Hi all :)
Hi liz
hi 7/36
hi 7/32
hi 7/32 X 2
he 6 and he 7
I can only find an hi 7/32 and an hi 7/36 :(
horsey sounds
that is my hi 7/32...
You're right -- I misread the he/hi. I have he 6-7 and hi 7-7
whew, ty... that is what I have, too
ni 7
dee is that ni - silly people ?
yes :)
Missing one 7. I have al en en he hi hi ni. Do you have the last one?
actually missing one of your en's and one more...
the last 7 has to begin with an r, s, c, n, a, l, or an f :)
found it se 7
ty arb!
i have the en - audience related one what is the other en ?
add a consonant to the en 6/21 ... sounds like a city in CA
Spanishy word -- I think it is a kind of tree
ty got it
en + special dishes minus the h
then add cons
hi everyone, bridge ran late tonight
hi flosey~
Hi Flosey
hi Dee
how was bridge?
was a good night, ran late, my partner and I didn't place but had fun
Jilli placed, I think second
glad you had a nice time and congrats to jili!
Enjoyment is the most important thing
yes it is, Liz, always fun
fireworks
WTG Dee
Hi all -- yes, we did surprisingly well, considering a couple of really stupid bids we made!
ty flosey. Congrats, Jili!!
wtg dee
ty
obviously we had a few 'stupid' bids too Jilli
Congrats Dee and hi Jilli :)
ty liz
flosey, ours were colossally so! And doubled, down three, one of the vulnerable!
*them
wow, but you made up for them on other hands
well I am off til the flip... have fun all!
so without those blunders, you'd have been first
Night Dee. Sleep well
ty, liz. you, too! poofing with hugs!
night Dee, sweet sleep
I don't think we would have been first no matter what -- Jeff and Nancy were miles ahead of everyone by about 20 points.
gnight dee (sorry, I was buried in the grid)
BBL. Sleep well Jilli and Flosey :)
Bye liz!
May I please have a clue for eo6-18? Thanks
bye Liz, was away for a couple of minutes, just got into jammies
eo + big-maned forest animal that roars, but with different last vowel
hi, and thanks crayola, hi Peach
Thanks so much, crayola.
hi flosey
Hi there, flosey. Hope you are well and happy.
yes thanks Peach, and you?
made a batch of blackberry jam today, they grow wild all over this island but we have lots right here on the property
Doing OK today.....still raining, still waiting for it to stop so that my driveway can be poured.
Ooo, the blackberries sound wonderful.
ah, that will be lovely, to have a nice driveway - ours is crushed stone - is a very long lane
hubby also makes a blackberry port which seems to be quite popular with friends
That is so nice.
actually, he doesn't make it, takes them to a local brewer who makes it for us
he just has to do the bottling
Well, I bet he enjoys doing it.
oh yes
Of course, it needs to be tasted periodically....LOL
lol, he rather enjoys that part of it
Someone is missing here.....it is Rose. Has she been on and I missed her?
Hello All
Hi there, puglet.
hmmm, my response didn't post, I've just been in for about an hour, haven't seen Rose
hi Puglet
Hi Peach and Flosey
hmm, hope all is well with her.
Are you feeling better today Peach
Yes, thanks, pug. Just waiting for the raining to let up....forcast says we will be wet all week. LOL
Please send it our way!lal
and our way too, Peach, gardens need it - or, hubby has to get the pump going to water the gardens
Wish I could.
we are getting pretty dry here. Hasent rain hardly at all this month
I guess the crops are suffering then?
we've just had a few sprinkles, not enough to really do much good
I have an irrigations system and my water bill must be stratospheric
we don't have huge crops Peach, just for ourselves and some friends
Do you have a sprinkler system, flosey? I don't have much yard to water.
hubby has hoses running from the ponds near the gardens
I dont think so for right now because we got quite abit last month but the ground is cracking right now
the water is pumped up
Sorry I've been absent -- had to do some emailing and kitchening. Now just need an 8 for nbs but have 5 bts!
