good to hear, dear.
nice job, diz
This "bug" hit pretty hard, and I even had a flu shot, so I was shocked.
the vax this year is for influenza B?? i think, and the flu going around is A?? or vice versa...
Hi all :)
hey ya liz
How was hydro today?
that makes sense, then. How are you feeling, rose? Hi, Liz
Hi Dee. Hope you're feeling a bit better.
doing better than i hoped, thanx for asking. haven't needed endone, just the cold pack...so far...fingers crossed.
Fantastic!!
Fingers crossed for you.
That's really great.
Did you get your house projects completed?
if you call having 3 functioning toilets, done, then yes.
A good start - 3 toilets!
also have a grab rail over the bath...the bathroom is soooo close to being done
LOL... sounds like our last house when we moved in in the late 70's... we had to remember what we needed to do, so we knew which bath to use
That's really good progress.
airt
oops! Sorry
LOLOL, dee, absolutely.
Great idea... was just thinking the other day that some grab rails would be nice - not sure yet if I have hubby convinced yet.
and.....
Has Don agreed to a builder for the kitchen yet?
don has bought the oil and applicator for the back deck and front steps. YAYAY
That'll look good. We did our decking and it changed its appearance so much.
oh, yes, liz. we just have to pull out the walls in the laundry, and he has even agreed to using the builders plumber for the new plumbing.
Fantastic - you really won't know yourselves, when it's all finished.
Bet you are so excited to see progress. Remodeling is so chaotic and emotional.
dee, after what we have been through, this is going to be a piece of cake...tiramasu, of course.
Love tiramasu :)
yum!!
snap, Liz
Just back from cake and hot choccy, overlooking the sea - my first outing since I smashed my toes!
liz, looking for someone to make one as don's birthday cake..wanna volunteer??
OK that's an exaggeration.
If you come up here - sure!
Ouch! Bet putting on shoes wasn't fun.
noooo, you've gotta come down here. will send air tickets for you both...* nudge, nudge, wink, wink*
Luckily haven't had to put any shoes on - bare foot mostly or flip flops. But couldn't put trainers on to go to the gym this week.
falling asleep, off to bed, goodnight all
Sleep well Flosey
good-night dearest flosey. please tell jilli hello and hugs from me. you also of course.
rest well, Flosey. Keep getting better!! I am off, too! *poofing with hugs*
Sleep well, Dee
strange grid - not very giving
xoxox, dee. sweet dreams
XO ttfn!!
Rose, have you got a recipe for tiramisu?
probably, liz. but i don't have the facilities to bake it, otherwise i would do it. guess i will have to ask around the local bakeries.
Hang on - how about straight tiramisu rather than tiramisu cake. That doesn't need baking.
have yet to speak to my close friend of mine who is a chef.
oh, yeah, it's just layers of biscuits etc isn't it?
Or if you buy ready made plain sponge you could make the cake.
I just found a couple of recipes.
*send recipe * please....
on google??
http://tinyurl.com/lfc7dj5
i need to make one big enoygh for about 40 adults, plus uncounted number of kids.
That's a cake one.
http://tinyurl.com/krgek9z
And that's straight tiramisu - Nigella Lawson recipe.
i am having an afternoon function, thinking it will be easier for parents to come. have to organise 60 helium-filled ballons, too. the party shop is just down the road.
I guess it's not too hard to scale up. But otherwise we got my chocolate mud cake from The Cheesecake Factory - it really was very good and not too expensive.
Sounds lovely. I seem to remember Don's birthday is in April - what date?
we are having a juke box, several plates of 'finger' food, the cake, and a couple of plates of petit-fours. plus an open bar for drinks of any kind.
Real fun.
april 29th, deacon is the 26th, claudia is in may...
Lots of celebrating :)
yeah, i will have been back at work about 3 weeks...should be interesting.
Bugger work :)
You see, I've been learning Aussie speak!
took my workcover ceriticate into work today, and EVERYONE was saying we miss you and your laugh. it was so noce. and my immediate boss and very close friend nearly ran across the room to hug me. it's nice to be wanted. ;-)
That must've felt really good - still, much better not working.
aagghh ...read * nice * was putting on the accent to impress you, liz
You don't need to do any more than be yourself, Rose.
And there I am, swearing like a true Aussie to impress you!
whoot!!! okay....* grin *
lol, liz....you impress me anyways...lolol
lol :)
Catch you later Rose = hugs
xoxox, liz. have a good one, hun
oh, it's nearly shabbat...okay liz. shallom!
pugs, when you come back, love and hugs, my dear. to you also sprite, ruby. and anyone else who follows. see you tomorrow.
Gooooooooood morning fellow Babblers xxxx
FWs
greetings friends--looks like Ive missed everyone though
hi pugs, I just came in - woke myself up coughing
ahh poor flosey---do hope you get rid of that thang soon--oh and hi too
it is on the way out, pugs, just lingering a bit
has your hubby caught it too
read back a bit, Rose left you a message
okay, ty
no, fortunately, he's ok
so you were the lucky one-lol
yup, struck in rich, so to speak!!!
we have had heavy rains all day yesterday and storms about 1 this morn and its still raining heavy--we will be floating here soon-lol
oh dear, do hope it stops soon
news says a few dry days and then more first of next week---april showers bring may flowers and if thats the case we should have thousands--lol
well, hopefully this is your promise of Spring
hey loves
are you getting signs of spring yet---yes I do hope so too
Hi MissO
Hi MissO
flosey, if you dont mind me asking, is Jillibus sick? I havent seen her for quite some time
I believe Jilli is just quite busy right now. I haven't talked to her in a couple of weeks but she is out playing bridge so expect that she is just keeping busy
and dear pugs, I do not mind at all, you asking
okay, thank you
I have been receiving emails from her
maybe you can make it to your game this week
good morning all :) will brb, after taking my meds
am hoping I can play Monday night - it will be my regular partner's last for a few weeks - she and her hubby will be travelling
Sprite! good morning and love and hugs
good morning Sprite
I will keep my fingers crossed for you then Flosey
thanks pugs, you are so sweet
ty and I think the same about you as well :)
:)
*hugs pugs and flosey*
hugs right back
you doing better Sprite
tty Sprite and back at ya!
yeah, not too bad today :) How about you, my darling pug?
no fever but no relief from the other. I got my clinic paper yesterday and Iam personally taking it in this morning and going to try to get in as soon as possible
aw great. You definitely need help with this.
so it seems, nothing Iam doing is helping
how are you, flosey?
is you pelvis feeling better
improving slowly, Sprite, Thanks
had to have eye drops - got a bit of an infection in one eye - from the cold
holistically speaking, fever and inflammations are unvented anger, pug. Perhaps you need to beat up a few pillows or slam some doors, or (my favorite) throw handsful of icecubes into a bath tub.
how frustrating, flosey :( So tiring, an eye like that.
but, can't really complain Sprite, hubby is taking good care of me
yes it is, pugs :) Less pain today. Which is good, because my love is away camping out and canoeing this weekend, so I have to do the shopping and cooking.
yay for good hubbies, flosey :)
thats sweet of him flosey
did he go alone or did your son go too
just him and the dog, pugs.
I am up now (woke self up coughing) will slleep in my easy chair so that he can get a decent sleep
aw poor you :(
that will be good for him though--is he doing better with his stress? sorry I didnt ask you sooner
oh no, I can sleep well enough this way
darling, no need to apologise, you have more than enough to keep you busy. Yes, it will do him good.
now you have no foot warmer :{ lol
and he is doing better indeed!
lol true, and my feet are definitely feeling the cold!
sounds like a welcome break for your hubby, Sprite
he loves doing this. And he deserves some time off :)
I had to do the monthly town thing yesterday and as bad as I felt, do you think he would help with the heavy lifting? NO and on top of that I got drench too so I was not a happy camper so to speak--lol
does the dog like going that too
wth doesn't he help you do the lifting?
ah Pugs, hate to hear of you being treated so poorly - you deserve much better
oh pugs, Terra couldn't be happier. He loves every bit of it... the car drive there, the canoeing, the camping.
soon as I stop the car Sprite, he is off doing his thing and I dont see him until hes done--its always been like that
well change it for the next time! Tell him you need him to do the heavy lifting, so get that out of the way first and THEN he can be off to whatever.
dont matter where we go--even on outing with Carol and her hubby--he just takes off and never see him--makes me so mad
god, would that man hate being married to me... I'd give him hell for stuff like this.
