hi all
Jillibus, I live where there is not much excitement so I could not think of anything else.Plus I'm still new to the area up here,so I am still learning about it myself
big oops!
st7
min, is Sing Sing still nearby?
Nonnie, i picked out a maytag model but tomorrow morning, will surf the sites of Home Depot and Lowe's. Turns out we cannot afford GE, and I will NOT buy Kenmore
Jilli, it's called Ossining now. :)
why not Kenmore? Gets top billing in Consumer Reports all the time
I do live near a prison, but don't know if it is Sing Sing
my phantom: inspector
^^^^^^used to work in prisons
I am not sure that I want a prison as my icon jillibus.
Pretty sure it is, Min.
Minver, are you near Ossining?
No, I don't blame you, Min, lol!!!
has an ex hubby to be who is one and who is heading away monday week for three months to be one on pitcairn island ank
I used to be near Ossining when I lived in Yonkers,NY
Jilli, Kenmore/Sears is not made by one factory; it's made by the low bidder of each mass order, in various far eastern nations. Quality is very uneven.
st7
Kiwi, your hubby is prisoner on Pitcairn? I missed something?
Mmmm, interesting, ankh -- didn't know that
sn7
no hubby is a prison officer and is heading off to Pitcairn Island for three months (next week) to be a prison officer over there
Oh no, Ankh, Kiwi's hubby is a policeman!
Yes, Jilli, the Kenmore name just "ain't what it used to be."
no jilli a prison officer lol

Just guess at the words as good as you can, and when you get stuck, say so -- be careful never to say a word in the grid (that is, in the puzzle) over here in the chat.
Glad you are back and recovered....Ankh

Jilli, I have been a member for years but don't get as much time on here as I'd like. Love to babble too
Look at the grid, Squig. Try to find words just as long as they touch each other -- no straight line needed.

Hello GreyWoulf! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
{{**stidmama**}} -- I have been working a little too hard lately
stay with it squiggly, you'll catch on quickly
es 8 - sounds like a medical term
ok ill try..
LOL squiggly, we have many "shorthand" things, but most of them are not too hard (I for one am not good at the complicated stuff)
Woulfie! how are you?
if something confuses you, just ask! we are happy to explain.
hey wolf!!!
lol ok
well I suppose working more is better than working less? are you at least well? many babblers and others have been felled this week by that flu
Hi Min -- doing alright -- got a promotion at work -- more responsibility, more people demanding my time -- same hourly pay -- at least I am part of the incentive program now
Hi chic and ren {{**HUGS**}}
Congratulations on your promotion GreyWoulf! YAY!
that is great news wolf!
Hello flosey! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
woo-hoo! promotion material! *PROUD mama look* well done!
whats with the whole 7/8 combo type things?
great thanks min, and good to have you back
we were worried
Thankfully, we are all healthy here, stid -- though that may change soon -- a lot of people at work were sick this past week
squiggy that means that the word has a seven letter and an eight letter combination
okay, that means a word has two forms, a short one (7 letters) and a long (8) -- usually something like that will be a plural or past tense
Oh, thanks!
*tosses bottle of echinacea at woulf*
Thank you flosey. It is good to be back.Missed you all
Hmm, I'm failing and need to sleep. Thanks for the clues .. night all
back again
sweet dreams Jatb!
sweet zzzzzzzzzzzs jat

*catches bottle and places it on the shelf next to the ginseng and multivitamins*
nite jat sweet dreams
hey again jill! weekend going okay?
wb jilli
Goodbye Jatb! I will see you tomorrow in the chat log
Hi jilli!
stid, there was a farewell party for Hetty and Alan this afternoon -- huge crowd
Hi woulfie -- congrats on the promotion!
ok found 154 words...eyelids are fluttering closed...night all, gl everyone :)
This is kinda random but, is there an age limit on this?
oh how wonderful! where was it held? the little church?
he 7 x 3
LOL no squiggly -- we try to keep conversations all-ages appropriate
sweet dreams kazozz!
nite kaz sweet dreams
sweet zzzzzzzzzzzzzz kaz
stid, it was in a gorgeous house on the waterfront -- it's for sale...wanna buy it? Probably only a million or two
Goodbye Kazozz! I will see you tomorrow in the chat!
Oh, thats cool. It just seemed like i was kinda young.
no age limit, squiggly, we don't usually ask -- babble is universal across all ages, races, creeds and other social delineators :-)
my children play occasionally, and some regular players are under 13
yeah, as woulf proves, even being a dog isn't a barrier! *grin*
and then there's ancient me
Huh. Okay. Thats awesome
except trolls - and they get roasted
something to be exceptionally proud of jilli!
pshaw! jill likes to think she's old...
that's cos trolls are the antithesis of social
no I don't! I refuse to get old!
and sometimes regulars do trollish things...
then there are ppl like me who are not crazy just insane lol
LOL I _knew_ that would get yer goat Jill!
jilli is our our babble encyclopedia...or the babblepedia
:D
and lurkers like me who sometimes get lippy
ooh! I found a ce 6 that is an element!
oh yes, the canucks are some of the worst!
ty stid -- got it right away!
me too thx stid
(^^)V All of you guys are awesome! Like i said before, thank you so much for being paitent and kind to me.
thanks here as well, stid
oh dear, ren I'm no know-it-all!
yw everyone! I love to be helpful!
squigs, you're pretty awesome too
well jilli - you're pretty smart and interesting - interesting - that's the difference
yes! I greyed the Z tile!
Aw shucks. lol thanks. =D
although I have to admit I never knew that word.....
and I hope someone pointed squiggly to Angelsong's pages?
somebody said the Z words were easy. I haven't found any of them
http://www.freewebs.com/angelsong/ really helped me out when I was new
jilli did stid
Yes, stid
the z words are really "nothing" to crow about I suppose...
there is 'nothing' to them jilli ;-)
lol was just gonna say something like that stid!!
... beat me to the punchline, stid!
OOhh, woulf. Huge tuna whacking me in the face
oh golly! I know it's late when I get this far and THEN realize how big the grid is! LOL I thought it was 208... not two-eighty!
fireworks!
*carefully removes tuna and replaces with alder-smoked salmon*
YAY freep!!! Amazing!
YAY just!
yowsa freep wtg!
yayayay freep
Yayyy for justafreep!!!!!
the Es were a pain
mo 5/7/8/7 combo all starting with the mo 5
*slurping smoked salmon gratefully*
wtg freep ^5
Ren -- I have been waay out of touch, how is Mez?
sorry, this is another random question but have any of you read the Twilight series?
wolf - he's going in next week for evaluation on a new knee
Not me, squig
personal injury attorney is asking for 750 to 600k for damages
top left e was a snap freep!
aw they are amazing books.
wow, ren!
WOW that is a lot of money ren... not that it will pay for everything, but at least it will help
Will continue to send positive energies your way, ren -- in all venues :-)
how do you ask people to be friends?
squigs, there's a Babblers group on Goodreads
you don't have to ask squiggly -- in the "who's online" section just click next to the person's name
Who writes them, squig?
also some babblers on facebook (if you're old enough to have an account there)
Stephanie Meyer
is the author
it is a lot of money - personally - i just want the old mezzie back and the ability to take out evening walks
maybe the money will help, ren?
found them online. they are intriguing, squiggly. I will have to see if our library has them
oh and thanks stidmama
{{{ren}}} this has been so hard on both of you.
i think a new knee will help - we need to buy a new house or build a new house so he can get in and out of it - this place is very old and has front and rear steps to climb to the porches
you should! they are about vampires and kinda sound lame, but they totally arn't!
I will add them to my list of books to check out as well, squig
oh, yes, steps are hard on joints. That's partly why our home is all one level. easier for me to navigate when my legs hurt
ok! =D
but I have to admit, ren, that I really love the look (and feel) of a multi-story dwelling. Something really comforting about them.
it is stid - and we have it full of antiques and we call it our 221b baker street house
I like one floor -- grew up in apartments
We are hoping to be getting a house within the next two years, and the only requirement my daughter has it that it must have an upstairs cos she and her brother loving going up and down
what fun, ren! I love antiques, but lack the patience and discipline to properly care for delicate things.
Ill be right back everyone....
our chandelier is down to one bulb now - we have to hire soemone to come in and change the bulbs
good going wolf! that will be nice
LOL and what does Mrs Woulf say about that? does she want to trudge up and down stairs?
ok im back.
All she wants is someplace that is ours with enough room for us all to live without being on top of each other
ok sweet peas - my cats are herding me to the bed - see you all later!
that was fast, squiggly!
nite ren sweet dreams
sweet dreams ren! love to mezzie, too. *tosses chocolate bonbons*
night rennie, and give mez a hug
Me, I want a good quality building with enought rooms for me to have a library/game room and an office in addition to separate bedrooms for the kids
nitey nite, ren
oh! G'Night ren
yes, that office of mine was a requirement. Also the separate bathroom for the boys. And a BIG yard. Actually, the yard was first, then bathrooms, then my space. LOL
gotta have one's priorities!
stid's space isn't big enough, lol!
Man, im getting addicted to this...is that a bad thing?
the yard is a necessity as well, it doesn't have to be too big -- just enough to provide a buffer zone from the neighbors and give the kids a safe zone for playing
no squiggy its a normal thing lol
we're all addicts, squiggly!
no, squig -- it means you belong here!
it happens to all of us squiggly
it will be just big enough once the boys are gone in a few years, jill! *crosses fingers and eyes and hopes*
no way, stid!
join the club squig, morning all
yay! ok so nightings wrong with me...
=d
=D*

