Also Granny Maxx says hi

late flip! and an itty bitty one
I always miss her - thanks herin
Nope nothing there
She was on last night
well, I'll have to explore facebook another time but now have 3 friends -- stid, bb, fran -- couldn't figure out how to send a message to fran yet but thanks!
hi fran! I'm still trying to figure this facebook thing out, I sent you a message re feather
hi feather -- I'm puzzling facebook out too
HI My
hi herin, hi jilli!
Ok sorry i missed it. What was teh KA lenght please
I just posted a small note on your profile page Jill -- what fun. I don't have it all figured out either... Not sure how much time I have for yet another distraction.
and I have ONE word in this grid -- looks tough to me but I see people are finishing in record time so it must just be me
go jill go! it's not as bad as it looks... perhaps if you put susie cat down and type with TWO hands?
good evening - late flip
hi stid, flosey
stid, you have to accept my growing gift.
Hey flosey! how was your weekend?
okay, dogs need their evenign snack and "business" run. Will see you-all again as soon as I can.
bye stid!
um, why have to and what will it do? I was confused because there were three million thingys waiting for me!
hi flosey
good thanks stid, had a great time with daughter - her bf and his 14 yr old daughter
hi muse! hi flosey!
great icon flosey!!
hi jilli
ah, same one again Fran
OH K this is stupid can someone please tell me what the KA lenght is please for the FOURTH TIME
stid, it's a plant that will grow in your profile. i guess you don't have to, but it's nice.
just came in herin, haven't started yet
infernal, dart gave a great clue, both Ks are 4 letters
night all -- been going back and forth between the grid and pbs -- going to watch the end of the Andre Rieu concert.
what's a KA length, lady?
night nan!
nice short one, will dive in now
I put on a whiteboard, but now I can't find the things people sent. hm. I'll figure it out tomorrow. {{{thanks for the plant fran, I'll find it}}}
Well Darts clue is not on the chat so escuse me for asking 4 fecking times
good night/happy days all! *poof*
oh, I see, ka word
thanks i found it
night, stid
nite, Stid. I'm missing a y, e, t, g--all 4. Is there an my?
Fran I don't see her on your list ??
flosey, I love your bug
are you there taff?
thanks jilli
how strange muse, she couldn't see you on my list!
the answer is yes--found it.
and the beautiful Monarch Butterfly jilli - so many of them in Ontario too
muse, even when you click on "see all"?
hmmmmm, you can tell her to add me
yep, see jilli, stid, sprite, etc. but no heather
OH there is a lady on the telly that has the original Gollywog badges. They are very cool
this is a mystery because i told her to search for your name and she couldn't find you either.
you're invisible to each other!
well I can find 3 of her lol
when i search i find 4 of her
muse, can you find her in the members of "babblers worldwide?"
how do I do that ?
OH and i just learnt were the Gollywog came from
i think both of you have your privacy settings pretty high. :-)
do you have a groups link on the left muse?
what's a gollywog infernal?
yes
when I tried to find a babble group came back zip
click on that
yes your Amateur Gourmet somehow comes up on mine
if you don't see it on that page, type "babblers worldwide" into the search box
Fran a gollywog is a black doll with frizzy hair. Its called a Golly now as its rather unPC to use the wog bit. Now the interesting thing is is MIster Gollywog was a Dutch doll that had all these wonderful adventures.
The reason he was black was he was a chimney sweep
yes muse, the list on the left is to show you what your friend(s) are up to.
that's interesting infernal, it's that PC thing again. *sigh*
ok I'm in the "site"
scroll down to the members box and see if you can find her there.
Now to me this site is complete bullcrap as the Golliwog was a friendly man
http://www.ferris.edu/jimcrow/golliwog /
THis is about the golliwog as a racist thing.
nope she's not listed :(
The thing was once again something innocent was twisted into something that wasn't
muse -- are you using a smurf as an icon in facebook?
http://www.golliwogg.co.uk/history.htm this Fran is the site about the gollis
i need help
no stid, a pic of my son, nephew and myself
muse, that is just weird, can you see her wall post on babblers worldwide?
hi, guys
nothing about feather
hm. okay...
ugh -- I don't like these little grids
hi takuma! hi OB!
hi takuma!
I'm listed as Karen Mymuse
hi Takuma
Lately, I've been trying to guess how many words each grid yields, before I see the real count -- I was way high on this one.
rockets before midnight here!
HI Takumo
okay, looking...
YAY bb!
moving horses to another horseshow (at least in town) tomorrow. so off to bed.
nighty night folks
g'night bb -- and congrats!
muse, maybe she'll be able to see you at babblers worldwide
yay bb! night!
ok babbler's group added to my page now, shows only 56 people total
fireworks
YAY crp!
sweet dreams bb!
muse, i just sent you a message with a link to heather's page
yay crpw!!
goodnight all
sweet dreams crp
night crpw!
lol Fran it looks like it's bringing me to my first page
`v b
very strange muse. i'm going to check the security page and see which setting is making you two invisible. :-)
does anyone have a clue for co6,24? Thank you.
I can't find muse at all -- must have set yourself to invisible to all in the profile?
hey galey: co 4 that precedes + vowels
muse, going to message you in facebook
ok stid I sent you a request since I can find you on Frans page
I have selected "only friends" is that the problem?
fran didn't work
i think it's your search settings muse, i just sent you a message
do I check the public search listing?
I found it! thanks muse
you don't have to do that
that's for external search engines
if you set your search to "everyone" that should be enough
Ok I bet feather has the same thing going on
I have a babble sandwich happening top and bottom row greyed
yup, i'll let her know tomorrow
yay infernal!
make sure your profile is still set for "friends only" thouth
*though
I am eating RIce thins (salt and vinegar) and my b.f callls them recyclable coasters
wow, that was a short one! Fireworks
YAH FLOSEY
ok its still friends only, but babble doesn't show up as network
YAY flosey!!!!!
THat lone I please help
last one co6,24 still stuck on that one
just back from checking lady's golliwog site -- most interesting!
yeah, babble is a group, not a network
aaah
The University site of that one seems stupid where as the real site is fantastic
some of the networks are like your graduating class or city, that kind of thing
WOWIE, flosey -- I'm up to 7 words now, but have been rather distracted by facebook and golliwogs and cat litter box and so on
Can i have help for the lone I (EYE)Please
you can only be in one
galey, first ga word + 2 more vowels
fran, I think somehow the plant got deleted. There was a HUGE FLOOD of things and I clicked "ignore" a whole bunch of times and things sort of vanished. Or I might have played with the settings too much. I am REALLY not good at these networking sites *sigh*
go Jill go!
not for me Fran, I like being somewhat anonymouse
infernal, i'm kind of if** about telling you that one.
sorry, got distracted there, galey, it's the co - same clue
not asking for a new plant, just letting you know why it's not on my page...
Ok ill have a fish please
lol stid!
stid, if you want a plant i can send another one. :-)
>*)--((((--<< THWACK!

Hi lickety! Do you have a new version that finds words for us?!!!

mom that would be no fun then!
i understand, when you guys are settled after the sale i'll look you up.
thanks fran - my movie soul mate ;-)
lol, isn't that a hoot
just kidding -- i'd be nowhere on most grids w/o beta v11! when lickety's not able to post clues i break out in cold sweat!
Glad I'm helpful mom - It all came about seeing mrp go through the same heartache at the start
muse, did you fall asleep? we can always finish tomorrow. :-)

She's not very helpful...every time i try to focus early, she tells me I do my best work under pressure! Conflict!
yes...so if u are WELL organized...and have all your fcts laid out in a row....then u will do even BETTER under pressure at the end to create a masterpiece

Annie--I played tennis yesterday and did well! I am so relieved. I am playing again this morning. I still have an occasional twinge of pain, but I am stretching a lot.
TY
scrabbler, glad to hear that ordeal is over
Yes, me too, Annie, as for about 1 wk the nerve pain was excruciating.
Hmm, is that like a co4/6 which Samuel Morse created? 2 vowels after that one?
Oops, yes, it is--I tried another combo and got it.
yes, scrabbler
yes
mornin bablers!
hi EvaN
I spent the afternoon with my friend, Mary, yesterday. She is a faithful fighter against the cancer, but she is getting slammed by radiation.
Hi Eva
good day to all
Scrabbler, Your friend Mary is in my prayers every night
have a good day, BR
hope all the american babblers has a lovely thanksgiving weekend. :)
I did and you
so many have so much to deal with
it was quite enjoyable. :)
yes, BR, I also pray for Pida's daughter, Nutty's husband and Carlee's husband..
hubby just called from Hong Kong- the time change is a killer - one of us will always be drinking coffee, while the other will just be drinking!
rut roh -- is it a rough season for babblers?
for some it looks that way
TY so much, Annie.
The Blessing of Unanswered Prayers I asked for strength that I might achieve; I was made weak that I might learn humbly to obey. I asked for health that I might do greater things; I was given infirmity that I might do better things. I asked for riches that I might be happy; I was given poverty that I might be wise. I asked for power that I might have the praise of men; I was given weakness that I might feel the need of God. I asked for all things that I might enjoy life; I was given life that I might enjoy all things. I got nothing that I had asked for, but everything that I had hoped for. Almost despite myself my unspoken prayers were answered; I am, among all men, most richly blessed. - Unknown Confederate soldier
I discovered this when I was searching for Thanksgiving Day prayers and I LOVE it so much that I am sharing it with everyone.
scrabbler, what a powerful poem
that IS a good one Scrab
Isn't it amazing?
So much wisdom in there.
yes, there is, scrabbler
kinda reminds me a little bit of the toast i made at my brothers wedding...
And, as BR can attest, soldiers experience hell.
ok, time for me to get breakfast...back in a bit!
I'm leaving in 3 mins for yoga - really I am!
"Just one more word, just one more word."

