Greetings Friends
Hi pug - how is your visit with your sister?
Hi Di, it was very nice thank you---she gets to stay until Sat. So Iam very glad
That's great that you will have a whole week together.
it is :) I know it will go too fast though
ac 5 at the beginning of the list
Goooooood morning fellow Babblers xxxx
Morning Wor
Good morning Pug xx
did you have a nice easter Wor
I did thank you pug, although, as usual, I was in the garden at 8am painting a fence, then up the gym, then out for a cycle. How about yourself? x
i give up. hopefully someone will post a list soon. i simply cannot see ac5 at the beginning of the list of ac words.
Good morning Mum xx
hello dearest son, and {{hugs}} miz pugs. i hope you both had a wonderful easter.
li 5. 5 4 5 4 6 6 4
Hi ya Rose, hugs are you stressing over there-lol
ac 4.5.4.5.4.5
it's actually the second word
granny, ac 5/16 is an adj of the highest point
I did Wor. My sister came in from out of state and is staying a week, ty
thanx diz, i looked and looked for it, and thought it was a phantom
Hi Diz,isle,broll and bf
Thing is, now that I've finished in the garden I won't know what to do with myself! I have a few seeds left to plant, but that's it. Think I'll take up gardening for a living
hey Pugs.
yw
I need 3 x c, 2 x d, 2 x h and 6 x m and I can't think any more
lolol, pugs, just a lot. lovely to see you are having such a long visit from your sister.
and thanx to broll, also. i thought it was the first ac. *sigh *
Wor, maybe someone close by that isnt able to do theirs might like a helping hand with their garden
have nearly half an ac4 here, son...come on down...my shout.
thanks Rose---but I think you need to calm down--lol
Half an ac? My word that would cheer me up no end lol
we need a goat, anyone want to volunteer?
well, i'm quite good at acting the goat . . .
lolol, i noticed, son
and so is ruru.....lolol
I had that thought on my mind but wasent going to say a word-lol
we only moved into this property last year and the garden is only about 100 sq ft. Our main problem is the soil. The silly sod that lived here before us dug it up and removed all the stones years ago - literally ALL the stones, so now our soil is very close to powder and is a nightmare. We're trying to get major patches in the lawn to regrow, but to no avail
Does anyone have all the 8's?
can you buy some top soil or something to mix into it Wor
anike, need 1 more
suggestion, son. you need to find a local race track/stables. and dig several bags of manure into the soil.
It's not really worth doing that pug because the lawn area is quite confined, as are the patches, and it would mean digging up the entire lawn and restarting it. That's not something I mind doing, but my dog needs the lawn for his "business"
Me too diz
BBL, have to organised dinner.
well what about a roll of lawn, which you just lay down on the soil.
Good idea though pug - might think about it at some point. Mum your idea ain't bad - although to be fair I don't know where there are any around here - could Google it I suppose, alternatively get my neighbour from behind to just come and stand in the garden, he's full of . . . .
roflma....son....now, now, be nice....
if nothing else Wor, raised planters look very nice too
oh, honestly Mum - you ain't met him. At least once a day he's round here asking to borrow this, that, the other - last night it was dog food!
his poor dog....is he a pensioner or something?
maybe, he really wanted some dinner for himself.
Anybody have all the h's?
nope, i suck at this game tonight. sorry i can't help
What about c's m's and D's?
no he's younger than me he's only about 40. We're both unemployed, see, and work round here is extremely hard to find at the moment, but he always seems to be able to come up with stuff to sell, if you know what I mean, and he's always on the borrow. OMG soooo funny - he came round the other day and asked if I wanted to buy a brand new PINK television for ten pounds. Like I said, he's full of it lmao
have ca x 10. any more?
Now Rose, how did the dinner with your son and wife go?
ca 9 0nly

I'm noit very good at trying to leave a list but I'll try if you want
Well I'm having none of it! Either I'm totally stupid or this grid is a monster. I can't get past 63 words, and my longest is a six!
poor dear son, it is a real struggle tonight. i have two lousy words to go.
now wouldn't it be amusing if your thick son had the two words that his clever mum didn't have xx
Have forgotten how to do list
hah!! found the m word, one n word, 4 letters.
Mind you, just as I give up all hope I find half a dozen more words

now extend that for a state of lots of mutual love for the ro7
i have the person who lives in the centre of italy, ro5/12, but don't get the other bit u put - ro5,7,8,8
add a consonant to the end of ro7, for ro8, past tense, and ro8, one who ro7's

son, lose the of in the middle
a movie of ro7, is a love story.

