At times, I'd really rather be there.
This grid is kicky my rear end.
kicking
fresh co4 chips are a wonderful thing
microbial microbes are not in there either. sigh.
Oops -- better be careful how we congratulate people
ah, that didn't occur to me, jilli, even as i typed it into the grid :)
Being asleep on the couch is most appealing
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ba_NNKy UwEE Oh! That's a new one re this track. However, since I do lovean understand thr art of sumo....
that 10 has got to be a compound word, but I can't find it!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jJWQkV gDs4 - you do this in your teens and you wonder again 40 yearsa later,
phantom brocade
roadblock, too.
it isn't a compound
keep wanting corncob too, but there's not enough o's to go around :)

I have found the 9/10 if you would like a clue.
DC we are talking straight out sun glasses not prescriptions
oh, in that case, i've not payd more than 200
I would like a clue :)
which c is it from?
clue is... metal element + take your vit**** tablets every day
I would like a clue for the 9 and 10 others avert your eyes..
it is from the lower left hand c
it can come from either c

I just finished the lower c and its not from there
you are right. i saw it from the lower c.

See ya pige... Maybe for teh lobster
I think the most amount of money on sunglasses i have spent was $30 on a pair of Matrix style glasses
heh. i spent $6 on a pair of sunglasses once...
I must be tired -- the metal element has me buffaloed
mostly i buy them at the dollar store, lady
Jill shoe people like them
Jes i second that. I dint them too mcuh
I spent $150 on Revos...
shoe people?
not enough Bs
People that make shoes
i just lose them!
Um also Carleekat likes making peach co????
Jes so do i
not enough Bs for that either, lady
Kind of like that
has this got anything to do with a metal element?
I can't think of everything
co6 is also a blue colour... take away the last letter

MR PREs bad mr pres

i will try to catch you jilli
http://tinyurl.com/2j3flp
that is because you are so bright therdc
and i've been in the grid, and not so much in the chat tonight. :)
stid will pass us all in about 5 minutes
I have 35 words
go seain go!
http://tinyurl.com/2j3flp
huh. that's valid in English.
oh, it's a type of cigar. that explains it.
I need a word for each E in the top row
one is oldish
es7 i have not.
yea Jill -- take the opposite of "younger" and make it el* + plural letter...
myspace bites the wax tadpole, just in case you were wondering.
just got it, thanks
why is that, dc?
DC yes it does
wasn't wondering about that, dc!
it has a crappy interface, full of spam and generally icky. I have an acct there incidentally, and may yet close it out.
so.. what's the significance of a wax tadpole, just for curiousity's sake.
I have one there so i can lerk
i like myspace better than facebook
Actually thats a fib i have a myspace account so i can see fotos of my godson
i am still her.
Hi Skeleton
yeah, that's basically why i have mine. i 1st encountered myspace because of Weird Al
i'm rather quite the opposite, carra, but that's why there are options :)
does anyone feel like clueing the es7/32?
ive had myspace for so long.. since 2003.. its crazy how id be like do you have myspace..no one knew what it was.. now everyone has it
firewords
coca cola's 1st attempt to put their name in chinese was badly done, jes
congrats, dart!
YAY dart!
*delurking My MySpace has over 2100 frends - mostly unsigned bands. I'm spending more time on Facebook though. Lots more interactive.
ah. thanks dc
and there was a band Bite the Wax Tadpole.
I like LIvejournl
anyone got something with ai.
and it sounds silly 8)
LJ rocks! love it there, i do, sixApart and all.
do wish they'd not sold, though.
anyone.
the AI words are Scots, i think.
No i dont sorry buddy
ai 4/4: start with what you breathe and add a consonant
so nobody has the es7?
yeah. lj is fine for me. i avoid the other social sites. babblechat is about as sociable as i get
Jilli, es 7 ies plus the top of your shirt minus one consonant
hi chic!
thanks for that ES!
that's English? sigh
Hey stiddie
thanks chic
i thought not valid, as that's Spanish in my brain.
I am not that thrilled with facebook -- but I like the scrabble on it
I tend to poke at most thinks these days
oh, how odd, the etymology!
anymore .
stid how do you get to the scrabble from facebook? I couldn't finsd it..
thanks, chic -- not English or common Spanish, grrr
scrabulous app in facebook, chic
"scrabulous" is a third-party application you can add
anymore ai words
I don't do "social" things well, in real life or (it turns out) in virtual life.
I have a tree now at Facebook
plural of that 4, skeleton
thanx I'll try it!
1st ai4 is sort of like a not proper form of 'be', specifically the historical contraction of 'i am'
I have to take that "not English" back, I guess -- the es7 is "a snake mackerel".
thanks for that seain, I hadn't seen it yet!
Can i just throw my arms in the air and run about screaming
yeah, looking it up surprised me, too, jilli!
of course, lady *passes a goblet of wine*
thanks dcseain
yw, skeleton
stid -- you're a whiz at facebook!
I think i need one whole weekend with the other half but that isn't going to happen with him working 50-80 a week
ok thats a fib 50-70 hours a week
who knows the 2nd ab word
skeleton, it means "opposite to or away from the mouth"
sort of like a tree-related word, it is.
thanks again
new word or should be: scobled. sounds good to me.
well, I am up to 87....
hi mkg
go, stid!
seain, any sy words today?
hi mgk wellcome
a pair of them, stid
2 sy words
okay, *looking* maybe I need the count?
sy 4/7 5/16