I have a word that would fit that behaviour, pugs - I don't use it often but there are times it is quite fitting - YOU DESERVE MUCH BETTER
in that case, hun, refuse to take him next time.
amen, flosey :)
I may as well be single--lol
you'd be better off, imo
so what are you going to do Sprite since your man is gone for a few days
Pugs, are you able to do the shopping alone?
am gonna indulge in a lot of gaming
Enjoy, Sprite
yes Flosey, but once a month I have to take everyone to the bank and let them do their stuff
hehehe I will :) Kids are happiest when they can go their own way, so all I need to do is be home for them and make sure there is food.
what kind of gaming are you planning? Like a big women's poker game? LOL
ah, ok, Pugs - but, sounds like there are others, can't someone help you in with groceries, etc.?
roflollll nah, guild wars and runescape... and babble
brb - going to make a cup of tea
he does help with that here at home cause I refuse to do it
pug, I really think you need to readress those rules. If he wants a ride to town, he has to help you do the heavy lifting. If he doesn't want to help, he doesn't get the ride either.
yeah Iam going to have to do something---
*hugs pugs* Wish I lived closer, darling. SOOO would like a word with that man.
you mean to bury him--lol
be strong, my dear pugs
a nice, quiet, friendly word... over his grave ;)
tys flosey and I will, I dont have much of a choice but to
you can do it, darling. You are so much stronger than you know, and than he knows as well.
good morning
hello ruby :)
good morning Ruby
things do seem better since his last jail time and hes in the back and I dont care and he knows I dont
morning Ruby--hugs
very good, pugs. Stick to your guns.
co
and a happy co to you too, marigold :)
Hi marigold
sorry
nah, always glad to see you, marigold
'morning marigold
hi everyone
we have had over six inches of rain since yesterday
omg pugs, such rain
howdy all! :)
hey rbud! :)
Hi Rbud
just getting here - sleep patterns all weird these days.
hi rbud
send some over here, the garden is terribly dry
It is so nice to come in here and see all you good friends
irregular shifts, rbud?
okay Ruby--here it comes :) lol
?Pugs, what if he doesn't carry, you don't cook
nice to see you too Ruby
babble is a wonderful place
my old man hasn't carried anything for me in decades, don't feel alone, puglet - but he has his medical excuses
Our weather is incredible! The Saharan sand has cleared and it is sunny and fairly warm, no jacket necessary for dog-walking
agree, Sprite - what else does one do in the middle of the night shen one should be sleeping
**When (not shen)
Ruby, since his last jail time I dont cook for him or anything else for him
indeed, flosey :)
if husband doesn't carry stuff it stays where it is. I have enough back problems without lifting and he knows that.
I'm glad, pugs, he deserves nothing from you
I am an expert at toting a dozen plastic grocery sacks at once. :P
good for you Pugs, stay strong
he's very good about shepping stuff, I must sasy that
thats good Ruby
aw but your husband will gladly help, ruby, as long as he understands what is expected of him... and rbud, if he shouldn't lift, ok... but pug's husband is just too darn lazy to lift a hand.
good job, pugs!
lend a hand... lift a finger... whatever
these days I do get help from the kids, if they're around. and several of Hubby's buddies are quite helpful if they're around, yay!
I think they all think we're getting old, lol - guess they're right.
never abuse them of that notion, rbud :D
I know my body is just not what it use to be and it sucks
yeah well, such is aging. As Haz once said, aging is not for the timid.
there's a beauty to every stage of life, pugs
old,moi, I'm almost 71! where did the time go? I want a do-over
amen to that, flosey. I don't mind aging myself.
We had quite the day today, he's been having a hard time breathing, and I finally insisted he go to the ER this afternoon. They put him on IV fluids, magnesium, etc., and gave him steroids and some brething treatments - turns out it was "bronchial spasms" - not congestive heart failure like I feared.
wow, scary day, rbud! So glad it wasn't his heart.
*breathing treatments - sent us home with a nebulizer, a first with one of those
I bet that did give you a scare Rbud
nebulizers can bring a lot of relief
well, he has the muscular dystrophy, and we're not sure how that affects things, really. yes, I was getting really worried.
that must be hard on you and him as well--sorry about that Rbud
they actually said as he was low on magnesium, it would make his muscles feel weaker - sort of a relief to hear, there, too, we had thought it might be the MD, but no, yay! :)
I got a childhood friend that has that and shes now in a wheelchair but she is so uplifting to those around her
now I need to research foods high in magnesium and see how many I can get him to eat. He's not too picky, but of course the best one he doesn't care for, lol!
He likely should be in one, but he wobbles along with his cane, and has an electric wheelchair for going downtown and visiting around - plus he rides his riding mower all over. had chains on it this winter. :)
my sister went through that being low on mag. They do make pills for that rbud. Since she was a diabetic we had to go that route
going to try to sleep, bb much later
Most nutrition guides list magni=esium. Offhand, bananas and any foods that have potasium
{{flosey}}
bye Flosey, hope you can rest for awhile
ah thanks ruby, and pugs, bfn and hugs all round
grains, dark green leaf greens, milk. Also, check out the relation with calcium and phosfor, rbud.
hugs back
night, dear flosey :)
I noticed Terra's last nme in the grid....
Sprite were you low on mag with you sugar
hehehe indeed, ruby. He is a regular in babble grids.
rose got me to take magnesium malate, pugs, for my muscles. Works miracles.
you still take it
51 but tie to go for lunch I wish I was hungry
yes I do
ok, try to enjoy your lunch, ruby
enjoy Ruby---have a great day
""your place, sprite""
see you later, kids
ok ruby :) Tell them hi from me.
lol it is a crossy grid
I seen that too Sprite
:)
made me think of him right off-lol
cooee and g'day from me. popping back in for a bit.
Rose left us a message back in the grid--I just now remember
ah and there she is! hugs, love and hi Rose
hi rose :)
*giggle* funny that, pugs.
you must of felt our brainwaves-lol
gosh, i missed you, girls...i had to log back in for my fix of sprite, ruby and pugs.
*hugs rose* Well here we are, rose, minus ruby though.
its not the same with out that daily fix--lol
have had an amazing day after hydro. no need for endone, just the ice-pack.
oh woooooot rose! Such progress!
seen where you got such a warm welcome at your work Rose, you must miss your co-workers
i am hoping to reduce the SR oxycodone to only 10mgs on hydro days, and none for the rest.
so good Rose!
you will get there, and beyond, rose. Give it time.
pugs, it was so nice...i really feel like going back now.
Iam sure you do miss them but just dont rush things, you will get there
*leashes rose* Down girl, easy. Now take it slow, ya hear??
I know, co-workers can mean as much as family
pugs, love. i am so not rushing it, dear. 2 hours twice a week is not rushing it in my book.
very much depends on what you do and won't do in those hours, in MY book, rose
lolol, sprite...* choke, choke *
okay, okay, sprite, settling down to a dull roar here...happy now ??
yes :) We need you whole and healthy, my darling.
sprite, pugs, i am only doing tea-relief. which means i take over patients who have already been settled in the recovery room. no major dashing about...
and no salsa dancing on wet floors, and no walking that extra mile for any reason whatsoever.
that will be good when YOU are ready to go back
mind you, it was so lovely, to have the anaesthetist who gassed me greet me with...aunty rose!! how lovely to see you! are you getting well??
Did I sound stern there? Good. I meant to say: What. So. Ev. Er.
yes mother sprite...
:D
I love it that you enjoyed getting back there, rose. That is a good sign. And of course they are delighted to see you, tsk. Who wouldn't.
lol--poor Rose with so much care and love you cant go wrong
this doctor is of asian descent. in their culture it VERY polite to acknowledge someone who is older and more experienced as aunty or uncle.
but you still have about 3 weeks or more to go yet
lol true. She is complaining to Don that we don't let her breathe... and we yell over that: "Forget breathing. First walking. Then running. And only then can we talk about breathing!"
aw that is so sweet, rose!
yeah, pugs. and i am going to fill those 3 weeks...i cannot believe how quickly a week passes!!
hey you girls, we now have 3 functioning toilets, the hand rail has been installed over the bath...i have an almost fully functioning bath-room.
finally! Fireflies. That last 7 was a b*tch to find.
awesome, rose!
just think, this time next month you will be back to normal--as long as you do as you are suppose to now
next step is to remove the asbestos sheeting from the laundry, then order the cabinets etc for the new kitchen.
WTG SPRITE!!!
:( good for you Sprite lol
step by step, rose, and keep your health and wellbeing as your first priority at all times!
sprite, was it the oo7?
yes rose
yeah, a strange word, that.
had to get lickety out to find the 2nd letter and then a2z to find the word.
oh, and the new gas oven and grill...
niceeee!
sounds real nice Rose
oh, yeah!!! can't wa4 until i can bake again. i love baking.
I hope you dont have youself in there working
co 8/60 clue please
should go and get the shopping done while I still have some energy, I guess. God, I hate shopping for groceries. So much.
gran: festive paper snippets
its almost reset time===bye and hugs and love
* giggle * pugs...baking , to me, is a relaxation.
well, looks like babble hiccup ate my post :(
big *hugs* to you both! And to all a blessed day and a peaceful night.
Thanks
ugh, sprite, sweetheart. hope you have a beautiful day. xoxox
oh, and it ate mine...:-(
gran, 7's are he, oo, and ra
co 8/60 is small pieces of paper thrown in celebration
hi and thanks!!
tabu
oops, sorry!
hello again, back from lunch
no sorry, ty, une et bonjour
good morning everyone ((ruby))
salut, ruby!
howdy une
howdy crossy :-)
{{croSsy}}
whew -- thunder, lightning, tornado warning DONE!!
tornado warning!!!! OMG
yaaa for une!!. and I do not care how bored you may be, but it is way too early in the season to be ordering up a tornado for yourself!
indeed! LOL
the US Midwest is definitely "tornado alley"
and I'm sure ba5 IS THERE JUST FOR MR. CROSY
:-D
mmmm, ba5 :))
enable allows ta4 but not raita. That macks of food discrimination
smacks*
and now it is time for Crossy's tidbit of the day!!!!