yay got the ro 8 clue quite easily!!! You'd never believe i actually have an iq of 149 and two degrees in English language and literature!
i should take a degree in english LOGIC!!!
now for the other ro8. start with ro7, then add a different consonant, for someone who ro7's
I dont think you dippy Wor but you are funny---and Iam much dippier than you-lol
yay got that one too! thanks mum! bugger me you're gonna soon tire of helping me lol
and ths Rose

i got fw's the other day for the first time ever and was going to run naked up and down the street to celebrate
rose I have that ma 6 - it's the 8 that I can't find.
yay got the nervous ending!!! ty mum xx
dianne, add the nervous spasm, t** to the ma6

good afternoon all
Hi sprite
hi Dianne :) I hope you had a good Easter?
Had a wonderful weekend. You?
yes, we just celebrated since the kids had other plans for yesterday. It was great :)
I don't know how you will find this grid but I have had a real hard time with it - still 20 left to find.
so far so good but only have 66 yet, so the hard part is still to come :)
like to go in order, from the x,y,z upwards but finally gave in and took anything I could get :)
lol! I admire that, so organised. I always start with everything I can get.
aya got both 9's
good morning all
meant yay
good for you peri
nice peri
ty, only one 8 so far
I'll leave the rest for tomorrow morning. Time to get the last part of dinner together, see the evening news and have glass of wine.
have a lovely evening and dinner, Dianne
Thanks and bye all.
hello. Just a uick lurk and 98 words. nbs but no nbt. Can't find singleton upper e in 5th column or middle a....L(
Is everybody in a chocolate glaze?
hi ruby, the lone E is a test.
no, the upper lone e
but thanks. How are you?
nm, got it
(did a peri)
help with top row E pls
pulling a peri, lol. I am good. Just celebrated Easter with our family and it was a blast. Very rewarding.
en6 make someone fall for you
good morning eeryone

speaking of beguile, here's {{crossy}}
hi Annie and crossy :)
{{annie}}
tyty
hi crossy, were your ears burning last night?
help with lone A in the middle pls
all my favorite ladies;))
hi ruby, thanks for your "oi' email, very funny

bye for now
ruby, have a good rest
tc ((ruby))
*woof*
and now it is time for crossy's tidbit of the day!!! - Hippo milk is pink!
interesting
lollllll ok, so that is what they make pink easter eggs from
lol
I thought a rabbit pooped out the chocolate easter eggs from some cave..
i know.. i am going to hell;)
noooooo not until you have handed in all easter eggs... they melt in hell!
lol (((sprite)))
;-) Well you know what they say... things are probably a lot better in heaven... but in hell you meet the more interesting people.
oh sprite, new addy for book downloading site www.bookzz.org
yes I noticed the email. They are forced to move a lot, poor ppl.
they seem to have to change every month or so:)
they need to start their own country like Sealand people did
*grin* All that illegal ado...
it is on my bucket list to get my passport stamped in sealand
awesome!
omg I found a compound. All by my freakin' self.
yaaa! share?
not foot and not by feet
ty!:))
yvw :)
how was your easter, crossy?
can I have the stats, sprite
i have always thought that one of those and some camping equipment would be a great way to travel
ha7/40, Annie
it was good sprite, and yours?
thanks, sprite
Mine was awesome. The kids demanded that the tradition was kept... so we had cryptic rhymes to point to the hiding place of the 'big' chocolate gifts, and we had an egg hunt, and an extensive breakfast.
my boy is too old for the egg hunt:(( i need grandbabbiess now:)
yvw Annie :)
hehehe crossy. My boy will be 18 next month. And he demanded that the tradition was kept. My girl is 16. And a friend of her would have come as well, because her parents say she is too old now... but she had to go to her grandmother.
it is good that yours are still young enough:) I am glad he is an adult now but there are some things i miss; like going to the theatre to watch all those cool cartoon movies and having a viable reason to do it;)
oh crossy, easily remedied. Go to a school nearby, grab the first kid of suitable age and hide up in a theater with him/her. They won't find you there and the kid will love it. Give back the kid afterwards to avoid problems.
lol. I am sure that will go over well:)
uhoh. Bad ieasprite! By the time it's over there'll be an amber alert and our crossy will be arrested.
just make sure it is not a porn theater. That might give trouble.
lol
tsk, crossy needs to wear a bugs bunny mask when kidnapping the kid, of course.
I watch all those CBC police shows. Go to the cartoon movies, but in the evening and don't sit near any children!
was scrolling through Netflix the other day and saw they had the 1976 version of the many adventures of Winnie the pooh with Sterling Holloway voicing pooh bear.. had to watch for 5 minutes..
hehehe
100 and real woof
ruby is doing a jilli as well
you had to imagine his life afterwards. going to the bank, talking on the phone. he would never be taken seriously. Imagine poor Sterling there in a bank managers office trying to get a loan but sounding like pooh bear asking for a jar of hunny lol
lololllll but so endearing that he got it anyway
" how much do you need Mr. Holloway?" "just a smackeral if you please"
or him saying "Oh bother" when he finds he is overdrawn lol
tellers would give him their own money lol
can't be easy
especially if he can say those lines and work up a good sad-eyed pout
mm, brb, i am off on a tangent here, means i need a tea
'here... take this... and that... here, take it all!'
lol " i need an overdraft because i am rumbly in my tumbly"
lol
fireflies. *hugs* to you all.
congrats, sprite

