TY Lickety
I hate using the Neti pot and put it off for so long and then wonder why I waited after finally giving in because it works so well. I suggest doing it while showering. Less mess.

Very hot! But fine.

It's too hot here but fans, air con etc make it bearable. It's way above what it usually is.
yw, flosey
have you got a storm brewing to make it so warm
still looking for that na 8-9 - is it a common word? in english?
it builds off the na 6 and that's usual. The 8 / 9 probably less so.

have tha na 6-7, but haven't been able to monkey an 8 from there
Like ru I've never used it - add a picnic pest, nan.

when I started I was okay but a fit from the raging bull has put a damper on the day now but Iamworking through it---I feel like the man in the desert and I feel like OO's thing today
night flosey and morning OO
but other than that Iam okay--lol
you must learn to tame that raging bull, pugs
I am doing okay ... except when I am not.
we all love you in here
Have a nice sleep, Flosey :-)
our poor Rose must be feeling bad--she was lurking and never came on chat
thanks Flosey---good night

forecast for a blizzard but not much to deal with ... my hammock is making me dizzy being blown in circles
lol
lol, sounds like you need straps to keep you inside, o-o
Must be hard to enjoy a nice cup of tea in your hammock..lol
its a good thing for indoor plumbing or we would have to tie a rope from the house to the outhouse
Gosh when i was a nipper...i remember having to go outside to the bottom of our garden when i needed the toilet...no indoor toilet at that stage..lol
how very very unpleasant! So collllld!
Just to add...the toilet was at the bottom of the garden..i just didn't pee on the flowers haha
lol zooz
after our house burnt as a kid mom and dad bought a house with indoor water but no bathroom so I know the feeling
how scary, pug, to have a fire in your home
Was it electrical fire, Pugs?
That happen when I was in the second grade
how is the weather? Already snowed in? And how are the roads?
I dont really know--either that or near the chimmey for it started in the attic
On a positive note, only 356 days until Christmas
my children's school burned down when they were small and it scared them so badly. Can't imagine how much worse it must be when it is your home.
we got about 6 inches and another 6 or more to come sunday and then bitter cold monday thru weds
too true, o-o! A nice and long wait.
*hugs pugs* Will be thinking of you, darling.
It was harder on mom and dad I think--having five kids and no home
I guess they were very grateful you all came out safely.
Wrap up nice and warm..get your snow board out and whizz down the snow hills...YAY!
;yes, though most things were lost, they were
oh nice, zooz! I can picture our pug going
thats the worse about getting out of here is several hills before hitting the main road
you will have to go hard enough to make it uphill, pug :)
her eyes watering down her face...freezing onto her skin..i am sure it would be great fun!
sounds just hunky dory Zoom
I am sure thats what i have heard people say when they have done it...wow that was fun lol
our hen's eggs are freezing before they fall out--lol
I prefer to sit in a warm home with a hot drink thanks :-)
Oh bless them..teehee
well I would too if I could
20 more minutes and then I must get dressed and go to the podologist.
lol poor hen
you riding the bike there
no, I go by car. Oh, btw, blood test results negative, no explanation for the legs/feet. Liver functions were slightly improved.
so now what
So they could not reccomend anything?
recommend*
now I am being sent to the dermatologist, to have the blood circulation in the feet checked.
how soon will you get a answer on that
no idea. First must pick up a referral, then make an appointment, and then go... might take a while.
so what are you to do in the mean while? Just swell and suffer
basically yes, lol
that dont seem right but what can you do
we lost OO! Hes frozen to the hammock!
it is not life-threatening so there is no hurry. Which means I simply have to wait. No worries, hun. I have been through much worse.
aw poor o-o! Too cold for comfort there. *sends a pre-heated blanket over*
zoom you got your fws on this grid
sprite do you have all the q words yet

Hello, Ruby :-)
How nice to see a big grid today but won' have time to do much until after lunch.

Nah ... just looking for the off button on my hammock.
{{sprite}}
pug, no not yet. Only 6 of 'm.
{{little pgs}}
it is a fun grid, ruby
{{zzoozz}}
{{o-o}}
lol o-o. Quite a picture :D
It is not very cold, about 40F, but rainy and windy. Nasty.
about the same as here, ruby
so far, this is a weird winter. And the snowbirds who come to ski must all be disappointed because conditions must be really poopy in the nearby ski areas.
the q also is used in other words
I found a few of those
do you ski Ruby
down to 9 q words now
I used to ski when we moved here, started when I was about 32. We would drive to Austria and ski at St. Anton and Lech. But the year that two neighbors, both good skiers were seriously injured, one of them fatally, I gave away my skis
wow nice, pug
I can imagine, ruby. It is a dangerous sport
I was always afraid somebody would run me over, some out of control jerk with a snowboard
Yes can hapen to anyone..look at Michael Schumacher.
I need one more re5-10 to have all the r's
ok, my alarm went off, time for me to get dressed and pick up my shoes and stuff. See you lovely people later, I hope. *hugs* to you all.
I used to ski with a teacher, mainly for protection, but still didn't feel safe
{{big hugs sprite}}
Hope your day goes well for you, Sprite.
bye Sprite --hope all goes well
two re 10s are plurals ... the third adds a vowel to the payment a tenant makes
the fourth is an ri 5/10 ... add a pismire or emmet
I have 2 re 10 that has to do with housing, Iam missing the other re 10

Found it the one i was looking for was the RE 6/18
pismires and emmets are picnic pests
Thanks for trying to help guys :-)
Iam missing a ri-10
5-10 I mean