hi witchy
what if I actually get my greenhouse and shop built?
lol sorry i cant type tonight...
morning witchy
junk expands to fill the space available
hello witchy! good to see you again!
Hi stid see you have a temporary move to china!!
Phillip K Dick referred to it as 'kipple', jilli
yes, still celebrating chinese new year... much more interesting than the gray rain this time of year!
I'm trying to find the Y word but all I can think of is Ypres. Yeps doesn't work...
hi uh, witchy i AM joining the club, i just signed up like mabey a half hour ago.
=D
and squiggly is settling in quite nicely, too! *offers squiggly chocolate to celebrate*
It will never let you go now sqiggly, be prepared for fun anf frustration!! Welcome
would, I remember reading and liking Philip K Dick years ago -- can't remember the title(s)
*and*
yay! thank you guys so much!
oh wow! I am past halfway!
that was woulf, not would (I can't type at this hour)
go stid go
Specifically, he used the term in 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep', the book that the movie Bladerunner was based on
(^^)v (this is kinda my signature you will see it alot im my typing. it means peace out)
woulf, are you SURE you're not android yourself?
just to let you know...
that is a lovely signature, squiggly...
hello again all
we should also warn you about the pirates of babblonia...
hey ursh!
Hi ursh
aw thanks. stidmama
I love PKD because his primary themes were attempting to define reality objectively and attempting to define what makes us human objectively
I am one, so is ren -- and jill, among others. we occasionally have pirate battles in the chat log.
Arrrr!!
Woulf, that's real SF --Speculative Fiction, not "sci-fi", a term I hate.
I am not sure that objectivity is possible really -- the observer IS the observed, and don't we change the fundamental experiment by our mere attention?
stid, you put Marshall McLuhan to shame!
*runs off to google mcluhan*
exactly, stid ... that is what makes his writing so interesting.... also the fact that his writing reflects his having participated in the counterculture of the '60s as well
hello everyone
McLuhan -- "the medium is the message" etc
Hiya!
jilli -- I am with you on that, the correct term is SF... Sci Fi is a TV channel
Hello lynxxx! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
good eve ursh good eve lynxxx happy babbling
hi lynxxx!
wow. that's heady stuff, jill. I don't think I ever heard of him before.
hey lynxxx! how's retirement looking today? going to get another pedicure? or just sit in the garden sipping lemonade? LOL
ohhh been waiting to see you ursh - my ma is in SA at moment - currently in durban but spending most of time in Oudsthoorn

nite grey sweetest dreams
hi flosey and night grey
sweet dreams woulf ((((((hugs)))))) and *kisses* to the kids!
G'Night woulf.
hi lady!
squiggly, you go pro -- it costs $14.95 just once
{{{***HUGS for all***}}} sorry to have just missed you, lady welcome once again, squig
do i have to?
Pay a certain amount of cash and you can have stats and flags and stuff for life.
GRey. Missed you too. Sorry i face planted the couch and slept for 3 hours
you get a flag from paying for the game, squiggly. If you have already done that, go to the "my account" settings and choose your country.
hi there herin
hi herin
hmmm. i dont know...just to let you know....im US. (washington)
thanks stid, and you're welcome -- no mo5ing perceived
HI Stid and Flosey and Groovy and Jill and Mva and else lurking.
D.C. or south of B.C., squiggly?
hi herin
i didnt pay for the game though.
all the right letters are in the grid for eczema... just not close enough!
i just founf a random website called stumble upon
herin, such a graphic phrase I haven't heard before - I face plant my couch all the time!
squiggly you pay for the extras only
stumble upon is a fun time-waster!
i found it on a random website by using stumble upon*
squigs, you get a two week free trial period. After that you don't get to see the tiles or how many words there are.
Squiggly we didn't pay for nothing. We get a flag, a pic, a profile and the tile stats which are really handy but they go away after 2 weeks (i think)
i know!
*confused*
Hi Chrissie. I told my b.f to get me up and about in 15 min (so i could finish the last grid) but he let me sleep.
Hi Infernal
stats are "free" for two weeks, then available only for people who paid the one-time fee.
Squiggly no dramas enjoy the game.
Hi lynxx
the flag/profile/pic are just fun extras
ooOooOOoooOOOhhh.
Sqiggly - just play for 2 weeks. If you are still playing, then go pro
Hi Infernal
never mind herin, another day another grid :-)
after 2 weeks i can play without paying?
I agree with lynxxx's advice...
cant*
Yes you can Squiggly.
a Babble day that is
oh...
YES! you can continue to play, it's just a bit harder without the stat boxes
Yes Sqiggly - just lose stats, but some people are happy with that
Chrissie the other reason is that i wanted to sleep tonight
anyone see if ursh is still alive she no responding to chat lol me wonders if she lost in cyberspace somewheres
Its too hot to sleep Infernal
It is the weekend and we did go for a picnic and it was a good day (till the council fined us $54 for not paying a stupid parking ticket) Its a Sunday for frogs sake
im still confused, but ill get soon. Thanks.
ursh is deep in the grid.... *tosses a chocolate lifering to ursh*
Groovy the chat is a little wonkey at my end.
Ok. I feel like telling a lame joke ok? Why couldn't the bicycle stand up?
Lynxx i sleep under blankies in this weather so its not really bothered
oh, squiggly, you and rururocks are going to get along fine! LOL

Oh my, no! I am actually a closet Brit! Love reading British novels
I don't know what the funny upside down e at the end of their pronunciation means
herin, I was googling tinyurl when computer freaked, looks like a useful tool
The Liver bird (pronounced /ˈlaɪvÉšbÉd/)
Oh well, even if I can't pronounce it correctly, I have learned some very interesting things tonight! Thanks herin and Chrissie

Good Morning all . I'm still at work, looks like amonster grid to me today.
Hi Red and anyone else around
As you see, your post is the first in over twenty minutes, redT. Grid is not that bad.
HI Lynxx, how are you today?
hello, lynxxx
Hi BabRab
Oh had not noted it Babble, Hello!
Good thanks Red. Hows the accomodation thing going?
morning, all--found 100 really fast . . . but baffled by that top left "c"!
It seems to be solved. The land lady has not botheres me, and the situation is much calmer. I feel better.
And after tonight only 7 weeks.
nm
that c has thought police
Hi Une...hope no-one 'restricts' your reading or decides what film you can see
think of the person who edits what is said on tv, diff vowel near end
ooohhh, thanks! :-)
Hi nDan
and that c is greyed out!
it's religious container
There are indeed a lot of plurals.
Hi Une.
and nDan.
'lo
hey, red :-)
Une, you have a magical double avatar today...
thomas paine wrote common ***** 4 words in grid
LOL just changed it to my new foster child!
very cute Une..
good afternoon all
hey, sprite!
hello, sprite
hello
hey, MLFAN
hi MLF
Hi Sprite!!
Hi Sprite !
how's the grid treating you all today?
not bad :-)
too short; too easy
well, in about 15 min, I have 79... not as bad as i thought.
Une - was just looking at all yr doggie photos..your home must be dog heaven, they all look so at ease
sounds inviting :D
i havent been here that long and i have 33 words
don't speak he 6 27 BR
we tell you this sprite, to trap you here of course!
ahhhhh red, how delightfully wicked :)
;)
TONS of phantoms though..
red - several of your neighborhoods he words are here ;)
LOL nDan!!!!
are their any 7 or more lettered words?
they are indeed, TY TY...
do you weigh words by the letter?
23 x 7 and 5 x 8
23?
errr, my neighbourhood isnt interested in Letters...
not sure, BabbleRabble. Or by points? Or by meaning?
i just got an re 7
phantom word of the day is serpent
Stubbs, I have cheese, and about 10 others...
cheese was mine too
same here thought it was a word in the grid this time lol
e 8 --- ana******** --- what puts you to sleep for surgery
Hi Stubbs & Imprint

