taking a break with 165 words; bbl...
hi, just popping in for a min befor i turn in - two stubborn phantoms: alpaca & catalpa :)
hello Melon!
hi melon
yep, the 4s are about all I can do before I start using the list. though, I do have 45 5's, 10 6's, & 3 7's all on my own. :-)
yep, alpaca keeps getting me, as well as lactate.

how many words on this one?
359
ty! Big one
yup
ca 8
your car needs it
hello jilli and evy1
hi just
200 words all on my own - might have to look for clues now
wtg anike
wow sweet! too tired to find it!
ain't no clues a-comin' yet, anike!
jili, I think it has to do with the brakes on your car.
oops sorry that clue was for ca7
that's it sweet!
drat
oops
What a shame - no clues means I might need to do some work. Have been making Xmas cakes today and don't feel like doing anything else.
well I have a ca 8 and I always thought that was car related but maybe I'm wrong.
the brakes on my car ar ABS, and they make it stop. I believe they have shoes. What else?
aha....thx sweet same thing ca7
if you double the 2nd consonant it becomes an 8
TY ZTink!
Thanks Just, I had the 8 but not the 7!
hey hey
hi blue
yw had the reverse lol so thx to u2
I'm glad it worked out

YAY for Lickety! (More than one reason!)
oh gosh yes i love the browser
still can't grab and bulk add so here I go typing away
thx jilli I will
you may have and I'm sorry but sometimes the chat goes so fast here I'm spinning :)

hi all!
hi MVA
hey mva
hi MVA
popped in as usual, but 359 words ... too many!
hi mva
wow, I love the crowd :) Feels like I never left for sleep. Biggish today... is it fun?
I agree MVA
Hi MVA - people (not me!) do seem to be finding the words quickly
still good to see you, MVA! Have a great day @ work and all *hug*
i can't imagine this will be my first finished grid D:
rehearsal for christmas concert today so not enough time to start!
you never know, blue!
thanks for the encouragement jill
never let the neurotic urge to finish a grid stand in the way of your fun in babbling!
Welcome Blue, I don't think we have met before
vraiment, sprite!
blueruin is a new and very nice addition to our babble crowd
no, i'm pretty new. thanks lynx!(xx)
and i haven't let it bother me yet sprite
blue is pretty, too!
aw thanks!! :D :D
good eve MVA happy babbling - i wont say im over halfway lol
How are you doing, Kiwi?
nice to meet you blue happy babbling
babblers are the nicest of all internet folk
thanks everyone
I think that might be true, ruin! Never have found another community that is so consistently supportive and pleasant.
full of a spring bronchial fluey thing sprite but getting there
nice to meet you too blue...I'm new too not even a week!
(ow, and in ca4 you wondered... I am very neurotic in every way, but I play babble for fun... though I really want to finish each grid, lol)
but you are another very welcome addition, Just1!
thx sprite :)
welcome too Just. Are you one of Jilli's friends?
argh, Kiwi, sorry to hear that. Want some healing vibes your way?
same here, mar
Hello sprite!
Just call me Just or Mar
hi blue and thanks all for your encouragement, but i'll give todays grid a miss! good luck to you all and you are right just 1, these are a very nice bunch of babblers!!!
I like Mar!
I hope so, lynxx, but a new one, lol
bye MVA, have a terrific day. It was nice to have you popping in before work :)
bye MVA - have fun
oh yes please - the sore throat and the raspy cough are killing me lol
sprite, i am also very neurotic. mva, hi and i empathize. have a good day
Mar's what all my friends call me....
aw poor kiwi
consider them being sent, Kiwi!
ttfn mva :)
ty most kindly
bye for now and get better soon kiwi!!
OK, just -- Mar is will be from now on

grumble grumble I want tavern.
so, mar, where did you say you are in Canada?
Montreal.....that's a pix of the skyline at dusk
:-)
hi chic! *hug*
Oh yes, my ex-home, mar -- did we go through thid before? I'm too sleepy to remember
In the summer mind you! lol
Hi Chic!
i always want tavern
hi sprite! this K's for you!
yes we did
Aloha Babblers!
late flip!
LOLLLLL
Hiya Fran!
Hi Fran
sorry -- forgot. Dollard?
hi hi fran
Hi fran
hey Fran! *huggg* Lol ruin, so do I! Lovely word... lovely pl5.
no NDG
Mar, we have a montreal playing babble too :)
hi chic, just1, spritey, jilli!
Hello Fran !!
hi blue!
hi lynxxx!
I know I met him
sprite, can you handle all the Ks today? :-)
gee, got 4 words from fran's p4
never, Fran, never!
oh yes, same as babbler montreal -- have you REALLY met him?
good eve fran happy babbling
Oh no not in person, lol, here babbling!
jilli, sprite, i think you need to refresh, i don't have australia anymore.
hi kiwi!
I should have found a kuchen....
it is terrible... I woke up to the internation DriveSpriteCrazyWithKs-day without even realising it!
i am dying this chat moves so fast
I just refreshed, fran -- lovely wood! Have you got my k9?
*international
I think I might like a kuchen, chic...
chic, i like your icon. yours too jilli!
sprite. what. ks. why. what.
ok... jilli, I will confess... I do like the kilderkin. Even as a word!
this time sprite, we can blame FMitch (for real)
thanx fran thought so Sprite...
oh, ruin: some very evil woman called FMitch suggested that today's icon theme would be things that start with the letter K... because I hate Ks. Can never find them in babble.
blue, it's the icon theme for today. If you're using BabbleExpert, go up to Resources and Icon Themes. There's a new one every day and a list of coming ones and old ones. Fun.
OH
babblers are going to be evil to me all day and there is nothing I can do to stop them!
HAH
omg hahahhahahahhaa
Not evil, sprite -- supplying you with a plethora of Ks for the next gridful.
people are clueing words sometimes, by referring to the K as "the letter sprite hates". Does that give the picture? ;)
sprite, at least dr_g didn't join in the evilness and there are no Ks in the grid today
lol jilli, ok, that is definitely a positive way to look at it! I think I am going to collect them!
that's a great idea!
attagirl, sprite!
lol Fran! Wouldn't that have been wicked, a grid with 2 Ks or something like that.
tell you what... I am going to make a separate folder for the K icons, LOL
di8 - to do with church
hey fran -- I refreshed but Australia won't go away! I see your koa wood when I clisk on it though
i'm k'd.
thanks kiwi! (haven't got it yet, but i know some form of the word is going to work eventually)
TY Kiwi
it won't be too helpful for your babblewords, but the tunes would be calming
thanx kiwi that's only my se6 8..
got it, kiwi -- thanks!
thanks :)
finally got it. *thwack*
eep
en8 - finishes with what you put over a broken part of your body - what my logan gets taken off on thursday finally lol
ok, got them all. Saved in a document even.
thanks kiwi!
thanx kiwi you're on a roll...
wtg, sprite!
thx kiwi still not getting the di8
Hi
not getting any of the biggies yet, lol... too distracted by the Ks!
hi lady
Hi lady
hi infernal!
hi herin!
hi herin - back again, had a power spike and took a few minutes to get back
omg I just realized that there are 9 8's
Mar, I guess you're not churchy enuf!
hey lady!
Hi i thought id say hi
hi herin and wb flosey!
I'm off to lala land. see ya on the other side of the moon!
wb flosey!
night chic!
hi flosey!
HI blue. trying to find a deleted cd as the crappy store had it and refused to sell it as it was without cd cover
good eve herin happy babbling
tell the wizard hi from me, chic, and sweet dreams!
night chic -- I'm off too soon
I'm not...the Menorrah was for real...I know the main way it's written
what cd, lady?
DJ Alligator Project Payback time. Its a dance cd.
I FOUND 8,50
wtg ruin!
whoops, didn't mean to cap
ok, mar -- di + big sea with a consonant in the middle
lol ruin... enthusiams shows!
lol totally sprite
hi all. how many words in today's puzzle?
yoohoo blue!
359 joes
hi Joes, only 359 today. 9 x 8
yoohoo!!!
jeez louise. okay
359
and here i thought i was doing so well finding 144 right off the bat.
well, you are doing well!
i have "alice's restaurant" stuck in my head. where did that come from? anybody else know that song?
actually, Joes, you are doing so well!
phantoms: anything that ends with "ate"
yes ruin, my ex-boyfriend made me listen to it all the time
yep blue. careful, can stay in your head for days
thx jili.
sorry fran, and yeah i'm scared joes
yes -- Arlo Guthrie
thx jilli got the big sea but still ain't happenin'
ruin: no, not me. But for no apparent reason that puts a song from Kayak into my head: Periscope Life.
any help for ae7?
blue, it's not traumatic or anything. :-) it's pretty funny
It's a bit tangled, mar
does it have anything to do with restaurants, sprite?
because this one doesn't
it does... somewhere in the lyrics they are sitting in a restaurant having dinner! That is smart of you!
you can get anything you want...
at alice's restaurant
hmm. rosacea is in puzzle, but not counting as a word. is it a proper noun?
in Alice's Restaurant ... (Arlo Guthrie, as I said)
ae7 starts like the US equivalent of a cosmonaut and ends with took a seat tarzan
rosaceous would be valid
indeed, jill. and i don't think i'm too smart, sprite.
make it plural for the ae8
and...yeah that must have been a strange experience for you, fran
shoot. oh well sprite. thx :)
i tried it too joesd, must be spelled differently
playing babble and keeping up with that chat equals being smart, ruin, LOL
...took a seat tarzan???
...took a seat tarzan???
...took a seat tarzan???
...took a seat tarzan???
...took a seat tarzan???
thanks, fran, for the ae7 78
...took a seat tarzan???
9 o'clock hiccup...
blue, it was a clue for metarzanyoujane. :-)
Fran, off to the sin bin with you!
of all of the phrases it could have repeated a million times
i'm embarassed. that wasn't trolling i swear!
what did i do sprite, what did i do?
lol ruin... at 2 hours after the flip the servers reset or something, or the ranks are recalculated, or whatever. Hiccup time.
Oh dear. My housemate just made the best comment.
you said take a se4, Fran!
nm, blue -- it happens every day/night at this time -- 2:00 am chat time
oops!
ohhhh. took a seat tarzan out loud sounds like tuccasee tarzan. is that how you spell that word?
only way to avoid trolling at that point is not hitting enter :)
oh. well. i said it like fifty times, sprite.
ok, ruin, you can join Fran in the sin bin then. Best pl5 to be, to be honest... cookies and drinks and everything!
sounds delicious!
tarzan, did you get the ae7? since i've been punished for me clue? :-)
well, I'm off to bed -- sleepified.
nighty night jilli!
goodnight jill!
I'm thinking I should go to cause I'm not understanding what you're all talking about
gn jill
no it still makes no sense to me
*hugs jilli* Sweet dreams, beautiful lady
night jilli
poor Mar :( Which part of the chat is unclear to you? We gladly explain.
i guess i'm lucky i can pay r4 attention
lol ask me better what I understood :)
Mar i never know whats going on
that's one of the reasons i like you, lady!
goodness, running out of steam at 171. going to be a long puzzle.
mar -- at 2 am chat time there is often a glitch and things that people enter in chat don't appear so they keep hitting enter or return (PC or Mac) and the entry reappears many times
LOL! Ok... let me see... hiccup time: 2 hours after the flip the chat misbehaves. Sin bin = naughty corner = place you get sent to when you post a grid word into the chat accidentily.
I am a goldfish. Shinny things distract me
brb, we had a really late dinner. have to clean up
thx jilli sprite
i take it drb hasnt arrisen from the grid yet and yelled first??
uh oh...sprite said pl 5,14
i think lardo should be a word. my cat is living proof.
No, kiwi!!! Neither has dart!
haha sin bin for sprite
just got here...real late flip
have fun, dart!
hi dart
hi nana
hi dart
only 359 words
hi dart
hi banna
see its a big one......if you only use 3 letter words...no sin bin lol
hey jill what happened to sleeping
hi mar
hi just hi blue
wow dart is alive lol
hi dart hi banana
I have a habit of telling myself to go to bed and disobeying, blue - lol
hi kiwi
argh, off to the sin bin with me! I am sorry. Hi dart, banana
hi banana
a banana dart is an interesting proposition
hiya kiwi...lots of goings on close to the holidays
hi sprite, enjoy the cookies etc....lol
hi sprite
lol blue -- kinda splat, eh?
lovely cookies! Did you bake them, Kiwi?
brings to mind the banana slice and the cat's behind...
any words use the g?
oh noooooooooo
huh?
oh no not me lol i been a good girl tonite lol
I have none so far, Joes
thx. sprite.
yw Joes
no comparing bananas and cat's behinds pls....lol
now I'm really going -- night all -- *poof*
bye jilli
nice avoidance of the pl word nana
how many words does e1 have?
I am over halfway now
lol did that without even trying
gj sprite.
210
up to 212 but only been here for 20 mins
man, you babblers are crazygood.
i have nothing
hi dart! hi nana!
hi fran!!
207 but here a lot longer
i'm back
hi fran!
slowing down fast tho lol
hey ruru!
uh huh
hey, ru
hi ruru
hi