Ok off to do sudoku for a while..need to refresh my eyes from babble.
got it==I tried it with out the pl while ago and as you said it didnt take and I didnt try it with the pl
Glad to hear that, Sprite :-)
bye for now, zooz *hugs*
I hope so Sprite
lol pug, exactly. The 'plurals' that don't seem to have a singular are so tricky!
OO gave me a new word to put in my memory bank--pismire--lol
lol!
I think its awsome how much or many words our brains can hold
you know what is interesting? The dutch word for ant is 'mier'. No doubt related to the mire part.
oh yes. and there is always room for more
I bet so
love your new ideas for puzzles, pug! Written them down and every time I have time on my hands, I only have to look at the list and off I go :)
what gets to me is I will remember some larger words and not the simple tiny ones
oh pug, that is normal in babble land, lolol. Happens to me all the time. First word I see in a grid might be crwth or ywis. And then I spent half an hour looking for something like 'book'. Our minds work in mysterious ways.
I need to clear out some on my bookmark pages--but eveytime I go there I see more I like---so now I have quit looking --lol
I have pages and pages full of bookmarks. Not sure if there is a limit, but if there is, I haven't reached it yet. I love the bookmarks.
will create the coffee cup one today. Am right in the mood for it.
good! What do you call the type of puzzles you make
kind of depends. With the owls and pigs and such, I pick the 'Animals' category. But stuff like the coffee cups, I pick the 'Mosaic' category for.
I mean your puzzles have many little pics where most is just one pic
I very much like all the 'Folk' puzzles. I think it is jaimec who puts them up.
yeah that is why I think 'mosaic' comes closest. There is no 'collage' option.
I wonder if OO likes working jigsaw puzzles
I like them if they are not too awful hard
your puzzles I mean
those Folk puzzles aren't too hard. They have clear areas that are different from all else, so you can do one part and then next part.
I still have several of yours to do yet
mine are never hard, lol
Hi all :)
that china one was a bit
hiya Liz :)
Hi Liz
I have finished that very hard coins puzzle! Took me hours, but I did it. It was so much fun. I worked it for say half an hour and then stop and do something else. Or I would have gone crosseyed.
That's how I was with Crossy's puzzle!
is that one of yours
no, from ladyjacqueline
Liz, you should try the coins one, it is even worse, lol
this is the link:L http://tinyurl.com/n4e7arv
lol! I just looked at it!
lol, the random letters in the link name that identify the puzzle spell SCUM :D
I've got jigidi bookmarked, so I can get there quite quickly and I searched her name!
if you decide to work it, here is my advice: complete coins. No matter how big or small. And work the edges first, the pieces with no coins on it.
smart Liz :D
I dont have just one type of pictures I like for Ive seen many I like in them all---but I seem to be drawn to the brighter cheerful ones
I loved your rainbows, sprite.
am so glad, Liz :) Was another of pugs' ideas.
I did too Liz--have you tried the pig one yet
I prefer colours, too, and love abstracts. I was looking at stars on google earlier today and thinking about those. could be another idea for you!
pug, I love fantasy puzzles most. And then the Folk ones, and the mosaics like my christmas stars.
writing it down, thanks Liz :)
No, not yet. It's been so hot today (and still is at 9.40 pm) that I can't spend too much time at the computer.
I also love fantasy puzzles and bookmarked the links you sent.
oh wait, I have another one for you, Liz, hold on
Brain's not working on this grid tonight. Still have 77 left and 3 q's. Perhaps I'll be able to focus better tomorrow!
http://tinyurl.com/q9lunkj I did it and it was so much fun!
it is not the easiest of grids if you ask me. I am not even halfway and I can't get any kind of speed going
Looks fun. Have bookmarked it.
Well sudoku was way too easy today :-(
Thanks.
Hi zooz :)
awwww poor zooz. We want our sudokus to be a challenge, right?
good night then Liz and hope you can get refreshed for tomorrow
And i can not do jigi as xbox does not allow it.
Hello, Liz :-)
Not leaving just yet, pugs.
don't you have a normal pc then, zooz?
good - didnt mean to push you out
you are missing out Zoom
Just had a look at the pigs - I like the pig in wellies! Made me chuckle!
No mine broke ages ago, Sprite and have not got another one yet...i kicked my last one in frustration and knackered the hard drive...got new hard drive for it...but the computer just would not start.
lol Liz, I usually don't do animals in clothes, but this one was too funny to resist
Yes i know, Pugs, I have been on there & i see some wonderful puzzles to complete.
aw poor zooz! Such frustration.
Still will get a new one soon i feel.
I also don't like animals in clothes - but some things do just make me chuckle and that was something which did just that!!
yeah if you can, do it, zooz. If you like jigsaws, jigidi is paradise.
you should of asked santa to bring you one Zoom--lol
I know...i used to use it before..loved it.
I am not waiting that long now, Pugs, hahaha
and I do requests, lol. I discovered that I love creating puzzles with several images around one theme
I never thought I'd like virtual puzzles as much as I do!
I really like your style of puzzle, sprite. It's like completing lots of little puzzles!
me either but they got so many good ones there its hard to pass them up
me neither. Always thought it so irritating that the pieces are already in the upright position, and you can't easily pick up a piece etc. But it isn't true. It is different from real puzzles, but it is fun in itself and some are very challenging.
true, Liz! That makes them easier than most.
I saw on the news a while ago some person was completing something like a 30 thousand piece jigsaw and the cameras was there to see...as she was raising money for charities..and with about 50 or so pieces to complete it...it collapsed as she had it at an astute angle...devastatinjg or what.
pugs, tr8/40 is another 'plural' that has no singular.
omg zooz. Omg.
Bunches of hugs to you all but I need to get off and get ready to brave the eliments :( Wishing you each a good day or evening---bye dear friends
You too, Puglet, Have a great day.
That's true. We started another Colin Thompson one today - we talked about him once before. Called Yesterday's Treasures. Fun and challenging.
Have a lovely day pugs - hugs to you.
pug, I will be right with you in thought. Stay safe and *hugs*
I think the lady still got all the monies for charity.
Stay safe :)
She must've been so frustrated even so.
Oh i agree..poor lady.
Ok time for luch....have a wonderful day/night everyone...bacl later.
you too, zooz *hugs*
Lunch...........*poof*
Have a good day zooz - hugs
Too hot for me in here tonight. headed to the air-conditioned bedroom. Have a good day sprite and be well. Hugs :)
bye Liz, I hope you will feel cooler soon. *hugs*
Saw the chat earlier and just joined Jigidi---wow---what a great site!

