got a really low offer on our house... we countered, but they might not be able (or willing) to match "our" low...
cable is trying to come back....going in and out
usually takes them awhile to get everything up and going properly
had just started putting words in here...and a few didn't go..so thought it was this site....then dvr program i was watching froze....so tried resetting everything and couldn't get anything to go...so picked up the phone to call the cable company and that was dead too.....
bet that was a shock. Usu when I don't have cable, my internet is out, too; you are / were lucky.
internet was out...for over an hour....started listening to music and playing a non-internet game on comp.
that's usu what I do, too... wear out my solitaire games lol
glad power was still on...storms came thru a few hours ago...70 mph winds and hail..marble size here...but tennis ball size 2 miles from here
unreal to have hail that large this time of year... any damage or injuries?
fireworks
few accidents...was driving home around 6pm...and going thru town..hail was about size of nickels where i was but was chasing me...i'd outrun it but then hit a red light and it would catch me...got home before the big stuff hit right where i was driving a few minutes before
nj volley
ty; good you made it home, so you didn't end up with dents in your vehicle
lot of people on freeway like to hide under bridges...causes accidents sometimes
here, too, especially in the winter during blizzards... sheeting ra4 same issue
waiting to see what happens here in the winter...we didn't have much of one this year..only about 6 inches of snow all season...bet the drivers do not know how to drive in it here
if I remember correctly, they don't have great road equipment either
where do you live, dart?
where do you live, dart?
sorry about the double question -- our internet connection must have burped.
you are right volley.....middle of U.S. arb..kansas
Amazing how many cities/districts do not have proper road equipment for their weather. Including, I might add, Jerusalem, which when it snows every 2-3 years is totally grid-locked
I bet, and I had no clue you ever had snow
coming from a city/state that has a harsh winter..and people know how to live and exist in it...might be interesting here if we get a big snow
You'll have to give them some tips :)
Sure. Jerudalem, Safed and a few other high points get some snow occassionally. The Golan Heights and Mt. Hermon (on the border with Jordan, Levbanon and Syria, is snow capped in the winter and even has some skiing.
if we get 2 inches of snow the whole of England grinds to a halt - they are much better in scotland
i'll be staying off the roads...unless i have to.....(what a change from before where i was a "necessary" employee)
Sounds beautiful ARB.
Interesting, Katie.
It is -- if only the political scenery were more beautiful.
LOL, dart... you'll be the man of leisure, looking out your window, listening to the weatherman... good change, I would imagine.
true
is a good change...still have to shovel though
I'm getting a little stressed about the weather in the states not looking too good for next week
you visiting katie?
yes dart, first time ever but it seems an old tropical storm is coming at the same time *sigh*
where are you going, Katie?
we start in New York, then: Niagara, Lake Erie, Parkersburg WV, Nashville back to Parkersburg then home
how wonderful. We adored Niagara and Lake Erie...
we are so looking forward to it all7
nice itinerary.
it will be busy as my hubby has family in parkersburg but so excited for it as well
if you are worried about Beryl...should be out to sea in a day or two
well, I need to get going here. Enjoy the rest of the grid. Have a great trip, Katie, if I don't see you before you leave.
I hope so there is a lot of rain forecast on some of the weather sites, I'm just hoping they have got it wrong
nite volley...ruru is either lurking still or forgot to log off lol
Thanks volley :) have a great day
You, too. Bye all! Poofing with hugs!!

