7 years a long time between vacations, hun. you must be worn out.

What is wrong with your fingers?
Doc has ruled out B12 deficiency and diabetes. Going again tomorrow as they ar getting worse. Just woke up one morning with numb finger tips, now gone down to midle of fingers

hi everyone
Hello, welki.
howdy,welki
So, who here is masquerading as a false identity so I know who to say hello to?
not me.. hi everyone
<---Not really me
Then a h***** good morning.
<-----me, hello everyone
Annie, tell me the elec. is all fixed in your building? (crossing fingers)
Morning, Kap. Hope your today is better than yesterday for you.
Aloy, Yes! I can tell you that with happiness
Thank you. So far so good.
Hallelujah!! Great News!
Im sorry you had a bad day yesterday, Kaplan
Haven't ventured out yet.
Kaplan, are you in Boston?
Yes I am.
I hven't felt like celebrating.
Oh dear, what an ordeal.
hi all
hi mael
Shelter-in-place they called it.
I will be getting my yogurt on Norfolk St tomorrow.
you in boston proper, Kaplan?
I was glued to the TV for 2 days
They have the best strawberry frozen yogurt. Iam in Somerville. Cambridge and Watertown are daily routes.
I'm in Somerville too!
Really? Where?
Davis square, you?
Davis Sq.
wow, that's neat :)
The Paris of the 90's.
*Waiting to find out they are next door neighbors*
Are you coming to Open Studios?
My thoughts too, Molly.
Should we be more specific?
probably, if I'm not traveling for work!
Did you know my cat Bebe?
I'm very close to the post office, if that's specific enough
Two Parasites : D
;)
I'm up College Ave a bit.
I went to tufts, so I walked college ave every day for years
Must bzz...pfft.
I live near Powderhouse.
Where do you get your coffee?
I spy Oprah
ooh, trick question, Kaplan. Starbucks, because I don't really like Diesel's coffee
Ahhh!
You did not live here in the days of the fabled Someday Cafe.
I did, for a very brief period
I was one of the mourners.
I moved to Davis the year they closed. I liked Someday Cafe and they're rather ratty couches :)
their, not they're
I'm awake, I promise
The guy who bought it ran it int the ground. But I went there every day since it opened, practically. Dt have coffee out much anymore.
All the bars in Davis were open on Sehlter-in-place day. But so were the foyo places.
I am having keyboard trouble too.
froyo.
We're a tough bunch. I flew back to Logan that afternoon and went to Red Bones for dinner. They had a limited menu but they were open
did you hear that they are opening a pinkberry too? So it will be 4 places to get froyo in the square
The MITcop was from the hood, and Krystal Campbell was Medford/Somerville/Arlington.
hi all. clues for the 8s please?
Really?
All these communities around Boston are in very close proximity.
yeah, I am very very luck that no one I know was hurt, but many of our friends run the marathon every year, my sister in law is a nurse at mgh. It wa rough.
Do you go to Healthworks?
I used to, I go to BSC now because I'm too lazy to walk to porter to go to the gym :)
I realized that I had PTSD when I started crying in aerobics.
I am sorry, Kaplan. Very sorry.
Better now. I felt so silly.
We live in a great area.
don't ever feel silly about it. You feel what you feel, I was incredibly shaken up too, despite the fact that it touched me oh so tangentially. Every time I see that sidewalk on Boylston I think of all the times I've walked it.
we do, it's a wonderful, wonderful area. I feel very lucky.
my daughter #2 was born at the Boston Lying In
and Little Brown on Beacon St published four--maybe 6--of my books
any clue for the tu7?
It's proudy diverse and when there are tensions, the community actually works on it. I have never seen such an active community as Somerville.
TU7 is an extra in licketys list it does not exist.
thanks zooz
Though I am a New Yorker by roots, I have lived in Beantown for a long long time.
so only 167 words today?
Correct.
then, I have fireworks without the noise and the joy...lol
I was very proud of Boston this week, it made me realize just how much it has become my home. I moved here 8 years ago, and I don't think i'll ever leave
Teehee..Congrats to you., Ouwachita!
mael, kaplan.it is good to see you sharing this.it is how you can heal.:)
:)
((boston))
anyone need a clue before I go?
Love that dirty water.
((crossy)) :)
and the red sox are winning too, things are looking up ;)
i know that song
Know kids from Rindge and Latin who were classmates.
I wonder if the Yankees will throw a few games to the Sx?
As Nora Ephron wrote "In fact, I didn't have a clue until I was 50."
good, that means one more year and i will know what i am doing.problem is that once you finally have it all figured out,no one listens to you anymore
Which she also said something like- it sucks to get old, you get all this wisdom around the time your disk starts to empty, so it's kind of a wash.
but then you get to pass that wisdom down onto others
which must mean than when i am 90 will have forgotten everything except how to do 5000 magic tricks with a bit of strin
string
which will still be worthwhile, crossy.
:))
it is funny what is deemed worthwhile and precious.i lost my mother early in life and i have 2 simple things to remember her by. a game played with sewing thread and a button and the skill of being able to knit.funny eh?.this just made me think of that
there is nothing else but a few pictures in a box
well enough of that crap.we need some uplifting in here.i should break out my dirty limericks
dirty limericks always help
Good day to all. Very sunny here but we have a fresh layer of snow on the trees and ground.
Hello, Scrabs :-)
bloody fun game
Welcome, jwm. Yes, we are addicted.
How about some blonde jokes, crossy? I have TONS!
zooz, is the London Marathon over?
No it will be going for a few more hours..for the in experienced runners.
I can't seem to stop,so I know what you mean.Good why to keep a mind occupied
How can you tell if someone has a blonde secretary? By the liquid paper on the computer screen. And hello to everyone!
are you running the marathon zooz?
I find it meditative, and sometimes maddening, to find words, and I enjoy chatting with friends all over the world.
Haha Mimi
Yes, with an iPad, Ruru.
No.i have been watching it on the TV..i ued to do runs for charities.but not anymore, RURU.
ah
Hello, Mimi.
Remember Polish jokes? I hesitate to tell them, though, for fear of offending. But my favorite is: Why is there no ice in Poland? The guy with the recipe died.
((zoo))
Haha
anyone near stettler AB?
((Scrabbler))
I hope English Security is better than Boston Security at the finish line today zooz
It all seems to be going very well, RURu..and it is wonderful to see so many people with we support boston t-shirts on.
Boston sorry.
I think it is impossible to prevent many of these things. No matter how hard they try, you can't watch every single person every single moment.
Once a blond went into a public library and asked the librarian for a cheeseburger, fries, and Pepsi. The librarian scolded her, "Do you realize where you are?" So the blond whispered, "I would like a cheeseburger, fries and a Pepsi."
That is a nice sign of solidarity Zoom.
I thought so too, Molly :-)
LOL, Scrab. A guy went camping and was walking around looking for a place to get supplies. He saw a little store on the other side of a lake but saw no way to get there. A blonde came out of the store and he yelled at her "How do you get to the other side?" She replied "You're already on the other side."
Haha.
I wonder how many people in London were apprehensive today. I would have been.
Yes, any large gathering of people = target.
And the worry of copycats.
I am sure many were.
This is how I view life/death. When it's my turn to go, God knows where to find me and if it's not my time, no way am I going. So control is an illusion.
any brunette ones
rest
ok mimi :a blonde i know was tired of her hair and dyed it brunette and to celebrate she went for a drive in the country and on the way she saw a flock of sheep and an old farmer herding them in a field.on a sudden impulse she stopped and walked over to where the farmer was leaning by the fence looking out over his heard and she said "excuse me,i love sheep and have always wanted one.i i can guess the exact number of sheep you have roaming around out there can i take one home with me?" the farmer being a sporting fella said "sure,go right ahead" the woman took 3 seconds and said "to hundred and six" the farmer was stunned as this was the correct figure and true to his word he opened the gate and let the woman pick one to bring back to her car. as she was doing this the farmer stopped her and said "if i can guess the real colour of your hair can i have my sheep dog back?"
No brunette jokes because we're just too smart!
Haha!
Great joke, Crossy. I must remember that one.
:)
Funny, crossy!
yes,brunettes are amazing
I am a brunette with grey highlights. Salt & pepper head for me.
brunettes are perfect
i'm marrying a brunette very soon myself
For a grid this size I am struggling to find words. 108 hiding.
A plane is flying cross-country when the captain comes on the intercom and says "I must tell you we've lost an engine. But don't worry...we still have 3 more and will be fine. We'll just be about 20 minutes late." After awhile longer he again says "Folks, we've lost another engine. But we'll be fine...just will be about an hour later." Incredibly, awhile later he again says "I can't believe this but we've lost engine #3. We can still make it but will be a couple of hours late." A blonde turns to the guy sitting next to her and says "I hope we don't lose the 4th engine or we'll be up here all night."
it is not an easy one scrabby
hehe
Haha
I actually have auburn hair--again--after deciding gray is not for me. Dark red hair, blue eyes, freckles, pale skin---I am SOOO Irish!
You do know that God created whiskey so the Irish wouldn't take over the world!
how can i possibly have 132 more words to go?
I dyed my greying hair for 1 year, starting at age 38, then decided to stop. My greying hair = my symbol of wisdom.
Scrab, I'd trade all this wisdom in a minute to be young, cute, perky and stupid again!
and to make up for my blonde joke, here is one for those of you who happen to be blonde....
do women prefer blonde men?or dark hair?
There was a blonde who was sitting next to a lawyer on an airplane. The lawyer was naturally bored, so he kept bugging the blonde to play a game of intelligence with him. The blonde was reluctant, so the lawyer offered her 10 to 1 odds. He told her that every time she could not answer his question, she owed him $5, but every time he could not answer hers, he'd give her $50. The lawyer figured the blonde was so dumb, he could not lose, and the blonde thought for a few minutes and reluctantly accepted to play his game. The lawyer fires his first question "What is the distance between the Earth and the nearest star?" Without saying a word the blonde handed him $5. The blonde then asked the lawyer "What goes up a hill with 3 legs and comes back down the hill with 4 legs?" The lawyer's face looked extremely puzzled. He spent several hours, looking up everything he could on his laptop and even placing numerous air-to-ground phone calls trying to figure out the answer. Finally, the angry and frustrated lawyer handed the blonde $50.00. The blonde put the $50 into her purse quickly without saying a word. The lawyer was outraged at this point and asked, "Well, what is answer?" The blonde glanced at him with a smirk on her face and handed him a $5 bill.
You've got that right Scrabs. You are in the wise woman phase of the Feminine Triangle.
I am 49 & just starting to get a few grey hairs coming through :-(
Now that I've lost my looks, I must settle for being colorful.
Zoo, you're just a BABY!!
Not me, Mimi. My 40's were my best decade ever, and my 50's are wonderful too. I am 53.
lol, crossy
Cute, perky and stupid is highly over rated. Unless you are a man. : D
JWM, I don't think hair color matters much, actually. I always looked for a warmth in the eyes and a great smile.
it's my birthday tomorrow, I am going to be older and wiser :)
And well seasoned, Mael. Hope you have a nice birthday.
happy birthday eve!!
we do not need all of them to think, molly lol. prefer brunettes myself
I prefer tall, dark, hairy, handsome men. And intelligence, humor....still searching.
Buon compleanno MAel!
You need some of them to think?? Who knew : D
grazie, scrabbler! :)
perfection, scrabs :-)
you'll find him, too, they're out there :)
lol,you started it molls
Hope you have a great day, Mael :-)
size doesn't matter either I suppose?
I am not looking very hard for a guy. If it happens, it happens. Meanwhile I have a great life.
yaa for mael!!
I've stopped the search, Scrab....had lots of wonderful men in my life (and a couple of stinkers) but at 61 I've decided I'm done. Other things to do now and happy to be living alone.
JWM---popular myth about size.
I prefer men who look like men. I've never understood women who drool over effeminate men like Johnny Depp.
thanks, zoom and molly and all! :)
Truth be told, guys are more focused on size than women are.
ahh, molly, my husband's way prissier than I am but I love 'im anyway ;)
darn, now i'm too old to get a cougar
whew.. I'm glad I read that comment correctly Scrabs :D
: D
lol
I won't even tell you about a "size" experience I had a few years ago----so very sad.
morning all!
I almost chose another word, ruru
Teehee, Ru
Hi Sue and Frank
Thanks for not sharing Mimi
Hello, Sue :-)
noooo Novak's one game shy of defeating Rafa in Monte Carlo final!
After my divorce I went out with young men---they wouldn't leave me alone! I felt it was my obligation to go out with them as retribution for years of trophy wives.
hi zooz, scrabs, molly, mimi, crossy, une!
*Hands Une a cold cloth*
You're welcome, Molly!
{sue}
uh, oh, une
see you all tomorrow, heading out to enjoy the sunday sunshine :)
Ciao, Mael.
bye, mael!
Bye, Mael.
Come back for your birthday tomorrow, mael.
believe it or not,l-arginine seems to help with size.increases the blood flow down there, thus temporarily increasing size.not a major difference but definitely an improvement
what do the 8's start with?
I have none, hurshy.
Hello, Hurshy.i have a PE8
The guy I was talking about could use a gallon...poor baby. And he was 30 years younger than me...not fun. After all, I've already raised my kids and don't need another!
ooh just found a pe8, most of a babblet pe5.
Hi, hurshy!
got it, thanks hurshy!
much better grid than yesterday overall, 18 to go
Or as Sprite said erlier ..cryptic clue PE8 fruit exam hehe
Earlier*
Still cryptic to me

