Hey, did you folks know that adults should get a diptheria shot every ten years? I didn't know that. Stepped on a really yucky skewer yesterday and went for a tet shot and they gave me diptheria too.

Yeah, it's HOT, and Walter always has trouble falling asleep on hot nights, then makes up for it in the morning. And he didn't nap yesterday. And his evening was spent entertaining a room full of urgency-post patients. Then he had a big couscous dinner.

I will do OK--I can put this into perspective. One of our kids from the practice died on March 18th (age 4, Influenza killed her), so I know there are "worse" types of grief.

The tough part was, we were moving and he wasn't eating. He was diabetic so I was trying anything to make him eat. He always ate dry food, but just this once I gave him wet. Hindsight I guess.

I can never understand why cats are recommended as pets for old people. Yes, I know they don't need walking twice a day but dogs don't trip people over as much as cats do. Cats think it is funny to suddenly shoot out of doorways across your path, or to wind around your legs until you fall, or (their very favourite trick), to lie in wait near stairs or steps to trip you.

The friend with the false leg was walking his dog in his local park area, in the hope of seeing the female park ranger he fancied. Her Landrover appeared not far away and my friend got ready to look like 'cool dogwalking man'. His dog smelled the ranger, whom he, also, liked and wound his lead around my friends legs, knocking my friend to the ground and then charging off, ripping his false leg off in the process. Far from being 'cool dogwalking man', my poor friend ended up being rescued by the lady park warden and she had to hand him his leg back.

I like tuna, mayo, celery, green onion, Old Bay seasoning, ground pepper mix in a filone bread sandwich -- yum

Recipe for Sweet Pepper Relish -Sweet Pepper Relish * 12 sweet green bell peppers, cored and seeded * 12 sweet red bell peppers, cored and seeded * 12 medium onions, peeled * 4 cups apple cider vinegar * 2 cups sugar * 2 tablespoons pickling salt Cut peppers into strips and quarter the onions. Put vegetables through the coarse blade of a food grinder or chop in a food processor. Put the vegetables into a heavy kettle and pour boiling water over them to cover. Let stand 10 minutes, then drain. Add the vinegar, sugar and salt to the vegetables. Mix well. Bring to a boil and simmer for 20 minutes. Pour into clean jars while hot and seal. Makes 10 pints.

They take sewing thread and twist it around and use it to pull the hairs out. Like tweezing, but better, and better than waxing because it lasts longer. I get my eyebrows threaded now
LOL - I think eyebrow weaving may be for gals like me that made the mistake of overplucking in the 60s or 70s and then shaving them off. (They never come back right!)

So my only advice is to indulge any need for sleep and if you have pain stay on top of it with regular pain killers rather than let it get out of hand. I did put some easy meals in the freezer before and they have been very handy but now I am well able to cook!
