anyway, the surgeion who was supposed to performm that, had I agreed to it, suddenly died, at 57.
I'm about to call it a nite. I missed bidding on the ebay item, and I hafta pay attention to what I'm doing finishing software firewall installation.
grid, grod, whatever ;)
well hop to it girl
don't have it, know how to say it, can't spell it - but i can spell c-h-e-e-r-s!

i agree w/fran, jac, and you were right to ignore that advice.

oh, cool, fran.
5.10 i mean
add a vowel to the seaweed, carra
carra, no + small river in spanish
ty
However, he knows, since he's been ny GP since Flintstone times, that I will ignore him... unless it's really important. This is the guy that kept going on at me about having a tetanus update jab as I'm a gardener and then stabbed me with one in my own front garden.
sprite started with 6-letter at me, and i had mostly vowels. :)
Wouldn't be allowed these days! LOL
lol jac!
na 5.10 ?
i started a game with her too, she probably hasn't seen it yet.
lucky you, jac, your GP knows how stubborn you are, lol!
carra, some people speak with a na*** twang
last year, i got a tetanus update from my GP, then went to the urgent care at the same practice the following week. They asked when my last update was, and i said 'last week', they said what' and i said 'last tuesday, with dr X." took'em a few to understand.
