Are there any lists posted
I don't think so, gran. Lots of word counts in the log.
Hello Haz. Very sad to read about your Aunt. What an awful couple of weeks for you
Hello everyone else too
Good morning !
hi Car
Hello, lynxxx. It's been an awful shock, we'd been patiently waiting for the surgery but didn't really imagine she wouldn't pull through.
{{haz}}
I visited her last Friday and she was in good form. I'll remember her with great affection.
I know they always warn you about the dangers of surgery but I guess nobody ever really believes it.
Is she the last one of that generation in your family?
There is just one uncle left - he is so distraught because they were very close.
Oh dear
They were evacuated to the country during the war and loved to talk about their experiences.
It was actually while visiting them in the country village that my mother met my father (a native of the village). He used to say that he saw her walking down the street and fell in love.
a lovely story
The uncle lives close to you?
The funny thing was that when my mother passed away, friends had come to pay their respects. We told them the story, showed a picture of my mother at that age and the husband said 'I'd have fallen in love with her too!'
He lives about 30 miles away, lynxxx, and has had a hip replacement recently but is otherwise in good health.
the looks have been passed down the female side of the family obviously
I don't know - I'm more like my father in looks although the older I get the more I realise I'm like my mother in personality. I could never match her for energy, though.
She and my aunt were demon housecleaners. We used to laugh when they did the dishes together. The kitchen got springcleaned at the same time and they used to cross each other with cloths in hand and determined looks on their faces.
Really?! she must have been a whirlwind because you don't seem to stop
(and of course they weren't distracted by Babble)
She was amazing. I have fond memories of coming home from school and being asked earnestly 'Well, do you see the difference?' (She'd be red in the face with cloth in hand) I'd protest that I couldn't see any difference at all and she'd reply indignantly 'If you'd SEEN the dirt that came off this place!'
And days spent ironing in front of the TV cheering on Billy Jean King or Rod Laver at Wimbledon.
I wonder if there's any quick way of doing a list?
Housework is a thankless task, no-one ever notices any difference unless it was diabolical to start with. Gardening is almost as bad.
I did one before by pasting to word and then deleting the letters but it's pretty time-consuming.
Housework is something you do that nobody notices unless you don't do it.
I know - but I'd still rather do it than not!
Okay, taking a break to get warmed up a bit. See you later.
Bye Haz...keep warm and dry
Oh Haz am so sorry, I was not aware that you'd had yet another sad loss, my deepest condolonces to and your family!

Hi welki - and everybody else
uh oh. killed the chog.
nah, just staring at these letters here
me too - got 103 now but seem to have ground to a halt
name that proper noun! nissan model
hehe - my daughter drives one :)
good morning everyone:)
hey crossy
hi crossy
morning cross
bit of a stinker today
yep
mm,well, ill have a stab at it neverless
beginning to think so - but i did find 2 8s by myself, which is a first
i find that if i cannot rattle off my first 100 during my first sitting with my morning tea, then i know i will not finish it
i usually aim for half way before i resort to a list but am misisng lickety today before that point
bot versions of the metric equivalant of a yard are in here i see
ty crossy - hit me woth a fish
the proper one and the american one:)))))
*sings* hit me with your best fish... why don't you hit me with your best fish...
;-0
only if you have some good malt vinegar and tartar sauce
i am in germany and about to eat rollmops!!!!
...you're a real tough cookie with a long history, of breaking little fish, like the fish in ... uhm, er...
all i know about german food is good beer and good sausages
yum .. love herring
good beer, good sausages, good fish
think all the cheese comes form all the countries around - france, denmark, netherlands
well,we do fish rather well here as well
they have muenster though right?
what is muenster?
yugoslaavian beaver cheese? lol
yak cheese?
not sure i want to try that one crossy
it's deeelish, glan - soft, but sliceable, mild with a soft orange rind
but yak cheese sounds OK
god i love that monty python cheese clip
is it german welki? haven't seen it
but it sounds like the leerdamer, emmental and gouda i've been eating all week
i used to watch the monty python series on tv,and the movies as they came out,but the mrs looked at my like i was a raving lunatic
i love monty python
hmm .. google says it's american, but there's a french cheese called Munster - but i'll bet they're both equally delicious :)
glant, right now we have a amazing wedge of 5 year old apple wood smoked cheddar in da fridge
especially the dead parrot sketch and the cheese sketch
from quebec
he is not dead! he is pining...
(just google muenster)
pining? PINING!..his feet are nailed to the bloody perch!
good morning, everyone :)
howdy cybernan, today is is all about cheese and monty python
bbl i apparently have to go make a cake - so says my 3 yr old grand-daughter
happy babbling
tc glant
hi nan