tx molly!
Fruit + another word for exam.
aha en6
en5
I could mostly pick up on that, jwm. Those were the days. People used to be shocked when I told my age but now they're not anymore. Thinking about saying I'm 80 so people will say "Wow, you really look great for your age."
TY. Neal Pe5 = member of Canadian band Rush
mimi LOL!!
lol, mimi, my stepmother used to do that, added 5 years to her age when people asked
crazy, 16 left, 2 8's and 5 7's in there!
I've always said that Neal is one of the best drummers in one of the worst bands. : D
Haha, Mimi. Good strategy.
age is just a number.I find that when i get to know someone, they get more beautiful each day
Speaking of bands, is anyone going to see Fleetwood Mac this year? I'm DYING to go.
po7, 8. an actor po8 a character.
Yeah, guess I have to settle for being beautiful on the inside now....great guts.
*Hears birds chirping at that Hallmark sentiment* ♥♥♥
Good morning, dahlinks!
Hi, Judi!
Hey Judi
Molly, you are too funny!
hi judi!
peart is in the grid.appropriate
TY, Hurshy
PB for you, jwm!
tx hursh
jwm, we frown on placing grid words into the chat log
PB = penalty box
And that is why Scrabs said Neal Pe5
JWM, I'll join you in the PB since I have "yens" to be there today!
Oy
if I had known?but i can't read minds.sorry
we all do it from time to time so we keep the penalty box stocked with goodies
But, jwm, we all do it, and going to the PB is a running joke. The PB has lots of beverages and food.
Hurshy just found a PO8
I'm bringing PF Chang spring rolls today....PARTY!!
It is a plural.
Oh sorry..just looked down the chog..you already have it..sorry.
Double time in the PB box for Mimi.
Hey, why do anything half way?!!
Well, friends, am departing until later. Have a great Sunday and hugs all around.
TO8 is the other one.
Hi, Im back to finish, I hope
Hi and bye, Annie!
Hello, Annie :-)
Bye Mimi and hello Annie & Bobby.
Bye, Mimi.
A clue for to8 please?
TO8 go on a guided to** + horse noise + plural.
Christopher Columbus went a long long jo*****, replace with to
Aha, I see it now. TY.
then plural
Time for chores. BBL. *POOF*
crossy tidbit of the day.if you need a quick zoom and back to view a specific portion of a page and do not need anything fancy just press and hold the windows jey and press the plus or minus sign on the numeric key pad on the right of your keyboard to quickly expand or retract the page
key
of course with google browser you just use cntrl and mouse wheel for same
Or if using an xbox like me just use the right trigger button to zoom in & left one to zoom out :-)
I knew that trick.

There remains much snow on the hills of the ski resort across the valley. It usually is gone by the first week of june.
using babble expert here for the first time in an age.having issues with signing in directly as i get two letter squares blacked out
new one for crossy:(
I haven't used Babble Expert in > 1 yr. Not since I gave up my compulsion to finish grids. I recall my early days when I would stay up til midnight to finish a grid before the flip at 1am my time.
i know.it actually feels odd playing in here, but have no choice for now
And back.
letters
acck!!..i mean welcome back zooz:))
Hi phaeton

One for memory?

crossy...the heart one is for your feminine side. ;)
Well that one for memory is not working then..lol
i am just messing with you
I had no idea you were , Crossy ;-)
actually i find most meds a pita(except for chemo meds which are a large pita but are the reason i am still here and eating bacon) :)
other week the doctor told me that each slice of bacon takes 6 minutes off of my life span and i said "well,i should of died in 1856 then"
They say that about smoking too & some people live in their ninties and have smoked most of their lives..not that i think smoking is a good idea..far from it.
i quit that in 2002.did the math.wife and i at a pack a day each were spending 12,160.00 every 2 years on smokes
Picture is good Phae. Description of picture still matches previous one though.
aww.our poor kitty has a cold!!
sneezing all over the place last day or 2:(( and he just snotted my keyboard..ewww
Think of the money you could save if you quit, Bacon, Crossy..lol
well,i have to draw the line somewhere, zooz
Oh great..now i have a nasty visual..while eating my kit-kat.

