extra word? strange...
It happens from time to time, viajes -- different dictionary
hi Jilly
sorry , I'm very spaced out today
wow that was easy; Ds done sans list

any particular reason, pug?
some virus going round
there is no co 7/36, even though indicated in lickety's list

oh, that's icky, pug!

lethaargic
thought that might be the one, nan -- thanks
Nan -- there is a co 7/36 -- starting from the c in the bottom of the first coluymn
ty arb!
I have a co7/32 Arb
there is, however, a de 7-8 that I haven't found
so I guess the co7's are not the extra word on list
oh - reight, arb - missed that one!
There are 2 co 7's
my neither nan on the 7-8 pair. not a clue
I have all the Cs and the list matches.
The extra word is an on 8
thanks anike
don't see the co 7/36 either
ah yes, anike is right -- my grid says I've found all the Os but lickety says on8 is missing
nor I, the only C I'm missing
okay, sleepy time -- see everyone "tomorrow"
Can anyone help me with co 7 - not the qone about agreeing to
hi nan and pug - the co 8 is like courtney cox's married name (rhyme)
co + fold-up bed + doubled last letter + vowel
or a cuter version of co 4/6
arb's clue is less opaque :)
ty weird word
do you still need the de 7 & 8?

co7/36 builds off the 4 before it. Weird word, like a feminine version of the co4.
Thanks - found it
morning babble friends
hey spritey
rose :) How are you today? And how did it go?
woohooo, just over 4 weeks until i can have this blessed knee fixed
oh that is wonderful! Counting dowwwwwnnnn!
work not so bad, had enough staff on to cope with the volume of patients( well, there is always a first time)
lol, spritey, you realise that i will be here, every night for 8 weeks? how will cope with that, hun?
I will celebrate every time. Just wish it were for more fun reasons, rose!
you know? it's like when i finally had my left shoulder operated on. couldn't believe how much pain i WASN'T having.
yes, that is an amazing feeling, lol. Imagine how much energy it must have cost to keep on going all that time.
at the time, my surgeon called me a stoic....c'mon, me, a stoic...i don't think so!!!
stoic? Well, maybe in a way, yes. Because you managed.
* grin * well he did catch me out the following morning...out of bed, doing my physiotherapy
that is not stoic, that is heroic :D I take it the man is no Babbler. Needs to learn about words!
lol, very loudly, spritey, nah, was just doing what i knew had to be done.
and you, my dear friend, how are you?
hun, believe me, that is the very definition of heroic. It hurts, it is scary but you know it has to be done... and you do it.
*sigh* thanx for your support, dear heart
I am good. Had 2 busy days so will take it easy today. Learning to pace myself. Did the finances yesterday (also kinda heroic) so now I have peace of mind.
finances???? certainly heroic....i actually filed 3 years of receipts last week....himself can't believe it has happened
oh wow! Order in chaos :D Good job, rose. Feels good, doesn't it.
now that you mention it...yeah it does feel good...i know exactly where each receipt is....sad indictment of our times....i think the male in the partnership should have this knowledge....( grin )
hehehe yeah me too... but often it is the other way around. Here we always say, it is the lame one helping the blind one... I am not good at it (panic attacks etc) but my love is even worse. So I do it. And make him support me through the ordeal, grinnn.
lol, spritey, ditto here...
:D
and so, my dear friend, how far are youn into this grid? do you need a hand wih the 7's and 8?
let me see... still 71 left, and only one 7 found. I would love the stats for the 8, and a clue for that co7 that was mentioned in chat just before I joined. Something about a feminine form?
awww, spritey? just read your profile. for goodness sake, darling, with all that is happening,....you have not let anyone done.
thanks rose :) Maybe some people. But I had to make a decision that was good for me, for a change.
de8 is a plural of de7, lair + rhododen****( a flowering bush/shrub)
thanks! New word for me.
co7, co + child's bed + 7th note of doh, re, mi
co7, agreement
cr7, c + about + hollow in car panel after collision
thank you, it was the one with the child's bed.
en7, past tense of en6, and plural of en6 ( repeated bows by theatre cast)
re6, what happens with flash to ey4 in photo, then plural for re7
sc7, past tense of sc5, deride
thanks again, rose :)
np's spritey, is that them all?
that is all of 'm. Only small ones left now.
yay, spritey, you go, girl
thanks to you I do, lol
oh, dear, the timer just went off on the oven....guess that means dinner is ready. see you at the flip, my friend, and if you see ruby, please say "hi" from me
enjoy dinner, rose, will do and *hugs* for you.

hello everyone
hi Annie
hi bichon, is it raining in CT?
yes :-)
I love the Spring when it rains and everything glistens green
yes, that is beautiful.
the only bad thing about the rain is the dogs don't want to go out
that can present a problem..how do you get them to go out?
by brute force <ggg> Just put their leashes on them and pull. The rain makes their curls go crazy
I have to remember to keep the cellar door closed or they'll go downstairs and force the issue
stats for bottom c, pls
Having never had a dog silly me would pick them up and carry them all over. Cats are my thing. I would have a dog but living in an apartment building I just was too lazy to get up in the AM and walk the dog so I opted for cats and have the scratches to prove it.
I like walking them, even in the early AM. Gets me moving.

Yes. Oy. Finally done. Time to re-start. BBS.
I went blind with that clue too. And I think one of my nerve cells broke.
well,my flower clue should get it done:)
for some reason as soon as I read Une's clue I got it.
you know these egghead professors..:))
Okay. I'm back and apparently adequately protected, according to Microsoft.

