no
Curious to know how you know how many letters are in a word...
okay, *thinking*
most of us at this point Doroth, have simply found them, or watched folks announce them in the log
but some of us use "lickety's list" which has a link at the bottom of this page...
Hi Pigeonman, How are you doing????

why is cosmo not in the dictionary???
whywhy why
becuase it's short for cosmopolitan
and cosmos has no singular, as it's a collective.
but its used everywhere
hi gitst time...
*first
I don't know but I discovered the other day that taurus is also not in the dictionary. It's just odd.
*first
and if docs is a valid word... why isnt cosmo
Taurus has a capital
'sysop' is my only response to that. don't know what else to say. :)
also, cosmo isn't short for cosmopolitan. It means universal. It's pertaining to the universe.
no thats cosmos sarah
is it because i havent slept yet
whats a sysop?
ut is "moter" a word... as in... car motor
oh :$
finished
a valid word in the grid, short for systems operator.
my phantom word is steroid
cosmo is a prefix, Saddy. We have lots of prefixes in this game. Anti- , for example.
well done, maniac, cograts!
the simple and only answer is the Enable dictionary is the final arbitor .... no matter how valid your reasoning and logic are, enable will decide what goes in the grid.
Hooray for Maniac!!
wtg mitch 15 left here
youre kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!
congrats, mitch
alas, thus it is so, babrab.
What BabbleRabble said. You may think it's a word but we play the game according to the rules and dictionary that babble uses.
Hi BabRab!
cosmo cosmo cosmo
at least chatter box accepts everything :)
invented
lol saddy
flackopoosy
i invented that word
hello, lynxxx and everyone
few neologisms make it into enable
dc, when will you be playing? we'll miss you at these hours
i will miss these hours too, i like the flow/people at this hour a bit better than i do the day, relative to me, crew. i won't play from work on days, as it's busier, and the gov't overlords are here.
geez BabRab, you must eat dictionaries for breakfast
hi babrab
Hi Jilli
so, when i can, mostly after work i think.
wow dc would really miss not seeing you
hello Volley too
i'll be on at wee hours as i can :)

dcseian, are you of Irish decsent?
firewords
no, sarah, but my name is. the relative who claimed to be irish, admitted she was Welsh on her deathbed, not long after i was born.
*dcseain
congrats, dart!
Hooray for Dart !
she lied to immigration here, because she feared being put to work in a coal mine again, which is what she did in Wales.
vn dart
Hehehe. You spell your name correctly, as per Gaelic.
congrats, dart
cool down down there yet oss?
no dart, been over 40C again today and yesterday
respite tomorrow, will only be about 33C
hen back to over 40C on Mon and Tues
here, it's frigid. terrible windy and temps tonight around 10ºF.
work friend going down there in about 3 weeks...telling him its hottt
here to Perth?
east coast syd..melb ...hobart..cairns
ask him what's wrong with Perth?!! lol
said they give him 3 domestic legs...then 100/leg after that
is he getting any of the Australian Open Tennis in?
ok, darty, what is 10F?
just sightseeing and diving
about -12 c
oh the diving will cool him off then lol
oh dc, that's cold then!
it never gets below 0C here
I think last couple of winters it didn't get below 5C
yest. hi was 0 f...got down to -18f last night...we are at the high for today now...3 above f with a good wind...very chilly
very very cold for here, though warm compared to when i lived in Boston
they went to metric here, hmm, now let me see, sometime in the 70s I think, so forgotten what those temps mean lol
coonverted for ossie....1/1 hi -17c
flippity flip
low was -27c
oh my goodness me, I can't even imagine how cold that is
cars dont like it much
lol - you have double glazing dart?
get black ice sometimes...they put a lot of salt spray mix on roads...great for rusting out your car
black ice is treacherous
when it gets real cold....-30 or more...then you get a flat spot in the tires....kind of rolls funny for a while....flat on the spot it was parked
my husband in Berlin in 1983 slid into a Mercedes which then shunted 3 other very nice German cars
oic
in 1983
lol i was 2
yep
lol saddy
I guess some people would have had to have been
sometimes people around here drive like idiots...they forget early in the snow season that they cant stop quickly...and you get some 5-10 car pileups on the freeway when someone loses control
yeah, i know what you mean dart.
yes
here, we get snow rarely enough, little good comes of it on the roads.
or they are yakking on their cell phone while driving...a pet peeve of mine....hope they can live with it if they kill someone
we only get snow in Tasmania and in the Victorian mountains
that's outlawed here but you see people still doing it
wish they would here
it's illegal here too, if handheld, but many still do it.
by 'here' i mean an Maryland, DC, Virginia, and West Virgnia.
even if hands free..your brain is still somewhere else
we have "hoons" here that burn tons of rubber, and they have put Youtube videos up, so now the police are after them lol
falling alseep in my chair...over half way.. go ing to bed

hi mva
yes, you're absolutely right dart
night all say hi to sprite -- hope she like my Dutch icon
no, not in the American vocab
like yonks huh?
it is very common here lol
yes and for yonks
it is beautiful Jilli - do you have the original?
hoon, that's a vehicle type?
nope, their the people who hoon in their cars
no, that a hoonmobile DC
is it short for a larger word?
they are usually young males in suped up cars
lol..ossieA...see hoon is a viable word... enable will allow yob..but not hoon...
no dart
lynxxx -- if you read the proifle you'll know I have a print which belonged to my gradfather -- it's in a rather nice black frame with inset pearl flowers
lynxx, how is stewart?
Pounce
they go past my place here on a Friday night hooning around
oh, I read the profile but missed 'print' - sounds and looks beautiful though Jilli
yes, give stewart a scritch behind the ears from me :)
Gets better everyday MVA
I love it
you a New Zealander jili? lol
Hi Infernal
so bye bye all *poof*
New Zealander??? No -- why?
lol, you said scritch instead of scratch
just sounds NZ
it's a doggie kind of scratch, lol -- kittyish too
scritch is gentler than scratch
now really *poof* :)
one scratches an itch, but scritches fondly
right on, dc
wouldn't NZers say scrutch? (hope Kiwi isn't playing)
BYE!!!
bye
very similar lync
g'night jilli :D
Saddy, has it calmed down now in Pakistan?
we have big bushfires here
in perth or nearby?
is it fire season there, ossie?
near Perth and yes dc, and 3 truckies were killed a few days ago driving through bushfires in the goldfields, they were waved through a road block that had been set up
truckies?
their trucks were all burnt out
there you go darty, another word for you, lol
ones who drive big rigs?
hello everyone :)
yes dc
hi, mrp! :D
hiya mrp :)
hi mrp

one house has burnt down today and 30 are now under threat
hello MRP - welcome back
it looked shocking lynx
same here ossie, what terrible tragic events
yes mrp, more bushfires threatening now
where are the fires Ossie
hi dcs :))

up in the hills no doubt, very leafy there
haven't seen joso for ever!! he has fallen off the planet?? or have I been missing him
they were south of Perth, maybe 30 kms south a few days ago too, could smell the smoke in the air
POUNCE. Joso has been about
i've heard tell he's been on in the days a bit. i've not seen him either, and miss him.
and mrp, i'm switching to days next week.
and with the temps we're getting, is very diff for the firefighters
i was informed tonight.
hi mrp
for the past 2 days I've been getting a new patio put up, been giving the workman iced water
hi infern :) hi mva :)
so i won't be seeing you dcs :( *teary* ??

