hi flosey :)
hi sprite, how are all today; nice to say your name again
hello sprite, hope you are feeling better
hi nDan, it WAS irksome yesterday, wasn't it :)
hi sandy, not yet, bad virus and longduring. But it will pass.
never mind it can't go on forever. I am better, so you can live in hope!
Hi sprite
yay sandy! Glad you got it behind you. Am trying to relax and just take my time, knowing it is nothing serious, just unpleasant :)
well, down to 23... the rest will have to wait till tomorrow, can barely keep my eyes opened. goodnite all
hi Hugs! *hugs Hugs* (I so love doing that) Sleep well!
200
goodnight hugs
how are you all doing? Good grid?
nit hugs
hi sprite -- I love your word-inventions from time to time. You said "longduring" -- we say "longlasting" but I like yours :)
night hugs
hi jilli *hug* lol, I had the stupidest last night in the profile, just saw it in time: the one that 'springs' to mind, in stead of jumps... Dutch for jump is spring, grin.
things do spring to mind!
do they? Really? Ok! (feels less stupid now)
I'd use springs to mind way before jumps to mind
[would say jumps out..., but still less oftem]
lol... so I should change it back, even? Thanks, both of you, I keep learning thanks to you.
sprite, you are FAR from stupid, stupid!
at the moment nothing is springing or jumping to my mind
did you get the highland dance word - that has plenty of jumping
thanks jilli, lol
hm, not yet, thanks nDan

ohhhhh I am sorry! Had not seen the Y yet, argh. PB for me...
[ the song is what jilli wrote, but the le4 is gen. pronounced same; thats what started the songs, then finding the me4 right after]
am loving the company this morning :) Anyone who wants something from the PB? Coffee, tea, fresh fruit juice... Pancakes, chicken legs, toast?
how silly of me, nDan. My kids would tell you I am a living jukebox, hit a button and I start singing. Will take better care of what I post next time :)
Sprite, that is the same here - mention a word and I will sing a song about it- my kids try to kill me all the time!!
there was an interesting book combining linguistics & songs giving women the ability to survive a future mini ice-age [also ahd some other interesting themes], will have to remember it....
lol sandy, mine too!
sounds good, nDan!
ok, profile adapted... 'springs' is back and I added some personal info too. Was too tired yesterday.
since I have become a computor expert I look forward to reading other profiles and renewing mine.
love your icon and profile again, sandy, thou wizened computor wizard!
Suzette Haden Elgin Native Tongue (1984), The Judas Rose (1987), Earthsong (1993)
Thanks sprite - it's all very educational
thanks nDan, have written them down!
a group of women in the book survive in a luddite-style society, but are really hoodwinking the men & biding their time for the coming changes... read it about 14 years ago
love your icon and profile too, jilli!
I love to have this list of books yet to read. Thanks nDan.
i splurged a few years ago & bought the hobbit & lotr on cd s for long car trips; we usu listen to them every 12-18 months
great story jilli
that is so nice, nDan! Good thinking!
thanks, sandy!
and sprite
yw jilli, you are still the real Queen of Icon Stories, you know :)
back again, and amen to that sprite
Aww, the Queen of Bores to some, probably!
Aww, the Queen of Bores to so4, probably!

more mistakes, flosey?
not likely, jilli, you are never boring.
We have all AA Milne books - they were a part of growing up for us
no, just checking the addition
And I read Hiawatha over and over too, sandy
yay, found a 7/8 combo all by myself :)
My mother who was brought up on a sheep station and did not go to school until she was 10 years old, read all the classics to us
she sounds like a special lady, sandy
She has an amazing knowledge of words and grammar

She is amazing and comes from a family of eight (not catholics) who have all done very well in life. I feel it is their strong family bond that has helped them along the way
wtg Dan
wtg nDan! Congrats!
They were raised without phone, electricity or cars, it was too remote where they lived
not easy, but lots of time for eachother, I think, sandy. And for the important things in life.
ty
often think about the things we've lost in modern life, yes we have many things better, but not all [mom only went to about equiv of 5th grade & went shoeless to school, and though houses/barns had lights, still outhouse in the '70s at granny's]
My favourite improvement is dishwashers and washing machines
I agree. Many things are really better, and much easier now, but other things have gone lost. Life is fast nowadays, and it isn't easy to create some peace and quiet in family life. We try, though.
that's not correct english i realise
but you still make yourself very clear, sandy :) And I agree.
washing machines even more important than dishwashing.
We have a lovely dam at the back of our property and we often have luncheons down there with friends and family and I think it is such a serene place
I still read with my kids every morning, we read english books now, and we will sit on the couch, with me in the middle. It is fun, cosy and a great form of sharing. And old fashioned and ridiculous, as I was told recently... I think I like being oldfashioned and ridiculous then ;)
Fresh air and countryside
lovely, sandy. Sounds so pleasant.
Sprite - whoever said "ridiculous" must be missing half their life
2nd that
yup, I guess so, sandy. Was the same one who claims our kids are scared of us, so we don't really value her opinion much :)
I'm off to bed, goodnight all, be back in the morning
It is very obvious to me that those people must be sad people
nite flosey
as long as the kids and I all love it, I think it is the best we can do. Also evenings without television, with games or chat or just lots of cuddles. Winter evenings without electric light, just candles. It is so good, at least we think so.
nite flos
sleep well, flosey, I hope you will sleep easy and restful.
thank you sprite, you are so sweet
All this gets me thinking, I must collect our eggs, feed the chooks, horse and cow
*hugs flosey*
you are living close to nature as it is, sandy! Much more than we do, in Holland.
hugs back
Sprite, we were not allowed tv during the week and used to play games etc. it was great!
Where we live is only 17mins from the CBD but it is like being in the middle of the country
bbl
I bet, sandy! It is so nice to really spend some time together, being in contact. Watching TV etc is fun, but it is rather solitary. At least, that is how I feel.
bfn, sandy

I want to buy an i.

Good morning fellow readers.........a clue please for fr5/16...1st one!

I think so too, jilli. My son has started highschool this year and he still wants to do it... that is saying a lot :)
yay jilli!
*giggle* Hubby has driven a call center lady mad with his toothpaste speech.
good for hubby -- that's so hilarious!
he is terrible, but it is SO funny, lol
this grid is not too bad, so far. I'll probably bite my tongue soon, though.
so far so good here as well, jilli
good morning everyone:)
morning jean :)
hello jean
hi Sprite. Jilli, et al...just finished!...been doing laundry
wtg PAV! Well done, on both counts.
YAY pav!!!
congratulations PAV3:)
first 100 words in 20 mins, the rest in the past two hours....
yeah
lol yes, sounds like babble to me
yawns coming on, guess i'll bow [not me4 ;)] out; gl evy1 & have great day
hehe, no re words :)
bye nDanLia:)
you too, nDan, and sleep well!
night nDan -- happy yawns
that is certainly helpful, jilli :) I still need one V though.
sitz is not found in the dictionary -- never heard of a sitz bath?
Hello everyone and ((HUGS)) to all
lol jilli!
Hello meliae:)
hi mel :) Sitz is a kind of fabric, to me. Must be a dutch word.
grid looks interesting, diving in!
hi mel
got to go, need to taxi my daughter around lol, bbl, Happy Babbling everyone:)
see you later, jean!
night Jean....hi mel...which v word u missing Sprite...the containers or the presidential b udget line out...
I have the 'no way it is gonna happen' word.
thanks, found the other one, the containers :)
am a bit surprised the NO word cannot be pluralised.
like potatoes, it has an e...but don't tell Mr. Quayle, for mer Veep...!!
oh, of course! Another obscure rule, to me anyway, when it must have an E. Some words can have both spellings, it is so confusing. In babble I just try it all, lol.
ve
the tw7 and 8 are also humdingers...wouldn't have guessed those in a million...
lol jilli.
PAV, I have seen those mentioned, but I haven't been able to find them yet.
I don't know how that got there -- must be tired!
can' t remember tomorrow's theme...anyone?
you are over halfway, jilli... si4 tends to slow down considerably after that with big grids.
is it still monday for you, PAV? Then it is favo male author.
I've noticed that, sprite
it'll be Tuesday in a few moments...
for wednesday it will be favo dish, with recipe to Kiwi please!
Good morning afternoon evening Babblers
might be one reason it is easier to typo, jilli. I did it a couple of times too lately.
oops...it already is! oh goodie! food food food food food! which to pick, and share...hmmmmm? Hi lore!
hiya lobo *hugs and earscratching*
hi there PAV Hugs Princess
hehehe PAV... for today then: the favorite male author. Am looking forward to your recipe in a day, though!
hi lore
the grid is looking friendly! lol
hello and Hugs jilli
so far it has bee, lobo. But I still need about 70 more words!
I have 68 left
lokking looking no Cs!!! yay
no Cs, no Ks, no Re words :)
wahhoo!!! Sprite
ok then...off to bed...have a good day all! ciao! tw7 and 8...think pairs, as in people, ya know? only with A diff vowel...*poof*
yay jilli well done
thanks PAV, and sleep well!
goodnight Pav and Poopies see you next time take care
found them, thanks again!
i want twosome!!! nah not far! lol
lobo, only one vowel different...
night pav and thanks
yes, someone said Scottish a while ago
nearly nearly PB thanks sprite
I heard it was related to folk dance. Scottish or Irish indeed.
I remember, so I kept thinking twist, lol!
lol yes, I have been trying to find that one too. Yay, another E7/8 combo! Found a compound by myself, woot.
yay sprite!!
you feeling any better today
not really, lobo :( It is an ugly virus. Am keeping myself very calm and at rest, want to get this over with as quick as possible.
yes dont blame you sending very big hug and a healing energy to lift you up
thanks lobo :)
your welcome sprite
oh my, I have found 5 x 8 and both 9s by myself. A feverish mind has its pros, lol.
sprite do you feel el7/8 yet?
or maybe your on a el8/9
as long as I don't have to travel with el9!
52 left and have run out of steam (quaint analogy, come to think of it) -- should be doable tomorrow, so I'm off to bed -- night all.
no flies on you sprite hope that translates correctly
goodnight jilli sleep well see you next time
not sure, lobo.
have fun -- *poof*
night jilli, sleep well and lots of pleasant dreams :)
have you heard that saying just means your quick and clever not slow and dumb!! lol
ah, no I didn't know that one! Thanks lobo :)
very imagery!
because if you havent heard it it could sound like an insult but it is a compliment'
yeah, I was thinking of cow droppings, giggle.
as if i would say that to anyone especially you! lol
you might... you have a big warm loving heart, but also a wicked sense of humour :) And I love both.
thats twice now so close to PB
what for someone to call you cowdung!!!
no never!!!
I know, lol. But because you said NO flies, I thought it might be a kind of compliment anyway.
morning all
i
hi there carlee lovely to see you here
hi lore... sprite
hi carlee, good morning. busted, kklin :) i to you too.
shalom kkiln
shalom loredana
do i WANT to try today's grid?
it seems okay so far carlee
oh yes, carlee. It is a very nice one. And fast.
its that whole TIME thing
i SHOULD go back to bed
argh, don't I know it. So many totally unimportant things tend to take up so much time. Like work. Housework. Bills.
and sleeping. Especially sleeping.
yes sprite they do dont they wish we could just delete them
me too, lobo! Am longing for a simple life.
nice to just pack up and " head for the hills " another saying
very attractive one.
can't you sleep, carlee, or don't you want to?
i just found mr ruru in the grid
woke up
I've been fasting Ramadan... this is time for suhor... so..i get up..eat..then go back to bed for a coupe hours
ruru? *searches* :( carlee. Maybe babble for 10 or 15 minutes and then try again?