~*~*~*~*~*~*FIREWORKS!!!!!*~*~*~*~*~
wtg Eva - hi all - back with 11 left...
Congrats Eva! Greetings from a displaced texan in Russia :-)
(humpf) 19 left...any clues out there for the first "e"?
e+double consanant+vowel
fireworks!
tx miss - wtg girl !!
thanks MissT!
np
I am not fond of these small puzzles!! The words are either totally obvious or complete "out there" (LOL read "way out of my league") :-) Any clues for first "f" (but not the "back side")
fa4 + musical note + opp. of yes
sk, first part of the back side plus a round vowel.
LOL Thanks Queen...an example of yet another one I'll have to check the dictionary! ;-)
I'm with you, I have no idea what it is.
Oooh, nice...sounds like a great vaca spot!
is there an H5 word ?
Montreal...evidently I'm slow on my "Sound of Music" tonight...didn't get it right away :-( Boy it's late...I...MUST...FINISH...NEED...MORE ...CAFFEINE!!
No, Montreal, all H's are 4 letters.
tx queen ! - np skh
I'm going to wander back to the real world, now that I've finished sudoku & Babble. Any clues needed afore I go?
thanks Wueen for your help :-)
Queen...can't type...obviously I need sleep
You're welcome, SK. So why are you in Russia??
ewmiA
wtg Queen !
Thanks, Montreal.
fireworks !
lol...ok...I am about to give up...traveling to USSR from TX in 1.5 days has got me loopy...but I can't be w/o my Babble!
How many do you have, SK? And congrats to Montreal!!
wtg Montreal!!
14 left
tx SK ... and go go go !!!
Oh so close. But sleep is important, I hear! :)
stuck on two ai words and thats all i have to go. clues please
sleep is overrated i hear...
Mkg, think of ready, ai*, fire!
I'm trying...but they are the way out there" words...at least I think they are
reddy, ai*, fire SK
montreal can you clue me those two ai words? is one plural?
yes mkg
2nd "f", not fe4/7
got the first three letters n ow what is after ready ai*?
the person who ai**
got them both thanks.
fe + **d or even
SK, fe4/8 fe + what are the **ds?
gotta go - any last second clue needed ?
thx Montreal
yw :)
Bye, Montreal. Have a good one.
tx queen, you too !
onward to sudoku then --- "POOF"
And I will finally wander away too. Laundry awaits. What fun! Take care all.
Shoot, Queen...thanks...guess I can't keep up reading the chatter...too busy staring into space...I mean the board ;-)
Thanks for your help! Have a good night Q
You're welcome, SK. Do you need any before I go?
Actually yes. 3 of the 4 "r"s...not the"pay" one
Okay, the re4/4 are similar. One is a spelling for King, I believe. And the other has a double vowel in the middle. The ry is a type of bread, pluralized.
duh...bread...thx, will work hard for the others, thx
With the king one, think "I am, you are, she ** " for the ending.
And both end in the same letter.
geat clue on "king"!!!
Glad it helped, SK. Remember the other one is a double vowel, so you already have the first one built in.
got 'em all thx so much...I might actually finish one of the darn things! HAHA
Good luck! If i can help anymore I'm really in no rush to do laundry!
well..lets see..plz let me gather my biz (you're so kind to put off laundry for me ;-) )
Yeah, I'm being noble, not lazy! That's it! :)
2nd "d"...not de4/8
do 4/11
de + hi **
sure...missing a 6
do - ends with double consonant
do ---remove hat in greeting
I'm not sure if you want the other de4/8 or the do4/11. do is to tip your hat. Ends in the opposite of on.
I'm back for a while
2nd de - to be good with the hands (i believe)
do 4/11...got that
the de that Annie didn't clue means capable. If you are good at something you are de**
got that de...still clueless :-)
the other de has to do with stereo...the old type--hi **
Or think of the word that means disobey & replace the last letter with a vowel.
thx Annie!
yw, sk
OK, ya'll are great...I've got 9 left...never finished a puzzle so I'm kinda psyched :-)
Go, SK, go!
what do you need, sk?
I've been done for a few hours, so I'll try to help clue :)
we are here to help you, go, sk, go!
Finished too early, now I have to do productive things, arrrgghhh
missing the bottom "a"...got the ai's and the "throat clearing"...what am I missing (if you can decipher my great hints ;-) )
ae---bird's home
An alternate spelling for an eagles nest.
ae 4/6
Sounds like when there is a lot of space in a room... Or the ending for an olden style little magical creature. Or...ae + **e bread
Good clues, Uniquity.
Ya;ll ROCK! thx
ok, next...
which is.....
"c"...I think it's one of the 5s?
there are no c 5s...there is a 6, is that it?
sorry, don't know how to clue it better
If so, it is the 4,6 + two vowels.
co 4/6 and another 2 vowels
there is no co 5's
There is no c 5. The 6 is the co4/6 plus 2 vowels.
got the 6...shoot...
I think there's an echo in here. :)
LOL. Great minds..
we are all of the same mind....echo...echo...
c + not on
Cs: two co4/6, one co6/24, one co4/11, one co4/8 Of those which do you have?
co 4/6---boy and girl dorm
not good at this...got 2 co4/6, a 6/24 and a co4/11...what am I missing
co + I o**en get confused at babble clues
co4/8 c + ***en (frequently)
you need a co 4/8----c + (pick up line) "do you come here ***en?
LOL great clue from everyone...it's been awhile sonce I've heard I pick up line, but hey, evidently it still works!
anything for a clue...:)
I'm back for a bit - coffee in hand
hi asg
Hi Asg.
true that Annie! hmm "g"...not gi4/9 or the 6/36
OMG 7 left...this is truly a record!!
gi + ** Harris, the actor?
gi + special **ucation.
I figure you don't need my third this time :)
FAB! (gonna look that one up later LOL)
Uni, was waiting for your clue :)
I think the selection is already perfect!
ok..."t"...gee...how can I clue this short? plz hold for a sec
the more the merrier uni...I can use soooo much help it's not funny! LOL
sk....is it ti 7 ----Breakfast at Ti*****, Capote's short story
got that annie ;-)
the first four letters of the seven are a word on their own
ti ----a spat,--ends in double consonant
Uni, great clue
te4/10 ends the same as the ti4/10
There is also what a clock tells you (the ti**), past tense of one who tells it, plural of the past tense AND plural of the original four letter word. (Bit confusing, I know)
I've got that and 2 4/5s, a 4/10, 2 5/12s and its 6/21
the rest of the ti's have to do with seconds, minutes, hours..etc
And I would clue the ti4/5 but I'm all ti** up right now.
Uni spells it out perfectly
sorry my reesponses come slow...I'm visit Russia
that takes care of the T's
so does my typing LOL
Sounds like you may be missing the te I clued earlier.
skheiny - it is a pleasure to clue, especially to someone so excited to finish. Your response time is irrelevant (but fine!)
Q = yeah, I totally missed that..is it out of reach? What time clock
babble chatter goes so fast...
sk ---you just "said" a Y word that is in the grid
ryone for your help
I agree with Uni.
Not with me! My computer is the old Fisher Price model with the coal chute on the side. It's sloooow.
Lol @ ruejean...I have my two year old devoted lappy. Supposed to be writing a paper right now, but this is much better!
Uni, you could write a paper on how to clue in Babble??
Yes, she could and get an A
SK, did you get the T you were missing?
I don't think my history prof. would be too impressed...if only I got credit for babble! Let us know what you need sk, I'll try to be more comprehensive if necessary
omg that was AWFUL!!! : I closed the tab by mistake and couldn't get back in!! whew, I'm back
Shoot...so many clues...pretty sure it's the "te" but I think the clues "runnoft" (from my fav movie)
The te ends in a double consonant. Same as the ti4/10
!!! I just watched O Brother the other night!!!
te + double consonant
LUV IT!!! George Clooney...mmmmm
Welcome back, Asg. :)
Man, showed it to two people who had never een it before...caught a few more things I had missed in my dozens of viewings. SO GOOD!
getting dressed, doing my checkbook, cluing, Lori, was O Brother good?
HAHA, can you believe i typed your mother's name instead of yours, Uni?
GOT IT!! thx so muc. 5 left...wish I could show my husband...he laughs when he sees me playing, I tell him I learn stuff..so pooh on him!
next word?
Pooh on SK's husband!
O Brother has been one of my fave movies (and soundtracks) for years. LoriP also agrees....but I think we are too much alike now!!!
pooh, pooh
Sk's husband needs to try this for himself, I fear...
BIG TIME POOH! 2 letters left...M and H...
do you have slangy yes?
ok...m first?
go, sk
one of our babblers, me 4/9?
my 4/5--the talking bird
There is a 4/9 that rhymes with a rude, icky person.
got me4/9, mi4/11, mi4/5 and me 4/9
take mi4/11 and add the sometimes vowel
can i just say again that ya'll ROCK!!!
Sure, we can't hear it enough. :)
you need my 4/7 the talking bird
I hate birds...need more :-)
Did you get the mi4/11 plus sometimes vowel one? that is one you are missing.
55? scary
(sorry to all the bird lovers)
the first two letters of Hawthorne's first name
It ends like the musical group Sha ** ** **.
my + babbies take **ps (and lucky grownups do too)
forgive me Queen...hy + sha ** ** **
Yes, I finally realized I put in one too many **'s
LOL...if I tell ya'll hat the cle that made the most sense was the Sha ** ** clue...does that "date" me too badly? ;-(
me too
nah!
Not at all. They are still touring!
ok...need 3 "g"s...hold for the barrage
gi 4/9 --Christmas gi**
Past tense of gi 4/9
gi - another word for present (also take that four letter and past tense it)
gi + Mister ** (a horse)
gi + ** Harris, the actor, again
and that's all the G's
OMG...I'll run out of time b4 I get a clue myself...Ineed H's
got ha4/6
The h's - ha4/6 is a pork product with a vowel inserted in the 3rd space. The next two ha4/5's start the same but end in different consonants. The two he4/5 both start the same. Look at he*, she is flying! The two hi's are past tense of to hurry and also the plural. And finally hy, is a song in a church.
t ha4/5 (2)
ha + I hold you in high **teem
shoot...Russia internet SUKS!!!
let me try this again
wow, Queen, you rock!
Queen...that was impressively fast typing!!
ha + **, the extraterrestial (sp?)
Well, I thought she already had the g's so I was working on the h's. That's why I didn't clue any g's. Not so fast after all.
not his but he**
ha4/6; ha4/5, he4/5. hy'4/8
and for the third time Hi + ** Harris, the actor
sorry, couldn't keep up w/chatter...(reviewing)
Annie, does ** Harris know about this "thing" you have for him? :)
sorry annie, that was one (and I LOVE him!)
2 left!!!!!!
No, he does not, it is my secret
but he does come in handy
Okay, I won't tell. ;)
the only way I am going shopping today is if skh finishes the grid, i am glued to this chair and thanks, Queen
man is he HOT + a good actor (I have a thing for "balding" guys...as my husband will attest)
he + registered nurse
This grid absolutely needs to be finished. It's such a rush!!
OOOOh, PLEASE don't let me keep you from shopping Annie!

skheiny, anything for babble!
*holding my breath*

mi 4/11 + sometimes vowel
asg, add the sometimes vowel to the mi 4/11
yeah me too...I can't figure what I'm missing from all the clues :-(
nm got it!
(with the mi4/11 being mi + double consonant)
skheiny, can you list again all the H's you have?

hi4/6
hi4/5

There are two HA4/5 They both start the same but one ends, as Annie said, Auntie ** the other ends like I ** something that didn't agree with me & now I am sick.
LOL
I think you need one of the ha 4/5s... ha + bird's n**t
ha + fishing n**
ka + not off
thank you!
cblinn - the k's are anagrams of each other. Both four letters (a ka and a ko)
Cblinn, the K's are anagrams of each other. The Ko is a Zen Riddle. KO + I'd like ** ice cream please