Going to be about 90 degrees here today....summer starting much too early.
ex4/10 phae
halfway, NBT and NBS - time for breakfast break
we're beginning to get into the 50s ...
need an e from the top row.
en 6/21 and en 7/36
dont have any yet...will look...
got the en6 - thx o-o
Clue for that, o-o?
en + a hospital-acquired infection: noso*****l
BB king said the thrill is gone ... not if you are en 6/21ed
Got it...thx.
No wonder that one didn't spring to my mind....haven't been in that state for a LONG time!
I think they refer to hospital acquired infections as HAIs now, don't they Mimi?
Don't know, Molly....I haven't worked in a hospital for awhile now. But, boy, if you're sick, try to stay away from the hospital because you'll likely get MORE sick there!
thx o-o foe en7 -- so on the uptake this morning "sigh"
SLOW "double sigh"
Everything has to have an abbreviation : D
LOL, montreal! Me, too, today! Well, actually, just about every day!
iatrogenic is in the same neighborhood
So right, Molly. I think the language is suffering a lot. No one actually has real conversation anymore.
most of my mornings start slowly... it gets better later in the day...most of the time... - NOT a morning person...
agreed mimi, took me forever to find en 6/21 because it is abbreviated;))))
I am more of a mourning person
aha-ha o-o
Me, either, montreal. I used to be a night person but as I've gotten older, I'm now kind of a twilight person!
Awww...o-o....
((crossy))
ever since i went into semi-retirement , I have become a morning person. Funny really. Used to loathe the alarm clock, but now that i do not need to set it, I am up even earlier than i used to be:0
I used to believe that the way a culture uses language tells a lot about that culture. But these days I don't like what it's now saying about us!
I'm up at 5 every morning but not out of choice...the cats MUST be fed early or they'll start nibbling on ME!
nbt, nbs. ty.
had one kid in class say to me "i like listening to you speak because you use real words" lol
Wow, crossy....so sad things have gotten this way. AND--I HATE texting!! Don't have a cell phone anymore but when I did that's the only way my kids would communicate. I wanted to scream "JUST PICK UP THE DARN PHONE AND ACTUALLY SPEAK TO ME!"
one other thing about being up with the birds; I have two loads of laundry and two loads of dishes done before 10 am:)
Yes, I like being up early now as well because by the time I actually wake up I'm halfway done with my work!
lol@ cats. Mine start chewing on my finger tips or trying to groom my beard if i do not get up
can't see much this a.m. - only 60 words found "sigh" - BBL - happy babblings all and take care - "poof"
one of my black kitties will try and part my beard right down the middle
tc mon13
I agree about texting, Mimi
bye cross "real poof"
"real 100% poof! no fillers!"
;)
And I very much agree with the idea that a way that a culture uses it's language, says a lot about them, and lately it says nothing good.
I was so mad at mine yesterday. You know I have my balcony/patio fixed up but can't let them out there unattended because they still find a way to get through the palms and up on the wall. Well, yesterday I had the glass door back and just the screen in place for fresh air...THEY OPENED THE SCREEN DOOR AND WERE OUT THERE ON THE WALL!!
lol, bad kitties
can I have more help with the en7 pls
Molly...did you see my posting awhile back defining Facebook?
No, I don't think I saw that
Here's my definition: A bunch of people with nothing to say, saying it constantly.
That's about it, Mimi. Add in all the idiot ads and the tracking devices and it makes me wonder about the popularity of the place.
I'm totally baffled at how many people want to deal with minutia now...I don't CARE that you bought apples at the store....I mean, really...
One of my friends says something similar. He says Facebook is like getting a "Christmas letter" every day.
I only use it to occasionally touch base with friends from high school back in Ohio. Otherwise, I have much better things to do with my time....like be in Babble!
Our language used to be one of the romance languages for a reason...now the romance is gone...sigh.
In the last 6 months or so, I have given up on facebook. I do not care for the privacy issues. darn program can identify what street i am walking down and pimp ads to me for places to eat based on my locale. Thing knows my exact location better than i do
can I have more help with the en7 pls
I need that one, too, sue....clue anyone?
want to see a graphic demonstration on how bad it is, mimi? Pick up a copy of david copperfield and give it a read. I almost had to retrain my mind the last time i did that!
ty for answering mimi, I thought I was invisible
en + a vegetative state with an extra vowel in third place
en+**me and go+Ms Farrow
Oh, dear, no, sue! We just get on a roll here sometimes.
sorry sue. I get that all the time as well:)
we get gabbing is all:)
Thanks, Molly...great clue.
When it gets to the point where you have to join Facebook because people have gotten too lazy to email or phone, it's gotten to a bad point...in my opinion
Thanks, grant.
what is the other en?
Being besotted with....
why does my neck hurt when I try to jog?
en 6/21 American version of love fascination
could be many things, sue
Sue, my guess would be disc problems in your neck. The impact of running is bothering the discs.
