Hi JIli :)
yikes, rur, there's no stopping you!
<-- lots of typos coming up
hi jilli
fo 6/30
The kind of tags I liked are no longer available here -- pain in the *** so I have to make some. The gold and silver pens I bought last year and never used (ankle break, remember) are totally dried up and I need them. No time to shop more -- stuff needs to be sent in advance in case it's too stormy for the ferries to get there on Xmas Eve with me aboard -- such as today!
fr7, don't think anyone's called that
fr 7/8, actually
or 8
Sorry -- I'll shut up and try to look for words.

Ru made some remark about what I've been drinking when the boxes went red. Here's what: Just some Stoneleigh Sauve Balnc with Chicken Tandoori, then a Finca Flischman Syrah with some blood orange greek yogurt.

Some time ago Gremlinn gave a very useful hint about using morewords -- type a ^ into its box and then the letters which are missing from the grid. Copy it (Ctrl + C). Then when you go to morewords, enter the first 2 letters and a - for the rest of the letters needed. Paste (Ctrl + V). Hit Enter and the list will be much shorter. Saves time.
<==tired of cheering
;)
huh? I will have to try that although i don't understand it at all
*holds carrot in front of une*
really poofing now . . . delivered adorable longhaired doxie boy in Kentucky at 8:00 this morning!
bye une
night une
jmc, copy and paste it to somewhere so you can print it out and figure it out. Really quite simple.
Use dashes in morewords instead of asterisks. (Bet no one expected to see me here at this time)
are you taking the doxy cycling?
are you taking the doxy cycling?
<--i sure didn't
Hi Molly -- that's what I said.
i did ty jilli and i use dashes most of the time in morewords
ty jilli and molly - just printed it off - will try to figure it out sometime. Sleep well if I don't see you again tonight. :)
good, jmc
but welcome Molly to the flipperoo
bye liz
I wonder what happened to gremlinn -- this was too easy for him, I guess. Mitch seems to be of the same ilk.
Yw Liz
maybe they lurk now
so many lurkers ..so little time
stats for the first column T please
so little time these days -- I'll be lucky if I can get nbt!
of course, I am a bit of a blabblermouth -- I enjoy the chat so much.
i am close jilli
jmc, plural the tr4/4 babblet
haha i like the chat too
I wouldn't play this game if there wasn't a chat
i dont think i would either ru. . . it would be too frustrating and not enough entertainment
that is why i am so slow on wordswithfriends. . . there is a chat but it is not contemporaneous.
I've made many REAL friends here via the chat.
me too :-)
aha -- nbt, lol!
nbt
wtg jmc, hah!

Today's interruption was nice, though, friendly weekly bridge with 3 good friends, got lucky today with a super hand, bid a small slam and made a grand one. Got the highest score :-)