woohooo - now I'm an addict for sure! I need to jump in the shower then go shop - Channukah is EARLY this year!
well, not me..but they make credit cards for that LOL!!!!
enjoy the shopping and the holiday ASG
Happy shopping, ASG. And Happy Channukah!
But I am trying to "weasel" with my US address, but some web sites are too smart..they know I'm in Russia and won't take my US infor :-(
oh, it's Xmas/Channukah...time to splurge on the ones we love...right!?!
RIGHT
No splurging for me this year. Can't even afford to send cards. :(
oh my, got that silly i word!
If you need any clues on any, Dispatch, I'll be here a bit longer.
I'm down to my last two: CO6/24 and FA5/20. Clues, anyone?
lol...the fa is your bum
TY!
Co is the 4/6 plus two vowels.
and the co is the first co 4/6 plus 2 vowels
Good one, Dispatch. I forgot there were two co4/6. Bad llama.
clue for the e from the 4th column please?
TY, TY! Fireworks for me
hooray mom!!!
Congrats to Momof5!! Woo Hoo.
E is a very scary word
thanks mom, but that's from the corner
i have the ed and the ee
Q - let's chat...can I help? Is there 1 someone you'd like to do for? Really; I'd LOVE to help if I can...lemme know...SERIOUSLY!
Dispatch, it means to give off something. Like you em** sunshine in your smile.
oh my! thanks queen
Thanks, SK. It's fine. My husband's family doesn't do gifts & it's no big deal. Just a bad year.
You are welcome Dispatch.
and to think i had the r5 but not the e4
i do that silly stuff all the time!
I do that too often, Dispatch.
Hey, we've all had those...but somehow, somewhere, something good can happen...LEMME KNOW! (may a small gift for a child?)
i'm depending on you now, queen. how about a clue for my missing s? i have the looker and the big truck
Oh sure, SK. My husband & I consider our love a gift to one another & life is really good. As long as we are together. That's enough.
Well, Dispatch, it se**s to me that you may be missing the se4/5.
queen you are truly an inspiration with your attitude. you both are fortunate to have each other
here i go again with a simple word that I just can't see. ugh!
OK, than I will say a prayer that my husband and I have the gifts that you 2 do!
We think so. I always say God saw two pathetic souls & put us together. We've been married 27 years.
clues for the f's in the 3rd row??
Love is the greatest gift after all
makes me somewhat embarrassed to ask for my last word...an m. but i really do have to get the housecleaning finished!!! it's a 4. i have me4/9 and mi4/5
Babs, the 5 letter is your butt. The other is the beginning of the second one, but with a vowel on the end. 4/7
well, the f5 is your bum, and the f4 is fa + opposite of yes
Thanks, queen, but looking for those in the 3rd row...
OMG! We've been married only one year (after many failed attempts - cumulative) and we're so thankful we've finally found each other...that is THE GIFT!!
There is a mi4/11 which is like you are angry wiht someone. And a my 4/7 that is a talking bird.
this grid is a little stinker....
oh sorry babs, i clued the 3rd column!
Me too, Dispatch. Were either of those m's what you needed?
i need the mi4/7
hello
but not sure what the bird is
skheiny -- where in russia are you??? I have a friend from Siberia sitting beside me who is getting more words out of this puzzle than I am ... cheers, Jeanne
this grid is one of the stinkiest ever! but I finished (for the first time!!) with the help of the many wonderful babblers
morning..any help for the ai5 and ai6
There isn't an mi4/7. And my 4/7 or an mi4/11 or 4/5.
babs: 3rd ROW f's: fe + just ** it!
hi jane!
sorry, i meant the my
I'm in Siberia...town of Krasnoyarsk...southern Siberia...near Mongolia
PBR, think ready, ai*, fire & extend them.
monkeyed the my
thank you so much queen!
still FRICKING COLD!!! southern or not!! LOL
Queen------thank 7 more to go.
Dispatch, okay. It's a talking bird. But also ends in Sha ** **.
Oh!!! My friend greets you by way of Novokuznetsk!!!! What in the world are you doing in Krasnoyarsk??? How cold is it for you (Alex hopes you have warm underwear!!!!) Jeanne
Good, Dispatch.
I just saw yer FRICKIN COLD!!!! I bet! J.
and babs, the other fe4 is like an accomplishment. it was a tremendous fe**!
Babs, the other f in the 3rd row is a celebration. FE4/7
Thanks, Queen...got 'em!
I thank you all for your wonderful clues! I must go now and get my housework done!! Enjoy your day everyone!
my husband is an electrical engineer...oil/gas industry...he goes to crazy new start up places...and this is one...He's been to 80 countries! Since we've been married (for 1 year) I've been to 5!!!
Congrats, Dispatch!
Crazy life, but I love my man, so I follow...even to where hell freezes over LOL!
this grid has a lot of high scoring words, for such a dinky puzzle!
SK, it's neat that you get to travel with him. For the first 15 years of our marriage, my husband was in the Navy. I couldn't go with him. Wouldn't fit in the seabag. :(
Wow! what a way to see the world!!! I did 20 in the Air Force (it's how I learned a little Russian), but I never traveled like you!!!! I bet you've got a good sense of adventure (after you recover from the jet lag, of course)...and yes, when the love is there you'll go anywhere!!!!! Schastlivo!
I have 4 co 4's..wondering what I might be still missing for the 5th c?
LOL Q - I barely fit in the plane seat from Moscow to Kras...folks are shorter than me here on average (but I'm 6' so thats not saying much)
wow, i live in montana and every now and then i go to idaho or wyoming. i don't even have a current passport any more!
one more re5/12 hlp..pl and ty
nevermind, I just found it...
Babs, You could be missing the 4/8 c + ***en. (Frequently)
Love is everything isn't Jeanne! My sense of lust for new food and architecture gives me the drive...USSR has amazing buildings, but sadly I see many landmarks being torn down for "western progress"
hmm.. i have 1 co 4/8--are there 2?
Or maybe co4/11. C + the opposite of on. Nope, just one 4/8
hello all! babs, maybe the co 6/24?
I've 2 co 4/6, 1 4/11, and 1 4/8...
LOL Harp...that was me too, TX to OK/LA/AR...this country has sooo many beautiful features...see/appreciate what you can...I never imagined I'd see so much...it's all beautiful...this world is glorious!!!!!
thanks, Niamh...looking now..
Yes, I think it's the co6. That is the first co4/6 plus two vowels on the end.
what does the 7 start with please
7 starts with Ti, Pabtrek.
Thanks, Queen...got it!
Hi all - just got fireworks - too short a grid today!!!!
Congrats, Sandieangel!
I agree sandie, 9 left and I just started
Pabtrek - think of breakfast at ti*****s
Thanks for the 7, Queen....how about the e word in the first column?
Now what am I going to do with the rest of my evening! I may need to do something useful! gasp.
thanks queen and Sandie
Babs, it's weird. ED + ** you know the way to San Jose.
ugh, forget that horrible thing was my icon, must change
I had a 5 day weekend, I was hoping for a lazy babble day at work... still hoping for the lazy part!
thanks, again! Queen...
Now, now, Sandie. Don't get rash. There's always something to do other than useful things!
You're welcome, Babs. Sorry Pabtrek, I thought you just wanted the starting letters, not a clue. Dense.
May need to slouch in front of the TV then Queen!!!!
that's okay, any kind of help is appreciated
how about the e on the bottom row right corner?
It's an alternate spelling of weird, creepy.
One has to bring a lot of "internal" energy to really enjoy the good things in life...I've never been bored anywhere, anytime in my life...but it takes work sometimes to learn about a place. Interestingly, my friend Alex was an electrical engineer there...the codes are quite a bit different!!! Do you have employment there??? Sorry for all the questions, but curiosity has yet to kill this cat. Do you speak Russian??? J.
Thanks...duh! don't usually attempt to finish...but since this one is so short, thought I'd give it a go, but as you can see, not so self-sufficient in finding them all!
No problem, Babs. We all need help sometimes.
ky
usually I can get 30% and then I start getting stuck so go on to other things in my life! 7 left today just now...looking for one more g--got the 2 involving presents. and 3 more h's have ha 4/5, he 4/5, hi4/5 and hy 4/8..
Oh, and Alex wants to know if you have swum in the Enisej River yet...break the ice!!!! J.
sorry don't know why that happened
Babs, the other g is gi4/7. GI + special **ucation.
Babs i have another ha4/5 and he4/5 and an hi4/6
thanks, pab, just got the he 4/5... will look for the others
yw Babs
There is an HA 4/6 which ends with Auntie **. The HA4/5s start the same. One ends with "I ** something that didn't agree with me."
The hi 4/5 is the plural of to hurry. ANd the hy is a song sung in church.
thanks for that ha4/6 queen
You're welcome, Pabtrek.
myhusband John says that they seem to be in the 1970's as far as "codes"...35+ people have died on the sight due to inexperience...I am hoping to be emplyed jeanne...Joh plans to switch to the Kradnador office (better pay/living conditions/internet...etc) I'm a tech writer by trade...but I don't know the language yet (but I'm picking it up faster than J - LOL - he's too tech)...hopefully I can find a position int there contracts div..."go-between" from the translators to "official" contract language...make sense?
Babs, sorry I reread & I gave you the hy when you had it. Ooops.
thanks, queen..got all the h's!
Great!
Sorry Jeanne - did l Iose ya? A "little" long winded LOL
I have a do 4/11 and looking for other d for the 2nd row..
gotcha...just composiing and Alex is reading...
I thought I had lost you as well...LOL
oh..i guess the d for the 2nd row I have is de 4/8
HAHA I can be long winded...especially when drinking this fab vodka!!!!!
sorry and thanks for sticking around
There are two off the second row d. They both are de4/8. ONe means handy, good at something. The other ends in a double consonant. Same as the do4/11
~!~Fireworks~!~
Dang, I need a new brain. The second de4/8 is actually like the word meaning to disobey, but replace the y with a vowel.
that doesn't work Queen
Congrats Niamh!!!
congrats Niamh
YEAH Niamh!!!! WTG
Sounds like a great skill to have. Krasnodar should be a big improvement!!! Much better climate, close to Black Sea...fresh fruit...Don River...read Sholokhov's "And Quiet Flows the Don" (Tikhii Don) for a great history. I just finished it. Anyways, I really envy you! I'm glad you're progressing on the language. What a skill set you have!!!! I write too much, and sorry for pushing good clues down the screen sooooo fast!!!! Cheers, J. (p.s. alex wants to know how you like the Russian cuisine!)
yay niamh--4 behind you..
Right, Pab. My brain just shut off.
that's okay, Queen, i tried to put it in 3 times before i realized it wasn't working :)
thanks, queen! makes more sense!!
go Babs Go!!
Babs, did any of that blather help you with de's?
clue for the "i" please
USSR food needs spice!!! I'm from TX...we're "spicy people" :-)
Well, How about this? I don't think I'll eat that leftover turkey. It smells if** to me!
got the de's need one g--not the presents, and one y (have 4/7) and one r..have 4/4, 5/12, and 4/6..
All - and why isn't semite listed in the dictionary!!! It's in the puzzle bigger'n Dallas, it is an adjective albeit a "proper" one...sometimes I wonder... Hahahaha I understand about the spice!!!! Alex suggests you don't call it USSR anymore even though the whole area may still suggest it still exists!!!! LOL, J.
Gi + special **ucation.
haven't had any turkey this year--actually one bite--converting to mostly raw and vegetarian...did enjoy some gravy though!
gi6/36, when you get the gi4/9, you've been gi****
thanks queen
thanks lmj and queen! got the g!
ryes
The other y, rhymes with a rude person. Like "That guy is a real J***"
oh shoot, wrong box. that's why i don' chat :)
cool, thanks queen!
lol, lmj! fun when that happens!
I think the other r you need is another 4/4
There are two re4/4. One is re + I am, you are, she **. The other one ends the same but has double vowels in the middle.
been working to help my teenage daughter start doing her artwork as an income source...have a website for her..would be interested in feedback to expand to offer reservations for henna parties and commissioned art work...her site is www.izzylawlor.com any comments welcome from babblers!
Fireworks--congrats go to queen for helping me!!!!!!
Fireworks for Babs! Woo Hoo!!
YaY Babs!
get her a deviantArt account, and get her to talk to someone called Arcanoide - queen of henna!
congrats Babs
just want to thank everyone for the great clues...
Wow, Babs, I love the seahorse!
Wow, Babs, I love the seahorse!
You're welcome, Jeanne.
coef
boo boo just now...oops
i have the ko4/8 what is the other k start with please
I guess I'm out of excuses to avoid the laundry. Will say goodbye to one & all unless someone needs another clue.
Pab, it starts with KA & is an anagram of the other.
the other k is same as first, vowels mixed up
that queen and lmj
*thanks that is
Thanks, Atalante...she does have a deviant site, but more work on this other site..thanks for the lead on Arcanoide!
what;s her name on dA?
have fun!! with the laundry!! off to call the plumber and order henna supplies!
I can promote her a bit on my journal there
deviant art is selene-fey.deviantart.com
Babs, the rest of the page just came in. My computer is slow. She is a very talented young lady.
Thanks, Atalante!! We've started looking at art schools and lib arts with art focus...got good feedback on portfolio and they want to see more drawings from observation..
Thanks, Queen...she is really talented (can't take any credit here as she's not my genes...we adopted her from Cali, Colombia at 10 weeks..now about to turn 17.)
this is arc's site: http://arcanoide.deviantart.com/ read, watch and hang on to her every word concerning henna
thanks Atalante--will give to Izzy!
yes, life drawings. get her out there and *draw*. art schools all like drawing from observation
and put some henna pics up on her dA account - henna's a big thing around there at the moment
(and I'm elegaer on dA if she wonders who this elegaer person is who just friended her!)
Thanks, Atalante...she's been doing henna for about 4 years--will do at her school fair this Saturday all day! Will get some henna pics on deviant site..
wonderful! its something I'd love to do at some point
OK, signing out...I humble myself to those that clue better than I :-) I
cheers, skheiny!!! good to meet you1!! j.
Atalante...just went to your deviant site--your work is so fabulous...i forget now what mediums you use mostly and where you studied??
hies
Like wise! Jeanne! hope to visit again soon!
goofed again..
by the way, how's your dog doing today??
I didnt study art, I just taught myself :) and I usually use watercolour and pencil. I'm trying to learn digital painting and failing miserably LOL
get some sleep...it's rather late for you!!! (or early)....till next time, poka!!!
awww my poor babe, she has an infection in the skin of her ear :(
antibiotics, collar stays on for a while!
wow! Izzy is mostly self-taught as well. How do you find work? Any schools in England and Europe you'd recommend for college? one of her friends interested in tech. theater is looking for schools your way!
:-) thanks jeanne
bummer--those collars are so miserable, but worth it!
Hello Atalante - what's the infection?
there are some really good theatre schools over here, especially RADA depending on what part of theatre one wants to study. Art schools, again there are great ones, but nothing I'd say thats any better than any over there
Hello, all. Does anyone know the total points for today, please?
don't know, Haz. Vet has given us 10 days of antibios, infection probably came from a cut while out in the woods or something, who knows!
563
Thanks, pabtrek.
Blame the critters, then.
yw
help i have one word left it is hi 4/5 i know its right in front of me and obvious but i can't find it help!!!!
definitely blaming them. but hopefully antibios will stop it itching and de-puff it, then we can take the lampshade off!
haz, hi! Vi, hi! JMH, hi! *grin*
there's "clue" at 12:25
that was a clue
lol, Ata! Those were lovely hi4 you just gave us!
Yes, hopefully you'll see progress in a couple of days. Farmers are notorious for injecting animals, waiting 3 or 4 hours, then ringing up to see if they can give any more effective antiobiotic.... it takes time!
LOL! poor vets. I'll give her till Thursday then try taking the collar off
thanks sooooo much all of you, this is my first fireworks can't believe i actually completed onex
Farmers and mothers! Around here the pediatricians have a terrible time with mothers who want their children to get antibiotics for everything.
yay JMH!
Yay for JMHBEAN!
congrats JMHBEAN
Poor Hobbit. Was the vet sympathetic?
I know, antibiotics are great, but you don't need them for everything.
very. she looooves the vet she saw today. absolutely adores him. she even let him do her anal glands without a whimper
Congratulations on fireworks, JMH.
Boy, I don't love anyone that much! lol
Ah yes, the anal glands, the glamour end of vet medicine.
lol yes. such a lovely smell
we have vets from nice places here. the *best* vet is from Northern Ireland (I had to say that of course), but most of the others are from France / Belgium and they seem to have a lot more time for the animals than a lot of English vets do
It's hard to beat a vet from Northern Ireland.
It isn't nice to beat vets at all!
True, and you probably shouldn't try beating them because they have superior weapons at their disposal.
he's called Cormac, has ginger hair adn drinks Guinness. Not a stereotype at all
Yes, I only pick on people less talented than myself.
No, absolutely not.
So vets are right out.
I think so, Vicuna. I've always known my place.
"Cormac" must be in disguise. That's too good to be true.
lol I know, Vi! Its just perfect!
Just as long as he doesn't say 'To be sure, to be sure, to be sure.' NOBODY says that.
are there only 55 words today? is that right?
not that I've heard. Yet.
Just 55.
help with the hi4/6...my last one and i am seeing double
hi4/6 - past tense of the calling attention word.
so...atalante...how do you get commissions for your art--is that mostly what you do? exploring where Izzy's art might go, etc...wanting to give her different ideas about how people bring their art into the world..
thanks haz! i cannot look at this crazy grid any longer and thanks to you, i do not have to anymore! good day
Bye Jill - congratulations! (darkened room is good)
Babs, I'll email you with so interesting links I know of about that. Don't want to write huge long scrawl in here!
Yay for JillF!
k...thanks!
hello everyone. help with the I word, please?
not sure is the I word
well, if I wasn't sure, I'd say things were a bit if***.
oops..if**.
Back later - time for tea!
thanks Babs
this puzzle sux
bye haz!
Goodbye, Haz!
Vicuna..just enjoyed looking at your artwork...good luck at your show this week!
clues for the K words?
Vi rocks
anyone?
Oh, thanks very much, Babs1. (Sorry slow response.)
ko4 rhymes with what you take out at the bank to buy a car.
And thanks for the vote of confidence from Ata, too. As you ca tell, Babs, Ata is very supportive! =)
don
yay Vi! yay Vi! *cheers*
don't have the other k
both ko4's use the same letters.
Yay, Ata! Yay, Ata!
thanks vicuna
except they aren't both ko's
tyvm
can someone tell me whether there is a c6 or a d6, or neither?
Oh, oops. hurshy is right again!
There is a c6.
And it was my last word. I thought ti was an odd one.
oh, clue then?
co6/24 - starts with cypher, ends with even more vowels.
alrighty
done. ty.
Yay for hurshy!
does anybody know ae 5/12? i'm guessing the 6 builds on it...
sorry, i mean ai 5/12!
ai5/12 - one who tries to sight a mark
like archery?
yup. one who points at a target.
ah, TY!
yw
down to the last word for me....the "hy4/8" word. any good clues??? I have monkeyed in every direction...tks, jeanne
jeanne hy is something you sing at church
oh, egads...it's sooooo apparent now!!!! many tks...jeanne
ti 7/60?
ti7 - maker of stained glass lampshades
finally got my fireworks...now I gotta get the sparks out of my eyes!!!! Thanks to all!!!! Jeanne
LOL! thanks!
Yay Jeanne!
Okay. I might be good for some clues if anyone needs...Jeanne
didn't get the last clue for co 6,24 please
Starts out like a fish, and ends with three vowels
ahhhhh, thanks. I got it now!
cheers, anytime! J.
Good afternoon!
Is anyone here? Noses in the grid?
you're in the grid!
I think many have already finished...I know I just pop in occasionally to clue
Yes, I am. It happens once in a blue moon. Isn't it exciting hehehe
clue for the ti 7 please
breakfast at ....
ty
One word left and I cannot find it ... ye 4,7 ... help please
Rhymes with your name :)
rats thats the 4/10
I have that one and I just found the other one ... ye**
Yay congrats then :)
hey fm :) what can we blame you about today?
Fireworks!
Atalante ... thanks for the clues!
Hi Ata, Can't blame me on Mondays (did'nt you get the adendum to my contract)? Although you could blame me for the fact you can't blame me ... my brain hurts.
was the contract actually signed? huh?
Did I see in the log that the lampshaded one is still bedecked?
yes *sigh* she has an infection in the skin of her ear
oh poor woofah.
lampshade on for at least 3 more days
antibios for 10 days
Aww must be a nasty infaction then.
and she has a shaved ear!
http://www.flickr.com/photos/elegaer/2 065442707/ (dont worry, its not icky)
Doggy ear muffs? and thanks for the warning will go peak.
*peek even
Oh that doesn't look too bad at all. Love the balancing cat btw
no, it doesn't look too bad. just shaved!
silly cat she loves doing that
her ear is actually quite hot and puffy in places, poor babe. but the antibios should work quickly
Confession time ...
what did you do?
spent money when shouldn't have - bought wonderful pair of lavender suede ankley boots. Just so rare to see anything so beautiful in my size.
how lovely! lavender? wow!
I want some new booots too
aubergine/lavender bliss and shock horror got them at Brantano - always worth a look see.
how gorgeous! We dont have a Brantano near :(
They are spread around rather thinly
wonder where the nearest one is ... *looks*
Looked at the scrabulous game this afternoon I am soooooooooooooo far from being in your league I off the map and in a very dark corner. *looks at Ata with scrabble awe*
answer: bloody miles away
What size are you?
dont even try and play with sprite then! she's scary!
6 1/2 -> 7
hey ladies...scrabulous is acting weird right now, Ata
Lucky you, loads of choice us 9ers get I/2 a full display if we are lucky.
Hi Krista
I used to be 8, I know your pain, fm!
Your boots sound lovely! I'm a 9, too...thought your sizes were different there, though?
so you understand the lavender joy then LOL
oh my..need to change my icon lest someone think I LIKE earwigs
well I was wondering Krista .... :)
yeah, your 9 would be about our 7 ish I *think*
oh, so you are saying your feet are SMALL then
I have dainty feet. Well, daintyish.
i bought a pair of red suede boots one year that were at least 2 sizes too small, but I HAD to have them. They were worth the pain. :)
hi all
glad to see you Haz and Fm and Ata :)
Hello Liz!
well I just know that my friend takes size 5 US and size 3-4 UK. so thats all I'm going off!
oh oh look at poor hobbit
LOL Krista Haz you are just dainty full stop :) Hi Liz
yes *sigh* she has an infection in the skin of her ear
poor baby give her a cuddle from me
she's havign millions of cuddles :D even the vets were all cuddling her!
I'm having a rotten day I'm so glad you're all here to talk to :)
ok, new icon here, but it is probably scary to some...do they call those Elizabethan collars there, too? Hi Liz
Oh whats up Liz?
Krista, nothing small about my size 9s I can assure you :)
Nothing much really FM - my little girl is really sick and I'm on my own coz husband is away on work.
Yes, Elizabethan collar the correct term. Lampshade just sounds more fun.
LOL Haz we called it a lampshade when Oscar had one
at our vet they call them Buster collars
What's wrong with the baby?
oh, ok...I was thinking backwards about the shoes...I get it now
being sick literally. cant even keep water down. Its her birthday next week :(
Spangle was spayed - needed no collar. Had a cyst removed and four stitches - no collar. Just a stern talking to.
Oh there, there Lizyloo hope little one feels better soon.
at U of I vet med, we call them Buster Collars or E-Collars
oh my, Liz..hope she doesn't get dehydrated
thank you Fiona
Haz where did she have the cyst?
me too Krista she is only 1 so it affects her worse than if she was older
It was an infected cyst on her back.
She completely ignored the stitches, she was very good.
Oscar had some massive cysts removed from the top of his head 2 years ago - horrible
this is the first time Hobbit's had one ... she's done the spaying and paw stitches collarless, but this she just *scratches*
he ate two lampshades
aw it must really itch
sick kids (and pets) are the worst...we've been sharing strep and colds here for a few months, but as long as it's not stomach viruses, I'm grateful!
lol Oscar!
I know what you mean Krista!
I know Ata! Typical huh?
I thought sick husbands/BFs were the worst as they can cerbalise the fact that they are dying fro a sneeze or a cut finger and make it last for so long!!
hey everyone
just on for a few
My kitten, Milo, has been really sick all weekend. The typical upper resp. stuff cats get, but worse than i've ever seen. Open mouth breathing, sneezing, not eating or grooming. Took him to vet Sunday. He's better today.
cerbalising sounds painful
housework is calling
*verbalise
Hi praise
If you herbalised, you'd probably get better as well.
So true, FM! But they don't give me the sympathy pangs like the kids and animals ;)
Deb I hope its not cat flu
hang up on it, Praise :)
mmm yes Krista you're right.
probably just the cat herpes virus
LOL Krista
Ata have a look at my flickr pics
I would like too
but the laundry is coming after me:)
Liz, has the baby been sick for long?
praise has rampaiging laundry? Someone send help her way!
LOL
yeah and supper to fix
HAz she started being ill on Saturday but she seemed better Sunday and this morning. It started again tonight
It could just be Annie getting some of her disguise clothes sorted out.
dh gets a little cranky if he doesn't get supper
LOL
is that lampshade 1, 2 or 3, Liz??
that was number 1 - I just added a piccy of him with his leg in plaster too
Poor wee soul - hopefully she'll be better soon, it's not nice for anybody.
hi yeeeeeeeee
laundry is my nemesis, praise - I hear ya..if you don't keep up with it, it can swallow you up!
No Haz. I hope she sleeps now she's in bed - it will do her good
Hi Nutty
oh no! thats so sad looking Liz! LOL pooor boy
just haven't figured out how we make so much of it
when it is just husband and myself
Hello Dr Nut - an unexpected pleasure!
Hey nutster!
I know. HE was on sedatives and a DAP diffuser and all sorts. It was a mjor op - but so worth it when you see him now
I bet your vet loves you.
Flylady (www.flylady.net) calls the ever-present laundry pile Mount Washmore..I love that
Hi Nut! Long time, no see