lobbing spitball at lorip
hi poopy oh sorry mean LoriP now i know what the P is for Hugs
Sublime is the dominion of the mind over the body, that for a time, can make flesh and nerve impregnable, and string the sinews like steel, so that the weak become so mighty.
hi there sandy'
until sunset
I like your profile text, Lori
so hows Nova Scotia treating you LoriP
hi lore
I'm glad, now if I can stay awake to play
hi BabbleRabble, so good to see you.

BR lol!
grin... I hope that wouldn't be me
are flies like bees attracted to honey?
THERE SHE IS>>>>>SPITBALL FURY!!!!
flies like poo like bees like honey
There can't be 7 words from that bottom e. Nuh uh.
that sentence definitely looks odd in english, lol
good one sprite
duck~~~~~~~~here it comes!!
there are, Lori, I found them all. Don't want to be smug, of course, but still.
oh look out cloaks up
I have read The Road Less Traveled several times, loredana ... always find more to use
***Captain, the shields are failing....***
opens up more each time BR
LoriP -- otis ought to give you a lift
adding mudballs... BOMBS AWAY!!!!
oh the flies will love these and any small boys that might be among the crowd
ohhh nooo!
HAHAHA...good one babble ( eating yoghurt..almost came out my nose there )
lol!
a kodak moment
thats for sending mudballs carlee! lol
not quite...but would have been a memorable one
why isn't sleezy valid? Is it with ea?
mudballs were aimed at loriP
***opens tiny umbrella, coyote style and waits for the inevitable***
Good morning everyone.
Yes, sleazy is sleazy. Good morning/evening all.
yeah well, aiming doesn't seem to bee your strongest suit, carlee... *cleans up morning coat*
beep beep~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
good morning elder
good morning Haz and Spangle
GM elder
hi elder! *hug* Emailed you back. Hope you are holding on.
Elder! 'Yer late. G'd morning Haz!???!?!
thanks
hi haz... Sprite..I oculdn't be THAT far off target.... there a great big ocean between canada and europe...
You are in questioning mode this morning Kori/Lori?????? hmmm?
a blunderbuss at close range is sure to be the delight of all inadvertant markspersons
Sprite.. yes, holding on to everything:)
that is what I thought, carlee... so it WAS on purpose? :P
Inquiring minds want to know Haz!?!
<evil grin>
LoriP, yes, late again but earlier than previous days:)
Know what? Know in general, or know in particular?
good going, elder. Little steps usually get us there in the end. Unless you need to cross a ravine ;)
I love that word, BabbleRabble. Blunderbuss.
Know it'all! I'm a sponge for knowledge. No, really.
comes straight from the dutch, I see!
lori knows what a sponge is???.she HATES housework!
I'll bear it in mind, Lori, the next time I come across something that I think you need or want to know.
you are, Lori. We know.
Haz, you up late also? Although, I suspect you have completed numerous chores/ tasks.
minnie the moocher is a sponge
'Course I know what a sponge is. It's what the cabana boy uses to do my back in the hot tub. Silly people.
"They call her mrs. Knowitall, she is so eloquent Perfection is her middle name, and whatever rhymes with eloquent."
I'm having a lazy day so far, elder. Life will speed up shortly.
Eloquent - heaven sent?
well..no point in going back t bed now..I have to get up in 30 mins
as long as it is water in the sponge and not alcohol
of course, minnie is cab's hoochie koocher too
that songwriter didn't know, obviously.
... LoriP.. so presumingly you are placing the lad back in the PB for the pleasure of all.
lol BabbleRabble
Of course elder, but you have to bring 'yer own sponge. :D
.. can do that...:)
ok..so...can I ask for some babble land brainstorming?
always, carlee
businesses that are open all night...that would be interesting fro kids to visit
99 days left in 2008 .... it is later than you think
may be difficult from this quarter but go ahead .
Thought showers, carlee. PC people think that brainstorming sounds like a criticism of epileptics.
argh BabbleRabble... that is harsh. That brings december so much closer all of a sudden.
BR, 'yer just a font of good cheer this morn....
Haz, not like you to be so PC.
I'm not, elder. I think it's a load of nonsense! (no offence to any PC people)
PC means = Partly Crazy
Personal Computer
so far I have, customs office ( bridge from can- USA), local pizza joint, midnite bowling, a bakery and the farmers market ( for the 5:30- 6 am crowd)
I think they look for offence where none is intended or caused.
No brothels on your list, carlee, I'm glad.
Babble, thanks for those enlightened words... rushes off to take Prozac.
sounds like a full night to me already, carlee
drunk tank is generally open
How about a hospital, carlee?
well....its a mystery nite for my 8-11 year old girls at guides...they willthink they are coming for a sleepover.... they won't...they will be hauled all over all night long instead
I know a drunk, but who is the tank?
going back to bed,bye..........lol
Night chickie.
bye chickie, sleep well
nite chickie
goodnight chickie sleep well see you next time
Sleep tight chickie
Good night Chickie
some cookie or chocolate factory that works in shifts?
good night, chickieo
i need something for that 3-5 am block of time.... its a lottle early for a dairy farm
The local police station.
Tim Horton's.
our town not that big.... the only "factories" we have here are petrochem plants..and no uh uh getting kids in
landfill is likely open
timmies ='s bakery... I have that already
not fun anyway, I think. How about a supermarket?
Timmy's is a bakery? lololo ***sorry***
Fire Station
Carleekat.. you wear me out, just reading what you do in the course of a week.
or some radio broadcast locally
local police station on a friday nite???? they might get more then their eyes need at that hour..and the police are typically pretty busy....
Yah, go to Sobey's and watch 'em stock shelves
oooh..radio station..OH>...newspaper too
there are always restaurants... good time for an early breakfast
LoriP lol
no sobeys...we have a walmart tho
OH...maybe take them to buy snacks at the A&P?
Walmart's evil.
to the park to watch the grass grow would certainly enhance any evening on the town
sounds like you have the whole night covered then :)
what before or after the landfill BR sorry for late response nearly died laughing BR you are an original
so peaceful, BabbleRabble. Especially with a load of girl scouts :)
elder...this will be in a month or so....mucho planning for this little evening out..mind with my pathfinders..we are planning a mystery day on hallowe'en... start out at noon...they blindfolded while being transported from one place to another..i want to end the "evening" with a sleepover in a haunted building
hands the wooden spoon to sprite (for stirring) grabbed it off Haz
can I subscribe for my kids, carlee :)
*stirs*
Here's hoping some do-gooder passing by doesn't get spooked at the sight of a bus-load of blindfolded girls and think the worst.
ship 'em over stprite...
Haz lol
hehehe....that funny haz
They might see the inside of a police station after all....
*puts kids in package and sends them overseas*
Carleekat.. haunted house... good thinking that will keep them in doors for months to come, terrified to go out, thus the neighbour hood is quiet.
( we like planning events that are outside the box...)
elder..the haunted house for aged 12-15 girls..i have 2 groups this year... double the fun...and 10 fold the number of camps I have to attend
or maybe just a creepy place where you read them a good ghost story, carlee?
well..not 10 fold....but u get my drift
no..haunted building
I mean for bridging the gap at 3 am. Keeping them blindfolded, lol.
Carleekat.. I would be out of the box... having to entertain, plan and have that many children around me.. you are either a saint or a masochist.:)
or both
nah....those age groups are a riot...
the planning is fun too...
and what exactly is again fun about a riot??
u get to act just as immature as they are....and they think its is fun.... its a great way to stay young
Carleekat.. i can see the fun in that.
I think it is great you do it, carlee. Wish my kids had such scouting leaders here.
well..THERE u go elder...
told u sprite..ship em over
already did, carlee :D
we just did the canoe camp this weekend past... 33 girls... 15 canoes... set up scavenger hunts on the river...taught them how tippy a canoe is..but also how hard to dump out of one... they learned to paddle..and steer....did a 2 hour trip down the river at the end....caught up with all the canoes...rafted..and ate our lunch along the river....was wonderful
Okay, seriously sprite. Are there really 7 words from that bottom e? I don't not believe ya'.
seriously, Lori. Biggies even.
I wouldn't know lori... I have yet to look at the grid...
wonderful, carlee.
6 biggies from that e.
Ahh, biggies. That's different then. I'll look again. I guess. Maybe. I prob'ally should.