It's against the law to have a pet dog in Iceland!
why? because the poop freezes?
lol
http://tinyurl.com/mtjq8qq
well, just a LITTLE bit against the law...
interesting. It makes for dogs that are safe and well cared for.:)
trying to garner my energy to takle the weeds. They threaten to take over the garden and probably the house and dogs. Itd's like something from a horror movie LOL
ruby, i'll pit my weeds against yours any day! LOL
lol, Here everything is still muddy, partially snow covered , barren and dead. WE have had 4 days of melt now, so we are hoping to see the tree begin to bud soon
hah! But mine have flowers
everything is in flower here. I'm waiting for the cherry and quince
:-)
Spring is wonderful!
our birds are coming back!!!
have never had as many spring flowers as this year!
"our" heron is back. He was standing on the edge of the fishpond yesterday, staring me down. He's beautiful, though, so I don't really mind if he has to earn his living chez nous
and all around town . . . blooming cherry, quince, forsythia, redbud, etc.
seen robins, cardinals, our Canada geese of course, the wild turkeys stay around all year, and I am hoping our three nesting pairs of Piping Plovers return
April is the best! (just not last year)
how wonderful re your heron!
eating your pond fish, is he, ruby?
I watched him for about a ile when he left -- magnifique
we get blue herons here and white ones
|I don't mind
mile*
tres cool, crossy
he is mostly grey with blue and white stripes on his shoulders and almost as tall as I am
ooohhh, ruby, you must post a pic!
"heron cendre" in google. He never stays long enough for me to take a pic
Ruby, I saw a heron at the lake this weekend: http://tinyurl.com/p7n53hc
which kind, Molly?
There is a Siamese cat living next door (just recently) and she stares poor Rufie down, yowls at him and makes him crazy
morning, molly :-)
A great blue. You have to take their picture with a telephoto lens. They are skittish around people.
ours is very braen, probably the same one for several years, calls this Nellie's food kitchen
brazen*
looking forward to 2014 gbh family at sapsucker -- such fun to watch via online cams :-)
The link I posted is a picture.
co 8/60 plz
hello ivesy
co8 what you throw at a parade
I watched herons and red tail hawks hatch on web cam. Amazing stuff.
bits of paper thrown out windows at parade
good morn ruby , all and ty for the clues..
me too molly == such a thrill :-)
must run -- HAGD!! *poof*
Baby red tail: http://tinyurl.com/lh4vtxm
We have blue herons here too. It's always the highlight of my day when i see one.
today is the grid of Greek and Hebrew letters
ty for the greek letter, bichon:). I just punched in the one we see the most in babble:))

but can you find the Hebrew letter crossy?
mm, that is a different story...
It's also a girl's name
I have the Hebrew letter but dont see the Greek letter
There are two Greek letters
will look, thanks, bichon
think of old time frat house names for one of them
or a stress test on new software for computers
found one
and the other is a type of sound wave also..i think
thanks
I prefer trying to remember than to go diving for the dictionary for the cold clinical answer:)
good got the old grey matter;)

that was creepy, I just went out to eed the garden and something slithered away. If it was a lizard, I don't mind. But not seeing it is scary because there are vipers here although I've never seen one
just zipping by *poof*
I'm not afraid of snakes but I'm not stupid!
that is creepy, be careful
I came in the house
EEEEEEEEEK!
there are lots of lizards, often in the studio nd they're very cute
: O AAAAAHHHH! Scary creatures in the garden! : O
Aaaah, living in the country
Oh dear God if I had lizards in my house I would freak right out.
5t column i need middle O and the i stats please?
there are only 2 kinds of snakes here, vipers and coulouvres which are big but non-venomous. I've never seen either kind, but everybody else seems to have seen them unless the locals are just trying to scare me
on 4 I think....
IN 4/4
in 4/4 babblet
ty wv got the in
I need the stats please for the bottom i in the fourth column?
i have a on 4 from the other O
how about spiders, Molly? I'm only afraid of the big black ones what don't build webs and jump
Another ON
The others are very prtty and more predictable
i think its a preposition?
ON 4/4 from this O
car
I'm okay with spiders. I just catch them and take them back outside.
Yes?

Welcome, freckledcat!
hello freckledcat
Good morning, wv.
good morning, all.
I am finding this grid to be difficult.
Hi Owl
hi scrabs, how are you?
Good. I have a heating pad on my neck. It has been helping.
uh oh..another injury?
No, from my wipeout 4 wks ago. Improving.
good. i did not realize there were other issues than head injury.
"whiplash"
i have to run, hagd all
Bye, Owl.
Gee...my first two words were wi4 and wa6...is that a comment on my personality?!
Haha, Mimi!
Mornin', Scrab!
Just started this grid but it's looking like a challenging one.
Not easy, thus not fun. I found 61 so far.
I'm only here briefly these days...tons of work lately. Two days this week I started at 5:30 am and didn't finish until 8 or 10 pm. But---not complaining...love the money and the work. The doctor I transcribe is mostly a dream but when she messes up, I have her back.
That is a LOT of work!
I wish teach was here...one of my favorite groups has just come back together and they are based on bluegrass---Nickel Creek...fabulous harmony and very unique.
mimi = just got back while eating breakfast - loved Nickle Creek - saw them live once
teach! They were on Jimmy Fallon a couple of nights ago and have reunited....The Lighthouse's Tale is an all-time favorite of mine. They're touring again as well.
Also love "When You Come Back Down."
don't stay up for late shows but will look for their shcedule and releases
Their website has all their touring dates. All their music is on Amazon.
just saw their new picture - my memory is of "young" kids from when they started
The siblings look really different, but the other guy looks just the same...sorry, can't remember names right now...tired.
Gotta get to work. Getting a "late" start today since I didn't finish yesterday's until 10. That's OK, though...I didn't work for 3 yrs and I'm just happy to be productive again. Oh, teach, also enjoying Kacey Musgraves...check her out. Bye for now and hugs all around.
riat
Sorry....even spelled it wrong! Poof!
Bye, Mimi.
hagd mimi
Hi Gang
Buon giorno, Hego. I am losing interest in this grid.
Alredy?
already, dang!
I found 87 but this grid is not fun for me.
If it's not fun, don't do it.
The list is helping me.
the 8 is an Italian word.
Today is 2 years since my Dad died. A tough day for us, especially my Mom.
wow! 2 years already.
Yes, it flew by.
I remember it being very traumatic for you.
He died in front of me.
Unexpectedly.
I remember.
Your quote helped me mom--something about widowhood.
Is your head better?
Head is good. Residual tinnitus. Neck is less sore.
Hope tinnitus improves.
It only bothers me when my environment is quiet.
Bill had a head injury and his never went away.
Or when I think about it.
It is a high-pitched whistle.
yes, I have it too. Just mildly.
Does it disturb your sleep?
Not mine.
scrabs?
Hi jaxx. No, except when I am falling asleep and very aware of it. [I have a greatnephew named Jaxson and we sometimes call him Jax or Jaxie.]
Hard to extend words today.
Try a small radio under the pillow.
He's sooo cute!
Hego, could you please clue the Italian co8 word?
the stuff you throw
He sure is, Hego. He will spend the weekend here and arrive later.
My name is Jacqueline - blame my mother - and eventually it got shortened to Jack. My sister is Jill! Ha-Ha
Grazie. That was easy.Toss sardines and anchovies at me.
lol
there is another fish in the grid
Jaxx--tune radio to static?
Yellowfin tu4.
Jaxx, your ma has a sense of humor.
Bill uses an air purifier for white noise at nite.
Dual purpose.
Not necessarily, any noise will do. It just masks the tinnitus. You can get a box that gives out white noise so I guess static will do as well as anything.
I share a bedroom with a rabbit, so I wonder what he prefers. I will ask him....haha.
hahah
Not really. She had a thing for the letter J. We went to the same school so there was Jack, Jill and Jon all with the same surname. Imagine the confusion if you were ordered to go to the Head's office. All three of us would turn up and stand in a line. The Head would then select the one he wanted.
Sometimes Bunny Tucker decides it is a good time to thump and warn my other bunnies in the house. Then I tell them all to knock it off.
do they listen?
jaxx, where do you live?
Hego, sometimes they do!
In Devon, UK
Jaxx that's funny.
scrabs, lol
Nice, Jaxx. Visiting the UK is on my bucket list.
We didn't find it so at the time. Very time consuming
I am the oldest of 3 sisters: Lynda, Lisa, Leslie--people have always mixed us up.
I have the same name as my mother.
I live in Teignmouth on the Channel coast. It is a pretty little town but won't be so if the planners have their way. I come from Manchester originally but married a Teignmothian and stayed
I have been baby Helen my whole life.
Or Helen Junior.
Pretty silly at this age!
That's the same for my brother. he's over 60 now but we still refer to him as our baby brother. daft really
Jaxx, there is a Babbler (not here much anymore) that lives in Taunton/Williton.