Good morning, babblers!!

howdy nana
do you have a bar to help you crossy? sounds like maybe you should!
I would love to see a video of all the curse words repeated back to exercise video instructors when they say something like "feel the burn". : )
car seatbelt fastening is now an official crossy olympic sport.."and lets go to slo-motion ken!"look at that motion...annnnd he gets it fastened in onee!" "boy oh boy folks,he was really sweating there and at one point it looked like he was going to pass out,but the betlt is fastened!!" time 22.359 seconds and thats a personal best ken!
lol,time for more tea...
I know, Molly! I am probably one of those people....hahah
Oh I know I am TNana.
Have a t-shirt made with a seat belt printed on it, Crossy. Just slip it on before you get in the car.
Good Lord, I just realized that over half the words in this grid come from 4 tiles - C, D, E and S
i get more exercise trying to open the damn shrink wrap on the tape or dvd.i would like to meet the sadist who put that crap on there"tighter..tighter!..no wrinkes....must be tighter...
the flower said "i wish i was a tree" the tree said "i wish i could be a different kind of tree" the cat wished that it was a bee, the turtle wished that it could fly really high into the sky over rooftops and then dive deep into the sea, and in the sea there is a fish, a fish that has a secret wish, a wish to be a big cactus with a pink flower on it
cute hurshy,i want to come back as a dung beetle
No shit?
lol
i would never go hungry
lol
Ewwwww.
*curls up in jammies to listen to hurshy's stories*
I thought you only come back as a dung beetle if you had really, really bad karma.
well, a sea turtle may be a good choice, but spending the next 250 years for my mate to get done in the bathroom is not for me
*Gest in the Zen groove with Hursh*
or those 3500 mile trips to lay eggs? no ty
it is a song called "tree hugger" from the Juno movie soundtrack. i like it a lot. :)
That's the female turtle's job, Crossy. You would be free to float about and eat your fill of jellyfish.
but crossy likes BACON.
i can see it now"dear we have to go to the beach now.." "but dear, what about this beach right here..its a good beach" "no,you know it has to be the one we were at last year" sigh..ill go pack...
turtles like bacon in my experience
True. And I suppose the child support for 100 + baby turtles would be brutal.
mmm,tutle soup with bacon....
turtle
but how many of them get to eat it, jmc?
haha did i tell you when i was in Kenya there was this amazingly loud grunting sound. . .
and it turned out it was two giant turtles mating
hi all
neat:)
howdy jmc
*covers eyes* Turtle porn.
it was like a bad porn movie in slow motion
I have series of photographs I took of two snapping turtles mating. It is not a quiet affair. Lots of threshing about.
just think of some nice turtle soup instead judi
is it a quiet affair with any species?
hi again all!
lol turtle sex"well ok,but i am not going on the bottom this time, last time you conned me into that,i was stuck on my back for a week!!"
hi all
No! Turtles deserve to be left alone - not eaten.
it is weird how some creatures reproduce so plentifully and easily and others do not. i mean panda bears have only one kid at a time usually and not that often, and they sometimes eat them after they are born
babbling while students are taking their final - am I bad?
i think some insects are fairly quite
of course not sue
no you are efficient
multi-tasking suze
no turtle do not use the missionary position
ha, efficient, I like that!
:-)
lol, come back nest week and she is still laying there"will someone plase turn me over!!"
only in babble - turtle kama sutra
I think our mission should be to make uusue laugh out loud during that final exam.
haha good plan judi
Well, you are definietly making me smile, which is probably unnerving my students :-)
you guys certainly made me laugh out loud at the office and in meetings enough times
let us know when you have a mouthfull of coffe suze,i will see if i can get you to spray all the kids in the front row
LOL, kje!
::STREAKS THROUGH CHOG::
bwahahahha
no coffee here, I'm afraid
I said make her laugh, Eva. Not scare her to death.
what no coffee at a final exam that is cruel!
:P
I work on a college campus, judi, takes more than that to scare me!
Only because, if we made her laugh, she'd spew coffee all over her laptop.
eva,can you do that again please? i had the darn lens cap on...
desktop here, brand new and very smart classroom
stats for the corner C please (sorry to interrupt with a grid matter)
::does a little tushie shake::
hi back from breakfast. No bacon for cholesterol challenged me