The young man who helps me says he is going to put one in my back yard so that I can water the roses. I have a few flowers on a table (of sorts) and some mint.
flosey, you're lucky to have ponds -- I'm draining St Mary Lake :-(
the 8 is al8/40 comes from al5/10, 7/28 and 8/40
I have Lickety, flosey!
we had them dug when we first moved here, Jilli
ok, so you must have al5/10? ET?
yes, just not seeing the 7 & 8 yet
think that was the name of the al5 (there was a movie ) ah, add a couple of vowels, then pl
strange word imho
ty flosey -- those are words????
nbs :-)
so many of these strange words lately
Indeed, flosey.
and linch is not accepted! how strange
because it's lynch, I think, flosey
I tried that also, flosey. Then I wondered if it is spelled lynch....
it is, peach
but I googled it and it's there
I'm blind to the en and es words -- any clues avaiable?
Oh, then I wonder why it didn't take?
the other spelling would be the lynching - such as from the old western movies
enable rules in mysterious ways
what does linch mean, then?
oh, as in linch-pin?
a ledge, a right angled projection
yes, there's the linchpin
live and learn
thankfully, we're never too old - my only problem is remembering
you seem to remember well here, flosey!
LOL, I do believe that Babble helps us in many ways.
but here I have time to think - it's just when I'm mid sentence and a word I want just will not appear
it's misfiled somewhere in this head
Our computers are on "overload", flosey.
brb
jilli, en6 en7, what an actor/singer might do at the end of performance in response to audience good reaction.
where would we be without them
en6, en + wealth
same here, flosey -- and words I know perfectly well just disappear
thanks rose
tyvm granny
es5, es + ***nel, heart of a fruit
yes, things that have been there, and properly in place, just very frustrating
tyvm again granny
thanks again rose
how are you both? doing well here
fine thanks rose, and you? are you keeping off your feet?
yes, mum....i am looking after myself...lolol
fine here, ty granny --- glad you're weel
Hi ya Rose
hey ya pugs, ready for the next installment of the a day in the life of GR ?
granny, I guess it's about time I started calling you rose, eh?
hi pug
well, jilli, a rose by any other name....
Hi Jilli and sure Rose
I have one blank E -- the one on the right. Help, please? I'm brain dead.
en6, en + ***n*min, a sweet spice
then plural for en7
pugs, i was being facetious ( love that word), nothing really happened today. it has been quiet and very sedate.
fw
WTG JOSO!!!
wtg Joso
yay joso!
Congrats, joso!!!!!
thats good Rose--you dont get that too often
*giggle* ain't that the truth!
I've got to get to bed, very tired tonight
rose,I must be thinking of the wrong spice because the one I got from your clue didn't come from that E. It's like a California town with a diff last vowel.
goodnight all, have fun with this grid, have 76 to go
night, flosey, hope you have a sweet sleep
good night Flosey
gnight flosey -- I'm just one short of halfway
g'nite flossy
think it dame from the right column, end of second row, I believe
***came, not dame!
that E is still blank for me, flosey
ahhh, then the audience call to a good actor/singer should work
so many Es here!
it's blackened here
Sweet dreams, flosey.
have 4 en words
oh duhhh, of course, rose! nbs and over halfway so I can call it a day and go to bed.
ty Peach and I'm off
bb tomorrow
(I now have 4 en words too -- just missing the first en7/32)
no time tomorrow -- goodnight/evening all and...*poof
I need to start winding down.....Happy Babbling all. See you later today.
5 en words total
g'nite peach
night Peach
and Jilli too
g'nite jilli, rest well
good morning all
night jilli, sweet dreams, dear
hi sprite
and g'day sprite
Morning Sprite!
rose :) *hugs*
xoxoxox for sprite
and some for pugs, too xoxoxox
how are you today, rose?
hiya pug :) *hug*
thanks guys and back at ya
doing goodly here, and you, dear? still on the straight and narrow?
not fully. Ate two late sandwiches last night. But then again, if I could do this all by myself, why should I enlist the help of the clinic, right?