Yes, too much information : (
ok,we will save the sick kitty updates
Ijll let you work hat one out, Crossy.lol

bacon however marches on
sigh..i am sure there are words hidden in this grid somewhere...
I must admit..i love bacon.
Well i know there are 16 words hiding from me at the moment.
one day i will teach you my secret of a perfec bacon infused vodka, zooz
I am on call and just had a frantic mother with a "constipated" toddler. At least once every day/night on call I get a poop emergency.
:(
Sounds like you are having a crap time, Scrabs.
he5 = King He5 VII, then pluralize
It amazes me that parents are clueless as to what to do for constipation.
Kids are given such lousy diets, then have pooping issues and frantic, crying mamas
Yes there are lots of names in the grid today.
Clueless and unresourceful. Nobody seems to research info first. They just quickly call us rather than educate themselves.
Common sense: If you don't feed it fiber, it will not poop properly.
used to give my kid so much fiber he would almost fart dust;)
LOL
now,at 19,he just eats everything that is not nailed down:(
That goes for adults too. Little to no fiber in their diets, very little water and they are at a loss as to why they are constipated.
This particular kid, as with too many kids, is allowed to drink 40 oz of milk a day. Recipe for constipation.
I used to love in fact stil do love shredded wheat.
and some things that are...
i also love shredded wheat/wheatabix
Me too
try either with a bit of warm milk and a sprinkle of brown sugar..mmm
At 105/62 I am done. My nephew, his gf, and their 9 mo old baby are coming down for the day.
Agreed, Molly..my parents hardly eat any fibre in their diet.
i avoid oatmeal like the plague due to childhood trauma with it lol
We'll go into town for lunch, shopping, then I get to play with the baby.
What, crossy?
sound good scwabby
Take care, Scrabs..nice to speak to you.
Be well, everyone.
oh,we were fed the stuff every day,was alway a big vat of oatmeal burbling away on a back burner and you would have to cut yourself a slab of it
I must admit i am wondering what the truama was.
stuff was thick enough to stop a bullet
There sems to be a long lag when i post anything..sorry for the delay.
crossy was molested by wilfred brimley zooz
Eww does not sound too nice.
i also have a long post lag going
hahaha, RURU
i would almost think we have another jumbo icon pic hiding in here
I'd never eat oatmeal after that either
lol, good one ru.no bacon for you tomorrow, you get oatmeal
*buys crossy set of Cocoon movies *
actually i was more scarred by those orson wells commercials for wine
Ok going to list my last few..not found a word in 10 minutes.

Right. CR still exists, but C-vokia is now two separate countries. Just to be safe, we'd better stop allowing people to play Czechers, or eat Wheat Czecks!
Congrats, Mixi!

ty got it. did not even notice you had typed a word :)
y/w, Peri.
I was looking for another word for test :)
Jacula, do you play any of the bingo games on Fb?
to7 & plural 8 = competition, a slang word for it that sounds like a 'j' word for a road trip.
Peri - re the games... not really, only Slingo Bingo.
ty Jac.
a friend got me addicted to bingo. I play bingo bash, bingo blitz and zynga bingo
ou7 pls
ou7 - sounds like the opposite of to put something into.
ty Jac, odd word
It's to do with adding a page in book-binding I think, peri.

