ruru, avoiding the cortisone increases my chances of recovery. the cortisone softens the bone, and the surgeon has to remove bone more in order to do the replacement

Terra cracked us up yesterday. We started eating at the dinner table again recently and he hates it... keeps making tiny sounds and feeling lonely. Yesterday my husband pulled a chair and gave the dog a seat. Terra was delighted, curled up on the seat and slept contentedly.

That's what we did, cross -- and THEN the housing market dropped, prices increased and Tom's actual income went down. So the advantage is we can still afford the home unlike some folks, but we are actually paying more than the current market value. ONCE I am fully employed we can do those repairs, pay my student loans (in a couple-three years) and then put money aside for my retirement. I gave up nearly 20 years of employment to be with the kids, so I am quite behind the 8-ball on the long-term savings front.

it was an excellent day, jill, thanks! tomorrow I have a job, Friday I have a job... not sure how those days will go. tomorrow is preschool kids, friday is 6th grade. Monday is 6th grade but a different school... I like working! Just nervous each time I try a new age/subject. Today it was a bilingual classroom. I didn't do too badly...

did I tell you granddaughter Lois is teaching French Immersion?
I could remember enough to say most of the common directions in Spanish, supplemented with English (which all the kids also understand), and it went smoother than I expected. LOL when they asked me how old I was, I told them the year I was born in Spanish.