Stubbs 191 words Imprint3454 190 words
Yay 101 words...
I have a chance to finish.
and thanks for the cy too
un 8 -- solomonesque
aw mo8/55 kisssss :)
er 8 was here the other day - pancreatic enzymes, ends in 7 Deadly ****
is the cy 8 an extention of the cy 6?
should be not solomonesque
yes
i got the 6 7 abd 8 mo
and a 5
all from minnie the ...
ah, now I get your clue, BabbleRabble. Sorry, brain is still in frozen gear.
thanks again nDan
my obfuscation is only exceeded by obscurity
nDan, thanks
not getting that cy 8 yet
you are pretty clear, BabbleRabble. I am the obfused one he4, grin.
well said, Rabble! Morning, all. Hi sprite.
hi hydra!
Hi Hydra !
cy8 is plural of the cy6/30
er 7 and 8 -- before and toxins are *oi***(pl)
hello, hydra
cy Fl tree -ish
wow, thanks you cluers, got all the 8s now
Tell me now. Do I go to the gym, or do I remain a falt slob in front of Babble?
hm i thought i tried that and it didnt go through but ti did now ty
you could do some stretching between words, behind the keyboard, hydra?
Hydra - get half way and then go to gym
seems like a no-brainer
It's surprising how often that happens, MLFAN. Yes, you're right, sprite. But what about my legs and my fat derriere?
I know. I could sit on my Pilates ball and bounce up and down. Boiiiiing!
you look perfectly fine to me, hydra
hydra it happens a lot but i guess we dont realize that often sometimes
It's infuriating though. You try it, it doesn't go in, you puzzle for ages, ask for a clue and darn it, it's that very same word and this time it DOES go in! I think there's a little Babble gremlin that sneaks in and stops the words going in.
got an sn6 and 7
it is usually a typo you don't realise you make.
hydra i completely agree lol
it is resistentialism really
You're probably right, sprite, but I like the idea of the gremlin.
trust me sprite i have put in exact words the way they should be spelled and until they are clued they dont go in
owwww beautiful word, BabbleRabble, and it could happen in a grid!
lol hydra, I agree. Gremlins are behind almost everything.
co 6 and 7 woohoo
he biggies for valiants and drugs
If infernal was here, I think she'd have a view on gremlins.
The lure of the gum torture has won. See ya l8r!
oh yes, she would indeed, hydra. They have been pe4ering her for ages.
gremlins got good gas mileage
bye Hydra
enjoy, hydra
why is that, BabbleRabble?
but awful maintenance issues
It is a 1974 Gremlin X 304/auto, Trans-am Red, black interior, PS/PB Air, Rear Window Defogger, luggage rack and other options.
how many words this time?
280
ty stubbs
np
i got an in 6 and 7
really! some-one really named their car a Gremlin?
ohhhh I want one!
yep
Yes, The Gremlin was around when I was a kid, a bit better than a Yugo, i understand.
what brave people
company is no longer in business
got haunted by too many gremlins?
haha
BRB
Hydra, go go to the gym! You will enjoy the rest of babble more if you do...
saying that intercept is a phantom is pushing it, isn't it?
she went Red - such will power
I looove the gym.
Pathetic but true.
Phantom, Thespian.
that is just great, red, not pathetic.
french 'with' is valid. Tsk.
they are addictive too Red
red that is another word i thought was going to be in the grid but it wasnt
I tried that one too, red
lol... threatening my kids that I will solve their quarrel if they don't seems to be working like a charm
Lynxx, I always thought the french with was avec, there is no v in the grid??
red: th5 is another 'with'. Like in ch4 nous.
i never know if he 5/12 is supposed to have another vowel in it or not as in so many things it works both ways
best ask Sprite - her word - I can't remember my french from 45 years ago!
Oh Crud, all my french is very limited, learned it at work...
phantom: habromania, a form of de-geezer
it uses a high scoring letter, red
ce 6 and 7 woohoo
my french is more often known as 4 letter words
bleech.
like in pardon my french, BabbleRabble?
yep
i have 100 words woohoo
hey sprite..how many languages do you speak?
hi rolin *hug* Fluently only dutch and english. Haltingly german, french (and japanese a very little bit). The rest is pick-and-choose knowledge.
id really love to leanr another language...i just need to find a class that fits for timing..wish i could find a weekend class somewhere

ahhhhhh all becomes clear - LOL
obviously, i don't TYPE english
to... picture this... slightly overweight..slightly too old or young... skirt very tight and short...boob tube..too much make up..and bling
ah, so your area is known for loose women, rolin?
tr 6,24 1-3: anagram of scot mtn; 4-6: 1st 3 of gouda, edam, swiss word; 7s are related
brb, oven needs to go on :-)
Taken from the English to American dictionary: "slapper n person on the prowl for anything they can get. Anything. The word is applied more often to females, arguably because it is a built-in function of blokes and doesn't deserve a separate word. "Slappers" wander around the dance floor looking for the drunkest blokes and then, when they've found them, woo them by dancing backwards into them "accidentally". The are invariably spotted at the end of an evening telling the bouncer how lonely they are and trying to sit on his knee."
hi, all. we've had both of our grandsons since yesterday afternoon.
its one of those things TO...they may well be lovely women...but their sense of fashion leave something to be marvelled at..lol
and as jac says... t
WOW...congrats angel...
rolin - googling the images for 'slappers' brings up lots of wooden 'paddles'. LOL
Jacula, love your icon...and your description of slappers...never heard that word before
slappers are usually spotted by their muffin tops jeans :-)
awkward:)
names...details angel?

Our newest addict, Lori Ann, has returned, which is a very good sign that the force is pulling her in.
Today is tennis from 12-2, then a Scrabble party and dinner. Yippee!
what a nice day for you, scrabbs, enjoy
scrabs, are you planning any trips to nj?
sounds like a fun day to me, Scrabbler
I should, Owl! Then I can see my sister, you and Doren!
yes, Scrabbler I am hooked!!! My poor husband had to pull me away last evening for a game of scrabble!! I could'nt wait to get back to babbleland.
uh oh. lori ann...
don't worry, for some of us it starts out that strong and then it tempers itself after a while
I remember the beginning for me too--I couldn't get enough. Now it is my daily refuge---first thing in the morning, every evening, and sometimes afternoons. You have to adjust your priorities and to-do lists.
Hi Hurshy

rolin, do you play on ISC?
Off to cook dinner now and have family time. will be back later hopefully

it isn't saturday anywhere
it is if you're off monday
except on saturn, i spose, where every day is saturday

Heya, Pam, Hurshy, Scrabbler, Monkey, Angel, Aixoise and all
8 more C's ... *swithers*
Hi Ankhorite
Dang, Hursh, thought you were fishing with "swithers" -- not there.
cypro is a medicine, isn't it sc?
no, i was just swithering
I passed halfway and must get ready for tennis. Bye all. I shall return tonight.
or is it cipro
cipro
ciprofloxacin is the drug
whatsitdo
have fun, scrabs!
blood thinner?
Yeah, cipro... have fun, Scrabbler
Antibiotic--used for pneumonia, tissue infections, UTIs
ohhhhh
For adults only--not for kiddos
Hursh, blood thinner is warfarin / trade name coumadin or "Rough on Rats"
LOL, Ankh
donworry i won't give it to any kids
Really! :) Also D-Con
And it is rough on kids, cats and dogs that eat it too.
i did know bout coumadin but i thought there might be more blood thinners
Scrabbler, are there more besides warfarin?
an i will keep my kitties far far away from it
Lovenox and heparin
I won't use D-Con because I know how that kind of death feels. It's too cruel. I use Rat Zapper, ratzapper.com
you know how death feels???? are you spock?
Oh, of course. Doc, never everlet a patient shoot lovenox into their butt. They won't be able to sit for weeks.
I must cut this pharmacology class short and get ready.
I know how internal bleeding feels, Hursh. It doesn't sound like it hurts, right? Whoa-ho, WRONG. It hurts.
Yes, after my operations I had Lovenox in my thighs and those bruises/lumps lasted many weeks.
goodness me
Yep! Now shoo! Make us proud!
well..my friends I got a load of laundry folded and beds made, now I am off to the grocery store. See you all later. Good Luck to all.
Switching from Babbler to tennis player...bye!!
Y Y O Y can't I figure out the first sp4?
OH! Bye, Lori! DIdn't see yo.
do you have the sp4s for that new building project?
::: considers Hurshy's clue :::
Ankhorite I was back and forth working and playing now I must go for awhile to shop....Yuck
AHA! Txs, Hursh!
ciao, loriann--
Good luck, Lori, I should go shop also. :(
I have a few minutes before the dryer adn the store beckon me...
I have a few minutes before the dryer adn the store beckon me...
ankh--deos the zapper work?
Who am I kidding, I have 148 words left... grumble... still need to find a new range online... lowes.com.... OH PAM, yes, it works perfectly.
AND my hubby says they all die with little smiles on their faces (he's kidding, I think) but seriously, no sign of pain or fear.
there is an element in the grid, and there is a birdie we don't often have, and there is a poetic foot. very very nice.
Rat Zapper should hire me to sing their praises. Regular traps weren't working at all; catching feet and tails, too cruel, can't deal with that.
I will look into it, ankh as recent construction in the 'hood has gotten us a mice issue, and the cat is old..
regular traps are not working...
It was 40 bucks, and that made me hesitate. No more! No hesitation at all! Will kill mice, rats, chipmunks. Not cats, not squirrels.
if you haven't seen this, PLEASE check it out--it is hilarious! http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/a ll/
i tried to use a small hamster cage to catch some mouses in an apartment i lived in, so that the cats would not torture them. i put mouse treats like peanut butter inside and rigged a sting attached to the treat to shut the door, but the mouses were too clever and got the treats and got away
Well, maybe an eeeeeny teeeny kitten if smaller than a squirrel. Works inside, works outside, but outside you must keep it sheltered from rain. Aixoise, is that the Notorious Couch?
thanks much, ankh... the price will be nothing compared to the aggravation...
mouses?
Hurshy, yes, mice are smart like that.
Meese, evano. :)
You'll be so glad, Pam. And it doesn't chew through batteries.
well, you know, mouses has a fuller, pleasanter, and cuter sound than mice
Although, if you want it as a permanent setup in a garage or warehouse, you CAN get the kind with a plug instead of batteries. But the batter usage has been moderate to minimal.
batterY. Not batter. We aren't having deep-fried mice, I swear.
rats.
No, not year of the rats, either.
no i meant, rats, my mouth was getting all watered for deep-fried mouse-kabobs
I will deinitely look into it!
*definitely
see, pam was too
LOLOL
::: puts hands on hamster hips and glares at Hurshy ::: Oh, REALLY?
you're the one killing 'em!
With dignity and respect and not kabob-sticks! ;)
house says that there is never dignity in death, that it's just a lie we tell ourselves for comfort
::: pictures self jousting with mouse with kabob sticks at thirty paces :::
House is right.