*yawn* I think flosey and chic have the right idea. I'll be back in the morning to try to finish. Have a lovely time playing!
and thanks for all the help.
sleep well, stid
I dont understand running
i like to do it in the woods, but not on the street, so i'm rather w/you lady, esp on the competitive front
Nope i dont get it if something is chasin you yep but if not nope
where i do it, the terrain is very uneven, but scenic.
lots of logs and rocks to rest on as needed
i am going for a wile by.
Nope not appealing to me
getting in shape so you can outrun it when something does chase you ;)
exactly, jes!
I dont run from trouble
i've run from possible assault
bye skeleton
i used to run every day. used to be able to outlast the dogs.
Bye SKeleton
mostly, it's a mind-clearing. a kind of moving meditation.
just had a second brief power outage but this one knocked out the internet connection for a while
Glad you are back Jill
bad snowstorm here
Brrr
it's a sign jilli, ither god or the power company (not sure how to tell wich one) wants you to stop playing babble. lol
Hi JOso
wants me to go to bed, I think!
hi herin
hi joso
Jill i don't blame you on the bed frount
that sounds like the power company then, God normally wants something more proactive.
snowing here too, jilli, but not to heavily yet
but I don't wanna go to bed!
*too
hello, joso
snowwing here too, expect 10 inches, it's pretty now, should be very pretty tomorrow
hi dc
no snow here yet, but worst of winter here is usually jan-early mar
at least you have good snow clearance in the centre of the universe, joso!
it's lovely in the centre of the universe, and you feel sooooo important too
lol joso
had about 9-10 here saturday...just got done shoveling about an hour before coming in for the flip
i am back.
where is there dart
hi again skeleton
ur out West, dart?
hi red
minneapolis
oh, wow. shovelling that late here violates noise ordinances.
wb, skeleton
lambic is another phantom
we haven't got that depth of snow but it's been very windy so trees come down and branches mess up power lines
so is clorine and aborial
yep
and larceny
joso, your icon and text don't exactly match, lol!
and escarole
Jill snow ek. We are at 30C here
it did the day he posted the text :)
yum, escarole
who knows the ci word
wanna trade, lady?
I enjoy the snow, drives my wife and others around me crazy, only other that likes it as much as me is shadow, our dog.
it means hello/goodbye in Italian, skeleton.
No
30C. we'll have to wait until April or May for temps like that again.
ok
probably. we do get warm spells mid-winter.
you don't think Dr. Doom is a nice guy, you know, once he getts home and the mask comes off.
ITs icky
I think we had about 2 days last summer with 30C temps
lickity is my dad.
probably he is. Most evil vilians usually make decent family people.
I think I'll make some calvin snowmen this year
oh, wow. we get 45-50 such days in a normal year here.
i wish we got enough snow to do that here.
Its icky and most of the time i am allready over Christmas so incescient carols and heat makes me cranky
Joso were is Dr Doom From
We have no snow here.
last summer here wasn't summer, was more like November much to our disgust
move here and youll change your mind dcs....once its on the ground...usually stays until late march or early april
that would rather make sense, as ur moving into Summer as we move toward Winter :)
comic books, the best arch villian, Fantastic Four are his normal foes
Oh Yes thats right F4 i forgot
i lived in Boston through 2 winters, so i know. wake up and shovel the snow, come home and shovel the snow, shovel the snow and go to bed. Then, com jan, stand on porch and shovel from front yard to side because you can't reach/throw from the sidwalk into the front any more.
all he wants is his mama back, and total world domination
we're supposed to get much warmer tomorrow night and get heavy rain to wash the snow away
it made a fascinating contrast to the 9months of warm i grew up with. :)
sounds familiar
I cant breath excuse me while i hack up a lung. Damn cold
there is no snow here
s oala
oh, lady, that sucks. Lungs take a long time to recover.
hi cybernan
hi nan!
I spent one Christmas in Florida and one in BVI, niether felt like christmas
ITs one of those disgusting hacks that would rival a 2 pack a day smoker
wow .
hi cyber
or when you get that one week of real cold....lows down to -30f and highs -10 to-15 f ....and dont get above zero F for about 7 days
xmas here is usually sunny and somewhere from 40-50º F. In my life it snowed xmas of 1974 and again in i think it was 1997. Dusting on xmas of 1982, but it'd melted by noon.
DC have you heard anything bad about MS office 07
those brisk mornings really make you feel alive don't they dart
i am going by again.
not yet, lady
hasta, skeleton
bye skeleton
bye skeleton
bye red
sometimes...then if the wind is blowing hard...takes your breath away
Ok if i put it on my pc do i need a patch to make 03 stuff work?
03 stuff?
don't know lady.
Offices 2003
no, it'll overwrite it, lady.
so true about the wind, dart.
Will i lose work?
depends herin, what op system do you have?
Dart thats why winter is brass monkey weather
i'd back it up to be safe, lady.
I know about real winters in the Montreal area -- cold and sunny and crisp with white snow crunching underfoot. icy blue sky overhead -- lovely for a day or two but much too much of it!
Operating system is err XP?
hi again everyone! back from my nightly cable breakdown.
The underground arcades in Montreal are lovely.
acctually herin it should say on the box what you need to run the software smoothly, normaly in small print on the side or bottom
wb, fran. how tiresome
its ok thru the holidays....but about february you start getting cabin fever and want to get out...or go somewhere warm
03 should work with xp
Oh dear thats a very good idea Joso i feel a little stupid now.
hiya fran :)
Fran yell at them
i've called them every time it happens too, so that hopefully they can figure out what the pattern is.
if there be a pattern
welcome back, fran -- I had a brief one because of our snowstorm a little while ago
yelling isn't going to get them here any faster. :-)
rehi fran
every night between 8:15 and 8:30 every night since Tuesday, I'd say that's a pattern. :-)
I am getting more RAM (i call it sheep) and a more memory next year. Its a laptop its going to cost me. so its a next year or year after thing

My housemates pc is a nerds sex its awesome
There are three purple and one rose candles. (Purple dyes were one so rare and costly that they were associated with royalty; the Church has long used this colour around Christmas and Easter to honour Jesus.) The three purple candles in the Advent wreath symbolise hope, peace, and love. These candles are lit on the first, second, and fourth Sundays of Advent. The rose candle, which symbolizes joy, is usually lit on the third Sunday. A fifth candle is placed inside the Advent wreath. This candle is lit on Christmas Day. It is white, the color associated with angels and the birth of Jesus. The four traditional advent themes for the four advent Sundays are: God's people -The Candle of hope. The old testament prophets - The Candle of Peace John the Baptist - The Candle of Love Mary the mother of Jesus - The Candle of Joy (a pink candle) There are three purple and one rose candles. ci + two vowels

i still do not get it.
co9 is a word for a b-complex, starts like a mineral
skeleton, add two vowels to CI, just try different combos until it works :)

quirk of expert - if i send to chat w/the cursor in the text, it puts a hard return in. That's a useful feature, once i'm used to it.
very polite young man you have there, mrp!
sc 6 --- add a town in Illinois, Pe****
i guess i'd not tried that. Ty, BabRab. And how are you this AM?

i tried by my textbooks today, but the site was not working. :/
i'm such a ni6 for only just now finding it! LOL
Luke has a very high IQ and when he is 'switched on', he amazes me and lickety. He has been wanting to play babble for a while now, and he has completed half my puzzles before letting me finish. So now he has his own login
An entertaining puzzle game of words and letters. 250,000 Words Dictionary - Puzzles Letters uses the ENABLE dictionary to check your words. ENABLE stands for "Enhanced North American Benchmark LExicon." It's a carefully researched and meticulously compiled combination of many other dictionaries (such as Merriam Webster 10th Edition and the Official Scrabble Players Dictionary).
most appropriate. It's also nice that he presents youngish in his chat style, which makes it easier to remember to phrase clues a bit less obliquely than i am wont.
that's part of ENABLE's self-descrption, i gather, babrab?
It is the spiel used to get customers for the puzzle game
I had to teach him to use chat and warned him to be polite and thankful.
I see.
the general level of politeness here, even when things get tense, is one of the joys of the chat here. :)
the incidence of autism is increasing.... but so is the research
yes indeed it is.
i do wonder on that increase - is it truly an increase, or jest better diagnosis.
*just*
I suspect some of both, as well as a planet with ever more people
does this mean you theorize that the growing population is a cause, and if so, more because more people means more, or more due to some aspect of large population. That, in turn, begs the question of how rates in US/CA compare to rates in say China or India.
the increase is due to the study that only became accepted 15 years ago
oh, which is that; i'd be interested to read it.
I will go look for it
http://www.aspergia.com/whatisas.htm
thanks!
that is a good introduction, will lead you to other sites and information about Asperger
the cuneiform is a nice touch in the site design :)
wow a 10, can i have a clue for it please?
co 9 -- computer language and one in charge of running an institution, ****istrator; pl
it's the plural of co9, bubble, which is a name for a b-complex, and starts like a mineral
ends with vit**** (nutrient tablet)

firewords! And just in time for end of maintenance. May that Ambassodor Bridge and Champlain both function as needed when the time comes. We're cutting this close - only 8min left in the maintenance window.

i should call my sister today and find out if i'm buying her books for her.