I am looking at Teignmouth on a map, Jaxx.
All my father's family going back to the early 1800s, had samuel as the eldest son's name until my brother who has samuel as his second name. Not so long ago he decided that meant he wasn't dad's son but as mum is now dead he will never know
I cannot find Devon.
Ooo, now I'm thinking of Baby Jane Hudson.
haha Molly
I've never sent a letter to Daddy.
I found Devon now.
look at the peninsula, the bit that looks like the leg of the pig that the man is riding on. Right at the tip is Cornwall and Devon is the next county up. teignmouth is between Exeter and Plymouth
Time to get going. Meeting a friend for a quick walk before the rain hits.
I think your brother should'nt worry about that Jaxx. Mom just wanted all J's.
bye Scrabs
Bye, kids!
I am sure that is the case but I do wish she had called me Jane, much easier to spell
bye, Scrabs
I was told it was an old lady riding the pig.
it can be whatever you like. I have always seen a man
Must away temporarily. bbs
bye jaxx

I generally do not retain words only found in Babble (I can't stand the term "babblet")
Kneels before Molly.. I'm so sorry your highness
:D
You can dispense with the bowing. Over used words just make me nuts.
I'm used to bowing and kneeling around here
What about kowtowing?

Hello babbleworld!
Hello, Jilly :-)
Hi zoozzoom!
And done...Happy babbling everyone...byee!
WooT WooT WooT zoozzoom!
and now it is time for Crossy's tidbit of the day! The long lost art of binding books in human flesh was very popular in the 17th century, but seems to have been a passing fancy. it is known as Anthropodermic bibliopegy .
Yay!! Didn't miss Crossy's tidbit! Interesting..and bleggh...*shudders*
funny enough it was for the most part used in the binding of medical tomes...
Even creepier!
seems Harvard U found a book or two in their archives that were bound in this way!
turns out those were sheep (I have some librarian friends who have been following the Harvard news)
lol, I just report it. I do not verify authenticity:). Leave that to you fine people
ooooo...just found crossy's favorite food in grid!
yuppers!
But it's FRiday in Lent...no meat...no fair making me want ba5/16!!
poor jilly:)
WEll, half way so will BRB after lunch!
sigh. I am enjoying English classes but first I had to tear apart Of Mice and men, then I had to dissect The Chrysalids, now I have to read The old man and The Sea by Hemmingway and tear it to quivering shreds:(. Cannot remember the last time I did reading for leisure:(
Sorry crossy...
I took some literature classes, and also felt like you. I like to read for enjoyment, not to dig deep into meanings, stylings...yadayada... As well not liking reading authors that I did not enjoy, nor would have read
New 4 letter word...co4/8...a silly person
Playing a tu4/7 in a closet is not easy ..
LOL...and would need ear protection
hairy nosed dolphin alert!
Loving the free clues~
:)
Never really read any Hemmingway before, so I researched the author. He lived hard and fast, drank like a fish, and beat the ever loving crapola out of his body before offing himself with a shotgun at the age of 61.
sorry, he was 62, he died in 1961
Hemmingway lived in Idaho, so grew up with him. He and Steinbeck are two of my favs...real and raw
I Just finished a Steinbeck:)
fo5 clue please?
as a matter of fact for creative writing, I had to ad an etire new chapter to his work and make it blend seamlessly with his writing style
Also left MT and went to HS in CA, so his writings were all around where I lived
he wrote all over the globe, Cuba as well
Of Mice & Men, East of Eden were my favs
fo + canadian two letter uttering at the end of a sentence + single hump letter...
ty, penquis
crappy clue...
and not at the end of EVERY sentence eh?
LOL....LUV that clue penq
it was hard to clue
yeah i dont undrstand it
was a great clue:))
crossi thought it was eh
How do you spell Canada? "C-eh-n-eh-d-eh"
crossy gave you the two letters at 1:43
well, since I spelt it out, it should be easy for you now
lol, jilly
Lots of people in MT also do the eh....one of them being my b-in-law
and it is more complex that it seems, the "EH" can have several meanings depending on how it is used:)
like F-eh-u? Sorry , feeling evil today
must be the lack of ba5/16
got it
for example, I can say eh if I want you to repeat yourself, but I can also say eh if I want you to confirm what I just said
must be the inflection? eh?
lol, indeed
like tones in Chinese... ;o)
You folks are very funnt today.
teehee...still feeling full of it...must be that I am on vacation till the 14th!
and that was a great clue Penq.
uh, funny
Hello hego!

unair
Everyone I know who has seen 12 Years A Slave raved about it.
hi all!
nbt, thanks to my monkeys
Hi sue!
yay uusue and hello
hi hego and jill!
great icon Sue
I have this odd desire to see Noah. Maybe it's because I haven't seen a good biblical drama since the days of Charlton Heston.
thanks, hego!
can I get STATS for the first column N please?
SAw it, not even close to biblical molly...
na4/6 is the only one I have
Molly, not Biblical. sci fi.
howdy suze:))
na6/18
hi crossy!
i would like to see Noah....i remember having a free ticket to the Ten Commandments, being bused from school to the theater...
ty...
<----agrees with hego...sci fi
Wait, the story of Noah is science fiction?
more special effects than Bible.
molly its more visual
I don't know, I think a massive flood that destroys the Earth is kind of "special effecty"
Noah is totally off the biblical grid....and Noah is a paranoid personality in movie...just saying, entertaining but I did NOT think it was worth paying to see...wait for PPV or Netflix
That's funny. I bet everyone thought Noah was a paranoid nut case when he was building his ark. *Thinks of Bill Cosby*
heh heh....
Not even very good by sci fi standards
I remember that well Molly
One of Bill's best.
I generally don't pay to see movies in the theater.
I am currently watching every episode of house on Netflix. I missed the first three seasons when it was on television, so I am enjoying it
I don't either, but my son took me out to it.
the first years were the best Crossy
It is one of Cosby's best. That and the bit about the day he "lets his wife sleep in" and makes breakfast for the kids. ♪Dad is great, fixes chocolate cake♫
lol, yes
agreed, hego....went over the top in later years...
It was my fave show in the beginning.
I think any show that goes beyond five years has worn out it's potential for good story lines. *COUGH* Grey's Anatomy
it's getting old
true in many cases...
But there are some that don't
amen molly...reduces to poor plots
*wondering if i am attending to chat in order to avoid trying to find words*....
That was one of the things I loved about Fringe. It had it's story to tell and closed it's own doors when it was done.
Seinfeld never got old to me.
Kudos to "how I met your mother" as well
i don't generally watch comedies...
Seinfeld also had poor moments in later years
Lol, re: Cosby's Noah sketch: For those who use Roger cable as their ISP provider. The machine you use to deposit your money onto your account at the rogers outlet have a finish "Ping" that sound just like when Cosby did it on stage. lol. was feeding the evil thing what seemed like a endless procession of 20 dollar bills the other day and once it ate all of my money it went "PING!" , so in a loud voice I said "NOAH!!". Everyone in the store over the age of 30 broke out in smiles and laughter.
i think banono should be a word....weird fruit thing...cross between a banana and a pomelo....
sounds delicious!
:oD
lol, penq, it would be either really easy or totally impossible to peel :-)
will have to see if Youtube has that Cosby moment
or theocat....someone who's really into religion...
p.s. I lied about nbt, still have two blank tiles. *adjusts glasses*
nobody's watching, uusue... ;o)
Susie told a fib!
right column all greyed out:)
http://tinyurl.com/a32kwjt
naughty, naughty, suze
damn volcano!!
ok, NOW I have nbt. Silly in4/4 fish.
yay!!
better link to Cosby's Noah.. http://tinyurl.com/meeufxt
anyway, time to do something else for a bit. bbl.
hego...ty for volcano reminder...
<----thinks we should all just throw all those little babblets in automatically at beginning and be done with it!
good idea!
yw Penq
he7 anyone?
i am on a roll....made up two words and they were accepted!
he+cross consonant+what we breath+vowel
do that all the time
ty Jilly
i am trying to find my missing four letter words
good clue, hard word.
*wipes sweat off of brow* TY hego
it means a concubine.
ty jilly, that was my missing 7
I know it spelled differently.
love dividend clues!
ty for meaning hego...always good to expand my clueing ability
BTW crossy...the Cosby Noah was great!
greek, have seen it with e instead of i.
you want a real laugh jilly? Google his show called "49"
that one is amazing! Bill at his best
just so happens crossy is also 49. The big 5-0 in may:)
LOL...I am 56 on the last day of April...welcome to the golden years!
the last day of April is my birthday!
ty.. I think.. :)
TOO cool penquis!! Glad to share it with you!
ditto!
name this city in the grid that is in china!
taiwan
ding! ding!
*ping ping ping* we have a winner!!
lol
hego wins a free all you can eat crossy breakfast!
that's the best prize I ever won!
*thinking Hego needs to buy a lottery ticket once in a while*...
Just let me know when you are coming so I can go to the farm for some fresh brown eggs and some bacon they they cure on site:))
lovely
I may hold you to it one of these days.
ba5/16 you mean crossy.. *evil laugh*
anytime. I look for any excuse to make breakfast food;))
darn. busted.
pb for the crosster!!
well, there is a punch bowl full of crossy's very own Appleton estates dark spiced tropical rum punch in there for those who wish to join me...