suze!
you no speaka my language
Howdilly doo, neighbors!
oh nevermind, i get it (and got it ) lol
howdy judi
hey judi
and sue!
hi, crossy, welki, judi!
going to have to drive to work, got up too late to walk :-(
...you would not wish to walk to work her5e suze,we got another 3 inches of sloppy, wet heavy snow last night
hi sue and everyone who came in while my nose was in the grid
ah, just a dusting here
hi, nan!
Remember uusue... when the going gets tough, the tough call in sick!
sloppy mess here,no good for the ski hill or anyone else:(
can't call in sick, judi, it's the last day of classes
one drawback to being a university professor - no one else can teach my classes, at least not without advance notice (and sometimes not even then)
see? you need to train yourself a fill-in
you need a squire;)
mornin babblers
budget cuts, crossy - can probably only afford a squirrel
hi, eva!
someone you can apprentice for 10 or 20 years to carry all your gear and nod in all the right places
hi sue!
hi eva, hope things have evened out for you over the last few days
TY welki. hubby is still a little down, but handling things quite well. we are still busy, of course, but thats life, innit? heh
been a tough go for many babblers this month:(
tis the season, right crossy?
and does anyone know what is ailing mrp,s girl?
lots of us have had a bad year
indeed
no sh**, welki!
so, here's hoping 2012 will ease the collective burden on all our shoulders
myself,i have been told i may need artificial knees within 5 years:(
::dips glass into the jacuzzi to fill with champers:: hear, hear!
i seem to recall that she suffers from recurrent headaches, maybe migraines - fb is vague
Bummer, Crossy!
pours eva a glass...
bionic crossy - bet the knees will relieve your contstant pain
There are worse things than artificial knees, crossy :-)
i was hoping for artificial boobs. ;)
i am sure suze, better than a head transplant:))
lol, eva!
you'll be able to do all those squat-thrusts you've been putting off :)
well, maybe not, I've been told that I can't run with my fake knees
well, maybe not, I've been told that I can't run with my fake knees
lol,as it is now,if i drop money on the ground,i count it first just to see if it is worth bending down to pick up
i walk for a living,so that is forced retirement for me
ok, so no squat thrusts - just nice, long, pain-free walks
that would be fine indeed welki
So, are the bum knees hereditary or a side affect of all the cancer chemicals?
pain-free walking is nice. knee replacement did that for me.
and I must go now, see you all later!!
me, i'm on the way to the doc's in a couple of hours to see what's cooking in my ~pneumatic lungs~
no judi,i think it is repedative motion damage over 30 years running service stations
safe drive, sue
lol good luck welki
Ah. Manual labor will ruin you every time. That's why I try to avoid it as much as possible.
:)
good idea judi
Phffth. Yeah, right. Tell that to my back.
nbt and half way -- time for a break
Hi. On phone again. Crossie guess what
hi herin
ok if he won't ask I will - what?
Does anybody has the clues?
Hi. Hard to babble and type here
Nope Crossie needs to answer. NEEds
hi. back now - cake in oven, 3 yr old happy ;-)
babblers anonymous, under grid
well if that's the case I'm going to get some petrol - see you all later
That was a fast cake, Glant.
if there is a question for Crossy, the answer MUST be bacon.
Hi Katie and kenny. Ken if you need word list they are scattered throughout the chat.
Katie I did it
all in one mix using soft margarine and an electric whisk - 3 yr olds have no patience LOL
Good Morning Everybody! How are you all this sunny but Cold (14 F) Minnesota morning?
hi katie, nef
Hi Nef - tired but happy at German teatime - grandchildren are exhausting LOL
Glant cute. Nef that temp is obscene.
Aren't they though, Glant? But still very much loved! :-)
minus 5C at night here but about 2C in the daytime - hopig it doesn't snow before I have to leave on Monday
Well the heck did Croasy go? Doesn't he realise typing here on an iPhone sucks
*waiting for herin's news*
we're all waiting for herin's news
Not really, herin; 41 F below is obcene though (-40 F = -40 C I believe). NW MN is often that cold in January
Ok I have stopped smoking. Been two weeks. Done and done. Second chest infection this year put a boot in my bum
Is the big news that Herin's typing on an I-Phone?
woo hoo herin - that's fabulous
YAY, YAY, YAY, HERIN!!! WTG!!!
Oh! Good for you, Herin. Keep up the good work.
good for you, one more has stopped polluting the air (and her lungs!!)
No Judith that talking on an iPhone is a pain in the yes
Eyea
I have to agree about the I-Phone typing. However, we must remember that we look "cool" doing it.
Still looking for clues. Any help?
iThings are taking over the world
go to babblers anon down the page and you'll find
babblers anonymoys Kenny
*~*~*~*~*CONGRATULATIONS, HERIN!*~*~*~*~*~*
I went to buy a hifi a couple of weeks ago and they are clearly out of fashion - it was all iPod docking stations
Gotta split and earn some real money. BBL.
Yep seems the other half is cutting back to. No nagging. Judi. I am in the dark and in bed. No one can see me. Himself is asleep and I am counting babble tiled
bye judi
bye, judi
Bye Judi.
it's hard work, herin --- but so worth it. good for you!
Glant have you looke at Sony?
whats up herin?
I have stopped smoking for good done an dibe
ooh just found the bishop's hat and alt sp
YAAA FOR HERIN!!
any clues for the O in the top right corner?
your hard time will come when you've stopped for a month or so and tell yourself you have proved it so you can have another
never have another
but you're tough
i gave up in June 1982 - best thing I ever did
think eight Glant
Welki I needed to. Two lung issues in one year. No more. I had none for 48hrs half a one last Friday. Tossed that. Had half a one Sat tuned my stomach. Declared I was done and that is it
i was thinking 8 but didn;t get anywhere LOL
oc5
and people, when shopping for ebook readers this chrismas the rule of thumb is if you are outside north america get a sony reader..if you ware within north america get a nook or a sony or kobo reader and lastly if you ware withing the planet u.s.a you can get all of the above or run a kindle;))
when my husband and i quit, we put the ciggie money aside - and believe it or not, after a year, bought a truck
and oc8 but thats measuring
Went to babblers anon and did not see a thing. Can somebody on line enter them?
Vanilla the thing is that half a one was it. Welki wow. My friends stopped and saved for a two week trip to Thailand this year
finally got the oc5 thanks vanilla
Cross stupid Amazon to Australia has restrictions on some books
yw now go the other way to find the oc8
so, to 'measure' your success in other than a physical "i feel so much better" sort of way, try to start setting aside the $$ you'd normally spend on them
Look again under stats for Dec 3 (sic)
Which reminds me Crossie can you ping me a message on FB on free PDF books kindle format please
I'm not playing Babble today; the storage company brought ALL of Aunty's things here yesterday and we are madly sorting through everything. We have 2 rooms and the hallway filled with just boxes and so much furniture that one buffet is in front of the stove. The kids are helping us sort through it all; aour daughter is moving into the condo; so we have 5 boxes/ bags going: Ours, our son's the dtr's, donate, and throw. Now much to throw yet because Aunty had some pretty nice stuff.
herin, you'll be amazed (if you can resist dipping into the pot)
busy nef!
Welki we did that this week. I bought pizza for us Wednesday when I forgot to defrost the chicken for dinner. I though we were skint
please may i have a clue for the 9
and welki has excellent advice re: saving the money you'd have spent for cigs. I never smoked; but I know several family members who did and also got new vehicles (after a year of putting that $$ aside
poetic rhythm w/ 8 stresses
Nef those items of your Aunts would fascinate me.
oc9 think eight and measure
herin; some of them are fascinating to us to! She has her mother's autograph book; and the entries are from the 1890's to 1925!
I said oc8 to Glant sorry its oc9
Right now we have bills to pay. Electric company to sort out when they stop being stupid and an empty freezer as it is our monthly shop again
Well, DH is now up and my coffee is done. BBL. Happy Babbling Everybody!
Nef that is a treasure. Is there any way to safely transfer the paper to digital for both family record and sharing? Also do you guys have Officeworks?
ty vanilla - got it now
Nef before you go can I suggest you try and find a plae that has a Kodak scanner hopper where you can scan in a lot of photos at a time and put to disk
We don't have officeworks, Herin; what is that? I was thinking of scanning some of this into the computer to share with some of hubby's cousins (Aunty was his Aunt; not mine
yw
All I see when I go to babblers anon in General and go to Dec 3 is BabbleRabble profile. No clues. What am I doing wrong?
sorry herin, this is why i do not reccomend the kindle to anyone outside of the usa.amazon and the proprietary file format they use make it too hard to use
herin, I'm not sure what a Kodak scanner hopper is either (sorry, my age is showing) <blush>
doesn't vallelmomdee have one in her profile today? she always used to
all my books are in pdf, which is passable at best or Epub
did you click on it?
crossy - all my friends in the UK have kindles - thye say the ponly drawback is that you can only buy books form amaon
Nef if you go to google Officeworks you should get a page. On there there is a Kodak hopper scanner that scans many photos at once
*only
this is very true glant
i can use books from any source with my nook
click on list Dec 3...
ah. i decided i like the weight and the ability to turn paper pages too much to want an ebook reader
Glant, is that the Welsh flag?
they are nice glant if like me,your home is bluging with book cases..now i can carry 500 books in one device
bichon it is the german flag as i have been in germany since 23rd nov
i like the bulging bookcases too crossy LOL
Yes Grant I clicked on it and nothing happened.
Doh, thought it was. Where in Deutschland?
the welsh flag has a lovely red dragon in the middle of it
Okay, herin; that sounds like something I can do. I'm getting a new G5 for Christmas and will see how that works before I change computers. (Current mac won't upgrade anymore; son says it's too old)
Celle, abit 30 miles NE of Hannover
this grid really needs an N
You've got to be kidding. That's my hubby's birthplace!
poor herin..i could offer you 500 books right now,if you had anything but a kindle:(
Cell or Hannover?
I just tried it again to make sure and it worked, though a bit slowly
I copied and pasted the list into my profile if that is easier for anyone.
What are you doing there. I've visited the church there. It has the Konerding coat of arms
Celle.
It was in '47 and the hospital didn't have a roof
DH is now starting to nag; BBL for my next break! ;-)
poof!
My daughter and her husband have lived here for about 17 months so I come and visit every 4 months or so
I don't remember it very well, but the church was nice
They will be here uintil next summer - he is in the army
Nef as I said an office supply store one wet you do your own printing should have this machine it is by Kodak and right now brain not function
the buildings in the town centre mostly date form the 1400s and 1500s and are pretty
Cross I would be interested to look at the e books myself.
Must tell DH
haven't been in the church but the Christmas market is there at the moment and that adds to the atmosphere - I love the Gluwein
GOT IT!!!!!!!
well done Kenny
ok herin, just e mail me at p.a.melbourne at gmail.com and i can send you one of my book lists
DH is dying to go back and visit the Kristalmarkt
And once again Babble proves how small a world is
yes it is!!!!
Cross can you email mr at her _ infernal _ ladyship at yahoo dot com. Can't do anything on the phine
I'd never heard of Celle before my SIL got his posting
this grid does need an n. I want to make japan
Glant how far from home are you?
i'm having trouble with words beginning with A
china is in vogue today bichon
I am an hour's drive, an hour's flight, then 5 hous drive
or 12 hours drive if I took the car via the Channel tunnel or ferry
herin, that email comes back as not valid
Ok so you are to
then you'd hae a car there. but, you'd have to drive on the right
Cross minus the spaces
her_ etc
driving on the right is fine - done it in US, France and other european countries
ok it is sent
now there are only 300 or so there, but you will find something you like i am sure
Bichon we use the saying Tight right loss left when driving in Europe
Thanks Cross
I don't think I could do it. I'm 65, too old to learn
clue pls for la8/40
Glant that distance to me is like driving to a friends house up in the country and back. Spins me out tht distance is a whole other country.
Herin - not only a whole other cpuntry but would have to drive through England, France, Netherlands before getting to Germany LOL
la5/10 + ite
ty Glant
driving on the righgt is fine if you drive a left hand drive automatic car
same here herin i find it wild they can drive just for an hour or 2 in europe and have to show the passport 3 or 4 times.when we lived up north we once had to drive 2 hours just to get to a paved road and the nerest grocer lol
tyvm
on one job,i had to drive 3 hours and 10 min each way..lol,6 hours driving just to go to work each day
I have no Seneca
I have no clue about driving which is why I don't have a licence. May get in the car and drive and not come back for days
oh how fun..to come in on a driving discussion...
lol
all i can say is thank god for heated seats :)
howdy carlee
i do not have that luxury
and thank god i dont have to drive far today :p
( comes standard onmy car..not a luxury)
we got 4 more inches of wet sloppy snow last night carlee
total mess out there
we got a dusting...I am just so freakin tired....and i have so much to do
i have work this afternoon..a physics test tonight..cookie decorating tomorrow for pathfinders..sunday to london for my physics presentationa nd an essay due tues...

