lol, he was so lovely. my usual physio has gone on holiday and handed me over to the physio i had in the pool last time. when he saw me, he rushed across the waiting room and gave me a huge hug.

yeah, liz. don and i are discussing a new car for me. i really like toyota. have my second one, but it is a manual. i want bottom of the range corolla, had one before and loved it. don says i am to have a few luxuries. i just come to grips with spending unnecessary money on a car. i don't live in it, for goodness sake!

The Jazz is manual - our 3rd Jazz. My first was in England. Honda offering 1.5% interest at the moment! Too good not to do especially as our old car was out of warranty and someone had driven into the back of it!

And that was with insurance!
oh and forgot to tell you, physio gave the okay to fully weight-bear within the house. i am taking it slowly, and concentrating on walking correctly.

listening to your body is a learned art, pugs. I've taught B. how to do that but he grew up having to finish everything on his plate so was pretty fat when we married

it gets down to about 50F in the bedroom at night so we sleep under a mountain of blankets

I have a ratty old fur coat that I put on top on my side of the bed
really miss the big fires we always had camping with the horses on rides with 50 or more around them

It is the direction of the winds that have caused the problems. It was the South Coast of England that took the brunt of the storms but it is the sheer volume of rainwater that is compounding that damage now. No chance for workmen to do any repairs.

Not really because evrything in this country stops for snow. We just can't cope.
i live in front of a school jax, and when we had bad snow a few years ago and we couldn't move out of our houses and th eroads weren't cleared by the council and no-one could get to the school, as in techers especially they now grit the road more often but haven't done it now knowing we were in for snow!!

I am 68 and I can remember living in Lancashire with no central heating so you got ice inside the windows yet life kept going. No snow days, and teachers lived nearer their places of employment then as well.

Prolonged snowy conditions are rare enough here, TO. The last 'Big Snow' was in 2011.
My husband won't either but, much to my grandson's disgust, snow doesn't fall that often in Devon It is a peninsular surrounded by seawater.
i must admit, some teachers live further afield but then why apply to a school that if the weather is bad, and you can't get too, then the school is closed and majority of the bairns live near to so can walk in the snow but can't go because the school is closed because not enough staff!

It snowed for about 2 weeks non stop, then froze, then snowed more. Probably minor compared to some places, but it brought everything to a standstill here.
Today's kids walk? Wash your mouth out with soap. I live by a primary school and every day parents drive a mere 100 yards to bring children to school.
We never get snow that goes on that long. We get big storms but they are usually over with in 24 hours or less.

aye, i must admit that's true jax.as i've said i live infront of a comp and i'm sick of people parking infront of my house every day and they park infront of my gate so we can't get the car in or out, and there is parking up the street as in proper parking off the road and it has lanes

I am good, lilli! Had some knee trouble last week but it seems to have fixed itself.
And Frank is fine although he is learning that he can't eat nuts or popcorn (bad for Crohn's which he was diagnosed with at the same time they found the cancer)

then i need to stop seeing the national news, reading newspapers, looking at news on the computor because there is always a bairn hurt in some way or another and to be quite honest, whether a bairn is hurt or not, it the souinds of sirens helicopters...helicopter sounds are the worst!!
we had a shooting on campus here 6 years ago - there were a lot of helicopters (mostly from news organizations) - since then several of my friends have gotten pretty freaked out when helicopters go over
and ambulances and police cars and i can't stop them from coming near our village

Some vets with trauma issues will do things like hide under tables when planes pass over ... or, as a friend of mine did, attack a cuckoo clock.
Many professionals believe the traumatized must relive the trauma to desensitize it.

another reason i am making the scarf longer is that my second skein of yarn is quite different in color than the first....both are multi-colored so it's not too bad, but they are definitely different....
Just got home from a Valentines dinner with DH's men's group. I don't drink; but I sure seem to be typing like I did!

pen, I once had a really sweet patient who loved to knit and made and sold her handiwork. I needed a scarf and mittens; so I asked her to make a LONG scarf and 2 pairs of matching mittens. She took me literally: I ended up with a 14 foot scarf with 2 pr. matching mittens! :-)
(A friend cut the scarf in half and made 2 out of that 1; I wore them and the mittens for a good 25 years!