Um getting better.
he spoke to us in the gym, and took questions from students from both schools. We had to be ID'd by the principal and 2 faculty memebers to enter the school that day.
I need to update my camera photos
dc, he was elected gov of CA on my birthday in 1966, yes, an odd random fact, but i found that out doing one of those library research exercises they make you do in writing classes.
:) yeah, it's neat the things one learns on projects like that.

awwwwwwwwwwww
that collar looks like a nicer model than the one i have for Jasper.
DC did you get that back on
how is Jasper?
Yes how is Jasper
no, i opeted not to yesterday, and i'm not off until Monday, plus i need to buy a leather collar to thread through it to keep it on.
i'm monitorying the lip. i notice the scabs are all gone, which cannot be good, though swelling is down.
Poor kitty
Not to self *** must remember USA spelling!
note
sgams, just don't forget the british spellings, they're a
they're ALL in there. :-)
Ouch! Yes, that they are!
what happened to your kitty dc?
not quite sure, doxy. He has an issue with his lip on the right side is all vet and i know for sure. He's on an antibiotic, and has an e-collar i will probably put back on him, as it seemed to be healing faster when he could not rub nor scratch it. Though it seems he mainly wanted the collar off to groom himself from what i've observed.
so i may leave him collared when i'm not home, and uncollared when i am home, as a compromise. We'll see.
hope he gets better soon
DC what i have been doing with the kitty is get a damp cloth and run it over the cat and i brush her
he has few teeth left, the gastric reflux seems to've destroyed them.
i comb him twice a day, every day. he's a double-coat, and with few teeth left, can't do the job he used to
Poor kitty
poor boy
I also vacuumed the cat again today
All these poor kitties, whats going on??? Mine has been super sick all fall, the vets think he may have Lupus!
thats what I do with HObbit's collar, dc.
i'm sorry, ata, what's that that you do w/hobbit's collar?
Sgams i got my kitty desexed so she wouldn't be a kitty vending machine
sorry. take it off when i can monitor her, and leave it on when i can't
ah, i was guessing that, but was unclear. ty for clarifying :)
sorry.. I just assume people can follow my convoluted thought processes!
Sgams that is not good
i did, basically, but i'm also in hour 11 of a 12-hr work shift, so my brain's a tad addled :)
Awesome Herin...good to hear, all my animals, well except for the cockatiel are fixed! Much better for them.
oohhh gosh, I bet
DC i can't believe you are still awake
Sg i don't want kids why do i want to do that to the cat
why is that, lady? I sit at a desk, do what work comes along - which isn't much - babble, chat, and read.
Dc i would be head desking into an our
this game makes it appear i'm working to anyone who can't see the monitor
bm
dont' mind me...
morning, phan
Good one, exactly, we have a 11 yo dog that was seized from a puppy mill, where she was a moma from birth to 6 yo when we got her. VERY VERY sad to see the damage (mental and physically done). Poor thing still has bad days! Awful Awful that there are "those kinds" out there
ok its offical the b/f is in the dog house. No phone call and hes been out since 2

it is now after 4 am. I think I will try to get some sleep, which has evaded me all night so far.
Oh definitely, she is very very attached to my son, he has been a "godsend" for her, she gets tons and tons of love and affection, warmth, security, and she has come leaps and bounds, like it isn't the same dog some days BUT every once in awhile...a bad dream or something, but she calms down with some soft talk and hugs. She really is an awesome dog.
may that you sleep well, doxy
see you all later and thanks for the clues.
What sort of puppy?
DOxy for the love of go to ed
get some good rest doxy
PointerXSpaniel
my roommate's dog was a rescue. He's still mostly not very good w/other dogs - he had to fight others for food where he was when he was young.

Night Fran

g'night fran! pleasant dreams
or good day, whatever it is for you. :-)
When i was a kid we got an Irish Setter that was a breeding dog but she was too much trouble in birth. My dad feel in love with her and she was ours.
setters are nice dogs
a neighbor kept some growing up
Yes, ALL of ours are too, and we have 4 dogs, 5 cats, a cockatiel, an alpaca, 4 goats, 3 pigs, 8 geese, and a dozen chickens. I LOVE Setters, don't see many in my part of the world
Rusty, Penny, Copper, and Bronze were their names
where are you, sgasms?
Great names...
She was dumb big and dump. She'd run through the neighbours pond, ate the neighbours bread, run down the mountains
the first dog I ever knew was a red setter
Vancouver Island, BC, Canada
Nice Sgam.
We have a large BC contigent in this game, i've noticed.
what fitting names for Irish setters dc!
The dogs name was Melly (smelly melly) and we had a Lassie dog named Jamber
yes, and each was the colour of their name :)
jamber. that's fun to say :)
we had a setter once named Clancy and very much like the one your dad had herin
Yes, definitely, we are fortunate to have a nice little acreage, just inland from the "beaches" of the east coast of the island
the setter i knew was called Doggie Dee
Hey, NoNo thats my cat Clancys name (the sick one)
The dog thought it was part mountain goat to boot.
people next door growing up had a German Shepherd named Rabbit
Sgam what is the ALpaca like?
Clancy would eat anything even onions lol
I love watching the mountain goats when i'm out West. We don't have them here in the East.
Hahah I used to have a mini goat who thopught she was a dog!
Nono i didn't think onions were good for dogs?
are alpacas as...clever and devious, as goats?
better onions than chocolate for puppies
ahhh sgams hope your clancy gets better soon
We lived in the Blue Mountains in Sydney so there was forever to run as a kid
always a bonus for children, room to roam
Alpacas are AWESOME! they are soooo easy to tend to and their fur catches a fair price in the Spring. Our Emma, lives with the goats BUT is NOTHING like them, goats are nutty as fruitcakes
true dc had to be very careful not to leave any chocolate about
goats are insane
Goats eat everything
goats jump anything and escape
Does the ALpaca mind the goats?
yeah, farm near where i grew up had one that would chew through fences, chains, and what. Had him in a pen three fences deep, of logs, metal and stone from inside to out.
fainting goats! lol
our goat used to regularly jump over our 6' fence to escape and trot around the village
how very goat-like. At least the neighbours knew and returned him, i hope?
Oh the goat stories I can tell, we had one named Molly (the dog one) who one time started doing piroettes down our porch, and climbing the walls....turns out the darn goat had eaten a few too many rotting blackberries She was DRUNK as a Skunk!!! Mostly Emma doesn't mind the goats, until Dinky tries to eat her food then watch out!
her ;) oh yes. Harriet was almost a village goat lol
alpacas eat a different purina chow from goats? ;) Purina Alpaca Chow - it must exist. LOL
Oh yes animals drunk on fermented berries
Fainting goats are soooo weird! My mom says no no no to fainting goats she thinks she would freak out too much like they were dead....but generally they only faint when scared
Hobbit once ate a load of sloes we'd used in sloe gin out of our rubbish bin. That was funny
they are quite funny though..wonder if any have broken bones from falling
heh, that's funny, ata
it really really was. luckily she didnt eat enough to seriously affect her, just enough for amusement
Yes, there is Alpaca text, and goat text, but they All love a good alfalfa hay, especially now with snow on the ground. Ah, Emma likes it all even the goose food. Only real problems is if you have sheep text and goat text, because there is too much Copper I believe for sheep in goat text, or the other way around, its been awhile since we've had sheep
One night I thought the guys were mucking about when i heard a thump on the porch. Turns out there was a possum drunk as all get out on the fermented fruit from our back tree. Drunk fell of the roof.
Ata that poor dog
i love the smell of alfalfa hay
Oh Dang!
oh dang?
Should come sit in my Jeep dcs, it reeks of it since the last load I got a few days ago, POWERFUL!
the funniest thing Hobbit ate was a really REALLY hot Thai curry I'd made. She scarfed a few bits and then RAN to her waterbowl. She had 3 waterbowls full of water
lol
poor Hobbit!
Ata that is damn funny
there was a baby possum in my friends garage in a box of tennis balls.. no idea how they got there... shes like theres something hairy in that box so i lifted it up and there was .. there was a guy tiling her shower that day we made him pick it up and put it outside lol
Are you making fun of my speech dc??? hehehehe
once had a cat that craved anything with mint
I know! poor babe. I felt so bad for her but it was so soooooooo funny
he even unzipped a friends purse once to get at some peppermint gum she had
Catmint NoNo
no, was wondering what you were getting at is all. I'm from the South, it's familiar that usage, it is :)
??
Cara that is cute
seeing as catnip is a mint, that makes sense, nono
awwww nono! thats a good party trick!
co 7.44 clue please?
Ok dc, got it...the drunk possum falling off the roof....oh Dang!
i need sleep soon. B.fs still not home i really should bolt the down stars door on him make him sleep on the couch
able to be encoded, carra
true to a degree dc but he even wanted my peppermint schnapps when i had some
NOno that is funny
did you give him a taste?
! oh my, that is extreme, you'd think the alcohol would scare him off. did you let him have some?
ty
i would let him lick a drop or two from my finger and that is all
but he always came running when i had some
my cat likes cherry jolly ranchers ( candy)
I have to get a water fountain for the cat for fresh water for the summer
i have a picture of him trying to lick out the empty glass someplace
Oh cute nono
Herin, we have the kind you fill up and flip over into a "holding spot" where they drink, it has a one way spout so it only fills up so much, then the cat drinks more comes out. We are quite happy with them, we've used them for rabbits, and the dogs as well.
They have feeders like that too.
i found the picture..... its on my icon now
Ok do you think this is fair. The b.f went out at 2pm to a mates place said he would be back for tea and would bring it home what i needed. Since its now 1040pm and hes still out should i get him to make me dinner tomorrow night?
Sgam she needs the fountain with constant flow to stop it stagnating it gets hot here
sounds fair to me Herin
Even though he works 50-60 hour weeks i think so to damn it. He could of phoned me
Oh yeah, I guess so hey, it would go stagnate pretty quick I imagine, I was thinking thats going to be pretty pricy, could you use one of those table top decorative fountains...one of our cats drinks that water the whole summer. AND absolutely he should AT least cook you dinner, as I highly doubt an excuse he could use here of stuck in snow, would work well this time of year there!
and he has his mobile phone switched off?
Sgam that is a wonderful idea about the table top decorative fountains.
i must away for shift turnover. Hope all of yall have a lovely day/evening/night :)
Ata he has no mobile
NIght Dc
urf. yes. that is extremely rude. if you're that late, you phone and explain!
take care DC
Ata he is at hes budys place probably forgot the time. Ok my cat is a stoner. She is staring at the wall
doesnt matter. its still rude, and youshould definitely get dinner for it!
Ok will push that one tomorrow
Good "..." dc. Dang, I just realized its just about 4am
Must go to bed....son to work in 3 hours, oops....not good.