yes
must have...but dont remember it
must of been chatting w/coworker
My friend just got sent one of these
http://clymercreations.com/html/007.ht ml
a little bit freaky Infernal
those appear well-crafted, if monotone in skin color.
yes, i do agree lynxxx
They feel freaky and they are actually realistically coloured.
i meant they all appear european, which is always weird-looking to me, as about 60% people here are not of european descent, or at least not of full european descent.
going now, bbl, have fun all!
ciao, mva :)
That is the fairies there is different colour reborns
Later MVA
bye MVA
Morning all.....
morning, flask!
HI Flask
Hi Flask!
Bye MVA. Hello Flask
Sorry......don't know what happened there!
np, frances. i like your yellow snowy owl
Yay - got a 9
REs were not too bad today
Did have a snowy owl the other day. Today I have a daffodl.
so the other 9 is an re? - got the cr
the hills here are covered in daffodils from late Feb-early Apr
no, no RE9
both are CRs
oh (slumps back down) TY
Good morning everyone :-)
Oster is in the grid today. no z to make Osterizer, though.
morning, katie :)
Hi Katie
That is when our daffodils usually how first but in Cornwall they are out already.
not much of a winter, or fall, in Cornwall this year?
Hello katie
Hey Katie
Well Cornwall is known as the English Riviera so always a lot milder there.
Anyone else tried jedhi?
i tried it, but not with an h. :)
no but same as DC
Hi everyone - you're right about the daffodils in Cornwall - we had some in bloom just before Christmas
morning, jfb.
Hi JFB
morning dc
and herin
last year we effectively had no witner here, and trees started blooming in Feb and early March.
Morning JFB
Hello JFB and if anyone should know, you should eh?
All the magnolia trees around here have huge buds on.
deciduous magnial that get the pnkt-to- purple-white flowers?
Yes dc
we have those here, too. they bloom 6-8 weeks before the evergreen magnolias.
I have had photos of the Magnolia trees here
the deciduous ones originate in Britain then?
think i may log of for a while my brain isn''t thinking. laters
ciao, lady
Dc think you'll find they are native to Asia and America. Magnolia grandiflora is the official state flower of both Mississippi and Louisiana.
yes, i live at the northern limit of grandiflora, and it's the onnly kind i'd seen until i was in my 20s.
A house near me has a magnificent specimen in the garden. Flowers the size of dinner plates.
i love the way the grandiflora smell. There are some gloriously large ones on the West side of the US Capitol.
Cornwall must be at least as mild has here, then, for a home near you to have such a specimen, Frances. I didn't know that they were grown elsewhere in the world.
I'm not in Cornwall dc. Far from it and I have never seen another in this country.
A friend of mine has grown peaches in her garden for years.
my, bad frances, Essex i see.
one house i lived in had one each of plum, peaches, apples, and crabapples. :)
No problem dc.
Must be off - bbl
Bye FB
this games is shit
ciao, jfb
The house I grew up in had a peach tree in the garden.
there are pear trees at the house i grew up in.
ohh i love peaches
fresh from the tree peaches are a joy. i don't care for store-bought generally, unless very locally grown.
Wish I had an orchard withg every known fruit tree. love fruit.
I must go home and get my USB keyboard. This wireless one is getting me down.
sadly, many won't grow in a temperate climate like the ones we live in.
That would be a problem dc.
DC... I think we have a Grandiflora in our melbourne Botanic Gardens - there is a large colection of magnolias there. As well a historic estate around the corner from me has a large number of the Grand as well. magnolias generally are v common in melbourne
a friend who lives in the city has been able to maintain a pomegranate tree for 6 years now.
should have known they were exported long ago, lynxxx :)
How wonderful. A fruit full of rubies.
chocolate-covered altoids are a happy
Altoids - mints?
coworker was telling me that in Pakistan they sell dried pomegranate seeds, which they combine with curried pototato in a fried dough.
yes, frances
Hello one and all! My kids are all at home beause of Christmas vacation from school and I had to send them all out to walk the dog to get 15 minutes alone on the grid. They are more obsessed than I!
and they are good at it!
morning, marmar :)
I hope everyone had a nice new year's eve/day and best wishes for 2008.
i did, ty marmar, and unto you also :)
Danke.
Morroccan restaurant that I go to has 'pizza' w. pumpkin, feta and pomegranate jam. stunning
Hi Marmar - HNY
Francis and DC, your "peach" conversation reminded me of this last summer, July in Sebasopol CA at my brothers house eating as many juicy ripe peaches from their peach tree as we could...that was heavenly!
oh, that sounds fabulous, lynxxx! i shall see if Egyptian Pizza does that next i'm there. Egyptian Pizza is a chain of sit-down restaurants in Baltimore, MD.
Hello lynxxx!
i like fig jam with bleu cheeses, speaking of yrou pizza, lynxxx
sweet & sour is always good!
Ever had jalapeno jelly with cream cheese? A true taste treat!
i have, marmar, though i'm not that big a fan of cream cheese in and of itself.
Ha, DC, somehow, I knew that! But that jelly...SO good!
my roommate's stepmom makes a lovely jalapeño jelly
jalapeno jelly is hot? like chili? (chili sauce & cream cheese was/is big here)
good morning all! How is the grid today?
Is she from the southwest?
Hello Sprite!
morning, sprite! it's alright.
yes, marmar, from Texas.
Hi Sprite - welcome back! or have I just been missing you?
for those of you who've not heard, tomorrow is my last night shift for a while. i'm switching back to days next week. was just told today.
Back with fresh coffee., Morning sprite.
lynxxx, what I had was very spicy but of course the cheese balances everything out.
So we'll be seeing you at the other end of the day?
lol lynxxx, no, I just dropped in for the first time today :) Good to see you all, guys. In case we have not met in the last few days: happy new year. May your year be filled with blessings.
Same to you sprite, happy new year!
I will be missing you, dc. Hope to see enough of you when I play at odd times :)
You too sprite
wb Frances
hi everyone. and no lynxxx, we didn't go for that ride. mowed the lawns instead :(
oh, btw... any news on the skull shawl?
and for you too Sprite, I hope this year brings you health, happiness - & wealth as well if you like
emailing myself now, sprite :">
Skull shawl!?
Hi Rose! I suppose you are going tomorrow in all the heat (mad bikers!)
I'd love that, lynxxx...material wealth that is, cause I am already blessed with a loving husband and two great kids... that is also wealth :) Thanks for the great wishes!
a friend has a pattern for a scarf with a very subtle skull in it, frances.
dc, you are the best :D
Hm.....interesting.
hmmmm, maybe. but it is cooler on the bike, especially if we head further into the hills
hi rose!
hey sprite, how's the new year treating you?
well, my kids are back and took over the grid, I'll check in from time to time....
ciao, marmar
bye Marmar, we'll keep an eye on them!
so far not good, rose... we had a series of bad luck. Car broken down, heater too, and I got blessed with another physical problem. I really really hope this year will get better!
Bye Marmar
maybe I'll go workout with DDR! Thanks you guys! It actually feels nice to have three little babblers in the house. See you later!
*hugs Marmar*
the family that plays together, stays together
i understand, sprite. but what is it that ails you?
Positive thoughts sprite. You do not need or deserve another year like the last.
sprite, francs: this is the pattern: http://tinyurl.com/3dgnkz it's beautifully subtle when done in a single colour; my friend chose black.
not sure what the english name is... inflammation of the soft tissue in the shoulder. So now I cannot walk too well, and can't use my arm... and am totally stationary while battling depression and ptss. Let's say I feel challenged ;)
keep it together girl. i've had some pretty rotten years myself. you just take one day at a time, and if that's too much, one hour at a time.
dc, thanks a million. It looks great!
bursitis
that is it, thanks BabbleRabble, and good to see you :)
Hello, sprite
Frances, thank you for saying that! I sometimes make the mistake to think I must have done something so terribly wrong to deserve it all. Like fate has a personal vendetta against me, lol... not likely.
Bursitis I think sprite. I've had that and I sympathise with you.
ed
unfortunately, my career has thus far ruined my spine, osteoarthritis in all major joints, and i've had three shoulder decompressions with 2 rotator cuff repairs. and i go back for more!
arrgh rose, that sounds so painful! I am sorry :(
Interesting pattern dc........and as for the lace-up opera gloves......well!
nah, i'm through to the other side now. into my 5 year plan, then retiring... as my hubby says, yeah right!
you and the USSR?
USSR had 13 five-year plans
hehehe, retiring... but not to being idle, I bet, rose.
this dr6 is driving me nuts! can anyone pls help?
ah, now I get it, lol BabbleRabble.
plural of the dr5.12? as in clothes dr****
hahha babrab. don't you know? nurses never retire....
dr6/21 opp to wetters
no no no the first one dr6/30
Just \trying to thinbk of a clue for you rmcc
dc, thanks for the unicolor advice! I can see how that would be really beautiful. My son will love it in black. I think I will too :)
dr6.30 dr + Santa drives a sl**** - swap those vowels around
Well done lynn. I was really struggling to clue that one.
ty, lynxxx
lol, frances, is it that bad?yup it was!!! thanx frances
* lynxxx*
thanks for that one!
a nice, flowing grid
you know, that would have to be the only combo i DIDN'T try ggggrrrr
you done, BabbleRabble? Congrats!
four h words to go, and one t word.
I'm not even halfway ! think I'll take Stew for a walk and come back refreshed. Bye for now - and congrats in advance Rose

ciao, lynxxx
By lyn. Enjoy your walk. I must go to my home and get a keyboard before I tear all my hair out. See you later.

yvw mrP!
***hugggggs*** back to you sprite!
rmcc, it was in last nights grid too I believe
plural of the he 5/14
mrP, I have sent you an email a while ago, about the skype thing. Did you get it?
hi, banana!
hi dc, HNY
thanx banana, going off the wrong H
hny 2 u 2, banana :)
i do apologise sprite, i have not been a good girl with email over the holiday season. plus, my puter is missing in packing action. I will get onto it tomorrow and check it out!! I am needing to find my password again so I can use it on this puter
no hurry at all, mrP, just been worried about you getting it. Asked about it a couple of times in babble chat, but I guess that disappeared in general chatter... I will need you to help me find back my skype name, lol.
heh, dcs are the letters i have left in the grid :)
ah, I know what that is
shall I send it to you once i have my puter back?? I will get lickety to unpack it tomorrow
it is a b*tch, having to reinstall everything when the emails with particulars are lost. Teaches me to backup more often, groan.
of course, darling, no hurry at all.
oh it is awful to lose everything!
thanks sweetie. must go put the 'babies' to bed, they have a big day tomorrow with friends... see you all soon! *hugs*
miscommunication between me and the repair man. I could't get access at all, so I wanted him to give me access. He saw how neatly I have separate drives for programs and files, and thought he could reinstall windows without problems.
arcanum /ar-KAY-nuhm/, noun; plural arcana /-nuh/: 1. A secret; a mystery. 2. Specialized or mysterious knowledge, language, or information that is not accessible to the average person (generally used in the plural).
hug your big babies from me (all three of them) :D
oh, so he overwrote it all w/out backing it up, not realizing that the files partition did not contain apps, but rather the OS one did. I guess he thought you had separate OS and Apps partitions.
dc, I still cannot open profiles, but is your icon really a dutch box of chocolate things for on bread?
yes, it's De Ruijter Chocolade Hagelslag Puur
my friend brought me a box when she visited Amsterdam for work last year.
I did, dc. But my emails and folders of gifs/jpgs and some txt files were in My Documents.
oh, total bummer. :(
wonderful, dc! Very recognisable! And lovely.
hello
yes, we've nothing at all like it here.
so if I had gotten access, I could have made backups from those and all would have been well. Now I have lost all emails, because my last big backup is corrupt :(
hi coolits.
hi, coolits.
im a newbie here
welcome to the game and the fun (and the madness) then, coolits!
coolits, how to play is explained in the Help link above. Welcome!
tnx sprite
ok well taken
i've gov 140 but i'm going to have to go to the list soon!
may we ask where in the world you are coolits?
but i cant stay too long for now
maybe ill be back by tomorrow cause my job is done here
more than halfway is respectable today, katie.
also, Angelsong's Help page (link at the bottom under Friends of Babble) is very helpful. And if that does not help, we can try and help you too. Be warned though... Babble is very addictive to word lovers.
im going home
eeks katie... that bad?
ciao, coolits, see you another time.
going home sounds good.
nice meeting you all people... i felt warm welcome... many thanks
I have a complete block, will try and battle on for a while. bye coolits :-)
bye for now, coolits, and have a good trip home
whoot, i'm done!!!
katie: time for coffee, tea or something else, a little while away from the grid maybe? To help the brain reset? :)
wtg rose!
Congrats RMCC
Ata's house is a phantom, grrrrr
congrats, rose!
ata's house?
dc: oast.
found the cr8/9s on my own :D
wtg dc!
thanx all. does anyone know where i can get a copy of enable? even answers.com can't give me a definition of some of tinight's words.
i googled it, and with some digging, found it can be downloaded. a vote you email lickety, he knows, as he uses it.
thanx dcs, will do
So did I dc, now very proud of myself :-)
you downloaded it, or found that it can be?
Now over half way through :-)
http://personal.riverusers.com/~thegre ndel/software.html
Sorry i'm on about finding the cr 8/9 on my own :-)
wtg katie!
I'm going to pop off for a coffee now, see you all later.