co 7/36, co 4/6

Shake your booty; shake your booty
poor bichon:(
hint for the o 7/36, pls
ty hursh and bichon
*co 7/36
crossy, did i tell you one of my photos got PUBLISHED?? :X
there is soy bacon which is actually tolerable
neato evan where?
very nice eva:))
I'll stick with oatmeal, thank you
Good for you, Eva! Details, woman!
nbt
yay jmc!
there is a magazine that focuses on modern pin-up photography. they did a whole special edition focusing on my friend/photographer. she included one of my photos with all the rest!
Awesome!
soy bacon?? my god! may as well not bother at all
Yes. Soy bacon seems... wrong.
amen to that crossy. I have had soy pepperoni though. Not bad
well it may not be that great yet but suppose they could eventually get it so that you genuinely couldn't tell the difference?
though i count my colesterol blessings every day
I have had turkey bacon. It's not a bad substitute, but I don't don't know how much less the cholesterol level is.
remember when Mcdonalds had the veggie burger? lasted about a month
crossy, McDs still has that in other places!
why go to Mickey D's to have a veggie burger.
i am told the salt content in the turkey bacon outweighs its other benifits
they actually change their menu based on what country/region they are in
did not know that eva
please i need answers to my question
what was your question hurshy
the look more than anything else is the problem. . . no nice waves when the nonfat cooks
lone bottom n?
computer geek
if they could eventually make veg-based substitutes for meats that you genuinely couldn't tell from the meat, would you eat them or would you still feel like it was "wrong"
ty
no, I would eat them. But, they've got a long way to go
i never think it is wrong,it just tastes like shit,so if they could make one where you coult not tell the difference, then yes,i would eat it
hurshy, I personally wouldn't care but then I am not much of a purist (nor do I eat much meat)
oh good, that is a relief.
actually soy burgers have texture that is so close many can't tell the difference and notdogs are virtually identical to hot dogs
if they tasted the same, didnt cost more, and weren't more unhealthy, then sure. but many of them DO cost more and are loaded with unhealthy things to make them taste closer to meat...
notdogs??? ok thats it! stop the world and let me off!
<==hangs out with lots of vegetarians
i know i know, but they keep working on these things.
haha yeah the notdogs have just as much sodium that is for sure
Veggie propaganda
I wouldn't eat them
i have been buying Quorn products - they are not soy, they are made from fungus... mycoproteins.
soylet green,here we come:))
when I was a strict vegetarian I stayed away from imitation meat - just didn't make sense to me and I preferred to enjoy the vegetables and grains on their own terms
oh, kje, please explain why not
trust me i am not a veggie. . . i loves my steak which they haven't even tried to duplicate
soylent*
I don't eat mushroom, so fungus is out for me
crossy, did you know in england, in McDs you can get fish fingers and waffle fries?
no,i did not,very interesting eva
i don't eat mushrooms either bc i don't like the texture but these are not like that
I don't eat any highly processed foods... in the long run, they are worse.... if you want veggies, eat the veggies
Mmmmm. Fungus.
but eva, can you get fish fingers and CUSTARD? :)
i think if you refuse to eat meat because it is cruel you shouldn't eat fake meat that imitates the cruelty
ah well that makes sense kje
in France you can get wine and beer at McD's (as well as croissants for breakfast)
dip the fish in the custard??
In Aus you can get fish hamburgers which I think is the devil
heh, i dont think so, hurshy. but im sure they have a little saved in the back for the doctor. ;)
fidh hamburgers? not fish sammies?
in hawaii you can get sushi
oh eva i am so glad you knew what i meant!
* Wonders how the Brits manage to grow fish with fingers *
those fillet-o-fish are nasty
well, maki rolls anyway
The other half had a fillet o fish tonight apparently it was 'squishy''
(it was some of those nazi scientists they jailed judi)
in india, they have a "Chicken Maharaja-Mac" -- kinda like a Big Mac, but with chicken
i figure if i eat enough cow,i can cut down on greenhouse gasses created by too many cows farting..its a process...;)
so nobody answered the earlier clue request for co7...
don't have it, hurshy
in rome you can get calimari at mikey Ds
(the one from the lower C that is)
from turtle sex to cow farts.... who said surrealism is dead
although "concoct" is a nice phantom...
concert is a nice phantom too
and concert
wd crossy!
some one early Hurshy said it was similar to a female garment. Let me have a look
salvadore dali was my hero
i believe i read once that, at least in parts of the year, up in New England, you can get Lobster Rolls -- anyone know if thats true?
now that would be nice....mmmm lobster...
There was a funny scene in "All Creatures Great and Small" about exploding cow farts
Of course Eva.
but the question is... who wants a lobster roll, sushi, or croissant from mickey d's.... can;t be as good as elsewhere
crossy loves the herriot books
i have these militant vegans living across the street and when their bus with anti-beef slogans is park in front of my house i am tempting to add it is tasty
the parent who is dragged there by their kid kje
that would NOT be nice, the lobster rolls would be awful. panera has them and they aren't good, very little lobster for a high price - so if theirs is bad i can't even imagine how mcd's would be
lol jmc
co7... Ms. Chanel + French feminine suffix
I had breakfast burritos from a McD's in Taos, NM that were wonderful - made by people who actually know how to make burritos, obviously
The ones in Maine are probably better
kids don't drag parents places ; )
ouir busses here run on bio-diesel..what does the militant bus run onn, fossilized animal remains still??
French feminine suffix without the first letter
thanks molly!!
ty molly!!
ty molly
French: originally a child's word for a hen, equivalent to
actually gasoline (and other fossil fuels) are mostly fossilized plants
ty Molly
Real lobster rolls are to die for! Real lobster chunks, covered with butter, on a toasted New England style hot dog bun. Num num.
my left column is now grey :-)
I thought they were fossilized dinosaurs

