hey pug, hows life
Its Life--lol and how is it for you
busy
Started the move yet
I hope the weather holds out until you make your move. Moving in nasty weather is a bummer
no, apartment hunting, packing, job hunting
I prefer moving when it's a little cool, I survive cool much better than hot.
Maybe you will find a job first, then you can move close to where you will work
that would be the better planed way to go, rather than the joso scramble.
I will keep my fingers crossed for you then! And hope that heavy snows will hold off until you are in your new home
should be fine, lately we've been lucky if we get a white christmas.
brb, coffee
I want a black Christmas
Complete with a rapping santa

well I guess thats better then a blue one
Revelation 1:14-15 New International Version (NIV) 14 The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. 15 His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters.

hi there - it is cr8 and has to do with dyes - starts with a short word for alligator
ty ursh looking
Hi Ursh
I espouse to the modern incarnation of the Flat Earth Society ... We maintain that what is called 'Science' today and 'scientists' consist of the same old gang of witch doctors, sorcerers, tellers of tales, the 'Priest-Entertainers' for the common people. 'Science' consists of a weird, way-out occult concoction of gibberish theory-theology...unrelated to the real world of facts, technology and inventions, tall buildings and fast cars, airplanes and other Real and Good things in life; technology is not in any way related to the web of idiotic scientific theory. ALL inventors have been anti-science. The Wright brothers said: "Science theory held us up for years. When we threw out all science, started from experiment and experience, then we invented the airplane." By the way, airplanes all fly level on this Plane earth.
ty ursh got it ty
o-o how come planes can land and take off then??
can you jump?
Morning. (Is it?)
hy hydra
morning hydra
morning hydra.
morning or mourning, as the case may be
is flat-earth theory a geo-centric theory?
no, a faith-based theory ... one I can accept since I am not competent to digest the vagaries of other theories
OK o-o I must concentrate on this pesky puzzle now.
consciousness is a conspiracy adapted to control people.
hi hydra: on rad4extra just now was v good prog by Ian Hyslop on the six faces of Henry VIII.
good morning, babble friends
Good morning sprite
hey Anita :) You are colourful today.
Finally figured out how to add an image! Lol

good morning, does anyone have a list plz

Morning Sprite and hugs and Hello to you Ivesy too
heyyyyyy dear puglet! I missed you. Glad you are back online.
Me too for sure! I missed you all too
I was really shocked that they got this fixed so quick
hehehe, a positive shock
Usually when I take it in its about a week before I get it back
very nice. Glad we don't have to miss you for a whole week.
I dont think our Rose is up to power today because she hardly talked at all this morning(well her evening)
so am I
so how are things with you and yours
aw po4 rose :( *sending her a hug*
Hi all
she only said Hi and thats about it and thats not our Rose
Hi Liz
Good to see you back pugs
no, that does not sound good at all
thanks Liz, Iam glad to be back
well you guys got a little bit of peace and quiet though
Hey sprite - that conversation with Ro the other day - the inevitable happened this afternoon.
I dont even think she said hi to Joso
hi Liz... am glad it didn't happen on the birthday. My condoleances. *hug*
Thanks
did something bad happen to you Liz, if you dont mind me being nosey
Sprite did you have another family meeting
Not me but in my family - sort of! Not really my news but sprite and I were both here talking to Ro the other day.
yes, we did, yesterday. It went well. We were all happy with the results of the last week. Next week it will be only Rob and me again, and Tim and Caya both have separate meetings with their therapists.
Sounds good sprite :) I know how hard it is for all of you.
thats good! I know its a relief for you too
God yes, so much better. We aren't there yet, of course. But less tension in the home, makes all the difference.
Was looking at pics of terra this am - soooooo cute. I didn't know you'd posted babblets in your profile, so I went searching!
ah nice :)
at least you are making some head way through all thats been going on
Do each of you have treatment plans? If so, did each of you participate in the formulation of the plan?
hi o-o, good to see you. Yes, and yes.
Ok time for dinner. Just popped in quickly to say hi. Hugs to all.
hugs Liz and enjoy
it was nice to see you, however shortly, Liz :) Enjoy your dinner.
we turn our time back tomorrow :(
I never mind turning time back. The other way around, in Spring, is what drives me nuts.
yes, fall back ... and hope someone is there to catch you.
*holds out arms wide and braces herself*
thats how I always remember it OO--fall back and spring up
we have a similar remembrance thing in dutch, but the english one is better
so I take it you guys turn your time too then
we did it last weekend, pug
oh
In my time zone, the time between sunup and sundown is about an hour and twenty-five minutes at its maximum.
OO are you in the state, if you dont mind me asking
arrgh, that makes for severe winter depressions. Do you have a daylight lamp?
I am in North Dakota ... but my mind often is in other places.
yeah Sprite, how is your lamp doing for you
the lamp did not help me.
am sorry to hear that, o-o
Iam sorry too OO. Depression is not a nice friend to have
pug, it works good so far. I have programmed it to wake me up every morning, and I give it the full hour and up to full strength. I use it every day, even when I don't have to be up early. But it is early days, will have to wait for a month or more to know if it really helps against the extra depression.
sort of a juxtapose ... the darkness inside is coincidental to the darkness outside ..
I wish I knew of a way to bring some light in your darkness, o-o. It is a tough battle for you all the way.
and you as well Sprite
yes, but for me, my medication and now the lamp work. Makes a lot of difference.
Oh, I often get told I have to accept I may never get better. I tell the purveyor of the news to pass me on if you do not thing you may help me .... I have seen many ...
think
I will have to look up juxtapose cause I dont know what that means but it dont sound pleasent
am glad you don't give up, o-o. Indeed, if they feel they can't help you, they should say that and not lay the blame on you.
How long have you suffered with this OO
One told me I was too stupid to change and too stubborn to die.
