oh, diz. he broke down yesterday afternoon and had a good cathartic howl.
flip; hi all! Hi stid, pug, jane, rows, simey
I am getting HUGE discounts from a lot of places that just want to help us out, so it makes it not as horribly expensive as if we had to pay full price.

Clues are up

Congrats, Rose, too.
woo hooo-- you guys rock!!
shoot, there are a lot of words.
I had to go to the list for the tr 9
wanna help clue us mere mortals?
most of what a train runs on + consonant + past tense of digested
great clue, thanks ruru!
a section of the Talmud, and the plural are tr 8/9
<---needs to bone up on talmud
I've done well guessing the big words tonight; that's how I got the nu7X2
Not sure how many would get that clue, melon. Worked for me though!
I don't get it
bbl.. have to go do dishes
wanna come do mine, ruru?
naw.. I have plenty here.. I cooked up a storm tonight
Somehow that helped me guess one nu 7. Still missing one though.
If you got the de7 that takes away from , unload the de and finish with consumes, you'll get the tr 8/9
change suffixes, Lizlin
I"m getting to love melon's obscure clues
thanks juju. that I got. just not the other nu. I have one that sounds like genetic changed
That worked! Thanks.
i did finally figure out that asian clue from the other night melon.. I was lost for a long while though
nm, it was present and past tense
refresh me, ruru. Was it one of my cryptic clues?
yes.. it was totally cryptic
but i eventually got it
but then I'm slower than most
ruru, you would probably love cryptic crosswords. There are frre ones all over the net.
if 'incarnate' is a word, how come for why is 'decarnate' not one? ;-)
I like the word carnal
also not in the grid 'erect'
just sayin.
me too
sometimes it's hard to spot it
lol
given all the other stiff competition from other words in the grid
and, we have seltzer dragon
:D
as well as an AN word that is like oral, except not really
I would love a clue (in general) for the lowest left side R
re + not walk
What is a seltzer dragon?
that's from a higher one
nope
when someone (usually ruru, here) makes me laugh when I have just taken a drinnk of seltzer
Ah! Good visuals!
ruru, do you mean re + not walk like a horse?
Like the name.
Ty. Didn't have the horse one.
no.. not walk like a human
past tense of run
fish slap
thnx
Weird as I have the linked 8 and 9!
ok, 100 to go, perhaps I can get them done after we get home, must get to bed now, goodnight all
that was weird liz.. how did you know that?
Live in Talmud or something
nite Flosey!
night flosey
are you driving flosey?
As if?
Night flosey, sleep well.
got all the 8s (:

Hello Dianne
Here, came a weak, tiny voice.
Hi pug - all o.k?
LOL--just missed seeing you Peach-hope you are well today
Hi Peach
all is fine with me -thanks and YOU?
Just very tired tonight.
Hi there, Lizlin. You OK?
All good here - just digging into this big grid.
did you over do it today
Fine thanks.
its been awhile since we've had one
I don't think so, didn't have much 'get up and go'. Weather is cold and wet....see, how I always blame it on the weather "Excuse me dear God".
I must get something to eat. brb
g'day peach, dianne
I have days like that myself(more than not-lol) Well that might perk you up or maybe we can :)
Rose are you up to talking
yes, hun. much easier in the mind today.
at last, mediocrity, which is to say: nbt, nbs > halfway, and all the 7+ words. I'll give clues for a minute or two. Anyone?
Hey Rose. Excuse my ignorance but how come after the last op you had lateral movement? Was that op actually not successful ?
Am so glad! I didnt want to get into your space if you needed some time
I got about 3 or 4 of the 7s from the list, the rest were going thru lickety in Alphbetic order, and some good guessing.
I'm ok thanks melon. 80 left, so don't know yet what I need as haven't listed.
liz, didn't have lateral movement until i fell and tore the ligament which stops the knee moving laterally.
thanks Melon , Iam okay right now---:)
OK. So glad you seem to be recovering more quickly this time.
lol...with all the extra padding i am carrying, i am bouncing back nicely...
Lol
So off to the gym in the new year!
Hi all -- just back from a Christmas party at a neighbour's -- what a spread! Too late to get into this now.
How long are they giving you before having to return to work Rose
pool, dear, pool. hydrotherapy...the third greatest love of my life.
Hi Jilli
Oh rose -- so glad to see you here -- I take it you're feeling better.
Hi Jilli - it's quite friendly so far and licketys here.
hey jilli, dear. pugs...i am taking as long as it takes, hun. and they can go whistle.
I'll probably get sucked into finding a few words...

Love that attitude. Good for you Rose.
atta girl, rose!
jilli, it's quite user friendly, dear.
hi, and bye, jilli. nite, everybody. [poof]
*giggle* ace up my sleeve...my mother has left me quite independently well off. the heirarchy have a tough fight on their hands, as monetary needs have been well and truly met.
night Melon
Sleep well melon.
That's good news Rose
awww, melon. sleep well, sweetie.
glad to hear on both counts, rose!
(that your mother left you well off and that the grid is friendly)
you know friends? the other day, i was pondering...just when DH and i could go out for dinner again....then realised...it can be whenever we want...the sense of freedom isenormous.
as sad as this all is, you and don can now have your own life
I was thinking that. You won't know yourselves.
absolutely, pugs. once MIL's rooms have been cleaned out, the house is ours..and only ours.
Until the grand kids come to stay!!!
are you still thinking about moving
wash your mouth out, liz!!!!
I know where gr is going to be babbling now
Talking of which, how's Braxton doing!
Is this the first time its just been the two of you Rose
not at the moment, pugs. i think we would like to get our affairs in order first. that will probably take about 6 months.
hi ru
that was a fast dishwashing job Ruru
yes, pugs. we had about a week after DH's eldest moved out, then MIL moved in...
.Hi jilli...
liz, brax is soooo gorgeous...i could eat him up....i smother him with kisses every time i see him.
Dishwashers are great
well its time then to think about you and don then---you wont ever be on here now-lol
The best thing of this year?
Not that he's a thing!
*giggle* liz....i have so many things to be thankful for, hun...not least my babble community. you guys/gals are amazing...
Yes now granny you and Don can have sex anywhere in the house