NM...The top answer to one's own question at Babble. : D
funny how that works...
How nice it would be if other answers came so quickly and simply.
Indeed.
What's up Sue? Are you still feeling fragile and unwell?
I'm feeling better, still slightly wobbly but the really nasty headache is gone
Frank continues to suffer digestive indignities; I plan to call the cancer center tomorrow to make sure we are doing the right things
if this continues until he's done (end of May) it will be rather tedious
It seems like digestive indignity has been the story of his life. Not fair.
It has indeed, and it really gets him down sometimes.
I give him lots of pep talks but it is still hard
As well meaning and loving as your pep talks are, he is the only one who can get his head in the right place. I'm sure that is not easy most days.
indeed it is not. I appreciate your understanding...
((suze!))
hi crossy!
One thing that helps me is to focus on what I want, not on what I don't want. That makes me realize that worry, fear and doubt all focus on what I don't want.
ah, interesting. He had a therapist who pointed out to him how negative his thinking (and speech) often was; maybe that will help too.
it can be tough, suze.near the end i had my focus narrowed down to a pinprick to drive myself through the last of the chemo
I can believe that, crossy!
and i needed tons of help form my wife just to cope with ordinary every day things
Hello everybody. ((((Sue))))). What a difficult place you & Frank are in right now. Mega good vibes crossing the Atlantic to both of you.
I can believe that too :-)
hi soodle! Thanks! It is always good to hear from you :-)
tell frank to keep his eyes on the prize as it were and not to let it all get him down
soodles:))
will do, crossy :-)
Hey Crossy! How cometh the travell plans?
wish i were to to offer frank what words i have to help him through
'Travel'!
I don't know if Frank is into writing or not, but journaling can help a lot. Nothing that you keep, just a free form sort of get it all out on paper or the computer screen kind of thing.
I'll suggest that too, molly - he's been a writer in the past (English lit major, journalist and editor)
they cometh slowly, soodles.but it is still viable for this summer/fall.we want to come in at dubblin.we wish our home base to be Trim and we wish to see the giants causeway amongst other things but other than that and wanting to fly a more comfortable business class,we are still working on things
business class is VERY nice - when I was flying internationally a lot I would get upgraded every once in a while
Hugely important, Molls. I wrote reams & reams when my (euphemism alert) domestic circumstances changed. I never saved any of it, or sent it anywhere, but it was cathartic.
with my artritis andsciatica i could nt be rammed into a seat in cattle class
A blank computer screen, ten or fifteen minutes in which you just purge everything in your heart and soul, then the DELETE button. It's very therapeutic.
yes, purging it all can be very good.what i did was work with the hospital talking with men just diagnosed with my first cancer and guiding them.that was very therapudic for me
I'll bet that was, crossy. There's a volunteer at our cancer center who's had cancer himself, too.
because as good as the oncologists are, they treat the cancer, they do not treat your life as you go through the fight
Oooooh! Business class! I flew to LA once, business class. I was born to be a Business Class sort of gal. Sadly, real life intervened..... :-(
could not afford first class so we compromised
early drafts of the epic voyage peg us at 2 weeks or so
we have yet to bomabrd trim hostels and b+b,s with price lists
crossy....i downloaded and joined folding, so does it run on it's own or do I turn it on when I am not using computer?
always click on the little icon on the bottom right of your screen for folding at home and make sure the counter is running.in the options you can set it for auto run or to do it manually
if not open it from your start/all programs
okay....thanks:)
I can't remember if I flagged the CNN story which put lil ole Trim as one of the top 10 places to visit which could change your child's life. I know you don't have a 'child' to take with you, but it was a mighty feather in Trim's cap! Up there with the Gallopagas Islands & the Grand Canyon!
our "wee one" is 19 years of age now
Its all utter baloney, of course, but the local politicians are getting great mileage out of the story!
<--- will have to go to Trim and see what is life-changing there!
Google CNN 10 places to change your child's life!
as long as it is different from here,it is good.nice to see different places
http://tinyurl.com/dyfjdku Place number 8...I think
Soodle can tell you what is life changing there, but it's not fit for this PG rated board. : P
really?oh my what anught stuff they doing in trim?
naughty
and i am but a hour and a half drive from the muskokas that are also on that list
Unable to divulge any info. You must visit & experience the.......experience!
we have north americas oldest passanger steamer the seguin which will tour you through the 30,000 islands
Molly, are you still here?
we plan on it,soodles, and with your permission will contact you in more detail as the day approaches for advice
hi folks, better late than never
Two hits for my area. The Chesapeake Bay and The Library Of Congress. : D
howdy,bichon
<Seriously must seek commission from the TrimTourist Board
lol,we already had it pinpointed even before you made the list
Hello (((Bich)))))
hi bichon!
Molly, back to an earlier conversation. I was wondering if you went to Peary High School, and if so, when did you graduate? I graduated in 1981
been busy this weekend, have a new foster Bichon, Ben
nice, bichon!
he's very cute, but timid
PH. Molls is 6. I don't believe she's graduated yet...... :-p
I did not go to Peary. I was a Catholic school girl who hung out with all the bad boys from Peary. : D
Actually, I still hang out with some of them.
Oh, OK. There were lots of bad boys from Peary! lol
are you still in the area then?
Yep
this is a must do for those who come and visit us here. http://www.realmuskoka.com/
I moved from Mo Co. to Fredneck so 20 years ago.
some 20 years ago...
Everybody moves to Fredneck. It's cheaper to live there. My kids (older two) live there.
that's exactly why we moved here.
Mo Co?
Montgomery county
oh...
In Oakland they'd call it Mo Fo Co.
:D
oh, well, that's not very nice. lol
<---has to do his own set up for jokes....
I liked it Ru. And there are parts of this county to which that would apply very well.
indeed.
hi ruru!
bit of a celestial tidbit for babblers: the lyrid meteor shower will be at it's peak tomorrow night so hope for a clear night to view the show
It's like Baltimore. People who want to impress never say they live in Baltimore. They identify by neighborhood. Like Roland Park (ritz area)
hi folks
hi peri
clear would be nice, unfortunately looks like it will be cloudy here
surry is not a word. I thought it was a carriage, like in "Oklahoma", with fringe on top
spelled surrey
almost in the grid but not quite :-)
when I was on earlier today Kaplan was astonished that teehee wasn't a word. (That was the time of the blonde jokes on the chat, but something else of interest but I forget what. The jokes began bcz something else was stressful, Crossy, was it, told quite a long one.
I guess there's a way of pulling up old chats, to find that other subject you were discussing--but I don't know how. I came on just now and missed what Sue was saying abt Frank, just the aftermath.
