ca7 is a kind of tree with a long skinny beanlike fruit.
I came in to find out how jilli did the other day
hope everything went well
i think it means the first half of how you can order from penney's then the state abbbreviation. it is a tree

ah ok i doublechecked.. lickety is down apparently
now if you had said outhouse tp....
i think my gramma preferred sears....
such a small clarification turns a maddeningly obtuse clue into something easily comprehensible....
Hi west -- all went well but I now have a big bruise on my chin. Had to ice the area every 15 minutes for 15 minutes during the first 48 hours, which is just over with now. Damn nuiscance.
yes west, we called them bean trees
what happened Jilli/
good to hear jilli..that it's over not that it's a nuisance
doctor slugged you cuz he ran out of lidocaine?
I must stop! Sleep is necessary! Otherwise I will "just one more!" myself into insanity. See everyone tomorrow. (/today)
Yeah, sure, that's a good story to tell people, west, lol!
hi and bye via..this is like Lay's potato chips
so true! also, heal fast jilli -- *poof
1/2 way!
jilli pug asked what happened
gj m
A hundred and eighty were challenged by Travis to die...that's a clue
Pug, I had a recurrence of a skin cancer (basal cell) on my chin, which had to be removed by a plastic surgeon. He did a great job -- the incision (when it's healed) will match a curve on the other side -- very clever.
wow , so sorry dear, but very glad he did a terrific job !
is the list working for anyone?
it is working on expert
mrp didn't announce, right? So I guess there's not list yet.
yes she did.. and now its working

my friend's mother who is in a nursing home in England has been remembering poems and asked Jennie to bring her a copy of the Owl and the Pussy Cat
went to sea in a beautiful pea green boat
her computer wouldn't let her download it because of "adult content"
it wasn't the Erie song -- it was the "ca7 falling in love with you"
Oh.. ha ha.. pussy my love?
is that a riot or what?
I guess
oh!!!! I thought you were talking about a song west posted!
omg -- pussycat is a bad word?

M9 I just friended you (cause I am cheeky)
we have certain little things that have become family vocabulary. Goog yob (good job) from when HeWho was little. "that's asgusting!" from AIden. "No me me!!" (you can't get me) from Elina, and a few from Gage.. such as "jelly chingo" for helicopter with guns.LOL
time to rest the weary brains bbl
The one word that has stuck in our family is Sara Lee for celery and I still don't like it
Later Vanilla
I just watched it..so precious!! what a happy little boy