Congrats DC !!
arrghh no, the past tense, not the person who, sorry
Yeah Congrats DC
very well done, dc!
ty, all. i'm amazed i'm done b4 i need to leave work.
playing certainly improves one's ability to play. Practice makes perfect apparently.
absolutely, dc!
until you come across a small grid, attack it full speed and slow down to snail pace after 10 words, lol...
babble teaches me to be humble at least once a day!
yes, the small ones are much harder, esp when filled with vowels.
today's seems easy so far. I am flying through it.
hi sprite
though I had some trouble with the O.
saddy! *hug* How are you?
:) im good howre you
enjoying today's grid and the company!
wb, saddy!
ty dc
and congrats on the fireworks dc
i still have 170 left
:P
I see you have your flag, saddy!
Aloha Babblers!
hello Fran!
aloha, fran! hny! finished sudoku?
hi lynxxx!
hi Fran! *hugs*
yeah.. i got it a couple of days after i complained ;)
hey fran
yes i did dc. :-)
I love it, Saddy!
hi sprite!
hi saddy!
my brain so far has not wrapped itself around sudoku
that stuff in your icon looks great dc!
I am months behind in sudoku.
im off to tackle the much hated co's
it is fran, very tasty, and the most fascinating shape.
dc, if you forget that they are numbers and just use logic you might like it better
go saddy go!
it is common as dirt in the netherlands, dc!
i like this grid, found the st7 right away!
so i've been told, sprite. here, it's a rare treat.
sudoku is about symbols, not about numbers.
hm. maybe i should try snoodoku, and see if i do better with it.
I can send you some at any time, dc, if that is allowed in the states.
I started with snoodoku!
snoodoku?
long before I ever made a sudoku with numbers!
and i'm clear on the patterness of it. it's the eliminating posibilities that i'm not so good with.
really sprite? You know snood?
fran, see www.snood.com
http://womgames.com/games/index.php?ga me=snoodoku
I do, dc! I even have it :)
i was so happy when they ported snood to windows :)
i think i would do better with the numbers in the traditional game
only sad thing about it is, once you get better in it, you find that the really tough puzzles are sometimes in a pattern. Like, if one row has abc, and the next row shows a*c, it is always B. Not so well-made puzzles.
better AT it, not IN it. Sorry, dutchism.
wow, i'm loving all the great endings in this one
rewarding grid, isn't it, Fran :)
eep, just saw there are 2 9s and 7 8s!
it's great sprite!
and fireworks :)
yay sprite!!!
My endings mostly are happy since I generally am glad the process is over
congrats, sprite
:D BabbleRabble
hi babrab!
Hello, Fran
argh, disgusting vid!
i guess i'm not missing anything then. :-)
re
errrr no, not really, I think... though it is kinda funny. But gro... groes... gross... don't know the spelling. Yuck!
hello, pohandmd, concerning what?
I don't understand these shout outs that happen. It is not supposed to go to chat if not more than 1 word
hi phand!
gross works sprite. :-)
good morning
good morning phand! :-)
phan, it sometimes happens when you hit space accidentally, or you type so fast you are faster than the site.
phan, if there's a space after the word, it sends to chat
morning, phan
thanks Fran!
actually it must be before it; as I have tried one word with a space after.
well, been here .5 hr and have 117 words.
I had it a couple of times when the site was slow for me.
great grid, eh phand?
well, I am not a fan of these biguns
i must away, yall. catch yall tomorrow
bye dc! have a good night!
Hope your day/night is fabulous {poof}
see ya later
*hugs dc*
I am off too, *hugs* for those who want them and greetings for all.
have a great day sprite! ((hug))
halfway... finally
bye sprite
down to 82 words to find; will come back later to find them have a great day to anyone that happens to be here still
bye phand!
have a good one Fran!
you too! :-)
Morning everybody, its snowing!! how many today then?
good morning babblers
hi bfsog! i'm good, but up too late
hi nono!
299 bf
lol, for some reason, i read "how are we today?" instead of how many. sorry bfs. :-)
ha ha its ok, good to hear you're today
*fine today fran
:-)
what's the weather like with you fran, heard there was alot of snow in the states at the moment!
not in my state, i'm in Hawaii. :-)
if fran has snow we're all in trouble LOL
its fridgid here but no snow today
that's true nono!
oh you lucky thing!! lol im up in north east scotland, its absolutely freezing and the snow has just begun, yippee!!
ha ha good point nono
ha ha good point nono
we do get snow on mauna kea, but that a very high elevation.
Lol...If Fran has snow we ARE all in trouble. I have snow, but that is to be expected! Morning babblers! Is this 299 as great as it looks?
so far it's moving really nicely uni. lots of good endings
and good morning!
morning Uni its a nice grid so far a few new words but not bad
I need a clue on the DR6,30 please... i cant seem to find it
I spy three Rs next to an e, as well as an S and a D next to an E! Looks good....
don't have that yet saddy, let me look
dr6.30 dr + Santa drives a sl**** - but swap the vowels around
thanks lynxxx!
and hello!
yw, hi - just sitting here in the background occasionally finding words
oh... smacks forehead on monitor... I wasnt even looking at the G in the corner... ... Thanks fran
Hey Lynxx! Thanks for that...I never would have monkeyed
you mean lynxxx of course. :-)
Good morning! LOL on a hot place suddenly getting cold...it's 18
hi JBs!
Hi Uniquity. of course you would have
18F here in Philadelphia and WINDY as well
Hi JBs
oops! sorry for inadvertent word in chat!
hi JB
only 7 here in southern tier of ny
I think that word will pop up a lot, JB!
Has anyone else tried 'steroid'?
Especially before anyone has finished...I do it by accident when I don't see the word in there
okay, the arrival of mainlanders means i'm up too late!!
of crap i just put a word in too :(
True, Uni, true!
Thanks, now I will all day. Only six words in and already being followed by phantoms!
Brr, Nan! I'm not looking forward to waiting for the bus this morning!
Hee, hee, Uni! The ghosts (that's another one) of Babble present haunt us all.
111 left for tomorrow. I'll see you all later! have a good day everyone and good night lynxxx!
sleep well Fran
gnite, Fran!
nite Fran
Did someone mention Snood earlier in the chat? It went by just as I started
yes they did JB
Oh, missed it...But good night Fran!
they were talking about snoodoku
Ah, if only I had those hours back from Snood, I'd play Babble lots more
Uh, oh, sounds like another way to get myself in trouble, Nan - snoodoku?
Gotta google!
yeah it's a downloadable game similar to sudoku but with pictures instead of numbers
its at www.snood.com
Lol! You guys are feeding off each other's addictions!
i gave it look over but don't think i'll get into it LOL
Whew (grid check, okay, not a word!), I'm safe! Sudoku is okay, but not a draw for me, even with Snood characters.
have played sudoku for ages really like solving a tough one
Now, Uni, if you were talking jigsaw puzzles online, I'd be listening!
Good morning, babblers, it's 7:00 a.m. - seems like a great grid today- moving along fast
jigzone.com!
YES, Uni! Whoo hoo!
oh JB i belong to a jigsaw group on yahoo would you like the link?
G'morning, JBV, yes, a nice grid with lots of endings
Thanks, Nan, sure!
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/ji gsawsgalore/
http://tinyurl.com/25f52x this will work better
tyvm, Nan!
your welcome
I got it on the first url, Nan, just had to eliminate the line break
Have you used jigzone before Nono? I like te new puzzle every day business
Okay, 108 so far, and time to get ready for work. Lots of layers today for wind chill factor, right, Nan?
I have uni but this group has much nicer puzzles
Uni, one of my favorite puzzles is the color chart. And I always pick the 70 piece bulbs
Okay, one more complete change of subject that has nothing to do with the grid today, but I want to get this off my chest: Do any of you ever fill out web surveys on sites you visit? I did last night for one of our local channels, hoo boy
i have a couple of times JB
I tend to ignore anything that even remotely resembles spam on the internet, but I have before, JB. Why do you ask?
and it went on, and on, and on
yeah they tell you it will take just a few minutes but yikes it goes on forever
and if I missed an answer, it wouldn't go to the next screen. Well, after about 20 screens I stopped being helpful
Totally, Nan! But I was determined to see it through, just to see how bad it was
And it was
Bad!
Bad!
sounds like a survey i did after placing an order on walmart.com lol
That's a big part of why I avoid surveys!
I won't do them anymore. It's just for their own use, no good to me.
hubby is up, time to fix breakfast.... bbl
I do online surveys for candidates who interview with us, and I keep it to 10 questions, tops!
brb!
So I started using any comment boxes to give answers like: this survey is way too long; how many more questions; you've got to be kidding me; and whatotherwebsitesIvisitisnoneofyourdan gbusiness.com
There, I feel much better now, thanks for letting me unload!
Fiber, and Uni, sometimes I fill them out because I make surveys and it gives me a measure of sorts on how easy one should be to navigate and complete.
LOL! JBs, I think that was the perfect response!
I had to laugh, Uni, at the ridiculousness of it!
Now I want to fill out a tremendously long survey...with all sorts of unnecessary info.
Hmm, I may have unleashed the beast!! LOL, Uni!
Oh, and look at the time! I've already let the bus go by, fortunately for me there are several in this hour.
Happy Babbling! I'll catch up with u later, Uni! *poof*
good morning everyone. Trying to work up the resolve to take a walk despite the -6 degree temp outside. Not much luck so far.
oooh, good luck with the resolve Eva!
getting out of my nightgown would be a good first step
91 left and totally stuck
g'morning everyone
morning spec
Morning spec!
Back with bagel and hot chocolate, ready to re-tackle (at only 43 words)
anyone have any hints for the 9's? Are they the dreaded re's?
mmm - hot chocolate sounds good =) perfect for cold mornings like today
Not I, Eva...barely even started. I can check the list for you though, one sec!
Both 9's are cr words, one a plural, the other a descriptive/past tense.
That was fast...both cr
Oh Haz...you and your timing
thanks haz and uniq! Now have to find them
I just know how to make an entrance! Good morning/afternoon all.
Hi
found the plural right away. Interesting how things are invisible until a clue. Haven't found theother one yet.
Well...I am gonna dive into the grid more adequately. Will come up occasionally. Take care Haz, ;)
do they have the same base Haz?
Until later, Uniquity.
donkey
The second one refers to something you might paint a fence with. Smelly, tarry stuff.
Eva, I'll trade you. I found the other one. CR 8 is the stuff they used to treat fence posts and telephone poles with.
moo
As someone who heats with a wood stove I can't believe I didn't see that one right away. gramma- the other one has to do with not buying with cash-but with a plastic card
TY
speaking of wood stoves. Time to go take care of it. brrr
8 below here
Good morning all
hi gramma-just got back from a week in Boston and boy has the landscape changed. Beautiful!!!
zHello Johnny
Looks like another big one today
It's absolutely stunning! You have to love Vermont.
Hi johnny
had to put my snowshoes on yesterday to fill the bird feeder. It used to be about 5 feet off the ground and is now about 3 feet above the snow and has become more of a deer feeder. Think I need to raise it, but then when spring thaw comes I won't be able to reach it.
How is everyone today... chilly here in VA
okay, enough delaying. see you later
um its going to be nearly 100 F here over the weekend
Nippy here in NS.
My sweetie and I were over the mountain in Fayston snowmobiling the day before yesterday. It never stopped snowing.
freakin freezin' here in ON
Bye ,Eva
wow... have fun with that herin... at least with 22 F mornings a sweatshirt and jacket helps. not much you can do with 100F
**lobbing icy spitball uni's way**
POUNCE Carlee. Massive festive hugs
hey herin...Happy new year
We were promised snow today but nothing so far (lunchtime)
Ouch! Carlee hurt me, Carlee hurt me! **Runs crying to Mummy**
*throws icycle dart at Kattie**
**rolling eyes at uni's fit of drama**
Hey Deb. Uni Lori isn't here right now. Big girls blouse :p
hi, all. I'm over halfway through the grid in just over half an hour
I have surrogate mothers too, ya know. I am sure at least one of them is around. Unfortunately, it might be Carlee...
Hi Lady and happy New Year to everyone
Hi Angel. Angel does the word or colour or object Orange mean anything to you?
sucks to be u uni :p~~~~
Attacks Uni with a snow ball from my freezer
Oh well, my hot chocolate will console me!
herin, are you asking me about orange?
Yes
hmmm. not that I know of. why?
Angel that was Yes. The word Orange and you keep rattling about in my strange little brain. Don't ask me why i have no idea
time to wake my daughter..dentist in 1 hour
I had carrots in my salad at lunch. does that count?
Is it 8 there Carlee? I have my time zones muddled again
No. Um its like a sweater or a painting or wall colour that kind of thing. My brain is being nutso dont mind it. I just live in it. Bye Carlee best of luck
herin...I was reading an article on painting rooms different colors yesterday. one mentioned was orange.
I think this was a few days ago. I am a strange creature don't ask me why Orange and you got connected. Did you just arrange the room different? um err d
not since just after we moved in.
Ok that horse has been flogged. I cant figure it out. Silly monkey brain.
How is new house?
okay did 75 words... time to do a little work. Will be back later
Later Johnny
it's wonderful, Herin. made our first mortgage payment last night.
I would love to be able to moce
move
It sounds like you love the new place
I do! I truly feel at peace, here.
That is nice. I still don't call here home
back... breakfast is done and I am ready to tackle the last 85 words
hi nono
Yay Nono! Go go go!
night all
nite herin sleep well
Hello, hello, hello...is there anybody out there? :)
hey uniq
I am over here! Can you hear me?
still here
hi Scrabbs
Hi bf! Hi Scrabs! (You're cutting out...can you hear me now?)
It's OK, Uniquity, you are not alone!