( and i work on sun too.from 6- noon)
busy girl
My bf was telling me a work mate o his who visits Canada a lot was saying Canada in winter the car has an electric blanket like reverse air con and you ignore the needs water sign as you don't need a frozen rnguim
lol herin, yes we have heaters in our cars, and we fill our radiators with half water and half antifreeze
O and Canadians don't understand Aussies so we invade Bamff in winter
( half water and half vodka would likely work to crossy
No not in the at ON the car at nnight.
lol,i was born in uk and am welsh of origin..i understand aussies...well everything but that vegemite goop
what about bacon flavored vegamite?
ewww
there are heaters herin..and there are built in heaters as well u can plug in to keep your car from freezing
The car gets its own blankie at night so it doesn't freeze
I wouldn't eat it, but you might, I thought
lol,i do not cover my car in a blanket but at minus 35 it groans a bit when you start it
pewt
Bich too salty. Bacon ice cream Rocks
sorry
when we were up north,my da used to cover the engine in a blanket when it went below minus 40

hi all
My favorite new term is "pity fishing". I know SO many people who do that.
hi jmc
hi, jmc and molly!
pity fishing? they feel sorry for the fish that need to be caught?
morning, molly
pity fishing?
see it's not just me glan wants to know too
I assume it's like fishing for compliments, except fishing for pity
Yes, fishing for pity
wonder why anybody would want to do that
Over active need for attention
there are better ways of getting it ;-)
Someone who thrives on playing the victim, loves to hear "oh you poor thing"
It's very dysfunctional Glant. Be glad you don't understand it.
hello all
hi folks
hi, welki and TO!
i don't feel the need to get people's attention, but a little thanks is always nice if I've worked particularly hard or done something especially nice
Hi TempleOwl
Hi Sue
hi, glant!
whenever i load licketys babble clues it tells me its a malicious code site
hi uu and glan! and welk and moll (looks around for others)
and i actually loaded it last week and ended up with a virus so i suspect it
uh oh what did the virus do?
it was one of those fake systems restore things
tells you your hard drive is corrupt, ram is corrupt, opens 40 error messages
i fixed it but when i try to load licketys page it still says that to me
i don't knoww, do you meanr "YOUR COMPUTER US AT RIASK!" RUn whatever
Hi Wyrd - did that to me a while ago but it's fine
hi, wyrd! lickety seems to be fixed now, no more error messages
i shall try again sue, thanks so much everyone
oh no! i did note get that
just the message - not the virus
i also get no more error mssg
i just tried yesterday and it said it again, now its ok

Hi Nan
Baron Barracuda and Minerva Mermaid. (Shudder)
hello
I will not sleep tonight.
Hi ruby.
just found 2 wonderful clues in the chog, thanks!
122 words this AM
(((RUBY)))
HI Ruby
I missed out on all those cartoon shows -- didn't have a TV 'til I was 10 and then, again, didn't have one until my son was 7.
{{crossy}}
((molly))
{(kaplan)}
Probably better that way for you Ruby. Kids like Kap and I were tainted.
may I have the stats (or even a clue) for the 9, pls?
you don't sound tainted to me! I'm just addicted to movies, that's all
i was ruined,i can remember all the lines from every warner brother cartoon from 1955-1985,but cannot remember where i left my darn watch!
hahah
oc9, ruby. measurement for a squid suit
squid suit?
it,s ture! my son has discovered the teltoon retro channel and they play the old bugs bunny road runner show, and i am in the kitchen cooking and reciting the lines 10 seconds before the characters say them on the tv
true
great clue and funny, besides. Thank you IBD!
my son had a road runner on his deck; he said it was just like the cartoon!
well, it's not octmeter
hi ruby, long time no see
Add an A Nan
put a vowel in the middle
hello bichon, very happy to see you!
close, nan. slip a vowel inbetween the t and the m
and exactly what does it mean when to watch all your favorite shows you have to go to deja view, teletoon retro or the history channel?
oh -- got it -- ty
how was your Thanksgiving?
deja view, really? that is a great title
I cancelled it....
yup one of the mrs fave channels ruby
ok, why, bad timing
too hard to cook with my sprained hand
and I'm lazy, besides....
you have a boo-boo on your hand?
you have a boo-boo on your hand?
wish i had been there to cook for you ruby
Polo ran away, we he came back
I had a really stupid fall and it's hard to cook
me, too, crossy - bacon-stuffed turkey?
where did polo go? was he in danger?
I was walking in the woods with the fluffs and a deer ran across our path. He bolted and pulled the leash out of my hand.
at least there wasn't a road
We looked and looked for him. When we stopped looking and came home, he was sitting in the driveway.
that is so cute!
The lucky little guy managed to get across streets and navigate his way home.
need an 8 for nbs
he must be very smart
or, as Napoleon said, Better to be lucky than smart!
ma-8
I don't know about smart, good instincts more likely
lol,do not laugh,i would of done a whole turkey breast with taters, bab carrots valencia onions sausage meat stuffing, then i would of braided a little blanket of bacon slices and laid it over the fird to add flavour and make it nice and juicy..gravy,cranberries and yorshire pudding all nice and crunchy then a nice dutrch apple crumble pie and a scoop of french vanillia ice cream on da side
ty creeta
I'll be on the next plane, crossy
lol
ty creeta, looking
erem*** is a nice phantom
don't get the ma8
Phantom - perimeter
haven't found it either bichon
when you hit the meat with a mallet to tenderize it
ma8 - to chew
and altimeter
it's not a phantom ruby...
masticate?
OMG, when I first typed it in, it didn't take. I'm so sorry!!!
got, ty
ty ruby:)))
now you get two scoops with you dutch apple pie
and do you know the diff between erem*** and ca**m***?
how many ma words, plz? list shows 5...and I have 6 already
feeling dense -- don't know the erem*** and don't see the ma 8 either
we call pounding meat with a mallet tenderizing
and chewing masticating
I was wrong with my definition
it actually means to soak/soften. You do with fruit in cooking.
nan think fresh fruit setting with sugar on it
i keep looking for masticate and am blinded
no idea -- never use anything but fresh fruit
sugar and brandy
start with the spice, crossy
I don't know--- don't make whatever that is
leave out the first t, use an e instead of an i . . .
I think it's called "rumtopf" or something - you put the fruit in a crock with sugar and alcohol and leave it for months
what spice? -- something new in the recipe?
seems to me it would totter drunkenly away....
lol,sounds like home made booze
ma4/6
rum pot? -- have a friend that makes that, but all she does is wash the fruit and pour rum over it
I've made creme de cassis and creme de murs with my own fruit, neither one particularly good
ty ruby,i just took the spray that blinds people and used morewords for the rest
still have no idea what the ma 8 could be -- how many points?
A spice that most people don't use a lot of. Think of what you spray in an attackers face
50
funny, molly, I didn't even think of that. Is it the same stuff?
now they carry capsian spray
from hot red peppers
indeed
No Ruby, not the same stuff. ma4 is a pepper spray, a club and a spice.
there's the ceremonial, or royal ma** + **** of exchange
2 squirts on your meal and you are instantly south of the border:))
I wondered if they made the spray from the spice. I used to use it in curries
when I still did fancy cooking
husband still eats scotch bonnets in his salad and his eggs
i and 1 min south of blue mtn here as the crow flies but tween me and the hill they have placed a townhouse complex.and someone in there has a small dog that they tie up outside all day when they go to work..and the barking is echoing off the hill on still days like this and the sound is reverbarating for miles!
arrgh!
poor dog and poor crossy!
all 15,000 of us hear this dog...
all..day..long...
funny it barks in groups of 3...
then 30 second pause...
then 3 more rounds of barking..quite a pattern actually...
people like that shouldn't be allowed to have dogs
i agree
what will happen when it gets cold?
sorry - someone at the door. Got the spice -- do I extend it for the 8?
that i sdo not know,i have not actually laid eyes on the dog,it may have a dog house or a kennel run for all i know
yes, nan
foam
whoops
ty - got it -- whew!!!
i just hear his mighty little voice bouncing off the hill and reverbarating out into georgian bay lol
slinking away, sorry again
bad nel
off to do the grocery shopping -- just did the essentials yesterday, so have a long list for today
good night everybody
gn ruby
bye ruby
maybe i can adopt it..ill name it echo
or yodel
or sonar
lol
i never believed in anti barking ordinances until i lived in cluster housing.
well, they have them packed in there like sardines across the way
every house just like the last one
iyt used to be a nice marsh and the mrs and i would take our tea on the patio on nice spring days and watch the docks build their nests
ducks
the sound patterns...sound bounces off the houses and it is very weird whose noise bothers whom
i think everyone would draw the line on dogs outside barking for half an hour at 1 am
this one has been barking for....
5 hours and 19 minutes
poor animal, don't they get hoarse or worse?
in groups of 3,with 3 second pauses tween groups..:(
not this one,he has lungs like a bellows
30 seconds between groups*
hmm, thinkig of the seinfeld episode when elaine has newman kidnap the barking dog that keeps her up every night
lol, think i saw that one years ago..do not watch much tv now.just tune in when a good movie is listed
time to go. hapy babbling
There is NOTHING more annoying than a yappy dog that people refuse to let inside.
hi all, help with 9 and any of the 8's pls
am I invisible today?
Hi Peri. The 9 starts with a spice and means to chew
thanks got it
Nope, that is an 8, duh
I needed it anyway, Molly
do you know what the 9 starts with?
The 9 is oc9/66...think sea creature and a unit of measure
ty Molly, great clue
don't our candles look nice all in a row
They do, very pretty
adding my candle...
that is a pretty one amelu
bl
Hi everyone...
Hi Jaia
i thought et8 was two words, et, and then the rest of it. go figure.
hi again, all!
CLASSES ARE DONE!!!!!
That et word always makes me think of "The King & I"
ah, yes molly
i kinda liked the jodie foster "anna and the king"
ty for the et hint
yes, thanks, hurshy, I would not have thought of that as one word!
np
the little house eating bugger is in the grid
haha, i was like, who was the "eating bugger" on little house?
now i must leave you all and head to work, but before i go,here is crossy,s tidbit of the day!
*hopes it's ri5/20*
Poet and pre-Raphaelite painter Dante Gabriel Rosetti loved his wife, Elizabeth. How much did he love his wife, you ask? Well, after she died of a laudanum overdose in 1862, he buried her with the only existing copy of his unpublished poems. Seven years later, however, Rosetti found himself suffering from a really bad case of writers’ block, so he dug up her body and retrieved his poems. They were published in 1870 and were well received by critics, but he never forgave himself for pilfering them from her grave.
a totally unheard of type of seven-year itch
i'm off too, ttfn