The first is a celebration barbecue on Saturday 30 June - you'll hear more about this on Sunday. This is an event for the whole church. We will be making a charge to cover meat and bread but I was wondering if the catering team would take care of the salads and desserts. The second is the Wilnecote Fun Day at the high school on Sunday 12 August. The church is going to run a small refreshments area and I'm looking for people to help out to serve teas and coffees and also to supply cakes.
this was the only email I got from her Mum, the other one might be about alpha. Do you want to forward it to me and see if I can do it.
thanks a million Katie
I'm not doing the fun day but will make cakes for it. Will do salad for the 30th
Sorry to everyone else for loading up chog - church catering team :)

Hi everyone...
Hi Flask1!!!
Hi Flask :)
((Flask)) hello, two days in a row!!!
hi Flask
whew! just checked on new kitty.we have a temp set up for him in the bathroom while the other 2 cats are adjusting to him,his own comfy bed and food and water and a personal litter box and where did i just see him?? passed out on his back on top of the toilet seat with his head lolling over the side!
I know Mom.....:)
OMG! Take a picture!
hope no one has to use the toilet
indeed
sec,i have a vid clip of him i will post in my FB..1 sec...
ok,it is up
think that is cute? he still had 2 litter mates at the shelter,so when we brought him home we had to set him up with a teddy bear to sleep with or he would cry
so he sleeps with a teddy
OMG! I want the gray one!
oh Crossy, that is making my heart melt
I love at then end when he is clearly torn between playing and lounging!

Bye Mom! Have a great day! {[hugs}}
bye bye (((Car))) thanks, I will. You too
im doing ok. ready for the weekend, though! new job, even though im not even doing it full-time yet, is exhausting!
Did you get that promotion?
C'mon weekend.....
pretty much, yes! the gal hasnt full left yet (shes doing half-time here + half-time at her new gig through the end of next week) so im pretty much doing the job the majority of the time + they have put in requests to move me to my new office + get me a blackberry + whatnot. but i STILL havent heard what my new salary will be...
$1,000,000,000
Congrats! It's always fun to start a new job (somewhat nerve-wracking, too), but a change of pace is always good for the brain. Hope you get a nice raise.
i wish YOU were making that call, then, car!
ok kitten clip, is up on my wall now for those who wish to see amos and cha-cha battling it out
the new position is definitely a lot more work and stress than the old one, but im hoping things calm down a bit once it becomes more second-nature to me. i know the team wasnt thrilled with the gal who is leaving... she has a tendency to be self-centered and has the emotional stability of a roller-coaster. i think im much more even-keeled and i know the customer comes first and i want my team to shine, not me.
Good for you, Eva. Sounds like a good attitude. My last promotion was really scary for me, but in no time I was feeling comfortable and was so glad I put in for it. It was much better money and I ended up with a better pension because of it.
And now I must go....I wish you all a GREAT day! {{hugs}} to all!
Same to you, car.
im scared poop-less of change in general. i never feel comfortable with it. but i know its necessary, and i KNOW the heftier paycheck will help out at home. i have worked here for over 11 years, and i have history on the team i will be managing, so its not like i will be starting from zero. i just hope the customers all remember that i havent been managing forever...heh
Well, good luck, Eva. It sounds like you have the right attitude and I think you will do fine! Bye everyone, gotta go get some packing done for the camping trip. Have a great weekend.
phantom: sangria
Eva, congrats on the promotion and good luck.

so yesterday i had to post these fliers encouraging us to reduce energy use. it said yale's energy use = 95% of what greenland uses. yikes. but then they suggest we turn off our computers when we leave - but they back up at night and if we turn them off, they won't. they suggest we adjust our heat a few degrees - but the heat and cooling in our building is so poorly done that if we try to mess with it it can get waaaay off.
sigh.
I read something about the carbon footprint of the average american household pet. Egad.
Ah, the road to hell is paved with good intentions, Hurshy. Besides, the population of Greenland is about 45 (not counting the wildlife), so Yale shouldn't feel so bad.
then i thought, i should point out to the sustainability office, who made these fliers, the thing about the backup, which would apply to everyone, not just my dept. but their website is down so i don't know how to contact them.
lol!