*grin* I looked it up too, pug. Juxtapose is the placement of two objects close together or side by side for comparison or contrast.
thanks sprite--lol
what? omg o-o. What an ass.
how awful OO
you seem far far far stupid to me!
I laugh ... they are the experts ... where is the expertise?
that is bad enough to warrant lodging a complaint. You are so obviously not stupid, but highly intelligent. And stubborn, well maybe, but that is a good thing. For one, it makes you keep on trying.
that didnt come out right--I meant far far far from stupid to me--so sorry OO
.
yeah. Exactly. They think they know all about it and haven't suffered from it every.
ever*
the context of being too stubborn to die suggests taking my life ... oh, I had some words with the purvayor
I cant beleive that a doctor would even think on saying something like that in the first place
very good. It is a criminal thing to say. And not at all helpful.
probably frustration... at not being able to help, and the feeling they don't get through to you and blaming that on you. In stead of admitting they are in way over their heads.
Ultimately, I am responsible for my own well-being ...
as we all are to a certain point, I think
The level that I function at is my choice
yes, and you accept that responsibility and use it to try and find adequate help. And when they accept you as a patient, they also accept a part of the responsibility for the treatment.
I am not someone who is easy to work with.
I know Ive been to the point of doing myself in and it was myself that stopped me
and no, I don't think living with severe depression is a choice. It is a condition. If you could choose, you'd shake it off right here, right now.
It is not a choice but there are coping skills that can ameliorate downside
I am so much better than I was ...
did something real bad happen to bring the depression on OO or is it a chemical inbalance
so? So you are a challenge. Not a crime, that. Intelligent people are always a bit of a challenge in therapy. And your depression is very severe, so that is a challenge too. It should incite them to find out more, stretch themselves and try and find something that will benefit you.
chemical imbalance is a term of art that is losing favor ..
that is great, o-o. And that progress is all your own. I know I have said it before, but I will say it again: I admire you. For keeping on trying, for holding on and for reaching out to others and offer them support.
so true Sprite and those awful things said wouldnt help anyone
and look at the ones you help just being here
the medical model promoted by big pharma has been discredited ... a more holistic approach seems to work better
poopy small grid for a Saturda.
{{puglet}} are you still here?
{{sprite}
Hi Ruby and yes--my computer pooped out on me
now that, I believe in, o-o. It isn't 'just' chemicals. There is a lot that influences our chemical state. Glad science is finally getting the point.
hiya ruby, good morning. Yeah, smallish. But with a bit of venom in the tail.
dualism as a model I hope disappears too ... instead of having separate treatment for physical and mental ... a treatment team should formulate a plan that address both mental and physical
my psychiatrist says openly that for every thing she knows about how the brain functions, there are a thousand things she has not learned and a million things science doesn't know. And she says that everything interacts... body, mind, emotions, outside influences, everything.
chronic illnesses may lead to mental disorders and mental disorders may lead to physical conditions ... treat the whole problem slate
YES! Exactly. Like the chicken and the egg, the whole discussion about what comes first is useless. It is a complex of issues and should be treated like that.
I think each person is complex so how can one doctor think they got all the answers
Now we know neurons (axons) projected across synapses are not the only way the brain works ... the glia has a prominent role too
when they themselfs are as complex as the rest of us
that is interesting. I thought the glia had a supporting function for the neurons.
indeed, pug, lol. So true. But a lot of psychiatrists and therapists don't realise that.
How are things with you Miz Ruby?
the glia has its own functions too
wow. Fascinating. Will read up on that after babble, o-o.
Now the good old boys are finally realizing the brains of men and women differ .... the best treatment may differ ... more studies on women are needed
as poopy as the grid, pugs
jeez that took them long enough. I have so enjoyed reading the books of the Pease couple. So clear how male and female brains differ.
It is appropriate to ask your treater if there a separate studies for women that guide the treatment.
aw Ruby, hugs--you need to talk about it?
*gives ruby a big hug* Am enjoying the grid... love you poopy or otherwise.
good idea, o-o. She is always eager to learn of new discoveries and studies.
it is so bad, I'll have to write to you seperately, pugs
okay Ruby, anytime
separately*
things still going good with your son
yes, at least that is OK, so I don't have to worry about that
thats so good! Iam so glad for you on that matter
This new technique fueled a flurry of research around the world using this new imaging method to study how nerve cells work, but very soon scientists were confronted with something completely unexpected and entirely beyond the neuron doctrine. Notably in the laboratory of Stephen Smith, now at Stanford University, but in many other laboratories as well, information was seen flowing freely not only through neurons, but through non-neuronal cells as well--glia. How do glia communicate? What does this glial communication mean? What can glia, "the other brain" do beyond what the neuronal brain can accomplish?
I went to the store yesterday and here they had halloween, thanksgiving and xmas stuff all out at the same time
that is too many holidays at once
we had more trick or treaters than usual. I make the house welcoming, but a little bit scary (with dark stairs and barking dogs outside, but candles and decorated windows.
I know and it takes away from each holiday too
fascinating, o-o. Have found the article, will read it in full later.
When the kids come, they say "Bonsoir, madame. and "Merci beaucuoup" and how beautiful the dogs are.
do you dress up Ruby while handing out treats
very nice, ruby :)
pug, I know, it is the same here. Sinterklaas en Sint Maarten and Christmas all in one big mesh and it stinks.
are your dogs scared of the masks and costums
no, too much trouble. But my funny father, used to put a tocking over his face to scare the kids! It was too funny and then they'd come back and point and say "There's the monster?"
stocking*
aw so cute
No, the pups just bark when anybody comes to the gate
the dogs protect our ruby
and then Ruffino stands next to me while I hand out the candy
he is a champ
time for lunch, see you later, kids
enjoy, ruby
bye Ruby hope things gets better for you today
sprite's resto is closed 'til next week
always makes me smile to see ruby's flag and mine together.
aw... so it is italian all week, ruby?
my new word learned for today: dh6. Indian millet. It is a plant that can be used to make flour.
good for you!