Thr re is what you do to metal to make it shine again
I know, but she doesn't divide groups
i have it, divided in my profile
hi all
Divide groups? All you have to do is put a space where it's needed.
ty hootie
thank you for the re -- it was driving me crazy!!
yw
On my way to knock at hootowl's door...
oh - and why?
To use YOUR list....
wouldn't mind a visitor
aah - well it id BRs and it took me about 40min to fix it.
Thank you for fixing it!!
yw - it was that or wait.
On days when Hoot isn't around and being so gracious, all you have to do is copy the list into an Exel spread sheet or Word table and insert rows.
...and hope it's correct...
that would work but they were entere ab 5 12
all that spacing had to go!
I trust BR. He's good.
Entere ab 512???
no ab 5 12 not real just example
There was 4 speces in between parts
One morning, someone put a list in Babanon with the whole words in it, not just the first two letters. That was pretty funny. Sprite was good enough to fix it.
She uses the spreadsheet
what are you jolly folks babbling about this afternoon?
I recall when someone put all the complete words in the chog.
"The concluding section of a parashah" -- what have we done to deserve this, Dr. God?
Did I kill the chog again?
can anyone please clue me on the 9 letter word please
what are the stats?

Hoot says her list is accurate
You need one more of each Peri
Habes, your profile pic is truly lovely. What a very happy bride.
are they all 4 letter words
i have one more we than you...one we is a wi jsut spelled differently, one is to cry, one is past tense of was, and one is spelled same as last with different last letter
Hmmm...It shows 11 TA words. I have 11 TA words but they don't coincide with the list. I am missing a T word from the middle column and can't figure it out.

oh no.. another from that blog: During our math lesson on fractions we discussed the difference between the numerator and the denominator. I asked the kids for good tricks to avoid mixing the two up. One kid said "Well, you gotta think about them like people. The person on the bottom is the dominator because they're in charge!" Disturbing AND incorrect. Yikes.
that's what I am thinking, LBD. Right know I can handle it. And every difficult experience gives me more knowledge for the next time.

Sounds like my fella, Pickles. If it's noisy and violent and has at least 3 gory deaths within the first couple of minutes, it's for him!
Hi TO! xx
Jac, maybe we could send them together
I'd better stop chatting to poor Pickles. I think it's my fault she keeps getting her cursor in the wrong place.:-(
Pickles - yes.
xx back atcha!
TO - how are you?
gow many GL words?
cos - one.
Bit of a delay on the chog at the moment!
i'm ok jacs. i just came from the store and saw what would have been the perfect next card for fiona.
What was that TO?
cannot describe, had cats and fish
she loved creatures
Speaking of creatures - have you seen Ata's TV thing she did the day before yesterday? As you may know, she's a marine biologist and she was showing the reporter this horrible thing called a sea squirt.
I did ! wondering if it was on bbc america or if just local bbc
I did ! wondering if it was on bbc america or if just local bbc

she looks marvelous! i was surprised that they did not credit her.
Thought I'd better do the link again, since it split!
She does look good, yes!
my kingdom for a d
That creature seems like a nightmare, though. I wonder if they can find some way to kill it without destroying other stuff?
i emailed her three days ago but have not heard back
Pickles - Sorry, no d!
Evening, how neat about Atalante!
hi red!
TO - I think she's been a bit busy. Today, she had to destroy a ceiling vent in her kitchen to rescue a trapped bluetit.
hi!
Hi red.
a bluetit sounds painful
Hi Jacula!
Pickles! LOL! It's a little bird.
oh my. i am here starving, but too lazy to cook. pathetic.
TO - do some scrambled eggs or something else quick and nutritious.
i know
I vote for toast.
scrambled egg on toast with crispy bacon.
i don't have ther right bread. i canot eat eggs except on toast. and i am too pahtetic even to scranble eggs.
Pickles - you DO realise you have now given me a vision of poor Ata, struggling by her ceiling with a freezing cold bosom trapped in a vent? Oh my!
if i cook i will have to leave the second floor. i am barely heating the first to sace $
sorry again
If you don't eat something warm, TO, you'll get colder!
lol@ pickles
well, there is always cereal. no cooking involved. You do have to have cereal though.
3rd day with the fi4/8 clue
i do. no milk, but i do have cereal. which is more than i can say for this grid. i tried it three times.
Hello Shirlockc.
hey all
well dry cereal, and water...or be hungry!
TO - I didn't 'see' that as a phantom but I do now you've mentioned it.
:P
i really need to shop. i came home from the supermarket with a pear and rainchecks
TO - have you got yoghurt? You can have your cereal in that with some honey.
i just got a kind of cereal for 32 pts!
well yes, pickles, you are right. i have that but they changed the formaula and i cannot stomach my erstwhile favorite
thanks Pickles.
jacs: got a RAINCHECK . do you have them in england? when stuff is out of stock when it is on sale?
am7/32 (both) - ambrosia of the gods. It gives you immortality.
TO - not sure what you mean.
Sorry, meant am7/32 (2nd) and am6.21.
if a store adverstises a sale, and the item is out of stock, it is the law that they allow you to buy it when it arrives at the sale price. unless they advertise quantities limited, no rainchecks.
I can not recall why they are called rainchecks though.
The first am7/32 is the same as em7/32 - Afghan ruler's region.
TO - No, I don't think we have those here.
ap7/32 describes a church with no aisles. (Extend the ap5/12 before it.)
how may am7/32 please? i only have the mineral
TO - 2. I've clued both.
isn't the saddle 7/52? that and the mineral is what i saw you clue
The saddle is aP7/52
Scroll down TO.
how about a j word?
bbs. must put wash ito dryer. think ballet leap oick
ja4/10 - a prank or joke. ja5/22 - one who does that. je4/9 - a jump/grand move in ballet.
thanks need 2 more j
TO - make some food while you're out there!!
Pickles - just clued all 3. Look below.
BTW, Pickles. I think TO meant to type 'pick' not 'oick'. LOL
What's wrong w/me tonite? I still have 47 left and I'm completely babbled. TR7 can't be that hard to findbut believe me I can't! Help?please.
they lie there are not 241 words in thi spuzzle
I agree. I think I've found all there is.
and then some
gramme - tr7 - Latin name for red hot poker plant or torch lily.
ty
again I would never have found that
y/w
Just ask if you need clues.
I assume you've found to6/21 - salad ingredient/love apple?
thank yee
And te7/32 - ti4/5 when the Earl Grey and the cucumber sandwiches are served.
ta6/24 - tarry road surfacing.
Kniphofia?
TO - No. The Latin name.
ty
y/w
ok only 158 left
Knipof was the botanist who discovered the plant.
I have 112 left. slow going...
i need 32. four are 8 letter words.
wi7/48 - Nixon was probably guilty of this.
I dont have any 8!
ty again
ca8/50 - a boy kept for sex with a man.
84 to go, 4 x 8's to go and getting more so please keep going Jac! (0:
eg8/50 - rambling rose (old name)
wow i actually knew that ca8 word
et8/45 - it means extra things/and so on - usually written as an abbreviation but spoken in full.
Shirlock - Oh!
la8/40 is a type of red soil atop rock. la4/4 (tardy) + priests perform a religious ****.
ma8/50 - to soften things by soaking them in liquid.
It's a british invasion again!!! (((Hugs Lindy and Jac))) I haven't seen you-all in AGES!
ty jacula, down to 82 to go and only 2 x 8s needed! lol
keep them coming jacula
et 8 is two words
Hi Lindy.
cannot google those roses
Hi everyone, ((Jac)) ((stid))
don't get the ma 8 !
I thought the MA 8 meant to chew food?
TO - et8 can be done both ways in English.
masticate is not there!
Stid - no, that's masticate.
eg8 - eg + 'tardy' + ** department in hospital (think Mr. Clooney!)
oh -- thanks! I was confuzzled... but have the right word. start with a prefix for a name common in Scotland and end like putting air in something for the ma 8
ty
that is five of six
that eg 8 is tricky
That reminds me of the first time I asked my stepdaughter not to masticate so loud and she looked at me aghast. You can imagine what word she 'thought' I said.
wow, I picked a good time to show up! LOL
(She IS rather a noisy ea5/10! LOL)
ty stid got it!
rofl jac!
LOL jac
Ahem...department in a hospital, reversed. : )