hi fran and all I have had my head in the grid an no time to chat sorry
have to dig out licks list here soon
no worries ruru
wow Mar!
hey just - you from tangleword?
head desk
pe 8/55 = pe 5/12 + fish
I prob won't get much farther sad to say
yes I am
psssst i have 70 left lol
go Groovy
omg kiwi
yay Kiwi, gooooo!
go kiwi go!!
another tangle refugee....nana and i are also tanglers
wtg Kiwi....you must eatin' them kiwis'...so good for you :)
hi dart. never saw you in there.
i started tangleword after boggle died.
we babblers are really sorry for you that your favo game was killed, but it is great to have you here :)
only had about 40000 games in 6 years lol
ty sprite. nice to be here. : )
ty sprite
thx sprite
ditto sprite
omg just no way i cant stand them lol
right nana?
i'm never going to break 100
lost my record of games during one of the crashes, but I had over 20,000
really? if they're very ripe I can take them (mixed in with other fruit of course!)
you will, ruin, trust me :)
i really like kiwis
I love Kiwis. Both the fruit, the bird and the human!
go blue go.
mine was back to lycos...which died...then to playsite...which now looks dead too
aw thanks joe. RHYME
nope cant eat the fruit i grew up working on my uncles orchard when i was a teenager and got sick of the sight of them lol
dart and Joes, you are strictly forbidden to kill Babble as well!
:)
Both and then 3 things. I apologise.
sheesh sprite. what would i do with my life if babble died?
if you were responsible for its death, that wouldn't be a problem for long, Joes ;)
LOL sprite
this is true. believe me, enough of my favorite games are dead - i don't want any other ones to expire.
I also started playing wordscape on iwin... a d/l'able game...not bad but each game is 20min long
wordscape bores me - too hard for my little brain.
i like to type real fast, not figure out long words.
the ae words are my nemisis (nemises)lol
at least we have a back up possibility here... we might find drG and lickety willing to work out a solution if drG wanted to pull the plug.
thats what i liked about tangle....2 mins/game....one min break.....then next game
I'm not liking Wordsc*** at all
well it takes some getting used to and there are a few strategies to keep in mind
at least it's not a typing contest which tangle in a sense was
NO
dart mouses faster than I can type
speaking of expired, i think my brain is dead. 194 and i see nothing else.
lol
funny, I have the av4/7 and the ca6/21 right after one another... very fitting!
not dead, Joes, it is taking a tiny nap to perform better in a few minutes.
but the huge puzzles...the typers usually win....i can win if less than 150 pts or so
there are some people who are trying to convince iwin or some other site to take it over wherebye players would have to pay a nominal fee
lol sprite, i kicked it and it didn't move.
very agile, aren't you Joes :D
i would pay. really i would
tanglers are addicts...lol they would pay
oh yes indeed. not too bright, but agile, yes indeedy.
I liked the social part of it too
see, so dead i'm repeating myself
they are not that different from babblers, lol
uh huh. just different addictions.
hot diggetty dog.. I finally greyed out a tile
yes for sure that's why I like it here
i'm at 89
yay ruru!
help pls. with the long aes...
go blue
you will all be pleased to know that there are only 12 re words lol
wtg ruin! see? You will break the 100 mark.
i'm trying
it's just when you are finished this puzzle, you have to wait for the next day for a new one....with tangle it was a new one every 2-3 minutes
lol Kiwi
but two of them are re 8
I want 6 more words to make it an even 200 left then I can go to sleep
thx kiwi. i got 2 left
me too just.
i'm trying to get to 100 :(
I know nana but here you can give it a break and come back
ae words: a long time and plural. Then the 4/4 related to space. The long ones are this 4/4 followed by: 7/28: dropped his behind into a chair 8/40: plural of the 7.
let your brain nap even, huh sprite?
I mean 159 left (after 6 more words) not 200
you got it, Joes!
bless you sprite. needed the long ones.
am slowly nearing the finish.
yw :)
why is the ae8 worth so much more
because it is 8 letters. It gets multiplied by more.
ohhhhh duh
lol... want a fish to hit yourself with? We have plenty ;)
hm, the es6/24 - 7/36 almost es6d me.
awesome ty
can someone please tell me if the first couple o' ac words are really obvious? i don't want a clue - yet.
lol sprite. me too for while
then my brain ran real fast
i don't have them yet
the first 4 ac words are totally not obvious, no.
ok, those are the ones i need of course.
they remind me of old greek mythology
ac+very dry
only with an ic
they are hard to find and easy to clue, so let me know if you want help :)
geez I was looking at the wrong ae dumpkopf
ac + ar4!!!!!!
lol mar!
Joes said, he did not want clues yet, guys... :)
I need help with the second ac 7/36
oh
whoops
don't look
sinbin time
sorry!
it's ok. would never've found them on my own.
two more words and i'm going to sleep
try the robot ending, ruru
?????
How are you all
busy finding words, lady, lol
107 to go, and must get to bed, goodnight all
see you in the morning
goodnight
what is sinbin? sounds titillating.
i have nearly found 100. Night flosey
night flose.
ruru: looking like a human is human***. Especially for aliens.
they're cookies there
night Flosey, sleep well
night flosey!
in the sinbin?
the sin bin is the same as the naughty corner or the penalty box: where you need to go after posting a grid word in the chat. Usually filled to the ceiling with goodies.
ahh. i c.
mostly chocolate and used fishes though
thanks for the ac6/24 and ac7/36 peeps
i give up, i'm going to collapse
goodnight, m'dears
at some days we even have a jacuzzi there.
gn blue. sweet dreams
lol
sleep well, ruin! Dream of nice words ;)
i'll try<3
Night Blue

se6/24 is a very old babblet! The inverted form of the name of one of our former babblers. I believe it is a measure of distance in space.
sheesh, no fran, thanks.
my head's up my an4/5. scuse the vulgarity.
not having an4 might get you into serious problems, Joes.

we know it isn't your fault Fran....it is always FMs, she was probably trying to shift the blame
lol, you know i love you sprite, we're just trying to help you over your phobia. ;-)
I am watching Americas next top model. THere is 7inch shoes someone i know used to dance in heels that high
there is no getting over the K phobia. K fear is justifiable, that's why!
do they have a platform infernal?
nope
spike
LOL, i'm sure that's true spritey.
don't say spike. That gets me drooling.
These are truely ankle breaking heels.

joes, it's an adjective form of a division of the Catholic church
i was trying something like that. but can't figure it out.
di + big water, insert an extra consonant as 6th letter.
there you go
phew. grazi again sprite.
No wonder woman have eating issues. This arse hat judge called one of the next top models untoned. IE fat
on that note, adieu all. thanks for help and chat.
bye Joes, enjoyed your company!
bye Joe
likewise. see you soon.
night joes!
does anyone here have a great idea for a very easy, not at all time consuming dinner I can cook tomorrow?
oh wait.... I will be home alone tomorrow!
for how many people?
1 then?
SPrite open a can
yeah, don't bother, I never cook for myself
when i used to housesit for people that was my excuse to cook nice meals for myself.
now, if the kids and husband aren't around i eat popcorn! :-)
I really admire people who cook for themselves. I am hopeless. Even if I do cook for myself alone, I don't eat it.
jilli makes some great meals for one
ah, jilli! Now there is one lady I admire for a lot more than her cooking alone!
I used to cook for my self
We have this great vacuum packed meals (for one maybe 2) now available in some supermarkets...risottos, gourmet soups...just drop the bag in boiling water or the microwave...and OK prices
yay, that sounds great, lynxxx. I think I will take a look for something like that and for once take care of myself mealwise when alone.
I always cook
hi
lol...I'll pardon you because you are still young Infernal
hi asif
Hi Asif
hi Asif
lol lynxxx!
Hey. If you don't cook for yourself you starve
Hi Asif
some one can tell me about this game
??
We simply find words by letters that connect. For a start read the Help just above
YOu have all lost my attention. Victoria secret parade on telly
there is a lot of info on the help page (link at the top of the page) and on Angelsong's Help page (link at bottom of page under Friends of Babble). Welcome to the game, Asif.
enjoy lady
infernal, the whole thing is on youtube, if you like i can send you a link to a playlist with all of segments.
I have about 1 hour of it

HI Sprite
OPPS i meant HI FM
grumble grumble good &%^$ morning to you, FM, and $$#$# tanks for the ##%$@ icon theme!
there is an icon theme today... what is it please?
KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK MRP the more the grumblier
i'm afraid to tell you mrp, sprite might yell at me
((sprite)) at least the only K's will be in iKons and not in the grid! Hi MrP and lynxxxx and FranMag et al
yeah... too bad you couldn't influence that, right FM? :)
k is the icon?? wowser.
oh sprite, the kids are getting their letters soon!
I don't Know, you go to all the trouble of arranging a themem for a friend and all you get is $$#$###%$@ *grin*
my son apologised so much for the spelling mistakes, he tried hard.
as long as it starts K, mrP, you can throw it at me today. FM and Fran have declared today to be international sprite hate day!
lol, I doubt that my son will see the spelling mistakes, mrP! He will be delighted to get the letter though. So will Caya.
I think thats International WHAT Sprite Hates Day
caya has now got a catalogue of smiggle stuff... she will enjoy that!
lynxxx that was really spooky when you went "Hi FM" as I had switched the PC on, got dressed, fetched breakfast and just sat down on front of the screen ... and the first thing I saw was your greeting!!! kkkkkkkkkk
I am sure, mrP! So exciting :D
lynxxx... that too. But exposing me all day to Ks is evil, to say the le5 :)
do you see that small blinking light up in the corner of the room FM?
Hey, nothing wrong with KKKKKKK, K wsa the first letter of my maiden name. I was a K for 25 years!
LOL lynxxx
that explains something, FMitch...
Sprite not that bad at least there isn't 50 k words in the grid
and I'm married to a Ken, and my maiden name was Kaigg...nothing wrong with K!
so I take it this whole icon business is a revenge for all the times I confessed to hating Ks and you taking it personally?
Fiona Klutzer??
oh crap! I just saw how many words today!!!
Gee thanks MrP
most of them are really easy, mrP
thats a really nice K icon too FM, you obviously spent a fair amount of time on it for Sprite
I am not being mean fmitch, I was sure someone on babble said their maiden name was Klutz or Klutzer?? I wondered if it was you :)
Thank you lynxxx, I would have baKed a caKe in the shape of a letter K just for sprite :)) Sorry to disapoint MrP not me.
lol FMitch... now a cake would have been lovely! And it would take me very little time to make it unlike a K!