I knew that one would get crossy at some point today!
and I was doing so well too...:(
be right there!
i float lemon and lime slices on top and keep it in a bed of crushed ice so as to not dilute the punch;))
God forbid it should be diluted!
well, the alcohol bruises easily. it is delicate
right....
when you take a dipper full and begin to pour it into your glass, it should make a steam like hiss as it hits the bottom of your glass or it is too weak;)
never had a hissing drink before.
kind of scary....
i use snake swizzle sticks
you're on a roll today Crossy.
<----!!FW!!
!!!YAY!!!!!
congrats!
nocan should be a word....hear it all the time..."nocan do"....
:)
TY
and I still think teton is a word....sure we can use tits and te4/4....but the beautiful french word...NO...not fair I say, not fair
let's hear it for teton!
Teton is a proper name of a national park, so enable says no;((
it's grand... ;o)
:)
:)
but it takes other names, so go figure
you know it will be a good day when your first word is ba 5/16 !!
but it IS a french word, and it only was used to name the park and how the mountains appeared to the sex deprived explorers....
oddly enough it was my first word of the day:)
imagine that!
So glad I decided to drop in for a minute! ((crossy)) I've missed you. ((Jilly)) Hi, hego and pen!
wi4 and wa6 were my first two words...that's give you an idea as to my orientations!
Hi Mimi
((mimi))
Love the Grand Tetons...they were the first really dramatic mts. I'd ever seen first time I drove cross-country. Look like they were just dropped in the middle of farmland.
And per the female orientation of the name, the peaks are referred to as sisters.
caught me just in time , mimi. am just about to settle down with a good book. Crossy is a good boy and has all his chores done:)
is the co 8 a compound word?
I've been working a lot lately...three days starting at 6 in the morning and not finishing until 8-10 at night.
The money is really good, though, so I'm tired but happy.
yes, money is nice, but give yourself time to enjoy things, mimi
Actually gotta run have some lunch and then I have a rehearsal this afternoon. Good to touch base, though. The singing will be therapy for me! Hugs all around.
tc ((mimi))
and I am off as well. Might be back on late. tc all and happy babbling!
anyone still here??
anyone still here??
didn't mean to sound like an echo, lol....
hi pen, I'm here

Na6 ends in picnic pest
yes, got it, ty Molly
Ty Molly
And I missed the nm so I am just blathering nonsense for no particular reason.
No, because i still needed it
Ah good L. It's hard to keep up when people ask for a clue and get the word in a matter of seconds.
Why doesn't that work for me??

It's a pretty quiet crowd for a Friday, as the regular crowd shuffles in. (With apologies to Billy Joel).
And, with a banjaxed Achilles tendon, maybe I'm the only one shuffling....
*Pours doubles for Soodle in the hopes that she won't break out into ABBA next*
I am being quiet here in the great Northwest. Chilly day but we hope to see a movie this evening. It is down town and I never know what my husband will take offense at in his own inimitable fashion.
🎧🎼🎶The winner takes it all🎧🎼🎵🎶
hello
Hi TO.
*Takes doubles away and replaces them with bitter, watered down wine* What movie are you seeing Gran Mere?
Being quiet can be good, too, GMere! ((((Molly))). Loving that icon.
hi gmere. actually i need to o rustle up dinner...just signed on out of habit.
and so I will. starving, had a carb frest today and they do not stick with you.
Enjoy dinner TO!
Really? Carbs make me feel stuffed. It's lean food that makes me hungry an hour later.
Superior smirk. I had grilled chicken, grilled peppers & salad for dinner earlier. And now I have a
hollow feeling.
All for now have a ncie evening all.
Actually, my overriding feeling this evening is outrage. At the end of last Summer, I asked Son of Soodle to drain the petrol/gas out of the lawn mower. He forgot. The machine wouldn't start last weekend, so I dropped it in for a service. €133.20 was the service charge!! I am horrified.
I don't get it. Wouldn't the gas just have evaporated out of the mower?
Never mind, Google just answered that question. We could have a long talk about sons who forget things over a bottle and two glasses.
Apparently not, Molly. It broke my heart to pay this shyster. Crikey! If I spent that much money on a pair of shoes, at least I'd have nice shoes.
Our day will come, Molly, our day will come. We will discuss forgetful sons, lawn mowers, other Babblers(!), shoes, ships, sealing wax, cabbages & kings.
This is why the man worth having around is the Mr Handyman/Fix It Guy who is on your payroll. I don't want another husband, they are tedious. But I would love to have a Mr. Handyman/Fix It Guy.
I second that, Moll.
Chuckling at the thought of Molls interviewing potential Mr Fixits. Stud
Oh they don't even have to look good. That would be a plus, but all I really want it someone who will say the five magic words "I'll take care of that"
i dont drain my mower, although I know I should.
Oh, and then REALLY do it.
Oh yes. That would be good. 'Don't worry. I'll sort that out'. Better than Acracadabra.
good evening.
hi, phan.
how are you, TO?
fine, and you?
glad to be off tomorrow!
tgif
ah, the hairy nosed dolphin appears.
yup! I do have to work Sunday though; But then, I enjoy Monday and Tuesday off!
hairy nosed dolphin?
yes. in4
Oh Phan, how have you been here this long and not heard the countless references to the hairy nosed dolphin? : D
it swims by not quite so frequently lately.
is soodle still here?
And the volcano, and the monkeys, and the Hawaiian goose and "this grid has teeth" and poof and babblets...
I have not, weird. Is it the In with vowels, word? I am googling it and not getting results.
I have heard all of those other references.
yes Phan
Soodle often has an attention span problem when it comes to Babble : P
thanks, Lilli
Yw
Owl. I'm here. It's not so much an attention span problem as a demand on my attention.
Clue for the co 8 please
paper thrown at weddings witchy
Thanks lil
yw
Hi, lilliann. How goes things?
Soodle...she's IN DEMAND : D
Hi Jaxx, good thanks.i saw my brother today for over an hour and i have one of my nieces' here for the weekend. the last time i saw her was last November for about an hour and a half. My bairn and her are like twins...even though they are 2 years aparts, they finish eachother's sentences and say the same things at the same time
How's it with you Jaxx?
Thanks Lil. I don't ever recall seeing that word on Babble before. I remember on my wedding day, co8 was thrown around with gay abandon. Much of it got lodged between me & my dress. The dye in the crepe paper ran, introducing an interesting pattern....
They've always got on well and haven't seen eachother for 3 years
I was supposed to go and see a friend of mine from teaching college fifty years ago. She cancelled asshe wasn't well which was a shame.
just wanted to say my friends ran ahead of the rain for the whole trip. they said the weather was much worse here than there.
I have never been at a wedding where co8 was thrown. Rice, yes, back when that was allowed.
oh soodle! did it ruin the dress?
yes, no more rice. just rose petals. like they don;t stain and are not slippery. I do not get it.
Yw Soodle. What a shame, but i don't think it's quite like it was now
Alot of Churches won't allow co8
Nope, but my carefully selected underwear was multicoloured!
Or bird seed. I would rather nothing be thrown than bird seed. And the blowing bubbles thing is just too froofy for me.
It was used before churches got worried about tidying it up afterwards. Rice is bio degradable and birds will eat it.
Oh, Jaxx, that is such a shame, hopefully you'll catch up with her again soon
Oh, like your carefully selected underwear was not just torn off and cast aside later.
i think the objection to rice is slipping on it?
You can still get Co7 but it is different, as it is now, biodegradable
Owl.
Owl.
*snorts iced tea* cough cough
Owl? Was their trip positive?
It was, lilliann, as she lives in kent and had gone to a great deal of trouble to arrange extra days in devon so we could get together.
yes, very. i think it is their third or fourth.
Sorry i forgot to say hi to TO:D
they went with a local band who played four gigs then they had a free day in each city.
*Sends L to the stockade for forgetting to say hi*
Excellent! :-)
hi lil
Rice hurts...
Bunches up in the stockade to make room for Lil
*mixes up a margarita for lil*
Carefully notice that Soodle had no response regarding her wedding undies.
they are very irish and they love bear. what more?
BEER! they love BEER!
I'm really sorry jaxx about not seeing your friend.x
At our stage in life you never know if you will see each other again. I have friends who have had cancer scares, MS and other nasty things. One was killed when a drunk put his car into reverse instead of first. His car shot out and collided with her car in the front seat where she was sitting. We had been friends since I was 7 and she was 9. I felt I had lost part of me.
Cutching (cwtching) up to Soodle in the stocks...well, atleast we'll keep warm Soodle :)
Oh wow, okay. *Pours a round of drinks for all*
sorry jaxx
Make mine a strong one.
need to do some cleaning, company coming tomorrow, need to do a week'sworth in twelve hours. . bbl
"Cutching In The Stockade" sounds like a Harlequin Romance Novel.
I do not like this grid
Sorry Jaxx, it's hard to lose a close friend, especially in difficult circumstances
Neither do i jaxx
Soodle, Molly can feed us alcohol through straws
(((Lil)))). As for regaling you lot with the story of Soodle, her multi-coloured underwear & her wedding night, well, tough luck. You're just going to have to buy the book.
