ty!
... don't forget the plural
yep got it ty:)
I just thought of that, dos, when I saw I had no 9's
... sorry ... I teach math ... I took it as a noun rather than the more common adjective
hello all.
back for "191" though I need to go to work rather soon.
... not quite there yet
... but I think it's just large ... not difficult ... at least that's what I hope ...
so far I am not having too much trouble. but...I am down to 186 left...so not even half.
Hi red. I went off to make breakfast. I have to eat and then leave for work.
A calculus clue would be a toughie
calculus...I never took it.
... wouldn't it though
I took 4 semesters of it...differential equations. And linear algebra during 1 summer. I loved those courses but would have to relearn all of it.
... I remember an old science fiction story from the fifties in which a father was talking with his son about the cars that everyone used to have in the old days ... ... the kid was amazed that people were allowed to drive without knowing any calculus ... ... it forced me to do my math homework for the next two years
Haha
my only clue today is you need to use more words for the em 10. It is an odd one.
Clue?
it is the plural of a cupronickel coin, paper money, and monetary unit of Swaziland, equal to 100 cents.
Hahaha.
and I have no idea beyond that how to clue it.
TY, Google.
THat also works...
170 to go. Off to work. Enjoy the day.
have a nice day. Monday for me is usually a day of surprises.
205 wors in and I have grayed a box woo hoo.

so... i just posted on fb a link to a book not yet released but the author is putting podcasts up weekly, a chapter at a time...LOVING it
ugh& chapter books/plays
stephen king did that when the green mile story first came out
ended costing over 60 dollars for the book that way
still have them though..most expensive books on my shelves
well...cdn authors dont have the readership "luxuries" that Mr. King has..I doubt will be 60.00 for the book...

back again, hi everyone
((Annie))
Hi ((Mom)))
how are you doing? and your eye?
I'm busy putting drops in my eye all day long but I can see very well out of my left eye which is great.
that is excellent. There will be not stopping you once you get the other eye done
what has happened to your eye Annie?
cataracts?
I certainly hope so
lyn, I had a cataract removed
aha - my husband had one (bad) eye done and now has great vision in that eye...one more to go, though is not as bad
ugh..eye anything makes me sooo squeamish...( remembering having to have glass drilled from my eye..awake... no freezing... and not being able to move less i lose my eye)
that's horrible, Carlee
oh dear, carlee
I need the other eye done also, perhaps, October
I think Annie is very brave too.. I am not sure how I will go when it comes time for me
yeap..it pretty much was... is a memory i care to forget
i am not sure i could do it... hands bravery cap to annie...
They give you something that you are not aware of what is really going on but you are awake..absolutely no pain whatsoever before and after surgery. The drops are the pain ine ar**.
I am also squeamish about anything to do with eyes but I see I worried in vain.
no pun intended?
Now if someone could come up with a remedy to lessen the pain of peripheral neuropathy I would be eternally grateful.
you don't realize how much of your vision the cataracts have taken away until after the surgery - i also worried about the surgery and put it off too long - get it done - it is a relaticvely easy thing
hello wvteach
hi teach
good morning all
hi wv
hi teach
I really, really do not like words that begin with vowels. They trip me up more than any other words
reading back,my mrs had both eyes done and glass lenses implanted in her eyes.it is painless.the prednislone drops sting more
they make me squeamish.....
Words that begin with vowels should be abolished from Babble
I agree, Annie
lol crlee, words with vowels also make me squeamish
eyes make e squeamish