Good morning everyone
hello Merk
The other day I got disconected and could not say thank you for the help before I left. The day with the xa words. So a belated thanks to anyone who helped me. I'm in the same predicament now and need a di 8 clue please.
di8.50 religious di + word for a sea but insert the plural letter in the 3rd last place
back with a yummy bagel.. hi Merk!
pe7,40 killed me, but i got it
I have only just discovered the delight of cream cheese on toasted bagels - I thought chopped herring was tops but....
ew to both of those, lynx! peanut butter all the way
well, first I smeared a bit of cream cheese, then some slices of sharp cheddar..
cream cheese and smoked salmon for me! hi all :)
hi Ata!
Hi Blkue - TY for that. I had the pe8.55, which is the 7 with an extra vowel b4 the fish
yeah i just figured that out too!
Hi Ata - in the grid again! - and don't forget the ca5.14s with that!
359 words, 4539 points, and FIREWORKS...
YAY ANGELSONG!
Hooray for Angel !!

Hi Uniquity
Hey Lynxx. Just woke up and was tempted by the monster grid :)
my cat is trying to help wrap christmas presents
awwww lovely image ata
lenscap sounds like a nice combo word..
How's Hobbits ear doing?
well actually I just took the lampshade off a bit and she imediately scratched her ear but it didn't start bleeding. woohoooo. so we might have a breakthrough
YAY! Healing might have worked! :)
eww, didn't know that lu4.5 was another term for syphilis..
yay for hobbit!
boo for lu4 :(
i have every pe YES
urf, now silverclaw has got caught up in a bag *sigh*
stg, blue.. am approaching the p's, just finishing the n's
as long as hobbit has a lampshade, would she be receptive to a light bulb?
wtg.. meant that.. must be coffee time again, lol
ahaha i thought "still to go"
receptive can be quite hard for her LOL
(-: good thinking!
oh my gosh
my uncle, who raises beagles, used to have a beagle that ate everything
and
it ate a lightbulb
omg!
ack!
the doctor said it was an iron deficiency LOL
Oh shucks, I got called away. Did anyone give a clue for the di 8 while I was gone?
any harm done?
Blue used a word, ha ha
not a thing
oh no i did! it was the heat of the moment
you'll have to compare dogs eating things stories with lizsark
di8 is di + word for sea with the plural letter added in 3rd last place
i haven't met her yet
she has a dog who eats everything
We had a smooth haired foxie that had a liking for balloons , also once a needle complete with cotton. All passed through!
oh wow. the foxie with the colon of steel
ty, it's sounds catholic
di8? it is
There are so many words today, it's hard not to use one in the heat of the moment. Thanks for the di 8.
it is, Merk.. means bishop
agreed, merk
yw Merk
My cats are fond of balloons..after every birthday, their little box is pink and blue all over
dr 5 ... why do little ones seem hard to find sometimes?
worker bee, Merk
dr - really boring lectureres ten to dr*** on
how did i not put that in earlier
duh, kept going the wrong way ... a tendancy of mine.
ty for keeping my brain going
that's 5 12 what's 5 14?
...i'm sure i can find it
curtain?
dr5.14s are curtain or the way fabric hangs
I dunno. Just started a short bit ago, and sometimes pick up words just before people ask for them
dr5/14 - another word for curtain
hey thanks ragalla
phew. sily's stopped trying to help
all tired out, Ata?
no! she gone off to have a complete mad spell chasing a feather

back to work some more on this beast
i see it too, jwr.. lots of phantoms in this grid!
you know you play babble too much when (like I did) you are driving down the road and suddenly think "is alpaca in the grid?"
wow, 359 words, no thank you!
LOL, Ata
only if you have your laptop with you whilst driving
oh that's so dangerous ata. You shouldn't grid and drive at the same time.
aw, c'mon bfsog.. don't be chicken.. dive in and find some!
finally, a big one!
pa4.6/5.14 fdjsalfkdjsalfkjdsa
howdy, Inge2
Hi Inge
don't
don't exist
i need waffles
Hi Lynxxx, Aloy and buds
pa5.14 makes a deal w. someone and pa4.6 drop the english drink
the other pa4&5 set is the phantom animal without the start!
359!!!!!!!!!!! don't they know we have Christmas shopping to do!!
hiya every1
the good thing, katieW... this is not an unfriendly monster.. it is quite doable!
hello, jct123
good morning!
hello lol xx
Morning as and jct
morning asgreen
haha
On that advice I've dived right in Aloy :-)
Hi katie, jct & asgreen
that's the spirit, katieW! hello to asgreen!
ok, do I dive in and just find words? or use a system (tackle it one letter at a time)!
what when where why how ???
"have tea...will babble" - will dive in directly into this monster ...
oooh, that ght with no i? bummer! :)
goodmorning Mont
whatever works, asgreen!
I just start finding words, green, but I think some go at itsystematically
I'm glad you have tea again Montreal...I was worried!
i do a system.. probably most Babblers do?
"temporary interruption in supplies" hi lyn and Uni !
hi
hello
hi abi and jct
helo bitche
my system is to frantically waggle the fingers and hope that words will just spill out...........
I find all the words I can in a radom way then work more systematically through the letters from top left to bottom right, then go to the list!!
quite orderly BB ...lol
what the ....
I usu do a bunch then settle in letter by letter - but with so many words, I thought I was wondering...
what ya real name montreal13
oops, I mean, I was just wondering (not thought)
Oh no....Are we on a code of some colour here?
i see tinges appearing, Uniquity
whatever do you mean Uni?
afraid so Uni...
Checked the scanners and noted strange behaviours...:)
so, I was trying to use Lickety's yesterday to drag words over - can someone tell me how to do that? after I type in a list, what next?
"diving back in"
are you using Beta V11, asgreen?
Asgreenblatt...did you emaill Lickety to get babbleExpert?
I use the expert asgreen. and not only that, i do the words here and then send it to Lickety so I haven't figured out the reverse.
no - ??? I've paid to be a full memeber
it doesn't cost asgreen
email Lickety.. he has developed a great program! He will send it to you..
Asgreen - Lickety is quite seperate to Babble, as a favor for his wife and happily the rest of us he provides the list and BabbleExpert
the email address is at the bottom of his page
Babble expert is the most hopeful tool I have found for babble yet
Mrpresident is Lickety's better half
ok, so I email lickety - is that on his list page? his email address. Oh yeah, I paid for the upgrade...that's what I did - it was so long ago and then I went (to borrow a phrase) on babbatical for a bit - now I'm back)
lol, babbatical!
LOL
his email is at the lower right hand column. he will send you the version to download and then you will get the beta12 version plus see the videos!
ok - I see the address - will do - sorry to bother!
not a bother at all
a babbatical...that's painful...
np... glad you asked!
halfway...
bbnaz - Use the Lickety Add Button on the top of Expert. If you enter into this box you will update babble and Licketys List at the same time
babbatical...I like it. nice
OK, emailed, now I'll try to work a bit (on the puzzle that is!)
done, done done! must get going, but have time for a couple of clues if anyone so wishes..
pl
I can't take credit for babbatical - read it here last week - loved it!
yay Aloy!!
wtg Aloy !!
YAY Aloy!
Congrats Aloy !

I Love sushi
you are funny Eva
tx eva
i am? wow, i wasnt even trying to be...lol
long story but my best friend and her brother were going to montreal to see a baseball game. at the border the french speaking guards were slower than the two of them wanted so her little brother kept calling them "jacque du mer" after they went through she asked him what he was saying and he thought he was calling them merde du tete (excuse my fracturing of the language). so ever since, jacque du mer is an insult for us.
hah, i KNOW what merde du tete means!
she about drove off the road when she told him that he as calling them "Jack of the Sea"
*was
okay, bbnz
back to babbling
well i don't Eva !! - merde is the typical french (France) "swear" word...
see, i wasnt lying about jacques of the sea! :)
marde is french for SH** and tete is french for head. :)
i know THAT Eva... but the 2 words within the same expression, never heard before !
maybe its not common in french, but SH**head is common in english...hehe
ruddy americans once again twisting languages to suit their needs! :~)
aahhhhh yesss.... (bye the way, marde is a Quebec deformation of the french merde...
okay, found 190 on my first go round, bbl
good onya!
I am three shy of that number
i took un petit peu de francais back in high school and college, but i dont remember much... but i DO remember that our teacher taught us Merde...heh
now why would the teacher make sure you guys learn that "bad" word ??? ...
probably the only way to get us at all interested...heh... plus, i believe he was the "cool" teacher...
our favorite phrase that year was "merde! et merde encore!"
ahhh now it all makes sense...lol
yknow, now that i think about it, i think that may have been way back in middle school...heh
more than 50 years ago then Eva ?
hah, considering im not even 30 yet. ;) (i do make it sound SO long ago, dont i?)
just kidding of course... but you did make it sound like it was a long time ago...lol
good evening, all!

Bonjour mon amis!
{{{scarlet}}}
bueno hola!
hi bbnaz
{{{Annie}}}
morning scarlet and annie
hi scarlet
bonjour scarlet mon amie ! - isn't that Stephen Hawkins in your icon pic ?
Good morning, flosey, ardilla! HI, {{Luc}}} Yes, Dr. Hawking is my living icon!
have you read his "A brief history of time" ?
yah, 270 to go!
Only about two dozen times, Luc... this man made me love science even more than I had as a younger person... I love his spirituality. :-)
you and me both scarlet !
This is a wonderful grid to see on a foggy, damp day...
okay I am now seriously dizzy after monkeying that silly en8 word.
LOL... oh, Lucien, he literally changed my life... as well as Ayn Rand... to whom I owe more than can be covered in a chatline.
HI, bbnz...lovely present to see this morning!
read 3 of Ayn Rand's books...loved all 3 of them
any clue for en8?
dont have it ardilla
nor do I, sorry
en8 to finish + circle + what you place on a broken limb
but I do have my first coffee of the day - hopefully that will help clear this head
I first read Atlas Shrugged when I was ten, then again at 15, etc... Then, the Fountainhead... she absolutely impacted who I am today... I still read her masterpieces every three or fours years, and understand more as I age.
thanks, bb
must confess that I read very little fiction
ty bb, good clue
Can anyone help with the un 7/36 - it's my last word and i need to go to bed
Atlas shugged ranks in my top-5 all-time books scarlet...
to release your doggie from his tether
anike that was for you
bbnaz, so much of what Rand wrote in Atlas Shrugged, is happening today, i.e.: the government, infrastructure, etc. Likewise, Luc... it is my top book... that's why I revisit it periodically... It is new every time...
no doubt Scarlet but I love non-fiction.
have read The Fountainhead though back in the ice ages.
it might be classified as "fiction" but rarely a book has been so profound in its meaning and ways to see the world...
Integrity vs power... a classic
ty bbnaz! fireworks - I looked for that earlier but forgot about the n below - was trying to go the other direction. Silly me
wtg anike !!
Every so often I will go on a fictional reading binge however.
good onya Anike. Now go to bed
Exactly, Luc... and the profundity is more astonishing as I become a little wiser and realize how very little I do know.
Yahoo for Anike~~
thanks bbnaz
congrats anike
Actually much of non-fiction reads like fiction
Nite all
right on scarlet... - i NEVER read a book a 2nd time... i may make an exception for one of hers...
gn anike
gn anike - sweet dreams !
Fiction/non-fiction... if it's a book, I'll dive in... LOL
clue for ae8
WTG Anike, goodnight now
History major in university here........
or ae7 pls?
so reading about history is what i love to do
the events and people who shaped where we are today
same here scarlet - reading 2 books now - one non-fiction about the changes in Chinese society in last 10 years and a light and somewhat humourus detective story...
ae - in the sky + abbreviation for fully soaked
I love ancient history, bbnaz.. Greek, Roman, the very foundations of goverment and philosophical thought...
100 words down...
history is always fascinating reading - what i know about history, i learned thru reading...certainly not thru schools...
i must admit to some guilty pleasure reading though...tolkien, rowling, baum...to name a few
sorry bbnaz, i don't get it :)
I am revisiting some old Robert A. Heinlein and anything by Isaac Izamov... my other loves...
steinbeck, hemingway...i do go through periods of fiction reading
okay ardilla ae + hook letter + circle + snake + preposition for where you are
then make plural
Hello all, back to find my last 169 :-)
Some authors make my hair stand on end by their obvious self-indulgence... writing to impress, rather than a cohesive, well-crafted work... Hi, {{{peri-kins}}}
hi peri
ae -- another spelling for air + spys use a ***ellite image to look at the enemy
thank you very much, bbnaz!!!
I could use some CA clues pls CA 6/21 7/36 pair and CA 6/24 CA 8/50
another gray and dreary day here
hi phandmd
hi phandmd hi peri
same here peri, whereabouts are you?
S/F was a former "love"... but, aside from the Dan Simmons Hyperion series, i haven't read much S/F in the last few years... it's true that i devoured the whole genre as a youth...
PA
Hello Ardilla
and you phan
southeastern PA
just north of me then
ca -- roman emperor ca7 - measuring instrument ca6 - bad spelling for leader of ship
I love the true scientists, such as Izamov... who knew exactly what he was writing... his I, Robot series is also dead-on...
diving back in now
Azimov... sorry, Luc... no coffee yet! :-)
well. it's Asimov anyway - we'll let you go this time on account of you being coffee-less...
oh...that CA7 is just a different spelling from the CA8
*muchas gracias*
thank you so much that takes care of the CA's which was giving me fits. bbl to get last 74
true scarlet - Asimov and Sagan come to mind...
Carl Sagan has a special section on my book shelf! :-)
am not surprised scarlet :)
*giggle* You are getting to know me well, Luc!

