And bless the man who offered to look at my pc, he found out the problem is with the memory thingies, that need to be renewed. Not too expensive and relatively quickly done. And bless you all for just being here :)

wtg dc! You will enjoy it so much! You will keep telling us about you, won´t you? ^Please?
did you finish Mar?
and for those of you in the States, maybe in Canada also, Lipton PureLeaf Iced Tea, Lemon, is almost as good as my mama's, and it's sugar-sweetened, not corn syrup. :)
sounds good, dc, lol
it was a cosolation purchase at the store this evening, as they had no LU Pims anymore :(
hmmm sugar and corn syrup are both poison dc
i'll have to look at other places, i like the Pims Orange very much.
oh no flos
still got 27 to go
hey, I know LU Pims! Orange? So lovely... but your tea sounds great too.
Flosey - I missed yr finish - Congrats !!
lol, yes, Orange it is, I see you said so
depends on metabolism, just, but i agree in general :)
thanks lynxxx, many thanks to you
i've tried other flavours, sprite, but i like orange best :)
of the pims that is.
hey, we all need our personal poisons once in a while :D
well yeah not good for that but just not good for body
same here, dc!
of course, i adore chocolate-covered candied orange peel, too :)
oh, I like that too dc
everything in moderation, I suppose...
except gin n tonic :)
indeed, just. even an excees of water kills :)
lol, that use to be my fav
LOLLL Mar!
pisses me off that the diet tonic sucks
gin n tonic is a joy :)
diet tonic is yucky, i agree.
aspartame is worse than sugar
hi all!
any diet drink is yucky
having it now (blush)
morning, MVA
Sing it, Sprite!!
for sure sprite
I don't agree on that flos....depends what the sweetner is and again....in moderation
fireworks
congrats, CRPW!
hi MVA
WTG crpw
yay crpw!!
that weird way of spelling a heavenly body gets me every time
ng crpw
Hello everyone!
it is, dc! Body cannot process it easily, it is harder to get rid off than sugar... no one knows yet what the effects of longtime big doses will do to a body. I rather keep my sugar intake low than use lots of aspartame.
tytyty
must get to bed, goodnight all, see you at flip tomorrow
woot crpw! And hi Marmar!
Just so you all know - we now have Stewart Little at home - he is as beautiful as his picture (although ALL the greyhounds, about 20, at the pickup were beautiful). He is supposed to be a bit dumb but see no sign of it yet. He ad512s company which is what we want anyway.
being a newbie am surprised that the last 4 or 5 grids have been so short
sleep well, flosey!
night flosey!
I want "rejoice" in the grid today
Hi Marmar
Bye flosey...hi all others!
just, when we get a string of shorts, we're slammed eventually with a 370-400 :) yin for yang
hi marmar
MarMar........a mar after my own heart! heheh
hello, marmar!
it is random, Mar. tomorrow can be 600+. Or 25.
goodnight all, happy babbling
Enter, Rejoice, and Come In is one of my favorite hymns.
I know mar. Your name makes me smile too!
yeah I hear ya dc
night crpw!
rejoice is good when- and wherever, Marmar :D
goodnight crpw
night crpw
DC, great news about your school preparations! I am excited for you and jealous of you.
wow 25 eessshhhh
seems Mar is synonymous with great babblers
i'm a little scared that the alphabet will be a challenge. Then i remember i learned to write Chinese, so how hard can Arabic be. *crosses fingers*
well, the sea ties us together sprite :)
We just had the greatest Christmasy weekend with the kids, I I'm now all about rejoiceing. Sprite, you're too sweet.
ok, changed my icon
and now to bed
*hugs dc* We are connected by more than the sea, lol. And arabic is an alphabet, dc. Much easier than kanji. Take heart and allow yourself some initial blundering.
g'night, flosey, rest well :)
Your tree Flosey? its beautiful
Marmar: all natural sweetness here, no aspartame ;)
night flosey
lovel tree, flosey, and a great space!
DC, one of the schools my oldest child is looking at (she's going into 5th grade next year) offers Chinese and she would really like to learn it.
indeed sprite. I've learned Cyrillic, Greek, Chinese, and and Amharic writing systems, i'm sure it'll come. :)
oh, she should, mar! it's great fun :)
and you get to confound people by saying things right, like i did to a customer the other day, who was stunned i got the tone right on her surnam, Feng. LOL
she should, Marmar! Works miracles on the agility of the mind. Very different language to learn, will stretch and widen much more than just her language skills.
dc, what is Amharic?
She sat in on a "sample" class and loved it. The teacher is a big favorite in the school, makes it really fun.
and learning the writing and reading is amazing.
the primary language of Ethiopa, Sprite.
thanks dc!
their script is based on Coptic, like Armenian, Georgian, and some others.
Sprite, do you speak Chinese too?
Amharic came to be at the intersection of Ge'ez and Arabic, about 1200 years ago.
sounds fascinating
Marmar: not much. I studied Japanese for 18 months and took Chinese as extra in the last half year.
But you've had the exposure to it, that is so valuable.
it's surprising how the writing of Japanes and Chines differ, esp in meaning. japanese 'to like' is chinese 'good/well', for example.
exactly :D That is why I can recommend it for your daughter with my whole heart.
the kanji were taken from the chinese for their pronunciation, often, not their meaning, lol.
and when you realise that the pronuncation of one kanji differs widely from area to area, it breeds for very confusing uses in japanese
Noted! We love foreign languages in our house, pity that we speak so few. We listen to french and spanish childrens CD's, watch DVD's in Turkish...it's like music!
wow Marmar, sounds special!
turkish is a beautiful tongue; i hope to learn more of it someday.
arabic first, dc ;)
I just ordered the Japanese (original) version of "Shall We Dance", Hollywood remade it with Richard Gere and JLo. But the Japanese version is wonderful.
firewords, and i'm off to bed, goodnight all
sprite, kanji pronunciations vary in japan? I know the hanji are different all over china, as are the languages, but in Japan that surprises me.
congrats, banana! and sweet dreams!
Congrats Banana - sleep well
Yea banana! Good night.
ty dc you too
ty all, gn
yay banana
dc: I mean in china, before the stealing of their kanji took place.
byebanana
ah, yes, many languages, from two different languag groups. no/not is bu, kep, map, buk, and i'm sure more, those are just the ones i know.
i have a friend that learned Mandarin in Xinjinhuan, and now lives in Hainan, where she's also picked up on Hainanhua, which sounds more like Vietnamese.
it was very confusing to me at first, learning a combination of kanji with a certain pronunciation, only to find next day that one of those kanji was pronounced totally different in another combination.
http://tinyurl.com/ppc43 is a fascinating, if slightly lengthy, article about the falicy of standard right-wing US anti-abortion arguments.
lol, quite a non sequitur
oh , like kou, mouth + huo, knife + guo, country, when the knife is in the mouth, you mean?
i've been good at those tonight, sprite :)
= guo, country, that should read
phantom: tortiloquy, the spin of politicos who think truth is technicality for the naive
well, said, BabbleRabble, and a good morning to you.
I cannot remember an example, dc, but it was more like a kanji pronounced as KAN in once combination and as TOKO in another. That kind of total difference.
....and THAT is exactly why I will NEVER be good at this game!!!
yes, compound ones will do that if switched left-to-right, for example.
i'm back!
Good to see you, BabbleRabble. Interestesting word. Politics always baffle me.
hi babrab!
fran, was that tinyurl an FTP?
hi mary, dc and sprite!!
wb Fran
Hello, friends
hmm, it wasn't supposed to be dc, it was just the first page of the guys graphics collection
Aloha Fran! Hello Babble!
Hi Fran, wb, and BabRab !
hi again lynxxx!
I'm going to get another cup of coffee, anybody want anything while I'm up?
hi fran and babrab!
i'm good, marmar, ty
hi mva!
yeah, at the start of a word a different pronunctiation than when used at the end... something like that indeed, dc. It´s been a while, lol.
coffee, please, Marmar!
I'll get my own thanks Marmar and get some dinner going..BBL
ciao, lynxxx
later lynxxx!
tea please marmar
bye lynxxx
Coffee is served...pots on the boil for the tea...
Bye lynxxx.
hey MVA!
brb, have to get the cookies
*hugs lynxxx on her way out*
One of my favorite quotes: The Murder of a Beautiful Theory by a Gang of Brutal Facts
Anybody remember the old Disney movie "Darby O'Gill"? For some reason, saying "pots on the boil" just brought that to mind...I'l too weird today.
that's lovely, BabRab! :)
lol, I love that one, BabbleRabble!
i don't recall that at all, marmar, should i see it?
i'm on my holiday, sprite, so i can babble for longer!
that is lovely, MVA! For you and for me, for I get to enjoy more of your company :D
don't recall that film marmar
oh, how nice, MVA :) so we get you longer for a bit
sorry, don´t know that Disney movie at all!
if you want to see a VERY young Sean Connery singing an Irish tune, some wonderful leprecaun dance scenes and one a very VERY funny scene with the king of the leprecauns and Darby singing, it's worth a look. And if you've been to Ireland, well, it's just beautiful scenery. Actually called "Darby O'Gill and the Little People".
okay, i'm back!
owwwww NEEED to see that one :D
sean connery! sounds good!
i'll netflix it, ty for the rec.
Came out about the time of "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" and "The Three Lives Of Thomasina" I think.
macadamia chocolate chip cookies in the penalty box!

morning all! strange to see you at this time mva
Sean Connery is so young and handsome, he looks like a cartoon character in this! We love it, but the kids don't like the Banshees...neither do I!
hi jfb!
*runs off to sin bin*
*ponies up some plain choc chip cookies, as they ought not have nuts*
hi JFB!
morning, jfb!
hi jfb, holiday starts today!!
Fran, what do you mean in the penatly box...upt them in your mouth!
hi sprite
sprite, i love how your green and my orange complemnt. :)

wowwww mrP! How wonderful for both of them, and for you. Would you hug them for me and tell them I am so impressed they managed this through all the stress and changes going on in their lives?
well done to them mrp!
Fantastic mrp! Congrats to them!
argh, you are so right, dc. I better refrain from clueing until brain gets back to work.
erode
okay chic, last few plays now. :-)
eroded
oh you are right sprite! with everything that has gone on, they have acheived great things! I will go hug them now
congratulations, mrp, ma'am
oh my gosh....I'm so dumb.....sorry!!!
has it been raining, marmar?
and past tense, Marmar. Cookie time for you...
lol sprite, a lot of ro6s start out as fans though, they consider it a privilege to work for certain bands. :-)
hi babrab :) thanks
I am about to hit the sugar cookies we baked all day yesterday!
DC, the weather has been very kind to us, freezing cold but dry!
I am ashamed, lol. Switching words and meanings is my daily stupidity lately.
How did Luke handle the attention, mrp?
the cold and dry is what i hate about winter where i live. winter is desert-dry, summer is jungle-humid. i prefer the humid.
you must get the package in the next day or two... I did put a return address on it, so if anything did go awry, it will come back to me... however, that isn't possible!
eh, sprite, i do such a lot. i'm especiall good at clueing ?e instead of ?a or vice versa :)
ohhhh, I can't stand the humid! Lived in Houston for 3 months and then high-tailed it back to Dallas...
all will be well, mrP, it just takes patience. Not our forte ;)
We did the whole social story and coached him in the morning before the presentation, so it went really well! He just found me in the crowd and looked at me the whole time. That helped him alot
ok fran; just about ready to hit the sheets...
mrp, the postal service is envolved, anything is possible! postal service workings are a sub-set of bistromathics, or did you not know that?
mrp, that is so sweet, what a great feeling I'm sure.
*hugs dc* With the meds I am taking, it is a daily thing now. I say salade when I think I am saying candle, for instance... kids laugh their butts off when I talk.
Friends with family in Houston say it's like here in the summer. I recommend visitind Washington, DC in April and October, usually the 2 nicest months for weather in the year.
irrational postal logistics is their forte! :)
Luke is one big hero to me. Seriously.
holiday or not i've got to eat, but i will be back later!
ciao, mva, enjoy!
bye MVA, great to see you later as well!
bye mva!
bye mva :)
Just checking my new icon! Time for a Christmas one
how adorable, jfb!
oh, i must get lickety to upload the image of our tree
great one, JFB!
I want to bring the kids to DC in a couple years, I love it there.
cute jfb!
Mary is my daughter who 30 today
congratulations, JFB!
oh, when you're coming, you must let me know, marmar!
yikes 10 left of which 4 are fa's
go chic!
JFB, is that a picture of a Christmas play, or "Sternsingers". I don't know what they call that in English...
yup, yea, Luke ... and Maddison is special to accept the attention Luke requires and excel in her own right
Actually she says she's 20-10 not 30!!
DC, you know I will!
congrats, JFB
wow. barnes and noble really wants me to buy something, they keep sending me 25% off coupons, which combined with my usual discount, would give me 45% off.
Its a Sunday School nativity play - 25 years ago!
Very true, BabbleRabble! She is like a starlight princess to me.
go
Oh how beautiful JFB!
nice discount, dc! I wouldn´t mind that at all!
yay chic, you won!!
that was a nice close game
oh, btw, i won't be here tomorrow, as i'll be up all day, so i sleep at night for a day shift on Tuesday.
What is Barnes and Noble dc?
sleep well then dc.
Large bookstore chain here, JFB
will miss you, dc. Hope you will sleep very well and be rested for the other shift.
dang fran that was good! 324 to 337!
My kind of shop then!
here's hoping, fran. :) that'll be 18-19 hours from now, the sleep.
you'll probably dream about the grid! (I do.)
it was a great game chic!
so ttfn. nite all! and thanx fran.....
night chic!
Time to go and start the day - bye all and happy babbling
Thought I was only going to be gone for a few minutes but that was quite a while ago!
bye chic
wb jilli *hug*
i did the same thing jilli, wb
oh, hi sprite! (Had Xmas wrapping to do, etc)