Click on the icon farthest to the right above the chat log. That lets you view "Entire chat log" from the time the grid flipped.
You have to go to Archives to view chats from previous days.
hi roundbarn, he's doing ok but chemo is getting very hard on him
It's hard to keep track of what is going on in chat when someone posts something of great length.
I just checked on your page and read your April 20. Thanks for the update. And thank you for the big dipper--Springfield has so much light we don't see many stars--but at my place in Vermont, the stars are wonderfully clear.
yw, roundbarn, we have a lot of light here too, being in town, but the cornfields are close if we want to get to dark places
Eek! Dark cornfields are the stuff of Stephen King stories. : O
hahaha, you should see the Halloween corn mazes around here, they really build on that
our farm was alway dark skyed--some of my happiest memories is trudging up the lane in the dark (too much snow for the car) and the brilliance of the night sky.
lovely image, roundbarn!
but molly--we have had at least one cornfield muder down here, a few years ago. So you're right, there. I think you need to know your area, these days.
partial lunar eclipse on Thursday
hi all
hi jmc!
All this lovely sky talk--but the sun is out, I'm leaving you people--whom I've come to enjoy--and going outside. so goodby, all. uuchurch today was on earth day.
For the most part, I find rural areas like cornfields beautiful. But I'm not sure I would be out and about in one at night. Due to my scaredy cat nature.
i just came back from a walk at the arboretum among the azaleas. . .and then planting salvia in my yard. . .i am ready for some indoor time
Thanks for the reminder RB. Everyone do something nice for Ma Earth tomorrow. : )
our local arboretum was badly impacted by floods, and is only just re-opening
here is what i think about rural v urban. . . bad things happen in both places but there is help closer in the city. . .
was salvia in yesterday's grid? I got saliva. Now I'm OUT!
i told two blonde jokes, one poking fun at blondes and the other with blondes showing people who was boss.sorry about the length of them
Thanks to Miley Cyrus, it's better to refer to salvia as white sage. : D
but it
but its red. . . ????
ok, I remember now what the other conversation was, it wasn't really stressful--but Kaplan and Mael discovered they lived on the SAME street. It was fun to just keep watching their exchanges. Crossy, your jokes were fine.
Another kind of salvia.
cool are they going to meet up?
yes,it was nice for 2 babblers to connect like that especially so they could share and overcome what went on there
i know kap was shook up
It seemed heading that way--they got talking about coffee places--what did you think, Crossy?
i think it was great and i think they planned on a nice get together
<===big fan of meet ups
No, really? I'm shocked. : P
hehehehhehe
i plan to meet uusue some time--she's just off my flight pattern. If any of you come to see Lincoln stuff, let me know.
nbt
I will let you know if i am in the woods RB. . . .
JMC is the Babble Meet Up Queen, RB. Look for her in a neighborhood near you!
the thing abt the chat box is, people seem to pay little attention to the grid. I like it when someone accidentally puts in a grid word.
haha! I loves meeting babblers. . . I has forgot how many i have met!
any any babbler is welcome for a nice crossy canadian north woods breakfast :)
if the canadian government didn't always harass me at the border i would come up crossy....
Actually, I should say that Sue and JMC are neck and neck for Babble Meet Up Queen. Sue did quite a bit of "meeting" last year.
but it would have to be in august or i would friz to death
lol,you were a wild one in the past, jmc?
and we met each other. . .
not really. . .except for that drug running period. . . .
*Laughs at the idea of JMC in Canadian winter*
well, that can follow someone for a bit
i have been in iowa in january i have you know molls!
our "winters" are a shadow of what they used to be.you would be fine ,jmc
of course i am always offended when the temp is one digit or less!
No she would not. She freezes when it is 50 degrees here.
heck,it only dropped below minus 20 a few times
not true molls i am warm today in it is 55
now I really am leaving. there was a new woman in church today, the uu's--she is here in town ghostwriting--I bet for a legislator. she'll be here 6 months.
and i did watch people cross country ski across lake louise
Okay fine, she is dragging around quilt blankies when it is 40 then. : P
right now ,jmc it is bright and sunny and a beautiful 5 celcius or 41 american
haha now that is true!
Note: Canadians think 40F is summertime temperature.
;) almost time to take the cover off the pool:)
actually i had no trouble crossing the canadian boarder to visit my sister in calgary until 1977 when i was held for an hour. . .
they faint at 80 degrees molls
anything over 80f and i am a wreck heat rash from head to toe.finished
so you need to visit DC in December crossy
Oh I know. It's all "I can't breathe and I'm so sweaty and why don't Canadians have air conditioning!!!!"
*waves goodbye to roundbarn*
the a/c goes on when it gets over 75f and does not go off till october lol
although i remember a christmas or two in the mid to high 70s
bye RB
bought my very first house a/c unit just last summer
i have a/c for my guest room. . . i don't use them myself. . .
Frank is often cold these days, so has the heat in the house cranked way up; I am sweating most of the time
we do not usually have them because untill last 10 years or so,they would only be used a handfull of times in the summer and was a waste of money
poor frank we should get him one of those blanket snuggly things
Mind you, it gets over 100 degrees here in the summer at times. There is no way I could do without air conditioning.
suze, when i was on the cisplatin,i was frozen all the time
are they keeping tabs on franks immune system?
he's not on that yet, crossy, hopefully he won't need to be
because mine crashed and i had to get blood transfusions and shots/meds
yes, they check all his blood chemistry every week
i wash my feet and tu4/5 on the fan and I am fine. . .
they have a shot called neulasta that brings his white blood count right back up, it's new apparently
nice.my white count was a ruin
that sounds like a great improvement!
i bet it came from the AIDs research. . .
i had to go round wearing a mask in public
That's good JMC. The rest of us are sweltering while you have cool feet and a warm fan breeze. : P
it costs several thousand dollars per shot but I guess his insurance is covering it
good, good.mine was 400/shot covered under provincial health care
then his magnesium has been getting out of whack so they give him supplemental Mg most weeks, sometimes he has to go back in for more
you lie. . . you aren't sweltering . . . you are bringing about climate change while you have to put on a sweater in august because of the a/c! :-P
Also, they frown on foot washing at my place of business. : D
tell frank to hang in there.crossy is in his corner
last week he was dehydrated too (from the runs) so they gave him hydration too
well that i can understand molls
lol.nope.we get that from the coal generating stations
you generate coal?
yes, hydration is the key.because everything is getting purged
Yes, that is me. Responsible for global warming, the kidnapping of the Lindbergh baby, the shots fired from the grassy knoll and the downfall of Babble. Ta Da!!!
no,the coal fired electric plants silly
seems canadians in sweaters in august are the culprit ,molly