hi, rose, tired, hoping to drift off soon. Other'n that, well. We're expeectng ice/snow sometime today (Sunday) into Monday.
well that took the better part of 45 minutes.
ugh, dcs, sounds cold...can i come and live with you??
you won't need any sort of warming device...just stand/sit me in the middle of a room...i radiate heat.
pugs, you done yet, hun?
It's been colder than it's been in some years this late Fall here. And based on the squirrels, many of us are anticipating a cold winter. This is very early for snow here -- frozen precipitation before Christmas is rare.
rotfl
rare to the point i thought white xmases were a myth growing up.
*giggle* don't start me on squirrels...ask joso...i'm very bad with squirrels.
what part of the states do you live in DC
hi all, biggun tonight, but no fear I already have 24
dcs, if we can have snow just before christmas ( it is our summer here ) why shouldn't you?
I'm in the Virginia suburbs of DC, in Oak Hill VA near Dulles international Airport.
g'day, mate. nice to see you.
you know Rose, since Joso started this squirrel things we have had several commericals with them in it attacking people-lol
Hey there Sir Joso
ah, ice storm, no snow is being called for. enough to bring down power lines. So glad i live in an area with underground lines.
hey rose, good to see you too
we are to get ice and snow too today
evening, joso, nice to see you.
greeting m'lady pug
hey dc, how's life
Iam in the midwest of Indiana
you generally get worse Winter weather than we do here by far.
alright, joso, thanks. And you?
we do..we got about 12 inches on the ground right now
we learned that our house has a 20Amp electrical circuit that covers: the dishwasher, the dining room overhead, some overhead lights in kitchen and breakfast area, part of the living room, part of my bedroom, part of the bedroom next to mine, the internet, and the sump pump. Weee!
Sounds like my family in Cleveland that way, pugs.
seems the same guy that wired the green acres farm got work at your place dc
must be a older home DC
LOL joso
Upside, VDOT has pretreated the road. Ah, 3inches of snow, then freezing rain and sleet, chaning to plain rain Monday afternoon. I bet most schools will be closed Monday. Or at least open a couple hours late.
1986 home, pugs. The kitchen was redone in January (we moved here in October). I think they did the electric on the way cheap, though.
I rather have the snow first then that ice!
but no problem, take out the 20 amp fuse, stick in a penny and you will be toasty warm in no time.
not fuse, breakers, so no pennies
probably a good thing
we get a lot of ice -- often ice, snow ice, or snow then ice, or straught-up ice. We we here in DC call Winter is known as Spring in New England. LOL
I live in mh and our wiring is about the same--everything on one side is wired together
my old place had no plugs in the kitchen
was it built before electric was invented
oops, I lie, one massive plug for the stove
so small appliances were all n the dining room i bet.
I would guess it was built in the 50's or late 40's. fridge cord ran around the corner into the living room. I bought a 6 foot power bar and attached to to the wall behind the counter, but you could not use the toaster and microwave at the same time
I have that problem too Joso---it will throw the breaker if both are turned on at the same time
yep, microwave and anything really, but that problem is behind me now
*giggle* you all homes sound like this one. built late 40's early 50's. sometimes when we use the toaster everything stops. maybe we can now afford to get it sorted. will be nice not to plunge into complete darkness in the middle of cooking dinner.
hmmm...joso...you saying the ......shines out of your a...
lol Rose
heads up warning...dinner on the way. lamb and mint sausages and salad...yum!!!
send some my way
aagghh, and here it is...xoxox to all of you....see you tomorrow. hope you all have a good one.
Iam going to have to try lamb one of these days
enjoy and bye Rose--hugs
brb, smoke break
brb refill
back
does brb stand for be right back or bath room break?
Lol--both
have you got fws on this grid Joso
I have 24 words, got a late start
Hi
Hi Jack
hi jack
How are we all?
all is fine with me and you?
Yes good, been out carol singing
all well here
that brings back memories
Dear peeps, going to start the nightime roundup...sorry, too tired to talk tonight. Be well all of you....blessings.
hope you get rested up Peach--good night and hugs
g'night peach, rest well
Jack, did you go caroling around town or like in nursing homes
hope your rest is sweet and complete, peach. see you tomorrow
You back Rose?
There is an annual carol singing event in a sheepshed each year, very rural an dquaint. The local brass band play and the woman who owns the farm is a quilter and hangs all her christmas quilts around the walls
pugs, lamb sausages are sooo yummy. must get you over here....i think your taste buds will think they have died and gone to heaven.
hey rose, sorry i didn't respond earlier, had bopped out to read up on a donkey
sounds lovely Jack--I bet the quilts are beautiful too
and did you learn anything, sir joso?
they are pugs. Next time you are in NZ, come along!
lol-I will
How are you rose? Been thinking of you
yes, a detail of gallipoli I hadn't known of before
you could take pics and share--that would be about as close as I would get to seeing them-lol
hi jack! much more stable than yesterday.
You must be a strong woman, I salute you
joso, i am guessing each country has it's own stories...all unique
simpson didn't get a medal due to bureaucratic nonsense, reminds me of your battles with the pen pushers
jack, wouldn't be this strong without my God and friends. i have had so much support.
maybe so, joso. but his role at gallipoli is firmly entrenched in our stories of that time.
hello rose . so sorry to hear about mil..hope you r holding up .
I'm glad as I gather you are a great provider of it as well
hey, ivesy. thanx dear friend
morning Ivesy--how are you
well you guys have gallipoli, we have dieppe, loyalty to the motherland costs
morning pugs.. doing ok.. had dr. visit..sugar levels good..vitamin deficiinces bad..
Goooooooood morning fellow Babblers xx
joso...it doesn't matter who or where...it shows how, we as humans, go out of our way to support one another.
ohhh, worzel. so happy to see you, dear
had,I just wrote to you, rosie!
oh Mum I'm so happy to see you too. You ok? xx
well part of its good Ivesy, so you having to take a one-a-day vit.
and Good Morning everybody. It's the coldest morning yet, but at least it's sunny.
Morning Wor and 252 today
Morning pug xx and ty
{{little pugs}}
Howdy Ruby!
some prescription vit. plus folic acid.. she says it should help the exhaustion problem.. ..at least i know y im so tired now.lol
I've either scared Mum off or she's writing a novel for me!!
worzel, i have had so much support. DH is my rock, God is my comforter and solace, and my friends here are amazing. the messages have been pouring in. i am truly blessed.
Hope it works for you Ivesy. Maybe you will begin feeling like a teenager here soon
pfft, worzel...a novelette if you please...
cool Ivesy, who cares about scurvy if the blood suger is right, lol
g'day ruby, dear.
how cold is it there Ruby? Its 11 degrees here
joso, am on byduren shots... it is amazing.! course it doesnt help my smoking. but thats another story right
hello joso and ivesy and anybody I've missed
hi ruby, chilling down here too
morning ruby..
Mum you are, as everyone keeps saying, a very strong person. I don't know how you do it. I have a minor tummy problem and all of a sudden it gets me depressed! Well, maybe depressed is an exaggeration, but I ain't one to take to illness - I'm not ur usual man I just get on with it, but I can't complain what with all you've gone through lately xx
cold here too. seems all winter they post storm warnings.... just in case..
it is brutal, but the dogs don't seem to mind. They prefer being outside to being nestled by the hearth
I bet they do!--with their heavy coats its paridise to them-lol
worzel, complain away...or not....this strong man image is so passe. trying to make DH understand...it is okay to blurt out how you feel. tummy problem??? spill, dear. if not here, email me.xoxox
i would prefer the hearth ruby
eee, I dont want puke on my screen--LOL
smoking is my thing right now, moved into a non smoking house so decided now is the time to quit, started a champix prescription and will stop in 2 weeks, but in the meantime I have to step out every time I want to smoke
baby girl is almost as big as her brother and she's not even full-grownyet. She's a lovely moose of a girl with a wonderful thick an fluffy coat
or get a electric cig, Joso
It's not that I'm being all macho man, it's just I can't be doing with illness. I had my appendix out 6 weeks ago in a rather nasty op. Have all but recovered from it, but for at least the last 4 weeks I have had, on and off, very loose movements, shall we say. And last few days quite bad cramps. I'm associating it with a general bug because I feel ok otherwise, but my partner hasn't contracted the bug and we're together all the time so maybe it's not a bug. Probably just being a big old sissy really, aren't i?
yay you joso. use me as you champix buddy if you like. been there, got the t-shirt...
dr. said next appt. i better come in and say i have quit... and mean it.. ..pug, i have the elec cig.. made me sick lol
the problem, as I've read, with the e-cigs is that they don't know how safe they are, long-term
Night all
nn jack xx
yikes Ivesy--was planning on getting one next month
Night Jack
yes ruby.. and they do have nicotine ..i want just the vapor one.. no nicotine
worzel...maybe the antibiotics they gave you. try something which will stabilise the normal flora/fauna in your bowel. antibiotics have a tendency to knock them off. check with your local pharmacy.
sleep well, jack, hun
well may nite affect you like that pug.. just get the single one..they go about $9.00 here..
I'm going for the better living through chemistry route pugs, especilly as I have already laid out the 350 $ for the prescription
and eat yoghurt!!
and wor why you say you are a sissy just cause you dont feel well
Never thought of that Mum. Mind you I haven't been on the antibiotics for about a month or so, and that was when it started so maybe that's it! Oh ty SOOO much Mum I shall go to pharmacy tomorrow and ask their opinion! See, not only strong as an ox but a true blessing xx ty!!
good luck Joso--I hope you kick it
good luck from here too joso..
and I hope WOR you get feeling better too
tnx pug, ivesy, on that note beb, cig break, lol
aww thank you pug xx
lolol, worzel. just follow it up, dear. AB's have a well-earned reputation for that effect. you poor love! must be feeling ghastly.
Well, I certainly feel "washed out" shall we say!!
and rose how are you feeling after surgery wise..
doo you have yoghurt in the house. I even give it to the dogs when they ake antibiotics.
washed out or cleaned out--lol
ivesy, sooo much better. pain under control, moving around very well on the crutches.
Anyways I am going to slip off for a while and make some breakfast etc, see to the dog etc. I shall get some yoghurt or some pro-biotic drinks later and inform you all of my (hopefully slower) progress lmao! TY for all your concern and all your advice. Shall speak to u all in a bit xx
xoxox worzel