jilli is a rapper?
nice thing to do as well, jilli, wrapping

what rolling stones eagles did in studios
and found it, thanks again!
Well, goodbye everone. My alloted time is over...I have to go do some.....I'm going to say it........housework. It was a very enjoyable morning with you all!
as a teenager, i confused the cooks in the kitchen i worked in cause i like the eagles. *shrug*
bye Marmar, good luck with the chores!
ciao, marmar, have a great day!
horrors mary! well, try to enjoy, bye!!
nite marmar :)
bye marmar!
cya, Marmar
today was a first for my kids too, they had an enormous fight! the first one ever in their lives
Take care. *poof*
ah, the joys of siblinghood :)
oh dear, mrp!
argh mrP... not easy, though a learning experience no doubt
what was it about mrp? (research for later)
they've moved on from it, i hope?
it took them an hour to talk it through and come back together... they were both so distressed! Both of them crying cause of the fight. I just had to sit and be neutral
then they did very well, mrP. You taught them well and they did well.
good for you, mrp, hard as i imagine that must have been.
I wonder what they've learned from it
Luke felt Maddison was being disrespectful and picking on him for not being a perfectionist.... she felt that he was being mean by saying that she wasn't nice to him 'ever'...
at the very least, jilli, they learnt it is possible to have a frightening fight with a loved one and get it settled, and still be very close and with love intact.
my little sister was viscous at me, from a very young age. I learned quickly not to fight back, as then she'd get in trouble. Once, mom found her jumping on my chest. Happily, she didn't do that again.
that's great that they actually talked it out. i hope my two will be that close.
my parents played out my sister and me against each other. Our relationship was tainted by that.
oh sprite! nasty stuff
how are the two of you now dc?
how awful, but sadly not atypical, of them, sprit. *hug*
dc, was your sister really viscous, or vicious?
yup. Some people are not ready for kids when they get them, because they are not yet mature enough themselves, alas
fran, we've gotten on famously since my time in Boston, fran, and the latter, jilli. :)
being human, i know she's quite viscous, but i did mean viscious.
that's good dc.
this is getting confusing
LOL dc... nice to see how one typo leads to another ;)
is she vicious or what?
viscous... hahaha
oh, was, yes. and was a total bully back then.
I'm beginning to wonder how to spell any of them
vicioso, therefore vicious.
when I started working and typing english business letters, I could never handle yours sincerely. I always started cins and then all was lost, lol.
parents only get one chance to raise their children .... few other tasks (if any) are as important ... the effort required is enormous and the rewards are great ... kudos to those who do it well
very true, BabbleRabble. Raising my kids is the biggest adventure of my life. I am very lucky to be able to share the load with my husband, a devoted father and partner, and to have such precious kids.
okay, this is totally off the subject, but I just saw a picture of Tiger Woods' baby girl and she is absolutely gorgeous.
not a big jump from precious kids though, Fran ;)
i guess not sprite. :-)
hi all!! dc we ended up with 14 inches of snow!!
wow Dee, and *hug*
hello, VmD
hi dee!
we got only rain this side of the mountains, but the Blue Ridge and Shenendoah Valley get 1.5-6 inches.
hi dee -- and where are you?
morning, dee!
she is the one kneedeep in snow, jilli, lol
hug right back at ya sprite... on way home from mother-in-law's Christmas Sat night, saw a car slip on ice, flip over, and land in a ditch; scared me to death. Indiana, jili. The driver got out of car with help of hubby and another motorist.
argh! Here goes another *hug* to help with the shock aftermath.
I was so thankful she was okay... kept thinking of our daughter's wreck a month ago.
ty ty ty!
I did see a huge weather pattern on TV
what will drivers do when they get more than a dusting of snow?
it was so beautifu though; even called off churches this A.M.
yes, hit the midwest and NE, plus southern ON, QC and the Atlantics rather hard.
took hubby 3.5 hours to clear our drive
hello everybody!
hopefully that included some breaks to rest his back dee.
we all just lazed around all day... and didn't even feel guilty hahah
hi, ardilla!
hi ardilla
hello, ardilla
hi ardilla!
stay home, BabbleRabble?
I thought same thing dc... anxious to see if he can get out of bed in a few hours... but I have learned to keep quiet - he doesn't appreciate my suggestions lol
need breakfast, brb with it
bring us some!!
when I was much younger, we had a blizzard that allowed us to walk on the drifts to the top of buildings ... some farmers had to chop holes in the roof of their barns so the livestock could get air
well, the kids are now painting eachother hearts and kisses and 'best friends forever'.... I love pulling out the paint and brushes during a feud :D
wow, Dan Fogelberg died
wow babble... a bit scary
he was only 56
great restoration--- art
babrab, i can't even imagine that
"Longer Than" was the first song I sang in public by myself, when I was in Junior High.
mrp, that's lovely -- and lcever of you to proive the wherewithal
clever
how did he die fran?
he had prostate cancer, diagnosed 3 years ago
wow ... usually a curable cancer; that IS sad
apparently, it was already advanced when he was diagnosed. very sad
it seems there are two kinds of prostate cancer -- one very slow, the other very aggressive and is the latter more prevalent in younger men?
could be jilli
why I get so aggravated when my hubby doesn't go for yearly checks... men can be so stubborn
*hands Dee a bowl of yoghurt with cruesli, speculaas and cranberries*
YUM YUM
what are speculaas? and cruesli?
I'm hungry -- time for a bedtime banana and glass of milk
it is a special winter cruesli, Dee, only temporarily available!
in granola bars here
is it a grain?
cruesli is crunchy muesli... speculaas is a dutch cook treat.
http://users.hubwest.com/hubert/specul aas.html
ah! evil breakfast!
it has tiny balls of speculaas in it, mrP, not much, just a taste surprise every once in a while!
speculaas... now there it is again! so it is a cookie?
those sound good sprite
link to recipe at 3.12 am, mrP
we don't have speculaas here
http://cruesli.welsnel.nl/
you can have it, mrP, if you follow the recipe. Or I can send you some. It is delicious.
oh you can't send it sprite!
fireworks
wtg Dee!!!!! Well done!
yay dee!!!
why not, mrP?
ty ty... off to check email
you do have a forward address, I take it?
bye dee!
YAY dee!!!
sleep well all or have a great day!!! Hugs to you all!!
ty jili *poof*
g'night, dee!
*hugs* Take care, Dee
the speculaa recipe reads like spice american biscuits.
spiced, sweetened american biscuits.
those are probably close, dc!
any food products sent to australia get taken at customs and disposed of via burning
ooh, that wouldn't be good
i think my friends family - the one with the dutch grandfather - makes them, as the recipe is familiar.
can´t I disguise them, mrP?
morning all, baby grid today!!
hi pink!
cruesli looks like muesli with cranberries?
hi pink!
morning, pink!
no news of joso, i gather?
here's hoping he's away visiting or such.
I do hope joso is ok
no, cruesli is crunchy muesli, dc. The cranberries are special to this winter edition of this brand.
i saw he's not been on Facebook in about a week, either.
hi pink, and bye all -- time for bed -- 27 left
JoSo was on babble yesterday, dc, why?
ah, okay. there's non-cruchy muesli?
ah, several of us haven't seen him in some time, and were a bit worried, sprite.
we haven't seen him for ages sprite
night jilli!
bye jilli
I saw joso yesterday
sleep well, jilli :)
dc, muesli isn't crunchy.
8.27 am in yesterday´s chatlog, dc and mrP
muesli is just the grains and raisins, it is not really crunchy.
OK, I'm OFF!!!
hugs to you, jilli, and take care!
all muesli i've seen appeared crunchy, but i've been allergic to all the ones i've seen, so i've never tried it. They've all had buckwheat or malted barley in them.
*poof*
Is this cookie like the speculaa? http://tinyurl.com/333t6y
not really, Fran. These are ginger cookies.
i'll mix up some speculaas next weekend, they sound easy to make, and tasty.
ah, time for me to make chocolate mini muffins for school! bbs
they are, dc, good luck! Bye mrP, have fun and hug your kids from me.
later mrp!
ciao, mrp!
i love that there's mace in them. i use mace a lot similarly-spiced things, though a lot of people here don't.
man of many talents, dc :D You are special.
i am far from the only man who cooks and bakes, sprite. :)
cooks, bakes, speaks 20 or more languages, can talk about feelings, babbles, makes music... and so on... and so on...
and has the most perfect manners... modesty and as scrabbler and i found out a house rabbit........... i agree with Sprite she is our Princess and she is always right dc s..... by the way Hello Babblers!!!
hi lore!
lol, hi Lore, darling *hug*
hello, lore
hi loredana!!
the rabbit has been being social lately, and letting me pet him. he's running from the younger cat less, so she's chasing him less.
hugs for Princess Aloha Fran Hey Pink Hola dc s
yay! found all the 6s
part of that is he prefers to drink from their waterbowl rather than the water bottel in his cage.
clever Fran!!! yay
woot Fran! I am down to 9 total, but 3 of those are 6s!
woo, fran!
my cats and rabbits share the water dishes the rabbits you will notice go around scenting everything claiming everything as theirs
there's a strange do6/24 sprite, i needed the chat clue for that one
de6/24 she means.
how do rabbits scent things?
yes, that's what i meant, thanks dc!
I have one that means more lifeless.
there's a second one spritey
their scent glands are under their chin you watch him rubbing his chin on things
and I have a do5 that looks like it means sweet
with their chin, dc
it means quite, but from french sweet, sprite; i looked it up.
oh, yes, he did that no water bowl before drinking, as i wash it daily.
quiet, sprite, not quite.
thanks dc!
...to water bowl... (i'm a typo-a-rama tonight) :D
good word too, it's a himalayan cedar
the de6/24? neat.
thanks sprite, i needed that do5
i need learn to burrito the rabbit for claw-trimming.
sprite, for the de6, add a smell but with a different second vowel.
thanks, wouldn´t have found that cedar without your clue
cool sprite!
do you have the co6/24?
nope, only co6/27!
we've had the co6/24 before, it's another name for a pain medication
it starts like a "secret language" and ends with a bunch of vowels.
ahhhh, yes, thanks, that one! It is the ending that always eludes me.
ok, one 6 left and it is either C, O or D.
and now i have 5 left, 3 4s and 2 5s
you're such a de6/21, sprite :D
de6/21?
I am down to 6, 1x5, 1x6, rest 4.
that is the one, Fran and dc!
woo hoo!
awwwww found it, and thanks dc :D
de6/21??? please
sorry de6/24
just clued, pink
LOL, that's been his clue for everyone tonight (not that you're not special sprite) :-)
pink, de + a smell with a different second vowel
lol Fran, ok, I feel thoroughly chastised. Back with both feet on the firm ground :P
well, in your case sprite, the clue was totally appropriate and not facetious. :-)
I hope so, Fran, grin
indeed, so fran, on all counts.
???????
de + form of to be with inserted vowel then?
pink, try this, de + vowel + it's a himalayan ce*** tree
pink needs the second de6/24 i think
oh, lol, I am still clueing the 21, since pink asked that one first. I see now it is remedied.
it is the second/last de six
unfledged /uhn-FLEJD/, adjective: 1. Lacking the feathers necessary for flight. 2. Not fully developed; immature.
those were the two clues i gave you pink
good word dc
de6/24, de + **e to a grecian urn + **e you okay?
you beat me to the urn, Fran, LOL.
what kind of word is that lol
one we don't have to use in regular conversation unless you know someone from the Himalayas.
Can anyone help with de 6/24 (the last one)
lol sprite, it's my favorite **e clue. :-)
just clued anike, scroll down a bit
that was a bit of struggle! thanks for the pain staking help lol
I trained my inia to water my de6. Now if I can teach her to put out the etna, I can sit quietly with my etui and pet my anoa. Ywis.
Just seen that, and found it at the same time.TY. Fireworks
lol, no problem pink, don't like to see people struggle. :-)
well done anike
ROFL sprite!
yay anike!!!
LOL sprite
what does ywis mean anyway?
it means For Sure, as exclamation.
it means 'certainly' fran, variant of iwis; archaic
just looked it up :)
oh cool!
now, how is it pronounced?
it is one of my favorite babblets. There is a dutch word, ´gewis´, that means the same and is archaic too. Must be related.
indubitably, sprite :)
3 left!
iwis!
EEwees or OOwees in English, based on era and spellings. I for former, Y for latter.
me too, Fran! one D and one O and one C, lol.
cool, i've learned my something new for the day
i have 2 Rs and 1 D
I used to think in terms of "when in doubt, mumble." now I just toss out some babble babblets and change the subject
lol BabbleRabble!
lol BR
ROFL babrab! I'd like to be there for that. :-)
2 left!
both Rs
I am stuck on 3 still
Uno!
ro 4 -- cad
yay go Fran and Sprite!!!
my last one is a 5
got the cad, thanks. It is probably a simple word for each missing letter, lol.
happen again, Fran?
yep, mine have been sprite
that was it sprite!!!
past tense or what sounds like set to go
yayyyyy Fran! Well done!
firewords!
congrats, Fran
yayyyy frannie!!!!!
yay Fran well done!!!
thank you!!
is the fa6/27 obscure?
as usual, i had all the wierdos, it was normal words at the end.
not if you know me, pink
pink, not obscure if you're into fantasy
we even have a babbler by that name.
thanks guys... i didnt see the E in the second row
congrats, fran!
i know pink, it was twisty
ok, found the last C, was one I have entered before, just mistyped, probably. The secret language.
go sprite go!
there is the Oc5...
yep, it was hiding today
and da4 da + act. Fireworks :D
antidisestablismentarians is a longest word that can be made in with the grid, were it not for 13-letter limit.
woopee!!! Sprite
yay sprite!!!!
that randomly occurred to me the other day.
congrats, sprite
congrats, sprite!
thanks :)
the other da4/6 was my last 4. :-)
25 letters, dc? LOL
lol Fran! Great minds get silly alike, right?
ro6/21 that would be Fran when she is helping out hubby
lol, that's right lore...which i haven't done since i was about 7 months pregnant with my son. :-)
how are the babes Fran ?
and those times i just went along to eat dinner.
lol Fran
ok, I am gonna do something chore like before the kids get home for lunch. Have a great day and/or night, all of you. Your comapny was again a treasure for me.