SORRY, NAP TIME
good morning all- nice grid for a snowy day :-)
Good Morning, Wolvie.
Good day to all. 4 degrees below zero here! Brrr.
Good morning, scrabs.
hekko, babblers.
Although with temps like that, I wouldn't call it a good morning.
How is the storm there, Owl?
is that air temp or apparent temp?
True temp is minus 4.
morning Scrabs and TO :-)
"Feels like minus 17" per Weather Channel.
hi wolvie
Thus I have not gone out to end of driveway to fetch the newspaper.
it is over. i think we got 4"
Hi Wolvie
Blizzard watch here
And what is temp there, o-o?
Good morning, o-o.
hi o-o :-)
Is it still snowing there, o-o?
Name that proper noun: princess of Star Wars.
Leha
Lehe
the snow will not be a problem; the wind and cold will be deadly.
Close, Bea
6°F -14°C I haven't been watching.
Most schools in and around Buffalo are closed.
for once, the city - and southern nj - got more than we did.
leia
wow that is cold!
*ding*ding*ding*
I was running out of options.
good morning, everyone. stats for the N 5th column fourth row?
o-o, what is your phantom today?
morning lbd- dont have that myself sorry
Hi dawg
Morning, lbd. I think it is na6/21
hi wolvie, hi scrabs
Scrabbler, I noticed the other day that you talked about your brain quirk - seeing words and figures as people speak. I have the same experience - it's called ticker-tape synaesthesia.
good morning everyone:)
Good Morning, Mr. Hair.
hi crossy and Haz :-)
Hello, Wolvie and everyone.
hello cross and haz
Wow, Haz! I have read about synesthesias but have never found a description of what my brain does, nor have I known someone with the same quirk.
hi bzzz, crossy and haz. if that na6/21 is the sick feeling one, it comes from the N in the 3rd row
found one from that n- plural na 6/21- ill feeling
I honestly didn't realise it was anything unusual until I was talking one day about my inner transcript writer - I got a very strange look.
can you give an example
I asked other people about it and they just looked at me as if I were mad.
hi TO, and o-o
Hello
Then it could be the na8 or na9. Both from the na6
TO, I 'see' the words as people speak or even as I think. It works in foreign languages I've learnt as well.
wow.
hi dawg
ty, Wolvie
yw lbd, and ty bea
you have captioning enabled, all the time
The major disadvantage is if you're in company with a group of people and they're all talking at once. I have to zone out because I can't transcribe everyone at the same time.
Haz, I am so excited to learn this. I learn foreign languages the same way.
nbt, nbs!
how did you find out it had a name?
Yes, I suppose captioning is a way to describe it. I just see the words - not in colour or anything but it's impossible for me not to see the word spelled out.
Wow! I'm not sure I would like to have something like that, Haz.
Yes, Haz! I am easily overwhelmed in large groups and prefer being with just a few people.
I was pleased to see I wasn't the only one, Scrabbler!
Yes, Haz, it is impossible for me to not see the words. I am listening to the TV now and see those words.
It's been so much a part of me that I honestly didn't know it was different or unusual.
you would make a great closed captioner
I also see shapes with music, tough to explain.
and no wonder you are sensitive to grammatical errors!
Absolutely, TO - the things just jump out at me.
lol and all this from my tidbit about people "tasting" music;)))
life can be interesting:)
gets ideas going,people talking,connecting. I love it
Scrabbler, there are a few articles online about ticker-tape synaesthesia. Some people see words in colour, just to be different.
Haz, I am thrilled toe I hear this. Never in my reading of synesthesias have I read this. I have read about how people see colors with numbers.
Do you two employ a form of selective inattention: Act of ignoring or otherwise screening out of stimuli that are threatening, anxiety-producing, or felt to be unimportant. Conscious or unconscious failure to pay attention to specific physical or emotional input.
Do you see this as an advantage, Scrabs and Haz?
I can zone out, if that's what you mean.
It's neither an advantage nor a disadvantage, it's just how I am. I can't imagine not seeing the words.
very interesting stuff- i used to have an eidetic memory- but after getting in a bad car accident years ago- it is not so eidetic anymore- sometimes can still recall like that but not most of the time
Well, I am highly introverted and have a highly sensitive brain. I require much solitude and avoid busy settings.
if a word were new to you, could you possibly see it misspelled?
but i have never had what you guys are describing
must be cool :-)
perhaps when you were a child?
That's the thing - if I hear people speaking a language I don't know, it's just noise.
have either of you read Oliver sacks on this subject? I recommend musicophilia but he had others
I realized this quirk late in high school, maybe age 17, when I realized I could "see" the pages of books, or my notes. This was a huge advantage throughout my education.
I can't remember far enough back to know when this began - I was an early reader, I know that much, and am very word orientated.
Owl, if I don't know the correct spelling I must look it up in a dictionary.
Yes, I can visualise pages in books but I wouldn't claim to have a photographic memory.
Very interesting conversation.
I felt guilty in college and med school, as I did not have to study nearly as much as classmates.
on a side of all this, here is a perfect analogy of a introvert, of which I am also one... http://me.louisem.com/50/understanding\n-introverts
Agreed, if someone says a word or a name I don't know, I have to have it spelled out before I can make sense of it.
sorry ,I broke the chog a tiny bit
I can recall which page and where on the page a word is, e.g. left page, upper.
i dated someone like that. as a child, if the showed him a corner of one of his baseball cards, he could recall all of the player stats on the card.
isn't that the same as a "photographic memory"? Hi folks, have been lurking and working
My mother tells me that I didn't talk much til age 3. I suspect that once I learned letters and phonics that life became easier for me. I have been a voracious reader since then.
hi aloy :-)
I do have an eidetic memory, but I must stare and study a picture or page to install it in my hard drive.
Haz, after zoning out, if someone asks you a question about the conversation, what do you say?
I just have to confess that I haven't been listening.
Friends have noticed that I don't join in with lots of conversation going on - I have a slightly glazed expression, I think.
I also have a "calendar" in my head. I "install" significant dates in there, e.g. birthdates of friends, family, even patients.
Does your calendar go from right to left?
Me too, Haz. Read Elaine Aron's book: The HIghly Sensitive Person. We withdraw when overwhelmed by stimuli.
I see the week as starting on Monday, proceeding left to Sunday.
There was a man in my home town that knew the birthday of every one in town. That is how he would greet you. "Hello, July 16."
I see the entire month, Haz, and then scan down the months, Jan-Dec.
well that is convenient.
I am better with numbers that words. Phone numbers, birthdates...
And with me, definitely words.
So, there you are, you're not as odd as you thought, Scrabbler.
Haz, I don't feel quite so weird anymore. ((Haz))--you are my synesthete sister!
I think Hibs has read that book. His therapist recommended it.
Hubs
Ya, well, God always loved you two best ...
There, I'm glad we have found each other..
That book helped me a LOT! There is one for kids too.
I'll look for the book, it sounds interesting.
Anyway, lunch time here. See you later!
o-o, the human brain is utterly amazing, and we all have unique strengths.
bye, haz. nice to see you. happy new year.
Hubs gave it to our daughter to read because he thought it would help her with our grandson.
bye Haz :-)
most interesting and a very good skill to have ,ladies:))
Be well, Haz
Bye, Haz.
bye, Haz
sometimes when we are out, music blaring, having a good time, i am enjoing it and all of a sudden a switch goes off and i must go. i just shut down and i have to get out of there. i attribute it to fatigue.
happy new year, Haz
Like I am want to say, if you need a little information, come to me .... I have as little as anybody.
that is like me TO you get overwhelmed with external imput after a while
Owl, your brain get overloaded and needs rest.
my nerves get all "jangly"
it is hard to explain. it disturbs people.
does not disturb me.i understand it totally
Extroverts don't understand the introvert brain.
ta7/28?
the link I posted on introverts give a good explanation you can give to people who do not get it

It is one of the best descriptions I have seen. When I read it several months ago I was, "THat's it!"
chocolate flavored? did not know!
taking a break- keep getting distracted from working on grid lol- bb later
mmm, just looking at cnn to see how the American east got hit. Other than Boston, the rest of it looks like a typical Monday morning here;))
Minus 5 here now, with "real feel" temp of minus 17. Fahrenheit here.