And a big round of applause for our DENSA president - LORI!
and don't forget some words can be compounds.
another idea.. post office or fedex... they would be getting shipments loaded and ready to go about that hour
good one, mamabook!
ooh... good one mama
LoriP .. good to see Densa is kicking in again:)
BR's clue was much too subtle for me. He needs to dymb it down a bit next time.
I am afraid BabbleRabble does not qualify at all for DENSA
I think this is a very balanced grid. Words for rising, words for spinning and a word for staying still.
:)
Ahh, there are 7 words from that e. Who knew? Babble's a stoopid game anyways....
hate to say I told you so, but I did...
*hides a smug smile and proclaims: fireworks!*
Congratulations sprite.
Well done !! Sprite..!!!
It's okay, Lori. You can speed up now that sprite has finished. I know you were letting her win.

Congratulations sprite! ***mumbles incoherently***
I heard that!
I'm good thanks. Loosely speaking.

lol FM. e-Bay purchases do carry an inherent risk....
fa
Thanks FM! I'll have a little look see. Muchos grassyass
Fa, you say? fa9 is on my to find list.....
I do say fa
Because if you had said fe or fi or fo or fum it would have been a completely different story.
Luckily I have already made my bread :)
Thank you - I've found it.
yay the ee7 & 8 were hard ones
now that you've found it haz.......good morning by the way
Is it a compound word?
yes
G'd morning Eva
Hello Eva :)
Thanks again. DENSA.....
Ugh, wriggly things.
hi FM
Good morning Eva!
have the wriggly things but what about that fa9? Morning Haz!
Eva, think of the house attached to agricultural land.
Old MacDonald had a f..............
Stoopid word
It is not a stoopid word and stop pouting
I'm not pouting. Just sayin'.....
drawing a blank-the beginning is clear, but....
you are I can see it from here!
Think back to settlers in the old west
Do you have the 'keep still' word? Take the sometimes vowel off the end.
Nuh uh, there's fog on the pond. 'Yer fibbing!
that did it! Thanks Haz! I kept trying it with the one you push into a vampire's heart
This is how you know you're with old-time babblers. None of your giving out extra letters. Well done!
lol, cholesterol?
not a snake in sight
hi all. What is the keep still word?
G'd bichon. I kust looked at my profile, and November is my 2 year anniversary!
Maybe not so much keep still, but keep a clear head. It rhymes with a child's bear-like toy.
also a pirate expression----"xxxxx" as you go
Good morning bichon, by the way.
*G'd morning even
morning all
Hi bichon
got it, thanks EVA, et al
Great!
Grate ! :D
I spy with my little eye - Ata is online.....
Greyed out the bottom 12 squares. So far so good....

Is she? She got through immigration?
Ata Hari is alive? Prove it.

She lives!!
that was good timing, wasn't it!
Ata Hari!!!!! G'd morning stranger.
Ata! Welcome back!
she doesn't feel like she lives, right now :P
Just to verify your identity, what did your hub give you for your Birthday?
Ah. Jet lag?
VS what you wanted of course..... :p
is it bad that I've already blocked the memories out of my mind?!
jetlag and headache and bouncing spaniel!
No, it's good. It's shown that you've moved forward.
Prob'ally for the best really.
I'm sure you're thrilled to see Hobbit, just a little less spring in her step?
When did you get back? Did you get strip-searched at customs?
morning ladies:)
Hobbit must be like a toddler who drank an espresso
G'd mornign cross.
Good morning cross.
yesterday about lunchtime. and took hobbit straight to the beach. she was sooooooooo wiggly and happy and wiggly and happy and more wiggly!
Lovely! At least she didn't slink to a corner and turn her back. You'd feel worse if she did that.
absolutely! oh no. she's glued to me
It's always nice to get the enthusiastic welcome.
she slept flopped over me. all night.
That must have been warm!
it was rather ... but I was cold so it was fine! I don't normaly let her do that cos I get so hot, but last night was lovely
bounght one of those new cyclonic hepa filter vacuums yesterday..and i though my rugs were clean! got enough cat hair out of them to make another cat:/ no wonder we sneeze and cough all the time:/
So, did you sleep okay? Hopefully the jet lag won't last too long if you can get into the normal sleeping pattern again.
Vacuum? ***ponders what that might be***
I slept fine, until husband woke me up demanding a lift into Canterbury. me: do I *look* like I'm safe to drive right now?
it that thing your hanging your jackets off of lori:P
hey all. you cant keep me away for long
Poor man. He should choose his moments better.
Ahh, you mean the thing where I used the hose as a curtain rod. Gocha'.
brb. I need tea
cross, the cyclonic vacuums are pretty spectacular, aren't they?
good morning all
may I have clues for the 9's please
Good morning peri.
found ee7/8
I have cyclones in my house. 3 of them......
Back (((Ata)))
G'd morning bf, peri
fa9 = agricultural building, compound
fa9 - a place where Old McDonald might live
amazing things haz,no bags, reusable filter and now can be had for under 100 bucks

Ata went for tea FM. Said you dress funny, or something like that. :p

Hello everyone. I am here later than I had planned because I hit the snooze alarm 5 times!
peri - daughter had first reiki this am - and sent me sms to say "most awesome experience ever"
g'd morning Scrabbler!
howdy scrabbs;)
Hello Scrabbler. Snooze buttons are dangerous.
howdy fm:)
good to hear ursh
Yes, Hazel, I was in this state of delirium, having weird dreams, hitting the snooze button in a daze.
back
HI there Ata!!
i have a built in alarm clock..its called my bladder.pass a few measly lil kidney stones and you spend the rest of your life tiddling like a puppy:/
It's always funny when the noise of the alarm incorporates itself into the dream.
poor kid battling depression - separation from hub - and septic injury on leg
hi Scrabs
Hi Atalante--I haven't seen you in a while. How are you?
Ata hun, welcome home :)))))))
jetlagged!
glad she liked the Reiki, ursh
I have such a happy hobbit!
My bladder often makes me arise from bed, but there was no rush this AM.
Do we need to whisper around Ata? No sudden movements?
how is your cat, Ata?
I bet you do, wiggly waggly sproingy Hobbit
My friend just got a Peke-a-poo puppy--she says he looks like an Ewok from Star Wars.
sily is fine. she keeps staring at me with biiiiig biiiiiig eyes
Has she forgotten who you are?
Such a happy dog to have its human back home.
nah, she wants food :P
Dogs always want food.
crossy wants food and a tea..woof!
and a scratch behind the ear?
dont do that..makes my leg go all twitchy
LOL
Sit. Give me your paw. Now your other paw. Lie down. Roll over. Good boy! Now here is your food and tea, Crossy.

Any particular drug you desire?
I decided to stop entering Z words.

You rascal, you!

