yes, many schools in snowier areas have long breaks. They tend to start and end earlier too. (Aug-May rather than late Sept-mid June). around here, 2-3 weeks is the norm even for colleges.
I have played it some too, diane! like it a lot, but I am not very good at things like that.
I did manage to get all the challenges, complete the game totally, but that was before I got hooked on the computer ! LOL
our schools wont break til almost christmas, then back shortly after the new year.
ours break just before christmas and come back in the first monday of the new year,snow or not..i hope this year it does not get to the top of the stop signs again:(
the school I was in yesterday goes until Dec 21, the ones in our county finish Dec 16. BUT I think the ones in the next county over will be finished earlier in the year. Our local schools went until June 24 last year! TOOO late

the kids "finally" talked their dad into buying a snowblower ( he's 73 ) and he has fun with it. Does down the whole block, and several driveways along the route where "older" people dwell ! ( a couple of widows )

my neighbor across the street has done our driveway for the last two winters. his wife said he had to figure out a way to put that "toy" to use! now that hubz has one, maybe the two of them will plow our street. LOL
there are people here who do the same for our walkways. They get out there with there toys and the next thing you know, the entire street is done on the sidewalk.
our neighbors of 40 years, are looking after our walks and driveway while we're gone. So far there hasn't been too much , but last year was almost a record for snowfall while we were down here.
We'll be home before Christmas this year and can take over from then on !!

but we have a school problem in this area wasaga beach has 15,000 people and no high school so they get bussed to here in collingwood,elmvale has a school for 900 packed with almost 1000,so no inside gymnasium,while on the other hand in midland they have a school that can hold 1400 with 600 kids in it..all this within one your of each other

and elmvale has to cloes in 3 year years cause it is falling apart
yeah, the local public schools are still in session until just before the holiday
imagine the cost of bussing 1000 kids from elmvale to midland twice a day and elmvales 1000 will put midland 200 over lolbut collingwood can take 100 more and it is maxed out..sheesh