I'm with you judi.... let's go get some... along with some old bay steamed blue crabs!
I thought all politicians were fossilised dinosaurs.
Foo to the crabs, kje. Too much work. I could eat lobster rolls for breakfast, lunch and dinner, tho.
it is bichon,to they smugly hop on the bus powered by animal remains and glare at us while we at a bologna sammich
ohhhh don't talk about seafood i am going to feel so hungry
haha spoken like a person without kids!
no, mostly plants growing with the dinosaurs, bichon
you think i voluntarily went to chuckie cheese's?
mmm.alakan king crab legsss...
you have to get the jumbos, judi!!! not too much work... lots of lovely chunky white crab meat dipped in a little butter and vinegar
man, I need to get to MD this summer
*moan*
and a pail of burbling garlic butter
I think natural gas is more of a plant-based fuel. Which begs the question: do plants fart?
I have to get to work - hagd all!
Judi did you know that lobster is one of the best foods )(meats) for you. Better than beef. I vote 1 on that diet
well, they certainly emit methane when they rot, judi
oh come kje and we will go to the place on the house boat on the creek together!
as far as i know, natural gas is not more plant based
someone at mcmaster U did a thing where he charts the electrical impulses of vegetables and show show you the sine wave of a plant "screaming" as it is pulled from the gound;)
so my compost pile out back could fuel the lawn mower?
i trust he eats only dirt then
he is trying the osmosis diet now:)
okay i really must go get some work done
Good to know, herin. Although, on the down side, the lobster's nearest genetic relative is the the cockroach. [ sometimes the Science Channel is far too educational ]
I do know local farmers who make their own biodiesel, bichon, although I must confess ignorance of the details of the process
Bichon yes the gas could techniqually.
O gross Judi roaches are so nasty
we also have farmers with bio-plants suze
I guess no match lighting out back
yeah but chimps are our closest genetic relatives and we're still pretty different - language, art, cities...
fried cockroach is not tasty but it does have a nice crunch. . . sorta like eating potato chips
know what is nice? sweet and salty chocolate covered ants
ewwwww.
(looks to see if uu laughed aloud on that one)
taste a bit like bacon
and on that note, i must actually go do some WORK. ugh.
back later, all!
hahahahahahaha
tc eva
bye eva!
and sorry, jmc, had a sudden rush of exams being turned in
I like to think of the lobsters as more evolved - on the food chain anyway.
Bichon the reason I say this is decomposing matter produces methane. THere was an old tip (garbage dump / refuse dump) that was deemed safe to build houses on as it was after a certain time period. Nearly all the houses then had to be evacuated because of high methane levels
*sigh* me too. . . strategic plan here i come!
*puts on cape and leaves chog*
bye jmc!
crossy wonders what flesh and muscle is on the menu tonight? love it when the militants say it like that.."flesh and muscle"
bYE JM
we all know hot dogs must be reffered as snouts and entrails..wish they would do the research..lol
Cross it is pumpkin hour here and that sounds dirty
lol@ pumpkin hour
yes,, crossy.. a lot of misinformation out there...
Time to make an honest living. BBL. *POOF*
i have a indian friend who will not touch north american food,he has been in canada 9 years.once every 2 weeks he drives down to the city and loads up on food only produced in india.i told him he is lucky he is not up north more as him and his family would starve
even the kids drink boxes are the frooti brand made in india
does he drink the local water?
i am not sure suze
since the stuff in new deli has 3 million wiggle worms per litre,i would say he most likely caves in that regard
just curious...
nothing like aemebic dysentary(sp) to change yer view on that!
he must not be eating much in the way of fresh produce - doesn't sound too healthy
special indian cookies, made with indian flour and no eggs, all the spices imported, everything.quite facinating to watch actually
i do not know sue,but it all has to come from the indian food stores..period
(makes yuk noises)
i see tons of naan bread, lots of chick peas in oily dipping sauces, soup so spicy i cannot stand to even watch him eat it
I make the best naan bread
we have a substantial south Indian population in the greater Chicago area, so lots of markets and whatnot, but I'm pretty sure they carry local produce and meats
he takes imported milk in tetra packs and puts lemon juice in it to crdle it and makes some kind of indian yogurt out of it all
curdle
meat?? do not say meat to this family!
my god,i made a mistake once and ate a boild egg in the shop!!
heard about it for weeks
Cross that sounds like a buttermilk varrient
was different herin
but each to their own i say
indeed, one of the funniest signs I've seen in a grocery store was in one of those shops - free gallon of milk with purchase of a whole goat!
Apparently it is Indian Cottage cheese. I make soy buttermilk by a simlar method.
every time i see that nice naan bread i think how it would make a awsome beef burrito lol
personally I like Indian food a lot, but then I like all food a lot...
his mother visited from india and he had to hide the beef jerky display in the shop
sacred cow and all that
Sacred cow more like tasty cow
you kidding? over there in many parts they let them roam around coughing TB all over before they would dream of killing them
India is one place I wouldn't visit.
I would visit although preferably accompanied by one of my native friends
for me too many people
some parts are nice but the schizm is very visible there.right in downtown india.you can walk through a parking lot where people sleep at 60 cents a night and have "lived" there for ten years and across the street is a 4 star hotel
the rich can be incredibly rich and the poor ar desperatly so,making a dollar or 2 a day
the caste system is strong there, making many people born slaves in all but name
I grew up next to New York City - wouldn't want to live there but also too many people
never been to nyc
LOVE NYC
Hi Ru