good to know who you are molls. . . hahah
exactly, crosy!
well then if you are using electricity for a/c. . . . .
blame canada! eh?
I wouldn't want anyone thinking I was NancyBoy 2.0.
(but i didn't think you were old enough to have kidnapped the baby)
we also use it for lights and gasp! cooking
great song! blame canada!!
no, she *is* the baby, jmc
i use natural gas for cooking and have solar panels *straightens halo*
the kennedy magic bullet was from a box of ammo bout here.gasp!
do you pocket compost,jmc?
cosd said the only reason he was willing to have his pic with me at the meet up was so that people would know he was not nancyboy
Yes, it's true. I am really 82. : O
we are renting now, no more on-demand hot water heater or ceiling radiant heat panels
I compost in my back yard right here in the city!
wow molls you look young for your age!
we are still composing, though...
i hate my on demand hotwater heater i must say. . .
I have a Doran Gray mirror in my attic.
<===so green people thinks she's a leprechaun
lol,i ahve jimmy hoffa buried in my basement
*shudder* that book scared me more than any other one i ever read. . . .
I liked my on-demand heater, only trouble was it was a long way from anything so took hot water a long time to arrive. Once it finally did it never ran out, though
i have yet to experience the joys of on demand hot water systems
mine runs out for some fool reason. . .i think the guy who installed it screwed it up. . .
they need cleaning every now and then too
it has been this way since the getgo. . . the hvac guy who saved me from carbonmonoxide poisoning didn't like the way the hotwater heater was installed but i did have enough money to deal with it. . .
The problem with being environmentally correct (green is so trendy) is that it costs a lot more than most people can afford.
actually the solar panels are pretty affordable. . . you can have them installed and rent them. . .
<-- will do her bit for the environment later by tossing the cherry from her manhattan into the garden compost - hi, everyone!
hi welki!
and composting is free and so is recycling. . .
uhm .. nevermind. i'll eat it :)
I was just going to point out that composting is cheap
thata gilr welki!
you can still compost the stem, welki :-)
toss the stem (after you tie it into a know with your tongue)
I was referring to home stuff, like water heaters and solar panels.
well the ondemand water heater wasn't a lot more expensive than a regular one when i needed a regular one i just switched.. . .
a geothermal heat pump costs about twice what a regular heating and A/C system would, but pays for itself in 4-5 years
on the other hand i drive my car a lot. . . .so we all do different things. . .
Oh my god, is that cherry stem knot myth still being perpetuated?
I had a friend who lived in the next town over who put one in and said that if she put solar panels on her roof she could go completely off the grid
my solar with the tax credit and such will pay for itself in 4 years. . .
What- more myths?
myth? i used to do that all the time to impress the boys
ohhh i think you impressed them all right ;)
well it depends you have to pay extra for a battery set up uu
;-) i know i did. . .
my ex used to do that too (tie the cherry stem in a knot with his tongue)
I can't take it anymore.
now, THAT impresses me, sue *lol*
<----Did not need to do antics with cherry stems to impress the boys (brings out the big guns)
even more impressive for a guy to do it! haha
^5 jmc
what can't you take kap?
unfortunately it was about the only impressive thing about him
should i brew you a cup of tea? chamomile? (you're not asthmatic are you?)
pull up a stool, kap - what's wrong
yup, everyone is different as you say.we may run the a/c for all of july and august but our heat is on a lots less.my brother in henderson nevada has 2!! central a/cunits and burns through 1000 a month in electricity ro run them in that kind of heat
Sorry, but as a former bartender that cherry stem thing got old fast.
that cherry stem commercial make all the guys come to a grinding mesmerized halt lol
Nothing- I just don't understand.
i don't see a big difference between heating/cooling costs here or back east
as a cocktail waitress it got me extra tips. . .
Everyone has to do what is feasible for them, in terms of being environmentally positive.
its a silly day kap. . .
Heehee is so a word, and a necessaryone.
i would agree to more hehe
i have said it many times. . .
Well yeah, but you were a cocktail waitress who flashed your assets (see the "how I met my husband" story)
yeeha
i'm more of a wooohooo than a heeeheee gal
kap, I'm back for 2 minutes--I really liked listening to you and Mael this a.m. P.S, My yard has bloomed--blurebell,s trillium--the daffodils were killed by the sudden cold, though
i wasn't a cocktail waitress for that story molls
I have to find Mael. I can't believe she lives righ here.
our daffodils survived, roundbarn, wonder why?
I gotta go eat.
it is so good, you are that close, kaplan
i am off to do homework. . . .last paper. . . by all. . .115 left
bye jmc!
bye, jmc - have a good evening
and bye, kap!
I bet we have passed each other 1000 times.
Bye!
Men And What Mesmerizes Them...I could write a thesis on that. : D
isn't mael a psychologist, too?
easy,molly
Boobs are overrated.
Is she?
more of a tushy man myself
if she's who i think she is - but i'm old and decrepit - could be mistaken
Crap. She will out me to the professional community.
and you her - so you're safe
Yep- mutually assured deconstruction.
Bye again.
Wonders of the dangers of being outed as a player of Babble.
my name is crossy m and i am a babbler.
i'm going to make babble chat an assignment--what short stories can you get out of the box? I see hundreds. Bye, off to supper--I picked dandelion greens
Oh...nice try. There is no anonymity pledge here. Remember, Babbler is an anagram for Blabber.
*Laughing about the plethora of short stories one could write as a result of Babble chat*
Dropping in for some Sunday afternoon chat, and the elusive search for 43 more
hi mom
hello
how's it going today?
great. down to my last 39.
42 here...
close!
Yes. I would say 'race you to the finish', but I tend to be slow at this game
Hah. Me too.
I will concede now and save us both the stress
lol thanks.
just listed, and realized all the N words only have 4 letters
yes, easy to identify that way. But one of them still tripped me up. I am easily tripped.
missing 1 in each section...
and found them all!
yay!
amazing how easy it is to find words with the list - haha
yes. I definitely need Lickety's list.
Do you not use it, or not have access to it?
I use it when I can't find any more on my own.
I hit that about 5 words ago
I wouldn't be able to finish without it, I'm sure.
tgfl
I've only finished without Lickety a couple times
The other times only due to Lickety and clues in the chog - or I don't finish
Yep. Same here.
Either way, it's my way of relaxing and enjoying chat time
I am missing three n's, maybe I can find them if they're all 4 letters...
You are in luck! All the n words are four letters.
clue pls for the tu7/32?
got them all, yay
tu 7/32 is an extra word in Lickety's list.
cannot believe it took me that long to find the hawaiian goose:(
so there is no tu7 correct?
correct
ty and I spent so much time looking for it
no 7/32 anyways.i have yet to list so for all i know there may be other tu 7's
I don't understand how you make it
now I see
there are 2 other tu words
Hello everyone.
from licketys list there are 3 tu's but one is the 7 so only 2 at tu4/5 & tu5/12