We are still excited you are back! How successful was dragon dodah?
or do what i do and toss out a dirty limeric every few minutes:)
I found 65 words in 15 minutes--now I must get ready for work. I left a disaster on my desk when I departed the office at 7:30 last night. I couldn't bear the thought of staying longer.
it was great! and now I'm going to be busy with the salmony Grendel nightmare :D
crossy is trying to monkey "z" words before he turns on the list and finds that there is ten of them:/
"There was a man fr4 Nantucket..."
there was a man from belgrave...
I made that mistake too, crossy, but there are NO z words, silly!
lol Scrabbler, good luck with the paperwork. Have a good one.
Looking forward to hearing all about it Ata :)
whew! no z words:)
bbl
give the bunnies a kiss for me scrabbs;)
later peri
HAVe a good day crossy Bye peri
I LOVE my bunny babies!! I had a dream about bunnies last night!
I am working on that. I'm meant to be up in Oxford all weekend looking after the Oxonmoot art show. But luckily! it gets taken down on Saturday, so I'm negotiating as much time off on Saturday as we speak :)
oh im not gone yet fm.just didnt want to miss,tasting...err kissing the plump lil bunnies
have you still got foster bunny, scrabs?
Excellent, Ata.
Naughty, Crossy. No Oxycontin for you!
*hums the theme to Watership Down*
Yes, I do, Ata. Instead of Bijou, I now call her Miss B or Beatrix (i.e. Potter).
awwww she's yours properly now?
75 words now---I must go. Enjoy the day everyone!
Have a good one Scrabs :)
Not officially, Ata, but the family does not have a pet-permitting apartment. They were denied a mortgage fr4 the bank which is just as well as they would have not been able to afford it anyway.
I'm guessing with this many esses that every word has a plural?
gm
G'd morning kje
A goodly smattering of them do kje

not sure ata..let me get sum more tea in me and it might click
I'm trying that. The tea thing. It's not working
put a splash of something 100 proof in it and it will work
kill or cure works for me!
same thing when you have the flu..nyqull is almost 50% alcohol so next time instead of just downing it like a shot, pour it over a scoop of yer favorite ice cream:)
so does that mean I could just drink tequila instead of taking nyquil? sounds more attractive to me!
you can substitute tequila only if you eat the worm:)
ewwwwww. I meant *good* tequila LOL
tequila does not have a worm... that is mezacal
mezcal
I've spent the last few months getting indoctrinated into the ways of gooood tequila

quite a dilemma, no help here
how much time do you have today? I have to leave in 15 mins
it is a lazy day for me asg... should run some errands, but feel like being lazy after the last 28 days of having to work

53
Thongammajig - when you've got ants in your pants?
That would be the toe separator on the flip-flop, Kje.
asg - I am cracking myself up... I am so giddy from not having to go into work that it is as if I have had a bottle of vodka alone
LOL judi
ha haz!
Hi, Haz@
Hi Haz, welcome back from lunch
Hello again!
wow, haz has been trademarked
OK, on that note (kje getting drunk off the grid), I'm off - tennis, school play meeting, girl scout hike, yada yada - bbl!
So I see, kje.
hagd asg - hopefully I will be gone when you get back
hi all

See you later, kje.
bye kje
bye, kje
Uh oh. Babble butt strikes again.
You as well, Judi?
No. I'm staying. Babble butt be damned.
That's what we like to hear - you've built up a good tolerance level.
Calussed buttocks. Another by-product of our addiction.
good afternoon everybody:)
If only Lori were here to say Hi Jean!
lol she will be gutted Haz lol
I've done it for her just so you don't feel neglected.
thank you Haz that is most kind:)
hi jean
How are you these days? Still busy at work?
Im fine thank you Haz yes busy at work and still cannot play babble at work anymore :(
Such a shame. So you have to make the most of what time you have at home.
I know the housework gets neglected lol
speaking of housework, I must be on my way, bye, dear babblers
bye Anniebrook:)
Look at that - Annie's guilty conscience setting in. See you later Annie!
bye Annie
sorry got distracted by the dogs who are not well at the moment Haz, how are you these days meant to ask just now,
I'm fine, just as usual. Are the dogs being a worry?
BBIAM. UPS man here. *growwwllll*
Well I will be better when they have seen the vet, there is kennel cough going around and I think mine have it
It's annoying when that happens. Apparently the vaccine isn't very easy to administer (up the nose!) and it's not 100%.
oh no the beagle willl hate that:( I cannot get an appointment till the morning, it has come on so quickly
You can give them cough syrup for humans. Although I'm not sure of the dosage.
Yuck. Up the nose vaccine. I thought they gave a shot for kennel cough.
If they already have it, I'm not sure that there's a great deal to be done other than symptomatic relief - the vaccine is usually given pre-boarding kennels as a preventative.
can you, I never thought of that Bzzn might help them
oh grief what have I done lol
Jean! You maniac. Stop that!
*phone* damn!
lmao I dont know what button I hit then lol
They maybe have an injection in the States - over here it's an up the nose thing. Spangle is the most patient dog and she took it without too much difficulty but other dogs protest, understandably.
We gave our foster dogs cough syrup when they came in with it, Call your vet and ask. May help until they can get to theie appointment.
But don't wait until after midnight. We had a man ringing last night at 12/30 concerned that his parakeet had bled a bit.
hey wats up
The previous call had been the Old Folks Home, concerned about a wood pigeon with a broken wing. It was a bird themed evening.
crossys back;)
aw, haz . . . .
Oh no what a nightmare Haz, the joys of being a vet, dont worry I will give them a call now I think, bb in a mo
you a vet haz?
Apparently all the old people were beside themselves with worry. It had to be put to sleep, but they were probably happy that it wasn't suffering any more.
No, crossy, I'm married to one - specialises in dairy practice. We have long discussions about calvings and mastitis.
you think you get weird house calls? lol ive had tourists call me from thier condos at 2 am wanting me to open up a entire resort office just to deliver them a corkscrew!
His practice is mixed, so when I answer the emergency phone at night it could be a dog or a sheep or cattle, you just never know.
Bet that's interesting dinner conversation...=)
lol reminds me of those james herriot novels that i love! cows and mastitis:)
Well, not so much conversation as polite attention!
Anything that causes the milk yield to drop is a problem to be sorted out.
prolaped uteris,slipped calf beds lol
darn typos..dont even bother to try and fix them any more.curse my fat fingers!
Yes, calf bed out, or lamb bed out - they rarely use the medical terms around here.
you read herriot haz?
Thank you Bzzn have just spoken to the surgery and apparently I am ok to give them a teaspoon of benilyn so am off out to buy some will help till we get o the vets tommorow
so funny
Glad to help.
I did, cross. It's very funny although things have moved on a lot in the technical side. The characters still remain.
whats wrong with the dogs jean?
Just popping out of grid for half n hour to purchase some benilyn, Happy Babbling one and all see you in a while
They have kennel cough, cross.
ahh yes...so common
See you jean.
I think they have kennel cough crosshair
you hate to board yer dogs here for fear of that
right gone:)
It's not life-threatening, just annoying to listen to.
thats one good thing bout cats.if you have to,you can set them up for up to a week on thier own
Yes, just make sure they know how to operate the vacuum.
our one cat is quite neat, the butterscotch tabby things it fun to fl;ing the litter as far as possible
Cats are strange.
i threaten to the wife that ill just smear a half jar of jam in each of thier coats..will keep them busy for 15 hours or so:)))
Yes, but think of what they might do!
or ill just play the physics game with them and tie a piece of buttered bread to thier back butter side up and toss them in the air:))
Have you ever been psycho-analysed for psychopathic tendencies?
think of the fun though,a cat tends to land on its feet, buttered bread tends to land buttered side down, ergo the whole thig should stop about 2 feet from the ground and just hover:))
It's a theory. Let us hope profoundly that you leave it as an untested theory!
no,but i think they are watching me with cameras:)
Interesting theory, Crossy. Be sure to let PETA know when you'll be conducting experiments.