But, of course, montie! Into the grid I go... if not up for air in two hours, send out the RCMP..
although when it was a bootleg it really was the harbinger of rock n roll Christmas........
found the di8 by myself, just needed to figure out how to spell it

*splash-less dive*
9.2 scarlet...
I am impressed Scarlet
!!

OH, peri... thank you, dear! Now, I am in!
My favorite genius, Dr. Stephen Hawking, peri...

BTW did you know that I am in the grid
You are the FEMALE favorite genius, dear! LOL
what does everyone want for the 25th
AWWWW, thanks Scarlet
Peace on Earth, bfsog... but, I will continue dreaming...
end to global warming
*hugs to peri*
Has anyone else noticed that whenever you check your answer machine, Stephen Hawking's voice is always on there?
Not until you told me, pe4/5!!
good one MM !
LOL, movie... I remember his cameo role on, was it, ST: TNG... playing spatial chess with other geniuses through time...
I think most people know I am in the grid now
"i only wish good health to all"... the rest seems too hard to come bye...
by* that is
And he has appeared in The Simpsons and Futurama
I need nothing... I may work at the homeless shelter and the food kitchen on Christmas morning... they have absolutely nothing... and I love them... have learned so much from them...
Good morning/afternoon all.
HI there Haz
see in the grid, if i use up a letter (as in that letter is not inany other words) does the letter become greyed out or similar?
hi haz
hiya haz

Good night, ardilla. Sleep well!
thanks for the help
ata...which version of her a word do you use...line or herd?
herd
yeah..thats what i figured...
didnt see much of the indy game but they are a strong team to say the least
how many more times am i going to type cardio and nascar
I like the boinginess
I was able to do so much "busy" work as I watched... man oh man, that New England team is jaw-droppingly excellent..
they looked much better yesterday than against the ravens
my steed's name is in the puzzle
Yep... and the defensive coordinator I was complaining about, must have kicked some tushies, because they were much tighter... and the offensive line was much more disciplined...
What is it, bbnaz?\
i can see that its a lot more accessible to letters...but find it hard to process...but i tried it..then went back to line..and didnt like the restriction of the lines..lol..so i guess im just gonna have to practice..
you just have to almost look through the moving about, if that makes any kind of sense
ok - off for a bit again - I'm only 125 in - this is slow going for me! but I have to go do my errands etc.
cose
cose

sorry just looked up

us
Jacula -- if you see this, I miss your flickr photos for what its worth.
bbnaz - I can't get them back. Babble won't seem to accept my username.
If my username is the same as my screen name on Flickr, that is.
well just so you know, I noticed that they were gone.
Thanks, bb. I didn't know they were gone until FMitch pointed it out to me.
hello everyone! jac and bbnaz, your icon pics are beautiful
Hi, deb. Thank you.
does anyone have a clue for pe8 please?
sorry flosey, don't have that one
thanks deb!
If you have pe7/40 (combination of veg and fish) add an extra vowel
Or, add the fish to the preceding pe5/12
yes, have that, thanks Haz
oh what a lovely word!
You're welcome.
got it, thanks Haz
95 to go
63 left here and I'm still resisting the list.
Bless you...I have no list here and 200 left lol

I'd better get back to cleaning the bathroom. BBL.

Whew! The power is off a few streets up, but I got home to discover I can still babble! Thank heavens!
phew!
looks to be p, r & s words left for me
still have 3 8words lurking out there
Hello Uniquity - welcome to civilisation!
Can't get any money from the bank like I intended, but I passed in my paper and I can do the monster grid now while I study. Wahoo!
how many total today? When I see how many words people have left, I'm guessing this is a monster.
359
359...It's great!
Yahoo for Uni!! I knew you could do it!!
It's big in terms of size, but is benign.
Hey Ata, Haz and Scarlet
that's what I was afraid of. OK, 204 to go.
Congratulations on passing your paper, Uni.
Haz, I am trying to make the reddish skin condition... is it hopeless, or do I keep stabbing at it?
It's hopeless, Scarlet.
The ro words end with the flower.
Thank you! On to other words, then!
Haz, you're describing me: a 6'3" 243 lb. social worker. Big and benign.
how's the hopefully-not-so-injured one?
I hadn't intended to, pete, but you sound like someone who could befriend people nicely!
hi
Atalante - slight complication in that we now think there is a bit of infection in the paw. Antiobiotics now as well!
oh no! poor darling!
it's what I do.
What happened to Spangle?
Ohhhh, what happened to our favorite mascot, Haz?
Antiobiotics? Sounds like an irish version Anti O'Biotics.
ERM U GEEKS
It all began on Thursday morning when she lurched out of her kennel, holding up a paw and looking pathetic.
(Of course, SilverClaw is our feline mascot) I don't want Ata to feel left out... LOL
goodness why go through the trouble for such erudite expletives?
NO 1 CARES HAZ
She was given cortisone, painkillers etc, but it's now apparent that her paw is puffy as well, so the big guns are out now.
bbnaz... it seems to be a cautionary flag at this point...
phantom word: lesion.
abi, I can guarantee you you're drastically mistaken. And unwelcome from what I saw this morning.
Oh, dear Spangle...
Poor pup...animals re great at looking pathetic
poor spangle :( did she tread on a thorn or something?
So, she's stil not really putting her weight properly on the paw, but hopefully things will get sorted out.
There's no apparent injury to the pad or anything, so it's a bit of a mystery.
I cannot stand to see our animals hurting...
Can an insect sting in between the pads, Haz?
like Hobbit's ear ... just there somehow
We probably wouldn't have any insects around at this stage of the year to do any stinging damage. Spangle is the only one who knows, and she's not telling.
How is your wonderful Hobbit now, Ata... lampshade off and no more scratching?
at least she has her own personal physician
LOL, Ata..
clue for ca6/21 please?
She does, Ata, even if he does make jokes about Euthatol.
lampshade half on ad half off. Off until she scratches enough that the skin starts getting red, then lampshade on for a bit
ca6/21 - Julius or Augustus spring to mind
yes! BAD Mr Haz
ca 6 Julius
thanks bichon
and Haz
You're welcome, flosey.
That is diabolically brilliant, Haz... the Euthatol... very funny.
It's the name of the drug, Scarelt. He was drawing up cortisone, I asked what it was, he claimed it was Euthatol.....
LOL...
I would not yet have forgiven him for that! I would wait till you make a sauce he doesn't know what's in it, and when he asks, say Euthatol
*snort*
I can't type today. Scarlet, that's your name, not that other aberration.
99 left bbl to finish
i thought Scarelt was quite....erm....lyrical
I'll bear it in mind, Atalante.
Spriongs into the log, Good afternoon all.
Tis all right, Haz... we are concentrating on other, more important matters now... LOL, bbnaz.
Hello, hello FMitch.
hi FM!
FMitch... on the wings of Mercury..
Fresh from the clutches of the love god?
Hi Haz, Ata, Scarlet, bbnaz et al
wow, big puzzle today! Hello everyone!
thanks Haz, I just spewed all over not only the monitor but the keyboard also
Hello NIamh.
lol I lent the God of love to a fellow babbler but can't remember who now :(
hullo FM and Niamh
Hi, Niamh... how is your new puppy?
Fickle fellow that god of love...
I think I warrant a warning to all babblers, don't drink coffee when Haz is about.
she's doing very well thank you, we had no accidents in the house this weekend!
Say what you like, puppies get housetrained a whole lot quicker than babies.
I second that with a big hearty grin!
Awww... she has captured your heart for certain, Niamh...
No kidding. You should have seen the look on Clara's face when I rubbed her nose in her diaper those many years ago
*double snort*
Ata, am chuckling away at Cat in a bag in a bag, in yr flikr pics.
and the neighbors really look askance when you throw them outside when they are naughty......
Just wait until she tells that story against you. 'What is your earliest memory?'
Niamh did you decide on a name for the pup yet?
It's always the mother's fault...
heh! I have plenty of ammo to volley back with.
silly Sily! I've got some more to put up as well. Variations on a theme
and a vid - I'll give you the link on yahoo
"emerging from grid and saluting all...and quitting (for now) with 70 to go" - happy babbling - "POOF"
Bye montreal (he made a quick exit, didn't he?)
In a flash!
true hazel...am usually slower while exiting...
Guilty conscience?
'Bye, montreal!
Or are you trying to shake off the shadowing nu4/5?
bye luc

does anyone have a clue for as7 please?
Yay, monty's following todays K theme
More important people than us? Are you offended, FMitch?

How can she be, Haz... it's her fault that he went into the wind...