Hey herin!
HEy you wanna hear something exciting (well it is for me anyhow!)
I have a 3 kilo cat that things she is a parrot
What liz
Tell us Liz
I am now the proud owner (at long long last) of my own book shop
Wow you did it!!!
well I will be when I get it open lol
Excellent.
Well done, Liz!
I have taken out a lease on a shop that is being renovated. Should be opening in March
Oh wow, Liz! That is very exciting!
I know!!! :)
Do you need a celebrity to open it. Toyah?
I cant wait! And coz its mine Oscar can come with me to work (and probably eat all the books lol)
HAZ!!!! I just spat coffee everywhere when I read that
I'm sure she'd be thrilled. Don't you?
OH LIZ well done. Have your first cuppa in there for me will you please
LOL
I'd have to ask her PA! LOL
I must be responsible for more coffee spillages than enough.
I will Herin! :)
She is turning the Christmas light on round my way, I could have a word if you like?
I have had to wipe my screen! LOL
how WONDERFUL Liz! you lucky lucky thing!
And if she's busy, FMitch has a new dress and boots.
she never is! For goodness sake dont mention her in a blog will you!
lol Haz
Although, do they go?
I know Ata - are you jealous!
New babble requirements, waterproof keyboards, and splatter/clean ezey screens
You should all come here on holiday and come in for coffee
UTTERLY jealous!
lol FM
No they don Haz and I think a spring/summer babble vacation to Sark would be great.
You see, this is why I love Babble - you have all cheered me up no end and I've cleaned my computer too :)
I have to go. I have a cat that is on my shoulders and needs many scratches due to the cone on her head
Some are green, Liz has a clean screen.
aw Herin - I'll send you a pressie on Facebook
Liz I'll be your first customer .. Need a copy of Euripides Media ....?
Funnily enough I have one of those....
Medea its spelt on mine though LOL
ok liz i did recieve one thanks
Are you enjoying it FM?
is it the Phillip Vellacott transation. I so can't do smug like Ata can.
I also can't type *translation
i;ve seen Medea on stage in Greek *smug*
Are there lessons in smug, or is Atalante self-taught, like her art.
LOL
Yes it is the Vellacott one
Well, I actually wrote Medea, it wasn't whathisface at all. Beat that for smug.
anyone who knows acient greek is inherently smug, its part of the teaching
Is that last sentence grammatical? (Mine?)
You wrote MEdea? I had no idea you were THAT old Haz LOL
Sort of like people who master ancient Eastern martial arts have a smug look?
Liz have you scruibbled lots of useful answers and comments in it? ROFL, Haz you left yourself wide open for that one.
Okay, maybe I didn't write it, but I probably could have done.
its really haz1558BC
Not a mark on it FM... you should see the course book though LOL
(I think if I keep bluffing, they'll not realise I don't know one end of Medea from Medusa)
incest and child jkillings are your specialties, are they?
*giggles*
Darn I would have paid twice for the extra notes ;)
Only coz you know I passed the course lol
Oh THAT Medea? I'm sorry, I thought you said something ENTIRELY different. (this is known as back-pedalling to a remarkable degree)
ROFL
tee hee
I love the chorus wailings
Just flicked through my copy - I had forgotten just how gruesome it is
it certainly is!
I'll agree. Nodding head vigorously.
Which isn't something herinfernal should be doing, otherwise she'll make the cat seasick.
WE could tell you anything and you'd believe wouldnt you Haz :)
quick quick read this haz: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medea_(pl ay)
Gullible is my middle name.
why do I keep typing in CAPS???? I must have the jitters tonight
gots five words so far....
No one warned me how depressing this course would be. look at monuments - war memorials. Poetry, war poetry, we have the Medea and the French Revolution to lookforward to ... sigh
Medea's not *depressing*. Its just - gory
Slow down, Dr Nut, you'll break sprite's record if you're not careful.
hello all. Short one tonight.
The war memorials bit got me down I remember but I loved the architecture stuff
sprite, she still needs to hook up with me for a show
I may be short, frogface but I have dainty feet.
She's away at a spa at the moment, Dr Nut.
she's away for a few days
good things come in small packages haz.
Or is it an island? Lots of water about anyway.
I think so, frogface.
ah I was wondering where she was
ack this coming weekend I think, certainly away for 5 days.
Now you're just jealous of FM's feet arent you HAz?
I doublt it somehow Liz!
*Finds a spot of coffee I missed with the screen wipes earlier*
If you can get away with cheap childrens trainers then i'm jealous haz.
I'm jealous of the boots.
LOL FM
Well, my feet aren't THAT dainty.
oh my I am starting to feel ill myself now. If I rush off and dont say goodbye you'll know why
hello, does anyone need clues?
Uh oh, looks like the illness is catching. Masks everyone.
Uh oh!! I had that on Friday Liz was right as rain by Sunday.
This is why I got married - so he can always be away when he's needed here *humpf*
not ready yet harpjane but thanks, only just half way yet. Gas mask in place haz.
Hi harp and no thanks, all words safely rounded up.
*turning away from the computer to breathe*
k bye
Hello harpjane.
Oscar's dreaming - he's woofing to himself lol
awwwww I love it when they do that
my ben usually runs in his sleep, so funny to see his little legs going mad.
he's very funny
what sort of dog is ben?
I am hoping Ben is your dog not your husband?
Ben's your dog I take it? It would be a sore affliction to share a bed with a man that did that.
mongrel really but bit of a yorkshire terrier.
LOL Haz
lol haz.
Spooooooooooky.
oh thank goodness for that!
you could always stand a kicking man up and point him in the direction of the door.
why isn't naff in the dictionary.
cos enable is naff
Oscar just woke himself up - I have to go let him out - back in a mo
phantom: apotropaic
awwww
Hello Babble Rabble.
Back
Think I might go to bed - get some sleep while Megan is asleep (touch wood)
Hello BabbleR
Hello, Haz
Hello, peoples