How do you play this game?
hi cap
im trying to look for the instructions

doesn't make the grid any easier for some but on a week nite small grids are good
Melon, it's like babble and scrabble.
you find words within the jumble of letters.
Melon, see the green links under the puzzle grid?
yea....I've been making words...but im not too sure what the letter count at the bottom is for?
you mean the tile stats?
280 word list? Does that mean that they have already made a predetermined list of words
I believe it tells you how many words for that specific letter there are
yea
The little white numbers are the value of each letter
clue for co5/12 after the money?
WELCOME Melon! There are a lot of really helpful links at the bottom of the screen. Lickety's Babble Clues will give you a list of the first two letters of each word in the grid.

ty ch
WOW. I'm sorry, ank. I like to think we've come a long ways from those days, but of course many people still think it's okay to persecute others for believing differently.
huh ch that's the world and it sucks
Or worse, persecute others because they simply look different.
looking different is a far cry from beliefs
Thank you. Gramma Ann's petition is the saddest thing in the world to read; the neighbor who testified against her had been flogged for perjury just the year before. I think he owed her money and this was a way of getting rid of her.

But then there are many, many people who don't do that, and I have met several of them on this website!

Boy am I out of the cultural loop, as an expat American, from the NE of the US, NASCAR is not even in my vocabulary! Looks like I missed out.
needs to lose weight and cut his hair!
i saw his new long hairdo
LOL mich! I am still here and stopped watching NASCAR about 30 years ago...
it's internationally famous now - not 2 late 2 watch - i just began 8 years ago
OH well, Stid, we're stuck with the grid today (If I can get some of my kids to go to sleep that is!)
lol mich! I'm here and never watched NASCAR

o thought i heard that b4
well that just stinks 4 both of u
we'll try this one
what is that 1?
yep. I shall be "vacationing" in Brazil for a while. prices are lower during lent when people aren't supposed to be celebrating as much...
Yay! Stid has a flag again!!
It looks like a froggy's eye... (ribbit ribbit)
i thought SA was mostly catholic
lol @ froggy
That's a great picture of the 5 of you stid!
it is predominantly roman catholic, nance.
thanks. dilly on the far right, of course. I still miss her.
CY 6 please?
y don't they celebrate lent there?

er7, = er + not coke but p**** + one hump
I am using the list nance, go to the "lickety's clues" page linked in the friends of babble section
nance, many of us use Lickety's list to get the first two letter combos
yes
yes nance, and that you don't have any of the ones from that tile yet
sorry in process of cabbage rolls
Yes, nance, that means you have none of the six words that come from that particular C
yummmmmmmmmmmmm - love cabbage rolls
stid e plus sales ***resentative plus not saint but ***ner

awwwwwwwwwww
sure r6: french for rock (I think) + first letter in hot drink (not coffee)
I remember that video with Kix Brooks and
Still brings tears to my eyes when I see Dale Sr.
pr 5 12 a gift - last 2 letters
Kix Brooks and Dale, almost twins
& me also when the spectators would hold up 3 fingers during the 3rd lap of every race
prest
yep speedfreak
sorry
darn. don't know french for rock.
to ArtSpring, stid -- Ben Butterfield -- three singers
they do - sr was in 1 of their videos as kicks
and also change vowel to 1st one
tr7 = add yellow pigment, drop the r and add vowel, then swap for the plural
When my two boys finish college our treat to my husband and I is to attend speed weak in Daytona!!! Right now we only have season tickets to Laconia NH but at least its two races a year!!

ro 6/24 is ro plus ***verolet plus cross letter gwenski
have season tickets to Las Vegas race, only a few weeks away
if hubby and I ever win big on a lottery, we're taking a year and attending each and every race....it's nice to dream

Is there another clue anyone?
Finally got it on nDanLia's clue, but thanks everyone else for trying.
me 2 when my ship comes in
we went to the busch race in Montréal last summer
LOL autumn moon: We always say that but then I never play the lottery!!!!
pr 5/12:pr+vowel + snake letter plus vowel rururocks
I clued at 2:12 ruru
i went to richmond and had to take alot of pain pills to do it but its worth it just once at least
attending a race is amazing, so many people. the Las Vegas race has about 170,000 people
they said there were almost 700,000 people there today - do you think that's true?
pr 5 12s; 2nd is a gift [you give a birthday *******] - last 2 letters; for 1st change vowel to 1st
okay, asking for my last two fish... se 6/18 the last
thx sadie - i may try it then
I think so Nance.
I have that one.. I muyst need the one after that there are two 5/12 's in a row. I have the one that ends in a vowell

hi, all. back to finish the grid. I've been crying. I am so upset.
Lots of Daytona watchers here! I'm a babble watcher
tr 6/7/7 take ro6 24, move last letter to front, then double last letter for 1st 7; for 2nd 7 pl base word
hello
sadie - have that too....bed, computer, lazyboy and 50" all in one room....it's great! all I need is a bar fridge and I'd be set.
Hello Angelsong! How are you? Welcome to the puzzle
what's wrong Angel?
what's the matter Angel?
What's wrong, angel
Hi periwnkle! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
Sorry to hear you've been crying. What's the matter?
nDanLia, wow, good clue, thank you
lol autumn moon have bed and snacks up here and soda also lol
Hi Anhkorite! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
my daughter needed us to babysit because she is ill with a cold or flu. But her husband is using drugs again, and she had to ask him to leave until he is clean. And my three year old grandson is convinced Dad is not home because Dad hates the 3 year old.
Oh... (((Angel)))
Oh how sad Angelsong! Hope you can explain it to her
Hiya, Minver, just saw you, sorry to be slow
(((((Angel)))))
se 6/18 either one?
Oh how sad Angelsong! Hope you can explain it to him
it really does upset me. I am so angry with my son in law...and my heart breaks for my daughter and her sons.
Angel - cyber hug for you (the best I can do for you). Hope you can find the words to explain it in a way the 3yrold can understand.
I know all about being slow. Been hobbling around too
All you can say to a baby that size is that Daddy loves him but Daddy is sick right now and needs to stay away...
Good advice, Ank.
((((Angel)))), hopefully he'll get his act together and your grandson will , exactly what Ankh is saying
Maybe say "really" sick so grandsons don't get scared every time a person catches cold.
se6/18 is most se 4/4 or adds cross letter to se 5/10
we have told him that. but he still internalizes it. all children his age think everything that happens is their fault.
thanks min
Jumping out for a while (but not to watch the race). Bye all.
Well, yes, but he won't be this age for long, so just keep saying. Be consistent.
next se 6.18?
se 6/18 se + relax & doze is to ****; se 6/18 se + flower for dearest w/ 1st vowel at end
Angel: If there is a drug/alcohol rehab place nearby they have professionals who help families and young children understand please look into that (lots of time free counseling)
Me too, min, se thanks and next
thank you
DanLia, got flower clue but not doze clue
Oh wait, got it, got doze, sorry, thanks!
se + musical pause
TY nDan , morning all
I'm going to find some help for them. I may call my son in law's probation officer also.
Angel, this is horrible for all of you. I'm so sorry. Umm, why call probation? Could have consequences you really don't want.
se6/18 is most se 4/4 or adds cross letter to se 5/10
se 7 take 2nd se 6 & put back the flower ending on the end
If he has job insurance for rehab, and loses his job, he loses his shot at rehab, right?
I don't know about that, but he has to be stopped before he kills himself. He's using methamphetamine.
Well, a probation officer is not going to be as helpful as EMS (emergency medical services)
se 7 take 2nd se 6 18 & put back the flower ending on the end
DanLia, that's not working for me at all, I'm having a stupidfit here.
he can decline services from EMS, and they can't force him to get help.
Hi Ankh - a latin end for the 7
Hello lynxxx! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
Lynxxx, that fixed me up. Txs to you and DanLia.
hi lynxxx
But as a last resort, a probation officer can violate him, get him off the street.
Hi
Hi, Infernal.
'morning Min & MyMuse - & Infernal (how stinky is it?)
Hi herinfernallady! How are you? Welcome to the grid