Sprite seemed ok yesterday, hope that is still true
ah, the smokers version of an AA sponsor

Hi PMS
Hi Puglet
oops...pms....does that stand for what i think it stands for??
yea, everyone deserves the occasional weekend lay-in
hi pms
lol--was thinking the same
also hoping PMS was a girl and not a guy--lol
Pamela Millicent Soursbody, born of parents with little common sense
Is this someone you know, Joso
entirely made up pug
post marital syndrome...features erratic twitches, nervous glances over the shoulder and a tendency to say ' yes dear ' with very little provocation.
good morning my friends
ROSE! Am SOOOO glad to see you :) *hugs* my darling friend.
hope I haven't offended him/her, just a jest
SPRIRE!!! was worried--hugs and good morning
{{{spritey}}} yay!!! hugs!!!
hey sprite, how's life
No. Unfortunately just my initials and not what my parents gave me either.
*giggles at marital syndrome*
aw poor PMS. Quite the abbrev.
hi joso *hugs* hi pug! *hugs* I am good. Even slept well.
didnt mean to hurt your feelings PMS
so good to hear Sprite and Mrs Ruby said to tell you hi
okay, leaving initials alone....
Don't worry. You get used to it as initials.
ah, you must have truly loved him to take his name with this result, or is he filthy rich, hey hopefully both
aw dear ruby. *says hi back*
well you can't really hate it, PMS, or you wouldn't have picked it as your nom de plume. Hope you won't hate us for fooling around.
she went off to eat at your favorite place, she said
Didn't think about it. Don't think it was invented when I got married.
rose, darling, you are a marvel, back with us already. I told pug you would be :)
a lovely restaurant, pug, with not too many different things on the menu (I stink at choosing), a view on the lake, and very kind personnel.
*huge yawn* ....gulp, yes, sprite....whatever you say dear....meeting with funeral directors tomorrow morning...need to sleep...
you mean fang isnt trying to run the show
g'night rose, snuggle up to don and rest easy
*head nodding onto to chest* i'm not sleepy, truly i'm not....snort, snuffle....
oops. shouldnt of said that--sorry
sounds like bedtime to me, rose. Sleep well, my dear one. Angels will guide and protect you.
good night Rose, hugs
what, Fang trying to DO something? You gotta be kidding.
okay, if you say so....
it's so cute when the 5 year old insists they can stay up more
will catch up tomorroooowwwww
xoxox darlings.
I do. *kind but firm look on face* Sleep well. Dream of light and hope. And give your Don a hug from me too.
How are you today Sprite
am good, pug. Slept well. Calm day ahead of me. Puzzles to create, lol. And you?
don't give don a hug from me, wish him well, no hug
and you, joso? Not a gaming sunday today, apparently. More unpacking :)
lol joso, come on now, a good strong male bear hug.
everything is fine with me now that all the gang has checked in--well havent seen OO for a few days
no, me neither. Hope he will drop a line soon.
nope, need to know a guy for atleast 5 years before you move on from handshaking (unless you are on the same sport team)
ah, ok, see, never learned the inside information on maledom.
there are rules
what about women? 21/2 for them? lol
hehehehe
Sprite, glad you guys liked the ideal on the shed.
women? We are quite different. We can hug from day one. But watch your back, because quite a few ladies won't think twice about stabbing you in the back the moment you turn around.
for women, 3 minutes, any excuse to cop a feel
sure did, pug. Gave my love a whole new idea. Will brighten up the place considerably too... it is a dark hole inside, of course.
I have had a few friends that their hubby has tried to hit on me(in my younger days, that is) and I hated that uncompfy feeling--:(
one of our neighbours threw out a whole shelves system from a very good brand, my love could take it away for free (we brought them a big bouquet of flowers for it) and now he is installing it in his container. Sorry, workshop.
oh dear, yes, that is very unpleasant. Some men are like that.
sorry pug, I jest, didn't mean to make you uncomfortable
a good hug is not sexual at all. You can hug me anytime, joso, and I know my husband wouldn't mind :)
turn over---you didnt Joso--I was relating to back stabbers
have to admit to being an avid hugger. I truly believe that a hug is healing in so many ways. My love is a hugger too, and so are our children now.
there wasent alot in my family, but have learned to be more so as Ive gotten older
I am much more stand offish, shy away from touching until I trust someone, would hug either one of you on sight though
not much of it in my family either. Started hugging when I learned to love myself more, early stages, say around 25.
I would respect your distance, joso, but am glad I don't have to :) Would gladly hug you IRL.
what about 2 years ago> :)
are you asking me pug?
No, sprite---I would have no problem hugging you
would gladly hug you too, pug
My hair color puts a strike against me with Joso, as he stated long ago-lol
jeezzz is that un- prefix totally unproductive today?
ah red hair, like a moth to a flame
just 2 Sprite
ok, thanks pug, then I will keep looking
Iam having trouble with the s's today--and I usually get them pretty good
wow. I always have trouble with the S's. There are always too many of them, lol.
un7 and a ut5
ah ok, so only one un-?
yes, sorry I misled you
got them both. Praise be. Thanks pug :)
red hair, a natural trait of beauty.
alot of big words today
indeed. Am proud to say I found 3 7s and 3 8s all by myself, and even before hitting halfway.
Iam down to 113 and Iam about ready to go to lickety soon
good job, pug!
ok, even found 2 9s. Am amazing today. Or the grid is that easy, lol... guess which one.
I dont think so. been here since flip
Youre amazing!
*giggles* yeah right. Do you realise how much you learned already, pug? Down to 113 without help, that is something awesome. Would you have believed you could do that the first day you played?
well no,,and I can see a diferent on my other word game from playing here
oh I believe that! I have learned so much from babble too.
what puzzles you planning on making now
did you see my second Christmas star one? I like making those stars so much, lol... just a child with a new play thing.
Hi all :)
no--I didnt go there yesterday due to reading-lol
I love your star puzzles, sprite - saw the 2nd one today and will do the it when I have some time.
Hi Liz, wb
Always good to be back and happy that you're still here, pugs.
Iam about done with Julian--I have liked it very much
errr let me see... I have 2 halloween themes waiting to be made, Witches & black cats and Skulls & bats. Was thinking of doing a dutch theme one for touristic places in Amsterdam... one of the special canal houses... Any requests maybe?
hi Liz, lovely that you enjoy them! How are you doing today?
Will enjoy those! I love fantasy puzzles.
oh wow pug, am so glad :) Yeah, he is quite something, isn't he, that Julian. Nice to know his background, isn't it?
All's fine here, thanks. How are you - enjoying the weekend?
How's your daughter - was reading about her problems - but you weren't online at the time, so couldn't send you hugs!
yes, it makes one understand more of things in the later books////how about one of your neighborhood
had a bit of a rough week emotionally, Liz, and since yesterday I feel like I am getting my fe4 back under me, so yes, enjoying it very much :)
With the puzzles, is there a way of having the images onscreen, whilst completing the puzzles?
oh, I could do that, pug. Would have to make pictures first then... could be a nice project when I walk Terra.
Yes, it sounded like a really rubbish week for you but hopefully this week will be better.
Have you cooked anything this weekend?
can you show the before and after of the street work
Liz, not readily. You can either hit the pauze button and see the small one, or you can open the puzzle page on a second tab of your browser.
I didn't take pictures from that, pug :(
have you got group in the morning Sprite
I figured that was the case. I did the first star puzzle without looking at the pic! A good challenge!
no, I cooked on Thursday this last week. Spaghetti with leek, bacon and herb cheese.
I liked that one too--was so pretty
Leave the bacon out for me and it sounds yummy!
woot Liz, indeed :) I like doing mosaic puzzles. It is like doing a lot of mini puzzles.
Probably yummy even with the bacon, just not for me!
WHAT! no bacon! lol
you a veggie, Liz?
No - not kosher, so I don't eat it.
wow liz, so few are kosher these days
Depends where you are joso!
Sprite, dont think I ever told this but I have two neighbours with the last name of Bacon-lol
ah I see. The dish needs something with a strong taste or it will be too bland. Don't know kosher food well enough to think of a substitute. But anything with a bit of oomph will do.
stick you in the same room with crossy and something might implode, lol
roflolllll pug! Don't tell crossy... he will become a maneater :)
I was at Hebrew School (Sunday School) as a kid, with a kid with the surname of Bacon. Ironic for a Jewish kid!
oh dear, what a rotten name for a child to have
No - it'd be fine Joso - he'd happily have all the bacon.
true enough, he would't mind having extra, hehehehe
Smoked salmon would probably substitute well for the bacon in that pasta dish.
I bet poor crossy isnt eating bacon right now
do you like to read detective novels, Liz?
Yes, sprite.
oh, smoked salmon is always good, lol. I love it. Yes, that would do just fine.
there is this series by Faye Kellerman, about a detective who falls in love with a Jewish woman and learns to adapt to the ways of her faith. Very interesting and good reads.
I love Faye Kellerman books - also the ones her husband writes - Jonathan Kellerman.
crossy has to watch his bacon intake and he does. He does pretty well with making choices... and he is a marvel at making lovely dishes anway :)
ah, should have know you already knew them, lol. Yes, I love his work too.
their son, Jesse, not so good. Hello everyone
You never know Sprite - in this instance, yes, I knew the books but it's always worth asking.
hi lyn :) xxx No indeed, less well.
I agree, Lyn. I've read one by Jesse Kellerman - didn't read any more!
morning Lyn
always worth finding a good author new to yourself
And hi Lyn! Hope you've had a good weekend.
John Katzenbach has written some fantastic stuff
true, Liz and joso. I love learning about new authors. Picked up quite a few great reads from babble.
*writing down that one* Thanks lyn.
Me too! I just googled him. Will definitely look out for him. Any you'd recommend to start with.
how are the Dresden books coming sprite
State of Mind - my first one and it was gripping
Lyn, are those owls in your icon
am on the last few pages of the last book, joso. Molly is the Winter Lady now :(
I can't believe how cheap books are on Book Depository
thanks lyn, will start with that one too
Puglet - the are tawny frogmouths - not owls though do look a lot like them
never heard of them but I like the picture. Did you take that picture yourself
Can anyone clue the ae 6 / 7 pls?
ae + at this **** you will be finished before me.
They're awesome birds, pugs. We had a family of four in a tree behind our house last week. My hubby took some fab pics.
no, my attempt was rubbish! They are Australian birds so you won't see them around
ty Sprite.
they look soooo cute, lyn. I want to cuddle them.
yvw Liz :)
They are so well camouflaged - they look like parts of the tree trunk.
good morning everyone:)
hi Cross
Good Day Crossy
Hi crossy
hi crossy! *hugs* Did your ears ring?
lol, talking about crossy are we?:))
Hows the teeth Crossy
Yup! Saying you could have all my bacon, cos I don't eat it!!!!
yep! Pug just told us she used to have neighbours who are called Bacon. We imagined you becoming a cannibal.
But not until your teeth are sorted!
hehe
when the subject of bacon comes up your name seems to come into the conversation
teet are still ongoing, puglet. the spacers come out tomorrow at 8 am and he is going to put some kind of band around the broken too and add a filling

