HEY RBUD!!!!! not quite yet, dear. but Don says he doen't remember my legs ever being this thin

yes, dear friend. i will be happy to lose another 20lbs.

grrrr, don't you just hate when you know you typed in a word....but for some reason the grid did not accept it the first time.
yes, I do, it's happened to me before :P
be warned...there are 8 x sk words in the grid
O_O
well, I had two, guess I need to expand the search
good monkeys, up to 6 now
well done, rbud...i'm impressed
yay, have 8 now, good to know I can give up on those two first letters. :D
yay, rbud. nice job.

ty
thanks for the sn words
found all the sk words
whoot, my last four words were the run of to6, 8, 8, 9
wow, flosey, well done, at this time if night, too.
so you're done? congrats!
thanx rbud. th5's like in the old grey mare, yet.
long way to go rbud, just getting started, 233 to go
* life*
oh, flosey, remember i was complaining of going hot and cold all the time?
yes rose, please don't say that's happening again
it turns out it has been the pain all along. as soon as i take my pain meds, everything settles down for about 4 hours.
ah, so the meds calmed everything down - as usual, but then you heat up again?
strange what our bodies do to us. yes, hun. or go into peripheral shutdown, because the pain is so intense. worked it out the ot5 day when my IBS played up.same rule, take something to stop the pain, and everything settles
any idea how much longer this will go on?
not really, flosey. but now i know how to handle it, it all should be easy. my surgeon was suitably impressed by how little i was using in way of meds.
that is encouraging
I mean, the fact that the surgeon is impressed
each week, the physio gives me new exercises. the pain levels go up for a while, then as the muscles get used to being used again, all settles down.
lol, found out the ot5 day, i still don't know how to go DOWN a flight of stairs. was coming out of church, felt pretty cocky, so thought, i will use the steps. yeah, right. got down one step, and then became a frozen moment as i couldn't work out how to step down.
hope hubby was there with you
poor Don, he was standing right beside me, saying, just put your left foot back on the step, dear....and dear was looking at him blankly, thinking, what do you mean?
ah rose, at times they can be so tender and understanding
i think he was ready to chuck me over his shoulder and carry me the rest of the way. LOL. i am one very lucky lady, to have him.
but once into the steps, what on earth did you do to get either back up or down
can just picture grannyrose being flung over his shoulder
well, i did as i was told(finally). put my left foot back on the step, and proceeded one step at a time, always stepping down with the right foot and walking stick.
this sounds so much like me trying to help hubs get around... he only has one sort of good leg these days.
oh, and after my appointment with the surgeon? as i was pretty much in the same building, i popped in and was able to say hello to my work mates. they were all suitably impressed with the new grannyrose. one girl said she was going to hide all the smaller sized scrubs when i come back to work, just to see me in the 2xl's i used to wear.
they want to see you spin around and have them on backwards? ;p
so you can be proud of yourself and show them just how much you have, in fact, lost
it's so difficult, isn't rbud. watching your loved one not as spry as he used to be.
actually, i can't wait. i wonder which size i am now?
yes, though he's never really been terribly mobile, has had to bend way over and pull himself up stairs the whole time I've known him. he hates stairs.
which is how long, rbud?
he broke his back when he was 17 in a car wreck, and hasn't been quite right since - but they told him he'd probably never walk again at all, and he did.
let's see, since 1987 now.
our daughter was born in '88, have to count back, lol
have you known him all that time rbud?
yay, him. i was told over 32 years ago, if i didn't have spinal surgery, i would be in a wheelchair within 5 years. didn't happen!!!!
no, we met when he was 28 and I was 30.
he chased me around till I caught him, lol
lol
lol, rbud.
now it's muscular dystrophy, though, complicating things. runs in his family. I worry about the kids, sigh.
rbud, th5 are blood te4s which can be done....or is it a muscle biopsy? not sure. ask you doctor.
so far they don't seem to have the signs, most of his family that got it had a similar gait - but I guess you never know.
Yes, I know they did that to him, had to snip out a bit and te4 it. I guess I thought it would only show up if you had developed it, don't know if it is th5 all along, hmmm. something to consider.
he's not on any medication for anything, not sure if there is any.
really falling asleep, must go, goodnight all, happy babbling
not to my knowledge, rbud. i think the general rule is treat symptomatically.
night flosey, sleep well
night, dearest flosey, sleep well, hun
just googled it rbud. yes, th5 are genetic te4s which can be done.
he can't get on medical aid until November, they make you wait 2 years after you can no longer work because of your disability. at least it goes back to then, that's good, because it took over a year to get him on disability.
well, not sure we want to know. :(
rbud, your kids might want to know. do you have grandkiddies?
the kids are 21 and 24, they hopefully have a lot of good years to go, though I worry about our daughter, she lives on junk food and sodas, can't seem to convince her to eat right.
nope, no grandbabies yet.
diabetes also runs in his family, and she looks to be courting it if you ask me, grrrr.