Speaking of scary - af6.27 and af5/16 sound like that, and were often used that way. Actually, the word(s) are the name for an Arabian monster.

tx i finally got it
b***, stid
I've just had to remove the cat from the bathroom. He's been lying in front of the washbasin there since 8pm. He likes to lie on the floor above the hot water pipes and use the bathroom rug as a blanket. I picked him up and told him to take himself downstairs to his bedroom (the utility room) and he just lay down on the landing floor by the top step and became floppy velcro cat when I tried to pick him up. He was so relaxed, I think I could have done that 'How To Wrap A Cat For Christmas' thing on him!
oh my, jac! what a funny thing!
LOL Jac!

Please watch that link below and turn your sound on.

Will do, TO.
'Bye Lindy.xx
love ya, Lindy! sweet dreams
you too dawg! (0:
bye, stiddy
bye Jac
pa 5 after to peel please?
TO - the lionhead rabbit and the ginger kitten?
TO - pa5 - add a vowel to the end.
finally nailed all the a's.. this is slow going
ty, i did not see that vowel
Peri will be pleased; she's beating me in our word game on FB.
ap7 the 1st?
ca 8 please
My cousin's wife is going off on various political rants on FB at the moment. Once she's had a bit more to drink, she will post belly dancing stuff and I will then join in and comment.
tap + *** you going to the fair + come **in me in the PB for a libation
ca8, not dog + vowel + little bug
Shirlock - ap7 (1st) - add Mr. Gore or Mr. Bundy, or Mr. Pacino to the end of the word before it.
eek, what a word, thx lbd
thank you lbd
rure - ca8 is a boy kept for sex with a man.
must be a penn state thing jac..
BTW, when I mentioned my cousin's wi4/11, I wasn't talking about Peri!
No, my cousin's wi4/11 is in Scotland.
I think all the difficult words have been clued now. Time to ask for 'fishy' ones...
clue for pa 5/12 (first one) please
add a vowel to the word before it
Hi wvteach. Add a vowel to the end of the peeling word before it.
Hello majmom.
thnx jacula and majmom
y/w
yw-but have to credit ib for the clue earlier
er7?
Drat! Peri beat me in the FB word game. LOL
ruru -er7 = a hermit. er + vowel + small creature that might live in dust.
thank you jac
Wish I hadn't clued that, it's making me itch!
y/w, ruru.
I seem to be having trouble with this grid.
I'll help if I can, ruru.
I'd say 'blame FMitch!', but we can no longer do so. or can we? I wonder.x
my computer is acting up and there is such a lag
Bit of a lag here, too, ruru.
It's improved in the last 20 mins or so here.
I'd love to blame FM..but..I really miss here
any clues for oc 9
kind of like a cockney hermit jacs
et8 I can't find
fo7?
Maybe we should keep on blaming her? It'll probably keep her happy up there. I'm sure she'd be bored just playing a harp.
et8...spell out the abbreviation for and so on, and so on and so on
lol
ruru - et8 is a word we use a lot. It's abbreviated when we right it but we say it in full.
Shirlock - fo7 - more full of soapsuds.
got it.. I didn't realize it was spelled that way
thank you both
y/w
dang, didn't see the other way, thx jac
this is a grid
grind
Molly.... you made me think of Yul Brynner in the King And I !! :-)
now i am sitting here looking at the cards she sent me.
y/w, too.
grid, grind, dig, drag... that's Babble!
hi
Hello Herin.
Diane, that word always makes me think of Yul Brynner.
TO - glad you have them.x
so am i x
that makes two of us then, Molly :-))
oc 9 any clues?
evenin babblers!
majmom - rhyme with 8 metric feet.
the prefix for 8 and then unit of measurement
Hi EvaN.
thanks Shirl !.... good clue
tx got it
HI Eva, Hi Jacula
I have NO idea what Diane and Molly are talking about re Mr. Baldy (Yul Brinner.)
I don't think the 8's are real
Herin - they are. Type them in and suspend your disbelief.
hi jac, hi diane. hi molly, hi herin.
from the movie The King and I ( aka, Anna and the King of Siam ) When Yul, the king wanted to impress people with facts he didn't really know anything about, he would say a few words and then that et8 word.....
thanks diane. got that one right away. :)
Jac I mean they aren't in the grid. They are hiding. Hello back
Hi Eva, how is sad husband doing?
I loved that movie !
Did I just type 'when we right it'?? Shock! Horror! How many more screamers can I add to this post?!!! I meant 'write'. x
Diane, I could watch the "Shall We Dance" scene over and over. It's one of the best dance scenes in a movie ever.
husband is ok, thanks. :)
Thanks, Diane. I saw that film back in the 60s and so didn't remember the detail.
s'ok jacs
That was VERY long for a clue, Eva... I was just explaining the reference to Yul Brynner to Jacula
Eva what happened?
herin, i think you saw on FB. we had a pet death earlier int he week.
O yes. The lizard :(
diane: meanwhile, im still noodling the OC8...heh
EvaN - I didn't see that on FB, but sorry to hear it. Too many deaths lately, both animal and human.
I don't have it either, Eva
TY jac. hubby was very upset about it. broken down in tears, ugly-crying. i felt horrible for him.
oc8 = first 3 letters of the 10th month of the year, then a vowel, then a thing that measures stuff.
I guess he loved that lizard, EvaN.
he cared for that lizard more than most people
oops... I did have it from a very good clue given earlier
Awww Poor Hubby Eva. Animals regardless of species each have their own special quirks
That 8 isn't there
wow. why can i not get this OC8?
Ok that got me the 9
don't be looking for a second "O" herin
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
For those of you that don't know, Haz not only had to have Spangle put to sleep and watch her big, strong vet hubby fall apart as it happened, then Fiona, her Babble and real life friend died, and then, just for a turn of the screw, her aunt died on the operating table. I was reading what Haz said aout her Mum and her aunt in the chog much earlier - they were demon housewives.
Hi Min.
Hi Min.... good to see you :-)
HI min.
oh dear, jac. i didnt know about Spangle! and her aunt too?! oh, poor haz must be a raw nerve by now.
jac .. haz must be feeling like job right about now. wish we could do something for her
I see a lot of people are still posting lists. I can see no problem with Lickety's list now (don't use Expert, so can't comment on that).
My heart goes how to Haz!What an awful time for her
I checked out Lickety's.... it's yesterday's grid
does anyone else have a list besides the one in Babblers Anon? That list only shows 29 m's and there's 30?
Hello Dorens! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
I missed Haz last night Poor love. I heart went out to her
just opened lickety and found yesterday, what do you see jac?
Hi LuvWordGames! How are you? Welcome to the grid
hi min .. how are you?
Luv - Hootowl has one,
Is there an Oc 8?
im still lost on this OC8. might hafta ignore it.
no
Hi Min, I'm fine except for my M quandray, and you?
how many re pls?
thanks saanic!
it is oc 9
SO there is no OC8 and you have all made me nuts?
Dorens - don't know, 'cos I didn't use the list. Not because I 'hate' it, like MrP seems to think right now, but because I've been Babbling for a long time and get most of the words. When weird words appear, I always appreciate a list.
ma 6/30 ? anyone
well, THAT explains it! it IS a 9, not an 8!
Luv Your dog so cute
Hi Ru
17 re words, TO.
TY saanichcat
iroic if it were an 8, no?
yup. well. i usually get pretty far before opening it, but have very little time right now and got to 75, looking now and not finding today. oh well
ty
hi herin
I am exhausted!I had a very busy week at work and I had almost no time to Babble!Hope to relax tomorrow
and hi owl, herin, evaN and ruru
i have so much to do and no inclination to do it. Shopping day PLAH
ooooh, so sorry.... it is a *9* !
I think the m's are worse than the a's
Hello saanichat! How are you doing? Welcome to grid.
are there 6 ma's? If so, what are the stats for the last ma please?
Hi 2 Temple Owl! How are you doing? Welcome to grid.
Hello rururocks! How are you doing? Welcome to grid.
nevermind, figured it out finally
hi min
Ok this is frustrating. Last night words wouldn't go in and now they are
i had a hellish week and next week doesn't promise to be much better. taking granddaughter to see the nutcracker on sunday, which will be the highlight of the week. driving up and back from boston in order to do it is taking time away from many other things... oh well
hello doren. hi min
hi there Min! I'm "lurking" and doing stuff at the same time so I don't usually get a chance to chat. Back now to finish up the grisly last 30.
Dorens the ballet?
yes indeedy. has become an annual thing for us. lots of fu really
My Mum and my Beloved seem to think I'm developing pluerisy after this 3-week cold virus I've had. They may be right. I hope they're not. However, if I disappear for a while soon, they might have been right.