actually i like the cats as they stop the wife from trying to stuff dogs into the apartment
Never mind the cameras. We'll get Anniebrook on the job. Watch out for a flying nun taking notes.
we have a nun in our midst??
mm i better shelve that joke about the nun,the cowboy and a camel then..:/
Well, no, not really. It's a kind of running joke - Anniebrook takes on a different persona when necessary.
lol im like sybl,i have 16 different personas and and invisible friend named bobo:) but im well adjusted:)
Hello again Has Annie taken to the air again, it has been an age!
Hi, FM (and others in FM).
Hello FMitch. No, she's doing housework.
I was just thinking - how DO you explain Annie as a nun and montreal with a fedora?
Good heavens, housework!! Hey Judi :)
Probably best not to otherwise they may send for the men in white coats again.
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that thinks housework is absurd.
That's true.
No, LoriP is persuaded of that as well, Bzzn.
hmm surprised it didn't take sitz (sitz bath)... sure saved me after I had a baby :~)
I have yet to shake off my genetic conditioning.
There are many that ban the mere mention of the word.
I think Sitz is a proper noun.
must be... maybe abbreviated version for name of inventor or something...
Imagine the horror if the word 'housework' appeared in the grid one day!
I'd have to be asking for a clue. =)
have to go, getting migraine, can barely see, hope to be back later
hope it goes away quickly pab
Not nice, pabtrek - hope you feel better.
take care pab, those are terrible
Feel better soon pab
Hope you feel better, pab.
I used to wonder why my father couldn't cope with a headache. Then I started to get them (in my 40s) and all became clear.
came to a halt with 39 left... going to my pal lickety lol. Isn't that the truth, Haz? Can be totally debilitating.
I know, and I probably only get a mild version, very occasionally. I'd hate to have them more often.
I had horrible migraines then I divorced my 1st husband and have not had one since. Honest truth.
lol
It's a pretty drastic cure!
Not if you knew my first husband. =)
new "reason for divorce box on papers" - spouse causes migraines
Ah!
brb getting coffee
Dee, are you still on the OB?
yknow, if im gonna be forced to work from home (which i was, thanks to suffering all night from a migraine) the least that could happen is for me to have the cleaning tolls i need to do the cleaning i wanna do while im home!
Hello EvaN - what tools do you need?
i need a toilet brush! we use the ones with the flushable "brushes" and we are all out of refills...
I could send you some?
You can have all my cleaning tools, Eva. They are all "gently" used.
i only seem to clean on the days i "work from home" heh
Or could you cobble together something with kitchen towels and disinfectant?
Got rubber gloves?
i have a sponge i could use, but i have no gloves...
At least you wouldn't have to sew. My kind of craft!
LOL yea right Haz.
Could you cut the sponge to fit on the end of the handle thing?
hrm. maybe.... i might try that in a few minutes -- right now, the cleaning products are re-stirring the headache...
you might have solved my dilemma, haz :)
*smug*
I'll take advantage of being smug while I can now that Ata's back.
heh, dont be smug until it actually works. ;)
sometimes I have used freezer bags with rubber bands on my hands (like mittens without the thumbs free)
clue for et 7 please
If it doesn't work, it's not my fault. You'll have cut the sponge wrongly or something. The idea is fine...in theory!
Very enterprising Volly
I don't like touching raw meat, so discovered that trick when I was making hamburger patties. Ty fm
et7 - e plus a craft (three letters) then three letters that denote a belief system.
Dee, are you still on the OBs?
yes
Are they talking storms?
Nice entry to the PB there, Bzzn.
yes, little scary, but everyone here claims it is "no biggie, just get movies, cards, and pizza and stay inside"...
Pizza will always protectyou
Hope theres pizza in the PB.
but only when worn on the head, Hi ruru :)
When do you leave?
I just got here
lol
not scheduled to leave until Sat around 9:30 AM
lol ru hi
how many of the lift words are there? i've got four...
** pictures pizza on head***(pepperoni?)
Then you will find no more, hurshy.
same here, hursh--4
well i have the ee4, also, but what else can come from that bottom e has me stumped
Although, you will still get a lift if you remove the first letter from some....
lol 4 el's, 2 le's
Fromthe bottom e - think wriggly things in double measure.
ee7 & 8 hurshy
thanks for those LE's
There is also a chance that the lastest hurricane may come our way.
and pondering the ee clues
yqw
ee7 - think compound and wriggly
ick ick ick!!
I know. My thoughts exactly, Une.
i am thinking wriggly, i just don't know what the double measure bit means
got it...like Newt Gingrich..
:-D
2 slimy creatures in one
There are two wriggly things in the one word, hurshy.
ge5? please?
ohhhh intresting
where are you bea? when is that supposed to hit
Newt Gingrich with a second personality..
what an odd sort of thing.
ge + French for "word"
I'm in the Raleigh area.
and plural
thanks
my nose hurts
if "plural" is ever in the grid, we're in big trouble! LOL
Because of thinking about wriggly things?
And the weatherforcasters are not sure where it will make landfall.
no, it has hurt since yesterday
Were you fighting? or is it a sinus problem?
ty for the ge words. Maybe it will fizzle or not hit here. It has been so lovely, even with the clouds and the wind, and it isn't very crowded.
Could hit NC, could hit NY or could travel to Canada before making landfall/
good grief, another hurricane?
no... it's not that kind of hurt. i think there is somehow a zit growing inside it.
Kyle, I believe.
ge5?
i wonder if people who have babies during hurricanes often name their kids the name of the hurricane
Just clued, kje - ge plus French word for word.
i'd much rather see a kid called kyle than ike...
More than likey hurshy
Must go make cookies for the neighbor boy who fedd our cat this weekend.
there were a lot of babies named Helen after the Mt. st Helen's eruption--when everyone had to stay home for five dasy!
hello babblets! what's shakin'?
Later all.
lol I was conceived in a hurricane in NC in 1955.. perhaps reason for my st5 y personality
ty
Well, better get my afternoon walk done. The sun is still shining, it's a shame not to take advantage. Bye all!
hi sean, long time no see
thanks, dee, didn't have that one!
Bye Haz :)
Bye!
bye
hi kathryn. yeah, i had some time off work, and wasn't online much
yw une
bye, haz!
then we had that wind storm here in ohio, and we had no internet for a week
how have you been?
hi all! today's theme please?
male author
good, sean
Hi, Owl, you are in the grid today :-)
did the girl ever pass her licensing exam, sean?
:D
no, she didn't... we wound up closing an office, actually, and hiring someone else
that allowed me to take some much needed time off
Hi folks, just on for a bit. How is everyone?
i think she took the test about 9 times, and never passed!
good idea... don't know if i'd want to hire the person who scored worst on the test
hi mg
Ooooh, haven't changed my icon, sorry. Oh well, toimorrow is another day!
what test is that Seans
insurance license exam, peri
ok
captain picard didn't pass his entrance exam for starfleet academy the first time... but 9 does seem a bit excessive
What's the V that one does not keep beer in look like?
i agree, kathryn... too bad we had to close an office, but it allows me a day off during the week again
the president can put the kibosh on a bill, monkey
Not that I keep beer in anything so large...no room here for that.
Oh thanks, and whack me with a wrasse for that one!
I like the word kibosh, it is a silly sounding word
agreed, hurshy... i mean, 80% of people fail it their first time. it isn't easy, but 9 times is a bit over the top
LOL - what a funny factoid for you to know hursh
Sounds like some kind of sausage. Gotta like it.
everyone knows the president can put a kibosh on a bill
the capt kirk trivia, silly
picard!
Walter doesn't, but to be fair, he only JUST started school. Foreign politics won't be for some time.
OK, whatever!
morning all
!
Hi Diem!
hi diem
that's like saying "bill clinton, george bush, whatever"
Walter has now been to three days of school and he loves it. I'm so proud of him! He looks so small there, with his Diego backpack... He's a little guy, even for 4.
trekkie, hurshy?
no, more like george w, george senior, whatever : )
:O
gooooooooooooood morning babble people
ae clue?
ho josh
hi josh
Yo Josh!
ae5 alt sp of eg4