I can hear you now....we have a good connection. These darn cell towers can act up.
Nanette--it's 11F here, how about you?
they really do!
7 here scrabbs
Yikes, Nanette! It is supposed to warm up this weekend--up into the 40's.
oh geeees i just updated my weather bug... scratch that 7 its only 1 F here!
Lake Erie keeps us "warm" in the winter whereas you are landlocked.
weather man last nite said 50's for monday and tuesday!! bring it on
Lake Erie also keeps you burried in snow so you can have it!!
Yes, we get the snow machine!
its 3f here
but going up to 50F by monday
it's not nearly warm enough herre...i could use some more degrees
Hi Carlee! My friend and I will crosscountry ski tomorrow before it warms up and the snow melts.
hi scrabs
sounds nice...
But right now I am sucking down coffee to stay warm.
same here as well as my little space heater
i just got an 8 letter word on my own!
wtg Uni
( i am SO not seeing the so words)
and a 9!!
woohoo uni
Same with me, Carlee--I am seeing the easy ones and 3 6's but nothing bigger
ahha you must be in the cr's
there is another cr8,9 combo too
Share Uni, please? With a cherry on top?
the cr 8/9 is stuff that builds up in ur chimney
or...the bank loan manager/ s
the other is the one who gives you a loan and pl
then there a whole bunch of 8's that refer to what an iron does, is in process of doing...or did
TY, TY! I found both pairs.
Hmm, press, steam.....?
Aww, I went to check the fire and missed my cluing opportunity :)
then there the rh electrical gadget that allows u to change resistance in a circuit....ends with "average mean mode " etc subject
hmmm those must be the8's i dont have carlee what do they start with?
Always sit at the ready, you never know when a clueing opportunity may arise, Uniquity.
sm
TY for the RH..but what does the ironing word start with? Hi Hazel---the always alert and present Chief of Babble Police.
but it was cold in here!
oh ok i have those only one is an 8 tho
THink of the old ' Dashing away with the ...........iron' song.
Aha--TY, Carlee
or is there more?
good morning, folks
There are three 8 variations on the sm8 theme. All are the same, save for the last consonant.
yep got them now thanks!
The middle last consonant in the series being the most unexpected.
hello takuma!
Oh Haz, I have an official complaint for the police chief - Scarlet appoited me as the new taker of blaim last night, and I want you to help me protest it. Those crazy Americans are breaking all the laws of England!
TY, I found the 3rd sm8.
Good morning Takuma.
Hi Takuma
nope..that is fm's job uni
Hey Taku
I thought that FMitch was the Official Taker of Blame.
blaim...blame. Whatever!
The taker of blame? You're too young for such an onerous task. That has to fall on an older person's shoulders. FMitch has been established as blame taker since Magna Carta and you don't get much older than that.
ok..and on that note....off to the dentist for the kiddoes....
However, since the god of love is in the grid today, she may be notable by her absence. I leave you to draw your own conclusions.
Good. I thought I was in the right! I shall blame FM for the mix-up
Well done, Uni. Scarlet must have been delusional or something.
Agreed. She must be attempting colonization?
LOL, ladies!!
I dread to think, Uniquity. We'll keep an eye on her. Better yet, this may be a job for Anniebrook.
You rang?
Timing. You can't teach it.
The timing in chat today is simply impeccable!
Haha, Annie--Good morning to you.
good morning Annie
46 to go after the first pass through the grid.
Hello Annie. Good to have you report in so promptly. Scarlet is worrying us - trying to say that FM is not to blame and trying to put the blame on Uniquity. Can you keep her under surveillance for us?
Beware her sneaky tinfoil hat...she thinks she is impervious to our espionage
Wow, Angel. I have 213 to go after random fumbling through the grid.
Any chance of a new disguise. Word has got around about the nun's habit.
Walks into the log dripping water, I was in the bath and the blame'o'meter was going nuts!!! What's going on? Oh and Happy New Year dear Babblers.
Do you think that Scarlet is still spiking the egg nog?
Hello everyone! Shall I sned a nunical message to Scarlet that FM is the taker of all blame? I will be hovering today!
Timing - again, I say, you can't teach it. Hello FMitch!
good morning F"Mitch and happy new year to you as well
Haha,FMitch--perfect timing. This is scripted today!
It's okay Fmitch...annie and haz are taking care of things...with scrabs on call in case things get too out of hand
We should write soap operas....we're so good!
What I would like to know, Annie, is where Scarlet is getting these rebellious ideas from. Could there be a red under red's bed?
G'd mornign Babblers! Uni has appealed to my penchant for distraction, and reeled me in. Grid, schmid!
*Waves at everyone and soaks Uni who happens to be standing close*
hi everyone!
If there is to be a sexy nurse in this piece of espionage/soap operatry, I call it!
Weren't you around for the first draft of the soap opera, Uniquity? Lost memories, lost babies, dreadful illnesses galore.
Hello TO!
Awww....now I'm all wet AND I have an icy spitball in my ear. **stands by fire**
G'd morning TO. Watch out for FMitch. Crusing for a water fight....
If George Clooney is to be in it - get in line ladies.
Hi Owl! Hi Lori!
Ooh...George can be the darkly handsome doctor with a troubled past and a questionable ex-wife...my leading man, of course!
What grid? Hazel, the only thing under Scarlet's bed are dust bunnies but I am checking the liquor cabinet. I believe she overdid the eggnog enhancing this year!
HAnds Uni a towel and Hi LoriP, did you get a new clipboard for Christmas?
yikes! what have i walked in on???
good morning Lori!! good to see you
He will if you let him out Haz!
Hello TO, nothing strange going on here, honest!
hi TO!
Hey TO! We're just....babbling!
I can be George's supervising doctor, so that I can be on top of him, so to speak.
I knew it. Mention George and witchy (who snaffled him) shows up.
hello everyone.... Happy New Year !!!!...... first 'back to normal' day for me
Hey Nono! FMitch, I have a shiny metal clipboard now. Please stop. You're rusting it.....
Suggested name for soap opera "The Young & General Babble-enders"
Hi Witchy and Karys
Oooh...Scrabs is gonna try and steal George out from under me in this charade? Catfight...
G'd morning wittchy, karys
Nothing normal in the chat, KArys!
I sent him back Haz
Hello Karys, Happy New Year to you.
Watch out Scrabbler, Uni fights dirty....
uh, yes, of course . pardon me, i must have made a wrong turn, thought i was in babblelonia : /
it is really, really cold here today !!
Morning, all! Oh, so that's where George is. Never thought to look under you, Uni.
Personally I can't see what all the fuss is about re GC... runs to the penalty box for safety.
Heorge is spending far too much time in the UK. I think he could do with some Canadian weather.
I know, witchy, but how come he's across the pond?
Didn't think there would be for a minute Scrabbs !
Poor FMitch - not the only babbler who needs her head examined.
Hi Karys and Happy New Year.
Obviously yet more Post Office mistakes!!
Oh dear FM...this blasphemy must be ceased.
Or Uni intercepted him?
And let's face it, witchy, if you sent him through Heathrow.....
Ladies, Ladies, think of it the other way, one less woman to have to share him with.
**smiles wickedly**
**Checking everyone's heart rates and BP's to make sure no one is dangerously high.**
That wicked streak in Uniquity manifests itself more and more often.
Is George missing? Does FM have him hidden in the penalty box? Are there goodies in the penalty box?
Ah well, now that she is a pro - we are seeing her true colours!
So wicked for one so young
*eating oatmeal* Heart healthy.
That's true, FMitch - but if he caught sight of you in that red velvet dress, who knows what might happen. (Note to self, destroy all evidence of the red dress)
lol Annie
what have I stumbled into?
Annie - you're here to ANSWER questions!!
Annie, you're the detective, you tell us!
Uni--I am trying to make a word in our Scrabble game, but we have created a tough board!
Mwahhh, Haz = my bestest best friend
Poor Takuma. I don't know, you get some women together.....
hey judi
***sits back eating what's left of Grammy's yummy stuffing, with lots of gravy. A new breakfast food....***
Weeelll, actually I would rather not say! * hands George a hot chocolate*
Takuma--we are nuts, don't you already know that? Too much staring at grids.
Oh Scrabs...I have been encountering that a lot lately. I have two boards with no vowels and one with no vowels AND three big pointers!
Hiya, TO! ;)
All the letters and numbers make for loopy ladies.
Imagine the reaction to all the non speaking lurkers.... Oh heck, here they go again they will be thinking!
I had oatmeal a few days ago, Judi, and my GI tract rebelled later in the day.
We could be rich if we sold this to Hollywood...
Hmm, good point, I should have known better
Yes, FMitch, more reasons to stay lurking.
Uh oh, Scrabbler. Sorry to hear that. Usually, it has no effect on me.
Especially when the writers in Holywood are on strike.
True Scrabbler.
OK, Uni---I took my turn and set you up for a triple word play. I am good at that.
maybe they are all here lurking for good scripts when they go back
I don't know. I lurk a lot because we DON'T have conversations like this.
***too bad there's no de 6's in this grid***
Ha, Haz has hit the nail on the head as usual and I concur.
We gave the writers plenty of script ideas today!
I lurk a lot because I can't do both at the same time !!!
Afternoon all :-)
There is a di6/24 but I'm hesitant about giving a clue. Should I give a clue? Should I not give a clue?
hi katie!
oh, don't worry -- no one's copying this down for a script. Keep going, just slow down a little bit please
Give, Haz!
And I believe that the writers have discovered many fine women for the many roles in the movie.
oh do Haz...please do !
Good afternoon Katie - how is the to5/12.
hi karys
She did I believe Annie in her question :)
Sure Haz, but keep it simple please.
nice clue, Haz, thanks. :)
hi TO !
That was the clue! I was hesitating..... and was illustrating di6/24.
Yes, FM, I see it now. Haz is diabolical.
corr
sorry!
Hm, but I don't get it yet.
***I don't get it***
But will it work later on?
of course !....how silly of me !
Good, Lori and I are both clueless despite being clued.
di, reach a female possessive by means of a beverage letter.
Q: What do you call an insulting rapper with a lisp? A: A di6
TY, Takuma--great clue!
lol Takuma
very good clue takuma
I like it, Takuma!
great clues, you two!
thanks, glad to contribute (helpfully) for once ;)
***I still don't get it***
Lori is role playing.
Lori, don't work yourself into a di6 over it... hi everyone
Sadly I must get ready for work. I am in the office from 11-8, but the best news is that Boss Richard Head has taken the day off!
I must away as the blame'o'meter has settled down (till next time). Lovely to see you all and heres to much happy babbling in this new year.
poor lori she will be all in a di6 soon
take care FM
Hi Aloy---I hate to leave this entertaining chat, but I must go. WAAAHHH
bye Mitch...hope all is well
Sorry to see you go, FMitch, but glad you left the love god alone long enough to say hello!
Aww....
Bye Scrabs and FM!! Watc out for icicles
ciao FM
Bye FM, enjoy the day
and scrabbler!
Later FMitch, Scrabbler. Don't go! :(
bye FM and happy 2008 to you
bye Scrabbs
ah, have a good one today, Scrabbler.. see you next time!
bye scrabbler, stay warm
Was that a backward female deer and Camelot King?
and hello Aloy
Lori is method acting for the role of dumb blonde in the babble soap opera. She thinks she has a better chance of snaring George.....
bye, FM.. (-:
bye bye scarbbs have a good day and try to stay warm
bye scrabbler
hi aloy!
She doesn't even like George, she's just selfish!
at 9:30 am, i had 161 words. At 10:01, still 161 words. Chat is soooo distracting
Camelot King? That was Hamlet, wasn't it?
hello, Karys with the smiley cat!
Uh oh. Haz is on to me. An alternative Georhe technique is in order!
bye mitch bye scrabs hi aloy
It nearly rhymes. Maybe that's why Shakespeare set Hamlet in Camelot. Venice had flooded.
hi Aloy! I read it is quite cold in Florida today.
Hello all
hi peri!
hello Peri
heya peri
hi peri
Hello peri!
it is pretty cold here (in FL)
hey there, TO.. and peri ! Now, where is that Scarlet hiding?
G'd morning peri
hello peri
phone, bbl
my (inaccurate) car thermometer reported that it was 26F this morning
it is VERY cold here !!
Red won't come out to play...Annie ransacked her house and still she hides
Annie has her (Scarlet) under observation. That webcam was a great investment.
Scarlet's so dilligent. We must break her of that!
i heard that they are worried about the citrus crop Taku
She and her split pea soup...
I have a cr 9/66 - can anyone clue me for the other 9, please?
19 here, with wind chill of 4
may I please have clues for the 9's
i want "cosmo".. sigh
there is snow here in Mass
She's probably helping wiccans to save all the Christmas trees that people are going to dump. Remember the magnolia fiasco/
lol, i certainly do, haz..
32 to go. no lists, no clues
creosote
cr 8 --- opposite of debtor; plural
oops
peri !!!!
peri - build upon the cr6/24 for cr9/66, a plural
Ha! Good clue, Peri!
Peri is so abrupt in her cluing!
Go Angel go! G'd morning BR
And then put a past tense on the cr8 - on your way to the penalty box.
wtg, Angel!
so direct!
holy moly -- peri is a machine
That was too cryptic for me.
(and thanks - great clue!)
lol, Lori!
Maybe you could get her to spell it out more clearly, Lori.
HowDy, Lori .... ya think the link will dilute the duct tape?
Q: Where your payment options? A: cr8 cash
I don't want to go to the penalty box :(
maybe g
george will be there?:
Resistance is futile peri. PB with champagne is the minimum sentence.
there are no snacks in the penalty box
Brave of you to show your face after that one, Peri. *passes penalty box water bottle*
phantom: steroid
Phantom: gobemouche
hi everyone!!
G'd morning army.
hi there, BR... and hello to army
hello, peoples ... may we all excel in the craft of life today
amen to that, BR
Rather than the crap of life...
crepe of life, in the PB
good morning amy and BR
I'm wearing my floater suit in the raft of life, just to hedge my bets.