Yes, and I'm sure we are all up on our African tree varieties. *Sigh*
i just used morewords:) the african safari is not in the budget this year
I give up. Does anybody know about jasmine plants? I have a bush in my garden with white, four-petalled flowers that smell like it, but it doesn't resemble anything in google
Sorry Ruby, too exotic for me.
this is the first year I even noticed it, as it's hidden in other shrubbery
and the scent is magnifique
Henceforth known as "that lovely scented shrubbery" : D
is it a hedge-like shrub? not that I know its name, but there's a boxwood variety with small white flowers and a really heavenly scent
and I just ate a flower; it even tastes good
Molly, also an african spear
maybe that's it, I'll google boxwood and see
Oh thank you mklein. How would I have slept tonight not knowing that? : )
if I don't appear tomorrow, you can look it up under poisonous plants
I didn't know it was a tree, just a spear.
Mklein, that baby bunny in your profile picture is sooooo cute.
ahh,the wonderous things we learn in babble:)
good night everybody
My big dog found him in the back yard and didnt know what to do with it, so I tried to rescue it. Dont know if it worked.

howdy neil
hi neil
Hey medusa. :)
thanx Sugrra.....:)
oh and for those who i told about the toothpick stuck deep in my foot? if it happens to you and you cannot get it with a needle or other digging device,DO NOT WAIT! get a Dr to excise it.i waited 3 days and by the time she opened my foot up there was swelling the size of a golf ball on the bottom of my foot and my body had tried to break down the toothpick and it was all just massive infection.now i have a hole in the bottom my my foot,am packing and soaking it daily and have a scrip of keflex tablets that are big enough to choke a horse.hehe..now i can sterilize the toilet bowl just by having a pee..:/
any clue for the la7 ?
OMG crossy. :( That sounds horrible.
my own fault neil
And yeah. I'd go to an ER for something like that.
ahem..and what exactly did you think would happen if the thing stayed in your foot?
i was lucky, was able to go to the walk in clinic and she did it right there
yes hego...crossy hangs his head
It's called gangrene when you do that.
in USA we always go to the ER, our insurance pays for that.
well, mkleain, was never to that point.was not about to let my foot go green and start rotting off
anyway, hope you feel better.
here hego,we all pay for med care with taxes,so it is our choiuce,er or the clinic whichever is not too busy that day
much batter
better
Good for you - I know someone who did exactly that. He wanted to wait til his insurance would pay for it.
pros and cons for both systems.
Oh my MK
ours is not perfect, but EVERYONE is covered working or no,extra insurance or no
hahahahaha crossy. hope it gets better soon. on the bright side it sounds like you have the cleanest toilet around right now
cause everyone will need it at some point
It's true. The doctor said if he had waited one more day he might have died.
lol,medusa,that keflex is something
my mate got a cut on the bottom of his foot and it got infected. he is diabetic and now has 1 and a half legs from it. had to have the leg amputated just below the knee
a very guy thing to do MK
mklein..that is EXACTLY why we do it the way we do,promp care without waiting for insurance companies
la 7 - tasty Italian dish
that ios nasty indeed medusa
You are preaching to the choir as far as I am concerned
nogs
oops
sorry mklein..just bugs me.i have a friend in the states who cannot afford fat health insurances and the work does not pay for it,so when anything goes wrong with him,it has to become a critical thing before he can be seen
i do not understand how the free clinic work down there but in PA,it seems you must be on deaths door
I agree. Your method is better. My son lives in England and health care is one of his favorite things there.
we love our privincial health car plan and willingly pay at tax time with everyone else
the healthcare here is not too bad. some hospitals are bad though
and yes it is far from perfect
but in the last 2 weeks,i have had a ct scan, mrs has had ultrasound, blood work and seen a specialist and i have had one dr appt all with a single heath card for the province
and it matters not if i am working or no
could someone clue me for the la7/36...not the italian food