she'll drink gallons of soda a day if she can get it.
well, now's the time to consider the te4s. and then your children can make up their minds about having babies. it is always good to have ALL the facts in your hand before a major decision like that.
would be helpful if any of us had any medical insurance, none of us do. not sure how obamacare is going to work out.
I'm in the hole between too young to get aid, and the kids being too old now for me to get any.
rbud, they are only young once...you brought her up right, you taught her the right way to eat....it's now up to her to follow what you have taught her.
they won't get any insurance or aid unless they get good jobs - not looking likely - or have kids, too. then medical kicks in.
I know, I try not to let it bug me, but I lecture her constantly anyway. falls on deaf ears.
would be easier if they didn't both still live with us, sigh...
we just wanna be left alone, lol! no such luck so far.
it all seems so complicated over th5, rbud.( re health care and insurance) and dear friend, stop the lectures. let her mull over what you have said and taught her.
she KNOWS what is right, for her, she will come around. at their age, they seem to think they are immortal.
I'm working on getting this year's mammogram and checkups, have gotten one annually for 30 years, because of lots of cancer in my family. now have to pay for it out of pocket or work through a local clinic, but it doesn't seem like they can help. so I guess we'll pay. I worry if I don't get it every year.
sometimes allowing something 'naughty' into a diet regime stops the cravings to gorge on the wrong things.
she's always been a chowhound, she's out of shape and overweight, and nearly six feet tall to boot! not a bit dainty, lol. 6 inches taller than me.
yes, that is a worry, rbud. especially if it runs in the family. you would never forgive yourself if you didn't have the mammogram.
well, I'm planning to, though running a little later than usual. had a clean bill of health last year, yay!
mom's had two mastectomies, over 20 years since the first one, she's been lucky.
yes, yay, rbud. but it's alright to be a little behind schedule.
oh, pooh, now thinking about mom - she's 84 and starting to fuss that everything's confusing, she wants to move into a senior housing unit, though she has a lovely little apartment that costs almost nothing now. she's fine, takes care of herself, pays her own bills, cooks and cleans fine, not showing signs of alzheimer's or any of that, except when it suits her purposes, lol
"oh, this change of insurance companies is so confusing, and the landlord raised the rent, I'll be broke soon!" (he raised it $20, that's nothing!)
yet she doesn't want to move in with us, she says. too far from town and it "smells like cigarettes, yuck!"
ongoing fuss and bother, will have to settle on something soon.
* giggle * you should hear my mum. the way she tells it, we need to be booking the funeral parlour.and the naughty girl, has now involved her grandsons( my sons) into the family mess, by telling them that none of her children want to take care of her.
mind you, when dad died 10 years ago, i gave her 2-3 years to setle down. then asked her to please sell up and move closer to me. i have since begged her, and out-right told her. nope, nothing.
mom fussed when her last husband died, "don't know what will become of me now, I suppose you'll want to put me in a nursing home!" we told her we couldn't afford it! she'd better take care of things herself, lol
now, the whine is, i'm (she) too sick to do anything. for goodness sake!!
she has more than enough monthy income, good insurance, money left over each month... what's the problem? she's only a few blocks from the senior center, she can walk fine still, and go see friends... I'd be thrilled if I were in such good shape at that age!
do you know she rang me last week and whined for over 1/2 hour. i was nearly ready to strangle her.
* nodding head * know where you are at, rbud. frustration is a good word.
I hear that! I get so frustrated with mine, I just want to shake some sense into her. she pretends to be helpless to get sympathy, but I know she's not.
as i said to Don this AM.....if she's so sick, why hasn't the doctor hospitalised her? she has private health insurance.
I think mine's just bored. she needlepoints endlessly, but now she has a touch of glaucoma, so she's afraid she'll be sitting around blind in no time. I hope not.
oh, dear, rbud. nip that in the bud, so to speak. exactly how much is a touch of glaucoma?
not sure, but her doctors are monitoring it. she hasn't mentioned them wanting to operate yet.
haha, maybe she'd benefit from some medicinal marijuana, can just see me trying to convince her of that!
it is a manageable condition, rbud. at least i this day and age.unlike my mother, who refused to take my advice, and didn't have her carpal tunnel syndrome attended to until it was too late. now she has only one functioning hand.
oh, mom's had her kn5 done, had a cataract dealt with, two mastectomies as I mentioned, and carpal tunnel surgery, too, on both wrists. she's no stranger to getting things worked on.
she still wears a little wrist brace sometimes, when she's been needlepointing a lot.
you know what, i really enjoy talking with you, rbud, but himself is clattering around me. ( i'm at the kitchen table) i think he wants to start dinner preparations. * sigh* perhaps email me, and we can chat that way.
oh, well, do tend to him, lol, I think I hear mine out in the kitchen, too, wouldn't you know! (((hugs))) will check out your email addy. :)
love and hugs dearest. will respond at soonest.
hello, I'm afraid I'm too late