You're welcome, Liz - sorry about the coffee spillage.
Thanks Haz *waves and poof*
Nighty night Liz
And I should head off as well - I want to see the programme about the Queen. President Bush is in it, just to give it some class.
not to be missed then haz.
and that must be my cue too. Bye HAz and bye all
Good night all!
what? I come in and everyone leaves?
night dear!
night then, (not feeling at all personally responsible for the mass exodus....much.)
Is it my breath then, or your phandmd...
I brushed my teeth this a.m.
some of my most entertaining conversations have occurred when no one else was around
can beat that phandmd, went to the dentist this morning.
then i guess it is mine
I'm sorry babble, were you talking to us,..... or yourself again.
yes
i killed chatlog, and the game.
murder on the internet.
morning everyone :)
morning mr president.
nobody loves me, everybody hates me, think i'll go and eat worms, long thin curly ones short fat juicy ones, look how they wriggle and squirm.
That sounds not so appealing
now don't go and do that
worms are rather gritty
desperation has hit
so it seems!
I suppose if there's no alternative
either that or the madness is back.
While you are chatting about worms, can someone help me with clues for mi5,28??
haven't got it sorry, now back to the worms...
haha, thanks anyways lol :P
i haven't gotten to it yet
do you have the mi4/11?
it builds on that
No, sorry. Working on it.
mi and two identical constinants, peed off. angry.
look at the points. for a 4 letter word to be worth that much, it has to have a bunch of high value letters in it.
Ok. I just started about ten minutes ago, so I only have 17 words yet! I'm working....
clue for co 6/24?
it builds on the secret 4/6
does anyone on here know anything about stewing turkey?
co6 is fish and three vowels.
stewing turkey? i'd treat it just like stewing chicken myself, though I've never stewed one, sorry!
can't say i've ever stewed a turkey vedaman, sorry.
thanks
I'd treat it just like stewing chicken too, but I don't know how to do that either
With yurkey though, you pehaps would need to use more stock to keep it more moist
**turkey, perhaps
fireworks, woo hoo.
fireworks! :)
Congratulieren!
haha
nice timing
snap vedaman.
congratulations.vedaman.
to you as well. my fingers are crossed for a 300+ puzzle tomorrow.
not great at it but willing to try my best if anyone needs clues.
I will take you up on that, frogf. Anything for ed4,6 by chances?
ed and action word.
thanks!
showing my newbie ignorance, but what do the numbers behind the first two letters indicate.. assume it is where on the board you are???
re5/12?
ed+ ***, re mi
sorry two **
the first letter is the number of letters and the second is the score of the word, adding the letters for each word.
re and short fingerless glove.
and you know how long the word is how??
hi all
thanks
re5,12 is 5 letters long.
but how would one know that?? thanks

congrats nbjasmine
there is a bit of a lag in sending chats here
it appears that most people are shopping today, not playing babble :P
you
you
oops! you're right, mom. there is
yes, Tyger, after all on all the news today was how it is Cyber Monday
the biggest online shopping day of the year
I've heard it all day long. you have, too?
each time I have been on, it has lagged
I admit I spent a bit. One of my music sites had a 30% off sale today
great, love those sales.
I did mine last night
probably the lag is because there are lots more people online today than usual
or, at least, they're not just looking
I think so too
I've already done most of my shopping. the music today was pure indulgence
I love pure indulgence
:)
I meant to do xmas shopping in Nov but haven't thought about it yet
I have a bit more to do, the neice and nephews and my brother and sister
can't do it very often, but once in a while (with my budget, needs to be a GREAT while) isn't so bad
with 2 in college our indulgences are few and far between :)
it is still Nov., Kate, you can do it
yup. got almost a week left :)
maybe if I wasn't swamped with work
shop at US shops and take advantage of the strong Loonie :)
where are you working Kate?
I was reading the laments of a Canadian bookseller
freelancing from home :)
great.
then you have the most demanding of bosses - your own conscience
of course, not everybody's conscience is that demanding, but it sounds like yours is :)
yes tyger, but I also get to give myself breaks when I've had enough lol
but I'll bet those breaks are not too long!

AAMOF? It is commonish for me, too, tyger
I will try to remember, too, mom
As A Matter Of Fact
okay, thanks.
ahhhh, thanks, tyger
it's somewhat better since I got a new bed in January. I've now got one of those "* Pedia" foam mattresses on an adjustable bed base. it helps
(((mom))) you're always trying to take care of us, aren't you :)
I bought one of the neck pillows--it is fab! Glad your mattress is helping...
I am a mother hen in the worst way :)
actually, I think that the adjustable base helps more, pam, but the foam mattress isn't bad
LOL, mom. I don't mind a bit
that makes sense, tyger
I'm glad, Tyger.
tyget hope you get to feeling better

