my doctor took me off oxy for another Rx :(
tried to come off them too quickly. so took a small step back, will start again in a weeks time.

poor cos :( I changed to another med myself. For chronic use, oxycodone isn't good. Too addictive and too much side effects.
sprite, i didn't realise the pain was all that bad. but i was sitting shivering like i had a really high temp. ( no i didn't ) my sis-in-law was here and knew what was happening to me.

i hear, you, sprite. had a good talk to my physio as well. he also recommends to wait another week. after all, i came home on 60mgs SR oxycodone/day, and i am now on 20mgs/day.

i hear you sprite. trying to find non-narcotic substitutes is very difficult. i am allowed to work while taking panadeine forte, but not a single dose of endone. c'mon, give me a break. on panadeine forte i go highg as a kite. lol

yeah true. There is no real logic there. And if you add the fact that different people react differently to meds... all we can do is keep taking stock of our own situation and talk with our docs and specialists.

it's not a matter of energy, jill -- the temperatures are soaring into the 90's right now, so the painting must be done early morning or late evening. It hasn't been cooling down much until about midnight though.

Just read your profile, ivesy -- so sorry. it makes me appreciate how lucky we were to raise our kids in smaller centres where the drugs were there, but not prevalent and the schools drilled "say no"
in my teens and early 20,s i had a drug problem as well and send a prayer for you and your son ivesy.i moved up here from the city areas to get myself away from it all and to raise my family in an area were it is not so prevelant as well

many of you know that my mrs has a degenerative eye disease,which she is fighting well,but we have the c.n.i.b in do training on canes lifestyle changes and things to make your life easier.did you know that if you take 2 identical coffee cups and an identical amount of water make tea in one and coffee in another,where your stir them there is a subtle difference in the sound the spoon makes when it hits the side of the cup?

I plan to leave Illinois Monday afternoon, August 13 (I want to be there for our friend Dennis's appointment with the oncologist at 11:15). Jenny Paterson - would you like a visitor that evening? I'll be leaving Rockford probably around 1, so would be in Minneapolis around 7 - we could have dinner, or coffee, or something? If that doesn't work I can stop by on my way home - the trip home will be a little more leisurely anyway, I think. If I leave Minneapolis (or somewhere near it) Tuesday morning, it looks like I'd be in the Missoula area around the middle of the day on Thursday - Jane Burnham Shigley, I could stop by then, or again maybe on the way home.
(just looked it up - kalispell is almost a six hour drive from calgary!)

Then I'd better keep on rolling somewhere into mid-Washington before stopping for the night on Thursday; from there it's a good 10-12 hours into Comox, and I'm still trying to figure out the best route with all the ferries and whatnot. Monday the 20th (or thereabouts) I will turn around and head for home - but I can be a little more relaxed as I don't need to be home until very late on Friday. Ideally I'd enjoy taking a different route home, as I like to see new things, so if you're in between here and there and I haven't mentioned you, and you would like to see my smiling face for an hour or two, please let me know! My plans (such as they are) are quite flexible, as you can see!