Bye To, tc hin
Yeah, yeah, promises, promises.
I have been in and out all day and I still have 56 left.
I have 54 jax :)
I keep hearing about tawdry life stories from you people, but so far, no one is putting out.
hello again....
lol...
i don't even do facebook...
Because we like to tease you Molly..
Hi Pen
Why Pen? You don't want all your friends, family and people you barely know to have access to every minute detail of your life?
nope....more importantly i don't want to feel obligated to follow every minute of their lives... ;o)
hi lilliann...
Tawdry life stories? Oh my. As I lay my head down to sleep tonight, I'll pray for a tawdry life event or two... Just for Molly. :-P
Okay my fellow Babbleonians. it's Friday night and I need to move on with my life.....1 left wi 5/18? It cannot possibly be as difficult as I've made it out to be. It's HUGE..I can't move on. Put me out of my misery. What the he** is it? Aaaack
L, trust me when I tell you that no tawdry autobiography would make me gasp or breathlessly turn the pages. My own story is tawdry enough, I don't need to read another.
wi + what you bask in the sun for...
this seems to be a toothy grid tonight.
hi phan...
wi + brown color your skin turns on bech
*beach
See, Phan is right in with the "Babble jargon"
Gramma. That was heartfelt! Lol
Oh for Pete's (whoever he may be) sake! tHANKS.
Gramma, i think this grid is a pain!!
YAy!!WTG Gramma!!!:D
Yay for Grammas FW's!!!!
I may have bee a wee bit dramatic but I also meant it. I need to move on.
congrats!
Well thank God for Gramma's finish. After that dramatic post I was concerned about her welfare.
Before I leave you all, need a clue?
Thanks, Pen. and on that note, with 54 left I am abandoning this grid and hoping for better tomorrow. I have a Diana Gabaldon novel to read and my time would be better spent reading that. I will see you tomorrow, folks. Look after yourselves
Molly, you should be.
Don't we all Gramma:) i still need 49, so i'll plod along but thanks anyway
goodnight, jaxx....
I love it when L plods.
Goodnight all
jaxx I like your attitude. i will follow suit and persue another pleasure. G'night
I've never heard of her Jaxx, night hin, sweet dreams and good reading :)
Night Gramma, tc and good reading
She writes time travel bodice rippers and she's well worth reading
Gramma, your profile is really lovely. I envy you. You seem like a contented lady.
Now I am going for real
I've written her name down Jaxx
Thanks. I'm never what I seem to be. Nigh- nigh
LYRToouoou
Now i'm scared by Gramma...
Pardon Soodle, she appears to be heavily into the wine tonight.
Absolutely no idea how that happened.I can't even blame the cat.
It was me soodle's next to you in the stocks!! :)
Lol Lil! I'm calling it a night anyway. Fare well all.
L, you are such a good friend, trying to maintain Soodle's saintly image and all that. : P
Can i have a clur for un5/16 please before where we all drink
Night Soodle, sweet dreams and tc hin
There are 2 un5/16 one is un + where you go to drink and the other is un + the first three of where you deposit your money
I sound like the French guy from 'The Pink Panther' and i can't remember his name....remembered...something clueso?
Ty Molly, i did say that i had the drink one:))
Ah oui, Jacques Clouseau
That's it Molly :)
Merci beaucoup
Yes you did L and I did not read your clue correctly. Blame that on the head cold that has invaded my life.
Sending head cold tablets and freshly squeezed fruit juice and a hug to Molly
Head colds are alot worse than other colds, because atleast with them you can snuggle up in bed
Your clue? Your post. Ack. Thanks L. I don't do cold tablets but I do have a juicer and love fresh juice.
i am finally winding down from my week long cold....thank goodness!
oh, just realized I finally made it half way.
I'm so tired of people who come to work sick, hacking and sneezing and spreading their crap to the rest of us.
I don't do tablets either Molly
that doesn't sound sanitary
i stayed home.. ;o)
Glad tyo hear that you are getting better Pen:)
can't they use a restroom like everyone else?
Yay Phan :)
I'm more tired of employers who have no tolerance for people who need to take a sick day.
That's just stupid Molly as why have sick days if people can't use them, and genuine sick people
Ru :)
thank you, lilliann....lingering cough but nose is much better...
L, in my line of work, people who call in sick are referred to as (apologized to all the fragile people) pussies. You are supposed to suck it up and come to work no matter how sick you are. Which is insane.
I suppose that is the problem...as alot of people who do get sick still go to work but then you have people throw sickies because they have a football match to watch or baseball game
*Apologies
Oh my goodness
*runs from the chat*
Well, if you get paid and don't get sacked for being sick, then they should take sick days, and sod being calling a pussie
Sorry Ru, you can put something bitter about me in your profile tomorrow. : P
I had better not comment on pussies at work.. or I'm in big trouble
Health is more important and if a person isn't 100% well then the job won't be done properly...so better that a person takes the time off
Ru...i have a hairy pussy.....and a toirtoishell!! :D
That would be the common sense approach L. Alas, not many employers have it.
*another hall of fame chat entry*
*Hands The Black Sheep Of Babble trophy over to L*
Hardly, i was saying it for you, as i knew what you'd say...i winding you up man!!:D...you're too predictable :)
well.. that's one way to wind me up I guess
But i do have a pussy that needs trimming!!
oh jeez
* I need to put spanks on now :D*
seriously
I meant my cat
Oh this is too funny, and they are probably still bitching about me on Facebook. Ahahahaha!
do they still do that Molly? Don't they have something better to do?
I was joking Pbr...and talking about my cat, as she does need a trim
So apologies sent
I have no clue Ru. And I really don't care much.
understood.
wonders who would dare trim a cat
and still have fingers left
I don't want to offend anyone.
That's Molly's job!! :)
I don't know either molly as I avoid FB like a plague
too tired to try this anymore
just started reading in middle of posts!
Right, because L is all "hi hin, how are you doing, love you, kisses and hugs" : P
Hi, all. And for what it isn't worth, the last time I saw Molly's name in the FB community, someone was trying to get a message to her, and they were told Molly's not on FB. And that was a few months ago. Not that you care. :)
..and i'm feline.. good..
And hi Pbr, i've not seen you here before i don't htink
LOL Ru
that's progress then Pam..
Good morning all :)
Wow, pbr! LONG time :)
Me to Phan
Pam, thanks. But I have been sent nasty passages about me on the Babble Facebook page that were reiterated here, just in case I didn't see them.
Hi Pam
Hi Liz:)
Been around, but not as much as I would like. Turns out tonight I have internet and a computer. I have tried using my ipad, but to no avail.
I was only added to that group about 6 months ago, and again, I haven't seen anything since that last time, two months ago. Maybe I am blocked.
I lurk these days, pbr.
That's a shame Pbr
you lurk all the time pam :D
I usually don't post much..but obviously conversation caught my attention tonight.
LOL! Same here, pbr. And yes, ruru, that's true. :)
Almost 10 years a player. :)
I'm sure tonight's conversation will be on the Babble email hotline, if it's not already.
it gets a little looser around here during cocktail hour pbr
not that I had anything to do with it *blinks innocently*
don't recall the 'looser' but on to the game.
Right, ruru.
Now I'm going to have to read back to see what I've missed!
<---pure as virgin snow
So you both like pussies then, there's nowt wrong with that... i like mine, especially when she's on my lap and i can stroke her.. i find it very soothing!
SHUT UP RU!!!!
*ties fingers*
*ties tongue*
*sits on hands for good measure*
:D
*two entries in the hall of fame.. we're shootin' for a record tonight*
And i was talking about my cat...i think:D
I hope so
For once, I will do that goofy cheer thing, Go L Go!!
Don't think; it only clouds things. :)
So do i or i'm on the wrong website!!
(molly, i knew what i was saying) :D
Oh L, I know you know what you were saying.
*considers church this weekend*
I'm not sur about other people...they probably think i'm a trout!!
what's a trout in England .. what does that mean?
Oh for God's sake, church? There aren't enough earthquakes in California?
Would they let you in Ru??
doubt it
slut
HA
Trout sounds better than tuna
New expression for me. Is it northern, Lilli?
Pb for me, i'll do my troutish catty thing there:)
*marks calendar 4/4/14.... Pam appearance*
I was floundering around trying to figure out what trout meant
Mark it twice. L surpasses any offensive thing I have ever even THOUGHT about saying here.
Have you never heard that Liz? i'm not sure, it could be southern
No, not heard it before. Smiles innocently :)
Have you never heard the expression...'you're an old trout'!!
no..
It might not mean slut, it could mean you're an old bag
slut is really an offensive word isn't it?
It's only offensive Molly if someone knows what you're talking bout
Vaguely stirring something in my memory but not an expression i know well.
It's only offensive Molly if someone knows what you're talking bout
I wouldn't call anyone a slut
I can think of one liz
I wouldn't either, which is why you say a trout...not so offensive
kim kartrashian
lol!
oops I mean kim kardashian
I don't like it when people call other's 'tart's!
tart to me is delicious
Unless it has jam ini
*in it
Lemon tart or custard tart - yum.
apple tarts ;;;;;;)))))))
innit!
lemon tarts are great too
Hungry now - and I've only just had breakfast.