Crossy, even when I was young I loved language. I read most of Shakespeare's works during the summer break in 8th grade...fell totally in love with him, as many others have. My friends thought I was totally weird...which I was...and am..and happy about it!
But it's really for a doctor to figure out.
I guess my dreams of jogging off my weight is not going to happen, I don't like jogging anyway :)
a good mri of the neck will figure it out. Did that myself this winter just past. neck has three herniated disks and is full of arthritis;(
Still waiting on callback from specialist
Sue, it reminds me of the old joke....gal goes to dr. and says "Doc, it hurts when I do this" and he replies "well, don't do that!"
hiking still works sue. it is what i do. A nice 3 or 4 mile hike on a trail will burn those calories
Now that I'll have insurance as of May 1, I'm finding a family dr. and walking in and just saying "My body is a train wreck...FIX IT!"
I envy your location so much, crossy. If I try to speed walk here, the effect of the car/truck/bus fumes eliminates the health of the walking.
I took the dogs this morning and we loved it.
And, of course, in the summer we all stay hermetically sealed in our air-conditioned homes.
we are at the campgrounds this week, a lot of easy hills, but challenging also
poor mimi:(
mimi, that is an old joke lol lol
Oh, almost forgot to mention...had a great conversation with peri on the phone yesterday...what a terrific lady!
nice to see people finally getting medical care down there:) yaa for sue!
a friend of mine in P.A has coverage for the first time in a decade as well:)
I vote for walking over running any day. Much less impact and wear and tear on your joints.
I finally found the en6. ty all
agreed. Me running would be a joke with my bursitis
Before my heart attack I was doing the 1/4 mile walk to the bus stop in 7 minutes...not bad for an old broad!
time for a shower and a new day. bbl
YW, Sue!
Whoa...just found the bunch of ...ail words! Fun.
phantom: diorama....ramada...really good at finding those phantoms!
If only I was better at finding the actual grid words!!!
Going to get some breakfast now. Won't "poof" because no one would take me seriously. :))
Hey, Molly...is saying you're leaving but coming back again and again now called "Pulling a Mimi?!"
OK...I'm now officially babbling to myself...time for breakfast...and "poink" (crossy)
:)
I'll bet Mimi is still here. ;)
:) she can't stay away that long...
lol
she just isn't responding because it would prove us right!
:)
I'm back...fixed breakfast...yes, I WAS gone!!! LOL.
hahaha
sure, sure, sure :)
breakfast sure was quick...
Am having a Jimmy Dean veggie/egg/cheese croissant and I put tomato paste on it before I nuke it...yum...still munching.
she's very zippy.
hmmmm send some here
hego - nice word!
Zippy....I like that, nego!
lol
hego...sorry...cheese stuck to finger!
poor keyboard...
you should start dictating Mimi
mine has enough crumbs to make a sandwich.
Nope...get enough of that with work, Eno!
Hey, we're developing quite a group of people for the Niagara trip in the Fall....fun.
can't believe there is another 60 4 letters words in this grid!
Is it fall now?
Yes, hego...my lawsuit doesn't go to court until the end of June and not sure how quickly I'll get the settlement. This has been TWO YEARS of waiting!
not unusual, Mimi.
I know, especially when involving a government agency. They sure take our money fast enough, though, right?
going to take a shower, see you later Hego and Mimi! *poof*
Hego, do you know if Niagara has casinos? I don't gamble at all but they usually have great deals on food.
did not know that.
Oh, yes..in Vegas you can eat very well very cheaply. They use that to get people into the casino hoping they'll then gamble also.
I knew that.
did not know there were casinos in Niagara.
did not know there were casinos in Niagara.
They don't get my money that way...lost a quarter once in a slot and that was it for me! If I'm going to spend money in Vegas, I'm going to actually get something for it...rides, shows, food, etc.
Losing money isn't fun.
However, winning is. :)
Just googled it and looks like there are casinos. Great! Buffet, anyone?!!
So far we have me, peri, you, crossy, Trader Kate and Scrabbler. I'm going to try to persuade Jilly to come, too, and maybe work on ruru.
clue for the first ac6?
Perhaps Aloy will join us, too....she's terrific.
why does Kate not play anymore?
I miss her.
She was on yesterday. I think she has computer issues still.
Sorry, steve...don't have it.
I do see her on FB
there is no ac6
steve, no ac 6
Ooooh!! Now I do! Think "old."
ac 5 is ac + *** Jaguer
No, that's ar, not ac...sorry
must go. Later kiddies.
Hi and bye
Bye, hego...later.
Hego...are you still here? I have a question.
lol..here
Good...wondering if you'd be up for another trip to Italy. I've never been but dying to go and don't want to do so alone.
I am going to Florence in October. Just for one week.
I don't tour much anymore.
Always wanted to do an "eating tour" starting at the top and ending at the bottom!
very ambitious.
That might be good for me if you want some company.
I really must go now. bbl
If not, that's OK, though.
I am going with hubby.
Bye again.
It would be okay, but my trip is all booked already.
No problem.
Hotels in Florence are tough if not well in advance.
Might be dangerous for me to go to Italy...LOVE Italian men!
Uh, oh!
Byr...really!!
I'm going now, too....really...honest...