yeah indeed. Biggish and not very smooth. Must. Work. Harder.
lol molly, yesterday i got pinned to the wall because my clue was not a pin point rendition of the dictionary description..heck i like to make people think so i give hints trhat can lead to the word, not just spell it out
or/8 ???
if i give the websters description i may as well just type it in the chog
people should be happy with the clues they get, and not be put down because they have a meaning wrong or anything else. And I like the think-clues the best of all, crossy.
tyvm sprite
did i ever tell you that you are my favorite?
crossy's in the PB , by the way :-) ..... and your kitty is pretty !!
Okay people, that was no put down to Amelu's clue. Just a mention of what the word means. Like I said, this is a tough room today.
ahem..... i like crossy's clues ... need one now
tyvm diane,i was finally able to post them on my fb wall via my tablet
actually you all can just jump right in.. or /8 ??
it happened to me a couple of times too, crossy :) For instance when there was 'tee' in a word and I clued it with a golf-thingy, I was told off because it meant something else... pfff. A clue is no definition, it is something to nudge the brain in the right direction :)

dussssssst in the winnnnnd
hiya bogster, indeedydeed
hi
I like cryptic clues and sometimes I love my own clue and then it is way too cryptic, lol. Bad clue, but fun anyway.
An instructor told my class years ago to not hesitate to ask a question, because if you thought of it, there was probably someone else in the room that wondered the same... so that's how I approach clues... spit out the first thing I think of, LOL!
the new kitty is playing spider solitaire with the mrs as she moves a card,he follows it with his paw on the screen
bogster, pretty dragon!
that is a great advice, amelu :)
awwww crossy that is so sweet!
there are no stupid questions, only stupid people... errrr..... answers!
i love ALL clues and those who do
for those who need kitty love, there are 2 vid clips and 3 pics on my fb wall
I agree, smom. Clues are so very helpful. Crossy, are we friends on fb?

yessss we are! Good, I love kitty love.
his mane is amo and the grey one is his litter mate cha-cha
name
omg that is amazing... your Amos looks exactly like my cat... who died a couple of years ago. Exactly.
And again Amelu, I did not mean to diss your clue. But all the barbed comments directed my way were successfully lobbed.
i find black cats have the best peronality
now you just need an "Andy", crossy
ooh am I slow today! I just figured out the la8/9 from a "throat" clue that was given this morning! Guess it had to percolate in my brain a while, lol.. hi gang, am babbling on and off.. a new furnace is being installed today, hallelujah.. so the house is hopping
not to worry amelu, love your clues as well
there was an andy in that litter but he went a week before
same looks, same eyes, same way of moving... only my cat had a bad back due to being mistreated as a kitten.
:((
did not see any barbed comments
wtg Aloy! Nice to see you :)
how about pointed ones?
i saw a comment with squishy sides..:)
horned or thorned perhaps?
Molly, I know you only meant it as a clarifier, no offense taken from this side of the keyboard, LOL! ;o) Let me know if I can restring your raquet next time I'm in the PB.
howdy sprite, and congrats on the new kitty, crossy
anal
no comments at all, actually, lol... perhaps I missed some. The only clues I would comment on are the spelling out clues... where you get the whole word spelled out.

I couldn't think of a word ending in those 4 letters....guess I was never good at keeping one :-)
... a lucky one ... I never think of the ones where you are using just part of the word

nahhhhh.... it would still have worked :-)

I'm going to just work until something else comes along to amuse me.

hi stid
Hi jen. Just playing after dong lots of sorting and filing of papers.
actually up to 77 here, but no way I'm going to hit halfway before having to consult a list.
Using a list is not all that bad.
I know, it's just more time-consuming, and I should be doing something else!
Do you have Expert Hokie?
Morning everyone
like, in the rankings or did I pay?
It must be nice to just wake up feeling refreshed lynxxx
neither of those. Lickety wrote some software which is available to us for the asking. A lovely program that combines his clue list and Babble...makes using his list v ery very fast. You should ask MrPresident for it via email
Are you OK Bichon? or have you just been looking at this grid too long?
it seems like forever. Even with the list
Oh, I do use the Lickety list whenever available, and I think I do recall what you are talking about being in a beta stage back when I quit playing a few years ago, but no, I don't have it.
I have just listed - still 120 to go. Didn't seem like such a hard grid until this point
Do email Mrpresident Hokie...you will LOVE it
I'm at the same point lynxxx
Ok, thanks for the tip. I think for now I'm going to have to leave with 104, nbt, and go cook supper! Hope to bbl. Bye, y'all!
bye Hokie
ooh we could have used Hokie as a clue for the an6.24, type of fluffy bunny