Cherry tart :))
I'm not a sweet person but i do love an apple or rhubarb crumble
going to head out .. thanks for the laughs.. *waves to pam*.
Have a good evening Ru - as ever, you've made me smile :)
Bye Ru, tc hin, great to see you
Bye, ru! I wandered!
Hi everyone, clue for the he7 plz
Hi lbd.
he 7 - he + consonant + anagram of operatic song
he and sounds like when you rip something and vowel
Hi Lbd
That's a good clue clue liz
I liked yours, too.
Not liking this grid too much. 16 left!
Ty, liz. And hi liz and lillianne
Ty hin, i've got more than you left :)
Help please - TE 5/12 for fireworks. Please.
Sorry Jindigo, i don't have that one yet
Sorry - don't have it yet but looking.
will look
Ah but Lilli, I started yesterday
i thought i could monkey it - but it ain't happening
found it...now to clue it
I just monkeyed it! te + consonant + british thanks
hello everybody, I am back to Babble after a year hiatus, hope everybody is well!
It's a normal babble word
Yay liz
te + no one likes to get a r****l exam at the doctors
Or t+ that
Nice one, Molly.
Normal Babble word? Are you serious L?
LOL Funniest.Clue.Ever.
Hi Eno - good to meet you :)
Is there such a thing as a normal babble word?
Hi Enomis :)
Hello Lil. Glad to send you a smile. : D
thanks all - funny clue Molly
Congrats, Jindigo
:)
well, it's one we have loads, but i can never remember it, and i couldn't think of a clue
(((lil)))
Hi enom, welcome back
ra 6/24 pls
nm - doing a peri
Also, I think "normal babble word" is an oxymoron. Agreeing with Liz.
Thanks lbdawger, good to be back!
Perhaps words are only normal if they are in your own vocabulary.
Molly, it's better than having something up your butt!
:D
I'm shutting up now and diving in, before i dig a bigger hole!!
L, you can go back to your sweetie pie stuff. You have topped my "most offensive person at Babble" thing umpty million times tonight. YOU OWN IT.
guess I chose a good time to be back lol!
This is my other 'twin'...:(
Have i really been that offensive?
I don't find you offensive.
howdy again everyone:)
But perhaps I'm not easily offended.
Hi Crossy:)
howdy, lilliann:))
Hi Crossy - I'm sure like so many others, I thought of you when I found ba 5!!!
Did you get your test results, Crossy?
Me too Liz
:) was my first word of the day liz:)
:)
refresh my memory, liz. which test?
Diving in as i can't keep my gob shut!
At school - last Monday, I think.
Have you done another since then?
any clues for the 8?
ahh ok. I went into the final with 95%. the final titself was worth 15% of the total mark. I lost the picture a bit and got 66% on the final for a term report grand total of 90% overall
Wedding bits of paper / rice co 8
itself*
yxs lizlin
Wow! 90% is really good - sounds even better when you say 9 / 10
tks not yxs lol
Congrats, Crossy.
I am quite happy with it:). not happy with the final but 90% is 90%
L, you are never offensive. Neither am I. It's all about the people who choose to take offense. You remain one of my favorite people here. Don't ever change.
I agree totally Molly - wow, we're agreeing a lot. Kind of scary!!!
ditto.... ;o)
would someone clue the bottom right corner I word ? tank u
Just finished reading The Old Man and the Sea for our next report. Was a fast, and enjoyable read;)
I loved that book, when I read it - long time ago!
now I get the joy of tearing it down into quivering shreads and putting it under a microscope, then writing about it:)
I think it's that dolphin that gets talked about so much Lil.
shreds
I think that's one of the things that eventually I got really fed up of doing, Crossy. I now read purely for pleasure - don't want to analyse too much, if at all. Superficial perhaps, but just the way it is now.
in and 2 vowels Lil
agreed liz, for my personal reading pleasure I hate tearing a book down like this, but for school they seem to love it:(
I studied German at uni - and we always had to analyse down to the nth degree. Turned me off in the end - but never off reading!
Thanks Molly, but i apologise to people if they think i've been too crude
Lilli - we are what and who we are - people should accept us as such!
I also never mean to offend though.
Back to the grid
OK thanks
yup. If we were all the same, things would get boring
Ta5, 1st one?
It's unfortunate that there are so many Literature classes that make people feel that way. There are really good professors that can teach a class like that and make people enjoy how writers come to their craft.
Add a consonant to the ta 4
Ty, liz
yw
not that I hate the tear down books. It just gets the joy of it pales after a bit. It will be a grand total of 16 weeks of this non-stop before it is all over
Don't get me wrong, Molly. I enjoyed the literature I studied but after 4 years, just wanted to read for pure pleasure and still do.
hello hello
HI Cos
good lord. She would crucify me for that sentence I just posted. lol
It's probably writers that get into that kind of thing more than avid readers. I always found it fascinating.
come out of lurkdom to say to hi to Cos
Hello Cos, hi hello and hi.
Thoug I will say one thing. Once you have waded neck deep into the minutae of the craft of writing, you gain a new respect for published authors.
But for example, who are we to say that hanging up washing represents claustrophobia - how do we know that's what kafka was saying?
God forbid L should lurk while there is someone who needs saying hi to.
lord save me from a overload of symbolism
I can't help it, i ws brought up to be polite...saying that after tonight and things i've said...
We don't Liz, but that is what makes discussion of a writer and his work interesting. For me anyway.
4 more words to go - then i really must go back and read this chat!!!
It did me for a while but eventually I had too much of it, I think.
How can anyone not say hello? What a wonderful word!
4 more weeks and I can read just to read again:)
L, seriously, you take "polite" to a whole new level.
Fireworks! Finally
on the bright side, I have discovered that I have a knack for editing. I get at least 5 kids (18-25's) a day bringing me their papers before hand in time for some peer editing.:) . My red marker gets a workout:)
congrats!
yaa for liz!!
Yay!!WTG Liz!!
Tadone! Finito!! Thank you for the clues!
yaaa for lbd!!
congrats
Thanks all and congrats, lbd
Yay!WTG Lbd!
L, I don't think anyone is going to go cry in the corner because you forgot to say hi. You can feel free to work on the grid as you will.
Have a good night / evening all and thanks for the clues.
Night Liz and tc
gn liz
I know Molly, but if i've spoken on the chat, and recently when someone speaks i feel i should reply...it's not nice when someone talks or asks for a clue and no-one answers
See sometimes I see someone asking for a clue and no one is responding and I still dont give one because I wish to remain lurking. I see nothing wrong with it :)
anyway sorry to have butted in :)
I must admit, i'm like that too at times Cos.
People are not always 100% attentive to chat. At least I hope so. It's not offensive if someone does not get responded to in a split second.
When i'm lurking, but if i've been speaking i feel like i should say something, whether it's to say a clue if a have it or not
in the rush of the chat, things are often missed and only caught after many repeats. I am not bothered if no one responds instantly to a clue request
Cos, you're not butting in:)
If i get desperate and need a clue bad Ill just pretend I just got here.
Butted in? Feeling delicate tonight? : P
the whitest of all white lies I think :P
yeah im still in work mode
It's just me then, it's just who i am...
we are all who we are and unique, as it should be
and thats ok lilli!
I can be the nicest person going and if you cross my family or me, then i'm the mama bear!! :)
*but
sounds like me at work.. fun and easy going til you break a rule ;)
Now i sound threatening...sorry
Just as it should be Cos :)
It's just a chat, really, just a chat. You don't have to check in and out like everyone is dependent on your every move. You don't have to feel guilty if you don't greet someone. We all have reasons why we don't promptly respond.
And sometimes, golly gee, we need to go attend to real life things.
I know Molly...i will try:)
May I have permission to go to the bathroom Molly?
Hell no. Hold your water. : P
It's just that i was always brought up to answer people's questions and be polite
Even now, in my forties, it has stuck...
So was I. I guess its more complicated now that theres an online world too
does rules apply to both or just one?
That is fine in a real life situation L. It doesn't play on internet time.
well, the difference in here is that there may be 20,30 or more active players all talking, gaming or whatever all at once. sometimes instantaneous repsonses cannot happen in the same way as if you were having a one on one chat with someone
for all I know cosdem may have asked me how to make my famous bacon vodka 5 lines ago and I missed it:)
Exactly, people are not "here" 100% of their time. They are at work, dealing with family things, taking a break, etc.
no. I asked 14 lines ago. :P
I know Molly, but that's who i am, and whether i'm online or not, i can't help it...and do yopu know, people always tell me how polite the bairn is, and if she's polite on line then good for her..
crossy hangs his head in shame..;))
Oh my, now Cos is going to go cry in the corner.
Cos, both or just one?
Oh well, my point is lost. It's not about being polite. Being polite is great in face to face communication. But (hopefully) people are not glued to their computer and hanging on every word in a chat log.
Ba 5/16 vodka??..really??