Who are you Pam?
could I have a clue for the cy8 please
ITs a Greek Island
What do you mean, herin? Who am I?
Shit i do this every day. How are you?
LOL--i am ok, herin. feeling a little bleh--headache, not a bad one, due to a weather change, but ok. You?
Still trying to get the brain to work
can't get to the cy...
FYI, not a Greek Island, own EU country - sore spot with them
Ok well im not awake. Thank you for that KJE and welcome
the only one I can think of is a tree in lebanon, and that is not in the grid, grrrr
Oh, and htanks, kje
going to bed now, see you all tomorrow :-)
thanks for the clue, herinfernallady - got it
clue please for the first and the last pe5/12's, please?
KJE how are you
sucked into a time warp with this puzzle
Flask sounds like something you put into a handbag and a mans name
KJE this game will do that
so I learned today, first time on, may need to delete the spot... too tempting!
DOn't do that KJE
thanks Herin!
LOLOL, kje--you'll get used to it...
can anyone clue the cy8?
not a Greek Island, own EU country
THanks KJE im stealing that one
beyond that, though, herin, as that got me to a mis-spell of the tree, but not an 8
its the plural of the 6
tr6..and tr7 x 2...please?
thanks, herin!!!!!
Hello everyone
Ooops!....I said thanks ages ago.....lol
back to find my last 67 words
Hi Peri
hi, peri
Hi peri..................anyone have the tr6 and 7's?
Flask sorry i thought you had it ok let me try
thankyou
T between a ???k and a hard place plus a chicken minus the end
TR6 TR+fourth vowel+ a red fruit with a stem ***rry; then double the end vowel for the 7/36, and then, for the last 7/36, take off that vowel and plural the 6/24
its the 1st tr7 am struggling with now....
Got it...THANKYOU!!
:-)
HI there, Scarlet!!!
Hi, peri!! Just sat down... it's been a long, long day! :-) {{Hugs}}
THanks Scarlet that is what i needed
Yea for Lady and hi! :-)
Scarlet, I took my sister to brunch to a new place. She loved it and so did I.
Did you have a wonderful meal, peri? Let me hear your menu, please!
Yes we both did. It was a buffet. They had waffles, pancakes, french toast, bacon, sausages. scrambled eggs, omelets, croissants, bagels.
Ohhhhhhhhh.... what do you pick first? LOL
Evening, all. Whoa! Carbonanza!
and hand sliced roast beef, turkey and ham. Shrimp salad, potato salad, grilled veggies.
Meat... now you're talking my language!! LOL
Oh Peri that sounds yum
fresh fruit, cupcakes and cookies and other cakes
HI Judi
sounds gvreat, peri
Hi Judi!
and also salmon (not lox) which was delicious.
I had a Mimosa first!!
hi folks..how is everyone? (eating lo mein while Babbling isn't that easy...)
Oh, Peri... you wicked wicked woman.
I would have put on 10 pounds with a selection like that... you sound EXACTLY like my sister, peri... she always heads for the Mimosas first too... LOL
Hi there, Krista
I had the omelet after that. I was so glad that she enjoyed it, it being her birthday today.
I love smoked salmon, lox, and regular salmon at brunch!
Hi, pam... me too! :-)
Unfortunately they will only be having the buffet for another week, then they are going to ala carte which will be more money for the customer. Glad we were able to go today.
What a nice experience... you were lucky... and it sounds absolutely wonderful!
Hope you brought your plastic zip bags to the buffet . Just kidding. My MIL does this every time we go to a buffet. We just all cringe in mortification.
It is always a little scary going to a new place
food yes that sounds like a plan
OMG... horrible, Judi...
Judi that is cringe worthy
Judi, is she sneaky about it, or brazen?
no plastic bags here :-). I used to know someone that did that and it was mortifying then too
There is no justifiable excuse to do such a thing in this country...
Yes. That is only before the plastic bag stuffing is preceded by the statement, "make sure the waiter/waitress isn't looking".
Worser and worser...
That steams me.... I would not eat with someone who did that...
OH good lordie
Well, MIL is 85 years old, so we just kind of grit our teeth and look away.
I wondering which is worse...that, or my father..who likes to "get his money's worth!" I guess the stealing is worse.
What else can you do, Judi... she'll never change and she won't get busted even if they do know what she is doing...
Then she is old enough to have lived through the Great Depression... old habits die hard.
i tell my dad he should just cut out the midldle man and pull his chair up the buffet...yes, so did my dad
oh, that makes sense, judi...
I know, Scarlet. Can't imagine her getting the bums rush. Although, I would understand if they ever asked her to leave (sans bag, of course).
There you go, Krista...
The elderly have a slight edge with the service industries... they just can't come down on the older folks... in front of the other customers... makes them look cheap and mean-spirited...
yep, has affected him a lot, that attitude of lack
It's not like she takes a huge amount. She really just eats like a bird. I think it's just too much temptation to load up for "free".
hi there all, looking for a clue for the ro 6/24 please
My mother was a hoarder with certain things... when she died, I found 12 cans of sauerkraut in her cabinet...
Scarlet, when my dad died there were at least 6 cans of saving cream in the bathroom
Hey, you never know when a sauerkraut famine will happen. Yeesh.
She obviously remembered the hard old days...
don't have it aknitter
See, peri? That particular age group had it so tough that they never wanted to be cut short again... sme thing with toilet paper... odd, but harmless...
My late former mother in law (ex's step-mom) hoarded tuna like her parents before her... And she was aproduct of the depression her parents lived through...
thanks peri for letting me know,, will keep looking!
Sounds very familiar, Scarlet! My father buys canned beans every time he goes to the store, because "you'll never starve if you have beans.' And believe me, no one in my family looks like they are going to starve anytime soon!
true, scarlet...
LOl, Judi... that's pretty much what I told Mama... "You must have a terrible fear of the sauerkraut industry going belly-up!" She laughed...
LLOLLL, krista...
Mom made her own sauerkraut...
Beans, tuna... sauerkraut... it's a direct result of the really awful days of rationing and poverty...
Yeah, if those quirks help them feel more secure, I guess it's not a big deal.
exactly... my mom grew up in it
I was just telling my daughter this morning, in fact, that my dad said he often went to school with lard sandwiches in his lunchbucket
mopving right along 41 left
oh my, Lady!!
ro 6 24 if cro7, would be craft looping yarn with hooked needle
can you even imagine that?
LARD SANDWICH?? *arteries contract in horror*
ty nDanLia great clue!
No, I really can't! lol, Judy
And sugar and mayonnaise sandwiches on old, hard bread...
tr 6 - move last letter of ro6 to front
i doubt that... sugar was too dear here
hey a 2-fer great
I remember a kid in grade school who used to bring mustard sandwiches... on Wonder Bread. (HAD to be Wonder Bread).
You're right, LadyN... this was for the Okies during the DustBowl days... and that was a treat...
A la The Grapes of Wrath...
reminds me of Eddie Murphy's Wonder Burgers (when they couldn't afford buns, ate them on Wonder Bread)
first mim6/21 please
To this day, I love baked bean sandwiches on toast, with a touch of ketchup...
baked bean sandwiches? ugh
Mi 6/21 Mi + os4/4
meant first mi6 please
mi 6 cell division
I remember as a kid having macaroni & ketchup with weiner chunks
the texture sounds nice, actually!
The Brits eat beans on toast, Scarlet. Not too far removed from that.
Yep! Also with a dash of hot sauce...
You're right, Judi.. my grandfather was British, and moved to Boston... good combination for the odd family snack...
Lady... My beloved STILL thinks that that is the height of glory... LOL
hehe
well only had time for a quick stopover here in babbleland. Off to visit brother in hospital... it's his 54th birthday today.
Macaroni and Ketchup? we had wagon wheels and ketchup, LOLOL
I hope he's OK, natt...
Hospital? An awful place to spend a birthday, Lady... please send a Babble hug to him!!
thanks much! later, all *poof*
Same difference, pam... as long as it's pasta with some good cheesy sauce, the ketchup is the condiment du jour... LOL
macaroni and cheese with catsup..with salsa...with anything!
evening everyone - you all are making me hungry! And I just finished my sushi!
AND, he loves the Heinz special (LOL) on scalloped potatoes and ham, which I made for this weekend!
LOL, Krista... I don't do it, but beloved is in heaven...
BRB... phone. Drat!
Hi Angela..funny how that happens...I am stuffed on veggie lo mein but...

LOLOL, scarlet.. one pasta is as good as another...

I keep remembering my dad always giving me and my sister butter and sugar sandwiches every time my mom would be out of the house
I know, krista adn angela... I am thinking I may have to eat my burrito soon...