will probably have to have the other done too eventually
I've had a hip & knee replaced, but I have OA, and had a "patent malformation" (congenital) of the hip
ok, well I'm gonna "shop" online for a bit - trying to knock out these Channukah gifts! I'll come back to clue later
wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy
probably will have to have the other knee done, too, but not until I have no choice
oh yeah I have OA too
okay, green. see you later
such fun!!
LOL
good luck, ASG
that's right, you have an earlier deadline than we do
when is Channukah this year?
right now not doing too badly
taking IV meds
i gots 7 words now
(2 Jewish friends)
sneaks up on me every year! Dec. 4th (my 40th bday) is the first night
hey, nutty. MrP was looking for you!
wow. early this year. I'd better get on the stick!
early happy birthday
i was looking for her...
happy early birthday!
whee - fireworks for me without lickety - that's a first in a while :-)
I think she'll come back later, nutty
yay, dan!
thanks!
anyone have clues for the hy 4,4 or the ha 4,6 or ha 4,5?
hope so, i be missing her
yay, dan
or you could email her??
hy4: a kind of religious song
btw, aussies, congrats on your election and hopefully escape from being one of bush's lap dogs
hy4 - church song
all 3 ha's have a diphthong in the middle
same one
thanks dan i dont know how i missed that one
we clued that one *almost* identically, dan :)
I don't think the new OZ PM will do many of the same things that the old one did, nutty
do you need more on the ha words, bren?
or will what I've given suffice?
precisely brendiboo
i need one more ha word
i mean tyger
the ha 4,6
did you see the clues I gave below, bren?
LOL, nutty
still cant get the last ha
it *sounds* just like the hy word, bren
or sometimes pronounced like another word for house
woo hoo thanks tyger
yw :)
is that it?
have you got "firewords" now, bren???
i have 6 to go
Hi all. Need two words to finish. Help with clues?
sure, jellen
whatcha need?
co 6/24?
add 2 vowels to the preceding co 4/6, jell
5 now to go
for a total of 3 in a row
Thanks, tyger
yw :)
next?
re 5/12?
i need ed 4,6
send in the money
Thanks, that's fireworks for me!
ed4/6: ed + when will you be **ne with it?
yay, jellen
and yw :)
thanks again tyger now down to 4 see if i can finish my first ever grid ha ha
yw what do you need now?
Hi everyone, what does the 7 start with pls?
hey, hugs
the 7 starts ti
do 4,11?
do + double consonant
thanks tyger
yw, huggy
amazing how when you concentrate on those 2 letters, it just jumps out at you
thanks tyger thought i had tried that one last nite
yup!
yw, bren
I have the co6, gi6 and ti6... what's the 4th pls?
it also helps that there are almost no double letters in this grid
ai
I had to look at Lickety's page. I don't put my words in on days when the word count is less than 100
I don't always finish the list, either :)
thanks again Tyger
yw
ok i have left to finish ai 5,12 ai 6,21 and ae 4,6
i never finishes tyger
when you're going to shoot, you first have to *** the weapon (clue for ai words)
sometimes i don't put in the words on purpose
like I'm doing today, nutty?
must be
the fun is in solving them, right? :)
lemme know how you're doing, bren
and Fireworks
hi peeps
i am in a rutt tyger cant get any of them lol
hey, krista
yay, hugs
congrats, hugabugs
Hi Krista
Hi, krista
thanks pam
ai clue: think about weapons. in order to shoot something, you have to *** the gun, bow & arrow, or whatever
I got 13 words earlier and had to quit..seems like it gets harder..am I right?
well, there is a LOT of Scottish vernacular in today's grid :)
I'm screwed then!
even now, when I look at the grid, I want to see "tithes" there :)
I'm giving clues, you know
but I'll hafta leave in a little while
but there are always people around willing to give clues
bren, do I need to give you a different clue?
i think i am going to try the ae 4,6 for a minute and go back to the others before i strangle someone ha ha
dang, just got here and don't see 10 words
okay. ae4: a different spelling for an eagle's nest
hey, rob
what's the problem?
i hardly ever go beyond what I can get myself..it starts to feel like work then (don't like work)
LOL, krista
i think this one's a little stinker, Rob
I can usually finish the grid on my own (with help of word lists)
I do what I can, and if I see clues on the chat, I like to resolve them.... I usually get 3/4 done--I don't use any lists...
but sometimes I have to get clues
if I had a good memory, I'd do much better..I've been on here for a long time now, and find myself monkeying for the same "Babblets" over and over
uh, yeah
I'm somewhat compulsive. I hate to NOT finish anything
I can understand that, tyger..I had to get over that myself
I have the same babblet issue, krista, LOL
I think I'm too old to try :)
LOL, tyger
:D
woo hoo only the two ai to go
I'll use Lickety's once in a while, Pam...frustrating, isn't it? You know we've seen those same words over and over!
Yup, krista, it can be frustrating!!!!
go, bren, go
think double-hump, bren
I'm thinking dinner. it's about time
If any of you are on facebook, I'm looking for more scrabble opponents (my new addiction)
I would think it is, tyger!
not on facebook, and don't play scrabble (or hardly ever)
what's on the menu, Tyger?
I usually eat at 7 & 7 (timed for pills)
haven't made up my mind. something frozen, probably, or maybe I'll finish the Turkey day sweet potatoes
Timing makes sense... food souds yummy
mmmm..candied?
lol, hi krista! i'm working on my games right now
i'll go do yours next so you have a game to do
hafta eat with pills. I useta get ulcers from pills
hey, feather!
Ok! I'm working on Ata's FOUR games now. :)
2 to go and i just cant see the clues
Hi, feather
It has been acting screwy again, btw.
well, sorta candied. my mom's recipe - sauteed slices in butter, then layered with more butter and brown sugar
yeah, no kidding
more butter than sugar
four games with one person?
sounds good to me, tyger
i've got 12 games going, and with the exception of our triple game with fran, all different people!
hi to you all this evening or where ever you are !!!!!
yes, it made several for us (you know how it does) and she started four of them, so hey, why not?
ai5: ai + ***maid (ocean denizen)
hey, lots
ok I'm giving up on this one
i'm doing 12, too
lol!
they are good. I don't like marshmallowed ones
Hi, lots
I don't sweet ones... Like them savory...
probably because I grew up eating them that way
i think i must be a hopeless case tyger has given me too difference clues for the ai words and i still cant get them
we don't use marshmallows, either...never had them savory - how do you cook them?
brb
me too, Rob..don't feel bad
I don't add sugar or anything sweet. Salt, pepper, and whatever I am in the mood for...
interesting...i used to eat watermelon that way when I was a kid..seems gross now
not saying what you do is gross, tho!
ai + *other (female parent) + hard - not *asy + don't leave the *oom
LOL, krista. I am not one for sweets--don't like maple syrup in my yams, etc.
bren, I sometimes need several clues. don't feel bad
the brown sugar (not light brown) has a tang to it. some people wouldn't care for it because it's not entirely sweet
I sometimes need more than several!!!!
i'm more of a salt fiend than sugar, too
woooooooo hooo done it thanks for spelling that one out tyger
I recall at least one time that it took 4 clues
*fireworks*** doing a little jig now lol
Yay, brend
not a salt fiend anymore. my blood pressure is salt-sensitive, and I've learned to live mostly without it
yvw, bren now make it plural
Yay for brend!!
yay, bren
missed bren's announcement of finish :P
I like salt over sugar, but don't use a lot of it. Used to use none, but the doc told me I needed to have SOME salt in my diet.
that is my first ever grid solved woo hoo
I worry about that happening to me, tyger. Right now I'm under dr's orders to eat more salt due to low blood pressure..I said if I eat anymore that I do, I'll explode or something
thank you all
krista, maybe if you tried potassium instead??
or maybe there's some other factor that's keeping your BP low?
it's funny how sensitive you become to it when you cut down, isn't it, Pam? It's a longterm side effect of chemo, tyger
Congrats, Brenda!!
oh, krista. sorry to hear that
I have low blood pressure, too. And, I wasn't getting enough salt or potassium. Not chemo-related, might be endocrine, though. Doc is great and told me I had to eat salt--which made me happy
Thanks. It's not a big problem if I drink enough and eat salt, though....Do you get fatigue with it Pam?
my doctor first told me to cut down on the salt 30+ years ago, when my BP was 108/78
Yes, krista. And lightheaded...
I still don't have to take BP meds, thanks to low salt
That's great, tyger!
today, it's 130/80
Exactly, Pam. Especially when standing up. I was actually happy when they diagnosed me with the problem, because then I knew why I felt like crap and what I could do about it!
unless I'm hurting pretty bad, or upset
That's wonderful, Tyger..always best do fix things with diet.
and I'm in my mid 60s
it's called postural hypotension, krista.
That really is great, tyger!!!!!!
OTOH, today doc said my son's BP is üncontrolled" :( and he takes several meds
of course, he's seriously overweight, and diabetic
That can be scary
yep, and they also referred to it as neurally mediated hypotension..not sure if there is a shade of difference there or if it's the same thing
yes, indeed. I worry about him
brb in about 10 minutes..bottomless pit son needs food!
he claims to eat less salt than before, but he still eats quite a bit, by my standards
Hmmmm, never heard of that, krista...
I don't totally avoid salt; I just use it sparingly
perhaps it is relative, tyger?
dunno, pam
I'm gonna hafta go. getting late for pills
I'll try to come back later
*poof*
Bye, tyger
Bye, tyger
any help with the f words please x
sorry, lots...
fa 5/20 = a kind of pack you can wear
thanks, slp--looked for that earlier, didn't see itin the grid and so didn't try it...
fa 4/7 = a wind-blowing device + vowel
thankyou got that one its the the second row of fs x
fe 4/8 = fe + weird (spelled wrong)
welcome, pam :)
fe + Coffee or **a?
thanks, jellen and slp
thankyou all great clues x
You're welcome. brb.
no problem!
the co6,24 is killing me
add two vowels to the previous
omg thank you babblerabble!! that was the only one I couldn't get! :P
congrats, yndy
thanks BR - just started playing yesterday - I'm already hooked, lol
yeah ... enjoy
see ya tomorrow :)
Congrats, yndy

Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
Hi Min
the last my pls
got it. fireworks
Congrats, cubfan.
woo hoo
ty phandmd
ty jacula
This one last -e- word is driving me bonkers!
Congratulations cubfan995 on fireworks! Good for U!
An ee4/6 is a word to describe a haunted house S L P
one has a double consonant
the last means to pay
ed4/6 - rhymes with word for grassy field.
got that one minver -- it's the ed i'm blanking on
The ed 4/6 is e + double consonant plus a vowel S L P.
ed4/6 = ed + 'to action'/
Yayyy!!
Thanks Jac & Minerv
y/w, S L P
Geez..that was brutal haha
yw
e +***t (what baseball player has on his hand)\\
ok female babblers, question time:
Are you done S L P? If so congratulations on finishing!
Hello EvaNadine! How are you? Welcome to the puzzle
Today's grid looks like one that has no words when you first see it. However, once your eyes settle, the words reveal themselves. It took me about 30 mins yesterday morning.
What, Eva?
the BF more or less ignored me all night tonight, and when i called him on it, he claims he wasnt. how long do i let him stew before i stop being ticked off?
thanks minver -- i finished earlier, but i was popping in to see who was around. :)
Eva - until he buys you flowers, chocolates and gorvels.
hon, that's just a guy thing...count it a blessing, i love being ignored
Seriously, until tomorrow at the very least!
Congratulations on your early finish EvaNadine! YAY!
I meant grovels! LOL
jacula -- in that case, the relationship might be over!
My hubby ignores me almost every night!I don't mind because I ignore him babbling. How did he ignore you?
Eva - In all honesty I can't advise because I don't know the history, the story or what type of person he is. You know him best. You must do what feels right for you.
I am outta here; pleasant dreams
well, hes not working right now, so hes here alone all day. so i figure when i get home, he might actually want to hang out with me. (we live together) but lately, hes been spending most of the evening in his "man cave" and i keep trying to draw him out, but since i dont have ideas for what to do, he pretty much stays in there...
'Night, phan. Our matching icons will now be parted. Parting is such sweet sorrow! LOL
indeed!
Goodbye phandmd! I will see you tomorrow in the log!
eva, walk out nekkid, that'll grab'im
Oh, I see, Eva. He may be a bit depressed if he's out of work and not feel quite the 'man' or 'the provider'. Maybe?
Nut - I was working up to that idea slowly!
read Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus..it may be trite info, but it's VERY true..I found it very helpful early in my marriage
changed my icon, anothr butterfly
hes actually feeling better about the job thing because hes got a second interview this wednesday! (and he sees me au naturalle every night. ;) )
Lots of us se4/5 to have chosen flutterbys today.:)
the man cave is necessary for them
Hello inge! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
im all for him having his man cave...i just like to actually feel like he WANTS to spend time with me sometimes...
Eva - if he sees you nekkid often then maybe it's time to cover up a bit... dress up, if you know what I mean.;-)
Hi Minver and all you Babblers. Cant stay, just wanted to post a butterfly for today
he's jobless, he feels a bit wounded by it i'm sure, i KNOW from experience, let him stew for a bit, that's what they need to do. once he wraps his brain around the problem properly, all will return to norma.
well, hes been jobless for 2 months now. thats not new, unfortunately, but my feeling ignored is...
The man cave is either the study or a garden shed here in UK. Since the study is my 'cave' and he hasn' yet built a shed to add to my 4 outsbuildings already in garden, the settee and the remote control & TV are P's man cave.
The Rules is also good...if it feels like too much game playing...I know, but it's just human nature
Nice icon inge! I chose a Monarch Butterfly as well. I guess we won't match anymore since you are leaving
I'm finished! My last word was ti 7/60 word.Easy grid
Eva - perhaps, if it's not the first time he's been out of work recently it's getting to him a bit? Like you say, once he's got through the 'nobody wants me' stage, his natural urge to get things sorted will kick in. Do you think you can hang on in there while he works through that?
It is fine to tell him how you feel, just make sure you are not accusatory.
Congrats, min.
Good advice, Krista.
Thank you! I can help anyone with clues if they need.
i just dont think this is work-related. it was for a while, but he got past that. i think hes just being "big dumb guy" tonight, and i think im gonna make him sweat for a while...
Thanks, Jac..gotta use my degree somewhere.
Eva - you know him best.
I agree! Many times husband takes things the wrong way because he believes that I am being accusatory.
It's an easy thing to do when you feel wounded.
debating if i wanna play chess tonight before bed... its a new thing we have been getting into, but im so annoyed tonight i dont think i wanna spend that much time with him...
Krista - you used that degree just by being a wife and mother, never mind a sibling, a child, a family member, a neighbour etc., etc.
Hmm - you two have been playing chess? A power game if ever there was one. Is this a new thing or something the two of you have always done?
i always say "what did i do to tick you off this time baby!"
its new. we were looking for something to do together + we kinda took to chess...we are pretty evenly matched. :)
Hey ren. Yes, sometimes it pays to be direct. Mind you, by saying that you are putting the blame on yourself.
More true than you know, Jac! That's part of what burns a lot of social workers out..we give in our personal lives then give on the job!
hahahha - it's a line from an ellen foley song -
i just say it casue it takes the tension off
and out of the situation.
you could be a total Girl and let him win (I could NEVER do that!!)
well, i guess id better get going...gotta get ready for bed...
she throws off her clothes and gets the chessboard out...
Eva - If the b/f is feeling somewhat depressed and maybe a little unmanned now, this may or may not work.. like I say, you know him best. Spice up the chess game a bit by setting something that the winner wants as the prize. Alll fantasies and/or 'chores' to be written down in advance on small cards that are then shuffled and so neither of you know what's going to come out of the pack when the winnder picks it off the top of the pile.
more like flannel PJs and my glasses...
gnite all!
lol
Get those wish cards written, the pair of you! Time to spice up your lives!:)
I like that idea..then even the loser could win, if it's a good "chore."
Exactly, Krista. In fact, though I only just thought of it, I think I might have a go at that myself. The possibilities are endless.
Goodbye EvaNadine!I will see you tomorrow in the log
'Night, Eva. Good luck!
hi all jilli you with us?
Hi, diem.
hi Jac ionly have 54 to go
diem - you've been married for a long time. What do you think of my 'wish cards' idea re chess or whatever game for a couple? It needn't be chess, it could be something as simple as guessing how much the weekly shopping bill is going to come to.
Min and I can clue you in when you want re the grid, diem.
oooooooooh i'm going to go get ready for a good game of chess now........bbl
Heck! I seem to have set harp's mojo running.;-)
lol
Hi and 'bye, harp. Enjoy your game.
hubby works until late tonight tho
harp - that gives you time to write your set of 'wish cards' out. He can do his tomorrow...
Fireworks --- anyone need a clue or 2 before I go
Congrats, lots.
I doubt it, lots. I think they're all too busy playing chess now. LOL
It's gone awfully quiet in here. All I can hear is the sound of pens franctically scratching wishes on cards.
Or even frantically.
TTFN till tomorrows grid - you're up late Jacula! isn't it about 2.45am
It is, lots, yes. See you later.
Love the pic of your JR btw, lots.
I am in the US at the moment but live Nr Cambridge in UK Bye for now
TTFN, lots.
Lottie is my "baby" hence the name Lots I'm gone now
jacula we just ask we are friends first no need to wish tho can see where for some it would do the trick
last one, co 6,24. help, plz
diem - thanks for replying. Yes, but the element of surprise can sometimes add spice?
dives in 47 left
first co plus 2 vowels
thanks, lots. fireworks
co6/24, admad, adds 2 vowels to the end of the cypher, co4. It's an opium extract used for pain-killing or cough-killing in many cases.
y/w and congrats, admad.
night and good babbling, all
yw Adam..............
we got snow 1st this winter YES
diem - we had snow here in UK last Sunday. LOL
Or did you mean first as in 'before USA'?
Anyway, diem, all this talk about the weather isn't getting your words found... yell if you need a clue.
jac mari and baboe went from Brum to Glasgow today m6 they ok for weather
No snow yet here in NY. We have just had flurries so far. I really wouldn't care if it did not snow at all here
Weather was fine in UK everywhere but where I am today, diem. Up here, over 300ft and level with the Russian Steppes, we have our own weather system. No kidding! Here, today, it was misty and half light for most of the day. 10 miles away, where Other Half works, the weather was clear.
M6 and M5 were snowbound Sunday before last, diem. Not as in stopped, but it was a blizzard once you got into Worcs from Staffs.
tks jac i feel better not a good place to be )on the border with a blizzard) tks again
Min - I was offered 'New Years' Eve in Times Square' by my Other Half, who'd been offered the trip by someone at work. I said, 'No, thanks.' I don't go out to New Year in Brum and can so no reason for 12 hours on a plane + all the hassle at airports each end to stand out in the cold in either city.
hi all.
Maybe I'm just becoming a Grumpy Old Woman? LOL. No. I'd love a short trip to NY to catch up with a friend and to see the place. Not just a visit to get crushed in a crowd though.
Hi, autumn.
hi Jac. See you are talking about snow. Took me 1 1/2 hours to get home tonight ... because it never snows in Vancouver and people don't know how to drive in it.
snow? in vancouver? nothing in pitt meadows (yet)
autumn - you'd think it never snowed in UK either, due to lack of gritting, general unpreparedness of drivers and road authorities. Mind you, I guess last time we had major snow here was in the 1980s...
cant imagine you grumpy far less old
about an inch in Richmond and big flakes now. It was raining (pouring) downtown at 5:00
o great. supposed to go christmas shopping tomorrow
However, re snow in Vancouver. When my relatives lived on Vancouver Island, I know they said they had no snow (the only real big shock they got was when Mt. St. Helens erupted and they felt the shock wave)... but my cousin used to go up into the mountains to ski. He got a major knee injury, eventually, from an accident pursuing that hobby. He's recovered now, though.
streets white coming down like a bugger in north delta
argh! i do not want to hear this
Wed - I lived through 5 Ottawa winters....this is nothing!
Snow's only fun if you don't have to be somewhere at a certain time. Am I right, Wednesday?
snow is pretty in pictures. most fools dont know how to drive and they panic and that's what causes all the hubbub
In UK, where we don't (or didn't) often work that far from our homes, we can take the option of walking.
snow ok slush yeuk!!
I think that driving in snow and on ice, and driving on motorways, should be part of the driving test.
okay - needing to concentrate on the grid if I want to finish it before bedtime. I have lived 40 years in Vancouver and 5 years in Ottawa. I spent more time stuck in snow traffic in BC than in ON.
slush IS YUK!, yes. Black or brown slush is bad for your clothes and yellow slush should be avoided at all costs.
i am stuck on the k's grrrr i've tried everything
back later
hello all -- here for five minutes to clue if needed...
autumn - for the 3 years I guess you have spent stuck in snow traffic you now have a free voucher for 5 clues.:) Ask away.
bye autumn!
wednesday: the k's are anagrams of each other: ka 4 and ko 4...
ka + 'atop'. ko4 is an anagram of that.
Hi, stid.
success :)
hey Jac! are you slushy -- or is autumn slushy? we had freezing rain for a little earlier, then it tried to snow, now it's stopped and warmed up a couple degrees.
go weds go!
WSell done. Weds.
stid - it's just misty and autumny here at the moment with frost at night. Weekend before last was snowy.
that's not too bad then. I like mist in the autumn. It feels.... autumnal!
(peeks in to tell stid i played my turn)
I saw... you sneaky person, you!
stid - godd news re my 'not'' Ma in Law today. She had her op., right breast removed, no further problems uncovered, op took only 1 hour 20 mins, not 3-5 hours like they predicted. She'll be in hospital until Friday so they can keep an eye one the drain etc.
good, not godd.
lol
The tight band headache I've had around my head all day has finally cleared.
so glad it went well Jacula! I know how scary things like that can be. Do you think she wants to be on my "list" of people I think about?
I bet Jac -- stressful!
and it's feather's turn now.
stid - I don't care if she wants to be on there or not, no idea! Just add her. xxx
(popped in for a moment) Jac - if you knit, you can make a boob until she's ready for reconstruction surgery
You got it. {{{jac}}}
rofl... yeah, with a flourescent pink nipple!
my aunt is a survivor and she makes them for all the women who come into the hospital.
seriously though autumn, are there really patterns for that? I would think it would be nice to have something like that.
that is so nice of her. And glad to hear she's a survivor, autumn, my aunt is not -- I never got to meet her.
autumn - she's decided not to go for reconstruction surgery but to get a 'chicken fillet' in her bras at some point. I'm interested in the knitting thing though?
completely off topic, how is this for a (real) headline: Canadian Man Arrested At Wash. Border With 93,000 Ecstasy Tablets
http://knitty.com/ISSUEfall05/PATTbits .html or http://www.titbits.ca/ Hope that works
okay, need to go help the kid with homework. back online later or tomorrow!
gotta go have fun you all
(think we scared Diem off with all the boob talk?)
Sorry, autumn - page doesn't work.
'Bye, diem.
combined with the cards im gone (to play cards) POOF
jac - the site is www.knitty.com then you can search (on the left hand side) for titbits.
stuck stuck and stuck. bye all.
Wednesday - what are you stuck on?
Boobs are so much part of a woman's life. You're not always aware of brushing against them, or their being there as you go through your everyday tasks of life... but they are they and they are part of you as a person, a woman and a sexual being. I imagined what I might be saying to my right boob on Sunday night, if I was facing an operation to remove it next day... ''My last day with you... we've been through some times together, haven't we?' stuff like that. Sounds stupid, I know. I put a really pretty bra on today... It's sized a bit small for me now and gave me the '4 boobs' look like Nell Gwynne had. However, I think I wanted to tell my boobs I appreciate them being there or something. If that sounds mad, I don't care. It's how I felt.
Got the site saved now. autumn. Will check for the boob pattern later. Thanks.x
My partner also noticed and appreciated them just being there.
And, no, that was not a sexual comment.
Obviously talking to my self now. Sorry for getting 'too real' but I am Babble's official Reality Checker.
Sorry, Jac - I have one to go on my grid today. Haven't used the chat for clues at all....
Best of luck with your last word, autumn. I can clue if you need.
I'm still too wound up from the day to sleep. I seem to have become super-sensitive lately.
menopause is like puberty but going in reverse!:((
oh Jac...I know all about that too.
Have you found your final word yet, autumn?
yup. Found it and had to look up the stupid co6. I didn't know what it was...I was just trying letters that added up right.
Incidentally, autumn - SG Atlantis is my fave. What says your Rotti?
Congrats, autumn!
She seems to recognize the opening theme and lays on her blanket until the closing music. Right now, she is laying beside me, watching WWE Raw.
I think I need to change my picture. It's been the same since my friend was killed in June
Who does your Rotti fancy? Ronon Dex? Phwoar! Erm... recovers self... Steve the Wraith is quite sexy. He look a bit like my daughter's b/f. Howwever, wheh I made the mistake of saying that to her, she said 'Back off from the boyfriend. MUM!@ Oh lol. I hope she realises I would never do that. Actually, I know she does know that; she said it for the comedy value. We're like that in this house!