hi Ruby, back again. How are you and Mr Ruby?

It is sad to see them both in decline

{{HUGGLES}}
ty, I appreciate that. I need all the huggles I can get!
if you don't mind me asking, how old is Mr Ruby?

I'm, of course, much younger LOL
LOL heaps younger. My Mum is 85 and starting to forget things...but she does courses on the internet to keep her brain active, plus she Babbles accasionally.
husband's memory has started to deteriorate rapidly. He's aware of it, so it make it so much sadder.

morning all!
hi everyone clue for the ea9/10
found it
hi cool.girl, no clue :-)
that would be New Yorkers wouldn't it?
Hello all
hi lynxx!
hi Sue
and it would indeed! thanks!!
BBL got down to 130 and slowed right down
bye, lynxxx!
good morning sue - are you off on your trip?
I am, wv!
where are u?
I am in a little town in southern Minnesota at the moment
enjoy the trip - we drove out west last summer - beautiful country but no babble meet
I am having a great time already - slow relaxed trip so far, on scenic byways
we stopped at lots of national parks - Devils Tower, Yellowstone, Mt Rainier, Tetons - also parks in British columbia - Manning Park and the Olympic Peninsula was new to us and stayed there longer than planned
most of it will be new to me - I've been to Minneapolis a lot but not to the rest of the state, never to the Dakotas or Montana, been to Seattle but flew there, and never to western Canada
the Badlands and Mt rushmore in Dakotas are worth wandering through - British Columbia had lots of places to see
I *thought* I heard horses! Amish buggy just went down the street!
what wonderful memories you will have of this trip
taking lots of pictures too!
i had never blogged before but did last summer - it is a wonderful memory of the trip - included pictures on it - also family here could know where we were
... You might be interested in the dinosaur provincial park in south eastern Alberta ...
hm, that's a thought...
... although I'll bet there are several historic dig sites along the way in the Dakotas i
I would, dos! Maybe I can go home that way (don't have the homeward trip planned out yet)
and Montana
i think it was a Google blog site - showed you how to do it which helped since i had never done it before - heled me to focus on what we did each day
there are some in Comox as well, Bugsaw has a fossil-digging trip planned for Sunday
... it's near Medicine Hat in the southeast corner of Alberta
... if you come back east through the Canadian Rockies ... you'd come out the Rogers Pass on the TransCanada Highway ... go through Calgary ... and then head south east along the TransCanada
will look at the map, thanks dos!
look at blogspot.com if you want to keep a blog about the trip
will do! thanks wv!
Good morning Babblers

hi, all. I saw my parents this weekend for the first time since their house burned. They are in a temporary apartment and are doing okay. Mom told me she thinks she is going to do with a lot less "stuff" from now on. The work on the house is underway, and is going well.
that's good to hear
what? I didn't hear about this! glad things are getting on an even keel!
Hi Angel. I am glad to hear they are making progress!
And good morning everyone!...what's left of it anyway!
hi car
Hello jmc!

ah ty
and now it is time for crossys tidbit of the day!!!!!
jmc, th3e house burned on 7/8 in an accidental grease fire. half the house was destroyed. They and my brother were blessed to get out alive.
:)
i actually saw that clue earlier and didn't understand it
The delegates who attended the Constitutional Convention spent much of their time getting drunk. One surviving document is a bill for a party on September 15th, 1787, two days before the signing of the Constitution. Items on the bill were: 54 bottles of Madeira, 60 bottles of Claret, 8 bottles of whiskey, 8 bottles of cider, 12 bottles of beer, and 7 bowls of alcoholic punch. All of this for only 55 people.
so our government began as it was to go on...
i am sorry but i a glad no one was killed!!!!
<hic>
as am I. July was a very rough month.
i am glad your family is safe angel
just a year ago, my mom had surgery for colon cancer, and my dad had been released from the hospital just a few days before the fire.
i can only imagine angel! but it is things like these that reminds you it is only stuff and people are vastly more important
nbt btw
stuff,is what insurance companies are for
good lord, angel!! glad things are going better now -- what an ordeal . . .
they have excellent insurance, which helps a lot.
Well done jmc!
family is priceless
and he** i was feeling sorry for myself about money!
lol,my content coverage is 50,000 on my policy..hell i could lose it all ,replace it and clear 35 grand lol..actually a tornado could come through here and do 10,000 worth of improvements...

roker said something... i think at thanksgiving... that was awful...
yes?
i wish i could remember the exact wording
it was something like, "that's what makes the japanese so wonderful - they have a great appreciation of american culture"
bizarre
okay i have found 100 words for i am taking a break bbl
Bye jmc! Have a great day!

