I love daylight savings time.......getting dark now after 20:00 hrs
rotten, 1Mar, to be honest. Been sick for weeks now, not getting over a flue. Went to the doctor's yesterday and the cure is: rest, vitamines, rest, day/sunlight, rest, lots of water, rest. I felt like my blood pressure was back to everest size, but we checked and it is perfect... all the sh*t is due to that flue.
at the height of summer it will be dark at almost 22:00 hrs!

Elsh, there is something I learned along the way with all my doctor's visits. Maybe it can be a little support to you: YOU are the expert. They may have studied thousands of hours, but not on you. You are the one with 20, 30, or more years experience in what ai4 you, what is normal and what is not, what will work and what will not, etc. A doctor's appt should be a dialog between two very different but equally good experts.
i agree with that. i have had it for years too. they don't do much for it. but some times are better than other times.
yes Elsh.......that is the way it is for her too, but marked in good days/bad days .....not times..

Yeah, I agree with that Sprite, and thank you. I am going to ask for specific treatment/meds that I know help for the allergies and asthma. Unfortunately there haven't been any breakthroughs for what helps with Fibro.
btw, BabbleRabble has been one of my teachers along that way :)
It's frustrating that no doctors seem to understand very well, Just...hopefully they will with time. I have an aunt with it too. Terrible the way it runs our lives.
My sister has terrible migraines, muscle and joint pains, arthritis, ......I feel for ya Elsh

yeah, there are men with the condition too. i'm definitely fortunate that i didn't have it in a time when it was viewed like that.
the good thing is, once it has been recognised as a 'real' illness (like anyone would allow a fake one to ruin his life, duh), you know people are looking for meds. It may take time, but there might be a breakthrough any moment as well.

I'm convinced that stress (past and/or present) is a major factor
that could be true, i had a very stressful upbringing. i also still have problems with stress.
i have been sitting hear reading the chat trying to think of the right thing to say and there really isnt a right or wrong thing so im gonna say a positive thing instead lol
I believe that great stress lowers the immunes system and thus allows different viruses to invade the body and turns the immune system against itself
in anything you do in your live your success is only defined by the boundaries you create
the trauma caused by very long and early periods of extreme stress (and fear) is something that the medics start taking more serious too. There is a lot of damage that can be measured now, like abnormal cortisol levels and reactions.

chronic illness is a predictor of emotional problems -- too often, emotional health is not a part of the treatment for the chronic physical one

someone once told me that it is important to always make it so that you succeed. If you cannot, for instance, do the cooking, don't allow yourself to fail at cooking. Break up the task in small steps. Like: deciding what to eat. Step one. And you succeeded in that one. Next step: make a shopping list. And succeed. Next step: find someone to get it for you. Etc. Make the steps so small you WILL succeed, and tell yourself you succeeded every time.
i just mean that sometimes i come in and say hello and no one will say anything.. but not maliciously ignored, no.
ELsh, would NEVER ignore you. And shyness is a tough thing... will watch your entries with extra care and make sure you don't feel ignored, ok?

1Mar, the main thing is, that you will be there for him. All the rest is extra. If going out in public is that hard for you, please try and find everything and anything that might help, like company to stay with you all day, so it will be a little less hard.

I just got back from grocery shopping with my father-in-law. Mother-in-law has been recouping from new knee for 5 weeks and she comes home tomrrow! We're all excited.

Anyone who tries this game at all deserves congratulations, particularly if English is not their first language! I applaud everyone for trying..chat is often helpful, we clue nearly every word by the end of the day. I, personally, rarely do the grid without lickety's list. Might be lazy, but it keeps me focussed.

kls, that is the trick of the enable dictionary. It often doesn't take words that many people think of as common, but then accepts half the french, italian and latin languages!

Velma: You can get lots of clues: click on the tiny green link at the bottom for Lickety's Babble Clues Lickety gives you the first two letters of each word, plus how many letters in the word, plus the word's point value The point value sometimes helps you figure out if you need a word with a high-scoring letter in it, and things like that
a's = hurts, wedding row, then 8 ax words
And it helps if you look at Help. Sometimes the players don't have time to give you the info which is there