I learnt several from you and OO
o-o is a fount of information and wisdom
it must be nice to be that smart
He must have a computerize brain
smart is just a tool, hun. And there a lots of kinds of smart too.
lol not likely... a very human brain, just like us.
as you are as well
and you yourself, pug. Don't put yourself down again. *stern mama look*
well OO has one hell of a tool box then-lol
hehehe he sure does
oh Iam not but you guys have better tools :)
other tools, not better. You are amazing with your big heart and the way you always reach out and make a connection.
thanks for being so nice
am not, lol. Just saying it as it is.
what big plans do you have for the week end
how is hubbys vacation going
writing a couple of letters, getting our finances ready to process for if the loan gets approved, laundry, cuddling with my love. And if the weather opens up a little bit, cleaning out my veggie garden boxes.
you still having alot of rainy weather
hubby's vacation is already over, sigh. Two whole weeks gone. He is off to help at the canoe club. They have their periodical day of club chores.
gosh that was a fast two weeks
but vacation was good for him. He is more relaxed now, and we had a talk about how he always ends up overburdened, at work and at home. He says I opened his eyes and he is going to say no more often.
yeah. The first week wasn't fun, with Tim and all. Second week was a lot better.
knowing how to say no is a good thing
very. Rob always feels responsible and takes on more than his share. And it eats him up on the inside. Am glad he is going to take better care of himself.
I know for myself Ive took on more then I should by not saying no, you feel like you are going to hurt someones feelings or let them down
exactly. And the worst thing is, people don't appreciate it when you do that. So you end up in a triple bind... angry at yourself for taking on more than you should, angry at the people who should do their share, and angry and hurt because you are not even appreciated for taking on too much.
You hit that right on the nailhead! We dont usually learn that until later in life-lol
*grin* Ain't that the honest truth!
If only we could go back in time and take all the knowledge we've gathered--lol
ah well, you know what they say... 'never repeat a mistake, there are so many new ones to make'
thats a good one! You think when we are taken up above that in our life there we do get to remember what weve learnt here
if not, that would negate the whole point of living for me.
Have you gotten very much done on your book
Three articles that have inspired me: http://tinyurl.com/8oynrf3 http://\ntinyurl.com/ks9d8ca http://tinyurl.com\n/8u5e3ct
no, not yet. The whole financial mess interfered. But if all goes as planned, it will be solved by next week. Will do some more writing this weekend though. I have processed all the financial papers, and scanned them and sent them to the loan company.

Molly has a list
So does VolleymomDee, I figured as much. :)
good, because the second of the top E's and the center O are driving me nuts!
well, not the O, got it right after I said that, lol

You are both welcome.

ahh...got to love saturday...:))
i got a cold. it is ruining saturday.
poor hurshy:(
Oh, is 'doner' not a word? My terrible drunk eating habits say otherwise.
IN + a place in America called De*****
((Hurshy))
my teeth are still a misery,my herniated neck disks are still a pain, but as long as i am not bleeding my life out onto the floor,i am determined to enjoy my saturday
that is admirable
thanks zoozzzoom
Yw Marc.
actually just took two tylenols with codene and two 400 mg ibuprophens so i should be ok for a bit
just need the cr8 and I'll be content.
Hat hate hate teeth pain.
what's the second E? i mean, top row, right
it is insane, zooz.all the teeth and lower side of the jaw are throbbing now
Cr**odile + meats contain prt*** + 2nd owel
EN6 Hurshy.
hursh, clued by zooz at 7:43
the first in5 is driving me crazy
ah thanks
wow, what a word! thanks, zooz, got it.
CR 8 cr**odile + meats contain prot*** + 2nd vowel.
is it in5 not active?
Ah good..thought i clued it wrong..lol
i am lost
ahh ok zooz,i see your corrected clue now:)
Yes it is, Hurshy.
correct hurshy thanks
Take away the last letter for the CR7
I thought 'toonie' would be in. Isn't that a two dollar coin up your way, Crosshair? :)
dh6, please?
I need that one too, Marc.
i third the motion
ok found it
the thing you enter and exit through but with the h and then stick a vowel at the end
it is indeed, volta, but since it is an affectionate slang term and not a proper name,i think it will be a while before the american dictionaries pick up on it
sounds like d + a famously beautiful star trek lieutenant
Nice clue, Hurshy..many thanks!
ahhh lovely clue volta
you know she and kirk shared the first interracial on screen kiss
Really..did not know that, Hurshy.
thanks all great clues
yes, in "plato's stepchildren"
mm,remember that green honey Kirk had:))
oh, thank you! and really? I wasn't aware of that...boy, different times just a few years ago. It's kind of jaw-dropping
i had my pic taken with her at a convention when i was 11 or 12
Oh, that's lucky! Was she nice? She has a wonderful on-screen charisma. She seems like a tranquil person.
Nice...wonders what else she did..as in any films or tv series.
Ageed, Volta..i thought she was a great looking lady when i was a nipper.
tr7, please?
Agreed*
well she seemed nice i guess but you know she'd been signing autographs and taking pics for like 3 hours already so, i mean, it's not like running into someone randomly, she was probably real tired. but, yeah, impressive to still be nice enough at that point.
Tr7 someone still learning the ropes in a job?
Certainly. I'm not sure if I could manage to still be nice! And yes, Zoozzoom, she certainly gives off a good vibe - although I haven't seen her on TV much. The original Star Trek was a bit before my time!
About 25 years before my time ;)
thanks got it
The original star trek is the best in my eyes.
Good day to all.