hi ruby! :)
{{rbud}}
are you up early or very late?
was asleep, now up again, it's just after 3 AM here.
try making bingo words in your head, it is so boring that it always works for me
getting fussed about not being able to monkey the J for nbt, lol
ji6/39
it's a vegetable, I think
and it's only my 7th word! got the others (animal ones) from the chog
green and lumpy
aha! thank you, that worked. I haven't been at this long, just about a half hour.
this one makes me want to try lots of Spanish words, lol.
I need aN HOUR TO MYSELF IN THIS CIRCUS OF A HOUSEHOld
sorry for the caps, big pinky at fault
I hear that! (the circus part) - it's like that here, too. Dau just went to get son, he's a pain. Needed a ride. Yes, at 3 AM. sigh.
no wonder you're up!
ah, they're back, one less worry.
good
he treats us like his personal taxi service.
that sounds charming!
what is he doing out that late?
studying? lol
this is very disorganized; I'm doing any old word as I see it, not any order at all
no, haha, I wish. he's just a night owl with a lot of night owl friends. and easily bored.
that would drive me crazy!
he'll be 21 in June, not much I care to try to tell him, forget any kind of discipline at this point.
loam
already have that one, lol
whoops, is there coffee in the PB?
oooh, maybe coffee would be good - or tea - or maybe hot cocoa, it's kinda cold here.
hot milk? ice cream?
hmmm.... have some french vanilla ice cream, yum! and a brownie I could put it on. if the kids didn't get the last one.
that sounds like a perfect wakefulness cure!
son has a 10-day stretch in jail coming up soon, looking forward to the peace and quiet. Then after that he's done, till the next dumb thing he does.
I guess he's getting some partying out of his system first
I think that's most of it. he figures he's due some fun first.
not!
just glad dau's BF is the quiet type. he's never a problem like our son. very mellow.
I've always been lucky; my son was a mellow baby and continued to be mellow (sometimes too mellow, if you get my drift), through his teens. Now he is very stressed with his work, but he's 48, so it's not my problem (just my worry), now
The boyfriend is a fair amount older than our daughter, but that doesn't seem to bother them. She's 24, he's 34 or so, but they get along great. He's got a job, yay.
job is good! 10 yrs doable, but not more (2 times, too big a difference)
phantom: potlatch
they
they're both similar in their viewpoints and such, and not the brightest couple around (love her, but it's true.) seems to work for them.
that is fortunate that they've found each other
I've married two who were "the smartest men in the world", NOT!!
she still squeals like a little kid about baby animals, and can't make change, or tell time worth a darn, sigh...
wouldn't pour the water out of a wet shoe
she sounds like a sweetie
canna
and Miss Genius over here, keeps putting words in the chog!!!! duh
morning all - lovely day here today
she is, but she acts like a much younger girl. Our son, on the other hand, very smart, but doesn't put it to any good use.
pls don't tell on me
hiya kazzer
I had that one, too, no worries! :)
but she does drive rbud - i can't do that
Hi Kazz!
that's good news -- we'[ve had rain, rain, rain, but if you have sunshine, we'll have it in 2 or 3 days
we have had some large hail showers over the last few days (large for us - nothing ilk the monsters some parts of the states gets)
we've also had hail, but tiny pieces, so no damage
the big ones sqush everything
ah, the dogs have finally quit barking, they were wound up over the train going through.
my puppy stands and barks in Ruby's face and she just whines
its was funny in a way - they chap who gave me a lift part way home yesterday has a new car and winced every time a hail stone hit it
haha, what do you think that's all about?
that's funny, kaz
oh dear, don't blame him, a new car? I'd be looking for a carport to wait it out.
he obvious doesn't like the noise
it's like going into the ocean, after the first dent, the rest are less painful
a car wash bay, or something to pull under.
lol!
I can't stand fussbudget men!
no - he was reasonably laid back about it though but its unusual to get such large stones but it was a fantastic sky
what color sky?
he probably cried when he got home....lol
when I was in college, we all used to put on construction hard hats and go out in the hail and stand around.
almost pale pink and green in places - fantastic. tuesday we had fantastic mammatus under the cu nims
silly us.
majoring in party!!
when I lived in the Midwest, a green sky often predicted tornadoes
we used to wander around in thunder storms with umbrellas!
do you get brilliant sunsets, kaz?
ours are rather bland
yes, there's a nasty green-brown color that goes with tornadoes, it's true.
I have only seen one tornado in this country though they are very common here just not that powerful
isn't umbrella/thunderstorm a good way to get lightning-struck?
HA! got the last brownie! yay!
I've seen water-spouts off Florida, but only tornado warnings
yay for rbud!
thats a difficult one ruby as we live on the east side of a hill so at home we don't really see them but if we go up to the top of the hill it can be fantastic. I used to be a weather observer and only once i have seen the green flash
wtg rbud
oh boy, never seen that
just 11 left for me
the two dogs just came crashing into the studio!
they're both wet and stinky!
and muddy
are they getting on well? and though this might be painful have you had any news about your other boy
nothing friendlier than a wet dog, lol
specially when they are chunky and big and want a cuddle
I am loving my volunteer walking at the moment - they have a batch of puppies - stuffy mastiff crosses
oh, you didn't hear; after two weeks, the handyman found Max at the bottom of our fishpond! We buried him quietly next to the two other graves and I didn't tell my husband
RIP Max
Ruby is still annoyed by the puppy, but he is brilliant and they'll work it out
how big are the mastiffs?
oh I am sorry Ruby - at least you have closure with this
and I talked with my son and husband's daughter, and we all agreed there was no point in telling him
and the new pup is making him smile again
are you still trying to convince the puppy not to go near the pond? I worry about him, as you said he drinks from it too.
well 4 weeks ago the biggest boy at 8 weeks was about a foot to 15 inches long - 2 weeks ago he had doubled in size - soif he is still there on sunday he could be ginormous
you can never replace a dead pet, but there is room in your heart to love a new one
Rufie has gained about 2 kg in a month!
when I tried to discourage him from drinking from the pond, he just re-doubled his efforts
that figures! :P
and Max drank from the pond for years before this happened.....
cor blimey he's growing well - I really want a dog but no chance at the mo so I will walk ones other people don't want
I'm just praying a lot and making promises.....
maybe Max had some sort of heart attack or something, and fell in. not just a slip in balance.
I love the way mastiffs look
I hope that's what happened
it's hard to imagine how he fell in since he would go to his full height to drink and get his front paws over the (high) rocky rim
what's funny about the puppy is that his color is changing by the day
good bye, ladies, now I have to make a Campari for himself!
hmm, after a fish? or maybe a bird or duck or something in the water. we'll never know.
50 words and lovely to see you both!!!
I have added Fernes url to my profile - there is a page for adopting animals and you can see the doggies that are available
later then, ruby! (((hugs)))
but it's better than having been hit by a car and dying in somebody else's garden
by e Ruby - have a good rest of the day. off to docs soon myself.
I'm afraid to look, kaz, lol!
bye rbud - i am off as well but will be back later
oh, wow, sheep and horses, too!
later, Kazz, good doctor visit! :)
does anyone have the la 5/12 before the volcano related word (the 2nd la5/12 )please?
got it thanks
lol, mari, was in the middle of the clue....well done
.
co
I too am struggling with the 2nd la 5/12 - clue please
gran, la5, la + y*o are gran + first vowel + single hump
la5/12..jokes make you ***gh + **ts are picnic pests
Oops, already clued.
la + Chinese money without 1st letter
Thanks finally got it. Also struggling with vi 6/30 and vi 7/44 clue please
vi6...vi + first part of Mickey Mouse's girlfriend + vowel. Add a consonant for the 7.
nice cluing molly
Thanks but just found them
next one gran....
... half way ... but not nearly enough 6s and 7s to say "doing well" ... oh well ... until later ... ... barkeep! a round of good days for everyone! ...
pa
still here, nanette, would that be pa7? you need
night/ day doseffing, have a good one, buddy
oos sorry, I keep hitting the touch pad on this laptop.... Good morning everyone
hey anette
just started Rose so no it didn't refer to the pa7, I shall have to look for it now
* groan * nanette. nearly pumpkin time for me
your up late Rose
had a b.... of a day at work. at one stage had 3 children in recovery ( one of which was trying to climb out of his trolley) and 2 urology patients, one whose BP was 49. and 3 staff to deal with said patients....i'm absolutely knackered
oh my, that was a gruelling day!
lol, nanette, and the more we "cope" with the situation, the less staff we get. go figure!!!!
I could never understand why they make nurses work 10 or 12 hour shifts. It is such a trying job and you really need to be at your very best
all good outcomes, except for the person whose BP was so low....he had a bleeder ( arterial ) in his bladder, went back to theatre tonight. bleeder cauterised, all good when i finally got to come home. *sigh* would sopmeone please tell me why i do this job?
because you are a saint, rose!!!
nanette, 10 - 12 hour shifts gives better continuum of care for patients...and as nurses that is what we strive for.
God bless you Rose
and those are weird words in the grid, ty molly and rose for your help in finding them
((((ruby))))) thanx sweetheart
yes I suppoe se that is tru
hi Ruby
but I still don't have either half or nbt
hi hi no no
dang laptop!
making a little shrine for all the Roses I have known (many)!!!
the others, except for Rosie, my first chow, are not saints like this Rose!!!
so long as my shrine is a cecil brunner rose...my all time favourite.
everybody keeps telling me to get an Apple laptop but I love my old clunker.....
what color is that one?
it's a pale p[ink tea rose, the perfume is heavenly. i have one near my clothes line. sheets come in, smelling heavenly
I don't think I could adjust to an Apple, the operating system is so different
that is lovely. Now I have to look up tea roses to see if I have any
A friend of mine got one last year and ended up taking it back because he couldn't adjust to it
most of my roses don't have any scent at all
rub, usually they are quite a small rose, in clusters
they (son and DIL) keep telling me I'll have no more problems.....
ummm, that would be * ruby *
it has been raining for a couple of days, so hedge guys haven't finished, but they're on the way to pick up the huge piles of cuttings from the half-finished job
another highly perfumed rose is the lorraine leigh. absolutely yummy!!!!
(I've been called worse!)
what color is that one?
oh, good, last i saw, they hadn't been....and lorraine leigh is a mid-pink, with a yellow heart
all my roses are red, pink, purple or salmon plus some white ones, left here by the former owners
what month do your roses flower, rose?
oh, btw, tiling in the bathroom is actually happening. pointed out to himself, that he now has just over 2 weeks to finish. strange that, huh!
good for you, Madame Rose!!!!
now have to lock up the dogs so the guys can come. See you later, friends