Pffth. Who reads phone books anymore. We just call 411.
or you cut the sides off of cerial boxes and save them till you have 300 of them and read it like a book
Judi, don't you pay for every 411 call you make?
I'm still missing three Q's. That really grills my cheese.
is there a clue for the em 10 other than the replacement of goats for currency
I think we charges about 75 cents for a 411 call. I usually look up numbers on line.
em plus Mr Alda, actor, finish with most of Aladdin's friend
Em10: official currency of Swaziland.
if u look in the listing of ten letter words, it will be very apparent which one it is
Oh, that's good, Haz.
And if Alexander McCall Smith had written his books about Swaziland instead of about Botswana, we'd all be familiar with the word.
ty haz - great clue
There should be a law forbidding the use of such words -- I mean, REALLY !!!
You're welcome, cybernan.
Why get so annoyed that other countries have different currencies?
did someone call an fe 7?
no fe 7
No fe 7 but some fi 7.
oh - have that one, ty
not annoyed at other countries having other currencies -- just that the words are considered to be english
i have fi 7 x 2
...and common knowledge...
They're not considered to be English, they're just included in the dictionary to say what they mean. At least, that's my take on it.
three fi 7/40
i have AR 9, IN 9, SI 9, SL 9, SN 9 - which 9 am i missing?
mmm - have good health and polish
well they should be included in our regular informational dictionary, but not the words we have to find dictionary :)

Thank you, bichon - I had had a clue before that did not include the first 'n', and of course it wouldn't go in at all! and monkeying a 10-letter word requires real monkeys - lots of them!
someone gave a great clue earlier for the em 10 , em+ Mr. Alda+ most of Aladdins friend
yay.............. a law passsed in ohiol... as of midnight last night anyone caught using a cell phone whilke driving will get a 100 $ fine and 2 points off thier license........... now just imagine how many people will get pulled over for that and ther will get caught for also not wearing a seatbelt or child restraints or are drinking???
Who was the first babbler to find the em10?
yay, indeed sammysmom
not sure, but it was around Midnight
Back again
hi Annie
hi peri :)
hmm, noises in back, supposed to be getting a new deck on back of house, maybe I should go watch for a bit
Back. sammy, we have had that law here in NY for a while
That's a wonderful clue, Uncover - I am going to send it to my son (who had been free-associating long em- words for me).
ohio is just a little behind the world scrabbler-lol
haha, helen
Bichon, I read your e-mail and will reply ASAP
We have it as well, but it doesn't seem to make a lot of difference. You still see people all the time driving and using mobiles
in ohio, if you get 12 points on your license, you lose it............ insurance costs tied to points also so it is a very expensive thing to mess with
down to 100 left, will go to list soon

morewords is then on the right of the screen
not the same as the original lickety but it works ok
I have to admit, I am not that interested in finishing today. It has been a long one, but I would like to be under 100 le**...at least!

Hooray for Jacula!!
congrats Jacula.
Yay Jac..pops the cork !!
It was the 'not day' words, btw.
Babble probably ate them
Babble eats far too many words. Suppose it has to in order to generate new and more fiendish grids. :-)
I did NOT
hah!
Not you, BR - the game. :-)
:D
I'm making cherry scones and a coffee and walnut cake later, BR. I'll save some for you. The Babble grid cn't have any, though!
One thing about finding words, you know where they are.
walnut cake - yummm
Sounds delicious
cherry scones....Y U M !
I do a lovely walnut and pear - haven't made one for ages - good thought
Yes, BR, and the last word you find is always in the last place you look, just like every other lost it4/5! ;-)
lynxx - walnut and pear sounds nice. Must try that.
What did the writing utensil take for his high sugar level? Pencil-in.

I've made a note for myself to post the recipe to you. I'm off to bed now, since it's pretty late here in UK. Happy Babbling all.xxx

was the traffic bad?
We drove down from the Bay Area and the traffic was okay til we hit the Santa Ana Freeway. The little guy barfed in the stop and go traffic. Otherwise, we didn't do any driving once we got there.

Yes, it's about 7 and 1/2 hours with a few slow spots
I am not a SoCal type of person

It sometimes frightens me the way Wht blows through a grid. : O
i won't finish but this and eysterday's grid makes me realize the game can be much more fun and challenging without a list
That is because I only have a couple of words left for each letter.
I got the simple ones while I was lurking at work.
That's funny Cos. I find it very tedious to do these big grids without Lickety. Although I get a lot more done now that I'm keeping chat turned off until I finish. My challenge is finding words on my own.
thats usually m y goal at flip. finding big words on my own so no one can help me lol
Isn't that hard to do at the flip with everyone posting stats?
how many re wrods?