I would occaisionaIly have pickle and peanut butter sandwiches if I were a little tipsy years ago
desperately seeking the se 5/12 and 6/21 combo
er 5/10 is er + snake letter + vowel plus snake letter.
Blah. I just had cherry flavoured cough syrup. Please pass the baked bean sandwiches.
thanks minver, that was it!
sorry, judi
se 5/12 is month before Oct. plus 2 vowels aknitter.
se 5 12 brown color sounds like se + little gren veg (but 3.1427... spelling) + ist vowel
se6/21 is plural of the se 5/12 word I just clued for U
yw lil*monkey
ty kindly for the se words
Does anybody have a clue for last se 6/7 combo yet?
other er 5 10 (pl of word wrongly used in Xwords for irish) er + opp dir of NWN
lalst se 6/7 6 = se + red flower - end letter + 1st vowel
for se7 put the letter you took away at the very end of se6
Thank you guys for the last se6/7 combo.I just got it

Michnick... I have been driven half wild today with phantoms... LOL You're welcome, monkey-shines! :-)
With 167 wds left at almost 1 AM, I am chasing phantoms all over the place. g'night Scarlet
Yesterday's grid was also full of phantom words.I did not finish yesterday's grid like I won't finish today's.
Good night, Michnick!! Be well!
Scarlet, how is beloved today?
Goodbye Michnick! I will see you tomorrow in the log.
byem michnick

Zoe-Anne will be 12 this week
LOL, Minver... haven't seen you in quite awhile. How are you?
first mi6/21 please
Good night Minerv, Scarlet, Pan. They are talking about snow for tomorrow or Tuesday. Maybe I'll even finish a grid.
hi, min--I hadn't even "seen" you, though you have been posting...
Peri, it has been dark, cold and rainy all day, and the weather affects him badly when it is so damp, but he is a total darling, as always... thank you for asking!
Please tell him I said hello, Scarlet. HOw is Phaedra?
I am fine Scarlet.I was incapacipated for awhile, but I'm much better now.I had a little accident last week
Mi+ put little sockses on you baby t*****
sorry, scarlet---sorry he is ill...
oh no, Min!
He has Parkinson's Disease, pam... very mild, but limiting in what he can do, especially his legs, but he is the dearest person I have ever had the honor of loving...
(my hands are FREEZING. the rest of me is fine...)
What happened Min? Poor thing...
(((HUGS))))) Scarlet...
well now i'm stuck on the run of mo's that starts with the mo5,16 and ends with the mo7,40 (2nd one)
I'm surprised you didn't hear pam.News traveled fast here in babble. I was pinned between a bus and a car
Monkey, it rhymes with a koochie-koo dancer... LOL
mi6 cell divison mi + 4th vowel + opp direction NWN
Oh my gosh, Min... how are you now?
thanks Scarlet, got the mi6
thanks NDan
Ouch, Min! Talk about a traffic jam. (Sorry).
As a pedestrian or a driver, MIN? oh, that is so horrid...
OMG, are you okay Min?
Monkey.. it means to be a parasite on other people... like always asking for cigarettes...
what is a koochie koo dancer
Yea, peri...
i am surprised, too, news usually does move through...
Cow sound + **eese is good with elbow macaroni... then add the endings, Monkey
OK! nm, i got all 4 words, thank you scarlet
monkey are you old enough to remember the Love Boat?
Yippety, monkey!!
I am better now. I am a little sore, but getting better
of course! I am 51
nm monkey
why angela/
LOL Judi! :=)
When will you be back to work, min?
hehe - oh! I didn't read your profile :) She was a guest star on that show A LOT. she was a latin dancer
Were you hospitalized, min?
Min, that sounds like a nightmare... what happened to you?
you mean, charo ???
Let me guess, Min... you were on your way to play... Squash?
yep - they always called her the koochie coo dancer
Angela... you make me laugh... Charo was a hoot... and married to Xavier Cugat...
she always made me mental, charo did...
OK i understand that... what does that have to do with the mo5 ???
I was in the hospital for one night. I missed 2 days of work.Everybody said that I was crazy to go back to work though. But I am off next week on winter break
lol - she was a riot. never understood a word she said but...
But a sweet person in spite of her cleavage and over-the-top swivel... LOL
Charo is still around, with the same act, I couldn't stand her years ago and still can't
Min... you are one tough lady!!
Charo was on the Surreal Life not too long ago. Still forgetable.
scarlet's clue at 4:51 I thought meant Charo...no?
wow, min...
As an "act" she was famous for being famous, like Paris Hilton.
LOL, Judi... didn't know that... she is "something" else...
I am with you, peri... never could abide her...
Was trying to get in my car and a city bus came so I closed my door.I was unable to get out of the way in time. That bus slid into me and pinned me to my car.
I agree with everyone's comments :) totally forgettable
No, Angela... cow sound + milk product, **eese, then add the endings...
Oh, Min... that is horrible... where were you hurt?
OMG Min, glad that you are doing better
Oh, that is just horrid, min.
Nobody ever really made fun of Charo for being married to Xavier. She was the Anna Nichole Smith of the 70's.
I guess I must have confused the clues - but you are all welcome for the resulting Charo chatter
they made fun of her for being her... you are right, sort of like anna Nichole...
I think I have internal bruising on my hips and waist.
I hope you can rest this coming week, min...
Major owie, Min. Bet you have some interesting bruises.
and, OUCH... Darned bus driver...
brb - gotta check email
Did you have to go through endless X-rays to make sure that you didn't have any hairline fractures in you pelvis and spinal area, Min?
It was a blessing in disguise, because they took many x-rays of me and they found 2 masses I did not know I had before.I have a mass on my thyroid and one on my pelvis. I have an mri next week and I have to get a biopsy, but have not scheduled an appointment yet.
geesh, Min..glad you are relatively ok! I've always been afraid of that kind of thing happening...close quarters on city streets sometimes
{{{Min!!}}} May a good result come your way, dear lady...
Ditto, what Scarlet said, Min
Wow. Maybe God's way of giving you a "gut check", Min. Weird the way things work out.
one more example of that kind of thing..something odd happening that alerts you to other things..we were discussing that relative to Jellen last week
Exactly, Krista... oh, the great mystery of life...
that is something, min....
I am so glad that I asked you, Min... and thank you for being so honest about the entire situation. You have some gumption and strength...
jellen? Her aneurysm or something else?
Yeah, it's weird. I am not sure I believe in the whole God aspect of the situation, but it's a mystery. Who knows!? Anyway, I just hope everything turns out ok
the pulmonary embolism found when they were doing a pneumonia recheck
I hope so, too, min
Thanks pam!
Oh, thats' right, embolism, not aneurysm...
You will be in my white light/vibration thoughts, min!
is Jellen ok, an embolism is a clot
happened to me twice..my cancer was found during routine x-ray for job, then lung nodule found when I had kidney stone 2 years ago...both turned out fine, but OH the WAITING they put you through
thinking positive thoughts for you, Min
Criminy! Same thing happened to my Dad a few years ago. Thought it was brochitis or pneumonia. Turned out to be 5 emboli in his lungs.
think she is still doing anticoagulants
weird, krista....
Keep us posted, Min, please.
she was on the other day, and don't you know, I forgot to ask after her health...
Yes, they power load you with Coumadin or other anti-coags for that.
Anyway,I have a houseful of company so I need to be a bit sociable. Thanks for your thoughts & concerns!
30 left and getting of this grid but not the company
You ARE being sociable, Min. Oh, you mean with them. See ya!
{{{love your way, Min!!}}}
Feel better soon, Min. Good luck on those test results!
pam Jellen is on facebook
We need to talk Pam into joinging Facebook, Peri.
Hello everyone!
I have 58 left, Peri. The C's are looking rather foreboding.
Yes we do, Krista
Oh, pam, please join facebook with us
***Pounding Krista on the head with a large trout for pulling me into those tests*** LOL
what tests Scarlet
30 left here
That little dickens challenged me to recognizing movies, cartoon characters and movie stars to match against her... Trout pounding required!!
But I couldn't pull you into a Scrabulous game, darn it.
I don't do those things on Facebook
LOOLOLOLLLLL
and I am not good at Scrabble
( and ouch, btw)
but I do play Noggin and Scramble and sometime herd a word on facebook
I would play peri and Krista if I knew what the heck time I would have to play... tonight is for ME... LOL, but I must watch Dexter at 10 p.m. on CBS
my burrito was sub-par. Healthy--from whole foods--but subpar...
Krista do you play Noggin
Dexter.... It premiers tonight, right?

Helloeveryone- what is Noggin?
RE+ metal money Ankh

Scarlet, I can add you to my friend to play NOggin if you want
I can't go on Facebook; I already have no life and shouldn't be on here! :)
Noggin is a word game found on facebook, very addicting
Then the abbreviation for the room with work-out machines, pluralized
its pretty neat that the series is leaving showtime, and coming to regular tv
No, I am friends with musicmom who is Christa
Ypsi, Scarlet, thanks!
Then the last of the four is: to use the metal safety device to close that blouse when the button pops...
how can you play with someone else?
Hello everyone!
Ihad the "s" form of that one... wait, still stuck on working out
do any of you play word game at wordsplay.net?

heh me too. lol
LOL... Enigma...you are totally hooked...
babs, I feel that anyone who wants to cheat at a game isn't worth worrying about
i come on this site from time to time...a lot of times i don't even bother chatting tho'...i just do the grid
I do too sometimes Enigma, when I am rushed otherwise
i mostly come to chat, the game is a plus.
Babs... some people just have a sharp facility to find words very quickly... there are some on this site who just amaze me.... They couldn't have time to cheat...
I know flosey...just wondering because I have been playing word games partly to get my brain seeing new patterns and wonder how others can do so much better...and don't understand why someone would take the time to cheat...

