I bought the Sealy memory foam mattress in Oct 2006. There are already 2 definite dips with a hill in the centre of it. It also retains heat really well, which isn't a good thing at this point in my life. We'll look for a thick pillowtop one.

Tradionally, kids are allowed up very early and then go out to make lots of noise... with cans behind the bicycle, loud horns, etc. Also traditionally they 'punish' the very very lazy people with eggs or butter against the windows.

I had been determined to go, firstly as a mark of respect to those who died, secondly because I've always had an interest in that period in history.
I had read and seen quite a lot about Aushwitz, so some of the exhibits weren't quite as shocking as they might have been if I had come on them unprepared.
I know I was physically sick when I visited the Hiroshima Peace Park... and I was only 15 at the time - I didn't know much then.
As it is, the museum is established to make it a place suitable for children/young people to visit, so there isn't anything ostensibly gory. It's incredibly sad though.
People I know were all glad they went.

I know Scrabbler, and we knew it then, too, but we watched very carefully for signs of the mother for two days and they seemed to be suffering not thriving (becoming more still, not moving much, etc.) so we tried to give them water or milk, left them in place, did not move them, but next morning, too late ! a cat found them!

well, actually, we do get to see how intelligent they are in the wild - they outsmart us at keeping them away from the birdseed!
I didn't keep it as a pet for long - we ended up moving to a gorgeous wooded area a few months later, and we felt it was old enough to look after itself. It stuck very close to the house for the first few months, but wandered further the more comfortable it got.

I know you've said before that they are very private creatures, but will the others likely be affected by Callie's absence? I don't mean to pry, but I find your "rabitat" fascinating.
My next step, when I am ready soon, is to do some rearranging, furniture purchasing and painting downstairs here. It has been "bunny-proofed" and now I can change things.
Callie was a downstairs bunny only, although up until several weeks ago she would follow me upstairs and "visit" each boy through the gates.
But I have never had "bonded" bunnies. Jacula and Loredana's bunnies have had to grieve when their mates died.
That sounds adorable, Scrabs. I have only had my hamster for two weeks, but have already learned all his tricks for attention. He will do remarkable things when he feels his Mum has not loved him enough in one day!

When my Katy-kitty had to be put down quite a few years ago (she was 11) I was in shock. I was only 13 so didn't understand why the docs didn't make her better, but instead killed her. My father built her a beautiful coffin and I held a funeral..I've not dealt with the loss of a pet very well since then. My heart goes out to you Scrabbler.