bye Sprite & Fran
bye everyone!
bye fran and sprite
Hello Loredana & Pink !
hey lynxxx, how has your day been?.
morning everyone
hello Lynxxx nice little grid today not giving me any trouble nearly finished
morning katie; wb, lynxxx
hi katy
Fantastic - beautiful weather and got our new dog today
morning katie
TY DC
how fabulous, lynxxx!
brillian lynxxx, tell us more :-)
thats nice...what breed is it?
Hi Katie
yay lynxxx
Stewart Little - 2.5 yo white & brindle smaller male greyhound...never raced but been in racing kennels most of his life till now. He seems to have a really really nice nature
so cage-trained?
not sure what that means DC?
speaking from bitter experience, insure him and insure him now!! I'm thinking of getting my wages transfered straight to the vets :-)
kennel-raised means likely he's accustomed to being in a cage when unattended and/or not being exercised.
that is lovely lynxxx, i hope all are very happy with him!!!
Is his name Stuart Little?
Not sure how they do it here DC - he has been fostered for a month (in home environment) and seems perfectly at home in the house now - in fact won't outside by himself. Exercise - what is that! they can only go on max. 20 minutes walks (without building up) say once or twice a day. Stewart Little is his kennel name
cute name :)
interesting, so greyhounds are low-endurance?
they're a breed i know little about.
Katie - yes I know what you mean...our late dog would have cost us about $10,000 (min) over the last 3 years..diabetes, 2 knee ops, heart etc
I had Crumble at the vets again this morning so now I have one poorly cat feeling sorry for itself, and one upset cat because her sister isn't well, it's been one of those days!
no fun, katie, hope crumble looks up soon.
13 left bbl, time for brekkie!!
http://gap.grv.org.au/index.html
njoy, pink!
DC look at this site - Stewart is on the front page
Thank you dc, got really bad toothache so was phoning in sick anyway but then had to dash to the vets as well. Honestly Mari had to offer to help I was in such a state!
bye Pink
what a pretty pup!
He is isn't he, he didn't have the best reputation but his looks certainly got me.
Oh Lynxxx he is lovely :-) I hope you are very happy together
i'm sure he'll work out lovely for you, lynxxx
is your tooth doing better, katie?
TY we are all really taken with him
I wouldn't worry about reputations Crumble nearly didn't get bought as she was really hissy and scratchy and now she is the mommy's girl out of them all
I've got an appointment for the dentist tomorrow and am just popping the painkillers at the moment. Should have done something about it last week but was so busy. Still have to take time of now as i'm in no fit state to drive!!!!!
here's to a good resolution to your med issue, too, katie!
Oil of Cloves is great for toothache - just don't get any on your tongue
thanks lynxxx, i'm willing to try anything!
two words to go...
go, biggirl! need any clues?
ae 4,4 and de 6,21
go biggirls - 10 left here but can't see tham for looking
an ae4.4plane
joan is such a de6/21, she brought me a cake.
one to go...
Got the ae one!
ae - what we breathe, british, sort of
BINGO!!!! FIreworks!
yay biggirl! congrats!
Yay Biggirls !!!
really how much more "mort" can you be than "mort"?
yayyyy biggirls!!!! well done!
morter than a doornail as the expression goes :)
Happily we must have all tried it Phand - even though it is foolish
Morning Babblers
Hi Nono
morning nono!!
morning, nono!
true enough. And I did forget about that expression, DC
Did you get any ice, DC? it was just a rain event here in Frederick
lynxx congrats on your new dog, greyhounds are beautiful animals
TY Nono
a friend of mine adopted one several years ago and she told me a funny story about her dog
Ohhh! Lynxxx, you got a grey?!?! I would like to have one, but don't think husband likes them.
was it a racing dog?
they went away on vacation and left the dog in daughters care
the dog got out and went around the neighborhood looking for "mama"
they went after her calling her name and the more they called for her the faster the dog ran
chased her for several blocks before they finally caught up and were able to leash her
I haven't had much to do with them before, but there is so many around as the Adopt-A-Greyhound is very strong here...I have been really taken with them. Bred for racing but didn't race Phand - maybe as he is small for a male. Nono - a grey owner told me to use Smackos as a training treat/reward for coming back - if they accidently get off lead
how old is he/what is his name? I am sure you will enjoy him alot.
fireworks!!
yeah, Pink!
Stewart Little - 2.5 years - look at this site - as you can see he is on front pagehttp://gap.grv.org.au/index.html
congrats, pink!
Congrats Pink !!
woohooo congrats pink!!
i must away, for shift turnover and like. hope you all have a great day/night. :)
goodbye DC - see you tomorrow
bye bye DC
bye DC
won't be on tomorrow, as i'll be sleeping for a Tuesday day shift, so until the 19th grid-time. :)
be well {poof}
what an adorable face. How could you not fall in love with him! He is beautiful
he is a sweetie lynxxx, im not a doggy person, but i just wanted to cuddle stewart
bye DC!
Phand - there was about 20-30 greys at the pickup today and truthfully they were all beatiful. Pink - which is exactly what he wants too! so affectionate
congratulations on the new addition lynxxx....have a good day all, one must resume studying!!!
I know, it can be very difficult to pick just one. I have heard it say, once you go grey you never go back. Also, I understand that they are not too overwhelming to have more than one.
Thats funny - my nail lady says exactly the same about black nail polish - and its true! Yes - evryone I have met seems to have at least 2. They are couch potatos, need minimal excercise, little grooming, affectionate, clean - what more could you want! they even suit apartment living. Here they do not have to be muzzled either - just wear a special collar and be on lead
you wear black nail polish?
Anyway must stop gushing. Still have 10 to find or use the list tomorrow. Goodnite Phand & everyone- have a good day.
Love the black nail polish - looks good with silver jewellery...and it really worries the young goth types when they see an 'old' lady with it on. You should try it
night lynxxx. I'm going back to bed too. See you all later.
sleep well lynxxx and katie
anyone have the DO 5/16?
I think its french for soft phan
Hi everyone, I have one left. The second de6 24. Has it been clued?

thanx your majesty
de 6/24 is more of the de 4 above it
there are 2 de6/24's which one do you need
the 2nd one, thanks
it is tall cedar tree by definition
Nono, rhw ew7/36 is the past tense of preparing something. Re**y, set, go - might help.
thanks, will start looking
Thank you queen!!
Nono, sorry, my fingers were wrong at the beginning. Glad you got it!

congrats phan
hi Aloy, small but somewhat challenging
and now i must be off to shovel some snow
happy babbling
ah, Nono, sounds like I will learn some newbies! Careful shoveling!
"Have tea...will babble" - hi all !
hi there, montreal
hi Aloy - got any snow your way ?
lol, we are in fla. right now.. having a cold snap this morning as the front slipped south.. but NO snow!.. how about you?
lots and lots - 3 quarters of an hour shovelling yesterday...since then, more snow and the dr***** snowplow showed up many times - i have an, at leat 3 foot high snowbank on sidewalk and in the street blocking entrance and driveway - it's at least 6 feet wide ! - a small mountain...
at least*
ooof snow...grrrr...I had to shovel for 5 hours yesterday
wow.. i really don't miss that.. if we were still in NE Ohio, I believe we would be expecting tons of snow today! Some days were so bad that we couldn't get up the driveway and had to shovel a "tunnel" to the house.. ugh
5 hours ? that's what i'll need today carlee - and good morning to you !
my drive about 25 meter long
myy driveway about 25 m long and I had drifts over 2 feet deep...we are 1 neighbourhood block from lake
ahhh... that explains it... we have drifts and snowplows
is the snow soft and fluffy or wet and heavy?
packing snow
we have a big snow fort in front lawn
packed - when facing the wind, snow particles were actually painful...
hope some kids are at least making snowmen.. used to get my kids to start their ball in the driveway.. every little bit helps
my daughter would take my loaf pans and make bricks for her igloo.. took too long so she switched to bigger molds
hi peeps! Whilst everyone is on the subject of snow - I thought I´d point out that I am currently in Girona, about 50 miles north of Barcelona and it is snowing!!
The locals are going nuts - they havent seen snow in years!!!!
hi Dachef ! - even there ??
wow, Dachef.. doesn't sound like global warming in Spain
its only a small covering, nothing much to write home about, but you´d think that it was the fianl reckoning!!!!
lol
got 50 words...but getting tougher...
took me forever to find the second de6.24, looked it up and it is an Indian cedar tree.. oh well, maybe I will remember it for next time, maybe not, lol
Aloy, a hint please
haven't got that one Aloy...
sure.. starts out with the same letters as what you put under your arms so that you won't offend anyone..
and ends with have a m**velous day
ty Aloy

All of the Buffalo schools are closed--SNOW DAY! I was supposed to do my monthly stint as school doctor this AM but now I am free for 4 hrs before I go to the office.
I'm probably going to kick myself, but can anyone help me with my last? It's the co6/24.
what is wrong annie!?? do you need help ?
yay, was hoping you would get a break, Scrabbler.. but I remember you mentioning that driveway of yours
dont have it queen...
crack the secret co** and I will play you a tune on the p**no
Yup, Aloy, the snowplow guy just finished my driveway. We got at least a foot of snow and there is more up north in the city. The local school here is open.
tx aloy, always forget that one...
arrgh, bet the local kids are not happy..
Thanks, Aloyisius. I thought I tried that but must have monkeyed all around it. And I'm finally done!
I embedded that word into my grey matter a few wks ago when it was here.
yay, congrats Queen!!!!
And my nephews' school is open.
Yippeeeee Queen!!
wtg queen !
i am amazed at the amount of babblets I just 'know' now
it certainly helps me get through the games faster
Thanks all. Almost time to get my husband up, so I'll go pretend I actually slept. Good luck! :)
And they help immensely in other word games and puzzles, don't they?
true mrp... even I know some of them now...
bye, Queen.. see you next time
mind you, I have no idea waht a lot of them mean. I went searching for uncouth the other day.... there is no couth btw
nite nite queen :)
bye queen
oh yes scrabs! I have done really well with target word and crossword
And we can incise and excise but there is no cise.
well, i looked up the third fa4.8 this morning bec it also has a past tense in the grid.. and i laughed because it seems rather an ugly word to mean "apply cosmetics"
mrp!...I opened the url and your house is beautiful!!! I could understand your being loathe to leave such a serene house but I am sure your next home will be just as wonderful
oh annie, I am mortified at what is available!
Hmm, I am wondering what that word is, Aloy...searching.
mrp! and the prices they want!
got them aloy...the past tense especially sounds funny...
I so want to pull out of the sale
I truly do
can you do that, mrp?
can't be done i guess mrp ??
brb.. need some bagel power!
later aloy
it can be done montreal, but with a price
a price you are willing to pay mrp ??
yes montreal, it certainly is
well then, what is stopping you ? i'm sorry, i don't know the story behind the sale...
if u dont want to talk about it, np :)
bagel power worked.. fireworks and I'm off to scrub floors today and clean out the freezer.. fun, fun! Happy Babbling, all.. see you next grid..(-:
wtg aloy and hagd !
congrats, aloy
most school in the province are closed - most roads are only passable - it is minus 12 C but with the wind chill factor, it feels like minus 20 C (around minus 4 F)
schools* even !
68 down, 21 to go - BBL - happy babbling all !
oh, me not being able to work, not being able to contribute to the house and costs... we have a beautiful home that we have to sell cause the insurance won't pay for my very rare illness
sorry to hear about that (((mrp)))
after 7 years of hospital and surgery, we are falling behind with the living expenses going up 40% and the interest rates on housing going up to 9%
sorry to hear that too, mrp..is there nothing you can do to force the insurance company to pay for your arm surgeries...have to spoken to an attorney about this dilemma?
*have you
so wish things were different. no way the insurance will pay
there are 57 specific illnesses they pay for... mine was ultra rare and not on the list...
I wish things were different for you also {{mrp}}..perhaps an apartment till you find a new home
dammm the list!
yes annie, it will work out
I have 20 left and need to got to sleep! it is already tuesday!