ergo the hot cream of wheat
Most unforunate.
the 40s? omg ,alloy, you must be frozen...:))
Crossy, why would you even try to open a window now?
scrabby,i hate "sealed rooms" even if I can open it an inch for just a little bit tocirculate the air I feel better
same here, crossy
no pity party here.. not after watching the national weather on tv
i feel, entoumbed when everything is sealed tight
even in winter, i will open the window even just a bit for a few time each day
nice to see the goose and the volcano.. brb, have to check something out in email
Well, I run outside on to the front deck when I have hot flashes
claustrophobic is the word when the ice captures the windows
Happy New Year, everyone! Just popping in for a moment to say hello...lots of work to do this morning.
Hi Mimi
hi, mimi
Crossy, I feel closed up in the summer here...too hot to even have a window open a little...awful.
Hi, Scrab! Hi, welki!
back.. confirmed, an ISC Scrabble date at 10am.. hi Mimi, Happy New Year!
Scrabb;er, with all that snow, how often do you have to go on the roof to check to see if the ducts are plugged?
((Aloy))
un 7/44 - clue please
think Phoenix wins the award for the nicest weather right now, Mimi
((mimi)) have not seen you since before new years eve!. the mrs. and i even raised a glass for you since we knew you would be on your own for it
o-o, I used to get ice dams and then water leaked inside, so I got a steel roof over 10 yrs ago.
((crossy)) Actually, I had plans for the Eve...sang with my band at a little party...lots of fun.
OK found it
un 6 -- add what tom dooley found out about; pl
Yes, Aloy, it is nice here now...but has been cold enough in the mornings to turn heat on. I'm totally enjoying my balcony---it looks like a little tropical oasis. The solar lights are gorgeous at night.
when we had our home, o-o ,it was just a habit to eyeball the roofline when you go out. check all the vents etc. we had this wonderful long handled aluminum roof "rake" to clear the load, but often you had to get your butt right up there to clear the vents themselves
i am glad you got our and had fun mimi:))
It was good to sing again for people...that's the most fun I can have...love it.
:))
though we had woodstove for main and electric baseboard for back up so we had no natural gas or propane or oil furnace vents to deal with
Had a great Christmas with my family. My grandsons are adorable but a real handful. There was a room full of adults and even though they did not know me yet, they kept coming to me to play and help with their presents...made me happy.
the attic vent and the waste pipe vet were the only two as i recall
the second un 7/44 -- adds the hush of silence
have to go, too many interruptions, aargh.. oh well, 106 to find later when I find some peace and quiet too, lol.. tc all, ciao for now... oh, mimi.. just read your post, made me smile too!
Bye, Aloy

Oh hi Teach, here's some hot chocolate for you too.
Crossy needs it more than I do. They're busting up and burning the furniture to keep warm up there in the great white north.
Yes, but apparently they like it like that up there.
Really. Any excuse to wear the bear skins and beaver mittens.
Molly! Thanks for the hot chocolate..they declared a snow emergency in NY
Hi Snow Bunnies.
hi hego
*pelts Hego with snow balls*
OUCH!!
Looks pretty bad up your way Annie. We only got a few inches, but everything is frozen since it's only 16 degrees, wind chill 5.
*tosses marshmallows for hot chocolate*
*Catches mallows in cup*
How much snow did you get in the big city, Annie?
Need hot choc after Judi pelting.
we have about 7 inches.
There is a picture on the front page of Yahoo of a kid lying in Times Square, making a snow angel. I hope her mother disinfects her when they get home.
We got about 8 inches but the wind is fierce
:)
Bad wind here also
Hee hee. Hopefully the cold has killed all the street germs.
Wind gusts are 40-50 miles per hour here.
wow!
Brrrr. Them's hibernation temps fer sure.
winds gusts are the same here
thank goodness for a large grid. :)
Hubby and I were watching the "snow devils" swirl down the street in front of our house this a.m. He mentioned something about going out to shovel. Ha!
He should stay in. the low temps are dangerous.
We both have 4X4 vehicles, so no problem getting out of the driveway anymore. I told him to dig out the mailbox. Otherwise, bugger the shoveling.
It was actually colder at Thanksgiving when we went to central NY. Single digits then. No wind though.
upper left t is hard.
Ooh! Just broke 100.
amazing judi!
Suddenly want sausage
hello all.....minus 4 degrees F here, still snowing and windy....ugh!
Hi Penq
Hi, penquis. Cuddle up and Babble.
at some point i will have to go and shovel out my car....
Pen, you must have knitted a blanket to cover your whole house by now. : )

Just refreshed to change my icon and can now see Judi's new one too.

Well, small world, Peng!
yes....i went to a national conference once and met someone who lived on the same street as my cousin in a small NJ town....
yes, I have been there to visit my cousin....nice town...
We're a little outside of town. Away from the college hub bub.
my cousin lived on Mulberry St.....i think it's very close to the next town over....her husband still lives there...
Go Fightin' Blue Hens!!
blue hens..sounds fierce.
lol....and Newark had the regional little league champs....they played in the World Series....
Be afraid, be very afraid.
:)
Delaware isn't exactly known for outstanding wildlife. I think the next choice after a chicken was a muskrat.
but they do have a lot of chickens....purdue??
Lots of chicken farms in Kent and Sussex County. We only have three counties. That's how small Delaware is.
Dumb un word, make your head bare.
yes...you can un it but you can't re it....lol
Ty, hego. I'm working on the U's now.
lol Penq
yw judi
i will have to list....reached 41 to go with nbt and nbs a while ago....hitting a brick wall....
Love the shore in Sussex County. Other than that, well, they don't call it "Lower, Slower Delaware" for nothing. : D
Ah, the famous wall.
omg. this is so true! http://tinyurl.com/lnes5j6
"Slower lower" actually. Kent County is the slower part. Mostly farms. Although the state capital is in Dover.
my cousin had moved there from Philly after a break in at her house (she'd lived there more than 40 yrs.)....
when one is driving through Delaware it seems that all roads lead to Dover....
All roads lead to I 95.
Dover is not terribly impressive. It's more like a small town than a state capital. Blink and you'll miss it.
i was going down route 1, i think....on my way to outer banks, nc....
Un6/30 and Un7/34? Any clues?
have been to Wilmington for a conference, but did not see anything there....
to take down a painting from the wall....
Not much to see in Wilmington either, Penquis. More of a city than Dover. Some parts are nice, the rest of it is an armpit as far as I'm concerned. Lots of crime.
Ty for the un clues!
what i suspected given what i saw...
yw
Time for a break! BBL! *POOF*
bye
202 to go
Go Jane!
can someone clue the second ge 8 word please?

Good job Molly! ty!
that is one evil word,ty
Hi Crossy
howdy, hego;)
:)
ty Molly....i forgot that i had asked for a clue....i would never have found that word...
I thought that was unusual for you Penq.
halfway. bbl....
hello all may I have a clue for the 9 please
NA 9/60 - things that cause you to throw up
tyvm wvt
ends with picnic pests
build on na 6
Poof!