I want to know the numbers of years that he agreed to so that you could pay the account off
Hope you get rid of it soon Crossy and can feel better

Its hard for kids nowadays - the world has changed a lot since we all looked for work

Thought i would pop round and see how the situation is.

this is a great grid. Very much enjoying it. Finally a decent size.
Still here, Aloy--always find words just as I'm leaving. Are you in Florida yet?
hi Aloy, so he is :)
Hi Aloy!
oh, hi Mimi! yes.. we are here, made it out of Phoenix and Indianapolis right before the cold front.. lucky
The Huxley book will be arriving for me Wed., Aloy.
hi dawger!
I cannot believe how cold it has been here...we went from one extreme to the other.
fireflies. Wonderful grid. *hugs* to you all, and have a blessed day and a peaceful evening.
ah.. congrats, sprite, wtg!!
I couldn't believe how cold it was either, Mimi.. didn't have enough warm clothes with me
keep me posted on your reading, OK?
whoooo hooooo Sprite!!
It will probably take me awhile to get through it. Let me know how you liked my suggestions as well.
my old copy is up north
will do
I also ordered a couple of children's books that look like wonderful ones to read to my grandsons.
super.. so happy you are getting together!
Christmas will finally be a good one this year. And with my daughter coming over for dinner tomorrow, I'm ending this year on a happy note (I hope).
yay !
yaaa for mimi:))
....wiping a small happy tear away....
Leaving again....more hugs.
tadone!! finito!! thank you everyone for the clues this morning.
hagd, Mimi.. ! (( ))
how old are your grandsons, mimi?
congrats, dawger!!
ty, Aloy.
and it is now time for crossy's tidbit of the day!!!!!
2-1/2 and 1, dawg.
about 1% of static on your television is caused by Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) this is leftover radiation from the big bang about 13.7 billion years ago.
h'mm, like looking into ancient history
loving ages, Mimi. they grow so fast.
snuggle time
that stat seams right, that's about how long it's been since I've dusted! lol
lol, dawger
I look forward to them getting older so we can really talk about all kind of things...and, of course, spoil them rotten!
Dawg, you and I keep house the same way!
dust is just my way of leaving a layered time line for people of the future to excavate and ponder about
rats, must scoot.. bbl, fun grid (-:
There's a fun dust joke...A mom had been telling her son about the "dust to dust" way of thinking about life. One day he came running to her and said "Hey, Mom, look under my bed...someone's either coming or going!"
bye Aloy. hagd
lol Mimi
my grands are 8 and 4...not much talking on my part, trying to decipher what the heck they are talking about is a full time effort. non stop and full speed! make my ears hurt
peo n
hi Nono
The eldest grandson already seems to have my personality...God help him! At least he'll have me to understand him. On that note, I will depart. Hugs for the third time! Poof!

Just heard from grannyrose and she is grateful for all the wonderful support from her Babble community. Wanted to pass that along.
bbl
What happened with grannyrose? I've been a bit out of the loop...
Hi, sue! First, her mother died and there was a problem with her son regarding the funeral, then she had surgery (knee, I think) and then her mother-in-law died...all within a month.
Holy cow. That is a lot to deal with!!
Yes, it is. Everyone here has been concerned about her and many have written supportive emails, myself included. I think it really helps to know so many people care...this is such a great community.
It really is. I got so much support when Frank was sick - I used my profile as a kind of diary and it was quite therapeutic :-)
Hmmm, I wonder if I am her friend on Facebook?
I remember that, sue. Everyone has been giving me support for my dinner with my daughter tomorrow as well...I'm hopeful we an move forward now...I have missed her so much.
can move forward
ah, good luck with that!! I will be thinking of you.
I can't find grannyrose on the babble facebook list; if you can send me her email (you can message me on facebook) I'll send her a note.
I'm making her favorite...my chicken paprikash.
ooh, sounds good! My dissertation advisor was Hungarian, and he and his wife had me over to dinner once - her chicken paprikash was very yummy!
(didn't mean to one-up you at all - you just triggered a fond memory...)
No problem. I just messaged you on FB with Rose's email address.
Good day to all.
Hi, Scrab!
This is a fun grid today!
hi scrabs!
and with that I must go - am singing a duet this morning, and the choir is doing a potluck after church, followed by a cookie exchange, so a busy morning. See you all later!!
Gotta go. Nephew is awake--17 mo old.

Wow...what a grid and what a ride!