fell asleep at the keyboard
BABY!!!!!! sorry.
way cool, the baby got a word!
HaHa, actually baby got the first word hhxbbbxsz, which you'll agree is a cracker, mine was poor by comparison.
At least baby won't have to go to penalty box, like me.
lol, you mean there was another besides hhxbbbxsz?
hi again all, another exam at noon :-P
thanks for the hh9 -- I would never have found it
also, hello everyone
ahh. leftovers for lunch. gotta love good homemade stuff. :)
I would rather eat leftovers than fast food any day.
agreed
The hh9 looks like a word Mork would use. Nanoo.
I also wouldn't put it past enable...
molly, these are my yummy gnocchi leftovers -- nothing to complain about here!
can I have clue for de7 please?
hh9? ::confuzzled::
look down in chat, Eva. :D
AHHHHHH
de7 is a branching part of a nerve cell, plural it for the de8
ty sue
Oh, I see Via is in the smarty pants club : P
what? what did I say?!
Probably my fault for giving a definition of a science word. *proud member of smarty pants club*
(also I am very bad at giving letter-by-letter clues)
oh... I goggled "nerve cell" and looked at a diagram
*googled
my pants *are* pretty smart, but I never took biology so...
also not smart enough to find the first co7... any help?
I figure it is more important for me to have some smarts than some pants
but without pants, where will you keep all the smarts?
You keep your smarts in your pants?
... that's a very personal question
co 7 -- the chocolate drink + good, be***r, best
hooray! anticlimactic box of tiny explosions!
ty babble
time for glamorous things like grocery shopping -- hooray!
later babbleverse *poof*
back - last set of students is taking the final
*double checking to be sure screen isn't being projected*
Have problems with en5/14 and en5/20. Any clues?
hints for bottom O?
or bottom-right E?
NM on the O. got that as soon as i asked -- always the way!
Never mind, I found them. Just going on the wrong direction.
for those who wish it i can off the fifty shade series in epub for all you naughty readers out there and stephen r donaldsond final tales of thomas covenant trilogy(book 4 out next year)

as for the 50 sdhades series, all us guys want to meet the woman who wrote it..as long as she promises to leave no bruises lol
thanks for the en5/20! (I don't have the list up yet)
i am waiting for the first in that series crossy.. so many people on waiting list!
like i say,if you have an ebook reader i can help
have to get mine up and running again. ty!

Cool. Cross is peddling Mommy Porn. : )