le + PT of eat
st7 clue please?

missing 1 d and 1 l

Missing 135 words...
fa9 - compound word for home on the plains
let's play the enable game! i have an ulterior motave
ok fireworks and now time for hot tub! It has been a delight to spend time with you "daytimers". Have a great day!!!
ty kje
WOOHOO Dee!!! hagn
yahooo volley!!
I have a televator... Is that how to play?
ta & *poof*
yw
not getting your clue kje
well, sort of monkey. basically you just spell things any old way you want (the spellings appearing in the grid, of course).
Hot... tub.... Oh man, I want a hot tub!
fa4 + st5
Ah, so not ENTIRELYmade u p and yet plausible words! Gothcha.
just, you know, mocking the fact of enable allowing so many weird spellings.
I am still lobbying for a poetry contest using the phantoms.
I approve entirely, Hursh.
OK, Walter is watching Teevy.
you can't lobby, you've got to just do it
i hope there's nothing sleezy on
last ar 5/10 please
Tried that> I won... or tied... dunno. I was the only player.
to get up, ruru
Oops, brb!
or got up
hmm, i guess contests are harder that way.
6 to go,help please for TW7-8 pair?
scottish pairs
a pair of scottish pairs, lol
** whacks self with fish.. self flagelating ***
like a pair, but think scottish start, pug
bbl, going to sit outside for a while
what is scottish about that start?
that's how you say 2 in scottish
i thought it was more like tue
OK, back.
no need to whack yourself ruru - we are always willing to throw fish when deserved
i probably can't pronounce it well, but that's how you spell it in scottish, certainly.
have not a clue on scottish
tw4 + so4
whacking self with fish IS the original proper procedure...
Starting to smell dinner in here... I'm making Osso Bucco and artichokes. Out by Walter's school there turns out to be a greengrocer with fabulous artichokes, and i can order truffel potatoes there!
crap phone
saw the clue for the et earlier but didn't get it.. any help?
Of course all their stuff is awesome... that is the Other side of the Tracks (literally), and the houses there ar ethe most expensive in the country. Nice to bike through, I tell you.
60 left, still no list
I have a crap phone too, pug!
et - french for state + belief ending
may I have another clue for the la 4/4 please? I didn't get the first one
39 left, still no list, josh : )
33 here
thank you
yay hursh
HOw do you dial a crap phone...?
yw... and don't forget to plural
very gingerly
how ruru?
As the tradityional line goes, very carefully...
ty got it
le4/4 - le + 2/3 of greek letter
Walter is trying to pull my tattoo off.
having a crap phone gives a whole new meaning to Sprint I guess
He STILL wants to be a podiatrist, by the way. It didn't change that to mention that they rarely get to use a stethoscope (current favorite toy) to listen to people's heart beeps.
don't you love when you type in something expecting it not to go and it does?
Hee hee, ruru!
I do love that, ruru.
n Hursh.
slowing to a snail's pace
Sorry, distracted by someone trying to feed marbles up my sleeve.
kje said a form of a woooooord
sorry was daughter on phone with more misery....but TY for those clues ,got it eventually
Everything OK, Pug?
well, now we are just getting too picky hursh : )
she's getting screwed out of an inheritance
so unless there is something really good in the pb, I refuse to go
I can put the Osso Bucco in there...
i want things in the PB, i'm hungry
Oh no! I just assisted someone with that here. Can she fight it?
i have been trying to make a word about arm holders for 15 minutes :?
because... you're alive?
nah - too heavy this early in the day
she has not 2 pennies to rub together for an attorney
How about if I put Walter'sleftover banana birthday cake in the PB?
I've had that unpleasant experience Pug, I hope hers turns out better
Are there pro-bono places? Where is she? My brother's a lawyer, maybe he can reccommend something?
unfortunately I am in no better shape so cannot help her
that's rarely done on a pro bono basis in the USA
Buffalo NY
my case was in NJ and cost a fortune
My brother is in CA. I can ask him if he has any ideas...
but if it's about inheritance, a lawyer could do it on condition of getting a sum if they win
also rarely done on a contingency basis
OK, either need to start listing or take a break... so will be back later I guess
why would they do personal injury on contingency but not inheritance?
Here also, Esprid, but there are often places most people don't know about, like where I work, that can help.
because the laws are more complicated
liability is a lot easier to prove than inheritance contest
her aunt & father were to be dual inheritors of the parents house (worth quite a fair sum.Her father comitted suicide so she & her 1/2 sister were to get his share
huh, weird.
Pug, who is the benefactor?
OK, well, I will contact my brother and ask if he has any ideas about the kinds of place/people to contact. No promises, but I'll see what he says.
now the aunt is declaring bankrupcy & listing the girls as unsecured creditors to write off
b/c personal injury often goes to jury that they can sway and have a chance of getting a huge payoff... inheritance usually a mediator or a judge and seldom huge payouts
who is trying to screw her, the aunt?
hi all
Oh MAN, that sucks!
Hello, Ditzi!
the aunt's bankruptcy should not affect their share of an inheritance
well, you know, you wouldn't want her to end up like in bleak house. that would be worse.
so the house is not paid for?
Haven't read that...
I know, I know...
Any clue for the first fr5?. Thanks.
it is paid for & was to be sold .think shit hit the fan when aunts hubby died a while back
fr+two vowels and plural
Got it!!!!!
there's one before that, esprit - green stuff on the lawn but with a different first letter
one of the plots of bleak house involves an inheritance case, dickens was satirizing how bad the courts were about stuff at that time in england. the case had gone on for so long, none of the lawyers really understood what the issues even were anymore.
any help for ST7 please?
and they didn't care, as long as they kept getting paid.
ty joshua
What Josh said.
english translation of et7
Sounds pretty typical! Just that it's ... well... Dickens. I find him insufferable for the most part. OK, I need to away to the Osso Bucco. I'll see if my brother has any ideas. E-mailme at kmcoo@chello.nl, and I will e-mailbackif tehre's anything to pass along. Everyone, have fun babbling! May be back later, but it's House night.
pug do you know the value of the house?
the people trying to get their inheritance consistently went broke and mad.
pug, a religion where you adore montana, idaho, wyoming, etc
TY jean!
lol harp
if you can't help em win, at least make em laugh, right?
Good afternoon all.........

Cant Haz stay a bit later
Could you meet her at Heathrow?
((Vi))
she has a plane to catch :(
Thats such a shame

(Just trying to add some variety and range to the sulking.)
LOL Vi
Urf thats not practical
Thats a bit too much Ata
especially when car will be parked in park and ride at Oxford, so would have to get back into city centre at the end!
T4/8 not meant to be this time.

how many left then?
55 here . . .

of course, I could list some french writers as well . . .
king's house - oops
une, are you missing the e word that can also begin with an a?

Well I would really like your oopinion if you do. It was EXTREMELY well written, EXTREMELY wellset, fascinating... and inmy opinion nothing acytually happens. Totally inexplicable.
got the w7 - tx fuquay!
nope, i have that one, flippy
Thanks, fuquay! That was a toughie.
I am about ready to read Discovery of Heaven in the original Dutch, I think. Now even in translation, THERE'S a great book!

hi and bye flos - and WOOHOO!!!
What'd I do??
monkey, this is the beginning of Amazon's description of "Gargoyle": An extraordinary debut novel of love that survives the fires of hell and transcends the boundaries of time.
it's very disconcerting to me to see male icons on female players... just commenting.
oh, sorry, thanks KJE!!
Cool! Hey, I just read The Time Traveler's Wife; that was very good.
kje and une are driving me crazy.
that makes it sound like some kind of bodice ripper and that's not at all what it is
I've read that! the time traveller's wife, that is.
no bodice ripping allowed in babble
monkey, I have Time Traveler's Wife on Playaway from the library right now--looking forward to listening!
It's really good. Who's reading yours?
what?
what is the ee 7 anyone??
sharon, it's a compound word of two squiggly things
thanks...almost had it :)
:-D
Time Traveler'sWife... Who do read for Playaway, or misunderstand I what that is? Or am I reoplying to the worng question? I'mso confused.....
Playaway is is system like an MP3 player--it's great--tiny and all you have to do is pop a AAA battery in, then attach your own headphones
A Jedi you shall become...
it's very expensive but FREE from the library! ;-)
Cool! Not here. But documentaries on DVD ar efree. OK, HOuse time, I leave you all now! Have fun!

I am one w word away from fireworks
Yay!!!! Go! Go! I have 132 left.
it's giving me grief.
Maybe I have it?

tw4 the night before christmas
Yeah, I got it fromLady's use. But didn't have that 7! Thanks. Been clued all day but I'm used to spelling the Scottish with an ending E, so missed it.
I kept trying the E ending too.
The TV is freaking me out! They're interviewing this guy in Dutch, and subtitling him in very slightly different Dutch. Why are they doing that? My brain's getting out of synch.
It's not like he's Fresian or Flemish or something!
sounds frightening, monkey
I'd say, turn off the TV
OK, Got to go at this end. Have fun, everyone!
bye MonkeyG
I'm out too. bye everyone

Not till next May. We are going to the Dom Rep a week after it for a delayed celebration. We could have gone for it but it would have meant going to London for the flights instead of 20 mins down the road to Birmingham

hello Wvteach.
.. and the correct definition, can't beat that :)
help with te6 and te7 please
not there yet, sorry per
we have the opposite - neither of her parents are really red heads. none of her grandparents are redheads. we think that there was one great-great grandfather on both sides that was a red head. But her mother has always colored her hair with red streaks so it always looks like they go together
funny
te6/7 = warm drink + high value letter + spanish for the and plural

hello Bzzn.
Hey, elder.
don't get the te6 clue
drink a cup of te* + eat a salty pret***
which part?
and if you're in philly you might put mustard on your pret***
thanks Dorens and elder, I do live in that city. Have not had a soft pretzel in a few years
Just watching the national news. KT, do you know why they won't let reporters at Palin?
Bzzz I promised not to discuss politics. Sorry
i know you do peri. I went to Temple while my husband was at Hahnemann, always thought it was funny to put mustard on them
No problem.
Bzzn, how is the renovation going on your home?.
what do you put on them, Dorens. when were you in Phila?
Stalled, elder. Still no money as we haven't sold our house in KS.
ouch - i have a house for sale too. Very slow market in Arizona
We have been doing some cosmetic stuff like painting rooms, but that is about it.
i am renting it now to cover the mortgage, since I bought another one
bzzn, that's a shame sorry to hear that, market her too is grim.
actually i don't eat them, peri. but did once in a while back then.. 1969 to 1973 (dating myself... i was at temple about the same time as owl)
by the time I think of a clue there's already several in the log... I'm slow and useless so I'm gonna head out. see you all tomorrow!
by niamh
bzzn, can you not rent it out for a period,it will provide some cash
What is ouchier is we had a contract on it, but they wanted us to replace the roof at 10K.
yes, it's a buyers market, no question
if I had the cash and the nerve, I would look for bargains
and property developers aahh.
We have thought of that, but they are constantly showing it. And being across the country, there is really no one there to take care of or watch the renters.
me5/12 please
me 5,12 = was introduced + exists
Bzzn is there not a cheap agency that could take care of your home while you rent.
I understand the buyers market, but when you are looking at a 100+ year old house that appraises at 160K, you agree to buy it for 127K, then want another 10K of work...
No one we would trust, elder.
I went to Temple too, MSW in 1983. I think I am a little older than you Dorens. Went back to school when I was older than most of the class
bzzn difficult, don't renting agencies in that state have a duty to care .
anyone help me with the et 7 and 8 letter word please and thank you
Need to feed the cat and me, bbs
1/2/50 (birthdate)
There aren't really any agencies in the small town we oonce lived in.
yep I am older than you
bye for now Peri.
ccool, i'm always glad to find people who are... these days at work i'm the old lady
have to keep reminding myself that age is just a number :-)
have a nice dinner peri. 3 left, so I think i'll be out soon

of course it is red! I pay NO attention to themes
I like the themes, but I dont lie food themes...though I thnk a lot of people do like the food o nes.