Ks killed
small step backwards is fi4, dear. you must learn to crawl before you run.
Do you know why you did Sprite?
I try. Guess that is all one can do. Son is making it extra hard by being a pita again. Triggering lots of old memories.
yep. Son was agressive and was gesturing right in front of my face... had to tell him to step back, which he did, but the damage is done by then.
Is this the same kid I sent the comics too sprite?
yes joso, the very same. Quite a bit older though now.
I imagine, how old now?
Sprite maybe having things on hand that are healthier could help--like carrot sticks or apples
um, sprite does he have ADHD?
he is 17 yo
no rose, nothing like that.
pug, thanks for helping :)
so it's just the raging hormones.
older teen, always rough, and I bet stressed as you are by family troubles
yep. Just that, sigh.
probably, joso. And making them worse by his reaction to them. Which is also normal in teens.
I wish I could do more than wish you well sprite.
and how are you all today?
all well here
thanks joso, you are doing a lot by that :) Thanks all for caring. Makes all the difference.
good to hear!
are you dutch by birth sprite?
Iam worried about you Sprite and I would like to say more as your friend but dont want to hurt your feelings. so I will just pray for you----but Iam good and I would be better if we got some rain and the 90's would stay away-lol
born and raised, joso :)
I am so impressed by your skill with english
pug, feel free to say whatever to me, and if you prefer email, that is great too. Thanks for your prayers. Great to hear you are good... hoping with you for a bit cooler weather and some rain.
thanks, joso. I learned so much here in babble chog.
Sprite has your sugar came down any?
rose, you still with us, hun?
yes, dear.
ok, didn't mean to hog the chog :) Glad you are. How is the knee? And how are you all in all?
doing well today, thanx, sprite. the knee is improving with the enforced rest, because of left ankle.
whats wrong with the ankle?
that is a good thing. Must drive you crazy to have to rest so much, I bet... such an active person as yourself.
oh pug, about the sugar: I don't know yet. Have to make a new appointment with the doctor and will probably have to do new blood tests then.
pugs, ligaments sore because i am favouring the right leg in the splint. i put extra weight on the left, so that the right knee doesn't hurt so much.
a true work-related injury, that one
Sprite dont you have a tester to test yourself
what pugs asked, sprite.
not yet, pug. It is all so new still. Am calling the doctor today for a new appointment and also for an appointment with the diabetes nurse.
I do have meds now, but they take a while to get to maximum effectivity
are you taking shots Sprite
no, tablets, pug
well thats good
metformine is the name.
It may be mild enough that you can get it under controll before it gets to shots
pain in the butt disease sprite, changing lifestyle is hard
that would be so good. Weight loss is essential for that.
true, joso. I have enlisted help... not able to do it all by myself.
yes it plays a big factor as does exercise and the right foods
If you can get your own tester Sprite you can see what foods triggers your sugar to raise
good idea, pug, will ask for that
yes, and you can also see what activities bring it down.
really worth doing though, can virtually eliminate it if caught early and react right, otherwise the pain in the butt factor only increases, more drugs, shots, more rigorous diet. You can save yourself a lot of bother if you react well now.
I know on my sister that things with alot of white flour triggers hers and potatoes are a biggie and pasta and breads
thats so true Joso
its a constant rollercoaster with my sister. She takes four shots a day
am doing all I can to prevent that. Joso, I have an eating disorder and physical handicaps, so losing weight is not easy. Am going to a clinic for eating disorders, or will soon, have started up the intake.
sprite, just what are you capable of doing physically? if you would prefer to email, and not here, i understand.
walk and ride a bike, mostly. Overtaxing means two days severe pain and having to rest.