O I wanna go (bottom lip pout)
O Jac not good. My friend is still all out of sorts from August thingy that he got
jac. lots of folks over here have had long bouts with nasty coughs.. herin, if you can make it to boston, I'll give you MY ticket!
oh jeezus.. no wonder I can't finish this thing... these aren't words
dam tootin, ru
nice to see you jacs and ty for the clues earlier. time to go
Dorens - that's comforting to hear. Did they also have pains in both shoulder blades when trying to breathe and feel like all the energy had been drained out of them? Please tell me they did!
Dorens I have only once seen the proper Nutcracker Ballet when I was 5. I saw the Australian version a few years back it was lovely. It was one of the elder Prima Ballerina's last season
night owl
'Bye TO. See you again.
mi 6 please
not sure about the shoulder blades. but pain trying to breathe and energy definitely drained out
desert phenomenon, seeing things not there
Dorens, I think your Christmas outing with grand-girlie is one of the sweetest things I have ever heard about. I hope you two have special fun together.
meterite
funny herin. and phoebe is 5 now. but, spoiled child that she is, this is her third nutcracker. she now is a ballerina, however, who can do things on her tippytoes and has a tutu and real pink ballet toe shoes and dreams of being in it
mi6/27 - desert thing imagined.
Dorens the one I saw was The Nutcracker - Clara's Story
awwwwwwwwwwwww
mi6/21 - to do with heart valves.
thank you.I"m missing even the easy ones in this grid
Dorens: http://ballerinaproject.com/ Pheobe will LOVE this site
last time i was there, we discussed clothes. I was asked to purchase PEARLS for her. And i did (amazon. real cheapies). and i asked her what type of dress she wanted and was told black, purple, pink or rainbow
Dorens - thank you for the reassurance. Maybe I'm not quite a death's door yet. x
So i have a black and purple velvet dress to bring, along with the pearls, and a headband with pearls, and asked her this evening if she has black tights and she said buy them for me PLEASE. so i have my orders
jac. i sure hope i'm right. and if not, don't sue me for malpractice. my insurance has lapsed
herin, will check it out
It is a ballet site. OMG Dorens so super adorable.
Dorens - I won't unless desperate!
hi everyone
Grandchildren sure sound like tyrants! I can say this, since I don't have any yet.
<---Wants pictures of cutie pie in her Nutcracker finery.
Hi Jen.
you will keep me posted, jacs i hope
Hello Jen.
i am glad this week is over
she knows i'm a sucker for her and will buy her anything. it is so pathetic. yet i am sterner than her parents about some things. Molly i hope i will get a picture.
I think grandchildren sound like magic. Can't wait!
Dorens I'll try - unless death's trapdoor opens, which it had better NOT. My friend Hazel has had enough on her pl5/12 lately, without adding me to the mix.
and the little boy in the picture intends to join us next year. it will be her call. and yes they certainly are
Dorens you are a Grandma that is your job
oh jac you bite your tongue! don't you dare think of even joking like that... at least not now, not to haz!!!
Jac knock it off.
Molly - I remember watching my mother-in-law lay eyes on her firstborn grandchild (my son) and watching a woman fall in love. I didn't believe you could actually see that happening before I saw it.
in about two years, herin, i just might retire and become a fulltime grandma. i think i'd just love that
Dorens I really think Phoebe will love the ballerina project. The pictures are so pretty
Sorry - black humour. Won't do any more.
lol
Haz would get the humour though, I promise you.
my son is flying to europe on the 8th for ten days.. and daughter in law might need to travel for her business... in which case, grandma will just have to leave school and drive back up to boston... and that will be just fine
sure she would, that is quite true... as fmitch would have for sure
Maybe not on the internet, but in person she would.
I believe it Jac. I dream on a regular basis about falling in love with my grands to be.
O gee Dorens that is terrible :P
actually the kids are so much more fun when their parents aren't around!!
and molly you will. but all in good time
I miss my Grandma but am very very blessed to be adopted by himselfs Gran. She is so feisty.
I have to add my 2 cents about grandkids. I have 3 grandsons that live a few blocks away. They are the loves of my life.......
Dorens, of course they are! They know their grandparents are a soft touch and aren't gonna snitch on them to their nasty strict parents.
Lucky Snags
I am truly blessed....... amen.
jac it is so different these days. Both parents work, and they don't all get home from daycare, school, etc until 6 - 6:30. so they don't have a lot of time together. The parents are so fantastic though... so as much as they love me, if parents are there I don't really interact with them as well as I do when they have no one but me to turn to
I have 10 grandkids.... the 7th one just entered her 20's today.... 3 more still in their teens .... They are a joy !
I thought I would never have grandchildren. Got two in '07 and one in '09.
I have an idea for my friends little ones first Christmas but first I have to run it past mum and dad which SUCKS as I would love to surprise them
ditto that diane.
re7 please
WOW Diane
I think Grandma is on 20 Grand kids and so many greats and I think 3 great great
nice bichon.
i am actually stricter than their parents. I am fussy about what she wears, what they eat, how they behave, etc. The parents allow a lot more "self-determination" than I ever did. She has gone to school without brushing her hair or changing her clothes more often than I can stand.
and one great grandbaby... I see her on Skype several times a week so that hopefully she won't make strange with me when we return home at Christmas.
never mind .. I found it
lucky and smart, diane
And here is me still wondering if I will ever be a grandma.
hang in there Jac
sorry ru. was it to serve again?
Just when you give up hope Jacula.
no.. thanks doren I found it
My Mother has given up on me. I think she is going to ship me the shoe box of stuff from my child hood. Said give them to friends but I think I will frame them
re 7?
I've a feeling my stepdaughter might get me there first, but that's not blood...
i have a friend at work who is probably dottier about her stepgrandkids than I am about my real ones
bichon, to fix silver so it shines again
bichon - re7 - to coat with me5/12 again or to put a me4/15 onto another pl5/12.
or set the table again with the dishes
We moved a bit as a kid so my mother kept one or two pairs of booties and stuff from each family member in a shoe box. That and we lived in the bush as a kid so we had to be fire ready
ty Shirl and saan
last fo please?
yw!
Herin - your adopted Mother?
Yep
"real blood" doen's matter as much as the bond you develop - we are traveling this weekend with my "special grandson" who has been a part of my life for 7 years - our bond is as strong as my other two "real" grindkids
My Mum
Dorens - fo + nasty little thing that might make you itch.
I think the list in Babb anon is wrong
ty, jacs
yes it is missing the last ma 5
well then ru, when you finish will you post us one? how many words have you left?
wvteach - almost 4 years on, I hope that bond will develop. She's nice and I'm nice, but the lurve isn't quite there.
Wv I am an ''Aunt'' to my best friends girl. Wouldn't have it any other way. Except the kid having less relatives for hand me downs so I could really spoil her rotten
i have 11 leftright now doren
Ruru - is it? In what way? If it's wrong I'll do my own list.
would love to trade places
the ta's are all wrong
babanon list is kinda screwy. check out volleymomdee for a better list.
thx for pointing that out ruru, thought i was going nuts
last ma5 - Hebrew word for the last reading from the weekly Torah.
no other explanation shirl
ma6/30 or last ma5??
Last ma5 is one who tries to procreate.
ma6.30 is the Hebrew word I just mentioned.
excited that i finished the f's without looking at the list, whether or not it works. but need 6 more m''s and haven't even begun to compare my list with the babanon list. darn. this takes so long
Last ma5 could also be your mother.
Sorry, I didn't check the BabAnon list since the Lickety list seemed to be working okay.
Incidentally, I think the problem is on my side mostly and not on my stepdaughter's.
tr7 please
which problem is that jac?
Dorens - me not feeling the love that I really want to and think I 'should'.
from what you've told me, i think that might be understandable jac
prefix for 3 + not from + not pa
rur - Latin name for the red hot poker plant or fire lily. And, no, it's not Knip word.
great clue dawg
I do my best though, Dorens.
thank you lbd