grabbing a few minutes before dinner - i still need 69 words - how's it going out there in babble-land?
ok so is there anyone else with GaiaOnline accounts that wanna be friends?
I have a Gaia account.
thanks scarlet and Dan and any others, took a while to work out which vowels - lol but got them
Niamh!! So good to see you! How is your "new" puppy doing?
Hi, JBV and Cap!!
No? Okay....going once....going twice.......GONE. LOL
Great, flosey!
I don't know what it is, squig.
Capng, whats your username? well thatis, if you want ot be friends..
I'm xcapngx
Squig, is it a free site?
:)
Yes, it's free Scarlet.
Capng, explain what it is...brb
Is it a word game, Cap?
No it's not a word game.
It's a site where you have an avatar and you buy it clothes, accessories, you post on the forums there, you play games, etc...
wow nice profile...and avi do you wanna be friends?
Just what I need... ANOTHER addiction!! LOL Thank you for explaining it to me...
I have a hippie avatar on my Yahoo mail site...
Sure :)
lol yup. it is VERY addicting
I am a product of the revolutionary 60s...and it NEVER gpes away... that's why we live in Asheville!
speaking of addicting games, have you played Scramble on Facebook?
VEry green, very organic, very free spirit here...
ok i asked you. whenever you have time, you should check out my profile.
I haven't. I'm addicted to mind block on facebook though.
HI, sukee... my friends have told me about it... is it a word game?
Scramble is very like babble, except you compete with people. Like Tangleword was
Woot
I am not amazingly competative... I like to take my own sweet time... but Scrabble is another story...
And Boggle...
my competitive strategy is to be neither for nor against apathy
With Scramble you can play live or with friends where you take turns
ok this is sad but i gotta go. =,(
l8ters!
happy trails to you .. until we meet again
LOL, BR-r.... so glad you weighed in... I have to think if I care one way or the other...
It was nice meeting all of you
Later, squigg!
Likewise, Squig.
Bye Squig
ttfn friends have a great eve :)
Until another day, MaMa!!
cya, MaMaWA
Hi again...My grandaughter just felll asleep. I would guess just a short cat nap. So I'm going to try to get a few words in.
Hi, lori ann... we haven't met yet, but welcome to the loonie-bin!
And you went pro!!
hi, lori ann - we'll be quiet so the baby can sleep.....
I'll take off my clunky boots then, JB.
and let's tell the monkey to keep it down - mine are frantically typing away!
thanks scarlet...But could you please tell me what it means to go pro I just saw it and signed for it but yet to find the difference. thanks for the silence JBV LOL
You have a flag, which means that you paid for membership, lori, right?
You can set up a profile & participate in icon themes
Yes I do but what benefits are there.
Anyone have a clue for the first mi6?
Fireworks
You will have access to the stats at all times, will be able to see the fireworks and will have the opportunity to get the advanced Beta game developed by our Australian genius...
good job, flosey!
You also get tile stats and fireworks after you finish a grid. I went pro just to get fireworks and an icon.
Yahoo for flosey!! @@@
I think I'm going to go. I have homework to do and this is very distracting right now.
and congrats, too!
Congratulations flosey on your fireworks! Good for U!
LOL, Cap... see you soon!
kiz, first mi - a kind of pie we have at Christmas
:)
I went pro to support the game...
min, what is that in your icon - a big apple cookie? cake?
bye for now cap
Pam, I didn't have time to thank you for that hug some time ago... I saw it, but chat went flying so fast... Thank you, dear... it meant a great deal to me.!!
I can see I have a lot to learn. I guess the fireworks are for completing a board. I guess I'll have to set my own off for I think it will be along time till I see them here. It's a blast trying though.
That's the spirit, lori!!
The mi 6/21 word is when two cells split apart Kiszah
that's it lori, great fun and good luck
Thank you min!
Sorry Kiz, was giving you first mi word, not mi6
Sure, scarlet! No need to thank me.
mi 6/21 means excessive constriction of the pupil of the eye,as a result of drugs, disease,or the like.Sorry
lori, there are different icon themes daily, and you will learn to love the diversity of ideas that you encounter here, too.
:-) pam.
Oh...well, I got the one I needed from your clue anyway...must have been a good clue!
Scarlet, How do you get icons. I am not good with the computer
good
You know, I have really enjoyed this grid... it went very quickly, but I attacked it in little increments... now I am stuck on the first re5/10 before what you do to an alarm clock!!
JBV, I am not sure what my icon is. I just liked it so I picked it.Tried to click on my profile just now to see it,but it did not work.I didn't really know what to use
Lori ann... there are directions in the profile set-up... believe me, lori, if I CAN learn it, you can learn it... I am so clunky with computers, and many people here are so adept... just ask for help.
thanks scarlet...I'll have to give it a whirl later on.
The re 5/10 means to look at something again Scarlet
OH MY GOSH!! Fish me hard over the head, Min... thank you very much.
hi all. back to see if I can get this finished. still have 195 to go.
Great lori... you will come to enjoy it... HI, Autumn... it's fairly fast today.
refreshed and see your new icon, min... what's the theme?
I need a rest now, I just love it when any of my kids are able to drop in - Alley is much like a whirlwind - tires me out but she is so precious, I love every minute I get to spend with her
Hi Scarlet. I was on earlier - left to watch the race.
nvm--clicked on your icon and found the theme
I know exactly what you mean flosey...
Lori Ann, tell me your hobbies or what you want and I'll make some icons for you. Email me at Ankhorite@verizon.net
Did your guy do well, autumn?
hi, autumn
But I think you do have to "go pro" (pay a little one-time fee) in order to use them.
See lori? There are some pretty terrific people here...
I think you have to "Go Pro" to be able to enter an icon.
min, I like the Big Apple picture whatever it is - I've just spent a few minutes searching for a new image for my icon - but I am kind of hopeless with that sort of thing, so I'll stay with my little red birdie for a while
see you all at flip
finished 9th.
Later, flosey!! :-)
I got mine from an on-line web site.
If lori has the flag, doesn't that mean that she is eligible to have an icon?
I think she said she signed up.
Lori - click on other's icons and see how much info you can add to your profile.
Does anyone have a clue for the sa 6/21 word please
I find most of my pic's on google
any clues for the 8s?
Ankhorite, thanks I may just do that. I have already paid to go pro. I just don't know what I am doing as far as retreiving one. I am not good with this sort of thing.
lori - put your email address in your profile and we can all send you some hints

LOL.. I know the drill, Jandy... and they live forever... this old girl is in great shape, so she might outlive me too!!

Congratulations Jacula on your fireworks!Good for U
we had to put our dog (16 years old) to sleep in March. I didn't realize how much I like having a dog in the house until we didn''t
There you go, Rows... Sacramento: Home of ROWS
Sadly, didn't really help all that much when the inevitable finally happened.
Here rows: Notable people with ties to Sacramento include designer architech Ray Eames, painter Wayne Thiebaud, photographer Michael Williamson, philosopher Cornel West, astronaut Stephen Robinson, U.S. Supreme Court justice Anthony Kennedy, actress Milla Jovovich, record producer Charlie Peacock, and writer Joan Didion. In addition to Huntington, Hopkins, Stanford, and Crocker, the city's more successful entrepreneurs have included Russ Solomon (Tower Records) and Sherwood "Shakey" Johnson (Shakey's Pizza). Actors, singers, rap artists, bands, and other performers with ties to the city can be found under Sacramento entertainers. For sports figures with ties to Sacramento see Sacramento sports figures.
hmm maybe Tom Hanks
That is such a sad, sad moment when we have to do that, pythonx...
he went to Sac State
we all cried buckets
No Python, we were the same. We got a puppy about twelve weeks later. He's five now and the best dog we ever had
hubby says no more pets. when the cats are gone that's it.
Never seen my adult sons cry like that. Knowing it's the right thing to do is pale comfort.
All that talk about "going pro" before encouraged me to shed my ameature (sp?) status as well, but now I'm hungry and need to go eat.
evenin' all - so crazy to start this late, right?
hi
hi herin
Hi herin, hi asgreen

Right... better do some work then back for more!
Part time work
that is what I thought, hope he finds something for you
* crossing fingers for Herin

Jandy - did you get the mint & bird sound clues?
awww nan... it's not so bad
Nan - it's not really as bad as it seems; lots of plurals
Got the latter thanks. And the bird sound is actually an Aussie word for a call the bushmen make...not a true Babblet!

shame, hillary, shame... grin...
go, agz!
Christmas itself in Melbourne was a bit chillier than we planned for, but by the next couple of days it was very warm. We loved Melbourne. We have some extended family there (my brother in law's family) so we really felt welcomed. My kids really travelled well - it was a great great experience!
nDan, can't get your clue on the er 7/8... brain addled due to not using lickety..

What the heck does that word even mean??? Half the stuff on these puzzles I'm not convinced they're even words.
An enzyme complex found in intestinal and pancreatic juices that functions in the breakdown of polypeptides into amino acids.