Pain where? legs?
sprite, do you have access to a stationary bike?
thats more then Rose can do right now-lal (just had to say that)
any possibility of swimming? Low impact but still great exercise
pffft, pugs
rose: no, I don't. pug: pelvic girdle. Back, hips, pelvic bone. joso: I love to swim, but getting there, undressing, swimming and drying and dressing is a problem. Too much.
Joso is right about the water. Even if you cant swim arobices would be good
lol, poor sprite we are coming at her from all sides.
we are her friends and we want to fix her=lal its all love!
how about investing in your own pool?
I love you guys for caring :)
lollll own pool? No room for that...
ok, in the meantime I have called the doctor... monday morning I have a new appt with her and with the diabetes nurse. And I called the clinic and the shrink and if all goes well, I will be on the waiting list as soon as they have all data. And the waiting list is relatively short right now, it would be end of september for me. Which is when my current treatment stops.
sprite, a stationary bike would allow you to hop anytime you like. start out with only a minimum amount of resistance, and build up as you tolerate.
great!
sounds like a plan, rose. Will try to find one we can afford. Did I tell you I have a real bike too now? Bought a used one last week.
can you get down on the floor to do any exercises
lol probably but I wouldn't be able to get back up.
I dont know if you got stores with used things like a Goodwill store--but you might try them or yardsales for one
sprite, go girl. plenty of second-hand on4 available on the internet. that's where i found mine. the newer models also tell you how many calories you have burned up, how many kilometers you have ridden. i got such a buzz when i hit 10 k's one day.
will do, good idea. I could watch tv while biking... or even read a book :D
exactly sprite. set it up in front of a window area. if nothing good on tv, watch real li4, in the street.
well Sprite floundering trying to get up thats exercising-lol (I know)
yeah she could watch those men fixing her road!
or listen to a fave cd....tune out the world....
:D
Sprite if you walk its important to get good shoes. Good shoes can make a difference to your back and other bones
get no slip soles so you dont end up like Rose-lol
Hello girls
morning Lyn
hiya lyn :) xxx
hi Sprite - sorry to see you are battling health issues
yeah, no fun. But not as serious as some others here.
Hard to make those lifestyle changes though.
yes it is. And some other issues that complicate matters. But I have enlisted help and am positive I will be able to do what is needed.
Have you looked a local gyms - I found a good local cheap one that had reduced rates because I could go during the day (off-peak). It suits me very well. I am not very good at maintaining exercise routines at home
might look into that as well, but first must find out which treatment at the clinic will be best for me. I might go intern for a couple of weeks.
intern?
here's hoping they have wifi there :D
sounds like you have great support systems in the netherlands
hi Joso
yes, they have a special treatment for people with both an eating disorder and other psychological problems. Ptsd qualifies. If so, I will be there from monday till friday, for 8 weeks.
we do, joso. And I am very grateful for that.
and you, lyn, how are you doing today?
Well I know you would miss your man -but that sounds great! Taking you out of your usual environment would be a great way to start.
ooh, ouch, pugs. just come on over here...will give you non-slip, right about there, where the sun don't shine....LOLOL
I think so too. I would miss my family very much, but I go home in the weekends then... so it will be worth it.
I am well - going thru a quiet spell for the last few months and I still don't seem to have enough time to do 'stuff'
lol rose :)
hey lyn
hehehe :) Busier than when you still worked?
hi Rose
this chat has inspired me, looked up local pools and am going to go to one tomorrow, try to do every day.
wow joso, that is marvellous!
and i just realised my last certificate gives me time to do something i wanted to do when i was on leave.
rotfl Rose----thats so good Joso
yay, joso. well done
much easier giving advice than actually getting up off my butt and doing, but I really should.
WEll when I worked I had some=one do the housework once a week and paid others to do stuff around when I didn't have the time. Not so anymore.