Nope. I don't have the to 9 either!!! But I am going to look now! TY !
Got it!
ea9, pl for 10
ah thanks, should have seen that!
TY Kalea! Got 'em both!
this day is not going so great
Oh no Hurshy! Anything we can do for you?
not really.
I am so nervous today. I had to report my step daughter for firing weapons with her children in the house. She and her husband had a small gun fight which was never report to the police.
of course I am sure that the entire family will hate me
good lord!
Oh my god Science! How horrible!
wow i guess that's worse than my day.
We took the girls on a vacation and they told us about the guns.
a small gunfight? my god
well you did the right thing.
indeed
I did not call CPS, but I did call the school and talked with the principal. She is also in a custody battle for two other children whom she lost 6 years ago. I called the attorney representing the people who have those children
you do have to report it..it's the right thing to do
holy cow
Well my husband is going to be pissed at me. I know itis the right thing to do, but it is an awkard position to be in. Everyone in the family knows this happened, but no one wants to do anything
sadly even though it is your son,i would of called cps
it often is hard to be the only one willing to do the right thing.
The safety of the girls is the priority...not hurt feelings. That is something that could have turned terribly wrong.
They apparently were drunk. She fired a handgun at the husband and he returned with a rifle. She had buckshot in her leg, but did not seek medical attention (the police would have been notified by the doctor).
if guns are used in a house this way,you can be SURE they are not stored properly with mome safety in mond and one day the children will get ahold of one
home
It is not my son. It is my husband's daughter.
sorry
Good grief!
but yes get the kids and guns out of there.in the past my brother was shot in the arm in this way
Well, my anxiety level is quite high
She and I do not get along at all. This is her third marriage in 10 years. The new husband is a freak.
The only time she calls is when she wants money.
loaded guns laying around, brother handed a 22 to his friend so they could look at them and fried fired one right through his upper arm missing his head by a foot..you did right, never doubt it science
Gee Crossy. Yes, you read about kids shooting each other all the time.
and this is not a safe house by your description
My stomach is lurching just thinking about what could have happened.
My husband said to me "you don't have to destroy her life." I think she is doing that all by herself.
that round from her handgun could of gone right through the wall and killed one of the children
And she will take those children with her unfortunately.
The girls said that they locked themselves in the bathroom.
Science, you and your family are in my prayers.
How old?
Thanks. My family needs prayers for wisdom. I need prayers to not be frightened by reporting this
one will be 12 in November and the other will be 11 in April
Dear God.
women who fire off handguns in the house generally do not get custody here
Science...the thought of what could have happened to one of those precious girls is the only thing you need to know that you have done the right thing.
well, I don't know what will happen. Not sure if the other attorney will do anything without having to question the girls. The principal of the school may report it to CPS
your family needs to be on the Dr. Phil show
"You need a license to catch a fish...but anyone can have a child".
The Principal HAS to report it to the CPS
no kidding.
the weird thing is that the girls are very protective of their mother
just hoping the husband doesn't divorce me over this
that's called co-dependency
Of course they are.
If he does, he does not have his priorities straight.
children's welfare ALWAYS comes first
I literally want to get in my car right now and get those girls out of there.
she has manipulated her father for years. she uses the kids as a weapon. I made her angry before we left on the trip and she told her dad that we could not take the girls. I "apologized" and then we got to take the girls
he has a lot of guilt with this daughter.
I wouldn't have given them back.
I'm sorry...I am spouting.
You are in an extremly difficult situation, Science. As I said before, I will be praying for all of you. Please let us know if we can be there to support you in any way.
the older one is obese. they have eating issues which I believe stems from their home environment. They also told us that they never have breakfast before school.
<---not liking science's daughter
step daughter
OHHHHHHHH
Science, someone had to be an advocate for those girls. I commend you for doing it.
your husband needs to grow up
{{MOLLY!}}
I had to buy them clothes. This is always the case. The fat one is less than 5 feet tall and is wearing a size 9 in juniors and a 36 A bra.
yes I do too.. you might have saved the children's lives
I guess she must weigh 120 pounds. Has a huge gut and a double chin. She is always worried about eating.....when are we going to eat?
Food issues are common in children who have dysfunctional families. Food becomes their comfort.
Yes. I know Molly. It is awful. I have taught so many kids like this. It is horrible when it is in your family and you cannot do anything
Well, the first step is getting them away from a violent situation. She can get help with the other things after that.
well my stomach in in a knot. Sometimes I wish I could turn my head and look the other way like the rest of the family. As a teacher, if these kids had told me the story, I would legally have to call CPS.
Oh, after the gunfight, she kept them out of school for the last week of school. She probably was afraid that they will tell someone.
You did the right thing and it took a lot of guts. Those girls need to know someone is on their side.
They are fed a lot of negative information from their mother about me. She uses those kids emotionally. So, I am not sure how they feel about me being their step grandma. One thing though, they will tell me anything
I was shocked and angry when I learned of this
Obviously, they don't believe what their mother tells them, and they trust you. That is a good thing.
But they protect her so much.....
Emotionally and physically abused people often defend and keep secrets about those abusing them. It's a hard thing to understand, psychologically.
and my MIL is pissed that I reported this also
Well you know what Science? The hell with all those people who are pissed at you. In the next gun fight, one of those girls could have gotten shot.
I came from an abusive home. left when I turned 16 and lived with a friend and her father. I suppose this is why I have a low tolerance for this type of behavior
I am sure that another gun fight might occur. She fired first. She is very explosive and unpredictable.
they drink, smoke pot, and she takes psychotropic mushrooms
Those things, and guns is a recipe for disaster.
she was so high one night, she called her dad and thought she was talking with her brother.
the girls said that they get drunk and act "weird" almost every night. They don't get up until noon and the girls fend for themselves in the morning
Kids in situations like this are helpless unless someone speaks up or steps in. Those girls are lucky that you did.
sounds like drugs
that's what I think. I wonder if they will drug test her in this custody case. She has had to be drug tested by the court several times
the kids father lives in Chicago. I am hoping that the other step daughter will tell him what has happened. He needs to step up for his children
CPS probably would drug test her
well I did not call CPS. Maybe someone else will
I am sure she will figure out that it was me. Then, I have to see if she is crazy enough to come here and try to shoot me.
Science, I'm hoping that you took the first step in making changes to this awful situation.
Molly, I reported it to the school principal and the attorney for the other side in her custody battle for two other children from another marraige
that's all I could do. I was so nervous and scared. I was shaking. I am over the top with anxiety
If I'm not mistaken, an attorney is bound by law to report anything told to them that indicated danger to another person, especially children.
well, there we go.
You, my dear, need to take some deep breaths and be confident that you did the right thing.
Too bad Welkie is not on here now. She would know
good morning everyone :)
Just took a klonopin.
Hi nan
principals are bound by law as well
well, the sh*t is going to hit the proverbial fan
sounds like it is past due to happen SG
Science, something had to change in this situation or one or both of those girls would have ended up injured or dead.
I hate feeling like I did something wrong and that I will be punished for it by the husband, etc.
help with the second fe7/40 plz
You didn't do anything wrong.

