Over halfway and brag time -- got a lovely soft sweater for my grown-up grandson today -- greyish-greenish sort of Aran knit in wool and acrylic -- at the local hospital Thrift Shop -- for $3 -- wow!

i had to replace my shampoo, conditioner, deep treatment stuff for my hair. the products i buy are very expensive, but they come in huge bottles which last me nearlt 12 monts. my supplier is a lovely young man. and i always have a little chat to him each time i go in. last year he, i thought, heavily discounted my purchase. this year he did even more so. i paid $120 for products valued at about $200. one way to get me to come back...lol

yes, I know, rose. A friend of mine had to have knee protheses as well and at too young an age. They told her she will be in a wheelchair later on because they cannot keep on replacing them.

they cut open the gum on that side liz,drained a crap load of infection out, were able to examine the tooth in question better and it seems the tooth is actually sound.so they have me on these super-duper antibiotics and once the infection is gone they can see if it attacked the tooth from underneath.
these antibiotics are so strong,i must take two pro-biotics a day and 250ml of yogurt

I am so glad that nobody was hurt. I actually ripped title pages (the one with copyright info) out of books I wanted to replace. I had catalogued a lot of my library, but many that were in the worst-affected room hadn't been. So... the title pages provided proof I had owned the book as well as gave me the specific edition info for replacements.

The Soodle kitchen was revamped over the Summer. Bright sunshine yellow on the walls & a Mediterranean (sp?) blue on the ceiling. Unbelievably.... It worked. Sitting in said kitchen now, in harmony with my surroundings. Or maybe its the wine.........
It seems here unless something is prebuilt (kit or precast concrete etc) that it takes around a year for a home to be built from scratch

nothing happened this week, mcurl -- I did paint a couple large samples for the outside, three blues, a golden brown and a trim color "dover white" ... not sure which will look best. If we hate them all I can try again tomorrow with other colors.

I am not enjoying choosing the colors. I LOVE color, but the neighbors are pretty color-averse. Their houses tend to be brown or muted greens...
three weeks, and then two weeks off. I will likely be spending my two weeks tiling the bathroom because I don't think I can afford to hire a professional.

well, Tom really likes the idea of a blue house -- I had thought it would be green, but he likes blue (I do too, and I think in ten years a lot of people will be painting their homes blue), and we have several nice ones. But I need to see the big patches to be sure. We can always revert to something very plain if he thinks the blue is too bright.

my last house was a light color, that looked similar to the color of aged stucco, with a deep deep red (almost brown) trim. I loved it, but that was too bright for one neighbor (although I think it wasn't so bad, nothing was going to look right after decades of living next to a stand of third-growth.

I am half tempted to go with beige (the contract we signed is for a single paint color and single trim color) and then paint accents in the blue we like best, which would go easily over beige...
Tom needs to "send" me the pics he has taken of the house with the roof on... I took a few, but he has the better camera. We chose "Pabco" roofing shingles in the Prairie Wood color. A warm, but lighter color brown that will help ground the home visually.
okay, two pics up. I will take a couple tomorrow that show how pretty the gables look now that the roof is on.