I wish I was close enough to do something like that
rose, what is a certificate?
sprite, workcover medical certificate
yeah, that would fill up quite a bit of your free time, lyn.
is that like a doctor who says your boss has to pay your salary while you are home on medical grounds?
sort of...it tells the insurance company employed by my work company, that i need to be paid to have time off, so that ankle can heal.
what is the latest with you Rose?
but thay aren't listening
right, thanks. It is a bit different from the dutch regulation. I get it now.
*they*
still not? How dense can they be? Is your DIL helping you?
i have to have an independent medical exam, as the ankle is a consequential injury, to my knee.
sprite, all good things come to those who wait...and i have the patience of Job.
a lot of bother, but at least any doctor worth his salt must be of the same opinion.
hope so, sprite
hehehe rose, I know you do... as long as it doesn't mean sitting around patiently and resting the legs... ;)
Are you coping with all this OK? although I guess you have seen lots of others go through the same stuff
quick of mind, eye, hand and nose, our grannyrose but when it comes to her job she has the patience of Job
very cute Sprite
couldn't resist, sorry.
LOLOLOL....
could I please have a clue for the es and the eo words
es + hand***chief for blowing our noses
lyn, i break down at times. 2 weekends ago was bad. cried both mornings, the 2nd one was at church. not a pretty sight...snot and tears, and fumbling in bag to find a tissue.
es5 glacial deposit
oh dear ((Rose))
eo6, eo + ***r, fibber + single hump
thanks guys got it
breaking down at times is part of being able to handle this, rose... you need to get it out every now and again. It is way too much to bear otherwise.
and what better place then at church
a good cry is good - always
sprite, i am okay with the pain in knee and ankle...it's when the pain in my muscles in my back starts up, that's when i lose it.
A good bawl is sometimes very cathartic. Morning all. :-)
hi Soodle
hi snoodle
well g'day soodle. long time no see
of course. I can relate, rose... when it gets to that point, it just becomes way too much and you worry about it and lose hope for a little while.
hiya Soodle :) *hug*
I was down last night(no one reason) so I went to Daily strength and read other peoples problems and mine seemed so small that I felt bad for thinking "poor me"
Hi Snoodle
well, yeah...sprite. thanx. and also thanx to pugs, lyn and soodle. be assured i am okay with this.
pug... if I may say so... other people's problems should never make you feel bad for taking your own seriously. Don't compare too much. You are entitled to taking your own problems seriously. Always.
My daughter's Debs Ball (Prom ) is tonight. Todays gonna be one long flurry of hair appointments, nail appointments, fake tanning etc! Sheesh, I went to my own debs with a unibrow & self applied make up in a dressmy mom made!
*hugs rose* You will be. But it is ok to break down occasionally :)
hehehe Soodle :) Gratz on your daughter! Nice mile stone.
Always so good to see Babblers putting a positive spinon their troubles. :-)
we battle and don't give up or in, Soodle :)
what I say (again) is EEKS
yeah, soodle. and yet you will give your daughter all she wants, because you didn't have it. we all give our kids what we never had. it's natural.
Are you getting the treatments too Soodle as a mother/daughter thing
yes and again eeks is not valid. I know. I tried again too.
g'day jwr
I wish, Pugs. I'm merely the payer & driver!
hi rose hwar ya?
as is the way, always, soodle.
jwr, today is a good one, thanx
glad to hear it. Reminding of "mother/daughter" relationships, I don't need. Poor soodle.
Anyway, gotta go. Lovely to see y'all, & keep those collective ch 5/14 up!
bye Soodle, will try to keep up all mine ;) Have a good one.
awww, jwr. do you need a hug? {{{hug}}}
bye Soodle - enjoy the day
bye and enjoy Snoodle
hi/bye soodle
G'nite all, must get some sleep before I swim
yeah, soodle. ch4s up removes turkey neck...always good
bye Joso
ah rose - that felt really nice. You have warm hands.
night joso, sleep well and have fun swimming. Thanks for being there.
night, joso. sweet dreams, mate
night JOso and good luck on the swimming
Bye, joso.
