BB i can give you a smile. My cat got all pissy and indignant at being put on her blanket so i could vacuum the couch. She then decided to take on said vacuum with the stare. She even let me vacuum her

i grew up with a cat you could vacuum. You'd vacuum chair, one side of cat, flip cat, do other side of cat and chair. :)

her biggest distress is having a young child still at home (I think he is around 11)
exactly. they were getting ready to go in and operate on nerves in his neck prior to diagnosis. i guess the only truly accurate test is an autopsy. which is grim.
hi volley and bbnaz! sorry not to answer... arm is coming along so slowly... frustrating!! Am seeing the surgeon on Thursday. Will see what he has to say of the pain then
from my father's first symptom - choking on food - to diagnosis was 3.5 months, incuding 2 spinal taps.

when you read about the disease though, it is a miracle we can diagnose it at all. We'll be praying for surgeon to have wisdom to help you mrp.

mayo thought a nut in the guamanian diet may have been a cause of ALS there, though apparently that turned out not to be the case.
dee, i was saying that Guam has the highest incidence of ALS in the country and was mentioning what they used to think caused it.

i am not in the least convinced about the whole trans-fat thing. It's not like my diet is high in it in general. The trans-fat free butter stuff tastes horrible.
place i go for breakfast sometimes has been eliminatinng tansfats, which means i've been avoiding things like the fake butter stuff; i fear for proper eggs there at this point.
the old fashioned type fats are the best anyway, people never used to be as sick as they are now and also not overweight like now

no. i actually live in a valley--my folks live up the mountain, and spend a lot of time with no power, but dad's got a plow, so they can always get to the road.
I wish we got snow where I live. This hot little valley in Washington gets frosty, but lest than two inches a snow a year for the eight I've lived here! It used to snow where I lived for eight years before here. It was so sad to come to school in winter and have no more snow days!