I was checking e-mail. Good night, mrp.
Stay warm, Luc!
"POOF"
tx scrabs -- "REAL POOF"
Is it just you and me now, Annie?
scrabbler, how is your friend Mary?
I visited on Saturday evening. She finished her last radiation treatment on Thursday and will now continue chemo. She is extremely weak--cannot walk, so physical and occupational therapy are the main focuses now. There are 2 small Xmas trees in her room, and the kids were all there. I fed the baby. It is SO sad, so surreal. The good news is that the tumors are shrinking...will they disappear?? We can only wait.
Scrabbler, Very sad. Is she home? How many children does she have? I pray for her recovery every night
The kids are 7 (girl), 3 1/2 (boy) and the 10 wk old baby (girl). To see them all on the bed, cuddling with their sick mom is heartbreaking and just overwhelming with emotions.
hello you two
hi bb!
She is still in the hospital and the next step is to go to a rehab facility. I am sure her husband will try to have her home for at least several hrs on Xmas day.
Hi Betsy!
scrabbler, truly heartbreaking...an infant too in the mix..so sad
i do not do well durin gthe holidays. you know classic depression and all yet when i read what you write scrabbler, it seems so self indulgent. not only your friend but one of mine has been diagnosed with als, another had their wife die.........so no time for me to have a pity party for meself
bb, love your Christmas "tree"
*smile* I think that the saguaro is the most beautiful cactus
There has been so much tragedy that I am involved with in the last few motnhs--terrible diagnoses, deaths.
I have found just 31 words--they are not jumping out at me.
Yours is a very difficult profession
28 words here...
I have 33 and I started at the flip. I do have the 8 though so am pleased.
Yes, and it reminds me to be grateful for good health.
An 8? Ah, yes. I didn't review the stats.
clue, clue
Pretty please, a clue?
when you put things onto tape or paper you have re* your thoughts
or words
Aha. TY! I had just found the co6 a moment ago.
thank you, bb, as soon as I saw your clue the word popped out at me
all new bands want to make a black round piece of vinyl or now they want to make cds....
I was resistinbg the grid until you gave me the 8! Morning all...
morning Uni.
hi Uni! resistance is nil
Aha, Uniquity has been sucked in. You cannot resist the Babble forces! Where is your Mom, Uni?
work work work! She got yesterday off and paid today ;)
Strange words here today
That's not promising
babblets galore
well i am up to 42 now
They must be, Annie, because I cannot see anymore normal words. I am up to 48 and am ready to use the list.
i only have 35 but I am going slowly and enjoying my morning coffee
i am having lunch with my friend with als. first time since his diagnosis so i am lingering here too.
I always laugh after I open the list. I start to see so many obvious words. Aha!
That is a miserable illness, Betsy--SO sad.
you know at least with alzheimer's you get to the point where you are unaware.........
that is an awful illness, bb, so sad
But with ALS it is a slow paralyzing death from respiratory failure.
and he is somewhat estranged from his children so he lives alone. bloody kids but maybe this will be the catalyst to put it to rights.
I hope so, Betsy
Help with cr5 anyone?
i mean he is a bit difficult and most likely made his miscues in the past, but he is their father after all.
I hope so too
cr + vowel + either **
TY, Annie!
yw, scrabbs
Ditto that.......and you got that without the list?!
bb, my monkeys got that one, not me
*whew* but I am always greatful for monkeys like that!
It's always nice when the Babblet monkeys show up.
I am feeding them organic bananas
The last de6?
*grateful*
Good for you, Annie--keeping them healthy.
maybe that is my problem today, i obviously cannot spell
de ----first 3 letters of what we use so we do not offend people and a board game ***ts
that was from a clue...i amended it somewhat
anyone for ae 5/10 please
I didn't get the first part of the clue but the second part helped me figure it out
Eagle nest, Annie
good for you, scrabbler
ae5 is where eagles live
thanks, scrabbs
sounds like "fresh" oxygen
HOHOHO,good morning all.................8-)
that de stumped me
morning hodag!
Ho ho, Hodag!
and thanks, bb
hi Hodag, Ho Ho Ho!!!
hiya bb
How is Mousey doing, hodag? I miss his antics here (somewhat).
hey Scrabbler,Mousey is doing fine, hiya Annie
It always made me laugh when he came up with new screennames, such as Inge3.
he is a stinker some times, but we'll keep him!..........;-)
BBS--I am going to try to find my newspaper in the snow at the end of the driveway. I suspect the snowplow buried it and I will find it in the spring.
happy hunting!
No luck with the paper--buried! And you missed a good laugh: as I searched in the snow my left leg sunk into the snow at the gully at the end of my driveway. All of sudden I sunk! So my left leg is wet now.
scrabbler, quick, change your clothes, I am being a mother
oh no ,that sounds cold brrrrrrrrr!!
Well, I will roll the leg of my pajamas up as I am too lazy to go upstairs to change.
Aloy has mentioned that the 3rd fa4/8 is weird and I cannot find it.
well deserved lazy morning, eh scrabbs
I cant find that fa 8 either
Haha, I was quite lazy yesterday too.
sounds like something I would do.............lol
fa8? there is no fa8 only the re8
When I sunk in I quickly looked for any people that might have witnessed me.
fa 4/8 rhymes with--if it is not soft it is h***
It is the 3rd fa4/8 she means.
got what you mean. i am slow you know
i just clued it
only 35 to go and no list only your help!
and then past tense the fa4/8
TY Annie!
yw scrabbler, my wet friend
okay make that 34
gotta go now bye.
bye hodag!
bye hodag....stay out of snow drifts like our friend Scrabs
hi all, found a 7 all by myself
may I have a clue for the 8 please
Yahoo Periwinkle.
re8==to have taped a CD
I just got up, didn't sleep well, no snow here!!!
phone
thanks Scrabs, might have found that on my own if I were more awake
2nd fe6?
Consciousness is overrated, Periwinkle.
Good morning, all. Scrab, the second fe6 is a felt hat
well, look who it is, Good Morning Scarlet
TY, Scarlet! Good to see you! Are you OK?
LOL Scrabs
no coffee yet
Hello, peri and good day to all. Yes, Scrabbler, we are well... very busy with visiting grandchildren, daughter's birthday tomorrow (26) and cooking, etc. We are super cold, but not having to deal with your weather, thank goodness!
Soooo good to see you all. {{{peri}}} Will be writing this afternoon... when I will take some "me" time... LOL I'll trade being very tired for the looks on our darlings' faces and all the hugs and kisses...
lucky you Scarlet
I know... and now, I'm getting teary-eyed just remembering their loving ways...
how old are you grandchildren, Scarlet?
All of the Buffalo city schools are closed, but not the suburban ones. The city plows need a day to get the sidestreets done today.
The South Carolina brother and sister are nearly 7, the little girl, and just 5 in September, peri. The Ohio children are 7 and 4... two sisters... the loves of our lives.
re5/14 is stumping me, or, actually I am giving up
FE6 is the type of hat men used to wear
think of the plant that grows along water and don't double the vowel Scrabs
Great ages, Scarlet! Funny and precious! My favorite age group is 2 1/2 - 7. Too many kids become bratty at 7. Don't let it happen to your little ones, Scarlet
hi all new player
Oh, Scrabbler... the SC daughter who visited yesterday lived in Syracuse last year... and she went screaming back to the South after that record-breaking snow last year... She was between Mexico, NY and Syracuse... nearly lost her mind having to go to school every day... she's a gradeschool teacher!
welcome cheri
Hi cheri--welcome!
Scrabs did that clue help?
Hey, Scarlet, it builds character!
ty scrabbler
welcome cheri, be warned, it is very addictive
hi bbnazxx
I am still thinking about that, Betsy--is that re5/14??
They are simply amazing (I am very biased)... special, sensitive, talented and considerate... the girls have been fabulous mothers.
hi pabtrek
Hi, Cheri... welcome to the best on-line word game in history!
Yes. also sounds like the thingie that makes a clarinet mouthpiece work
hi cheri, welcome
hello pab
hi bbnaz
how do i get a avater please
Sorry, Betsy, I need the first re5/14.
oh well so do i then *blushing*
Cheri, you have to go "pro" by paying under $16 to join for a lifetime membership.
You must "go pro"--lifetime fee = $14.95 USD
Good morning, bbnaz and pabtrek!
Haha, Betsy.
oh do you have to pay
but you can play for free for two weeks and then you will lose sight of the tile stats and word stats. still free, just no "extras"
morning scarlet!
Good morning, is there an ew7, if so can I get a clue, please?
You don't HAVE to, unless you want to keep the tile and word stats past the 14 day trial period.
Cheri, you can play for a few weeks to try it out, but then you can have an avatar and some other perks.
morning, Scarlet
No ew7, Marc
No marc. there is not an ew7
No ew7 Marc.
and cheri you can play for free forever if you wish. some do
re7 x 2 and we7
ok ty all xxxx
Thanks Scrabbler
Done! Betsy, that re5/14 = to happen again.
TY all for clues. Now I must accomplish some chores that were not done yesterday when I had a migraine. Enjoy the day!
thanks Scrab!
congrats Scrabbler
Have a peaceful day, Scrabbler!
and congratulations! as for your migraines.....email me at betsy baker at yahoo.com for what my daughter is prescribed...amazing stuff
I need a clue for one of the re7's I have the one which you might do if you were a spy but not the other one?
came from neurologist at Barrows Neurological Institute. simply amazing bullet
hi, all. any clues for the second DE6/24?
bbnaz, may I e-mail you too, a dear friend of mine gets bad migraines
bbnaz... what a wonderful name you have! Sounds like a brand name for some kind of harmonic embrace... "Speak your mind, but ride a fast horse" by Betsy Baker... LOL
oh Annie had a great one too for the de6.24
the stuff you put under your arms (first three letters) then the board game that hangs on the wall that is found in pubs ***ts
the other re7, please?
*laughs* yes Scarlet, speaking my mind sounds like me.
"have more tea...will then babble some more" - hi all ! - 21 words to go...
I only have the one you have marc
Good morning, Lucien! How is your back and shoulders after having dealt with snow yesterday?
did that help Angel?
*are*
both aching scarlet and tx for asking - talking of naughty, guess what i've been doing the last 30 minutes ?
"re**y set go" marc for the other re7
Okay, I'll bite... doing something wonderful for your wife, I bet! You are such a sweetie!
Probably shovelling for another visitor?
having coffee and an brownie for breakfast
yes and no scarlet... i shovelled the driveway so she that she can get out...
so that she* even
fireworks for me...short and sweet, today
*a*
Thanks montreal got it
wtg Angel !
yay marc !!
yay for Angel
LOL... Oh, Luc... you just can't help yourself... peri, please pass the brownie tray... I have my coffee.. Yahoo for Angel!
okay, passing tray of brownies to Scarlet
Betsy--what is the med? I know a neurosurgeon at Barrow--I went to high school and med school with him.
I want brownies too!
Ohhhh, just what I needed... thank you dear Peri!
brownies ? if i may peri ?
okay one for you montreal, I really like your given name
Congrats Angel & Marc!
james frey is the doc. it is a combination of three different pills taken at once.
*Watching flurry of activity in peri's kitchen*
and one for you too Scarbs, now no more left
well double tx to you peri !! feel free to use it or a diminutive thereof ...
Feverfew/vit B/magnesium? I take that combo daily.
will have to bake some more later, will maybe make some blondies too and some easy fudge
congrats angel and marc
**tackling everyone to get the gooey brownie in the middle of the pan**
"avoiding scrabs' tackle and diving for the tray"
ascomp w/codeine, halioperidol and dex
Watch out... Scrabbler ALWAYS wins...
knocks the bugger out before it can take hold. they give the cocktail in injection form if you go to the er
I am stuck with 34 left to find
"wake up in a daze...don't know what happened..."
Yes, Scarlet, I could hurt someone, especially when chocolate is the goal!
LOL, Scrabbler... please attend to Luc... he seems a touch dazed...
ah YOU scrabs happened...
make that "haloperidol"
Wow, that is quite a powerful combo, Betsy. I take 440 mg of naproxen and that usually knocks it out.
daughter clara has had them since 2nd grade (now in 11th) and when they are bad, that is the only relief
**attending to Luc's injuries, especially the concussion** **casualty of the chocolate wars**
naproxen, ibu, any of the otc do NOTHING for her.
actually there is question as to whether or not they are "true" migraines as imitrex didn't do a thing for her
"thanking scrabs... forgot what goal was...somewhat dizzy"
The pain is not so bad for me as is the dazed/confused/foggy feeling.
but no organic reason for them can be found. she is being treated for tmd right now though. they suspect that causes some of the cluster headaches
Scarlet have you made fudge with chocolate morsels and sweetened condensed milk
and as I said, that cocktail is the "silver bullet" and not used regularly
The best way to prevent injury when chocolate is available is to have an abundance of chocolate!
Cluster HAs are severe!
chocolate ? what year are we ?
Well, I must prevent another migraine by getting breakfast now before blood sugar plummets too low.
Luc, words...make words.
it has been an extremely frustrating medical journey to say the least
enjoy scrabs...
Scrabb...are you still here?
words ? chocolate ? wars ? am lost again...
bbl - off to drive younger to school
later BB
Lucien, are you okay?
Something amazing and wonderful happened Saturday evening... grannymaxxx's husband, Milt, called me from Waldorf, Maryland to thank me for the card and the letter I wrote to the family. He was such a nice person...
Scarlet, did you see my question re fudge
Yes, peri, and I have made that type of fudge... I usually use a jar of mallow creme to make mine... and the texture is pure heaven.
lol yes peri, am fine - just fooling around re: scrabs knocking me out cold to capture last brownie...
thought you had, Scarlet
mallow creme instead of the milk?
Waldorf is not far from where I grew up
and good morning, all!
HI Takuma
Then he told me about the family being around her bed when she passed... he said it was "beautiful", and that the Babble site meant so much to her, and the friendships that developed as a result of her love of the game. Hi, Takuma!
good morning Taku !
that is lovely, Scarlet
Mallow creme and a can of regular evaporated milk, peri.
okay, how much mallow creame Scarlet, I will be making it for the ladies in the rental office
I have the evaporated milk already
wonderful moment with Milt i'm sure scarlet...
Peri, I will send you the recipe this afternoon... do you need it now? It was remarkable, Luc... one which I shall treasure... he was so very nice, and we talked for about 45 minutes...
I can wait til this afternoon, thanks Scarlet
Okay, dear... I will get the cookbook at the keyboard when I write... you will love this fudge.. and it can be made as a double decker type, with chocolate on the bottom and peanut butter fudge on the top... one pan of stuff... then a cup of choc. chips and a cup of peanut butter chips...
I still have 25 words to find, and don't want to finish too quickly... then I'll have to do the laundry... L:OL
take your time then scarlet - got 19 left myself...
WHAT DO THE 7'S BEGIN WITH
LOL... Luc... sometimes it's hard to slow down... one word leads to another... Hi, LuvB... please don't shout... we can see you...
RE7 x 2 and WE7
clue for the last de 6 please
Any clues for the o in the middle of the grid. I have one which is past tense for the paddle in a boat oa5/12 anyone know what the other two are?
re 7 - past tense of the re 6
no need to shout LuvB...
a person who is more of the de4,6
de6 two vowels after the de4 before it
apologize
just kidding luv...
oc5/12 and or5/12 - the latter being an anagram of the boat one.
oc5/12 - oc plus the beginnings of what you do with a book.
that is the first de 6 - sorry i need the last de 6 / 24
Good morning, Haz!
have a thought and change first vowel marc
hi hazel and tx Angel35
Thanks Haz got the oc now looking for the or
Good morning Scarlet and everyone!
last de6 = underarm ***dorant + i ***e you !
Why I love you too, monte.
Morning all.
Good morning, moonwoof.
HI there Haz, you missed my brownies
"warm feeling...someone loves moi !"
I did? You didn't save any for me?
Haz can't seem to find that stupid or5/12, any other clue?
*many do, Luc*
or5 - what the author might say about his book to an editor. Or o plus what you do to a book.
No Haz, there was a mad scramble and they were gone in an instant, need to make some more
help with the we7. the or5,12 o+what you do with a book
there's an or- that is the name of a type of mountain nymph
How could we not? Quarks attract odd bonds. =)
ahhhhh (((scarlet)))) - and i lost a one-sided battle with scrabs to get the last brownie... concussion etc...
So, it's not your fault, peri, it was the manners of the mob?
we7 - a past tense of a tired word
I know, Luc... that Scrabbler should be a hockey player... she knocked you out cold... LOL
mornin babblers!
correct Haz
I have that one, it does not come from that 'o'
:) moon .... and HI !
I see it all clearly now, peri. You're absolved.
Morning Eva
Hello EvaNadine!
Hi Eva
:D
Okay, Marc, back to the drawing board.
how is everyone, this fine + chilly monday?
In the future, I will set one aside for you Haz
I got it, it is a od4/5
od4 - follow a type of poem with a vowel?
Thanks peri, not that I'm demanding preferential treatment or anything.
Happily not Too chilly Eva. Somehow the big storm everyone kept saying to watch for hasn't shown up here.
okay have 17 left, bbs to finish
hi Eva - cool (minus 20 C with windchill factor) but the sun is out !!!
Thanks Haz
Good day, Eva! Has the man found a starting day yet?
Evanadine - it's cold here as well, but it's pleasant out provided you wrap up warmly.
See you later peri.
January 7 is the big day! just negotiating salary now. :)
yay for Eva and companion !
Great news, Eva!! :-) That is Russian Christmas, isn't it... Yippee!!
yes, its great news!
Later, peri! Oh, Eva... I feel as though it happened to someone in my family, I am so happy!
How many f 6's are there, I have one fa and two fe, is that all of them?
back for a bit, Scarlet I was looking through my Toll House cook book and found a recipe for Mashmallow Cream Fudge, I am guessing it is the same or similar to your recipe, right?
dont know marc, i have 2
just one last large stressor in our lives, then *hopefully* things will finally settle down and we can breathe easy again for a little while!
There are two fa6 words.
make that 3
jar of marhmallow cream and 1 1/2 cups of sugar, very sweet
Let me check, peri... mine is in the Hershey's Favorites cookbook... will be right back.
Can you clue them for me?
there is also a recipe for Bourbon Balls :-)
one FA is past tense of putting on some make-up...
One is an old fashioned Tinkerbell, the other is a past tense/adjectival ending for fa4/8
one FE7 is past tense of being afraid of..
I have the fa4/8 past tense. I will look for the Tinkerbell one, thanks
This recipe calls for 2 1/4 C. sugar... but the end result is not sweet... it's purely rich and creamy.
The girl fe6/30 the embarrassment when her father donned his fe6/30
think Spenser's "The Fa6 Queen"
I'll be making sugared whole almonds and candied walnuts and raisins later, peri... so good!
tx hazel, had the 1st of those... but not the 2nd...
Scarlet, that is even more sugar than the recipe I have
please send me your recipe anyway, Scarlet
past tense of putting on make-up? *confused*
I know, peri, but I bet the result is the same... the marshmallow creme makes the difference...
going now to eat a decent breakfast and get ready for the day
You're welcome montreal. I think you could probably carry one of them off, what do you think?
Later, peri-kins@ :-)
it's "eye-shadowed"
oops
ciao peri!
Still having trouble on the fa6, Tinkerbell one, I am sorry I am dense need another clue?
fa4/8 - follows the structure of easy's or soft's opposite.
it's possible hazel...though it requires some "allure"...
gnomes genre
f, plus an eagle's nest might help, Marc. (f is followed by two vowels)
I think you could do it. It would throw Anniebrook off the scent.
Marc. usually found in forests and in literature.
how is this played?
lol hazel... i would become inconspicuous, just another spy...
old english version though
old english version though
Exactly montreal.
hi tower - are you new to te game ?
*Spies?* *Where?* *Callling 007 right now!*
the* game
for rules + clues on how to play, read the Help section, above
well, if you're going to be a spy, might as well blend in with the rest, right?
Finally got it thanks only 8 to go.
Anniebrook has been stalking montreal. The fe6/30 newly acquired by montreal may help to put her off.
hi, tower -- did you ever play the table-top game Boggle®?
'xactly Taku !!
I thought our dear Annie was donning a nun's habit and flying over Montreal to "adjust" his attitude...
*am back...hovering*
yes...ahh got it
Good Monday Morning to all
Quick, montreal, get the hat on before she notices!
good luck Annie, you'll never find me now ! hehehehehhe
hi mom !
{{{Annie}}} You have been "discussed" and I am still laughing...
You play it like Boggle®, but it scores like Scrabble®, with the Boggle multipliers
Who's that adventuresome-looking gentleman in the rakish fe6/30?
Make sure it's a white one,montreal. You'll be indetectable.
Hi, {{{Mom}}} Welcome to the loony bin...
ah, Montreal thinks he can fool a nun by donning a fedora! HAH
Hi, Vicuna!
oops, "Boggle® multipliers" that is
{{Montreal}} good morning
quiet vic ...shhhhh
Hello, all!
To the penalty box!
Annie!! To the PB
Hi, Vic and Mom
{{Scarlet}} hello
i have RE7 and WE7 -- whats the other 7?
Hello Vicuna!
Good morning Takuma
Oh, sorry, montreal. I didn't realize yu still fe6/30 Annieb!
yes Annie, land in the PB !
How long ago did Dr_God have to change the tiles, because the Scrabble® people were unhappy?
There are two re7 words.
no longer Vic b/c of the fe****
i have the RE7-8 combo
It must be about 18 months to 2 years, Takuma.
It was way back around the time you could first go pro, I think.
I can't remember what they looked like before -- I think it was a little font change. Is that right?
re7/40 - past tense of the enigma making re6/24
*sitting dejectedly in the penalty box* I do that a lot....darn fe 6/30
re7/36 - made preparation.
**passes Annie Christmas cookies to pass the time**
"hands over a secreted brownie to Annie in the PB"
I hope the nun in the penalty box isn't muttering naughty words under her breath.
**There, there, dear Annie** I have some hot coffee and your favorite chocolate macadamia nut cookies to soothe your conscience...
First they looked just like the Scrabble tiles. Then he changed it to something else, but it was harder to read, so then the current font was a third try. If I remember correctly, which is, of course, never assured.
thank you Haz
Man, this is the time to be in the PB
You're all so soft! If she does the crime, she does the time!
Haz must be planning to run for mayor of NYC.
THIS is why I got the Police Chief title.
Ah -- I might have been on hiatus for the intermediate stage
SOFT is our middle name, can't help it hazel...
*muttering naughty words*
we are just trying to make her comfortable, like the American prisons.
We need an archivist!
The secret microphones pick up everything, you know.
*eating the cookies montreal and mom kindly gave me*
a timeline!
:)
Annie! I heard that....
And there had better not be a nail file included in that brownie.
a chronology!
oui Une, une rimeline !!
LOL....*found the file*
salut, montreal! beaucoup de neige chez toi?
no nail file hazel... well maybe a wee one...
hi une!
alright -- half the words down -- time for me to go calculate grades
We've got to get some PhD candidate anthropologist somewhere to study the culture of Babble for his or her theis.
hope you didn't chip a tooth finding the file. lol
Good morning, Une!
good luck all -- stay out of trouble, annie
I don't know. Zero tolerance is laughed at here.
morning, annie!
and scarlet!
thesis, I mean.
trop de neige Une; have been shovelling for the last 2 days...
oh, wow--cold but sunny here :-)
Nice try, Takuma... but that Annie is a tough one to quiet down...
Well, we're a pretty tolerant bunch, haz ;)
co6/24, please?
hagd Takuma !
sorry Marc, I don't have it
encryption + 2 vowels marc
co6/24 - pain medication variation, add a couple of vowels to the end of the enigma (co4/6)
timeline could be hilarious . . . day first troll appeared, day "throw me a fish" became standard Babble usage, day "babblet" entered the lexicon . . .
thank you Montreal
marc---co ---co4/6 and 2 additional vowels
yqw mom
Thanks Montreal got it
yw marc
I'd be keen to see things like biggest and smallest grids, etc., too
day the PB was invented...
*need more cookies*-----muttering
er, richest and poorest grids, or something like that
absolutely, takuma!
It would be interesting to see how many of the original players are still around. And to calculate how many people have played. Frankly I'd just make up a figure and defy anyone to contradict me!
would pecan brownies do, Annie?
don't try that Annie, your time is up - out you go !!!
Dr_G may have the info about the grids. Atalante once asked him for the five largest grids in history, and he had them.
i consider myself fairly original. :)
Une, that would be wonderful
the first use of "fish hook letter" (which I still don't understand)
*Throws more cookies over the PB transom* *Offers some valium to Annie to quiet the muttering*
Now you're indulging her and rewarding bad behaviour. You'll all rue the day!
never!
do5/16, please
gp, vic. it hadn't occurred to me that he'd have all that info
You're original, EvaN. I'm purely derivative.
Whoever started those silly letter names should spend a LONG time in the PB, no cookies, no nail files.
Haz, you and I started within a few days of each other
Well, Hazel, I am out, no thanks to you!
dont have it marc
hear hear, haz
what, Hook and Hoop? heh
do5/16 - French sweet, if that helps?
lol, Haz.
Boo spelling clues!
...and throw away the key hazel for good measure...
shirley mclaine: "Irma la Do***"
Boo!
ditto re spelling clues!
"Stick letter" "T-shaped letter"
Haz, it did help and I got it 2 to go
Tell them they can only get out of jail if they can solve a clue that does not use any spelling.
tx haz and une
single hump . . . double hump . . . ugh
B-shaped letter, O-shaped letter, O-shaped letter!
Oh, Haz... I so agree... sometimes, when I have some words to finish, I see the clueing with ladder letters, hooks, curvy letters... and go screeching up a wall, begging for oxygen and demanding a frontal lobotamy...
hi folks..I'd be happy to just remember how I found Babble in the first place...have no idea
Now you're coming round to my way of thinking, montreal.
same here, krista . . . hmmmmm
{{Krista}} good morning
Give 'em he + double hockey sticks, Haz! lol
down with V-shaped letter, stick letter, C-shaped letter
i had a friend who used to babble. i dont think she still does, but if she does, she doesnt chat anymore...i dont even remember which username she used... but then i got a few coworkers hooked. ;)
Some day I'll get in trouble for speaking my mind but it looks like I've got a lot of agreement here!
what do you mean now ? - i just want to make the time in the PB a little more pleasurable...
Thanks, Mom. :)
it was briefly very popular in an office at the university I used to attend
I don't remember how they found it
As the saying goes, Haz... "Speak your mind, but ride a fast horse!"
:)
montreal, it was the fact that you were throwing away the key for the letter abominators.
hi there krista !
clu that de6,24 please
my sweetie found it for me from a USA Today article
but when no one chatted, we used chat to communicate, cross-campus
i dont really mind the letter-names, but i try to avoid them when clue-ing, unless i either get (1) frustrated with myself because i cant think of a good clue or (2) annoyed with other people asking for clues for the same word over + over again...
Wow, I've been here 3.5 years. I didn't think it was that long. No wonder I don't remember (aged brain).
The last 5 I need a clue for is the first re5/14, please?
oh that - yes, 100% with you there !
deroce
I can see that, Eva
ooh, youve got me beat, krista -- October 2004 here!
Mom, I think my sweetie must have read the same article. He's the one who recommended it to me.
Though in the desperate situations, I prefer the old practice of giving a googleable definition
de, then replace one vowel in the American smell or fragrance.
Hey Montreal! Strange..it is sunny here but snowing. Eva - you getting snow??
happen again marc
wow, impressive, krista--May 2005 here
gotta love those guys. I forget what mine looks like... lol
it snowed a week or so ago...but no snow at the moment...
it's more interesting than spelling, imo, and just as easy to use for the very frustrated
ugh ty
(but i dont have a window in my office, so maybe im lying...heh)
a re***ring event marc
Good Morning!
Wonder who the original babblers are, Une.
{{Merk}} Good morning
Good morning Merk.
my son in law told me about babble and life has never been the same
Hi all what does the 4.65 mean at the bottom of the list
are you thinking "Hall of Fame" ? LOL
Hi, Merk and Krista!
hi there Merk !
Interesting Annie. Did your son-in-law have any kind of agenda do you think?
hi Merk
What was the nature of the article? Hmmm..I'm going to Google Babble and see what comes up.
Hi, pete. That's your average word length
sneaky, it's the average point value per word
I started on Oct. 15, 2006, and I can barely remember life without my Babble boost every day.
sneakypete, it's the average number of letters in the words you have found so far.
its the average word length
Haz, was wondering the same thing myself?
oops, vicuna's right
Hi Scarlet. I didn't see you over the weekend. Was wondering about you. Don't go telling me you have a life outside of this.
okay please oh please. I need help with the do5.16 and the ro6.21
that article was responsible for a huge flood of folks
Thanks Montreal got it
okay ty
afternoon all