hello everyone

oh shoot
sorry
Yes, Ro, on a Sunday. It is a convenience for the parents, and, although I don't like working on Sundays (I do one a month), it makes Mondays less busy.
we have that forcast for later today carlee
*nodding*...thats really great that the service is available..
I haven't gone outside to get my newspaper yet, but it looks like a few inches of snow at least, and it is very windy.
We keep missing the rain
i'm glad ours was overnite nono.... by time people up and going..roads should just be slush...no ice...
are there still probs with water herin?
Oh it FINALLY turns up
and we had our neighbourhood xmas party last nite... so was pretty witht he snow
true carlee
YYes rolin its getting worse
Nice Carlee
The problem, Ro, is that parents demand to be seen rather than understanding that Sunday visits are for urgent problems. It is more convenient for them to come in on Sunday than during the week when both parents work and the kid is in school or at day care.
now I am trying to figure out what to feed the gang for breakfast...
grr..i keep wanting to make adorable
oooh..thanks rolin...i found a word witht htat

nah, too warm . . . but just saw the NYC Xmas tree in the snow on TV--sooooo pretty!
we've done it together the last couple of years--she's as goofy as I am!
thanks Ata found the ma7, still looking for the co7
hey, une, we've got a new spaniel lover on babble, called - eep, what was she called? Pokey71 or something. She has cockers :D
oh, cool!!!
and has the most *adorable* user pic. watch out for her!
*up periscope . . . scanning the horizon*
ok, ata, changed my icon :-)
awwwwww thats *adorable*. there is nothing as adorable as an adorable spaniel looking adorable
LOL so true!!! When I get to her house he comes racing out, nearly knocking me down, 'cause he knows I always bring him rawhide treats!
(and rubs and kisses!)
ok I'll stop now . . . jeez, I'm such a dog freak!
brb
I stil miss my cocker, Misty, who died several years ago. She was so much fun.
awww :) I went to see my dermatologist last week, we talked for about 2 minutes about my skin and about 20 minutes about cockers, cos he'd just been on a training weekend for dogs to pick up birds on shoots. and he'd seen a cocker in full working action for the first time ever. and our conversation kept getting interrupted with "and it *boinged*! and I mean *BOINGED*! and it didn't stop! all day!"
LOL :-D
awww I'm sorry Gail :( I share my cocker with Lizsark whose cocker died a few months ago, you can share her too if you'd like
That would be nice. My border collie passed away last month. I am dogless for the first time in over thirty years.
I lost my sweet girl several years ago as well . . . one of the Humane Assn volunteer coordinators shares her precious black cocker with me . . . her name is . . . wait for it . . . Penny Lane!
oh no. even worse. are you going to get another?
oh, Gail, I'm so sorry . . .
Adopt adopt adopt!!
I never had a dog before Hobbit. Now I truly cant imagine being without one
I will look in the spring. With 18 inches of snow in the forecase, I'm not missing the dog walking.
I haven't been without a dog pretty much my whole life . . .
That should be forecast. I need more coffee.
18 inches--good grief!
new year, new companion. sounds good!
First big storm of the year on it's way. The skiers will be happy.
I remember when we took Hobbit down to Italy in the winter. She's only ever seen snow of an inch or two here. So she boinged straight into a snow drift, and all that was visible were her ears
she was very confused
Misty did the little snowplow thing with her nose. We lived in Northern Michigan and she loved the snow.
She also loved to be buried in piles of leaves and would hide until she couldn't stand it and would jump out.
aaawwwww
aww! darling! what colour was she?
She was buff, mostly, with a little gold.
oh, how pretty
gorgeous! so she could really hide in the leaves :D
She was an old fashioned kind of cocker, and her ears were set a little too high, but so cute.
who cares about such things :D hobbit was given away by her breeder because she had a small white patch on her chest. pffff!
My border collie went to work with me every day at the doctor's office. It's still hard telling people she is gone. The Fed Ex driver had us take a picture of her with him so he could have it. He really loved Queenie.
I can't imagine how empty things must feel now :(
oh, Gail, that is so sweet . . . and that empty feeling is really rough . . .
our local pub / restaurant has a live-in little girl buff cocker. Next time I go, I'll try and get some photos. She's called Ruby
It's amazing what a big space a dog leaves behind. I will find another when the time is right. One more back surgery to be done and then I will start looking around for a dog.
please do, ata
the right dog will find you, gail, at the right time. I firmly believe that
My neighbor has the cutest black and white corgi, I covet that dog. He is adorable.
My neighbor has the cutest black and white corgi, I covet that dog. He is adorable.
ooops
I love corgis, my cousin breeds blue merle ones
This one is black with a white head and black ears and white paws. I never saw one that color before.
there is a huge variety of Pembroke COrgi colours, most of which you never see. The blue ones are stunning, but I've only ever seen them at my cousins. She's got a blue / black spotty one too :)
I have only met two corgis, and they were both so sweet.
Cardigans are snappy little brats - like the ones the Queen has - but pembrokes are generally all adorable and sweet
*and* they can outrun a springer spaniel. in speed and endurance. amazing, eh>
Has anybody ever read Gladys Taber's books about raising cockers?
no - would you recommend them? I've never found any books I enjoy reading about cockers
They are my favorites. She lived in Connecticut and wrote Journals about country life and raising dogs. They are hard to find now, mostly out of print, but easier to find on the computer. She wrote fiction, too, but I love her journals. My son used to live right down the road from her farm in Connecticut.
oh wonderful! *writes the name down*
There is a website about her, do a search for Stillmeadow - that's the name of her farm. You can read excerpts of the books and all about her.
She is the reason I got a cocker, actually.
I got mine rather randomly. But now I don't ever want a different dog
I had a basset hound, too. They are fantastic dogs.
oh they are! my best friend has one :D
He was a total clown. He loved to think up things to make us laugh at him,
they are such funny little things. they look so sad, but are so full of life
He has so much energy, we would have the three boys come over from next door to play with him to wear him out. All you would see was a cloud of dust with arms, legs, ears and a tail coming out.
their tails are wonderful! so long and so "question mark-y"
He would try to be sneaky when he stole the dishtowel or tried to squeeze into the cat's bed. He really thought we couldn't see him.
they do think they are very sneaky, don't they? I think they think they can slip under the radar because they are short lol. unfortunately the wagging floppy tail doesn't help the secreecy
does anyone have a clue for the ma 6/7 pair pls?
Hello Babblers! Gail, I'm so sorry for your loss.. it has been over 9 months since we lost Taz and I still grieve for him.. he made me laugh every day.. we do want another dog as soon as we settle down some..
there's a grid? where?
He would tiptoe, glancing at you out of the corner of his eyes. We would pretend we didn't see this 60 pound oaf in the room, just to see what he was going to do. He liked to steal towels to use as pillows or else he would try to stuff the cat under his chin to sleep on in the sunshine.
Words? There are words?
ha ha ha oh thats quite fabulous!
phand.. we used to play with the little glass balls, trying to accumulate more of them.. such pretty colors
A dog with a cat stuffed under is chin as a cushion? LOL!
ma6/7 - type of stone, used to make Italian palaces and worktops
thank you Aloy.
hi Jac
yvw
Hi, Ata.
The cat didn't think it was funny, but we did.
Do you have a pic of that, Gail?
Probably. In a box somewhere. I didn
Sorry. I didn't get him in the divorce. I got the cocker and the two cats.
sounds like that was done by weight. 1 cocker + 2 cats = 1 basset
Ha. I had bought him for my ex as a birthday gift, so he stayed with him. He was a lot of dog to handle.
how is this for a misspelled phantom - balarina
dog walky time :D back later!
ca7.40: baby taxis, lol