Hello, Scrabs :-)
!! just when i thought that we as a species could not become any more cruel to animals,i find this.it is not pretty,it is not a funny tidbit but one we should be aware of.i have verified this through many services including snopes and it is the real deal nothing gross but just the sad things we as humans do... http://tinyurl.com/kvhh4oj
Not sure if i want to see it, Crossy...hope you don't mind if i pass this one up.
Awful!
it is ok.like i say nothing gross, but still a terrible practice
the last cr7 please?
Crossy, I enjoyed my day in Canada yesterday.
there are several petition sites going about this so if you get a chance sign one
i see that, scrabby.glad you had fun.i am sorry the weather was not better for you
Oh, I'm not sure what was worse - the story in that link, or the racists in the comments section! Ah, humans.
Extend the CR 5/12 before it, Marc.
It wasn't too cold, it didn't rain, the sun was out, it was just VERY windy. We were careful to not get close to the edge of the gorge lest we get blown down.
sorry asking for the wrong 7
we are a sad species indeed at times, volta
wish you had been just a bit closer, scrabby.would of loved to have gotten together over lunch
The river was moving rapidly and with incredible force.
all our rivers here are full to the edge of the banks and running fast
i was up on blue mountain doing a drive i like to do and the roads were washed out in two places from rivers bursting their banks
love my new jeep;)))
We had a lot of rain Thursday so the river was swollen. We had lunch at Niagara-on-the-Lake. That village always makes me feel like I am in Europe.
When did you get your Jeep?
same time you got your new subaru
co6/21, please?
It is pouring with rain here now :-(
I thought yours was on back-order.
nope,i had to compromise on the colour.i did not want to wait
What color?
Extend the money word, Marc.
thanks
you basic black,scrabby.goes with everything
My Subaru is black. Very cool.
but i gained free heated seats and sat nav
we will have to go 4x4 ing soon scrabby
the first co7, please?
I told my friend about the Bruce Trail yesterday.
once the new wears off that is
good.i love the bruce
and you can get detailed maps of any section online
Same as the one i clued, Marc but add a consonant for the 5th letter.
I only have one co7, Marc - I don't know if it's the right one - it sounds like it means...to share a grave.
just print out a copy or 2 for you backpack and hit the trail!
us locals donate heavily so the volunteers can keep the blazed and organized
no that's not the one but if you change the last letter on the one you have you will have another one
them
believe it or not there is a garbage week where each section is covered from the southernost to tobermoray and anything that is not nature is removed
was out on a bit of it yesterday and found some of those giant puffball mushrooms
CO7 same as the co 6/21 just add a consonate for the fifth letter.
I always pick up trash and garbage when I hike and kayak. I bring a trash bag.
but left them as rule number 2 is leave it where it grows
rule number one of course is "if you hump it in,hump it out"
thanks got it. Have to go and start the day have a great day one and all
"Leave no trace."
that is it
hello
howdy mlfan
You to, Marc.
Hi MLFAN
hi scrabbler
Bye, Marc.
Oh, that's great, Scrabbler! I wish the tourists we get here would stick to that rule.
Where do you live, Volta?
it is a must here,us local would tear you a new one if you dirty our trail system
into
2nd column E stats please?
ty zooz
TY, zooz
NW Lapland, right near the Swedish border. People come here for snow sports and to see the northern lights, but they leave a hell of a mess. Trash = very obvious against white snow!
oops..sorry..18 more to find and i only just found that one..lol
lol
i have 88 left
Wow, Volta, I was just reading about Norway in this month's issue of National Geographic magazine.
I need to find 70.
I have done a little hiking in western Canada and the States, and the way you keep your parks is very impressive, I think.
Would love to see the nothern lights!
EN 6, Mlf.
i'll be in Norway next summer, gotta look at a map, Volta--are you near a town?
volta, you just reminded me of a article i read where they had to send up a clean up crew onto Everest.since hillary it has become festooned with old tents, oxygen bottle, trash and sadly corpses that are at times unretrievable
Hi RoundBarn
clue please?
Have seen something similar, Crossy, The mess was everywhere...looked like a tip.
And I need a 3rd E from the left corner E. I have er4 and ea4.
EN + what trees grow under the soil.
howdy,roundbarn
Oh yes, RoundBarn :) it's a little place called Muonio. It's rather isolated, though. Most people live in the south of the country.
ty zooz
Oh, I think I've seen something like that, Crosshair! Sometimes I wonder what the moon would look like if we had the money to keep going there again and again. We're a messy species!
we are indeed
Srabs, you are one I watch--I have a camp in Vermont and used to go on the Long Trail regularly, but I've gotten too old for the climb, alas--and only shorter trail walks. So I relish your taking off on hikes and bikes. I swim fine though. I suggested my camp to Minveryork last summer but not enough babblers could make it to Burlington
LAck of respect for oneself, others, and things is a major problem.
4th column O stats please?
lol,you keeping a eye on us roundbarn? you could write a paper on the species that is babblers
oo5/10
TY, RB, for your interest in my adventures. Yesterday we hiked down into the Niagara Gorge, just north of Niagara Falls, on the Canadian side. It was SO cool!
we were glad to have scrabby come and visit..though sadly not far enough north for crossy to meet up with her:((
Hi Bea and TY for that clue. It helped me find ee5, my missing E.
Good morning all.
Do you ever do the gorges in the Finger Lakes area, Scrab? I was just there a month ago and it's beautiful!
hi bzz
howdy bzzbea
nero
not in the grid lol
Hi Luv. I have hiked Taughannock and Treman parks, and STony Brook in Dansville. I want to go to Watkins Glen.
crossie, don't think I haven't thought of that. But I get you all in bits and pieces, because I can't stay on Babble all day and night. I've been wondering why your dentist didn't do more for you.
on my hike yesterday,i came across two giant snapping turtles.things were the size of a spare tyre
clue for the oo 5 please?