night Jilli
I mean diz -- *repoof
yay, diz, it is certainly a weird word
Hi people.
Hi Neil
Hi Neil
Hi dizgrannie.
Hi flosey.
hi, Neil!
does anyone have a clue for fr7 please?
a worried guitarist perhaps ;)
Hi melon! :)
thanks melon, looking
How's it going?
Hey... see my December 12 update, melon.
Hi, all! Usually not here at this hour but had to call police re a domestic violence situation in my apt. complex, so now I'm awake!! Hey, neil, I used to live in LA area.
mostly good, tho tore some cartilage and am feeling quite cranky over it.
will do, Neil. brb
Oh no, melon. :( That must be so painful!
Hi MimiCat... and ugh. I've had to do that once too in another building I lived in.
thanks Melon, got them
Where in this area?
Brentwood, Marina Del Rey, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach. I really miss it. I've been in Phoenix most of the last 30 yrs....not "my people" here.
You're a diva, Neil? is there a video?
Haha. Not ME, melon. :P
So, neil, I gather from the chog you're a musician? Until 3 yrs. ago I still sang with a classic rock band.
I'm just being dragged on there by tomorrow's host, who thought that was a good idea for some reason. :P I'm not so sure! Haha.
Not really, Mimicat... other than playing piano but strictly for my own enjoyment. I had piano lessons growing up.
I've never been a professional musician in any capacity or performed for anyone, other than family and friends in private. Oh and piano recitals. :P
yeah, horrid. I tore a ligament in L ankle, dawdled about seeing a doc, threw out my gait, hurting R hip. Considering I used to walk everywhere and go salsa dancing, I'm feeling awfully confined. Hip hurts like made, PT and water exercise don't seem to help. Oddly, I can still bicycle 10 or 15 miles every other day, or maybe not so odd since cycling doesn't bear weight, and improves my range of motion. I can't jump, run, or even take the stairs more than one flight. Awful. OK, I'm done boohooing.
I studied piano for 6 years in my youth. I'm classically trained in voice but know my former voice coach rolls over in her grave when I rock out to Heart and Pat Benatar!!
I know how you feel, mel....I had a heart attack earlier this year and am less active than I'm used to being also. Getting old isn't for sissies!!
speaking of music, I played a little jazz bass this evening. Our synagogue had a jazz night, and someone let me play their bass. I had never played with an amplifier before, now I've got a gift idea for myself...
There you go, mel!! Rock it on out!
Oh, Mimi, heart attack so much scarier. I am scared tho, that I won't get my level of activity back. I'm too young to be thinking hip replacement (58), aren't I?
another useful hobby, while being enjoyable too
hey melon, mimi, flosey...Neil...GT??
It is possibly a labral tear, the labrum being the cartilage that lines the hip socket. Onset was rather sudden, tho i had some odd mobility issues without pain earlier this year.
hi, grannyrose.
Mimi, check email.
flosey, did you get the fr7?
Can't say I'm a fan of those replacement surgeries...haven't heard anything good about the aftermath. You'll get your activity level back.
hey peach
You play bass, melon? Electric bass?
I did rock it out Mimi. Now i'm hitting the hay. Nite, all! {poof}
Hey there, rose.
must get to bed, should be time to finish up tomorrow
You want to see/hear the most incredible jazz/funk bass EVER? Wow... get a load of THIS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=\nsPR7mq9YWZA
night flosey, hope you sleep well, hun
flosey, fr7 is one who fr4-7.
Or this, even: http://tinyurl.com/cnaj4yu
[makes mental note to shorten Youtube links]
Oh and in case you didn't see it Mimi, check email?
Just answered email, neil.
Oh ok. Checking.
Didn't get any reply Mimi?
I'll send it again.
Ok thanks.
May I please have a clue for gr5-24? Thanks
peach, gr5, start with a 144 of something, end with high scoring tile
Thanks so much, rose.
np's peach
Ok Mimi... check email again.
[got and responded to yours]
May I please have a clue for fo5-18 the 1st? Thanks
A wind, Peach.
peach, fo5, fo + *it*er/ or + single hump
ugh
hey hurshy and sue
hey
Hi Rose (and Hurshy, of course)
i'm having that whole, 3 AM can't sleep because somebody shot 20 first graders on friday, thing
retro
Oh, sorry - now you know why I don't say much in chat.
awwww, hurshy, i'm so sorry. it has to be hell on you guys and gals.
i guess it's hell on anybody who thinks about it too much
It is. We've had something similar in the UK - Dunblane - and I don't know that ou ever get through it.
sue - i'm sorry, i don't at all want to make you feel like there is any reason not to say much in chat!
Hi again - hurshy, as Rose said, so sorry for you and everyone. There can't be many people not affected :(
read the newspapers today with quotes from children and teachers. broke my heart.
I remember Dunblane very clearly - I was teaching in England then.
Oh, no, Hurshy - that wasn't what I meant. I said A Word.
oh ok :)
As someone said earlier - the chat is part of the fun of this site. People are very friendly :)
ho6, that's an apt word for right now
And te6, too.
yeah
Thanks, Sue and Rose.....I'm just too tired to finish now.
Sleep well peach :)
Yes it's such a cruel, senseless tragedy. :(
Hi Lizlin.
Hi Neil - btw, Liz is fine!
Oh ok Liz. :)
I like your bouncing Tigger avatar. :) Cute.
Love Tigger! Original though, not Disney!
Though like Disney too!
After the news yesterday, I went into a depressed state.....wasn't able to sleep until 8:00AM . I think everyone knows about the crazy people out there.....it is so tough on the poor relatives. We do need to pray or send energy to them. Nite y'all.
Hope you sleep tonight Peach :)
Thanks, Lizlin.
night peach. hope you are able to sleep, hun
ty for the gr 5 GR (not writing your name this time!)
lol, i know, strange how many times my name ends up in the grid. by rights i should be in the PB just for being here.
Any movement on that kitchen of yours?
nah, not this side of christmas anyway. going to give him something easy to do next...have to keep his ego intact...
Would've been a nice chrissy prissy!
pressy
yeah...would have. will be satisfied when the bathroom is finally finished.
:)
BBL - have a good evening. Night Neil :)
so what do the 8's start with?
or 8 and fr 7 / 8
Haha Rose and yes, you should be.
My name has been in the grid a few times too, although unlike yours, of course mine doesn't work.