Team Bichon: Keeping Your Driveway Shoveled And Ice Free : )
AS 4/4
Do you know how long I've been nagging Mr. Bich to get a snow blower? I'm 67 and am too old to be shoveling
ty teach
Why is he not on board with that Bich?
yvw bichon - good job on the shoveling - haven't even got the sidewalk yet here
It is good excerise, but really.
No, if it were up to him he'd have a self-push mower
I can think of at least a dozen better ways to get exercise.
like your icon Molly
Hello babbleworld, nice short Friday work day...home to babble!
What I meant was, what does he have against snow blowers?
hello jilly
He has nothing against snow blowers, he just wants to shovel. That would be fine with me, except I have to finish what he doesn't do. Sometimes that's the entire driveway
Hmm, maybe it's time you buy yourself a snow blower then. : )
I could do that. Very easily, but I would have to hear about it all the time
hi Jilly
Hello bichon, molly and teach!
I am bitching about Mr. Bich, the Luddite
wouldn't that be Biching?
Buy the snowblower and let Mr Bichon bitch on... ;)
Now I'm tempted. I know, I'll tell him I got positive support from the babble chog
Get a snowblower and do your half of the drive way and let him shovel the rest :D
That is what I was thinking Ru.
good idea ruru. However there was the time I talked him into getting a self-propelled mower and then decided it was too hard for me to handle
remove the spark plug when you are done your half and take it with you
Or better yet, hire a young, handsome guy to shovel/snow blow your half. : D
crossy, you are too evil
:)
hello everybody
((ruby))
We have a former neighbor who comes back to snow blow a couple of our neighbors. I could always pay him
hi ruby
I'm glad I don't live in snow country any longer
think I'll eat lunch now and see if it puts me in a better mood
hello ruby
hello foo
Everybody wants to live in a warmer climate where there's no snow. However, I see in the future global warming and people in those climates bitching about their AC bill
you guys are a riot! Just read over the chog
}}crossy}}
{{bichon}} keep on biching and if he says anything about the snowblower you buy, say "I can't hear you"
hello ru and teach and molly
we have endless rain and it's about 40F, very strange weather but better than what you have on the East Coast. My poor sister is in NY and miserable with the snow and wind
hi all, plenty of snow here but walkway and sidewalk not shovelled
ruby, I started a scrabble game a few days ago if you still want to play
hi peri, how are you feeling?
better at the moment, thanks. nights are the worst
Peri, don't you dare take your sick self out there and shovel snow.
I won't
maybe Bich can send her Luddite up there to help you :D
we have a snow plow that would be easier but neither my sister or I know how to use it
peri, feel better
no one walking around looking to earn money :(
thanks bichon
I have never not shovelled since I have been here
Who does know how to use it and why aren't they?
does anybody know the poet Mary Oliver? She has a book of poems called Dog Songs that is a "must-read" for dog lovers. It will break your heart and make you smile at the same time
bro in law is at work. someone else might be able to figure it out but that is another story
I might be able to figure it out but Molly will holler at me if I go out there
I would never holler at you Peri. I might holler at the someone else though. : )
well hollering at someone else here gets nowhere
less than worthless
I have very low tolerance for laziness.
it is that and other issues
it would not be that way tho if it were my house
Crap, my mom's sodium level is low and her surgery for Monday has been cancelled.
sorry to hear that Jilly
what surgery was she scheduled for?
an7 pls
so sorry jilly
nm
spinal fusion...she is in so much pain that she is declining rapidly from not being able to walk, fall risk as well
oh dear, that is not good
that is awful, jilly! Hopefully, she'll have real relief afterwards
good friend is scheduled for spinal surgery on Monday - having a titanium rod placed to straighten out her spine to help stop the pain
Just turne 94 yesterday, but previous was up, mobile and walking/using exercise bike 30" day.
In great health
that is good health
Now she can barely walk, needs cane/walker. She was here on New Years, I was really disturbed by how much she has declined in just a few weeks.
Not to mention worried about what they even can do to correct the sodium.
what causes low sodium levels?
en7 pls
en7 = ask about; uses high-point letter
ty Erda was looking at the wrong E
YW
Age, medications can cause it. I am worried as I don't think it may be able to be corrected.
:(
WEll, there are other options than surgery, we have a pain clinic here, she could get the nerves oblated
oblated?
having the nerves oblated sounds like a better option
makes it so they are damaged and cannot send the pain signals any more
it's like a root canal for the spine, no?
Much better description ruby...thanks...
help with th7 pls
at her age, I would opt for that as a first step
That's where I started. I work that clinic and asked the MD, he recommended seeing the neurosurgeon first
And until Wednesday I felt she was an excellant surgical candidate...now not so sure with her rapid decline
nm found it on morewords
I think with the oblation, if it works, you get back on your feet faster than with a fusion
Well, finally nbt/nbs...that bottom left i gave me fits...only have 69 words though
do you want stats for some of the longer words, Jilly
It may be something that she would be more appropriate for now. I think the pain clinic MD felt surgery would be more corrective
down to 38 left
cool...
i am down to 13 but stalled...
Well, going to take a quick break...will pop over to scrabble as I think i have something there ;)
sa 6,30 clue please?
a french bag
bye jilly, good luck with the decision-making
uses high point tile Erda
is that name-calling ruru?
was just going to ask that ruby
ruby did you see my question re Scrabble?
Got it -- TY all
no, but I challenged you in fb, peri
where is the question?
in what game? I started a scrabble game on FB with you ruby, do you still want to play
yes, peri, I'll go there now
good night everybody else
that would be a "french old bag" if I was name calling :D
uh oh, that might be me!!!
but the accent gives me away
lol....i actually got that word from the clue!
it is actually a women's hip length jacket....i grew up speaking French and never heard that one....
a jacket, I did not know that
like a sack dress, i guess...
I always thought it was what you put babies in
bbl
*woof*
my mother had a sacoche....or saquoche?....that is what she called her handbag...
the first spelling is correct.....iTranslate says it means bag...
an 6/18?
I only have the an 6/21 pen
thanks for checking

For some reason, marching bands love that song. Very different rendition with tubas. : D
hi Molly.. it is just fun to sing along with
Note to self - Don't ever have vertical blinds with cats.
hi Bea
Hello all.
aaaaaaaack, been there, Bea! my sister's Irish Wolfhound destroyed a set jumping up on them, so dogs can be hazardous to blinds too
it is a mistake to watch daytime tv when housebound. too many food comericals.
advertisers are savvy, TO (-:
doggone it, missed that ts6 fly!
i am craving things i would normally stick my nose up at.
Vertical or horizontal, well, any window hangings with cats can be an issue...mine like to 'play' the horizontal ones in my bedroom in the middle of the night
the pipes in my kitchen are frozen...no water....have opened the cupboard doors and have the hair dryer running....
One of the first ones I got this morning, Aloy.
had a feeling there was a ts word, but didn't see it
*hands aloy a fly swatter and a can of raid*
lol, tyvm TO
sorry penguis.. hopefully no breaks. We had that happen twice, no fun :-(
*hands aloy a glass of chardonnay*
Oh dang it penquis...that is not good
oh no, pen.
i must remember to open my cabinets tonight
gotta go look for the ts word now...
or maybe today. normally keep heat low downstairs and hunker in upstairs.
i cranked up the heat too....bathroom still has water...
swatted it!
wtg, Jilly!
'Allo all.
hi cosdem, how are you doing?
i am very lazy but this woman in the chew made me get up and get the remote just to get her the heck off. what a voice!
hi
Not bad. trying to figure out why my upper legs have been hurting for two days but im not allowed on webMD
what is the "chew"?
its a dumb talk show, aloy.
a rip off the view
oh, have never seen it, ty... do you have med student's syndrome, cos, i.e., when you read about something it affects you?
yes yes I do!
ahh, then I agree you should NOT be on WebMd!
stuck on the second un 7/44 ?
everytime i check webMD i always come to the conclusion I'm dying lol
un + NOT noisy
thanks aloy
thanks aloy

look up treacle in more words and read the first line... you will get the clue there
does it use teh l?
also a word will not be accepted if you have only the ON words displayed, i think...
NEVER MIND I just remioved the l and it worked
i just opened the under sink cabinet doors. wondeing if i will have to keep w ater dripiing overnight.
a plumber just told me to keep it dripping until the temp goes up....
yes, if you apply too much heat it may burst. do you think wqrapping it will help
to thaw it
it might....
but i am running a hair dryer...
Did i see EN5 on the list ?
i never think to buy those insulators. hard to install on the trap
en + our babble uu***
Good reminders. I'm going to leave the cabinet doors open overnight so the room heat can get to them.
time to begin another chore. then will be able to have another go at the grid. trying to make the day productive.