LOL, Krista... actually, I try to sneak in the grandchildren and cooking and housework and shopping and *gasping for air* then more Babbling...
Thank you all for all of the clues, I am done and must go to work. Have a great Babble day.
ah but I have been driving child to school

Just 89 today.

Well done, bb!
Thanks, Mom.

That sounds like me, Scarlet. I"m really not on here that much, it just seems like it!
LOL, Hazel, thank you!
Bye Takuma.
(heh, closing the babble tab this time, vic...)

LOL, I know what you mean... some days, I zoom to the computer, knock out 50 words and then back to the next objective...
my girlfriend went dentists earlier, i think i have sympathy pains lol
Bye, Takuma! lol
Bye TS! Have a good one.
*floop!*
fa6,27 anyone??
well now that was a head shaking video (as spoken by a mum)
fa6/27 - an old fashioned spelling of a creature, Tinkerbell being an example.
old spelling of the critters that are tinkerbell
Floop is a wonderful word!
Spenser's, Fa**** Queen
thank you Haz
You're welcome, Mom.
nice to see Spangle's mug again
Yes, she likes to look in and keep you all under observation.
bb, I was just thinking that too...how nice to see Spangle
This is the only day Patrick and I have to go shopping for the kids together, and I think our son is getting sick. Ugh...
Oh Krista, sorry
oh no Krista, that is awful
Oh, sorry to hear that Krista... always bad timing around the holidays...
I feel like mother of the year, here, but I think I"m sending him to Nana's anyway. He can always come home if he needs to (**guilt**)
Just do it, Krista...
halfway! Time to clean some of the house. Take care everyone. {{Hugs}} to all of you
On you go, that's what grandparents are for.
He seems to have a low-grade fever and a slightly runny nose...
See you later, Mom!
bye {{{mom}}}
bye bye Scarlet
Bye Mom!
Then he'll be grand tucked up and warm with his grandma.
bye bye Krista
bye bye Annie
I must be on my way too, bye, dear babblers
I just know that I am tempting fate here... but, Beloved and I had our influenza vaccines about six weeks ago, and we have not had so much as a tiny sniffle...
Can you tell I'm a hard-hearted mother?
Later, Annie... you made me laugh so much today...
Nice to see you, Annie! Take care.
Annie - lovely to see you again and do have a nice day.
Let's hear it for hard-hearted mothers!
Hear, hear!
Hip-hip-hooray for HHMs of the world!
*poof*
Everyone always tries to make us feel unnatural. We've got to stick together.
To my shame I once sent my child off to school with chickenpox. She had complained of feeling itchy, but hand on heart it was only when I whipped up her blouse the afternoon after school that all was revealed......
thanks, ladies...no one fainted at the idea of taking him to grandma's with the sniffles...my mother would send me packing on a guilt trip
Fooey on the guilt-infusers... they are the bane of my existence
Krista - it's probably just a cold. He'll be fine!
You have to think of what YOU need sometimes too, Krista...
Just check for itchy spots first, to make sure it's not the chickenpox.
Bet she infected the whole school, Haz. ;)
allo peeps
Hi, Saddy, and so long Babble Nation... life calls! See you later!]
She may have done, Krista, but she has forgiven me. Our attitude has always been to keep going unless you really can't.
It's weird with chicken pox now..they get the vaccine, so if they get it, it's a mild version - hard to tell if it's chicken pox at all.
Bye Scarlet - have a good day.
Bye, Scarlet.
small puzzle today... are the words tougher than usual
Hello, Saddy.
?
bye scarlet - hi saddy
Bye Scarlet, thanks for the pep talk.
Saddy, the grid is small but it's not particularly difficult.
Hi Saddy! Nice to see a different country represented here!
clue for co6,24 please
co6/24 - add a couple of vowels to the enigma (co4/60 so that you get a medicine alternative

hagd Krista !
You too, Krista, and I hope the little one gets better soon.
what was that, Montreal?
Thanks, Haz. I'm sure he will.
(CONFUSION DISCLAIMER) okay so the "who's hot" column didn't move for me for almost 35 days until it went up 1 and now it has dropped 2 points. Go figure as I have finished every puzzle since Nov 5th. Not important but makes me crazy.
He wasn't calling you a hag. He's too well mannered for that.
have a great day Krista !!
tx hazel !
Have you been paying DR-God the required sweetener?
Oh! I never saw that one before, sorry. Tee hee...Hazel, you're funny. Bye guys. *poof*
You're welcome, montreal!
well we did have a wee conversation about how it was a bit wonky
hey BB - yesterday ichecked the WHO'S HOT column and i was back at 1030... but many were at 1031 ??????????
wheres the whos hot thing?
And did he give any reason for wonkiness? I thought computer things weren't supposed to be wonky.
do u mean rankings?
check RANKINGS saddy
Saddy, if you look at Rankings there are three columns there.
There's Who's hot, Village Elders and something else.
i was floating along at 1030 and didn't finish one puzzle. dropped like a stone to 988 where i have languished since until it finally went up 1 and now it has dropped two.............all with finished puzzles. i am more concerned with finishing my puzzles and babbling here but it still makes me crazy.
but all the 1031 are back at 1030 today ! go figure !!!!
and no Haz, he didn't say anything other than it was wonky
Ah well, wonkiness wins.
and i am still here having fun so there you have it
okay. two days left sans children to finish my santa duties.........see you all later
Cream of the crop, that's the other one. I had a senior moment there. Sometimes it can be days before I remember someone's name!
bye BB
Bye bb - hope the wonkiness gets sorted.
village elders is where i am desperately trying to gain some momentum since a year of not playing just did nothing to help.