over here, our roses flower from november, through to....well now actually. i have a gorgeous yellow one, called golden jubilee, very old rose. scent is divine. and another one, called the neil armstrong, is a deep red, and highly perfumed
hello Babble friends
hello Sprite!
hi Nanette!
wow... this seems to be a tight one!
Was just thinking the same, Sprite
glad it isn't just me
lots of a's and i's but no e's
indeed. A slow start for me, not racing through the early words as with most grids.
still no h or j words and not one 6!
I have one 6, no 7s, no J wods and no H words either!
hey spritey
my 6 is va6, if that helps
rose! *hugs* How are you? Did you sleep well again?
thanks will try to find that
oh and for the J, the italian greeting but not starting C
my 7 is a pa7
thank you!
hi6, hi + first vowel + ***c is powder you could dust yourself with
thank you rose
yes thanx, spritey, have a new supply of Anatrin, working well
ty Rose
wonderful! Am so happy for you that you feel better.
ji6, ji + ***era is used to take pictures + first vowel
new word for me, thank you
lol at the ma6
lol, it's wonderful how good you can feel, just getting enough sleep
ty rose that's a new one
the ji6 means: the large, edible, tuberous root of a tropical American plant, Pachyrhizus erosus, of the legume family, eaten as a vegetable either raw or boiled.
it is mexican
opps that should have read lol at the va6
apparently ji6 is a mexican turnip
yes, fun one :)
oh, dear, snap spritey
snap rose :)
I love my babble friends... people who want to know what it means :D
well, sprite, all very well to enter words, but to know what they are, i think helps me to remember them
same here! I think I will remember that funny jnana(s) for a good time now!
for sure Rose
okay, let me see if i can help sprite....that is if she would like it...i have the 7's
I'd love to have the stats, rose!
ac7/36, ca7/36, lo7/36, oc7/44, pa7/32, vi7/44
oh I found a fun plural 'fish' :)
thanks rose! That will help a lot
shall i list the 6's too?
not for me yet, I am halfway with those. But I don't mind if others want them ;)
I also have a good portion of the 6's now but thanks
np's you 2
will go and do an on-line jigsaw, will pop back in and see how you are going in about 5 mins.
thanks dear rose :) You rock!
ok Rose enjoy the jigsaw
This one has all sorts of palindromes. And a phantom animal.
morning all!
really! palava is not a word?! Hello all
morning Kap and Sue
hi Lyn
Potch is a word. I'll give you such a potch!
I think it's palaver, lynxxx
Morning.
and hi, nono, lynxxx, kap, sprite!
hi lyn, and uusue, and Kaplan
top of the morning to you too.
I tried both
vini vidi vici?
No minimal animals?
lol... we have this joke in dutch that says 'veni, vidi, foetsie' - I came, saw and run like mad
cute, sprite :)
;)
I am going to land in the PB if I don't vatch what I am saying.
If you send me there now, it's worth it.
nbs and nbt (got nbt myself earlier, and nbs from the list of 7's)
good job, uusue!
wtg sue
btw, the ji vegetable is one we see in our markets a lot, it's pretty tasty in salads
can I please get a clue for the ca7? Found the rest, though most with help of a2z.
that is good to know, uusue, I will try one if I see one!
sprite that is the one I am looking for now
:)
hi, everyone. Happy weekend.
anyone have a clue for pa7?
and to you too, Angelson
hi Angel
ah found it. Ca7: feline + high mountain in switserland + vowel
pa7 is almost like a castle, but without the i.
it might be associated with the 'roof' of your mouth, I think
TY Sprite
ty Sprite!!
yvw lyn :)
and Nanette!
got it. it is almost, almost castle-like, minus one letter.
lol indeed :P
okay, how are you all doing/ can i help with clues?
hi rose! Just finished the 7s, with help from friends and a2z. I am fine for now.
the 7's are knocked off Rose thanks to your list of them
hi Rose
yay, spritey. knew you could do it
and well past half way now
and nanette...and hi lyn.
*grins at rose* Of course I can, with your help!
*grins right back at you* sprite
yes, granny, I have nbs thanks to your list!
strange....bourbon number 4, don't feel any pain in my knee....wonder why that is?
:D
ahhh bourbon, the master pain killer
yay, sue, go, girl, go!!!
what do they say about hollow legs? the bourbon has obviously risen above the knees now
lol
lol
yup, nanette, it sure beats codeine, morphine, pethidine, and any other 'dines
I agree!
and just whose legs are you calling hollow, young lady????
not allowed to have any b/c of the gabapentine, but I remember the old days :)
good morning friends.
oops, himself has just arrived home...and here i am chatting to you all
Morning Trif
young lady - flattery will get you everywhere
hi Trif
hey, trif...hope you have fun with this grid
thanks granny.....
my girl is heading home from your neck of the woods in about two hours!
gm
morning kje
morning kje
Hi tRIFFLES EN KJE
sorry for the caps... hi Triffles and kje :)
I bet you will glad to see her Trif!
hey sprite!
glad for you she is coming back in one piece. Well done, worried mum :)
She is leaving Perth Trif? that went quick - though I bet not for you
Nono, you have nono idea! I feel like my skin is the only thing holding me together, I am that anxious
you'll be tracking her flight home all day!
it did go quickly, lynxx, but this last week feels like it took three months of its own
thaks for the clue. fireworks.
well done Angel
wtg Angel
yay angel
and all day tomorrow too! she leaves this morning at 10 am my time, but doesn't get in until 11 tomorrow night
Hi trif! she'll be fine, you'll be a wreck until she's home - so it goes. Glad she is coming back.
congrats Angel
yay angel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
after 10pm here, as you know, lyn....been up since 6am....pills have just kicked in....i am getting very sleepy.....and trif, hope your girl travels well
WTG ANGEL!!!!
owe, thats a long flight
thanks granny, and thanks for having such a wonderufl country for her to visit!
sleep well rose :)
sleep well Rose, hope you don't have any shifts this weekend - sounds like you need a few days off
the whole trip is 37 hours, nono
she must have a layover somewhere?
love and hugs to all, see you at the flip
yes, seven hours in sydney, then another four in dalas
bye Rose, enjoy your evening
yikes those are long layovers
nanette, hope to spend it with my eyes very securely shut....
* poof *
you deserve it rose! :)
blessed sleep, granny
I imagine there are no direct flights to the US from Perth so will be changing in Sydney
7 hours... ugh...that is a long layover
although, it is long enough that she can just stick her stuff in a locker and hit the city if she wants... that could be cool
yes, tis. i wish she could leave the airport and see a bit of the city, but that is not allowed due to visa and security restrictions
perth is 4+ hours flight to Sydney
really? that sucks
too bad :( But anyway, it is long enough to have a nap or have a quiet meal.
yes. I tried to get the flight through melbourne, as herin was kind enough to say she would entertain her for the time, but there was no way to connect that way -- or at least, one Icould afford!
I used the U !
Hi folks
hi bichon :)
good morning bichon
Daughter coming back Trif?
hi Bichon
that is lady allover :) Sweet girl.
hi Bichon
maybe a day membership to the airline club for whatever airline she is flying? (like AA's admiral club)
That's a good idea kj
indeed
not allowed for those under 18 I already checked....though I do wonder if justin bieber, say, or the obama girls would find that true
I did not know that - that sucks
no... they would be offered a free membership. Fame has its perks.
it's people watching, snacks, and window shopping for my middle one
oh well, she will get to feel the real world traveler for a bit then... hanging out in airports all over, sleeping on the bench with her backpack under her head, eating crappy airport food.... all a slice of life
people watching is always fun. And reading. I could spend hours reading.
I could write a travel guide for teens with all I have learned through planning and executing this trip, believe me!
I could write a travel guide for teens with all I have learned through planning and executing this trip, believe me!
you could write two!
that is not a bad idea... i know their are travel guides for women, or seniors, etc... why not teens
I didn't realize she was still in high school. Do they allow kids under 18 on the plane unaccompanied
chapter one: CALL YOUR MUM! At least once a day!
most guides are aimed at the college age group/young adult
mostly because 99% of the parents in the US are now such over bearing helicopters they would never consider sending their kid across town, let alone across the planet! I could write ANOTHER book about all the sh** I have gotten from people who feel I am the worst mother on eart for letting her go
yes, they do bichon, but not with "unaccompanied minor" status - she just has to fly on her own, no special supervision or whatnot
not here, I hope, Trif. I think you did great. You have given her a real gift. Your trust, for one. And all the amazing things she learned from this. Beats 3 years at school.
i hate that people think they can give you their opinion about stuff that is none of their business as soon as you are pregnant or have kids.... like the pregnant mom buying junk food and someone tells her taht is bad for her baby
thanks sprite.
Tri, don't get me started on that one. It's a big deal for kids to walk two naighborhood blocks on their own to visit a friend. Unbelievable.
I know kaplan. and how sad
i want to walk up to some pot bellied man buying cheetos and say - you know how bad that is for you? never would happen, but everyone feels they can tell a mom how bad they are
ohhhh I am right with you, kje! Don't start me on that one. How about the people who think they can touch your tummy because you are pregnant?
besides, she went to go stay with FAMIL Y, not some bunch of strangers. I put it down to jealousy, I guess
Society of anxiety.
that is true, kaplan, but very hard to say out loud!
she will cherish this trip forever. You won't believe how much she will have matured, when you go pick her up!
Did she attend high school there?
more kids should travel and get a world view... would change things a lot
You think there is any correlation between kids not being allowed to walk to school alone and the preponderance of opiate addictions once the kids have a teeny bit of freedom?
kje, I don't want to tell the pot-bellied man that either. I simply hate people judging the whole time and thinking they know what another should do or not do. They don't know shit. Let them walk in my shoes before they judge my path.
I do have a few worries on that score, sprite. I figure we will naturally be a bit strange with each other, the first couple of days...I am sure she has changed quite a lot
you are a GREAT mom for letting her go, trif
Yes.
and, yes, she absolutely did go to school there, and she had a blast and got great grades and made a ton of new friends
some, probably, Kaplan. What we have here are kids that are always brought to school by car, then go to highschool on bikes for the very first time, and then have lots of accidents.
if you are even remotely interested, she did write a short blog: http://fionaelliott.blogspot.com.au/
don't worry, Trif. Just let it work itself out. You will meet her as she is now, and let her ramble, and things will work out just fine.
she is a horrible speller, so be warned!
hello babblers
hi TOwl!
thanks sprite. I feel a bit of pressure on myself as well - like I should be going crazy getting stuff done today so she doesn't come home and look at me like, "what have you been doing for three months ?" I fear that is probably me projecting more than anything else, however
good morning temple owl!
gm TO
oh I like that blog. Just read a bit. Very nice! She HAS learned a lot.
hey TOwl
happy weekend for you, trif
*hugs Trif* Stop trying to be something you think she might expect. She has missed you. Just you. Just the way you are. Relax.