Hi, all
hi pam!
Hi Pam, how are you?
Hi, Pam
I am ok, you all?
Hi, met, red, and pug
just another night in Bable land....
hi pam
I have my big "date" tomorro....LOL.
dish dish red?
I have been trying to get this guy to ask me out since July. he finally did last week, but he is still sort of a jerk.
Well, it's just my opinion, and they're like a**holes, but people have more important things to fret over than whether their icon matches today's theme....
why jerk? for being so bashfull?
They all are, Red - except when they're gay, then only half are jerks.
No, he wasn't bashful, he just sort of didnt return phone calls, etc etc...He has some issues, but unfortunately I still like it.
to me that would spell NOT VERY INTERESTED ,I'd say screw that!
so if one is gay one can't be a jerk?
Well, if you like it , you like it, red. When is the date?
and now my contract is up in 2 weeks....
LOL, met. No, when they are gay at least most of 'em can dance...
So i decided just to go out and have a good time...
No, TO, I said only half the gays are jerks- I oughta know.....
how true Pam how true
sorry to say that most of the gay men i know i can't stand, but i think it is just the area
well have a blast, red.
well have a blast, red.
hullo, nut.
gay men make the best girlfriends! :)
Probably, Nutty - Cute pussy on your icon, BTW
hullo owler
It should be fun, very casual, hes been working nights all week, so we are doing breakfast...
Pam, how are your pups?
Oh, nut, I am a fag hag from way back. Many long nights spent in gay bars in Albany, NY, and to this day, one of those men is among my best friends...
hi Nutteroo!
Breakfast is a great idea...
hiya pugster
I am fostering one dog, red, and prednisone and clavamox are working... Her allergies seem to be doing better....
Pam, my sister fruit fly!
Oh, yeah, pug. A very proud one at that.
Well, have fun on the date, Red. Everyone, good nite, I'm the Poofter poofing off...
good nite Met.
We'll want details....
good night love, be around Sunday for overdue Henfest?
explicit details
Ciao, met!
If he's REALLY cute, he might be worth a tumble at least....
...and a few breakfasts!!!
i vote for tumble based on cuteness/hotness
met you lil' strumpet!
clues a nyone? ar 5 last one please?
He's very very special, but we'll see what happens, I keep thinking he's going to stand me up.
Oh, I hope not, red...
good luck red .....
Nite Pam, Nutty, Red, Pug, and anyone else here now **poof**
and my contract here is done in 2 weeks.,...
Maybe something will come up though?
does that mean you'll be moving red?
i think dr.god must be a music fan..yesterday jack white's group, today heavy metal
most likely. i will find out tomorro if the one Orlando hosptial thats hiring accepted me, but...I think that is for Jan.
what to do in between private agency work?
I'm hoping for another contract, somewhere warm, but...i might have to freeze.

LOL
89 left. I should go and sleep soon.
Yes, it is. =)
Monkey you know not to put any bids in until the last 15 secs
otherwise you just drive up the bidding
why is that, snady loo
I always wait until the very end then put in my max bid and the computor will bid you up
i will keep that in mind next time i bid
the computor only bids to what is needed to win
OK!

Hi kids. I am just checking in briefly before I go up to bed. How is everyone?
hey cousin! how's life on the wild side?
cadfan feelin a lil spongebobbish r we ;0
Hey, Scrabs. Good to see you.
LOL left over from Pirate day
I am a bit unraveled after spending the afternoon and evening with Mary and her kids. Mary has gotten very physically weak and it is worrisome.
hi scrabs... sorry to hear that
oh scrabbler ((((hugs)))) I am sorry to hear that. how are the kids coping?
Oh, Scrabs, I am so sorry. I had wondered....
I don't think the wa 7 is a wurd either...
I got the kids ready for bed, read stories, and said good night to them---the baby was easy, the older 2 are rascals and tried to negotiate.
(((((HUGS)))))))) and {{{{{{{WHITE LIGHT}}}}}
a good bit ' scots in this grid, I think...
LOL but you stood firm, right scrabbler? like the veteran auntie you are?
and Irish
An MRI done Saturday showed no changes--same tiny mass. She is just very weak in her muscles, and the cause is not clear--probably one of hr meds. The kids are doing great and kept me laughing.
UGH........ That stinks, scrabs
Yes, I set limits and used the "If ____, then___." warning.
well, at least there is no new growth... but still. she has enough iron and bloodwork is good I suppose. meds can stink. big time.
And she tipped over off the toilet Saturday when her husband turned to grab a towel--she smashed her face--broken nasal bones, and bruised cheek and upper lip.

Hi Pinikula

Exactly, Pam.
oh, poor mary.
well, supper is ready... back later. (((scrabbler))) I am sending mary extra strength... and her husband extra love.
Yes, it hurts so much to see her in this weakened state and to be suffering for so long. And her husband is bearing such an enormous burden without his life partner there to support HIM and the kids.
TY so much, Stid.
I can only imagine, scrabs. I really hope they catch a break soon....

I kind of like the word lil..
...but then, I am part scot

the tw8 is a plural of tw7... tw + surfer dude talk for a great wave : *we**** !!!!
one quarter!
i am part scottish too! named for my scottish grandfather MacLaury
thank you!
funny clue monkey
I'm too am part Scot (Murray's of Atol)
I am part irsh
you did it again lil*monkey--thanks!
everything but your "eye" kje? ;)
YW scribe
? pini?
what a wonderful name, MacLaury. Does your clan have a tartan?
you missed your middle 'eye' when you spelled
Hello mongrels of the world! Just got my cake out of the oven and am waiting for final load of washing to finish. How goes the grid for you all?
hi jacula
i think so, saani... on my mom's side we have a tartan for her maiden name "Johnston"
aaahhh - so I did - ha!
I'm also one quarter irish; the other bits are Cornish and Welsh
hey, peeps
mongrels of the world, unite!!!
it bites for me, jacula...but then again I'm not too good at harder grids (or seem to be)
Indeed we should unite, kje.
my other bits are swiss and german
my other bits are English and French
and english
snap, kajee
My bits are German, Italian, French, and Scot...what a mix, eh?
I'm having a fit of outrage. the first st5 6 combo is completely illegal. st5's only meaning is a town in germany; and st6 being a plural of it, when it's the only one ... :( :(
Hey Lil. have you looked up tour tartan? THere is a shop in Victoria which specializes in them.
my BF is Italian and Polish... needless to say, he has a large nose!
betcha I'm a bigger alley cat than all of you :D
LOL monkey
Which bits are English, and which French, Monkey? The naming of 'the bits' for all of use could be quite amusing.
i have seen it saani, can't remember what the MacLaury one looks like, but the Johnston one is very untraditional.... blues and greens (pale) with a fine white line
Bet he's got small hips though, Monkey!
gonna run - see you all later - happy firworks to all about to go!
cya l8r kje
yes Jac! is that a sign of Italian and Polish?
'Bye kje.
Think so, monkey.
well, if I'm just gonna be ignored, I'll go away. bye
and he has very skinny legs!
tyger! no!
please stay tyger!
what is your "combination" tyger?
Hello Tyger. Didn't see you there. I just got here.