I see you were a good girl at school then, Peri :-)
I was
cheers, Molls. wherever you are!
I even had a blackboard rubber thrown at my head when i was a nipper at school.
I guess you mean an eraser. you must have been a naughty boy :)
No i was a good lad most of the time..i sat next to a naughty lad and i of5 got the blame for his bad behaviour.
I need one more n to gray out the right column
oh, ok
It was a rough school i went to though, Peri, A teacher had also got arrested for beating a boy up..he just could not take anymore of his constant mis-behaving.
oh dear. I am glad you survived all that
Grabbed the boys head by the hair and repeatedly banged his head against the table...I must admit to being glad it happened at the time (not now) he was such a bully at school.
The kid was a bully i mean although as it turned out..so was the teacher...anyway i am stopping you doing the puzzle..so will get back to it myself :-)
I don't mind, zooz
always glad to listen
or to read :)
((Peri)) Such a sweet lady you really are.
aww,blushing
I have 33 left without lickety so far. how many do you have left zooz?
still looking for that elusive N
and I need one P word to gray out the fourth column
Do you have the NU 6/21?
Hi, peri. I have all of my n's. Which n are you missing one from?
I have 2 nu6/21.
the one that starts with pecan, almond etc and one that ends in past tense of ingest food
There are three nu6/21's and an nu6/24.
the right column
It is an nu6/21 I am missing, ty. looking
Do you want a clue?
What they do to cats & dogs bits.
yes pls
Oh, ty. and I already had that one
There are two that have to do with food and then two variations of a word that means to alter if you had an m instead of an n. Like the X-Men.
I have the x-men ones and the food ones, ty
and two that have to do with pecans, etc
Teenage turtles.
tyty, zooz. that was my missing n word
right column and bottom row gray, yay me!
Okay, there is nu4, nu5, nu6x2, nu7x2 and nu6x2.
I have all the N words, ty smithchick
32 left. going to read for a while. I am reading The Bookstore and really liking it.
Enjoy your read, Peri :-)
I have 12 more words to find here.
I've got 27. I'm going to try to get to 20 before I break out the list.
Excellent going, Smithchick!
Thanks. You too!
Thank you :-)
A fine, wet snow, has been falling since the wee hours here. The flakes have gotten bigger and are falling faster now. Still wet, though.
Hiya, zooz, mith, peri, et al :)
Sounds like the Bully got some sense knocked into his head
hi, ru
get out. it's snowing in dc and nothing here in new england?
how i miss dc
Hey dc
not because of the snow, just generally
good afternoon all! It is snowing like crazy here. we have 6 inches so far and no signs of letting up. Wondering if the freezing rain that was predicted will happen.
hi, mab, it is, though the end result is supposed to be mostly ice -- we'll see.
we only have about 4 here so far -- there was a 3h gap in the snowfall where i am.
actually we are getting snow and ice and rain later today
It is cold here but not snowing
i'm guessing the same system moving up the coast, mab. Enjoy :)
does it ever snow in northern california?
hi babblers
Here. Once a decade
oh, you know i'm going to be loving it, dc
Hello, DC :-).....Sorry was making a cup of tea!
hi, phan and welki.
tea is always a good thing, zooz :)
Hello, Ruru,Mab, Pha & Welki :-)
it is!
I could not agree more, DC!
DC, The snow started shortly after 9 am and hasn't stopped.
i hear and see kids playing. Pity there's no good hills near here. Flattest place i've ever lived. Kinda creepily flat.
where are you living now, dc. generally.
Here, it started about 8, and stopped around 11 til about a half hour ago.
virginia still?
Oak Hill, Virginia, near Dulles International Airport. West of DC about 40 minutes. :)
I was very happy to have gotten our Subaru Forrester. It got me home!
yes. know where that is. good.
Hi everyone :) I have se8/45 and te8/50, may I have stats for the remaining one, please?
I have a CR-V in part due to lots of narrow, hilly roads in my vicinity.
re 8/45
That is exactly what we have here in Frederick, MD, DC
ty, Dorens
hello doren.
yes it is, phan :)
TR 8/45
ty, zooz :)
hello owl, and others.
DE8/50
I like flat .. easier to walk
Fed-ex field is getting started in receiving the snow.
AN 8/40
AC 8/45
i like flat for biking. (i'm such a wimp)
Is there a game there today? I pay no mind to that usually.
it might help the redskins :D
Yes, we are playing the chiefs.
The skins need all the help they can get!
Hello, Biltong and Dorens :-)
statement game for RG3
Oh, dear me, I thought I saw 3 x 8's, but now I see there are 8, lol
there is a tr 8? does it come from another shorter word you can clue
Hello zooz and dorens
yes owl it comes from tr5/12
yes the TR 5/12
ty
gm doren
he second tr5/12 i think. haven't listed yet
actually afternoon for you
Then PT consumed food.
gm ru.
gm ru.
hmm, the drawing word...*searching*
Hello TO :-)
so my son the librarian got a job. in Folsom State Prison (but he qualifies, it's the NEW folsom state prison)
I tend to think everyone is in my time zone :D
no owl, not the drawing word
change the last letter
really good for him.
wow.. Folsom is a pretty area
Always reminds me of Johnny Cash wehn i hear about that prison..lol
is it dangerous at all for him doren?
When*
so, they're looking for a place somewhere near davis ?? so that IF jaime gets a job in Sf they can each commute.
well then i will search for the other tr5 ty
What was the name of the Prison that Cash sang in?
ah
maybe dixon would be better
folsom, zooz
folsom, zooz
there are some nice areas in Dixon
Davis is expensive due to the college
Ah so it is the same one..lol
we hope not, ru. it is a maximum security prison. i'm thinking after a few years there, he would be able to write a terrific book
yes he would be bound to write a book :D
expensive due to the college, but then again, it has the sort of places, coffeeshops, etc that they like being able to be near, also due to the college
yes true.
now a lot of puns about books, ru? i am off in a few minutes, just hoping to whittle down what i need to a manageable number for the evening
that would be a hell of a commute to SF though
coming back on 80 east is horrible..especially Fridays
well, she doesn't actually even have a job. i don't know what they're thinking. Her sister's in Napa and they want somewhere closer to them i think, too
dixon is one hour from Napa
thank goodness for libraries in prisons.
ten minutes from Davis
that's how I read it too Mab
She could find a job in Sacramento easier than SF i'm guessing
yes mab. i agree, for multiple reasons. I will tell him to look at dixon ru. (How far is it from Folsom?)
my ex is a librarian. in dc. in journalistic setting
without traffic.. maybe 40 minutes
Sounds like the travel will be a bind.
Clue for the re8, please?
he is brilliant
his hours are 7:30 - 3:30 or something like that.
off commute.. that's good
Re8 to pour wine into another vessel?
actually, libraries are as close as most prisons get to providing rehabilitation, i think
lol zoom.. want to TAKE That back :?
my ex is brilliant too. and so are our sons... took david forever to get back to college, then he was very focused and went straight for his MS in library science. He actually prefers archival work, but this is what he got and I'm thinking he'll enjoy it.
ty, zooz, found it :)
it will certain'y not be boring for him doren
Sorry that is for the DE..but you can still get there with it.
does he enjoy working with people?
i'm really looking forward to hearing his stories.
yes, thanks zooz
I always make massive clue mistakes when you around, Ru..lol
i sometimes think of getting a msl; rather late in life, but i would like to do archival work too.
is the job market pretty tight? for librarians?
Dinner's ready. Happy babbling and thanks for all the great clues.
was just looking at google maps and wow the traffic is terrible!
Enjoy your meal, Biltong :-)
you don't mention tight in prisons mab :D
he enjoys helping people... explaining things, he did IT stuff for a while and was great with that. But he doesn't suffer fools gladly, and has issues with authoritative a**holes.
LOL, RU
oh, me too.
I think it is mab.... He had been looking for over 6 months... more intensively after he moved out there in August
he's had some nice weather this year doren
Ive never really understood that phrase.
traditaonal librarian jobs are very scarce.
hmm... i wonder if the federal government uses lots of librarians.
don't have to understand it to use it... my feeling is that it means don't put up with them easily
he was working at the fed reserve bank in boston and enjoying it , but no openings in the SF branch
i think for homeland security issues they do use librarians. creepy.
ok folk. I need to go read... book club tomorrow and I'm only 60 % done. Also have to make curried butternut squash soup.