Bye montreal!
thanks Haz - what a strange word

and flosey
Isn't it? Glad to help.
actually, that was one of my first words *smug*
and earlier there was Hello Kitty in a kimono (can't remember who had that)
I note the smugness.
Lunch is calling... see you all later.
LOL bbnaz
my cat is smug too. http://tinyurl.com/398s3q
bye for now Scarlet
See you later, Scarlet.
Haz Im worried about Scarlet, she thinks her food speaks!
You always make me laugh, FM... *poof*
I'm debating about the k icon. I'm waiting for inspiration.
spangle is a kanine
Who sleeps in a kennel.
ac7/36 - the second one please?
ac7/36 has the robotic type ending, beginning in the same way as the first ac7
thanks Haz
We Kould always talK with Ks where ever possible instead

You're welcome, flosey.
Good afternoon all.........
Good afternoon, caitlyn.
I say the teperature is dropping here, think I had better pop the heating on BRB. Afternoon caitlyn.
40 left and time for lunch bbl
I was watching a video of hobbit Ata, and found myself shocked at your voice...I discovered that despite knowing where other babblers are from, I imagine them all speaking with a boring American accent (no offence to Americans)
See you Nono.
speaking of no accidents, she gave me the sign and I had to run there for a minute.. we're back now
LOL Uni, I know that feeling! I always imagine all Americans speaking with a normal boring English accent!
You always think that everyone else has an accent!
I'm trying to imagine everyone as they normally speak. It's very difficult! Even when I use my fake British accent...which I tend to use way too much
Haz has probably got the nicest accent, coming from Northern Ireland. Unless she sounds like she's an IRA hitwoman
lol Uni
Fireworks !!! didn't think I'd get this one done - very busy day now
The problem is that there are so many variations on a 'British' accent.
Ah yes, I've got a voice like an assassin's!
congrats flosey!
Congratulations flosey!
She sounds like Ian Paisley Ata. Only joking, Haz has a lovely soft accent.
YAY Flosey! A canadian accent, I can imagine that in my sleep :)
I had a great laugh today I had ordered a C.D from Amazon of Paul Potts (Britians got talent winner)I thought it wasa long time coming ..it came today from Argentina .. Congrats flosey!!
*imagines an Ian Paisley accent on the Chief of POlice*
and there are many canadian accents too
Congrats flosey
My stepfather who is from NS lived in BC for a while and was tortured for his accent. Apparently we turn car into a 2-3 syllable word somehow
Yes, chief of police needs no megaphone.
Ian Paisley's voice could raise the dead
He's not as loud now as he used to be, though. He's mellowed.
I had to call for tech support and had one terrible time understanding the accent of a new canadian and felt terrible having to ask him to repeat
The C.o.P needs no voice, she just stands there and give you "that look" worse than being back at school
he was so patient and helpful
must run now, thanks for all the great clues
See Ata, she is doing it now, can't you feel it?
Yes, a look is very effective. ALthough some of my sternest looks have been wasted because some people haven't seen them!
I'm blithely ignoring it
woot woot for Flosey!
see you an hour or so after flip
Bye flosey, have a good day.
bye flosey, have a good day
Bye flosey
49 to go.......
Oh my!! now I've seen everything. UK ladies, do you remember the young girls mag called Jackie?
Indeed I do.
Yes
y have brought out a 3CD album with all the hits of the time
What sort of names are on it?
Just showed the Bay City Rollers, v young David Essex etc!
totally before my time :P
David Essex was very handsome. The Bay City Rollers were...... Scottish.
Pokes Ata
You missed out on the Bay City Rollers?
No wonder you're smug.
only by a few years, but yes
Ah the younger generation today, sheesh.
Dear goodness, I've had a thought. They'll not reunite?
well I was born in 1974, were they around then?
I can't bear the thought of 40/50 something women pouring themselves into tartan trousers to attend concerts.
Im trying to remember what year we are talking about
Their heyday was in the early 70's.
You are just a baby Ata
Oh No Haz please no, what a thought!
The first music I remember was Queen adn T-rex - my mother's records from when I was a babe
And not even full length trousers. Half mast ones worn with platform boots.
didnt they have tartan floppy caps too?
It was the era that taste forgot.
hi everybody
It it was tartan, Atalante, they had it.
Hi Marjetta
why isn't catapiller a word?!? LOL
Hi Caitlyn
hello Marjetta
because its caterpillar
hello Niamh
A catapiller is a patented device for giving medicine to a feline.
You can find it on Amazon £11.95 and it comes with a booket with interviews, gossip and 'Cathy & Claire@
hi all!
Hi TO!!
LOL Haz, Hi TO
nice one Haz, but does it actually work?
hello TO
Brava, Haz!!!
So catapiller might well have either a capital letter or be a brand name.
Hello TO.
hello TO
Well, I haven't invented the catapiller yet, but I'm sure it would be great..... Atalante could do the drawings.
sounds good to me Haz
Was Cathy and CLaire the agony column, FMitch?
...and I bet the average cat would find a way to NOT use it...
does the catapillar come with a tot of brandy for the person administering it?
Sorry was distracted there by the fact you get 2 posters as well. Yes they were Haz.
and bandaids... it should come with those too
It comes with a pair of gauntlets attached.
Phone
i keep seeing :ipecac" in this grid
I think the catapiller should come with multiple hands each capable of doing something to restrain the cat, to reassure the cat and to get the pill down the cat's throat.
haz just make it robotic.
thats the deluxe model
That sounds like any woman Haz!
that's a very good idea Haz
My thinking exactly, TO.
How much would anyone pay for such a device? (I'm working on my pitch for Dragon's Den)
does anyone have a clue for the pa 5/12 5/21 combination? I cannot find it for the life of me. Please and thank you.
£27.95 then you can have a good profit margin
pa5/12 - a variation of spelling for a hymn of praise, inge.
p plus a very long time, then plural for pa6/21
That sounds expensive, but then a catapiller is for life, not just for Christmas.
okay, anybody have any idea what the RE8 is?
exactly. and reduces stress *dramatically*
you can probably link it to a decrease in heart attacks in cat owners
oops, I got that one . I need the one after the pa****knife
bbnaz, plural of the put back what you've used
re8 - either rises up again or gets something different
thank you i swear i was ready to throw myself under the catapiller
ooo, don't have the rises up again *looking*
pa5/12 - add a vowel to the end of the pa4/5 before it and then plural it, inge.
I had a catepiller once in a big jar and it cocooned and bacame a butterfly. Facinating to watch as a 7 yr old.
clue please for the final pa 5,12
And did you have a releasing ceremony?
ty Niamh, I had that one, it was Haz's that I was missing
Just clued below, Merk - add a vowel, then plural for pa6/21.
Yes and it landed on my head, paused and then flew off
tx Haz, got them both now. that is the one Haz just clued for me FMitch
How nice! How long did the whole cocoon process take?
You're welcome, inge.
pa 5, 12 please ... the one after 'to peel'
kiss kiss beso beso bisou bisou
afternoon babblers!
Hi inge, I wasn't cluing but chatting.
Merk, add a vowel to the peel, then plural it for pa6/21
Hello Eva
Hello EvaNadine!
Need only 2 moe words, but I better go watre exercising first. BBL
Hi Eva
how is everyone today?
hi EvaN and any others who came in while i was away
only the s words to go!
i think i can finish this grid thanks to all of you
By the way, I'm going to repeat a thank you that I gave this morning. On that day with the long xa words, you gave me wonderful clues while I was traveling. I lost my connection and never was able to say Thank You. You are quite the group!
hi evaN
I'm well, Eva, this is a nice grid today.
I can't remember Haz but it was quite a while, heads towards google.
Sorry, Mitch, I meant Merk. Now I am out of here. *poof*
Bye inge.
i worked on the grid earlier, but ive been busy with work and "real life" since then...heh (no fair that they always get in the way of babbling!!)
Bye inge
You're very dedicated to babble while travelling, Merk. If I tried that I'd be ill with nausea.
Well, good that you get the chance to forget about work and real life for another little while, Eva.
definitely haz, thankyou! :)
Speaking of which, I'd better rescue the laundry that's refusing to dry outdoors. Back shortly.
TTFN Haz

Do you know how hard it is to huff and laugh at the same time!
i will bet you a dollar to a donut that not all of them have posh accents otherwise Higgins would not have had his eliza...........
LOL bbnaz.. And look like movie stars too!
You can talk - all Americans live in American movie sets!
Don't be silly Haz, they are either cowboys or gangesters everyone knows that.
besides the beeb accent gets old now doesn't it?
Haz, i live in the deserts of the southwest and when I was a girl in school, folks really believed that the cowboys rode their horses everywhere.
yes. many of us live on ranches or in places with palm trees..the other like myself live regally on the histrocis east coast like in philadelphia
Received pronounciation is no longer required for the BBC. Regional accents are acceptable, though some are more acceptable than others.
shoot the boss is out and i have just been delegated a meeting in 5 minutes
hey y'all can just read the phone book or count to a million, i am happy to listen
Perhpas we could suggest that to Nutty for a babblecast lol

Go bbnaz Go!!
heck that is on my blind side. really, no kidding.
re5/10 - re plus the beginning of Hobbit's owner (the one who's just come back) and plural
hobbits owner???
Scots would pronounce the endings of words also, but there would be variations within England.
tx for coming back ata - got two words
Yes, ursh has just said her name.
me
Otherwise known as smug Atalante. She's smug because..... she's smug.

and dog farts. near is still deadly
and horse shoes montreal... nearly counts with them too
DISCLAIMER: i know that stats are just numbers and the camaraderie here is primary with finishing the grid secondary. That being said I am getting really really annoyed that the first two columns are moving yet the "Who's Hot" which is supposed to be for a 30 day period, has not moved since I failed to finish one puzzle on November 4th. I mean, even if it only shifted a point but nooooooooooooo, nada, nothing, zilch zip. okay rant over.
lol Ata, sure are!
near works with nuclear bombs I hear
poor bbnaz :(
true BB...missed that one...
hmm i have unusual trouble with u's at the moment
lol bbnaz, but it also takes into account all the other players that do the same I believe.
3 of them refer to a bone hursh
ah thanks.
Im going back to lurking mode, want to finish making my Christmas cards and get them writting for posting.
FM I understand but I have finished every grid since then and that particular column is supposed to only factor in 30 days of puzzles. maybe it means monthly 30 days.
at least FM, some of us attempt to follow the day's icon theme...
anyway, I like the lot of you much better than the ratings. I am off to play with the pony....
reached 300 ...phewwww
I don't really want to turn into a solicitor but if anyone would like to read about my sister's marathon and maybe donate to her cause here's the web addy http://www.active.com/donate/tntwaak/m ia
later BB - have a nice day
bye bbnaz, have a great day
Bye bbnaz
I'm going to head out to take my honey to lunch, see you all in a bit

capitalization is meaningless in the eworld, except for yelling.
or Emphasis.
but I am just teasing-
:)...
montreal -- is there something tasty in the PB today that you want in there so badly? ;)
Eva!! When is the big day... or has it begun?

what Mont?
ahh, my apologies, Mont -- getting you M-named people mixed up. :)
Oh, that is the worst thing, Eva... first, the huge elation... then, the other side of the mountain... Bah! Humbug!!
Hello, back to find my last 99
anybody heard from Becca Lorum ? she must have had her test confirming she has triplets !
Hi, pe4/5!!
ac 7/36 please?
did your BF get the job Eva?
What, Luc?
yes, he was offered it! but no details yet regarding salary, start date, etc...
that is Great! hope he hears soon
Is that true, or are you being Maurice, Alain, Francois, Pierre, Marcel and Richard's brother and making a big tease?
thanks, P, me too!
And I never did see your sister's name...
Becca Lorum is pregnant - she was to go for her test (name es****s me now) - some of us were kidding her about her getting triplets...
Oh, I thought there was a slim chance that it might be true... but, knowing you... hmmmmm
just a tease ... (and bravo scarlet on remembering my 6 brothers' names !!)
LOL... lovely names!!
ac 7/36 clue please?
Louise is my only sister (note that Maurice and Richard) follow in the birthing order (Maurice Richard was the greatest hockey player of his generation...coincidence ? who knows ?
my fathers middle name is Marcel -- not very common (at least here) but i like it :)
not too common here either Eva... but my name is even rarer...
One of our dearest friends is named Maurice, pronounced "Morris" and I call him Mo.
we call him mo as well...lol
LOL
c'est vrai, Lucien! but im a fan of "unusual, but not plain weird" names
like Cormack ?
Padraig
Théophile (Theophilius) ?
hobbit's vet is Cormac
cormack, i actually kinda like... but around here, there are a lot of strange names. i hate to stereotype, but a lot of them come from the black community...
OIhhhhh
scarlet -- Padraig is my nephews name!
help with ca6/24 please
Good grief... Coincidence? I think not... where is Rod Searling when I need him?
i need ac 7/36 please
Sure, wouldn't you know that one time I start late, it's a giant grid.
Serling!
HI peri
Here's a starter hug, pabtrek...
my nephews have very multicultural names -- English and Irish first names, Basque middle names, and French last name!
hi there pab !
course, while its spelled Padraig, they still pronounce it Patrick...
Our friend is called, what else... Paddy!
peri do they even know we are in here??lol
Gosh, I am having a heck of a time typing names today, aren't I, Luc? And this time, I have had three cups of coffee!!
not sure ML
thanks montreal and hi Scarlet
ML -- we see you guys...you just know us, we get ourselves carried away in a certain conversation...heh
Hi, pab... dive in, it's a fun one!
ohh you did notice us huh eva lol
i detect no significant difference Scarlet, sorry ! ...lol
my older nephew is Sidney Unai (a common babblet, no less!) and my younger nephew is Padraig Koldo
it's always fun Scarlet
i cant beleive i have 115 words
LOL... Luc... always the dickens...