now what will I do for the next hour while the students are finishing their exams???
congrats sue
hi, wv!
back again for the afternoon
de5/18 - silly
de5/18 it is!
yes inde5/18 it certainly is :)
woo halfway! bbs
missing the corner C for nbt - any clues pls?
Not pros
Nope, not that one
heehee
Ms. Chanel
co4
co4/6 - chocolate dronk
ty all :)
or drink
And Ms. Chanel + almost all of French feminine
just got it :)
34 to go
stuck on de 7/36. Assume de 8/50 id the plural of that. Any clues?
Last part of a flowering bush...rhodo*******
*Credit to Cross for that clue
got it. tks
28 - carpool time. bbl
tyty,do not applaud,just throw money:)
ah yes, much better than my clue, which was an actual definition :-P
(seriously, crossy, that was a very good clue)
your definition, while accurate, had to be passed through the local science centre and 3 univerities before i got an answer brainy suze
:)
sue -- are these the last finals for the last students???
hey all
oh well - probably there are people for whom the definition of sy4/6 or sn4/5 (just to pick a couple of random words that look bizarre to me) are obvious, I'm just not one of them
hi stid!
but i love you anyways.need someone tyo keep me rooted in reality,of which on most day i only have a passing acquaintance with:)
and yes, except for one student who had a court date this morning, and one more test to come back from the accessibility center, I have all the tests and should start grading...
howdy again tidmama
I don't know the definition for the sn, but it's definitely a babblet -- on the other hand... the de 6 you clued had something to do with branching structures I assume?
stidmama*
hey again rosshair *wicked mama grin*
see? cannot even spell
rofl
you are hard,tough women:(
it was a de7, stid, branched part of a nerve cell
had a professor like that once...wait! i have one here! lol
how's life today cross? I am home with the tail end of the virus -- felt pretty good, got up and did a little bit of work, now feel a little overwhelmed so back to sitting.
ah, that's what I figured, sue.
now trying to put little teeny batteries in my pen/laser pointer
not too bad stidmama, crossyson got his hand all punctured by a cat at the shelter the yesterday but he is back at work today.other than that is is same ole, same ole
I feel like a really bad gardener... was weeding around the clematis, knew where the main stem was but grabbed a hunk of grass and pulled on a different stem. *sob* I killed one of my plants! on the other hand, that planter is now weeded and I put the metal arbor next to it so it has somewhere to climb now.
the instructions say "use finger sacks of nonmetallic tweezers" ??
oh oh cross! *neosporin, antirabies vaccine, epsom salt soaks, and a heap of bandaids*
was bad enough for a emerg visit stidmama, but all is well now
oh man... probably a bad translation... but I get the idea sue -- no plastic tweezers around?
yeah, I get the idea too, but no tweezers of any sort so I am making do
*fuss fuss* if it even thinks about beginning to look odd, you get yourself right back to the doctor!!! *worried mama look* cat bites can be nasty
I am past halfway!
(ok, I guess that was backwards - try again)
and yes, crossy, cat bites often require antibiotics - I live with a psychotic cat and have had much unfortunate experience with this
so like if you install the batteries wrong, the laser shoots out and annihilates whatever is behind you instead of what is in front, right? *wicked science look*
was my son stidmama:) but he is anitinflamitories and antibiotics,he had all shots needed for job with strays being taken care of
and 3 stiches in 4 places
was a jumbo tom that latched onto him
oh -- I see it now "crossyson" *sigh* my visual units are a little off today
poor kid was breaking up a cat fight
I like cats in general, and we would have some if I weren't allergic, but ... oh! I saw our FOX Monday night! He was looking VERY healthy and sassy. :-) Now I need to lurk with my ipad at dusk to see if I can get a pic of him.
if she does the batteries wrong,it will make holes in her chalkboard:)
ok, that didn't work either. Looks like the little connector spring inside is oddly bent.
I don't see myself ever living with a cat. I need a met who loves to walk and run in the woods
oh gee cross -- teach him about staying out of catfights...
*pet
if oddly bent sue,add a small ball of tinfoil before the watch type batteries go in
bichon -- our Lucky loves to walk and run in the woods... without me! LOL I don't go fast enough for him, so he takes off on his own when my back is turned.
what chance of that making an arc that is bad, cross?
his job stidmama, all these animals have to be healed, fixed and examined and hopefully find forever homes
well, it's touching the inside of the barrel, and I suspect it's not supposed to. Trying to put a bit of paper to insulate.
and stid, we're talking about 3 volts here, don't worry about me :-)
not much stidmama,we are talking of tiny voltages here
snap
*wink* was talking about the other kind of catfight...
Sue, I watched the latest NOVA and it was all about sunspots and solar storms and such. It was FASCINATING.
I've always thought tossing a pail of water on a cat fight was the most efficient way to break it up. ;)
hey sally
mm,machine did a hicuup..re: the cat fight the other kind,do not worry us guys would pull up a chair and get some popcorn going;))
LOL cross!
did it show the big flare from last month stidmama?? that was a wild one!
ok, I give up, will have to take it home where I have some tiny tools
nova sounds cool, stid! I have an app from the SDO (solar dynamics observatory) on my phone so can watch them in real time
brb
I think it was made earlier than that, but it showed the big one from last February. Very interesting. It takes hundreds of thousands of years for a photon to make it from the core to the surface, and then only 8 minutes from there to here. Amazing. *shakes head in wonder*
if I had an app like that, sue, I think I wouldn't get anything done at all. Having Babble available is bad enough...
well, down to 49. should take a break and see if there are any new jobs posted... back soon. *poof*
bye, stid!
Hi all, down to 30, any clues for the 2nd de 4/7
pl dy4
de 4/7 - there are seven in a week, but you need to change the vowel...
dy 4 are both about coloring...
actually there 5 dy 4/7
erns
I think you mean 5 x d4/7
3 x dy4/7 & 2 x de4/7
?
there are 5 dy4/7
ok maybe 4
3 dy 4 , 1 dy 5
Ding ding! Beth gets the prize : )
Whew. I was getting worried.
hi all
hello peri
has anyone seen the mom who wants to be the fattest woman in the world? google Susanne Eman.
takes all kinds
No thanks Peri, I can live without that visual.
It's good to have a goal ..
the pictures are truly appalling, Molly. she is engaged to a chef :O)
someone please get that oyster out of the grid
on another note, I went to the new Wegmans near me. well not that near but closish to me. it is a lovely store and the prices are comparable and even less on some tingsd
things
that is disgusting
Not Wegmans- the other.
I can't wait for our Wegman's to be built.
what is Wegmans? like Macy's ?
Super duper supermarket
I knew that, Kap. she is almost 800 pounds and wants to get to 1600 :(
No, it's a grocery store. And the one in Virginia HAS A BAR IN IT!
Wegmans is a supermarket
She will bne dead first
no bar in the one near me
I'd like a Wegmans too.
indeed Kap
63 left
and stuck
for my 15 minutes of fame, I would like to be ...
let me think ...
The one in Downingtown has beer and wine.
I know! The most obscure person in the world!
Brings a whole new joy to grocery shopping.
Wegmans was voted the best supermarket
I could use that
I want to be competitively obscure. I want the championship of obscurity.
