Turnip/Sweet Potato Casserole or Apple This is an altered recipe I cut from a magazine many years ago. 2 lbs. turnips, peeled and sliced in 1/4" slices 2 lbs. sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced 1/4" slices salt and pepper as you like 1 cup apple juice - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 1/2 tsp. grated nutmeg 1 cup dry bread crumbs 1/2 cup chopped pecans 1/3 cup butter or margarine 1 tbsp. chopped parsley - or cilantro Preheat oven to 400F Butter 2 quart baking dish Arrange layers of turnip and sweet potato slices, overlapping slightly, alternating. salt and pepper lightly as you go. Pour the apple juice over this. Top with crumb mixture: Melt the butter, stir in bread crumbs, pecans and chopped parsley (or cilantro) Cover with foil and bake 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake until vegetables are tender and top is golden - about another 20-23 minutes. I have substituted sliced apples in place of turnip. Goes well with ham or turkey.

ok back to sorting out dinner - grilled bonless, skinless chicken fillets tonite
and the torte is: Chocolate Lover's Torte 6 oz bittersweet chocolate 1/2 cup unsalted butter 1 cup sugar 4 large eggs 1/2 cocoa powder 1. Preheat oven to 350F. Grease 8-inch round baking pan. 2. In a double boiler melt chocolate and butter. Stir until smooth. Remove from heat add sugar. Whisk in eggs one at a time. 3. Sift cocoa over chocolate mixture and whisk until just combined. 4. Pour batter into pan and bake for 40-45 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes then invert onto a serving plate. Cool completely. Serves 8 350 calories 23g fat

sprite, it worked, but it varies from day to day and won't settle down for 6 weeks or so. I get the other eye done on Oct 15 so it will be another 6 weeks after that before I know exactly how good the eyesight will be.

Ardilla, given that she is good Mum to the other children, maybe having twins felt too much for her and now she may not be well, hence the current difficulties which could be be compounded by her Mother.
i guess that could be a possibility but i can't forgive her for being so spitefully now

Hey y'all. I need to ask all of you something. Do you know of anyone who had Polio? It seem that many of us are experiencing Post Polio Syndrome. (not plesant) Any way, there's an organization called Options, the Polio Sociiety Newslatter. They give lots good advice and were having seminars once a year....their headquarters is in Washington, DC I would like to form a support group here...but don't have any names...although I have seen a couple of people in the super market who, obviously, were post polio patients....my neurologist doesn't know all that much about polio but he helps me as best he can.

karen is 22 and her daughter is 18 months old she's a good mum, she's very clever and she hasn't let it beat her, nicola is 17 her baby is 4 months old and she never let it get to her, but it's left some scars, a steep learning curve in taking nothing for granted
they couldn't plan days out or nights out with their friends,s chool trips were impossible , small things like that