I must have a look sometime to see who's there and talk about them behind their backs.
HUZZAH for Lucien!

congrats, Montreal. When I combine fe6 and Montreal, I come up with Toe Blake. Does that mean anything to anyone?
As in Dr Who?
It certainly does to me Pete !! what memories...

Afternoon, all! Holey Moley, TO! Guess you bounced, eh?

I was worried that you might have done damage to your back again.
judi, with all this blubber, yoou'd think so! unfortunately i didn't land on the blubber
By people, do we mean George? TO, I really hope it's not too bad. I've fallen down many a step and it is highly unpleasant!

Try and rest until you have seen the Dr

Hope everything is okay, TO. Whenever I fell down steps, they were carpeted. Didn't stop me from squishing a disc, though (not to mention my self-esteem).
fa6/33 anyone - its my last one

scarlet was around earlier...
Where's the head nurse gone? *prepares strategic escape, without the help of Chief
I don't know why Scarlet deserves the custard basket and I don't. I give sage advice and everything.
Looks like Scarlet kept the basket. Best I can do Haz is a chocolate torte ... any good?
You gave that advice to my mum though. I prefer her without good advice :)
Well.... it'll have to do, I suppose. But I'll remember this.

Keep the uniform on, caitlyn, you may be needed yet.
Saddy, we're all here!
Cold milk FMitch not warm
caitlyn, we don't need to know about your personal life! Do you have a miads uniform too?
i did need help, but caitlyn tried to set my mouth on fire by giving me icy water after eating spicy food!
*maids

lets see...christmas is almost here, hubber had the flu...gifts not bought...running par for the course...you?
cr*ella daville and iron **e nana
hi nut
done shopping, done wrapping -- wrapping stuff even put away!
finit!
thanks lil
wtg robo!
*glares at EvaN with good eye*
even staying late at work to rack up some OT hours so i can take xmas eve off
yw nana
heh, well, the BF and i painted pottery for almost everyone, so we had to get started early. and we had a party to go to this past saturday, so we were already wrapping some gifts...so we just kept the momentum going and finished!
*even worse glare because I can't do that...but I will leave at 230*
clues before i go?
i'm fine ty robo
well, you can take that glare back -- im a lowly contractor, and even though the government building where i work is gonna be closed, we still have to work that day or else take leave or make up the time. *buggers!*
don't give me that pity trip, i'm a lowly gov't contractor too
its kinda sad. im not really allowed to do most of my work, since the agency will be closed. so thats why im trying to work the OT in advance, cause i dont have any leave accrued right now, and i wont be able to do my work that day...
i don't have any leave either...
i had a ton of leave, but when i had to switch companies, i lost it all...and i had a vacation already planned when the new company took over, so i was actually in the hole!
i never have planned time off, i have to use it all for fmla
fireworks for me....off to catch up with eva and finish wrapping presents.have fun all
whats fmla?
family medical leave act, further i haven't taken a vacation or time off (even one day) for pleasure in close to six years.
im sorry to hear that!
me too...oh wait...i said that
hi all. can i get clue for last do4 please?
never mind. just found it.
getting antsy -- im usually gone by now!
from where? work?
yeah. i usually leave at 3:30 -- im one of those early-arrivers...

hello all, just finished eating sushi for lunch and sat down to play for 30 minutes before I start baking and getting things ready for the children's last day of school.
Hi, all
hi Jellen!
hi stid hi jellen.
I'm celebrating getting power back at my house after a week without.
TO, how's life in the cold part of the country?
WOO-HOO!!!! (no wonder I hadn't seen you in a while...)
ha. gray across the bottom row...
were you caught up in the ice storms, jellen?
We had an ice storm that knocked out power to 90% of the houses in my town.
and a gray top row...
backfrom newcastle house is n
Fortunately, my brother's house had power, but I didn't have computer time to babble.
wow. I guess you were. I should pay more attention to which people live where...
You go, stid!
hello bill! how's chilly scotland today?
I am glad you had a warm, safe place to be Jellen, seems many people have not... there was a pic I saw with a man trying to heat his house with his kitchen (gas) stove. Very dangerous.
hi
hello cupcake
I'm glad too--not the roughing it type.
very -4 c yesterday in edinburgh
how are ya (all of you)
Hi, cupcake
hi jellen
oooh. very cold indeed! (brrr) that's about 20 here I think...
well, past halfway and thinking the list might be a good idea...
cupcake, are you new?
not really
enough tonight just back Goodnight Folks
sweet dreams Bill! see you again soon! :-)
where are you from jellen
okay, I guess I just haven't been here where you were. my schedule the last six months has been weird.
where are you from sid
Oklahoma, cupcake
Bye, Bill
Pacific Northwest, cupcake. green and wet side of the mountains.
im from illion
I monkeyed the cr 5, let me know if you need help!
illinois? we have friends and family in illinois (and many babblers)
ohhhh sorry Illinois
hiya stidder
I'd like a clue for the cr5, stid!
whos the family
okay, cr + anagram (nonsense) of "belongs to us" -- *** house
Hey, nut
whats the last name of the family
Hi guys
Thanks, stid!
hey nuttery! the babblecast sounded good to me... how's it in your area? the news this morning was pretty grim about the snow.
cupcake, we don't give our real names here.
Hi, swmbo
{{{{{{SWMBO}}}}}} greetings and salutations!
Hi SWMBO!
How is everyone in Babbleland?
(((smile)))
what time is it in your country stid
we are well swmbo... enjoying the last few quiet days before the children are home from school for vacation!
hiya nut
Well do I remember those days. Mine are quieter now, work and home...
it's nearly two in the afternoon cupcake
(((swmbo))) stid, roads were packed ice snow this morn, so not bad OWLLLLLLLLERY
hey swimmy!
(or is that "howlery?) LOL
and glad you liked the babblecast stid...had trouble finding an amazing grace i liked for the end.
Nice to see some familair faces. I looked at the log yesterday and didn't reconise anyone...
my typos are as bad as ever
someone save my sanity and clue me the re 7/36, please...
hi gang, sitting here nrsing, watching chat go by
yes swmbo, there are many "newish" people -- but very nice :-)
chixie de clixie!
well chic that may be a lost cause ; )
Hi, feather!
and chic!
feather sweetie honey baby
hi chic and feather!
hey jellen! long time
does that mean I need to move in Scrabble again feather?
I wsih I had time to chat evryday, but alas! not able
(((nutterey)))))
sorry, only have the first re 4 so far...
hi feather...feather, did you know to whom you were speaking last night? i was nervous about your giving persoanl details
aftanoon, kiddies
not yet stid just sat down
shhh TO don't tell 'em.. and hi Nut and stid, jellen, feather
Jes!!! your scarf came in so handy today!
yay!
me? what?
and jes! hi there! I assume you got to and from the clinic last night?
Hi, jes
it's all warm and melty here today. freaking global warming is eating my pretty pretty snow
okay, holler when ready feather. I have ten minutes left to play
yup. it's only a mile from my house to the clinic, so not much of a trek
TO, you sure it was me? you have me concerned now
look it that, more snow
*turns green with envy* jes made nut a SCARF???? lucky ducky...
oh, yes, that's not bad at all.
tsk tsk stid, nut paid for the scarf.
well, she paid for the yarn and shipping anyway
heh :)
oh. well -- if she PAID for it... *grin*
owl??
yes the person asked how old you were...i think i gave a FEATHER as a subtle reminder
i can make you one too, stid, if you want. but nut WAS nice enough to pay for parts ;)
i remember telling someone my age, but that's it
she had me sold, she called it a harry potter scarf...i've also bought scarves from cliffy....hers are for dress up
actually, i have one made that doesn't have a home yet, if you like pinkish/greenish/white as a combo (varrigated yarn)
k...the hairs on the back of my neck go up when personal questions are asked. paranoid i guess
oh what fun! jes, I may in fact be in the market -- will you email me? I have made scarves for all my family and friends, but making one for myself I was completely uninspired.
owl, you may wanna shave the back of your neck
me too, TO -- I rarely even give clear answers to my location. Only general ones.
SWMBO -- did you disappear?
welp, i'm a bit more open about my location...but then i know i have know qualms about pulling a trigger...;-)
I cannot see the first re 7 either... I have the re 6 that comes after... and the 7 after that...
i have *no*
LOL the TRUTH will out nut! (see, you're not really fooling any of us)
I am still here, trying to find words and follow the log LOL
ah yes, the perennial conundrum! :-)
Hi all, weeeeee, just passing through doing cartwheels to celebrate finishing a 1200 word essay on The Colosseum in Rome. *Waves at the babblers and crashes into dear stddy, sorry*
heheh. i do hope you let me introduce myself before digging my grave if i ever show up in your neck of the woods, nut
i don't like to say more than my general area of where i live, and never my full name on here. age alone seems fairly harmless.
to chat, or to finish? that is the question!
i was stuck between having 'no qualms' and 'knowing how to use a gun'
hey FM! *picks up friend and dusts her off* congrats -- that's a lot of words!
RE7 Prepared
mitch: congratulations!
oc5,12 anyone?
well, I am TEN. my profile says so, and I am sticking to it. I am the youthfullest mother of teens ever!
Hi, FM
thanks greyhound! *thinking*
oh bother. found it as soon as i asked.
ah jes...i may...show up with knitted goodies and i'll invite you in for tea...give the dogs and cats a free exam and i'll even let you sleep on the sofa
Thanks, Italian!
heh. a sofa? for the exam fees and milage to make a farm call to your place, i could BUY a hotel ;)
GOT IT!!!! *turns own cartwheels and crashes into TO*
Thanks stid *brushes us both down* Lots of words for me but not compared to your 50,000!! Jellen hello, long time!!
but i suppose for dinner and a guest bed we could make a deal ;)
ok...you can have the spare bed, but you may have to share with the dog
sorry TO... *grin*
oh, that's not a problem. i usually have at least 2 dogs and 3 cats on the bed with me :)
how do you know what the theme for the day is?
ARGH. I am down to 15, but my self-imposed time limit is up. But my FRIENDS are here. *decisions, decisions*
we look at Babbler's profile, swmbo
stay and love us, stid!
oy! my cats refuse to sleep with me...i move too much for their taste
Hello to swmbo too whom I remember well from the early days.
or, you know, go be responsible in the real world, whichever.
okay, that decides it. Dogs need out briefly, then I shall return! *zips out*
Yes FMitch, I remember you too!
heh. mine have me trained. i'm allowed to roll over once a night
where is babblers profile?
Lol, jes
true story. i wake up about 2-3am, and can kind of shift and wiggle over, without dislodging the cat on my hip or shoulder.
anybody have a clue for the oo?
it's sort of like the scary ee word
swmbo - look at #948 in the Cream o the crop Rankings.
thank you
I feel like Gulliver with the Lilliputians (sp?) when I sleep with the cats.
that doesn't happen here, lets just say that i effectively use every square inch of a king size bed without help from pets or husband
heh. well, i haven't moved much in my sleep anyway since i was a kid--one too many times of falling off the bunk bed and i learned
hi everyone, i wish i was so lucky jes, i have a small part of a single bed and a medium dog stretches out over the rest.
Hi, frogface
LOL frog
my sleeping shifts so much, curl up, stretch out, flop, spread eagle, stretch other way, left side, right side, arm contortions, leg contortions
Omigod, Babbler is rioght above me in the rankings!!! I never look at them anymore, I am far to competative as it is
hi,
heh. i used to have a mastiff in addition to the beasts that sleep on the bed now. that made for a crowd!
co6,27 anyone
hi deb! hi frogface!
hi nana
hi stid
past tense rope nana...
how is everyone
or should i ask
hi nan
down to 13 here... so doing well.
co6/27 is past tense of co4/6
awesome
Hi, nana.
the second FE 6 has me stumped though...
Time for a mug of tea I think and I must write out 100 times, I will not leave my essay writing until the last moment! Hugs to all and pootles off towards the kitchen in a more sedate manner.
you wear it on your head, stid. looks fine with a scarf or ascot.
de6,24 the second?
ARRRRRRRgggggh. thanks for the fishy headwear
have fun, fmitch
bye FM, enjoy your well-earned rest!
Bye, FMitch
heh. well after all the fish you served me last night, it's the least i can do ;)
???pootles? (sounds VERY british)
and the second DE 6/24 is a type of cedar tree with drooping branches...
two left. can't see them. one is the last re4,5 and either the one before or after that
sounds like the Harry BElafonte song de* + I ***e you to find it!
go deb go!
LOL stiddy terribly British don't you know :) *poof*
got the re4,5. need the re5,14 before
thanks for the co clue

"happen again" deb....
that would be re + *** (a bad dog)
oooh! down to five!