hello ru
Just ate takeaway Italian goat. Delish, but too greasy....
Takeaway goat??? : O
The local Sicilian made it for Easter dinner, but we had other plans, so he packed it up for today
Was that in a "to-goat box"?
I'm sure we'll all be sick
Oh my God, if I lived in France I would be a vegetarian for sure.
I've only had goat in Mexico and it was greasy there, too
I had curry goat. Greasy.
I'm imagining the looks on family faces if my answer was "goat" to "What's for Easter dinner Mom?"
There must be a better way to cook it, maybe over hot coats
Hot Coat Goat
Does anybody remember the "spam lamb" on MASH?
coals* whoops
Yes Ruby, in a queasy way. Canned meat makes me urpy.
I've never had spam but I recently read that it was a delicacy and a gift item in Korea
I think that's because they were starving.
but now they have boutiques dedicated to Spam, in special gift boxes
good morning, all :)
Spam sucks.
I don't know how my son does it, but his goat curries are never greasy. I'll ask, in case this comes up again!
Must go - good luck all.
I'd be curious but doubt that I'll ever cook it (or eat it again)
Clue for Co 8 & 9?
I have the herb.
Idiots who run your office together, how they do it
nice clue, Molly
Ty ty.
thanks for my two first words! 9's done :P
I never understand the clue "herb" for the other one since only Europeans call it that
No whining!
No whinging, either!
What else can you call it?
'Round these parts, we call it cilantro Ruby
aaah
I thought dried, it was co9 and fresh, it was cilantro
Yes. I think only the seeds make up the co9. The leaves are cilantro.
Don't get the whinging thing either. It's like a combination of whining and singing. But the worst was yesterday's fubsy. Seriously?
Who said futsy?
I think whinging is British
isnt that harry's street?
Fubsy was in yesterday's grid. New one on me.
Silly enable
Australian, ruby, as in 'whinging poms'
ah so that was the word I kept trying from Mollys clue thansk Judi!
I'm getting very good at Fr slang and swearing
My high school teachers would spin in their graves -- and they should!
Futz is an entirely different matter Ruby, a Yiddish one. : D
not in my shtetl lol
*Smacks Cos upside the head* Sounds like where you take a bath: tub...first two letters of what you put on pancakes: sy. How hard was that to figure out?
Is futz really a Yiddish word? Putz, yes, but futz -- oy
Oh I could be wrong Ruby, but futz is a word I learned from a Jewish friend, so I just made an assumption.
futz is a word, like "I should be cleaning house today, but instead I just futzed around on Babble"
I'm afraid I know very little Yiddish as it wasn't spoken at home, very secular family.
Putz, on the other hand....
<-- knows slang in several languages
putz has a literal meaning that I'm sure we don't have to discuss here
but more often it is used in the figurative sense, as in, "I feel like a putz because I futzed around all day"
I thought it was used in name-calling
yes it is, as well
hean
whoops!
Hi folks here for a few before lunch
So, what is it we are doing when we are fnurting around?
Putz as used often in my everyday life. We weren't religious, but we knew Yiddish words
fnurt is a swedish nonsense word
I think they use it in an Ikea commercial on Fr TV
hello bichon
hi ruby, how does this glorious spring day find you?
We finally had some rain, so the garden is glorious
As long as it doesn't go to freezing, all will be well
here's another yiddish word that is in today's grid: shanda
sadly babble does not recognize it
And I put bear garlic in tonight's salad
Our rain was last week. Since then, sun but boy have the mornings been frosty
isn't that a blessing?
Enable has tons of Hebrew and Yiddish words. I don't know how shanda would be written
Yiddish is so fun and useful.
I find that I can understand a little Dutch because it sounds so much like Yiddish
shanda (shonda) is like a shameful or pitiful act
I really don't understand why my father never taught me Yiddish.
Well my name is Kelley, after all lol
Dutch sounds a lot like Englis. So does Plat Deutsch, spoken in northern Germany
Some immigrants were made to feel that speaking their native language was embarrassing.
Was your maiden name German or Jewish. Mine was German
My father's parents spoke Russian (or maybe Ukrainian?)
My mother didn't speak Yiddish, so they didn't.
My maiden name was changed from Jaffe to Lief
My m.i.l. stopped speak German to my hubby and his brother when they moved to the US. What a mistake
I think my mother only heard Yiddish at home (in Pittsburgh) so when her brother took her to kindgarten whey said Libbie wasn't a real name, so she became Elizabeth
en 6/7, pls
My father's name was William, but they called him Velvel
What a seet name. I think my mother's was actually Luba but that didn't make it across
sweet*
It was sweet. I'm sure he grew out of it
I think Molly is right about immigrants and their native tongues.
My s.i.l.'s family is doing everything to see that my grandaughter speaks Ukranian
oh oh, bad connection here
Unless they work at the post office or the DMV
en 6/7? anyone?
No kidding Ruby
Did you know that there are more languages spoken in the borough of Queens than in any other county in the US?
187
My mail carrier is a 20 year vet getting ready to retire. He says that it's sad that Americans don't work for the postal service anymore.