thanks. I am still so anxious. It sucks to be the bad guy even when you know what you did was correct
you are not the bad guy.you get the rare opurtunity to save lives
the childrens lives
hopefully he will wise up and not divorce me over this or make my live hell
if hubby wants a alternate view in this he can contact me any time
(((((science))))) I missed the beginning of this, I know, but my heart is with you.

okay...here I go.......yes, Crossy, that is right
bbl to finish (hopefully)
put it to him that way
((science))
read it the chog . . . you were right. . . drugs and drink and guns do not mix. . . even the NRA says that
her hand gun,i have been in many gun clubs and on rifle ranges and have seen projectiles do funny things, hit a branch and change trajectory..anything could of happened
and him! a shot gun blast in the house!
well today the chog has been one to remind me that it is only money. . . what really counts is the ones we love even when they make it hard to love them
and kids in the bathroom protected by some wooden wall studs and half an inch of drywall...science is perfectly correct in reporting this
yes,house fires..shootings..my
i woke up this morning worrying and depressed. . .now i am still worrying but not about me. . . there is nothing in my family that is this bad right now
Kitchen done...time to reward with babbling...hi jmc and crossy
Any time children witness violence, they are harmed. Any time weapons are used in a dispute, there is danger for every person around.
hey jilly
yes perspective can make one glad of what they do have
howdy jilly
Hey stiddy!
If people were more willing to get involved, sooner, perhaps things wouldn't get to the point where lives are endangered.
yes, what about the neighbours..no one heard this at all?
though if she has buckshot in her leg,the first dr who sees it will report it,or should
depends on where you live. . . house too far apart. . .street noises
here, all weapon wounds are reported to police
in the united states gunshot wounds are a mandatory report
ok
so,if she cannot dig them out, they will get infected and she will have to seek medical aid
Hello everyone
howdy seaspray
and in most states, if children (or others) divulge abuse to teachers, doctors or other professionals those professionals have a duty to report, either to law enforcement or to cps
hey sea
hi stid, crossy, sea
Hi bichon
hi bichon and seaspray
hey bichon
howdy bichon
lovely, mild day here in the Bay Area.
Nice day here too, if it wasn't so smoky....
It's warm here... and supposed to hit the 90s again before the end of the week. I am watering every plant in sight.
Oh, and deer didn't come back last night...beets still intact...
mmm venison and beets......
afternoon everyone:)
the deer ate the tops off all the mariposa lilies last night -- right by the front door, and decapitated some of the glads that were about to bloom also
Yep, neighbor offered right away to dispatch said deer....
when we lived up north we had to plant a second garden far from the first against the tree line just for the deer and ours was enclosed with chicken wire
Hello everyone. Science, I just wandered through the chog, I am shocked and upset. If you are afraid of your husband, that is a telling thing - do you need protection too?
howdy Altagolfnut5
at least my veggie garden is protected now
I just read yesterday that if you cut dryer sheets into one inch strips and hang off plants the deer won't bother them...
howdy mich
crossy, don't you already live up north?
not as far as i used to
Hi Mich
I can't chat too much. DH is trying to fall asleep; I can chat away once he's asleep but for a few minutes.... SSHHH
Dang stid...and yes, bichon, am going to try the dryer sheets
sometimes things like that work, sea -- this year they are eating things they don't even like... they are so thin and hungry
awww...poor things...I am a softie when it comes to animals...except ground hogs lol
huh,our deer are fat and round saussages on stilts this year
mich i think she is more afraid of the step-daughter
winter ended a month an a half early and they have been eating ever since
i can think of lots of animals i don't like. . .rats for example
But mich, you are right -- that is a question that also needs asking.
and venison is tasty. . . although i have never hunted myself
yes, says step daughter is a little..off.well of course she is firing guns in the house and the hubby is not better
sorry, I am a little distracted here
dang...never thougt about the rats...don't like them either, and snakes don't like snakes
I am actually quite good with a rifle...beat the whole family including the now marine at skeet. . .
and you didn't even start with insects. . .how about mosquitoes?
Takes lot of skill to hunt yourself
mosquitoes attacked me over the weekend...and centipedes I really hate yuck!
i am crafty that way BR
We have an increase of spiders...do they sense an early fall?
First thought: The Most Dangerous Game.
even more to find yourself, BR.
i would say more likely all the extra insects because of the mild winter. . . lots to eat
probably -- it's a little early for the indoor migration here (and haven't seen any yet) but the inside spiders are definitely in the end of summer swing of things
we do not have a spider problem here, out cats gobble them up like they are crunchy M&M,s
i enjoyed that story when i was young but now it creeps me out too much. . .i have se** too much
good point amelu!
I agree Jmc...wish I could teach my cat to hunt bugs..he does teenage bunnies and birds
hunt to find
my brother had a pet spider next to the back door of the house to eat mosquitoes
i guess hunting for yourself is the first step in finding yourself
I have one cat who's speciality is bugs..the other one likes mice...hey, they pay their rent!
I checked lost and found ... no help
i just wish i wasn't terrified of bats. . . it would be good to have a bat house. .
probably haven't been turned in yet BR
They had a women bitten by a bat at a resort near here...thankfully negative for rabies..
We have bats in a hedge of cypress trees...they scare me...one night I was coming home from my neighbors whose yard is connected to ours...he is a clown and he started yelling Bats! and I ran home. lol
Probably that sip from Lethe.
YAY!! K's done!
Meat Loaf: Bat Out Of Hell
Did you see him on celebrity apprentice?