start at the middle c. spell a word that sounds like the color blue, then finish up with your daily vita*** (and then make plural)
drop the consonant on that deep blue color before you take your vits
thanks!!!
Good Sunday morning, Aloy, bbnaz, angelina and Une... thank you for the big ones, bbnaz!

Any time, dear lady!
ca7 - aloy's baby (or small) taxis
ca7 - the number in your food intake with consonant ending

bb i will work on that among others
Hello hurshy et al.

ty hurshy

fm! perfect timing :P
um, i think you misunderstood mlfan. i was saying that asking in here is easier for you, but not for us.
ata but i dont get clues from a dictionary for ths game so then i wouldnt need one for it
it makes more work for people if they have to explain everything, when they are trying to play the game themselves.
why hurshy?
no, not clues. but a dictionary has words in. they may help you understand the clues
I think what they are saying is that you are very hard work
coudl be in some cases yes ata
i am what fm?
ti 5 -- metal and former hurshy home state: alt abbr; then make it past tense
very hard work, I think she said. Use a dictionary

What a weird batch of words today! I just logged back on to get my last dozen or so, and I've needed a2z for every one of them. The 2 th/6's for example--they don't even look plausible as English words. My monkeys look at combos like that with undisguised contempt. (Incidentally, they do happen to be anagrams of each other...)
lol jan, my mokies took one look and left me to it!
thanks ph I wasted way too much time on those
glad that helped
mokies??!
urgh, trust you, I was just thinking I had got away with that.
never!
Just as well the Chief of Police isn't around!
certainly!
Gasp, puff, pant. Made it to 110.
Catching up to you....105 and counting
Fireworks time. Oh, and in the unlikely event that this helps with the anagrammatic th/6's, the first is a Scottish word for small guts, the second a chemical used in vulcanizing rubber. How I've managed all these years without them in my vocabulary I can't imagine.
Slow down, the finish line is a way off *grin* and Im too full of roast lunch to run.
Congrats, jan

Congrats jan
woo hoo, Jan
Thanks, all, for the carefully worded congrats. :-) Any clues needed before I go write up an abstract (due in about three hours!)

I am glad you're here now, leigh!

it dues not snow here.
I've been student teaching at a nearby school, trying to get ready for the rest of my life. I'm there from 7:30 to 2:45 every M-F and then go to work from 3-10 every M-F, work most of the day Saturday, and spend Sunday regaining my strength and sleep.
good for you leigh! *jumping up and down happy*
Thank you. =) It certainly has gone by fast. I'm in my last two weeks!
what is your favorite time of year, Luke?

Wow that is a schedule and a half! good for you.

BabbleR it is quite frustrating, just as you get stuck into a subject you zoom off to another.
I took a course like that forty years ago
no Babble its open university (correspondance)
It's with the Open University, work alone and then meet up for weekly tutorials.
I would love to play it again.. I think the tangleword people are going throught the same withdrawals

hey atalante!
no ata there are rock fish but not the other
just about to play my turns, Ata
*proud of herself* Mama- I'm going to fix my resume up a little, add my student teaching, and then start sending it out. I'll probably start with subbing first though.
BabbleR, was the course you did for personal enjoyment?
fish certainly do rock :)
been reading 1984 again and appreciate big brother thought police and doublespeak so much more in today's political machinations
some do play bass
Hands up al those Marine Biologist or paeleontoligically similar professions?
fossilized fish ARE rocks
LEIGH! HWRE HAVE YO BEEN!
me me ME!
I studied Marine biology
ssorry, hi all , just so glad to see leigh
ruru - I rest my case.
TO! I've been working like crazy. How are you?
no but I have since reread most and enjoyed the experience much more
got me there krsta
Hi, I tothe games.com, where do you type in the words
good for you leigh -- never too early to start getting your name out there... and just from my experience this year, though I don't have a teaching credential, I had been working less than a month in mother's classroom when I was approached to apply for two separate para positions... just being there so they can see what you are like is the key
=)
hi TO
oh darn missed your post so am shot down in flames ... aargh
wow, I'll put that one in my diary, ruru. :)
Ange , do you know?
i am well....
not sure haven't played there yet
Absolutely. I figure it's a great way to get my foot in the door.
there is also hootie and the blowfish, ut they don't rock
Hello TO
enjoyed invertebrate paleontology
what grade do you want to teach leigh?
hi mitch! nice to see you
invert palaeo *shudders* teaching that is not fun
Anywhere between 3rd and 5th, preferrably, but I'm not going to be picky as long as I get a job!
took the course right when plate tectonics was takiong off
Yeah, they kinda don't. My friend is friends with the lead singer and I don't have the heart to tell her I hate them!
teaching wine courses is fun
Being a student on a wine course would be even more fun
i wanted to teach that age, but ended up in kindergarten and love it
I listened to them once and said to myself what is the big deal with them
lol ruru and and fmitch
I was a sub when I was young (20)..the kids ripped me to shreds because I looked their age!
took awhile to get the full grasp of land masses moving around
yes leigh -- and it's good to get experience in many grades. that way you know both what the challenges are in getting kids to the point you are teaching, and the things the kids need in the later grades.
Exactly, ruru.
yeah that is akin to big sis
trying to teach undergrads the differences between types of fossil coral is not an experience I ever care to repeat
I thought you meant you were there when the plates were shifint, Babble R. :)
I think Kindergarten is a great age, but I just don't think I have the patience. I'd love to try!
shifting
OOPS