I was at the cafe there this morning using the free wifi.
we seem to have a Stop 'N' Shop monopoly here
I'm so obscure that I am completely overshadowed by Wegmans!
In fact I have to go- one more client and I drop.
We are trying to give you your wish, Kap.
not so Kap..unless you would also like to be a super market
I got the nicest early Mother's Day present..an outdoor bonsai
First daughter sent it from Seattle
The only thing more clever than a grocery store with a bar, is the college town chain of laundromats with bars in them, called "Bar Of Soap".
nice, west
Lovely gift, Westford.
oh man Molly I wish I'd thought of that
Can you imagine what a money maker that is?
it's a darling little gardenia
I've heard the outdoor bonsai do much better than the indoor ones. Enjoy it.
I used to refer to laudromats as laundry prisons
They are prisons. And back when we were using them, we didn't have tablets and smart phones to while away the time.
Yesterday I was on the subway across from a whole row of people, and I noticed something weird...
before we got our washer/dryer for the cottage it was sooo awful
Not one of them had earbuds or wires dangling from their heads, and 4 of them were reading printed matter!
yes Kap?
I hope you took a picture
One was even reading a hard copy of Catcher in the Rye.
was it some kind of time warp?
I didn't have my cellphone camera.
It was great.
so nice
Wow, that was truly a moment.
must have been refreshing to see, Kap
west, just read the short story in your profile, funny
I thought it was great peri
made me LOL,west
bbs,hungry
what's for dinner peri?
after nearly 47 years I'm running out of ideas
We had stir fry
very good !! and so shall we
lol westford, just pick your favorite 123 and you will only see the same dish 3 times a year
last night it was so cold and rainy I made beef stew with dumplings
mmmmm
good idea crossy
my mum used to make me chicken and dumplings when i was young...
nice memory crossy
indeed, she remarried in 1976 went back to u.k and passed in 91...(crossy misses his mum) so give your mothers a hug
will do
my mom will be 96 on the 17th of this month..so grateful she's still with us
That's wonderful West. Nice to hear of someone who has a good, long run. : )
thanks Molly she's a pistol
crossy gives westfords mum a peck on the cheek
she'd love that..she's still quite a flirt
mm the de title on the house, adds the sometimes vowel to it..
deedys
oops
darn
was pushing it there anyways
last name of bogarts character in the classic the african queen is in da grid;) have not seen the movie in 20 years ,but i can still hear katherine hepburns wavering voice saying it over and over and over as she tosses his whiskey over the side:)
on closer inspection it is a phntom only..best have a drink or a tea me thinks..
mmm, suns over the yardarm..a nice wee dram or 2 is in order i think
I'm totally not seeing Allnut. Maybe I need a drink.
here ,crossy will pour you one...
Nope, no Allnut.
here..have another drink...
ok,ok.you caught me in a character mis-identification..have another drink
*holds out glass*
vodka or JD jmc?
you have to ask?????
crossy pours 3 fingers of jd for jmc
*holds out glass for more*
dont be stingy
lol,a professional i see, think ill just set up shot glasses..
:-)
it was a rough day
hey jmc. I love this cape on you!! You have taken on a huge task and I sure hope an army of people join up with you. Well done!!
i can offer you a nice frosty molson xxx for a chaser
tyty bugs . . . stiddie added the sparkles
a beer and a shot . . . this must be heaven
nothign but the finest at chez crossy
you sure aren't wasting your life by taking up space.
i have never understood why there isn't a plural hawaiian goose
but i take up a lot of space hahaha
i am sorry but sn5/10y is so a word!
the facial expression??
or the sleep sound?
before she smacked us for being stupid, my mother and/or grandmother would say, " You are such a waste of space" and now that I am that miserable, I understand what they mean with some kids.
exactly or the tone of voice
oh bugs!
*runs up to canada with lavender*
we did a thing in class where we asked the kids to think of a way they could make the world a better place. Most of the kids came up with fantastic ideas and I was so impressed by their passion
you are/were a teacher bugsaw,so you should not feel miserable or a waste of space,a teacher i can no longer remember once gave me the greatest gift of my life and it was free
but a few of them refused to participate and took 0 for the mark because they didn't care about anyone else but themselves. It was amazing and saddened me greatly
oh but think about what made them that way. . .their parents must be so depressed!
Today I got to go to a showcase for all the kids from 5 schools who took on the project and it was such a great day for me! I believe in people again
i was a tad slow in the younger grades and this teacher took the time and the patience to teach little crossy to read,a priceless gift
yaa for bugsaw!!
today my sister was talking about her low self-esteem and i said. . . and how did our parents do anything for our self-esteem
yay bugs
i am glad for you crossy. . . i was lucky enough to be the youngest of 5 avid readers so learned to read at 3 or 4 (depending on who's story you believe)
You both get my point. I became an EA to be the cure to the kind of upbringing I had. I never met a kid I could not work with until this year and I think I am just worn out
oh bugs {{{bugs}}} hang in there they need you
*gladly walks to the pb*
thanks jmc. they only need me for 30 more working days.
now there is a interesting thought..suppose you time traveled back to just as you were fighting to learn to read, but know what you know now,all the books you have read, all the books you have loved and all the books yet to be read..there you are but you are back before you could read again..what would you pay to have it restored to you?? what intrisic value would it then have,if not freely taught to you long ago?
then you retire??
Bugs, I am sure you made a difference in a lot of young lives. Try to keep your focus there.
i would kill to be able to read
*carefully sets cape aside*
yup. i am so looking forward to it. My husband is 8 years older than I am and I want to have happy memories with him too
clue for the 8 please and the 7s?
i know that a year before my mother died a former student found my sister on fb and asked about her
about my mother that it
teachers mean so much they should be billionaires
my mother was not a very good mother but she was a fabulous teacher (and i am the only person who had both experiences with her)
It is a true testament to those who teach that they will do it for the crap salaries they are given.
she did so much good as a teacher i forgave her for being a less than wonderful mother
I want to leave now before I say something horrible to a kid like my mother did. I have so many good memories of working with kids that no one else had time for. WW-e are all better people for the time we spent together.
you would never do that bugs. . .tempting though it might be
And that, is a great way to go out Bugs. Good for you.
(being a parent really helped me see how people could abuse their kids. . .but i never did)
I second that jmc. I loved my kids so much but some days were harder than others.
if i started a society teachers would get top dollar. then the best would stay. often they leave.
very true mkg and EAs make under a third of what a teacher gets
what is an ea?
co seven clue splesae. there are two of them. anyone have htem?
Educational Assistant in Canada. I work with the kids with special learning difficulties. They can learn just in a different way.