I know, pab, but this one has many delightful surprises..

Hi everyone...I'm back again :)
Hey there, Krista and Uni!
hi uni
Think I'll do 100 words then go to the post office (yipee)
How's everyon'e day been thus far?
Krista, in the interests of full disclosure: You are to blame for a personal phenomenon, and you need a hug.
Hi, again
So far, so great, Uni. And yours? Hi, again, pe4/5!
Whoa - do tell, Scarlet! You're scaring me.
Hi Uni and Peri
You should be scared, Krista.
Because of you and your happy attitude about the coming season, ...
I
Am
Going
To
Premonition?
Decorate
the
House.
Gasp.
WHEW - wipes sweat from furrowed brow....
Gee, Scarlet, I was expecting something ominous
Husband and daughter think the Apocalypse is nigh... LOL
And IIIIII am responsible for that?! How very honored I am!
It IS, pe4/5...
Me too, Peri!
ok, if you say so
Yes you are, dear Krista... and I will check into a psychiatric facility on January 2.
ar 6/18 please?
82 left, need to take another break, bbs
It was that eggnog and jingle bells!!
Later, pe4/5
Wow...I don't know if this is as unexpected as MY mother decorating before Dec. 24 but it SOUNDS impressive!
bye peri
That did it! Knocked all the common sense out of my brains...
I'll send you some candy canes while you're admitted. :)
I bet it is, Uni... last time I decorated, other than a candle and a fancy tablecloth, was for daughter's 17th birthday... on Dec. 18.
She'll be 26 next week....
So are you going all out? OMG,that IS a long time.
Mum's is also Dec 18 and i've never seen a tree or decoration before that date...I've been pushing her this year though...we might have a tree before that!
Wow Scarlet...you just blew Lori out of the water! Personal objection or jsut don't want to?
We'll have to tell Judy if we see her....
I always thought is was a great deal of ado about nothing, kind of like Willie's famous speech about Life... a tale told by an idiot...
Having small kids helps a lot, Scarlet. I may be just like you some day. Or, ahem, the OLD you. :) :)
But, this year has been scary in some respects, and I do have so much for which I am grateful... and I have grandchildren now, so for them... (yeah, sure... LOL) Lori's birthday and my daughter on the same date. Wonderful!
LOL... hahahhah, Krista... very funny!
i just got the two pe words. 36 and 20 something whoohoo
I don't much like Christmas, but I love the tree/lights/presents thing. That corner of the room fascinates me. I love to wrap and make it all look beautiful
hi everyone can i please have a clue 4 the li5/10 please
No tree. That IS a personal rejection... but, that's me...
I have visions of Scarlet as Ebenezer waking up on Christmas morning, thowing open those curtains on his bed and dancing.
I am not Roman Catholic, but I do love Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve.... Yep, You have it nailed, K!! LOL
She is redeemed!
my tree always cheers me up
I prefer the Grinch image, with her heart growing three sizes, then carving the roast beast
Sorry cool girl, not me
*Dancing the Twist... Funky Chicken... Macarena* Twirling and rocking around the non-tree...
Hahhahhaaaaaa, Uni... you two are really cracking me up...
That's good! He himself, the Grinch...carved the roast beast.
li5/10 anybody pleaseeeeeeeeee
So now you have a tablecloth, a candle, and....a wreath on the door?? ;)
I've got much of that book (and the cartoon) memorized
hmm i could use that one too cool girl lol
don't have it yet, sorry, coolgirl
As well as the entirety of "Twas the night ebfore christmas"...my dad and I always ended up doing it by memory as we could NEVER find the book on christmas eve
Me, too, Uni! Love it.
cool girl - flowering tree
Krista - I love it!! Still have my own copy of each.
that's li5/12 . . .
got it
I just got the 6/21..yay
oh well whichever one it is i got it une lol
Not yet, Krista, but I have gone so far as to take many boxes out of the basement to dig out pretty things... It will happen in a gentle transition from total Grinchdom to a candle in my heart...
and theirs a plural to it too
:-D
My best friend is a Latin teacher. I actually found a copy of The Grinch in Latin for her last year!
~!~!FIREWORKS!~!~
That is SO cool. I love trying to read latin stories, but I only took high school latin
YAY Kristine!!
That is a wonderful start, Scarlet.
congrats, kris!!!
congrats Kris
Yahoo for Kristine!!! Hi, Une.

congrats kristen
hey, scarlet :-)
Scarlet, just make sure you only do what pleases you. Holdiays ought to be about taking care of yourself
Same here; just two years and I've forgotten most of it, but once in a while some of it comes back to me when thinking about word origins.
A Christmas doggie... did your pup go see Santa Paws?
wtg Krista ! - hi all - back with 37 to go...
Hi Kristine! Wow! I'm impressed with each and every finisher today.
nope . . .
ae 7/28 please
Welcome back Montreal
That's right, Uni... it's the cooking that I concentrate on each year...
He, Luc!
tx Uni :)
could anyone help me with the longer AC's? I only have the 4 letter ones
Mmm, I like Christmas punch and the baking. We make a little factory and assembly line. My brothers and I make fascinating gingerbread men...
Hi, deb!
ae 7,28 = ae 4,4 + i *** down in a chair
a + auto + **entification
ae 7/29-another spelling for what we breathe + the abbrev for the college exam the plural
Hi Red!
The grandchildren love the gingerbread people, too...
ae4/4 + didn't remain standing
gingerbread people sound delightful!
We're trying to do a village this year..have four houses decorated so far (gingerbread). What we'll do with them after Xmas, I don't know.
can anyone clue me for the ca7/36 - after the roman ruler plz?
Eat the good bits and chuck the rest Krista. I just eat the mint stuff
ca6 headgear + sun***
ca7 is an instrument used for measuring
Yeah, I'll take lots of pictures and do just that. My son was so excited to eat one. I let him have a nibble and he found they aren't that tasty.
krista could u clue me the il5/10 please

Ty - I can see it now!
Krista, your son has the right idea!
il 5,10 = sicker
I just started, coolgirl..don't have it,yet
My grandson likes to take the black licorice from the decorations on some little huts... and chew them gooily... then, call "Baba... look'a this" and proceed to squish the black gunk through his teeth... dissolves me into laughter every time... I am such a sucker for shenanigans...

You grandmothers. :) My MIL lets my son moon her!
*chestnuts
chestnuts! BLECH!
I like the red... the cherry-flavored, but the black is very useful... What, Krista!! Well, this old Baba would draw the line at that... I think... LOL
soooo disappointing!
Never tried them..what do they taste like? Or, what was it that you didn't like about the taste?
licorice jellybeans are waste of good sugar!!
Yuchie chestnuts... and I don't like pretzels... they should taste better than that...