ty got the fr's
is the or weird?
Dont have the or 8 but someone said it had the same start as or 5 /12
Really going now - sleep well hurshy :)
ooh goody i was thinking right direction
got it
thanks liz, night
hurshy, start with a bone specialist, end with emergency call with a different vowel in the middle
well i'm done so i guess i'll see if i can get back to sleep. night all.
night, hurshy, hope you can sleep, hun
okay, no-one in chog. will go away then. have fun my fellow babblers.
Can't sleep...anyone else on to chat?
I've just come on Jilly
Hello jivingjenny...thanks
whereabouts are you and what time is it?
USA-Montana and it's almost 3 am... *sigh*... how about you?
Oxford, England and it's 10a.m. time for morning tea!
Have a cup on me!
I'm on my own this morning and am enjoying the quiet
LOL...I am sitting here babbling and watching Dr Who...
Dr. Who will certainly help you sleep - not. My granddaughter aged 10 is a huge fan of Dr. Who and has managed to collect quite a few autographs and pictures of the cast members
This is an repeat from 2011...
I stopped watching in during the series that the Daleks first appeared!!
It's a bit freaky...I watched in the 70's...quite a difference
I love your picture of the Advent candles. I miss going to Church, but I am not well enough at the moment. My daughter runs the Sunday School and is very committed to the Youth Ministry.
Wow, I lead the high school youth ministry here...I am sorry you are ill ((hugs))
When Caroline started going to our Church, there were 6 children on the register for Sunday School and now there are 20+.
That's wonderful. Anglican or Catholic?
Anglican
Catholic here, but hey, we're kissing cousins. Actually my oldest is Episcopalian...he calls it Catholic lite.
I had a Pulmonary Embollism and was rushed into hospita when I lcollapse - it was touch and go for a bit, but I am home and really well again now, but just frustrated that I can't seem to get that last bit better and be completely well.
Will keep you in my prayers...as for now, feeling a bit sleepy, may head to the pillows again. Very nice to meet you jivingjenny! Hope to run into you again!
good-night Jilly
Morning, All..Phantom: Thief.
Oh well..looks like i will join the other stealth babblers...lol..diving in *splash*
Nice avatar, Jillyjill. Chag Hanukkah sameach! :)
Oops. Guess she's gone now.
Oh well just came to log off and head to bed. Big day tomorrow... good night to anyone still here.
And up for air..first round done found 116..time for a bite to eat and a hot cup of tea.
Ok time for round two...going in people..don`t try and stop me now....*Splash*
Zooz...Warrior Babble Player
LOL..sorry, Molly was having a mad moment :-)
Don't apologize, I love mad moments. : )
HI Molly and zooz :)
Hello, Lizlin :-)
ahh found one of the 8 letter words..at last.
yay, zooz.. I have the fr8, which one did you find?
same one..lol
I have both 8s if you want a clue :)
just the stats please, liz..for me
or 8 / 45
Thank you
Ah, found it, thanks Liz.
I love it when someone asks for stats, and stats is all they get. I don't understand why people give clues when stats are asked for.
yw :)
Liz, do you have the stats for the D's please?
It's simple if people read properly!
dr4,7 dr5,12
Dr 4/7 and Dr 5/12
oops..i was too slow..lol
Just started using list - gave in quite early today at about 55 left! Now down to 45 but not doing much more tonight
ty Liz and zooz, got them.
Just found the Or8...many thanks.
This is not an easy grid. I don't care what any of the Babble Geniuses say. : D
yw :)
I'm with you on that Molly
I am down to 14 more to find with no list yet.
Well done zooz, that's good going. I too am not finding this one very easy at all :)
Note i did say, Yet..lol
I am just under halfway and stuck
Although i hardley use the list...i do on the other hand spend many many hours in stealth mode playing...some people on here can finish the grid in less than half an hour..amazing.
I've no idea how they manage that! I'm in awe of that!
It seems like this game would not be much of a challenge to people who can whiz through it like that.
I guess that the longer you play, the more used you become to some of the words and tracking in all directions. I've only been playing since the end of August - am def better now than I was!
Same here, Liz..i noticed a babbler of the name of Michdick or something like that..finishes the grid in minutes..geez..it takes my brain ages to warm up first..lol
Me too - I see very little at first but then gradually I see more and more.
If i do list..i don`t mind missing the odd babblet..but when you see you have missed massive fish..i could almost swear in frustration..lol
I'm off for the evening - need to cool down! About 22 C this evening (it's 10.30 now). Back to finish tomorrow! Good luck with the grid :)
Take care, Lizlin..nice talking to you.
Bye Liz
:) Bye all
I'm not sure I could even type 150 words in 4 minutes. : D
Well i know i can`t..but there are some very fast typists out there.
I know a legal secretary who types 95 words per minute. That is the fastest I know, personally. I can do 60 on a good day.
Could I get a clue for or8, please?
I think sixty is very good, Molly..i am no where near that..lol
felo
or8...beginning of braces doctor + red ro*** for a blue lady
sorry
I work with someone who brags about 60 words per minute with two fingers, but his typing is full of typos, so no one believes him.
OR + a letter + what you use to water the garden plural
thanks Molly and zoo got it
any clue for the gr5?
EWWW! That's gr***! But use the high point tile at the end
gr5 starts like a word for something really icky and ends in high point til\
gm, everyone.
ty, bzzz and molly
Morning LBD
Morning all. YW, dawg.
And OF COURSE...the gr5 is foreign currency.
Hello
good day to y'all, Babblers
Hey, BR and sprite.
hi BR and sprite
tadone!! finito!!
Nice work, dawg.
Congrats, lbd
hey BabbleRabble, good to see you. Tim and I had a talk yesterday and he finally broke down, cried and told me all that was eating him up. We have not solved all his problems, of course, but at least they are in the open now and he feels we have his back.
hello everyone and congrats dawg :)
hi Bea :) hi Annie and wtg dawg!
ty, bzzz. i'd still be sifting the gr letters w/o you and molly's help
morning, annie! ty
Good to hear, sprite. Progress is wonderful.
Hello, Annie