YAY !!!! FOR PENQUIS

And congrats to you!
ty!
thanks for the reminder about how to prevent frozen water pipes - passed it on. seems all common sense, but unless you've experienced it, seems plausible not to think of it at all
sorry, bichon....i got confused....half my mind is on my frozen kitchen pipes!
OK, need clues for the en7/8 plz
the red cross has a good article on what to do before and after: http://tinyurl.com/d5bjgmt
to ask about something, jill....
Jilly, en 7 -to ask about something, sounds british
*thunk* ty penq...how are the pipes BTW?
ty, welkie...
snap, pen
I seem to be ignoring the qu today
good afternoon, folks, really appreciated the streak of clues that just happened, got me to 1/2 way. Now, I can list...
Hope everyone is warm and toasty, it is pretty cold here. In the teens, though I understand that is quite balmy compared to other folks.
hi phan.....temp is up to 1 degree....windchill is about -25...
Wow phand..I admit to some distractions doing grid, but I only have 91
you can keep that!
kitchen pipes are frozen....
in the tens i ohio too phan, but at least the sun is out nlw and the t feet of snow doesn t look so bad from my window...... 'course , i'm not out there shoveling it.. walter is
I did see that in the chog. What are you going to do?
we only got 3.5-4 inches of snow. So shoveling wasn't that bad at least from what I saw from my window!
our kitchen sink back onto an outside wall, so ehen it is freezing out.. we leave the doors open and heat from the house keeps the pioes from freezing
yes, i have the doors open and am running a hair dryer...sink is nice and hot.... i think the frozen part is in the basement (apartment building)....
Balmy 37 here. No snow on ground, spit snow this morning and is now nice and sunny
<---calls landlord for penquis
That was quick thinking, Jill!
i have talked to the landlord 4 times...
<---is very good at turfing responsibility!
and he isn't being proactive for you at all?
Well, he may regret his noninterest financially!!
he's actually in Florida, lol...his daughter was here on another matter with a contractor....he told me to run the hair dryer.....my sink is nice and hot but no water.....that's why i think the problem is downstairs...
good morning/afternoon, everyone :)
Hello cyber!
well, how nice for him to be in balmy Florida!
you can report him to the board of health.
yes, isn't it?
hi nan...
i don't want to alienate him....
not so balmy today in central florida - 44F and windy!
actually, it's quite cold in Flla right now.
i know, i know - at least no snow
poor Penq.
wow, monkeyed teh ge8!
Hello hego!
hi Jilly
may I have a clue for that, Jill?
incredible monkeying Jill.
<---puts thinking cap on...
really hard to clue!
ge8= making hand ge*tures+single hump letter+school kids eat in a cafet****
nice clue...
very good!
very nice, Jilly!
my brains hurt! lol
I was trying to remember Molly's clue.
just talked to the landlord....my sink is hot to the touch from the hairdryer....still no water....i think it is in the basement but he disagrees.....says he can't get a plumber (his usual one is in NC)....so i shut off the hair dryer because it was going too long...
it's not much of a problem for me because I have water in the bathroom...
That doesn't sound very helpful!
If a pipe bursts, he will have major problems.
pen, just a thought, can you get a plumber and have him bill your landlord?
well, just over 100...break time...bbl...hope things don't flood penquis!
trying to figure out what to add to the sick word to get the na 8 and 9
yes, but that will be his problem, i guess....
think of me, i am a ten***, not a home owner
phand, add the picnic pest
Oh, yes it will be his problem! But It's not nice to have your stuff ruined too
exccept you will still have no water.
oh, thanks, Pen and Annie
i have water in the bathroom...
pen, If I were you, I would call and plumber and have him bill your landlord
just can't run the dishwasher....
a, not and
na 9-10 -- add picnic pest(s)
he has tried other plumbers....says his own house pipes are frozen and can't get anyone to go there...
What! no dishwasher!!
lol...
barbaric!
and it's full....wouldn't you know it?
Hi guys.
Of course.
hi gramma
It's time to ask for some help. TR8? please.
help with the first sa6 please?
prefix for three + cook pasta al d**** + plural letter
sa....anatomical bag + ask a ****tion....
TY
Looks like my daughter and SIL got lucky. They are flying back to San Diego today. Their flight here is delayed an hour and they were going to get into Chicago when their connecting flight was leaving, now that flight has been delayed an hour and a half, so other than getting in late, it looks like they wont be grossly inconvienienced.
thanks!
1 left
that's great, phan...
hi Cos
yes, especially since it looks like both their flights are the last of the day...
*Laughs silently at "anatomical bag" *
well you are from the island of not gotten jokes, molly... ;o)
I always laugh to myself at the sh4
Oh I am not from there, I just see a lot of jokes go there. *Sniff*
mostly Ruru's
ah...
yes, perhaps that should be his icon....;o)
He would laugh at that.
Island of the Misfit Jokes
Ruru's jokes are good. He just plays a tough room.
I always get him.
Well, to be misfit, they would have to be bad. I was thinking more of good jokes that sail right over people's heads.
those are the ruru ones.
Oh those jokes.. yeah...
well, I am down to 49 left. The cat box is calling my name, guess I better deal with it...
Ew!
Yes, I know...
why I have no pets anymore.
lol thats ryans job.
I put stuff in their mouth. he takes care of what comes out the other end
I keep saying that I am not going to get anymore, but I keep seeming to...
Ryan gets all the fun stuff
My husband says the same thing to me...
poor Ryan.
first re 6 anyone?
Anybody watch the movie Donnie Darko?
I have. THats Ryans favorite movie.
hego, to put the picture up again
Do you get it?
Not really. I pretend I do to just shut Ryan up.
... first one I've got involves executing with a rope again
... and don't forget to do it in the third person too
ty, Annie. Feeling dumb.
nah, hego
ty dose and Hi!
Glad to hear it. I was thinking it was just me.
Hi Bea
hi Bea and dose
Hi, hego.
I tihnk its normal not to understand that movie
Afternoon, Annie.
Has a great cast.
which movie is that?
Donnie DArko
My two kittens love to sit on my keyboard.
I can't work when I have to work. They are on my lap now, but when they wake up, they start typing like madmen.
I just read the plot of Donnie Darko and it is as clear as the movie Memento.
oh no! Annie.
and when I finished reading the plot I said to myself, What?
Kap do you remember a piece of music called kittens on the keyboard?
Ack! I killed the chog!
Kitten on the Keys - Zez Confrey I play it, but it's a tricky one.... sometimes sounds like a cat if my fingers are stiff !!
ty Diane, that was it!
You didn't kill the chog, .... I was pleased to open it up and see you!
Molly?
I have to go check my soup and start the turkey, be back later.
Awww... ty Diane.
Peri, how are you?
Bye Annie.

glad to heaar it.
but I did not do any shovelling :)
glad to hear that too.
I seem to feel worse at night

Soodle, were you the one that recommended Maeve Binchy?
Tourism is expected to go through the roof this summer Soodle! Cheap hotel rates!
Lol Cos! Jilly, I can't remember recommending Maeve Binchy, but , if I didn't, I should have!! Have you read some of her books?
Read Copper Beech and now Minding Frankie. My new tablet has really gotten me back into reading.
help with the first ha6 please?
compound like ha+snake letter+Shakespears Ham***
Ah! I loved Maeve Binchy. I was sad when she passed away. Her books are evocative, timeless & human. When I grow up, I want to be like Maeve Binchy.
thanks much!
We have to grow up?

