in my last court date 3 weeks ago, the way I presented myself, sans lawyer, came across very well. The judge put me into HER diary as she wanted to judge the final hearing... prick screwed up and he got crap from her!

well, find a local sports club, get him into a youth system that helps out kids... get him volunteering to help teenagers... there is plenty out there

My cat brought me a gift last year...I opened up the kitchen door into the garage and he had brought me a dead rat from outside...daughter and I both screamed!
sealed up holes around the chimney and replaced all the windows with ones that have screens

I had a Canadian colleague who, after a really nasty Chicago winter (-30C temps with 60kph winds) took a summer vacation to Baffin Island. I thought he was nuts although right now I think it would be quite refreshing

When I look at a kid I estimate their wt in kilos. 12 mo old = 10 kg, 3 yr old = 15 kg, 5 yr old = 20 kg, etc

It is very confusing, unnecessarily so in this teacher's opinion, to have both metric and "customary" measures taught in schools. I would think that picking just one in the early grades and really learning that and then learning the other in middle school when algebra is taught (conversions are a natural thing to put in at that point) would be more logical. In my increasingly humble opinion...

I agree, stid - when I was in middle school we learned the "metric system", except what we really learned was how to convert from English to metric - needless to say everyone thought the "metric system" was too hard :-(