if a woman more likely to be called a vee yatch
Enjoy the rest of your day, Dorens :-)
vee yatch? no comprendo
bee yatch. i guesss that is the point i never understood.
thanks zoo... you too.. and everyone else
what are you reading now
yum! bye dorens
View from Castle Rock by Alice Munro. She writes so very well.
yes!
also just finished Life after Life by Sara Atkinson and it was one of the best
like her
later gators
i am still struggling with night shyamalan's" i got schooled"
hagd and ty for the book recommendations
oh, kate atkinson - a favorite of mine
such a brilliant writer and funny too
don't you think "unpant" should be a word?
nt
so sad right now. Wanted to have a grilled cheese sammich and we have no bread! boo hoo!
Pop to the shops and get one :-)
do you have trisket crackers i love to melt cheese on them
not in the weather we are having!
Just think nice cheese on toast yum yum.
that is a good thought, and sometimes we do, but alas, none of those eaither...
lol phan, that is always the way! i was out earlier and decided against getting meat for meat load. Now eatching cooking channel and guess what they are making
Oh sory did not trelise you were having bad weather :-(
loaf that is meat LOAF.
Sorry* realise*
yes, we have about 6 inches of snow, last I had looked.
Having a bad typo moment.
Meat loaf! Now I want meat loaf!
phan where are you?
oh, no! so sorry!
Frederick, MD
Phan, tsk, tsk. Have you not lived here long enough to do the bread, milk and toilet paper run before a storm? : D
TO, That's fine. It's just a comfort food kind of day!
meat load is a good description of what I make. No matter what I do, it is always too dense and tastes live liver. Awful!
i was in the parking lot and it was so full i just left.
We had no need for milk or TP, never looked at our bread stores. Hangs head in shame.
aw, ruby.
hey molly.
The main thing to keep stocked up on is chocolate :-)
it's actually a family joke, that's how bad it is.
yes. i bought that this AM
We do have some chocolate!
Hello Molly!!!
ruby, do you try recipes
ruby, do you try recipes
it doesn't seem to matter and I've been trying for a long time
hello molly! and you are right .. basic things to have in winter..and of course coffee and choc.
I am sure your meat load..i mean loaf is wonderful, Ruby :-)
phan has scared me, i think i need to look out the window.
How have you been, Molly?
coffee, milk, bread and eggs (and meat for the pups)
we are under a winter snow watch until thurs. ! freezing rain tonite then turning to snow.. glad i dont have to drive to work.
Hey all!
it's bitterly cold, but that terrible European storm was far north of here. Did you get any of it, Zzoozz?
Bloody snow is such a bain!.....Great to look at.It is not for traveling in.
hello car.
Hello, Car!
Hello Zooz! Hello Ruby! Hello everyone!
Not where i am, Ruby, No....but a lot of the UK coasts got flooded and peoples homes got washed out to see.
phantom: cantata
now I have one in my head
Sea*
I think, TO, is in shock of what is outside her window as she has not come back yet.
It sounded terrible in the forecasts; I feared for Sprite in the Netherlands
Yes it did not look good on the news..but where i am it is as if nothing happened.
My husband says it looks like we have 8 inches so far.
Does your dog like snow, phan
Not good news then, Phan, especially if it is still snowing.
hi car. where is there 8 inches already?
Yes, she loves it! She has a blast outside.
If we in the UK had anything more than a few inches then everything shuts down and we can not cope.
It is still snowing, but seems to have slowed down some.
The baby dog has developed an incredible coat and stays outside as much as she can. She looks huge and she's not even a year old
Frederick, MD, TO
and nutpea too.. a backwards peanut
LOL, Aloy :-)
Hiyas, kiddos! Snow coming down in truckloads here.
wow, phan. i see we have a scant inch but it's coming down hard.
Hello snowy, Judi :-)
hello judi
and hi car and judi.
Our first white fluff of the year. We've gotten about 5 inches in three hours. That's a ton for us.
how can you be more nu4?
may I have a clue or 3 for the upper left A please
wow. the forecast said we north and west of the city would get more but it appears that is backwards.
white fluff sounds like bichon's dogs
The cat has melted into my lap. I dare not move.
That is what it was like for us this morning, Judi.
ar6 x 2 are obscure
AR 5/14 a curve?
AR 6/21 ar + bamboo
got the 5! Thanks.
my clue is better, zzoozz lol
((Ruby))
i think i need to stop watching the food channel. it makes me crave everything.
There's a commercial here where they dip cheese into a soft-boiled egg and it drives me crazy
Or ar + whipping stick at school years ago..lol
that is making me queasy.
hahah
anyone have the second tr5/12?
I finally figured out the AR 6's! Thanks both Ruby and Zooz
Same word diff end letter.
tr5/12 a parcel of land
then add PT of consume food for the TR8 and plural for the TR9
i have it but am looking for the tr 8
unless there are three tr 512.
tr8. tr5 + "8" (misspelled)
ty joso, I was dancing around that
ty. time to go clean the house.
Hello, Joso :-)
hey zooz
how's life in jolly ole
How is the moving going?
It is ok here thank you.
done, now how do you make a mountain of boxes dissapear
WITHOUT thoroughgoing out all your valuable knickety knacks
Do not know but remember how you did it as my sister is moving just after christmas and she will need to know how too....lol
do you have a fireplace?
no, thank you sooo much for your help though ruby, lol
You do not realise how much stuff you collect untill it is time to box it all up.
I slyly burn newspapers when husband isn't looking
you really know it when you have to carry it from point a to point b
My sister has now boxed and this is the truth here..137 large boxes of toys for her two children..and most of them have never been opened and the children have never even seen lots of them.
hahaha yes i bet, Joso, Bet that built your muscles up a bit teehee.
thats a new kind of weird zooz
that is crazy, zzoozz!
How old are the children?
My sister has a hoarding problem helped by an obsession with shopping.
22 and 38, hahahahahaqh
they are now 7 & 10
hahahaha like it, Joso!
Wow, zooz. That is amazing. Tis the season to be donating. There are several children who would love to have those unopened toys.
she can keep them 'til she has grandchildren
I agree, judi
Well, Judi, funny you should say that..my sister has donated 15 large boxes to charities recently...yet there is so much more she could give.
Help for Un 7 please?
this was a lovely grid but I'll retire with 163 words
a hoarder on moving day, could be a SNL bit, this will be very hard
un7 food not touched
good night all you snow angels
un7 the meal not served
TY joso!!!
or un7 any food left on the plate is un7
and zooz
Goodnight, Ruby :-)
<-- outta here...
More than welcome, Erda :-)
I think my sister is going to be worth a fortune in many years to come with the unopened toys...some very old toys are worth lots when boxed and in mint condition...lol
well, it seems to have stopped snowing here. 8 inches is the final tally for us.
I think that is more than enough, Phan...lol
Red boxed and booted off by Babble. Harrumph!
Yikes!
How in-considerate of babble.
good afternoon all
Hello WV!
Hello, Teach :-)
hello car and zooz
Bought a Subaru Forester on Wednesday . Guess my timing was good. Now have 4X4 for the crappy road conditions.
Have one! Love it!
have only had subaru - love them - snowing hard here right now
:-) *high fives for Car.ee*
My husband has a Mazda CX5. He expressed envy for my higher ground clearance.
Judi, we bought a Forester too. Had ours a little longer than you, but I gave it it's first test today. It passed with flying colors!
We were really interested in the new Mazda CX5 but decided on the 2007 Forrester with 60K miles
Love hubby's CX5 too.
Sounds like you ladies need that type of car with all that snow you are getting.
Actually, snow doesn't show up too of/5 here in the mid-Atlantic (fortunately!). We either get a big storm or a whole lot of nothing.
I will take the whole lot of nothing. I do not want any storms this season.
snow has stopped here, supposed to get rain. hope it holds off til bro-in-law gets home from work
Amen to that, Peri. I'd rather be shaking coconuts out of palm trees than shoveling.
me too
lol
I am cutting back on shoveling this year. we will see what happens
been snowing here all morning - started outy with samll pellets - now big wet flakes
Our neighbor will be thrilled with the snow. He gets to plow our neighborhood. Very grateful to have him volunteer to do so.
rats, red box of doom
need help with single E in fourth column please
et 4
et 5
people who consume food.
EA 6/18,
It is a plural.
have et 4/4 (volvano) and people who consume - not from that E