wtg!
pieness shld be a word.. being one with pie mmmmmmm
finito should be a word, too, darnit! >:(
I just discovered an awesome pie. Marie Callander's Coconut Custard.
oh ive been wanting to try that
It's really, really good. Remarkably good for a frozen pie.
marie callendar is pretty good
The only drawback is that it takes a long time to defrost. And you don't want to defrost it in the microwave because it will melt the whipped cream topping.
not good for instant gratification purposes, then?
ugh never defrost frozen pies in microwave. never tstes good
my first year living alone i bought a frozen pie and put it in the fridge. a week later i take it out and.. oh crap!
I usually make my own pies, but I had a coupon for this one and I am not sorry I tried it.
i really want to make a pumpkin cheesecake from scratch this year
I make that every Thanksgiving. It's a requirement of my clan.
is that the coo clucks clan?
:D
well.. I thought it was cute..
you are cute, ruru
thank you..
someone likes my humor.. sometimes..lol
just cleaning out some email. spam box at my gmail account has spam imperial tortilla sandwiches. that just sounds so wrong.
ugh
i should say it has a link for the recipe for spam sandwiches. hubz loves spam. however, he can't have it anytime i'm at home.
ewwwwww
No coos or clucks, just a clan of Irish types. : D
I've never met anyone who eats spam really
there you are
Any "meat" you have to open with one of those twirly metal things is taboo in my house.
amen sistah
brb.. got to put some chicken in the oven..i'm cooking for mrs ru while i'm gone for a while
Filipinos love spam, and often give it as gifts. (gag) I don't understand why hubz loves the stuff, other than it's a pork by-product.
emphasis on the BY
yup
Some people grow up eating weird meat products and it sticks with them. My Dad used to eat scrapple (he was from Pennsylvania Dutch country) and it made me queasy.
afraid to ask what scrapple is
i've never had scrapple, but i've seen it made and i'll gladly say no thank you.
well.. anything with crap in it has got to be bad
google it, ru. it's not something to share in polite company
oh ugh
<---polite now
what's corned beef? we ate that sometimes when i was a kid . . .
It's a mush of pork scraps mixed with cornmeal. It looks like that peameal bacon the Canadians eat.
dunno
pork scraps? wow . . . so there's no beef in it at all?
guessing those canadians will eat anything
No, that is scrapple. Corned beef is just salt cured beef, usually with a lot of other spices as well. I like it.
corn beef hash yum
corned beef is usually a brisket cut of beef, brined and herbed then boiled.
<---where's the beef?
not a big hash eater. i think it's the presentation of all the stuff just clumped together. there are somethings i just don't want mixed and mashed together
i'm talking about stuff in a can with a "key" opener on top
ugh, i think that's the corned beef hash. looks more like dog food than human food.
The only thing I eat out of a can is tuna
That is not corned beef. I know they call it that, but trust me, it's not.
molly LOL
we thought it was a real treat -- ate it with watermelon pickles :-)
bbl
And then there are those GROSS Vienna sausages.
loved those as a kid . . .
picturing Molly's silent scream
I know someone whose mother made her Vienna sausage and mayonnaise sandwiches. And she's still alive.
funny story, as a kid we took turns feeding the dog. one of our chores. well, being kinda short and not able to read will well, i went to the cupboard and grabbed a can. it was the same size as the usual dog food. opened it up, it looked like the usual stuff, smelled the the stuff, (icky) so i filled the bowl and put the rest in the fridge. Dog was in heaven! it was corned beef hash! Mom wanted to know who ate the hash, and i said POGO did. he did too! lol
i had cousins who ate mayonnaise sandwiches . . . just mayonnaise period . . .
oh gross...vienna sausages...not from vienna and not sausages!
man, your dog was delirious with canine gourmet delight LOL
i've eaten tomatoe and mayo sandwiches with a thin slice of red onion.
LBD, that reminds me of the scene in Prince Of Tides when Lila makes her husband dinner from dog food.
lol, i remember that scene!!
that's a good sammich, dawg
Did anyone read the Francis X. Delaney novels? That man knew how to make a good sandwich. : D
i've not read him.
Edward X. Delaney.
good food in James Lee Burke's novels as well
It was The First Deadly Sin series by Lawrence Sanders.
will have to pick them up. I love a good mystery.
Patrica Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta also has some good food in it.