(((sprite))) and ((TIM)). not an easy step to take, but glad he's opening up to you.
thanks dawg :) Yes, this will make a difference. He is a brave one.
any clues wanted or needed before i head off to the maniacal baking i have in store?
:D I am good, thanks. Have fun with the baking!
ttfn...i'll be back when i can't stand the smell of sugar any longer!
hehehe... it sounds very good. Enjoy.
*wonders if every grid for the next two weeks will have no4/4 in it*
sr
dont mind me
*hugs Annie*
((hugs)) back, sprite
:)
one of those grids where you start wondering how there can be anymore words
I have found throughout my Babble years when carlee would say a grid is difficult I found it the opposite and vice versa. Today is the same. Babblers are saying this is a difficult grid and I am finding it to be a medium easy.
It is when babblers say a grid it easy, I know I am in trouble.
it is very personal, that is true. I have struggled through grids where most Babblers were flying through.
it's full of te7 and ho7 for me
hi dan2 :)
lol dan, and hi :)
morning all!
I found the fr8. Could I please have the stats of the other 8?

I hope things will be better for her and I hope she is appreciated more.
It is 9 AM here and I am getting an early start to my day which is what I need. Bye sprite and everyone. Have a great day
that would be very good. And maybe it will have done her good to get a breather from home and a bit of distance, so it will be easier to relativate.
bye Annie, have a wonderful day *hug*
yay, killed the Rs. Now for the Ss.

Suddenly, everyone has become Peri : D
hello. Is anybody home?
Hello, Ruby..how was your stay in london?
it was grand, but I came home a day early because the wheels were coming off at home and husband couldn't cope
Oh dear..sorry to hear that...hope everything is now ok...sad you could not enjoy your stay to the full though.
I really love London but find it somewhat overwhelming, having become a country person
Darn it Ruby, I'm sorry you had to cut your trip short.
Yes i know what you mean..i lived there for a while myself...not for me.
it was OK molly,; I had two great days, lots of time hanging out with the family and attended the great party but then felt it wasn't fair to spend another day just hanging out while husband suffered. It only cost an extra ticket etc.....
and I took cabs -- felt like a princess
Why was your husband suffering?
he couldn't get anything to work: TV, stove, etc. and I still haven't been able to figure out what he did to the television. Will have to have a repairman tomorrow
hi all, got a neat pair of boots to wear with my skinny jeans for 40% off and I have 2 $10.00 here at home. If I bring them in they will take $20 more off of the price!!
2 $10 coupons that is
sounds good, peri!
I bought them in black. wish I had seen them in brown as well. maybe in another store
thole
sorry
hi there ruby, glad you had fun but sorry you had to come home a day early
ty ruby, did not have tht one
it was great anyway and the guilt would have killed the last day, anyway
that guilt thing, I understand
for me to be hanging out, eating snacks with my nephews and playing babblye with Shadow while he can't get anything to work, didn't seem fair
does he get them to work when you are home, or do you do most everything at home
<-- does everything
just wondering if it was a ploy to get you back
ah, I understand now
no, he was truly surprised. I don't think he has that much guile in him
and he really wanted me to have fun
ok
SOUNDS ;ole walter ruby........ tho he DID make himself a cup of coffee once.... i think it was about 20 years ago
yes, he knows how to work the coffee machine, but didn't empty the used capsules
by tomorrow he would've been SOL

For those who don't need fattening up, like me

I need a Jewish mother, mine is long goen but she never fattened me up
I know two boys who will be ecstatic when he leaves the building, Marco & Polo
I have three of my own Ruby. They are all alike. : )
my dogs were excited for about 5 minutes when I came home but then it was "yawn, she's back....."
(husband, too) he was really grateful for an hour
are they males?
The caretaking sort are usually under appreciated and taken for granted. Sad.