Yes you were June 2009, Jilly
LOL...pretty good for an old broad!
Teehee..bless you.

i have tr 5 10 and then two sevens and then tr 4. hmmmm
You need the TR 5/12
looking for tr 5. darn. tough grid.

now add PT of consumed food.
do you have RE and DE 9

greetings from the chilly north!
It's pretty chilly here in New England
dinner is on. common over:)) it is to be a honey ham, bacon/cheddar scalloped taters, sweet baby carrots and i have a Dutch apple crumble pie in da oven and French vanillia ice cream to scoop beside it when it is warm on the plate
mild here at minus 4c
Wow crossy, you went all out for us. Now I just have to teleport to Georgian Bay
lol
will be there as sonn as i can - sounds delicious
when i was up at my da,s yesterday, it was minus 17 c and they have 3 inches of ice on the lake
ribs, rice and beans here
mm,ribs are good as well
wish you were here, welki.our store is selling off 10kg bags of dainty rice for $2 dollars a bag
greetings from the snowy mid atlantic
dainty rice? *pictures little grains of rice in pink tutus and toe shoes*
hey owl :)
pork roast, scalloped potatoes, green beans, tossed salad
hey welk!
you do not know the Dainty brand??
i live a sheltered life
:(
if not little tutus, what makes it special?
it is special because it is 2 bucks a bag.can eat for an etire month off of that much rice
entire
oh
sure beats scarfing ramen noodles 4 days a week:))
we probably have that brand here - will look for it (but wouldn't buy 10 pounds of it, would take far too long for us to use that much)
takes a bit of time indeed.but rice keeps well
welk, are you over the weather change
<-- is making short grain brown rice and chili beans
i only eat borwn rice
sounds lovely for a cold evening
oh owl, it's rough. from 85F to -20F - we're looking at places in arizona!
lol we danced the cold away last night to curley taylor
try NV, welki.most of last summer near my brothers place there is was 100f or better:))
florida was really nice, but i don't think i'd like it in july or august
i never heard of ac in a car until i visitied FL in summer. it was standard there before everywhere else.
not for me though.he can have it
lol, that and wearing sweaters the second it drops below 75f
but it's a dry heat *lol*
lol,so is a oven, welki, but you will not catch me climing into one
have you loged in to fb today welk
Sunday night is always home made pizza at our house
yes - did i miss something?
well if not logged in, yes. nothing eartch shattering
now wait a cotton picking moment all. we are snowed in. don't give us food cravings.
the john lennon summer photos? saw it this morning - loved it
no. i must check out your post though it is intriguing.
<-- doesn't remember posting anything 'intriguing' - just the usual useless stuff *lol*
holy !
did you see the nnaught dogs? your post reminds me of the one who would not top bothering the pet hedehog till he got a face full
ohhhhh - the one in which dogs are wearing the labels of shame? i've seen it, experienced it and thought most of them were hilarious
yes. lots of excrement issues though.
uhm - the dogs wearing the labels of shame, not me - although i'm sure some would think i should as well. well hell yeah - i guess there were times i deserved to :)
hehehehe
*shrug* if it eats, there are excrement issues.
stuck in the first ta 7/28 ?
coppertone ta* + scarlet o'hara's home
i think that is why the idea of a dog is only intermittently appealing.
thenks welkie
back in the day one could leave those issues behind, so to speak.
and why we don't have cats these days
brb
i hear that, sister
after time awa from cleaning out cat boxed one get squeamish.
Hi everyone in view.... TO, welki, sammysmom, bichon, crossy, WVteach !! :-)
seriously considering no more dogs after these - but i really love having them around
diane :)
:-)
hi diane
maybe smaller breeds - i waffle back and forth
and it's meat loaf, mashed potatoes and creamed corn and a small salad here.
oh no! there was a meat loaf disscusion earlier. we have snow and cannot get near the grocery but are craving.
oh my! judi was here earlier complaining and they got 8"!
sorry .... lol
:)
it is agood thing i need to clean before the window washer comes tomorrow or i would be baking browmies right about now.
And as for the snow situation, we have over a foot on the level and piled up about 2 to 3 feet where we shovel. We had -32 C here the other day with a wind chill of -49..... It's much nicer today... clear, sunny and -16 C
I feel bad for the poor folks having the ice storms.... they are devastating :-(
and if i dare say you are used to it will you whack me with a babblefish?
Nope... it's true !! I've lived in this country for 73 years...and I still love winter!
yes. there is nothing worse. problems even if one stays home.
lol diane! you love winter from afar!
lived througha huge one with power shortages it was awful, three days
However, I'm loving our little 3 1/2 month's jaunts to Arizona every year now..... we leave for destinations south on Dec. 29
diane, please save some for me or at least send me your recipe
snow, or meatloaf ? lol
Hi ruby :-)
our pups are very discrete, they poop in the shrubbery where no one ever goes I've never seen either dog do it. Chows are very private.
ruby. in search of the perfect meatloaf.
I would welcome any receipes and my address is I y profie 9never been updated 0 bad, lazy el)
this is a bugger of a grid. still need 41
ruby, it has to be in the ratios.
My meat loaf is very basic.... hubby prefers it the way his mom made it... no fancy spices, no cheese in it etc.
what is your binder besides an egg?
I still have 71 words left
bread soaked in milk
i use breadcrumbs
i have used that rarely. use crumbs oats or minced celery and carrot. i make different loaves.
bread crumbs here are not like progresso, they're finer and tasteless. I use some good seasons Italian seasoning and ketchup
actually, use bread in milk for meatballs.
I use a store
I use 2# ground beef, one can tomato soup, 2 eggs, about 1/2 a sleeve of crackers ( saltines ) rolled fine, finely chopped onion... salt and pepper. And yes, like welki, I use my own bread crumbs if I've got any.
<-- allergic to oatmeal
oats work well. one of the best is the bottom of the bag crumbs from bran cereal.
aha.... I use bread in milk for meatballs too... makes them so nice and fluffy.
The "store" works too, joso :-)
yes. i changed over to romano parmesan blend as well and that kicked them up at notch in flavor, though i don't like pecorino for anything else.
the /French don't eat meat loaf and my friends think I'm crazy
but back to poor ruby. i remember m first couple of loaves, no recipe just from watching my mother cook it. like bricks.
Ah, so I could add some good Paresan?
they eat pa - TAY . we are now talking meatballs.
that was exactly my problem, and hers was always delicious, especially for sandwiches the net day
heaviness is the ratio of the other ingredients.
I've written down Diane's receipe
how loose is the mixture?
hubby likes it cold for breakfast, with eggs and hash browns !
that is great, ruby. let us know how it turns out.
I'll make it on Tuesday with mashed potatoes and let you know
good night all, it's very late
My girls never used to mix theirs well enough... and they always sort of fell apart... I use my hands, and mix until I can pick the whole "blob" up with my hand.... need to get the egg mixed in well.
deal
i make one that uses tomato sauce and surround it with carrots while baking. carrots love tomato sauce.
thank you everybody
i have a standing invitation to the gal who boards my dogs - whenever there's meat loaf, she's here :)
another quick trick ruby for seasoning is to add mild salsa and top it with same
carrots sound like a good idea
My son in law makes a groove in the center, puts mozzarella cheese or similar in it, then covers it over with remaining meat. It's good too.
i hate salsa but it has everythink one might want to use for seasoning.
i make mine plain and simple - good the first day, great for sandwiches the next
these are all good ideas. If it tastes like liver (AGAIN), I'll put it in the pb
minced vegetables are great binders in lieu of bread products.
I'm getting hungry, and it's still an hour 'til supper !!
if you're in a pinch, salsa added to a can of pinto beans makes a nice side dish - you can spice it up, dress it up with onions/peppers if you want
gee thanks a lot rubes ! :P
same here welki...the plain and simple
tnx, welk will try.
hello everyone -- ugly grid for me.
It's 12"30 and I just ate a duck pate sandwich which will probably make me sick during the night. Allways a smart eater NOT
yummmmm - pate
hi, nan
dear me, you should be dreaming.
works well with black beans, too, owl
hi nan
Hi nan.... think "food" ....it makes the grid easier to take !
wish I had some duck pate!
there is a wonderful duck pate here from the Dordogne which the local store carries.
*woof*
oh i can see me in the store - do you have any duck pate from the Dordogne? "No, welki, but we have some liverwurst in a tube"
yum -- still miss the fois gras we used to be able to get, though
LOL....
lolol
there was a big flap about fois gras here. animal cruelty issues.
seriously
how about the r that begins the fourth row?
we can get the duck pate from a local italian grocery and sometimes Save-on brings it in at Christmas
and does the un word use another grid word? would love stats for that grid word
only animal cruelty issues related to fois gras? other parts are okay? just not the liver? LOLOL
TO - showed a tv program again re5
<-- will look for duck pate (but not ask where it comes from)
apparently
thanks dan
same here TO -- darned tree huggers couldn't stick to trees. We eat eggs and the laying hens are treated just as badly.
i will not eat liver. it cleanses the body, how can it be ok to eatno wonder it tastes bad.
sorry, just a statement, no indictment meant.
I have tried both pattern and attract multiple times
i like liver. liver and onions. chicken livers wrapped in bacon. chopped liver. liverwurst. pate of unknown origin. and soon - duck pate!
the problem is that it doesn't taste bad when mixed with lots of heavy cream...
my son in law is brazilian - we've had skewers of barbecued, marinated chicken hearts - yum!
(one of my sons in law)
i think it is a love it or not thing. i have been urged to taste all variations and all are equally bad to my tastebuds. i don't eat skin or fat either.
2nd nu 6, please?
nm - found it
sounds like a genetic deviation
oh no. we had a 50 car pileupon the tpke with a fatality
*sigh*
(i feel the same about lima beans, owl)
we have been making the nationsl news nightly for the past week - and not for good things.
wow -- must be really slippery on the roads, TO
i have not been out since before noon. glad of it.
Good morning all :)