Watkins Glen is beautiful and so is Filmore Glen. We did Taughannock and Treman too.
oo5 - spelled like scary but with o instead of e
i was in there yesterday, roundbarn, dropping off my insurance card and said" if i can make sure you get paid promptly, the least you can do is bump my appt up so i can get treated promptly"
i mean the 20th of november???? my god that is one long wait
i love our universal health care but the dental side of it has a lot of catching up to do
not getting it
Do you have ee5?
ee5 = spooky, now change first 2 letters to oo
ah got it ty scrabs
I am a climbing post to five kittens...sigh.
5 kittens? How cute! Are you keeping them?
is the 4th column R an RH>
crabs, you also interest me bcz you have house rabbits. I have a story on my house rabbits, and many untold tales.
scrabby i have a stupid question for you
Am I keeping them forever? No.
Trying to find a rescue that will take them.
My bunny, Miss Bea, just snuck out from under the sofa and ran to her room. She probably needs to use her litter box.
No question is stupid.
can my 3 herniated neck disks(whick have been giving me grief the last few month and for which i have an MRI scheduled) can what they are doing affect dental nerves?
Yep, Miss Bea just came running out from her room. She used her box and is happy to go back to sleep under the couch.
I don't know, Crossy.
We have had a quite the summer with cats and kittens.
4th column R stats please?
mm,maybe i should ressearch it a bit, because they have my arms tingling and pulling so whats to say they cannot be up to other things

Could anybody offer a clue for any of the last two co7s, please? I really am awful with these longer words.
Hope it will be a great day, Teach.
CO7 an officor who investigates a death say?
then change last letter to make musical instrument
CO7 a small crown.
Thank you :) I'll think both of those over!
How many words total today, anyone?
110
110
thanks, guys!
Good morning, all. Name that proper noun: City in Maine.
Hmmm. The masses still sleep.
Ooh, got those CO7 clues, thank you! Why is every clue very obvious only once you solve it? ;) And good morning to you too, Judi - I'm afraid all I know about Maine, Stephen King taught me.
Sorry, Judi.i do not know..i even googled but could not find anything that is in the grid.
Orono?
There ya go, pcal2! Ding! Ding! Ding!
:-)
I suppose I can give you a pass, Zooz, as you are from across the pond.
Thanks, Judi :-)
ohio?
Not even close, julie!
Sorry
Ohio is a state, though.
orion?
I put citys in maine in google and it gave a list of names but not Orono..yet when i put Orono in google it came up with Miane..go figure..lol
maine*
You would think Google would refer to Google Maps for the answer!
Or Google Earth.
morning all. help with center O pls
True.
On4
duh, ty , zooz. feeling really dumb now.
I also need the O under the P. is that also a fish?
There is an oo5 as well.
Off to brekkie. *POOF*
Ha do not be, Peri..i did not find in4 until i had about 20 words to find..lol

Ok i think it is time i did other things..Happy babbling everyone..Byee.
tc zooz
Oh, that sounds delicious, Crosshair. I don't know of a problem that butter won't solve.
And food is going to be one of the things i wil be enjoying..lol...*pof*
coire
oops
"i went back to butter after reading one to many lists of the chemicals found in margerine
and plus, butter was on for $2.88 a pound this week:))
Hm, now I'm thinking about what to make for dinner on a dull, dark and cold day...:)
crossy bought ten punds:)
for dull days you need comfort food, soups, stews, thick crusy bread from the bakers, grilled cheese, hot roat beef sammiches etc
crusty
meat pies
deep dish lasagne with 8 kinds of cheese
shepards pie
scalloped taters with bacon and yup..lots of cheese
We have a lot of snow coming, so that seems like enough excuse to make a lovely gamey reindeer stew
there you go.delish
add some baby carrots, new potatos some onions and secret herbs and spices and you are good to go
peanut butter and horseradish on rutabaga slices
err.... no ty
lol Crosshair...you are making me feel like an amateur!
some nice farmer sausages honey and garlic style on a bed of cabbage
help for ar6 please?
corned beef, simmered on low for hours on a bed of that same cabbage
guacamole and vegemite on turnip twists
ar + i do not see any p*** in cluing that again
crossy shudders at the thought of vegemite
You might like souvas, Crosshair. Reindeer meat is salted, smoked for 8 hours, then fried...sort of like a very smoky, tender, intense bacon...mmm!
mmmm
crossy, that's only 5
*and then served with bread and lingonberries...but let's not pretend the meat isn't the main event!
add one more asterisk
NM, got it
try again Erda it is an ar6
Good morning volta, crossy, erda, o-o et al~
lol, just enough greens to keep the scurvy away eh volta?
raw bacon and sushi on pumpernickel
howdy,jilly
i ahad faith in you ,erda, even if i did miss an asterisk
Haha! I think I have found a kindred spirit in you, sir.
had
i am off to look up souvas
see ya crossy...me myself had yogurt and a english muffin...
i am back...looks delish
a heart attack waiting to happen
everything is a heart attack waiting to happen
next time i bend over to pick up the soap in the tub i could have a big ole coronary
need healthy foods like vegemite and sushi
That's true, o-o...but I like to think I deserve it after trampling through the snow all day!
On that note, I had better start on dinner. As usual, it was lovely to chat to you all. Be well!
That's the problem with many 'traditional' foods...we follow our ancestors eating habits...but not thier activity habits...
i just tried to get lickety and i am just getting yesterdays - is it my computer or isn't there a list today
see ya volta
when i had my first cancer,i was 162 pounds and lean and my belly supported a 6 pack you could scrub clothes on.did not matter how healthy you are,it can all be wiped out in a instand on some unsuspecting sunny tuesday afternoon as the doctor tells you your blood results
volleydee has list...
after 3 times,i no longer worry about the future.i live for today
rationalize all you want but stay out of the public showers
i rationalize my way,you do it yours
do what I say and not as I do ... that is you
I just try to keep it all balanced....no right or wrong foods, just balanced
balanced is nice,jilly
you do not have to do anything i say,o-o
Make up for my mind crossy ;)
you say something different everytime
tonight for instance is a nice aldente spagettini with a suce of sweet itallian sausages peppers and onions
sauce
don't be concerned .... where did that manure spreader go?
well.keep score for me ,o-o and tell me at the end of the month what i pick the most
Yummy....