There are a couple of us words. us5 and us6
ty haz i will seek them anon!
No problem, I know you like to root them out yourself.
LOL i guess we cannot be polite today!
We can't mind our p's and q's!
i may have to get clues, when the grid is this large my home pc cannot handle it
The nice thing about the grid is that there are so many normal words and I always enjoy the first rush of enthusiasm.
yes! i think i had over 200 until things got challenging
Having said all that, there are still some new words for me today.
yes and fun ones too - like the pe7/8's
Speaking of which I must look up the definition...
i think i will change my schedule - supposed to work 9 hours but got in late, hate going home in the dark
That's the nastiest thing about winter, so little daylight. Still, the turn of the nights is coming soon.
yes. i usually change from 9 to 8 hour days and forego the extra day off
oh btw just got the swear words half an hour ago ; ? (oa)
I'm over half way so I'm off to bed now. See you all in the morning as I'm working from home :-)
Oh yes, I remember you were having a blind spot with o.
Good night Katie, sleep well.
good bye, katie. haz i now have 11 of 14
So, you're almost there.
i so wanted rosacea to be in there, and the plight and light
haz i am sorry to have upset you the other day on the grid. i take it all in stride and joke around a lot and well i didnt mean to upset anyone.
mkg, thanks for that. You maybe don't realise that when you use so many question marks and exclamation marks, it gives the impression that you're getting upset.
well i am so sorry. i am sitting laughing when i type that all in.
I was also frustrated that you seemed to be rejecting clues as being not quite what you wanted or not quite correct. I just lost patience.
But I appreciate you saying sorry.
well...would you believe it.... I've finished !!!!
no i wasnt upset with the clues at all. i was just commenting. i dont get upset or angry while at this cuz otherwise why do it? it is only a game after all. so i take it all as fun and funny and interesting. the enable dictionary is amazing to me. my husband prides himself on a very broad vocab and he and i laugh a lot at the enable dictionary. so kknow that i am laughing. anyway life is too short to get upset by this grid or game. so please know that whatever i type in it is with jest.
I would believe it, Karys - congratulations!
way to go karys. i am impressed.
YAY, KARYS
wtg karys. and i'm down to just 100. hi everyone.
hey brat...
Hello kanga.
thank you both.....was a busy day today, so I wasn't sure I would........everyone ok ?
thank you TO and Kanga
no wonder that kitty is smiling!
Yes, Karys, I'm well.
it may have been a big one, but it was a nice one
that's good Haz... and are we all getting there for Christmas ?
I agree, Karys. Are you back down from Cloud New York?
ooh that's right, i forgot! karsy, you were so close!
Yes Haz.... drooling over the photos now
Well..... as usual I've left things later than I should. But it will all work out in the end.
I loved it yet again TO !!!!
the exchange rate was grand wasn't it?
If I had any wit I'd be writing Christmas cards, but no, I put it off for another day.
I am probably feeling a little smug Haz, since one of the things I was busy with was the cards !
TO, the girls couldn't believe their bargains !
Ah, you can join Atalante in being smug, then!
The dreaded wrapping awaits though
now i'm panicking! i haven't even finished shopping yet...
Husband is a dab hand. I reckon it's all the experience with bandaging. He knows how to cover things and keep them on.
aahh...I have help with the cards, but the wrapping is mine I fear !
Hi Kanga and Karys and anyone else i missed
hello herin :)
is the use of gift bags not widespread in uk?
hi herin!
Haz... I get to catch up with some of the foster kids at this time of the year, which is a bonus ( or not )
You can use gift bags to a certain extent, but part of the mystery is not knowing what's inside, hence the wrapping.
TO..we don't have the Christmas wrapping in the shops as you do
Im on the phone arguing pointless rule monkey behaviour. ''No you can not have that cd it doesn't have a cover. No we don't care its one of 4 left in aus and its unavailable anywhere you can't have it'' Arrr head desk
i've been hoarding shoe boxes all year.
So, you look forward to seeing some and not others. Are the foster children mostly grown up now.
the bags hid eoddly shaped items well. i do prefer wrapping, though the bags save the day on late things
(There should be a question mark there!)
Hi guys. Just dipping in for a bit
what's the cd, herin?
Hello Takuma.
looks like loads of fun today?
hi ts karys, what do you have and not have exactly?
me too kanga !!..... Haz, it's not so much 'seeing' as 'hearing', and yes a lot are grown, which doesn't always mean good news !
It's a great grid, Takuma.
hi Takuma
Ah, sometimes things haven't turned out as you would have hoped?
Oh its a very old dance cd. Dj Alligator project. It isn't even available on his website. All ready had 2 tanties at said store and they still wont give me it. Its policy dang it
Hi tak
Sadly no.....but mostly it's good
Hindsight is a wonderful thing !
Karys, you're still enjoying Cranford? What a mixture of comedy and tragedy all wrapped up in social history. Life has always had its ups and downs.
heh, no 'tase'? But that was the OED's word of the year!
hi all! back for final 40
don't try to talk logic to enable...
Yes Haz....it's becoming unmissable, I havn't read the books, so I am unbiased
Hello beth, one more push...
herin, did you try JJB (i think that's the name of the shop)in Camberwell at the top of Riversdale road? they have heaps and heaps of old stuff there?
hi beth
anyway you'll get no sympathy from me, i cannot stand making verbs out of nouns
YAHHHHHHH they found my CD.
goooo herin!
Heh, I'm skeptical of it anyway -- I think it was originally a proper name ('taser' that is)
I was so shocked when both Walter and Miss Deborah died!
Mummy hi. Thanks not on JB hi fis system :( But this legend just ferreted through the stock and found it.
me too, TO. though it's been ubiquitous here. I'm at UF, location of the infamous "Don't tase me, Bro!"
Karys i congratulate you on looking after foster kids
I was very worried that it might be Miss Matty's turn if the others could go so suddenly !!
well done, glad you found it!
i see! must go, bll i think to finish, only 53 left : p
thank you herin, but I have retired from that now, I just have one 'special' still left
I hope she's safe. I'm just concerned as to how the young doctor will get out of marrying three women.
Bye TO!
silly, silly boy.... just being so nice has got him into all sorts of bother.
bye TO !
good evening babblers
wow a monster grid!
Yes, but there's been skullduggery from his friend and those women see a proposal in the most unlikely things. Who'd have thought lavendar gloves could mean so much?
why doesn't this happen on week-ends!
good evening to you Enomiss
Hello Enomis - it's a big grid, but fun.
so i can spend time with my kids, enomis? :p
Indeed, indeed Haz....you will be careful with gifts this year won't you ?
well - I am now plunging!!! (plouf)
I'll look for the hidden meanings carefully!
kangabrat - you are so right but really, such a big grid is great for Sunday mornings...
and do stay clear of lavender
l
I also get to go to my gym which is in the same center so yah
I will - not that keen on it as a scent, but it looks wonderful growing in the fields.
got to go... with 75 still to get. sob.
I like it in the garden, when you walk past it is quite gentle
Yes, I know what you mean, it's okay outdoors, I just don't want to smell of it!
See you later, kanga.
ooohh.... I forgot... I recently learned I am to be a Grandma again !!!
bye kanga..hope you get the rest
How could you forget something like that? Congratulations!
I know, I know... thank you, not for ages yet but still....
It must be fun. I loved seeing my mother with my children when they were little - she just adored them and excused things that I would never have got away with as a child!
oh yes....I am exactly the same, mine had to toe the line, but the line has moved somewhat now !!!
It's the first rule of grandmotherhood. Put on the rose-tinted glasses and keep them on.
congrats karys
you are right, and on that happy thought I think it must be bedtime !!
Hi Doxy
thank you doxy !
hi all
so ni nite everyone...thank you for you company :)
night karys.
Night Karys!
Haz....before I go.... ' Mr Galliano's Circus ' ?
hi, new here
What about it, Karys?
did you 'do' it ?
No - I've just googled it, but have never heard of it. By Enid Blyton?
welcome doridk....not meaning to ignore you !
hi doridk
yes....I have to look for a copy for my eldest son....it's the one he remembers most being read to him
h'lo
Well with 121 left i must bid you all goodbye. I am running off to the gym and get my new cd (woot
and I just wondered if it had come into your orbit in the past !
Oh, so a trip down memory lane - that will be fun. There shouldn't be a problem getting it. Let's hope they haven't made it PC.
good for you herin !!
Hello hurshy.
Karys, I liked the St Clare's and Mallory Towers stories. Very jolly hockey-sticks, or should I say lacrosse?
I am going to go to the same gym co but different spot. I will be interesting as i used to eat with my first boyfriend at the place the gym is now at
No..I want an old copy...I know I have it somewhere but I can't find it !!....and now going....really...night all !!
I loved Mallory Towers !!!!
I will be mentally finding were our table was.
Night!
going...going....gone xx
dang it all, i thought i had one with le4cap.
Two words I suppose?
must be
petit ecolier (the biscuits, not literally) are toooo delicious
Too good for the penalty box then.
i didn't say a word, did i?
No, I'm just saying that if they're that good, you should keep them for yourself.
oh, yes, well soon i'll jolly well have to, for i'll have et them all
hello again
hi mlfan
hi dozy
Well, I'll leave you with your biscuits. I've got Christmas cards to write....tomorrow. I can't face starting them now.
Good night!
i was about to ask if you were on your way out... night haz
Nighty night.
hello again babblers !
*is astounded as always to see helen*
heya hursh - been babbling in small chunks, at odd times, usually later - how are you doing? how's the job going?
hi helen
Hi HK
today, i am doing ok and the job is going fine.
hiya doxy, ml
then we are grateful for today :)
i have 158 words and am just trying things again i have found a few and i have no idea what clues to ask for lol
yes :)
i've got 5 more to 300 and then i'm hitting the list.
ml - are you new? has anyone told you about bj's list?
72 to go here
no helen i have been here
i use licketys to ask for clues
lol, these grids always make me feel like my vocabulary lacks all words starting with vowels
ok then, you weren't speaking literally i take it?
i thought your name looked familiar
lol tak
really? it makes me feel like mine lacks words that start with S and P
hey, they closed my other addiction, tangleword, so i have been spending too much time checking out other game sites & i found a really cool site yesterday . . .
well i just got a few more
drumroll please
www.timtang.com/ttt ?
hi everyone
clue please for ar6-18
Helen what is ig?
it?
id otn have ar 6 18 sorry
it's called freerice.com - you click on multiple choice voacbluary answers & for each one you get right, they donate a grain of rice to someone hungry - it goes faster than you think
is it like tangleword?
oh, yes, that one
hi all
but helen, you simply MUST try the tim tang test.
no, not at all like tangle - sorry to mislead you, but it made me feel both smart & good
what's that hursh?
hi angel
the freerice site is reader's digest vocab questions
i liked tangleword too, did try freerice site too
www.timtang.com/ttt
crp did you get it yet?
i hate iwin
hi ang
not yet
hursh, i tried timtang this weekend, after you recommended it, and i am hooked
i just got here a couple of minutes ago
not too fond of it either helen
hi nana!
aha! a convert!
too many word here for me to start
hi all..not even trying to finish this one
hi krista
nana i have 162 and i am just typing in words for the most part
theirs 300 plus for this one
well if you don't try, then you certainly won't finish :(
you will do it just fine, catch u later ang,,,
erosen
i tried scrabulous.com, but it's just scrabble. they emailed me asking why I didn't play a game. I responded that I was looking for a game like tangleword that is no longer sponsored by iwin.com
hi everyone
hi angel...can't argue with that logic, Spock :)
bye nana, see ya later
hurshy that is never the case for me lol
hisaphyre
Time for me to get back to the writing. Good luck all!
on the contrary, it is always the case for everyone.
hi saphyre
JUST Scrabble????
hi takuma
yes, but I don't mean it in a bad way. sorry
and bye takuma, have fun
Hi Saphyre. How are those puppies?
I"m just teasing, snags.
ugh, i had such a horrid dream last night and this grid reminded me of it :P
puppies are fine Krista - they opened their eyes yesterday for the first time
ok.......... i like scrabble but I don't want to play it online.......... just loved tangleword........ sigh
How so, Hurshy?
snag, i also play in www.wordtwist.com (used to be www.boggled.org); although you can't play other people, it at least has boggle boards
wee widdle eye-op'ning buppies???
8 of them hurshy
the dream was about one of the grid words.
what kind of buppies?
i found a few sites you might like in my search
AWWWW...I can almost smell the puppy breath!
what sites are you playing snags?
Oh...you'll have to tell us tomorrow which one.Or give us a clue!
my dog - the dad - is a border collie/husky mix - the mom is a pit bull
clue for en8?
my - what do they look like then?
one is www.playwords.com and that is boggle
scruffy mutts are my favorite.
two look just like dakota - my icon
2 look just like roxie with one blak eye
one looks like a racoon and the others are all white with a pirate patch over one eye :)
Those black ones are sooooooo cute.
:)
that is weird it give a plural of pe 5/14
ooh, i'll have to try it, thanks snags
sorry that grannymaxx couldn't have seen the puppies - she loved my dog :(
sorry to hear about grannymaxx
thanks doxy
Yes, I caught a little of the conversation the other day. I didn't know her or of her, but it sounds like she was well-loved. I am sorry.
have to go for now. going shopping.
great lady and a good friend
bye doxy
www.spogg.com
the game is spellbound
you can play as a guest
bye doxy
i belong to spellbound too
wish I could type the words
later all
bye snags
I can't get into anymore word games **tries not to remember these sites you're discussing**
Bye snags!
me either - but it's tempting