hello
sorry - didn't even notice I did that
oh for goodness sake! that's one of those fish that I missed. Trout me!
mmm..bacon pergies for tonight topped with rich sour cream, fresh chopped chives and hickory smoked maple kissed bacon bits
don't know what pergies are but if you swapped them for baked potatos, I'll be over for dinner
How long does it take for hickory smoke to kiss bacon bits? Probably needs to be started the day before use.

I got home in time to watch the National Scripps Speling Bee. the only two words I knew were vertvier and arrondissment.
one of the spellers was eliminated because he could not spell vetvier.
vetvier is the correct spelling
I don't know that word
arrondissment I do
NOW I know who wolfgang puck is... I had never looked him up, but I love his "jamaica me crazy" coffee blend for my Keurig machine !!!
the german words were the worst
Peri, how did the spelling bee words compare to what we complain about in Enable?
And good evening all.
they were much worse in the spelling bee
I don't know how they managed to spell the words
they all seemed pretty calm too

I wanted to stop at 63, but I didn't... and now I can't really justify quitting, can I?
Jes, some of us started this puzzle when we were supposed to be working this morning.
then again, I like the number 13... maybe I should sleep
And now, time to play, find that Beatle.

viajes, you can stop when you want. There is no requirement to finish (says the babbler who said she was going to sleep about two hours ago).

i brought home another diabetic cat yesterday stid.
no one knows the answer to my question?
um.... "good" for you jes? what makes cats diabetic? I never hear of diabetic dogs
tyra!
we have a winner!!!
oh! LOL I was sooooo confused peri!
usually being fat is a big predisposing factor.
we see diabetic dogs also, but cats are more common.
Fake Not-in-the-Grid Word of the day is... I'm not even going to clue it. It's assy.
so i've now got 2 old, orange, diabetics.
2nd la7/36 pls
How could someone be "assy"? Hopefully everyone has an ass... or they couldn't sit to babble. lol

YAY peri!
hey flosey
7 left here.
yeah, there are other factors, of course. but diet is a big one. and dogs are always insulin-dependent, but cats can sometimes be managed with diet and oral meds
yay peri!
both my boys are on insulin though.
hi again stid
hiya stid!
hey firefly!!! (((((((many many hugs)))))))) how are you?
gosh, I wonder if my cat is diabetic? She is certainly fat!
insulin for a cat sounds expensive, jes
need a clue for so6 and 7 please?
hey sue. I read that in only 4 x 10^9 years Andromeda will crash into us!
oh, major fatigue all the time, but the headaches have mostly disappeared. still fighting insurance, and headed to Seattle at the end of June for my first follow up angiogram
if she starts drinking more, urinating more, eating more, or losing weight, sue, get her checked asap. meantime, try to get some weight off of her.
help with LA 5/10 (last one) please