I believe we all have a predetermined expiration date and when it's your turn to go, God knows where to find you and that's it....just my outlook. And hello, everyone!
then i will go with it
not my job
""mimi""
lol, you are still BR to the core:)
I did a delightful baked halibut last night with sides of brown rice and broccoli. The halibut had a mayo-cheese topping
so,how is my mimi this fine rainy day?
((crossy)) I've nearly died 3 times already but it just wasn't my time yet, so am still here. I don't think God wants me there criticizing how he's running things!
mmm..fish
halibut is waaaay to expensive here
Mimi!! How are you? Loved your email even if I didn't reply..this week was a bearcat!
we,,mimi,no0w you are not allowed to die untill we are doone with you
Glad you liked it, Jilly.
LOL, crossy. No worries...I still have a long way to go (I think).
We bought 1/4 beef at a great price, grass fed, no hormones...so can splurge on fish
40 more years, then you can go
put Dee's list in my profile
Sorry WV, I guess I could have done that for you....
and i love halibut so much..sniff
My daughter smart-mouthed me a couple of years ago and I told her I hope I live long enough to become a burden to her!
Well, if any source of comfort, ours wasn't fresh...LOL
a parents revenge
no,i want nothing but the freshest best fish for you
i make this amazing flour coating with herbs and spices and you get a pat of butter sizzling in the pan and lay those fillets in there and at the fllip you add a squeeze of lemn..mmmm
We have a little English pub here that has great fish as well as excellent bubble and squeak. It's only a couple of blocks away. Really good shrimp as well.
lemon
LOL..after our discussion on health...I find the co7/32...the one person you never want to be a customer of..
i make bubble and squeak all the time, mimi.my beloved adores it
lol,jilly
It's a little hard living in MT, but have learned to live with frozen fish...
why? you are already gone
jilly,it is not death i am afraid of,it is laying in the ground so long that bothers me
why, again, you are dead
hold on,will check.....ow! nope still hurts, must be alive
LOL...crossy, also not being an ashtray either
good to check every once in a while that the zombie apocolypse did not happen in the middle of the night
How's your weather crossy?
it is typical fall weather.about 6c dreary and rain
It's difficult for people to imagine not being "attached" to their bodies, however, I had a near-death experience and, trust me, when your spirit is free from the body, it's wonderful and you no longer do feel part of it anymore...after all, YOU are not there at that point.
I never trust those who say trust me
...rain...just a memory for me...sigh.
well,we are not bodies,we are souls and the vessel in which it resides is just bags of meat eh?
it has been raining here now for a solid week
I get the impression you don't trust anyone period, o-o.
poor mimi
good morning everyone :-) Interesting topics... food and death.
howdy,dianne
topics range far and wide when crossy is around
Yes, a very philosophical and hungry day!
food, death and the disingenuous
Of, course, after all, YOU are here, o-o.
I had a profound experience early in my nursing days. Was an aide in a nursing home. Became very attached to a lady resident. When she began to die, I was frantic...as the aide I would have to prepare her body. When she died I came in the room and realized our body's are just a shell. I was 19...very life changing
carefull,do not use up all the big words at once.i save a few for the afternoon, myself
Crossy, being a believer in the soul, that is sort of how I explained things to my kids and grandkids re: death. I likened the body to a house where the soul lives and when it gets too old and collapses, the soul moves to a better home.
i am sure it was life changing for you, jilly
you have such a bright outlook, mimi .... no wonder your children cozy up to you
Having the near-death experience was a real gift for me...no longer afraid to die...not in a hurry, just not afraid.
what was you told us your sun said, cross?
Hello diane!! How are you today?
that was not nice at all,o-o.((mimi))
Dinner is on :) I don't want to miss a conversation this interesting. Jillyjill, that sounds quite life-altering...quite an experience for such a young age!
>totally ignoring mean comment from one whose opinion I do not value.
dis me all you like o-o ,leave the ladies alone
please
order you spouse around
i will take all the crapola you can unload on me so,go ahead
I have never been afraid to die since diane, and it was the beginning of life lessons on gratefullness for life...
Hi Jilly... I'm very good and hope you are as well! I'm off my Tamoxifen.... Yayyyy, and just waiting for positive things to happen !!!
whats for dinner tonight for you, volta?
Great news, diane!! Good for you!
yaaa1 glad you are feeling better, diane
Yay diane!! I now have a friend starting that journey...and I gotta get my screening this month..
Well, I thought I would call my parents and invite them over, so it's a glorious family roast dinner tonight! Comfort food entirely.
mmm,sounds good
I hope so. Or really, THEY hope so ;)
we are having cabbage rolls :-)
Isn't winter as grand for food as summer? Love to have the oven on, or a pot full of soup....odor is wonderful
my wife loves them but i could never get too enthused about cabbage rolls
..... and 20 cm of snow by tomorrow noon !
i love winter foods,jilly
Actually, hubby and I have date night tonight. Dinner after Mass then going to see Last Vegas. I so love a good comedy.
yup,winter is upon us
my beloved and i also do date nights, jilly
Oh, I think so, Jillyjill...deep, rich, savory flavours...oh yes!
I am SO glad winter is here.
Keeps the marriage young doesn't it crossy?!