Thank you, Dorens. You've made me feel a lot better about myself.
And now I am royally confused
.... yes... a short drive.. I know.
oh. was reacting to 0 more
short putt, ru
honestly jacs, we all are probably doing the best we can, and sometimes it really doesn't feel llike it's good enough. feeling that way myself lately. but will muddle through
ok, so ru is being driven nuts, and herin is royally confused. hooray for babbleonia
gbr3fp20t4h]234 ntu3]9.. (head on keyboard)
hahahahaha
ru's knobby head types pretty good!
I might wander off shortly to do the cold butt on the nice, warm sleeping one in the bed already thing. Once he's shocked and awake, I will turn around and embrace his nice furry belly in a bear hug until he wriggles away to escape to the bathroom. Heh!xx:-))
sounds like a great idea jac
Jacula - i appreciate all those who help with lists, clues - thnx for your efforts
crossy looks down at his belly pelt..
sounds like you are sleeping with a bear
wvteach - thanks for the appreciation. It is welcome.
ruru - just a furry man. LOL

No chest hair to speak of crossy? I am disappointed. Am intrigued to know what names your existing chest hairs have though? Knights of the Round Table names, perchance?
not hairy on da chest, but the wide wide shoulders,i turn sideways to go through a standard door frame
and i can tell you the names but it will cost you a pound a name
:)
Got the wide shoulders, arrow-shaped body etc., crossy. Now tell me what names you give your rar chest hairs.

Still do, especially black, on any man but my love.

And I can't believe I just said that OUTLOUD
And I can't believe I just said that OUTLOUD
it is ok,i took a screen shot and can post it on facebook if you forget lol!
herin likes them smooth and hairless!!
My love gets a little cross when I go phwoar when I see blond Viking types on TV, He wasn't so cross when I became enamoured of Jason Momoa, a dark Hawaiian gy he played Ron Dex in 'Stargate Atlantis', but he still looked a little cross. I'm supposed to put up with his Kylie calendars right in front of my face every year in the office, though. Love ain't easy!
Thanks Cross knew I could count on you
No I like hair were it is meant to be.
I like men to look, feel and smell like men.
kylie minogue?
she has a butt you can crack eggs on:)))
Yea, crossy.
So why does he love my 'squidgey' butt??
cause kylie is vain and shallow and you are warm and smart and funny and share life with him'
Actually, myu bum's not huge, but it is bigger than Miss Mingogue's.
Aw, crossy. THANK YOU. You schmoozer!
AM7? please. Ihave the one that ends in the past tense of to consume food.
Reminds me of Germaine from Ill Will Press cartoon series Foamy the squirrel - I like the jiggly butts
gramma - same as the am5/21 below it in meaning.
I can't find an M word...have ma x 5; me x 15; mi x 6; and mo x 3...what am I missing?
What am5? Is Volleymom's list not accurate?
men like the eye candy true, but nothing beats a lady that knows you,how to make you laugh and how to support you when you are down,to overlook your faults ,a woman who you can sit under a shady tree all day with and talk about nothing at all..all night long, good women are often those who are not ravishing beauties
am + anagram of a word for oak, ash, pine or elm, + a definite article or vowel at the end.
am6/21 gramma
well,that almost worked..lol
True Cross. I saw 2 very pretty women the other day but sadly both had trowel faces
what is a trowel face?
crossy - as always, you said just the right thing and, when I shows this to Beloved he will agree with every word you've said.
ty jacula;)
Wow. I am not getting it. thanks anyway
No help with the M? it's a M5...is BR's list not complete?
Trowel Face - when one has applied so make up on they may as well have used a trowel
...except for the bit where you may not have perceived me as a ravishing beauty. Maybe I should leave now if Mrs. Crossy is presently beating you about the head with a blunt instrument?
am6/21 is am + Tom Hank's spouse **** Wilson gramma
Or should I hang around in case I need to call 911?
I have the 6. I think I need another am7?
evening all
Hello jesdraggon! How are you doing? Welcome to grid
Hi jess
Hello jess.
howdy jes,not to worry jacula, the mrs and i understand each other after 20 years, she knows i blather on about a wide range of topics ..but i always place her first in my life and my son
Just hanging around in case Crossy needs medical help.
Awwww puke Crossy
how goes?
i am fine;) and the mrs is pecking away beside me with her happy pets site
After a 22 year realtionship, 18 of them married and now going into year 9 with Beloved, I know what Crossy means. Just hope I've got it right this time, as Gerry Rafferty once said.
Awwww puke Crossy
Ok that is it I need ot go get coffee or something
lol,we are grossing herin out
I think i need something salty to go with the sweet there, crossy :)
crossy tosses jess some pringles
*nom*! :)
http://tinyurl.com/cba8zlx
Hey did you know the inventor of Pringles had his ashes put in a can and burried
Maybe Herin has not yet experienced what is is to be in love?
yes. jac I have
And am
Okay, Herin.x
Are you sure?
perhaps not, long time love and marriage is a tad different, you mature like a fine wine, you know what is worth fighting over and what is not,you learn that some things hurt and pass over some issues in silence for peace in the house.it is about give and take and growing together and becoming one as time passes
Yes but I love teasing Crossie
http://tinyurl.com/cba8zlx
Err we don't fight.
me 6/27 please
and good fight is good about once a month,it reestablishes boundries :) and make up cuddles are the best
Nope no point
I wasn't fighting. I'm a bit (a lot) worried tht my daughter and her new love thik it's okay to fight and then not speak for a week. She thinks that's love. I disagree.
don't fight, crossy. just have a good wrestling match instead:)
not speaking is the worst
you have to talk
No that is emotional abuse
Talking is good, fighting is not good.
you have to keep the lines of communication open
true, but kids are kids... they have to learn... did you know all that at their age?
we did
and me 6/27 please
dunno, dorens. don't know how old jac's kid is
forget it, i found it of course
emotional abuse is the the most sly kind. It can rid a person of all their self worth.
same 1st 3 letters as the 4 above it + a period of years
now i know nothing and take each day as it comes ,and try to laugh, and learn something new every day,and talk with my wife about some trivial bit of info i gleaned from the daily paper, and go for walks in the woods when we have no money..and that is fine with me
Jess - I have 3 children - a son aged 27, a daughter aged 25 and a stepdaughter who is almost 17. I thought I knew everything at all of their ages. LOL
Then yes, dorens...at 25, I knew the difference between a healthy relationship and what jac describes.
unfortunately, a lot of folks don't at that age... and therin lies a whole lot of problem
not talking and dodging each other around the house in cold icy silence is not good
I can't talk because at that age I was just moving out of my abusive ex's
we are trying to teach it in the schools now. "conflict resolution" mediation, how to talk out differences
But I'm still concerned about my daughter, who, it seems to me, is frantically looking for love and not really seeing what love is. She's living in Brashov, Romania right now and thank God had a b/f whose Mum is not oly a doctor but also a good Mum and a good cook. The boyfriend however, might not be so good.
Jes - I was describing my ex-hub and me. I marrid him at 19.
my mrs also came from an abusive relationship before we got together herin,i saw what was going on and "discussed" with this fella that a woman should not be sporting bruises like that, and it was amazing afer a second "discussion" he decided that he was going out west to find work.my beloved was free..but it took one year for her not to flinch when i came in for a hug...i understand too well
I was hoping to meet the Boyfriend at Christmas, but have just been told he's not coming over her with her now.
is that the kind of discussion you have with baseball bats in back alleys, crossy?
we just had a friendly talk, and it was amazing,he saw the error of his ways
Cross I did that with the other half 3 or 4 years later. i flinched when he went to move his hair
(WHy do I picture this friendly discussion containing a baseball bat)
crossy looks around with an innocent lok...
look
Crossy - mine was an emotionally abusive relationship, but I can imagine where yuor wife was coming from. Glad you rescued her and that she allowed you to and found you nice enough to stay with.
and hides the stick behind his back... :P
Herin - sometimes this light and frothy talk on Babble hides much deeper stuff. I know you know that.x
the poor fella,he fall down and i helped him up.he wnt to get in his car and banged his head, then i went to walk him to his house and it was insane he tripped over a lawn sprinkler and gave himself a black eye
is there a list? the list in babanon doesn't appear to be correct.
How 'unfortunate' he was that day, Crossy. you'd never credit it, would you? That's how luck goes though.:-)
i am honored every day that my victoria was secure enough to allow me to be with her and to wed her and to spend the rest of my life with her
Cross my best friend claims she was sleeping when she rolled her cheating ex up in a sleeping bag and hit him with the bat
good for her,my mrs hit hers ex in the head with a cast iron frying pan
He must've had a cast iron skull if she didn't rack it then,
I am lucky that one of my ex's (he married my best friend) has unfortunate looking children
he lived, then sexually aboused his neice and spent 5 years in jail and picked up all kinds of wonderful things from shared tatoo needles..sometimes karma is a bitch
Pity he didn't repeatedly trip over Cross
hello everyone - back to finish, I hope
Hi Cyber
hi nan
Jess I have a question please
sure
i have an answer, lets see if they match :)
UNFORTUNATE LOOKING CHILDREN?
ooh -- no lickety -- maybe I won't!
Is tea tree oil based shampoo bad for cats? I was reading it can be like playing russian rulete
Jac his and her kids are ugly
Do Tell more Herin. Sorry. Didn't mean to shout.
yes, tea tr4 oil is bad for cats.
Cheers. I am trying to think of something safe for Pandora stinky pants
who feeds that oil to cats anyways
Tea tree, unless very very diluted is NOT good for cats.
many essential oils are--for one thing, cats are more sensitive to a lot of things than humans are, for another, they will typically ingest anything you put on them, so even if it doesn't cause a skin reaction, it can cause gi issues.
I don't mean feed it to them but bath her
crossy - it's more of an ointment when they get in fights etc., re cats.
ahh sorry,misunderstood
she'll lick it off.
No I meant it to help her with fleas and itches
you're much better served to use a shampoo actually designed for use on cats.
http://www.veterinarywatch.com/Abstrac t-tea-tree-oil.htm
That oddly enough is hard to find. No one baths a cat
was just looking for a list... am ver impressed that babanon has tomorrow's list up already!
Hi KJe
According to the American Cancer Society: "Tea tree oil is toxic when swallowed. It has been reported to cause drowsiness, confusion, hallucinations, coma, unsteadiness, weakness, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach upset, blood cell abnormalities, and severe rashes. It should be kept away from pets and children."
hi
Really? there are a variety of shampoos for cats and kittens available in grocery stores here.
Frontline is your best attack for fleas, mites, ticks etc., on both cats and dogs.
if you can't find something labeled for kittens, you can probably use human baby shampoo; i'd dilute it half and half with water.
have had cats for years and have always been impressed with their ability to keep themselves clea. never used shampoo
We go to the vet for the flea stuff. Get that squishy on the back of the neck stuff. Dorens my cat wasn't taught to bath herself
kje - does it? Blimey? Who's done that already then?
if you're trying to control fleas, no shampoo will really be that effective though; better to use both a monthly treatment (advantage, frontline, etc) and treat the environment.
gosh, i always thought it was instinct!
ok, gonna start asking for clues... get ready
No, Dorens - it's science.
ac7?
The new grid can't be up yet - it's 3.439am here in UK and the grid doesn't arrive until 6am.
playing card + evaluate
it's like the ma8 minus the m
jac - it is just misdated... says stats for dec 3
ok... clue for the ma8 then?
that makes more sense, k
actually, got it - ty gramma
but much less interesting, dorens... i would rather we had a babbler predicting the future ; )
kje - Phew! I thought we had a necromancer in our midst. Might not have been all bad though; he might have told me the winning lottery numbers.:-)
thanks for m8 and a7. nbt :)
wpuld be kind of nice
Jess not to control fleas but man SHE STINKS
I really am going now. See you all next grid.
nite jacs
I'm still looking for the am7. Try to help me Gin, please?
Doren's Mumma kitties teach the baby kitties to bath, we found her at about 4 /5 weeks old.
Night Jac
you could ask your vet, they probably have something. or go with the diluted baby shampoo.
G'nite Jac.
af6?
a + live f*** or die + a consonant
ty again gramma
Never thought of that
this grid is kicking my butt -- what a dif it makes with no lickety
didn't know that herin... amazing what i don't know
kje - did you find a list somewhere?
fo 7/44 pls
Pandora was only a wee baby when she was found and the person that owned her for 6 months was abusive to her. I would have kidnapped her the first time I saw her as a pocket sized kitten if I had known
acetreat
oops
fo 7: more frothy
more of the fo4/8
both my cats were rescue kittens, but not sure when they lost their mamas
thanks nan and gramma
Dorens she was found on the side of the road in an industrial area.
we also take only resuce kitties
she's lucky she has you herin
am6
The person who had her decided she wasn't cute any more.
my oldest is 17 now and aging. unfortunately she really likes being outdoors, but came to me today with a chewed up ear... put on antibiotic cream and hoping for the best
Awww. Dorens can you put the Oldest in a secure closure run thingy?
our cat are all indoor kitties
she was so used the outdoors from when she was younger... a real hunter, etc. and we are all hilly and woody here... not easy to do that even if she would tolerate it herin, so it is indoors for lucy now. she's been spending more and more time in lately anyway. problem is that she and the babe don't get along that well
I have seen kitties in Big run's they love it
am6?
am + **** Moreno
Dorens; a not inexpensive option, but maybe feasible--look up "purrfect fencing"
will look jes...thanks
jes, if ii use the antibiotic cream that i had from a couple years ago (twice a day) and take her to rabies clinic tomorrow, should that work?
just took the other one to the vet earlier this week because of roundworm .. he is the indoor cat but has had several escapes the last month. i think the writing is on the wall.... might be hard but they are turning into indoor cats
ty une
yw :-)
hi une
hey :-)
clean it well; is it puncture wounds, or scratches, or what, dorens?
second ca7?
picture taker with Mr. Gore at the end
antibiotic ointment on cats is often not very effective because they lick it right off
looks like someone took a chunk out of the corner of an ear jes. hoping it is not my other cat, but an outside critter
clean with hydrogen peroxide?
ty jes
ah. yeah, just keep it clean probably. unless it swells or starts oozing.
2 left. re6 before you dish the food again and that stoopid am7 that I've been looking for forever. Help, please.
hydrogen peroxide once, but don't use it repeatedly
ok..clean with damp cotton only?
thanks. hate bugging you
am7 - french friend + price of a cab for example
I usually just use clean water and gentle soap--dawn dish soap works. and a soft cloth.
the other is am + second scale note + when the plane is projected to come
I have that 1 I think. It's another one
nice.. sounds better than hydrogen peroxide
you don't want to scrub so much it bleeds, just get any dirt and crud off.
got it. certaily don't have it in my to scrub the old girl's ear.. nice and easy does it
or am + alt spelling of the meter maid
ca8?
thanks jess
no problem
ty. and the last 1 re6?
Got it!