i started too recently to know what help i need.

bye spritey
mine, duh! And wow, thanks, been a LONG while since anyone has asked me that question!

funny you should mention it, annie - I was listening to NPR yesterday and they were discussing Death of a Salesman, as Phillip Seymour Hoffman is now doing it on Broadway, and I guess he is amazing in the role, which is not a surprise to me at all
The entire cast got a good review esp. Phillip Hoffman....He really fits the part besides being a very good actor
I saw Lee J. Cobb in the original production (name dropper that I am)
i am skeptical that there are this many words in this grid.
hello annie
okay, I am off. many thanks for the good company, friends!
hi Owl :)

Annie, tell Bobby not to worry about writing back; it is a pleasure to write to him. Did he like the letter?
ruby, he loved the letter and he loves getting mail. He doesn't get much mail especially a letter from France
va7??

Al 5/12 I could easily finish the grid early, I am going to save my last word. Now here is a story. My Aunt An 4/4 and my Uncle Al4/4 introduced me to Babbleland a few years ago. When I first started babbling I took an oa4/5 to complete grids every single day. However, my pl 4/5 to finish every grid, did not happen. It was pl5/12 to see that with life and work, that would be impossible. Even though I am definitely no ma5/16 for some of the other Babble ma5/18s,I am so glad to be a part of the Babble ma 5/12 in the chat log. I mo 4/5 and groan at some of the jokes told, but I so appreciate the camaraderie with other players. Now that I have ho 4/6ed you with clues I am going to go eat some na 5/14s and watch the movie Dead Ca4/6.Husband is about to sna5/14 the computer away from me anyway. I hope that you have obta4/4ed more words with my story of clues. Ci 4/5 for now! BBL!
yw, nan
ji 6/39 is ji plus take a picture with a ***er* bichon and hi!
tyvm Min

Have the word, don't get the zoo clue. Too many weird words in this grid. I think my brain melted.
g'day mates! *poof*
Molly - I missed a word in there: what is in a zoo, what a zoo holds.
hic
hi all
hi jmc :-)
*mops up puddle under Molly and hopes it is not brain*
hmmm i am getting no where fast
bbl
Rats, missed JMC. It's really sad how dead chat is these days.
back
i took a nap
my who's online is broken so lurkers have to speak up
It's weird. It's like some sort of gag order has been issued on this chat log. It used to be a lot more lively.
Good evening all, did half this morning, back for the hard half tonight
I can be lively
it is all my fault for going to graduate school
Hi Bichon, Molly, JMC
Hi Glant
*shake shake shake*
shake your booty; shake your booty
are you too intellectual for us now JMC??? :-)
hi again all! been a busy day so I haven't been around much
depends who's here Molly....
Hi Sue
that is it i is a brainiac
Molly does know how to get the lurkers out :-)
*shake shake shake*
and hi, jmc, glant, molly, bichon, diane!
shake your brainy shake your brainy
Hi Diane
Me? I'm not the one shaking my booty.
I'm not lurking, I'm here [well in spirit]
so what about the monolith on mars uu?
Hi glant :-0
Martians
oh, I saw a headline about that but didn't read the article. Let me go look.
*turns a little green*
that was supposed to be :-)
come on now *shake shake shake8
Maybe it was thise apes who put the monolith on Earth (2001), perhaps they went to Mars next...
*Hangs disco ball*
wiggle wiggle wiggle - daren;t shae, I'd overbalance when everything started to wobble
it was the monolith on earth that turned the apes into humans!
wiggle works
*squirm squirm squirm*
ok, probably not, it looks like it's at a few-pixel resolution (the pixels are square) which makes everything look kind of rectangular.
wiggle jiggle wiggle jiggle - found my rhytm
But I wouldn't mind going to check it out :-)
(trying to be sensitive to the mobility impaired)
ROFL
go glan!
squirming doesn;t sound exactly elegant
*wiggling and jiggling along with glant*
why is glant going a hawaiian belly dance?
(not that jiggling sounds all that elegant either)
like shaking your booty is elegant! whoop!
we all are, crossy!
doing
cos it's friday and I am wine-ding down form trying to fit 5 days work into 4 days...
we is livelying up the chog cross
cool! crossy pulls up a char and grabs some popcorn...
except Molly, she was quite clear that she is not shaking her booty :-)
*clinks wine glasses with glan*
you're supposed to dance, not make us embarrassed by just watching crossy
you do not want me to dance..
I'm not quite sure what a booty is...
now now molls hung up the disco ball
a tushy glant
your butt, rump, etc
its your butt or arse glan
tuckus
hiney
that is why I am onyl wiggling and jiggling crossy - all that extra flesh wobbling around could cause problems LOL
ah, a bottom!
good thing we aren't doing the bump!
I can wiggle my bottom/bum!
when i start shaking, the earth starts quaking glant:))
No, I just meant that JMC was the one shaking booty and drawing out the lurkers.
tushie, tuchas
oh, dire straits are playing a slow number, stopped wiggling and started swaying...
and I am recovering after arguing with a student for an hour and a half about why I won't change his grade from the F I gave him after he was caught cheating on the labs :-(
*hmmms we shall overcome*
you had to argue? boot his ass out of your office
*pours glass of chillde white wone for Sue*
*holds out glass to glan*
*wine
sounds so awful sue, when do you get a call from his/her parent?
he's filing a grade appeal, more power to him, I say
depends on how much the parent donates to the old pile of bricks yearly..hang tough suze!
more fool him if you have evidence of his cheating
hopefully never, bichon, this has been going on since last November
haha "my son is in your graduate class and I want to talk about his grade. . . he is only 27 and needs extra consideration"
what would that do? You're not going to back down [I hope]
but hopefully he has learned a lesson and won't happen again
Hi Flosey
am 6/21?
one of the 48 I don;t have Bichon
if he wins the appeal then his grade gets changed (although there are several steps to the process)
WE SHALL NOT BE MOOOOOved we shall not be moooved we hall not be moved todaaaaaaaaay
hi Glant, just in to double check that I had indeed finished this grid earlier today
and hi flosey!
oh i do believe deep in my heart
we shall not be moooooove tooooday
somebody actually finished this one? i think it;s tricky
why would anyone want to change a grade of someone who cheated? Wait, it could happen in today's world
i could use it too bich
but he already lost at the hearing where he contested the academic misconduct charge so I suspect he will lose this as well
just stand strong Sue and hope the higher-up's dont cave in
Who is on the committee? Hopefully no students.
desperate men use desperate measures
ohhh,i am just a student sir,and i would only like to learn..but it,s hard to read from the rising smoke of the books that you like to buuurnnn..arrrooo
*wishes palaver was spekt with an A at the end*
oooooo a good word palaver
now off again, lunchtime
bb at flip
bye flosey i hardly got to know yee
it would be in the grid too if it ended A not ER
bye Flosey
comeback any time
am 6/21?
and the word potch, which I use all the time (meaning to mess about) isn;t recognised by Enable
potch please use it in a sentence for me
just reading the process - the grade review board is 4 faculty and 4 students from the department
It is a Yiddish word. It's like a spanking
i was just potching around
but the cheating was caught by a TA, who is also a student in the department, so they may not be too sympathetic
oooo glan is kinky
am6 - am+1st vowel+***d a story
If you don't stop cheating in Physics Lab you will get a potch in the tushie
if i were a student i would not be sympathetic to another student passing by cheating
LOLOL
never knew it meant to spank
hahahahahaha bichon
there you go, bichon :-)
*shake shake shake*
shake your tushie shake your tushie
Yiddish has lots of great words which have snick into American English