Hi lizlin!
Oh, I wish her every happiness. And I wish her friend, Jill would come & visit! Hey Cos!!! Whoo-Hoo!
haven't read Maeve Binchy in years - but loved what I read of hers.
She was quite the prolific wrtier....that makes it hard to choose books!
Reading Maeve Binchy is like eating comfort food. You get a nice, comfy, homely feeling.
Can't put her books down!
Maeve Binchy's like Xanax. Only in book form.
Ok. I'm a fan! I think I got my message over. It's late here. Good night.
Sleep well Soodle
Niters soodle dear!
hi all -- back to finish this time, hopefully
I keep saying that too cyber!

Hope you are keeping warm over there - have been reading about the snow storms and record lows.
ge 8, please?
Which one?
ge 8/50, please?
I'll try!
ge + first 2 letters of a facial grimace - then a similar ending (4 letters) to the other ge 8 but swap the last letter for a vowel.
ge+snake letter+plus half hump+eating in a cafet****
I could try and spell it more clearly but don't want to be too obvious!
Jilly's clue's better!
ty jilly --- new one for me
Okay, stuck on ta5/14
I have a question. Each time I try to enter a word, a list of words I have used pops up. Ihave a new computer. this did not happen on my old one. I now havewindows 8.
ty to liz too
Hmmm, I have Win8 too, doesn't happen to me, not sure...if crossy's around, he might be able to help...
My mac does something similar - you mean they appear as a list under the add words?
yes
I think it's just the memory of the computer - kind of like a spell check - trying to be helpful!!!!
Hmmm Kind of annoying
I just ignore it!
you can dig into your settings and make it stop doing that.
Sometimes it has been useful though when I've been looking for a word.
LOL Guess I'm going to have too! Thanks
I will try the settings too!
i don't have windows and don't know how it works, but most machines allow you to shut off the 'suggested text' option.
There's probably a system preferences or similar, somewhere.
Or you could google the question.

Congrats, Jilli :)
Jilly
Sorry!

Hey, never a problem to have my name like my 'sisters'...
I know that but still ...
And now must toddle off to make dinner, home french dip with our new years prime rib left overs!
Bon appétit and have a good evening. Keep warm.
Not too bad hear, but it is snowing!!
Looking at my system now. Thanks for ll of your suggestions. :)

+2C here --- will make for slippery roads if it freezes tonight
Playing with icon again---let's see if it worked.
Liz, do you see a moon and a star?
it is 0 F here right now...
beautiful sunset
pretty crescent and star now
Not yet Mimi - and hi. But yes, in your profile, so probably if you log out and back in, it will show.
Creeping close to 40 C here - heatwave!

i see a star....and i reloaded and still see a moon and star
I see it here on mine...wanting to find new ones and trying this one out for now.
Now I see it!
I saw that you discovered Jigidi, Mimi :)
Hooray! Maybe I can get more creative with the icon. Yep, Liz---fabulous puzzles--just what I need...more incentive to "waste" time!
Same here - they are very addictive. I love sprite's puzzles and crosses' woodland scene was just evil! Beautiful, but evil!
I just ordered a digital camera so be prepared to get pics of my new balcony oasis, the cats, the grandkids...but not of me just now...maybe old pics of me when I was still pretty....
Look forward to seeing them :)
Well, you know, Liz, now that my looks are gone, I must settle for being "colorful."
I saw that you had a lovely time with the grandkids :)
oh. i know the feeling about 'when i was pretty' but i bet you are still pretty. i am, just older.
I don't believe your looks are gone!
i agree with mab!
th 7-8 combo, please?
You're both dears...thank you. Must go feed cats and get ready to go out for a bit. Hugs all around and Happy New Year, everyone!

Hi there, Min. I'm OK. Hope you are as well.
well the plumber went in the basement and did something....also had the hair dryer on in the kitchen...he said the wind is worse than the cold for pipes....
hi peach

About an hour northeast of Jackson, north of Ann Arbor
OK. I have some friends in Jackson.
brb
ah, have you been to Michigan before then?
I'm cold too. Did some shoveling and then stayed inside my nice cozy warm house. Good day to stay inside and Babble.
yes for sure, just got back for a trip to the store and that's enough for me
It is scary cold here. Our low tonight will be 9 degrees. 74 days until Spring!
yes, we were subzero last night and probably will be again tonight-Spring can't come fast enough for me!

Hello dan2bit! How are you doing today? Welcome to chog
I am well Min, and you?
hi min
I'm well despite the cold weather.Did you get lots of snow?
we got around 2", which is manageable for DC. But usually, we bounce back up into the 40's after it snows. Not today though, so it's very icy & powdery