Rose - ch4s up helps a lot with getting rid of the other ch4s too
Rose whats hubby fixing you for dinner tonight--Something really good?
i hope so pugs. grilled mid-loin lamb chops and salad. he's not very creative, but a very good plain cook.
sounds delish to me
sounds good but Ive never eaten lamb
lamb is so much nicer than beef
moist
something I will have to try someday
or are you vegetarian Puglet?
lamb is lovely. Tender, juicy and with a nice taste.
no not at all Lyn---lamb is just not common here
love lamb...chicken is my fave, in any shape or form...including eggs.lol
same here, rose. Though lamb is a close second
pork is my first choice
yeah, sprite. no wonder we are so close, you and i
:D true... we would do well together at the dinner table :)
are you guys coffee or tea drinkers
hmmm, pork also good, although i get to have it rarely.as chops or roast, or ribs. it upsets himself's delicate gut.
both here
both for me
fresh coffee only, love english grey earl tea, or green tea.
I like both too but more coffee then tea--and I like good ice tea as well
herbal teas, wiener melange coffee
thats my favorite too Rose on the hot tea
oh yes, good ice tea is one of my favorite drinks.
i love iced coffee, made with milk and ice-cream, no ice
never have had it
hows it made Rose? My girlfriend likes ice coffee
and what about a lime spider...lemonade, ice-cream and lime syrup...anyone like those?
but she just puts ice in hers
Irish breakfast type tea for me - strong but not brewed too long. and strong expresso type coffee
never had that either
never had one but looks like something lovely
oh!!!! cutlery has just arrived. i think dinner is imminent
is it kind of like key-lime pie
lol. Enjoy, rose! And tell your love hi from me.
everyone loves lime spiders
enjoy! Rose
fireflies
It is a summer drink Puglet
w2g Sprite
pugs, pour coffee over ice-cream, add milk. sometimes they put whipped cream on the top.
Congrats Sprite!
WTG SPRITE!!!
hows it made
I will try that for my friend next time she comes
okay....going soon, xoxox to all of you

BBL need to crank up the heating and get something for dinner too

This summer flew by...Sarah goes back to school this weekend....I cant believe it!
She will be a junior?
yes....a junior in college and Keith will be a junior in high school...
soccer tryouts are this week for him so it has already begun
I remember that Sarah is the same age as my youngest nephew, Jonathan.
Yes, local high schools started fall sport practices yesterday.
she is counting down the days until she turns 21 - March 8 is not that far away
Ah, Jon will turn 20 on Sept 30.
she drove my new car for the first time yesterday and loved it.....thank god she is going back to school...lol!
I didn't even let my friend drive my new car when we were on our Adirondack trip recently.
work phone.....
I am rather stuck after finding just 56 words. Vowel overdose in the grid.

Hi again; had to go play with grandson until we got too worn out from the heat and humidity. Thank Goodness for A/C!
I need 2 letters (vowels of course) for NBT: the 4th row "I" and the right column "E". Could someone please help?
Phew. Utterly exhausted, but content, after seeing the youngest offspring off on her debs/prom night. She looked sensational, & I was only a teensy bit weepy. Result!!
I think the right column E is en6/21 and 7/32
*Passes Soodle a tissue and a glass of wine*
I have both already, Molls, but thank you!
THanks, Molly. Looking now..
You can never have too many of either.
So true.
hello all
Hello TO. :-)
hi soods
ok so if friends got married monday just w/family, do i send a card now or wait for the reception in september?
they have two residences so I am not sure where to send it
Maybe a card now, TO, & the gift in September? But I'm not sure about the protocol in the US....
Thanks, Molly; just got those en 6/7 now! NOw for that I...
TO; how about a quick email now and the card for the reception?
i will see them on friday i think.
I vote for card now and gift in September.
he mentioned that the wedding monday was just family and told me the date and place for the reception. I spoouse there is no guarantee i will be invited but i think it will be a big party at the irish club
so there will be a crowd.
to whose residence do i send the card?
well, then a card on Friday would be in order I think. Was it a surprise to friends or did you know ahead of time about the wedding (but not the date)?