oh no, it's Friday night, you can;t do those
you don't have much more time jmc
1 to start 8 to finish and 5 to file until they move up the live
*line
It's the 17th this year, right?
oh i've just found the co/buffalo cross - haven't seen that or a while
i must dear glan it pays the bills
good luck then - our year ended 4th April but tax returns had to be in by end Jan

yep
going to friends house for pizza and a movie in 45min so need to finish soon
I'm down to 26 and have listed now
I listed at 40
I listed around 5
hpow many words in the English language actually end with AL
and are they all in this grid LOL
What does listed mean? i get the lickety clues, as in the first two letters, are you talking about something else?
lickety clues - the list
first two letters and the score
ok, does the score add up to the tiel
you can also search for words on Morewords website
yes the score for the whole word adds up to the numbers on the tiles but if the word is 5 letters long double it
six letters long treble it
god bless and forever keep morewords
and I don;t know wjhat happens with 7 and 8 letter words!
oh, yes, crossy, I'd never finish without it!
don't see last two co5 words
me neither
well thank you, some of it means a lot to me!!

Hey, well done you! This is a really hard grid
it is a really hard grid and I've used Morewords a lot for the last 10 or so words
I've just found a word I've never come across lu5 a kind of wood resembling mahogonay form the Phillipines - L plus vowels plus N
3 vowels even

that is my mantra, clean tomorrow! lol
righto - offff to bed, happy babbling
Hey off to bed? what time is it there? I just got back from seeing the Hunger Games
the Hunger \Games, what's that? people running after a sandwich...
onyx - i really didn't like that movie.. in a way i think it was prob a good movie because it disturbed me but then i didn't like it cause it disturbed me.. lol
yawn, oh only another movie...
I'm seeing 'The Cabin in the Woods' on Monday
Not as good as the book. A distopian world that was sadly abbreviated in the movie.
... Haven't read the book but I hope it's better than the movie ... the movie didn't really explain why the society was doing this and what the powers be were hoping or expecting to gain ... ... really didn't show why the kids were doing it .... i.e. motivations were bad ... of course they can cover that with twenty pages of explanation in the book ... but it isn't action so it gets left out of the movie
True. The book explains the history and complexities of how the world got to be that way and that some of the tributes were trying to resist. A whole resistance movement was born from Katniss and her actions
I'll DEFINITELY be seeing 'The Avengers' at the end of the month
Oh yeah and the prequel for Alien.
... because you liked the comics? or because you like explosionx? ... must admit that I found Iron Man really disappointing
Cause i read those comics when i was a kid
And The Dark Knight Rises, and Skyfall, and The Hobbit, and the new Spider-Man film
... good reason ... ... but I'll bet it disappoints ...
Oh, and Men in Black III
clue for the zc7 pls
Probably but i am a sucker. Prometheus looks good though
ac7 :p
... ac7 ... being sad about drinking too much booze
... a silly clue
... ac + an opening in something + country ending
Not silly, I think it's clever : )
... yeah ... but it need to be an al8 word to be truly clever
ty-tuff one there
I don't get the appeal of The Hunger Games.
giving up, on 39 words, nite nite all,,,,,,
... yeah ... it was a tough one today ... ... g'night
Must have had to read the Books.
Don't get the appeal of the story, books or movie. Like Lbuxx said, disturbing. I don't read or go to the movies to get disturbed.
It's a series of books meant for young adults in a dystopian future
I'm familiar with what it's about Bich. That is why I've had no desire to get into the story.
Hubby and I read the books. I liked the first. The next one was repetitive and the third was okay. But, violent as they are, they have a lot to say.
That's okay Molly, not everybody lkes the same things.
well to each their own. I have seen a whole lot of kids get really excited about reading as a result of the books. mostly young teen boys who would not ordinarily read. Good against evil. Adventure. Sci fi.
... kids who read seem to like them because they're the heros who beat the bad grown ups
I don't think that is their only appeal some of the grown ups are good. some of the kids are evil
Katniss is a strong hero making a lot of ethical choices. That's why I enjoyed the book.
It's funny how when someone (me) expresses an opinion here that is not in sync with someone else, it always garners that "to each their own" comment. Hey, it's okay if you (anyone) likes these stories. And it's okay for me to say I don't get the appeal. That's conversation.
The movie over simplified the nuances of the book. Katniss is the hero but Peeta and Cinna and Gael are too
... always the problem ... ... I've read LOTR 10 or 20 times ... but everything that I read the books for is not in the movie at all ... because it's not action or acdtionable ... ... didn't like those movies at all
Molly, i did not mean any thing by the comment. Certainly not being critical
Me either dose. In fact the lotr movies missed the whole point of the books
molly.. i usually dont get "disturbed" by movies at all.. big horror movie fan. .but this one got me.. i think it was because kids were involved..
... I'm sure it's the same with the Hunger games
I personally like to read things that "disturb" me gets me to think.
liked the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo for the same reason, the strength of a woman character and it didn't have anything to do with sex.
I could not get through The Lord Of The Rings books at all. Way too much description. I loved the movies though.
... yeah ... but I walked out of Titanic because I didn't need to watch real people in a real situation die in terror over an extended time ... ...
Couldn't watch the movies!
LOTR, especially the poetry is real literature
IMHO
... yes ... but the whole history and character and reason for being in LOTR had to be left out ... and that's what i read the books to enjoy
Titanic is like everyone's nightmare. Who wants to go see that on the big screen?
down to 3.. can someone clue the to 5/10?
Can't wait for The Hobbit movie
that awful Celine Dilon song from the titanic, didn't go down well with me, won't be sorry if I never hear it again...
also the AC 7/36?
... that was my feeling ... ... nice story .. but didn't need the final fortyfive minutes
and the last co 5/12?
this grid is killin me..
... ac ... check back to 4:16
small bed + adjective
.. and me too
I'm looking forward to The Hobbit movie too.
... one keeps one's fingers crossed ...
i am so not getting that clue dos..
a small bed you might sleep on while camping + a two letter adjective modifying a noun
thanks guys got the small bed one.. I can't get the AC clue.. not making sense to me.. brain is smoking.. lol
ahh.. i'll come back to it later.. gotta run.. have a good weekend all :-)
... ac ... a british word for vacation (in the singular) ... two vowels
... someone tell me how I missed the subject that I teach ... ... I need a new prescription for my glasses ...
ac 6 word is ac + hawaiian greeting with extra vowel near the end of the word lbuxx.
I was clueing the co 5 word
Last co 5/12 word is co plus skin color from the sun lbuxx.
... a tough one ... but with the list and some clues it's done ... may I offer any clues before running to make dinner? ...
... then ... barkeep! break out that bottle of good luck to end everyone's Friday the 13th on a high note ... ... 'til tomorrow
Later Dose. And thanks for being honest. "A tough one" is what this is. I just laugh when people finish one like this and say "fun grid!"
I'm just sitting here making up word after word only to discover they aren't words
too vowely.
I don't have ANY of the 6's.
oc6/24, plural sea creature with eight legs
Vowely, good word.
va6/30, guy who drives the moving va*
ji6=crunchy white veggie
and hi again all!
Now I have 2 6's.
:)
As I've said before, my produce stand doesn't stock half the vegetables that most Babble people seem so familiar with.
I don't know that vegetable and we have Whole Foods.
and all kinds of Farmers' Markets.
I guess we aren't exotic enough Kap. Pass the green beans and potatoes please. : )