Don't give her ideas., autumn with the wrestling stuff. It's all fake!
She doesn't really fancy anyone in particular. I swear she knows I'm talking about her because she is looking at me so intently.....oh...maybe it's time for a pee???? Back later.
Okay, autumn and I'm sorry about your friend.x
ANybody for clues on the hy 4,8 please?
Anyone need clues for grid?
hy4/8 is a song of praise sung in Church.
please, on the h's! I've only 1 of the eight needed, and I only need 12 out of the whole thing!
thanks a bunch jacula!!!!
The first thre 'h' words are Scotish Babblets.
*that's three and Scottish. Sorry!
what's a babblet? Sorry for my ignorance... Us German Americans!
lol :P
Babblets are word like inea, etna etc. Common ghrid words that might not be widely known words.
ha4/6 - Scottish for home -= ha = Actress Miss Thompson (think mostly Jane Austen stuff.)
Oh Thank you thank you! I've the second one on the ha's nad the hy. Slowly but surely I'm to be working on the others !
ha4/5 = Scottish version of 'possesses'.
I've that 4,5, but not the second
ha/5 (next) = Scottish version of 'in a minute'. It's an anagram of the thing your fire gives out to keep you cosy.
hy4/8 = a song of praise but it sounds masculine, like 'that man'.
You're a novice Babble-addict's saviour!!!
hanne - that's 'cos I'm a seasoned Pro Babbler. LOL
First day!
"tis really so much fun!!
I thought I'd seen you in here before Hannelore?
well, last nite, but I couldn't play for long. I only got half done before I had to let the computer go to my brother
Well, I thought I'd seen your well before that, Hannelore.
No matter.
No, I just found a link to this from a blog yesterday. Perhaps there's another Hannelore???
Might be.
hi babblers
hallo!
hi hannelore
Hello, shdy.
Sad to say, but I must go now. And only ten words left! Bye Babblers!
hi jac! how are you?
nite han
'Bye, hannelore.
I'm fine, thanks, shdy. And you?
good, thx
thanks for helping me so much jac! Maybe I'll catch you tomorow... Bye
'bye, Hanne.
just hitting that limbo between a few days off for thanksgiving and a week for Christmas (month of work, i guess?)
Doid you finish the grid, shdy?
yep, need any clues?
Month of work twixt two hols --- eurgh! Glad we don't 'do' Thanksgiving in UK.
Nope, shdy - did it in 30 mins yesterday.
it's really a chore, deal with family, cook a bunch of stuff, so glad to be back home!!
Welcome home, shdy!
good deal, wasn't as difficult as small ones can be!
Yes, the grid at first sight appeared to have no words in it. But.. once you settled down and looked, they were there.
:) exactly how it worked, good description, jac!
Thank you, shdy.
yw, thx for the smile
I do hope DrG's got down to it and generated more grids to get us past the year end.
Sitre stalled last week on his Thanksgiving Day 'cos n more puzzles.
after there wasn't one the other day (can't remember when, but i'm sure you were there too), he said enough to get us through the year were there
I thought he'd got it all computer generated ad infinitum. Seems not.
i missed 4 days while at mother's house, but there was a day before that when it "ran out"
I should put Dr_G and my son in touch. LOL
couldn't hurt!
Might do! Son apparently knows exactly how site works, etc., etc. Told him I didn't want to know... unless Dr-G has big probs he can't work out.
i take it son works in programming?
At least my son didn't offer me 'cheat' options, which he could do. We both feel there's no point in pl;aying the ggame if you don't play it for real.
Masters in it. shdy.
wouldn't be much fun, would it?
flip !
No, shdy. I like to work things out for myself,. as do most folks.
programming is a side effect of my profession, but not something i spend time on outside of work
flip, Hel? It's only n4.28 here in UK
hk, you on a different clock?
sorry, i meant late flip! very late flip!
Hi Hell on |Earth - are you having a 'Snowball' drink, have you flipped or are you just wishing for the Babble flip?
ahh, then get to work, girl!!!!
what's a snowball?
i'll leave the 2 of you to man the station, enjoy!
bye shdy
'Night,. shdy.
nite hk, nite jac....zzzzzzzzz
Hell - a snowball is Warninks Advoocat (egg flip), + lemonade + a dash of lime cordial + a cherry on a stick. Beloved drink of many middle-aged women at Christmas parties in UK up until about 1983.
LOL - ok, a further inquiry then, what is an egg flip?
My Paul used to make 'snowballs' drinks for the kids at family parties (before he met me), not realisiing that the Advocaat was about 13.5% proof. LOL.
LOL - yay paul!! kids musta loved him, parents too, after the kids settled down :)
hi everyone...can anyone tell me what the 6-letter word starts with?
Brandy & egg yolks, Hell.
ahh, that sounds delicious actually
ti - esp.
hi ep
ty jacula
huh, surprise snowballs (genuine) arived here today so theusual Monday night bridge was cancelled!
hiya jili
Hello all. I'm 1 away from fireworks and wondered if I could get help with the hi 4/5 please?
hi cake
hi4/5 -- present tense of the previous word
jilli - did you see the earlier discussion about chess and 'wish cards' suggestion?
It caused one male member to leave the discussion. I'm not sure what reason that was for.
wait...the 7-letter word starts with ti, right? What about the 6-letter words? I have three, but need one more (guess I'm not being very clear, huh?)
15 left
no, jac, just got here after doing Xmas cards and dinner
have ai6, gi6, ti6
goodness! what could have offended a male about chess?
You've done the Chrimble cards already, jilli? Bugger! I've had the address book and the box with the cards in it out the kitchen table for a week now.
Thanks jilli! Yahoo!
morning all
cofi
lready got all the 6's, but what's the 7?
Hi, ishult.
yw cakey! YAY!!!!
sorry wrong window
hi ishult
hi ish
ti7 is a girls' name or a type of art/lamp (think painted glass or silk with fringes)
You can also have breakfast at ti7.
got it, thanks Jac
I already got the ai6, gi6, and ti6. Can anyone tell me the starting letter of the last 6-letter word?
ti6 = those who hold the stopwatches.
my almost 7 month pomeranian had all her baby teeth pulled today (she had 2 sets of teeth, freaky), & she is doing great, healnig so fast! still a little loopy
That is weird, Hell. 2 sets?
Jac...I have that one. There are four 6-letter words, and I just need one more. It has to start with C, F, M, or K because those are the only letters I have open.
ai6 = those who want to be famous or reach the stars?
yes jacs - i would have been completely freaked out, had not the same thing happened to Lenny's son's pomeranian last year
eps, there's a co6 which is the previous co4 + 2 vowels
TY jill
my vet says that, sadly, it is not uncommon in small/toy breeds, snout too small in proportion to head
yw
co6 = enigma co4 + 2 vowels.
HK, I have a friend who breeds pugs and cleft palates are common with them -- and they keep them
Yes, Hell. it is true. That's why I stick to Heinz 57's for my dogs.
well, keeping 2 sets of teeth was out of the question, lol
we gave it 3 weeks, playing a lot of tug-of-war, lots of rawhides, but they were stubborn little buggers
Fireworkf************
that's why I was a careful breeder of purebred Great Danes as are other GOOD purebred breeders
i have one of those too jacs
yay for ish !!!!!!!!!!
YAY ishy!!!
Having been born with a mother who knows about dogs, I've learned some and that's why I choose my dogs carefully, should they choose to live with me.
Hi - new here and I have TWO words to go! That co6 one and ti5
2 sets of teeth is a minor probelm common to tiny breeds, pure or not
i've been amusing myself lately answering questions on 'yahoo ask' & someone wrote asking how to tell if their dog was ready to breed, you should have seen - so many answers telling them (sharply) NOT to breed
I know that, jilli.
biggirl, both have been clued within the last few minutes -- just scroll doen
co6=co4 +two vowels
Amusing, I guess, Hell?
one person answered by asking how many championships the dog had won
there is SO much ignorance about dog breeding!
ti5 is ti + past tense of what you do to your shoes
hell - like when the dogs are 'locked' because their owneers had been too busy on their exclusive breeders internet sites...
actually that's the whole word. nvm the ti + lol
yes jacs, i've gotten feedback from people (probably 11 year olds) telling me how wise i am - a nice shot in the arm :)
LOL jacs - yep, like that
i need one more K word. I already have ko4. Any hints?
if you already have ti4 & ti 6, the ti5 's fit on either side
eps -- anagram the K word
nice...thank you!!
:)
hiya buddies! (only 55 words, she said with disappointment)
Ish, I can't find the other ti 5!
hiya book
Funniest thing I ever saw in my life was my snobby friend who had a Heinz 57 dog (a mongrel) that was locked back to back woith a stray male dog of similar variety)... they were on her opposite neighbour's front drive. She knew she coldn't separate them and so dried to carry both (as a coupled pair) behind the hedge 'where none of the Mum's on their wway to school could see them'. I'm STILL hooting with laughter about that tale and it was 20 or more years ago.
big, one ti5 is the pl of a ti4
Cancel that - serious derrrrr moment!
lol, jac!
yay! Fireworks!
YAY biggie!!!
firewords ! that was fast!
{{{{lshult}}}}} YAY! shalom!
YAY helen too!
YAY HK!!!
YAY biggirl!
Well done, Hell. I told you it was an easy grid.
oh, I still have the icky bug. Hold on...
hi stid -- no bridge tonight -- snow instead
Well done, bigger.
jacs - i can't even imagine trying to do that, must have been hysterical
well, you're really behind, stid -- next is a Nemo character *going to get one*
I wondered about that Jill -- It tried valiantly to snow here, too. May still, if it precipitates much over night.
bugs? (?)
\It was hysterical watching a 7' 12" woman trying to move about 26lbs of conjoined dog, yes. I know we were the same weight then 'cos we did a joint weight in.
7' 12" means eight feet tall???
no more bugs, I refreshed back to my "November" icon.
Not 7 foot twelve inches. I meant 7 stones and 12 lbs.
OH, oops
thanks Jac -- I had an image of a giantess in my head!
and the wind is picking up so if I disappear, you'll understand...
that's 110 pounds?
oh, so much clearer now that she;s converted it to 'stones' LOL
LOL - sorry about that! Math has never been my stron point.
stones have never been MY strong point, lol
what's a stone?
1 stone = 14 lbs.
one stone = 14 pounds, yes?
we 'Mericans don't use stones. not a bit.
except in our kidneys 8-)
I know, Gwen! You should do! Stones, pouns and ounces aare so mjuch more forgiving!
jacula, and we 'Mericans don't use the word "do" after should. That's another UK thang, I guess
It's late, I can't type, I should leave. Plenty of finishers here who can clue!
nighty night dearie
i am going to check my mail - bbl
niters jacs :)
I know I've had a kind of hard day worrying about my 'not' MIL, but I love her and so I did. Her son's slept well tonight, I hope, now he knows she's out of danger.
i tried to change my icon yesterday -- is it showing up as a bug or a Dalek?
I hope you will sleep well too Jacula. See you tomorrow!
gwen, you look like a large cricket
hmmmm, i'm still seeing my "regular" icon. Must be a BabbleExpert bug (no pun intended!)
how about now? Dalek or cricket?
dalek
oh goody. thanks
dalek now, book
must refresh
that is one gross cricket, that i had
now for Nemo (Latin for nobody)
it sure was, one of the flightless ones, I assume?
I shoulda been stidmama nemo in facebook, LOL
Good morning all - 7.20 am here - Had to rush to finish - thunderstorm again last night and had to unplug computer and modem and telephone
wee fireworkses
My, we live on a violent planet!
good morning ursh -- glad you have power today!
YAY gwen!
YAY Gwen!!!
one of the fastest grids ever, AFAIK
I don't recall when ti7 became not a proper noun. This game has a weird dictionary in it LOL
har hear, gwen!
that's hear hear, not har har
hmmm, seems ti7 is a kind of fabric. did not know that
har har in reply 8-D
but maybe it should be har har
ar ar, humor!
seldom have we had so many small, high scoring words. Two Fs are so handy
two FFs were diFFicult to work around!
well, live and learn about the obsolete ti7!
well, i'm gonna surf over to weboggle -- they are beta-testing a new build called wordsplay -- lotsa fun -- see y'all tomorrow! *poink*
later gwen!
Having an fa5/20 is v. handy, especially if it the further forward one we have in UK.;)
so stid -- you avoided the snow? We have heaps of wet stuff here and bridge was cancelled
I thought of you Brits when I found the fa5/20
bye book
Oh dear! Just been canoodling before O'H went off to work. I must stop that now if |I'm to clue decently.
no snow that has stuck yet, but it has been COLD and wet. I asked Tom to get home early just in case the roads were slick.
I took Lucky to the vet this evening ($90) because he has an infected eye. The good news was no scratches and nothing embedded. But now I have to wrestle him three times a day for a week to put ointment in the eyes!
stid, I had to pin my dear Susiecat down on the bed today while I tried to cut off big mats on her side she sleeps on, and she screamed at me like a kid with his first haircut
ti7?
oh Jill -- poor kitty. Poor you. Buffy does the same thing.
I just sneezed 8 times in a row. I guess that means I am becoming allerigic to my own cigarette smoke. However, I still stand up for the rights of smoker to smoke in their own homes.
I hated doing it but she hasn't allowed me to groom her properly and didn't do it herself, so...
ti 7: a fancy lamp, a jewelry store that Audrey Hepburn visited (Breakfast at Ti*****'s)
jilli - we had to shave the poor., beloved and no late Kira once a year.
ty
now, not no
gad, my Suze is a longhair and I couldn't bear to have her shaved! It's just her right hip area which is matted and I'm determined to fix it but it's hard to do alone.
I've got a guinea pig with the same prob. She screams the place down when I trim her hair and comb it and cut the tangles out.
jilli - kira, once shaved, and she did lie down and let P do it... seemed relieved once it was done.
She seemed much happier with all that fur gone.
I am heading out. See you lovely folks tomorrow! *poof*
btw, jac, you're not finding nemo, just eating the poor little guy, oui!
'Bye., stid.
s'long stiddy
actually, once I'd cut bits off, Suze did seem to relax
That's just a joke, jilli. Never had a sushi meal.
I do like fish meals though!
sushi's nice! Sashimi's nice too.
There was (is?) a wonderful Japanese restaurant in Montreal
Daughter and son like sushi. Not tried it myself. Not a fan of cold fish or cold rice.
good evening, all
Hi, cybernan.
Got taken as a kid to a Japanese retaurant in Shanghai where the waitresses were all called "OK" because that';sa bout all the Englsih they knew. We had sukiaki, was told to say "skiaki', don't pronounce the U
Hi nan
It's sn4/8ing here!!!! :( This is not supposed to happen until Dec. 24, then disappear on Dec. 26, never to return until the next Dec. 24. Obviously global warming does not apply to the north or preciptation and temperatures therein.
I wonder how many soldiers were in love with waitresses called 'OK'?
LOL nan -- snowing here too!
lol jac
Nan's n longer dreaming of a White CVhristmas, just like the ones she used to know... etc., etc.
no snow here yay but iit has been drizzling
Snow is for the young --- for the rest of us it is one big back ache!

hi nan!
Ohm okaym cyber. But youy must have once enjouyed making snowmen/ladies/giant snowballs/ sledging downhill only to crach into either gorse bushes or the wall of a pigsty. Then you'd ask your parents if you could see thee friendly pig after Christmas... and they're get kinda evasive about that.

jac, i looove your icon!
no, jilli - we had to be satisfied with Yahoo bridge
Jac tuna is better than nemo
MrP - you need either to get your bitch spayed or spray the anti-bitch stuff aroun d the outside of your house. LOL
ty :)
back
I was just as happy they cancelled Jilli, was already feeling nervous about driving home - especially down Lee's Hill
herin - don't like tuna and doubt I'd like Nemo either.
My dad used to steal Granny's biscuit tin sheets for sledding
the bitch is causing a right mess. I have never seen such lovesick dogs!
Hi Flosey
isn't this another insect icon day?
MR Pres can you get the dog de-sexed? or is she for breeding?

hi Herin - we use to leave the sleds and tobs. at base and slide down on big pieces of cardboard
Jac LOL i love the icon though
she is for show and for breeding.