lalalalalala
no it isn't
hi phand
Ata off to the penalty box with you!!
I was there when god said, "Let there be light!"
need to change the y to an i
lol
lol, BR :)
and thanks for that, Ata
*grumbles* not my fault I had to teach that ....!
I thought you wer... never mind.
atalante! what's the scientific name for those critters?
Okay, so my k key is not working right, which is a key I kinda use a lot, with my real name and all..........so I was thinking, do I get a Mac this time around?
brics
Anthozooids
Ata, I would love to be in that class. We have miocene (I think) era fossil cliffs a few miles from here so I've always loved that kind of thing.
leigh -- didn't you have that problem the LAST time you were on???
Bless you!
ooh. what a cool word! *filing anthozooids away for future* it sounds very "sci-fi"
why not just get a new keyboard? or is this an excuse?
Probably. =)
Because it's a laptop, and that would be a pain in the butt.
Macs are supposed to be wonderful, but they are expensive -- can you get a good discount?
miocene. sea urchins. more sea urchins. LOL
yes indeed
Just 100 off as a student. That's all. =(
drop the keyboard on the floor a few times
we have sea urchins -- and sand dollars -- here. are we living in the miocene?
does anyone here watch QVC? i am wondering about the dell laptops they have today...
that's not a huge discount leigh... *thinking*
I thought sea urchins were surfers?
what about a refurb? those are less expensive but usually work just as well.
hopefully not .... dont think there was babble in the miocene
well babblerabble was there so it must have been
I'll email you some photos sometime and you can tell me what we've got. Not urchins, so I have have the wrong epoch.
was the miocene anything like the disco scene?
Though the fossils at Calvert's Cliffs are miocene.
I heard it is a real good idea to get a refurbished dell. They are guarenteed to work
I was also told recently that dell is the best pc on the market today
krista, iwent there but i had no idea what to look for
LOL babble....
I have a dell now. My last one was a dell too. I love the computer, but the keyboards both failed fairly quickly. This computer is only about 18 months old.
dell is
qvv has 17 in laptop for about 1500 with software and three yr warranty
wireless ready
I'm hoping to make it through to my tax return and then just use that towards a new purchase.
fossels in bell bottoms would be a sight
Shark's teeth are the most obvious. I have a good website for you if you ever go back. Saphyre lives right there.
the disco scene did have some dinosaurs though bbr
yeah, I should be able to tell you something. Especially on the shark's teeth
Dells are great desktops, they really are....but I dunno. I heard support and assistance for Apple is awesome.
feather -- if you're there, facebook is taking FOREVER to load the games. I will try one more time, then take a break. I now have seven games going?!?
i ran hrough two dell laptops at work. and i wan't the only one
I can't believe I used to wear bell bottoms..yikes
Finally, Fireworks!!!
I have a toshiba leigh, the second one for me. Reasonable price, last well. (had extended warranty on both -- needed a new inside with the last one)
YAY FM!
yeah mitch
woo hoo fmitch
congrats fmitch
congrats, FMitch
i never chat, but i have to say that Dell support gave me some of my worst computer experiences ever. i hates them :(
The fossils from my immediate area are just cast/mold fossils in the rock. They're the ones I'm not sure about. That would be great.
I do have four year support on this one. hmmmmm..... But I don't want to have to send my computer out.
It has built-in wireless, a bunch of USB ports, etc. I don't like the overly shiny screen, but apparently that's the "style" this year. And I don't like Vista, but you can get them loaded with XP if you want
thank you thank you, time for a celebratory mug of tea BRB
I don't like Sony myself -- very unhelpful.
ty for sharing that puca. i hvae anold compaq now
got to go see you all good luck..see you at the flip
tea in the DoD?
PS. Yay FM!
dell was sued by the attorney general of New York for false advertising
Haven't done Scrabulous yet today...getting sick of waiting for the fabu upgrade.
DoD = department of defense?
bye ruru, take care
bye ruru!
bye ruru
Ata, he is above such things and refuses point blank .. translates to , is waiting to be washed up from earlier.
Okay, I have a few personal needs to take care of. I shall return in.....seven minutes.
later leigh!
bye leigh
Atalante, do know of an environmental journal, newsletter of magazine that keeps up with climate change?
okay, it finally loaded. NOW I am going to get breakfast. It is only 12:23 here.. LOL
back in a few
We should play a game sometime, Stidmama. BFN
hey all, we had our first snow today - a dusting, but still snow
Yay, TO! We were disappointed, especially the kids. We got sleet. :(
hmmmm. Nature is probably the best. Or Science, over there, just because they are the best generalised journals who would report any major changes with links to further work
Early return! Hahahaha. I'm good like that.
We got about half an inch here.
there will be some specialist climatology journals, though
thanks, I sent that oil grab article to a NY Times opinion columnist hoping he would do a story or two
Is it sticking, leigh? I'd like to look out and see everything all snowy and pretty.
i'll have a think so more though, in case some spark of brilliance appears.
thanks
Science and Nature do a great job keeping up with research on climate change. American Geophysical Union puts out several more specialized publications that cover the topic.
funnily enough, as well, the oil industry journals come up with a lot of interesting things about climate change and how the world is going to work in the future. If I come across any new brilliant articles, I'll scan them for you
hello again.
And does anyone have the E from the top right (next to the W)?
Hi! FYI, Scrabulous is working really well for me today. Strange.
and for me!
It was actually all here and stuck this morning by the time I woke up at 9. I'm hoping that we get a little more tonight.
inge2, that's the es 7
es + coca **** + pirate-sound letter
Marches stidmama off to the penalty box!
thank you stid. I had tried that without the pirate part ;)
what? where? how?
oooo fierce!
checking our forecast...
what did stid do except give a great clue?
There, there stiddy, have a cup of tea
*blush* oh dear.... *sitting in penalty box with chocolate moose, wondering if I should start on his antlers or his hoofs*
She said co4/6
antlers
Actually, I'm surprised this is your first snow, TO.... My aunt in Kunletown got four inches just before Thanksgiving.
LOL
30% chance of snow Wed. Fudge. That's not going to amount to much.
oooh yeas.
next time, I'll use pepsi for the clue...
s'okay, I had it already...I work with the stuff.
Hmpf. I love snow.
sadly enough stid, I didn't get the clue after your faux pas
((stid))
I don't have fo' paws... I have hands and feet! *defiant look*
All the better to eat that moose with.

Anyone seen Haz today?

i need a th6/24 and the ti7
"man struck by lightning faces battery charge" is the weird headline my son just read to me from his funny book...
I have 43 to go, all 4-7 letters.
or this one... "typhoon rips through cemetary. hundreds dead"
go leigh go!
I have 85, one more and I will grab the list
HA! That's a great one. Jay Leno would love that.
Stid, have you achieved your writing target?
"bridge held up by red tape" rofl
"Queen Mary having bottom scraped"
LOL! Love it.
yes FM, on Thursday -- or was it Wednesday?
he doesn't know who Queen Mary is...
Just ralised your icon says it all. Well done!
that's awesome (the QM one)
now he does -- *giggle*
ti7 anyone?
he's a goof
thanks FM. I am proud of myself. :-)
"Have tea, will babble" - hi all - 79 to go... will be diving into the grid "SPLASH"
sorry robo, I don't have that
bon jour montreal!
ti 7 is the past tense of the ti 7 --- a metal and alt abbr for hartford's state
ooh! I just found the heat-unit related CA word. *proud* grabbing list
of the ti 5
thanks, i found it
my daughter (has Aspberger's) learns a lot from joke books..she take things very literally, so it's a good way to teach irony, figures of speech, etc. It gets a little tedious explaining them all tho...
You should be stid, it is quite an achievement. You won't know what to do with yourself now!
Okay. Done with the fours.
Krista, there is a similarity between your child and mine. subtleties of normal discourse are hard to teach.
go leigh go!
pl the ti 5 too
thanks for the ti words!

Yes, shades of gray are hard to come by around here. My favorite quote of hers, when I was explaining that she is a "concrete thinker:" "I don't think about concrete, Mom." LOL!

Byeee leigh

Isn't that great? I thought her counselor would burst when I told her that one.
Stid, what is the writing thing you did?
sorry, just read your profile. Neat!
the nanowrimo is an annual challenge -- write 50,000 words (or more) in one month. Every november. this was my first try. It was hard, and the story isn't worth reading...
LOL
{{{{leigh}}}}

Oh I don't know stid, that snippet on the web made me want to read more.

Evening all. A winter tradition in Denmark, these puffy fried cakes, called Aebleskiver, are generally served with a dusting of sugar and a generous portion of black currant or some other tasty jam.