lol krista
Between this and Scrabulous, my dance card is full!
And Hurshy is going to play Scrabulous with me some day.
My 6-year old just called me a Worrier. Pffft!
lol cute
He wants to sleep the office tonight under a folding table and pretend he's camping. I told him the floor gets cold. He said,
"Mom, you're such a worrier."
hehe - that's adorable
And he wants to charge 25 cents to anyone who wants to see him sleep.
funny :)
Hey everyone, Krista - was it you that mentioned aspergers?
He keeps me entertained, that's for sure. :)
hi lickety
hi lickety
Hi angelina - enjoying babble expert?
Hi Lickety! Yes - Mr. P and I discussed the kiddos very briefly one evening.
hi everyone....clues please for re6/18..[first one] and the 7/32 after it please??
My daughter has it. She's 12. It's your son, right?
Krista - arr good - I mentioned it to her last night. Yeah my son who is turning 9 soon.
s
sorry the SECOND re6/18 please??
ss
Flask, RE + ***lante, a Babbler, and plural it.
sorry don't know where tha t came from
yes thanks lickety, i appreciate your help
We've only got the diagnosis within the last year and a half. She actually has PDD-NOS, but it's easier to say Asperger's, they are so close on the spectrum.
Scarlet....my mistake...its the SECOND6/21...and the 7/32 please??
arrr ok, I gotta run - Enjoy, see ya at the flip
Do it again to your shoestrings, Flask.
Nice to "meet" ya!
thanks darlin'.....xx...:-)
Hey Babble Family..... Was here the other night and I found out about Grannymaxx.... I havent been on again since.... I was so sad and unhappy, I couldnt bring myself to babble..... How is everyone holding up ??
XX Flask. Hi, Aussie... I still have a tightness inside...she was one wonderful person.
hi Aussie
The funeral is thursday
hi aussie, flask and scarlet
the family is doing as good as can be expected
Hi, angelina!
Saphyre, I was asked if there is a street address for some of us to send cards directly... I know it is irregular, in that Internet security should be sacrosanct, but it is a very special case.
Was she someone you knew in "real life," Saphyre?
scarlet - anyone who would like the address can email me at spectrum@bestweb.net
yes Krista - a good friend
You are so very special, saph. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. *hug*
Oh my.
Always hard to deal with loss, but moreso this time of year.
She took care of Dakota (my dog) whenever we went away... her son is my best friend - a wonderful family
Did she introduce you to Babble?
No Krista - I introduced her to babble - she was housebound and I knew she loved all word games
You will be getting an email from me then saph..... I would like to send a card to the family..... I know about loss near to Christmas.... My Grandma died December 19th, and was cremated December 23rd, the year I turned 14.... That was one of the hardest Christmases I have dealt with. I am here for you Saph, and anyone else....... xxx {{{{hugs for saph}}}}
thanks Aussieme - I am sure the family would love to know how much her babble friends cared :)
Then you certainly gave her a lot of pleasure and company, Saph.
s
I tried - fixed her computer for her whenever she couldn't get online so she could babble :)
anyone have a clue for the 5th ta5/12?
I have been trying so hard to remember another Babbler who was going through chemo before I took a long break. I haven't seen her since I've been back and am wondering about her.
Just can't think of her name.
I remember that too Krista but do not remember who it was
mooch its like when you're late, but change the last letter
I have sent you my email Saph.... I put babble in the subject so you dont delete it xx
pk, thanks, was driving me crazy!
yw, i know the feeling!
bottom row done :-)
Likewise, Saph... Aussie and I must have e-mailed at the same moment.
ok - I will respond this evening - I have to get going and clean up the kitchen - thank you - see everyone later
Hey Scarlet.... how are you Hon ??
No problem Saph, I will keep my eye out for it..... see ya soon xx
bye for now
oops - went to archives and couldn't figure out how to get back here! Had to restart Expert. Bye Saph
Hi, sweetie... there has been too much bad news latelty, but we are personally doing very well. How is my cyber granddaughter doing, dear? LOL
fireworks at last goodnight everyone
Are you going to tell us how warm it is, Aussie?? Everyone else has today. :)
Very well done, cool girl!!
yay, cool girl! Nice going
Your Cyber-Grandaughter is 18 months old, into everything, and has everything for Christmas. She is growing so fast.
***and the Bills win certainly is nice for Scarlet*** :-)
Warm, here in the UK, blooming freezing here.....
Congrats coolgirl!
Ohmigosh, Aussie... she just celebrated her first birthday a few moments ago... LOL... the best time for little girls is Christmas!
Hey, LoriP... how the heck are you?
It only feels like a few moments ago.... It is also my Nicec Lucys' first birthday today !!
Oh sorry, Aussie, despite the glaring flag there, I still think you're in Australia.
Lor, Nono is the Bills fan supremo... my guys are the hapless Chiefs, but New England and Chicago are my secret loves! LOL
Popped in for a quick minute to say Hi. G'd evening babblers. ***Scarlet, I'm still hugging, in a sad kind of way***
**grins at krista**..... thats fine dear, I am used to it by now....
With that, it's rush hour here, and I must be off. Have a great evening all!
Thank you darlin... so much appreciated!
see ya LoriP....xx
You are always off, Lori! :-)
that would be my Niece, not nicec !!
Hibye, Lori! Take care.
Thanks, Aussie. You're a dear.
hi Eion
well, I'd better see if I can get into this humungous grid..... I only have 3 words so far, but the chat was far, far more important today......
Aussie... big, breaking news: Krista, singlehandedly has converted me from Grinch to Christmas elf... not an easy feat!
(magic eggnog)
LOL... so THAT's the secret...
Blimey !!!!!!!! I am a Christmas Elf too..... I LOVE CHRISTMAS !!! (sorry, had to shout from the rooftops).. mmmm, eggnog.....
Blimey... another one....
I don't know how I did it, but I'll be happy to take the credit.
*mutter* *mutter*
Me and Georgia watched Miracle On 34th Street and The Polar Express today !!
Oh, you were all happy and stuff... sashaying in with eggnog and candy canes, carolling from the top of your lungs... Hah~
We don't want to scare her back into the one tablecloth and lonely candle, Aussie.
*Laughing really hard now*
Those words just painted a mental picture for me, Scarlet!
Oh Heck yes, we were singing at the top of our lungs !!!! **you'd better watch out, you'd better not sigh, you'd better not pout, I'm telling you why..... Santa Claus is coming, to towwwwwwwn**
Miracle on 34th St..colorized, or black and white, Aussie?
Awwww... I am simply a minimalist at heart, Krista... so, I'll go a little deeper this year... AND YOU DID IT!
ca7,36 anyone?
Be impressed Krista, for I have BOTH !!!!
Blimey... where is the coffee pot!
it's some kind of a tool... that you use in like, science
Me too! For my different Miracle on 34th Street moods!
CA7/36 will make minute measurements, pk
We are kindred elfs, Aussie.
The B/W one makes me cry more....
ty hursh & scarlet
:-)
Hi everyone! Just avoiding school work.
yes we are Krista......
Hi, Luwanda...
Kindred elves... oh, man... it's a virus...
I know what you mean about the B and W..same with It's a Wonderful Life (though I CAN get tired of that one)
anyhelp for the ce?
How about this shocker: I have never seen "It's A Wonderful Life" ?
the one who tells you what not to read
A Christmas Virus, quick Krista, we have to infect as many people as we can.... Give everyone you knoe the Christmas Bug !!
No Scarlet! Don't go back to the Dark Side!
me either, scarlet
Too late, Luke... he is my father.............. Yay for Takuma...
Wow, I don't know you've avoided seeing it, just in passing.
don't know how, that is
Every time I see the tortued Jimmy Stewart, I simply press the "off" button on the remote... EASY! LOL
Haa haaa! There really isn't that much Christmas in that movie, to be honest.
anyone have any clues
Scarlet, are you related to my husband?
yes there is... it's chock full of christmas spirit
Takuma, have you tried roasted chestnuts??
For what Atom ?
anything
mmmmmm roasted chestnuts.....
LOL, Lu... is he grinchy too? LOL
for instance Atom ?
any of the 8 letter words
not got a clue, havent got them myself yet.....
oh thats ok
I get more "Christmassy" with "Field of Dreams"...
Hmmmm, baseball = christmas ?
Field of Dreams?
Elves are puzzled.
haha elves, puzzled get it
i get christmas eve-y with field of dreams. as in, sound asleep, waiting for santy claus.
RE/8 x2...third person singular to put back again; =the other means to climb again
Atom, I was scared I gave a grid word away for a second. Whew.
react
oops...
Kevin Costner...yawn :) Cute, but yawn.
The possibilities... the spiritual connection that life is not about receiving.. but giving back to those who seek... Okay, elves? *hugs to you both*
shoot me now..... only cute..... he is rather yummy, but only in Robin Hood : Prince of Thieves....
Liked him better in Bull Durham...
hurshy, did you listen to babblecast? i had a suggestion for you in it.
I liked the movie, Scarlet. I see what you mean, now.
Hey Nutty.....
heya aussie!
Awwww... you are a woman of depth, Krista.
haven't had a chance, nut. what's the sugg?
I thought his acting was BAAAD in Robin Hood, but I take it you weren't looking at his acting, Aussie. :)
now now, i'm not spoiling it, but i'll let slip that it involves star trek
And James Earl Jones can't do anything wrong...
lol
I must find this Babblecast.
Awwww, scarlet, just read your message..... that is a lovely sentiment.... lol @ Krista **I AM blushing**
and on costner...i don't think he's a very great actor
he's not, he's not, he's almost as bad as keanu reeves!
Yeah, I remember that scene by the river, Aussie!
yes krista, you must find this babblecast...not terribly difficult to find though.
**woodpecker on head** (seen it on Family Guy, Hurshy??)
at least keanu makes up for it by being eye candy
James Earl Jones has a voice to die for, I also Love anything with Morgan Freeman in it....
Ditto, Aussie!
for looks i would prefer costner. i don't generally go for men with such dark hair. i like a warmer color.
Lean On Me was good
i could have an affair with sean connery's voice
brb
so was bruce almighty
Scarlet, Have you seen the film March Of The Penguins ?? Morgan Freeman did the voiceover for it....
those both had morgan freeman in them
Correct Atom.....
My favourite has to be The Shawshank Redemption though....
i am way way confused about the long pe's in the middle
who has ever seen that movie Bang Bang, You're Dead
The last movie I saw was "Lions for Lambs" and I about had a conniption... I thought I was back in the 60s with the same old, same old Vietnam redux viz Robert's politics... I like Redford, and do not necessarily disagree with him, but I was p'o'ed with the movie...
back...wanted to see that, Atom! Was it as good as "they" said??
cant say I have Atom
Shawshank was excellent, Aussie.
that movie was actually very weird
ok, gotta wash the stink offa me
will have to rent it
Hursh, the pe8/55 is the 5/12 enhanced by a fish
Nut! Why so stinky?
That it was Scarlet....
You work up that much of a sweat on that there Babblecast?
ah, ty so much scarlet
Ok, I have to go now..... Its almost 1am here, and I have a doctors appointment in the morning.... must away now....night night babble family....
Very welcome, hursh.
Nice to see you again, Aussie! Sleep well.
Later, dear Aussie... hug that darling for me~
i liked the movie "Redemption" with jamie fox
I promise to Scarlet, night night Krista.... sweet dreams everyone xx
Bubba recommended Rabbit-Proof Fence to me..still need to watch it.
I couldn't sleep the other night (so, what else is new?) and finally caught Antoine Fisher... I love Denzel, and the movie was a bit too pat, but well done...
Could I have a clue for the ar5, not the one to get up
I"m about three years behind on grown-up movies! Ask me about any kids' movie, though...
denzel washington is awesome
especially in deja vu
Oh, Krista... when the grandchildren visit, it's the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Lion King... you name it... fortunately, I love them all!
Denzel is amazing...
It does help to like them...think it would be maddening otherwise! Especially the ones in "high rotation!"
Oddly, the children would rather play with me, or do something outside than watch a video... busy little beavers! lol
gah! now i am stuck on the first pl 7/8 combo!
How old are they, Scarlet?
Use the firs four letters of the previous 6/24 and add the last three letters of a Data-like robot, Hursh
ah, ty again
Nearly seven and our grandson is five, Krista!
You're welcome, hursh.
The other girls, who live in Ohio, are seven and four... delightful ages for us!
Cute ages! They are still little, but think they are big stuff.
Exactly, Krista... still mostly innocent, but so daggone smart... what was I doing at seven years old? LOL
i was ... let's see ... holed up in my room reading
I'd better get this grid finished... LOL... Just so, hursh!!
I think I was in 2nd grade telling the other kids there was no Santa...
seven wasn't really that different from a lot of other years for me.
what ab out an ar6,,,since no ar5?
Books were my best friends when I was a kid, Hurshy. There were NO kids in my neighborhood.
And we gather at a word site... hmmmm... no big shockers there...
AR + first person singular + sweet flower
Yes, I suppose we WOULD have that in common!
Yep! Oh, Krista... what a polyglot melting pot we are...
thnx, scarlet, have that one, need the other
Sorry, phaeton... I didn't know that there was another... I don't have it yet.
hello
Hi, feather!
ac's are giving me a fit..Hey Feather

Hi, timmy... no more than usual!

**rubs Hurshy's neck**
Tim, have you been in contact with tragicstud lately... I miss her.
hi all, has anyone clued un7/36? its my last one

i'm just down to 200 words.
Go, Lu, Go!!

Thank you, tim.
runnig out if eenergy
109 more!!!
i can't wait to go to the chiropractor on thursday! i stupidly missed my appointment last tuesday because i thought the appointment was thursday. this time it IS thursday so maybe that will help.
i miss her too
Are you still suffering pains from the automobile accident, hurshy? Or, is it just achiness?
Does your chiropractor know about Babble? lol
yes, it's from the accident.
gotta go do school work
hello everyone -- spent the entire day Christmas shopping and still have 189 left -- hope I can finish!
nite everyone. enjoy babbling.
If I HAD to sit here this long, I wouldn't do it.
un 7, 36 clue please
Good night, Luwanda, and hello nan and Merk!
Nite Luwanda...get to work!
