I told him the very same, lyn! It even takes a bit of the load from me, knowing he has a professional helping him and not just his wife. She also adviced him some things I would have forbidden him, lol. So all for the better.

Sometimes I feel like I am not meant to get over this. Every time I start feeling like I am getting my head a little above the waves, some new crisis comes up and hits me down again.

I understand that and I used to wonder if I were ever meant to see light and beauty... but, I did and I do.

we've been out walking - about 20 miles a weekend and having a sensible meal regime that might seem a bit limited to some but it worked. hubby decided to eat veg - for about the first time in his life - i even managed to get him to eat peas!

losing weight steadily and slowly is much better than fast. And losing it through sensible eating and moderate exercise is the best way of all.
elder, to answer your earlier question, I don't drink, so I don't know about that, but I do know that my meds enable me to live as normal a life as possible
i was nearly 20 stones ive lost a stone but im tall so i need 2 lose about 6 stone im just looking at it that every pound off is a pound not going on
due to back, my movements are restricted and putting on weight, it does not help with my worth of self , i am now two sizes bigger since Nov 2007 aah!!

same here, elder, I cannot do most exercise due to pelvic damage. Has been this way for 10 years+ now. Am way too heavy, but not caring much atm.

as far as I know, they do, elder. Your body needs some time to adjust to the medication. But after a couple of weeks or months it usually stabilises.
(I have serious pain meds, antideps and meds against high blood pressure. Couldn't drive at first. Now I drive and all is well.)
Swimming, was my main exercise and i loved it, but alas can do no more... against advise i did try once ( thinking water floats you and protects from pain) wrong !! was in agony for days afterwards ..

swimming with a bad back is not easy. You will have to swim sideways or on your back the whole time. Also, getting in and out of the water and getting undressed, dry and redressed are taxing.
I tried swimming for a couple of months, then had to stop.

one thing i was told by my doc at the hospital was that if you're overwiehgt you dont have enough vitamen d. Apparantly you still make it but it stays in your fat and you end you lacking in it - it also speeds up metabolism

blue - is the diabetes under control? Sounds as though your insulin is off base - that's what usually causes sever weight loss

In the 80s CBS ran a great show on the different reasons people smoke, and had a test you could take. My reason was oral gratification. And I found a cigaretee substitute called Paipo, made in Japan -- they were plastic cigs which dragged like a real one and had a menthol flavour. Those, combined with Nicorette gum (there were no patches then) got me over the hump. Then I switched to regular gum (horrible habit too, banned from my childhood) and eventually got rid of that too.

well I open up reg babble at the flip.....do as much as I can without the list.....then with babble still open, I open up Babbleexpert, which seems to go in tandem with reg babble....then
oh i like to try it alone first!
I just click on the otp where it says "send words to clues" and that does it automatically
then I finish (hopefully) the grid in BabbleExpert and the video comes on once you've gotten fireworks

I don't us Lickety expert very often, but I do have a link to the fireworks vids.
I do it that way cause when I click on reg babble to open it...my name and password are stored there......but can't seem to get that to work with BE..and being the lazy fool that I am....lol
I never log out. so when I open expert, I am already signed in
lol that's smart.....but if I do that then the list is there and I don't want it there til I'm desperate for it!

I just opem Babble, checl thechog to see who's around and close it if there are too many clues flying around. I then attack the grid untril 20 words are remaining, or less if it's a titchy grid. Then I open up a chog to see what clues have been given and then, only then, I might ope BJ'd or Lickety's list after thay. If it all still evades me, I'll then check out a2z or morewords.