Just getting to them.

that is awesome Sue
for a while her Facebook picture was herself in Kiss makeup. It was pretty amazing :-)
lol
One of those things they don't recommend if you are job hunting : D
at her age, I don't think she has to worry about that :-)
And that is why I said "if" : )
lol true. I don't want my banker to look like Axel Rose, but he sure looks good on stage
yes.. not sure I'd want a person in care of my money to have a heroin habit and be an alcoholic gramma

he would of sent her a wire via western union..lol,poor ole fella.too used to ruby doing for him
the hotel sent him an e-mail and I had to forfeit a night's hotel room and my rreturn ticket and buy a new one. Spent a fortune on taxis, my Chrisdtmas present to me.

I think it's all the years he had a company and secretaries to do his bidding
oh dear, ruby!

he had never written a cvheck untio we moved here and now tends to either not pay bills or pay them twice
it's OK; I felt too guilty to stay away the 3rd day but I had great quality time with my nephew , his wife and their sons and was introduced as Mark's fancy aunt from France. Nice
He must of been a bear to work for!!
I worked for him and he gave me free rein to create my complicated, autonomous part of the company
of course, he will never admit that I was paid less than men at comparable levels
what business was it?

{{hugs everybody}} it's nice to be home
We had a very hungry heron, which depleted our pond - often - when we lived in England!
Glad you had a great time with your nephew
this one only ate one a t a time and I didn't begrudge him as he was so beautiful
well, then go the other way..keep pet herons;)
I also loved ours. He'd sit on the wall and stare at the goldfish! But it was sad to come home and find a more or less empty pond!
hmm pet herons.....
what kind was he?
when life give your lemons,a roast heron on christmas will make thing better:)
we get blue herons here
has anyone heard of a "geai"? It's as big as a crow and multi-colored, gorgeous, and I saw my first one last Wed in the driveway eating with the little birds
A blue heron
these are grey and white, crested, and with blue, black and white bands on their shoulders (the herons, that is)
they call them heron cendrier
Never heard of a geai. Sounds beautiful
I'm sure that in Australia you have lots of spectacular birds, here, not so much so this one was a treat
I had better get the dogs in our of the rain
good night, friends

Good night Ruby. Sleep well :)
Awesome birds - counted 37 diff breeds we've seen from our garden.
night, ruby!
lizlin, do you do passive bird watcvhing, where you put the feeder close to a window and you can watch the birds really close up without scaring them
{{sue}}
it's fun, having kept a life list in the US and then seeing all these different birds here
I keep my bird book by the window
wish you were here ruby..
clue for the or8 pls?
me, too, crossy
we have 2 rare nesting pair of a variety of pip[ing plover
they are protected and we closed 2 miles of beach for them
but I would want to go fishing where you are
do you have seasonal whales?
Sorry - went to check the post. Yes we have a bird feeder - cockatoos, corollas, lorikeets. rosellas and pigeons use it. We also hand feed pied butcher birds and australian magpies.
i five minutes i could have you fishing for lake trout, salmon, brown troul and splake
no ruby, our bay is fresh water
Mary - the or 8 builds on the or 5
though very very large,it is not part of any ocean
wow, handfeeding!!! I would love that.
You probably remember Ruby, that we whale watch for 6 months in winter - southern humpbacks.
The closest I've come is hand-rescuing when they come into the house
We love it too - husband photographs them more than I do.
maybe someday, when I'm even older, I'll get to travel that far!
We've "rescued" a pied cormorant, which more or less knocked on our door asking for help and also a lorikeet. Took them both to the vet.
I've had no success photographing birds
I hope you do make it :)
I only rescued a hawk but he wasn't injured, just making a poopy mess in the living room but let me carry him outside
MIne aren't brilliant. I only have a point and shoot, though do get some good shots. Hubby has a much better camera - SLR etc.
I'm only good and photographing dogs
We have 2 cockatoos that have decided it's fun to stand on our bedroom windowsill in the morning and tap on the window insistently until we feed them!
