The windmill theme makes me think of our car tirp through the western U.S. this summer. We were on the way to Las Vegas and approached the Mojave Desert and saw that fabulous windmill farm up on the mountain ridge. What a sight that was. We must have taken 50 pictures! Wind power....!!!

that sounds good bbnaz, but definitely outside of the turkey - can't imagine them combined
when i was growing up, my mum would stuff the neck cavity with the oyster dressing and use the main cavity for the regular stuffing
interesting bb, I use to stuff the neck with sausages
sausage went into the main stuffing.........
i would eat only the drumstick, stuffing and smashed potatoes

It was both good and bad. The weather was fantastic, hotel very very basic and there was a lot of hassle. The normal people are the kindest you could every meet, but there are bumsters who are just trying to get money out of you and they can be quite forceful.

Yep, they didn't seem to mind. If there were two of you they worked in a pack to split you up. I certainly wouldn't go there if I wasn't with a man, and I'm not normally a shy and retiring type. It's just a shame as most people were fantastic

Unless you can be really strong and don't mind the hassle I wouldn't recommend it. People on holiday there fell into two camps, those who go back every year and those who would never go again. We were quite lucky as we were adopted by a local who looked after us out of friendship rather than with demands for money, but many people stopped in the hotel

annual event at James Madison University, open to 7th-12th graders (roughly 12-18 yr olds), who play orchestral instruments, a long weekend in dorms at the uni, and an intensive weekend of playing culminating in a 3-orchestra concert no Sunday

i did it for years, and my cousin, who's in grade 7 this year, plays bass, and i know he'll love it as much as i did. Plus, since he lives in Cleveland, OH, he'll be a novelty, as he won't be from VA, MD, DC, nor WV
good for them, rolin - and for you. I think music may be the best gift we can give our children, even if they leave off playing an instrument later in life, they will remember so much.

stid, i did orchestra in summer school from middle school on through HS, is that offered where you live?
i play piano, violin, viola, cello, and accordian
and its the discipline of it all too stid...(tho i know that seems remote just at this moment).. and the comeraderie

there isn't a summer school that does that, but the younger kid participates in their youth orchesta's two-week program each summer. The older kid was too old to participate when we learned about it.

I loved my aborted piano lessons -- aborted because of so many moves, wartimes and such besides no money for so long, and no piano!
what great instruments! our trombone player is also a fiddler... he loves it. And he's very good. Plays in the group that one of his school's teachers put together to teach kids.