clue for the ac7?
yes, for me too please
ac7 starts like a pain and ends with the first three of one who's pants are on fire. Put a vowel in the middle.

Not obvious in the least

Hello jesdraggon! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
Thanks MollyL! I have two cute young nephews. I saw them both for Easter.I wish I lived closer to them.Only get to see them a couple of times a year. They grow up so quickly!
there's a distinct lack of 'e' in this grid.
I have been saving the last word since 11:30 this morning.
Maybe I should enter it now so I don't forget about it later.
Just found the ca7 - a kind of melon
Or maybe it is a kind of tree.
I'm all finished! I have fireworks! ac7/36 was my last word.
congrats min!
I have story in my profile.I'll also be here to clue if needed.
Fireworks. Last word was pa7
Congratulations wht on your outburst of fireworks!Hooray!

The at6/21 word is at plus a vowel plus not a female viajes
It is the name of a Babbler + male

*passes a cider to min in the pb*
hey all ((gives Min lovely choclits)) I taught FOUR days this week! All at the same school -- new personal record!
thanks for the clue story, Minver, I got several from it. :)
yay stid!
wtg stid
oh, nice, stiddy! :)
I hope you-all had nice weeks and are now enjoying the beginning of a lovely weekend?
Hello stidmama! How are you doing?Welcome to the puzzle
I taught ZERO days this week and LOVED it! How were your four days of teaching stidmama? It sounds like you liked it.
Hello rbud! How are you doing? I am glad my story helped.
oooh. CA 7 tree!!!
they were mostly good, Wednesday was very challenging. The kids in those classes by and large were not accustomed to doing actual work when substitutes were in the room, and so there were a few issues, but mostly minor ones. :-) I am getting WAY better at avoiding, averting and adapting to disasters!
mmm. chocotaco
YESSSSS!!! NBT already!
How dare you,a sub, who actually expects kids to do work!
Hi Stid and rbud
do kids still do things to subs like we used to - "pssst, at exactly 2:15 let's all drop our pencils at once!!" lol!
:)
rofl Min! a MEAN sub, so unreasonable...
Stid, if you can do well as a sub, it should be easier when you have your own class.
they try, rbud. I wait, and then if I have to wait too long explain that if they waste my time during instruction I will waste the time they are given to get to the next class... *wicked teacher look* it usually works, even when I am bluffing!
Sometimes I have to cover classes for teachers who do not get subs and they treat me like I'm a sub and I'm a regular teacher whom they see every single day in the building.
yep. I don't let the kids get very far with that one. I tell them that I am a REAL teacher who is taking time this year to be available for my family... which is true. And that eases some of their anxiety over the day not being what they anticipated.
thanks wht -- that is the other reason I chose to sub. I knew my basic classroom management needed work (it wasn't really addressed in my teacher program other than as theory), so figured my best bet was to get in there and see how lots of other teachers set their kids up for success. At least, that's the plan. Occasionally I am taking notes on how I will NEVER run my classroom...
I don't think i ever did mean things to a sub... now, my regular teachers, they either loved or despised me...
a friend of mine who subbed for years said she used to tell the kids she was "powermad" and would make their lives miserable if they didn't cooperate, haha!
but it wasn't intentional. i'm just, er, difficult? sometimes.
I once had a kid tell me that ESL isn't a REAL class so he doesn't have to go.I told him that if he skips my class he will have REAL consequences which he then soon found out when he tried to skip the class. Don't mess with me!
Funny thing is, jes -- I have basically enjoyed ALL the kids I have worked with, even when I wasn't able to meet all their needs. It's frustrating, but usually it's not the kid's fault, right? I don't understand when teachers give kids the impression they aren't "good" -- although to be honest by the time the kids reach the upper grades so often they have internalized (from home or school or someone else) that "bad kid" persona that they really do make things very difficult on purpose. Which, my dear jes, I am sure you never did.
OH!!!! JESS!!!!!! do you want to hear my hummingbird rescue story?
heh. no, i was difficult on teachers for non-standard reasons. like requesting to take 2 independent study courses from the same teacher during his "free" period. Poor guy ended up teaching 3 different classes to a group of about a dozen of us.
oh.... *giggle* you were more driven as a student than I was. I just took the basic A/B grade and floated on through.
and we were all nuts. he walked into class one day, and there were 2 people standing on desks making bird calls, one walking backwards around the room pulling a little wooden ducky on wheels while someone else tried to steal it, and 2 people playing ... crap. forget the name. the "game" where you stab a knife into the table between your fingers as fast as you can? playing that with a barbie leg (no idea where the rest of the barbie was), and the rest of us playing hangman at the blackboard...
oh. only just found the word that the Dutch call "gracht"
i like hummingbirds :)
*gasp* *heavy sigh* (whispered) oh dear...
I have to say that I was a goodie two shoes in school. I had perfect attendance in high school until senior year. Then I had my first absence when I took a day to go visit a college
I want to hear about the hummingbird, stid!! all ears --> )o(
I almost failed to graduate...
okay, so yesterday was lovely and I did NOT work. So in the afternoon I opened the back door so Lucky could come in and out. HE went for walkabout by himself (I should have seen that coming, but didn't) and the hummingbird decided to visit the budgies.
My high school had this thing called "Senior Skip Day" when all of the seniors would skip a day of school. Do you think I did it,nope! Needless to say, I was not part of the "in"crowd
because I didn't have enough fine arts credits. Too busy taking science classes. ended up finagling them into accepting wood-shop as a fine arts class.
I was mostly good in school except for my Senior year civics class where I know more about the subject than the teacher.
But the budgies are in the middle of the main living space, and the kitchen is so much brighter... with the skylight (which doesn't open) and all.
so the little critter got all confused and tried to fly out the skylight. And didn't know to go DOWN and out the door.
oh dear!
I had to find the old pool skimmer (down by the shed, not sure where we got it, we never had a pool!) and the dustmop.
Put the dustmop up to trap the hummer so it had to stop and rest on it (by this time the little guy was really tired anyway, and kept panting).
I don't know, maybe it's just me being from New England, but what is a budgie stidmama?
Then I had to hold the pool skimmer over it to block it from thinking it could fly up and back to the skylight. Took about six tries.
parakeet, minver
Oh, ok
I am very glad that I was able to get it outside again, it looked quite bedraggled by the time I was done.
thanks jes
*proud mama look* I was as stubborn with that little guy as I am with my students!
You did a good deed saving that hummingbird! Because of you, that hummingbird is probably with its family again.
Stid, I always liked the teachers who expected a lot from their students.
I had this odd belief that learning was fun.
very dexterous of you, stid, to manage the two long handles! good job!
good job stid :)
thanks, wht! I do expect a lot, and I find that MOST of the kids, even the ones who struggle, like to have someone tell them they are capable of the next step. And then step in to support as needed.
and now, i must away to remove the porcupine quills from the mastiff. ta!
oh no jes! spring, of course! see you later. ((hugs))
I was bad, the outstanding highest scoring student, and constantly bored, so I had my own permanent hall pass and key to the counselor's office, to help keep me out of trouble.
oh, before i go-- you should (if you haven't heard it already) look up how to turn your classroom into a roleplaying game :)
oh, poor mastiff! no fun to be a pincushion! good luck with that, jes!
hm... will go do that now jes! :-D
Learning was a lot f fun when I was little, but now it seems like education has turned into test prep and nothing else.
some kids need that, rbud -- I try to get those kids to engage in other ways whenever possible. But it's a tricky balancing act, keeping all the kids challenged in their own ways in these really crowded classrooms.
okay, Lucky needs his mama. back later *poof*
I never actually graduated high school, went to college on an early entry program. have a dbl BS, but no high school diploma. hard to explain on job aps.
later, stid, jes
Next week, thestudents in New York take the state ELA tests and the week after that they take the Math exams Then 4th and 8th graders have to take the science tests and all the ESL students have to take the state ESL test.
Goodbye stidmama! I will see you tomorrow in the chat log
rbud, when our son was in 5'th grade, we were having one of our continuing arguments with him about doing his homework, and he said to us, "but when I'm in college, no one will care what my grades were in 5'th grade."
That stopped the argument. We knew he was right, but he wasn't supposed to have figured that out yet.
And how did you respond to that wht? Your son was correct
It stopped us cold at the time, but it didn't stop the fights over homework.
It was only later that we learned that he had executive function problems that made doing homework really hard for him. We were still thinking that if he just applied himself a little, he would do really well.
I was soooo bored in school, would yak away and distract other kids, but could still quote back verbatim whatever the teacher had said... they hated me.