wtg wht
insulin isn't cheap, but cats don't take much. 1 unit twice daily for each.
yay wht!
YAY wht!
Coffee drink wv.
glad the headaches are almost gone, sorry about the insurance hassle.
Losing weight she definitely is not doing. I have one large fat cat and one small skinny cat; I suppose I might have to separate them again so the fat one doesn't eat all the food.
thx stid ;)
and yay wht!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Sue.
good luck with the insurance companies, firefly - what a pain they can be!!!
hi, neil!
And firefly, wht, etc.
probably, sue. feeding measured meals is usually the only way to make sure they are eating appropriate amounts
teach: la5 = coffee drink
hi Neil
Good night all, and happy babbling.
Hi flosey.
sweet dreams wht
second ga7?
negativeneil - hi! i love typing out your handle
Well "Neil" is fine, firefly. Much easier. ;)
nope, i prefer the whole enchilada :P
I like to call him iven
*sigh* the skinny one hates the fat one, and runs away whenever she is around. Then the fat one eats all the food. (Never mind the dog, of course...)
Well I don't. But my first name was taken.
Huh viajes? Never seen you do that before. And why?
thnx viajes
not really. just being goofy by picking random letters from your name.
Oh, ok. :P
negat -iven -- eil
definitely meal feed then. in separate rooms if possible. and don't let the dog get the cat food-- you'll end up with a REALLY fat dog
negativeneil is so catchy though
cat food has about 4 -5 times the calorie density of dog food.
Yeah. It's the online handle I've used for a few years now... website, Twitter, blogs, etc. But I prefer to be called by just my own name. ;)
no, the cat food is high enough that the dog doesn't get it. We'll have to rethink the cat feeding issue, though.
well, i guess i'll have to respect that...
you can also make a box with an opening small enough for the small cat but too small for the large cat, that way the little one can get in and eat
that's a good idea! I'll have to try that.
Well doesn't really matter. But I figure my name is easier to type.
Really liking Generationals... listening to them.
firefly -- how is your yard? I remember you built a new house, were you able to get some flowers and trees in before you got sick?
stid - oh yes, last year! this year we started our garden, lots of veggies, fruits, and we also got a calf for beef ;)
I'm also working on my very own corner in the "front" (it's not a yard, just a space carved out of a large driveway area) with beautiful rock collection art and then some pretty flowers (perennials)
I wonder if we made a box small enough for Tom to get into but too small for me to get into if that strategy would work... *thinking* today I actually FIT into my best pair of dress pants for the first time in months (I don't diet, it's a winter/summer thing).
That's marvelous, firefly! So exciting. I have pics of our veggie garden (first time in about four years) up at my blog. It's not huge, but it's so satisfying to have things growing again!
LOL @stid's theory! congrats on the pants - mine's more of a pregnancy/kids thing, and it's about time I start excercising - as soon as my head is better
I have six left but I am sleepy and no one seems to be cluing... zzzzzz
i can't wait for the kids to be able to forage the garden for snacks ;)
I have 130 left, via, so probably wouldn't be much help
I have garden envy. A drawback to apartment living. Maybe I'll have to put planters on the balcony.
and I like stid's idea too :-)
what kind of perennials? I have heather under a 12-year old cedar, dahlias, a few roses, and daffodils that manage to keep coming back. Oh, and glads! I was afraid they had all disappeared, but most of them are up again. The irises have leaves but no buds (yet -- she said hopefully)
definitely neil! it can be done ;)
Yep. Just can't grow a lot out there... but herbs anyway. And who knows what else? [no, not weed] :P
planters and pots are wonderful neil -- invest in those bulb things that hold water and dispense it as needed via wicking... otherwise a single hot day can do your plants in *said with experience*
i have irises in the back, dug up from my mom's yard, and they actually bloomed after transplanting! in the front, more or less ground cover stuff, like phlox, and some carpet flower things, whatever seeds I have lying around LOL
the nice thing about pots is you can tailor the soil specifically to each plant. So even though I have a 30x30 foot veggie garden the tomatoes are going in three HUGE pots, and many of my bulbs and tender perennials are also in pots.
Neil, I have grown tomatoes, hot peppers, and eggplant in pots on an apartment porch, all were fine.
i think there are tomatoes that can be done in pots, especially little grape kinds maybe
strawberries grow in pots, right?
you garden the same way I do, firefly! I have LOTS of plants gifted from friends when we moved in, a couple of precious plants from my mother in law's childhood home, and some trees my grandmothers and great aunt sent money to buy.