It's a love it or hate it thing, dawg.. one of the culinary divides!

asgreen... mi+ a doctor will make several diagn****
thx lady!
yw :)
dc, why?
Hmmm... only got one he6/27 and seems unlikely, but can't see what it would be..
because it let me research one general topic for my Spanish, English, ad History classes, so i focused on Spanish history, spcefically the Inquisition, which grew into the Inquisition beyond the one in Spain.
there's a study for the he7/27?
er..6/27?
which, to the credit of Rome, Rome revoked sponsorship of the inquisition in Spain in 1512, as Rome found it was being used politically, not religiouslyp.
wow, bet that took you down some interesting roads.
Makes sense now!
i was on he 6/21 for 10 years
indeed so, dawg. The means of torture alone wore utterly fascinating. It's amazing what people will do to each oher.

strange chat to come in on--the inquisition, dc? You mean the Spanish, Portuguese, N African and etc?
ty, asgreen. fever brokes, so worst is over; i hope :)
hey dc
I've been in and out all day - back again for 56 more - can anyone clue me in on the y word in the top row, please?
French, Spanish, North African, German, Roman... yes
ye6day, all my troubles seemed so far away...
Those OTC cold + cough meds are of questionable benefit, and certainly have significant side effects, so you do not have to take that stuff, Seain.
not today, buy ye - shortened
Just rest, hydration + analgesics, that's all to do, Seain.
yes i know scrabbs. i usually go to them as a last resort, for a few days. Debating letting my prof know that i won't be at class on tuesday. a fever of 102 left me quite unable to study.
done lots of rest and hydration; what use the analgesics?
I can write you a doctor's note, Seain.
thank you, asgreenblatt
Analgesics relieve pain, aches.
scrabs--what drug were you saying is your fave? I came in to the chat at a weird time?
First se5-6 combo?
yw
no aches nor pains this flu, but for briefly last tuesday.

any AM clues except am 4/5
zeth
oops, wrong box for trying words....
a + where you would find gold
hey, for those of you in the States, for a trip to urgent care, a flu test and a strep test, does $185, 100% out of pocket, seem reasonable to you?
there are 2 am4/5's swill
I keep trying to make the letters spell spam
no
if you have the one that is like a french friend, the others build off of the am4/5
but it sounds like what the hospitals would charge if you went to the ER
and guess what, they wont !!
i was expecting it to be twice that, based on what i know here. and here, urgent care and emergency room are interchangeable for most things.
Spam doesn't work anyway
i can't imagine getting out of a hospital ER for that little.
yeah i know
rows, you mean it sounds like your life savings and everything you own?
I know spam doesnt work, but I keep trying.....
eh, sounds about average to me
but it doesn't sound like a small amount
NUTTY !!!!!!
lol no
that does seem less than I thought, dc... but, don't you have insurance?
P-break
i mean it's more than they should charge
AUSSIE!!!
o's are nearly grey - who can help with or 5/12, please?
no, pam, not at present; plant to buy this week
and when i had ins, still woulda been 75 out of pocket for urgent care/emergency room
well, peri and I seem to have found the strategy - ask for a clue, then find it! got the or 5
How goes you Nut ?
from what i'm familiar with, they charge $100 flat fee just for going to the ER
gotcha, dc...
insurance you mean, rows?
ize gozing aussie, you? still listening to b-cast?
no, the hospital
! goodnees, where you live costs must be much, much lower than here
yep, when I can..... not been there for a while, been a busy bee, working and stuff with family going on....
i live in california
anyone have EA clues?
hm, that could do it too, CA regulates things more than states here in the East
nevermind
ea4 into it, swill
and i was speaking of a flat fee just for stepping foot in the ER... add on a flu test, etc. and it goes up
i have a 100 copay for er...dunno what other costs run to
last i saw my ER bill, 8 years ago, it was 300 plus radiology
going to list with 46 left. Thanks for the clues!
yeah, eva i think that's the word i was looking for... copay
love the recent pic on BCast Nutty, complete with action men too !!
what i'm talking about is probably cheaper cos my mom has insurance
reading about your medical costs - glad I live in Canada!
me 2
i've had to take her in there before on occasion cos she has cancer and she'd have an emergency every now and then... and that's what would happen, $100 copay plus whatever else
thanks aussie, someone refused to redo the page for me, she said that picture was offensive and wouldn't touch it
my brother is in hospital now... it's his 54th birthday today... all paid for
autumn, in fairness, i live in the 3rd most expensive metro eare in the continental US
Its a funny pic Nut !! Had to laugh at it....
wi5 18 clues please?
well thank you, i'll be sure to email her and tell her about its popularity
but, dc, the US won't go to a national medical insurance system. I pay a very minimal amount per month and everything is covered....no paying in ER or for surgery or anything. And the wait time is not long.
didja like the squirrel playing soccer vid?
may i have a clue for the fifth co 5,12 please?
Almost like, **sets the scene**.... No Job too big, if you cant do it, then someone should call, "The Squirrel Team" **now imagine the A-Team music playing in the background**
wi6/30... most sage
yes, autumn, i understand that, just making the point that the region i live in is markedly more expensive than most. :)
autumn, we know that from talking to you, but the insurance companies have so much staked in killing us financially, the put it out that your canadian healthcare is awful
nutter butter
ty lady
renner tenner!!
nm i figured it out
do you have a holiday tomorrow?
I do... have a holiday that is
i do, i'm helping my friend clean and pack up her house
Hey Rennie !!!!
me 2 natts
hey aussie
it's a regular day off for me tomorrow; holidays are irrelevant to my schedule :\ncooee
I had abdominal surgery. My friend had the same surgery in Texas. Mine cost me $35 a day for the telephone and cable TV. Her bill was over 85K and her insurance covered 84K. And she waited 8 months for hers, I waited just under 3 month
How goes you m'dear ?
and... I have health care that might not be perfect... but will care for my brother who has absolutely no income and is in hospital right now
i', trying to decide if i want to move into my parent's hosue as part of my inheritance
oooh.... souinds like a hard choice ?
fireworks for me
yeah sean - that's nice to have a holiday
trust me lady, many many americans are for the national healthcare, but it won't happen with the corruption
yahoo, angelina!!

I won't say anymore on that.
hi tyger
hey tyger...
renfield, sounds like an interesting dilemma - are your parents still living and planning to leave you the house or are they deceased?
yo, ange, aussie
yay, ange
i want the bigger house - it's just not centrally located for stores etc -i may need to toss a quarter
yay, angelina!
jbv they are deceased - it's part of their estate
don't see you as often since your shift change, DC. howarya?
wanna toss a texas quarter?
probably so, evanonut, but I can't imagine life without our healthcare system... It has its downfalls, but really, when push comes to shove, it does the job... no matter what scale of the line you are in
i owe you a texas quarter still nutter on the bet we made on when percy would be born
alright, tyger, good to see you :)
clues for the ps pls?
getting over flu, but otherwise well i am
back when I never thought I'd be disabled, I planned to move to
my condolences, renfield - but are you deciding to live in the house as opposed to selling it?
you don't have to convince me lady, i want your healthcare system!
oops Canada when I retired
brb - i have dryer duty tonight
oh renner, i forgot about that quarter
I don't think they'd have me now
lol.. alrighty then..
i don;t mind delling it - i could use the $$$$$ - or i could move there and sell my house - more $$$$$ less room
*er selling
anybody clueing? I'm able, if needed. 'course, I won't be here too long
i'm a fan of less room, less room less work
tyger, we'd take you
ps clues pls?
I'm disabled now, natts, and only disability income
still trying to figure out how to clue those ps's
ps + 3 vowels... both of them
ps clues: these words are over-blessed with vowels. AAMOF, all of the other letters are vowels
they differ only in the last letter
only way is letter by letter, I think :(
tyger, disabled is a misnomer... if you can play babble, you are not disabled, as far as I'm concerned
well, my happy babble family, I am falling asleep at my laptop, not a good idea to drop it !! I will say adieu, and wend my weary way to bed. Night night friends and family.....
1st ps: ps + t*d*y is Sunday, h*re
is cathyar on anymore? i've not seen her here in ages
not able to work, Natts
later, aussie
yeah, hubbynut is disabled and he can still annoy me
work at what? you have a brain.. you have fingers that work (I assume)
ciao, aussie
thx for the ps, toughie
thanks for the hint that those babblet ps's are in the grid...

I have the first se 6/18, but need the 6/18, 7/28 combo - clues, please?
you sound like my brother. I'm not capable of working...in his case, his hands are crippled. His brain is not. Nor is yours.
i have a chronic pain, i call him hubbynut
se6/7 combo: se + Valentine flower - change last vowel
LOL, nutty

dingy what, nutty? :D
w/ their ipods and drugs
aww tyger... I don't mean to demean your troubles... I just want to inspire you to do what you can do (and right now, babble... i.e. words... is a start)
and there are half a zillion Cs in this grid
dingy tyger, you know, like a little boat...no ipods, just drugs...ipods cost too much, give'em a book of crosswords instead
That was my estimation, tyger!
I keep trying to get discipline enough to write, but if I get going with that, I certainly won't have time to Babble :P
he he he...found my favorite er4
nutty, it's dinghy ;)
yea yea yea smartass...trust me....when i put them in it, it'll be dingy
have a good night, all... Am tired and working tomorrow...

The stuff like "se 4,4"
I don't understand what that means.
Nascar and Baseball is what Summers were all about, when we weren't in the woods.
se, 4 letters, 4 points, chaotic
CB, means four letter word, beginning with se and worth four points, according to the point value on each tile
se 4 4 is southeast wins at 4 knots and 4 ft waves