Molly that was what I was trying to say :)
If she ever plays on here on her own and she has her own account, i hope she is polite to people...ok...well then when she's on here next time, i'll tell her be offensive to people then, shall i...that's really going to go down well here...she'll be called a troll!!
.It is chat room. there has to be some give and take, some ebb and flow and less rigidity. No one will live or die based on what we post here today:). Politeness and common courtesy of course never hurts.
Hi Zooz
I know Cos, I was trying to reiterate your point. Both of them seem to be flying out the lead balloon window.
Hello, Lilliann :-)
Have you finished Zooz?
Yes finished a while ago now..you?
Zooz, can you not sleep as your'e up very late/early
indeed, zooz.email me if you will and I will share my secrest on it

if you wish to*
35 left, and i'm giving myself til half past to finish
I seemed to have used up my typing skills for the day:((
Yes i will o that at some point, Crossy, i think i would enjoy the flavour.
Up late, Lillian, Getting ready to retire for the rest of the night :-)
it is more of an essence, a subtle hint in the background of flavor. it is not overpowering
Oh you cuties and your extra u's. : P
I did wonder..sounds really nice.
we love our u's
Teehee, Molly :-)
hi all. clues for the 8s please?
CO* Shredded paper thrown at weddings.
CO8 that is.
ty zooz i got it.
yw :-)
how about some 7s? i have none of them yete.
though notice, I did not add it. After all these weeks of Microsoft office hammering the alt spellings at me , I am not surprised. The school computers reset to default settings every night, so I never bother changing it from U.S setting anymore.
he + oxygen + vowel...
Just swap them around at will.:)
sorry...forgot a letter...it's he + cross letter + oxygen + vowel....
It's just confusing that words like actour, majour and motour are not included in that extra u thing.

WE never spell it "tyre" unless I am doing something fancy
ah never midn then
though it is common in the U.K of course
Must admit we do spell it tyres here.
we do not call a car hood a bonnet or a car trunk a boot either:)
lol..sorry, Crossy, you beat me to it.
lol, zooz
We call pants..trousers :-)
blank heads???? candy bar. no dont know it.
yup and a flashlight a torch
true.
viva la difference!
any other clues for 7s out there?
Lots of Brit/Canadian crossover in how to spell and say things. Go to hospital, instead of go to the hospital, go on holiday, instead of go on vacation. go to cottage, instead of...oh I don't even know what that would mean here.
and a fanny is a butt :)
RA8 rodent + childrens TV car**** bit like anime
in the English language, many things from many cultures are shared
Not even a butt, don't try and clean up your reputation now L.
Faucet is a tap...bringing it back to better conversation

thanks for the help, cos. down to 136
hey all
hey stid and others! I am just arriving and read that people are not enjoying this grid.
hey bugs it isn't easy...
altho if you keep giving hints like that cosdem, I will be happy
bugs, so happy for your boy's new employment -- has he started already? Grant had a "job" this week helping at a local church while their regular custodian took a break. He enjoyed earning money. :-) hoping he'll make it a habit!!!!
Yes he is working in a family run welding shop just north of Edmonton. I am glad it is a small organization because he is just starting out and he will probably get jobs with more variety than he would at a huge place.
so it's even better than I had imagined -- except for the being so far from home bit.
"family run" has a nice ring to it, though...
I think he will do well there and welding is a good fit for him. He likes things to be done well and welds have to be done well or things leak.
lovely my mom found a new app that makes funny pictures out of her pictures and she wont stop sending me pics
rofl... don't worry, she'll grow out of it
and you had some good news on the job front too, I think cos?
I think it is great how your mum tortures you cos. It means you are on her mind a lot and you are loved.
what good news cos?
yes stid!
i agree bugs :) and the good news was i had my first job performance eval. last night. was told i was a successful hire, 5% pay raise, will be back enxt school year - and will become certified state employee on august 3rd
a cushy state job, full benefits, retirement, pension etc.
:-D *proud mama-by-association look for cos*
was unemployed for 5+ years so I was getting scared for my future.
WELL DONE COS! I thought you would be perfect for a job playing with kids and being a friendly uncle typy guy!
sadly this means we have to live in this town for a long time. so conservative here lol but hey.. the jobs good and the scenery is gorgeous.
but thats ok. we are in the process of buying a store too ... not too many people know yet
I put my job in jeopardy today... I called in sick because of a stupid migraine. Not the best timing, the last day before break. Missed a meeting yesterday because I didn't feel "great" already. *sigh* BUT I looked up my social security logs tonight and I FINALLY have enough credits to retire (being out of work while childrearing put me almost two decades behind...)
If you stay long enough anyplace becomes home. It is filled with friends
wait wait. STORE????? will you sell books and useful things, or dumb things like food and clothes?
my brothers' store sells dumb things like food... *sigh* so inelegant no tiaras for me!
lol well no... well we will sell candy bars and stuff but... ryan is currently working as a manager for someone who has to sell his store due to him owning a 7-11 which violates 7-11 policy.
so hes selling it to us really cheap. we had an accountant and a lawyer look it over, plus ryans mom who is an exec accountant at wells fargo.. all looks good.
oh -- that is strange, but I suppose it's nice for ryan!
our loan was just approved. and we are now on thebusiness license.
stid you can't be thinking about retirement already and anyone who has had migraines know you can't go into a flourescent lit classroom with noise in it.
and for you, too -- but owning a store is HARD WORK. *worried mama look* don't overdo things!
its a smoke shop :(. but the profits are prety nice.
and right by a military base. excellent location.
I was sooooooo opposed to the idea but looking over the papers... it does look good besides ill just be a silent owner. no pun intended.
I couldn't even stand upright today, Bugs -- it was a really really bad one. Woke me up just before midnight (this was after I had already taken the prescription meds for it!) so I wrote up lesson plans and sent them to our wonderful secretary, phoned in to the sub service, and turned off my alarms...
roflmao -- cos! you're so silly. :-P
wishing you well on the store. If Ryan handles the store front and you work at your job, you will have everything covered.
aww what will the kiddos do without you stid?
thats the plan bugs.. and i can work at the store over summers.
it was my first time calling in sick -- I have taught with a kleenex box in one hand and a whiteboard marker in the other; wearing sunglasses because of migraine; with laryngitis... so I know they know it wasn't my first choice to stay away. :-( but I still felt sad to miss waving good-bye to the kiddos as they headed out on break
I don't think your job is in jeopardy
If we show up at work with even the sniffles we are sent home. i dont think your job is going anywhere.
could I get a clue for ta5/16, please?
you'll enjoy it, cos -- although it will be challenging I think. I know that when I was working in Walla Walla at a Sears store we had a number of migrant customers. It was difficult to communicate sometimes because my Spanish was academic rather than functional.
But I could count back change, and that always made them smile. :-D
well ASL is my native language sooo....
im a master in both ASL and english. which is a rarity.. not to toot my own hron
sorry Marc
I don't have that yet marc
ta + hamburger bread
ta + u eat hotdogs with a hotdog ***... a form of rbead
:-) My favorite part of working in stores is actually things like stocking shelves and fixing displays.
lol hamburgerrs or hotdogs.. either works
oooh. great clues, guys!
Such a cutesy-pie sounding word is actually a nerve gas ..
tor, how's that new guitar coming? I showed Grant the pics, and he was envious. One of the things he wants to do is make a guitar once we move home.
ty for the clues
gah. my brain is shot. how about that N in the fourth row down? my last blank. and then I think I should lie down for a while again
It's coming along. I'm just about done with the grain filling on the body. Learning as I go .. I've got some color on the neck. Should have more pics in a few days.
sorry stid. I can't help
na5/5 + hair remover + vowel
I'll keep my eyes peeled, tor -- I hadn't even considered needing to fill the grain, but it makes sense. I will have to strip and refinish what's left of my great-grandmother's hutch when we get it back, I have already decided to just seal and paint, but I know there will be things I need to fill where it burned.
na5/10 actually ..
ah. that's the currency word? *goes to look it up* thanks tor
yep. the nigerian one.
The other is no6/27 - dietetic
wow! down to 53 now
Go stid!
49... LOL (love having a cheering section)
Rah Rah Ree! Hit 'em in the knee! Rah Rah Rass! Hit 'em in the other knee!
*giggle*
*gasp* took me THIS long to find Cross' favorite food! *hangs head in shame* I'll blame it on the migraine.
oh stid, your migraine is migrating north. I think I need to stop for a bit. good hunting everyone
Bugs -- I am down to 46, need any helpful nonhints?
feel better, bugs --
hi all!
Heya uu
hey sue
decided to list even though I'm not 2/3 through (my own benchmark), brain has been a bit dead lately
hi stid!
zombification is rampant this time of year, sue -- you might want to make sure you have been getting enough iron to replenish blood supplies... *evil teacher look* at least my students have been feeling "drained" bwah-ha-ha-ha
iron, eh? Haven't worried about that in a long time...
are you dug out from snow yet, sue?
oh yes, it's all melted
was cold and windy today but no precipitation
good. I was worried you-all would have to scrape snow to light fireworks in July!
haha, it seemed like that for a while!
down to 42... getting slower.
going to list brb
30 here but have been listing for a while

Ok good. Let's go with that ..
the rest of the word (without the oo) is also a word, seems related