We have IEPs in American Special Ed.
hi peri!
hi there jmc!
*hic*
mkg, I have the co 7 that means accept or acceptance -- not sure if it's first or second
it's all crossy's fault
hi red!
de 7 clue please.
and the de 8 after it must be plural.
and now it is time for crossy,s quote of the day!!!
There are two ways of constructing a software design. One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies and the other is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies. - Charles Anthony Richard Hoare
mkg, you know those rhodo- - - - - - - flowers?
*takes a shot and waits*
it,s always my fault jmc
crosshair, that guy's name is more complicated than need be.
lol
ty red. got it.
off to work. back later. must show a house now.
*hic8
er *hic*
bye mkg
ok jmc, time to put a bit of food on top of all that jack daniles...
daniels
but why you only have 15 grandkids with 11 kids. . . .
i had a supper of steam asparagus
the other 14 kids decided to travel first!!
. . . but i probably ne** something else
<===in pain thinking about 11 kids
no wonder you are tipsy jmc, thats like eating canned steam
it was fresh asparagus
i have one to make you cringe jmc,and i verified it.my gramma was a typical welsh woman 4 foot 8 and fiesty asll all heck..my da was born 14 pounds 1 oz!! and set a record for the day
a record for sure. . .my boy was 12 pounds and people were amazed!
That hurts me and mine were 10 & 11 lbs each. Thank you Lord for c-sections.
amen mag!
my poor gammy must of had a c-section scar down to her knees!!
cute doggy pic!
my ex father in law was born in a dirt floor shack in rural GA with no doctor-- 13 lbs. Ouch!
ouch indeed
Aw thanks! That's my Blossom
*Hopes Soodle doesn't show up and start talking about how asparagus makes your pee stink*
last word is first to4 and don't see it. hope it is not a fish
ouch! i had a hard enough time with the 12 lbs
Grandma Bertha was a hearty German gal
i promise not to pee on soodle
Mag, I will see your 11 pound c-section and raise you an 11 pound, non c-section.
You will slap yourself when you find it peri
bag and kids is what i have peri
iy
Ow Molly!
just gave myself a big slap, feeling really stoopid. thanks
peri, it's a type of handbag
i trump with a 12 lb c-section
fireworks
the last time i saw grammy was in 1979 when she came to visit, was funny as heck to see her grab the kitchen chair,st it beside my dad, stand on it and proceed to twist his ear lobe for giving her back talk
whoo hooo peri!
:) bye for now
I fold
tc peri
haha
I was in labor with that one for 15 hours. I had never been so glad to see a woman coming to stick a needle in my spine
bye peri
Mine were 9, 10 and 11 pounds, no c-sections and only one epidural.
haha mag i was in labor 3 days and i completely understand!
bye peri!
well that is amazing molls
dang i am out of white wine. . . .
Someone did not pre-think their n4s
BBL- new stepchildren spend the night at mky house for the first time this weekend. Must clean
i pre-thunk i am just too broke to buy enough
3 days??!!! my mrs water broke at 9 pm,got her to emerg by 9:30(she ruined my car seats) registered by 9;45 hooked up to the machines by 10 pm,walk and a bath by 11 pm and into labour 10 minutes later and spit the kid out 15 min after that
oh let them think you are a slob mag! then they have something to tell mom
easy for you to say crossy
they tell her too much already jmc. ugh. at least teen girl does
lol
let her . . .it makes her feel in control
after the tantrum she threw at my wedding she's lucky I'm letting her enter my house
I can beat that crossy. 66 minutes
cut the cord, peeled off the caul and whammo! instant son! lol
haha poor thing! (and poor mag!)
i think i still win the longest time
yeah, it made for not such a great end to my wedding. sigh
no i would guess not. . . {{{mag}}}
ah well. such is life. there is a toilet brush calling my name. hugs all!
but remember it all sucks for her and she has no control what her parents do
*worries about a person who listens to toilet brushes*
*wonders about someone who thinks teenagers will notice if a toilet is clean or not*
*Thinks the little demon who threw a tantrum at Mags wedding should have to use a dirty bathroom*
hahahaha
we are an unforgiving crowd!
Hey, I carefully avoided the "she ruined my car seats" comment.
haha well done molls
I ruined my own car seats but husband had to drive. I could hardly breathe with a labour that fast lol
i was bored to death until the last 5 hours
nothing like 10cm dialated to make things interesting eh ladies??? lol
after 15 years of meditating with ey** closed the midwife wanted me to focus on some object with my ey** open because that is what she was taught
Seriously? Someone was dumb enough to tell a woman in labor how to meditate? Oy
my mrs focused on me..and how i was standing there not in pain..and how wonderfull it would be to stick a knife in my heart at the next contection
well she was taught the Lamaze method of breathing with ey** focusing on an object
contraction
i was somewhat annoyed when hubby took a nap
Lamaze suggests a focal point. It can be one inside your head. She was a goon.
indeed molls
i did bill cosby jokes and how the doctor was hunched on his stool, waiting to catch the kid like it was a football
i think i would have kicked you crossy
she broke my finger on the next hand squeeze
wtg elegant!
then i gave her hand to a nurse nearbye
Oh, I thought that was the part where she stands up in the stirrups and informs everyone in the delivery room that your parents were not married.
lol
<--Knows that whole Cosby childbirth routine by heart
okay must go be productive one more time today. . . bbl

Not too badly. Thanks for asking. And you?
I am doing pretty well -- getting over a rather nasty virus, so have taken it easy today. It has been sunny for several days in a row, and that is lovely.
I'm glad you're feeling better....the sunny days helped too.
Yes, they help a LOT for me! I was able to sit on the back porch with my dog for a little bit this afternoon, which is unusual. He doesn't often sit... :-)

I used clove oil for my boys, too -- worked wonders and I didn't worry about chemicals the way the other stuff had. And I was nursing, which also made it better somehow
There is kinda now because of EDIM but not of kids.
I guess today he was fussing, and she picked up the bottle of the oil and he smiled.
