yes, a big thing for each of my kids, a load of small eggs for in a bowl on the table and a load of bigger hollow ones for the egg hunt.

bars are fine, but when i am hiking i found i am burning tween 5000 and 6000 cals on a full day, so i do not give a darn about portion sizes:)
now Talc and moleskin is of utmost importance to crossy.
I want simplicity--a bar is easier to eat but throwing ingredients into a bag is easier.

they weigh next to nothing, pack small and generate power for devices
better than making a big firepit, especially when many areas do not allow that. biolite uses twigs already laying on the ground and leaves not environmental footprint, or next to none

We stopped at the Sacandaga River for lunch so a water filter would have been so useful. A swim cooled me off. That was wonderful.

And the Sawyer filter allows me to refill my water bladder. So I learned a lesson.
just make sure your hard water container has a mouth opening greater than 1 inch
then i just drop my straw right into the container, because i drink while on the move. make life easier

Mimi, I live in a house in the woods at 1400 ft above sea level, so not a real mountain, but in a development with 180 homes. Each home is surrounded by trees on circular lots and common property = trees. I live alone but have neighbors. find a place like this.
if you are way into the mountains and you think that emergenty treatment or contacting emergency pesonel may be an issue, mimi, get yourself a gps beacon. The are self contained power wise and good for 5 years.