Soodle!!! So good to see you here again!
Hi Soodle. HPPY eASTER
welcome back
Happy Easter
((((Bugs))))) ((((Bich)))) ..... Molly must be cringing at this hug fest, but thank you all. I had a lovely lively Easter in the bosom of my family. I am content. :-)
Oh, and news on my friend that moved to Dublin, she couldn't extend her visa, she is back her for a few months, then Padraig is flying here and they are going to get married in Vegas. Then come back here for the reception!! Gotta revive my party pieces!!
*here
so glad you had a good time with family and that you are content.
getting married in Vegas seems to unromantic to me
Jilly, I'd love to be able to coach you into learning a couple of Irish 'Come-all-yas'....
I know, she really wanted the wedding in Ireland...but now I get to party with her!!
Ooo, that would be great fun soodle!!
Is it difficult for an American to get a visa for here?
that is true Jilly. celebrating with friends is more fun whereever you are
Hi Soodle! Hello Jilly! Hello Bugsaw!
hi car.ee, and bugs!
Hiya Car. :-)
hi eeyore. good to see so many people here. I can in just at the right time
What is a tradition Easter meal in Ireland? Here it's ham, sometimes Kielbasa
Well, I guess her sweetie works for the government. She only has a 2 year RN degree, they won't give a license unless she has a bachelors, so she couldn't work and they couldn't pull strings to extend her visa
hello bichon too!!
hi Jilly
Lamb here, Bichon. Though I hate it. My sister cooked yesterday, and as a hat-tip to me, forsook lamb, and did a delightful roast beef, with all the trimmings.
Hi all
we have turkey or ham bichon
Our traditional EastOver meal is lamb
Never did get a taste for lamb...
Soodle, I always say if you hate lamb then you've never had good lamb
EastOver - I like that!
Well, with one exception, I do like gyros!
Yeuch, Gramma.
I love lamb. Would prefer it over beef
For EastOver we marinate a boned and butterflied leg and cook it on the grill. It's amazing
The taste, the texture.... I just do not like it.
There's great lamb in Ireland
And in Spain
it is so costly I rarely have it
Whether it's great or not,Bich, there's plenty of lamb around. The fields around my house abound with them. The look very cute.
I get it at Costco. Usually loin lambchops or leg of
Soodle I'll stand by what I said. People have had our lamb and thought it was the finest steak they had ever tasted
My bf told me that about hominy...I like grits but she swore she could cook whole hominy and I 'd like it...Nope..
I will bow to your knowledge, Gramma, and wait till I taste yours. In the meantime, I will opt for beef!!!! LOL
I have always wondered if I don't want to eat lamb because they are so cute in life. Chickens are not so cute.
I know I'll never convince you
If bacon were a vegetable, I could be a vegetarian
am I just blind or are the li words unusual?
Riverdance is due here in a couple of weeks. I can't wait to meet up with her. :-)
What li words? Does that answer your question?
There are 2 li words that just have different vowels at the end
ok, finding some now. nevermind
I am so happy you can get together!!
She is soooooo excited Soodle!
I just found 3 easy ones
BRB
lucky Riverdance. I will get to your side of the pond one of these days Soodle
The weather for the past couple of weeks has been absolutely perfect. Everything is green and fresh. I truly hope that she has a good time here. (I almost feel responsible for the weather!!!)
BAbble meetups would abound if we all could just win the lottery!
Firing up the Babble Lear Jet....
Jilly ... All it takes is ONE of us to win the lottery....
I am with you Jilly
When we went to Ireland in July we were expecting cool and rainy. We had warm sunny days
Gonna have to be a BIG win...LOL
brb
I have to get my foot fixed properly before I can travel any distance
Girls, I'm gonna have to sign off now. One and all, thank you. I don't know where I would be without my Babble buddies. Your support is incalculable. Poof