Hi all :)
Hi Liz
Hi Liz. Enjoying your house to yourself? : )
Back to try to finish the last 15!
Absolutely, Molly! Just finished a very leisurely breakfast, sitting outside, watching the birds and enjoying the quiet!!
sounds like a wonderful way to have breakfast;)
No one to tend to or entertain except yourself. Nice.
Hi Crossy - yes it is. About 20C outside at 10 am!
we were 5c today and sunny.was nice, but still too early to move breakfast outside
i found Valerie Azlynn in the IMDB, is that her?
It's relaxing for sure and we were saying how nice it is to have the house to ourselves, with no guests expected! Lovely to have them here, but good when they're gone!
had to scrape the car this morning 8-(
You guys kind of went on overkill in the guest department. : )
But spring is on the way for you all :)
hallo
yup,was minus 6 at sunrise this morning here, gwen
I think it got down to 15 last night!
Harry! How did you survive the awful events of this week?
Hi Harry
still in CT, molly
hi liz
we did have 1 day last week when i opened windows and wore a light jacket, but then back to the winter routine
we're shopping for a house there, and ours is for sale here
Ah, I thought you had moved by now. Glad you were at a distance.
dw is driving there right now - starts her new job tomorrow
on friday we were wondering if she'd even start, till they found the guy in the boat
I guess, Molly that people like visiting Australia and knowing that we're living here gives our friends a place to visit, knowing that they can stay here.
wow! got nbt really easily on this grid....I have a feeling it's to instill some sense of false security
It's a friendly grid.
hope so, liz, cause I'm running on like 1.5 cylinders tonight
and I haven't babbled in months
that means your brains are all rebooted and ready to kill the grid fast, harry!
I'm down to 11 - went to list at about 30 and have only used a dictionary twice! So it can't be bad!
100 to go :)
halfway!
WTG!
If you go to Lickety, Harry - he has an extra word - tu 7, which is not accepted by enable.
Attention all people who play Babble: You can use the list. You can use the dictionary. You do not have to feel guilty about doing that. This is a word game where you find words and learn new words. All good. : D
good to know. ty
Just so Molly - but it's all about the personal challenge for me! How far can I get at each step!
That should've been ? at the end!
lickety has a fake word today?
And the personal challenge is well and as it should be. It's just that people always sound guilty about getting help. Especially using the list. Meanwhile, they have been getting help from clues the whole time they didn't use the list. It just confuses me at times.
I'm just pleased if I can do as much as possible before I use help!
Turnons. All one word. Think of it what you will, 2Bit.
Love the pic of your daughter, Dan
But aren't clues help? I've never gotten why people are okay with clues and seem to feel guilty about using the list.
5 left! Probably time for clues or a dictionary!
tx Lizlin! and Molly, I'm WAY ahead on that :-P
gogo liz!
67 to go here, and it's crawling
Go Lizlin go!
I'll hush now. What I think never seems to make sense to anyone else here.
Hello to my fellow babblers! How is everybody doing today?
hi min
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! Way to go!
Hi Min :)
Helloo, Min and everyone else.
I know what you mean Molly - and I don't think you should hush! It's a free forum - say what you like!