wonder why mrp and lickety just plain dropped us...
nite, dorens :-)
ty une -- 2 more ap's to go :)
erda, mrp and lickety have had their hands full -- health issues for lickety and also for their daughter maddison
she was helping us when it was worse, though...
jeez, don't think it could be much worse than right now
list is in hootowl's profile
I know; I finished a while back
ok
erda -- they do this as a favour for us -- publishing anything on the internet everyday is a hassle at the best of times -- put yourself in their shoes!
I never start anything that I don't intend to finish
well bully for you -- maybe you should take on the job of creating a list every day -- it must be wonderful to be perfect
you beat me to it nan!
Meow, Nan -- thank you!! I don't know enough about this to be able to do anything about it
anyone hve clues for the first 2 ap 7's?
my point exactly, erda -- not much compassion either
ap7/32 sounds like hungry
thnx Une

i am finding it very difficult to get back into Babble at the mo - having a real prob getting stuff into perspective at the mo
I am thinking of just plain giving it up.
sorry for your loss Kaz. My dad died over 20 years ago and I still think about and miss him every day.
thanks pcal - I think now that Mum is safe the shock is beginning to hit me. At one point we thought we would lose both of them. Mum has decided to fit back though which is good
hugs to you, kazzer -- my mom died in January and it's been really hard dealing with the holidays . . .
glad things are improving for your mom :-)
my sympathies kaz -- it's been 12 years since we lost my dad -- have many great memories and miss him still. Give yourself some time--you too, Une
tx nan
thanks Une as well - main reason I am up now - was having a series of weird dreams about him and decided I'd rather be up and exercising brain than not sleeping
when my dad died, my mom was hospitalized at the same time and it was a really hard time for all of us. She also fought back and lived another 14 years.
Mum ended up in hospital on the day of the funeral = before it happened - they reckon it was the shock and several on going illnesses that she hadn't bothered to get checked out
ca 8, please? -- is it an extension of the 7?
thanks for your time = i think i will try another go at having a kip = see you sometime later in the day
no nan...completely different
sleep well Kaz