i've got some herbs started, but not up yet in a nice big planter on the patio - hubby and kiddos made it for me for mother's day
ALL kinds of tomatoes grow well in pots. strawberries CAN grow in pots, but they really need diligent watering when it gets warm *experienced look again*
mmm, good watering info there
I have success with thyme, marjoram, rosemary (woody herbs) but less success with basil and parsley for some reason.
stid - i got my raspberries from my mom, and blackcaps from my mother in law ;)
Upsidedown hanging tomato planters
i hope to get boysenberries from my mom next year
i'm doing cilantro, parsley, and mint
and remember that fruit want consistent water... keep the soil moist but not soggy and never dry. Otherwise the fruit either don't develop well or drop off entirely. Trees are usually okay once they are established, but berries and leafy veggies are picky.
mmmm. cilantro. Keep the mint in pots... it WILL take over and send runners out into any adjacent soils. I will NEVER get rid of the chocolate mint (which I am now allergic to) in my lawn. Unless I dig the whole lawn and burn it. *sigh*
oh my! is spearmint different?
I used to have raspberries, but my neighbor accidentally falled some trees on them. Will replant, hopefully in the autumn.
nope. spearmint will spread. MINT spreads. end of story. *knowing nod* it creeps over, under and around traditional barriers like metal, brick, wood or open space. It's sneaky... but at least it smells nice!
In Virginia, my parents planted peppermint near the garbage cans so that area smelled better. A brilliant plan. LARGE stretches of pavement and houses in the way do seem to slow down its spread (somewhat)
i figured the kiddos would like to eat it - they munch the chives out in the flower beds, so this might freshen their breath after! LOL
it's a tall rectangular planter, on the patio, but i'll keep an eye on the stuff and keep it trimmed UP
Yeah I bet stidmama. And we get some fierce heat here in summer. Not a lot of direct sun though... shaded by trees on the street.
Tomatoes would be good to grow... we eat a lot of them. Wonder if bell peppers would do well in pots?
this grid is just not my friend today - i thought with the nearly 300 words it'd be fun, but it kind of isn't
any kind of peppers should do fine, neil
quitting with 116 left. gonna go read with bruce. laters all.
I'd like to grow them because they can be pricey.
Unless you go to farmer's markets.
mmm, fresh bell peppers are the BEST - my kids eat them like apples straight off the plant. i could see them in a pot...need a little fertilizer, lots of water
night jesdraggon
in the planter the mint should be okay, but watch for the stolons to show up nearby. They are easy to pull in soil that doesn't get walked on.
sweet dreams jes
the plants don't take up a ton of space either
neil, check territorial seeds for peppers, they have good advice on planting. I am thinking some of the smaller peppers might do really well in pots
well, the patio has a border of lava rock (for drainage from the roof) and then the lawn...
I bet your home is lovely firefly. So far, we still have the wood stoops that came with the house. And I have plans/dreams for little porches and sitting areas...
we made the roof overhang to cover the patio, so the entire back side of the house is covered patio - only thing is we're right above the wildlife refuge pond, which means mosquitoes...we don't sit on the patio past dusk :( lots of wasps during the day, so it can be tricky out there
Thanks stid and firefly. Will have to look into that.
And Sue of course. :)
i'm overtired - must go rest now. nice chatting with you stid, and neil too :)
night, firefly!
night sue :)
Good night firefly. Take care.
sweet dreams firefly! Be well.
thanks neil, you too
night stiddy - i'll try to be on more. glad to see you're here again

well I am having some memory problems so do want to avoid that - one of my cousins has alz. and it's very sad - she's back in Ontario so don't see her but talk to her daughter
my grandma had it. ryan's grandma had it as well. and my great uncle and great aunt as well... so its scary

you might enjoy it cos, it is fun - but for me frustrating when I can't think fast enough
bless you, that is very thoughtful

I agree, and it's so hard on the family
its harder on the fmaily i think
I do wonder what does go through their minds, or are they just happy?
my brother said my grandma was always making new friends every day
they would eat play games and then go to bed then wake up and introduce themselves again
yes, I guess they would
ah, so hard on the hubby/wife
ryan's grandfather never visited his grandmother... too hard
perhaps harder for a man to deal with it, women usually the nurturers
although I guess that is changing too
just in time for more male bashing