For instance: Uni was babbling whilst undressed

bye bye Annie enjoy the movie
Take care Annie, catch ya' later
i hafta get my breakfast before i can break out in silliness. ;)
What should you do if windows crashes cost you a lot of money?
Uni lil pink used the potty for the first time last night, i was soooooooooooo proud of her!
heh, it can take a lot of energy
Enjoy the movies, Annie (whispers behind hand about not being able to see much of Scarlet from a darkened movie theatre)
Annie, enjoy the movie! I'll have to ask your opinion as I have yet to see it....
You should bill Gates.
Maybe Red is the friend?
Good for her pink. She'll do it in her own time.
ew, BR
lol
Oh, Pink that's fantastic!!! Did you make it into a big exciting thing? I love that part!!
later, annie
LOLOL BR
one of my favorite authors is in the grid: James He/621, "All Creatures Great and Small"
James has a double consonant, though.
i certainly did, i hugged and kissed her. I didnt reward her with sweets or anything like that as it was gone 1am, i reckon if i leave her without a nappy she'll just go to the potty....but i thought i would share that info with you all!!!
No, that's exactly right! Hugs and kisses and pride. She will get after a few months that it makes her a big special girl, then you can slowly weed out the big celebration part.
Isn't she only, like 2 pink? She'll learn when she's ready. Lots of time.
I was old! Barely got on to it now...:)
With boys, you can get 'em to aim for floating cheerios. Sooooo cool. LOLOL
That's what I said...although, since I learned from you, it's not surprising
In my experience, toilet training takes less time the longer you leave off starting.
yes she was 2, 2 weeks ago!
Uni was a challenge. The second I stopped aggrivating her to train, she trained. She's still stubborn.
Forgot the "heh" and the :-)
So what's this grid business anyways? I haven't gotten a word in like, an hour......
don't sweat it, Lori -- just shrink your window until you don't seen the distracting yellow thing to the left of chat
Thanks for the h Angel! I didn't have that. Now, 163 words....LOL
Do you really need the heh? I think we all know my spirits are strong by now...And I don't mean liquor!
that question is quite philosphical .... can't you ask something concrete like ... with link dilute the duct tape?
LOLOL Takuma. I almost choked on my coffee.
Oh Taku, what sage advice
oh no! I don't want to be responsible for wasted coffee
oops, and 'see' not 'seen in the advice
very thymely advice
someone pls help!!!
With what armygrl?
boo, BR
are you ok?
Should we call 911? Someone on the internet is in trouble...:D
top corner I, just cant figure it out!!
The 'N'?

bbs
good morning. grannyg - are you here?
ride
oops
back just in time to catch peri... again!
peri, you're being a real rebel today.
are the bablets the little words that are compacted into the tiny squares?
oooh peri..esp, i was just typing in that word.
No, babblets are unusual words that appear often in babble, but are unlikely to be seen or used in real life.
babblets are strange little words that have a tendency to occur frequently in grids, army
nah -- 'babblet' is just a slang(ish) term for words hat are relatively rare in natural language, but occur often in grids
clues please
close enough!!!
i will brb!!!
could I have clues for the oo words please :-)
hints for the E in the bottom row?
used some dye to color my r****
Katie - oo6/27 - add a fluid filled sac
eva: even more spooky
wait -- that's not right
ignore me
er5 - made a mistake
thanks haz. :)
*ignoring takuma*
oo5/12 - oo plus three quarters of the sea movement affected by the moon.
thanks haz
Takuma illustrated it beautifully, though. I think it was intentional.
oo4/4 - anagram of the black chimney stuff.
oo5/10 - mirroring the structure of the ghostly ee5/10
Thanks haz thats them all :-)
lol, cystern sounds good, but alas
hey katie!!!

ty.. just have to take it day by day.. so far, so good.. (-:
thanks on yesterdays video scarlet.... today's i dont think was mine, at least i don't remember it LOL
Let's keep it going, then... it must be so demanding...

congrats nono
I did, Aloy!! Straightaway! :-)
yay.. (-:
ok peeps - taking a break. see you later!

You must like to exercise, Aloy... LOL ;-)
Oh, pink... there will be fits and starts, but the more she does it, the more confident she will become... and then she'll realize that her dainty bottom does not like to be damp... Yahoo for little pinkie!
God for a minute I thought I had missed loads of meetings. nearly had a fit!!
lol Scarlet, and thank you *hug*
{{{Hugs back to pink}}}
Methinks that Aloy is rearranging her garbage and recycyling again... LOL
did Lori P and Uni sneak out the back door?
Katie, what do you mean? Did you have a day mix-up too? LOL
i guess they did
Maybe they are planning an invasion of the Southern States to pound my head for inappropriately appointing Uni as the new Babble Whipping Girl... LOL
LOL