It was a real challenge. He is very smart but he also has learning disabilities. It is a surprisingly tough combination to deal with.
oh, I hear that. our son is genius level IQ but spent years in alternative schools, for pretty much what I used to get away with back in the day. he never wanted to do homework, wouldn't bring it home. couldn't concentrate, bored easily.
I was never social enough to distract other kids, rbud. I would do things like do my assingned reading during lectures, and things like that.
constantly "taking others off task" - I got so tired of seeing that on the notes he'd bring home...
At least he brought them home, rbud.
well, at least you were being productive!
I never knew why I had to take Probability. To this day I do not use it that much except to try amd figure out what the probability of me finishing a a babble grid on a given day
lol, Min! :)
Yea rbud. I usually had my homework done by the time I got home from school. And I never had study halls.
they wouldn't let my hubby graduate high school, though he had plenty of credits - he got a full time job in senior year and skipped the last half of the day for the whole year - now they have programs allowing kids to do just that.
he'd have been the valedictorian if they'd let him graduate, sigh...
so eventually, in his 30's, he took and passed the GED test in only one try to get the paper.
Homework was never an issue for me.It was just part of my daily routine. Come home and eat a snack and start homework, then have dinner and finish homework after dinner and then bed. Was only allowed to watch the TV once a week for an hour so that wasn't even part of the daily routine.Maybe that is why I am addictef to TV now
everyone else (127 of them) he was in the GED class with had to take classes, he tested out.
Not that I am really addicted TV, but I do have it on all the time as background noise if I am not actually watching it.
I liked homework, actually, used to do it up fancy when I could, loved graphic design type things, maps, drawings, diaramas...
Believe it or not, I do not watch any shows that are on now
there's not much worth watching, I don't think.
I loved research papers. I loved looking stuff up.
oh, me, too - used to do other people's papers in college for money, lol!
<---Thinks Wht was Teacher's Pet
I always had trouble with homework. My parents had to help me every night. Was very fortunate enough to have parents who cared and supported my education.I see so many parents today who do not care about education.
now I'm a librarian, maybe it was all that happy time spent in libraries back then...
I never tried to make nice to the teachers. I just wanted to learn.
Min, sadly, that is true. Parents seem to take very little interest in their kids education these days.
But there was one time in high school physics where we had a test that I had completely spaced out on. I walked into class and the teacher started passing out the tests, and I had no clue there was a test that day.
oh, dear, wht, how'd you do?
Unfortunately, library program suffered budget cuts.We do have a full time librarian.Only certain grades get library as a prep. We used to have a great librarian in our school.
I totally tanked the test. There was another boy in the class who was all excited because he had gotten a better grade than I had for the first time. Then the teacher said that he thought that maybe the test was too hard, and when he saw that I had done poorly, he decided that he wouldn't count the grades.
My friend was really angry about that. He beat me and it didn't count.
The teacher decided the test was too hard because you didn't do well on it?
Art and music programs have also suffered fro budget cuts.
Yep
I wasn't honorable enough to admit what had happened. I just accepted that on that day the universe was smiling on me.
Wow, I've never heard anything like that before. A teacher gauging the severity of a test on one student.
Well, he was thinking that he had made the test too hard before he started grading it.
they used to throw out my grades all the time to make the bell curve work, the kids hated me for that - and that was in college! :P
I stayed up for the flip last night for cosdem. Not sure if I'll make it tonite. My brain is starting to fade very quickly now
Wow, I'm not smart enough for this group.
Me neither MollyL!
well, that was also after I took 5 years off to party and came back much older, wiser and more motivated
Well that was when I was smart. Then I had kids and they taught me that I wasn't as smart as I thought.
It was hard growing up not being the "smart" one in the family. My two sisters were the smart ones in the family.
Altough apparently, now that they are in their twenties, I have started knowing something again. :^)
My 2 sisters were able to get good grades without studying
<--- still waiting for our kids to discover I'm not as think as they dumb I am, lol
Had to have tutors all through high school and college and I still struggled trying to get just okay grades. Barely made it through high school and college, but I did fortunately.
LOL rbud!
Min, that is one of the reasons I would make a lousy teacher, I never had to work at learning, so I never had to think about how to do it.
I can't understand why people don't get things that seem obvious to me.
If I had to work at it, I would have a better understanding of how to help other people get it.
I grew up in a family of intellectuals, however, that was not me. Even now, when I go home, i don't understand half of the things they talk about. So I just sit there and say nothing. They are so in tuned with everything in the world&then there's me who does not read a newspaper.
Well time for me to go. Happy Babbling all. And none of this will be on the test!
Goodnight wht! I will see you tomorrow in the chog maybe
oh, wandered off for a minute, had to rescue a table I had painted white from Hubby's shop, where he was beginning a black spray painting job, could have a speckled table! :P
wouldn't want that!
It must be the day for babblers save things today. First, stidmama saves a hiummingbird, then you save a table.
especially since it took me almost 2 years (off and on) of stripping, rebuilding, sanding, gluing, and painting to get it looking this good, lol! :D
omg what a great game! Nats Nats Nats!
You also just saved your husband's life by saving your table
yup! (Nats?)
Hello jmcnrick! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
Nationals just won in the 13th inning on Friday the 13th
hi all
rbud your kids will figure out you are not dumb sometime in their 20s
cool, jmc, figured it was a sports thing - but both kids are already in their 20's, hope it doesn't take much longer, lol!
about 24 for my boy
with occasional relapses
I don't know, my hubby is in his fourties and still claims he knows EVERYTHING!
nbt finally
ha, ours is 2 months from turning 21, he's at the height of his know-it-allness. :P
haha that is because you are his wife that doesn't count!
well there you go. . . something about making your own way after college is usually the turning point
I finally had to list with 38 left, brain is drained.
now I'm getting somewhere, lol!
go rbud go
i think nbt was enough for me
just psyched from the game and needed a small bite of the grid to finish the day
th 4 and 5, would never have noticed them without the list, sigh... will never be able to come close to dart and volley and the like, just don't have the babblet brain.
Me neither rbud, as I duly noted in my story of clues today.
i think they monkey faster than some as well as knowing prodigious amounts of words
<--- not a good monkier, either. :(
me either i always lose track except for 4 letter words
I just plod along, happy to make halfway most days. but I like to find the big ones before I give up.
That is about the extent of my babbling skills also, 4 letter words. Then if I am luck I can get some 5 letter words also.
*lucky
i can get longer ones but not from monkeying them
ALWAYS resort to the list after I have found half the words.
there have been a couple of smaller non-mean grids i got without a list but none without a clue!
I will NEVER be a babbler who is able to babble sans lists.
ac7/36, strange one. like booze, al*o*** (but leave out the first L and O) and end with two vowels
or similar to the end of melan******, a state of depression and sadness
ty rbud that makes nbs for me
that may have been one of the hardest 7's, though the ji7 is odd, too, some sort of spanish turnip.
oops, that's a ji6, not 7
ji6? i eat that all the time. . . mexican and more like a radish
cut it up in strips for a nice crunch to your salad
there is vi 6 AND vi 7, never heard of them before
hmmm, so I keep reading in the chog, may have to try it, I like that sort of thing.
i have a va6
suv+not lady
very refreshing with a little little bite not as much as a decent radish
okie I am done for the night with 66 left
vi 6 = vi* and vigor, and the last 3 of the mi4 bird
off to read about zones of peace in war zones
bye all
sounds interesting, later! :)
*poof*
wahhhh, so many weird words! :P
indeed, i thought, oh 119, sure, no problem...
it's like Babble saved up a bunch of odd ones to throw at this one little grid
Goodbye jmcnrick! I will see you tomorrow in the chat log.
Hello LeslieAnn!How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
heya min
hello all. I have 5 left
19 here
Hello m9f9l! How are you doing? Welcome to the chat log.
Go m9f9l go!
oooh... "the chat log"... mixing it up a bit I see!
4
26 left, and nearly sobbing when I find one I should have known, but am too shell-shocked by all the odd ones to see, lol!
LOL.. I know
heehee, sounds like an emotional grid for you rbud
I may be traumatized, oh no! ;p
I have 2 5s, have tried every combination except 1!!!! an 5/12 and av 5/16
but hey, can stick L on the end of lots of seemingly normal words, who knew?
3
av - bird
ty
an5 same as the comics but diff last vowel?
ha ha.. yup.. that gets a lot of them!