Keeps the marriage young doesn't it crossy?!
i have a nice bottle of wine to go with the pasta and we will eat and snuggle and sip wine and watch a movie
wow, so good it went in twice...lol
I grew up with totally different food ( English grandparents on both sides ) but married a "boy" whose mom was German and learned about many wonderful dishes from her.
yes, must be a relief for you, mimi, with all the heat you have been having
it does indeed,jilly
I am reluctant to break up this nice chatter with the puzzle, but does anybody have a clue for this oo5 word?
Aloy is supposed to be in town starting tomorrow so am expecting to get together at some point soon. My first Babble meet-up!
00 5/10
I don't so much like being cold but I absolutely adore changing seasons...the rhythm of life!!

I must tell you about my breakfast this morning.....a meatball sandwich...yep...I'm weird.
Just got the "Bing Crosby" word, taking me to 30 words.... Probably time to make some breakfast.
Crosshair - what a kind thing to say! Truly, thank you for such a welcoming sentiment :) Jillyjill and MimiCat - I am seeing that! Everybody here has been very friendly and gentle.
meatballs sammich? lol.was it good?
sounds great to me
i have a friend who loves nothing better than cold pizza and a glass of milk for breakfast
The bread was excellent but I've had better meatballs and sauce. Tried a new pizza/sandwich place last night and got extra for today. Afraid I won't be ordering from them again...disappointed.
she orders an entire pizza on a sunday and breeaks it down into slices and uses it for breakfast for several mornings
Oh, cold pizza first thing in the morning is excellent!
lol
I joined after a local friend told me about it; then sorta quit after free month. harpjane told me everyone kept asking her about me...I came back, paid and have been on for 3 1/2 years
brb, must go hunt down a ta..
tea
It's great when I can't sleep in the middle of the night and I can come here and chat with people from the other side of the world....love that.
So you are here by popular demand? :) That's fantastic!
I agree mimi
We have such diverse and interesting people here with great heart.
Well, we all sort of get attached...then worry when we haven't seen someone on for awhile...
Hubby calling...brb
Speaking of which, I'm still wondering about lilliann....I hope she's OK.
Crossy, I'm actually cold this morning and am going to put on a sweater...LOVE THAT!!

Hello again babbleland....hello cyber, phan and hello again erda and volta!
Hello, World! :D
DC!! Great to see you!
Looks like we will have to do that long drive from Virginia to Massachusetts when we come out in December, but going to stop and see a cousin in Dunkirk so a meetup might be easier with you DC
wow dunkirk... my hometown
Cool ivesy! This is a cousin I spent tons of time with growing up and we are close.
Her hubby retired from Navy and they settled there.
nice little place to grow up in.. mb i know them lol
*!* ta da *!*
We are looking forward to the trip, but was hoping #2 son could get time off and come down to VA, but he has a new position so probably not going to
WooT WooT WooT cyber!!
anyone want clues before I go and watch the bonspiel?
only have 25 left and not stuck yet...but ty cyber
on my way then - hagd everyone :)
You too cyber!
Is this Thanksgiving weekend in the states?

Okay...I wasn't sure..WAY too many n's today..LOL
and o's
Yup! :)
#2 son calling...bb later...
Oh, nice JJ. The drive from Northern VA to Boston is very doable. I do it a couple times a year.
about 8 or 9 hours?
10 last time
But we will have 3 drivers too
9 or 10, yes. Longer if you depart the DC area between 8 and 10 AM.
It's always a question of traffic. We go from Richmon to just south of Hartford.
Delaware is highly variable. 95 there us either moving or very much not.
er, ... there is ...
We take the NJ Tpke. to the Garden State and then the NYS Thruway over the Tappan Zee
That's how we went last time, just gotta figure out logistics...whether on way up or way back to do Dunkirk.
i usually go through Philadelphia and cut across N NJ to 287 to the NY Thruway to either the Merritt or I-90.
As Montana country bumpkins, we avoid cities..LOL
We've never taken 287 that far North, we usually get off and switch to the NJ Tpke
Don't blame you Jilly
It'll be nice to go to MA as we have several people to see
One in Rome NY and my "daughter" in Conneticut
Where in CT Jilly? I'm in Middletown
Cannot recall at the moment...let me check.
Think New Haven...sheesh, but then again all so close..another chance for a babble meetup!!
That's where hushy is, I'm not that far North of there
There are quite a few of is in the DC/Baltimore area. Once you know more about schedule, we'll put out word and suggest a place. :)
Going to work on that today since #2 son confirmed inability to get time off. And may be able to work in two sites, one around MA and one around DC
*starts packing rose petals and confetti for JIlly's visits*
LOL...one of these days I will darken your doorstep too ruru!
yeah yeah yeah
I'll be coming back to Montana again sometime. My friends will have me out. I can rent a car and head closer to you and harp. I want to explore more of Montana
harp and dawg too
I have no idea where the last words are hidden
SEarching for a missing r myself.
They are hidden deep in twisty letters, all the same.
<-----FW!!
re4/4 my missing one...sheesh!
wow..nice going jilly
i'm just stuck
well done, Jilly
Let me know if you need anything ruru
I want to get to ten before I hang it up and ask
arrrgh.. the babblets are even hiding
Going to be in and out (now I want a burger) as I start getting trip finalized. But will check in regularily
is there a dh word?
dh6
jilly, think about taking the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnell to the Delmarva Penninsula. Not because it will save you time, of course.
But the first city you get to will be Dover.
thank you bea.. got it
yw
thought that was my only option there
who has a list?
I don't think there is one
maybe dee ?
dee and molly have lists
she usually does one
got it thanks
what does the 8 begin with?
cr8
was afraid of that
damn
add a vowell to the cr7 (I'm sure that helps....)
not the cr7 I have :(
mine neither
i used morewords for the 8. Thank you for teh 7, harp.
i'm about to head to morewords i think
is there a pt?
got it nm
i take that as a yes?
hi all
afternoon, joso
Sadly, the screen that the wind blew from my window the other night is damaged beyond repair.
ah there is life out there, hey DC
wow, that is unreal, like from a jerry lewis movie
was it a large screen DC?