Oh my, he has serious anger issues

howdy phand:)
Good phand, how are you?
ok. Waiting for the boy to get out the shower so I can get him $100 running shoes for cross country
I like that he does sports but I don't like the cost of the shoes!
Keeping up with the cost of a sport can be expensive.
and good shoes are important when you are running all the time!
sure can but so good the see the kids into sports
Good shoes are important period. People do a lot of damage to their feet wearing crappy shoes.
yes they do!
ke7 please?
need a clue for se6/21 please?
your backside...slang term crossy
That was Cos who asked for the clue.
ty champ
crud...sorry..half in and half out obviously...
rip horseshack
ke 7 -- posterior
tyvm for ke7
hello, babblers
no problemo
howdy welki
mmm rabbit pancakes....
se 6 -- something intended to remain private
I managed to get up to 21 K's
thanks BR, looking
I bow to your K's phandmd!
got them, thanks again BR
...esp since I have a whopping 7
well, I have had the help of the list
but there is a 4/8 that I can't put together yet
ke + a simile word
I'm not halfway yet, and I try to get as far as I can without it. ...oh...I have a couple...k-what?
ty br
it's the 4th Ke 4/8
I also like to get at least 1/2 way before listing. I managed to do a little better than 1/2 today
just got it! woo hoo!
Oh...good for you!!!
anyone have the 2nd KE 5/24?
or the KE 5/22?
ke5/24 sounds like actor Sutherland (the younger)
ke 5/22 sounds like what you sit on in a park
ty Molly!
I think the ke 5/24 you clued is the first one
The one after the bird, parake...
I'm halfway! Wow...wasn't paying attention...
good for you Champ
That is a plural. The first ke5/24 sounds like the coral ridges in the sea.
The second 5/24 is ke + the kind of tree you decorate at Christmas
so sorry, you did clue the right word then, just didn't think to use the I there! Thank you so much! The K's are kicked!
Yay!
fireworks, didn't think I'd finish this one
It's a weird word, Phand.
Good job Flosey
WTG Flosey!
Nice job, flosey
thanks Molly, and Champ
wow! Good for you, Flosey! Woo Hoo! I doubt I will finish either, I still have 95 words at this point
now must go, early supper, hubby has early meeting
are all the OC's related?
and thanks phand, good luck, you can do it
yep
and found them! Thank you!
glad i could help 8-)
o's are ousted
19 s and t words left
re 7/8 pair?
just the three oc words?
re + tending to a wood or coal furnace or stove;pl
yep
Thank yo u BR, that of course gave me 4 words!
Crossy...the root is a color...golden yellow...
se 5/16?
ty champ
phandmd... the word describes a typeface
???? hmmm
letters with little flat feet; the feet are called se5s
If the type doesn't have edges, it's "sans se5/16"
Excellent description Gwen! I couldn't get there....
ty champ
8-D
np!
fireworks!!
yaa for peri!!
Yay peri!
I guess I need a non type clue for that se 5/16...
yippee Peri!
i would love to get under 50 to go before listing:)
se + a really cool phrase on a electric guitar is a ***f
phand if it was sh instead of se,ot would almost be a lawman
It also reminds me of the Sh7 of Nottingham, take off the h.
snap champ
Great minds, crossy!
wtg perri (she said way too late) !!!!!!!! ~~~~~~~~ !!!!!!!!
thanks! Now off to get those shoes with 55 left. Who knows, maybe later.
gwen, you know you can get a tardis book case now online??
been there, done that! (well, i've seen the picture anyway, lol)
Good luck with the running shoes. My daughters' cost more than mine...annoying!
it opens like a real one
spend the money, too late i found out that 30 dollars shoes are not the way to go with heavy walking/running
...and also have someone fit them so you know they're the right ones.
i have a bunch of tardis toys already, and my USB hub is a tardis, very cute
yes,i needed one extra width
i was burning through two pairs of wal-mart specials a summer, but a 150 dollar pair of custom new balance runners are 3 years and still going
and the arch support is superlative
it is almost like they help you run/walk
crossy, that's too long!!! They're designed to break down around 300-400 miles. You're way past that. Look at the tread...
ahh, yes,i see your point.i do 300-400 mile a month mmm
maybe one a season
You know what I mean! If you go try on new ones, you'll see the difference immediately. it'll be like walkin' on the moon!
i am sure you are correct, that is how i felt when i first walked out of the store with them,it was almost like they were spring loaded
cheap shoes 9and a tad too much weight) are the reason i have bursitis now i am sure
(I'll quit after this)...I have aches and pains when my shoes are due for a change. When I get the new ones, voila! No problemos!
finally found another 8
yaa for gwen!
i am still missing four 8,s it tells me
Champ you are spot on about shoes. You need to check the treads on them like you check the treads on your tires.
I have a friend who writes the month and year on his in Sharpie, so he knows.
i need 7 more eights 8-(
i prefer the new balance because of the width choices
Champ, mine never last more than a year, and sometimes less than that.
I just switched to them, because I wear a narrow, and Nike was out of my shoe. BUT...this doesn't have as much cushion at the ball of my foot, which is taking some getting used to.
I run a lot, so I can only go 3-4 months.
i walk mine bald, miles and miles