Hey, yall. Any of our nurses/doctors around? I have a question about Blepharitis.
that's just so wrong, lol - like the co5 alt spelling for the bamboo-eating bear, what's up with that? not fair, not fair! hahaha...
hi, LA, m9, rbud, gemini, et al :)
dc! you still have hair in Babbleland!
hi!
ty for co5. Oh, so i do! Mayhap i should change that :D
Blepharitis?
1
here's what NIH has to say about Blepharitis: http://tinyurl.com/3s2ye7q
it hurts, and looks bad. Been cleaning with Q-tips, but so far no improvement, of course i started this afternoon. It first crept up last night.
Sunlight on it feels FABULOUS!
FW!!!! attagirl!! or rather at6! (my last word. But I'm not a guy)
Oh it sounds sad :-(
huzzah m9!
yay, m9!!
well, dc, your pictures look fine, no sign of the problem - and love how your sweater matches your beard - but why are you on your side, hmmmm?
though I almost get the feeling of a mug shot from some of them... still nice shots of the new haircut.
hello everyone :)
Just stopped in to see if anyone needed help
am 5/12 is my last
still struggling along, 18 to go. learning lots of new babblets.
oh found it! fireworks
an 5/12 -- I forgot to put the es in it
*am 5/12 that is
yay, Leslie!!
congrats leslie
hi cybernan - I could use a hint for what will probably be a fish but ca 4,5 is killing me
ca + not high
YAY leslieann
I am sure I monkeyed that at least 45 times! Thanks nan
congrats on the babies
what do you need rbud? only have a few minutes before i crash :)
on my side?
ty bugsaw
oh, weird. no clue. never uploaded like that before.
hm
let me tweak that...
turn the photo in a photo editor, save it and upload again
Thing is, it's upright on computer, flickr, facebook, google, so it's a babble thing
but i'll turn it for Babble.
oh, I'll get done, thanks anyway, enjoying the slow pace. only 12 left now.
i loved how the color shone with it longer.
Congratuations LeslieAnn on your fireworks! Good for you!
true, it does look more all the same color shorter, you had some highlights with it long.
this puzzle looks ugly
made me think of Hubby, his used to be really long, he laughed about how he could meet girls by "tossing it back onto them" at bars, lol
it is jen -- don't even start with only 45 minutes left
Congratulations m9f9l on your fireworks! Hooray for you!!
already did, just seeing what i can find!
it looks darker short, what you saw in the long pix was all natural, with highly humectant shampoo and conditioner that i use at every length.
Hello JenMO16! How are you doing? Welcome to the chog.
hi all, seeing if I can finish with expert...
hey min!
Hello uusue2! How are you doing? Welcome to the chat log
there, fixed, that was weird
hi min! I am good.
i turned it, and it uploaded right. i turned it back, it uploaded right. no clue what went wrong 1st try with this photo that it showed up sideways. *shrug*

Goodnight to all babblers!I'll see you later on today maybe

lower eyelids that should read
oh, okay, it's on your lowers? ouch.