If you see them on Friday, by all means give it to them in person.
it just was planned in the last two weeks. i have not been around them until just last friday
Ongoing problem with my photo uploading! But for those of you with flexible necks.... Here's Suzie in all her glory...
they got engaged and married within the week
WOW, TO. That was quick then.
Beautiful Soodle.
Sounds like my parents. They only knew each other for 9 days before they got married.
i think one can re se4, btw, even i enable does not. :/
And Soodle; your daughter is very pretty!
well, he said her health insurance was running out and was too expensive solo...the dilemmas of modern love!
tabbycat, did they get married during the war or ??? (I knew DH for 14 months before we got married and even that was a bit short)
they have been a couple for years.
Right after WWII
oh, my, TO. My DIL married my son for health insurance coverage (she says now); and that hasn't been a pleasant marriage.
I'll remove the neck-twisting pic shortly, but I have to let y'all know, she's not just a pretty face. She got accepted for college last Monday!!! Now, who wants to but a kidney? Lol
ne: they have been together for years. i don't think this is the same thing
But a kidney??
say what???
well, that's good then, TO. And maybe the health insurance thing was just the thing to nudge them to do it then. :-)
Or an arm, a leg, perhaps... I have 2 of each.....
Soodle, I don't understand. What is that?
Oh buy a kidney. Soodle is selling body parts to raise college tuition money.
Lol Nef. I'm expressing alarm at the cost of College fees.
Mine had to do it with student loans. Such is the life of the middle class.
LOL! I'm a bit slow some days; but that totally threw me for a minute
Mine too, Molly, plus working. Daughter got hers paid off but son is still working on it.
We managed to pay for my daughters' college but it took four parents to get it done.
Nope. My typo was a bit scary!!! So! What am I offered for a liver? I have a brain on offer also. Barely used!!!!!
Oh good luck selling that alcohol sodden liver.
Daughter had scholarships to help out and son had grants. He prefered to have fun in HS ;-)
Yup. The unused brain is probably more valuable.
time ti think about dinner. bbl
Both of my kids had school loans and our str had the $$$ we'd saved to help her too. Our son got into our savings for his education, spent it without our knowledge; and ended up having to pay for college on his own (he got an AA degree in something at "Brown University" he did get a good education and graduated at the top of his class; but his 2 yrs cost $50,000, which was a bit more than our str had for her 4 yr education (not that she managed to graduate, mind you.....
Wow, he used your savings without your knowledge?
(str= daughter; I'll blame spell check for that)
well, we'd been saving for his college education since he was born; so technically it *may* have been his? He was a dumb-assed kid from 18-22 years old and now regrets it (and both kids are ADHD)
We helped as much as we could but it wasn't much. Both kids had to work while they went to school. That didn't hurt them any though
yeah, our kids had to work through school too. We were really good at saving for the big-ticket items in our kids' lives: braces and college funds. But it wasn't easy and it wasn't a free ride by any means
I know people who have taken out second mortgages to put their kids through school and the kids have crappy jobs (not in their degree field) to show for it.
My son paid most of his own way working as a server and bartender. Got his degree in economics and finance and graduated just when the bottom fell out of that. So he kept working at restaurants and bars until just recently when he got a job in his field.
Daughter got an internship while in school that evolved into a job in her field. She was lucky.
we didn't do that (thank goodness!) And we didn't give up our retirement funds for the kids either. Both DH and I worked out way through college and both kids knew that they would have to also. But the cost of college education when DH and I went to school has grown far beyond what anyone expected and it was scary to think of kids being saddled with huge debts for their lives (like our son is now with his school loans)
our kids have gone/go to state colleges, we pay 10K/year and they pay about 10K also. They also must maintain a 3.0 gpa or lose the money. They can get it back if they bring the gpa back up though.