YAY deb!
congrats deb
sorry stid, which word did you need?
what do you need stid?
hi all.
hi doxy
Hi, doxy!
hey doxy!
I need the fa 4 after the elfin creature...
Yay for deb!!!
'lo doxy :)
and the co 6/24
*sigh* and they don't seem to be "normal" words though I suppose they ARE fish
oh. it's like the fa4 after that, but with a different last letter.
f + not easy but h***
oh! thanks deb!
okay, then that C jes needs is also my last one...
apparently it means to apply cosmetics to your face, but i've never heard it used in conversation ;)
I can't seem to get the de 6/4 (last). Could someone reclue, please?
de+sounds like smells bad, with a different last vowel
start with the co4,6 above it and add two vowels.
That's 6/24
clue for the first re 7 please
the de 6/24? de + mis-spelled "smell" like body **o*
thanks deb!
thanks deb...

re7 is got prepared
yw, fireworks for you guys too, right?

Hi Folks...taking a break from shopping to shop for some more words!
Interesting grid. But small so I may actually finish. :o
I can't believe this guy survived... it's trying to skateboard across the grandcanyon I think...
bye, deb
Hi, Krista and bluesoul
but he misses the rail, and then the parachute manages to save him
Bye, deb
hi blue and krista!
huh
bye deb, thanks for the help. see you tomorrow!
Clue for the er's, please?
not something i think i'd be trying...
Clue for ae 5, please? Is it fish bait??
wear away by weather, jellen
fa6, 27 anyone
let's just say -I- would not even try to run a skateboard on a short, ground-level rail.
place for a bird to sit, krista
nooooooooooooo
Thanks, jes.
fa6, 27
The skateboard minus the grand canyon is scary enough for me.
fa6/27 is sprite or pixie
fa 6/27 is a sprite-like creature, often depicted with wings; the spelling is british or old fashioned
do 5/16?
You too, Stid. :)
do 5/16 is french I think for "shower"
do5/16 is what the do***?!
Thanks, stid and jes
ro 6/21?
:-D happy to help. two more clues and then I SHALL go bake some cookies... have two recipes to try.
ro 6/21 is a person who follows the band...

I could have sworn I tried that. Thanks, stid
I will be happy to share jes... come on over! they'll be ready in about an hour.
thanks, Jes..always thought that word (ae/5) was an adjective

no, that'd be with an ai
I'm making some new ones this year for the first time in ages. Living dangerously, here.
we 7: tired
Thanks, stid!

LOL bye doxy/blue... et al. see you-all next time! *puzzled look -- burn cookies? what does that mean?* *poof*
Bye stid
congrats grace
heh. dunno, i usually eat them raw, stid ;)
MMM..choc chip cookie dough..discovered that gingerbread dough isn't half bad, either
chocolate crinkle dough is really the way to go, though :)
especially since it's supposed to sit in the fridge overnight before you cook it--the bowl's always a lot lighter by the next day ;)
I get my cookies from the package, most of the time.
well, that works too.. you can buy cookie dough in a tube :)
what are chocolate crinkles??? Must know!
A clue for the cr word anyone?
can someone help me with the second fe6, 30
co6?
fe6 - a type of hat
fe 6/30 is a type of hat
co6/24, that is?
co6 is past tense of 4/6 - something you use to tie something
Jes is getting me the recipe for chocolate crinkles, I just know it.
thank u

bluesoul, I am just peeking in and never met you before. I love what you wrote in your bio. Are you in Lexington?
I'm in Paducah at the moment.
Go to school in Louisville.
do you have to complete this game im fed up looking at same letters
you do not have to do anything you don't want to do, except die eventually.
We lived in Lexngton 1964 to 68, when hybby taught at U of K
*hubby
there are always alternatives, as spock would say.
oh funny thats helpful
You realize we can't be expected to get along now. :P
well you don't have to, is my point. but the only way to get a new one is to wait until midnight central time. there is one grid per day.
hurshy, such deep thoughts! YOu are driving me to the kitchen to fix supper! *poof*
how did that drive inge to the kitchen? death... food to keep her alive...?
thats all i wanted to know did nt hurt did it
course not, but it was enjoyable to wax philosophical first.
no, just having to think
why don't people like to think? it is one of my favorite things.
can i get a clue for the cr 5/14?
do you like e*** ** taupe?
These re's are kicking my butt
cypher again, tape again, happen again...
cute, hursh. thx
got the first and third anyway
Hi, hurshy and eieios. Wandered away while you were arriving.
thanks, got 2 more, 7 left
tape like cassette, not like scotch.
hey, jellen
13 to go
many of the re's are not re-'s
crabcakes and spinach go soooo well together. i wonder why that is.
you are making me hungry!
it's dinnertime, you're supposed to be hungry.
true. haven't started din-din yet. i will have to soon
trying to finish first. =)
well i see you are in central so not QUITE dinnertime for you.
how many words to go?
4
i am sailing thru today. =)
yeah it's a nice little grid although i'm stuckish at 7. but it's bound to happen.
got 7 as well
yes it is.
happens to me all the time. lol
wow we are totally in sync. :)
scintillating wit as ever from the americans.....

thx, carlee
Hi, carlee
hi there jellen..how goes?
Much better now that I have power at my house--went a week without.
there, only 1 4 and 4 6's to go... :P
a WEEK?!?!?!?!?
no power = no babble! :( :(
Exactly, hurshy!
no power no heat
2 4s, 2 5s, 2 6s here :p
no heat, wrap up in sweaters and blankets. no babble, just sad.
I stayed at my brother's house, so I was lucky. Left the cats at home; they did okay.
there is always a boggle cube
5 re's to go then done
boggle cube hasn't got chat.
hasn't anyone in america heard of lighting a fire?
i... um... don't really have any friends, you see, so, i really depend on the internet.
most people here don't have fires cus ur ins rates go through the roof
what, don't we count hursh????
My chimney doesn't work, so no fire.
I'm sorry I didn't know being Irish gave you autonomy to judge Americans.
i love lighting a fire but i have not got a fireplace
i meant, OTHER friends.
the last de 6 is driving me crazy. can anyone help? it is the final 6/24 (not the morbid one).
de6 forst part of what u put on under ur arms to keep u from stinking out the joint
are you sure it is 6/24?
OOOOOOOOh.... *little duh face* yeah, i gotcha. know what would work great hursh? find a charity and volunteer.
aha so it is
what are apologising for blue?
i would nut, if i had energy.
eat more iron rich foods hursh...oh, and you'll find that when you force yourself to do things you don't want to do, or think you don't have the energy to do, eventually the energy comes on its own. i speak from experience of course
it says 6/24 on the babblers anon page. ill check with the clue carleekat just gave. =)
yay! thanks!
1 re left to go
pay no attention to me mirrine i was being thick
there..am done
POM POM toss for carlee!!!!!!
quick question:
thanx jellen
I know someone's made a great site explaining how the stats work for pro members - where is it?
that was me, it's in my profile and it is also on angel's page
unless someone else made something else and i don't know what you're talking about and am just full of myself.
thanks, hurshy. just upgraded my mother (Peep) to Pro for her birthday.
ah, what better gift can one give
botheration, i hate sixes.
especially c sixes
finally finished those awful re's, 3 to go
i have 3 to go too!
a 4, 5, and 6, go figure
http://wwe5.bchydro.com/2007holiday/
but mine are all sixes!
this is so cute
got the 4!
still lack the oo and co6/24
got the F!
you're not listless? lol
here i thought we were just amazingly similar.
:P Once I get halfway done I pull out the list.
once i get halfway done i allow myself to look at the stats
i know, i know, i'm being naughty, i'll stop.
i'm in the mood for banafee pie
but we are missing the same c i guess :)
got the R!
oo5 like ae5
holding breath
do you want a clue for co6/24?
Do you want a clue for the co 6/24, hurshy?
thanks
NO NO CLUE
i race blue
both same last word
heh we're both looking for it for last word
after you find it can you clue it? that's exactly what I'm looking for now (co 6/24), though sadly not my last one.

cypher + 2 vowels.
dang :p grats!
congrats!
*shakes hands with blue*
<POMPOM TWIRL> for hurshy
thanks!
Yay for hurshy!!
thought i'd tried every permutation of that :(
apparently not there we go
yeah i thought i had too but tried again and poof!
Yay for blue!!
my daddy always says i'm too competitive.
<POMPOM TOSS> for blue
only he says it for a joke bc in my family we are very uncompetitive with each other
but then on babble he is right about me :S
I'm going out to run some errands. See you all again soon!
nite jellen..take care

clue for the last de 6/24?
Hi everyone. :)
its the start of what u put on under ur arms to keep u from smelling
{{MOM}}
{{Carlee}} did you finish your Christmas cards?
yes I did..they went out in the mail today..sadly the ones for the UK will be late
hmm....still can't get it
any other clues?
but they will still get them. Makes Christmas last a little longer that way
i suppose
NM, I got it
you have to change the last vowel, jayde.
Clue for the first re 5/14?
oh i have a question
what is that Hurshy?
it costs more to send a card out of the country? and if yes as i suspect, does that mean they will get returned to sender if you didn't know that and just put reg'lar stamps on?
do again jayde
cause if so i oopsted.
they may be charged the xtra postage at their end
oh dear that's not good either
woe is me
I would think they would stamp them postage due
alas, alack, the tragedy is grim
Any other clues for the first re 5/14?
still having trouble
if we are mailing them out, they get returned to us but if someone is mailing something to us, it comes postage due.
i wish in the christmas spirit they would just let it slide...
you might get lucky that way Hurshy
you had a pain in your tummy so you went to the doctor and the doctor said it was probably nothing but to let her know if it should re5/14
thanks Hurshy
see i had to send cards to the clients and work and like half of them are overseas and i didn't know, and oh bother that is really not good
*at work
oh, not personal cards then. Ouch
oh well...
friends might forgive you, but multi-millionaires might not.
will you run this by your boss?
no, it's too late so why bother
( note for next year..take the cards to post office and let postal workers figure out the postage for u )
probably if i am lucky they have receptionists like me at their end and those people will kindly pull out the few cents and the multi-millionaires will never know
Thanks!
DONE
let's hope so.
Congrats Jayde
<POMPOM TOSS> for jayde....yippee
but we were sending the cards late and it was rushed and when you're rushed, you know, you don't think of all the things'
( which is why I said..NOTE FOR NEXT YEAR )
this year..done...past..over with... gone
sometimes when a client calls and the person they want asks if they can call them back later, i have to tell the client and then there is this pause like "WHAT IS HE DOING THAT'S MORE IMPORTANT THAN TALKING TO ME?" and it's very disconcerting
gotta love $
on the bright side, i made lots of very good cookies this weekend.
what kind hurshy?
cookies! I am getting ready to make Snickerdoodles
Hurshy, tell them, that if you had known he was going to call, you would have kep t your boss at your desk
snappy ginger stars, peanut butter, no-bake chocolate with coconut and oats, chocolate muddies (like a death-by-chocolate cookie), chewies, and sugar cookies in christmas shapes with red and green icing.
you were a busy one this weekend, Hurshy
lol inge, doubt that would go over well :)
wow...lots of good stuff there....
I am only baking xmas day desserts..thsi year banofee pie and...something
yes i gave a plate to each person at work and one to my landpeople
If you watched Nightly News tonight, the weatherman from Detroit, is broadcasting from NOrthvile, where we live
bother, we agreed on a word for that and i forgot what it was
I have cnn on inge... :o(
better go start the cookies. Hope to see everyone afterwhile. Hugs to all of you.
is it a cuddle alert tonight inge?
rentees? no...
grrr
Hurshy, we used to tell concert patrons who came late and complained, that we would have held the concrt, had we known they were coming
should I know the re 7/36?
yeah but you can get away with that. you can't get away with saying it to a yacht owner
No, Chuck Gaidica just showed lots of snow in front of his house.

Chuck is really on vacation and got drafted by Channel 4 to dramatize the snowfall
hi
hi all cr5 please

that's a lot at Xmastime, but you're used to it? :)
have you tried using it?
lickety's page is in friends of babblers...
if you type in a word, it will only accept it if the word is in the grid (acceptable)
there r some words that really should be in the dictionary
I use it every day
ok 83 and never thought i;d get that many in hour but bed time ...ty for clues and congrats to all gn
my brother yes but... my daughter no she'll be 2 so im still adapting to the EXTRA spend at this time of year
it is a list showing the first 2 letters of each word # of letters and point total
nite, joanne
oww, pink. did you mess up in your planning on that? ;)
no my daughter had other ideas, she ment to arrive on the 10th but decided to make an appearence on the 23rd..
what I meant was, I think I'd have tried for her to be born at an entirely different time of year
:D
well..... what can i say....God choose to bless me with her at christmas lol
*chose*
whenever they're born, we love'em :)
my son was born on Halloween. Not what I wanted at all!
hi python i take it your the newbie welcome to highly addictive world of Babble!!!!
lol ty how old is he?
43 :)
Yes, I'm a newbie.
python, if you don't use it for anything else, Lickety's page gives you the best way to ask for clues.
whoa...same age as my mum....i just read your profile..i like the phrase "in the mountains" that's something my gran would say lol
ty
I love mountains enormously
ok, can I get a clue for wi5,26?
wi5/26 means that you took on a wi4/11
hmmm
i love tigers especially the polar ones...i have watched tigers in the wild and they are no different to my little tabby cat that sits on my lap and purrrs
not a husband, but a wi4/11
I love Siberians most, too
...then add a consonant to tygers clue python :)
any clue for de6/24?

de6/24: de4/6 + not um, but another syllable people say when they're hesitating
the other de6/24

other de6/24: de + round vowel + the ***ing young man on his flying trapeze
not living + common ending
oh, he kinda looks like my golden. how do you get your pic up
pink, she said it's the other de6 :)

fa 5/20: past tense fa 4/8
*hands fish to JBV*
{{small voice from the corner}} more "o"?
or 4: or + **vertising (commericals)
well, i could tell you how you could have had 21 pts with that J, or even 42 if you had had an E....
or 5: o + r4
really feather? where!!!!!?????
Thank you again -
i maximize every possible tile for all it's worth! in the middle, JAY is 21 pts. add an E on the right, make JAY/JEE for 42
well piffle! I didn't even see that blue tile there!
*sigh* I am not well accustomed to virtual tiles. The movement and direction doesn't make sense to me (that's my explanation and I am sticking with it)
never play an X, J, Q or Z for less than around 30 points. never "waste" an S or a blank on less than 30 points, or a bingo
unless you have no other option
yep, i'm all about using the colored tiles twice
ah, true enough. though I have to say I haven't had really helpful draws this game...

co6/24 is an alkaloid from opium used to ease coughing. It builds on the co4.6 before it by adding 2 more vowels at the end.
yeah, that's what I said earlier on the co6/24... sorta
LadyN - did you mean me? If so, no. It's 2.39am here in UK.