And now it is time for Crossy,s tidbit of the day!! If you consider yourself any type of a writer for the masses, or just wish to be more eloquent when you pound out your next grocery list, today's tidbit is for you! > run, do not walk and get your ink-stained hands(and the rest of you) over to this site and take a peek at Chuck Wendig's book: Confessions of a freelance Pen Monkey. It is like that Dutch uncle you hate tearing your baby, your beautiful new first novel apart and leaving it in ruins on the floor. Molly have you seen the Nutri Bullet Pro 900
Thank you for looking out for me Molly!
FYI...Indy did 2 miles today!
Of all the things my friends who were once hotel maids told me about finding left in a hotel room, knitting was not one of them.
thanks for your help with the dog and the girl, car
Any time!
I saw it on HSN yesterday and it is on now. I ordered it and then was wondering if I would do as well with the regular nutribullet.
Ewwww. Been there.
I probably did two miles today too
Good!
Peri, it depends on how big of a drink you want to make and how many times a day you would use it. The 900 is in reference to the motor speed.
I called the hotel and left a message for lost and found. I would love to have the knitting back, but I REALLY want the bag it is in back
Time to take Archer out for evening play time. Anyone want to come with?
I have never used a nutribullet before.

this is working out great. my biggest problem in babble is trying to decide how to approach the grid!
LOL, some from the top, some from the bottom...we'll just splatter you here and there
My approach to grids is always the same ... find a word ... then another and another until there are no more to fid.
I sorta like that, sometimes the fireworks surprise me!
<-----!!FW!!
yay jill!
sh6 clue, anybody?
I approach the puzzle the same way every day. I find all of the four letter words first. If it is less than 200 words, then I will open Lickety and find as many more words as I can. Then I go to archives & look for clues.
woo hoo jilly!
Congratulations Jillyjill on your fireworks!Hooray for you
wtg, Jilly
ty all! Now just need a big grid to pull up my abysmal statS
If the grid is over 200 words,I'll find half listless. Then I just go straight to archives to look for clues&I plug words into the list. Sometimes I I'll just skip babbling.
I bet your stats are not any more abysmal than mine are
clue for en 6/21....please

hi Jilly. I was here earlier and saw that you and your son sing in a choir together. How nice.
HE's been living with us since college graduation while trying to get into a grad school. It's had it's + and - LOL, but singing has been fun. He leaves to work in Yellowstone park next week
what kind of job in Yellowstone? I always thought it would be a fun place to work
Concessionaire working in burger joint...as he says, not the best pay, but I got a back yard to die for!
My hubby and our youngest all worked in Yellowstone park when they were in college
yes, not the best job but it is not the kind he will take home at night. and what a neat family tradition!
one of my sons worked at the same bookstore I did when I married his Dad but that is it.
Sad, but they struggle to find people to work, have to hire a lot of foreigners, american kids don't like to work
I have to admit that most of the kids of today have never even had chores. When I worked in the schools I was always shocked by what they considered to be too much to be worth the effort.
Congratulations wht on your fireworks! Hooray for you!
Goodbye wht! I willl see you tomorrow in the chog maybe