I know what you mean. When I was in college the tuition was less than $200 a semester
That was at a state college
so, popped in but popping out to go out for dinner. see you later.
Pop pop
I need to "get out in that kitchen and rattle them pots and pans" See ya later
hi all, 2n en6/21 pls
I know my 3 years of nursing school cost under $1000 for everything; but because I also worked in an underserved area for 3 years and got a discount from the government for that; I'd paid off my school loans in less than 4 years (and I was earning just $2.50/ hr as an RN back then.)

Jill, is she calling everyone in the family, or just you?
LOL, my sis in law gave her a list, only has 4 numbers of which it is our turn to be top dog. One night she called 7 times in 40 minutes..but she does call others.
hello all
Hi there TO, better day today?
yes ty. long, though.
Facing a long day tomorrow....
oh?
Good evening Babblers
Working in OR tomorrow with pain clinic (spinal procedures). Then have Confirmation meeting with new youth leader and priest. I agreed to do Confirmation one more year to aid in transition with youth ministyr
Hello wht!
I hope my last 18 aren't a crawl.
It's been steady today in progress. Almost done, 12 left
long day
all of a sudden i will get so tired - like driving home from picking up dinner - that i almost all aslepp at the wheel. i don't understand that.
Are you sleeping well at night? Second question would be looking at your thyroid?
blood sugar ok?
i think so, but must reestablish regular bed time and esp cut off computer early
Hi all. Very smokey here, too, Jilly. Cannot even see the mountains, which are only 15-20 miles away! The one from Yellowstone is getting us.
** finito ** last word AL 4/7
Hadn't heard much about Yellowstone fires, where is it?
WooT WooT WooT wvteach!
yay teach
Good question penquis...hi or low sugar
Right in the middle. They had to close one of the roads leading down to Yellowstone Lake because the fire is just west of there.
About 4500 acres have burned so far.
congrats, teach!
I remember the fires of '89. Terrible
Wasn't it 88? When over 30% of the park burned?
I know 2000 was bad, too, here in Montana.
typo....you are correct
I thought the Old Faithful Inn was a gonner...
that is awful
I guess that's the only thing they will protect - the buildings, otherwise they just let it burn.
Especially here in the Bitterroot. Horrid infact. I couldn't see the grade school lest than 100 yards from our house
That IS bad
there's a bad one in Lolo. Many evacuations. So far more smell than smoke, but I am sure that will change,
None in our county so far. Hubby has to fight them when there is one, since he works for the road department. He has to cut fire lines with his grader. Hate it when he is out all night on one.
Scary work...I don't blame you. Are you still relocating?
Next year we will move back to Michigan, if the house sells.
Glad you mentioned thyroid Jill. So many doctors don't check for that and an under active thyroid can make you very tired.
Stats for the 8?
al8/40
i was tested several years ago, it was fi4. had same symptoms then
Time can change things TO. Mine just came back off from yearly health screening. Repeating it at end of month.
had same symptoms when thyroid was ok
<------------------------!!FW!!
yay!
Okay, Jilly - a clue for the 8? LOL I'm giving up easily tonight.
ones who are feeling left out...
congrats, jill!
al8 is a plural of the al7. Maybe they are Elecrical Engineers from Mars?
It's still worth getting re-checked TO. Mine was fine years ago too. Last physical it came up incredibly low.
wtg jilly

otherwise, i feel a little faint...
Whooops, sorry Trentsnana, I missed your request. TY wht and penquis for stepping in!
Fireworks
WooT WooT WooT wht!
congrats!
So many things can factor into chronic fatigue. Being female and feeling like you "have to get it all done" doesn't help either. : )
and there is always sleep apnea....i did overnight testing for that...
Welcome to the free Babble on line Free Clinic...LOL
All just suggestions. It's always better see a doctor and not consult the internet or people on it for health issues.
At least we give great things to put on a list for the health care practioner!
brb
Good night babblers