Time for a shopping trip, crossy
in all terrain
You know they make trail shoes? I usually wear old running shoes on trails, but there is a specific shoe for that.
well, dinner time, gotta fly, *poink*
bye gwen!
trail shoes??
i would love a pair of good trail shoes, these days all my walking is now hiking on the mtn
hello friends.
my doc says now i am semi retired,i have to use my poor knees or lose them\
howdy trif:))
was out in the garden and got stung by a bee. Took that as a sign that it was time to babble :)
google them and see what you think crossy. The bottom isn't very cushiony, but supposedly they're better for trails. I dunno...
Definitely! Bee vs babble? i think not!
indeed. thanks champ
crossy, did I tell you about the art project primo and I have been working on? We hung the last of it up this afternoon, and I have to say, it looks SO pretty!
no you did not tell me bout it
Primo and I collected about 45 blue glass bottles of all sizes and shapes (friends donated tons!) and we took the bottoms off. Then we used galvanized wire, canning jar lids and lots of other bibs and bobs and made them all into hanging lamps, which now hang amongst the grape vines on the pergola over the back deck. There are still a few more spots to fill in, but I am WELL pleased with how they look so far
we lit them last night.....our very own fireflies! impossible to photograph, but very cool
Can you take a pic during the day, so we can see the project? Sounds pretty!
doesn't look quite as cool during the day, but I could try....
blue bottles are so pretty. I'll bet it's awesome.
That sounds so neat, Trif! What a great idea for beauty!
I am just so happy with it. It looks exactly like I wanted....
Trif are they electrical lamps or candle lamps?
I am going to try to upload a photo....and tea lights, molly - teeny candles, they burn themselves out, so no fire concerns
Now see...I immediately thought electrical! tealights are probably beautiful.
okay, I changed my profile pic, hopefully that shows it okay?
Oh I'll bet it's beautiful when lit!
it really, really is. I love that the bottles are all different shapes and sizes, and that eventually all the labels will weather off.....
sounds very nice indeed trif;)
let me know when you would like to come over for a nice drink of something lovely....
i once saw an exterior bath room wall on a century stone home done with stone ,mortar and blue and green wine bottle(tops with screw caps facing inwards,it created a rainbow/stained glass effect and if on a cold but sunny day,you removed all the caps you would actuall get heat from the air trapped in the sun warmed bottles
Hi everyone, can I get a clue for the first se 6/21?
what a great idea! I will have to keep saving up! I did save all the blue bottoms....
by the way, we used physics to get them all off....scored around the bottles first, then boiled them, then took them out with tongs and lowered the bottoms into an ice bath - poof! bottoms popped right off!
yuppers;)
Trif, Sue will be so proud. : )
thanks!
First se6/21...old game show...I've Got A Se6
there was a company in jamacia(name escapes me now) where the bottles were manufactured in such a way to be intended for home construction9was in 50,s or 60,s as i recall) triff
thanks so much, Molly
Glad to help, Annie.
My front door has a blank glass panel next to it, and I do dream of filling it in with blue bottle bottoms, crossy
May I please have a clue for cr6-21? Thanks
now there is an idea;)
Am I addicted? This morning I had a cataract removed from my left eye and here I am. My daughter was going to spend the night but I sent her home to her family. I am doing well.
Good for you, Annie
glad to hear the surgery went well!
gap, Pants usually have a cr**** . But the word takes a double vowel in the middle
thanks trif and gap
and an easy one trif, you make a wooden template the size of the existing window lay out the bottms of the bottles to fill the space and mark them on the wooden panel with pencil, use a jig saw to cut out circlesplace bottoms of bottles into cut out circle using hilti 2-part epoxy to hold them in places and with the remaining wood that shows in the spaces use bits from broken blue plates or jade green
Thanks much, Annie.
we used blue willow plates
they were all chipped anyways
Aw Annie, you should have let your daughter stay and pamper you. I'm glad everything went okay for you.
crossy, that is a fabulous plan! I am going to remember that, if you don't mind.....
i am glad annie,it makes such a difference,my mrs had 2 cataracts removed and glass lenses place in both eyes
I used blue willow plates and about a life's worth of sea glass to do my back splash, crossy
the eopxy is important as you are binding glass to wood
sea glass is even better!
i am back
molly ill email u a pic of a sunflower i grew from seed to now
leave 3/4 inch around edge for trim to fasten it to window frame
wb cosdem
i like the idea of sea glass backsplash:)
Looking forward to it Cos. : )
You can see photos of the backsplash on my profile crossy, if you click on the link for Flickr, and then go to page 11
will do
sent molly.. it died a month ago but we revived it
wow! trif! you need no lesson form me as to glass work! that is for sure! i need lessons form you!
not at all crossy! I had no idea at all how to do the front window, so I very much appreciate your ideas
the ke5/24 after the ke7 please?