good morning all
Good day, P2H
hey p2h
Hi, armygrl!!
hi P2H
Our weather is freezing cold, peri... bitterly, nasty, windy and challenging... we moved from the snow belt to get away from this... The good thing is that by Saturday, we'll be back in the high 40s or low 50s... Ah, the south!
grumble, grumble.. back with the garbage and recycling.. oh well, at least I didn't miss my alma mater's game tonight.. arrgh, this holiday madness has me all weirded out.. time to relax with some babble buddies
it is 12 degrees and snowy here today
it is in the single digits here, my friends pug will not pee in the snow :-)
Sure, sure, Aloy... whatever you say... I am just getting older and get snarky at the drop of a memory quark... LOL
Lol, Scarlet.. hadda blame it on sumthing!
Yeah, but ya was really reachin' there, friend! ;-)
btw, ty for the flotsam clue.. (-:
You're welcome!
oh yes ty i was distracted and have just returned.
There she is!!
YAY ! A biggie!
I was distracted by last night's chat log. It WAS entertaining.
i thought it was spelt with an a.
hi, hurshy!
It's Babble... Good morning, Chief! Happy New Year to you and yours in Ireland!
what was entertaining? what happened? what did i miss?
Hello all! hurshy, I was much entertained by the antics of one who claimed not to be a troll, bothering one who had intentions of sponsoring her.
Happy New Year,Scarlet - are you well?
oh, i did not miss that
herin is too trusting
No, you were right in the middle of it. I laughed out loud at parts. Like I say, it was entertaining.
:)
And it was nice to see Douglas back again, I had wondered where he was.
Yes, I am, Haz, thank you. And you and Dr. Haz?
i'm lost without jeton
We're both well, Scarlet, though the temperature has dropped radically over the past couple of days. But not even thinking or tallking about white stuff.
hurshy, don't overlook the aviation fuel
it's very coooooold
Good nearly afternoon babble...have shenanigins ceased yet?
never, Uni
oooh did i miss shenanagins?
oil? no L... hmmm
morning unu
uni that is
How can I possibly still have 120 left?!
Hello again Uniquity. It had got a bit civilised without you.
Likewise here, too, Haz. Oh, good morning, Uni!! :-)
ja4.9 and its plural
shenanigans?
I shall try to remain upright and proper dear Haz! The potential sponsoree from last night was here again this morning as well
So I saw. I was so tickled by the whole episode.
Ever the staunch one, Uni!
time for the list.. stumped with 58 to go
ooh thanks alo, that only leaves one more j
Vicuna - hello!
Oh...I believe I see her again in recent chat
Hello, Haz! Hello, everyone!
Vicuna!! Happy New Year!
je + get *** of old junk?
Hey Vic!
And to you, Scarlet!
i've decided i'm going to continue being mean as i wish. except of course...
:-)
bingo alo!!!
hi, Vicuna!
Hey Vic
yes, my resolution is to get *** of old stuff ..
is everyone vi-ing for your attention? hahahaha
but i will keep my hubby, lol
We'll have to start using capital letters and being attention maggots - was that the term coined last night?
lol, hurshy.
how cold is it hurshy?
Has anyone seen Montreal lately? I miss dear Lucien... what a gem of a fellow
cold enough to freeze your winnebago
Luc was on yesterday Red
Atterntion maggots... I like that.
yes attention maggots! :)
He'll be shovelling, Scarlet, but he was on yesterday.
LOL, Aloy... mine is worth keeping too! Thank you, Uni!
Attention, even.
i want "torrid"
don't have a winnie-thingie, so i guess im safe!
Of course, Haz. Shovelling is what he does...
shovelling, yes. Canada keeps getting snowed up
We all want torrid, hurshy, so much nicer than horrid.
As long as Haz has George around, she's got all the torrid she needs.
holy cow.. pic on the TV just now of a fountain in s. Ft. Myers.. frozen!
I wanted jeremiad...
But Haz has not got George...
You know me so well.
Florida?
thought he was a bullfrog..
Hahahahaaa
yup, Ft. Myers Fla.
Where is Creedence when I need them?
I want about 259 more words, and i don't much care which ones they are!
i had insomnia so i found 200 in the night.
*hands nicely wrapped 259 to Vicuna!
So did I, hursh.
my I's are done, at least
what do the 9's start with?
i have done 2/11 of my remaining words since logging on here at work.
You never spoke while getting the 200 words in the night.
Insomnia bad, finding 200 words good.
Scarlet may I please have 192 words that is what I have left
cr, harp
harpjane, both begin with cr.
that is true, i didn't. i didn't have my glasses on so i could see the tiles but not the tiny print.
*In the interest of fairness, hands 192 to peri*
thanks
I want there to be more words in the grid....can you do that?
thanks ever so much Scarlet
You're welcome, peri! :-) Uni, please take the leftovers from Vicuna and peri...
are they related to each other because i got one cr8/9 combo...
I can see this is going to get out of hand, Scarlet. Soon they'll be queuing up to get words handed out on a plate. No suffering, no demanding clues for de6/24.
They are completely unrelated, hurshy.
ok.
Chief, I am delighted to see that the New Year has not eroded, nor softened, your tough approach to the Rule!
Hmm... Would it make you feel better, Haz, to know that I am wearing a hairshirt and sitting on a chair of nails to type in these words?
Oh absolutely not. I stick to my guns although it does drive some people nuts.
Or Di6...suffereing is imperative
finally, fireworks!!
ooh, monkies just found the robotic wen, cy7.44... that was fun
You took my office decor, Vi! *pout*
Congratulations Pink!
yay, pinkhat!!!!
Hairshirt, nails, listening to country and western music - you have to suffer for this.
Well done, pin!
*pink*
I left you the manacles.
Congratulations pinkhat.
ty alo
Thank you.
NOOOOOO, not the country music, please! No amount of words is worth that!
I can always use manacles.
You also have to put up with trolls...non trolls...Canadians...Brits...Americans ...
glad you saw it.. (-:
congrats pink
Aha - (cranking up the volume of the Country and Western station on the radio)
im going to do my chores, i'll be back later on, happy babbling everyone!!
yay for pink
bye, pinkhat..
Bye pink.
Hey! That's my icon! :)
Country music? Arrrrrgggggggggfhhhhhh... that does it... I'd rather have steaming needles in my ear...
aha got the other combo. figures i'd find the harder one first.
Okay, I confess! I'm a witch!
steaming needles? why not just ask for one o' them ceti eels?
Hank Williams not a hero? Johnny Cash not the first person you turn to in tough times?
Whatever... pile it on... My molars are aching from the volume, Haz... pleeeeaaaasssseeee stop!
Cranking up the volume - let's get cheerful with country.
Will Willie Nelson help Scarlet?
*Falling into a deep depression* It is an oxymoron that one is "cheerful" with the twang of a steel guitar and a zither doing back-up.
*with her last remaining energy, summons a burst of desperate strength and fight fire with fire... starts yodelling*
country road, take me home, to a place I belooong, west virginia, mountain mama, country road, take me hooooooooome
Willie I love!
and lyrics about cheating spouses and dead dogs and who knows what else
roflmao
Oh, good lord... Vicuna, I just may do the Finnish thing next, just to stop the agony...
soo close to having derriere
'You chose a fine time to leave me, Lucille, four hundred children and a crop in the fields'
let me help Vicuna, ..bursts forth with Klingon opera solo
Or, the greatest title of all time: "I flushed you down the toilet of my heart"
oh NO, not klingon opera!
Pabtrek saved my life just now...
grandma got run over by a reindeer,
"That's why I'm with your sister now, Lucille. And she's got pertier teeth..."
If your husband liked country, would that be grounds for D I V O R C E?
stumbling home from the bar on
Stand By Your Man
"you done stomped on my heart...."
Christmas Eve
The question is why on earth you'd have married him int he first place?
Live Like You're Gonna Die
"sweetheart you just sorta....ripped out my aorta..."
He looked like George Clooney?
He was George Clooney?
No, he just looked like him.
*There's a tear in my beer, cause I'm crying over you, dear..."
oh my what conversation to read lol, grew up with country playing in our house
George Clooney couldn't like country. He just couldn't.
Haz, Haz, when are you going to learn? Looks alone cannot compensate for bad taste in music?
OH, noooooooooooo, not THAT one, Vi
country, heavy metal, motown and rock.
And did the therapy work, garyand julie?
Hi, g&j.... diff'rent stokes...
a better question, how would you even MEET someone who doesn't listen to classical and jazz?
I like motown, at least, garyandjulie!
therapy? I knew I went wrong somewhere ;o)
Or at least some motown...
I grew up liking most music, had no choice or go mad in our house
i have cr9, the o5 9 plz
the blues? anyone? blues? rock?
They're both cr9, movieman.
BBKing rules
Of course he does. He's a king.
One refers to those you pay, the other refers to smelly tarry stuff.
BB is the MAN... and Muddy Waters
Hi movie man! I have a quote for you!
i have the oily substance, haz
"call in the amphibious squadron...."
Rock rocks, Uni... I am a Pink Floyd forever fan
help with E on bottom row please
go on harp
then you need scrooooooooge and pl
made a mistake peri
Then you look for an extension of cr6/24 - the visa, mastercard thing
peri - er5 - made a mistake
Aww, I can't talk to you anymore Red. Pink Floyd is one of the very few bands I really really don't like!
ty hurshy and Haz
You're welcome.
How about Nina Simone, Thelonious Monk and Ramsey Lewis?
sky captain, harp?
I like 90s music too...that drives most people nutty
You don't have to talk to her, Uni. Just sing her some more ocuntry!
*Weeping loudly* Uni, we can work this out...
stan Getz
* country. See, I can't even spell it without twitching.
Vi... thanks? Some friend YOU are...
Yes, Stan the Man!
got the 9 ty all
Right now, he's probably buying her some fruity little drink cuz she can't shoot whiskey....
Hee hee!
I can shoot whiskey... at twenty paces behind my back, just like Annie Oakley. But I'd never DRINK the stuff!
snowed in Daytona Beach this morning
**reconciles with Scarlet as the pain is unbearable**. I'm sorry Red!!
is the cr6/24 a common word?
**snuffling and tissue cramming*** Okay, Uni. Pax?
'Do not forsake me, oh my darling' - I hear the song swelling at the reconciliation of Uniquity and Scarlet.
definitely, harp
Cue the violins.
give me cr6.24 for telling you it IS a common word
I imagine it more as running through a field of daisies in slow motion...
I think I'll go stick my head in the oven... Oh, wait... it's electric...
And harpjane should certainly be playing on this one.
With Pink Floyd blaring in the background... Cue Dogs of War
LOL, it isn't Friday, Scarlet..
You could still bake your head, Scarlet. (Am I being a good friend again?)
Blues Brothers - 'Turn on your love light', more like it!
harp, was the quote from sky captain?
thinking....
yup!
thought so!!!!!!
LOL, Aloy and Vi, you are such a dear, one-of-a-kind person... *snarl*\
got it, finally
mm, how about "forta magnus clearance from Malnex"?
Does anyone here like the late Maynard Ferguson? I saw him in concert about 10 times, and loved the guy...
my hand is in the air, Scarlet.. he was awesome
okay. I did 112 wihout using the clues. I am going to breakdown and use them now. ha ha
Yea Aloy! I just knew that you would be one! *dancing the samba and gliding to Rocky now*
good for you johnny, i went to the dark side of the list after about 60!
106 here...then I cracked
johnny is having a breakdown? *911*
well let me say.. I am at a COMPLETE stand still. ha ha
Too late, Uni...
203 here, I'm about to crack
the cow mo5.14 when it was time to be milked..
Cracking is good. Baking your head is NOT.
funny looking word
Could all the country music talk have been enough to push babblers over the edge?
Scarlet, between us we have a souffle!
sniffing in electric ovens on F
Friday when it isn't Friday...
But, Haz darlin', your lovin' arms are wide open in the pick-up truck...
Airport (1970), Harp
we are alright, just a bit babble brained
You guys are trying to break my spirit!!
You'll not find me in any pick-up truck.
Impossible! You are cracked... that is a hopeful sign of independence, Uni-clue!
Weren't we already cracked?
i used a pick up truck to retrieve the garbage and recycling this morning.. what do you have against pickup trucks, Haz?
Independance? Is that when you dance with a pen?
But, I thought your were advancing the Country Music agenda, Chief!
Pending further examination, Uni... :-o
I'm so short, it would be a major achievement to get into a pick up truck.
ah so, well, they can come with step ups..
So FMitch claims to be 6 feet and Haz is short...yet the tall one takes the blame and the short one is police chief! Over compensation?
And my country music agenda is that IF you hand out words on a plate, THEN those in receipt should have to listen to country music, sit on nails and wear hairshirts whilst entering them.
I have it covered, Chief!
FMitch is 6 foot, I am 5 foot 1 and a bit. We'd make a good comedy team.
ok, now i feel dumb... what is a hairshirt?
Greatness knows no limitations, Uni...
You already are a good comedy team.
Almost like me and my beloved...he is 5 foot, i am 5 foot 10.
A hair shirt is made out of hair. But itchy, scratchy stuff. Horse hair, perhaps?
Tisn't an issue...
Hi everyone! I'm having a hard time with the G's. I have the direction given to a horse
ack, that would be persecution to the max!
You MUST suffer in a hairshirt, Aloy
One wears it to do penance... if one feels that the ridiculous chat is insufficient punishment for one's sins.
ge + robotic ending
ty aloy
Or, any of the newfangled, itchy threads which hold the neck tag on a blouse... daggone things drive me batty.
ty all.. have learned another gem from my babble buddies!
i chop them all off, Scarlet
Yes, the modern hairshirt would have tags all over.
Paco sweatshirts seemed to specialise in using barbed wire thread to stitch on their labels.
I cut them too, but the wretched things are double-looped into the seam...
glad you found it, deb
what's a robotic ending?
Seam rippers all the way on tags
like android?
I use the seam-rippers, Uni, but the critters are simply determined to cut into my skin, no matter what... my chalk-white skin...
lily white sounds better, scarlet
Which becomes "scarlet" in a heartbeat! No, I am chalky, Aloy... I yam what I yam...
thanks, looks like the chat hasn't got any saner whilst I've been away!!
Undernourished strawberry white?
sending scarlet some melanin
Yogurt... vanilla, with a helping of cauliflower and bread
Hi, witchy...are you looking for some kind of miracle?
never here lol
Good... I was almost worried for a millisecond there... LOL
hah.. finally found the sac for the testicles..
I am so happy for you, Aloy.
There's something you don't expect Aloy to announce in chat.
LOLOL Didn't know it was sex-ed class this morning. Where was my memo?
thank god for that aloy else there'd be balls everywhere
well, i had a feeling it was in the grid..
{{Lori}} Try any new recipes lately?
Sometimes we choose to keep you ill informed in order to maintain performance standards
I didn't get the memo either
And being pedantic, she's found more than one.
just didn't see it.. (-:
That mad my whole day. Talk about timing, that was the first thing I saw in chat. LOLOLOL
You missed nothing, Aloy. Apart from the points, of course.
Timing is essential for every good ballerina
Scarlet!!! ***hugs***
Oh man. I'm still laughing. ***has the overtired giggles, methinks***
Timing is important for ballerinas, comics... and those who wish to explore sacs for testicles.
well, it is a biological term...
sc****, if you will...
Hi everyone (now you can't call me "lurking Esprit" LoriP
and i am a biologist.. so..
My lurkometer was redlining Esprit. I just knew that Aloy's comment would draw you out..... :)
hmmmmmmm those who wish to explore sacs for testicles . . . .
it surely did
hi, Esprit... nice to see you
Is membership required for that?
Is it a career option?
more like Vicuna's comment
Like, how does that work really, is what I'm asking...
I think it's more of a hobby than a career, Haz.
Might involve a scalpel, unfortunately
must be the old "turn your head to one side and cough" test
Yikes, Uni! Now you're scaring me!
Got the movie "hard candy" in ym head ever since you said exploring sacs for testicles...ugh
I remain steadfast: Bake your head when all else fails...
i hereby retract my comment, lol
***worries about undiscovered childhood psychological damage with Uni***
is there an erase mode?
bound to come out sooner or later Lori
But people tell me to stay away from fire...and hot...
Oprah will get it out of me for a hefty sum
Nope. I do believe your are now the chief testicular consultant Aloy.
Too late, Lori... she is your Doppelganger...
Better that than the LoriP doppleganger!
Aloy, you cannot win this one. *Joins Aloy to maintain dignity*
She has yet to blossom to my full inane depths. A mere babe in arms....
oh wow.. i am so honored!
I could contribute some testicular lore, I work in a fertility practice :-)
But the POTENTIAL is there, Lor.
great balls of fire!
TMI!!!
LOL...Aloy. When I grow up, can I be you?
We will defer all future testicular questions to Aloy. We have yet to plumb the depths of that resource methinks.... :-)
and this just MAY be the perfect time to review . . . who remembers the generic brand of Viagra?
missing two 8s.....i have cr8x2, rh8, and sm8x2....
MUM! That was...I caught that.
There are three sm8 in the series.
I just went through my existing words, and added -ed, -er, and -ier to everything, got 25 more words!
giddy up?
Must go make lunch for my beloved... behave yourselves ladies. Chief Haz is on duty, and I can see her swinging that cattle prod as I speak...
no aloy
heh heh heh I didn't realize you were here #1. :-)
And you think Scarlet is joking.
i give up
I jest not.
esprit, no idea.
generic Viagra is Mycoxafloppin
Happy dining. I know Haz wirlds a mean cattle prod, so I'll try to behave.
Enjoy your lunch, Red. Beware the depth plumbers!
lol esprit
I NEVER get tired of that one!
LOLOL ***there goes our family rating***
and i am floppin on the floor.. LOL
he8/45 - plural variation of he4 - the recipients of a legacy?
Oh dear Esprit...
Sometimes the oldies are the best esprit.
bye, Scarlet..
I am never gonna finish this grid with you lot around
good morning all
I'll need something like a cattle prod to get this computer to behave - trying to print things and it's telling me it needs a printer. There's one there! And it's connected. Henry Kissinger might be needed to get the two of them talking to each other. Back later, hopefully!
You could focus on declaring a major, instead Uni.
i'm missing an re6/21 and re 7/36 that follows - can anyone clue me?
ty haz
Good luck, Haz. I recommend playing them both some nice soothing country music.
G'd morning Flosey. Haz, don't let Bill Gates win, I know you will prevail! Later. :-)
You could focus on not adding stress, Lori....
did you babblers know that this is the first US presidential election since 1928 that an incumbent president or vice president haven’t been in the race....thats so interesting to me!!
hope so, Haz.. who will maintain order now?
It's a free for all now.......
You have to be at least 46 to have voted in an election that didn't have a bush or clinton running.
I think Obama should pick Oprah for his running mate
re + to give someone their old job back?
**Steals Haz's cattle prod and uses it as a fire baton**
Where's FMItch when you need her? Hope she's not still wrestling with the god of love....
Hey! I thought you were in diplomatic negotiations? :-)
Back later.
if so, we won't see her for a while, lol
***That girl and her fire obsession concerns me greatly***
Good!~
down to 83... best get some work done... back later, folks!
Whatever happens while Haz is away will be all FMitch's fault anyways.
Good job Lady. See you in a bit.
sounds like a good conclusion, Lori
Enough for now. Back later, folks.
could I have a clue for the co 7s please
Later Vic. Take care.
thanks Lori, got them now! :)
***wonders what this "work" is that Lady mentioned. Drawing a blank***
That was it ylleria? Cool.
work is just another 4 letter word
and not even my favorite one
Ooh, over halfway! What a happy accident...
co + one of the 50 in the US
Go uni go!
thanks Aloy :-)
another co7: little bed + one of the great lakes
If I keep sitting here, will the cookies magically bake themselves unaided?
Just got that one all by myself, but thanks for the clue. Just missing the other one now :-)
also the co 7 plural, to **** a book or paper together, share credit
no Lori, everyone knows Keebler Elves do it!
Depends. What kind? If a good kind, they should make two sets of themselves...and send one with SD to me.
LoriP, you'll find them bake themselves in any good supermarket
LOL esprit, katie. Uni, I;ll send some stuff if you want. Just mail a request form. Stew?
the other one... co + what a bigwig does at a newspaper office
embessle?
embezzle
even
Stew would be nice. and fancy, delicious gingerbread mans covered in the red sugar stuff.
anyone see the Kite Runner btw?
I always thought there was something suspicious about those Keebler elves. Can't quite put my finger on it though.
Can do Uni. Chocolate chip muffins?
Lori - there are no lady elves, that's what it is!
No esprit, I haven't seen it. That's it! How do they reproduce, by magic?
Thank you so much Aloy :-)
Yes please! And apple pie...and cheesecake. and the good bread!
one has to wonder, doesn't one . . .
yay, Katie.. glad you got it
could we please not talk about elf sex!!
I need things to put in my cookie jar
what's the problem Katie?
Holy cow woman! This ain't M&M's food shop.
Better than Aloy's surprise turn toward testicular sacs...
If you could bake me about ten cakes, that's be great too
We've only just had them helping Santa it doesn't seem fitting :-)
think about how small elf testicular sacs would be
now, now... simply a proper anatomical name
well, everyone knows why Santa Claus doesn't have children
He likes the elves?
Lol esprit, you do seem to be putting a lot of thought into this :-)
(waiting for the punchline)
because he only c***s once a year and then it's down a chimney
Santa likes Mrs Santa, lets make that clear here and now!!!!
AH! Esprit! My young eyes!
you're old enough for that one Uni
I have heard that when you reach a certain point of obesity, it all stops working. I thought THAT was it!
Just you remember he has a long memory Esprit and there will be no pressies next year for being a very bad girl
not true Uni, but obesity doesn't help
it's ok Katie, I like the spankings better :-)
:O
The PG rating is totally gone now!!
I think we're all adults in here now
I think we usally are
are we talking age ormentality? ;)
Speak for yourselves! I won't tolerate name calling.... :)
hope Santa never had a col + os6.27
Aloy is frisky today. My, my, my. :-)
colostomy Aloy?
ooh, you are almost in the penalty box, Esprit!!!
PB is that way------>
uh oh, and I just saw why
yup, it was a cluuuuuuuuue
& I got the word from your clue so thank you Aloy :-)
*checking my medication* I'll try to settle down
speaking of all this sex-talk, by this time tomorrow, ill have a brand new niece!! :D
***snickers @ esprit, yet jealous of free champagne and chocolate***
how nice Eva! What's her name going to be?
ooh, that is wonderful, Eva.. how exciting!
Oooh, yay EvaN!!
Really Eva? All the best to Mom and the process. Happy almost birthday little one!
Keep up the snickering Lori and I will put NS on my list of places to visit in 2008
i dont think theyve decided... Vibiana and Laida have been tossed out there -- my sis-in-law is bad with choosing the name until they threaten not to let her take the baby home...heh
those are unusual
Could I have a clue for the first dr 6 please
hes, i believe they are Basque, since thats my sis-in-laws heritage (both my nephews have Basque middle names)
dr + 3rd vowel + 2nd vowel + hi** as a kite
tuffy to clue, katie: dr + pumpking p**+ **ost busters
I haven't had a Basque in years, but I do like showers though. :-)
lmao
or better yet, taking a shower with a Basque
fantastic clue :-)
***fades away to kitchen , due to a shortage of Keeblers***
Better go and start dinner, it's time we went back to normal meals after the festive season. Thanks for the clues Aloy, see you all later
bye, katie.. see you next time..
and, bye babblers.. must go now.. behave yourselves! (LOL)..
*twiddling thumbs and looking innocent*

