if any of you are still around, who were talking of suicide just before the flip--my daughter committed suicide. She was not angry, she was in despair. She was also mentally ill or she would never have inflicted her death on those who loved her, and there were, and are, many. Tou can call it selfish for the self takes over, but it is a self that with my daughter was always loving and thoughtful. SHE WAS ILL. I am not angry at her, Only infinitely sad and miss her desperately.

joso, she brought up by queen victorian standards. she had very set ways, and tried all her life to emulate people whom she thought were better than her. she had polio as a child, and walked with a slight limp. she was very self-effacing, and retiring.

something like that. she was always putting herself down. i don't think she ever recovered after my dad died, 11 years ago.

my Mum will be 87 next March, after recuperating from a broken hip nearly 3 yrs ago, she is going great, but sometimes I worry 'bout things she should remember
she was proud of her sons, i was always a second-rate person to her. i don't have a formal university degree like them. regardless that my work is now the equivalent of a degree. she was besotted with her grandchildren, all of, them, and of course her great-grandchildren.

Rose, one should never have to justify ones actions....go forth with no guilt. I am the youngest of 4 girls, the only one with disABILITIES and medical probs, and the was the most rebellious....but now in later yrs I am the only one in constant contact with Mum.

My mom just turned 50 when she passed and I felt I let her down and I wrote a letter to her and put it in the casket with her. And it kind of helped me.

my husband said he thought one of our cats was chilly yesterday
now this is something i have thought about already with winter coming on, now that she has developed arthritis. i have wondered if i should do something.
we keep the house temp relatively low
so i was saying how i wondered if i should leave an electric blanket on for her or something and he was all like, no, she's fine, she's a cat, she has fur, you know they were wild creatures once, right?
but i said yes but she is getting old and arthritic and i love her and none of that would probably happen in the wild!
anyway i found a heated cat bed to order that just comes on when the cat lies in it, so, that will use less energy, so that is a good solution.
Hurshy, there is a special cat warming pad available, it only starts to heat when there is weight on it, and its thermometer is very low, so it can't burn (either the cat or its wrap!)
And I see you've already found it! Our cat loved it her last winter.