Hello, harp.

hi harp
it's the sneezing sniffling how did i wake up on the babble room floor medicine!
fa 6/27?
hahahah fran!
I had to give all my details to buy glycerine last year (I use it to soften the royal icing on my Christmas cakes). It's now considered part of bomb-making meterials.
an alternate spelling to the tiny mythical creatures that have wings
wow really!
well sure... everyone knows that, don't they?
just kidding
Not making light of the problem where people have to go into rehab but I don't think it will be long before there's a real life clinic for Babblers.
whoa mistress...a bomb? a cake bomb...isn;t that a fallen cake?
hello
ty
hi Harp
teehee.. or maybe a great cake to get someone out of jail with
I said hello, Harp. I guessed the single 'h' from you was meant to be hello.
Glycerine has long been used to ease sore throats and to soften hard icing (frosting) on cakes.
Hello Babble Buddies..... how are w? e
Hello Babble Buddies..... how are w? e

except for those of us addicted to co6/24 or dealing with cake bombs
hello Lady Nats...
i'm still here, something booted me off in the middle of my hello! I have no gigs and not even a rehearsal tonight so I am on a brief hiatus from the CMV...
i purchased coughdrops with codeine in them in England.. they aren't legal here in the USA.. my hubby got a hold of the box .. thought they were like our american candy type ones and ate the whole box!!! i had to rush him to the hospital!
oh my, fran
i'm the one wanting the co 6 mistress is the made bomber of transalvania cake bake off
he ate 28 ! the limit was 2 or 3 a day!
So, Harp, are you at a loss with nowhere to be?

I"m married to a Limey, too, frantique.
Hi Aussieme!
did you have to make a flourless cake?
i'm from tangleword
tangleword is gone .. mean mean iwin.com
Lady - I did. Has it gone now?
yes
i'm from the bug infested castle
my condolances !
just kiddin
iwin went ages ago. I used to like the monkey maze on there.
brits are lovely..
they've shut it down, Jac. Who were you on TW, frantique?
Yes, I almost said, "want to commiserate??" but thought better of it. ;)
I was frantique
i was a 30 second roomer
iwin is part of Kewlbox Games, I think. Have you tried on there?
what was your names on tanglword?
really? I was LadyNatts... and I avoided 30-second rooms like the plague
no i never heard of Kewlbox
Whatcha up to, Renplestiltskin?
can you imagine.. i went from 30 second games to 24 hour ones !!!
hmm... worth considering, thanks for the suggestion, Jacula. I know fellow tangle addicts have been trying to get someone else to pick it up
http://www.kewlbox.com/
quite the stretch, frantique!!
**not paying attention to word game suggestions** la laa laaaa...
Hi, everyone--I can't get that last de 6/24 to save me. Would appreciate a clue
I just looked at Kewlbox i dont' see a tangleword
LOL krista... hard enough to avoid current addictions...
thx LN...didn't have the last 4,8 but got it now...
more de4/6
mir, de + odd way to spell stinky smell
You might also try http://www.brothersoft.com/downloads/t angleword.html
but thanks anyway for the Kewlbox address.. Just what i need ..yet another addiction!!!
You said it, Lady. :)
not the same if it's a download, though, jac
de6/24 (last) begins like what you spray under your arms and ends with a 2-letter pirate word (vowel + consonant)
Oh, thanks lbd!!!
and Jac, too
i'll check out http://www.brothersoft.com/downloads/t angleword.html later.. thanks
sorry, mira... wrong de6
be back soon..
'Bye, frantique.
later, fran
what was the object of Tangleword? (that's safe for me to discuss if it's defunct)
Can't remember now, Krista - it's so long since I played it.
ok, clue me for wi5/26 please...
On Wordo - the free web version, I just try to beat my own best score (which was 106660 over the allowed 5 rounds.
Past or verb tense of the wi4/11.
I just tried to access the thingy in your profile, Jac, and it won't come up for some reason. Darn.
I think it may be an Elixabethan word - that man is now wi***! He'll be under the thumb now.
Won't it, Krista? I'll check it out.
well, blow me down, thats a word ??
krista, tangleword was like this only timed... about a minute or two between rounds to chat... one with the most points wins the round... something like Yahoo's Word Racer, but a friendlier community and more time to chat
thanks Jac...
It may just be my confuser.
It's working fine for me, Krista.
ladynatts, what name did u play under in tangleword?
LadyNatts
Highlight it and then check 'copy' and then paste it into a new tab on your browser.
I don't remember you.
That's what I did, and I double checked that everything copied/pasted correctly.
y/w, Aussie.
what was your rating?
That's sad... but there were a lot of players. I was hovering around 1700.
It'll prob work later..I've had that happen before.
no wonder...... i stayed away from those rooms
:)
Krista - the Net's a bit wobbly tonight, methinks. We lost our connection (inexplicably) earlier.
hah... I learned that when you play in those rooms, your rating improved.
I think things on here get much busier coming up to Christmas, do like they do in the shops.:((
not when jao or dirk pitt or some of those were around
Maybe it's stressed out and overworked, too.
'Zactly.
well kiddo's... I have to be running along to bed.... Its 3:10am here.... nighty night all, sweet dreams, and dont forget, Santy Claus will be here before we know it.....
true, snags... you had to watch for those cheaters
He won't bring you pressies if you are still up when he comes, though, Aussie. You need to practice going to bed earlier. :)
that's probably what killed it
Every year, when I go into my local market town in the 3 weeks approaching the festive season, I wonder where on earth all the extra people come from, where do they shop the rest of the year and why do they choose to clog our shops up at Christmas.
i was in a room with dumbledory and he was racking up to and over 200,000 pts
LOL Jac
Hmmm, hard job for me then, I work till midnight....
Oh, then he'll understand. I know what you mean..need that unwinding time.
Yes, snags, they did that frequently... towards the end, we were playing in private, password-protected rooms to avoid them
I'm here having unwinding time, also.
Yes, cant sleep on a full head !!
so was I
Oh Jac, I went out Saturday and it was sooo crazy. I almost cried in Wal-Mart.
I KNOW you're up all night, Jacula.
i kept reporting him and so did others so it must have caused the game to close...... but they dropped all the classic games too. like euchre spades hearts
I try to avoid WalMart throughout the year, let alone at Christmas
I know, snags... a lot of people are upset, I'm sure.
Same thing (re the zapping) happened with Scrabulous... to many cheats and people with silly 'political' or 'love argument' names. A beta version was formed in the end.
well, night night all, have fun..... sweet dreams xx **poof**
jac, scrabulous is still going
Yes, I should get going too... gotta take the garbage out for collection tomorrow morning, and hubby will need dinner when he comes home in about an hour or so
So do I, Lady. I haven't been there in ages, I think that's what made it so hard. Our was voted the busiest Super Wal-Mart a few years ago..in the whole country. I mean I couldn't get down one aisle without having to manever around at least five other people with carts. It was too much.
This game is stupid argh! *storms out*
This game is stupid argh! *storms out*
Krista... I hate shopping, period. Of any kind.
go to a nice quiet local store, Krista. you'll thank me later!\
Places like Walmart make me crazy bitchy
Have a good evening, Lady.
snags, yes, I know. But the chat part has been zapped for now, and, if you go to the beta site it's quicker with less blips. You can also play against your friends on facebook.
I have ethical issues with Wal-Mart.
good night to you too :) ... bye everyone!
Hey Harp, how are you?
oared
Wal-mart took ASDA (which was a farmer's association market) over about 2 years' ago here in UK. Even the staff say the changes have not been for the better.
good Krista, I'm done with the grid now and I have to do a little housework
Snidely Whiplash?? What's the man's name in your icon?
me too Krista, lots of reasons to avoid the box stores!
I think I'm a few days behind on icons....
It's generally a "dirty" company in so many ways. Sorry they are going international.
Harp - when you're done with the damp duster and the feather duster around your home, woould you mind just having a quick go around mine?
Mine's old, too, Harp.
I'm just going for Christmassy icons now.
sure, if you'll buy my airfare. I'd love to see Big Ben!
I don't live anywhere near Big Ben. LOL
almost done, but blank when looking for we 7...help, anyone?
Sounds like you are we***** from looking for it, Mr.
Well, I'd probably swing over to have a look. I'll watch the changing of the guards, while I'm there, too.
You won't actually see Big Ben (which is the bell) unless you climb up into the tower, btw.
it's the 4/8 with an ending
ok, when are you sending the ticket?
Oooohhh...so right about that, Krista. Thx!!
there's a brand of clock called Big Ben in the states
Heard Big Ben was silent for the first time in 150 (?) years recently, when they cleaned/repaired it.
:) YW! How many to go?
Big Ben is the 13 ton bell that hangs in the tower of The Palace of Westminster. The tower is not open to the general public, but those with a "special interest" may arrange a visit to the top of the Clock Tower through their local (UK) MP.
newbie here
Krista - yes, it was.
what is the goal here?
how many points am i trying to get?
Harp - when I write some new stories and sell 'em??
or words?
re 5/14? have one that has a pattern in it..
1174, tux.
Hi and welcome, tux. There are 89 words today. 1174 points.
wow - a little more work to do then
thanks
Hi all
You're welcome.
The goal is to find all of the words a 3 issues ago copy of Enable considers to be in the grid.
I don't have that one, mr, sorry.
telll tux about lickety!
ok...I'll use my little fingers and keep looking
look for the link below to Lickety's Babble Clues..a big help
All tux has to do, mrae is look around the site properly.
yes...true
I didn't know how to find the Babblecast this week.
Does anyone have co 6 27?
Don't ever try looking for 'mosh', 'goth' or 'chav' 'cos they aren't there.
co6/27 is the verb form of co4.6. Some might say past tense.
it described something that is made with co 4/6
which c0 4 6
Now I am frustrated with that one, too, mr...let me know if you find it
Krista - re your last post about not being able to find Babblecast - I was going to ask you if you'd just hit 50. However, from your bio I see you are only 40.
gopt it thanx
YW, Penny.
My mind is going FAST, Jacula. Really. It's scary.
do 5 16 anyone, I'm down to my last 4 words
Sometime I must look at those links down there...
I'v had 13 nofitications from friends about people dying this year... and many, many more from friends, who like me, have hit 50 this year and are fuddled and somewhat surprised.
do5/16 means quiet, sober or prudent. It sounds like a tennis score, though.
Whew, that's so many people, goodness! My condolences. I am blaming my mental state on stress and children. And stress from children.
thx Jacula
y/w, penny.
Krista - I'm sure that's what it is at your age.
fe 6 30 anyone?
OMG - it's 10:30 already. Have to get some gifts wrapped before bed. Nice to "see" you again, Jac. Thanks, I hope that's all it is.
Goodnight, Penny..congrats in advance on finishing.
3 to go...still can't find second re 5/14...duh
fe6/30 (1st) 'was afraid of'.
thanks for the vote of confidence
Keep looking for those re words, mr...I'm just giving up!
fe6/30 (2nd) a type of hat.
drove all day today and brain is fried
'Night, Krista. (Smiles to self since all presents are wrapped.. that is until I decide I didn't buy enough and go out for more...'
No, actually, I'm determined this year that I've done it all. I bought what people wanted.
:) Sounds familiar, Jac. Nighty night all. *poof*
What's the point in buying a load of cr*p that they don't really want or need?
re 7 plz. i have to cypher again. can't find the other
My main worry is over the 'typically her' dress I bought for my daughter. I hope she will love it but I have a horribl feeling she won't.
lady, you are clearly not american. kids here are dying to get their licenses.
hi
re7/36 = 'got prepared for something'. re7/40 = cyphered again'.
oops, sorry, i was jumping into a long ago conversation. my connection is reaalllllyyyy sllooowwww.
Iwas about to say jasmine, that lady is from USA but maybe a different state? It's such a big country... things must differ so much. They differ from north to south on our little island in UK.
hello friends and faces
thanx, jacula, got it. my comment was about her kids being too lazy to get their driver's licenses. and she had a canadian flag up. i just goofed and got into it way after the fact
re 5 14 anyone?
and, hello everyone. so rude of me to just barge in. on the other hand, my man has served up a couple of rum drinks......
I barge in here all the time without announcing myself, jasmine, but I am Taurean. LOL
penny- re5/14 is to happen again. only one i have
Hi, ping.
heya ping
tx, nb, I finished, I'll stay on for a minute to clued if any one needs help
hi jac and rennie
The next re5/14 expands one the re4/5 before it.
tx Jacula, I just got it
You still here, ren? I thought you were off catching bluebottles.
are bluebottles bugs?
Bluebottles are big fat blowflies, ping.
oh, thanks, jacula
Shall I describe to you what Ren tastes when she burst their abdomens with her fangs?
*grins*
ren has fangs?
She does if I choose to give them to her any particular night, Ping.
i had no idea!
Sometimes, I ask her to stand in for me and then feed me by a kind of transfusion.
LOL
I'm a writer, Ping and I can take the story any way I choose. *grins*
i may have been better off being innocent of all this knowledge
do you write fiction?
I'd be interested to see how Ping reacts when she, me and Ren meet up. LOL
I write all sorts, ping. Poetry, song lyrics, stories, stuff on here.
based on the fangs bit, i'd probably RUN!
I even do serious articles.
i knew you are a writer - wasn't sure exactly what though
Oh, Ping... take a risk! You might find both of us are not what you thought.
ren is a lot closer, miles wise!
I also do song parodies, ping. Those are great fun, especially when I get together with my friend Jan on a night out where a tribute band is playing... we can hardly contain ourselves re the first lines for songs.
But we are a bit risque, re our lyrics at times!!
See our facebook interface.
are you on facebook now?
I'm not signed in now, Ping and, apparently, since I justt tried the find friends thingey, my e-mail is 'not supported yet'.
I AM in the Babblers group on there though... maybe we can hook up that route?
i'll have to see is we're "friends" there yet - if not, i'll do it
do i get one now? how about now?...now?
do you like ab fab?
Maybe, when the Christmas holiday arrives.... I might reply to all the facebook invitations. I've not done so so far as I only have Windows 2000 on the new pc, and I'd prefer XP.
Pattsy & Edina are....
funny.
My son had a hellish day at work earlier... he works for a company that had been given the ethos of making the UK fostering world have more professional websites.
hi all
CR5/14?
jac I didn't know there was a babble group on facebook
They've been setting tht site up for some weeks now, but, only 2 days' ago, let the workers (mostly ex-hippies from the 60s' set their own bits up/ After that, well... it's been a fight tween the hippies, who want flowers and Beetles and VWs and flashing fonts (none of which look professional) and my son and his colleagues.