Hello Babble community.
hi scrabbler!
how's the snow up your way?
hi scrabs!
hey scrabbler
got that CA 6/7 combo! thanks weegee!
We got about 6 inches and there is a snow advisory from tomorrow Am through Tuesday evening.
it's like a small taxi...
hi scrabs
we have high winds here. not sure how long I'll have power. it's really hitting us hard...
hmm. looks like the rain changed back to snow here.
oh great, packed snow, then frozen rain, then more snow. You'll have lots of fun driving around on that, jes!
yvw stid. btw, congrats on the nano win. Wouldn't February be a great month for that, at least for those of us who get snowbound? You've got me thinking of next year.
co 9 please? I have the co 5s before and after...
:-D it would be really cool to set up a babblers nano group...
heh. i'll be fine if the idiots stay out of my way. not that i can count on THAT happening, sadly.
I finally found ca6 and 7--baby taxis. I thought someone said they rhymed with spicy baloney and I was looking for something like capicola, thus cabcola..anyway I have shared too much about my impending brain death from hypothermia
I take back what I said about Scrabulous working smoothly..it's back to its old tricks now. >:(
the spicy baloney is for the ca 6/24
the 6/24 rhymes with italian sausage
yes, scrabulous is really slow and boggy right now
no, scrab, the spicy balony is a different c word :)
it's stuck on my last move with mymuse... :-(
cold cut rhyme is the ca 6/24
On the first two I did, it was really fast. pppfttt
co9 is co then base**l, the take your vit***
Well, I am still confused about what's in the deli.
its working over here on this side of the pond ...
that's supposed to be base***l
scrabbler, the spicy baloney also sounds like the arabic version of solomon... with an italian ending.
it's hung up on my games with you, Ata. Prob all those points you have burning it up. ;)
got if phaeton! perfect clue!
or for co9: ear of maize + pie *** mode + abbrev for 60 seconds
I think it's vitamin B something?
oh poo, krista! bad scrabulous!
Yes, co8 is a vitamin. (B12, if I recall)

ab 6/24?
I really really don't like wind from the south, there is a HUGE tree not twenty feet away (neighbor's land)...
ab 6/24 a + b5
ty!
Scary, Stid.
it usually comes from the west (nice big stand of trees that filters the wind) or the east (nothing to threaten the house)
how many do words are there?
184
there are 6 do words
co 7/44 please?
hi all. How's it today? Figured this was a good way to spend a snowy Sunday afternoon

Big storm on that side of the country
LOL, MLFan...
Rock and roll, Leigh!

Aha, Montreal.
Nevermind. Finished.

hi haz and inge
ahhh order, smorder...

or schmorder* even !
FM tried to do that earlier. She didn't succeed very well
+
to keep order,ATA?
sch-mordor
She tried to keep order? She doesn't have the official backing of the Chiefness of Policeness.
hi Scarlet, Luc, angel, haz, inge..wow, walk away for a while and everyone comes out. :)
Help with the th6's please?
Well, you never part with your uniform, Haz
But she did try ...
thre are two th 6?21 which are anagrams of each other
are we talking about the darn nun's uniform again ???
I'm reading back in the chat log at the minute. I've got to the bit about the usefulness of otherwise of dictionaries.

Were there trolls on then (when she got assertive)?
hi all - what a lazy day - still in PJs, fighting this cough/cold
Not so much a troll as a senior goldie - give me clues and lots of them.
that's ok hazel unless the way they were given...
But I haven't finished reading yet, so who knows what else could have happened.

Good job, guys!
bye all and take care
well, I tried reading back in the log and got totally lost and overwhelmed. Does not work well for me. Bye Angel
more SOrting of the Paws is occurring here
Inge, did you need a clue?
do6/27 please?
no, I finished this morning. Just wanted to catch up on events. But they are not sorted into categories!!!
do 6/27 = can do
oh, ok
inge, we need someone with time on their hands to do that.
thanks phand
Do you know anyone with that qualification?\
No - anyone who babbles has more than enough time taken out of their day.
Sc6 please?
yay people playing bagpipes are outside lol
i'm sure lickety could fit it in in his 3 microseconds of free time a day
And people's editing technique might vary a lot.
im glad they are walking by and not staying in front of my house
sc = points - last letter + w vowels
hah
Cool. I love bagpipes.
that would be 2 vowels
I somehow figured it out, TY, phandd
The queen is wakened by bagpipes every morning. Prince Philip walks up and down the bedroom, the corgis hide their heads and howl.
yw
The first sc5 please?
in my neighborhood they lit up the tree.. so theres alot of commotion outside :)
just snowed today too
I am just NOT seeing words today.
think scarlet letter
Where are you, CArra?
my uncle composed a bagpipes tune for my wedding, he played it as we left the church
connecticut
TY, again, phandmd
oh good I was hoping that would work
That would have been something special, Atalante. I quite like the bagpipes, although they're loud in a confined space.
How bad is the snow, carra? Friend of mine is driving from Boston to NY tomorrow. Anything to?worry aboutr
Scrabbler, it's a nasty grid today.
I want bagpipes at my wedding and reception.
I don't really, but I love that my uncle did such a thing for me
ooops disappeared for awhile - now I'm hear.....
*here
well, get going Scrabbler! Or you will be too old to walk down the aisle
Haha, Inge!
there's always a zimmerframe
But, if----can I be your bridesmaid, Scrab?
i am in no rush--things arejust fine as they are
Or roller skates under voluminous skirts.
Just push her up the aisle.
did Carra leave? I wanted taht weathr report from Fairfield, CT
when will churches get travelator things going up the aisle like they have at Heathrow
The last thing she said was 'connecticut'
Ata, what is a zimmerframe?
a frame around the front of you that you can hold on to while walking
that was a very very bad description
oh, we just call them walkers
I thought it was good!
I knew what you meant, Ata
Inge.. its 29 degrees..with snow on the ground
oh really? ok, I'll be smug then!
The zimmerframe always makes it sound as though it's intended to speed you up.
everything over here has long and complicated names unrelated to their purpose
Time to make salads for the bunnies. Callie is flinging her tin plate around as a means of communicating her desire.
but "zimmer" means room in German, what does that have to do witha waling aid?
Awwww
the letters in this grid are all in the wrong place
I think it was the inventor, Inge.
It's pronounced with a soft z rather than the ts sound of zimmer in German.
not everything relates imediately to German :P
AAAH
you ootch around the room in it :)
Inge, I know a Dr Fenstermacher.
Noun 1. Zimmer frameZimmer frame - a light enclosing framework (trade name Zimmer) with rubber castors or wheels and handles; helps invalids or the handicapped or the aged to walk
window maker
Yes, cool name, but my friend calls him Burgermeister instead.
Zimmer Frame - from Zimmer Holdings, a major manufacturer of such devices and joint replacement parts.
I heard of one lady who refused to use the lift in her care home and who was found crawling up the stairs, zimer frame on back, tortoise like.
I love the name Schwartzkopf..always makes me think of bad skin.
Zimmer was founded in 1927 by Justin O. Zimmer
there :)
Burgermeister Meisterburger!
I knew a Dr Axel Hungelbuehler
A new fact learned. Let's hope it comes up in conversation.
On here, it probably will come up again, Haz! Lol!
probably!
Sorry folks, Nika wanted to go out.
We have an orthopedist here named Dr Bone.
all facts turn up in babble sooner or later
feeling dumb, but can I get a clue for the al4,4?
OK, salads must be made.
the head of the UK Fisheries Association is Dr Herring
never mind - duh
Haz..just read what you wrote about that woman..not sure whether to laugh or cry!
al4/4 - one letter short of al5/12, the noise that gets you up in the morning.
add what sounds like r
We have an orthodontist named Dr. Toothman. Rumor has it he changed his name to that, though.
Her children decided to see the funny side of it and laugh.
I'm nervous about our power - there have been little flickers. It's still snowing -- my birdbath has a tall mushroom cap on it
The German trextbook I used had a vendor lady called Hunnenmörder
this is a very random question - does anyone know if there's a word for fear of not having access to books?
Nobody's paying any attention, but if I disappear without warning you'll know the power is out
ok jilli! roger that!
notabookinsightophobia?
I was paying attention, jillibus, just thinking that you're probably well versed in how to cope.
hello hello
Isn't that funny. I can remember every character in our textbooks. Alois Reiter, Marianne Muller...What does hunnenmorder translate too?
Hello raelite.
hi raelite!!! Are you enjoying our weather?
Was just about to ask you...really...does your power go out a lot in bad weather?
haz, I have a favour to ask of you
murderer of huns
Wow!
oh the weather....it's nasty
but just rain
Okay, you want me to look after a good looking actor?
Not a lot, Krista -- but this is VERY bad weather -- tons of HEAVY snow to break branches and such
The power is out in Astoria, Oregon, and has been for a good few hours already
may i please use spangle in one of my stories?
Absolutely!
oh thank you!
Hobbit won't feel slighted that you don't want her
oh I will if you allow me to
just rain in Victoria raelite??? Not here yet -- waiting hopefully!
the new chapter has some interesting twists
Who's smug now?
*giggles* of course you can if you want
Goodness, Jilli. I am really wanting some snow (we had it in the forecast, but just got sleet), but not like that.
well i live closer to Sidney, Jilli, so we're right by the water...it's been raining for hours
well, I better fix something for supper to go along with the leftover fourbean salad . BBL
spaniels are always smug
Enjoy your dinner, Inge.
That would be fun, raelite, I'd be delighted to have Spangle immortalised.
Bye inge.
lol...spangle is going to be a guide of sorts, and hobbit will be an inn keeper
well, what a difference a bay makes, rae!
bye inge
lol, too true, jilli...my parents are in a much worse situation though
if I ever get a spare moment - ha ha - if you'd ever like a picture of Spangle, I'd love to do one, Haz
She's a very purposeful walker, so that will suit her. Her map-reading needs work, though.
they went north to ladysmith for my mother's birsthday and wound up getting stuck in the snow
That would be great, Atalante!
and Hobbit loves drinking. Though usually only water LOL
they had to abandon the car at the safeway
Spangle likes snow.
hi everyone
Did Spangle pass her driving test first time?
Hello saphyre.
I love drawing spaniels, but I can never bring myself to try and draw Hobbit. So I borrow other people's
why is that, Ata?
I don't know ... I just dont think I could ever portray everything I wanted for her
I think I know what you mean. There are so many facets to a character that you know well that you couldn't capture them all in one portrait?
I'll draw her in many years time. With other people's dogs its easier, because you can only draw what you see and hope its right
my kittys in the snow http://tinyurl.com/2cmnvr
I have my dog in my icon now...his name is Kash
yes - I'd want to draw her happy, and doleful, and sitting up and wiggling all in one picture, and then be horrified if even 1 hair wasn't as I wanted it
http://tinyurl.com/295bo2
If you draw mostly from photographs, I suppose you'll be using the ones that people have chosen as being representative of their pet.
gorgeous babes, carra!
Yes, that makes sense. I can see what you mean.
yes - I do find it hard drawing animals I don't know though. I always want to have an idea of *them*. Photos don't do that perfectly. Drawing unknown animals scares me totally!
thanks atalante
I have Roxie and her pups in my icon - the puppies are 5 days old now