that's right!
She may have something there-forget those cartoons!
LOL uni
I think someone should create a cartoon series about testicular sacs
sounds like I really missed something there
i've got 40/46 S words, how exciting!
Oh Praise, it's been quite the day
it all started with a clue to the SC6/21 Praise

i think there were tangleword players on here yesterday...
we're looking for a new home . . . and a new addiction! LOL!
gh i found this site by accident not too long ago myself
well i've found 100 of 'em -- only 199 left to go
geez not an easy game is it?
A lot of us joined when we saw a write-up in the Daily Mail. But warnings ghqueen - you could become an addict!!
uh oh just what I need! LOL
does cy 4/7 get added onto for the bigger word?
There was a write-up about babble in the newspaper?
i have only found 72 words so far
yup -- add something to the beginning
I wouldn't call it a newspaper
but its supposed to be a cy word?
starting with?
there is a CY4. there is also another word that has the CY4 in it, but it has 2 letters before the CY4
tier
squerty - you must be a BRit!!! the cy7 doed go with the cy4
i only have 1 cy word
cy4? what does that mean? cy7?
Am indeed, I haven't looked in for about a year though
Hello everyone!
and now I've got to go home
hi dug
ghqueen it means you are looking for a wordof 4 letters beginning with cy
MLFAN -- its not another CY word -- there are 2 letters BEFORE the CY word, making a 6-letter word
oh i c ty!
I had a cy4 removed when I was 12...
I had a cy4 removed when I was 12...
I had a cy4 removed when I was 12...
I had a cy4 removed when I was 12...

my neck that is
got the cy 7/44 or at leat that one i got lol
i have 2 words that build off of the CY4. there is a CY7 (put an ending on the CY4) and there is a 6-letter word (not a CY word) that has 2 letters in front of the CY4
co7 er start childs bed - add letters for the Queen- then letters 'for example'
Are these rh impossile or am I being thick?
eva what is the clue for the 6 letter please?
Thanks Dee
if ur thick i'm thick
uhh, put 2 letters before your CY4... that only leaves you 2 letters to find!
RH6-7 combo = orators, speakers
rh - I have two - the second the plural rh- the little alien- then 'either **'
Thank you Eva and Deeha
u understood that? ok I'M the thick one!!
yw uni
I've been tricked by these rh before, the lesson is starting to stick, gh!
i guess i have a lot to learn
i got the rh 6 and 7
In philosophy, there is a lot of rh****ic. Take the first six letters for the 6, then pluralize for the 7
Thanks for the clues, I have finished!!!