Hello all. Just got back here and have 45 words to get. I bet most of them are silly plurals and verb forms. Whoa! Who made the chog wide?
hi 88 to go
Hi harp. x
Good evening all.
15 to find now.
Hell peach.
May I please have a clue for ae6-18? Thanks
Hey there, Jacula.
gapeach - ae6.18 - to fill with air.
Thanks much, Jacula.

brb

ce + have been out in the sun: ***n*d
thanks
Congrats, Jacula!!!!!!
Had to make hot chocolate. Now all is well.
why is the chog so wide?
Gail, about an hour ago
Jenny Craig isn't playing anymore :D
my chog is normal size but it does not have the time of day.
you have to scroll to the right to see the time....it's still too long
i have four left....doesn't seem like it's do-able for me tonight
Oh, good heavens, the dog was jumping on me and wacking my hand, I didn't even notice what had happened! What can I do to fix it. I am soo sorry.
this...
this...
this...
this...
this...
and this...
and this...
and this
and this...
Thanks Harp.
should be ok now...
oh, it's fixed.
Oh good!
mysterious
just have to post enough for Gail's post to disappear...
Penquis bouncing on a trampoline did the trick. lol
:oD
jacs did you break the chog>
May I please have a clue for ta5-10 the 2nd? Thanks
gail thinks she broke it, but i don't see how that is possible.
i lost interest in cleaning so returned to the grid. now i realize i have lost interest in it as well.
lol posted a long url?
oh no!
i know that feeling
TO - no, I did not. It usually happens when someone posts too pic a picture or puts too many exclamation marks or question marks at the end of a post.
i really REALLY need to clean. i dumped all of the stuff from my dad's in the spare room and one cannot even walk in it.
Or posted too long a url. Use tinyurl, folks!
love your photo, temple
thanks, mab
gapeach - 2nd ta5.10 = ta + road surfacing material.
i think it;s quit or list time
ta***d and feathered
I'm off to bed now. Happy Babbling all.xx
bye, jacs. xx
hi everyone!
I just love it when I stop the grid!
hey jen :-)
hi jen!
did you all here about the death at Arrowhead in KC last week?
no.. ?
where a man was found in the wrong Jeep and then someone hit him and he died?
wow..
good evening.
over a JEEP? wow
I happened to know the family
hi phan
hi phan
huh?
that's awful, Jen.
what was he doing in the wrong car?
no, not over the jeep ruru, they thought he was taking things from it
he was drunk
the jeep must have been unlocked
oh..
duh should have considered that
the jeep he came in was about 10 cars down
I've done that
tried to get in the wrong car
I felt pretty darn stupid
people have so much rage. i think we need prozac in the water supply.
my neighbor went to work one day and forgot to turn off the car. was still running at the end of the day.
apparently, the guy who hit him wasn't the owner of the Jeep
why'd he hit the guy?
that's such a strange tale of fate, jen
ne6/21?
he came from another group and saw a struggle and he hit Kyle in the head
wow.. that's really sad
nm
how awful!
it is, and what's worse is he had a seven-week old son
another vigilante deciding to take the law into his own hands? or someone looking for a fight?
that's terrible
probably someone looking for a fight, no one has been charged yet, waiting on toxicology results
agree with temple; we need something in the water to calm everyone, like qualudes.
pls if the un is added to a scored grid word, may i have the stats for the base word? ty. sorry to interrupt but i need my last word. ty
un7
we're already mellow out here in california.. prozac not needed :D
base word is ea5
ty jane
good night everyone. happy babbling. back to cleaning for me.

hi min
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! Hooray!
hello, hello.
hi phan
C's clobbered
don't pay any attention to o-o phan, ardvark is an at word
Cool dan2bit!
What a relief, as I was confused about that!
Hello dan2bit! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
finally fw!
way to go, Harpjane!
yeah, harpjane!
thanks for the comment ... aardvark is an an 8/40 word
Congratulations harpjane on your fireworks!Good for U!
ty for the compound word o-o.
thanks minver. I'm trying to get my "who's hot" stats above 1000 and I'm getting closer every day!
no story yet, min?
Sorry JenMO16, I did not do one?I can try to do one now though if you want me to. Might take me awhile though.
that's okay, I probably have most of the easy words now....I have 85
I need help with 2 of the J words
new ballerina miss2bit photo in my profile
which ones do you need, I have them all.
I have mostly the 4 letter words and one 5 letter word, anything longer?
all 4's and 2 fives
both 5's are plural
I have je5/20 by adding an S to a word
okay got the 2 5s
I have je4/9, je4/10, je5/20, je4/12, j4/9, and je5/20
sorry, and another je4/9
I believe you need another 4/9
ne6/21 anybody?
neither he nor she
have the cat fixed, dan
ty o-o & mab - firewords!
the last re 7?
congratulations!
newspaper takes back
ne 6/21 is commonly done to male kittens
thank you; i could not see that
thanks phanmd, I have all of the Js now
good job, Jen.
how about a 9 letter word? any of them
de9
re 9 is just like the de 9
de9=contaners for wine
de9 re9 tr9
and then there is tr 9 which is also plural, do you have the 8?
thnks!
Congratulations dan2bit on your fireworks!Good for you
what is the tr/8?
add the past tense of eat to the 5/12 above it
I'm not understanding what you are saying phan
do you have the 2nd TR 5/12?
That tr 8/45 word is tr 5/12 word + consumed JenMO16.
not sure, I have the tr5/12 where children like to do this with their hands and a pencil
change the last ltr of that word to a cross ltr
ok
got t
now add the past tense of eat to the end of that
That tr5/12 is tr plus what a thespian does and then add consumed for that tr 8/45 word JenMO16.
ok, so what is the 9?
plural it
got it
how about the e on the lower right which only has one word off of it?
hi all, i just found that line E, which is past tense of, to consume
hmmm, no, it's plural of, a bunch of people who are consuming
I have that word, gwen, I am talking about the e between the T and The N
i am missing one 8 letter word. i have the following: please tell me and clue the one missing:
sorry, got it!
ac, an, de, pa, re, se, tr. what am i missing please?
the e word: " all the food has already been ea*** by us."
clue for the r word fourth row, first column R please.
tha lone R is r5/10, when they take a tv show a play it the second time
oh dear i clued wrong e word. i think it is those who did the e**ing. they were ea*** and plural letter.
it is the plural word that you need to come from that e. the singular comes from other e.
rerun not in grid.
got it now. past tense.
ty
super clue.
pt
past tense of run is
super clue. 108 words left and going to sleep. too tired.
l.
mkg, congugation error