thanks bugs--- that's it for this sleepy puppy
Dorens, you're in Yosemite and playing Babble?
Hello Dorens and 72 Temple Owl!How are you guys doing?
Hi Min! As usual, working my way through your story clues! :-)
Hello Nef. Not much of a story, but I hope it helped you.
It has! You know I always try to read them, whether or not I find any words in them.
how is life treating you these days, Min?
Life is ok. My husband's step-father passed away today.
May I have a clue for the 9's please? I'm trying for NBS & NBT for now
So we are a little sad. We last saw him a few weeks ago.
I'm sorry to hear that MIn; my condolences.
That co9/66 word is an herb or a spice.Had to google it.
Wow! I know that one! Thanks!
Thanks a lot Nef. Was more like a father than a step-dad to my husband. He was really close to him growing up.
so he'd been married to your hubby's Mom for a long time. I'm sorry for the family's loss
They were never married, but she went out with him for about 27 years. We just refer to him as a step-father.
Had he been ill before this?
He had COPD.Had been in the hospital for about a month
We saw him a few weeks ago.We thought he was getting better, but his lungs exasperated again and that was it.
Oh. That's a hard way to go. When I was young and working the general ICU, I'd get the end-stage COPD patients because I could calm them down and get them to relax better than some of the high-strung nurses.
My own father died of COPD. I'm glad I never even thought of smoking
I heard he wanted to smoke while he was in the hospitlal
hi all, back trying to get the last 20...
I wouldn't doubt it. I've seen that many times before; and even people who have had tracheotomies for throat cancer often smoke --through the tracheostomy
HI TK. Long time no see! (I'm rarely on in the daytime now due to taking care of my grandson)
i haven't been on at all for ages nef. nice to see you too - and min too! ty for the babble tale :)
may i wish dear queen elizabeth a very happy birthday?
Hello TraderKate! How are you doing? Welcome to chog.
hi min! i'm very well, and you? i see your hubby has relinquished the computer.... ;)
evening all
hi jes! How are you tonight
hi jes :)
not too shabby, how're you wunnerful folks?
i can see a begging session sneaking up on me... i must be blind, maybe time to eat something.
I'm doing okay, jes.
I just read your profile about your cat and was thinking about our cat situation here….
aw, poor little kitty :(
what's your cat situation?
we have both a cat and dog that are about 14 yrs old; our cat is a female , spayed and declawed; and our son moved in here the end of July with his 5 yr. old male neutered cat (still has claws too). The 2 cats still growl and chase after each other and I wonder how long it will take before they settle down?
Sometimes, even the dog takes after 1 or the other when they are fighting!
(Our cat has lived both with and without other cats; my son rescued his cat as a kitten in a blizzard and it hasn't been around other cats or even dogs since then)
I'll be seeing my sister who is a vet sometime next week; so I was going to ask her that question too. I didn't mean to stump you or make you work on your off-hours, jes.
sometimes they never do get along, Nef - just like some people never do.
no, you're fine, Nef. I'm just distracted dealing with kid drama.
oh-oh. Not another girlfriend(I hope)
no, his current girlfriend is actually fairly nice. responsibility issues; to whit, he has none.
LOL, jes. that is a hard one.
Is he ADHD or something (I can't remember)
27 to go, they just drag on here....
You feel that way too, harp? I've got 100 left and feel like I can't see anything at all now (I started about 2 hours agp)
no, just... inept?
I took Lent off so I think I'm out of practice also.
But the first two grids hav not been easy!
Well, isn't that typical of teen boys these days?
(teen age boys quit computer games for Lent?) lol
I suppose... but it's not like he's got very much in the way of responsibility, so that he's not keeping up with the little he has is extremely frustrating.
Good for you for succeeding at giving up something for lent and sticking with it, harp. I tried something else; I tried not to lose my temper the whole time of lent (and didn't succeed
current point of contention is his dog, which he has not been taking care of.
I wanted to do something that i would really miss!
does he drive yet, jes?
harp; *I* would really miss not playing Babble for that long too! Sometimes I can't play for a week or so; but when I come back I try to get back into it full tilt and it is hard!
well, that's another thing... he passed driver's ed, let his permit lapse, hasn't driven in most of a year, hasn't taken his test for his license, and since I ended up having to fire him (how's that for a great home situation?) he hasn't made any effort to find a different job, so couldn't afford insurance or a car anyway.
oh dear. He's definitely cutting off his nose to spite his face, isn't he?
Well, tell him you will have to put the dog up for adoption if you have to board him to care for him..
he isn't in to drugs or anything, is he? (not that you can tell, I mean)
14 left....
Go, harp! You can do it!
9.....
Well, it's been an ongoing thing ... final straw apparently, the dog lost the invisible fence collar he was wearing (which I bought, along with the fence, for my old dog). I asked him to go look for it, and he went out for like 3 minutes, came back in and said he couldn't find it.
so I told him that's an expensive collar, and I'd like it found or replaced, and sent him a link to the website to buy a new one.
To which he replied that he doesn't think he's responsible enough to keep the dog.
oh-oh.
So I asked him what he plans to do about that (both the responsibility issue and the dog), if he had someone in mind to re-home the dog with.
jes, how's he doing in school?
He hasn't replied. I expect that eventually he'll get around to asking me to help him adopt the dog out, but I'm going to make him ask, not just assume it. He's done enough assuming on my responsibility as it is with this dog.
He's... inconsistent? Some classes he gets A's, but he damn near failed History last trimester. He doesn't like the teacher, so he wasn't turning his homework in....
Has he had the dog long? How did he get it?
how does that even make sense!? you don't like the teacher so you sabatoge yourself into needing to repeat the class?
What is he getting A's in? Can you and his Dad talk to the teachers to find out what's going on in school with him?
He got the dog last September, asked us if he could have him (dog was a sheriff impound that was never claimed). We said yes, on the condition that he take care of him, and pay all ongoing expenses.
Believe it or not, that sabotaging himself is pretty typical of some teens: I don't like the teacher, so I won't do the homework, so the teacher gives him bad grades, so he doesn't like the teacher!
He's getting A's in art and metal shop and like that. B's in math and science. He is totally capable of doing well in History, just can't be bothered.
What are his friends like?
Is there a chance he's doing drugs (pot) or something?
around us? quiet. musically inclined... he's playing drums in a friend's band.
he can be very creative, is good at art and design stuff, but just totally lacks follow-through on anything else.
what kind of band?
Always a chance, right? But I really doubt he's doing anything drug-related.
metal
done! thank you all!
My son was the same way except not musical, his friends were computer nerds), but he is ADHD, and he started smoking pit with 1 other guy. It took him until he was 24 or so before he really grew up mentally
yay harpjane!
YAY, harpjane!!! WTG!!!
congrats harpjane!!! it is a toughie today!
and of course,by the time he was 21 he had a felany conviction because he was dumb enough to screw up his probation after a misdemeanor
felony; not felany
good night, all
Good Night harp. Take care!
heh. well, so far the kid has avoided arrest.
niters jane
good for him -- and you guys who have to put up with him! ;-)
It's hard, jes. Just remember to pick your battles carefully; because it's a lot harder if you don't
finito!
YAY, Trader Kate!!! WTG!!!
had to crawl through wordlists for the last 10 or so... my eyes are bugged out, lol
does anyone want any hints or out-right clues even? lurkerz welcome to speak up :D
I don't at this point, TK. I knew I wouldn't finish when I started so late
Sometimes it feels like it's all one big battle without end, Nef
you have the grandbaby all day? so no chance to babble at all 'til after dinner?
I think I'll quit for now; I don't want to be up for all hours by being sucked in after the flip. Niters all
Happy Babbling!
i think you are very wise... speaking of picking your battles....some grids will make you crazy if you let them.... very mature of you to walk away with your he 4 high :)
(((jes))) I know how that feels
sweet dreams nef, see you tomorrow maybe?
Grandbaby is almost 5 now TK (May 2nd!
And yes, *I* am the chief child care provider (son works from home on QA issues for 2 companies right now)
wow!!! how time flies! (it really is impossible to keep track)... i once read that facebook is e-mail on crack... not far wrong! i have met so many people i would like to keep closer ties with, but it gets unmanageable very quickly :(
LOL! Good description of FB there; I've been rather choosey about who I friend and what I do there and even so, it's addicting
you must dash soon nef... i can feel the all-consuming vortex approaching...flip, flop, flip, flop.... just like a b movie.... it's coming to haunt us ;)
Hello everyone :)
nan!!!!! hiya :)
3minutes left so I'm now off (Hi & Bye nan!)
