actually, got a new laptop from work.. .HP ProBook, and the (expletive deleted) touchpad is so sensitive, I often get thrown out of the "typing" box... frustrating.

I like desktops better for documents. I think the laptop decreases my speed, efficiency, and accuracy tremendously. I always end up totally ticked. Hope it doesn't take you long to adjust.

By the way Cos. I was pleasantly surprised with the last episode of Touch. Certainly they were aware that they might get canceled, and they wrapped up a lot of the loose ends, story wise. A few things were left open to interpretation, in case the story continues somewhere else. But all in all, the best "last episode of a canceled show" I've ever seen.

Touch was a show for people who think. Alas, not too many of them watch TV. Shows like Touch bite the bullet while shows like Honey Boo Boo remain popular. A sad reflection on the viewing mindset.

we have yappy dogs here. i would love a couple of chickens but worry about my cat trying to kills them or scare them to death and the noise but they can't be any worse than the yappy dogs around here.one of our neighbours has a dog that barks the whole time it goes past your house if it sees a person or animal...it's infuriating! i can't even be in my own garden
I was whinging last night about a neighbour's dog, which often barks all night at the weekend because it's locked out, while it's owners are out partying.

i'm the same as you in that respect liz, when my brother was in afghanistan i could keep in contact with him more often
I do quite like hearing how some of my ex-pupils are doing, and fb is quite useful for that - strange seeing one of my fav classes leaving school this year. Looking at the pics, most of them are still easy to recognise!
I don't post when I'm going on holiday etc and think it's daft that so many people do that!
I had to get on Facebook to see family photographs because most of my clan is now too lazy to email. Which bugs me, but oh well.
Photos are about the best thing on facebook.

I disagree about photographs on Facebook. If you email someone a photograph, they are the only one who gets it. If you post a photograph on Facebook, anyone who is in it gets "tagged". And that results in photo sharing beyond what was meant.

Good point Molly! For me though, it does give me a chance to keep up with stuff from my old life but without having to be in close contact. But still try to avoid personal stuff and post far more scene photos than people ones!

Which takes me back to my original point. If people were not so lazy they would share photographs via email. But it's easy to upload a photo to Facebook and just share it with the world. And don't get me stared on Facebook invitations and Facebook thank you notes.

They should Peri. Part of what I don't like about photo sharing on Facebook is this...oh great, ____ posted a photo of me at a party last weekend and my Mom saw it.
i must admit, i'm not good with how to send photos, infact i'm just computor thick in loads of things.the bairn has to show me.she even had to show me how to use my ipad which she broke yesterday by leaning on it, so the glass is cracked which would be ok until i could get another one but it won't work at all when i press on the screen, only in certain ares which isn't very helpful as i can't get onto my homepage

The main thing I don't like about Facebook is the "it's all about ME" aspect of it. It just seems like a bad rerun of Junior High to me.