Howdy again my friends
hi crossy, how' your saturday
Wasand is going well,joso
did you know flossey is in town?
Am on tablet so please forgive typos
np
No,i did not.she dow city way near you then?
she is visiting her kids and old friends, first aurora then in scarborough, we've arranged to have lunch while she is here
Very nice
yes, will be the first time I face to face a babbler
Babble meet ups are always nice
I am in collingwood all day taking care of thigs ori would drive down to say howdy
not lunch today, she is going to call once she is in scarb. I'm sure you would be welcome if you can fit it in around school
we where going to do a weekday, so we don't cut into her time with her kids
Lol,yes they have me chained to a desk now mon to fri
at least you seem to be enjoying the desk you are chained to.
For those who are in the market for a tablet and care about such things , anyof the three levels of the asus transformer tablets do a great job with babble
Surprisingly, joso,i am having a great time in class
it is so much better when you mom is not making you go, lol
I have just finished spending the last 30 years outside in all the elements running service stations, so being inside in a nice cozy classroom setting feels a little decadent
And the scenery is better as well:)))
ans stimulating, mentally stimulating, like babble
Inedd
ah, stimulating in other ways too
Indeed
Asked my beloved if i could have one and she said no:((
The only thing i cam bring home from class is homeworl lol
good news, she still wants to keep you crossey
She is patient with crossy
:)
I thinkshe uses me a a charitable donation on her taxes
good to know you serve a purpose
Hehe..she is a saint
you're a lucky fella crossy
Yes, every once in a while i do something right
clever of you to make it the big ones that you get right, lol
Well see that way in can sqeeze in more mess ups in a month and still finish ahead atctallyup time
At tally up time
wtg crossy, by service stations do you mean gas stations?
Yes, and propane terminals
do you know of any good mechanics in toronto?
Sorry,no,i avoid toronto like the plage now. Is golden mile chev still in business?
Look them up
got a 20 year old volvo I am trying to keep on the road, i will do, tnx crossy
Well those old volvos are easy..straight 6 right?
6 cylinder, 240
Yup as long as the tranny is ok.you bleed money when those volvo trannies need to be opened up
What is the milage?
ok, I expect to pay 500-1000 a year on repairs, still a lot cheaper than a new car.
My da always said as long as the monthly repairs do not exceed the monthly payment on a new car you can go with it
I don't know the milage. but not adding much to the milage these days
I just retired a 2004 eco and picked up a nice 2013 jeep
yes I remember, you were very pleased with the new jeep
Wanted something tough as nails because i plan on this being my last vehicle for the next 25 t0 30 years
high wheel base good for cottage country winters
Oooh. Every time I think of of your new jeep, Cross, I turn a delicate shade of green! And Hi, Joso :-)
hi soodle, how is the land of eire today
((Soodles))
Tis a wild, wet & windy night. I've the fire lit & the wine chilling! Slainte!!
Love the icon, soodles.make some nice crispy chips the pour the perfect pint. Who could ask for more?
sounds marvelous, i love a good storm if i don't have to go out, and a fire is just icing on the cake
Now i want fish and chips...
Yup. I have the house to myself. I'm thinking of treating self to a takeout. Just can't decide between fish n chips, Chinese, Indian or pizza. Oh decisions, decisions! :-)
Either the fish and chips orchinese as far as i am concerned
Do you have malt vinegar in the house? If so then some nice halibut in a thick crunchy beer batter with crispy chips covered in sea salt and malt vinegar
that's it crossey, I know what I'm doing for dinner now.
Mmm, i can almost smellit..
Lol
if I can wait till dinner time
you paint a very aromatic picture crossey
hi all, is there more than one ho7?
Well,4:30 here now,by thetme you cut tbe taters, make the batter and prep the fish,it will be time
no,
Not sure,peri,will look with you
ty
I was thinking dial a meal crossey, got a very good chippery nearby
Oh, the traditional chippers supply malt vinegar by the bucketful. Think I'm veering towards a nice cod n chips.
Our fish and chip places do a terrible job,so i do my own more often than not
and deep frying at home scares the crap out of me
It can be tricky
I have one of those deep frying pans for battered fish and i oven fry the chips
what oil do you use?
Iuse a nice peanut oil as it hasahigh smoke point and does not transfer flavours
I had chips done with olive oil in greece, a very good result.
You can reuse it many times
Yes,anice virgin oil works well also
A different flavor though, but very nice
When i bakemy chips icoat the soetimes with a olive oil herb andspice blend
Only need 2 tbs of oil for a whole tray of chips
I suppose my fear of deep frying has made me extra careful the few times I've done it, but farming it out is even safer still. but of course you loose control of quality.
I never deep fry with a lot of oil.scares me a bit as well.an inch or 2 in a deep fry pan is as far as i will go
I shudder when people tell me of how they deep fry entire turkeys
Biab
yea, there is a video of a guy dropping a turkey into a full pot of hot oil, not considering the displacement factor. fortunately he was doing it on his driveway, lost his car and garage in any case
fried turkey is succulent. juicy moist and flavorful. proper tecnique and the right oil makes frying healthier than one miht think.
frying got a bad name from restuarant using lard and solid shortening over and over again to save $.
I've had it, it is good, still prefer roasted
I don't doubt that it is delicious, just too much of a chicken to try it myself.
every year.... lots of Er visits
so do i but it was a revelation! of course, the cook kep telling me it would be mnothing short of fabulous.
DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME lol
it was so common in dallas that the news did public service announcements re turkey frying safety
the new eletric fryers make it so that one can do it indoors. a small turkey always, or course.
and peanut oil.
dh?
nm, monkeyed it finally
dh6, d + a football cheer
oh my, late again. must run.
ty