Hi Bea :)
I know, Bzzn. It's like I blinked and she's nearly three
Clues for the last pa 5 / 16 - after the celebration, please.
It makes perfect sense to me, Molly. And I get irritated at those that get pissy when they are not given a clue quick enough.
Sometimes people are just deep in the grid and don't see the request - or the chog is moving too quickly!
I have one who is remitted, liz
Blink again, Dan, and you will be walking her down the aisle.
pa5/16 recipient of funds

I am doing well. Better now that they caught that dirtbag in the boat. I only live 15 minutes north of Boston so it was a bit scary for us.
Have a good evening everyone. Back later today for new grid :)
Is there a TU7?
In Lickety's list.
nope, there is no tu7. it's a mistake on the list, i guess

can anyone help me, I am at 167 and am clueless if tu 7 is an error...??????
nope. only 2 tu words, not 3.

2 tu words. As was said previously, tu7 is not a valid word.

If you are at 167, you are done. 168 only exists in Lickety's list, which is not correct.

hi TO!
fireworks!
FINISHED!!! VERY EXCELLENT!
hi sue!
watching Nine on TV (the movie) - I think the musical was better
i don't know that show, sur
Nine was a musical based on Fellini's film 8 1/2, my son was in a local production when he was little (playing Fellini as a child) - I took him to all the rehearsals and performances so saw it many times
ih the movie with all of those stars including christina aguilera?
sue?
*watches tumbleweeds blowing through chog*
Sorry! Was losing myself on Reddit. It has a lot of stars, dunno about Aguilera.
No Aguilera, but Daniel Day-Lewis, Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Judi Dench, Sophia Loren
do you have pe7/8?
I do. Want a slue?
*clue?
(maybe not if I can't type!)
Please?
If you have the pe5/12 (which adds the cross letter to the fruit), add the "more so" ending for the 7, and the "most" ending for the 8
ty. that does it for me.
yay TO!
glad to read your good news. you two have a virus now?
no, Frank's getting hit harder by the chemo, and I am probably just stressed out
really?
can't imagine why I'd be stressed :-P
