Yeah,it's only two toes and they're not huge, just swollen enough to really feel that they are and that had me concerned, so I'm glad my dr. saw me yesterday. And this is sandals weather, and luckily I always wear wide comfortable shoes anyway, except like to teh opera, which happens ever few years when there's a new Greenaway.

I think you do adapt. I spent 6 months outside in the Philippines at 40+C a few years ago, and I swear it altered my body's way of dealing with heat. I've never been truly warm again

as they need crane experience it is not something you can get a temp for easily, when i employed him my other driver who had been with me 18 years stayed 3 extra weeks to teach him how to use the crane, which ofcourse meant i has to pay 2 for the price of one for that time

shake, nod, be sympathetic and listen? :) It is not abnormal for teenagers. Very important the parents are clear about it not being acceptable at ALL.

ah sprite, you have hit the nail on the head... what is going on that her kid has to feel the adrenaline of stealing?? the kid explained that she needs to do it to 'feel' something... that kind of freaked me out
none of us know when our kids or now for me grandkids will get into trouble, there but for the grace of god go i is a great thought
I like the word 'objectionable'... it kind of describes alot of what these kids do... but can't think of a word to sort them out and help them
something like depression could be at the heart of it. Hard to tell from a distance. But going for thrills is not uncommon for a teenager. Some go to extremes, like she, and finding what causes it is very important. But that is for the parents.
it is a very judgemental word though, mrP. I don't think the parent will feel supported by that word. Perhaps you could talk about your friend's feelings, and not about the child itself?
My son was having trouble with (school) authority when he was about 15, he went to a psychologist, he got a lot out of it and got a lot off his chest as well as understanding himself better. Maybe your friends daughter could benefit from someone (unconnected) like that MRP....and hi everyone