Oops, I fell for it. : D
how aout the ke5/22 before barbie's bf plural?

what is the topic, jmc?
ta7 the first?
i am suppose to plan community organizing to deal with a problem in a community
salt water candies?
JMC, you're a community organizer? You can run for President! : D
a local county council is voting on supporting a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United and since I am lazy I am using that as my topic
haha too many skeletons in my closet *tries to hold closet door closed*
ah, and it's something you should be able to write in your sleep then.
Tom is home. gonna split. thanks for the candy word *poof*
Skeletons in your closet would keep you out of politics? Ahahahahahaha!
not completely in my sleep since i need to cite community organizing theory
bye stid
depends on the kind molls
CU needs to be overturned.
besides being a DC resident keeps me out of politics :-P

i did offer you a mango smoothie instead
Oh great. Reminds me of the joke, how do you arrange for all men to become impotent? Put Janet Reno in a Playboy centerfold.

Good evening. Time to come out of lurking mode.
Pish, I saw you hiding behind the bushes. : D
I am impressed by your knowledge of Quakers, Molly.
Don't be. I just got lucky with that question. Something I read about Judi Dench. I like her.
Thought maybe hanging out with jmc and I was rubbing off on you.

k's done.. smugness abides
who knew there were so many S words in the world?
oh smug this!!!
o's done too.. smmmmmmmugo
yes six can be questionable. but of course since my granddaughter is six, i am including it
somebody do something to his insufferable smugness. molly, where are you? kj??
So as I am going through my boxes of things from the office, I am finding little tidbits of materials I have saved for reference and lesson plans I have written. I just need to spend a little time tonight and put them in binders... having things in boxes isn't working for me!
binders are so handy, i used to tell my students to keep things they were going to reference in binders. better organization than just stuffing them away somewhere.
Smug= highly self satisfied. It's all about Ru, don't ya know. : P
I heard kje was lost in a coffee shop somewhere.
uh oh...i forgot all about it being about ru.
Yep. A lot of these things were in binders originally, but I had to reuse the binders and was too tired to sort through them at that time. So I am more organized now, and ready to get a handle on it all. Usually I keep things with tabs, cross-referenced, and pretty much high-end records-keeping techniques (which was my background before kids). I just sort of ran out of brains for a while... LOL
<---the world according to RU
DONE with S words.
Smug = contentedly confident in one's ability, superiority or correctness
you'll get it all together soon, Stiddy.
re 6/18 anyone?
#1
thanks LBD -- of course babbling doesn't get me much further ahead... LOL
ruru -- to use a chair again
re6/21 unto Caesar what is Caesar's

An office meeting is sometimes called a st5/22 meeting
oh, now I do. Easier to find once I figure out it doesn't have a k in it.
ta7 is plural of salt water candies
*think*
hey sue! *bounce bounce bounce* only a few more days...
Bonomo Turkish candy?
hi stid!!! I 'm in South Dakota!
wow -- badlands? how hot is it?
no, I'm kind of north central, rolling plains. Not too hot, mid 80s. Was cloudy on and off all day.
that's nice -- I don't think I have been to that area before.
me either! Lots of new country for me this trip.
must have been a bad hail storm in western Minnesota recently - I saw a couple of car repair places that had signs up offering to repair hail damage

Good effort ga! Not sure if I'll be back for flip...so niters!
hmm, 158 left here and I'm getting sleepier and sleepier.
*gentle shaking of hokie's shoulders*
It's actually pretty fast when you find the 4 and 5 letter words and just add endings to them
true
Let me know if you need any clues! :-)
thx
hey hokie et al -- finished eralier, can clue if needed
how's your hip stid?
it's "okay" jilly -- still hurts with certain (specific) motion but not as much as even earlier today. It's reproducible, and predictable, so I am assuming it's related to a mechanical issue. Also think the pain is manifesting at a distance from the actual point of owie, so watching where my mechanics may be off.
Glad it's getting easier. And sounds like you are doing all the right things!
thanks jilly
I have a bit of experience with this stupid body of mine
Foolishly drank caffinated coffee with dinner..now having a G&T to hopefully counteract and be able to sleep... *sigh*
So will hang for flip...
Hokie..how are you doing? *knocks on glass to wake Hokie up*
oh man, you of all people should know better! *st5 mama look*
93 left
I know, but it was my mother's dinner...and trying to avoid eating too many yummy pumpkin cookies...

That they are!! Next to the k's!

don't miss the re 6/7 combo that could be about marijuana users.... or the more tropical fish habitat-like re 7 immediately after.
haha, those were easy
how about the first re 6/18?
You guys ever seen the movie re6/27 Madness...a 1940's anti marijuana movie?
to visualize again
brb
re6.18 to plonk yourself down on the chair again
re6/18= to repeat sitting
thx
ARGH. The flight pattern tonight is RIGHT OVERHEAD and it's going to drive me bananas.
Tom and Grant are home -- any last clues before I run away?
bananas (adj.) Look up bananas at Dictionary.com "crazy," 1968; earlier (1935) it was noted as an underworld slang term for "sexually perverted."
okay, clarification: NOT the 1935 version!