Hi, all. Beloved fed, 70 chocolate chunk/walnut cookies made and baked... *Here's a nice tray to share.... no elbows and no body checking!*

Oh, nan finished? Way to go, nan!! :-)
OOoohhh....I call the cookies!
yeah well I plan on it
But, sweetie, you MUST share...
congrats nan :-)
just want to get it done and over with
But I don't want to. Although, Lori is sending a batch of legitimate backed goods to me so I guess I can share these ones
I'll see your 72 chocolate chunk cookies, and raise you 48 chocolate chip (well, now 30), AND 1 pan of brownies AND the very difficult and time consuming, Rice Krispie Squares.......
love your icon scarlet
Where did peri disappear? She loves cookies... P2H, katie, Niamh... cookie?

Absolutely, Praise. Get it while it's little
i'm back and need help with the third G. I have ge4,7 and ge5,16.

That would be great, i love cookies :-)
Lori...how can that be all you've made? None of the things I reuqested are in that list!! **disconcerted**
I'm taking my cookie on the road... be back after a bit!
I am here, full of pizza at the moment
gh
gh+ two vowels
gh 4/7 -- what you say to a horse?
gh + double vowel ?
Lori wins the ante-pot... you know, those Krispie treats are big favorites... I made them with the chocolate krispies, too!
Perhaps she thought I was joking...
You really have to love Rice Krispie Squares, for filler. These kids eat like Vikings!
Uni, I'm sure she's stirring that requested pot of stew... LOL
***You mean you weren't joking?***
thank you
lots of clue givers, so I will be on my way -- back at the flip :) bye all
AHEM... I am the resident Viking, and I know how they eat!!
Later, nan!
Later cyber!
Bye Nan!
Uni's seen them. Ask her. Sometimes I fear for my life...
She offered the stew...I requested...I don't even remember anymore
Lori, do you ever use Cocoa Krispies for the Treats?
I made three batches of gingerbread men this christmas...half were eaten before cooled
deb have you a clue for that g5 please

Anything toffee is too good for words. Atalante spread an amazing recipe for Banofee Pie (SP?) and I have yet to try it, but it sounds deathly wonderful!

Electric Dreams....
*Flinging tiny guppies to P2H*
Scarlet have never tried that either, but it sounds wonderful
saw Paula Deen make it on one of her shows
Sounds wicked good Scarlet, will have to get a copy
I went to the 'net, Lori, and found several types of recipes for it... Paula Deen rocks! She uses tons of butter in everything.. my kind of woman!
Butter is my friend. I embrace the butter.
So, Lori, my comrade in arms re: the glorious world of the NFL... can the beautiful boys from Massachusetts go all the way?
LOL Scarlet-0-I am a Paula Deen fan too
Butter is holy.
butter cookies, mmm
Butter ice cream, butter bread, butter water, butter... ah, you get the drift...
Okay, had a brief Brady fantasy when you said all the way, but I'm back now. Yes! Yes! Yes! Billichek has them focused, they're a machine.

Lori! Focus!! LOL... I think they are the greatest team I have ever seen... and I have watched football (watching doesn't really cover my obsession) for more than 50 years... Last Saturday against the Giants may be one of my top five all-time greatest games ever!!
4th quarter Brady and the team a sa whole, click. Billichek expects discipline, and that's been the key. No boasting, no crap. Just do your job
That was some game Scarlet. It was something. hecku'va game.
Exactly. Very disciplined... I was worried for a few weeks... the pocket around Brady kept dissolving, and the defense looked like a bunch of Nancyboys (no insult to our resident wit) and I wondered what the heck was going on with them and why Billo didn't kick some serious tushies!
***reverts back to Brady fantasy***
forgive the interruption....GO STEELERS!
Never ever, give the press or the opposition anything to pin up on the locker room wall. See TO........
LOL candy. The who? :-)
candy, I am from Pennsylvania... and all I heard was the *!#%+ Eagles.. the Steelers are phenomenal.. but not this year... Jacksonville will give them a run!
are there any cluers here? I could use one for co6/24 (the first one)

Thanks Everyone for your Help...^_^
add a robot ending phae
Good luck with your report, darth.
Thanks again music
I discovered early on that autobiographies were good for book reports. They were usually fairly short and chock full of juicy, useable details.
..well it can't be to short it has to be at least 200 pages...
grrr
thanks Jellen I will need it...
does anyone use quickbooks?
I need a list of customer addresses and can't figure out how to access them without opening each customers job
200 pages is short, as far as books go. I take it you don't like to read much, Darth.
Well I do like to read just not nonfiction to tel ya the turth I would rather read a 500 fantasy page book instead of a 200 page nonfiction
hey darth i used to be like that at your age but the older I get the more non-fiction I read.
i know that doesn't help you right now really
I think this book got pretty good reviews, darth--American Sphinx: The Character of Thomas Jefferson By Joseph J. Ellis. It's 365 pages.
...all I know is that tommororw I HAVE TO GO to a bookstore
okay I will look brb
THAT'S PERFECT THANK YOU SO SO SO SO MUCH JELLEN!!!!!

Its what happens when the government makes you jump through hops because you have been unemployed for 3 years and they mess you about despite having a crazy card that allows me not to work but they wont put me on a pension as its depression
depression is tough to get certified in the states, too
why won't it take the drink sm******?
I swear they just want me to go postal on them. Any way they were nice in the office and my house mate lent me a $50 to cover a direct debit

she was playmate of the year 2007...
Ok my nets being crap
chic did you LOVE gene simoons' comparing omarosa to a cockroach?
there does seem to be some lag time...
Then shes not a bunny shes a playmate big difference. Playmates show of tits and arse bunnys don't bunnys have deportment and manners and is hard work
yes! he's a very smart business guy; should be interesting to watch....
uh infern, who cares......
the buzz from trump is how shrewed steven baldwin is
sorry shrewd....i really don't like gene simmons

*plugs ears with fingers* lalaallaallaLAla
dubious distinction at best, lol....
i gather that Obama and Huckabee came out on top in IA?
Well sod you all then if your going to be rude. I was only educating you on something
as much as being diurnal again pleases me, i have oddly mixed feelings about leaving the night shift, which kind of surprises me.
dubious also, dc...lol...
goodnight, all. fern, sod off

np crp, glad I had it

yep and I still have 33 to go....
Crp i got interrupted in my babbling so i do hope to finish no list but ill be pushing it
Yah Weeg
this one was not the most awful we've had by far.
Go Chic GO
anyone else feeling the disturbance in the psychic atmosphere? I think it's Hillary screaming in disbelief!
???
disbelief. you think?
1st US Prez primary was today, lady
I think the 'no coast' voters are traditionalist and very conservative...
OH so is this a good thing or a bad thing? Yah for Madam PRes i say
Mr Obama bested her in the Iowa caucus, herin. Ya dc, I think she was quite sure she'd win. Now things get interesting
Barak Obama came out on top 2 to 1 among the Dems, lady
Anything has got to be better than mr dick
oh wow, i have not listened to news all day, so Obama won in Iowa
i generally agree w/Clinton, but fear that choosing her would galvinize the conservative forces. They seem to irrationally despise her.
I don't care aslong as they resign the papers for fertility prevention
very true, lady :D
i am a bit surprised,
I hope the woman get out the vote for Hillary then maybe the war will end...
with tht outcome
outcome
Bush was against it and aide to those in need of emergancy pills and that sort of stuff. Pissed me off as the states wouldn't help those born of rape that kind of thing.
There's soooo much wrong with the current administration, monkeys could just throw darts and hit any number of irritating subjects
chic, you think she's only hope for pulling out in favor of UN?
so true, weegee
Yes i agree. When Bush goes that is number 3 in the axis of evil
arses of evil
Just thinking that
scary, that
dc, I'm so non-political ( I don't vote; never have); I'm just against war and I think a change of gender might shake things up a bit
but as we know it's the President who's in charge really.
hm. mayhap, chic.
change of gender, someone not WASPy...
Sorry Chic but you didn't vote you really shouldn't have an opinion on political matters. Sorry sorry sorry if that seems rude but its just a me thing
hi babblers
it's not the pres who's in charge, I mean...
i, OTOH, follow politics to a level befitting my upbrining in the nation's capital area.
hi, shdy
the vice pres is very much in charge and has been since Mr. B was elected
Snuggles Shaddy
hiya, dc, how goes it?
Hi shdy
I agree 100%, infern, politics is a crock of sh**..
hey, herin **hugs**
does rather seem that way, weegee
hi weegee
oh, phooey on it all then. May I offer a couple of minutes to clue?
alright, shdy. tonight's my last day on night shift for a while. going back to days next week.
sounds good, once you adjust your sleep pattern, dc
Hi, shdy
hi jellen!
Chic as woman the Suffragettes and the womens movement fought hard for our right to vote. We are free people and even though the choices of whom to vote is not good its always best to vote for the lesser or the two weevils
DC is that a bad thing?
wow, did i walk in right when political talk ended? (yayyyy!!!)
does that mean, dc, we won't see you at flip time then?
no, lady, it's not a bad thing, though i'll miss being here at the hours i have been.
mostly not, chic
I think I brought it back up shdy, and apologize.
sometimes on my days off.
OH POUT that means youll be here when im sleeping?
well shucks and darn, dc....
s'ok, weegee, lol
Hands up for me as a crabby bitch today. Sorry all
goodness, herin, hadn't noticed that about you (yet), **more hugs**
I missed the crabby part but I can't imagine it was so bad
lady, i'll be working 7-19 gmt-5 instead of my current 19-7
so does that mean ill miss you DC? Also were in the states are you?
(this should be good)
i'm in Virginia, just outside of Washington, DC.
Just a standard had to do stuff stuff didn't happen bad mood
