If I may , Lice DO NOT like clean hair , they cannot get through it. Hairspray or gel / moose work well to prevent it !!!

You can definitely use the oil post shampooing it helps loosen up the lice grip.

I also heard about shaving half your head and setting the other half on fire. When the lice try to escape the flames kill them with an ice pick.
DO NOT combine Rid with Desenex. Roommates and i learned that the hard way years ago - that combo makes fumes that make you choke.