Molls?
just stopped in to say hi but will be going now
hi...
Hi all. Some pretty bad weather coming across the Atlantic to us in UK. http://tinyurl.com/k5gyq3d
hi...frigid here...minus 4 Fahrenheit...kitchen pipes froze, but ok now....blizzard ended this afternoon...
Hello, Jac. Mother Nature is in a bad mood.
Hi penquis. Pretty bad for all of us then!
yes, bad weather across a lot of the US....
Hello o-o. She does seem a bit tense (Mother Nature).
Oops! PB for me; I used a grid word.
Has everyone finished the grid?
Bad Jac Bad!
Yes. I finished.
Well done, cos!
Congratulations cosdem on finishing the grid. Good for you
I gave up on grid at 5:10 with 168 words and 2000 points. I have a story of clues in my profile though if anyone needs.
We've got the last of our Xmas/New Year meals here at home on Sunday - a family meal for 10. We're doing roast beef etc., (with salmon for my veggie daughter) and I've made an apple & blackcurrant crumble and a fruit salad trifle for afters. Beloved and me will be doing 'jigsaws' with the tables tomorrow to work out how to fit 10 in, since 9 is the largest number we've done before. May need to shove one of the sofas down to the other end of the room.
Min - still doing the clue stories? Glad to hear it! Will have a look in a min. I have finished, but I like reading your stories.x
Jacula, I only do them when I have time. I go back to work next week so will not do them as often as I would like to.
Jac - what are you serving with the roast beef? Hi all:)
hi...
Hi Dianne. What are we serving with the roast beef? Oh, all sorts: roast potatoes, parsnips and carrots, steamed carrots, broccoli and cauliflower, peas, mashed potato, Yorkshire puddings, onion gravy, horseradish sauce, English mustard. Probably a few more vegs like sprouts and chestnuts and perhaps some runner beans.
Min - all power to you for doing the stories still. x
Incidentally, Dianne, since you're in Hong Kong, you might like to know we're having a Chinese takeaway meal tonight, since we'll be busy prepping vegs for Sunday. :)
Does anyone need any clues for the grid, btw?
no thanks, i finished this afternoon....
Congratulations penquis on finishing early! Hooray for you!
Well done, penquis.
Wow - I'm on my way over for that meal. It sounds wonderful.
It's being served between 1.30-2pm, Dianne. Do you think you can get here in time? :)
*shoves sofa a bit further down the room and tries to make one of the coffee tables as high as the dining tables to make one extra place.* :)
It would be tight - you know packing, getting to the airport, 12 hour flight, etc. I think I'll have to pass - this year.
Oh, okay, Dianne. I was *just* about to start packing books under the coffee table legs. :)
I've just worked out how we can seat 10 without too much moving of the comfy seating area, but it would mean doing things restaurant-style by keeping the 2 tables separate. Not sure Beloved will go for that idea, as he likes us all at 'one' table.
Will all the food fit on the tables?
Dianne, yes the food will fit and so will the people, which is more to the point. lol
If we win the Euromillions lotto (93 million pounds last night), I think, when we design and build our dream house, I will add a massive dining room as well as a more intimate dining room to the plans. :)
Dianne - the thing about putting 2 tables together is that you lose at least one seating place. If we keep them apart, the place is there for person number 10.
Have one table and tell hubby he needs to eat in the kitchen.
Don't think he would be too happy about that :)
o-o How big is your table and where is it situated??
tr8?
Depends on witch restaurant I go to.
Hello kje! How are you doing today? Welcome to the chog.
lol, o-o
tr....perfix for three + i am a r****r....add plural letter
i pay a fee for my apartment....should have said that, lol....
HI kje. tr8/40 is a copper coin from ancient Rome, a third of an as. tr* prefix meaning three + vowel + anagram of the things fishermen use to trawl.
ty!
y/w, kje.
o-o : do you have a table? Or do you only eat out at occult places (witch restaurants)?
Does anyone need a grid clue before I leave?
00 was just going for a sandwitch
I think the restaurant is called Subway to Hell :D
*watches joke fall on deaf ears*
don't take it personally ru....just not many ears here tonight...
LOL, ruru.
help on si6 pls

afternoon nap
Cosmo - si6 is a sleep taken in the heat of the day in places like Spain.
si 6/18 word is the spanish word for a nap cosdem & hello.
tx jacula.. that's my favourite thing . don't know how i missed it :)
LOL, Cosmo and y/w.
minver has her cos' mixed up
That was my last clue for the night. I leave you with a story of clues in my profile if you need to read it. Goodnight all!
*invites Bill Cos-by to minver's house*
'Night Min. Sleep well. x
*with Jello*
LOL!See, that is why I am going to bed now.I am too tired!
Goodnight to my fellow babblers! I will see you tomorrow.
night minver.. have a restful night
Kje is avoiding the chat
ruru - I was going to say you'd posted a grid word by typing jello, but then I realised it was an answer I wrote down to a crossword clue in the newspaper earlier. lol Talk about getting your games mixed up!
i do try to be careful jac
:D
:D
i am soooo ready for a weekend
I had to work today :D
Have you been working many days over the holiday, ruru?
most of them
My other half had the last two weeks off but was 'on call'. He had to go to work on Friday but, hopefully, is off until Monday now.
What is your job, ruru?
I sell wine to restaurants
Ah, well, I guess they'd need restocking after New Year's Eve.
here's hoping!
I do have a lot of appointments booked for Jan.. won't be around much
Good luck, ruru!
thanks
I'm waiting for the water to heat up.. my water heater went out today
My working year begins properly on Monday when everyone's back at work. I see fellow writers struggling to get back in the groove after the family-filled holiday break and hope that the ideas I have had can get in there first and sell me some stories.
there ya go jac.
We had our gas appliances serviced yesterday. A regular annual service, so, hopefully, everything will continue to work as it should.
i jumped into a cold shower earlier.. as the hot water depleted and the water heater gave up the ghost
It's an opening, I hope, re the writing, ruru.
I wish my grammar was better .. I love to write
I had a 15-20year break on the writing front, but now I'm back and hoping to get published again.
99 to go
good luck with that jac
it's really competitive
ruru - if you can tell a good tale, your grammar isn't that important, so long as you have a good editor.
only 2 a minute harp :D
hmm.. that may be true
I better get going....
i've written most of an article I'm going to submit to the local paper this year
ruru - I mean a pre-editor, someone who goes through your m/s before you submit it.
I don't have a chance in hell of it making it
Articles, these days, usually need to be pitched to the editor of the publication in question before you even write them.
ha8?
which one doc?
ruru - I could edit your article, but it would cost you and you would have to work out if it was worth it against what you would earn. If it's for a local paper, it probably isn't worth paying anyone to proof or copy edit it.
after what we do to cattle thieves
add a bird breeding bed
kje - ha8 you seek is what you do to cattle thieves + where a bird lays its eggs.
I don't care what I earn
ty!
I think it will be cathartic to just write it :D
re6/27 please?
ruru - You should care what you earn for your writing.
re + put up a painting une
NM!!
Une - re6.27 - to put up a painting on the wall again.
une has peri-itis
She does, ruru! lol
ge8 - the last one?
indeed :-)
wow hard to clue kje
ge + a photo is a **apshot + you eat in the cafet****....\
wow, ty!
The ge6 is a plant but not easy to clue.
yw
that was a new one for me for sure
Great clue, penquis!
ty...it's not the first time i clued it, lol....
I would have thought the photo was a crapshot .. :D
Well, ruru, not many of us like having our photo taken. lol
the clue was a crapshot, lol....
I hate having my photo taken
I really don't photograph well
ask jilli and DOc
:D
I think I can count on one hand the number of decent photos taken of me in the 56 years I've been alive.
i like to take photos....
me too.. and I'd still have a couple of fingers to go :D
th7/8?
I mean, look at the one I'm using now... my face is red and I have a Stepford Wife like smile on my face.
you do have a kind of glazed look jac :D
th 7 not here (mostly) = the end of someone who thinks they are sick all the time
th + p*** is a babbler ("NM") + cooling unit abbrev....add plural letter
harp - the th words are poison antidote and plural. Th + vowel + consonant + ending like a mad person might be described as - 'He's a man***!'
thanks
yw
rur - the glazed look might be due to my specs or might be due to me being in a gathering I was not entirely comfortable being in. Who knows!
ta7/28?
harp ta7.28 - the most sun touched.
I hear you Jac.. I see pictures of myself and say.. omg do i really look like that? :D
the most browned by the sun...
i have to jump in the shower before the flipperoo.
see you later
oh yeah, I alreday have that, lol thanks!
'Bye ruru.
bye ru...

oh good grief -- tx!
ta5/12?
*slaps Une with a wet fish*
tx jac!! LOL
to tease someone, harp
Une - ta5.12 - I'm teasing you now.
thanks
yes you are jac!
Harp, that clue was for, but I'll te5 Une anyway.
3 to go!
an7/8?
an7 picks up signals
harp an7 and 8 are the sticky up bit or feelers insects have on their heads.
thanks