oh dear, it has begun to snow
hey everyone...I need your input. Some of you may recall when I had Babble Icons and Birthday calendars up. I had to discontinue them because the calendars I was using for them stopped being free. Now, I may have found a free place to have the calendars again. is there any interest for me to bring them back?
I think the birthday idea is good Angel
Probably the babble icons would be useful, as people are always looking for where the icon list is kept.
That's lovely, Ata! Angelsong, I like the ideas.
the way it will work is that once I've set up the calendars, I will put a link up on BabAnon for players to access them. it would not be on the reosurce guide.
sounds good Angelsong and thank you for taking the time to do that for all of us
hi all co 9 and 10 please
ok, then, I will start working on them and will have them up as soon as I can.
it may take a bit of time to set them up; it's labor-intensive to begin with, and I have less time than I used to have.
Did you get any snow there today, Saphyre? We were supposed to, but didn't.
it is raining with a bit of ice mixed in Krista
Time to go - night all!
See you tomorrow.

thanks!
I'd love to see pix of your bunnies, Scrabbler.
Bunny Sebastian will stand up and take a snack (CritterBerries) from my hand. Then he runs away with it to hide and eat it.
Krista, I don't know how to do that as I am just figuring out the digital camera stuff.
You might change your mind and want it back (or he doesn't want to share)!
And you have nothing else to do, I know, Scrab. It's ok.
He wants to enjoy it in private and not have anyone take it away. Bunnies are preyed upon so they have that protective instinct.
We finally found cheap Timothy hay for the piggy...(to which I am also allergic, but she needs to eat)..local farmer sells it for 3.00 a bale! What a bargain.
BBS--dinner time for Scrabbler.
My first bunny was preyed upon by something in his hutch..that's why I litter trained the second one.
Are you standing on your hind legs? :)
Great deal, Krista. I order my bunny food, hay/grasses from Oxbow Hay Company.
Yes, I am, Krista, LOL.
Enjoy your dinner. :)
sy 5,16?
or either th 6.24?
Sy5 is the plural of the 4 (90s boy band N'sy**)
the two th6 are anagrams of each other
Have a good night everyone! Bye!

Hey Uniquity, how are you?
I haven't lost power -- been trying to upload a picture of the snow outside but it's too big and I can't figure out how to make it smaller.

hi jilli and Saph
Hey Krista! I'm feeling good, working on Christmas stuff and watching X-Files :)
hey DR how are you
I'd love to see it. You'd need some kind of picture editing program.
I am good.. watching the bears game
hi all who arrived while I was struggling with my elementary photoshop!
thanks for the sy.. how did i miss that since i had the sy5..
I love those black puppies, Saphyre. The white ones are cute, too, but there's something really cute about the black ones.
well these 2 look just like my dog so it will probably be one of these that I keep
Krista, I have 2 of them -- Photoshop Starter edition (which doesn't seem to have a Resize) and the Lumix one which came with my camera and does have a Resize but I can't figure out how to acquire the picture
They are adorable
Glad you got it hawk, i realized my clue was a bit...lazy
In regular photoshop, it's under the IMAGE tab, then IMAGE SIZE. It's probably different in yours. Frustrating, I know.
I use paint shop pro - and it is under image there also
Trouble is, I've done it before but have forgotten how -- grrrr
I'm checking for you, jilli..they have an online help thingy
is there a help file?
Krista, when you say "regular photoshop" do you mean the biggie or Elements?
how can BRAINS not be in the dictionary?
it works smcarrier try again
strange
ty
brainy
When I go to Help it's just an ad for Photoshop Elements, costing over $100
I guess the biggie
oh how helpful! *sarcasm*
Infuriating, ata!
Just checked the help .pdf on the website, and it doesn't say beans about resizing.
could someone clue the "an"s for me plz?
Hi again...clue please for ni6/24?
ni6: sounds like US 5 cent coin
I feel stupid... can't find the co9 and co10... it should be obvious, but it's not to me.

hi, saphyre
co9: co + ***ance (like a tightrope walker) + 1st vowel + co4/5 mine
hi all. Noone addicted? Hmmm. There's another definition for Enable besides the dictionary, huh?

that was my conclusion krista -- time enough to revert to perfectionism later. For now, dirty (two dogs, tow kids, lots of mud and rain) floors and piles of books on every surface is "good enough"
Does anyone have a clue for the ca 7/36 word please
ca 7/36 is "heat unit" related... think of diets and counting ca****es...