Nig nose, skinny thighs, small hips... continue with the description...
GGEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Nig? I meant to type big.
so what does the tw7.48 mean?
can't get the 2nd part of the compound fa9 word, help, please?
LOL Jac! big feet, thick hair, tall, beautiful deep voice
EEK! Nasty jungle noises, fierce sounding....
just a quickie comment or two (hi all) -- jac, your recipe is called Scalloped Potatoes here and I love them -- and tyger, I have a big Danish Dane email to send you
hi jilli
hi jilli
sounds lovely -- the tartan, lil.
Sounds Neanderthal, Monkey. Like my man would and any man would when you attempt to describe them.
scribe, has the same ending as home*****, or bed*****, or I think I'll have the steak in***** of the chicken
thoought I'd have lots of time today to get my last 52 but had NONE -- now must get supper
HELLO Jilli!
everyone please call out to Tyger
everyone please call out to Tyger
Hi jilli - glad you like my fave meal. At least I'll kno what to feed you, should you ever visit.
Hi y'all! Need a clue please for gi5-16? Thanks
I like cheese cauliflower too, jac :)
lil, she's logged off
I mean caulifower cheese
curry cauliflower is good too
gi5-think of a gadget but don't use the 'z' in the middle
Tyger will either return or not, as it pleases her.
peach, it's the cute little gremlin's name.
In the meantime, I think we should just get on with things.
BRB
jacula...you could get on finding all my missing words!!! *hint* *hint*
food theme for tomorrow?
I've only got 65 more to go!
I did prawn pilau last night, which Jilli might know, if she's read my blog. The chilli pepper in it was just too hot for me, though other members of family enjoyed it. I'll take my portion out nect time and just add a bit of red bell pepper.
Thank you scribekd.
you can do it, pini
pink - you'd better start asking for clues then before I go to bed.
bell peppers are wimpy, but too much heat is horrid, lol
sure-got a clue for the fa9? can't monkey the 2nd part, please
oh, it's ok, jac...I wouldn't even know where to start!
must go and get supper -- minute steak, fresh zucchini, sliced carrots, spiced fried spuds...
got the fa9, ty
pini -- what is your icon? Please post its description in your profile!
fa9 = a place where animals are kept and crops raised. fa4/8 + the first 5 letters of a word that is not 'wobbly' - it's firm and holding ****dy.
do this in***** of that...
thanks, Jacula-i thought i'd tried that-my last word!
lbd - LOL. That's an easier way of saying it than I used.
y/w, scribe.
your clue obviously worked, jac
Guess so, lbd.
bug poo! that's what fr5.16 means!
Gish! It's been a long day but I can't go to bed yet. Thank goodness I onl have ironing and catching up on TV whilst doing it on my list for later. There are other things to do but that'd be boring to tell.
ttfn -- back asap
later, jilli, bon apetite
Gosh, not gish.
hey! who said poo ?
lbd said poo.
dawg poo ?
fr5.16! a new one for nutty
i did not poo
New? How so?
jac, i would like to try that potato pie, with some gammon as you suggested, however I don't know what the hell gammon is
8's done!
i need one more 8!
new, as in a new word for her to use for poo
Oh, a new poo word, I suppose, lbd.
my grandmother used to say "piddle" for poo, like The dog piddled on the floor
lil, do you know which one?
8's are : ee, el, el, et, le, so, tw
yes i need so8
Gammon is a cut of me4 from the leg of a pig that is taken after salting.
plural the 7, lil
WA 7?
help with le8? puhlease
don't have it!
take the e off of the el
phan, wa4.8 + whi**** while you work
You could get a cut of ham from the same place but that would have been cut before the salting. Ther is almost no difference in taste, especially if you soak the joint in water before cooking it (to remove all the salt) like wot I do!
TY jac.... is it ham?
lbd, i don't have so7
it's like the EL 8/55 - the 1st ltr
ty pini
warstle
oops
phand!
so sorry
LOL
lil, sun god + all this talk of food is making me sali****
I don't have my own laptop and so not using expert...
so7 = French for sun (in short) + big container for soup, wine, whatever, + vowel.
both are good clues ty
have all the 8's now woohooooo
frose
oops
TY jac
did phand go in the PB ?
wtg shen
My son told me earlier, after years of telling me he had 'no idea' why our electricty bill had got so high, that a laptop uses 6-7 times less power than a pc.
i would be willing to put Hershey's Nuggets with almonds in the PB
Can I go to the PB voluntarily????
mmm monkey that sounds gr8
no, pini... you must "accidentally" reveal a word
do i have to say a word that actually works or what?
He was wondering why I don't use ,y laptop for Babbling.
well, if I must!
"great" isn't in the grid, sheneygne
lol!
i really thought that sleezy was a word!
i did too, stephie
it is with an 'a'
i believe it's "sleazy"
It's sleazy, Steph.
isn't it?
thanks!!
guess i was making it like a sleeve
and Done! any one need clues?
whoooooo hoooooo PHAN!!!
I need 50!!!!
wtg phan
i need 40
well ask away
sl words are 'rain with snow in it', blackthorn fruit that makes nice gin, small opening you might put your bank card into, not very fast and verb form of that.
Oh, good, I'm not alone out here!!! ^5 lil*
sm5/12 is past tense of what a Viking might have done to a Saxon with his axe. Hit him with it.
te6..7
not coffee + i like plain pret****
a drink + high point tile + l spelled out
te6 and plural 7 are a type of plant with a burr at the top that were once used form combing wool.
danks!
i love the way we all clue differently
I think it's cool...if I can't figure out one, then I try the other; if all else fails, read them together...guess I'm bound to get it eventually
i need the first ge5 please
never mind
7's done!!!
awesome cluing guys!
ge + ***ly crew
brb - pup patrol
and plural
Off to bed now, at last. Happy Babbling for the rest of this grid and see you next grid.

TYGER!!!!!!!!!!
hello hello tyger!
so sorry tyger
hey, monk

tyger i know how that feels, and i'm glad you came back :)
oh, dawg, lurve your icon!
well, I did feel ignored :/
i am in RO hell right now
you're just in time for me to say goodnight. time to toddle off to my pillows. early shifts really suck.
sleep tight, dawg
byeeeeeeeee lbd
thanks for clues :)
RO word probs, monk?
good luck finishing the grid everyone! see you all tomorrow. *poof*
not here for long, but I can clue, fershure
did the chog freeze?
I guess not
no i whizzed thru them like a champ... now struggling with ST words, tyger
good, monk. lemme know if you want clues, but soon. I've got stuff to get done in the next 30 mins
the first ST 5/6 combo is WACK
OK tyg
it's not just wack. It's illegal
it's the name of a town in Germany
I checked
there is NO other meaning
nearly all of the other STs are normal, real words
need help with st7
is it normal?
there is a Greek plural, but it's not immediately below the singular - the roman plural comes first :P
it's a normal word, in terms of you've seen it in grids before :D
OK got it!
vg :)
there's a weasel, near the end of the STs
and some bad weather ;)
i have that one, thank you
and the weather
I give up! What does "WACK" mean? apart from "wacky" that is. Thank you!
sounds like you're doing pretty well!
AFAIK, saani, that's all
it's just the name of a German town, and has no business in a Scrabble word list
the ST word we were talking about, that is
WACK is an ebonics term for wrong, unbelievable, crazy
AFAIK? I am soooo iliterate
As Far As I Know
oh, thanks lil!
that's web lingo
and than you too tyger!
yvw, saani
the st5,10 with many vowels is WACK
I've been emailing for more than 25 years
that's the greek plural I mentioned, monk
yes! thank you tyger.. now that i have the word, the clue makes perfect sense LOL
or the latin one - the 1st, or the 2nd?
I now understand!
you're familiar with Latin plurals, I'm certain. the greek ones are a bit more obscure
oh i had to scroll back on the list... seeems i missed the ow5
OK...the first st5/6 (german town) has me totally stumped!
pini, st + Cr***'s List
st5: st + vowel + person who knows nothing is **norant
well, at least our clues were quite different! :)
but yours was easier, monk :)
male deer with a good eye?
You're right...those are not real!
beg pardon, saani?
Now that I know what it is, saan, I get your clue! lol
sorry, i lapsed into cryptic... "eye" is "i". sorry
I checked, pini. and I wrote an indignant note for inclusion in my next post over on the board
I use that, too, saan
s' okay, saani. I understood later
:D
saani, that clue is funny and clever!
last so5/6 combo?
thanks all!
last clue requests? I need to go. 2 Lindt ex dk choc truffles are calling my name, then stuff to do elsewhere on the web
yvw, saani
tyger! Lindt truffles! OMG!
fling me some please!!!!
of course they're not as good as homemade, but really very nice, and only 70 calories each (65% cocoa)
deluscious!
gottem
that means I can have more than one! only 70 calories!
okay, monk. here ya go :fling:
10 = 700 cals
*stuffing cheeks full of truffles8
you can get a bag at Walgreen's for $3.99 (plus tax) here
sandyloo! don't be a party pooper
yeah, sandy, but I budget myself to 2, period
first so?
and eat them as slowly as I can :D
I'm salivating right now. they're setting on the kitchen table
1st so5: so + (hail) *** Maria
how many calories for the whole bag?
dunno, monk. I'd have to look. I can do it quickly if you wish
got it...a misspelling of the shampoo!
ONE LEFT
yea, pini, that would be another way to clue it, fershure
go, monk!!!!!
first sa?
BRB - going to check bag
33 more to go here!
FIREWORKS!!!!!!!!!!
YEAH!!!
yay, monk!
It says there are 12 in a bag. the ones I get, the bag is black
oh they're showing the FlowBee on TV right now
it's a riot
they have milk choc, regular dark, and some other kind, I forget what
let's see, Sandyloo Miss Math Whiz, what is 70 times 12
*sniffle* 1st sa? pwetty pwease?
tyger, they also have hazelnut
but I love really, really dark choc - like old, thick hot fudge - you know, when it tastes almost bitter?
sa + a ***e by any other name....
yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees tyger
if you say so, monk. I don't like hazelnut well enough for a whole bag :D
or, sa + red ***es for a bluuuuuuuuuue lady
gads, the one monkey I didn't get to...
the wonderful taste of super-strong chocolate!
really rich French vanilla ice cream (the kind that's yellow, it's so rich), with super rich, thick hot fudge is to me one of the most sinfully delicious desserts in the world
you're killing me, tyger!
I don't even have to have whipped cream :)
now that I've got all of you drooling ..... :D :D :D

That's not a crime. I drank rye until I found out I was allergic to it.
my old neighbors..Laotians...whenever they have a party there's an unending amount of beer, but they also walk around w/either a bottle of Couvarssier (sp??) or Hennessey & make people do shots
I can get a 2 day hangover from a sip!
I know I spelled Couv. wrong
Yeah...couple shots of those & you're singing Laotian karaoke all night, lol
Well I am a brewer and love beer but brandy & cognac only like me for 1 drink. Then same as rye. And I NEVER do shots!
mmm tequila :)
What on earth does Laotian karioke sound like!
I'll stick with my Hawaiian Punch Shooters
No tequila. Don't like the taste. sorry
They're parties are so cool though because it's always a big affair. After a death...one year later they have a celebration of life party & people come from all over the world. It's whacked to what we're use to in US culture
